Samsung refrigerator RFG297AABP - I purchased my refrigerator from Lowe's in late 2008... Since new the ice maker has been more trouble. Nine, yes NINE new ice maker units since new. And now the ninth one is dead... I have spend over $1000.00 on a $3000.00 refrigerator, just have ice. To make matters worse, the front door under the ice maker has more rust, from the leaking ice maker, than a 30 year old ship rusting at sea. As a single father of four girls, money is tight and we can no longer budget a thousand plus dollars for ice! I can not recommend to anyone a Samsung product ... that continues to cost this much after purchase... and at seven years, is rusted so bad. Whatever happened to pride in the products that are produced?

We bought a refrigerator from Samsung and within 6 months the freezer fan unit became noisy. Since it was under warranty they came out and fixed it and told us that there was an engineering defect with the fan unit. It was repaired very quickly but now the same issue has come up six months later and refrigerators is not under warranty. We have come to a point we cannot even sit in our kitchen because of the noise it's producing. We've also been told that this model as well as many other models of theirs have the same issue. Please avoid Samsung when looking for a refrigerator.

I bought what I was told to be a top of the line Samsung Refrigerator in December 2013. This stainless steel appliance cost upwards of $2000 dollars. It broke down October 7, 2015 it was rendered useless because the control panel went out. At this point we have been waiting three weeks for a part. It is BACK ORDERED AND SAMSUNG IS UNWILLING TO RECTIFY.

Also own this lemon (model rf217acpn) and contacted Samsung. Looks like they want to help which is a joke as they're paying a tech to come out & diagnose the problem. They know the problem, everyone who bought this dog has complained. Samsung has been sued in 2010 over this via a class action suit! I think it's been settled but they have still not learned their lesson in that they continue to screw the public with this product. I'm looking into starting another class action against them seeking not only damages for this but also for punitive damages for not correcting there knowing & egregious conduct.

We are retired and on a budget save for 15 years to buy new appliances. The Samsung refrigerator has never worked properly, warranty serviceman was out three times to repair ice maker. They replaced board and ran a tube of caulking around unit. He said it was bad design and was sucking air from fridge section. It worked two weeks. Our warranty was up Sept 24. We tried to renew warranty before and they said it had to be added 90 days before it was up. My husband has brain and lung cancer and I have multiple myeloma. We have a year old fridge and no ice living in Phoenix Az. Believe me we use ice, although it's just the two of us. Thank god, I'm 67 my husband is 72. This seems like a very unfair practice by Samsung. We have had many other appliances over the years and they have worked well. The old fridge is 15 years old and still working in the garage. Thank you.

I bought a Samsung refrigerator a year ago. I started to notice the temperature will rise in the freezer then drop causing food to sweat and frost over causing ice to stick together and not go through the icemaker. Called Samsung multiple times and got the runaround from one department to another department never heard back. The ice cubes are so big they get stock in the opening and fails to fall into the cup. Because the temperature fluctuates ice cubes sweat stick together when the temperature drops again now they're too big to fall through the opening so you're constantly taking the icemaker tray out breaking up the ice. This refrigerator has made me so sick that I'm buying a new one and I'm going to donate this one to the goodwill. It's better than nothing for someone who needs a refrigerator.

I've owned the Samsung Fridge for 28 months and noticed that items in the freezer were thawing out. Called Samsung was given their authorized repair shop. 3 business day wait (Do they have a lot of work?). The coolant chemical Freon was leaking. I tell Samsung "this is not normal" and they say "Well it's past warranty so you are on your own". Over $1,000 to repair to the fridge is basically worthless. No sense repairing the existing piece of garbage so I will buy a new one. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy a Samsung. Quality is poor and they will NOT back you up when this problem occurs.

We bought the 345 Ltr RT 35 refrigerator in May 2010 in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. It was working well till May 2015. After which the lower door was not getting closed properly and defrost was not functional. After noting the problem, it was reported to the concerned authority and customer care number provided by Samsung in month of June. We were told to change the position, restart the refrigerator, which did not help. After persistent problem, it was again reported to customer care on 19th Sept. Again the executive told us to lift the lower door, but nobody visited our place. After repeated complaints, one of the technical person came to our place, changed the IC and told us that "Your defrosting problem is solved, but door problem cannot be solved as the refrigerator purchase date is more than 5 years old."

After pursuing the problem with customer care, we were told that the parts are not available and nothing can be done as company has stopped the production of said model. We have made several calls to customer care but the only answer we could get was, "Sorry, we don't have the parts." Had it been before 5 years of date of purchase, we would have got the parts and not now after 5 years and 1 month; and now another version has come up from local dealer saying, "It was the last piece of the lot." It was not told to us during purchase and now we are facing problems with the refrigerator, which are still unsolved and may not get solved considering the answers we are getting from customer care. Pathetic way of solving problems for a common man, who may have to put large part of his fortune into buying another refrigerator, which won't be Samsung anymore.

Samsung RSG257AARS side by side refrigerator - July 2014 we noticed that our freezer was not working. No ice and the food was thawing out. I called Samsung because we had purchase the unit in 2009 but I have always at least gotten 10 years out of a refrigerator. The customer service representative agreed with me but said the only thing she could do for me was to sell me a 1-year extended warranty. That was her solution so that I could get someone out to check it and repair it. So I bought the warranty. In the meantime I lost a whole freezer full of food. I called the service company and they said the soonest I could get someone to come look at it would be September. So I said I have to go without a freezer for 2 months? Well we had no choice and keep a cooler full of ice out on our patio so we could get through the rest of the summer without ice and a freezer.

The first repair man arrived in September. He ordered some parts and we were told to call them as soon as the parts arrived and they would send out another repair person to install and repair the freezer. So the parts came in a few weeks, we called the repair service company and had a repair person arrive in another 2 weeks. So it is now October, no freezer and the regular refrigerator part of the unit is acting up. The second repair man shows up but the parts that arrived were not correct. He was able to bypass something so we could keep food cold. But he also ordered other parts and checked the other side of the unit. It also needs parts. So 2 more weeks wait for more parts.

It is now December 2014 and the parts arrive, we call in for the third repair person. He arrives, re-checked everything and said that none of the new parts ordered would fix the problem so he ordered more parts. Those parts arrive in January 2015. Still no freezer and our other refrigerator side of this unit is getting worse. We called again for another repair person. The fourth repair person came out and said they did not need the parts that they found a leak in the line. He repaired it. It worked for a few months and then started all over again. A fifth repair person came out but not until April. He checked everything and they had to recharge the unit again. So it worked until June - this is 2015. So we have gone 1 year with it working for a month or maybe two then we start all over again.

Anyway they said that in June they could not get back until the first of September. The sixth service person charged it again and it was good until yesterday. Now I have to call again and have them come out again. This has been a 2-year process of an on and off refrigeration unit. Samsung should have given me credit and I should have been able to buy another unit. Instead I am having to basically have someone come to my home every other month to work on this unit. We are totally frustrated and would love to ship this to Samsung so they they can use it as a paperweight because that is about all it can do consistently.

On 21 January 2014 I purchased a Samsung 924L 4dr ref steel fridge for a lot of money. Approx some time in September 2015 had to ring Samsung to inform them that I had no ice. I was taken to the Philippines and spoke to a representative who explained to me that they would send someone out from Nerang to look at the fridge. (By the way I did purchase product care which meant that the fridge was under 6 years warranty.) A person after 3 days came out and was late for their appointment (didn't apologise) and said that the fridge had ice and that I should not touch the button on the rhs as this would cause problems and that ice would not produce if the temperatures were wrong. (I was dumbfounded that Samsung would put a button on their fridge and that the consumer should not touch it.)

I was also informed that if I had created the mistake I would have to pay for it (do you believe this). I agree that I touched the button after reading their manual for troubleshooting ideas but I don't believe that I had anything to do with breaking this fridge (disgusting customer service representation on their part). I then, after about a week and a half was stuck with the same problem and therefore contacted product care. I was quite taken aback when I was spoken to by a representative from Australia and not overseas. I then realised that I had contacted Samsung direct the first time. The lady I spoke to was very nice and informed me that even though I still had my original warranty with Samsung Product Care was the necessary component I should have spoken to at first.

Well, anyway they then informed me that they needed to send out a repairman to see the damage to the fridge. I was very happy about this but asked them if they would not use the company in Nerang and she then told me that this company was not on their records and I could choose a company from Tweed Heads or Southport. I chose the Company from Southport and a gentleman came out within a couple of days and informed me that my ice maker was broken. He suggested that since I had a replacement option it was probably better to do that. I was then informed by him to ring Product Care to let them know that he would be sending his report through asap. I did that the same afternoon and heard nothing for about a week. I was very frustrated and was told by Product Care that they never received the report from the repairman.

I then contacted the repair service and was told that I was not able to have the report sent to me direct as it was inconceivable that they could do this. I requested to speak to a supervisor or someone in charge to explain why. This person, Camillia responded by saying that the report stated that the icemaker was broken and also the motherboard and because it was a big problem they had been contacted by Samsung direct and had been informed to deal with them direct and not product care. I find this ridiculous. Firstly I am the client, customer service should dictate that I should be fully aware of what is going on. Of course not, we are dealing with Samsung. Product Care rang me to inform me that this was nonsense and that I had been issued a full refund less product care and that I would get a new fridge asap.

Firstly I needed to contact Domayne where I originally bought the fridge from and purchase another fridge which I did. I had to purchase another fridge and pay a second time for product care. I find this unbelievable. I must mention that I got a call from Camillia in regards to the above on my answering service to inform me that the matter had been escalated to a review centre at Samsung and that I should contact them. I find this incredible. Why are companies like this allowed to get away with treating their consumers so shabbily.

We purchased a very expensive/nice Samsung refrigerator two years ago. Recently we smelled a burning smell and then woke up to find that the entire refrigerator had gone out. The handy dandy electronic panel on the front complete with wifi/music/weather was still working perfectly saying that the fridge was cooling. IT WAS NOT! After, transferring the entire fridge/freezer to multiple coolers on a Sunday we proceeded to call to get a repairman on Monday morning. Well, come to find out not many people can repair these fridges! So, we talked to Samsung customer service who promised to send someone out. A day later, we hear from someone who is coming the next day. Mind you it has now been three days without refrigeration.

They finally show up, after we were talked into purchasing a protection plan for another year since ours had expired. After looking at the refrigerator for ten minutes it is decided that the entire compressor is out. They put the fridge right back in place and said they would be in touch. They have to ORDER the compressor (which takes two weeks at least) after they call to get it covered by Samsung. Apparently the compressor is covered for 5 years which means we didn't need to buy the other coverage for $300. I will NEVER buy another Samsung anything and I just want to let everyone else know to steer clear!!!! I hope Samsung will read this and someone up the line at Corporate will take a look at their customer service department!

We purchased our Samsung refrigerator, model # RFG238AARS on May 28, 2012. Glad we did not purchase any other Samsung appliances since. This one has been a frequent headache. In the beginning we were able to get many things fixed under warranty. We did not purchase the extended warranty. If a product is good, one should not be necessary. We have frost all through the freezer. This problem occurred during the first year of owning it and was fixed. A refrigerator that costs over $3,000 should last longer than 3 years. We also have rust in the tray under the water and ice dispenser. I thought stainless did not rust.

I will never buy any appliance from Samsung again. I did call Lowe's to let them know how disappointed we are with a product they carry. I wish I had seen and read the reviews I have just read of other people's experiences with the Samsung refrigerator. We liked that it was cabinet depth and made ice in 2 places, in the door and in the freezer section. Samsung should stick with what they know and they do not know how to produce a quality refrigerator that is worth what we paid. Samsung should reimburse at least half of what we paid for this refrigerator.

Purchased from Lowes, my advice is to look for any other brand that has no affiliation to Samsung. Within the first 2 months, water would only occasionally work. Called 1-800-Samsung Junk, got the run around, they had me do all types of tests to make sure I was knowledgeable on how to push the lever to dispense. After an hour they said they would call a repair center in my area and someone would call me. Waited two weeks with numerous calls to repair center and Samsung.

2 months later someone showed up around 7pm for a 2pm appointment (where I had to get off work early), he had the wrong parts. 2 weeks later called and set up a new appointment, I came home a day early from vacation to meet appt. Morning of appointment they called and cancelled saying they had the wrong parts again. Finally month later it was fixed after numerous calls. Well six months later the piece of junk is no longer working, Oh yeah, its out of warranty. Time to buy another brand. Samsung should be ashamed of their products, but looks like a lot of people are buying them and getting burnt.

We purchased a new Samsung refrigerator in July, 2015 and immediately noticed loud popping and cracking noises. I contacted Samsung and was told this was normal due to our purchase of a model with automatic defrost. (Is there a manufacturer that still makes a manual defrost refrigerator?) No help here, so later I began a Live Chat on Samsung's website to again register my complaint. I was eventually given a link to request a service technician to come and examine the refrigerator. The link failed and I lost all contact with the rep. I then called the service request department and had a long conversation with a nice lady that again confirmed that the noise was normal. I donated a 20 year old Whirlpool that I wish I could get back and dump this Samsung. Never will I ever consider buying any other Samsung product.

My Samsung refrigerator is just 1 year old and the technicians have visited almost every month due to one or the other problem. It started just over a month when I realized that any fruit or vegetable I kept outside the vegetable compartment had ice in it. Even the cooked vegetables if kept in the back of the shelf had ice in it. I kept on complaining this issue to Samsung Customer Service. Every time they will send a technician who will change the part and go. It was more of a pain as I couldn't use the fridge to full capacity. As instructed by technicians there were so many things which I shouldn't put in certain shelves or the size of boxes. I kept away leftovers or anything cooked/half cooked. I don't remember till date if I ever had to be so careful in using the refrigerator. I couldn't use half of the space in refrigerator fearing it will get spoiled.

Not only that, my refrigerator stopped working completely 3 times in just a span of 1 year. Again they had to change the parts. I kept on calling them and asking them to change the refrigerator as it was giving me so many problems (not to forget just in 1 year- full warranty period) but they just turned deaf ear to my requests, even when I contacted their supervisor. I'll never ever recommend Samsung refrigerator to anyone after this experience. It looks like every time the warranty expires, I'll have to keep purchasing extended warranty and bear with the refrigerator. This Samsung product has been a big pain in the ass.

I called Samsung and was switched from one person to another, telling my whole story over and over. Eventually, they gave me someone in Dallas who said they couldn't get anyone to come to my house for three days. I threw away all food, waited for the serviceman, and when he finally got here, was told the fan to the compressor was not working, but he did not have the part. I was charged $180 for his visit. He said he had to order the part and would try to be back Monday, another 3 days away. Monday he said the part wasn't in. Tuesday, the part wasn't in. Wednesday, the part FINALLY arrived and he came back and replaced the fan. Then, amazingly, that didn't work either. Now he said he had to replace the whole motherboard and I had to pay for both parts.

After spending almost $500, I now had a refrigerator and freezer again after over 10 days. I am so upset. I saved for years to buy a new frig, spent a ton of money to buy it, and loved the new one until this happened. I thought they would do the right thing by at least coming quickly and making the repairs in a reasonable time and at a reasonable cost, but I was wrong. I called, they sent repair person here Feb 13 2015. Within 3 months it started again called right away. They sent the same part for a new repair - which was the entire BACK of the fridge - this time will do it! That was June 30/15 and we have been calling Samsung now for a few weeks as it started again?

When do they come clean and give me a new fridge? This is obviously unfixable and a malfunction of this fridge - what can I do? So far all my calls say "sorry already fixed 2x, no more for you"??? Not good!!! I have a basic 2 door model - no ice maker, no water, just a fridge with freezer on the bottom. I need help - willing to repair but will it really work this time? Do I spend the money or toss this fridge and refuse to EVER buy Samsung again?

My case resolved! Once I provided a receipt from a local appliance repair service that the condenser seized (luckily I saw the sealed system was under a 5yr warranty while researching a fix online). Samsung attempted to have one of their authorized service centers send someone out to verify/repair.

Turns out there is no authorized service in my area so Samsung moved my ticket to refund/exchange status (again I was lucky in this regard or I would probably be back to battling ice if it was repaired). After providing a copy of the purchase receipt and pics with the power cord cut and serial numbers removed I received a full refund in about a week. Customer Service was helpful once I had a valid claim to warranty service.

Now it has totally stopped cooling. I contacted Samsung service for help in resolving the issues. Warranty expired. Was told that they were not aware of this problem and cannot go by what is posted on the web and on my own to have service done. Nearest Samsung authorized service about 50 miles away. They should do the honorable thing and fix these units and get out of the appliance business!

It will have to be serviced 3 times under them before it can be deemed unfixable. 6 service calls REALLY on the same problem. We have to cut it off for days to let it thaw, then turn it back on and it may or may not work for a few days. I'm not a repairman but I think it's a sensor or bad circuit board.. Samsung is hard to work with and Lowe's and Golden in Home service even worst. We had Lowe's give us 3 appointments only to have Golden in Home to cancel. Don't shop at Lowe's. Don't buy their warranty... DON'T BUY SAMSUNG. ANYTHING!!

So our Samsung refrigerator that we bought for about $3500 stopped working entirely three weeks after the five year warranty expired. We called them up and told them they should fix it since it's like a car that's completely worthless a couple of weeks after the warranty expires. Nobody would ever buy such a car. So they sold us an extended warranty for $345.

After sending four different firms out over a month, they concluded that it's not worth fixing. So now they decided to refund our $345. To which I said they're just running a scam. If Samsung sells us the warranty but has no intention to honor it anytime the repair is expensive, what they're saying it will only sell you warranty if the warranty repairs are less than what you paid us. Otherwise we'll just borrow your money for free until we give it back. Sounds like it's a total fraud. Please contact me if you have purchased a warranty from Samsung and are interested in participating in a class action lawsuit.

I am to remove food, leave it off for a day so the ice build up around the fan defrosts. Had to buy a storage container for food and will have to get ice while this lovely piece of useless whatever.

The only good thing I bought the extended coverage otherwise it would be costly. I might add that when the fan becomes blocked with ice the refrigerator will overheat. Feel the company knew about issues. Read the booklet that comes with it - mentions water and unplugging it. Rather than redesign the refrigerator it was cheaper to reprint the book.

Since purchasing in 2012 this refrigerator has been a constant problem. We have had to defrost the freezer 6 times due to ice buildup. And now for the second time the refrigerator is not working. The back panel freezes. The fan then breaks due to the ice buildup which causes the motor to stop. This has happened twice at a $500 cost to fix. Now in addition to the refrigerator not working there is ice building the size of a large melon in the lower right hand interior panel. We have been told this is due to bad insulation and is a product defect.

We contacted customer service and they told us the repair company is not Samsung authorized. The Samsung authorized service did not return our calls for service. We have tried them again and they ask we wait 5 days before a serviceman can conduct a home visit. So we have non-working refrigerator. It has been classified as a product defect. We cannot get service. Samsung help desk is not giving us support. A Lemon!!!

I note that there is a class action lawsuit initiated in the U.S. I propose we do the same in Canada as well as hold retailers who sell the product responsible too. This refrigerator was the most expensive in the store, but I thought it would be the best and it is the absolute worst. For $3,500, you would think you would not have to defrost the area of the ice maker. It works like the cheapest brand in the store. It doesn't give you ice cubes, just pieces of ice that go flying everywhere. Ice gets built up and clogs the ice maker and you have to take an ice pick to remove it or it won't make any ice. I absolutely hate it and I'm stuck with it for a good long time.

This is apparently a common problem with this model, a manufacturing defect. I have never experienced any issues with any refrigerators I have owned in such a short period of time. The last refrigerator I owned lasted 15 years without problems and the one before that 20 years! Also, just after a year with this inferior product, the white door handles started to peel, exposing polished chrome or steel. I thought the cosmetic damage was the worst of my complaints! Next, my ice maker chamber stopped cooling. There's nothing online about how to fix this (that I could find). Within 6 months, several of the side shelves, which they'd demonstrated as being intended to hold gallons of milk, had cracked or were broken to the point they hung of the door. This was true even of the shelves we used only to hold condiments and smaller, lighter items. Within 13 months, every single door shelf was cracked or broken and the plastic surrounds on the main shelves had cracked as well.

The warranty company said the shelves were not covered and Samsung's customer service department said they could not do anything as it was over 12 months since purchase. All they would do was provide me with a number to call so that I could pay for the new interior shelves myself. Given the price of this refrigerator, the quality is really inferior. This is accurate and fair. Here it goes. I purchased this refrigerator in 2014 from the Home Depot. I also purchased the 5 yr extended warranty (just in case). It all began with them delivering the wrong unit and it also had a hole in the back from a forklift. The delivery company left it in my driveway and drove off and in the process, ran into and wrecked my neighbor's picket fence and would not share insurance information for replacement. Yes. HD sent two young men to pick up the fridge without a lift on the back so all of us had to heft this into a high bed truck to remove it. Ended up renting a truck and picking up and installing the new one ourselves. So I have had this refrigerator for 10 months and it stopped cooling in the fridge and the freezer. I want to add that the vegetable storage units do not keep the vegetables for long at all. They go bad after a couple of days.

Back to the technicians, 3, yes 3 hours on the computer chat with a (3) tech(s) from Samsung to reset the OFF reading on the digital display. After 3 hours of attempting to reset and do all the bells and whistles to reset, the tech(s) then tell me that the panel is bad and needs a technician to go to the home location and repair it. They said to call Samsung to create a ticket. Ok, also called Asurion who has the warranty. They said they would create a ticket and send me a food loss form. Sent food loss form and then I'm told that a reimbursement will not be issued until after the repair? I then call Samsung who tells me that there should be a repair person by Wednesday or Thursday (it is Saturday) and they would create a ticket. Then I called the Home Depot who tells me that if the issue was not solved by Wednesday or Thursday they would send me a check for the fridge or a new one? WTH?

It's now Thursday (6 days after fridge quits) and no one knows about the problem or any ticket issued. I snapped. We then start all over. I am then told that it is a simple fix and I would have to pay for the repair? NO, NO, NO. I am then sent to the secondary customer person who then creates ANOTHER repair ticket and tell me that the repair person will call me in about 48 hours or so and cannot even conceivably come until next Tuesday or Wednesday. No we are into 11 days of this issue. So, this Samsung refrigerator has NO repair people in this area and yet they are continuously sold. Now what? I paid over $2,200 (on sale) for this absolute piece of mechanical scrap with the worst customer service ever. NEVER, and I mean NEVER purchase this refrigerator or any Samsung refrigerator, NEVER. Unfortunately I should have listened because six months later it's the same old problem.

Today after viewing loads of YouTube videos and reading the commentary I have no doubt this is a widespread problem with every type of Samsung refrigerator including side by side and bottom mount. The suspected causes for the malfunction range from the temperature sensor, to the heating tube around the evaporator coil, to clogged drain, to bad relay switches in the computer module, to poor software. Knowledgeable people seem to fix the problem only to have it occur again. Also made the mistake of buying a Samsung above the stove microwave that makes enough noise that I wonder if it too will blow up on me.

Wow, after reading all these reviews, I wish I would have done research before making such an important and costly purchase. We bought a Samsung Refrigerator on June 2011. Three years later it stopped cooling. Had a Sears repairman come in and replaced two panels ($250 and $175) plus $100 labor. Got it working again. Six months later, the exact thing happened. This time I'm not spending any money to repair it. So upset and disappointed. I expected their refrigerators be as good quality as their TVs. Samsung should take responsibility for their products! How is it that they get away with it?!?! No more Samsung for me, ever!

I will NEVER buy another Samsung product after the experiences I have had with this refrigerator model #RFG298HDBP. Water from the door dispenser would drip enough to fill up the reservoir and it had to be constantly maintained. While during the warranty period, the lower icemaker never worked properly or regularly. Samsung sent out a repairman who replaced the icemaker at no charge (under warranty). The replacement was of equal poor quality as it operated for a month or so before problems started. Water would overfill and spill into the ice bin... Finally, we decided to shut off the lower icemaker. The warranty had expired and I was not going to pay for a service call because I was beginning to see more problems on the horizon.

The upper icemaker would produce ice at a much slower pace, but we survived. Then the water leaking into the meat/cheese drawer began. Puddles of clean water that you could splash in the drawer... I started keeping a hand towel at the back to absorb the water and every few days I would replace the water soaked towel with a dry one. Sometimes the wet towel is frozen stiff. Then, a layer of ice was developing under the meat drawer! Water was dripping under it and freezing up. If the layer built up enough over a week's time, you would have difficulty sliding the drawer in and out and closing the drawer. As a new "maintenance routine" I take contents from the drawer, pull the drawer completely out of the refrigerator, scrape out the ice on the bottom of the refrigerator cabinet, then put the drawer back in. Can you believe this?

Many of my fresh vegetables are freezing (ruining) in the refrigerated section... not in the drawers but sitting on the shelf. At least once a week I have to go through the de-icing routine, maybe more often depending on the ice build up. As of yesterday, the door dispenser of ice and water has stopped operating. Nothing comes out of the dispenser. Zero.

Like everyone else on ConsumerAffairs, I called Samsung who referred me to their service center. I do not care to put anymore money into this lousy lemon. I would feel so guilty to sell this second hand to anyone else! But I don't want it anymore! I have never, never, never had such a terrible appliance. When we spent several thousand dollars to buy this Samsung refrigerator, I had waited a long time to buy something that would last a while and be maintenance free. This has been anything but what I had hoped for. Where's some help from our government to act upon the company that is stealing from consumers???

WE HATE THIS FRIDGE! Samsung should be ashamed! This is the side by side model # rs25h5111sr. It's 2015 & with the tech we have now, there shouldn't be these issues. I have over 5 major complaints about this fridge! 1st the noise! When we open the freezer door & then shut it, it sounds like the haunted mansion over @ Diz! It expands & creaks like the walls in the haunted mansion. It was so comical, I invited neighbors over to witness it! They think it's hysterical, we do not! When we also open the freezer door & shut it, there's a knocking sound like someone with a hammer is banging for about 3 or 4 times! The thing pops & cracks but not just little pops or cracks. It's so loud it awakens us in the middle of the night! Sounds like someone breaking into our home. The motor is also noisy... why? Did Samsung forget to put needed insulation in this fridge or did they just make it cheaply?

After realizing the drawers were cheap slide in & out, we have decided Samsung made everything CHEAPLY! The ice machine sounds like a fire hose when it fills the ice tray. We've adjusted the water pressure & still sounds the same! We were going to return it the 1st wk. We called Samsung & were told that the fridge needs to 'adjust' & the plastic is new... yada, yada, yada. We also didn't return it due to 'it works' it's just SUPER NOISY & getting it in & out of the house is a total fiasco!

Samsung's engineers need to go back to school & learn what fridges In the US are supposed to sound like, which is quiet! The other issues we do not care for are: The drawer placement, along with no wheels on the drawers & the unusual light they decided to put in the back of the fridge. The light isn't a good kind of light. It's eerie which goes along w/ the haunted like noise that comes from it! Don't buy this fridge if you want peace & quiet!

She stated that there had been no other complaints such as this and passed me on to Quality Control who also told me that there was nothing like this on any of their refrigerators.

Today I spoke with the main office of Lowe's and apparently there is nothing that can be done for this except to replace the doors and drawer or pull them off and have someone sand them down and repaint. My concern is this... WHY is there RUST under the white paint??? I do not have any leaks, I do not use any cleaners except for a damp cloth and there has been nothing hit any of the edges to create cracks. I purchased a Samsung 4-door refrigerator because I thought I was stepping up the quality for a refrigerator. The unit worked well for the first 13 months, then the ice maker would suddenly stop producing ice for no reason. I waited a day or two and the ice maker started working again. A few months later, I notice water on the floor of my kitchen. I thought my children spilled something. Then my son notice water dripping into the basement ceiling under the refrigerator. I looked more closely and the refrigerator was dripping water.

My plumber guided me on shutting off the water to the refrigerator to limit the water damage. A technician came out a week later and took many pictures and troubleshoot the problem. Upon removing the drawers I noticed what was causing yet a second problem and that was a sheet of ice had formed underneath the fourth drawer, turning that drawer into a virtual freezer regardless of what temperature setting.

Samsung initially said they would reimburse for the purchase of the refrigerator. I thought that was a relief, for obviously I had a lemon and they knew it. Everything was quiet for four days and when I checked back again the reimbursement had been cancelled. I received NO call, email or anything. Then I insisted if they were to fix the problem they should resolve the freezing of food in the fourth drawer as well as the leaking refrigerator. Then the reimbursement was pushed through again. Then 3 days later, after I received no email. Everything was cancelled, the reimbursement and the repair.

So I am a consumer and I typically have refrigerators to just hang out for years. The Samsung refrigerators have gimmicks that work for a minute and then fail and they are very expensive. I have to say I purchased a total kitchen appliance line from Samsung and washer and dryer and have never been so disappointed in a product. Fridge is exactly as everyone has stated from the first year (now 3 yrs old) it leaked below the veggie bins. I bought this because my 15 year old Kenmore was outdated and I figure not as energy efficient as it should be. Mistake number one. At least it didn't leak. To be fair I haven't contacted Samsung as I have read many other comments and just feel it's a waste of time.

Wish I could go back in time and choose a fridge other than Samsung RS263TDRS. We've owned fridge 4 years and has been a disappointment from day one. Slow water dispenser. Ice dispenser shoots across room. Biggest issue is defroster on fridge side. Several times a year we go through the headache of fridge making loud grinding sound, popping and then inside heating up and spoiling food. Samsung support centre acts like my issue is an isolated problem.

First time I paid for a technician. He reported this to me as common issue, a manufacturing default and inserted a spacer between fan to add more air flow. He acknowledged this was only a bandaid solution and that I should be proactive and when I hear ice starting to build up on fan, to defrost fridge for two days. This has become a burdensome issue now and we defrost our fridge three to four times a year. After doing this our fridge resumes cooling efficiently but then a few months go by and ice and water build up below crisper. I will never buy another Samsung product and discourage other consumers from buying their product. Samsung is robbing consumers and their callous approach to Customer Service is unacceptable.

I Was wondering where that water came from. My fridge doesn't have any water hook up (for an ice maker or a water dispenser). Now, I got another problem. My freezer builds up ice!!! Aside from the time and mess in chipping away the buildup and the numerous expensive service calls that do not seem to correct the problem... Samsung customer service agents hold fast to the 1 year warranty and refuses to admit that this is a serious problem and that as a worldwide company that they should admit their fault and keep customers happy. BUT THEY DON'T AND APPARENTLY COULD CARE LESS. So no more Samsung Refrigerators or Appliances for me. I would like the same solution and have contacted Samsung's Repair Department and spoke to Vladimir in the Executive Customer Relations Department, reference number **. Then noticed discoloration of the doors appearing like a splashing, bubbling effect all over the front. No amount of polishing would take it away. The last service person to come said it's a defect in the workmanship and that when the coating was placed over the stainless, air must have gotten in or the seal wasn't prepared properly and the problem of the unsightly look is coming from in between the coating and the stainless making it impossible to look clear no matter how much you polish the fridge.

I called an approved service technician who got on the phone with Samsung after examining the unit. It was determined that the refrigerator could not be repaired & would have to be replaced. Apparently Samsung used butane as an alternative to freon in my unit & it is not being successful. Okay -- that was 6 weeks ago! I have been through many phone calls, submitted the required paperwork, & no one has cared that I have not had a fridge for 6 wks! I have been unable to get help from the store where I bought the fridge either. Samsung is mailed me a reimbursement check for the cost of the fridge, minus delivery & tax. I had to throw away $300 worth of food.

So because of Samsung's defective refrigerator, I have had to pay for 3 service visits, $300 worth of lost food, & will have to pay tax & delivery fees plus more for a newer model of refrigerator. SERIOUSLY?! It's not my fault & it has cost me about $1,000.00! By the time I get the reimbursement check & buy a new fridge, I will have gone 8 weeks without a fridge! Unfortunately, I also have a Samsung TV, washer & dryer, all of which I have enjoyed, but now sure hope I don't have a problem with! I have NEVER had a company treat me so poorly.

This fridge worked fine for about 2 years then something went haywire. It took Sears five trips to finally send a repair tech who was competent to properly diagnose the problem. The first tech diagnosed the (wrong) problem and charged me $357. That didn't fix it, so a new tech showed up and made a new diagnosis, and ordered another part. It was the wrong part, so another part had to be ordered. In the meantime, I don't have a working refrigerator so bought a 30-year-old $85 beater that does work. Luckily there was room to set it up in the dining area. Sears sent a third tech who said the initial diagnosis was wrong so ordered a new part -- but this tech then said he wouldn't plug the fridge back in because the outlet wasn't grounded. I called an electrician who charged me $75 to say yes it is grounded (which I was pretty sure was the case).

Finally a tech showed up and properly diagnosed the problem, at the cost of $272. The tech said Sears would credit my credit card $85 for the difference between the right and wrong parts. Sears has not billed me for the $272 but they also have not refunded me the $85 for the overcharge. I have called them also asking to be reimbursed for these items: the $85 fridge I was forced to buy due to their technicians' continued incompetence, $75 for the unneeded electrician service call, $100 that I felt obliged to offer the tenants living in the house to take off their rent because this entire process took two months to find a competent Sears service tech. I will never again buy an appliance from Sears and sure as heck won't call them to service this fridge the next time it has a problem (and I'm keeping the $85 beater in the garage just in case).

I will NEVER purchase any Samsung products ever again. I will also let everyone I know to never purchase Samsung products. I purchased a Samsung refrigerator one year and almost a month ago. The refrigerator has completely stopped working because Samsung put a faulty part in the fridge. They will not do anything to help me or fix this problem because the warranty is one year and it has been 22 DAYS past the warranty. Samsung has told me I will have to pay $160 just to look at the refrigerator + parts which they would not disclaim to me an estimate of how much the part could cost. I had a technician (not from Samsung) come out and look at the fridge prior to calling Samsung and they saw that Samsung had put in a cord that was supposed to have 3 prongs but was broken and only had 2 prongs. They informed me that they could replace the part which would be at least $250 dollars.

However that still will not guarantee if the refrigerator will still work because the faulty part might of completely damaged the fridge for good. The technician informed me that I was lucky because the refrigerator could have completely blown up due to the faulty part. I called Samsung after I had learned what the issue was and they would not do anything about it unless I paid for them to fix the fridge and they did not guarantee that even after paying that if the fridge still does not work that they would do anything about it.

They basically told me that I would have to keep paying more money to get it fixed because the warranty was up 22 days ago and it is now no longer their fault. What company puts a BROKEN part into an expensive and large purchase putting a household family in danger and then doesn't own up to it nor replace the part?! This is the worst customer service I have ever received my whole life and I am 55 years old and have owned many homes and many appliances in my lifetime. Samsung RF28HFEDTBC/AA Refrigerator - Samsung refused to post my comments citing it violated comment guidelines. This a dual ice maker refrigerator, one in the upper compartment with external dispensing and one in the lower freezer compartment with a tray. I called Samsung Service with one complaint: the upper ice maker dispenses ground up white ice and snow when "cubed" is selected (However, a second issue was discovered by technician - see below).

Service told me several times that white ice is considered normal because upper dispenser freezes so fast and traps air and that during dispensing occasionally two cubes may be smashed together and broken. I requested warranty service because this was not occasional crushed ice but nearly half was crushed and a lot of snow came with the ice. Service technician repeated the mantra on the white ice and occasional crushing but also applied sealer on the ice maker to reduce air infiltration from refrigerator compartment. It has been more than a week since and nothing has changed. The upper ice maker still dispenses crushed white ice and snow. I can only assume this is normal for Samsung...this has never been the case with other front ice dispensing refrigerators I have owned.

Second issue discovered by technician. The lower drawer was not extending fully making unloading and loading the lower freezer very difficult. Installers did not catch it and I thought it was normal. The technician jerked the drawer to the side and pulled it out very hard and now it opens about twice as far as it did. Much better. He said this was a common problem due to drawer alignment. Aside from the upper ice maker white ice and snow now the refrigerator works fine. I tried to be honest and forthright and gave it an average rating due to what I consider to be a fundamental design shortcoming and Samsung refused to post on their comment site.

WOW - 25 bad reviews in just the past two weeks!! My story is ditto, ditto and ditto. My 2 and 1/2 year old RF261B fridge floods in and under the crisper with such regularity that I now schedule it to be "swabbed" out on the first of every month! In addition the handle fell off after only a year (and it's only myself and my husband in the household so it's not like it's being abused). Fortunately, he is handy and was able to repair it.

The latest problem is that the water dispenser - a feature I love - is now starting to "stick" intermittently and sometimes cannot be depressed by pushing the glass against the dispenser button, but rather I have to use my finger to depress it in order for it to work. We have always taken good care of our belongings. Our old General Electric fridge was still working great after 24 years when we decided to get a more energy efficient, modern-looking unit. What a mistake that has been! And we paid $1,750 for this constant hassle!

We've put up with this until today, when my husband blew his stack after our monthly "dewatering". I contact Samsung Customer Service and she said they had "no record of any problems with this model!" I copied and pasted several reviews from this site and sent them to her. Since it's now out of warranty, she said I could purchase "a Samsung Protection Plus Rescue Repair program, which is a service option for consumers who are in need of repair on their product. It is a combination repair/extended warranty program. The program includes the both the cost of the needed repair, (all parts AND labor) plus a one year extended service plan. But of course, she couldn't tell me the cost! I have to call another number on Monday to get that bad news!

The thing that irked me most is when she said she had the "option" to report this back to their engineers! What?! They're not REQUIRED to report consumer complaints of this nature to R & D!! I also told her that they needed to do a Google search of "Problems with Samsung Refrigerators" and see how many other people are reporting the same issues. Georgia of Albuquerque - I'm with you! I think we should band together and file a class-action lawsuit. What do you other irate consumers think of this idea? Perhaps someone with more legal expertise would offer their opinion as to what they think the chances are of us winning something like this.

Good day, I am writing to you today in regards to an ongoing issue that I have been having with my fridge and the lack of customer service I have been receiving from Samsung. My transaction # **. My fridge was bought in 2012 and I have been having major issues with it since 2014. In 2014 I had to replace the main board because it completely shut down. A few months later, it started making loud noises and leaking from the bottom. As I had just spent $1,100 on the fridge in 2012 and another $425 in 2014 including parts and labor, I was hoping these issues were manageable.

Recently it has not been cooling properly and I have lost a lot of food. I have been in contact with numerous departments within Samsung in the past couple of weeks and I did manage to get someone have a Samsung-approved company come out and diagnose it at no charge. When the company came out, they determined that the fridge needed 6 parts and the total including labor would be $628. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with this issue as Samsung is supposed to be of high quality and should stand behind their products.

I understand that my product is out of the 1 year warranty but let's be honest, I'm looking at having to spend a total of over $1000 in less than 5 years on what is supposed to be a quality product. I am seeking help from Samsung in the cost of fixing my fridge and they all say that there is absolutely nothing they can do for me. I am a loyal Samsung customer with my fridge, washer, TV, Blu-ray and cell phones being Samsung. I am in desperate need of help as soon as possible as I have 2 disabled people that have meds that have to be refrigerated and a 2-year old.

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator from Sears 15 months ago. It was the French Door Model # RF31FMESBSR/AA, thinking it was top of the line since it cost $3,000. It is the worst refrigerator ever. The ice maker stopped working after 1 year. The plastic bins are all cracking from holding 1/2 gallon of milk & a few condiments. Samsung does NOTHING to help since the refrigerator starts falling apart just after 1 year. I've had a GE Profile last 19 years and a Frigidaire last 10 years & still going strong. Samsung charges $160 plus $66 to ship plastic bins that should last more than 15 months. Overpaid to repair the ice maker $200 & now am paying $226 for the bins. The handle on the deli drawer is hanging & they want me to buy a whole new deli drawer. It is the worst customer service, the worst refrigerator, and extremely overpriced.

Consumers should be aware of purchasing Samsung refrigerators as they do not last without extensive repair. Exactly at 2 yrs and 2 mos., freezer issues and ice maker issues developed some of which are still not functioning. Now our repair person has not been able to get a freezer part for weeks as it is out of stock and on back order. This is a $2200 purchase made 12/18/12, that is the worst appliance that I have ever purchased. I am now going to have to spend another $2000 plus to replace this *** in order to have a working appliance. Buyer aware notice from me to perspective purchasers.

There is a class action lawsuit against Samsung. All their refrigerators have a problem with freezing up. It is very dangerous for your kids or the elderly because the fridge will run about 40-50 degrees but will say 38 on the temp. So your food could be going bad and you wouldn't know. I'm surprised that no one has gotten sick and/or died and taken them to court for the culpability. They clearly know that they have a design flaw. If you look up Samsung refrigerator problems, you will find thousands and thousands of reports. It is a worldwide design flaw. I am surprised that they are not providing a fix to customers. They wanted $200 to fix it. They are a bunch of dishonest crooks. I won't buy another Samsung product in my lifetime.

The ice maker in our refrigerator initially leaked. A repair tech changed the seal to the outer door and suggested not using crushed ice. The ice maker then starting building up a lot of frozen water and the ice cubes jammed when they went to drop. A repair tech applied silicone sealant around the exterior of the ice box. The ice maker continued to jam. A repair tech replaced the electrical board that would help the ice maker defrost and not build up ice. The ice maker then quit making ice cubes. A repair tech said the ice box should be changed. This could not be done because no part number could be made. Another repair tech said the ice maker needed replacement, but he could not remove the ice box because of the sealant.

Another repair tech replaced the ice maker by removing one screw and not touching the ice box. The ice maker is making ice but now the ice will not come out of the ice maker. For a $3000 refrigerator this is a terrible ice maker and even worse instructions for repair technicians. Samsung will not stand behind making repairs beyond the first year. The extended warranty company has done everything they can to make it difficult to accomplish repairs.

I purchased all new Samsung kitchen appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and stove) last year around July 4th during a sale at Lowe's. I took delivery at different times as all items were not in stock. A year and 2 weeks later, the ice maker has stopped working. When I originally noticed that no ice was being made, the ice tray (where the ice cubes are made) was froze up. I removed the excess ice and waited. Nothing. I researched on the internet and tried to fix the problem myself. Changed the filter, checked water line and then hit the reset button. The ice maker will make one batch of ice and then no more.

I called Samsung and because the warranty was out by 2 weeks, they wanted $160 service call, plus parts and additional labor, if necessary. I declined. I called Lowe's to see if they would stand by their product and help. Nothing. I understand that the warranty is out, by two weeks, but I would like Lowe's and Samsung would stand behind their products more and support their customers. I would understand if we were talking months or years, but this is two weeks. Actually less, if I consider when I actually took possession of the refrigerator, because it was after the July 4th date and the failure was actually before I reported it to Samsung and Lowe's. To top it off, the price of a new ice maker is only $123, which I have on order now. So the $160 service call, plus parts and labor seems a little excessive.

In addition to the refrigerator ice maker issue, the dishwasher does not clean as well as my 15 year old working Whirlpool that I removed. And 80% of the time has a foul odor in it, the day after washing dishes. The microwave has worked, but has a very annoying design feature. You can not operate the microwave and use the kitchen timer at the same time. Very poor design. If I had to do it all over again, I would have paid a little more and went with Whirlpool products instead of buying the Samsung products. I will not make that mistake again and do not plan on buying any products from them and will favor doing business with Home Depot over Lowe's if I have a choice.

I was so happy to be able to afford to finally be able to buy this refrigerator for my family (model RF323TEDBSR). Mine was manufactured Apr 2012, but we did not buy it until Feb 2013. I used to drool over the commercials of the big, happy family that was loading their shiny refrigerator with lots of groceries and pine for the day where I could actually afford that refrigerator for my family. We have 8 children, 6 who are still home full time, and this was touted as a big refrigerator for big families.

Initially, I was very happy with my purchase. It definitely lives up to all the space. The first grocery trip that I was able to fit everything into our new fridge prompted me to put pictures on social media. I was so tickled with it. Unfortunately, the honeymoon was a short one and my relationship with this refrigerator quickly soured. I had issues with a code that kept alarming that was repaired under warranty. The lower ice maker quit working altogether, but it was also repaired. That is all well and good, but it's harder than you think to find an appliance repairman who works on Samsung products at all, but especially the refrigerator. It's apparently even harder to actually get parts for the poor thing.

As of today, my fridge is a total piece of junk that is a daily reminder of how I was ripped off for over $2500 (and I got a huge discount by being a smart shopper and combining discounts and a coupon). As of today, I am missing 4 of the door bins. All of the bigger ones on the right side where there should be lots of space for condiments, milk and more, they are broken and unusable. I have not been able to obtain any replacements for them at all. Even when narrowing them down on Samsung's website (do you know how many different door bins there are?!), I could not possibly spend the exorbitant prices they are asking... Keep in mind, it's still under extended warranty, but the warranty does not cover such things.

There is no handle on the freezer. The replacement one fell off, too. I usually have to open a fridge door to open the freezer. The bin inside the freezer has cracked and one has been pulled out because it was not staying in place anymore. The pantry door is gone. It was replaced once, but the second cracked in the same manner and it has not been replaced. The pantry drawer itself is also damaged and comes off the track much too easily.

The upper ice maker is completely dead. It stopped making ice awhile ago, though the water still worked. The water used to be fun to try and see if it wanted to work that day. Some days you'd push the dispenser down, the light would come on and nothing would happen for awhile. It eventually stopped dispensing water at all. So now no ice or water up top. The repairman fixed it once, but it's now broken again. And yes, the filter has been replaced with a genuine Samsung filter. When it was fixed, the entire apparatus that holds the filter was replaced. But again, no ice up top and no water. There is a crack on the white plastic on one shelf portion over the crisper on one side and a larger chunk cracked out on the other, to the point the glass shelf edge is partially exposed. So much for humidity control.

More recently, the fridge seems to be running warmer and my produce is dying off at an alarming rate. I am now looking at replacing a 2.5 year old fridge (which is still under an extended warranty!) that I feel totally duped into believing was actually meant for a family. I used to love this thing, now I hate it, and that makes me sad.

How do I start this? First bought Samsung because retailer said it was one of the best made refrigerator. After one year the thermal fuse failed, back panel blew out from frost. No warranty coverage. The tech said they had less than 1% failure rate on their appliances. I had no idea if it was the truth but he had a Samsung shirt on so that means he knows what he is doing, right?

Well $327.00 later I had a working refrigerator on top of the $1400.00 I had already paid for it. The ice maker stopped making entire ice cubes. Only crushed ice seems to come out of it. That was OK just wrote it off as high moisture in South Carolina until the bottom of the refrigerator filled with water. I noticed the seal for the double doors was not completely sealed because of a wrinkle in the top of it. Warming it with a real hot towel I worked the wrinkle out of it. That seemed to help. Overall I don't recommend this manufacturer of refrigerators. Based on their lack of support I won't be buying Samsung anything for a long time if ever. About 2 years later the ice maker quit working and we discovered ice build up under the large deli drawer. We gave up on the ice maker because we knew that was a problem with a lot of refrigerators and started making ice in. We had a plumber come out and put a cutoff in the line to stop the water. He used a piercing type of cut off which did not work so still had water. Last week the freezer quit and we lost all the food. We had a repairman come out (Samsung recommended). He was quite good and only charged $40.00 but the bad news is that there are several computer boards on the back and after some research he found that other repair people had gone through the board changing and the freezer still did not work.

We would have been out that expense and still no freezer. He would have changed out the boards for us but we still would have had the water problem in the fridge. It was 6 years old, and it was his belief that we had a blockage in the refrigerant in the freezer evaporator. The compressor was working fine for the evaporator for the refrigerator. Our last refrigerator was 10 years old, 6 years ago, and it is still going strong in my sister's basement where they use it to freeze their garden produce. I ordered a new refrigerator yesterday, not a Samsung and truly would not recommend Samsung refrigerators to anyone. Like so many reviewers, we had the same problem with the twin cooling system. We bought the refrigerator from Lowe's in October of 2009 on sale. Up until this problem, we were very happy with the refrigerator. Several months ago, the fridge started to make a lot of noise. What the...? Then, I noticed that our milk went bad, before the expiration date. So, my husband used an instant thermometer (therma pen) and our milk was at 58 degrees. Samsung tech support tried to troubleshoot, and blamed our thermometer as the problem! Really? My husband did a lot of internet research, and discovered a video on YouTube on how to fix the problem.

Apparently, there's a problem with the coil in the twin cooling area that heats up any ice build-up (I'm not mechanic/engineer, so I'm explaining as simplified as I can). We emptied the refrigerator and he opened up the twin cooler. There was so much ice build up inside and the motor was frozen solid! No wonder it quit cooling! This is not covered under warranty (ours had expired anyway, though we bought an extended warranty). Using a blow dryer, he patiently thawed out the area and the tube and inserted a copper wire (that the YouTube video said would fix the problem). When he put all the parts back in, the motor started up again! Let's just hope this fix is what the YouTuber swears works. I sure hope so, or we're going to have bought another refrigerator. I'm happy with our Samsung laptops and TV's, but never again would I buy a Samsung refrigerator! I'll try and update if this is a permanent fix, but it's worth a try.

Bought a side by side refrigerator RS25J500DSR 17 days ago. After waiting the 24 hours for the ice to make, it was evident that there was a problem. The refrigerator only serves two people and one of them is gone most of the day. It's bin has only gotten filled more than a quarter of the way one time when we were out of town for 4 days. We only fill our glasses 1/4 way with ice in an effort not to be without ice entirely. Reported problem to Samsung and a tech called back. Had me to do the tests described in the video then he told me the ice maker was working fine and he was closing my file but would call me the next day to see if resetting it had helped. The next day, no call. Refrigerator was not bothered for 4 hrs. and the bin had approximately 30 pieces of ice. So the next day called Samsung again. Was again told they would send out a repairman.

Today, was called by Tech. He stated that he was trained by the engineer and the ice maker in this refrigerator only makes 6 pieces of ice every 90 minutes - 2 hours. A total of 70 pieces of ice in a 24 hr. period. It is not designed to provide very much ice. I can't imagine that anyone would buy a refrigerator and not rely on it for daily ice. He also stated that the bin is not suppose to fill up more than 1/4 way full. Again they have refused to send anyone out because they know their ice maker is practically worthless. I wish I had seen these complaints before I bought it. I did look at the rating for this product and since it had a high rating I thought I would be pleased. However, this is the worst purchase I have made in 60 years. I don't ever plan to buy anything that is Samsung again.

Now for the last two months the Samsung dishwasher is not trying properly and the "delicate" light starts flashing at the end of the cycle. Scared to call Samsung and report it. Will never buy Samsung or deal with hhgregg again.

RF266ABPN - Wrote a complaint on here in August 2013 about our Samsung 2-door fridge which kept pooling water and the back inside kept freezing with frost. We spent so much time always removing items, defrosting, scooping out water, etc. etc.

UPDATE!! Finally hubby was able to fix problem himself. We have had no problems for 2+ years. He turned off energy saver mode and put paper clips in the drain tubes located at the bottom back of fridge to keep them open. They are used as spacers so probably any similar item would work. We are still not sure if the energy saver turnoff or paper clips did the trick but... after countless repairman and useless Samsung, just wanted to report what worked for us! No problems for 2+ years! I weirdly got a reminder about this review so came here and saw still horrific reviews... Hope this helps at least one person!

Updated on 08/11/2018: We officially gave up on this refrigerator and brand in 2016. Our original problem (freezing/icing over) came back in full force, freezing, motoring, water pooling, even after my husband was able to temporarily fix it. Bottomline: We took it to the dump, This model is severely flawed.

I bought Samsung refrigerator 30.39 cu ft. 4 Doors. I have to call service twice to fix the ice maker in less than a year. It broke in less than six months after I bought it and they came to replace a new ice maker. Five months later it broke again and I have to pay for the part and service because they only guarantee for 90 days. I definitely would not recommend Samsung refrigerator to anyone.

Hint, I have a Weber grill I paid 700 for, had it for 2 year and it quit working. Called Weber to order parts and guess what, they sent me all the parts for free just so they wouldn't lose a customer. Samsung when your crap breaks, I'll find another brand.

I bought a French door refrigerator in Nov of 2013. In October of 2014 I notice a large amount of water accumulating under the vegetable drawers. I sopped it and didn't think too much about it. After 3 more months, not only was it under the drawers but in them. I called Samsung and they told me after a year, it had to be under an extended warranty. I have a home warranty which I called in April, was told the fan burned out. It took 9 weeks for the part to come in and another 3.5 to get the repairman back out. It is fixed BUT I was told the water problem will come back as Samsung has a running problem with this happening. I will NEVER buy another Samsung appliance and I'm telling anyone that will listen what JUNK they are selling to us.

We purchased our Samsung rs261mds refrigerator a few years ago. Since then the cooling fan has gone out several times, and I have to defrost the freezer to keep it working. The 3rd time samsung sent someone out, I was not told what was wrong, then I was told that samsung was not paying for the repair after it was completed (They had extended my warranty once because of the fan going out a 2nd time) and that if I did not pay my bill I would be blackballed and no one would ever fix my fridge. Then if that wasn't enough, the repairman came to my house the next day and told my son he left steamer at my house. When my son went to look the repairman walked in and began going through my cabinets. At that point my son made him leave.

I called samsung and spoke to someone in their executive resolutions department who apologized. Said they would be paying for the repair and that a supervisor from the repair place would call to make an appointment to come out to "thoroughly" my fridge. When my fridge stopped working 1 month later, I was told they would send someone out at my expense! Now my fridge has stopped working. I lost all my food. I am disabled and not working and my husband lost his job 4 months ago. Thanks to samsung and their crappy products and service, we will be keeping things cold in coolers until we can buy ANY brand of refrigerator other than samsung!

Same problem happened a month ago, the technician came and broke the ice and change the parts. It is OK for one week and I called again and he said "I will send request to replace it." Then I called they said "we will send another technician" and he didn't know how to fix it and I am still waiting without fridge and I have to eat every day outside. I have a Samsung Side By Side Refrigerator that broke but was under warranty for the sealed system. It broke in 4 years but this Samsung warranty is useless. They will not stand by and honor this warranty. They sent a repairman to my house who misdiagnosed the problem and replaced a part that didn't need replacing which I had to pay for out of pocket. He then told me since the fridge is not working that there is a problem with the sealed system which is under warranty and I won't have to pay anything for parts or labor. He then said that his company is not certified to repair sealed systems so I'll have to find a sealed system company.

I notified Samsung and they sent the same repairman to my house which shows you how much of a joke this company is. I called Samsung again to tell them that their technician is not qualified for sealed systems. They then sent a different company to my house. The repairman from the second company told me that they are not qualified to do sealed system work. Finally they send a third guy to my house from a company that does fix sealed systems but he claims that my warranty does not cover labor only parts. It is clear from my paperwork and owner's manual that the warranty covers both parts and labor for 5 years on the sealed system so I'm not sure how he can claim that.

I called Samsung and they tell me they will create a new work order which will cover parts and labor. However, when it comes time for my appointment they of course schedule it with the original company who claims not to be qualified for sealed system repairs. This is by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced with any product or company in my life. Avoid this company if you care at all about the value of customer service. I've given up on this repair and I'm buying a new GE Fridge. I'm tired of the countless hours on the phone with Samsung and the multiple visits by repairmen that claim not to be certified.

We bought our refrigerator about 2 years ago from Lowe's. We too were told they were good refrigerators. Within 6 months, the seal around the freezer came loose and the glass on the meat door cracked. We had to pay for the meat door but the seal was under warranty. Then we kept getting water under the meat tray and sometimes it would be a thick sheet of ice. We thought we were opening the door too much or something. Then one day it started making this loud grumbling sound, like it was going to rattle right out the door. Afraid it would get ruined we turned it off and called a repairman. He had just recently had the same problem with another customer so knew right away what the problem was.

The coils, fan, and behind the whole back cover was all ice. The drain was also frozen so the water was running into the bottom of the meat drawer. He had to blow dry it to get the back cover off, then blow dry the drain and the coils. That was a month ago. Today we had to call him back. He again had to thaw out the back panel and the upper right fan had over an inch of ice around it. He said he thought the fan and coils were too far away from the heating element to efficiently thaw the ice and it just builds up. Having read these concerns of others regarding the same problems, I think Samsung has the responsibility to figure out a way to resolve this problem. We have all paid too much money on what we thought would be a quality product to only pay out more for repairmen who tells me this will be a recurring problem.

Drives me crazy, repaired once at less than 2 years old, considering the price we paid I'm disgusted. The doors have to be forced shut, as they don't close automatically. Butter holder doesn't hold a pound of butter! Shelves barely adjust and certainly not efficient. Water seems to pool in vegetable bins. To make matters worse the fridge and in particular the freezer is always covered in weird patterns as if the moisture is escaping somehow to just under the stainless steel. Will never ever purchase a Samsung anything again and I think I'll stick to low end because it seems like everything breaks down after 2 years regardless of the price.

I have a less than 2 yr. old Samsung 4-door fridge. Two months after I got it the ice maker started dripping. It took 7 service calls to finally fix it by replacing the fan on the motor. Now it is only cooling to 50 degrees in the fridge part. Freezer is ok. I called Home Depot warranty dept. and they called a TV repair shop (???) to come look at it. The shop told me they wanted to order parts before looking at it. Ten days later they tell me the parts aren't all in and they will try to make it out on Mon (this is Fri) if the parts come in. This is so unacceptable! I would think a fridge that cost over $3000 should not be breaking down in the first place. Samsung says since I didn't buy their warranty, tough luck. After reading all of the reviews, I have a really bad feeling about this whole mess. Whatever happened to good service???

UPDATED ON 09/24/2015: In my review back in July I reported that my Samsung fridge was not cooling and that I was having difficulty getting someone to repair it. Since then, the TV repair place called and said the compressor was out and they couldn't fix it because it takes R600 refrigerant and they didn't deal with it. Since it was supposedly the compressor, it was covered by Samsung, who sent yet another guy out to look at it; he said it was not the compressor but the computer board, so Samsung wouldn't cover it. After many back and forth calls to Home Depot, they finally sent me a check for the full price of my fridge, plus $300 for lost food. They told me to dispose of the fridge however I wanted to.

Long story short, my brother-in-law from Florida, who has done appliance repair for 40 years, came up. Within an hour, he had recharged the compressor with R134 refrigerant and told me it had a very minute leak that wouldn't give me problems for a very long time. That was Aug. 1. The fridge has ran perfectly ever since. Upon returning to FL, he found out that Samsung had, in fact, recalled this fridge on July 1. So, I don't know how long this fix will last, but so far, so good. Anyone else in this situation should press Samsung for a refund. Apparently there is a problem with using R600 in the States, which they should have known before they started selling them here. Guess they figured they could just sell you a new one when this one died. Go figure!

After only four years, the evaporator went out with this horrendous noise. Had tough time finding a Samsung repairman in my area. When I called their support line I was told to trouble shoot. In no way was this a trouble shooting matter. I was finally put in touch with a repairman who would actually work on the thing. The evaporator was changed out. The next week, the fan in the new evaporator went out. A whole new evaporator was ordered and put in. This took approximately three weeks.

After another two weeks, the refrigerator was not cooling. The repairman came back and said that the unit was working, but the water line froze up. It was defrosted and the unit worked for about 2 weeks and the thing started heating up again. The temperature read 57 degrees. So, I was out a refrigerator for a total of 2 months, not counting the amount of food lost. I am joining a class action suit and getting rid of this piece of crap. Will NEVER recommend anything Samsung to anyone.

Bought a Samsung rs277 side by side from Lowe's approx 5 years ago. Was a scratch and dent floor model at Lowe's and was a very good discount. Ice maker problems started within first year. It makes ice but won't dump it into tray unless you press button on ice maker. So far haven't had much luck finding out online what I can do to fix this. For awhile it would make ice then quit until you pushed button then would make ice again for a few days then have to press button again.

After 4 years it now will only dump ice if you press button. At almost 5 yrs old fan inside fridge got loud. Found some info for different model Samsung online about this problem being from ice build up. Although the info I found online was for a similar type side by side Samsung my model rs277 did not come apart the same way. Keep in mind these are supposed to be frost free units. You need to take all the shelves and drawers out and loosen back panel.

Used hair dryer to defrost a bunch of ice on cooling coil. The ice had built up to the point where it was interfering with fan and blocking drain hole. So besides the noise there was water occasionally leaking out the front. Defrosting took care of noise and water leak but it will be back since the thing should not have needed to be defrosted. There is some type of sensor that tells the brain when to defrost and a heating element to defrost. Not sure which is bad. If someone knows how to test the sensor or how to fix the ice maker so it will dump ice please email me at **.

I had an Amana side by side for well over ten years. I ordered it without an ice maker so that never broke. Some of the plastic parts inside the fridge did not hold up so well and the door gaskets were coming apart but in over ten years I never had to tear it apart to fix something. Until I got the Samsung I was not so happy with the Amana because of the cheesy plastic parts. The Samsung has made me wish I had the Amana back. It was still working when I got rid of it and was over 10. Not happy with samsung.

Samsung French Door Refrigerator RF263BEAESR/AA - Due to an older house I needed to get a smaller refrigerator. It was hard to find due to all the constraints, size, height, and how far the doors could open. I was excited to find the Samsung French Door Refrigerator, because it fit with all the space constraints my home required. It was a new model so there wasn't any reviews available. Unlike my previous Samsung French Door, a larger version, that I had 7 years ago, this one makes cloudy ice. I just found out from a Samsung repair tech that this model will not make clear ice due to the way it makes ice. Also, because of some restrictions lifted on companies making refrigerators most newer models make loud noises, according to the research I found on the internet.

My model sounds like someone in there is trying to get out by throwing a large rock around. It happens every 6 to 8 hours. It can wake me up from a sound sleep. I thought it was the ice maker, but I have turned it off and it still makes it. Samsung basically has made all kinds of excuses, but they haven't done anything about it. Other Pros: I've only had it since Nov 2014, going on 8 months. It so far, keeps my food cold and my freezer seems to be working fine. It has plenty of space for me. Had I known about the cloudy ice issue I may have looked into buying another brand.
