We finally got an energy efficient washer. We weren’t used to no agitator but googled the difference. The newer washers push water through the clothes vs the old way of pushing the clothes through the water. It fills with only a fraction of water estimated by the weight of the articles. That scared us at first as it didn’t seem to add enough water to possibly wash clothes and get them clean. After more researching and doing loads of laundry. This Samsung has gotten the clothes much cleaner. I don’t like how it takes longer to wash clothes with these machines but it is what it is. The machine is very quiet vs our old ones. We no longer have to shut our laundry room door. We forget it’s even going until it plays a song when done.

I got the HE agitator-less washer from Costco for a grand. Works very well, uses little water and the drum is huge. Have to be tall enough to reach down to get the clothes out! Nice features for all different washes and no problems. Had Samsung washer before and I liked it so I went with another in this house.

My Samsung set is beautiful and crafted well.. mechanically works, spectacular and the options are great for the washer. It’s more the dryer I either don’t understand or is poor quality option wise. The drum light never stays on when I’m retrieving clothes and it often completes cycles although the clothes are still damp when run until dry option Is used. Cosmetic it’s a gorgeous set... bottom line washer exceeds dryers performance.

This type of machine does good for colored clothes but it doesn't do anything for whites. I have to use extra bleach and wash on heavy to get them a decent white. This is because it lacks an agitator. I would not recommend this type of washer although I do like Samsung.

My Samsung washer is one of the worst washers ever. Twist up your clothing. Does not clean right. Does not fill up with water like old washers. I have had to replace the WASHING MACHINE MOTOR & INVERTER ASSEMBLY twice and WASHING MACHINE REAR ROD & SPRING ASSEMBLY four times. I would suggest keeping your old-time washers. That washed great, lasted forever and was made in the USA.

Front loader started having problems after about 18 months. Samsung did send out one Serviceman that was totally useless, didn't listen to one word we said and off he went. Complained again and second guy was more helpful but we are limited to Delicate or Towel Selection to keep the machine from totally going into orbit during the Spin Cycle. There is still definitely something wrong with this machine but it would cost as much to repair it as to replace it. A consumer has the expectations on a purchase of a washing machine that it would certainly last more than 18 months. Samsung should be ashamed of themselves. Buyers would be wise to stay away from this brand. They do make a good tv though.

Constantly goes off balance and washer needs to be stopped to readjust load even after serviceman balances it. Easy to use but paint is easily scratched if laundry basket is set on top and removed without lifting straight up so any other kind of contact would probably take paint right off. Getting correct amount of liquid detergent for load is difficult to eyeball. Disappointed in extended warranty, company does not send a reminder and only warranty to purchase is 5 year for $500, I'll just put $100 away each year since the washer is only a 400-500 value, depending upon where you buy it. The machine works well after 3 years now and the only real issue I have is that it doesn't stay in balance. Would I buy it again, yes, if it extends past a 10-15 year mark like my previous washers have. My Kenmore lasted for over 20 years so I'm hoping I will hit that mark with my Samsung.

Without the center cylinder things like this can tangle, but not so in this setting. The spin cycle does a great job. Much less dryer time is needed. The water jet inside the washer is super handy to touch up items with a stain before the load. I wondered if I would use the deep fill water option since my old machine used a lot more water. But I have not felt the need to use it yet, this washer gets clothes nice and clean without all the extra water. I love that it reminds me when it is time to clean the machine. Doesn't Samsung look at their results before unleashing it on the public? There is no way to cut back on the worst wrinkled clothes since washing machines were invented? I've tried all the cycles and nothing keeps the clothes from being tangled together and mauled during the spin cycle. Don't buy Samsung. You'll hate their products because they suck.

The Dryer does not steam or dry the clothing. The only way to get the dryer to completely dry the clothing is to use the manual settings...and the steamer function does not work...period. It worked good for two years and suddenly stopped working and always hang up and got stuck at the beginning of washer cycle. I called manufacturer, they recommended to call technician, technician came and recommend to order and replace control board ($260+ labor). Waited two weeks for parts to arrived from Korea. He came and replaced control board and thought it would work and left.

I tried to wash my clothes and left with half wet clothes and same machine problem. Rescheduled appointment. Technician came and recommended to order and replace motor stator ($160+ labor). Waited for two weeks again, he came and replaced the new part. The washer still acts the same way. I guess I replaced two good parts for nothing. He said he can keep on replacing parts till it works or buy new machine. I am so disappointed with #Samsung washer quality and their troubleshooting routine. The damage is beyond repair, the front outer shell was dented outwards approx 1 1/2", the right side 1", left side big dent, the rear of the appliance 3-4". This was the second major issue with this unit. The first was the drain hose disconnected during use. Flooded our basement. This when we found out about the recall. Went through the process, were suppose to receive money, all we got was extended 1 year warranty and told not to use the bedding cycle as the machine could not handle this cycle. Now we find out there is a class action lawsuit against Samsung, which we definitely will processing a claim. My advise is do not purchase Samsung appliances, they make a good tvs and cell phones. We've probably owned a dozen washer and matching dryer models over the past 40 years. After 3 or 4 years, I sell and replace before they start having problems. Mostly Whirlpool and Maytags. Unfortunately, I had a moment of weakness and bought a Samsung pair during a Lowe's sale. Both have been terrible. The dryer blows the bi-metal thermal switches. I keep spares but it requires dissembling the unit to replace.

The washer with no agitator does a poor job of washing. Small loads, large loads and in-between loads get out of balance, throw an unbalanced load code UE, shuts down and requires rearranging whatever you are washing. The temporary fix is to replace the 4 suspension rods as the springs weaken with use. Fortunately they aren't hard to replace because a service call repair will set you back about what you paid for the machine new. Both units are made in China. Suppose to have a 10 year warranty but evidently it only covers the name plate because nothing else is. There was a recall or class action settlement regarding exploding Samsung washers. Other than an acknowledgement letter that my unit was covered, never heard anything else. Samsung should stick to building cell phones.

Samsung washer needed rubber boot seal around front load door. On top load washers the “spider legs” on the base of the machine are made of pot metal. These legs/arms hold the shaft that turns the drum. They all will rust/deteriorate in a short time from water/dampness. Very poor engineering. Samsung dryer DV210AEW/CAA purchased 2011 has needed a new belt tensioner because the ball bearings in it failed. It also needed a new heating coil because the original one “exploded” or popped. Finally my 45” Samsung tv stopped working. There are 3 main circuit boards behind the screen. One of the boards went bad and I learned that it was because of the capacitors on the board which (no kidding) are made in North Korea.

By 2019 it became out of balance, wobbly and must/mold smell constantly. Thanksgiving 2019 it ran sounding like a jet landing and vibrating terribly.. Quit using and fell back on old, small Kenmore saved from years ago.

In short: $1250.00 got us 5 years of use and lots of smelly laundry. A 10 year Direct Drive warranty is a joke as it only covers parts in the motor assembly. The part is the spider assembly which is around $80-$130 (covered). However, to get to the part is not covered nor other parts the broken assembly ruined. Estimate received: $130 for Diagnosis, $85 shredded outer seal from broken spider arm, $15 seal ring, $75 worn shocks from wobbling, $285 service repair time for technician. That is around $600 for an $85 part so, of course buy a new machine. What a racket!

After our Samsung frontload washer started walking about and finally failed I disassembled it enough to find that the "spider flange" had failed. This piece holds the drum in place and was made of poor quality "pot metal" and virtually dissolved over 7 years {should be built of stainless steel or polymer). When I contacted Samsung they told me that they had never had this type of failure. After a quick Youtube search I found that this is a chronic problem with their washer design and the fix is both complicated and expensive. They would provide no assistance even on the replacement part.

I will not buy another Samsung appliance ever again. After having a problem with our 3 year old Samsung fridge the repairman last year told us that these appliances are built to last 10 years at best so don't spend extra money on brand names like Samsung who tout for example on their washers' "10 year warranty on direct drive motor". Just after a year the machine was vibrating to the point that it seemed like it would take off to space. There was a recall shortly after. All the tech did for servicing was just change the sticker, so you could only spin things at low cycle and never replaced any parts. After 5 years and 6 months the machine failed. It failed with an 4E code and then lead to water leak. Called Samsung and they washed their hands off. Saying I'm no longer under warranty. They provided no support over the phone. Also threatened to remove the motor warranty if I didn't call their service of choice. I did call their certified technician only to be told they are NOT Samsung certified. Samsung sent out a repair technician from Sears Appliance Repair, and that took over 2 weeks from the phone call. He said he’d have to order a control module, another 2 weeks. He put it on and left, and it was still showing an 8 C error code, wouldn’t finish a cycle. Called Sears Repair, said we’d have to start over and contact Samsung. Started all over again with a work order, another 2 weeks, and the technician told us it was probably the Mems Sensor. Ordered that, waited another week, replaced the Mems Sensor, still throwing the 8C error code. Finally took it to an appliance repair shop. We were told everything checked out but that it could be the wiring harness, which had to be ordered from overseas and could take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months.

This washer is fine when it works, but if something goes wrong, most repair services aren’t familiar with it and you’re throwing money down the drain. We purchased the washer on sale for $800, and we’ve put over $500 in repairs since it was a few weeks out of warranty. We can spend another $300 and possibly wait 6 months to be repaired, but we just decided to eat the loss and bought a Speed Queen washer for a few hundred more with a 10 year warranty on all parts and labor. Samsung is not a good company to work with for appliances. We will never buy another Samsung or any foreign built machines again.

Samsung appliances are THE WORST appliances on the market for the price you pay. My front-load Samsung gave me problems after only two years. I live by myself and wash two to three loads a week. After only two years, an error code kept coming up. I would cut the washer off and unplug it for ten minutes, then it would run, sort of. Soooo, I unplugged it again and took off the front top panel where the electronics were situated. After carefully looking at a connection, I unplugged it and examined the condition of the terminals. One terminal was really corroded and could not be repaired.

I did a bypass by connecting a wire to the wire that went into the corroded terminal on both sides, and installed a terminal on the new wire so it could be disconnected if service was needed again. The washer worked fine for one year. Then the water pump went. I replaced it. Then a year later that water pump went. I replaced it again. Now the spider-arm went bad. I went to wash a small mat today and it couldn’t even wash it before it went out on vibration overload and wouldn’t work again until I reset it! Dish had come out to install something on it and well that didn’t work! This is ridiculous that I spent good money on a washing machine and now can’t even wash my clothes properly! It takes all day just to do a load, plus the matching dryer is working overtime just to dry them. Samsung needs to do what’s right and replace these junk washers. We bought this washer in 2013. We are a family of 3 and after only 5 years of average use we are in the market for a new washer. The drum no longer spins and is constantly out of balance. My husband has googled the problem and it's not new. We tried everything they said to re-balance - replace parts and it still does not work. I would like to think that an appliance should last with average use more than 5 years. It's very disappointing and we will never buy a Samsung again.

My washer recently broke which I need to repair myself, as the cost for service on this issue would be over-the-top. I'm certain it's a rotten drum support/flange that I need to replace, in addition to other possible parts. I've had issues on/off with this washer, shaking, foul odors even post-sanitizing, mold on trim, etc. The electronics have not failed, but the housing/drum parts are not high quality and certainly shouldn't be used in an area exposed to water. The exterior of internal drum (you can't see) gets covered in mold/fungus, and the support parts/hardware literally crumble from water exposure, including the bolts. It WILL fail and break at some point, it's inevitable. Samsung knew the parts would corrode, but used anyway. I'm certain when people call a repairman for an estimate, they choose to throw it in the landfill due to the exorbitant cost of repairing, due to labor. It's a PAIN in butt to replace that part.

It's unfortunate that an entire machine is wasted because of a broken support piece due to corrosion. HELLO - it's a WASHING machine guys - use materials that don't corrode in an area that has water! Samsung should think more about waste down the road, and also realize consumers aren't that stupid - most will learn of the quality issues and choose a different brand, not necessarily replace with another Samsung. By the way, dryer broke a few years ago. I diagnosed 2 issues which I replaced myself. Took me close to a month to figure out when I had time, but likely saved me from a $500 repair, costing me around 30 bucks. Again, bad parts. Let's hope I can get this washer fixed and keep these things going!

I said that is too long but they said that's their process. Then on Wed morning, said a tech would be coming. An hour later, get a call saying not until Friday. They asked if that was okay, I said no, they said too bad. In September 2017 we purchased a suite of Samsung appliances, dishwasher, microwave, washer, dryer, range and refrigerator. We only purchased an extended warranty on the fridge because the new compressor technology had shown issues in other brands as well as Samsung. In only 17 months the clothes washer began shutting off at different times and making a clicking sound reminiscent of a turn signal relay in a vehicle. When it did run the clothes would have white smudges from un-rinsed clothes that required re-washed. We had not heard the musical notes common with a completed load but had not realized it was missing. Instead the machine had to be unplugged repeatedly just to get a single load done but the clicking didn't stop for a couple of minutes. On plugging the unit back into the socket the machine returned to the rinse/spin cycle indicator lights indicating this was a trouble spot in any cycle.

Calls to Samsung's 800 number resulted in instructions repeatedly to calibrate the machine and an email on how to do so. Unfortunately the model wasn't even listed on the instruction sheet so interpretation was needed. This went on for a six week period until someone with a listening impediment and strong middle Eastern accent answered. He repeatedly either wrote numbers down wrong or couldn't read his own writing as I had to repeatedly give him numbers and descriptions of the issue. After a long tortuous phone call I was given an 866 number for a service agent who would call within 48 hours.

After about 72 hours and no call we called the number given by Samsung. Lo and behold it is Dish In-Home service who is apparently the only authorized service agent for Samsung. We are now slated for an in home repair by the same guy who punched numerous holes in our foundation and mounted a dish on the roof pointed at the wrong satellite resulting in an extra mount that will take a roofer to remove. More on Dish repairs later I give a review on either way.

It washes clothes with too little water in the tank that there is no way it can wash anything clean. The washer just spins the clothes back-and-forth without any flipping. The clothes near its bottom maybe get cleaned, but the majority of the clothes are not touched. And there are no programs in the machine you can select to make this better.

Simply put, Samsung Washer is not designed to wash clothes clean. The only thing the machine does is to soak and spin dry. Most of the people who bought Samsung's washer probably do not realize the machine cannot do a good job cleaning. If you change clothes every day, your clothes never get too dirty, and you may not notice that the Samsung machine cannot do a good cleaning job. I used a GE washer before and I watched how my GE washer worked. You only need a common sense to judge which is better. Many people found a workaround by buying older, higher quality drums but Samsung figured that out and discontinued that replacement drum, forcing owners to try and repair drums themselves or suck it up and buy another replacement drum from Samsung (usually every 2-3 years). This Samsung washer - WF45R6100AC – was purchased from Lowe’s along with five-year warranty and installed by XPO (Lowe’s uses XPO for northeast delivery/installation services). I was not happy with the installation. It was slightly rocking at one corner (not the other) and the guy didn’t level the machine. I called the Lowe’s and had XPO come again. But now it rocks on both sides after they leveled it and XPO says I am rocking the machine too hard. I am not, and before, it was only rocking on one side! Make sure you get the installers to level the machine because the first thing manufacturers ask you if you call them with a problem is if it is level. Getting to the washer:

    Pros:

    1) The washer is very quiet, especially in spin cycle. But it does make noise in spin cycle when using small load, because all front-load washers have trouble with underloads and overloads. Draining noise is also quieter than others.

    2) Vibration control works better than other washers. But don’t be fooled, there is still some floor vibration if you stand next to the washer, even in low spin speed setting(see below)!

    3) Has a nifty spring based button at the door to keep it ajar to dry better after washing.

    Cons:

    1) Does not clean well. I feel the washer does not clean clothes very well. I had jeans used for yard work having grass stains at the bottom that were completely cleaned with our old Whirlpool front-load Duet. But with this Samsung, I still saw grass stains remain even after three washes. It faded more after the second wash, but no results after that. Nonetheless, not a complete clean like the old washer. The type or amount of detergent was not changed. If the old washer cleaned like this Samsung, the jeans bottom would have been a greener color after couple of months.

Maybe the warm wash isn’t really warm enough. Or maybe, the lack of a more thorough cleaning is because it spends most of the time in wash cycle, where there is little water, and rinse cycles are very, very short. Short as in maybe about 30 seconds at most. Our old Whirlpool which cleaned clothes much better spent at least five minutes in each of the two rinse cycles. I wish the new 2019 Whirlpools weren’t so vibration prone (we tried two already).

    2) Uses too much water? I couldn’t believe the amount of water this washer uses in rinse cycles. The washer rinsed laundry with water for more than one minute in the final rinse cycle. I believe the washer uses more water for each rinse cycle than it does for the entire wash cycle.

    3) VRT issues. I noticed a curious thing with this washer. The washer rinses the laundry with water in final spin cycle! I have observed it doing this at least at two different times within the same spin cycle. I find that this happens when there is an uneven drum, but I also noticed it with an empty drum. I believe the washer does it in order to use that extra water to help balance out an uneven drum, to reduce vibrations in spin cycle. This is how a top-loader tries to mitigate an uneven drum, by using water to shift the weight around. I asked Samsung support and they claim to not know about this and told me to contact the store, I am assuming for a return or an exchange because it is brand new.

But I don’t think Samsung is divulging the truth here because it would be bad for sales. What this ultimately does is dampen the same clothes which you are trying to drain off water. I had to dry a full laundry spun at Medium spin cycle in the Samsung for more than two hours when the same clothes wouldn’t have taken more than 40 minutes to dry after being spun at Medium spin in the old washer. In Low spin cycle, the water rinse is about seven seconds before the spin cycle ends, which makes the situation even worse than Medium cycle. And because of washer’s ability to somewhat balance the load in spin cycle, I believe the washer takes on more uneven distribution of loads around the drum before final spin, with the goal of spending less time trying to distribute clothes.

    4) Deceptive spin speed. In the advertised specifications, the max spin speed was listed at 1200 RPM. I tried a Quick wash cycle with about 4lbs of laundry. The washer automatically uses High spin as the default spin setting for Quick wash and Heavy Duty cycles. However, I observed abnormal vibrations, especially at the top of the washer. I immediately called Samsung ‘Stop Sign’ support and asked them how much speed was used for High spin. To my surprise, she said it was 1600 RPM! I asked how much Medium speed was and she said 800 RPM. She didn’t have data for Medium-High spin setting. I assume the listed 1200 RPM is for Medium-High setting, which is the default spin speed setting for Normal cycle and majority of other cycles.

Also, even when using Low speed, the washer seems to spin very fast such that I don’t really know what is the difference between these spin speed settings. Personally, I don’t think there is a speed difference in RPM between Medium-High, Medium, and Low spin speed. The only difference between them seems to be the amount of time each spin setting spends at the highest RPM. High spin speed seems to be the only one with a different spin speed, and quite high at that. This is important because we have vibration issues and if the washer is still spinning at a very high RPM in Medium or Low spin setting, then what is exactly the point of those settings? We also purchased the washer with the hope that Medium-High spin setting would be around 1000 RPM, like our old washer, not 1200 RPM.

    5) Door banging. This is a minor or major issue, but in the beginning of spin cycle, the door bangs out from the inside, almost like the laundry or drum is slamming at it. Doesn’t matter the size of the laundry. This alarms me because door’s inside is glass, and I am afraid it might break or crack. I have seen YouTube videos of other Samsung washers doing the same before entering spin.

    6) Display issues. The display is kind of a mess. The power button should be located in a different place than right above the start/pause button. I have accidentally touched the power button when wanting to pause only to end the entire cycle. Also, the ‘door lock’ indicator is the same color as the rest of indicators, and not very conspicuous. I wish it was red and more distinguishable. The installers originally tried to open when the door was locked, because they didn’t realize the door locked indicator was lit. Finally, the melody at the end of cycle gets a bit irritating with time. But the button to turn off the melody also turns off the end of cycle signal.

I wish there was a front-load washer without direct drive motor. All these new washers have them and they all have abnormal spin conditions and chooses to spin at a very high RPM, seemingly ignoring user input for spin setting. Our old belt-driven front-load was better at cleaning and with much less vibrations. I believe belt driven is better for vibration control because the belt adds additional support frame for the drum in the back, whereas with direct drive, the drum is free-floating in the back with a heavy motor installed at its back.

Some tips using a front-load: Always use HE soap in moderation. Leave the door completely open after washing until dryer is complete, then leave it slightly ajar. Always do the washer cleaning cycle monthly and give the rubber gasket and inside of the rubber gasket a wipe down with diluted bleach monthly. Another is loading clothes properly. You have to load the clothes front to back so they don’t turn into a ball of mass. And even though one can wash small items, I always find that the washer has trouble with balancing both the small loads and full drum loads. Even if somewhat balanced, there can be vibrations. Because in small loads, the weight will shift to one side more, and when full, the washer might be near its max weight-capacity. If one finds problems with small loads, try adding a couple of dry towels to help balance the load.

Additionally, I found an online Samsung resource that states the 2/3rd full drum is considered to be full load. Another online source says that a perfect load is where one can fit their hand above the laundry and touch the back of the drum. Essentially, a perfect load is considered such that only your hand and your laundry can fit inside the drum, drum about 3/4th full. I find that following this approach leads to most balanced drum during spin cycle of most washes, leading to the least vibrations. So, do not overload, and do not underload. We will be returning or exchanging the washer. I haven’t made up my mind yet solely because of the washer’s better vibration control when compared to others. Three stars for effort.

P.S. I originally submitted this review in Lowe’s.com first, but it seems they don’t want to publish it. So, be careful when reading online reviews as manufacturers and dealers will not publish critical reviews. This is why there are so many glowing reviews and little critical/negative reviews. I understand, it’s business, and they have to sell the item.

Also, the manual is JUST AS BAD AS THE WASHER! "Clean the interior of the machine following the instructions"... NO instructions. IF I COULD RATE THIS WASHING MACHINE ZERO STARS, I WOULD. I will never buy another Samsung appliance of any kind!!!!! Samsung should stick to electronics, not appliances. Although seriously considering not buying any more Samsung ANYTHING!!!

I bought a new front loading washing machine and dryer on 9/1/2018. After three months the washer started vibrating on the spins cycle. The tech, who has now been out four times to fix the problem told me that the washer was not designed to sit on the drawer cabinet and that is why it vibrates. Then he told me that if I used a slower spin speed it would stop the vibration. The last service call the tech said I should do smaller loads. Now I am having a problem with the dryer. Fabric gets stuck between the drum and the housing. The tech was supposed to be here on 4/16/2019. I stayed home all day and no one showed up. I asked Home Depot to take them back and issue a refund. The Home Depot will only take the machines back for 90 days. After that Samsung has to agree to take the machines back. NOT HAPPY.

It is Memorial Day weekend also again and I still not received my refund check for my washing machine a year later. I have spent hundreds of hours on the phone with Samsung trying to get this resolved. Buy it from H. H. Gregg or which went belly-up and is no longer open!

Original Review: I have been on the phone with them over 50 times. Have not had any progress at all with getting my money returned to me over this hunk of junk washing machine and I'm not able to wash any clothes. I've made text messages which I have saved. I have also emails from them explaining all this sending them pictures. Have been on hold over 50 times. I have been disconnected. I have been transferred. Since we were 2 months out of warranty, I had no choice to call a local service person. However, in my area no one will work on Samsung appliances. Finally found one person that would attempt to look at it and said the PCB board was the common issue. Had that replaced with same results. I don't have a problem with the actual washing capability. This is my second Samsung washing machine. The first one had no issues with labeling so something has changed with how they print the labels on the machine. The issue I have is that the printing around the knob wipes right off. No special cleaners, or excessive rubbing. I use a wet paper towel and the letters just wipe away like I'm wiping them off a dry erase board. The only cleansers that could have gotten on these letters would be washing machine detergents. I would think that when a company makes a washing machine, they would consider the fact that detergent could get dripped on it. We have had the machine less than a year. My last machine I had four about 10 years and never had any issues like this.

When I called Samsung to report this issue, all they could do is give me a phone number to a parts company where I could purchase a new part. They call it a "cosmetic issue." To me, a cosmetic issue is something purely aesthetic due to normal wear and tear that doesn't affect the operability of the machine. This label is literally the way you know which cycle you are selecting for your wash. Once the letters are all the way gone, I guess you could try to hold the manual right next to the knob and count clicks to try and get the right cycle. That isn't a cosmetic issue. That is absolutely an issue with the operation of the machine.

Even worse is the "solution" to this "cosmetic issue" is that I would have to purchase additional parts. I don't really want to spend additional money to purchase a part that will likely do the same thing in a month or two. What a racket! Someone buys a washer, and then every couple months has to buy a new part so they know which cycle they're selecting. How absurd! I don't care to spend more money with them at this point. I am going to use a label maker and a Sharpie and attempt to label the cycles as best I can. However, I feel like this is something I shouldn't have to do in order to use my washer that is less than a year old to do my laundry.

There is a lip on the ring around the top that apparently holds water. Samsung said that we would have to pay the costs to repair it. No washing machine should have rust like this. The lip is hidden and doesn't show until you start looking underneath it. This is a poor engineering design and have read reviews with many having the same problem. We will have to buy a new one, as it will cost more to repair than to replace, but it will not be a Samsung. This is the first foreign appliance and it will be the last. They then tried to double bill both us and Samsung for the visit, saying Samsung would not cover the service call. We ended up getting their useless service call covered, but not until after a total of 46 phone calls, emails and voicemails to/from Samsung, repair companies. Samsung sent out a different appliance company, who brought the part with them and repaired the appliance in a single visit (no inspection necessary) with a total repair time of 15 minutes. The washer was recalled because it could fly apart and hurt or kill you and the fix was to put another tag on it and a bolt or two and tell you not to use it on the speed you expected. The washer rusted so bad that it looks like a car that has been sitting out in the field for the last forty years. This is the absolute worst product I have ever bought. September 2018 - washing machine craps out. When set on small or medium load, the tub starts to fill up. But once it reaches its intended level, it switches to extra large load, fills up the tub and then sits there, doing nothing. Called Lowe's, where we bought it. They said, "So sorry, the 1 year warranty expired last month." We have to call Samsung. Called Samsung. They said there are no local Samsung repair providers, and give us the number of the "closest" one - I use quotes, because the number they gave us was from Oklahoma City. We live in Iowa. Took matters into our own hands, and called a mom and pop shop. They made one attempt. It didn't work, then said they had to order parts.

I won't go into the details, but the back and forth with the mom and pop shop for the status of the parts went on for several months. They blamed Samsung (this does not surprise me), but I also did not get the indication that this shop was running on all cylinders. FINALLY, earlier this month (Feb 2019), parts arrive. The main part needed was a new control card. The repairmen swap things out, and presto, our washing machine is back up and running! Yay! No more than 2 WEEKS LATER, we are back at square one. HOWEVER, as a washing machine it is the worst product I have ever heard of, seen, or used. The point of a washing machine is to get your clothes clean, correct? Well, it fails on all levels. I suspect its water-saving feature is mostly to blame because the water is not high enough to submerge anything. Allegedly, this is not supposed to matter and the clothes will be clean anyway. But I tell you, if I put something in that has visible dirt on it, such as food or barf, when I take it out after the wash it looks like I put the item outside in a puddle and let it sit for an hour. The end. The self clean feature is a joke, it takes a long time and leaves garbage in the bottom of the drum that I have to physically wipe out with a paper towel.

Samsung top loader washer, dryer and the fridge have all had issues and within 26 months and a week apart the washer and dryer both have major repair issues. I am at a loss to replace. The drain pump has broken during a spin cycle and the dryer makes an awful noise. The pump for washer alone is over $100 to replace ourselves. Purchased a Samsung fridge also and the middle pull out drawer for beverages and cold meats had its own thermostat that does not work so all food is nearly frozen. Will never purchase a Samsung product in my life.

I bought the above washer. I liked the feature and it worked great until one day (less than two years old) it started banging and rocking during the spin cycle. Getting Samsung support and their Local service company never happened as they could not get organized. After a week, I went with a local company. Bottom line, the Control board and motor were bad. $550 in parts alone + tax and shipping. If I had them repair it, it would have been $750. Had to take it to the curb.

The dryer I actually got an extended warranty. The motor went bad on this one. I had much trouble getting service. Between Samsung, THEIR warranty company and the same local service center, they could not seem to get organized enough to repair under warranty. After many attempts they eventually fixed it under warranty Bad motor. There is no reason that these appliances should be failing. I did submit reviews on the Samsung website, but they have not appeared. Seems like they are flagging bad reviews and keeping them off their site. I would never buy a Samsung product again. EVER.

Want to warn everyone who may be thinking about purchasing a Samsung Washer or Dryer. My Samsung washer went to the landfill 2 1/2 years after I bought it brand new at Best Buy. I replaced it with a Speed Queen (made in America) washer. Samsung would not fix or replace my washer. They made one attempt to fix but it wasn't fixed. The steel tub split in two, it wouldn't spin, the mold around the rubber door could not be fully cleaned. My clothes were never clean from day one. Now, my dryer is 3 years old and that no longer heats. I'm looking at my receipt right now and I paid $1,427.75. I was expected these appliances to be "durable goods". Stay away from Samsung. Problematic and they will not remedy.

I have a Samsung, top loading, no agitator, HE washer that I absolutely hate! The only way to get the clothes clean (or sometimes even wet) is to do every load on the heavy duty setting and to pile all the clothes on one side so it senses that it’s really full. If you don’t do this there will always be soap debris on anything dark which is a real pain! I would never buy this washer again. Oh I almost forgot... it was also recalled because the bolts holding the drum would break off and shoot through the top of the washer! When this fix was done they put a new label on my dial that changed settings.

I bought this machine on sale at Lowe's. My only complaint is the level of vibration. I solved that with simple rubber feet that hold the machine nicely in place, though the vibration is still there. If I had know that I could have bought a Speed Queen locally, I would have done that, instead.

Not enough water or agitation to do the job. Very difficult to reach items on the bottom. Seems they are a bit over priced. I would definitely consider buying another brand in the future. Sorry I got these.

I have the Samsung front load washer/dryer pair. I've had it for over 5 years now. I've had some minor problems with it such as: when washing on the extra long cycle, the washing machine would pause and I'd had to push the button to make it continue, not sure why it does it for just that particular cycle. Secondly, when there is nothing in the washing machine, sometimes water leaks in the tub, randomly. I wish I had more options to make it the water temperature that I want to make it, instead it being pre-set for certain loads. I love the quietness of the washer and the alarm sound when it's done. I haven't had any trouble with the dryer, but I noticed it has gotten louder over the years.

Motor in the front loading washing machine disintegrated. When it broke apart, pieces went into the drum and dislodged it. The second repair was for the drum being dislodged and the bar that it rotates on broke. The front load dryer heating element has burnt out twice and was repaired. The repairs have all been after warranty expired. I have spent more to fix it than I paid for both units and I will not repair either again. I will never purchase front loaders again.

I love my washer which I've had about 18 months. My clothes come out nice and clean especially the whites. The trick to great looking laundry is let the washer decide how to wash your clothes after you select the type. The only complaint I have is the vibration noise it makes during the spin cycle. But other than that I would recommend this washer.

The Samsung top load I purchased doesn't seem to clean the clothes as well as my old agitator machine. It uses less water but clothes do not seem as clean.

Newer technology, like steam in the dryer and takes a little effort to learn how to use. Love the washer but one thing I miss is the ability to just spin dry something without the rinse cycle. Love the option of adding garments in middle of cycle though.
