We have model #RF263BEAESR. Major problems for such a costly fridge. Water pours out SLOW, ice would stop producing, ice would come out in pieces or cubes, ice shoots out on floor, ice maker freezes up... Now water valve needs replacement.

Purchased new for our new home we were moving into and although the outside looks nice the inner operations are sub par to say the least. It is only my husband and I and we have had this refrigerator that we paid $1900.00 that had good reviews at the time and less than 19 months we are hearing a loud hum. Checking into it now others are experiencing the same effect causing major repairs. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO PURCHASE! I FEEL WE WERE HUSTLED BY great REVIEWS THAT WERE made by employees. Not happy!!

On May 7, 2015 our Samsung refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling, and all our food was spoiled. The unit was under warranty so I contacted Samsung but they refused to honor their warranty. It took twenty days of emailing product support, service request, phone calls and live chats between Samsung and I, for them to finally send someone to look at the unit. It took another seven days for a repair man to show up with a replacement part to fix it. We went almost a month without a fridge.
The working fridge only lasted a few days before it failed to cool again and I lost what I had stored in my fridge, again. A technician was able to mend the problem. But just a few days later it gave out again. Every time this unit failed I lost most of the food in the fridge. The Samsung authorized repairman doesn't even want to deal with my fridge and tells us to deal with Samsung. Samsung just sends us around in circles between their support pages. I have most of the emails and phone calls documented and saved.

Samsung Fridge Model#RS261MIMD8P - I've had this refrigerator for 3 years and have had problems with the freezer for over 2 years. You have to keep defrosting the freezer to keep frost out and the freezer gets so cold it forms ICE in the bottom. Don't buy Samsung products. They don't care about the consumer, take your money someplace else. I've had the repair man out 3 times since I purchased this product.

Don't get me started. Bought our fridge about three years and nothing but problems. Just after warranty out the front panel, control panel quit working. Then the ice maker then the cooling fan and now again not cooling. Have almost spent as much as we did for the fridge. Should have stuck with good old GE. Very, very disappointed.

Freezer compartment leaking water under slide out drawer. Unit approx 1 yr old. Bought extended warranty through Lowe's, time of purchase. (Good thing.) Repair people came, said it needed new back panels. Factory installed ones too flimsy. They put in new panels and told me had too much food in freezer. REALLY? So it is now leaking again. Wish I could get rid of this unit!! My older Frigidaire worked MUCH better! Please beware.

Bought Samsung 28.5 cu. ft. French Door Fridge (spent $2500) in Aug, 2010 from Sears. After 4 1/2 years, it broke (no longer cool in fridge and cold in freezer). Asked Sear's repairman to come (inspection costs $85) and said the compressor has to be replaced. Control board may also need to be replaced which costs another few hundreds. Samsung only covers the compressor parts but not labor. Estimated costs for labor is close to $500. It is totally rip-off and the worst experience for buying appliances. Never buy Samsung again for their unreliable products. I have a 26 years Admiral fridge in the garage which still works fine (except bit dripping water under and bit rust on some outside metal hinge).

We bought our Samsung refrigerator/freezer (model RF217ACRS) approximately 3 years ago. Worked just fine until shortly after purchase, one day noticed the bottom drawer freezer wouldn't close. Upon inspection noticed ice about a half inch thick in bottom under drawers. Chipped it out with an ice pick. Huge pieces of ice! Drawer closed fine once ice removed. Thought it was our fault, since maybe we hadn't shut door properly so didn't worry. This has now kept happening and I chip ice out of the bottom about once a week.
Same for vegetable/fruit drawers in fridge. They fill with water (about 1/2 inch) and food was getting soaked/frozen. I ended up buying mats to elevate food in both drawers so they wouldn't get wet! Every week I take out drawers and pour water out. Also, ice/water build up underneath these two drawers too, that I chip/dry out once a week. Usually takes 2 to 3 dish towels to soak up excess water, then I chip away at ice!!! It is a huge pain, but after reading the other reviews here don't feel a service call will do any good. Guess we are stuck with a loser of a fridge/freezer for a few years and doing extra to keep it running and water/ice free. Will never buy Samsung again.
Side note: We did not buy the ice maker, so that is not an issue or contributing factor to our problems.

I purchased a Samsung about 2 years ago. The first year I have several issues with this Refrigerator, but was able to get help on Samsung's helpline. As of today my "Samsung-RS265TDP" started acting up so again I contacted support, I was having problems with my Refrigerator side not cooling down. Error code, # 5-E & 22-E. We spent several hours trying to reset the system as they guided me through the manual. Next day tried to get more help on these issues, but all I ended up with was about 5 long hours of being shuffled around the world while speaking to people who could hardly understand.
I finally got to a representative in SC, who thought he could resolve my problems. But again I was transferred to someone else who had no clue, only that they wanted to sell me a $387.00 one time warranty contract. After doing a little research on this machine, I have found several Class action lawsuits are going on. I contacted a local company and did get my problem resolve for a little less money. The Tech I had advised me as to Samsung has sent out bulletins on this and similar Machines.
It is just so sad when you spend almost $1800 on a item and find out 2 years later that Samsung was and is aware of these conditions and still manufacturing these refrigerators. It is kinda funny when you purchase an item at first, how salespeople are very helpful. But when you have some problems they are no place to be found. Personally I thought Samsung was a quality product, but after this ordeal I would not or advise anyone to purchase any of Samsung's Refrigerators. Anyone who has had same issues should do some research online, maybe the big "Samsung " would try to help people out with all these knowingly faulty problems.

Samsung French Door Refrigerator Model RF4287HARS Stainless - Whatever you do, purchase the extended warranty. I did and am happy about spending the extra 90.00 for a 3 year warranty. I feel electricity and hear a buzzing when I touch the handle on the side where the ice maker is on. Service Repair is coming out to look at it for free. I've tried looking online for any recalls or class action cases, and for some reason I'm not having much luck. It was purchased at Home Depot, but that may not make a difference. It hurts at first to spend an extra 90.00 for a 3 year warranty but think after spending 2,000 for the darn thing! I would advise a warranty for at least 5 years. I believe it will be a good investment.

I purchased my RF24FSEDBSR Refrigerator just about 11 months ago. Samsung came highly recommended by Pacific Sales by different associates at different stores. Ice Maker works and doesn't work. Painfully slow with barely any cubes coming out. Serviced once already and was told this is the way it is. Hard to imagine! Here we go again, now it barely makes any cubes at all. When we were looking to purchase we mentioned that the Ice Maker was very important to us. We were told not to worry that this one is good and that they are all pretty much the same.
Now, after all the reviews they are all pretty much the same, Awful! Why do we have to buy a extended warranty on a product that is known to be sub par? Why isn't Samsung stepping up and taking care of these known issues? They can't say that they haven't heard about any of these issues because it can all be found in black and white and through their CS dept. I guess we're the lucky ones that we only had service out twice with the same issue under 1 year!!!

Bought 2 of these Samsung RF263BEAESR refrigerators for my sons. A few months later we realized they were both running practically all the time. On investigation we found that when the right door is closed last, it blows the left door open about 1/4 inch which exposes the interior of the refrigerator to outside air, rendering the insulation ineffective. However, it's not enough to set off the door alarm so you won't know it. Samsung's warranty servicer for my area says it's normal for this model and Samsung will not warranty this problem. My advice: stay away from this refrigerator unless you love to pay high electric bills. I wasted $3500 on these. I know I will never buy another Samsung product.

The first thing to go was the defrosting fan made from plastic too small to handle the big refrig French doors, that cost me $254.00. The next was the ice maker, another piece of plastic broke, another $254 to get that fixed. Now the refrig is building up ice again which means I will be defrosting my refrig with my hair dryer. I will not purchase a product made by Samsung again. One of the components went in the microwave, I only use it for defrosting and heating water, another wonderful product by Samsung. I understand from the repairman that many parts are being used in many refrigerators. I also own a stove made by Samsung. I'm waiting for it to break. When that goes, I'll be buying a product American made.

Have had my $3000 Samsung Refrig for just over 5 years. Similar results as everyone else here... the fridge began acting up approx. 6 mos. ago... since then have had 6 service calls to fix. Seems after replacing the ENTIRE back inside panel for $200, fridge is working, but now freezer is not. Cannot even begin to explain how FRUSTRATING AND EXACERBATING this experience has been. Made numerous calls and emails to Samsung, even got bounced up to their VIP Customer Service (for those of us who have had POOR service issues) and they do NOTHING!!!
Since is out of warranty, we're on our own! I own many Samsung products including washer/dryer, cell phones, TVs, and now will begin buying other brands as I get rid of every Samsung product in my home. There are OBVIOUSLY design defects/flaws in their refrigerator designs (as the serviceman told me also!) and they know it. They keep coming out with these 'fixes' for things... of course, which are NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. So we have to continue to pay for these. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED WITH SAMSUNG IN GENERAL. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL GET WHAT IS COMING TO THEM. I DON'T EVEN WISH TO GIVE THEM ONE STAR... THEY'RE NOT WORTH IT!!

We've had a Samsung French Door fridge RF323TEDBSR/AA for almost 3 years (still relatively new). And on replacing the water filter, the filter port began to drip leak with or without the filter. Because it was out of the 1 year warranty, we had to pay $158 parts and $130 labor to replace the entire filter port. The repair guy said that it was because we used an aftermarket (HomeDepot) filter. But comparing the replacement and original, the parts were identical. I think this is just poor quality construction in the water filter port. I would definitely think twice before purchasing another Samsung fridge.

Bought a side by side counter depth Samsung fridge in May 2014. In June 2015, the fridge and freezer stopped cooling. After THREE weeks of trying to get someone to come out, Samsung referred us to a 3rd place and they finally came. However, we had to get a copy of the original purchase receipt FIRST. Once the guy came out, looked at the fridge, he said it was a coolant leak and the fan was installed backwards. Which really meant the whole thing was burned up. He told us a service tech would be out to fix it in a week. 2 weeks later, we find out that company doesn't fix that problem. So it's back to Samsung! We still don't have a fridge and no scheduled spot for it to be fixed. So frustrating. Samsung is junk and they have horrible service. Just because it has a 10 year warranty doesn't mean jack!

A repairman was sent out 5 days later by Lowe's and he says "Its the motherboard and it would have to be ordered". 2 weeks later we are still without a refrigerator. Numerous calls back and forth between Samsung and Lowe's customer support where I was told by ** at Samsung that she could send a repairman out but this would be at my expense. She also tells me my one year manufacturer's warranty was non existent because the date that the refrigerator was made is the date the warranty starts. So my 5 month old fridge was out of warranty.
Again 2 weeks without a refrigerator and numerous calls later Lowe's comes through for me and exchanges my dead Samsung for another Samsung. This one had a much shorter life expectancy and expired 51 days after delivery. Lowe's again came through for me with another exchange... a Whirlpool. I have sent a letter to Samsung and described in great detail the problems that I encountered with the first refrigerator and have yet to hear from them. I have a Samsung Model RFG297HDPN French door refrigerator. Six weeks ago the ice maker stopped working. I removed the ice maker and brought it to a repair shop. They checked the ice maker and it was working properly. I contacted Samsung and they gave me the name of an authorized Samsung repair center. The service man came out, checked the ice maker and said it was fine. He then checked the water valve going to the ice maker and said it was bad. He tried ordering just the valve, but Samsung stopped selling just the valve due to water leaking problems occurring by just changing the valve. He had to order an entire valve assembly. The service man stated Samsung had upgraded the valve assembly four times in the past 3 to 4 years, due to problems.
The new valve assembly arrived yesterday after being delayed for over 4 weeks. Eighteen hours after the new valve assembly was installed the ice maker has not produced one cube of ice. Contacted the service man again this morning and he is coming out on Monday and will try installing a new ice maker. Like so many other articles I read, Samsung does not stand by their products. There are page, after page, after page of complaints regarding Samsung refrigerators. A $3,000.00 refrigerator and the company has the worse service in the industry. Finally, after about 3 months of nonsense and not getting all the repairs done in a timely fashion, I was so fed up that I just walked in to Best Buy and demanded they give me another refrigerator. Of course I got the story that it has nothing to do with them and I would have to call Samsung or their Geek Squad department at their toll free number. I demanded to speak with the store manager or someone in corporate.
I told them I have had several different men in my house for the past 5-6 months because the 3rd party company they are using for repairs doesn't know what they are doing and keep sending different people which all say it's something else every time. I finally got a higher up manager that agreed that this was ridiculous and gave me whole new refrigerator. It wasn't even 6 months before we had to have a service call on that one. After dealing with the terrible customer service and finally got the right repairman in, the repairman couldn't exactly tell us what was wrong with it. He said "I think there is a leak so I'll repair that, but it could break down again today, tomorrow, next week, next month." That did not leave us with much comfort.
So, here we are a few weeks later, and the fridge stopped cooling, AGAIN. Yet again, we are wasting our time explaining the situation to Samsung, then to have another service guy come out again which is scheduled a week from now because they're all booked probably because they are trying to fix other lemons from Samsung. I don't know what's going to happen with this fridge, but my advice for those looking to buy a fridge or any appliances is DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG! You'll waste your precious time and money. Not worth it.

Please research carefully Samsung's refrigerator before you buy. The french model that we got has ice under the drawer and behind the back panel (a year after we bought the fridge). Samsung said it is not a common problem but research the internet and found many Samsung fridge has the same issues. Basically you need to open the back panel and add some sort of heating wire to make sure the little drain hole behind the back panel doesn't clog. We choose to unplug our fridge every 2 weeks and the hassle to remove all our food to our small fridge and freezer until we have money to replace this nice looking and useless fridge. I won't buy Samsung since they won't stand behind the product with design fault.

It took not much more than a year and a half before I started having issues with leaking and frost build up as described by many other Samsung Refrigerator owners. Samsung support is a joke - belligerent agent who refuse to identify themselves with a company ID#. Refuse you to speak with management or any other company officials. These issues we are having are not typical repairs. They are design flaws and Samsung should take responsibility for them.
I have a refrigerator. I paid nearly 2000 dollars for and a year and a half later is virtually useless to me unless I spend countless dollars keeping it running. My shock I found that the plastic grid is lined with 'Thermocol', obviously it cannot be cleaned properly because Thermocol is a porous material and particles got embedded in the same. My grievance is - why make a grid in the base of freezer compartment which cannot be cleaned by the user? Secondly, why use Thermocol embedded in the grid so it impossible to clean and subsequently it will develop fungus. The design is absolutely defective. In the door of the fridge, there are only two and a quarter racks, why like normal fridges 3 or 4 racks have not been provided?

We purchased a 3 door, 26 CU.Ft. French door Samsung refrigerator with an indoor water dispenser in November of 2012. Approximately a year and a half after the purchase, our refrigerator started making strange noises and there was water spilling out. We contacted Samsung and later had a technician from Best Buy come out and diagnose the refrigerator. Luckily he was able to repair it - he explained that the refrigerator had to be defrosted as the coils had frozen over.
Since then, every five to six months we have had to defrost our refrigerator to keep it working. Ice builds up and the cooling element fails. We now keep a close eye on the fridge. The first time it froze over we lost food. Since then we have moved quick to defrost it before it appears to be running warm. But we do worry about the regular cooling in light of this problem. If I had known about the short life of this refrigerator and the inability of it to perform its only job of cooling food, I'd have definitely switched to another brand before the purchase of this $1,500 piece of pretty - looking junk. Samsung has been made aware of this design flaw for years, but due to selfishness and greed have refused to address the issue, fix / redesign the problem coils, or even recall their junk refrigerators.
They have done a huge disservice to their consumers by allowing these pieces of junk to remain on the market without fixing the issues. I feel they should be made to recall the problem appliances. We lost over $300 in food and even the baby's formula. There's no excuse to sell high priced junk to consumers without standing behind your products. Bad business practices. OMG, Samsung refrigerators are totally worthless. We have had so many problems and service calls with our new Samsung fridge. Talk about, sounds like an airplane? Yes, it has something to do with the air circulation fan behind the thermostatically controlled shelf. The noise starts as a humming and moves on to a machine gun, hard click about once every half second. It started when the machine was new and happened 3 more times. The 1st and 2nd time we had it repaired. Today we are hauling away this nearly new machine.
We loved this machine when we were shopping for a new fridge. We got this one because it had a dual compressor and a special thermostatically controlled drawer. Love and joy ended real fast because those are things that broke first. (We are 2 old people and we hardly go into the refrigerator -- so you can't blame any problems on kids and abusive overuse.) We hear our problem this week is a broken diverter -- will only be a mere $750 to fix. Right now our shiny, stainless unit is sitting on the sidewalk. Our fabulous new fridge from Home Depot is a top of the line LG for several hundred $ less than $2000 -- LG getting about 5 stars from reviews.
Now that I'm looking at general reviews about Samsung, everything they make seems to be horrible. How could that be?! We used to buy a ton of Samsung stuff -- not anymore. There are so many little, bad issues with this fridge and I see nearly 1500 complaints (a lot of them from 2015!). All I can say is -- get an LG from Costco or Home Depot -- they seemed to have the best price, haul away fee, etc.

Well, 2 weeks ago, the refrigerator quit working and all of our food went bad. At first, I wasn't concerned, because it is still within the warranty period. I called Conn’s and they started the repair order. The problem came when Samsung couldn't find a local service provider to come out and repair it. Last week, they told me that they would allow us to exchange it for a new unit if they didn't find someone by Monday. Monday, they said they were still processing the claim.
It has now been two weeks and Samsung says that it will take up to 7 more business days for them to decide what to do. In the meantime, we have lost a couple of hundred dollars worth of food and haven't had a working refrigerator in weeks. I understand that things happen, but when you pay to purchase a fairly expensive appliance new from what is supposed to be a reputable brand, you expect that issues will be taken care of in a more timely manner. But then I noticed a loud noise and realized it was the ice maker. I had heard reviews on that so it wasn't a complete surprise. Then I noticed that the fridge was noisy. Instead of a nice quiet kitchen there is a constant noise coming from the fridge. When the compressor or the fan isn't running it’s quiet and peaceful. The only problem is the compressor or fan runs 24/7.
It might shut off and be quiet for less than 5 minutes and then it runs loudly again. The noise volume wise isn't that loud but it’s very noticeable especially when I want to just sit at the table and have a cup of coffee. When we are sitting in the family room we can also hear it running. The guy who came out from Fry's did acknowledge that it shouldn't run constantly and that it was a little louder than normal. When the repair tech tried to remove the panel he cracked the case cover. Said he had never seen a machine frozen so hard. Super.
I was told that Samsung had installed a faulty drain system into the machine. Now because of that faulty design the condensation builds up the as the air flow becomes limited it begins to ice up. This is what is causing the Fridge to sound more like a helicopter than in fact a FRIDGE. The fan is slowing down as it is impacted by the ice. Then it started this loud grinding sound from the refrigerator section and it acted like it finally died. I called a repairman and he looked inside and said it was the fan but he couldn't work on it because the fan was frozen solid. He told me to leave it open for a few days while he ordered the part. I lost all of my groceries I had just bought. The repairman never seemed to get the part and after a month of no refrigerator, I plugged it back it and it worked perfectly fine for awhile. So this has been going on every few months until yesterday. The refrigerator won't cool now -- it's at 66 -- and the freezer is working perfect. I have had it with this refrigerator!

It's all over my curtains, furniture, dishes, appliances etc. Lowe's refuse to pay for my damages. My family and I've been inhaling this smut for almost 2 months. I've decided to get an attorney involved. This is unfair!

When your fridge isn't leveled properly from day one, you will experience issues of water build up in the back and it will eventually freeze and the fan will hit the ice making the loud clanking noise. Samsung refrigerators as with all refrigerators have condensation much like your car or window AC unit. That condensation needs to go somewhere to evaporate. The fridge needs to be leveled to where there is a 2 degree lean back for the condensation water to drain down and evaporate. The way to tell if your unit is at this level is to look at the wheels in the front of your unit. If the wheels in front are touching the floor, your unit is not leveled properly. The legs in front need to be adjusted so that the wheels are no longer touching the floor. If your fridge is leveled properly, the condensation will not build up in the back and freeze, which by the way would require service.
Now about the warranty -- Many, if not all, appliances only come with a standard one year limited parts & labor warranty. If you're going to pay $2000 for an appliance, then why not purchase an extended warranty? You'd be a fool not to! With just the first service call it could pay for itself. Believe me I know. We have a front loader washer and dryer that we bought at Sears and had purchased a 5 year extended warranty for an additional $150 for each unit. Three years later we needed service and the cost of that service would have been over $350 if we didn't have that extended warranty. We've had service out 3 times in the last year and we never had to pay and for one of them the cost would have been $638! By the way, watch out for the wires from bras, our "pricey" repair was because a wire from a bra got caught in our water pump and damaged it, so it was replaced.
One more thing, companies have troubleshooting guides online as well as manuals that can help you if something is out of the norm or for you to learn how to use your unit, or you could call their 1-800 phone number. Regular maintenance of your appliances is crucial as with your cars. I hope this helps! Have a great day!!

I'm as upset about this issue as I've ever been about dealing with a manufacturer. I will never purchase a Samsung brand device or appliance. The unit is a RF266AWEP. It stopped cooling 7 days ago and my wife and I have been taken on a journey of phone calls and multiple transfers to Samsung "executive support" staff all resulting in a cowardly "This service ticket has been cancelled" email that came through last night.
We paid for an Samsung authorized repair technician to troubleshooting the unit. I was hoping the issue would be something simple and they could fix it. The service tech stated that the issue was with the compressor and would cost around $800-1200 in labor to repair. But, great! That part (and labor to repair) is still under warranty so we call up Samsung and spend a total of 12 hours over the course of 3 days on various phone calls, speaking to support reps.
There are 3 authorized Samsung service centers in our area. The one that came out, refuses to perform the repair work because they are "overbooked." The second refuses to come out because another repair provider has already looked at the unit. The third does not have someone that can perform closed system compressor work. So in the end, no one will fix our Refrigerator and Samsung just closed the ticket and left me a voicemail stating the ticket is closed. The end. This whole process feels extremely shady. I think they are trying to force us to just give up and go buy a new fridge. Don't buy Samsung products. If you have, good luck with warranty repairs.

My Samsung French Door Refrigerator, model # RF32FMQDBSR/AA quit cooling after 12.5 months of use. It took two months and two visits from the technician to determine that the problem was with the sealed refrigeration system. The first trip the technician replace a circuit board and left immediately. This did not fix the problem. Communication with the Samsung provided service technician was very poor. At first the technician has excuses for not coming back then he just did not respond to calls. I called Samsung and requested another service company. They referred me back to the same guy. After each call I was would be called within 24 to 48 hours. Never happened. He did eventually come back (it has now been two months) and changed the temperature sensor. This did not fix the problem. He said the problem was in the sealed refrigeration system and could not be repaired. So I Called Samsung to ask how this would be handled.
The sealed refrigeration system has a five year warranty. First, I was told that they would exchange the unit and would be contacted within 24 to 48 hours. Nothing! So I called back and they said they wanted a second opinion from a second technician and would be contacted within 24 to 48 hours. Again no response. So I called again and They had referred me back to the same company as before. When I told them that this is the same company as before they said they would look for another company and would be contacted within 24 to 48 hours. Again I had to call them to get a status. They said that they did not have a second company in the area to get the second opinion; therefore, they could not exchange the unit, and that I would be getting a refund instead. Every time I call it just gets worse.
They say I will only get a partial refund. So I asked if the unit has a five year warranty on the sealed system how come I cannot get an exchange or get it repaired. Samsung customer executive care said the warranty is not valid because there is no service available in my area to fix the sealed system. You think they would replace it. Nope! It has now been over three months and I am waiting on the emails with the instructions on how I am to proceed.

My freezer stopped freezing & I called a repair man to fix it (Samsung is a hard company for repair people to deal with and there are very limited people that work on them). Upon looking at it he told me that it was leaking Freon (which should never happen on this unit because it's sealed). He charged me $90 and suggested that I call Samsung and explain to them to see if they would help me because it would be a lengthy repair and it could cost $400 and to top it off there may be no way to located the leak if it's too small to patch.
So, I called Samsung and after several calls & several "supervisors" I got them to set up an appointment with A&E Factory repairs - to which they didn't show up for that appointment. Samsung called them again & set an appointment for later the same day - to which they did not show up again. Again Samsung called them (this time I required a 3 way call) & set up another appointment (for another day).
The A&E Factory repair guy came, pulled the freezer out & determined that it was in fact leaking. He ordered the parts & two weeks later the repair guy came. He said he could not work on the unit because I had laminate flooring & he requested that I sign a waiver. I refused & they left. I then called to reset another appointment for three weeks later (after my vacation) and was told that that date wasn't available yet, I'd have to call back next week.
Samsung has not helped me with my freezer issue and I am not happy at all with their product or the warranty repair service. I will NEVER buy another Samsung product in my life! This not only wastes ice, it creates a collection of ice cubes which eventually inhibit the secure closing of the freezer drawer. We have been without a use of a freezer for 54 days and no refrigerator for 15 days!!! We had 7 service calls from Samsung authorized repair technicians (Sears & A&E Factory) to repair a non-functioning freezer. However, the refrigerator was working until April 21. We paid $600+ for the 1st service call + 2 motherboards that the service technician claimed was defective. After it was installed, the freezer still wasn't working. The same technician then said that it was the seal system, and so did technicians #4-7. During the 6th visit a dye was used to find the source of the leak. The next day the refrigerator stopped working!
I begged Samsung to send a repair technician but had to wait for one week for the next service call. A new compressor was installed on 4/26/15 but it still did not work. It also requires a new condenser, however Samsung won't authorize it. I emailed Samsung all requested documentation: work orders, my purchase receipt, and included a 4 page letter with details of the 7 service calls and phone calls. I have made several calls to Samsung Executive Customer Relations begging for a quick resolution. I am still waiting for a resolution, 8 days later. I've been finding plastic bits/shavings in my drinks. I have discovered it's a result of plastic parts that have broken or fallen apart. At first discovery, I choked on the tiny piece. I cleaned out the ice compartment and discovered the broken plastic mechanism. I would recommend they replace these parts with a metal alloy to prevent someone from choking and filing a lawsuit. Despite this problem, I still like my Samsung products. I also own a Samsung washer, dryer, and television which have served me well.

About few month later, I did cleaning again. This time I found a lot of water under deli tray, I still did not realized it is quality problem. Then few days ago when I started cleaning, I cleaned out about 1 gallon of water from bottom of deli tray. Then I called customer service, they said I already passed 1 year guarantee, they cannot do anything.
I told them this happened just few months after I punched, because it already builded up ice. If I did not pull out deli tray, I won't never find water leaking. The customer service just gave me a phone number to call, told me cost at least $399 plus tax. Then later I called back again, same answer. I ask if I can talk to manager, she said she is manager assistant. Help customer service, gave me the same phone number. I told her I cannot believe Samsung has poor quality, before I bought $400 refrigerator, never had any problem. Called Samsung Customer Service and after spending 45 min on the phone I was transferred to the Executive Customer Relations only to answer a myriad of questions that were already answered during the first call and supposedly documented in the service ticket. The Executive Customer Relations could not provide much assistance except for providing the names of two Samsung approved service centers; however, conveniently forgot to provide a service to be provided to the service center. Therefore, when I placed the call to the Service center I was informed that without that number they cannot assist.
Called Samsung again, only to go through the same process described above and waste another good hour on the phone to obtain the service ticket number. Called the Service Center and 48 hours later, a technician showed up; however, due to the size and location of the refrigerator he could not assess what needed to be done. He placed a call to the Service Center to re-scheduled the repair and at the end he informed me that he is going to be on site on the following week on Wednesday at 8 AM along with his supervisor **.
Wednesday came and at 8:30 AM I called ** to see what time he'll be on site only to be informed that he'll be in at 10AM. At 10:30 I called their center and was informed that they will not be in till 11AM. They showed up at 11:30AM. The unit was checked by an experienced technician, not Samsung, and later on he provided me with the technical bulletin from Samsung showing that this unit has two independent compressors and it is 'Not-serviceable'; however, the Samsung service technician said that they can fix it. We purchased our Samsung in August of 2014. We were gone for an extended period of time and the fridge was barely used and was off most of the time after delivery. We returned in mid March and a couple of weeks ago in early April 2015 I placed a double wrapped (plastic and butcher wrap) package of frozen fish on a fridge shelf to thaw for cooking in a couple of days. Two days later, when I went to the fridge there was a terrible odor... fish. I noticed the thawed fish had leaked and spilled all over the shelf and down into the drawer below. I removed it all and cleaned it up and tossed the fish too sickened to cook it.
About 4 days or so later I noticed that the odor remained. I recleaned the entire fridge. I noticed that the shelf on which the fish leaked, the one that I had cleaned thoroughly now had a reddish brown stain all along all sides under the tempered glass between the shelf frame and the glass. Ok, I thought, I must remove the glass BUT the glass is sealed into the frame and I could and cannot remove it for proper cleaning. Now, the clear fluid that leaked under the glass has a reddish brown color which indicates to me that bacteria were feasting on the fish juice that spilled from the package. I was alarmed and ran hot water from the faucet directly onto the shelf sides. NO LUCK! I then tried soaking the shelf... one side at a time, in my sink in hot soapy water. STILL NO LUCK. I called Samsung, live chatted with Samsung and submitted emails and called my appliance dealer.
We purchased an expensive 5 year warranty for service. I thought they would make this right. All of the shelves, freezer and fridge are sealed. You cannot clean any spilled liquid!!! I even tried inserting a single edged razor blade under the side to let water in but it would not. I asked Samsung for directions on how to clean those sides of the glass. THEY SAID THEY HAD NO SUGGESTION. My appliance dealer also said they could not help. After approximately 8 hours on the phone with Samsung I now have a refrigerator that is a bacteria factory and cannot be cleaned. I am going to report this here and now I am going to search out a class action lawyer who will take this case.
I have NEVER owned a fridge that did now allow for cleaning of the glass, or if sealed, did not allow fluid leakage. SAMSUNG HAS A DESIGN FLAW. If you care about your health and the health of your family DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE HEALTH RELATED ISSUES. Samsung offered to send out a service person. HOWEVER, if this was a "cleaning/maintenance" issue, I would have to pay for a $55.00 charge. Do not even try going into their self help or request for service by phone or online. Both methods ultimately shift you back into a service request "circle" of forms that grow more complicated.
I spent more than four hours on the link that I was given that would "solve my problem." I took the link and filled out all the information, uploaded photos of the problem (bacteria growing) and scanned and uploaded my sales receipt. It then flipped me to a self-help page that one could NEVER escape from until Samsung clocked you out. If you are human, like me, and occasionally spill liquids in the fridge, DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG, IT WOULD BE SAFER TO BUY AN ICE CHEST AND A BAG OF ICE IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SAFE FOOD STORAGE. That's it, I'll never buy another Samsung product! Now, I'm off to find a class action lawyer to make them fix this problem. I've felt nauseated ever since noticing this reddish brown bacteria. Don't know if it was/is the bacteria I can't remove or the stress that Samsung has caused!

There was some recent unusual noises in the fridge prior but subsided; phone tech suggested leveling but it is level. The doors close and are aligned properly. That was not the problem.
Tech was sent to service the refrigerator and after electronically testing the unit announced it was the defrost sensor that was out (DA32-00006W). Obviously we had to replace- BUT NOT COVERED!!! I've had multiple Samsung service appointments performed by NISI NJ Inc (an Authorized Service Center of Samsung Electronics). I work full time and I was forced to use my vacation days for the multiple service appointments as the service appointments were only available Mon through Fri 9 till 5pm. Not to mention hundreds of dollars of food thrown out constantly.
This multi-hundred dollar unit accordingly is unusable after less than a couple of years. I do not expect a refrigerator to last forever. I do however expect it to last at least more than two years. I recently learned that the company has sold refrigerators since 2005 with multiple defects and thousands of people are experiencing similar issues. I assumed Samsung would stand behind its product. However, after extremely lengthy and unpleasant calls with customer service office, Samsung said it refuses to offer any help as the one year warranty has now expired. RF217ACPN - The condensation/moisture is suppose to leak down into an evaporator plate at the base of the unit. But what happens over time, (about 6 months) the through hole, the moisture leaks down, becomes frozen and gets blocked causing moisture to drip inside of your refrigerator and forming ice at the bottom. It will eventually leak into your crisper and then the fridge will stop working altogether. It's a design flaw and Samsung and or Lowe's (where I purchased the unit) should redesign and replace or reimburse. These are pretty high end products and you should have some sense of quality assurance when you purchase them.

In 3/2014 we bought a Samsung counter depth refrigerator RF197ACRS. Not sure when it first started happening but in December we noticed water in the crisper drawers, and upon removing them to empty the water, we found a layer of ice as this is just above the freezer. So I called Samsung and they sent out a warranty company, Lakes Electronics. I live in a gated community so when the gate called, I decided to go out to the driveway to meet the technician. I found it odd that he was walking up my driveway with a huge part under his arm. I thought to myself, that is odd, as an engineer myself I would think that a problem needs to be diagnosed before bringing new parts into the equation. So after an hour, the technician announces that it is all fixed, but being an engineer I wanted to know more. The technician was very reserved and would not offer much information.
I did get him to say that once this new part was installed, he'd never seen this problem reoccur. So again my engineering kicks in and I decide they had a design problem. Well 2 weeks later same thing. So I call Samsung and had to go through this all over again. Amazing Lakes Electronics sends the same technician and this time, he puts on a "leak" kit and tells me that Samsung instructed that the refrigerator be tipped from front to back. Folks you don't have to be an engineer to understand that is what we use to call a "kluge". Of course this doesn't work, so now I am really hot and I email the salesman and tell him to contact the Samsung rep and come get this unit out of my house for a full refund. After 3 more days, I find out that they won't give me a refund so I will severely impact the Samsung refrigerator sales until they do so!!!

When our Samsung refrigerator died after only 3 yrs., we thought it a "fluke" and for some unearthly reason we purchased another Samsung. This "new" refrigerator is so noisy that our guests have actually asked "What is that noise?" After many communications back and forth with Samsung (wherein Samsung acknowledged the noisiness), and with RC Willey, Samsung sent a technician to our home to inspect the refrigerator, he determined that although the refrigerator is properly working, the loudest noise had to do with the water running into the ice maker which occurs about every 90 minutes. It is a clunking sound followed by a tinny vibration and then another clunking sound. He acknowledged the noise and asked if either Samsung or RC Willey would help us and I responded "No."
We spent more than $2,100 on this refrigerator and, although the refrigerator is working, the noisiness is embarrassing and even makes me jump occasionally. I requested that we be able to exchange the refrigerator for another model but Samsung has refused. Never again would we purchase a Samsung product and we may also never shop at RC Willey again as they also did nothing to help us. They could have exchanged the refrigerator but also chose not to. I am thinking of filing a small claims as we never anticipated buying a new refrigerator with these problems.

I usually never write online reviews but I feel compelled to warn anyone I can about Samsung and the junk appliances it produces. I've had numerous experiences with Samsung Refrigerators, Dishwashers, etc. For one thing....their refrigerators have a known design defect which causes the evaporator coils to build up ice on them. Usually after approximately one year (after the warranty runs out) you will start hearing loud clicking/grinding noises from your freezer. This is the fan hitting the ice building up around the coils. You will then be forced to defrost the piece of junk with a hair dryer or just shut it off for 24 hours to defrost it. Samsung has known about this for years, yet it continues to produce junk appliances and will not stand behind them.

Suddenly after 4.5 years the controls on our Samsung model RB194ACRS fridge have gone wonky. The freezer goes away down below the set temperature, the temperature indicator on the door gives the wrong temperature reading, the child lock is on, though not selected. As a consequence the crispers freeze and the defrost water running down the back wall freezes in or under the crispers. The drain issue can be 'solved' by defrosting or adding a part, but with $300 invested in a new fridge sensor, a new freezer sensor and a new motherboard, we are at the end. The authorized Samsung service people do not believe that a second replacement motherboard will change anything and so it is new fridge time. It won't be a Samsung.

We spent a lot of money for this and it hasn't been what we hoped. Removing the protective film was difficult. There are still small pieces of it wedged in various places after three years. The material at the base of the cup holder scuffed within the first month from merely placing a cup to get water. I have been unable to find anything to cover the scuff so that area looks permanently nasty. No children are in this house so it wasn't rough handling that caused the scuffing. The frost free freezer is not. Ice feathers had grown to where I had to unpack everything, wipe it off with towels, allow the freezer to thaw and remove all ice and water and then repack. At that time, I cleaned all of the seals. For three weeks, the freezer was fine, and now it is as bad as it was before with ice feathers. Whenever I remove something from the freezer, ice chunks fall on the floor. I guess I will have to defrost the frost free freezer again.

They are willing to buy it back for 756.00. Should I be happy??? I can assure you I am not.
If they admit there is a problem and their warranty ran out last August, why would they be willing to buy it back??? And I am suppose to accept this GREAT LOSS? Not without a fight. I have made many calls to them and emails to get paperwork to them, faxes to them on the same paperwork. And was asked again today to email the original contract again, 4 emails-efaxes they didn't get, 2 phone faxes that didn't show the total price. But this final email today showed it all to the young man I sent to while I kept him on the line.
So tell me should I just let it go? And top of it all, their policy is before that refund can come, you have to cut the cord from the fridge, wrap it with labels from inside fridge with S/N and model around the cord and take a picture and wait on your refund. Now common sense tells me that if I do that I will lose all my stuff in the fridge and freezer and wait till their refund arrives and then purchase a new fridge plus fork out about 850.00 to replace it with what I bought 17 months after I bought it originally. I wish I could make some sort of sense out that policy??? Would love some feedback on this and would love for anyone with this sort of issue to also SHARE this so others may avoid what we are going through. Thank you Samsung USA.

This I'd to bring to your notice that I had purchased samsung RD 58 EASMI REFRIGERATOR in the year 2007. Till 2013 it was working fine. In 2013 the compressor conked and I had to pay rs 4948 bill no ** dated 6.7.13 (vision cool service) for repair. The machine conked again and I had to pay 2354 dated 19.8.13 bill no ** (vision cool services).
My machine has conked again and I have sent it to the same authorised service station, this time they are asking for rs 10200 for repair. The price of the compressor then was 2462, now it's more than 6500. How can Samsung justify the escalation of price of the compressor by 3 times in a span of just 18 months, and they are offering a warranty of just 3 months. I am a poor person and it's not possible to pay 10000 each year for repair.

Our Samsung 26 cu ft french door refrigerator (RF267AERS) is only 4 years old and we're shopping for a new one. The coils in the back of the fridge behind the plastic panel freeze up and block the fan. The fan gets louder and louder until we unload the whole thing and take an entire day to defrost it. Sometimes the ice on the coils does melt and then it flows down under the deli drawer and inside the deli drawer because of the frozen up drain hole (also behind the plastic panel). I often have to break up sheets of ice under the deli drawer as well. The seals on the fridge doors are already breaking too! I called Samsung and gave them my model number and told them the problem and they told me to call a certified repair company. From the research I've done online that will cost me $300 and they will just do what we have done which is to defrost the coils, then it will just happen all over again. I'll never buy another Samsung.

We had the absolute worst experience with Samsung. We called because our freezer was 2.5 years old and both ice makers broken in addition to the freezer. Our freezer wasnt staying at the correct temperature. I called to see what, if anything they can do. They advised me that there is no warranty. I requested the information for an authorized Samsung repairer (they did not offer). I was told that I would need to call and set up the appointment since I was no longer under warranty. I expressed how disappointed I was that our refrigerator was broken and was under 3 years old. He continued to reminded me there is no warranty so that was the end of that. I then called the number provided by the Samsung representative and did not speak with anyone.
I chatted with a representative over the internet and explained that I could not get in contact with them and explained that I am loyal customer of Samsung for over 10 years and am in need of assistance. He could not do anything other than tell me that my warranty has expired and that I should call the number provided. I called a total of 4 times and left 2 voice messages. I then contacted via chat to beg for help and he then provided a number to Samsung Emergency Help. However at this exact time my husband was at the house with an unauthorized repair company because we have now been 4 days without a refrigerator and have a house of 6 to provide for. The emergency repair representative said that they cannot help because an unauthorized has touched our appliance.
The unauthorized repair man confirmed we had a freon leak which was the reason our temperature was not right in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments in addition to having broken ice makers. The Freon had a 5 year warranty and when a supervisor called me back she said I should have looked at the manual and that that was my responsibility. I reminded her that I told the rep I spoke with everything and I am not too savvy when it comes to diagnosing issues with my refrigerator so I did not know it was the freon, I clearly communicated that the freezer and refrigerator temps where not right and the original rep I communicated that too agreed but still told me I have no warranty so I believed I had no warranty.
I was repeatedly blamed for not arguing with the rep about the freon and warranty issue. They blamed me for getting a unauthorized repair man, They said I should have kept calling them when I got no response from their authorized repair facility. The chat rep disconnected/hung up on me (still had questions), when I asked to speak with the supervisor - she stated, "You actually spoke with my supervisor already," and went on to explain that her supervisor passed it to her to handle when I requested a supervisor and that I could not speak to anyone else. The supervisor blamed me for not setting an appointment up through them (even after I told her I was clearly told that I have to do it). I did not raise my voice nor did I at anytime use vulgarities or insult anyone that I spoke with.
I reminded them that I was a loyal customer with over 14 Samsung products that includes appliances, phones, media equipment, and tables and it meant nothing. I suggested they at least give me a coupon to purchase something else and all was denied. I cannot and will not patronize a company that has such bad service. I talked to Samsung 3 times by phone when I called, 2 time when a supervisor called me, and 2 times by chat and I did not have an acceptable experience. I feel as if the product was defective if everything broke within a week of each other and it was only 2.5 years old. Terrible Service, no I am purchasing a new refrigerator and will not consider a Samsung product again.

Please do not believe the five-star reviews for the Samsung FRG298HDRS model refrigerator. The owners have not had them long enough. After two years of use, the water inlet valve started to leak. Shortly after, both ice makers quit. A month after the valve replacement, it filled the lower freezer with water that spilled over my hardwood floor. Two ice maker changes later, I went back to ice trays. I will say the cooling still works fine (for now). Local appliance repair stores in my area won't touch or don't know how to fix a Samsung. I went to Home Depot and they called Samsung and said that my delivery address always changed to Arcadia (I live in Palmdale), we fixed the delivery address after Samsung has said I changed it, which I didn't! And they would deliver it the first week of January, a whole month after I initially ordered it. When the day of the delivery came, the fridge was damaged for a SECOND time, and not to mention the unprofessionalism from the 2 delivery associates. They urged us to keep the damaged one, we declined. We had to wait again for another fridge.
We called for compensation they promised us 200$ dollars that would take 6 weeks to process. It's been 3 months and I called them today and they said they denied my compensation. SAMSUNG is horrible, I will definitely never recommend Samsung to anybody and I will make sure corporate hears about this!

I bought my Samsung French door fridge/freezer in December 2011. It remained in good working order for about a year, giving me a supply of ice. Then the ice maker fell apart about and a few months later I noticed ice accumulating under the produce bins making the drawers impossible to open. Removal of the ice solves the problem for a month then the ice returns. Taking out the ice involves pouring in a lot of hot water; the task is annoying and not a good use of my time at the weekend. I will have to continue this task however as I cannot afford a new fridge and getting a repair seems to be useless according to other reviews.

We purchased a side by side and for the first year it worked well. Then this rattling sound started up and the temperature rose within the refrigerator. Called Samsung and they said they would send out a repairer at my cost since it was out of warranty. They sent out A&E who said there was nothing wrong and that the sound is normal and the temperature was fine (even though my food was spoiling), then tried to sell me an extended warranty for $200.00. When I said "no" they closed up the fridge and gave me a bill for $90.00.
The rattle persisted and the temperature was now recording at 50 degrees and I requested Samsung send someone out who can repair it. I asked them to cover the cost since their recommended repairer charged me for not fixing it! They said no!! The second repairer came and saw that the thermostat was faulty and the machine had iced up behind the back panels...took 3 days to get the ice to defrost and they replaced the thermostat at my cost... 5 months later the same thing happened again... I am getting rid of it in favor of something that is far better rated and definitely not a Samsung! Will never purchase their refrigerators again because I don't want to deal with a company that doesn't value its customers by sending out dodgy repairers that only want to up sell their service and not fix the actual issue.

My Samsung refrigerator is about 4 years old. Several times, it has simply quit operating. Most times disconnecting the power and restarting it has solved the problem. Yesterday it starting showing the error message "OF" which means it has gone back into showroom mode. This mode shuts the refrigerator down and is used in showroom situations to reduce power consumption. I researched the error code and tried all the solutions outlined on the various websites to no avail. I called a repairman and he indicated that the computer has failed and I would need to spend $600 to fix it. This was a top-rated refrigerator by Consumer Affairs. We are totally dissatisfied with Samsung's French door refrigerator (RF26VABWF) and totally frustrated with dealing with their appointed service representative - Lakes Electronics. We purchased a French door refrigerator December 2008. By March 2012, the refrigerator stopped cooling. Between Lowes' service company and then Samsung's factory service unit (Lakes Electronics) it took three trips and $570 dollars to get serviceable.
Three years later, the refrigerator started leaking water from the unit that was replaced in 2012. We called Lakes Electronics directly for service, who responded appropriately the next day. The repair person defrosted the leaking unit, charged the standard fee, and gave us his directed contact number. Within a few days the refrigerator started leaking water again, we waited a few days in hopes that it would corrected itself and called for another service trip. On the second trip, the service rep took the unit apart, supposedly unfroze the drain line and told us that he would check with Samsung to try to diagnose the problem. He said that he should have an answer in a day and a half.
Needless to say, the leak resumed within two days. The rep failed call with the status of the claim. We called him twice after a week, but he failed to answer and failed to return the call. We infer that he had no idea what was wrong. We don't know if he neglected to contact Samsung or Samsung didn't know how to fix the problem.
Now we contacted Lakes again. We get the answer that they will send the same representative out and that they will charges us again. In effect, they promised fix our flat tire by filling it with air but not find the nail that causes the flat. When we question whether they guarantee that the problem is fixed, we get a run-around. When we ask to discuss the issue with supervisory staff, we are put on permanent hold.
In addition to the above tale of woe, the ice maker stopped working a couple years ago. Plus the cold water runs so slowly, it is totally worthless. These problems were true with a brand new filter. The filters cost $40 every six months. With the rest of our frustrations with our purchase of the refrigerator we haven't even considered bringing service in for ice and water line problems. For sure, we will never buy another Samsung appliance.

I bought a Samsung refrigerator from Lowes in 2010. In late 2012 I noticed a little rust at the bottom of the water/ice dispenser. I thought at first It was externally caused. When it became obvious that it the pan itself was rusting, I called Samsung Customer Service and explained the situation. After explaining the situation, the CSR left the line for a few minutes. When she returned she suggested I buy Bartenders Friend to clean up the mess. When I asked how I could prevent the rust from returning, she seemed confused, said she had solved my problem and hung up.
I emailed Samsung CS with the complaint stating that a 30-month enamel job shouldn't fail and how could I prevent the rust from occurring again. I received a reply that read like the author's master's thesis that thoroughly explained the chemical action that occurs between water and iron. I went to Lowe's in Palmdale, CA with my problem. The salesman was no help; the department "manager" told me that Samsung didn't make that model anymore and maybe that was why. And that he couldn't help me. Ask me if I'll buy anything from Samsung again. Or if I shop at Lowes.
