First of all, I have not called a repairman yet. I have done a lot of troubleshooting by watching videos and reading. Looking at consumer reviews, it doesn't appear to be a lot the repairman can do about an unbalanced load. Anyway, for about 1 1/2 years, I have not had problems with my washer... until now. Regardless of the size of the load, it will go off balance every single time. As recommended, I properly place the clothes in the bottom of the tub, I add clothes, remove clothes, untangle clothes, level the load in the tub and STILL HAVE TROUBLE. Unfortunately, my washer doesn't offer the option to spin only. When I restart, it goes through another entire rinse and spin cycle causing me to use an unbelievable amount of water. I'm frustrated and will be making that dreaded call for a repairman.

Purchased a Samsung Top Load WA400 washer that WILL NOT SPIN to drain water W/O error code. I had a warranty with Conn's and it was repaired twice by them for the issue of not spinning. Third call for repair I was referred to Samsung to see if they would replace it. Samsung sent out their technician twice for the same exact issue. I have asked if they could replace the machine since I had it less than a year and I was told that I did not have enough evidence that this was the same problem although the documentation for all 4 repairs were the same that was sent in to both Conn's and to Samsung. Washer is broke down again and now I am told it does not have any warranty to replace and I would need to have a technician come out to repair it at my cost, but I should extend the warranty for repair. This washer is less than 2 years old.

The case/pump of my top loading wash machine broke and massive amount of water leaked everywhere. Samsung sent the replacement to the repair company, but without the wiring and other mounting kit that was needed to retrofit this problem. So not only am I unhappy with the washer after two years (with only two people at home using it), but Samsung doesn't know what it's doing with providing repair materials. Now I will be without a washer for almost a week.

A few years ago we had a Maytag (Gold series) washer and it broke down 13 months after we installed it. The motor leaked oil all over the laundry room floor. We were not going to make the same mistake twice so we went with a Samsung. We didn't know that Samsung was made by Maytag and 2 years later, we have another broken wash machine. The repair person we had with our Maytag told us that they build these so cheaply now. All the components are made in China without sufficient quality control. Brutal quality. Brutal customer service. Avoid Samsung and Maytag products if possible.

Samsung Dryer Front Load: Model Number DV350AEW/XAA - We purchased our dryer and washer combo less than 3 years ago. Recently the dryer sounds like we have a pair of tennis shoes in it all the time. We contacted Samsung and they had a technician come out to inspect the dryer. They told us there would be a $80.00 charge, but if the machine was defective they would repair and reimburse us. This took place on 3/20/2015. The technician located a crack on the seam of the drum and told me this was a common problem and Samsung would replace the drum. I contacted Samsung on 3/30/15 and was told the pictures we sent in we not sufficient. I took more pictures, even measured the crack of 5CM and uploaded them. I have called them almost every day since then to today 4/23/2015 only to be told they would contact me.
Yesterday they told me they would replace the part, but I would have to pay for the install. Today, they told me they would not replace the part and it was not under warranty. I called again and was told someone would have to call me back. The part is DEFECTIVE and has cracked on the seam in less than 3 years and they are telling me that is normal wear and tear. How can that be their position - Nowhere in the user manual does it state the dryer will self destruct in less than 3 years. Samsung will not respond and the internet is full of similar reviews. Since my washer and dryer are stacked, I will have to buy another washer and dryer to avoid Samsung or buy another Samsung dryer in order to stack them.

I purchased a top load Samsung HE 4.0 washer just over a year ago at Lowes. This is the biggest piece of crap I have ever owned. It washes clothes so poorly that many times my wash when done is still soiled or dry in areas. Now I have an error E1 message regarding the water level sensor. I will not be even spending another cent on this heap of trash, I will return to the smaller, less expensive non-HE washers as those seem to last for y-e-a-r-s, the proof of that was in my Amana washer that this piece of crap replaced. Lasted for over 10 years with not a problem until the start of my eleventh year when the transmission went on it. Shame on you Samsung, you've lost me as a customer and as many friends that I can tell and forewarn to avoid your products. Man up and do right by the consumers who bought your land fill washers and dryers by offering fix what you know is defective equipment.

I spent 3 months dealing with every aspect of Samsung including Samsung international directly. They sent 3 different repair techs... No one could determine what the code display meant. Every part was replaced, every part!!! I finally spoke with a woman from Samsung international and she determined what needed to be done. It did work. I thought I was home free... Not so fast bucko!!! About a year and a half later I am back in the same boat. I am not happy at all with the product and Samsung is aware. However, they don't care. I will repair it, but I will not buy another Samsung product again!!! Thank you.

I paid for what I thought was a better quality product when I purchased my Samsung washer and dryer. I started having problems with my dryer not heating after about two years. I contacted Samsung support and they explained that the products are only under warranty for one year after manufacture date, not purchase date. They then sold me what they called an extended warranty under Assurant by Samsung. They then scheduled a service call for today (4-20-15) and told me A&E Factory Service would arrive to fix the dryer between 12pm and 5pm.
Well, no one showed up. I contacted A&E and they told me that there was no service appointment scheduled by Samsung. I then contacted Samsung back, which was the same department that sold me the warranty grant they took the money from my account the very same day. Samsung told me I would need to talk to Assurant. I then contacted Assurant and they informed me that Samsung sold me a fraudulent extended warranty because there is no repair companies in Alabama that will service the products under the extended warranty. Assurant told me that I would need to contact Samsung Extended Warranty.
Basically I am being told by one department that it should be handled by another department and so forth. After three hours on the phone with Samsung, I am no farther along. I am out the monies I paid for my Samsung Dryer that will not work, out the monies for the extended warranty that Samsung sold me and out the monies fort being off work today. Samsung does not stand behind their products at all. I have even talked to the executive offices and they do not seem to care. I will at this point begin fraud charges against Samsung for selling a product that is not honored. DONT BUY ANYTHING SAMSUNG!!!

Got a Samsung top load washer model WA456DRHDWR/AA in November of 2011. Everything was great for the 1st 3 years but now during the spin cycle, it will violently spin and stop only to refill with water and spin again and continue to do this until you stop it. We have to sit by it and watch it and stop it when it spins out of control and reposition the load several times only hoping to get it just right in order to finish the cycle. I called Samsung and they set me up with a repair company that is over 2 1/2 hours away from my house but they never called.
I believe Samsung needs to step up and take responsibility for their product because from the looks of this site as well as many others, they have failed tremendously. Something needs to be done. Folks have spent their hard earned money for what they thought was a quality product only to have to replace it entirely too soon. I do not recommend Samsung to anyone.

Sept. 2014 we purchased Samsung front loading washer & dryer combo model #'s WF42H5200AF/A2 & DV42H5200EF/A3 respectively. Starting 12/14 we noticed water leaking from the washer & called for service. Feb. 2015 they came & we were told there was a flash bulletin from Samsung for a defective bellow clamp. A new clamp was ordered but from 2/4 to 2/24/15 we were without a washer & had to use a Laundromat and incurred an expense of $25.25 for use of the machines. The clamp was replaced but we still had leakage & service returned on 3/10/15, tightened the clamp as much as possible & left. Still had water leakage & per Samsung the service man was not to return until after 30 days which he did on 4/13/15, & was told per Samsung that the clamp was re-designed & would be sent for replacement again.
Service is to return on 4/22/15 to install the new clamp. I contacted Samsung for reimbursement of laundry expenses since the machine is within the years warranty but they said they do not cover those expenses. Their customer service is very poor. They are unfriendly & not at all concerned for the consumer. We should never have listened to the salesman as to how good these machines are. They are terrible. Our 4 year old Samsung washing machine (WA5471ABWX) has required 4 service calls. It needed a drain pump replaced, 2 control panels and a sub pcb display replaced as well. The only thing that has saved us, is the extended warranty that we purchased with the washer, an additional $270 expense on top of the $1100. To add insult to injury, the washing machine is now showing signs of rust around the bleach dispenser. After many phone conversations and emails to Samsung's "executive customer relations" department, Samsung has deemed this a "cosmetic" issue and is unwilling to take responsibility for its substandard paint process. I am extremely disappointed with Samsung and will never purchase another product from them. Buyer beware, expensive does not equal quality. We learned this lesson the hard way!!!

Solution was to take out filter which drained water all over the floor (thank goodness it was tile and not hardwood) with the wet vac cleaning up the rest of the mess. Time- 3 hours, clothes wet and dirty, towels from clean up wet and dirty. Husband spent 2 & 12 hours on phone with Samsung with no good result. To this day, over a month later, I am still dealing with Samsung and Home Depot to get it fixed.
I am a mother of 4 and do a ton of laundry, and I am afraid of it starting a fire, tearing up our clothes, and I can't do laundry past 9 pm cause it's so loud I do not want to wake the kids. I have been back and forth with both companies, saying first they would repair it, then the drum was out of stock, THEN, "Oh we will replace it." I would highly recommend that you stay away from any Samsung dryers. I purchased our DV350AEW at the end of 2010. I guess I was one of the "lucky" ones, as I managed to get 4 years out of our dryer before we saw the drum cracking issue. Most have seen it in 18-36 months. If you google Samsung cracked dryer drum, you will find TONS of posts about this issue. For 99.9% of the people, including myself, Samsung has refused to acknowledge the issue and/or provide any sort of assistance. I escalated it to the highest level of support they would let me. I asked them, point blank, "have you fixed this issue?" The reply is that they do not have any record of this being an issue. Just google it and YOU be the judge of whether or not it is an issue.
I find it completely unbelievable that a company as big as Samsung refuses to stand behind their products when there is a manufacturing defect and/or design flaw that is extremely well documented. The fact that they attempt to blatantly LIE about the existence of a problem is utterly insane. You can even see that Consumer Reports has acknowledged the fact that an overwhelming number of customers have complained of this issue. There are plenty of other more reliable brands out there. Do not get suckered into buying a Samsung dryer. You may think you are getting a good deal, but you will be kicking yourself just a few years down the road.

Diagnosis: The plastic shell that held the "tub" and drum assembly started breaking apart and burning up!
The repair technician provided an estimate of $1,500 to fix!. SAMSUNG refused to offer any goodwill assistance, even though I am able to provide documentation proving my loyalty to the product. Needless to say, I am done with SAMSUNG. The SAMSUNG went out in the junk heap and I replaced it with a non-SAMSUNG product. I was happy with the first few months of my washer's performance. Then the spin cycle seemed to become more and more rough. Before it was two years old the plastic parts securing the pump broke apart and the pump fell away from the machine. We had bought it from Lowe's, so we brought the pump back to the store. The new employee told us that they didn't stock parts and that they didn't have a technician in the store at any time. She kindly gave us the phone number of Samsung. We called and ordered the part. It was almost 100 dollars with shipping costs. It was very different from the part that we took off the machine, but after a few calls to the company we found out that the original part was probably defective and had to be remanufactured.
Apparently others had had the same problem. We finally figured out how to put the new part on. We went back to Lowe's and told them our story and they reimbursed us for the part and shipping and clarified how to go about getting something fixed in the future. But this is about Samsung, not about Lowe's. Now I notice that the machine does not clean the clothes. It just seems to jostle them around and gets them wet, rinses them and spins them out. The dirt is still there. I am really, really not happy with this machine. The matching dryer works fine.

This is a long story many of which you have heard before. This Washer was shipped to me with a broken Plastic flywheel plate behind the motor assembly. The Vibration caused a wobble at approximately 200RPM after a year of wringing out clothes and running up and down the stairs. A reluctant service tech still says I need to devote another two or three visits to maybe fix the Machine.
This is not the only thing wrong with the machine. The machine has a flaw in its subroutine program when it receives a DC error code. Most machines on the market shut down when they receive an unbalanced error code but not Samsung. They and their service technicians support that the SAMSUNG washer should change its cycle to Spin and rinse. So the WA456 will fill the tub to the top with water then spin drain and empty only to receive an error code and repeat the cycle. This goes on indefinitely as long as it receives a dc error code. This continues forever. So much for safety and High efficiency. Samsung Dropped the ball on this one. Safety first, Should be a recall.

I own an appliance service company in Fort Lauderdale. After reading some of these posts, I find it necessary to share some wisdom. Never use POWDERED detergent in a front load washer. Powdered soap clogs up and is corrosive on the metals used on them. If you use a powdered soap you stand the chance of it building up behind the tub and rotting the support arm for the tub. THIS IS A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE and would require replacement of the unit due to repair costs.
As far as Samsung and LG, stay away from them. Yes they are oh so pretty but the tubs are made of a thin stainless steel and don't last. That is why the dryer drums break in 3 to 4 years. Stay with a Whirlpool, GE, or any other American brand. I personally had a 3 yr old LG range and the control panel went out. Guess what, part was discontinued and since I couldn't produce a receipt, I was told I was out of luck! Actual words from LG rep. I spoke to. American products are better made and have a higher quality standard than something made in Korea. Big news there huh?! So I now have hundreds of dollars worth of wet clothes STUCK in this washer... until it can be fixed by obtaining the board and having a repair service fix it. AGAIN, WET CLOTHES ARE LOCKED INSIDE. This is about a $300.00 REPAIR BILL for me.
The rubber molds around door unless you constantly clean and dry... or leave the door open to air! When filter clogs, you spend a good hour or more with a VERY SHORT tube at the bottom of washer and a shallow container to drain water out of washer (and have someone handy to dump while you plug with finger to stop flow, or you will have to plug and re-plug over and over), cannot remove filter until washer water is totally drained or it will flood floor. When does it clog... when it is running :-). I have had to always wash/rinse clothing twice or they do not get clean. Do not waste money one these "high end" washers because the only cool thing is they play music when done, except when the pcb board goes out that is!

Cost for parts $250 + $355 plus 2 hr labor at $150. My washer was purchased in 11/2009. I had a local repair center check it out ($75 diagnostic) and verified the problem. It is only a 2 person adult household. I'm livid at this cost of repair!!! I will never purchase a Samsung product again!!! We have a new 5.6 washer top loader Samsung. Great looking, easy to reach cloths inside the machine. However, that is the end of it, everything else that samsung advertised that this washer will do is incorrect and the repair people A&E repair the tech says it is working as normal. However, the videos we have found of this machine working shows that the washer we have does not work like the one in the video. The steam away wrinkles cycle on the dryer fills the dryer full of water, A&E has been here 4 times in the last month, but it is normal. They have no clue what this machine is supposed to do or not do. And samsung could care less. You put the washer on total cold wash and it will fill the washer full of hot scalding water.
Samsung glories in its aquaJets function and it will not work on this washer in any setting and the tech said this is normal. What he seen was the water returning from where it comes out when the machine fills up the washer. Ties my long sleeve shirts up in knots and 10 shirts is nothing for this washer, the wrinkles make the shirts look worse when you get them out of the washer than when you put them in, and it does not matter the size or type. A large load of permanent press shirts and pants comes out of the washer full of wrinkles, they cannot be worn as they are. This washer and dryer are costing us more time and money and the clothes would be cleaner if you took them back down to the creek and used a washing board and you would most likely get done quicker than using these machines.

I purchased a Samsung washer front loader approximately 3 years ago. Today I put clothes in and went to retrieve them, and found the machine smoking. It was on fire from the inside. The whole side of the machine had bubbled paint and corrosion. Thank god, it didn't burn my house down. I was told this was a rather familiar problem with the drum and it falling off track, rubbing against the rubber inside. Samsung sent someone out but he said it would probably cost more than a new one to fix. Will never buy this product again.

Machine would not operate. He ordered another drum, drum assembly. 2 weeks later, order arrives. 2 weeks, NEW tech installs parts; unit will not operate. He said motor was bad. I had tech order motor on emergency, 3 working days, motor arrives. However A&E canceled the scheduled tech to install motor. This began several long calls to Samsung who I had to convince that motor was under warranty.
The rescheduled tech arrived 3/6, upon opening motor box, the sensor was found to be damaged. The tech (3rd trip to house) found a new motor after 2-hour search. I bought model #WA5451ANW Samsung Top loading washing machine in 2012 with the two year extended warranty plan. Last week my cleaning lady did a load of whites and everything was covered in rust. I can get out just about any stain, but you cannot get rust out. I did not even associate the possibility with my washing machine, because it is so "deluxe" I thought it must be my old dryer. But then today I did a load of whites and the same thing happened, all my husband’s white shirts and expensive dress, etc. Ruined by rust. So I looked at the washing machine and the bleach dispenser is rusted all around it. The machine is releasing rust through the bleach dispenser instead of bleach.
I called HHGregg, knowing (falsely) that this would be corrected with a service call that I would be entitled to. Wrong! They tried to tell me that they don't cover rust. I don't give a crap if there is rust on the machine, I just don't want rust dispensed onto my clothes! I too got passed up to management and I argued that the bleach dispenser is obviously not working which is a PART, and should be covered. They told me that they were going to job it out to a company and they would come out and put bleach in the dispenser and if it went through to the drum then I would have to pay for the service call. Even if rust poured all over my clothes. I am telling you one thing. Samsung knows they have a problem with this issue, and they are trying to duck responsibility for faulty parts or a flawed design.
A $700.00 machine, well cared for, with a five year warranty and it's not covered? If they don't fix it, I am going to start a blog, I am going to call the better business bureau, I am going to go off on HH Gregg, too. I am going to fight back. Because this is unacceptable. I accept that certain things go wrong and cannot be helped. But when I am not valued as a customer, and I am just supposed to accept having rusty clothes, and they don't even want to correct the problem, then I get upset. And when I get upset, I make a lot of noise. I will let as many people know as humanly possible about the care and concern of Samsung and HH Gregg. They better step up. Or they will regret it. My business network has 21,000 people on it. I will start with a warning e-mail to them and take it from there. Or they can be responsible people and fix the problem. I can be like a dog with a bone when I feel wronged.

Samsung WA456 Top Loader Washer - I bought a new home and left the washer/dryer in the home I sold, so purchased this washer in July 2013 based on the salesperson's recommendation. The only time I've ever had to replace a washer was when I moved, because they've always lasted a long time, so I didn't buy an extended warranty. From day one, I've never liked this washer because my clothes didn't come out as fresh as with my previous washer. I blamed it on the amount of water used in the load. My previous washer was also water efficient, but always did a great job, so I poked around the Internet to see if anyone else had shared my issue. I found article after article about workarounds for this washer to 'trick' it into adding more water. What a pain, but it helped.
Last night I was doing a small load (two towels and a couple other items) and heard a LOUD bang coming from my laundry room. I opened the lid (top loader machine) and found that the drum completely detached from the washing machine. Again, I poked around the net and found several complaints about this very issue. I've seen repair quotes over 1k. No way would I even spend the time to get this piece of garbage repaired, much less down money. Based on all of the negative reviews, I believe that even if I had a warranty and had the machine repaired, it would be just a matter of time before the next issue. So, today I bought a new washer, and am excited to use it WITHOUT the 'you need to do this so your washer will actually clean your clothes' workarounds.

Samsung Washer Model WA456DRHDSU/AA Purchased New in October 2012 for $699. Pros: Average performance cleaning clothes, plentiful cycle options, sleek aesthetic design. Cons: Terrible engineering, constructed with low quality metal and plastic components, awful customer service, abysmal service life. Washer became broken beyond reasonable repair without warning after 2 years and 3 months of light use.
Background: My wife and I purchased these units new with the full anticipation of a long and productive service life, evidenced by Samsung's strong reputation in the personal electronics market. We were sadly mistaken. We are two people who do our laundry once or twice a week with loads that were always well below the advertised maximum capacity of 4.5 cubic feet which they advertised as being "king sized." While we were certainly not planning on becoming royalty, we did plan on starting a family, so this washer was appealing when compared to its peers at the time of purchase.
The washer's performance was average, when it's High Efficiency properties are taken into consideration (less water = less cleaning power, which is not a fault of Samsung, all HE washers struggle with this) the performance was what I had expected. The short service life relative to a catastrophic failure of the drum after 2 years however, was not at all expected, and I consider it to be completely unacceptable.
Catastrophic Failure: At the end of January 2015 and without any indication of any impending failure, the drum and wash-basket separated at the seams during the final spin cycle causing a significant imbalance while washing a small load of casual clothes. I heard a substantial amount of noise coming from the laundry room, and went in to investigate. Upon arrival, the machine was violently bouncing apart and there was a strong odor of burning plastic. I had to power it off immediately to avoid further damage to the machine, its contents and items surrounding it. When I attempted to remove the clothes, most were damaged and some items were still stuck in a newly formed gap in the seam between the plastic bottom plate that moves and the steel walls of the basket and it became immediately apparent that the two pieces had separated.
I also noticed that the basket had moved so much out of its normal position that the blue plastic rim around the top of the basket had made severe and repetitive contact with the sheet metal top and shards of plastic were missing and mixed in with the clothing, which I suspect is responsible for the burning odor. Essentially, the major components of the washer that are visible without any disassembly were damaged and inoperable. I unplugged the machine and immediately called Samsung support at 1.800.726.7864.
Samsung Customer Service: This is the most troublesome part of all of this, and for any of you that may be considering a Samsung appliance purchase, my experience with them mirrors other consumers' experiences and it speaks volumes about the mentality of this company as a strong indication that you should spend your money elsewhere.
My initial call to Customer Care placed 4 or 5 minutes after the machine failed yielded a Representative that was difficult to understand and did not truly understand the severity of the damage to my machine. She stated that the machine was out of warranty and that she would be happy to schedule a repair technician to come and assist me at my own expense. I advised her that her offer is unacceptable given the circumstances surrounding my light use and short time of ownership. She transferred me... eventually... to what they call Executive Customer Care, and I spoke to another representative who, after some encouragement, advised that Samsung would schedule a "one time accommodation for repair" which is where Samsung will pay for all parts and labor for repair.
Shortly thereafter on the next business day, I was contacted by one of what I now refer to as the two companies involved in an "unholy trinity" with Samsung, USSI. USSI set up my appointment with A&E Factory Services, a large repair chain which had one-star reviews online for terrible service and sub-par support. I was told I had no choice in this. I accepted and two weeks and a day later a tech was at my door.
Initial Repair Attempt: Service technician came to my home, did not introduce himself and simply asked me "where is it?" referring to my machine. I took him to the machine and he just whistled at it and stated "let me take a look at my computer" and proceeded to tell me that Samsung omitted any mention of an accommodation and that I would have to foot the bill. I told him that was not an option and he was welcome to leave my home. He did tell me to advise Samsung that the wash basket and drum would need to be replaced and that it was a two-man job and would take an hour before he left. The result? No repairs made and 4 hours of leave time from work burned for nothing.
Second Call: Immediately following the departure of the A&E technician, I called Customer Care. After a significant hold, I asked for Executive Customer Care, and I was told I could not speak with them because my work order was closed. After much arguing back and forth, and about 30 minutes of my time, I was transferred to Executive Customer Care. They advised they would approve another "one time accommodation" for parts and labor, but this time, I demanded for it to be set up with a local technician.
To my surprise, they agreed and set up the service order. I explained to them again, in great detail the damage and what the A&E Factory Service tech had told me about the drum, basket and it being a two-person job. She told me she personally put the order in and it was correct, that the parts would be ordered. The result? No repairs completed and another 4 hours of leave time burned. Two weeks later, the second technician was at my door.
Second Repair Attempt: The second tech from a local company based in Raleigh NC, was very professional and polite, which was already a substantial improvement over A&E. He came in and did confirm that the work order had Samsung's accommodation attached to it. He then asked me what was going on with it because Samsung had sent him a replacement door latch. I immediately knew at that point Samsung, again, failed to correctly resolve my problem, and that I was going another few weeks without a working machine. This tech took pictures and made extensive notes that went back to Samsung in real-time. He told me that the machine was more than likely a total loss. I immediately called customer support... again.
Second Call: Once I got through the first level of customer service, I finally got on the phone with a representative from Executive Customer Care, who assured me they would try to get it right the next time, which I thought to be an unacceptable option after a month without a working washing machine. Samsung eventually gave me what they call a "Customer Service Accommodation" which essentially means they agree to buy my machine back from me at a pro-rated amount based on my original invoice price.
I assume this was also the case because of the notes and pictures from the second repair attempt. I will be clear here and say that I found that to be reasonable, because up until failure, the machine functioned and did what I needed it to do. I sent them copies of my invoice from HHGreggg, which had my wife listed on the invoice as the purchaser under her maiden name, which the rep assured me would not be an issue and that she would make note of it. The rep stated that in two business days I would be contacted by the support team that handles buy-backs to sign documents pertaining to the refund and to receive instructions for the disposal of the old machine. I was told I could not do anything with the old machine until the support team contacted me. She assured me that a "Customer Service Accommodation" is not conditional, and does not need to be submitted for approval, and therefore cannot be denied.
Third call: After two business days came and went, without any correspondence from Samsung, I called them to check on the status of my refund. They advised me that I was misinformed and that it would be five business days and that it was currently being "reviewed" which I found odd, because the last rep I spoke with said that once the buy-back was initiated it does not need to be "reviewed" because they supposedly already instantly approved it during the previous call.
Fourth call: After the passing of five business days without any correspondence, I called back to check on my refund, and I was told that it was denied during review phase. I asked why, and they said it was due to the fact my wife's name was the name listed on the invoice. I explained to him that on a recorded line I was assured that one, there is no review for a buy-back and two, her maiden name was not going to be a problem because the address of delivery was the same as my listed address on the repair account. The Rep resubmitted the "Customer Service Accommodation" for review and told me if I did not hear anything from Samsung in five business days to call back, bringing me now to almost 8 weeks without a functional washing machine and resolution is nowhere in sight.
It is my opinion, based on my experience and the experiences of others that mirror my own posted on home improvement forums or consumer advocacy sites such as BBB and Consumer affairs, that the inaction of Samsung could be perceived to be intentional, as the excessive delays force the customer to purchase another unit out of frustration or need subsequently absolving them of any financial accountability for a sub-par product. It is also my opinion that Samsung appliances are built to be durable enough to make it past the warranty expiration, and that any longevity experienced after that is a bonus, but should not be expected. Samsung makes excellent personal electronics, but their home appliances leave much to be desired and I certainly will not be purchasing again.

My 20 year old Agitator washer spun them dryer than this! Not only that, you don't dare do a mixed load. Anything slightly heavier than the rest of the clothes and it comes out wet! I have tried for months to get someone to come out and look at it. All I get from them is instructions: try this, try that, try this, try that! This is a NEW washer, installed by a professional - I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO FIX IT - IT SHOULDN'T NEED FIXING IN THE FIRST PLACE.
After about six "chats" I get someone who says they will schedule a repair visit. When I try to contact them, I get someone else who tells me there are no authorized repair persons in my area. Today I call again, and someone in India gives me another number to call - an 800#. I will never buy another Samsung product, ever. I hate the washer now. My initial call to Samsung resulted in no satisfaction other than they set up a repair person that I would have to pay for. When the repair person called me to confirm, she informed me that this is a common problem with this model of Samsung washers and that they should pay for repair. She advised me to call them back, which I did, and received satisfaction on the second call that they would pay for repair. I am also submitting a damage claim through Samsung to repair my wood floors. BE TENACIOUS!

Spent $900 on the Samsung Washing Machine with the extended warranty, what a nightmare and a huge waste of money. Save yourself the aggravation and buy something else. Going without a washing machine with 4 kids is not a pleasant experience, still dealing with the issue and it has been over a month and 4 service calls with the same problem not yet resolved nor appliance replaced. What a horrible purchase. The cycle never completes and on the spin cycle the tub will refill over and over and over again, adding to our already ridiculous water bill. It will drain, start to spin for a second, stop the spinning and begin refilling. It will do this indefinitely and then you are left with a tub filled with heavy wet clothes that cannot even be put into the dryer with the heavy water weight. The lack of timely response from the warranty company has been so frustrating.

Samsung 5.0 cu ft. Capacity Top Load Washer (WA50F9A6DSW/A20) EXPLODED during normal use. This washer cost nearly $800 when we purchased it from Best Buy 14 months ago. The machine was always loud during the spin cycle and not very impressive in cleaning clothes. Last evening it made a loud explosive noise during the middle of a cycle. This was very scary - washing machines are NOT suppose to explode, right?
The machine top dislodged from the bottom of the unit. The sides of the unit are bent and the drum is sitting on the floor. Our laundry room and floor below were flooded. The explosion also damaged the plaster wall behind the washer and the side of the clothes dryer. I have not dealt with Samsung directly yet since they are not open on Sundays, BUT this is a defective and unreasonably dangerous product that does not belong on the market. I intend to fight Samsung for a full refund of the washer price plus compensation for the other damage to my laundry room. I have already contacted the CPSC and filed a report with them. As I research new washers, Samsung is NOT on my list!

Has anyone else experienced leakage from their Samsung? Have a Samsung Steamer Washer -WF455ARGSGR/A2. It started leaking water less than a year after we purchased it. Placed 3 service tickets and never got a response from Samsung. By the time I escalated it, it was then out of warranty. All Samsung would do was place a service ticket in their system, then send me a notice two weeks later that the service ticket was cancelled. Probably was apparently faulty hose that leaked and would stray water, shorting out the circuit board. Has anyone else experienced this.

Before buying this Samsung washer I had a similar one I had rented from Rent-a-Center and never had this problem. The clothes are still soaked enough that I can't put them in the dryer until they spin out. I have been stuck on 1 load for 2 freaking days before, and I'm ready to throw this thing out the door. I wouldn't recommend this washer to my worst enemy. This washer is only 3 months old and I'm ready to go buy a new non Samsung washer.

I purchased "a new floor model dryer" from Best Buy. I was told when I asked if they would test it and make sure it was working properly. I was told yes. When delivered a week later, it was not working. After hours and 3 days of delays, transferred calls, & testing from online Samsung Agents, it was determined, "it was not working." A Samsung direct service person was suppose to call me to set up the service call. It didn't happen. I really dislike the matching washer also. My clothes do not come out clean the majority of washing. Poor product. Less than poor service from both Best Buy & Samsung. BTW, the Samsung agents I was dealing with were in Bangladesh.

We purchased this washer (samsung wa5451anwxaa02) from Factory Direct in Lee's Summit Missouri approximately three years ago after out front loading washer of one year and one week (just outside warranty) went kaput and held my clothes hostage. Our new model lasted approximately three years when around Thanksgiving time 2014 it started giving an error code of D/C (off balance). Knowing it was the way we were loading the washer, we kept adjusting the loads, reducing load size, etc until the problem was so routine it happened with every load. We called on December 5, 2014 to Factory Direct since we had purchased the 5 year extended warranty plan and it clearly needed repair. They scheduled an appointment. I took time off work on the appointment date and no one showed.
I called back and made another appt date. A technician from A&E repair (authorized repairman through the warranty) showed. Professional and courteous but didn't have any repair parts. He decided it was the suspension rods and made another appt to replace once the parts were acquired. I again took time off work. He replaced the rods. The washer worked for approximately two weeks then gave the same error code. My five and six year old by then had full body rashes (my guess is from the clothes not rinsing the detergent from the clothes and us having to hand wring the clothes to dry while waiting on repairs). Each appt scheduled was scheduled two weeks out from our phone calls.
Another call was placed and another appointment made. Another technician... must be the computer board... of course that part needed ordered. Washer leaked through my laundry room floor in to the basement. A week and a half later the computer board arrived to my house by mail. Technician came out and opened the package. He showed me the computer board must have had a short in it in the past as part of the plastic appeared burnt. He installed it anyway. Ran four shirts through as a test and the washer spun down. He left and I added a regular load of clothes. After one hour... same error code. I called back. I explained what I saw on the computer board and told them I was now worried about a fire. I was told not to use the washer until technician #6 could be sent out in another couple of weeks.
I told them about the rash and asked if our extended warranty would authorize medical bills and treatment. I was told to give my children medicine to help with the rash. I restated to the service center... "You are asking me to drug my children because you haven't been able to fix my washer in months..." I was told yes they were sure there was medicine for that. I pressed for money to go to the laundromat and was told they could issue a $25 credit per year for laundromat fees. We are a five person household.
After much frustration we pressed Factory Direct and A&E and were told Factory Direct is the seller, A&E is the repair people... but our extended warranty was actually through WarranTech (sp?). WarranTech says that A&E still shows it's repairable but if they ever state it is irreparable they would replace it. A&E says they can only say it's irreparable if they can't get the parts to replace. We escalated. They are now saying they will look at replacement but can't find a washer that's comparable to what we bought. Who do we call? What do we say? I'm boycotting all three companies from now on!!!

WA 456 - Electronics went out after about 1.5 years. Took 5 trips from a tech to get it fixed right. After just over 2 years the water pump mount broke (known defective part) flooding our laundry room. I hammered Samsung Customer service on both failures and they did give me "goodwill repairs" at no cost even out of warranty. Their customer service was actually pretty decent...I think I just got lucky.
So now right after the water pump issue was fixed the washing machine drum spins violently and causes the spinning to stop and reset itself back to a rinse cycle to rebalance the load. But the problem isn't the laundry off balance. I paid to have a tech come out this time and he tells me that it might be the drum shock absorbers (over $250 repair)...note I said "might"...or it might be a bad drum (over $600 to repair)...once again I said MIGHT BE. I paid just over $600 for the machine so that questionable repair is not going to happen.
I haven't called Samsung to complain yet. My goal would be to get a complete replacement unit. My advise...stay away from high priced high tech HE units. Get your more basic design with minimal electronics. If you want top load style get one with the agitator. They use more water and clean better. Also, forget Lowe’s, Home Depot, Sears, Best Buy. They contract out their service and you never know what you'll get.
I just bought a new set of GE units from a local appliance company in business for many years because they service what they sell. Paid about $1100. You will get more personal service and not get jacked around from one of the big guys contracted companies. Stay away from Samsung (duh, right). Go with reputable brands such as GE, Whirlpool, Frigidaire....maybe LG. You can find bad reviews on any brand but go with ones with a reputation of quality overall.

Samsung 3.9-cu ft High-Efficiency Front-Load Washer with Steam - I am VERY UNHAPPY with the Samsung Front Load Washer because first if the Cycle selection rotater is turned "Just Slightly" by accident, the machine stops washing and empties out the water WASTING water and detergent. It also CANNOT BE switched from one cycle to another without emptying out the water and stopping (again wasting water and detergent).
Several times I have mistakenly started the machine to see after it starts that the water temperature is wrong, or some other issue needs to be changed. If I pause and change to right temperature or cycle, the machine will drain the water and stop before STARTING into the New cycle. IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY, because then I have to then ADD more detergent for the new cycle.
I have had a front load machine in Europe for 13 years and have NEVER had this problem. If I mistakenly start my load in the wrong cycle after it has filled with water, the machine will automatically GO to the NEW Cycle without emptying water continuing on washing. November 2013 I purchased a Samsung top load washer, electric dryer, 3-door refrigerator, electric range, dishwasher and microwave. In September, 2014, my washer "fell apart" - the rubber inside literally fell to pieces. Also, the metal rim at the bottom must have been detached in parts, since my clothes and sheets had wholes in them. It was a disaster dealing with Samsung, so HH Gregg, replaced the washer. In November 2014, my range "blew up" - I heard a pop and saw a blue flash. Although the range worked, the panel lights would not go off. Since it was still under warranty, Samsung (better this time) had it repaired. As if it couldn't get any worse, Christmas Eve morning, a part fell off my dishwasher. My husband nor I could get it back on.
Fuming, I went into HH Gregg the day after Christmas, demanding an exchange. How could 3 appliances break in one year? They said it was all up to Samsung. Samsung, after 3 hours in the store on the phone with Samsung and HH Gregg customer service, would do nothing but pay for the repair - it was 31 days after warranty and besides the microwave, the only appliance I had not purchased an extended warranty! In 5 yrs of doing laundry I've never had a problem getting clothes clean. It takes hours to wash a load. It keeps getting off balance & stopping. Pretreated clothes still have stains & clothes look & still smell of body odor. Bedding cycle gives 6" water & takes 2 hrs to complete. Jets push comforters to top of water where they float. Anything more than a handful of clothes causes unbalance & washer stops. Samsung claims this 5.6 will wash 2 king size comforters. NOT in 6" water, going unbalanced & stopping. Takes 2-6 hrs of constantly rearranging wet heavy comforters to get finished. Cold water is really hot water. Tap water out of the ground is too cold to breakdown the detergent so it will clean. Extra hot water only from the hot water heater, is mixed with tap water so it isn't extra hot anymore.

I bought the top of the line Samsung washer/dryer pair for around $2500 new, just over two years ago (model WF457ARGSWR/AA and its twin electric dryer). Aside from the network connection not working with a longer WPA style Wifi password (and way too much wasted time trying to even get them to understand the issue) they both worked well: the clothes came out clean and they're both very quiet.
A few weeks ago the washer came up with an error code: "Error Code 3E, A motor problem, too many suds are detected during the wash session. The unit is put on hold until the amount of suds have been reduced." After going through the L1 tech support and manual's troubleshooting procedures, I found it only has a 1 year warranty so I'd be on the hook to get it repaired. I have a 3rd party appliance warranty (HWA) and they sent out a Samsung authorized tech who said it needed a new main drive motor and a control board.
The repair tech told me the parts are on 'permanent backorder' from Samsung and no one can get them. The HWA people took over and tried to find any vendor who could get the parts and fix the thing but they failed. We ended up having to get a new washer from another vendor (due to the HWA people refusing to buy us another Samsung) and sent the 2 year old Samsung to the dump.
A repair tech's opinion was that Samsung doesn't stock parts for these front loaders because the way they are built they are unrepairable: if you take it apart to replace the motor it will 'never run right again' (WRT balance, noise, etc) probably because it is designed using one-time assembly techniques (like bent metal tabs and glue) that are not repeatable in a field repair. This is a current model according to their website, they don't stock parts for it, and it is unrepairable by Samsung or anyone else in practice.

WA400 - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS WASHER!!!! It does NOT clean clothes, it is not energy efficient, it does not perform the functions as outlined in the manual, just to name a few things. The last large load I did used 25.95 gallons of (hot) water for the wash cycle, 26.6 gallons for the rinse and used 75 minutes worth of electricity - this is energy efficient?
The 4th time I called for service the technician said he would not come out again, that the machine is operating within preset factory specifications and there is nothing he can do to make the washer clean the clothes. Samsung said they will do NOTHING. If you use the normal cycle, the "rinse" cycle consists of the washer spraying water on the clothes and then spinning them. The crack is not visible from inside the dryer and can only be seen if the top is removed. I talked to SIX representatives at Samsung, including this "Executive" team that is supposed to be able to help you. After explaining everything and that the issue was not caused by me, what was my answer? "Nothing you can do since you didn't have the warranty." The warranty by this point would have PAID for a new dryer.
A dryer should last longer than 3 years and there is no excuse for this. Samsung is not willing to stand by their product and instead is forcing me to have to purchase a new one after just 3 years, and all this "eco-friendly" is a hoax. The dryer will have to go to a landfill when this is the only issue and Samsung had the ability to fix what is THEIR mistake. I would give this zero stars if that was an option. We own 7 Samsung TVs and another recent set of their washer/dryers. This past summer we replaced a 1 yr. old 55" TV that blew up and now this! Think it is about time we reevaluate Samsung ownership!

My Samsung washer does not do a very good job washing, I am disappointed in it. My 15 year old Whirlpool was so much better and it had an agitator. The fill cups for the softener and the color safe bleach don't empty every time, maybe about every 3rd wash, they will actually empty. This is since the very first wash, plus there are streaks of detergent that run down the front of it every time I use it. I'm not sure where it comes from but it looks bad. I don't ever stay in the room long enough to see, because it takes like forever to wash a load of clothes. I really hate it. Unless you put it on the sterilize setting, the clothes don't smell fresh, and that takes well over 2 hours. I paid right at 1000.00 for it, and I think my old 300 Whirlpool did a lot better.

It dented my dryer and put holes through the sheet rock. My home warranty came to review the claim and the technician said he had never seen that type of damage before. After checking a few resources I found numerous complaints on the Samsung washers and even a video on YouTube of my exact model and the same images that were recorded like mine. Soon we start it after 5 min it was cutting itself off. We discovered the hose that shoot the lint outside was clogged up so we had to go in the attic and unclog the hose. This has happened twice. We started having problems with the washer soon as the warranty expired. The information code (dc) according to the user manual always comes on, which states that the washer is unbalanced, we have re-adjusted the load, we have made sure it was leveled, and this still doesn't fix the problem. We will never buy a Samsung product again and will not recommend this product to anyone.

Like so many others, I contacted Samsung and was told there was nothing they would do. I even asked that my complaint be escalated, which it was, but was again told there was nothing they would do. As there are many other complaints about this very same issue which Samsung is aware of, I feel that this is a defect and Samsung should take responsibility for it. It's not fair that so many consumers have to buy a new washing machine when theirs are only a few years old. I also wonder if there is lead in the paint.

Everyone is also complaining about the pump attached to the drum thus breaking, flooding the area where the washer is located... just grand as I am disabled, so when that happens it is going to be an awful ordeal for me!!!
Samsung has not provided a rebate knowing this problem exists but did offer a fix if yours happens to break, not if WHEN!!! That is awful. It is bad enough to have to continually repair an appliance but when the appliance is a washer and the problem is a pump spewing water all over they should not be allowed to NOT RECALL THE ITEM!!! I think the washer sucks anyway as it does not clean deodorant stains from dark clothing and doesn't clean well for the other laundry either.

Samsung model #WF409ann/XAA Serial #W0BR54ASA00650Y 1/23/10 - My husband purchased this washer in January 2010 and every was great until the 12/15/2014. The washer stopped spinning. I called a repair company in the area, he cleaned out the drain and we ran a load and it was fine. Then he left and I had to call him right back. He then was getting a code 3E code which mean motor parts. He said it was the sensor but we would need to purchased the whole motor. Because the sensor was attached to the motor. They order the part and about 7 days later it came in and it was the wrong part. The right part number but part did not match up. The company reordered the part again and the part took about 10 days to come in and the part was broken.
I then called Samsung and the girl said I might as well get a new one. She said even if they fix it I will always have problems. Then we had a Samsung repair person came out, he put in new motor and it still did not work. Then he thought it was another part and he put that part in and it still did not work. The outcome as it had to be the wiring harness. It costs $75.00 for service call and they want an extra 446.83 to repair the machine.
So, now I have been doing my wash in the sink and sometimes the neighbor helps me or I go to the laundry mat. This was so frustrating. The washer cost me 750.00. Now I have to buy a new one. The bad part is the motor is under a 5 year warranty, which is what the code on the machine said it was. If I would have know it was a wiring harness I would had gave up. I would like to get involved with class action law suit. The other company that came out at first was so frustrated that they gave me my money back for the service call. I purchased a new Samsung top-loader washing machine from Lowe's on 11/12/11 (Model #: WA5471ABP/XAA; Serial Number: Y01K54BB800564J). I also purchased a Lowe's Extended Protection Plan which remains in effect through 11/12/16. Over the past several weeks I have noted that the paint on the metal rim surrounding the plastic bleach dispenser has spontaneously bubbled up and developed some rust. There was no prior damage to this area which may have caused this.
I contacted both Samsung Customer Support and Lowe's Extended Protection Plan (EPP) regarding this problem. Samsung stated that I would need to go through Lowe's EPP as there was no recall on this machine or recorded problems for this issue. Lowe's EPP told me that this was a cosmetic issue and not covered under their warranty. I have argued that this is not a cosmetic issue as rust is washing back into my machine and will likely start staining my clothing. Also a quick Google search for this problem reveals a multitude of others affected in the same way.
After significant stalling Lowe's Executive Customer Support finally agreed to send out a repairman to evaluate the issue at their expense. He told me that this was a very common problem with bleach dispensers of similar design and he himself had repaired over 15 units for the same rusting issue. He further stated that he thought Samsung was considering issuing a recall for this problem. He called me back one hour after he left my home to tell me that Lowe's EPP was rejecting the claim as they felt it was cosmetic. I am continuing to negotiate with Lowe's EPP and will update this review depending upon outcome.
In the meanwhile I would strongly recommend that consumers avoid any brand of top loading washer with a plastic bleach dispenser in the metal housing. This is a design flaw and will cause rusting down the line that will not be repaired under warranty.

Our Samsung Washer Model No. WF330ANWXAA is four years old. Washer would not drain completely, leaving clothes wet and hard to dry. There was standing water in bottom of drum. I have over 40 years of HVAC experience and consider myself to be very handy. So after researching the problem I took the washer apart and after inspecting all drain hoses for obstruction, finding none, I concluded that it was probably a defective pump.
I ordered and replaced the pump only to have the same problem. Again I took the washer apart and tested the new pump (OK). Inspected every hose for blockage and again found nothing. Out of curiosity I stuck my finger in the plastic drain block that the main drum drain attaches to and found a round plastic disc that moved when I pushed it. This was puzzling as a movable disc in that location would serve no purpose, i.e. check valve. I wanted to remove it but since it was movable, I placed it in the open position.
After I reassembled the washer and put a load of clothes in, the washer worked perfectly. If this problem should re-occur I will remove this plastic disc as it serves no purpose. I wasted money on a new pump and about 40 hours of my time on this problem. If you experience the same problem, check the drain block first for this condition.

ALERT ALERT ALERT - BEFORE YOU BUY A SAMSUNG READ THIS - ALERT ALERT ALERT. Hi folks - I hate to be an alarmist, but I have information you NEED TO KNOW about Samsung and other washing machines of this general manufacture. I bought the 50 version of this washer (WA50) and after 2 years it failed. It wasn't anything we did, it was a KNOWN issue with the manufacture of the machine. You see, when it's ready to drain there's a pump that pushes the water out the exhaust tube into your drain pipe.
THAT PUMP can easily crack, break, and fail - causing the machine to dump all it's water onto the ground. Until that happened this was a perfect washing machine for our family, worked flawlessly, saved water and energy, we were happy. How can you know if you got a model with the crappy drain pump? In general the crappy pump is attached to the tub itself, right on the drum. You simply tilt your machine up and look. Follow the water exhaust/discharge hose from the outside of your machine to a cylindrical device that's (hopefully) attached to a hose that goes to the drum. If the pump is on the drum, you got a bad one! The tech told me that the pump is on nearly all models, and if it's on the drum, you drew the short straw.
The Samsung repair guy came out to repair mine and told me all about this issue. I asked what makes the decision whether you repair one out of warranty (I was at 2 years the machine has a 1 year warranty - because the pump isn't part of the DRIVE TRAIN 10 year warranty.) His response: whether the customer complains enough. Yes, my machine got fixed - but the customer service gave me a serious run around (over 4 hours on the phone). One of the managers even had the audacity to call me, and left me the wrong return phone number THREE TIMES!!! (*or does Samsung market time shares?)
Their stellar lack of customer service and desire not to stand by their defective merchandise has earned Samsung this negative review and my warning. Be sure your pump is mounted to the machine frame at the base of the unit NOT THE DRUM. It makes sense if you think about it. The drum sees a lot of vibration, a plastic pump mounted to that vibrating behemoth is bound to fail. SAMSUNG customer service works for Samsung, not you. Know what to look for in a bad unit - read this review. Oh, and sign me up for the class action law suit! Even though they fixed it they owe me for 5 hours and cleaning up all that mess on the floor!

Bought new in March of 2013. Delivery man plug it in, power up and he left. I then went back in the house to run a cycle. It made a locking noise and then it turned off. I ran out to tell the delivery guy but he was too far down the street to stop. Called the Best Buy, told them the problem. Next delivery was 2 week out for they were out of this unit. Or I can have the floor model. I took the floor model. Just after a year all the water blew out the bottom. The pump assembly completely broke in half dropping the pump on the floor. I called Samsung for a part and was told there was no longer a part made for this unit. "How could this be, it is less than 2 year old," I told them. The operator did not know and had no answers for me. She also told there was no problems with the washer even though there is 1000's on line. So I jerry rig it back up with glue and bailing wire and 1 inch race car HI pressure hose clamps. It works but still after 6 months it fell apart again. Never again will I buy any Samsung products.

I purchased this pair October 2012. I bought an extended warranty on the washer and not the dryer. MY FIRST MISTAKE. The washing machine has had the pump replaced at the 2 year marker and the ability of this machine to wash clothes is minimal. It does not use enough water and the clothes are not ever clean. They still smell after they have finished the cycle. I am now adding about 13 gallons of water at the beginning of each load just so that there is water to begin the wash cycle with. The dryer which I did not buy the extended warranty had the drum break and have to be replaced. The technician was free for the service call, the drum was $300.00 and the cost to put the new drum in was $200.00. I should have just replaced the dryer and been done with it. I would never buy another Samsung washing machine or dryer again. Pieces of **.

Had Samsung WA400PJHDWRA top load washer just over a year when first problem started with rinse cycle. All loads were unbalanced and had the same error message DC that would come up sometimes. At others it would just keep returning to rinse and spin cycle over and over. When first called customer service they said the unit was out of warranty before anything else. Lined up local company to repair and they said yes it was out of year warranty but problem was direct drive unit that balanced load. That was under 10-year warranty. It was replaced but same problem again but this time the housing for the drum is chewed up on one side. It was so out of balance that it rubbed the top rim so much it splintered the hard plastic. After reading of the other problems I am going to replace.

Samsung washer model#WA456DRHDSU/AA was purchased and installed in November of 2012. In Oct 2014 we were flooded by the faulty pump mechanism (a known issue to many of the consumer blogs) and replaced the entire pump and its wiring device as it had been re-designed by Samsung ($470). Just this week we have had drum issues and our technician indicated that it's either the drum sensor or another sensor and that he will order both in the event that they both have to be replaced. I have asked him to call me with costs prior to ordering... We paid almost $1800 for the set just over two years ago. My chat with Samsung basically failed to produce any outcome from the very pleasant CSA. Samsung will be leaving our laundry room in 2015...Happy New year!

In 2011 I purchased a Samsung top load washer, Model #WA5471ABP XAAA. Within a few months I noticed rust stains on our whites. I assumed it was due to my husband working in an aluminum foundry. I thought metal particles were coming from his clothes so I started rinsing his clothes in our old washer prior to washing them in our new washer which didn’t seem to help. After a couple more months I noticed my detergent drawer having rusty water in it after the washing cycle. I removed the drawer and wiped it out and as I wiped noticed under the lid about an inch and a half there was rusty gunk build up. I noticed a couple screws under the lid and thought that was the problem. OMG the screws were rusting. So I removed the screws and cleaned them as well as giving my washer a good cleaning.
I went through the next year so frustrated because I just knew the washer I spent $900 on was not causing this problem. Right? I mean how could this be my expensive top of the line washer rusting from the inside and damaging our clothes? I go through life blaming my husband’s job for this disaster and just 3 weeks ago notice this thin piece of metal coming from under the lid. If you feel under the lid you can feel 2 small gaps and the second one back is where this thin piece of metal came from so I call best buy and explain what I’m experiencing and they tell me I’m no longer warranty and they won’t do anything. My argument is how can you not take ownership of selling defective merchandise?
The lady then tells me how I used a washer for 3 years and now want to return it coz I’m unhappy. I again explain that it is unacceptable for a top of the line product to rust this way. She tells me to call Samsung as the manufacturer warranty is up. I figure ok I’ll call Samsung. Surely they stand behind their product. I was wrong. They tell me this is a cosmetic issue and nothing can be done. How can this be cosmetic when it is clearly a defective issue? I gave my washer a good look over and see rusting around the rim of the bleach cup. WTF! Defective machines should not be so pricey. I wish there was a way to hold them accountable. Class action anyone? What can we do?

However, no matter what setting it is on, the spin cycle is so forceful that I end up having to iron everything. I have tried the low spin cycle, but still the same result. Also my clothes have been coming out with blueish stains on them that will not come out in another wash. It looks like it could be the fabric softener. I use very little and I also put that and the detergent in before adding the clothes to the drum. Very frustrating. A lot of clothes have been ruined. Not happy with this washer at all.

He said it's due to plastic gears????? There are times the washer stops indicating drain blocked. It is not nor are the suds an issue. The rinse and spin doesn't work. Begins always as if you are doing a load of wash all over again. Even unplugging the washer to reset it doesn't work. I just wrote a comment on the dreadful Samsung refrigerator I have but forgot the mold along the rubber seal inside the door. I did call this to the attention of the repairman. His comment was to keep it wiped down. Mold should never be an issue yet the seals show it does happen. Alongside the fan overheating, the water flooding the crisper, the uneven cooling in the refrigerator. Until the repairman comes this week I must unplug it because it seems to overheat and there is enough room surrounding to allow air flow (anticipating off the wall excuses as to why it's flooding or overheating).

Dryers are meant to last 10-15 years per Consumer Reports and for the below to happen to me and so many others in less than 3 years without a satisfactory recall is a crime. For this to have only a 1 year warranty is a crime. Please learn from my experience and STAY AWAY from Samsung Appliances at all costs. I can't speak to their newer models but are you going to chance wasting $700-1300 because Samsung has not improved their manufacturing process of these dryer drums???
MY EXPERIENCE - I purchased a washer and dryer in January of 2012 (Washer model WF350ANW; Dryer model DV350AEW) and by November of 2014 the dryer started thumping and several clothes were torn. When viewing inside, the drum was cracked and clothes had gotten caught in the crack during tumbling. The crack is 2-3" long and along the seam/weld. I called Samsung and talked to the Executive Customer Relations department after being forwarded from the normal Customer Service line. They originally refused to do anything because there is only a 1 year warranty on the item. However, a cracked drum seems like an obvious flaw that should never occur. After some research there have been many people who had this problem but that did not convince Samsung to do anything for me. They only offered for me to buy an extended warranty for $320 that would cover the parts repair and give me an additional 1 year. But why would I want to pay that much for what is very likely to happen again because the drum has a high occurrence of cracking within 3 years (many people reported within 1.5 years)???
So I was told that if I set up a Samsung Service Request and the technician deemed that it was due to a defective item, then the repair or replacement would be covered. So I agreed, paid $90 for a tech to come out and after they deemed it a defective item, took pictures and sent them back to Samsung. Few days later I was told by the Repair Facility that Samsung would not cover any costs. When I called Samsung to dispute this, they confirmed that they received the pictures but they said that according to the notes, there was no record of me being told that Samsung would cover the cost of a defective item when out of warranty even though I set up the service request as instructed. I was told that all verbal correspondence from me and the representative is supposed to be recorded in the notes. Their calls are recorded so I have had the December 19th call escalated to the right department for review to confirm that I was told that a Defective Item would be repaired at no cost to me. To make such an "offer" without due diligence of recording it in the notes is absolutely a deceptive practice in my opinion.
This has been a terrible experience, especially since I have a 5 month old that needs clothes laundered daily. She has been wearing crusty clothes and using crusty bibs for 3 weeks as I am not using the dryer as instructed by the repair technician (otherwise Samsung may refuse to cover repairs by telling me I made things worse). After so many calls and disputes, it doesn't seem that Samsung is willing to back up their product or improve on their lousy service. Again, STAY AWAY. It's not worth the risk, literally.

First the element went out in the dryer on the 3rd year. My husband to save money, ordered and replaced that himself. I noticed that the reason the dryer probably burnt out the element is that it collected lint inside the housing. Then the washer did not drain out the water after running, and that mildewed and stunk. Next it started making a clicking sound in the back. We re-leveled the machine and the noise has gotten worse. The best we can figure is rear bearing. We have just passed the 5 year date. Machines that will not last more than 5 years of lighter laundry are not worth buying and I will never consider another Samsung anything, especially from reading what others have written.
Our last washer and dryer was the Maytag Neptune series, also part of a major class action lawsuit. It get harder and harder to know what to buy, what will be reliable. Did I mention that front door cover fell off and shattered on the tile? Or that the washer dispenser broke when I pulled it out? The washer does not get clothes clean and they are still soaking wet when finished. The dryer takes forever to dry clothes but I guess that should be expected as wet as they are coming from the washer. You can't wash blankets (or large items) because you get an unbalanced load code and you have to wring them out by hand in order to get them to finish. Most disturbing is that when they finally got me through to the repair department, I was told that this is cosmetic but that they (Samsung) would do a one time courtesy free repair and that I simply had to call samsungs ECR dept. Upon calling them to find out where to send the pictures of the damage, I was told that they don't do that type of thing. Samsung is absolute garbage. I purchased a washer and dryer set from Lowe's 4 months ago because we too just built a new house. 4 months after purchasing the dryer's heat quit working, which by the way is the main function of any working dryer. I called Samsung and they scheduled a technician from Herb Snow and Sons Maytag here in Wichita. A week later the technician showed up, ran a couple of cycles and said "Yup the dryer is not working" and ordered two replacement parts. All be it, he never even opened any component of the dryer. A week later they sent a different technician out to install the parts. He did and guess what??? He asked if the first tech opened the machine and ran any diagnostics and I told him "no". His response was "typical". "Well I'm sorry sir but these parts are not the problem. I have to replace the board."
He left and ordered the board and called me back another week later. He came out opened the box and guess what??? Samsung sent the wrong board. They sent a board for a washer not my dryer. So once again he called Samsung and ordered the right part. Another week passes and they schedule another appt. The following week they call me back to schedule another appt. They came out and guess what???? The board they sent was the right one... but (always a but with these people). The board they sent had the exact same problem as the original one in my machine. It doesn't freaking work. So by now (if you do the math) I have been without a dryer for 5 weeks, taken off work 5 times to meet the technician that only gives a 6-hr window for service and when I called Samsung again I too was transferred to their executive customer (**), I mean support dept.
The first guy I talked to told me that since it had been over 25 days and more than 3 trips from the repair facility I qualified for a replacement unit. He said someone from their exchange center would be in contact with me with 48 hrs. I waited 5 days and no contact so I called. Explained my case 3 different time to 3 different people only to find out that my "claim" for a new unit was denied because only one attempt had been made to actually repair the unit. lol. I pointed out that they did not call me to tell me this and instead waited for me to call 5 days later. Their response was "We tried to call you and your phone was disconnected" LMFAO.
This still has not been resolved and when I tried to go on their website and Lowe's website to write a review guess what???? Even though I carefully read the requirements for posting a review they both sent me an email saying my review was not posted because I didn't follow the policy. Absolute BS... I wrote an honest review and they denied it because it was negative, nothing more. I Used no profanity or anything like that... but I'm not surprised at all based on what I have seen so far with this company. I rarely do the laundry, but my wife just happened to ask me to take the washed clothes out and put them in the dryer. When I went to unload the wash I was shocked. What started out as a little bit of discoloration around the edge has now turned into an inch wide rust ring eating through the paint following the circumference of the bleach dispenser and has me alarmed. This is obviously a manufacturer’s defect. I've never seen anything like it on a washer. I sent Samsung an email inquiring about this problem and will see what they say, but from what I've been seeing searching on the net is this is not an isolated incident and seems to be an issue with the production of this washer. WA422PRHDWR - Hindsight is 20-20. Upon delivery of new machine I noticed the bottom of stainless steel tub was not "centered." It was off. I remember I ran my fingers along the edge where there is a stainless ring, like a cove of pool, that covers the joint of side to bottom. The bottom is not stainless, well, the bottom of tub is stainless but it is covered with a plastic rotating (with small ridges) floor. The so-called floor was not centered. I accepted the unit without saying a thing. I just shook it off.
Well, here I am less than 18 mos later and the separation is distinct and is now "catching" clothing. I've had 3 pieces of clothing stuck quite tightly in the last 10 loads. Clothing has not been ruined yet, but if the clothing had been other than my husbands sturdy work clothes, like my nicer work clothes, the pulling and dislodging from the separated seam would have ruined the clothes. I have very good cell phone pics showing the inside floor edge that is pulled from the side of tub wall, the joint is no longer covered by a stainless "cove." Samsung was readily available by phone on a Saturday. Samsung will not cover the expense of service call or labor, parts only if they decide it is a tub warranty issue.
#1) Back to hindsight, I should have rejected delivery back in July 2013. #2) I should have paid for extended warranty sold by Home Depot (maybe not, I'm not a real fan of those), #3) I am trying to research to see if I can just use a caulk to seal the area and forget about it, #4) Well, no, I'll still send Samsung my very good pictures with a nasty but polite letter. #5) When the local service team calls me "in 1 or 2 business days" I'm going to tell them that - I'll try caulk and send letter and pics to Samsung. To hell with paying for anything, I'll be damned.

Second more serious issue was drain pump breaking off its mount, causing washer water to flood laundry room portion of the house. Samsung has identified this as a "reliability issue" and sells a "washing machine drain pump service kit (DC98-01877B)" which relocates the drain pump from the bottom of the tub to the base of the washer ($89 plus shipping + service person > $300 + Water Damage). This is not a reliability issue it is a design issue (they changed the design for models made after Dec 2012). I can buy a new washer for what it is going to cost to fix this. The Samsung washer is going to the junkyard where it belongs.

The front door leaks at the bottom of the glass and plastic insert. It has turned green from the algae trapped in there and is most unsightly. It can't be cleaned unless you take the whole door apart. The washing machine becomes unbalanced very easily then will not spin. If your load isn't absolutely perfect with the same type weights of clothing inside and just the right amount, it becomes unbalanced. This results in the machine dancing across the floor and failing to spin. Do not purchase a Samsung front load washing machine. If you are moving and the previous landowners have one and are leaving it behind, don't accept it. Insist they take it with them and get something else.

The washer started making a horrible noise during the spin cycle. They had to replace the bearing and outer drum. You know about that smell. Well folks, there was such a build up of soap and softener behind the metal drum it was disgusting. Then after a month, another noise started and then a number of service calls. The horrible noise that was coming from the washer was the counter weight bolts being loose. The first time I used the Pure cycle, there was water on the floor. Now after using the Pure cycle the second time, water drips in front of the washer. Fortunately, they cannot fix it and under my contract with GS, I will get a replacement washer of my choice. No way a Samsung.

Just read Jennifer (Hyde Park) review. I bought my washer in March 2010 and the drum has disconnected. The tech said it was from using too much detergent which leaves foam in the water causing the machine not to fill properly. I have only used HE detergent and not much 2 tbsp/wash. No warranty left so my machine cost to repair is $1000.

On Nov. 11, 2014 while washing clothes in our 18-month-old Samsung washer (WA456DRHDWR/AA) washer started thump and bang. Then there was a thump under the washer and water was pumping out all over the laminate flooring and then ruining the floor. I pulled the washer out to check from behind. I took the back panel off to find the water pump sitting on the floor and water everywhere. I then called the 1-800-469-4663 Sears repair centre. The Sears repair person took all the info and said someone would call us right back. That call never did come.
After a large amount of calls and have spoken to at least 19 different people, they said a repair contractor would call us. That call never came until Nov 18. The person said they would be here on Wed Nov 19th. And then another call from Sears service centre came and they said they couldn't make it until Nov. 20. The service contractor came to my home only to find there was no replacement part there to install. We are now at Dec 3rd 2014. That's right. It is now 3 weeks without our washing machine. Parts in transit. We are frustrated and Sears doesn't seem to care. Requests for supervisors or managers have never once called.
The service that Sears is giving is not acceptable or reliable. They have lied. After checking reviews online about this product there is a very consistent problem with model of washer. There should have been a recall as there is an obvious design flaw with this machine. Sears will never get my business again. Frustrated. Expect action in this matter either. We still have 18 months left on the three year warranty.

We agree with Byron of NC. We have had our front load washing machine for 3 years and the washing machine is junk! Called Samsung only to be told there is nothing they can do. They have to know there is a manufacturing mistake having to do with the drum. Byron hit it right on the head when he said this product should be recalled! When you spend $1,800.00 on a washer and dryer you expect them to last more than 3 years! I will never buy anything made by Samsung ever again. EVER!

I purchased this washing machine from the Home Depot on Nov 16, 2014. It was delivered to my house on Nov 22 and stopped working on Nov 30. My brand new washer I paid $600+ dollars for broke in 9 DAYS!!! It would not even power on. I called Samsung and after pressing 1 for English and all the other automated questions to get transferred to the correct department the computer voice informed me that I would have to go online because their office wasn't open on Sunday. So I found an online chat with a Samsung representative on the website only for her to ask me stupid questions like 'Is the appliance plugged in?' She then sent me a link so I could request for a repairman to come to my house and look at the machine.
The next day I got a call from Samsung from someone that could barely speak English who informed me that they were going to send me an e-mail with troubleshooting tips and if that didn't work I would have to submit another request to get a repairman to come my house. The e-mail was cute to say the least. It had similar advice like is the machine plugged in and is it on, it own 120 volt circuit. I am absolutely LIVID. I went back to the Home Depot to return it and after fighting with them a little, I finally can get this piece of ** returned. STAY AWAY!!!

We bought a front loader about 3 years ago from Sears. From the very beginning it has never worked properly. My clothes would come out wet and then would take forever drying them. Plus it would take forever to wash a load of clothes. Just because it says 60 minutes for one load, it would sometimes take 2 hours! Now my washer isn't even working. Buyer beware of this horrible made machine.

I bought a washing machine WF70F5E2W2W/EU which is NOT recommended at all. I have reported that a couple of days of receiving this malfunctioning appliance. I have been told to send videos and pictures that I have already done. I have received a phone call from the technical team who said they will issue me with an uplift number to return the product as it is not functioning and reported within the first 28 days of purchase. I have received another phone call today from them today to say they will not issue the number!!! I have recorded all the names and the dates for the calls and I have the videos that shows the malfunctioning product. The technical team refused to put me through to the customer service department and refused to give me a phone number to call to solve this issue. This is appalling, very poor and incompetent service. I need to raise a complain about this product and about the way my issue that been handled by the technical team and need my refund.

I purchased a Samsung front load washer and dryer in August 2014. On October 31st my washer showed a code of ND, I did live chat and they had me pull the front filter. When doing that it flooded my laundry room. After going through all that it then showed code LO. That's the door lock. Live chat said, "I'm sorry you need to call for service." I called Samsung on November 3rd. They set up a time for a repairman to come out. He fixes the washer and leaves. I washed 9 loads and it does the same thing.
The repairman comes out a 2nd time fixes a another part. Now I do 4 loads and same code AGAIN! NOW MY SON'S PANTS ARE LOCKED IN THERE. He had to miss school and I had to purchase new pants. The same repairman comes out a 3rd time, and on the 3rd load it does the same thing. Tomorrow December 2nd will be the 4th repairman coming. Samsung has the worst customer service and DO NOT care about the inconvenience this has been. The money I have spent since October 31st going to the laundry mat, repurchasing the cloths I've lost, has not even been offered back to me. They say the only way for any reimbursement is if they find the washer defective. This is the biggest mistake I have made when purchasing a washer. I have purchased a whirlpool front loader washer and will be getting rid of the Samsung set and will never purchase a Samsung product again!!!

If you're going to buy a washer and dryer, purchase a front load Whirlpool, had mine for 12-years and, as long as you do your maintenance, they are the stuff. Stop getting ripped off. Love Lowe's, do most of my shopping there, not their fault, Samsung manufactures. Need to learn a lot and need to start studying now if they want to keep their business.
