Never buy a Samsung appliance. (My repair guy told me this and he is right.) Three years ago I splurged and bought my first brand new Samsung washer and dryer with all the bells and whistles. Since then I have met every Sears appliance repair guy that works in the B.C. Within a month of owning it, the entire drum of the dryer had to be replaced. Sensors that needed replacing four times. Belts and bolts and then the drum of the washer. It is three years old and rusting. My repair guy says that is common with Samsung washers. Guess they didn't build them to get wet. And in case you are wondering what kind of toxic waste I am putting in my dispenser. I have actually never used that dispenser. Not even once.

Luckily I bought the extended warranty so Sears is stuck with me for another year (then I bought the extension on my warranty because the woman on the phone didn't know how much that was going to cost them in service calls). I see the repair guy once a month, minimum, sometimes twice. It has become a bit of a joke but I want what I paid for so every time some new doesn't work, no matter how small - I book a service appointment. I assume I will eventually have a new washer one piece at a time.

I actually kept a washer and dryer repair notebook (which became two notebooks). I keep details about what repairs had been done and what was working and what wasn't. And NOW... My washer has been RECALLED because the lid flies off during the spin cycle. I can't wait to see this. So SAMSUNG is offering a rebate. This should be good considering this was a $3500 washing machine. Oh goody. GUESS HOW MUCH THEY ARE OFFERING IN REBATE (and only if I buy another one of their crappy machines). GO ON... GUESS. $163.00. Just for the record, I wouldn't take another Samsung appliance in my home if it was free and came with dinner. I won't be taking them up on their rebate offer. I would strongly suggest that you never buy a Samsung appliance.

I bought one of the exploding top load washing machines back in January. Called Samsung to ask about their rebate. In USA you can buy any brand washing machine for offered rebate. In Canada you have to buy another Samsung. I don't want Samsung washing machine anymore. I think the policy should be the same in both countries.

Just got off the phone with Samsung on their recall for the top loading washing machine we purchased. In our view this just a scam. They are trying to act like they are trying to correct a problem by hiding behind an American government agency with the following options: 1. A one hundred fifty dollar rebate to buy another of their poor quality products. 2. A cash settlement (in my case 54.00 for a 900+ machine.) Samsung decides the depreciation. 3. They will provide a free repair (already done, we paid for it and it did not work!) All this done as they most apply point out numerous times in their recorded messages in conjunction with Federal Consumer Protection agency's blessings. Shame on everyone involved.

I purchased Samsung's washer and dryer and saw online they had a recall. I tried contacting them at the number listed, and was continually hung up on due to heavy traffic. I registered the recall online and was given a repair date and case number. The next day they send an email asking that I confirm the repair date by calling a number, which I tried calling for two days constantly being disconnected due to high call volume.

I then did an online chat with Samsung's support group who assured me they had confirmed the date and made it a high priority. They did not show up or call me, and again I did a chat, in which a supervisor confirmed they were schedule today, and said they were backed up and I guess since they didn't notify me of the cancellation, didn't care. Samsung has outsourced the service and doesn't appear to be involved or concerned. I say this because I sent an email to the office of the CEO, who has responded, by just saying they appreciate me sending an email. No mention of any help or concern.

We read that top loading washers were exploding 6 days ago and I went to their site to check if our washer was affected. Sure enough it was. I filled out their online form and was directed that a Samsung operator would contact me within 24-48 hours. I went to their site again today and there is no way to contact them other than call and wait on hold until you are tired of waiting and hang up. I entered my washer serial number and product code again and now they say it is not being recalled. I don't believe them and I am very upset that they never contacted me from the query from six days ago. Meanwhile, I am scared to use my washer. Will it explode? Never again - No Samsung products for our family.

Updated on 12/12/2016: After three attempts to get an appointment to have our top load washer fixed so that it does not blow up, we finally got an appointment for 12-9-16. They stood us up. I contacted them and got an email that does not take responses stating that their website did not record the appointment and to use the same website to make a new appointment. I went back to the website, completed all the information again and got a message that there are no appointments available in my area. I called their 800 number and got a message that they have high call volume and could either wait or schedule a call back. I elected to wait since they did not call me back the first time I tried to schedule an appointment. After 10 minutes, they hung up on me without any contact with a CSR. This is no way to run a business.

I purchased Samsung top load washer on May 4th 2016. Samsung top load washer have been recalled. These washer can explode and may harm you or member of your family. Samsung offering a refund program for customers who want a refund and don't wish to purchase a Samsung washer. Unfortunately, Samsung Washer Recall refund program is a scam. Samsung set a limit on the refund. In my case it set the amount to a maximum of $515.00 which is less than the amount I paid 599.99 plus taxes $24 for a total $623.99; less that costs of water hoses and delivery. Moreover Samsung Washer refund scam requires customers to purchase another washer first, and if the customer chooses to purchase a less expensive washer, then Samsung refund will be limited to purchase price of the lower cost replacement washing machine.

Samsung customer/victim will not get any refund amount; if he/she chooses not to buy a replacement. If the Customer wants Samsung to come to pickup their machine that could harm their family, they are not going to get a refund and they have to remove that machine at their expense. Samsung have setup a multi-layer recall management process where a first level answering staff takes customer complaints and write notes. But customers have no right to speak to higher level teams directly. I was promised that I would a call back from Samsung special recall team at 2:00 PM, no calls received that day. I called back at the end of the day. I have paid more than $515 including taxes, but Samsung will not refund the actual cost of my defective/dangerous washer. In fact, I can't get the $515 unless I purchase a Washing machine for $515 or more.

If am able to find cheaper machine then I will get the price of lower cost machine and Samsung keeps in their pockets more of my money. This scam is the official Samsung policy. There are many Samsung washers models numbers that have this recall scam. Samsung phone can burn you, their washing machines can kill you and their customer abuse center and process will cause you to lose their mind and force you to submit to their scam or surrender all together. I advise every person to avoid purchasing any Samsung product because their warranty and customer support/relations are useless.

I bought the washer and dryer and just under one year my washer wouldn't spin out the water anymore. Sound familiar??? I called Samsung and they told me to call a qualified (by them) repair person. He came out and replaced the tub, washer nut and charged me $236 even though it was still under warranty. He told me the tub was under recall but nobody from Samsung had contacted me. Now I found out that all of these washers being recalled includes ours. I guess we are pretty lucky that it didn't explode or catch on fire!!! Tempted to get the most money and put it toward another Samsung top loader with an agitator, but after reading all of the comments and seeing the images on TV I will NOT be buying another Samsung product of any kind.

We were told that our washer was defective, and that we are to return to the place we bought the washer and get another. Simple right? We found out that Samsung sent out 3 different e-mails. Home Depot received an e-mail that did not list our machine as defective, yet the e-mail we received said it was. We showed them the e-mail, they made a call, and was told to use their own discretion. We were told our option was to either buy another machine (another $500.00) and they would send us a check or gift card. We don't have another $500. We just want an even exchange, no hassles.

We called the hotline, waited 2 hours on hold, then the man ultimately told us that we can't expect to get a new machine after we used it for almost a year. We responded that we weren't the ones who put out the recall, they did. He hung up on us. There has to be a better system. Call this number to make a complaint 1-800-638-2772, this is the U.S. Government Consumer Helpline. The rep. say they've been getting call like ours all day.

In July 2016 I bought a Samsung Washer Dryer to replace a 20 year old Maytag. The Maytag was still working – no issues ever, but the unit was starting show some rust on the top door. The new WA45K7600 Samsung washing machine looks nice but it has been a problem since day one. Load balancing goes out of whack frequently and the towels have a strange smell out of the washing machine. Last week we got the news that the washing machine has a recall. The recall is for the washing machine only. I am told I get a full refund if I buy another Samsung washing machine. Partial refund if I buy another brand. In either case, I cannot buy a new washing machine to match my Samsung dryer.

Three months into a new set, I am faced with a mismatched set! The dryer does not dry the clothes on the first run and we have to re-run to dry clothes. My 20 year old Maytag was better than these units. I bought the washer/dryer from HHGregg. They are unwilling to help and refer me to Samsung. I will not recommend buying Samsung Washers or Dryers. I own Samsung TV sets and tablets. Shame on Samsung for leaving their customers in a lurch.

We bought a front load washer and dryer 2 months ago, that's August/September 2016. It was professionally installed by the place we purchased it. We got the optional 5 year warranty on both, within the first few days I noticed the dryer was making a noise that didn't seem normal. They are suppose to be somewhat quiet?? I thought?? I shrugged it off for a week or 2, and couldn't stand the noise any longer. I called the warranty and they sent a tech out. They said the drum was defective and has been rubbing on something. He submitted a claim, Samsung called and said the dryer couldn't be repaired and would send instructions on how to deactivate the dryer and send pics to confirm and they would send a company to come pick up the unit to receive a refund.

A week later I never heard anything from anyone. I called back and a different person told me they wouldn't pick up the dryer due to it being a gas dryer and I had to dispose of it myself. At this point I still have not gotten any instructions on how to deactivate the dryer?? Now it's been a month and the washer now is starting to mess up. It will start the wash cycle, but not add water, it will take the detergent and softener but no water?? Finish the entire cycle with no water??? I have called Samsung and told that both washer and dryer are malfunctioning now and want them to come pick both up... I have called several times. Talked to customer service several times. They continue to tell me they will call me but never do?? What am I suppose to do now? I need to get rid of these but can't get them out as I am a disabled veteran, and don't want to void the warranty??

1 year old. Price: $1000.00. Quality in engineering and manufacture: piss poor. The body is rusting severely around bleach spout. Wash cycle does not fill sufficiently to even wet clothing. Never mind washing properly. Twists all clothing into ropes of fabric with the result that the items are not cleaned properly. The machine emits a grinding noise on wash and rinse cycle at a 1 second rate: errr, errr, errr, errr, and so on.

My mother had a Maytag wringer washer, filled from a utility sink, that washed clothes with a 2 per second whoosh, whoosh. And, funny, but though we were ignorant and incompetent in those days, that washer would fill to any level desired, at any temperature, and cleaned the HELL out of fabric. The most interesting point is: No one was EVER killed by wringer washers. Samsung locked us out of these machines merely so we could not see what an inferior job was being done.

Only one thing is lacking on this machine: Wheels! Which I need to roll this piece of junk off a cliff. Let's smarten up. Buy from companies with proven track records: Maytag, Kenmore, Westinghouse, etc.

After remodeling our home, we spent over $7,000 on all new appliances... all which are Samsung. I have had a problem with every single one of them, which has led to more $$$ to repair. If you are reading this do yourself a favor...

DO NOT purchase a Samsung appliance. I had water puddling inside of my $3000 refrigerator which was streaming out the doors and down the front of the refrigerator. The door of my oven fell completely off. The locking mechanism of my microwave broke and the door would not stay shut. My washing machine goes out of balance and beeps every time within the first 5 minutes of washing and does not spin dry the clothes which leads to a second rinse and spin cycle... So I got one of the "explosive" Samsung models that is being recalled. So Samsung is offering a refund option but the refund is significantly less than the MSRP and in fact much less than the price I paid for it during the 2015 Black Friday sale, not to mention that it requires you to go out and buy another washer first then hope you get your money back via the mail in form. So let's see, offering $450 for a $700 washer? Is this a joke? You make a explosive machine and we have to go through these troubles to get reimbursed less than what we paid for? So should I just have the machine explode in my house and then have my attorney sue the hack out of you? Seriously Samsung if this is how you do business then you have no business here in the US!

I only wished I had read so many of these reviews prior to buying a Samsung top loader and dryer on May 29, 2016 from Best Buy. I am now 8 days without a working dryer and concerned about the safety of the washer although the model number is not on the recall list (WA50K8600AW/A2) because I have zero faith in Samsung or its customer service.

My dryer (Model # DV50K8600EW/A3) broke on Tuesday, October 25. I called Best Buy, and they informed me that I needed to call Samsung. I spent an hour on the phone with Samsung doing all kinds of silly things to prove the dryer didn't work. The Samsung rep gave me the ticket number, and said someone from Home Service Network would be in touch within 24-48 hours.

Beginning on Wednesday morning, I left 3-4 voicemail messages begging for a return call and an appointment sooner. I have three kids, work full time and had a family wedding coming up that weekend. I received a return phone call at 3 pm on Thursday informing me on my appointment for repair on Thursday, November 3rd (10 days after the dryer broke). On Friday, my husband called Samsung explaining that the November 3rd appointment was unacceptable. He was told that we would receive a call back in 1-2 hours. We never got a call back.

I called and spoke to a supervisor on Monday (Angel ** at 8007267864, extension **). I flipped out over the experience of poor customer service and the length of time to get the scheduled repair. I was told that he would call by 5 pm to try to get another service provider. No phone call back. I then received a phone survey asking about my customer service experience. I started to explain how horrific it had been, and the man hung up on me. Then on Wednesday, I received a call telling me that if I produced a receipt of purchase Samsung would determine if they would replace the dryer or refund my money since they could not find a service repair company to repair it.

I live outside Manhattan. Shouldn't be that challenging to get someone to me. The last rep I dealt with was condescending and rude. SAMSUNG is the WORST! I would NEVER buy another Samsung product again and only did because it was highly recommended by the rep at Best Buy. I keep saying that this is like a Seinfeld episode except that it's not the least bit funny. It is the worst customer experience I have ever encountered.

Bigger deal to fix and we sold it for parts... figured we got a lemon and Samsung will do NOTHING for you when it is out of warranty. THEN the dryer caught on fire six months later! Again out of warranty and they would not replace it. Or refund. Just offered to see if it can be fixed!

Can you imagine having an appliance like this back in your home? Not me. Not Samsung... ever again. Customer service is terrible. Bought these units about 1-1/2 years ago. Multiple issues with both units. Washer: Better select right selection on washer unless you want clothes destroyed or not washed properly. Washing sheets or blankets on normal or heavy duty rips holes in blanket where the center agitator is. Washing Towels on normal will shut off during spin cycle as always goes out of balance. Spins cycle sucks when re-adjusting for unbalanced loads. You have to re-adjust and then wait 6 to 8 minutes while unit slowly spins up to normal spin speed. Not like a US based unit that goes to full spin ASAP so you can nearly immediately tell if the load's out of balance and make immediate corrections. I have wasted nearly 1/2 hour standing over the washer and re-adjusting the load to get through the spin cycle. The guy that designed that algorithm should assemble the units. Not write software.

Dryer: Normal and Heavy Duty loads work for about 1st month then when the humidity sensor fouls, probably due to lint - they stop working correctly and your clothes don't dry. Timed cycle works, but defaults to 40 minutes when it typically takes 90 minutes. You have to press and hold then adjust time for about 2 minutes while the time increments from 40 to 90 minutes. The lint filter consistently gets lint build up under it which is very hard to remove and keeps the filter from setting down into the properly. Once one of the kids gave up trying to set the filter and just turned on the dryer. Within a minute it sucked in a pair of underwear. What a mess that was to service.

I bought a Samsung washer (WF42H5200AW) and dryer (DV42H5200GW) from Home Depot online. The dryer was defective from day one. It didn't spin, right after the installation where it spun once, when tested. I called Samsung hotline right away to ask for help. They tried trouble-shooting over the phone and first claimed it must be an installation fault and insisted that my plumber fix the issue, and in my second call, Samsung said the power source in my home is an issue and said to get an electrician to look into it. The plumber and the electrician came and went and said the dryer isn't working, and it wasn't due to installation or power source. I called Samsung again. That's when they agreed to have a Samsung technician come fix it.

Two weeks later, a technician came and said the dryer is 'dead', said he has to order a new motor. I called Samsung asking for a replacement since the dryer was bought new and I shouldn't have to live with a fix. I was told no and that Samsung policy is to fix things instead of replacement or refund unless the issue isn't fixable. The second technician came one week later and said he cannot fix it because the dryer was stacked above the washer and he isn't allowed to unstack it. He left without fixing it.

After several calls for a refund, Samsung insisted on sending another technician from another service company who would supposedly do everything it would take to fix it. That technician never showed up. I must have called Samsung over 10 times to ask for refund and they would put me on hold for a long time and then have a different person tell me that Samsung policy is to fix things and not to refund.

In the end, I called Home Depot to ask for help and Home Depot stepped up and agreed to take back the washer and dryer to the nearest store, and to give me a refund. I think Home Depot might have to swallow the loss out of goodwill and good customer service. Samsung to this date has refused to a refund. In fact, the ironic thing is I just received an invitation from Samsung directly, to an extended warranty on the dryer!? Samsung makes products of terrible quality and offers horrible customer service. I am extremely surprised and have now sworn never, ever to buy another Samsung product ever again.

Samsung needs to be shut down! I have one of the affected "exploding" washing machines. I have made calls, sent emails, documentation and more. I was told they would refund my money. Then my refund was denied stating my receipt was "blurry". I honestly feel retailers should step in and help consumers. I now sit with a washing machine that is not usable as it sounds like a jet ready to take off when it is in use. It is absolutely sick to know a huge corporation has absolutely no concern for their customers in this predicament. Most of us cannot afford to run out and just purchase a new washer and dryer because Samsung built yet another crappy product. Is anyone going to do anything? I will NEVER purchase another Samsung product ever! The CEO of Samsung should be ashamed and step up. Let's ask Mr. Gregory Lee (Samsung CEO)... If one of these products was in your home, I'd be willing to bet it is gone now!

My husband and I just recently purchased Samsung products on all of our appliances for our home that we just renovated. Just moved in and first dishwasher load ran constantly. Was told by customer service that our plumber installed it incorrectly. Then last night our washer just shut down (active wash model). I now have to call them back when I get home to go over some reset procedures. Mind you it has a load of clothes in it sitting in water. It has been used maybe 15 times by the way. All of our friends said as soon as they found out that we purchased Samsung, "I hope you purchased a good warranty on all of those, haha."

We purchased these because of the Samsung name brand. We liked the style and quality of the appliances, but now I am beginning to rethink our purchase. I have an old set of Whirlpool that has lasted 14 years so far with no problems. I guess that's what I'll use tonight to wash my clothes until I can figure out what's wrong with this brand spanking new set. So not happy.

8 days ago, contacted Samsung to report that my front loading washer was not working. After informing them, I had to scan and send them a copy of my sale receipt because for some reason, they start tracking a 1 Year Warranty on products they sell to the "Retail Store" in a box and not being used? So, I have to prove that I bought the product new and so I am still under warranty? This should never be an issue as when you buy it, the store should send in a registration to Samsung noting the date when the warranty should begin. After 2 days, I received call from them and confirmation that I was still under warranty, then discussed the problem, they determined it was a "programming error".

Now I had to have a servicemen come and fix it, so I started to schedule the repair time and date. I found out that in an area of millions of people they had only TWO approved service companies and they are swamped... DUH! With the problems that Samsung is having with the top loaders, their mobile phones and God knows what else, why on earth would you only have two companies approved? So, after waiting a week to get service, I find out that the company the service order number was sent to, was redirected to a new company and now they are making me wait another 4 days until they are free. How can they expect to keep customers happy and do this?

As I approached the stairs I saw smoke coming from my laundry room. I then got in there and saw the smoke pouring out of my washer. I then turned the power to the machine off and called the fire department. Apparently the fire inspector said this is very common for these washers to catch on fire. The bang was caused from the drum collapsing and tore a price of the rubber seal located in the front of the machine. I lost everything!!!

I called Samsung and was put through to 5 different people before I finally got to speak to someone, which was really a waste of time, he was not helpful at all, telling me I needed to send them a report from the investigator which is fine then he also stated that I needed to send in the receipt and where I purchased it, I began to explain to him that I do not have the receipt as the washer and dryer were in the house at the time of purchase. They want me to track down the realtor to then get a hold of the person who originally purchased the set. I'm like "are you kidding me? I could have lost my whole house because of your washer.

It has been almost a month and I am still do not have a working Dryer. Samsung ECR team called me and offered to replace my unit. When I said yes the ECR team member that called me to provide the offer said that she is just offering but can't make any decisions.

I called today after three days from the offer, I was told that the status is still pending; I was told the Samsung ECR team will not be working today Friday 10-7-2016. I advise everyone to not buy Samsung products, it is the worst decision I made. It cost me double the price of the unit in money spent drying in coin stores, travel gas and time, drywall repairs to be done, and pain and loss of peace of mind.

Everyone knows about Samsung Note Phones are fire hazard, their washing machine can explode with big spinning parts may come out flying at you; and their dryers if they break while under warranty you may have to wait for months to get them to repair it. They contract with the most cheapest contractors in your area, underpaid technicians can be rude and not reliable in terms of arrival time. Plan to have lots of days off.

I bought a Samsung washer and dryer less than 3 years ago. In the first year, the spin cycle quit working. Samsung sent a tech out. It was the motherboard of the machine. Now 2 and a few months later, the spin cycle quit working again. I had to use the machine for 2 days without spin because I was leaving for over a week and had to have clothes. The machine would stay on spin for 30 minutes to 2 hours but not spin and it made an awful grinding sound. As soon as I got home, I called Samsung. Yep right on the machine it says 10 year warranty. Of course, after you buy it you realize it really is only the 1st year and then it is just motor etc... So I got a service ticket on Monday and on Thursday I got a call. Just like the other comment, they wanted 80.00 to drive to my house and 80.00 to tell me what was wrong plus tax. I am a home health Therapist. I drive to people's homes evaluate and treat them and I don't charge 160.00.

I told their technician not in this lifetime and called my home warranty. It took until Saturday the next week to get a tech to look at the machine. He listened to the spin cycle, took the back off the machine, and the bolt holding the motor onto the machine is PLASTIC. The motor was loose, the bolt was broke and the barrel was loose and moving but not rotating. He was not able to do Samsung warranty work so he was going to call someone. I did not hear anything. I called Samsung service again on a Monday. I explained the whole 160.00+ tax and me using my warranty instead and that it was warranty work with the motor. They said, "Okay we will send someone out to check." UH- NO. It has already been checked and I am not paying the 160.00. Hello I just told you that. So they told me to fax the invoice to them. I faxed on Monday. They were supposed to call me Thursday to set up service.

Instead someone calls my husband at 3:30 pm. He tells them to call me. At 4:00 pm, I call them and get a non-English speaking first language Indian who ask for a bill of sale. I finally get to invoice. He says, "Yes, they did not get the invoice." I said, "The one I faxed on Monday." Again, we did not get it. So the day you are supposed to call to set up service you call to tell me you did not get the fax I sent 3 days ago. At this point, I have had it. I tell him, "I don't care about excuses for not calling me before 3 days," to tell me they did not get the fax and waiting until the day they were supposed to set up service to call and then me having to call them. I wanted service to me this week period. He did not like that I would not listen to him repeat himself and talked over him so he hung up. Sorry but does anybody like to speak to Indians on the phone who have an accent and don't speak or understand English well - repeating yourself is not helpful.

I called back. Went through this all again. Still got, we will not send service until we get the invoice. After 3 weeks, I said fine I'm done with you and am calling an attorney. I hung up and called an attorney. Samsung and a lot of other companies think it is okay to make crap in China, sell it for a lot of money to US citizens (as if it was made in America), and don't care because they made a huge profit and the consumer is left with the crap. They have so many lawsuits, they are used to it.

I looked up washers and dryers on Consumer Reports before I bought Samsung was highly rated. If this is good, what is bad. I have used my friends washer the last 2 weeks, it is an LG, and I realized the Samsung sucks even when it is working. I just thought my husband and I were hard on our whites especially socks. 1 washing in her machine, and I took my normal detergent etc.., and our socks are white again. So now I wonder if any of my clothes are clean.

The reason for this review is that Samsung washers and dryers are very poor quality and SHOULD NOT BE PURCHASED. We bought a Samsung front-load washer (model WF328AAR/XAA) and matching dryer (model DV328AER/XAA) from Best Buy in early 2009. Total cost was over $2000, including the "Geek Squad four-year extended warranty". The dryer didn't last five years before I had replace the heating element and later, all four drum rollers and the belt tensioner roller. Then about a year ago, the washer pump quit. I removed it and found what I thought were small "stones" stuck in the pump. Come to find out that the "stones" are actually chunks of metal coming from the anchoring bracket of the stainless steel washer drum. The bracket is made of inferior metal and is corroding. As a result, the washer has difficulty balancing. The problem is getting worse as metal chunks have chewed up the plastic vanes in the water pump.

In addition, the rear outer tub surrounding the washer drum has developed a crack and is leaking. I sealed the leak but the other problems remain. It just a matter of time before the washer fails. I am concerned about safety should the washer drum break free of its bracket during a spin cycle. This problem with the metal bracket has been known to Samsung long before we bought the machines. I found people reporting similar problems on the web. This is nothing but consumer fraud on Samsung's part.

Washer problems - You have to turn the thing off completely if you want to add anything. The rubber inside tore off easily, and needed replacing after only one year, because it was leaking. Sometimes the spin cycle stops and leaves you with soaking went rugs, or towels. Dryer problems - Lint catcher doesn't go all the way down, so the sides that hook up, catch tops with straps and ripped them off.

My blacks have streaks all over them and I can't brush or get the streaks off. It looks like white powder or dust or something. I've called and called and called and have gone to Home Depot. Home Depot said it's not their problem and to call Samsung! Finally gave up! This is disgusting! I was told to use the cleaner cycle. Well I've done that 20 times! Unbelievable!

I bought a Samsung washer and dryer 3 years ago. My washer is very horrible as well as dryer. Doesn't clean clothes right and spins out of control leaving the load unbalanced all the time. I had to look up a YouTube video that helped somewhat with keeping the drum in place from the crazy spinning. The area where bleach goes is rusty and corroded like lots of the other people on here. I really wish I never bought this washer. I paid lots of money for it because of the name and because I have owned Samsung electronic products as well as my phone for many years.

I have never had issues with these, but honestly, Samsung needs stop making appliances and stop using known actors in their commercials to help promote their crappy things. They need to just stick to what they know best which are electronics. People need to research the product they are going to buy, and honestly if I would have done the research, I would have never bought these household appliances.

I just found out today that the Samsung top load washer I own could have a potentially fatal problem - the washer could catch fire or could explode. Samsung says I can continue using it but wash bedding, waterproof items and heavy loads on the delicate cycle. Anyone who owns one of these already knows it is difficult enough to get items clean in one of these machines on regular cycles and on delicate the bedding won't even be clean. And then there is the chance the machine can explode or catch fire (and burn down my home). Isn't it time that these units be RECALLED? I would like a refund (not a replacement or a repaired unit) and this is the last Samsung anything I will ever buy. I bought it in 2013 and it is also already rusting inside the lid. 7 months after purchasing this machine and dryer the washers spin cycle began to get increasingly crazy and noisy. After being told to replace the 4 suspension rods we replaced them - it worked for about 6 more months then it started doing the same thing. I constantly have to redistribute clothes and the loads are not oversized. Along with the ruptured spinning the cycles also go completely nuts with the machine refilling with water then spinning then refilling etc - it's a nightmare!! Now I hear this model has exploded in pieces on consumers and I wonder if I should even use it at all. We are not wealthy people and paid good money on this set after researching Consumer Reports and other reviews and seeing it was recommended!

Always before our machines have lasted over 10 years - for a family of 8 and no issues at all! Now there are only 3 of us in the home and this "heavy duty" machine began breaking down 6 months after purchase the first time. And after replacing the rods it's now starting to do the same thing again in less than a year! I hope Samsung does the right thing and recalls these machines and gives a refund for the full price! Such a let down! I would advise the smart engineers to go back to basics and forget about fancy bells and whistles! All we need is a decent working wash machine we can count on - what you are doing is not working! This machine is only 3 years old!

Not to go on and on but the poorly designed bleach dispenser area around the cup is rusting out. I Can't use it and it is continuing to rust even though I stopped using it. I only used it 4 or 5 times - another annoying flaw! My receipt is faded enough from a light register tape that it wouldn't show up on here. However I do have it - purchased 2/13/13 at Lowes and paid cash. The store #0462. I'm in the process of getting an order number from Lowe's.

Now in year 4, the spin cycle is all off. Loud banging and out of balance each and every time, no matter the size of the load. The unit has been checked to make sure it is level, and it is. Repeatedly, I readjust the load, and the unit begins to refill with water, partly spins out, then the banging begins and stops, then I readjust the load again and a new cycle begins again! What a process. I'm saving money for a new washing machine because I refuse to put one more penny into this piece of junk! Immediately after washing my first load, I notice the items washed were still soiled and partly still dry, so of course I had to wash again. This has happened often. I now have to pre-wash every load in my attempt to make sure my laundry is clean. Last week my washer stopped draining water! Been without my washer for since Sept 21st! The only bright spot in this whole ordeal is that I lucked up and got two extremely polite repair technicians who vow to keep trying until they get my washer working again. Let me repeat myself I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER THING FROM SAMSUNG!

I tried to register my complaint via the Samsung website only to be told my submission encountered an error (I did try this several times). Today I called the customer svc # to register via phone; got a nice person on the line, unfortunately she did not have any answers but at least she was polite and took my information. This function is the only function that effectively cleans the clothes. We had to stop using that function. We started to get a DC error and constantly needing to re-adjust even the smallest and well balanced of loads.

This is a super capacity machine that can't complete one sheet without me having to clear the error several times. Sometimes, it has taken me 5 hours of constantly re-adjusting and rewashing and then, had to wring the wash out by hand and through it into the dryer for a very long time. THE BIG issue was when the washer broke and flooded my entire home.

We called Samsung to find that they said that this was a known problem and that we needed to purchase a work around kit to fix the issue. We did purchase it and fixed that problem. This has been the worst washer I have ever owned and I have been washing clothes for 40+ years. After several disappointing calls to the Samsung company service department, I finally called Lowe's where I had purchased the machine and they sent out a service person. We found out that the machine's water level is according to the weight of the load. Unfortunately, this is a poor design because the water does not cover all of the clothes!!! SO we thought about this concept of using the weight of the clothes and not the water level and this is the result to get more water in your washer: Turn on your washer without any clothes in it to whatever load you want to use. For instance, Normal.

Let the water go in without any clothes in it and then use the Stop button which will turn your washer completely off. The water will remain in the washer. Next, put in as many clothes as you can in the washer and push them down in the water so that they are wet. I usually get in about half of the load. Then put your remaining dry clothes in because you will not have enough water to get them wet. Now, put the soap in the dispenser and restart the washer. The water that is in the washer will go out but the weight of the wet laundry will make the machine put in the actual right amount of water that you will need to clean your clothes. I have tried this on all settings and it works for towels or a lighter load. Hope this helps!!!

Samsung one year warranty is NOT based on date of purchase but on the date it was manufactured. How as a consumer would we ever know when it was made? In order for Samsung to honor the year warranty I had to produce the original bill of sales, email it to them and wait for 2/3 day until they decided. So here I sit with a washing machine full of water until they decide whether I have to pay for the repairs or whether they will honor the warranty. SO WHEN YOU PURCHASE A SAMSUNG PRODUCT MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHEN IT WAS MANUFACTURED.

I have owned the Samsung AquaJet VRT SmartCare washing machine for 4 years and have had my basement flooded twice because of this piece of junk!!! The water pump is a plastic piece of garbage that is to withstand the shaking and twisting of the machine. However 2 times the plastic casing broke lose and water filled by laundry room and into the basement. Another wonderful experience is when the washer decided to quit spinning altogether and my clothes Sat there soaking wet.

After hauling out the clothes and sucking the water out with a shop vac, removing doors off my laundry room and hauling the machine outside to have a look at it we discovered a plug had broken off the wires and yet again another repair and inconvenience. Besides all the repairs and headaches the machine is TERRIBLE at cleaning clothes and when sheets are washed they tend to mushroom themselves over the entire load and the top does not get cleaned. It actually comes out dry. DISGUSTING!!! Buyer beware when looking at this brand! It's total crap and waste of $!! I would not have given it even half a star but I had no choice but to choose 1.

The clothes come out as they went in. My kids' athletic clothes come out dirty and still smell sweaty. I've tried EVERYTHING. They've become dingy and ruined. It DOES NOT clean the clothes... The no agitator concept was a HORRIBLE one. I called Samsung and chatted with a rep and was told I should change cycle to heavy load and that I must be doing something wrong... REALLY? Rust around the bleach dispenser and the detergent dispenser... Why would a machine made for water rust? We keep our washer open all the time - except when in use to avoid that mildew smell some washers get - so the washer isn't sitting damp... It's completely dry every single day - Absolutely no reason to rust. I'll never purchase anything Samsung again.

UPDATE ON 6/28/2017: This Samsung washer started rusting within the first year - I went online and tried to get answers from Samsung but only found hundreds of people with my same problem - It rusted in two places - one where bleach goes and the other where the detergent goes - we can't get to the detergent issue so EVERY time we wash we take rags and try to wipe out the majority of the new rust hoping it won't get on our clothes... The other spot, at the bleach dispenser, we can get to and we took a diamond sander (tiny) to remove rust and then painted it with appliance paint... It was totally rusted out again within 3 weeks - Now actual pieces of metal covered in rust are dropping into the wash load and my clothes are RUINED - Found out about the recall... Called... They offered to have ... Brace yourselves.

DISH NETWORK tech come out to "fix" the dangerous tub issue... (ummmm, people - what about the RUST?) Then they'll issue an extended warranty... Wonder if they'll give me a new washer under that warranty because you CAN'T FIX A MACHINE THAT COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT!!! Oh... My other option was a $45.00 check to go towards a new machine... Are. You. Kidding. Me?? I will NEVER have another ANYTHING made by Samsung & if you're considering purchasing ANYTHING from them... STOP. For the love of Pete and all that's holy... DON'T DO IT. (P.S. we just 2 months ago, replaced a 4 year old Samsung Fridge that just gave out). Seriously... remember ----> Samsung = CRAPPY APPLIANCES.

Water ran in the garage ceiling and wooden floors outside the laundry room. The Samsung customer service sent a repairman out. He was an independent and replaced the pump. The repairman said this was a poor design and he had a lot of calls for that same part. The machine seemed to wash clothes OK before we had the pump replaced, but now we have brown trash residue that looks like trash in the machine and on our clothes. It has to be coming from the machine because nothing has changed since the pump was replaced. We also have a stale smell inside the washer and our clothing after we wash them and have to use the extra rinse cycle to get the smell out of our clothes and leave the washer open and let the inside dry out before we close it.

I too was fooled by the sales pitch and now we are stuck with this lemon. My husband will never let me live it down. Samsung should be investigated and fined for the poor quality and overpriced merchandise that they are pawning off on consumers. This product should be held to the same standards as a motor vehicle because you can't pick it up and carry it back to the store. I think it is close to the shell game scam and we the consumer have very little recourse. They should be shut down until they fix their products. I called Samsung and they told me the serial and model numbers were impossible to be removed and that they were permanent. Immediately we noticed the washer very loud and would shake the entire house during the spin cycle and sounded as if an airplane or helicopter heading over the house. We contacted Home Depot and told us we better contact Samsung. We contacted Samsung and they kicked us right back to Home Depot. We went back and forth until we realized neither will help us solve this problem. This went on for over a month with no help other than Home Depot suggested we purchase vibration pads, but there was nothing they could do and same response from Home Depot. So we have been just living with this very loud washing machine and now the spin cycle will not spin at a speed to spin out the water. The timer will be at 6 minutes and then start to spin and go back up to 13 minutes over and over and over.

We again contacted Home Depot and they again say, "No warranty now so contact Samsung." Samsung gave us some links to troubleshoot and none solved the problem and they say, "Not under warranty." Probably the bearings are bad. We have searched for an appliance repair shop in our area and not there are none. We were given a number to call in Los Angeles when we live in WA. Naturally we did not get a response. We called again and the Samsung rep attempted to help, but only found a # in Seattle of a company that no longer exists. There is no solution.

We spent a lot of money and not even within a 2 year period the washing machine will not work on the spin cycle. The only option is to purchase another $1000 machine. We do not understand how this is allowed. There is no solution and as a consumer we are very frustrated. Tomorrow we are forced to purchase another machine, not a Samsung. What other choice do we have when no one is willing to help once they have your money?

I purchased all Samsung appliances for my home between December of 2013 and March of 2014 to the tune of $6,000+ and have never been more sorry about a purchase decision in my life. The absolute worst is the washer. I have the Top Loading model that I see so many people have described the same issue with. The very first day I brought it home, we did a wash and I watched it. The tub hardly turned at all and the clothes were in the same position when the wash was done as they were when it started. We brought it back to the store and they switched it out for another, which was marginally better.

I did not get the extended warranty and through the first year I figured that was just the way the machine worked. Was not happy with it but it was my first machine without an agitator bar so I did not know what to expect. The machine never got my clothes clean and no wonder because it doesn't fill the machine with enough water to cover the clothes and then it moves back and forth so slowly it would be impossible to get anything clean. I could have done my clothes in the bathtub and just swished them around with a broomstick and get more movement.

I've had the machine a little over 2 years and now it's doing the same spin thing that others here have posted. Bridget of Pensacola described it perfectly when she said, "No matter what I did, we would hear this horribly loud knocking during the spin cycle. It was so loud and jerked the washer to the point I thought it was going to blow apart at the seams".

I literally thought the machine would explode. The dc error code would come up. So same as the others, I would redistribute the clothes as best I could, sometimes removing the entire contents of the machine and reloading it, then when you press start again, or 'un-pause' it, rather than returning to the spin it would go from 9 minutes remaining back to 18 and start putting water in again, then get to 9 and same thing, it's in a constant loop. I too tried turning the machine off and doing just the Spin cycle with the same results.

We watched a couple of youtube videos for folks who have this same problem and I've seen them take the machine apart and put foam all around the tub, some used those pool noodles, etc. The last washing machine I purchased was in 1985 and it was a Maytag. That lasted me 30 years, without ever having to be repaired. I only decided to upgrade my appliances to go with all stainless and these looked nice and I THOUGHT I could trust the Samsung name... Wrong!!

After reading these horror stories about attempting to get this machine repaired, I've decided that I'm not going to give myself the headache of going that route. I'm going to write a letter to the president of Samsung and either sell or give this $850 piece of junk to a washing machine repair guy (I would never try to sell it to some poor unsuspecting customer), and go get myself another machine as this one is totally useless now and I cannot even do a wash in it. Do NOT buy this machine. I too will never purchase another product from Samsung. Samsung, you should be ashamed of yourself!

We moved into the house in January 2016, but since that time we were only in residence for 4 months. This week I went to switch over my washing only to find the dock locked and no lights or sounds coming from washing machine. I had an appliance repairman out yesterday. I was told I may need 2 new circuit boards and a new door lock. I understand the machine is no longer under warranty because the warranty starts from the date of purchase, not the date of installation. I contacted Samsung and they just say sorry it's out of warranty.

I find it hard to comprehend that Samsung does not stand by their products. When paying almost $2000 for an appliance I would expect it to last longer than 4 months. I am leery to pay to have them repaired when the apparent quality is so poor. We are a household of 2 and I do at a maximum 4 loads of laundry per week. Using these calculations the washing machine performed 48 loads before breaking. That works out to $34 per load of laundry. The laundromat up the street is only $1.75 per load, a much better value.

I bought this model of washing machine from an online retailer on 24th April 2013. The machine was circa £700 inc delivery, with a supposed 5-year guarantee on the machine, a supposed 10-year guarantee on the direct drive induction motor and a £100 cash-back offer when you register your product within 90 days of purchase. We registered and got the £100 cash-back in the form of a pre-paid Visa card.

The machine was installed correctly and levelled etc. with 1m spirit levels and subsequently had no untoward vibrations no matter what the cycle or load was. The machine has had light use with a family of 3 males, 1x 52-year-old, 1x 12-year-old and 1x 6-year-old with 1-2 regular washes per week. On 15th July 2016, the machine developed an intermittent fault with the LCD panel reporting "Motor Error 3E"... The machine successfully finished this cycle and then completely failed and locked up on the next light "Daily wash" cycle. I rang Samsung UK Customer Support on 20th July 2016, they took the model and serial numbers of my machine and they said there was some ambiguity about my machine and they weren't sure it was covered under guarantee, someone would investigate and call me back within 24-48 hours! Nobody did!

I had to leave it a week due to work commitments so I rang them again on the 27th July 2016 only to talk to a customer services agent who you couldn't understand when she spoke and just seemed completely nonchalant that I'd now got 2 weeks washing building up and no progress. She re-took the model and serial number of the machine. She then stated Samsung didn't have any service agents in the North West of England (Blackpool, Lancashire) and that according to their computer system, the machine hadn't been registered (although it must have been for us to receive our 100 cash-back!) and that the machine wasn't covered under the Samsung 5 & 10-year warranty, although there are two huge stickers on my machine stating the machine has a 5 & 10-year guarantees respectively.

At the time of purchase, this was a top of the range machine from Samsung and I made the point that a £700 machine should not break down after 3 years of light domestic use. I also argued that the machine did have a 5 and 10-year guarantee at time of purchase and that the machine had been registered or how else would we have received the £100 cash-back. In short, they didn't want to know! I have Googled the "Motor Error 3E" and it appears to be a very common fault! This machine and other direct drive induction motor machines are horrendously unreliable.

The Customer Care is pathetic! I will never buy anything Samsung again, including their mobiles "et al", they just are not a reputable company!... As for washing machines and other white goods, look elsewhere for quality goods, clearly this machine is made of cheap parts, badly designed and engineered, and they are sold as an expensive premier machines. Customer Services in the UK at least, are just appalling! After contacting several service engineers within North West England, I am struggling to get anyone to see if they can repair it. As soon as they know it is a "Samsung" they don't want to know! Says it all really doesn't it!

About 5 days later and 2 missed days of work my washer was fixed. Now 1 year and 2 months later my washer seemed to go out of balance suddenly. I would have to take about half the load out to get it to spin. I started trying to get a repair on it. No callback. Then it just kept getting worse.

Finally after 2 weeks and down to spin 4 pieces at a time. Any more than that it would beat the sides of the washer and go back to 17 minutes from 9. I found a website from Samsung that said to put foam around the tub so I did. No luck. Call Samsung again and they told me I needed to calibrate and told me how. So I tried. No luck. Called back and they said they would get me a service tech at my expense and I would get a call back in 14 to 48 hours to set an appointment.

About 36 hours later I received a call that they no longer had service people in Kentucky/Indiana area and I would have to deal with this myself. I talked with the girl for a bit and she said, "I don't know what you want me to do. You're not the only one with this problem and we do not have the answer. I think you would be better off buying a new washer." So I said, "Are you telling me this is a common problem?" And she said to check out this site for reviews. Here I am. Too late for me I just purchased a new Kenmore. Hope this help. Save someone else.

The delivery company contacted me about 2 months ago to inform me they were looking for a local repairman to come and check the machine. I never heard anything from them again. Last week, I contacted Samsung again to inquire about the delivery company. At that point, the Rep informed me that Samsung was prepared to offer me a full refund on the washer. They followed that up with a couple emails outlining the specific steps I have to take in order to get my refund. Although I am unhappy that I have had to deal with this for the last 10 months, I am glad that Samsung is taking responsibility and offering the refund. I won't go as far as saying I'm satisfied with my experience as a whole, but I am at least satisfied that I won't have to be out the money for this washer.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WASHER. I purchased the Samsung 4.0 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - Model #WA40J3000AW. From Day 1, I had trouble with loads getting unbalanced. I thought I was doing something wrong at first, since I was used to having an agitator, and this one doesn't have one. I tried every way possible to load a washer - in a doughnut fashion; not in a doughnut; towels by themselves; small loads, large loads. I did what the manual said. No matter what I did, we would hear this horribly loud knocking during the spin cycle. It was so loud and jerked the washer to the point I thought it was going to blow apart at the seams. We would pause the load, open the lid, and everything would be on one side (or not - didn't always happen that way). We would have to rearrange everything inside and restart.

Oftentimes we got an error message indicating it was off balanced. Then we heard a constant clicking sound during the spin cycle like something was hitting the inside of the machine when it spinned. Then it wouldn't go into the spin cycle. My first call to Samsung resulted in someone who could BARELY speak English telling me it was because I used the wrong detergent! She had no idea what detergent I used because she never asked. I told her it was not the detergent and I wanted to speak to someone else. She then said they would send a repairman. Long story short, over the next month, they had to send the repairmen three times. Once to install some type of dampener, the next to unstick a button on the panel and to "professionally level the machine". The next time they came out they said it wasn't level (hmm - same people that leveled it two weeks prior).

The next phone call to Samsung resulted in them saying they would replace the machine. Finally. Well, my victory was short-lived. I've had my replacement washer about a month and guess what? It is doing the exact same thing with not staying balanced. I have it on a ceramic tiled floor. It is level. We have had it checked - three times. I decided to do an internet search and I find many other people with the same complaint. I also see you Tube videos of this machine doing the exact same thing as mine.

I called Samsung again today and rehashed my whole story. Now they say that since the same thing is happening to this one, it must be my floor. They are sending the DELIVERY COMPANY (that brought me my replacement) out to make sure it is installed correctly. Seriously. I told them it has nothing to do with my floor. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fact it is a poor quality product. I am a very unhappy Samsung customer. I will NEVER purchase another Samsung Product. Ever.

On 4/30/16 I purchased a Samsung WA52J8700AW/A2 washer along with a matching dryer from HHGregg in Southaven, MS. The washer and dryer were delivered and installed by H.H. Gregg. The second day water was noted on the floor of the laundry room. I called HHGregg and they came out the next day. The washer was found to have a non-repairable water leak and the washer was replaced with a new unit. The new washer emitted a God awful growling/vibrating sound when it was going into the spin cycle and during the spin cycle. I called Samsung and they sent out a repairman. He replaced the recycle pump and sensor. I call the repair company and the repairman came out again. He said that the drain pump is pumping air and there is nothing he can do.

Consumer Reports rate the washer as top of the line and very quiet. I was very dissatisfied with a washer that listed for just under $1000.00. I called Samsung again and expressed my dissatisfaction. They had the repairman come out again and he replaced the drain pump. Well, it still makes the same growling/vibrating sound. I have tried to file a complaint with Samsung about their top of the line washer, but it's like a dog chasing its tail. I commend them for sending out the repairman and replacing the parts, but their top of the line washer shouldn't be making these ungodly sounds. I would like to have this washer replaced. I will be calling SAMSUNG's corporate office and ask for help.

First, a minor problem, but one that should not happen with an over $800 machine. The bleach dispenser will rust all around it. I mean it is a rust fountain, starts at the tray and creeps down the side. I think it gets some rust on clothing but it has not been a huge issue. Also, I don't use the bleach dispenser because I don't think it clears the bleach. Some bleach is left in it and will disperse on clothing in a later wash.

The biggest problem is the time I waste trying to get a load to complete. It will randomly get stuck on the spin cycle and I have spent hours adjusting the clothes to get it to spin them dry. After it starts with the failed noise, I turn it to just spin so I can get the clothes dry enough for the dryer. Watching it while it tries to spin so I can catch it before it starts adding more water. Why have an option to just spin if it's just going to fill back up with water. I really hate it. It looks like you can wash large things or large loads but I don't recommend it because you will get stuck in the cycle of trying to get the machine to complete a load. I would not recommend purchasing. I am right at the 3 year mark, my extended warranty is gone and I feel like there are some major expenses coming in repairs. Why can't they make washing machines like they used to? I just want it to work. To wash the clothes, to do the job I bought it to do.

Even after adjusting the load or removing heavier items it will continue this for hours. We have to removing soaking wet items and wring them out manually. I bought my Samsung washer depending on the Samsung name to stand for good quality. It has been horrible. You cannot leave the washer to run on its own because it constantly goes off balance and fills to the brim with water. Then you have to shut it off and do a Spin load which is 12 minutes. At 9 minutes it suddenly switches to 17 minutes and starts filling with water. If you don't stop it and rearrange multiple times, you will never finish the load. I usually have to take out half the stuff and spin each half and then put the dripping other half back in and spin it some more. Even that does not always work. It can takes hours to do a single load of laundry.

Calling the Samsung Support number gets you an explanation on how to Recalibrate the washer, but it does not work. Then you call back and they offer to send out a service tech at the owners expense since the 10 Year warranty is only for the motor. What a joke! It has "10 Year Warranty" on the front of the washer but it is worthless. I have had my washer less than 4 years. After spending $800 on a washer you expect it to last several years. I had much better luck with my last washer that I bought used for less than $200 and it lasted over 10 years.

Yes I did have a warranty plan but it took about 7 weeks between ordering parts and getting installed. No washer 7 weeks. If had not had the warranty I would have just purchased another washer, at this point not a Samsung.

2 weeks after getting the washer repaired, the dryer quit. Code on it explained heating element was gone. We ordered a new heating element and installed it. Still did not work. Disposed of and purchased new whirlpool dryer. The next day the washer would not stop pumping water in. Newly painted floor ruined and everything in basement soaking wet. So we are currently waiting for parts on washer again, probably another month before repaired. No washer again.

Now today my Dishwasher is about 2 years old and it has stopped working. Probably means new one as by the time we pay a technician and for parts, plus the wait to get it repaired it, it is really not worth the cost to repair. So here we are shopping for the new dishwasher and it will not be Samsung. That brand has caused enough stress, waiting for repairs and money for me. This is the most costly rip-off I have ever experienced. After 14 years our trusty old GE washer stopped pouring hot water. My wife and I decided to upgrade to one of the new awesome digital washer and dryer that we've seen advertised so often. We went with the Samsung top load washer and dryer. What an epic mistake! Just after the 4th load our dryer would not work on Regular Cycle and we had to use time dry only. That was a red flag but we didn't pursue repair. We had also noticed that basic stains were not being cleaned off our clothes and they didn't smell as fresh as our old W&D made the clothes smell. How disappointing! We spent $1400 on the pair but it doesn't stop there.

Now 13 months after purchase our washer no longer has a strong Cleaning Cycle. Instead it chugs back and forth slowly and pauses every 30 seconds. This pause also stops the clock so when the cycle starts at 1 hour it takes closer to 2.5 hours. We have been ripped off by a trusted company! SAMSUNG has ripped us off and it sounds like they are doing it to others too. This means they are aware of their faulty product and it sounds like us consumers may have a Class Action Lawsuit on our hands. A consultation may be in my forecast. And just imagine. A service repairman told us (while replacing the boards in our Samsung dryer after 2.5 years) that it was an issue with the washer and Samsung had redesigned them but would do nothing to help with our issue. We tried to prolong the issue by putting porcelain paint around the dispenser, but that started showing rust staining and now it has eaten through the metal in a couple locations. Contacted Samsung support, which is a joke. The first person to respond said they didn't have a record of my product being registered. I provided all the model, serial number, and purchase information again. The next person gave me a sales pitch on how Samsung has 'world class products' and an explanation of how rust is formed.

The respondent tells me they "have check the information in our database and there are no reported issues with this washer model." I believe a simple Google search, this website, and the reviews on Amazon would say otherwise. I was then told that rust is considered "cosmetic damage" and is not covered by warranty. How can it be cosmetic damage if it is inside the washing machine and around a designed functional component we have never used? I know I will never be owning another Samsung product, nor will I be recommending one to anyone. There is no reason a washing machine, which is supposed to be designed for repeated exposure to water and chemicals, should be rusting out this bad so quickly. I purchased this washing machine brand because the manager of the Canandaigua, NY Lowe's Appliance department touted its outstanding qualities in comparison to other front loaders. Unfortunately, after using it for one day, I completely disagreed with the Lowe's manager. A new one was delivered a week later (annoying), but there was no difference, with the exception of the dents that came with the first washer. The first issue (remains) the 'racking' of the washer when I put it on high spin, which I never do anymore because my whole house vibrates! The high spin is supposed to be a quality of this machine, as it reduces drying time. I went on-line to query what other Samsung washing machine owners have experienced and found that I was not alone with this problem.

One Samsung washing machine owner used boat bumpers to stabilize the machine when it was spinning and walking all over the floor. I have done that (on both sides!) and it does help. When they saw the bumpers, the Lowe's manager and delivery persons agreed that I should not have to do this... Duh! By the way, the machine is perfectly balanced (I made sure of that by breaking out my level while the delivery person was at my home). Additionally, the Samsung front loading machine is NOT ergonomically designed, as it is very difficult to remove clothes from the washing barrel. Finally, the bleach dispenser does not work properly, as it dispenses the bleach undiluted into the washing barrel (completely ruining several items). I caution anyone thinking of purchasing a Samsung front load washing machine 3.6 cu ft.

I explained to him that nothing else had been changed and could he go ahead and fix the issue that Samsung had agreed to repair. He took pictures and sent them to Samsung and waited for their response. After a couple of days Samsung told me that they were going to fix my machine. I have been waiting now since April. From my understanding of the Samsung customer services department, this is a known problem with Samsung washer. Who could we contact, regarding issues such as this, like car manufacturers have recalled on parts after many years. Someone needs to be responsible for matters. It is a known fact, and it has happened to many washers after three years or less?

I am putting out money that I do not have, going to the laundry mat. They want me to have someone out to my house to get an estimate on the damage in the basement, but I can not afford to have someone out here, and Samsung refuses to pay them. As a consumer, we should have some rights after supporting and purchasing these goods from manufacturers that promise we are getting the best and putting a seal of approval on how reliable their product is. Can someone help me, please?

I bought a Samsung 4.5 HE washer and given a stinky cash register receipt for an appliance purchase plus salesperson charged me for the most expensive hook up hose without asking which one I wanted. I changed it to the $15.99 one. I don't like the service plus the documents given at time of purchase. Then on top of this, the delivery men stole the (red/blue) hoses I bought and installed the black hose which I just noticed several days later. I guess they thought I wouldn't notice. They called me 20 minutes before delivery, the day of delivery which was about 9:30 am. They were in and out of here in about 15 minutes like they were in a hurry. They went to the wrong apartment banging on the door through the garage which made the people think they were being robbed.

I called and spoke with an assistant manager on June 4th about this sloppy service. He could tell me about taping the receipt to the back of the washer. He just made excuses. A customer should be handed an invoice for the purchase, delivery instructions and return policy. Don't buy a Samsung washer. It doesn't spin the clothes as good as my old washer which is 20 yrs. old. I'm not buying a new washer and have to have it repaired within a few days. I will never buy this type of item without proper documents. The customer signs for delivery but does not get a copy of anything. What kind of raggedy service is this?

Our Samsung washer was 3 years old in May. A few months ago my husband and I noticed that around the bleach tray it was starting to rust. We called Samsung. On my husband's initial call they said "sure, let's set up service!" The call was disconnected on their end. The second call they said "You're out of warranty." We told her we just spoke to someone and they said it was no problem. They said they had no record. Then they said "we can help you with the part, but you'll have to pay labor." "Okay, better than nothing". Call disconnected AGAIN. Called for the THIRD time and they said "hope, no warranty, not our problem". No joke.

Now it's June and I didn't waste my energy calling Samsung. Our spin cycle keeps getting thrown off so I schedule Sears Repair Service. The tech comes out and says the suspension rods are bad. All 4 of them. Over $300 for the repair. Fantastic tech and great service but no thank you. He also advised that Samsung has no interest in taking care of their customers. Now today, my husband picked up the parts for the rods and took the washer apart. The photo here will show you our 3 year old bleach tray. They provide you the ability to use bleach but don't use any type of anti-corrosive material to prevent the bleach from rusting the machine. I'm not an expert but if a washer costs me over $800, maybe they should make sure these things won't happen? Maybe cover them if they do? The moral of my story - I highly suggest you stay away from Samsung products. We will never buy Samsung products again.

Washer model WA400p - Bought this model washing machine May 2013. It now breaks down only 3 years later in June 2016. Spewing grease all over the clothes that were currently being washed. Before the grease incident, already was having problems with mold periodically appearing all over clothes after they were in the wash, which had to be washed again and again to remove mold. Mom did research and saw that other people were having this same problem with the very same model, as there is a design flaw that causes a standing reservoir of stagnant water to accumulate under the drum that can't be reached, where mold can thrive.

After grease incident Ma called their customer service, was met with a rude snotty service agent who acted irritated to be tasked with our problems, asking questions about what we were doing to our clothes before the wash in a way that made it seem like they were suggesting we were the reason why this machine is spewing grease from its internal machinery all over our clothes. Finally tells us "I'll send someone out to look at it but you will probably have to pay for it." Mom tells her of the 10 year warranty. "Oh that's just for replacing parts." Um what else is there? When your washer is spewing its own machinery grease into the wash isn't that a sign parts need to be replaced? lol. Will never buy another Samsung product again, washer or otherwise. Lately the front loading washer has been making a very loud noise when it spins, so I scheduled a Samsung repair man out to fix the problem. He said it was the bearing and the cost of repair was at least $500, warrantied for 90 days, and there might be other problems once he opens it up. His advice was to buy another washer. I asked him why washers don't last for 20 years like the old Maytags, and he said "no one makes good ones anymore." I suppose this is a new business model to sell more appliances, but it must be wreaking havoc on the environment. I don't want to buy a new appliance, but I don't know what the solution is. We purchased this washer 2 years ago for $800, and have been dealing with the same problem for the last year. During the spin cycle, it will bang loudly at the 7 minute mark, then fill with water and this cycle continues. Majority of the time, I have to wring out the clothes and towels, just to get them to dry somewhat quicker (still takes about 3 hours to dry and towels come out smelling moldy and starchy feeling). Made 3 calls to customer service. Last attempt was this morning and after getting to a supervisor, was told that they would "call for someone to repair" but would not cover the costs incurred. Seems that this problem is universal. In fact there are "How To" videos on the web to try and remedy this problem.

I've had washing machines that were 30 years old that worked better than this poor excuse for an appliance. Samsung does nothing to correct these issues. They just take our hard earned money and we are expected to shell out hundreds of dollars for a problem that obviously needs to be recalled. I spoke with an attorney's office this morning and she said to check around to see if there was a class action lawsuit pending? Or maybe all of us should consider this. I am absolutely infuriated with Samsung and their lack of customer service. I will never buy any of their products again and I will let everyone I know what garbage their products are! Tub hose failed at 2 years 6 months, causing massive flood. Now machine won't complete a full cycle without unbalance error. Tub support dampers need to be replaced with superseded part number (that replaces the defective originals). Quick search online reveals countless others with the same problems. We spent over $1600 on a Samsung Washer and Dryer. We are retired and on a fixed income but used our money for what we thought would be a top line set. Two months after our one year warranty ran out, our washer started shaking when it would spin. Then it continually kept recycling and never finished the cycle. I called the store we bought it from and was told they would send a representative out to check it out. I was told parts would have to be ordered and it would take around $350 to repair it plus the cost of the first trip to see what was wrong. I contacted Samsung and after an hour of "negotiating" with the representative they agreed to extend my warranty and cover parts and labor. They contacted a store that had certified repairman as evidently the store where we purchased the set didn't have a certified Samsung repairman.

When the certified technician called me he said he knew exactly what the problem was as he had already worked on several of the machines that had the same problem as ours. The repairs were made and the machine worked great for 3 months. Then it started doing the same thing again. We contacted Samsung and after talking to 3 representatives that couldn't have cared less what we were going through were told by all three that the warranty was out but they would send a technician out and fix the problem but it would be at our cost and if it was decided that the problem was with the washer they would "maybe" try to accommodate us by POSSIBLY pay for the parts IF it was their problem.

I asked them why would I couldn't afford to have this piece of junk fixed every 4 months. I was also told that they had no complaints on record of problems like we were having. WHAT A LIE!!! I suggested they look up customers reviews on their product, told them I wanted to talk to someone in the executive office and was told someone would call me back between 24 and 48 hours. That times has now passed and we still have received no call. We wound up paying another $850 on a new Speed Queen washer. Our $1000 washer was hauled off to the junkyard by the store that brought our new Speed Queen. If I hadn't already had to spend so much money on the two washers, I would hire an attorney and sue Samsung. Like I said I have teens, they don't like to clean their room but when they do they have to wash everything. My machines have taken some serious abuse. All I do is keep the filter cleaned out every 2 weeks and disassemble the lint cartridge once a year to clean it all out. One thing to make sure of with these machines is that they are properly grounded. As an electrician I have seen so many problems on these machines and various other electronics from poor grounds... i.e. no earth ground or the ground rod clamp has loosened over time, or whoever wired it put the hot and neutral wires on the wrong side (110v washer) of the receptacle. The dryers tend to have more problems with poor grounding since it is a 220 volt.

My children (and wife) pack it to the max and all I have had to do besides maintenance is replace a front door seal. Just for the record my machines are not in a climate controlled environment. I live in Houston where it gets pretty humid. Just wanted to put it out there about the electrical part of it. No one seems to think about that part of it.

The hot water coming from my water heater is set at 140 degrees. I purge the faucet right next to the washing machine of cold water, by letting it run to full hot so that the machine is instantly able to get hot water. I have followed all of the owners manual and Samsung Support instructions for resolving this issue. The water temperature, as measured by a normal meat thermometer and an infrared thermometer is 72 degrees, when I have "normal cycle - hot water" selected! That is 21 degrees COLDER than specs. Samsung support says that the target water temperature for this unit, on that cycle, is 93 degrees.

I made sure that the reason for below spec water temp was not merely an issue with the quantity of water the machine uses, by pre-wetting the clothes with hot water. This fools the machine into using the maximum amount of water for that load. The machine agitates the dry clothes in the first few seconds of the cycle to determine the weight, and then dispenses water and sets the length of the cycle accordingly. I am currently dealing with Samsung on this issue. But after 5 repair visits, and no solution, it's up to them to make it right.

There are 2 simple but time-consuming solutions to this problem. 1) If you have a sink in your laundry room like I do, install an on-off garden hose splitter on the faucet, then connect a short garden hose to one side. The splitter allows the sink to be used and water to be put in the washing machine. Pre-wet the clothes by hosing them down with hot water when they are in the machine. Start your washing machine as you normally would. Once the machine begins to dispense water into the tub (allow enough time to dispense all the detergent from the cup), hit the pause button. When to door unlocks, use your garden hose to fill the tub up with hot water, then close the lid and resume the cycle. Be careful! There is a sensor in the machine that will automatically drain the water out if you overfill it. So you'll have to experiment to find that point, and fill to just below that.

The #2 solution: Install 2 hand valves with splitters and a bypass hose, so that if you want hot water wash, the valves can switched to allow only hot water into the "hot" intake, as well as the "cold" intake. The washer only dispenses water by volume. It does not measure the incoming temperature, so if you have hot coming into both connections on the back of the machine, you will have a hot wash. I have performed both of these, they both work. I chose the garden hose fill method because it was physically easier to perform. I set a timer on my phone so it fills to just where it won't auto-drain. When the timer beeps, I shut off the hose, close the lid, and I have a hot water wash.

We recently scrapped our 3-year old Samsung washer and dryer due to the high cost of prospective repairs. The drum on the washer went defective and even though only 30 days out of warranty Samsung declined to stand behind it so it was more cost effective to replace the washer than fix it. The problem was that every load went into UE error, which is unbalanced load. Since it's only my wife and I, and we are seniors, we do not have large laundry loads, so why would it wear out so soon? Samsung's customer service was completely disinterested in discussing the matter of the washer tub since it was out of warranty. We tried on both their phone line and by email. Email was most frustrating since it was obviously answered from offshore and they didn't seem to have read or understood the complaint.

The dryer had been repaired under warranty with replacement of the main circuit board and went defective again in the exact same way after warranty so knowing the replacement cost of that board and given the experience with the washer we elected to replace that as well. Since this was all a $1600+ decision, it was not taken lightly! Read the reviews on the internet. Normally I take them with a grain of salt figuring every product has a problem now and again, but in this case it seems to be true in general and was a very expensive mistake on our part! So my recommendation is do not purchase Samsung laundry products. You will probably regret it in the long run.

I cannot recommend Samsung appliances. Love the TVs. They should stick to electronics and stay out of consumer appliances. I owned a refrigerator and the plastic guides in the ice-maker actually continually broke off pieces of plastic that ended up in your glass when you dispensed ice. It was dangerous. Now I own this piece of junk washing machine I paid $650 for less than two years ago. It is a large-capacity 5cf washer, but if you put too much heavy clothing in there (e.g., denim jeans plus some bath towels), it seems it cannot figure out how much clothing it is supposed to wash, and so it just keeps running water.

I don't know what it is doing with the water, because it must be draining it back out as it fills. It does not run over, but it just never washes. This has happened several times, and the only solution is that I have to change over to the spin cycle, drain all the water, and pull out half the laundry and start over. I think this relates to a fault in the weight sensor. If the weight is too high, the controller must go berserk.

When I contacted them for support, they said that I had overloaded. It is a 5cf washer. They should consider that somebody might put 5cf of jeans and towels in there. Does not seem unreasonable to me. Sometimes it will start washing and the cycle will go on for two hours. I cannot even figure out what it is doing most of the time. I do know it wastes a lot of water, in spite of being supposedly Energy Star rated.

The only cycle that actually seems to work is the Quick Wash. The Normal Cycle goes nuts and runs too long. Most of the time I cannot wash on Hot. It will give me an error that essentially says it cannot get enough hot water, even though the water in my place is so hot it can scald your flesh. (I live in an apartment and do not have control over the hot water setting, in case you wonder.)

The LCD display has also given out so that half the digits are not displayed properly. As a result, you can never tell how much time is left on the cycle. But that is only covered by a 1-year warranty, even though there is a big sticker still on the front of the washer that says "10-Year Warranty". That only applies to the motor. From my experience and that of others on this thread, they won't have to honor the 10-year warranty on the motor, because nothing else will work by then. It is completely impossible to exert any manual control over this washer. Once a cycle has started, you cannot change anything such as temperature. If you throw some laundry in to soak, then you cannot add more laundry later and continue washing, because it will not add more water.

I don't really know what motivated me to buy this. I guess the salesman was good. Mother always believed in buying the simplest appliances--completely manual, no fancy cycles and no fancy electronics--because then there was less to break. I will keep that in mind next time. I see a number of people comparing Samsung to GE. I don't think that is much of a comparison. I have had a number of GE appliances over the years (they came with rentals) and without exception, they were the worst junk I had to deal with. Ovens that could not control temperature within 50 degrees, refrigerators that froze all the food regardless of how you set the control, washing machine that danced all over the room with even a light load.

In fact, as an engineer in the energy industry, I will say that I think everything GE makes is junk except their aircraft engines. Their light bulbs are even junk. From a number of conversations, my sense is that Maytag remains the best for washing machines. That will be my next purchase, unless somebody tells me they have gone downhill, too.

I purchased a Samsung front-loading washer and dryer set and within 4 months I had a problem with the washer. I got the 5e error code and proceeded to follow the instructions to drain the machine and clear the filter. That did not resolve the issue. I called Samsung to schedule a repair. They sent out a repair technician who took a look at the washer and insisted that we put cat food in the washer therefore voided the warranty because we used it improperly. I argued with a supervisor at Samsung to no avail as they go by what the technician says. I bought an extended warranty at Home Depot so I called them - they won't cover anything that the manufacturer won't cover so I am out a washer and I haven't finished paying for it. What a crock - no one stands behind their products any more yet they charge a fortune for them and you pay for an extended warranty which is crap.

My WF410ANW/XAA washer started making a grinding noise during the spin cycles. Disassembly revealed the problem was a leaking rear seal on the drum. Water corroded the flange shaft assembly and the bearings were damaged. It is beyond belief a washing machine would have this serious a failure after being used for a maximum of three loads per week for five years. The cost to obtain repair parts was exceptionally high. As a result I purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer as replacements and will never purchase Samsung laundry products again.

My Samsung washing machine purchased 7/18/13 is a piece of junk. It is rusting in and out, the tub is fraying and shredding off. It now will not stop washing clothes, it just keeps running and running, the "spin" only cycle will not allow the clothes to spin. I would never buy another Samsung product of any kind. I have sent pictures to Samsung and although they said I would have a response within 4-6 hours, 24 hours later I have heard nothing. I paid $718 for this trash at Home Depot and cannot get any kind of help. DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG.

Being a district manager with 110 employees and a 1-800 numbers for my customers to call I really never do these complaints. But I must say that the Samsung washing machines have to be by far the worse purchase we have ever made. I only wish I had read the reviews. Everything they state in the past complaints are true. Machine starts knocking, then starts not spinning, then starts error codes and then ultimately just stops. We haven't even had them for two years. Not to mention the rust that started within the 1st year. Please take my advice and DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON SAMSUNG WASHERS!!!

I purchased a Samsung washer & dryer set for my daughter and I in 2013 and the washer have given us both the same issues. The washer won't spin out during the spin cycle. It will start spinning, and then start wobbling from side to side, then rock, bounce, and shake VERY HARD! Then it shuts down and start refilling with water all over again. This repeats at least 6-7 times no matter what size load you put in. This washer needs to be discontinued IMMEDIATELY! It's rusting all around the bleach dispenser and it doesn't clean laundry either. My clothes used to smell so fresh and clean with my old washer. Now I can't smell my fabric softener or laundry detergent. The dryer is no better. PEOPLE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON SAMSUNG APPLIANCES!!!

We bought a Samsung Model WF218ANW/XAA 01 front load washing machine 6 years ago. Recently something started burning inside so we shut it down. Repair man told us front gasket, basket and bearings needed replaced and would cost more than a new machine. Called Samsung and was transferred to their "Executive Customer Relations Department."

When I described the problem and asked why their machine only lasted 6 years they were unable to give me an answer. My last machine lasted 20 years. I will never buy another Samsung product again. Samsung has no interest in helping customers and do not stand behind their products. I subsequently found several customer complaints in this forum that sounded very familiar down to the lack of interest on part of Samsung to stand behind their product.

On April 18, 2015, I purchased the Samsung 4.5 cu ft washer from Lowe's. From day one, the washer never washed clothes very well. It doesn't have an agitator (get a washer with agitator)! Within 5 months I changed washing liquid 3 times because the clothes don't smell fresh. As a matter of fact, the clothes have an odor. On April 2, 2016, I called Lowe's for service because of a loud noise and the odor. Lowe's said if they couldn't find a technician within 3 days of my call, they would have to give me another machine. I live in a rural area. I purchased an extended warranty from Lowe's. Lowe's contacted Samsung because the washer was still under manufacturer's warranty. The first technician wouldn't come because I lived too far and I had to call the technician myself to find that out, 4 days after my initial call. After which I told Samsung they needed to pick up the machine since the technician wouldn't come.

On April 9, I was told Samsung needed a copy of my receipt to find another technician. I scanned the receipt and then had to call them back to arrange for someone to come out. I had to take off my job because the service company's window of repair was 8-5pm on April 21, 2016. Yes, that long to get service. The A&E tech came at 10am but said they couldn't find anything wrong with the motor and couldn't do anything about the odor but I could wash smaller loads (wash towels together, shirts together, jeans together, etc). I said so much for saving energy (electricity bill will be higher). The machine already has to run an average of 70 minutes on a cycle to "clean" effectively and for stains, I have to spray and scrub really hard to basically get the stain out by hand first. Very poor washer. Don't buy it. It's just "pretty" and that's all. It doesn't get the job done. I will never buy another Samsung washer.

It started making a loud clanking noise in the spin cycle that sounds like a jet airplane engine. It took 2 months for Samsung to locate a company in my area to come and work on it. In late December they replaced the clutch actuator. In mid-February I had same problem and they replaced the clutch assembly. Now the beginning of May and it sounds awful again. Do NOT buy this washer.

Samsung HE VRT Washer Model WF330ANW. About two weeks ago, the washer started to make a loud noise during the spin cycle. The noise/vibration continued to get louder. Washer started to shake as well. I started to research online the cause for this noise/vibration - turns out I was not the only Samsung owner to have this issue. Apparently due to faulty materials/design, the "spider" bracket dissolves and breaks causing the basket to spin off centered. The basket is made of stainless steel - the spider bracket that attaches the basket to the drive is the issue.

Of course we purchased the extended warranty which expired 7 months ago. Estimated cost of repair - approximately $500.00. Was told might as well buy a new washer. A washer that cost about $1000 should last more than 5.5 years. Please do yourself a favor - research common issues with the brand of washer you wish to purchase prior to purchasing. Unfortunately in 2010 when we bought this washer - we did not have many negative reviews. Everything I read about the new style of washers points me to the Speed Queen Washer.

I bought our Samsung front load washing machine WF42H5200AW/A2 Washer at Home Depot on Saturday night (Jan 16, 2016), and was told to expect a phone call by Tuesday about delivery date & time. Sunday, I received an email from Samsung confirming the order, and then Home Depot called me on Monday to arrange delivery & set up. The machine arrived on time on Friday & installed in a jiffy.

Everything seemed to work fine, but at week #3 got error message 40 minutes into the wash time every time we used the delicate cycle! Not just once but 4 times in a row! We called for service, and due to a busy schedule on our side, it took 4 days before repair person could arrange to visit us. They figured out the problem in 15 minutes -- the red & white knobs on our Hot and Cold water taps had been reversed, and the installation people did not test the water taps! Repair person waited for Delicate wash to go to the same point as in previous problems to make sure everything was fixed.

Our Samsung Washing Machine has been working perfectly fine ever since! We have used the machine for 2 months now without a hitch. ONLY DESIGN PROBLEM worth noting -- the pull out drawer for loading Detergent, fabric softener & bleach does not pull out far enough to really pour in bleach without splashing! And as you push the drawer back in, it hits a small bump, and can splash more bleach!

Because my local water supply (Keizer, Oregon) has relatively high levels of both manganese and iron, I have to use "laundry bluing" to get out a dingy gradual dinginess of water hardness that is most noticeable on 100% white cottons (particularly bed linens & underwear). But laundry bluing is extremely concentrated liquid, requiring only 4 to 8 drops for an entire load of laundry. Even when I diluted bluing with 4 ounces of water, before using the bluing in a secondary wash (loading it into the detergent side), it STILL LEFT BLUE BLOTCHES all over my white cotton laundry. Those blotches did not come out even after IMMEDIATELY re-washing just the items with the blue blotches. This was never a problem in a top loading washing machine, where I can open the lid at any time, regardless of how much water or clothing are in the machine. But that option just does not exist in a front loader!

During the 3 months that we have owned this machine (running 4 or more loads per week), we never received the warning sign on the panel about having to run the machine through a self-cleaning cycle. But I did pull out the trap at the bottom of the machine on the 3 month anniversary (on my own schedule, NOT because of any warning note from the machine). I was expecting to see another mangled lottery ticket (common item that my partner forgets to pull out of his pockets when he launders his jeans), but there was NO SIGN of anything fuzzing up the works.

It is helpful to have a light nearby on the front of the machine when you empty it out, as the spin dry works really well, and clothing can be stuck ANYWHERE in the drum, out of sight. You have to move the drum around, and check EVERY CORNER to make sure small things like socks or handkerchiefs are not stuck behind. This machine's spin dry works so well, that Samsung's low spin is equivalent to a "regular spin" speed on my old top loading machine! Samsung's high spin does a great job of wringing nearly every drop of water. Overall, I give this 5 stars!

We have owned a set for just over a year. The washer rusted at the bleach dispenser after about 9 months. And now the whole computer panel has to be replaced. We can buy a new Whirlpool or GE for less than it will take to replace that panel, and we still will have a huge rust spot. Usually our appliances last about 10 years. What a waste of money. The dryer sensors do not allow us to fully dry some clothes. I will never buy another Samsung appliance.
