Bought a Samsung Washer last October from Lowe's, Model #WA45H7000. This is my 3rd washer in 10 years and I did my homework and researched online and even checked with the Consumers Report (which by the way was rated #1 by them). Well suffice to say a year later and this washer keeps giving me a 4E error message non-stop and I have done everything in the manual and checked online and I still keep getting an error message.

Now the fun part - contacting Samsung. Be prepared to get right pissed off and be treated like you're the ** not the washer! I have been dealing with them for a week+ and was promised a service call and it has been 5 days and no service call... That is what I call outstanding service and every time you phone they put you on hold and then cut you off! I did purchase the extended warranty but what the outcome of this nightmare will be... I don't know!! So save your $$$ and don't buy a Samsung or LG. I have learnt the hard way.

After reading the numerous negatives about Samsung washers, and televisions, it is clearly an evident that they've intentionally selling this poor quality stuff and faulty products. Please write Costco, Sam's Club, Lowe's, Home Depot and demand they stop selling Samsung appliances and electronics. I bought my Samsung WA422 washer from Home depot on December 28, 2012. Regardless of small or medium load, I will constantly getting an error message DC code. This is a design problem and clearly showed Samsung is well aware of DC code (unbalance). I bought my Samsung UN55 television from Costco on August 2011. It went completely died. Only red power light is blinking red.

I have called on both matters to Samsung executives. They couldn't care less. I have received the worst customer service and heartless representatives. They wanted to charged $75 for coming down and $225 to fix my washer and $300 to fix my television. This is a joke. Poor quality, worst customer service, and heartless representatives. Please don't buy Samsung products. I would think that a television and washer would last for at least 5 years especially these symptoms were a known issue.

Bought a washer and dryer set from Lowes in July 2014. Started having problems with washer in August of this year. Detergent tray started holding water and dripping into drum, then it froze up with a code which turned out to be problem with motherboard. Called them and of course it was 1 month out of warranty. They sent out a repairman at the tune of $180.00. He said I needed a new detergent drawer and the computer board. But what I found strange was when he told me that, they know they have a problem with these parts but will not issue a recall! They installed the computer board and the new drawer, the board is still working fine but the new drawer does the same thing! Never buy another one.

This washer does not clean anything. Period. There is very little water, no agitator, nothing to clean our clothes. There should be a recall on all of the agitatorless washers. I see there is a lot of complaints on these washers. When will something be done about them? Oh by the way it is only 5 months old and already a piece of garbage. Never buy an agitatorless washer or you will feel the pain also.

All these items were under recall for serial number #799999 and below but these defective machines must have gone out without being repaired. Sears technician came to home, explained situation and I had to fight with Samsung to get parts and labor covered. Over 3 weeks now and Samsung has not scheduled the proper repairs. Very disappointed, many many frustrating phone calls to Samsung. Will NEVER purchase any Samsung product again.

I purchased an Energy Efficient washer WA48H7400AW in June 2015. The result - the clothes are coming out unclean (and smell, look and feel unwashed) and my water usage has increased 20%! My guess is that the soap does not get into the tub. During four washes I've paused the machine and tested the water. It had no soap in it. Samsung says since I'm using the correct type of soap it must not be a mechanical problem!!! Does that make sense to anyone?

After being on hold for over an hour finally spoke with a supervisor who agreed to have a technician come which they are doing in on Monday. The supervisor reminded me several times that if they don't find a mechanical problem then I have to pay for the trip. The technician firm (a third party) says they are not authorized to do a repair, but can only diagnose! Does this make any sense to to anyone??? I want this machine out of my life! It is ruining my clothes, towels and bedding! SAMSUNG I HOPE YOU'RE READING THIS!

I've had my Samsung model: WF219ANB/XAA for 5 yrs. My first problem was the dirty rag smell. Apparently this is a common problem. After using the correct amount of detergent and running the sanitize cycle with bleach once in a while, it's not as much of a problem. However, after cleaning the filter as told once every 3 months, I notice unused grains of detergent. Funny because I generally use liquid.

Next I notice loud banging during spin cycle. I changed the shock absorbers, Still banging. After watching a YouTube video I've come to learn that the spider (connects the motor to the drum) is made of an aluminum alloy, that disintegrates over time when subjected to water!!! Apparently Samsung needs to put some of the 305 billion dollars they made into their R&D department. Needless the washer is in a pile of pieces on my kitchen floor. I ordered the parts online, $130 fix, but I hope you have patience and know how to use a wrench otherwise it's not worth calling in a repairman. Too expensive.

As far as any feedback with this problem from Samsung good luck. I hope to God This company goes out of business for the pieces of crap they call appliances, and the bullcrap story their support center tells you as far as no recalls. Yeah there's no recalls because they never issued one. They know they'd be bankrupt if they did. Just waiting for something else to go wrong when I fix it myself. After Typing this, I plan on giving Consumer Reports a piece of my mind, because they're the Jackasses that gave this company the high ratings which encouraged me to buy this sorry excuse for a washing machine. NEVER AGAIN SAMSUNG. Enjoy my $1800. It's the last money you will ever see from me.

From the first day we received the washing machine it would not balance. We adjusted the feet and balanced it as the instructions told us too, still didn't work. Bought pads online that promised to keep it from "walking". Still didn't work. At this point I now had a dent in the dryer that was next to it and a huge dent on the washing machine because it kept moving all over the place. I could not return it because of the dent. They said that I had used it incorrectly which damaged it and that is why it was not working. I paid to have a professional come take a look at it but he told me that this is a common problem, and basically I had wasted my money. In fairness, as long as I time it and I stop the wash at 10 min left it is fine... of course that means nothing is ever finished washing.

Purchased new in May. Washer ran with no error codes. Clothes were not coming out as clean as I would expect for a brand new washer. Everything APPEARED to run fine as far as I could tell. Had maintenance man come out to review. Determined that the motherboard needed replaced. Agitator was not running the full time and not balancing clothes out properly. Very upset that I cannot return this product as it's over my 30 days. I only do laundry about 4 times a month which would not allow me to determine any issues. I would have never guessed that it was running incorrectly, just thought it was not a well created product. Glad that the product will be fixed, however it should not need fixed! It's BRAND NEW!

My husband purchased a Samsung dishwasher 1 year ago. And he paid an outrageous amount for it thinking it would be top of the line. Needless to say it stinks. It says on it 5 year warranty, which means nothing. We found that out, My husband purchased a 1 year extended warranty thinking that we would be extra coverage. Well let's face it didn't work in my favor. I've called the number on the machine for a service rep ever since I have owned it. They keep telling me the filter, the this, the that. I ask for a service guy and they tell me "what's the code well you don't need a service man out for that blah blah". Finally it completely stopped; a service guy was finally called to help.

He came, fixed it and a week later DID the same thing. Called again, now my warranty is up but I still think I have my 5 year to back. Nope. Big fat nope. The service guy comes out tells me its the other side they went out now. I ask "is this covered because I have no warranty". Now he says "sure no cost to you! I have to order the part". A week and a half later I have to call back Irwin. Now says "DID the serviceman tell you how much it would be?" I said "he told me no cost". Irwin tells me it's going to cost me around $300, no labor thank god for that. As a consumer I refuse to pay to have this lemon of a dishwasher that I have had problems with since day 1. I have lots of Samsung products in my home, but I can guarantee I won't have anymore. And as I am aware of now that Samsung doesn't back their 5 year warranties. Thank you for your concerns I have definitely learned my lesson.

We bought the washing machine (WF42H5000AW/A2) last year around November. We started having issues with the clothes smelling like mold. Normally when you'd wash your clothes they should smell clean coming out. Not in our case. Samsung does not take responsibility for the faulty product. They put the responsibility back on the consumer to do a 4 hours wash cycle to get rid of the stagnant water in the machine.

I've had washing machines for the past 30 years. I'd never had to do a clean cycle on them. There seems to be a manufacture defect with the product that the company is not interested in fixing. Just like lemon cars. When you have a problem that the manufacturer cannot fix, they claim that they couldn't recreate the problem. Just to tell you since we don't see it it does not exist. It is the same problem. You'd spend almost a $1,000 on a product and you are given a ** product. We need to stop these manufacturers from doing this to us consumers.

It does not clean clothes, not even when you are a woman alone and your clothes are not really dirty, they come out with lines on them, looking worst than when they went it. Time saver. 46 min to wash a small load... Really... And the water level was horrible. When I called about how disappointed I was and said what with the quart of water for a load of wash, apparently that all the water we need to wash clothes. Microwave had the handle break off. Oven's self-clean does a very poor job of cleaning. Fridge has had trouble from day one--rattling, squeaking, and door shelves can't hold any weight without unsnapping (I have to have them taped up). Washer doesn't drink soap dispenser properly, fills with water but won't drain. I would never, ever buy a Samsung appliance again. Asians love corny electronic music. In Asia it's in the subways, it's in the elevators, it assaults your ears everywhere you go. And now they bringing it into my house with these appliances. The dryer plays Mozart. Not just a few notes, it goes on and on and on to nag you that your cycle is done or that you have the dryer door open as you stand there to hang damp clothes from the dryer. Samsung has ruined Mozart. The washer makes too many prolonged nagging noises too.

The worst thing about the dryer is that you have to read the fricking manual to change how long you want clothes to dry. Honestly. A person should be able to turn on the dryer, set the time, and set the temperature without a tutorial. These are a dryer's basic functions and the reasonably intelligent appliance owner should be able to intuitively figure out how to use the fricking dryer by simply looking at the panel choices. No, no. You will need to read the manual to simply change the number of minutes your clothes will be tumbled. And the procedure written out in the manual to set the time is a 9-step process. What?! This is terrible man-centered engineering at its worst. I will say the washer has a nice large capacity. If you're short, you will need a step stool to reach the clothes at the bottom of it.

First the control panel then the washer transmission and at the same time the washer motor. The down time was unbelievable. It took the first time about three weeks to get a part. This last time the part gave out as a recall without a written notice that the part would cause the washer to leak and empty the entire floor with water thus ruined our laundry floor.

Samsung wanted to have my wife to get estimates from flooring companies drywall and take off work and run to Lowe's all over town. Both companies were blaming each other. My wife and I don't believe that this is fair to us as customers. If I were thinking about Samsung Washers YOU should think again. My husband and I recently purchased the new Samsung energy efficient top load washer and dryer set from Sears. I really thought they'd be great with all the commercials about them and the new energy efficient logo. What a great disappointment! First, I noticed when I washed my bedding it took 56 minutes and when I took it out of the washer it had dry spots on it where it wasn't washed. I ran it through again using the heavy and bedding settings as before this taking another 56 minutes. After that it took me two drying cycles of 56 minutes. I thought what the heck, I am using twice the amount of energy and they do not even smell clean.

Next, I washed my husband's work clothes. He's a mechanic so I only wash two pair of work pants at a time and put them on heavy setting 56 minutes. Guess what, filthy dirty even after 2 of these cycles. It left dirt in all the crevices of his clothes. I was so disappointed I started videoing my washes and took the videos to Sears. They said maybe I wasn't using the correct cycle... Lucky enough I had videoed my cycle settings as well. After speaking to my husband they agreed to exchange them.

I would honestly not advised anyone to purchase these Samsung washing machines and dryers. They will cause you a lot of time constraints from the rewashing you'll have to do and your clothes will not smell clean because they do not use enough water to get clothes washed thoroughly. The dryer will not dry quickly and if you set it on de wrinkle it will continue to kick on and sing to you all night. I am a teacher and I can tell you a working women has no patience for such nonsense. Whoever invented these things must've been crazy and had nothing better to do than rehash clothes all the time. Do not buy these!

In a five year, four month period this is the problems that have occurred with this machine. August 3, 2010 - Machine moving and severe vibrating when in spin cycle. Service person from appliance repair company talked to Samsung about this problem and was advised this was due to too small load of towels have big capacity machine. Husband and I were told that this was would be the normal vibration for this size of load.

July 25, 2012 - Had to have drive motor and main PCB replaced. September 11, 2015 - rubber gasket inside door started tearing. September 23, 2015 - repair company came to replace rubber gasket and found that the inner drum severely warped. Would need to replace rubber gasket, replace inner drum and replace rear tub. This repair was going to cost over $500. Beside the problems above the front load washer had a musty smell even though I did sanitize on numerous occasions and left the door open to air after end of cycles. Also made sure and dried water standing in the rubber gasket at the front door (this had to be done after every wash) of the washer after each washing.

We opted to not repair the washer since we could buy a new washer for not much more than this price. Called Samsung to see if they would give some type of consideration on a washer that didn't last more than a little over five years. Samsung knew there was a problem with this and other models because they released a service bulletin ASC20150605001 in June 2015. The bulletin clearly states that the fix is to replace the damper rods with a new style that are a different length. Clearly the existing rods are faulty/inadequate. The bulletin lists WA400, WA422, WA456, WA45H7000, and WA45H7200 models - "All production through Jan 2015."

Both their phone support and live chat agents tell me that I have to pay for repairs. Their bulletin was released 1 month before my warranty expired but it was not released publicly. We purchased a Samsung washing machine Model #WA4900PJHDWR a little over 2 yrs. ago 4/22/13 from hhgregg. Our salesperson swore it was top of the line and we would love the large drum with no agitator. It worked great up until 2 months ago. All of a sudden we started getting a DC error code. We haven't changed a thing - still use the same soap, same side load of clothes. The washer will count down to 17 minutes, start shaking violently, sometimes it bumps the time back up or just stops saying the load is unbalanced. Our water bill went from $100 a month to $261 because of it continuously recycling. We had a repairman come out. Since we did not purchase an extended warranty the repair service charge alone was $79 just to come out from hhgregg. Two other companies charged $62 for the service call and then $15 for every 1 minutes after.

The service tech who noticed the foam pads inside that keep the drum from bouncing off the side were completely worn down. He replaced them but it didn't work. He spent over 2 hours on the phone with Samsung and they gave him the runaround bumping him from department to department. He is filing a complaint with the Attorney General in the State of Ohio. He said it's the third Samsung product he's had such an issue on and Samsung will do nothing to help.

We've now read 893 reviews of this washer being defective from moldy smells, to unclean clothes, the DC error code, fires caused by defective parts, etc. Samsung will not cover anything beyond the 1 yr. limited warranty. Every consumer we've read about including ourselves are stuck with a bill to fix it, having to purchase a new machine like us after spending $569 on it and it only lasting two years or paying for parts that cost more than the machine.

Samsung clearly knows they have a very defective product on their hands and they are taking no responsibility and should be held accountable. They should have to offer refunds to all their customers or have a recall no different than the major car manufacturers having to be held accountable for their defective products. It's shameful and they should be held to the same standards of any American product if they are selling their product to consumers. When you've tried two months nonstop to fix the issue and there isn't a resolution what other choice do you have other than to go and buy a new washer? We can't pay to keep having service people come out.

I called Samsung to advise that my washing machine was not locking and that I could not wash clothes. They advised as it was past warranty, that I would need to follow up with a local service agent. They provided me with the contact information for a local service agent. A service agent attended my residence and advised that the locking mechanism was broken and needed to be replaced. I noted the mechanism is plastic and checking online, I see that the damaged locking mechanism is not uncommon with this washing machine.

The agent advised he had seen this in other Samsung washing machines. It cost $325 to replace the one part. I contacted Samsung to advise them of my displeasure with this cheap plastic locking mechanism and requested some compensation or a replacement washing machine with a more well made locking mechanism. They responded that there was nothing they could do via an email message and then advised that I could not respond to the email..

What kind of practice is this? There was no service in their customer service and I will not purchase any type of Samsung product ever again. On top of this, I will go out of my way to ensure that all my family & friends understand my displeasure with their lack of customer service, their cheap poorly made products and recommend none purchase anything from Samsung.

I bought my WF5000 4.2 cu. ft. Front Load Washer (White) in June 2014. I started having problems with it in November. Basically the bleach and water stay in the depressors so your color clothes will get messed up with bleach from the last load. The washer itself will stink no matter how many time you run the Self Cleaning cycle, use vinegar, lemon juice or anything. It will make your clothes always smell nasty like they needed to be washed. I am really suggesting you DO NOT buy this washer. Go with a top loading washer instead. You'll be glad you did.

They told me to call my area repairman. His number had been disconnected. Went to his place of business, not there. Called Samsung back. Repairman called, came to house, stated didn't know what metal was. But got machine to run. I came home tried to wash. Same thing, more metal coming out. Louder sound, also some rubber this time. I called their repairman back, no answer, left message. Never returned call. Went to Lowe's - was told problem spider around tub breaking off, would need new drum.

Tonight Samsung called me. I explained to them my problem. Told them felt like I should be compensated somehow. Was given run around, transferred 3 times then just left on hold. Would not buy another Samsung - NO WAY! Not my fault inside metal coming off, factory defect. They should be ashamed of their company.

My parents purchased a Samsung washer and dryer for me while I was in the hospital. They assured me they did lots of research and purchased an extended warranty. From the onset the washer will NOT finish the spin clothes cycle, giving an error message. It continually restarts during the spin cycle. It's dinging and restarting all day or all night long! Talk about NOT energy efficient. I Hate this washer. It was the biggest waste of money and now takes so much time to run a load. I'm constantly putting it on the spin cycle. It doesn't matter if I have one sheet or 4, one towel or four... you get the picture. It stops during the spin cycle and restarts itself repeatedly. It has a mind of its own. I'm ready for an old-fashioned wringer. It takes so much time wringing out soaking wet clothes, etc.

Don't buy a Samsung! I tried calling them. Spent hours on the phone and basically they told me it wasn't under warranty and the extended warranty wouldn't cover it. Did I say I hate this washer?!!! I'm a teacher, so I don't have extra money to buy appliances. I'm going to have to endure this piece of garbage for years until I can save the money to buy anything but Samsung.

Wash machine was 2.5 years old. Drain pump housing broke apart, not at the bolts but simple, the outside casing of the pump broke allowing water to spill out onto floor. Wires snapped which in turn burnt out the main control panel, extended warranty not purchased. Sears would not back product and indicated that Samsung would assume not responsibility. Repairman had never seen this issue before. Replacement kit was a retrofit kit which allowed the pump to be fastened to the main frame and not directly under the tub. Repair person from Sears was very patient and professional and did his best. Cost was $660.00 for a machine that originally cost $700.00. Reading online, this is a common problem with this machine and one complaint listed that there was a bulletin, ASC20130509001 from Samsung referencing this problem. I will look into this further.

Exactly 3 years and 5 days ago, Gail and I, bought a Samsung Top Load Washer and front load Dryer pair. The Sears Roebuck salesperson touted this pair to be better than their comparable Kenmore product which we had originally wanted to purchase. When all was said and done, we spent $1421.74 for the Samsung pair. We contacted Sears each time it had a problem but because we had not purchased an Extended Warranty Contract we were told we would have to pay. The product never worked properly but we were able to set and reset it to almost work properly. The machine will not drain properly, will not complete a spin cycle and even with a minimum load, it goes off balance telling us to (dc) distribute clothes. If I take 2/3 the wet load out and redistribute 1/3 the clothes it may or may not spin dry them.

I have washed clothes in the Salmon River and hung them wet on a clothesline and had a load done quicker than I can with this Samsung washer. Gail called Samsung and the C.S. representative told her she wasn't washing big enough loads. So, Gail washed a few bigger loads and now she goes to the new laundromat in town to do our laundry. Sears Roebuck's "too-bad-for-you-for-not-buying-our-extended-warranty-which-is-NOT-really-a-warranty-but-is-a-SERVICE-CONTRACT-and-wouldn't-cover-anything-anyway-without-a-casual-part-to-blame-because-even-Samsung-doesn't-know-what-the-problem-is" attitude doesn't help either. But that's okay. Though I am one small person, I am mighty (that's Shakespeare) because I have Facebook and that will be my vindication.

Now we're going to go buy a cheap $399.00 washer at Home Depot and because we are very visible at the top of this hill and just before Black Friday, I will place the Samsung out on our property facing Hwy 101 with a sign directing people not to shop at Sears and not to buy Samsung Appliances and the horses can do what they want all over the Samsung. Now, if Sears and Samsung want to make a deal to take this hunk of donkey dung off our backs we can possibly change the outcome in a more positive way. However, I doubt that will happen.

We purchased the top loader washer (WA422) in March 2013. In April 2014 I had to call Samsung and argue with a customer service rep to get the motherboard replaced because I couldn't get the machine to come on and run through a cycle. Samsung kindly issued a one time fix due to the fact that I complained that it was a year old and accused them of not standing by their product.

It is now September 2015 and the washer will not spin. When I put it on the spin cycle it will start to violently spin at 9 mins, stop, reset itself to 17 mins, fill with water, and repeat. Also, the bottom of the washer is sharp, like it is falling out. If you run your fingers around the bottom of the drum, you will cut yourself. I have read other reviews about this same washer with the same problem and have decided that this needs to go to the scrapyard. We have spent over $700.00 for this washer and another $400.00 for a new Kenmore to replace this piece of scrap metal. I will NEVER buy another Samsung product ever...and I will tell everyone I know and strangers too!!

2011 I did my research and bought the highest rated Top Load HE Washer by Samsung. DC error use to just happen every once in a while, but now all the time. My wife has come down with cancer so she will change her undergarments 3 times in the night. This thing keeps getting DC error and you have to re-layer the clothes in the washer (that's okay for me 5 foot 10 inches but she is 5 foot 8 inches and has trouble reaching the bottom with her waist scars). It would not be so bad if she did not have to do it so often. It's not like you can just re-layer the load and all is okay. The machine starts the rinse cycle all over again (there is no just spin cycle) and again with clothes all messed together again and you get the DC error again and the Rinse Cycle start's all over again.

If this is what doing laundry with no agitator is, then please give the agitator back to me. For all the Hype of the HE the old system still cleans better anyway and no Dc error. I know the DC error comes from the higher rate of spin to reduce the drying time, but we're wasting so much water with restarts of the Rinse cycle (2-4 times) there is no savings. Rust: My Top lid is rusting around the bleach container. This is a feature very rarely used (1-2 times per year). I can't believe the machine is rusting so. It sits right next to a 16-year-old dryer which is okay (no rust). The washer is not in a basement or damp place. It sits in the house mudroom right next to the kitchen (air conditioned space).

I never had any mildew or mold issues. In August of 2015, the drum stopped turning. After researching, I determined that the armature holding the drum, " the spider", was the culprit. October 5/2015 warranty will expire. My wife was washing a small load of her clothing, and went upstairs to the kitchen until she heard a unusual sound in the basement. But she was busy and continue with what she was doing. After a half hour she went down to take the clothes out and found the inside glass was totally in pieces, she phoned me up and I said what in earth was she washing!

I Googled if Kenmore had problems with frontload washer and glass doors. I to my surprise found many of these instances. With safety issues until media got involved Samsung and Sears did not want to do something about it. We phone Sears and they told me that the warranty from the Manufacturer is 1 year! And the extended doesn't cover the glass door. Trying to contact Samsung was a waste of time. They send me to all kind of departments and at the end the conclusion was the part was DISCONTINUED. Can you believe that. They told me to find a second hand somewhere. And that I would need to deal with Sears. Here is a Youtube case: **.

Sears told me they have no record of our model for a "recall" so I'm out of luck. The repair service from Sears was no help either and they told me to pay their wages to get it fixed $380 and up depending the damage. I'm with one of the previous complainer. We need to make it more public that Samsung is selling Garbage at inflated prices and doesn't back them up. We had a Maytag for 22 years. Not fancy but reliable!! I have pretty well all Samsung in my house but I think they should stick to electronics not Appliances. Will try to figure out why parts after 2 years are no longer avail. I found Sears not helpful either.

Purchased Samsung front load washer (model # WF350ANW) Jan. 2011. Worked fine until 3 months ago, when during spin cycle, it started vibrating violently and sounded like a helicopter was taking off! We purchased it at Lowe's and, luckily, had taken an extended warranty. Called Lowe's repair hotline. Serviceman diagnosed bad "damper shocks" and replaced them on his second service call 10 days later. (I also found small pieces of gray rubber in my wash. Showed those to him, he said it could be the door gasket. But after inspecting the gasket, said there was no damage and he didn't know where the rubber was coming from!)

After he finished the repair, he called me in and showed me how it still vibrated a good amount. Said stainless steel tub is "deformed" and would need to be replaced… "Might last one year, might last three years." I ran a small load after he left and the vibrations were just as bad as before. I just called Lowe's parts department about the tub and was informed that it is no longer available, part discontinued! I have decided to use this piece of JUNK until it quits and NEVER BUY ANOTHER SAMSUNG PRODUCT AGAIN!!! I'll go back to my tried-and-true Kenmore top loader.

The washer is 3 years old now. Just after the 1 year warranty expired, it started acting up with the OE error code. We had 2 different repairmen come out to look at it. The last one came 3x. We had the motherboard and motor replaced. It worked for awhile but now get the DC error code. When washer gets to the spin cycle the washer shakes violently and the washer stops and flashes a DC error code. I either press restart, or open the washer and move the laundry around in the drum, close the door and then press the start button. It gets to 9 minutes, and then goes back to 17 minutes, puts more water in the machine, and gets to the spin cycle and the same thing happens all over again.

My clothes are soaking wet and I have had to take them out of the washer, put them in the sink to drain them, and put them in the dryer wetter than they should be. I've even powered off the washer, and tried just using the spin cycle to drain the water out, and spin. The machine puts more water in the machine, gets to spin cycle and the DC error code appears again! I don't even want to think of the water wastage. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SAMSUNG APPLIANCES AT ALL!

This WF405ATPAWR washer was purchased @ Home Depot February 2014. The salesperson said it was one of the top washers they had. I am a single woman who does perhaps two light loads a week and had my last washer for 15 years. It had been repaired once when it was about 10 years old. The Samsung started making a terrible loud banging noise about 5 days ago. When I checked it, nothing appeared outwardly to be wrong. I let it complete its cycle but when I tried to remove my laundry the drum had developed a sharp pucker and it ripped one of my towels.

Samsung's online chat recommended making sure it was balanced, which it was. The next Samsung rep recommended making sure the 'lint filter' was clean and offered to sell me a Samsung Protection Plus plan for $328.25 good for one year. After many calls, out of frustration, I finally agreed to buy this ridiculous overpriced plan just so I could get this 'major appliance' repaired. The repairman told me the ball bearings and the drive shaft are shot, plus my drum needs to be replaced. Repair would cost over $1000 if I didn't have the Protection Plan. Tonight I received a email from Samsung saying I'm getting a ONE TIME ACCOMMODATION to repair this washer. Thank You!! I am so mad, I will never buy another appliance or any product from this company. Buyer Beware!!

I bought a Samsung washer -- top of the line in 2011 when bought, heavy duty, largest capacity. Obviously expected it to last a long time. Lasted 4 years! My parents' old one still works and it's over 20 years old! Bearings went out. What makes it worse is that, unlike other washers where you only have to replace the bearings/seal set, you cannot do this with my model. You are required to buy the whole drum with bearings already in, etc. With tax minimum cost is $320 -- bear in mind this is parts alone. Paid $50 for a service call where I was told to go out and buy an LG.

Samsung has sunk below top of the line. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG WASHER. Also, although I keep hoping it's my imagination, it sometimes takes forever for clothes to dry in my Samsung dryer. Apparently though Samsung doesn't care. You don't expect a top of the line washer to go out in 4 years so I did not extend the warranty, but sometimes extended warranties don't cover everything anyway and I can guarantee you that if they knew about this problem it would not be covered on the extended warranty! Wow -- 4 years and it's dead!!!

I called Samsung Protection Plus @800-726-7864 on July 8, 2015. During the call I explained the representative my situation we are having with our Samsung front load washer (making a LOUD sound during the spin cycle - sounds like a jet is in my laundry room). The representative was pleasant to speak with, she setup a service call and informed me someone will be in touch with me within 24-48 hours. I took record of my Samsung Service Number and Samsung Ticket Number.

A week later I follow up because no one called. The representative at that time mentioned she is scheduling a service call for someone to come out. Interesting, I thought that's what the representative I originally spoke to did that. Anyhow, long story short with a couple more calls to the Protection Plan 800 # being bounced around with transfers, as of today August 4, 2015 I have yet to get my washer repaired. Additionally, I have yet to receive a call from Samsung to update with a status. So. What does a consumer like me do.

Today, I called the Protection plan 800 number again. Again, I have been bounced around transfer after transfer (spoke to 4 people and I'm literally on hold for the 5 right now as I'm typing this). According to Michelle in the troubleshooting unit (why in the world would I be transferred there, I have no idea well I actually do, Samsung has proven to be the worst customer service provider thus far) she transferred me to the Customer Relations Unit. I'm about 46:11 minutes/seconds (according to my cell phone call timer) into this call and still on hold listening to the automated message "Thank you for holding, we appreciate your patience. Your call will be answered in the order it was received."

Finally! Tina with Executive Customer Relations unit answered only to tell me there is nothing else she can do other than setup another service call appointment with Premier Appliance Service (vendor they use for appliance repairs). She gave me a new ticket number Ticket, Premier Appliance Service number and mentioned someone should be in contact with me 1-2 days.

This is a complaint! Treat it as one Samsung! Get your customer service unit right! This is horrible service. I purchase a pretty expensive washer ($1000+) for this type of service and product? You're too big to care? Well, consumers, take note. This is what kind of service you will get with Samsung. I'd like someone to follow up and follow through. If in 2 days I do not get this solved well I guess I'll join the 800+ consumer affairs complaints for Samsung. Horrible, horrible service!

The balancing ring is an integral part of the wash drum and the fix for this problem is to replace the entire drum at a cost of approximately 300.00. My fix if I prove it to work would be substantially less. Anyone interested in this can contact me for a full explanation.

I purchased this washing machine brand new in December 2013. By Jan 2014 I had called Samsung 3 times to ask them why this machine was unstitching all my washing and tangling it. They replied with, "You have overloaded it or there is not enough water." I know how to use machines like this as I had the first NEC bubble jet machine purchased brand new in 1998 which lasted 17 years with very few repairs after 12 years (anyway I know how to use this type of machine). I asked them if they would replace the machine as I was really unhappy and thought I perhaps purchased the dud of the line but they declined and said they would replace a part (on a brand new machine? come on).

I contacted fair trading for advice. They said Samsung was within their rights to replace parts on new machine and not the whole unit (unhappy) so I let them. This machine still unstitch and tangles but what's the point in complaining??? Samsung won't do anything and Fair trading says it's ok. Now 18 months later there is a issue with the spin cycle. It isn't spinning/draining water from clothes properly, which means I have to spin 3-4 times and it makes a lot of clunking noises while it's spinning so I have contacted Samsung again and they are sending out a technician in 5 days.

Yep, I have received nothing but awesome customer service from Samsung on this machine.. NOT. I never recommend Samsung as a reliable washing machine to people and have lost faith in ALL Samsung products (I have a Samsung S3 mobile). I had to purchase a new microwave 2 months ago and the sales people kept referring me to Samsung but as I have no faith in any of their products I steered clear and told the salesperson why. I have a Samsung top loading washing machine model #wa456drhdsu//aa and have had nothing but problems with it. I have replaced two pumps which happened during my warranty period. The new problem is the dampers (springs) that keep the drum from getting out of balance. I searched the internet to find out that this is a common problem. But during my search I came across this service bulletin dated 6-5-15. Which states that basically Samsung put the wrong parts in some of the machines so they sent this bulletin out to all their techs with the new part to be installed in the machine.

I called Samsung and they basically said that since my machine was out of warranty that I was out of luck. Even though they originally installed parts that were wrong for my machine. I was pissed because I paid extra for a large capacity name brand machine hoping that it would last me a long time. Unfortunately it's had nothing but problems and with the way their customer service handled the situation was very poor. One guy even told me that I must have really been digging to find that service bulletin and that it wasn't meant for me to see but he still refused to do anything. If you are in the market for a new washing machine I would definitely not buy a Samsung unless you buy a very extended warranty.

My husband and I bought a pair of Samsung washer and dryer on the 10th of July 2015 from Pacific Sales store in San Dimas, California. Two delivery guys showed up on the 14th and when they saw that these 2 machines needed to go upstairs. They simply left them in my hallway and gone, telling my husband that they would come back next day with extra help. Next day came, nobody showed up, so my husband, after got kicked around on the phone from the store to delivery warehouse, from Best Buy to Pacific sales (we still do not have any clue what are relationships between these 2 business) finally was told that nobody was available to come again making delivery (to upstairs) and installation until one week later!

Not believing this could be true, I in turn called the warehouse myself asking to speak with their supervisor. The warehouse reception would not want to tell me the supervisor's name, only told me that she was not allowed to give me his last name but his first name is Anthony. I had to leave a message to Anthony, of course nobody ever called me back. Wednesday afternoon I then called the store directly telling them to pick up these 2 machines so that they can be moved out of my hallway, and demanded for a refund. I think this finally got their attention. Couple of hours later I received a phone call telling me that his name is Gabriel and his is the San Dimas store manager. He apologized for what had happened and told me that if I insisted on returning them, I would have to wait till 3 days later which is Saturday, but If I do not return them, he would send someone Friday to install these machine. Of course I chose the latter.

By Friday noon, I did not receive either phone calls from the store nor from the warehouse on promised 2nd delivery/installation. I then called the store again. A girl in manager's office told me that the store manager Gabriel was on the phone and she, with very convincing tone, told me that I would get the installation between 1 pm to 5 pm that day. Not wanting to miss this installation they promised, I hurried my husband home during the work hour for the whole afternoon. The result you already know now: Nobody showed up ever, not between 1 pm to 5 pm, not after 5 pm.

Frustrated and furious beyond our believe, about 10 am Saturday I called the store manager Gabriel again. He would not want to answer my call. So I had to leave another message to him. I waited another hour and he finally called me back. When I informed him that I would record our conversation if he did not mind, he angrily and rudely said 'no, I do mind you record our conversation'. Hmm... Long story short, as you can guess, I was lied to again and again. I did not get anyone to install my washer and dryer that day after long and exhausting conversation with Gabriel. Not next day until following Wednesday, exact 8 days after they dropped these 2 machines in my hallway!

One thing that I want to mention here is that EVERYONE, I MEAN EVERYONE that my husband and I spoke with sounded all VERY RUDE, very unprofessional. Some of their names which I wrote down are Rachael in the warehouse, and Natalie in San Dimas store. And I did not have the honor to speak with the warehouse supervisor Anthony because he never returned my call! Hey, he might be a professional and nice guy, though you would never know! I could not laugh at that time. My husband and I were miserable. This is the worst experience we ever had in our life. I wonder why they still exists. They should be out of business forever for good. We need to let the world know their bad business operation. Of course we will never buy anything from them again and we will tell all of our friends not to buy anything from Pacific Sales.

We purchased this Samsung Top Load HE washer less than 3 years ago. Within the first year, the bracket holding the waste water pump had broken off the unit causing it to flood part of my house. As I looked under the unit, I saw that the pump was mounted to the bottom of the drum with a plastic bracket and nothing to dampen or absorb the vibration from the unit. After a long, aggravating conversation my call was escalated to a person who said "I'm the highest person you will reach at Samsung." I explained my situation, and was asked "what changes would you make?" I explained that there is enough room on the bottom frame to mount the pump, use rubber vibration dampeners, and get away from the pinch clamps holding on the water lines and use hose clamps. 8 months later, a retro kit was available for $100.00.

Now let's get into the "service" company that they use in MD. I was told that I would receive a call within 24 hours to schedule my repair. After leaving multiple messages and calling Samsung back multiple times I was finally called 4 days later. I was told (while they were laughing) that my paperwork was misplaced and the part was out of stock. During my 4 days of aggravation I found the part local to me and passed on that info. Finally 10 from failure date a "technician" came out and replaced the part. I was also told that "clearly you do not know how service works." Yet, I am a service contractor for the government. Since then, the unit has failed 4 times, this time not draining. Called Samsung a final time and was told I'm on my own to fix it. Glad I paid $1000.00 for something that didn't last 3 years. Samsung has lost me as a customer. All they care about is the initial sale, not customer satisfaction.

Our family purchased the WA400 series as our first new appliance set in November 2013. The guy at the store told us how, without an agitator, we could wash more of a volume of clothes. Great idea when you have two boys. Within a month my family began to complain that their clothes were not getting clean. I thought perhaps I was filling the washer too full. Boy was I wrong. No matter what size load that I did, I would get the same result. I thought washers were supposed to wash clothes. Often times I was required to redo a whole load.

About six months ago, the washer began to act odd when it came to the spin cycle. The washer would shake violently and then when it gets to 9 minutes, it resets to 17 minutes. If it is on warm or hot and we aren't paying attention, it quickly drains our hot water heater. When it finishes the wash cycle I now have to set it to the spin cycle. Most of the time I still get the dc error code and my clothes are soaking wet. This whole high energy efficiency on this washer has me wondering where these people got their information. The guy at the store told us how the washer spun so well that the dryer hardly had to work at all. The last load I did as of two weeks ago took good seven sixty minute runs. So much for saving us money.

We contacted the store and they said it wasn't under warranty. We bought it a year and a half ago. They said that the direct drive is however. They then informed us we have to drive it 25 miles to the repair guy and that it will probably be at our own cost. From what I have read on this site today I have little faith the repair place will be successful in fixing it, but we have to try. I am so disappointed. This was the first brand new appliance set we bought. Now I have to walk to my neighbor's house and wash a load. Then, walk back home to dry them. I have all of their appliances and in the past they have been helpful but this time they wouldn't do anything to fix it. They wouldn't help at all or give a discount to buy a new washer. Do not buy washer and dryers in Samsung. They will not last.

I bought a Samsung washer and a dryer in 2012. A little over 2 years later, the door lock stopped working. I called Samsung and told it was out of warranty. I paid 328.99 to fix it and a year warranty. The same problem happened again after 1 year and 3 months later. I called Samsung and told them this is manufacturer defect. They gave me running around and of course they denied it's Samsung's quality problem and nothing they can do because it's out of warranty. It also smells like rotten thing if you don't let the door open and dry after each wash. I am not surprised to see all the complaints. Please never buy Samsung washer and never buy anything without checking customer reviews.

From day one I have had nothing but problems with the washer. I had the warranty technician out 2 (or more) times in the 1st year because of water leaks and 2 error messages. Each time the technician said he could not "duplicate" the problem and only once was a repair attempted. Now that the washing machine is out of warranty the water leak is worse than ever and the last technician said the "drum" could have a "lopsided load" causing water to spill out on to the floor... Well regardless, the washing machine is GARBAGE and I WILL NEVER purchase another home appliance under the Samsung name. Samsung, stick to TVs and phones. You suck at the home appliance division!!!

After waiting two weeks and going to store they did not have the original model so they replaced the pair with a different Samsung model. l did not get it until Oct 2014. Now that dryer fried and Samsung states it is out of warranty because I purchased it in April, they exchanged models because they didn't have the one I purchased. I will never purchase another Samsung product ever again. They are the rudest bunch of people that I ever dealt with. They act like it's my problem. I purchased a Samsung front-loading machine about 8 years ago that I have had nothing but problems with. I can find all the same complaints listed endless times online (smells terrible, have to constantly clean, runs way too long to be efficient, won't spin water out) but after endless maintenance nightmares and after being checked out fully by a Samsung dispatched repair company, my experience ended with my washing machine STARTING ON FIRE. I had to unplug it, move it to the middle of a room, smother the fire.. to keep it from burning down my house. The service people who had just been at my house said they could replace the back drum and seal, at a cost of $1200 (yes, more than a new one) but overall it was not too bad and that I could continue to use it. That was only one load before it STARTED on fire.

About a year after we bought our Samsung washing machine (purchased 10/7/2011) it started having an orange rusty-colored line on the top of detergent/softener dispenser drawer when I pulled it out. I cleaned it every time I used it. Then shortly afterwards, the area around bleach dispenser began rusting. Now the top of the inner "lip" over the drum is rusting. The area around the dispenser is so bad that orange rust is running over the edge and down into the drum. Last year the washer was repaired 4 times and the dryer, one time. Our clothes and bedding have rust spots that I can't get out. I no longer feel I can use it for any clothing or bedding of value. I am not having any luck so far as rust is considered "cosmetic" and not covered. We purchased a 4-year extended warranty from Lowe's.

UPDATED ON 09/24/2015: My first review on this site was July 20, 2015 when I posted pictures and narrative about our unfortunate experience with our Samsung washing machine. I felt it was important to update readers on what has happened since. Samsung agreed to repair our machine by replacing the badly rusted top. We agreed to do that. They sent the wrong parts to the repair company in our area AND the top came with NO LID. The lid of our machine was rusted, also. The repairman could not make the repairs and I had to call Samsung again. Before I could, they called me to ask if I was satisfied with the repairs. "What repairs?" I asked. I explained what happened to them and said I needed a new lid on the top.

We got into the "rust is cosmetic" issue again at which point I told them I was planning on retiring this year and I planned on committing the rest of my life (if it took that long) to making sure the world knew what junk Samsung made and how poor their customer service was. I was put on hold and after one hour my hand was asleep so I hung up. Two days later they called me and offered to "buy back" my washing machine. They first offered $649 and then I mentioned the ruined clothes and they upped it to $749. We received the money direct deposit and we promptly went shopping for a new washer AND dryer. Even though our dryer works, I don't want anything Samsung anymore.

We purchased Speed Queen this time. They are basic, dependable, and have a 5 year warranty that YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR!! I can't take all the credit for this happy ending. Our local Lowe's (where we purchased the Samsung set) stuck by us and was instrumental in making Samsung listen and take responsibility. I just want people to know that it is possible to deal with these big corporations. It's not easy, but it's possible. Good luck to all. PS... I still chose to put only one star to rate my experience because this should never have happened to begin with.

We bought this washer & it's matching dryer less than 2 years ago from our local Lowe's store. I did extensive research at the time, and we had friends who had just purchased this set and loved theirs. After reviewing other models as well, I had come to the conclusion that no one makes a great washing machine anymore anyway, so it may be best to go with one that someone had recently purchased and loved, and that I trusted. Unlucky for me!

This machine has been such a nightmare! IT LEAVES BLACK SLIMEY SHEETS OF SOMETHING ALL OVER ALL OF MY LOADS! I had one service person tell me that it is caused by buildup behind the drum from the new environmentally friendly detergents that we all must use and to be sure to run the Pure Cycle. I do that regularly without fail. IT DOES NOT HELP! Everytime I run the Pure Cycle to clean it there are large amounts of this gunk everywhere inside of the drum, but it does not stop it from continuing. I may get a load of two that I only have to pick stuff off of, but rarely.

Upon calling Samsung, and waiting 42 minutes on hold, they inform me that I am out of warranty and need to schedule a service call with the nearest dealer which is in another town!!! I left them a message last week, but they never returned my call. Call #2 to Samsung, and another 35 minute hold time, and they are scheduling a service call for me this time - the company will call me "within 4 hours" to let me know the date and time frame.

THE NEXT AFTERNOON WHEN THE COMPANY CALLS TO SCHEDULE MY SERVICE APPOINTMENT, it is a very country sounding lady who doesn't seem to understand anything about washers at all. I explained my problem, and she put me on hold to return and inform me that I should just buy a new washer as it would be cheaper than repairing mine!!! Seriously???!!! Just like that? No inspection? No questions or answers with the technician? No explanation offered for my less than 2 year old washer that works fine other than this gunk coming out of it???!!!

So, I asked for her to please explain to me what her reasoning was...she says to hold on and returns. The technician tells her to tell me that my "clutch is leaking grease and it is mixing with the soap" and getting on my clothes. That we would need to replace the clutch, pay for a new drum, service call, labor, additional parts, etc and it would easily add up to $600 - $700. So, they recommend a new washer. Nice for them to just assume that's best...what about my dryer that matches this washer? So annoyed!!! Do not buy Samsung - I do not trust this tech. And they have no one locally. Frustrating as heck.

How could this have happened? We never make large purchases without first doing exhaustive research. We looked at tons of different washers in person and online. We read countless customer reviews and weighed ratings. We felt very good about our decision to buy the Samsung WA5454ANW/XAA over all the other choices. We felt very good about buying it through Best Buy. We don't feel so good anymore. Our new bright shiny washer was delivered April 11, 2012. It began to bite the dust June 13, 2015. If you're an inventor, or a manufacturer that cares, that's not a great record. But - if what I'm seeing on this site is any indication - the folks at Samsung are not great inventors or manufacturers, and they certainly don't care.

We paid a little over $1,000 for our well-researched new high tech HE washer. It worked satisfactorily, even though I have expressed some consternation along the way that there really doesn't seem to be enough water in the tub to actually get the clothes clean. We've had the occasional pause for an unbalanced load, which we fixed apparently to the machine's satisfaction. Then, a few weeks ago, in the middle of a load, the machine decides it doesn't feel like spinning any longer and posts an E3 error code. Gosh, that's a new one, I thought - I wonder what that one means... The manual says it's a motor drive or hall sensor error. I take out my handy dandy troubleshooting guide that came with the machine and run through the well-belled and whistled diagnostics.

I'm not a novice when it comes to things mechanical, but I figured since "motor" is one of the few remaining parts still under warranty, I'll call the people responsible for this beast and see what they have to say. Imagine my surprise to find that, as Samsung's customer service expert searches for a repair person, the nearest "authorized" repair person is an hour and a half drive from my home. "Are you sure?", I inquire. "There has to be someone in my immediate area." Nope - she says - United Radio in Syracuse is the closest authorized repair business to my home in Binghamton. United Radio? I've lived in central/Southern Tier of NY all my life and have never HEARD of United Radio. No bother - I get the contact information and we set up an appointment.

The call was on a Friday. The tech wouldn't be here until the following Wednesday. That's today. He confirms our 2 o'clock appointment. He shows up and I introduce him to the beast. He starts looking at a bunch of information on his cell phone. He didn't even seem to have much in the way of tools or tech manuals with him. Long story short: he didn't seem to know much more about the beast and what was causing its ailment than I've learned by watching YouTube for a week and a half. I hear him on the phone talking with his supervisor about what they should do. His professional diagnosis amounted to: "not sure what the problem is. Could be this wire harness or another one, or it could be the main board." Our price for maybe fixing it: $306 and change. Nope. Not going to happen.

With the tech standing there with his estimate in hand, I get back on the phone and talk to his supervisor who runs me through my (all distasteful) options. I get the impression that he doesn't want his technician to replace one wire harness first to see if that's the offender, and if not, replace the other one. Too time consuming. After all, there are about four screws he'd have to unscrew and then unplug a wire harness and then plug the new one in. Who has that kind of time? I said to the man on the phone: "he's looking to charge me $150 for labor: I'd like to see some labor done." I was not about to pay a repair charge of roughly the third of the cost of this machine when it was new, when even the technician and his supervisor weren't sure it would even work. Of all the options laid before me, I opted for: the technician gets back in his car and drives away and I find a local repairman to give it a shot, or I try to fix it myself.

To their credit, they waived their usual $55 "travel fee". My question to all of us is: why are we putting up with this nonsense? We are literally being robbed by corporations that are knowingly selling us garbage and inflated prices and then trying to rob us again when their garbage starts to stink. We do our homework, we do our research, we spend hours comparing machines and even then, we end up with a big shiny pile of junk. In days of old, appliance manufacturers took pride in the quality of their product. They stood behind them. It didn't require a second mortgage to have them repaired if something went wrong. I make this solemn vow: I will never EVER again buy any product that has the word Samsung attached to it.

The underside of the metal seems to have no type of coating or rust inhibitor at all. I have had other problems with the machine and dealt with the totally worthless extended warranty providers before, so no surprise to learn others have been told rust is not covered. Who makes a washer out of metal that can not get wet? Do not buy a Samsung washer.

Purchased a Samsung washer and matching dryer TWO years ago. Now my washer isn't starting a wash cycle. Tried two times to get some help. USELESS! I was pretty much told I was SOL. I tried everything the manual stated to no avail. Can't get any help. I can't afford expensive repairs. I had purchased this brand believing they were one of the best. NOT! I will never purchase another Samsung product as long as I live. I will make it my mission to tell every consumer out there looking to buy, not to bother purchasing any Samsung products. They WILL NOT stand behind their brand. I will now be out of pocket the cost of another washer. This one is TRASH!!!! And the sad thing about all this is it is only two years old. My model: Top Loader, WA422PRHDWR. Purchased it on 03/09/2013 at my local Home Depot.

I don't believe anyone should have to purchase an extended warranty on any product. They all should last more than TWO YEARS! This washer should have lasted at least 5 years. Buyer BEWARE! I don't recommend the Samsung washer or dryers. Leave them in your stores. Tell everyone to turn away. It may be a better route to purchase a little more of an expensive brand than Samsung, especially since they find no need to stand behind their customer's purchases. Save yourselves some headaches and money, trust those who have warned you. We have experienced it for ourselves. To all who will heed this warning.

Then I tried to dry a couple of towels in the electric dryer (same brand) and now the drum sounds like it wants to come out of the machine! Stopped the dryer because I was scared it would explode too! Contacted Samsung and all I got was my warranty is up and I need to call for a repair. I'm upset because I'm on fixed income. I received your mailing on Friday with your offer for a Samsung Protection Plus for my washer WA422PRHDWR/AA. I find it more than ironic that this arrived on the very day your washer failed for the THIRD time - the computer completely went haywire! I bought this washer from my local Sears - South Portland, Maine in January of 2013. Since that time I have had to have the pump mechanism replaced TWICE after flooding my laundry room! And now the computer is filling and refilling the washer, spinning, stopping, and refilling again. I have had it.

When I approached your company the second time the pump failed, I was completely given the run around and instead of offering to replace this clearly lemon of a washer, I was offered the opportunity to purchase a Protection Plan at a price way beyond the cost of a new washer!! Also after first 2 months the drain hose leaked so I replaced that. Overall. From what I have read on Samsung machines and my experience, these machines are junk! Will never buy a Samsung product again. Machine has performed ok since changing rods but sounds like a train on any spin cycle. Think twice before buying this product. My model is the WA400 series. I told them I wanted a repair person to come out. I also explained that I have a beauty shop and need my towels washed daily and that I needed someone the next day. They assured me someone would call and set a time.

The next day came and by noon no one called. So, I called again and they gave me the number of the repair company they contacted for me. So, I called and of course have to leave a message. My wife and I purchased a washer and dryer front load combo on 12/31/08. We have seven children, so my wife does an average of two to three loads of laundry per day. She is very careful not to over load the machine and uses only the HE Soap as recommended, never substituted. If the life expectancy of a washer with this type of use is 6.5 years, then I need to just go and buy another one at $1,200.

Here is what happened. Our laundry room is on first floor, the washer was running and was running its pre-balancing cycle to balance load before the major spin. I was on the second floor and I had heard quite a bit more noise than normal which includes the sound of metal on metal as the washer increased its spin speed. I did not pay much attention to it as it does make a lot of noise in the spin cycle. The next day my wife had issue with the washer not spinning and the pump would not pump. It sounded like it wanted to run but couldn't.

My son and I took the back of the machine off and disconnected the hoses. When we took the pump out we found misc chunk of what we thought were rocks. We were very puzzled, so we began to disassemble further. We removed the molded rubber tube that drains the water from the tub. This rubber piece was full of many 1.25" chunks of metal. We then looked closer at the smaller chunks we found in the motor and they were finer chunks of the metal. This must have originally been a cast part. I did a brief surf online and found there were other issues of the spider(?) weight being eaten away by the soap. Did not have a chance to research much yet, but I will likely tear it apart to find out the rest of the story.

Shown in the picture are some of the large chunks and some of the small ones found in the motor. I want to pass this along to anyone thinking of buying this machine. With less use it may last longer. I am quite sure I will end up buying another of these front loaders, but will try a different manufacturer. Not recommended.

When they were delivered the technician used my old dryer hook up and hose but I was charged for new ones. I finally got credited back for this bogus charge. The first time I used the washer there was dirt and water left in the tub, I had to run the washer on an empty load to try to rid the water and dirt however I have been told this is normal (from their customer support). It took almost 4 hours to dry 2 towels.

I went back to Home Depot and they called Samsung and made me talk to the customer service who then informed me I would have to go home and call them back and they would then "troubleshoot" over the phone. I had the set for less than 24 hours and now had to deal with this. When I did this they said they would have to send technicians out to my house and try to fix them. I did a second load and got black stuff from the washer all over my clothes. Again, almost 4 hours to dry a very small load of clothes. Home depot wasn't willing to do anything since it had been "used". I am now donating the set to a charity and buying another washer and dryer. I will never ever buy another Samsung product again.

Heard something let go during spin cycle. Turned machine off immediately. Husband talked to appliance repair shop to see if there was a belt he could buy. They said it's all self-contained and an error message would appear if something was wrong. Washed another load to see what happened. Noticed a strong odor or chemical in the drum after it completed successfully. Noticed small bits of rubber in the drum as well. Moved the flexible rubber seal and noticed that it was disintegrating and part was gone. The white plastic under it was also getting rough.

This machine is about 7 years old. I have had it for a couple years. It had 2 previous owners. I have been happy with it till now. I always leave the door open between uses to let it dry out so it doesn't get moldy. I regularly drain the hose on the bottom and use a rag to clean out the drain that seems to accumulate black moldy water and debris. I don't think that's a problem though.

    Updated on 6/21/2015

We had noticed that the spin cycle was louder than it had been and had discovered the disintegration of the door boot gasket, but didn't connect the uneven rotation that was observed with the disintegration of the gasket. We ordered a new gasket and installed it and started the washer and it tore up the new gasket and the noise it made was awful and smoke was inside the drum. Had we realized when the drum first started making more noise than it had been that the problem was the "spider arm" or whatever the framework on the back of the drum is called that failed causing the drum to rotate unevenly, we may have been able to get it repaired and save the washer. My husband saw a video after the fact that showed the spider arm cracked and that's what made it go around unevenly. Live and learn. We found ignorance is costly.

After calling Samsung and days later of them trying to find out where these numbers are supposed to be (inside the bottom of the door on the front load washer) the service guy said our warranty was voided because these numbers were gone. I called Samsung and asked them if there was anything they could do? No they said. I asked if they could send a new sticker with the numbers that I could put on the outside of the machine? They said No. I asked what it would cost to fix the machine. They said it would be around $1000.00 and could go up to $1500.00.

I spent right at $2000.00 for the machine 3 years ago so no, I swore I'll never buy Samsung again because they wouldn't help. Called Lowe's and sent service who recommended replacing. 2nd unit does same thing except now Samsung wants to bill $75 for each service visit. (Already been out twice). Keep telling mom there is "nothing wrong" with unit (seriously want us to believe it's acceptable to move so much that it crosses room every few weeks and blocks the door?!?) even though it's on level floor and unit is level.

We have put on a rubber mat, still walks. Now have 75 pounds of weight in the pedestal drawer which has reduced but not stopped the movement. When mom calls Samsung just tells her $75 to come look. She can't afford that. Samsung needs to 1) Send out a tech without charge to her. 2) Provide a unit that doesn't move without adding mats and weights. If their model design is flawed and all units do this they need to provide a different model or restitution and we'll buy another brand. Really feel like they are taking advantage of an old lady!

I will admit, I have had a Samsung dryer for 5 years so far but I don't use it heavily - maybe once a week if that. During the first 3 years, the belt broke and I had to replace it (easy fix, but annoying). Two years have gone by and now it seems that the metal drum is coming apart at the seams (literally - there's a large crack in the seam - see photo). That crack is causing the drum to be out of round and the dryer makes a loud thumping noise on each revolution.

When I say research, look for this specific problem and you will find literally thousands of reports and videos of the same thing happening with Samsung products. Now, I am faced with the issue to repair (at a cost of $400+) or cutting my losses and replacing it with something else. I started the research into replacing with a different brand and it seems LG dryers are having some of the same issue. Samsung will do absolutely NOTHING for you outside of the warranty. I purchase ON June 3, 2006 a Samsung Washer Model # WF316LAS/XAA, Serial # ** and Dryer from Lowe’s. I have called Samsung several times over the years. It has been recalled. Their site even states that my machine is one of the affected washing machines. I have gotten no satisfaction from Samsung all these years and my washer was still under warranty when this recall was issued. Samsung has refused to stand behind their product or fix it and I have not been able to use my washer since 2007. What is the problem? Recall: From Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Maytag and Samsung Brand Front Loading Washing Machines On 2007/03/21, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published a recall regarding Maytag and Samsung Brand Front Loading Washing Machines due to a potential fire & burn hazard.

This product sold new beginning in April 2005 for about $1000.00 to $1200.00. About 300,000 units are involved in this Samsung washer recall. Instance(s) of fires have been reported. This was the 1st recall of products in the Washing Machines category in 2007. Samsung's response to this recall was to issue a GFCI Plug and have the owner plug the machine into it to prevent electrical shock or fire - This did not take care of the main problem, the water leak; it fried my circuit board after my warranty ran out. Now they want me to pay them to repair / replace the circuit board and if I want to have the water leak repaired I have to pay them to do that. I did not see any water leak as I saw no water under the machine. The water leak was a slow leak which eventually fried my circuit board. Note: I reported this to Samsung while my machine was still under warranty.

This was done in 2007 But the water leak was not taken care of. I did not know at this time that I had a water leak and on faith I took Samsung’s word that it was taken care of. I responded to this with Samsung and they sent me a GFCI plug (Electrical) to fix a Water leak. This did not fix the water leak problem. They stated in the recall: Water leakage onto the electrical connections to the washing machine's thermal sensor could cause an electrical short and ignite a circuit board, posing a fire hazard to consumers. Instance(s) of fires have been reported. Samsung stated: I see that installing the GFCI plug did not fix the water leak issue. This was back in 2007 when I turned this in and I have been given the runaround from Samsung. No a GFCI plug is for an electrical leak not a water leak. The water leak has fried the circuit board and the washing machine has been dead since 2007.

A GFIC plug is to prevent electrical fires and electrocutions. It has nothing to do with stopping a water leak. On 8-2-2013 I had to call Samsung at 10:30 AM as they did not call first thing like they said. I called and got ** who then transferred me to ECR. I then spook to ** of ECR. She stated that Samsung will not take care of any repair at their cost, because it was out of warranty. She said that I would have to pay for everything. She stated that since I did not report a water leak in the beginning, (I did not see the water leak you have to open up the machine to see it and that would void my machine), that it was my responsibility and not theirs for their faulty product. She asked what I thought should be done and I said repair it or replace it at their cost seeing that it was a manufacturing defect that caused all my safety problems. She said there was no way that Samsung would do any of that and that was final.

She was rude and she would not listen. She did not care about the customer, only the black line. She said she was going to hang up on me and she did. Resent GFCI Plug August 5, 2013. After ** of ECR, Samsung, refused to have my washer repaired at their cost, Samsung in all their wisdom sent me another GFCI plug to repair the water leak and to prevent electrical fires or shock. Again, in the letter sent with it, they write: “Water leakage onto the electrical connections to the washing machines thermal could cause an electrical short and ignite a circuit board, posing a fire hazard.” Samsung Customer Relations Called for a Prorate Refund on August 20, 2013. Samsung called and a ** left a message on my phone, which was not complete and was incomprehensible.

She stated, from what I could understand, that Samsung would be willing to give me a refund of 10%, prorated for each year of ownership, for a machine that I have not been able to use for several years (April 2007), because Samsung did not repair the water leak as stated in the initial recall. This prorated refund gives me a value of about $578 with a loss of about $622. And this is what Samsung says I am worth for a repair which should have been done correctly in 2007 the time of the recall. And when I called for the first time. Samsung sent their Band-Aid fix of a GFCI and stated that my water leak was fixed, which I questioned Samsung in 2007. They again stated that the water leak was fixed. It was not fixed. ** left an incomplete E-mail address which I think is (**). The rest is unintelligible and I am not sure of the beginning. Today June 5, 2015 I get another run around from Samsung:

"Dear Darrell **, I apologize for the frustrations and inconveniences you have experienced. In order to proceed with your claim you will need to provide photos of the damages and a professional estimate from a licensed contractor and / or professional cleaning company for repair of the damages. If you have medical bills relating to this washing machine please send the medical bills that include documentation of the treatment received. You may provide these documents to me directly at my contact information below **. Be sure to send the items as attached .jpeg or .pdf files and when emailing photos, send only 1 - 2 at a time to ensure delivery. Please be sure to include the transaction number - ** along with your first and last name in the subject line of the email. If you have any other questions or concerns, please call 1-800-SAMSUNG. Thanks for being a Samsung customer and have a great day!"

All this information about my claim has been sent more than once and now they want me to do it again. They were told, while my machine was under warranty, that this recall happened and that my machine quit working back in 2007. There was no fire, no injuries, just that my machine quit and I asked them to repair it. Thank You for your time.

When I asked to speak to "the powers that be" the female agent assured me she was as high as I could go - high trained, she called herself. I do no gardening, etc. that would create exceptional stains and so forth. My white clothes are dingy and gray no matter what kind of detergent and additives I use. The colors are even less clean and more dull looking. To get a really clean wash, I have to go to a Laundromat. In fact, often the clothes aren't even covered with water. I usually have to wash them again because dirt/sand is sitting on top of the finished load. My way of overcoming this problem is to carry dishpans of water out to the washer (which is also how I dispense bleach - if I use the bleach dispenser, the next load is GUARANTEED to have bleach spots.) I feel that I've gone back to my grandmother's way of washing. I REALLY, REALLY hate this "washing" machine!

A tech was sent out and couldn't fix it and the entire machine had to be replaced. On 5/28/2015 this happened again. After searching the internet I've learned that this is a common problem for this washer which is experienced by tens of thousands of customers (see https://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/samsung_washer.html). It has to do with a defective water pump design that Samsung really should have done a product recall on.

I called Samsung for service and they said someone would call me yesterday to schedule service for today. Instead, I had to call them this morning and was told by the repair service that they would not be able to come until next Friday (6/5) and even at that they would have to order the part (another couple weeks) and then come back an install it (another couple weeks). This is just plain unacceptable. I did not pay nearly $2K for a washer / dryer set that does not even last as long as some cheap $300 Kenmores that I had way back in the day and that lasted 20 years. With little kids running around the house and this washer possibly flooding at any time, the house could be at risk for water damage or people at risk of electrocution at any time. I'll never buy any Samsung product ever again. Never again!!!

Samsung HE washer - Had to buy a washer in a hurry as my old one died with a full load in it. I didn't review this like I usually do. I went to the store intending to buy a different washer but changed my mind the last minute because I thought this machine could hold so much more because it didn't have the center agitator- BIG MISTAKE!

    1) The water doesn't cover the clothes. I have to add 2 buckets of water manually each load as the machine won't let you add more water.
    2) I can't fully open the lid because it hits my cabinet above. This makes it difficult to add the detergent.
    3) After reading the manual, it says "do not wash shoes". I always wash my gardening shoes after gardening.
    4) If you don't like the lack of agitation once it starts, you can't change the setting to something with more agitation without completely draining the machine. The manual doesn't tell you this. If you ask me, no cycle agitates enough.
    5) After washing my socks after cutting the lawn, not only were my white socks still green but the grass was still on them.
    6) I am only 5'1" & because this machine is very deep, I have to stretch & stand on my toes to reach the items on the bottom.
    7) Water remains in the detergent dispenser after the load is complete, a perfect breed for mold.

    9) When I do a cold water load, I like to add just a little warm water so it's not ice cold. You can't change the temperature once it starts so there is no mixing of temperatures.

I decided to write my review after using it a few times to be fair. I did read many good reviews & I was hopeful I would get used to it but that didn't happen. This was a costly mistake for me. I can't afford to replace it. Maybe this will save someone else. Stick with the standard, center agitator & you'll have no regrets.

#WA400400PJHDWR/AA 02 is the model number for SAMSUNG VRT WASHER. PURCHASED: (BORN) September 2013,-(DIED) May 18th 2015... We always had an issue of it: RERINSINING EVERY LOAD, ADDING TIME, and the DC error code. Maybe every 20th load... It would complete a load without babysitting it by (STOPPING IT BEFORE IT ADDS MORE TIME), & RERINSES. But we would have to manually hand wring them out... to get rid of the excess water. Or hang the clothes on the clothesline, and let them solar dry. (Too heavy for the dryer). FINALLY... We call www.eliteappliance.com, a 5* Appliance Repair Company.

    1. RERINSES... To my surprise repairman says that some of the new HE washers are too smart (thinking that the clothes are still dirty, or too much soap... So it re rinses. Ok I guess, but to do it over and over again? Ok?

    2. DC ERROR CODE: Actually we were so busy talking about the 1st Issue, I forgot to inform him (and his company forgot to issue work order for DC error code)... About a week went by and I remembered, so I called and they came out and it was no charge. He checked the drum by pushing down on it, and his diagnosis was that we needed the drum shocks. (It took a week for parts to arrive from Tucson), he informed me it was going to be a two man job.

    3. May 18th, 2015 the two men come with the parts... Start the tear down and in the process of their diagnosis, THEY FOUND TWO MORE PROBLEMS: CONTROL BOARD & the ROTOR STATOR ASSEMBLY. So the appliance repairmen tell me... There was no sense in installing the shocks… That I should just shop for a new washer... After only 1 1/2 years of use of this SAMSUNG WASHER? WE HAD A WHIRLPOOL ROPER for 11 YEARS... Before we purchased the SAMSUNG. PLEASE MR. SAMSUNG, STICK TO MAKING CELL PHONES... YOUR WASHERS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE FLOWER POTS.

The rubber around the drum was found to have shredded and disintegrated and was mixed in with the laundry, all over the drum, and in all the drainage holes. Tech came and determined bolt that held basket in was defective. 2 techs told me basket system was defective. I called Samsung and while the basket is under warranty, they refused to pay for the bolt that attaches it and the labor even though the defective basket under warranty caused those issues!

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. Machine not spinning as it should: goes down to 12 minutes, then back up to 20 something. In order to get water out, I have to stop machine, hit spin only and half the time, water starts coming in while it says "spin only". So, I stand there and when it approaches minute 9, I stop machine. Restart spin and repeat until clothes are not soaking wet to put in dryer. Tech came and out another basket in. Didn't work still. Another tech came 3 days later, said water pump sounded bad and it's probably an electronic control board issue, too. Just got off phone with Samsung and they offered to send one of their techs here AT MY COST, and if there were repairs to be made it would be AT MY COST unless he found the machine defective. The cast aluminum part is not suitable for this service when it is bolted to a stainless steel drum. While it is repairable, the whole machine needs to be disassembled to clean out the debris and then replace all of the other damaged parts.
