    The sales visit was great, and installation was good as well. It didn't take long, and the installers cleaned up well after. They didn't leave any mess.     I fell a few months ago in my tub and I thought the walk-in shower was way too expensive, but different ones said, "It's your health. It's an investment." The sales guy walked away thinking that I was gonna say no because I didn't say anything that day, but the visit went very well. Installation was very well done too. The man that was here had a helper with him and they were very good people. I was very satisfied.     We got a letter about Safe Step in the mail, then I called and talked to somebody about it. A guy then came and the sales visit was good. The guy that came to talk to us was clear about everything, and the guys that installed the shower did good. They got a bit behind and got here somewhere between 9:00 and 10:00 because they hit some traffic, then they left between 4:00 and 5:00. They stepped right up and got the job done.

    The installers took the tub out and because my mom was asking questions as the job was going on, they explained everything as they were going. When they went to leave, the guy sat down with us and explained that my mom had to wait 24 hours before she could use the shower. My mom's only got to use it once, because right now, she's gets dizzy, and I have a girl that comes up here and helps her out some. When my mom's ready to get a shower, then I'll call her and she'll come up. Other than that, my mom likes the walk-in shower and she's gonna be using it within the next day or so again.

    I saw an article on Safe Step in a magazine, and I looked at them, put a call in, and I liked what they told me. The salesman came out, and he was very knowledgeable. He went over what was offered and showed me all the options. I chose the one I liked, which is a classic walk-in shower, and it was a fair price. When the installers came in, they covered the floor with stuff so that they didn't track everything up. They let me know what they were gonna be doing, and they started tearing the old stuff out. My wife took pictures as they did it, so we got a record of how they did it.

    The installation got done in the day, which was surprising. The installers were professional, doing it in a quick and safe manner. The shower in the tub and the outside parts people can see were great. However, one of the fittings on the faucet inside started leaking, so I had to have them come back and tighten that up. I had to wait, but they came out fast to fix it, so I was well pleased with that. The customer service was great.

    We're getting older, and the tub we had was a big one. However, I just used the shower so I didn't figure going for another tub would do me that much good. We decided to go with the shower and it's been good for us. I've used the walk-in shower twice. I like the floor in it because it's rough and I noticed I didn't go sliding around on it. It worked good that way. Safe Step had two bars, and I had them put a third bar on the back. Now, there's one on each end and then one at the back. So, safety-wise, it looks like it's gonna be fine. I would recommend Safe Step to my friends.

    I went with Safe Step Walk-In Showers because I had known of them and a friend had used them. I knew that they were good if my friend used them. The rep was here for four hours. That was ridiculous. If I wasn't looking to replace my tub with a shower, I would have told him to get out of my house. He was on the pushy side, but I am very happy with what I got. Safe Step did a very good job. I take a shower longer because I got the spa shower and it has different parts, so I use all of them. The jets are good for my back. I like it has a seat in it. I can sit down, lather up, shave and don't have to stand anymore.

I liked him better than anybody else I talked to. They took out the old and put in extra foam. It was good. They told me what was wrong with the bathtub and they were very considerate. The product itself cleans up nice. It looks great. I love all the jets and the seat in it. I should have gotten it years ago. I've showed it off. I told everybody they gotta get one.     Safe Step Walk-In Showers gave a deal as I thought I could get. A lot of the choice was made because of their warranties. The salesman was knowledgeable. After the salesman got through, the installers that put the shower in came out to double-check the salesman's measurements a week or two before coming out and doing the installation. They're licensed installers, but they're also employees of Safe Step. They came out, which I did not expect, and double-checked a lot of measurements and to make sure that everything was ordered correctly.

    The installers made a recommendation to make a change, which after they made the recommendations, I looked at it, thought and said, "That makes a lot of sense." We went ahead and made that change in the order. There was no extra cost and I'm glad we did that. Everything looked good on that. That was an extra effort that they put forth that I did not expect. I felt sure that doing that has saved them some headaches as well by coming out with the wrong stuff because they didn't come and double-check everything, and had to stop in the middle of the job and reorder.

    They ran into a few unexpected issues, but they were able to work around them good. They did some work that I expected to do myself when they finished up. They pulled out an existing shower plus an existing garden tub. I expected to have to cover the hole where the garden tub was at my own self, and they did it before they left. There was a hole left in the ceiling where a vent pipe went through. I expected I had to take care of that and they handled that before they left, and a few other things. They did better than I was expected. I was very satisfied.

    My wife and I debated back and forth whether we wanted a shower door or just a curtain. My wife has done two showers in it. Right after it got installed, we were on vacation for a week. We were gone a little over a week. We still haven't decided whether we made the right decision on putting in a shower door or not. A shower door can be added later. No problem. That's an option that we're still debating on. She told me the other day she wished she had one more handrail. That was an option when we first ordered it. I got a feeling it would be expensive to have them come back and install it. I might talk to them and see what the options are on that. Everything was for my wife's benefit. We needed a shower big enough so she could put a stool in and sit down. My wife thought that would just the shower would be better for her because it's a larger area to maneuver in.

    I'm not a stranger to construction and plumbing issues. I've been around that all my life. Uncles and grandparents being contractors, electricians and plumbers and all. I well knew what was going on. I was impressed that the installlers were prepared and knowledgeable about what they were doing. They had the materials with them to do a lot of extra work that was unexpected. One big sheet of OSB they needed to extra support under the floor because that floor has given some. They didn't know what the floor would be like. I didn't know it would be given like that. They weren't satisfied with the floor given. They needed a stiffer to support the shower. They had the OSB with them to do that with. And they didn't have to take off to Lowe's or Home Depot and pick up anything. They had it right there. They had it with them on the truck. I was surprised that they had that. They came prepared.

    The jobs should have done for half of what I had to pay, but they were in line with everybody else. I'm retired and living on Social Security and a meager police, law enforcement retirement, and that's not a lot of money. I had to come out of pocket for about $12,000. That is expensive for a shower. But I had to have something for my wife to be able to get in and out of the shower. That had to be done.

    The whole industry is getting rich off of it. That should have been a $5000. But it is what it is. That's what the industry standard is. We paid a bit more than some of the other estimates because of the warranty. When I look at warranties, I look at how long a company has been around. If they are a young company, they can give a lifetime warranty, but they haven't been around long so are they gonna stay around? Warranty is no good if they're not around to honor the warranty. If they're out of business, they're out of business. Safe Step has been around for years. If they've been around that long, they're stable. I felt more comfortable with them being around to honor the warranty that they offered.

    I'm not happy. Safe Step installed the wrong shower, not the one I paid for. They also broke the doors. The guys who installed the glass doors broke them before they installed them. I still have no doors and no shower. They told me maybe Monday, and it has been a while since they installed the wrong one. The salesman, Mike, was good. He told me to send pictures, and I did. He said, “Okay. I'll take care of it.” Cindy was nice the first couple of times I called. They were nice about responding to my needs at that time.

    I called Cindy this morning. She was standoffish because I called her. I don't care what she told me. I need my shower. Cindy told me the doors would be delivered in my house. I called her to tell her that no one delivered the doors. She said, "Oh, the doors! You didn't understand." I said, “I guess I don't understand English now.” She said, "Well, I told you that they're in the store right now.” I said, “Okay.” She said they are waiting for parts, but it's up to her to call me, tell me, “I'm sorry that I don't have the parts yet.” That's customer service. But they didn’t do that. I gotta call them. I paid $27,000 and I got no shower. I cannot use it. They got my money. I gotta wait whenever they could come and fix it. I know it's hard to get parts, but I want them to understand what I'm going through. I got the shower for my wife to get in and out.

    I got a letter in the mail from Safe Step Walk-In Showers. I called the number, and they came out and showed me. I saw what I wanted and colors in the bathroom. I picked it out, and I was pleased with it when they got through. I wish I opened the door inside. I wanted to put shower curtains, and see if I could have both. But that's okay. Everything went fine. The reps were very nice. The installers came a bit earlier than they said. They got busy the time they got here, and didn't stop until they finished, which was 5:30 that evening. If they needed to ask questions, they did. But they mostly just worked and towed the stuff out and put it in the van.

    I like that I walk in the shower. We had a bathroom built when we were young. We added it to this house. It was built up the tub high. We had to step over into that and it was glass doors. My husband is 85 and can hardly walk. That's why we decided to get rid of the glass doors in the tub and just do a walk-in shower. We got a seat in there where he can sit down, hold it and spray himself, and another one that comes up from the top.

    I saw a Safe Step ad in one of those mailers and it caught my eye because we've been looking for quite a while to remodel this bathroom. Also, we have elderly parents and I though we'd see what this is like here in this house and if I like it, then I'd know who to call next time. When the rep came out to do a presentation, he was very nice. He did a great demonstration of the product. He had a piece of the shower tub, the flooring, and demonstrated how that was gonna work, and let us stand on it and look at it. We had been through several companies and Safe Step's presentation was shorter than the others and seemingly less pushy.

    The deal was the deal. At the end of it, he said how much it would be and I said we were not gonna make the call that day. He said it was fine and I asked how much it would be later and he said that was how much it would be and it didn't matter when we do it. No other company had been like that. All the other companies said, "Well, if you'll do it today, we'll knock out 15% or whatever and things like that." I appreciated the honesty and the transparency that we seemed to be getting from the salesperson.

    They gave a set time for the installation and they were able to keep that time. In fact, we had to push it back for our schedule. So they had the time. The install was quick. They were gonna take the cabinets out and the salesperson said it's normally six hours but that it would be two days because of the demo. Then, the installer called and said they'd get it done in one day. They were done within the time frame they gave us and I appreciated too that with some contractors, you gotta clean up after them and that wasn't the case here. It was clean, it looked right, the shower was on, and didn't have to do anything.

    My oldest daughter said it's the best money we've ever spent on their behalf and that it's amazing. She's loved it from day one and the youngest also has. The little two complain because our old shower had a nozzle that was extremely high pressure and they were frustrated by the lack of water pressure at first but I think they're enjoying it now.

    I called Safe Step, and a guy named Mitchell came out. He was a very nice guy. I thought installation was gonna take most of the day, but they got here just before 8:00 and left by 11 o'clock. They were in and out, worked quietly and did good, and I was impressed. I liked the quality too. The shower is very convenient. I tried the seat and I don't necessarily need it in there, but I have a niece and a brother-in-law that have disabilities, so it works perfectly when they come. They don't have to go down or up the stairs.

    The shower is perfect. At my age, I never know when I'm gonna lose my balance when I get in the shower. The Safe Step shower has a grid thing in the floor, so it makes it safe.     I called a few companies and they were too wishy-washy about the VA involvement. But when I talked with Safe Step, they participated with the VA and I was able to get my shower. Things didn't get done in a timely fashion but it wasn't Safe Step's problem. If the representative gave me a little more information about the steps to go through the VA, I would have gotten everything done sooner. But once I got past the VA, it was smooth sailing. For the installation, the techs had no serious construction to do because I had worked in my bathroom years ago. They just had to take the old bathtub out and put this one in, and it didn't take very long. So far, I like the handheld wand and my wife and I are happy with the walk-in shower.

    We had a spa tub which was big, tall and deep. We're in our seventies and it was getting painful to step into that tub. So, we decided to get a walk-in shower because of that, plus safety concerns. We talked to a rep from Safe Step and he explained everything very clearly and concisely. He answered every question we had and we really enjoyed the whole process right up until they told us the price. That was a bit painful. But he was wonderful. We also couldn't ask for anything better when it came to the installation. The product is very well designed for safety and comfort. I've shared pictures of our walk-in shower with about everybody I know, so I've done a lot of advertising for Safe Step. My husband loves that little chair in there. I've used it once and I don't really need it, but the grab bars help you feel sturdy and secure. And the two different showerhead options are really nice, clean, and pretty.

    The people were all very friendly. I dealt with the people that installed the shower and they were very nice. There were some things on the installation that I was a little disappointed in. It was more on the quality of what they installed. I watched them carry it in and it's a cheap piece of plastic they put on the walls. Safe Step said that the base was gonna be solid and I have a low spot in it. If it's solid, I'm gonna have a low spot in it where water collects. Also, the showerhead was not what I expected. It's kind of a cheap one. For $10,000, I expected more, and I could have gotten a lot cheaper with a little better quality.

    The installers were very neat about what they did. I like the shower. There are a few things that I don't like about it, but for the most part, I needed a walk-in shower because I have difficulty moving around. But what they put in was kind of cheap and the guy that sold it to me oversold it. Other than that, the people with the installation were very friendly and helpful. It was pouring down rain when they came and they were very considerate of my place and keeping things nice. The caulking job was a little messy, but other than that, they did a pretty good job.

    They came and measured carefully and got the dimensions. They asked me some questions about what I wanted. When the installers came, they had everything made and cut. They ripped out the old tub and took down some of the wall and moved the plumbing and put it all back together just the way I wanted it. They were here for about five hours and it was pretty great because there was no interference or big disturbance. The shower looks good and works really well. I'm completely happy with it.

    I had been thinking about taking out my tub and doing a shower for a while because I’m getting older. I saw the ad for Safe Step and I called them. The sales experience was great. The installers were marvelous. They got here at 11 o'clock in the morning and they were gone by 4:00. And everything was cleaned. The quality is marvelous. One of my husbands was a builder. I helped him build houses and I am really picky.

    I have a wonderful showerhead that I love. There's an arm on the side of the shower to bring it down, make it handheld. I have a chair inside the shower. The only possible negative thing is the fact that I am really short, with really short legs and the chair is too high for me. But it's made my life a lot easier. It's also easier to clean. This house was built in 1955. The bathtub I'm quite sure was original. Cast iron and there was no glazing left to it. No amount of scrubbing ever made it look clean, which drove me crazy. The shower is clean. It doesn't even get dirty. I love it.

    I inherited my mother's home, which is 100 years old. Before she passed, I had to have a handicap-accessible work done here in the house. So I got an HUD grant and they put in a shower. It got covered with mold and the finish broke off the shower. It leaked constantly and it was an eyesore all the way around. So, I had gone with varying companies and they gave us estimates. Safe Step was the first place that we had had come out. But their price on the walk-in tub was a little over our heads.

    Then, there was another company which promised us the moon. But when it came down to it, they wouldn't deliver. After the run-in with that company, I called Safe Step's rep back and told him hat we'd to get a price on a shower. They told us that at the time, it was taking 8 to 10 weeks to get a shower put in. They came out and gave us a quote. Everything was so expensive, but they were right in line with the other companies that we spoke to. My husband and I talked it over for a few days, then I called them back and told them that we decided to go with them.

    They did the whole job in one day and they made sure that they took all the garbage. I was very impressed with the way that they worked as well as the way that they cleaned up after themselves. The shower itself has been such a joy. I tease everybody that if they can't find me, I'm in the shower. Safe Step also gave us a shower curtain with magnets in it. And after a shower, I always open the shower curtain because I'm so proud of the way it looks. It is so pretty and nice, and I am so happy to have anybody go in my bathroom and look at my shower. “I love my bathroom, but I don't want anybody seeing my shower.” That was the way I was. But after we got Safe Step, I called all my family and friends, I took pictures with my phone, then I sent them all pictures and telling them to look at our shower.

    We've had our Safe Step shower for about two months now and it's one of the greatest things we ever bought. We love the rain showerhead, which is large. We also love the fact that there's the portable handheld shower as well. I like to get in, turn on the rain shower, walk in and just stand in that for a few minutes before I start actually showering. I used to like to walk in the rain before I got older, and I love to stand under the rain shower and imagine that I'm walking in the rain. Then I use the handheld shower to get all the shampoo and soap off.

    Aside from our Safe Step shower, we also have the shower that the HUD put in. The water would come out all over the floor hen we use it. I had to buy an 84-inch curtain and let it stay inside the shower to keep water off the floor. But the Safe Step has enough of a lip and with the magnets on it, we don't get any water on the floor at all, which is fantastic. Also, my husband picked out the surround, and a gray stone marble which is beautiful. All you have to do is take the shower head and spray it, then it cleans it off and it dries up. There are no spots and it doesn't look awful. So it's very easy to keep clean. Then we have the handheld bars to get in and out, so there's no slipping and sliding in the seat.

    I called Safe Step at six o'clock in the morning and figured I'd leave my name and phone number, but somebody answered the phone and talked to me. They told me what I needed to know then they sent somebody out here. When the guy came to the door, he was very personable. He sat down with us and his job was to tell us about what's available and what they can do. We both were impressed with him and with what he was telling us. He left us their brochure then we scheduled to have the installation done. We wanted it done sooner, but they couldn't. They knew we wanted it sooner and called us at some point to let us know they could come two weeks earlier.

    The installers came in and were very efficient. We very much liked the guy, Gene. He was in charge of the other guys. He was extremely good and very helpful. There were a few problems but he made sure they were taken care of. The price is not inexpensive, but our house is an older house. The bathtub they had to get out of our bathroom was challenging because it's one of these bathtubs that was from the 1960s. It was solid and it was amazing how fast they worked. They didn't stop to eat. We have loved having the walk-in shower. It works perfectly. It's exactly what we needed and exactly what was promised. I have a picture of it, and it looks better than it did in the brochure.

    I did a lot of researching. I did Google and Facebook searches, and I received some flyers in the mail. The first folks that I called were not able to service the area. Safe Step was the second one that I called, and they were able to service the area, so I went ahead and made an appointment with them. The sales rep was a very pleasant and amicable guy. My only complaint was he took a long time at the house.

    The installation team was very impressive as well. They came in and did the job thoroughly. It was a fantastic experience with them. The price of the shower is a little high and it was a challenge to get that much money together, but Safe Step did a really good job. We are very pleased. People were telling me I was spending way too much money for this project, but my response to that was, "I got it done and I got it done right." It was thorough, and that's what I stand behind.

    I was lied to by the Safe Step salesman. He said there was a program that the government offered for retired military called HISA, disabled veterans, and he told me that once the shower was installed, I could submit the paperwork along with some other stuff that Safe Step would provide me and I would get a partial reimbursement on the cost up to $6,500. But that was not true and I'm not really happy as far as that goes because it was all supposed to be initiated before the shower was done so that they could get pictures of the shower before and after, a bill of labor, and a bill of materials, to make sure that that the government and I were getting my money’s worth.

    I reached out to Damon in Tallahassee, the salesman, a couple of weeks after the installation to tell him that we were still waiting and we needed the so-called pictures he was supposed to send us. But he said that he was going to talk to the company and see if we could get some kind of rebate. I didn't expect one, but we never heard back from him either way. So, returning calls is not their forte.

    I was also told that the installation would be a one-day job but it turned into 12 days. Evidently, the glass doors that came with the shower got damaged or broken in transit. And with the day they came to install it, the gentleman we talked to in Tallahassee told us we would be able to use the shower that day. They would provide us with a curtain rod and a shower curtain, which they did. But they told us that the corner pieces were damaged along with the shower doors and they would be coming with the doors, which was a lie.

    When we called the gentleman in Tallahassee, he told us that they just forgot the pieces in Biloxi where they came from and they would be installed when the glass doors came in. But I told him that was not good since I use the shower regularly and I want to be able to use the shower the next day after they put it in. Then they came back with the pieces and installed them. They put the shower curtain and the shower rod up. But we didn't have hot water that night so we still weren't able to use the shower. When they adjusted the valves for the water temperature and water, they didn't turn the hot water on enough. So, we had no hot water coming out of the shower. So, they had to come back and do that too.

    But then, there was a leak coming from the bottom, underneath the threshold for the door. So, they had to come back and had to take care of that as well. Aside from that, they left fingerprints on my ceiling, which I just had painted a month before. And now, I don't know if I can put anything in there to step up on it to clean it off. I've got a small step stool but I'm not sure how strong that base is. I don't want to crack the base and have to wait again. Other than that, the product is good quality and is much better than what we had. It's convenient and easy to clean.

    Safe Step was wonderful. Their sales rep was so nice and the installers made sure the floors were all covered. They did a nice job. We took the shower chair out of the bathroom because it has its own. So, even if we don't need the shower chair all the time, it's nice that it's there. It doesn't take up any room if you don't need it in there. It looks better, too. I also feel very secure with the hand grab bars there and they got the rubber grip on them.

    But it would be nice if Safe Step would give the buyers more options without having to climb a price range so high. If you want to make the walls a different one without having to get all the other accessories, or instead of having the plain white or the other one, maybe you could get the color from the higher price one without jumping that many thousands of dollars. And if you didn't want that water thing that comes out of the bottom, where you test the water before you turn the shower on, you didn't have to get that. So they could offer more choices in the wall, the colors, and the design. Other than that, I'm very happy with what we have. I like the bottom and I feel very secure standing there with that bottom and how it's made.

    We live in a rural part of Louisiana, and there were no other big companies available to do the job like jacuzzi. None of them came down here. There were a bunch of fly-by-nights, but I wanted to get a company that I thought was reputable, so I went with Safe Step. The salesperson was really knowledgeable and she sold the product. We didn't have any questions that she couldn't answer.

    The installation team did the job in about 10 hours. They were not clean-looking though. They had beards and tats all over, and they weren't somebody I really wanted into my house at the time. I realized that it's tough to get guys, but one of these guys was talking about how many times he'd been in jail and the other guy was talking about jail. It made my wife uneasy.

    My experience has been, on a whole, good. The salesperson was perfect and the installers did a good job. It was higher than I wanted to pay, but it was the going price. However, I've got some problems with the shower. I'm a big guy. I weigh about 240. We couldn't get in the shower for 24 hours and when I got in, the bottom thumped up and down. It's not tight like it's gonna break when I step on it. I tried to talk to the people who installed the shower, then I finally got ahold of the company two weeks ago. They said they'd send somebody out. So, we'll see what happens.

    You better not get Safe Step Walk-In Showers. If I could get out there and walk up down the street with a sign and tell everybody, “Don't go with Safe Step,” I would. If they have a company who put out a good product, but hire the people in the states that know nothing about that and call themselves the installers, Safe Step better look into what they are doing. If they intend to stay in business, they should quit hiring these people from these other states that have no idea what they are doing. This is the sorriest job I have. And it cost me much money having to put in a floor on top of that.

    Safe Step's main thing is hiring these Jake-legs in this area to put up something that they know nothing about and cause all the damage they did. We took pictures and sent them to the woman that was head of those guys’ work and couldn't even get her on the phone. She couldn't care less. I had to pay a flooring place to put in a new floor in my bathroom for the tiles that they broke. The tech had a hammer in there, because I heard it. He beat up my tiles. He mismeasured something on bringing the glass door out as far as he did. So, he couldn't get the base flooring in there without beating the tile up. I had to have a new floor because they couldn't match the tiles. And they had to put in a whole new floor in the bathroom. That's what I did.

    They didn't put in the piece of metal that holds the glass doors on the thing. They just put it down. And they put down one metal down to the floor each side. They cut another one instead of it being one piece or being soldered. Because the water ran right through the two cracks there and right out on the floor. I've never seen anything like it. You can't imagine the nights I lie in the bed and worried about all of this. I’m elderly. And I had to have my tub taken out and put in a shower where I could walk in.

    Before I sold the house I owned a few miles from here in Tavares, I had a walk-in tub. They took out my tub that they installed when I moved there. A company put in my walk-in tub. My husband was sick at that time. I got it for him. That was a beautiful job. I was able to walk right in and put him in the tub that afternoon when they left. It was beautiful. But you can't hire somebody in a state like this, expecting these workers. They have no idea what they're doing. They think they do. I'm at a loss. I just shouldn't have got Safe Step. I just about had a heart attack. Of all that money I had to give them, and have them to put a shower door in there that the water would run right down through the cracks and run out on my fl

    They always had an excuse that everything was fine. “We don't have any trouble anywhere else.” Outside of that, there's my floor, just beat up and big pieces of tiles lying. I could pick up pieces as big as my hand. I called the flooring guy. He said, “We can match tile. We can put your whole floor in.” I had to. I don't live in a dump. It's a pretty house. And I can't have it looking like that. They take old women.

    I have never been so upset over anything. Many a nights I spent grieving myself that I spent this kind of money that I couldn't afford and let them do that. But if I could use it, I would pay that. But I thought they would do where I could use it. I couldn't even use that shower until they came out once and caulked down at the bottom of that so the water wouldn't run out. But that wasn't good enough. I got in there myself later on. I had to do the caulking, but you don't caulk something like that. What you do is have one piece of metal that bends. And they got it fixed where no water could get in.

    I’ve told other people that were looking at putting in a shower that we used Safe Step and we love everything about it, from the person who told us about it in detail, it was just like he said, to the installer. They were all so nice. And everything was left clean. My son looked at several companies that do all these walk-in showers. We were impressed with Safe Step. We were impressed with the rep all over. He was very thorough, detailed, and friendly. He found out my husband had this issue. He said a prayer for him.

    The installers came in. They put cloths on the carpet, coming into the door and all down the hallway and on the floor in the bathroom. They proceeded to take the existing tub while others were outside putting things together. When they went to put the bathroom together, they realized that the one side where you put your soap utilities and things would not fit. So, they tried different ways. And they gave us a decision to do. We have to either put that particular corner wall unit, on the side where the chair should have gone. We decided we would give up on the chair because we didn't want that. It has worked perfectly. And we just keep the little stool that we had bought my husband in the bathroom. This has been wonderful.

    When we first got it, I thought I don't like the rainfall because I may not wanna wash my hair. But I love the other little one. I use it all the time. That works out good for me. It also works good for my husband, because we put him on a stool in there and I could take that handheld one and rinse him off. I don't have to climb over in the tub and I can just walk in, because I have knee issues as well. That's the best for me. We are enjoying it.

    The only downfall that we have that I can't figure out is sometimes that shower curtain does not always stay. There's only a bit of lift there and the curtain doesn't always stay. So, I told my son, “It seems like this should be magnetized and we fit the inside.” I looked to see if I could do that. That didn't work. He said, “That does not work.” I said, “Okay then. It must be weighted then.” So, he will look for something to try to make it heavier so it can stay down in there. That's the only negative thing. But we work around that too.

    My boyfriend had his knee replaced and if he wanted to use my bathtub, I had a clawfoot, and he had to sit on a bucket inside my bathtub so he could get up and get out. So, by that time, Safe Step had already installed the walk-in shower. I've had some issues since the installation. I wasn't mad at the salesperson. It's just they did not have the doors when they came to install the shower. They said they'd have them in a couple weeks and that they would put in the grab bars whenever they brought the shower doors. I had specifically told them, “Listen, my boyfriend will be back from Maine on the 1st of October. I need to have the grab bars in and the doors up.”

    The gentleman who had sold it to me kept calling, and nobody would respond. Nobody would call me back. The salesperson did, but nobody in scheduling did. So, I was like, “If you guys don't get ahold of me, I'm going to the magistrates' court. They may not be able to do anything, but at least you're gonna have to at least speak to me.” The salesperson said, “Let me call them one more time.” They called me the very next morning and said they were on their way, except I was on my way to the dealership because I had no idea that they were gonna come the next day. Then on their way here, they found out the doors were broken and they had to order new ones. So, I still don't have my doors. I love the shower. I'm very pleased with it.     The sales experience was excellent. The sales person talked to me right into the sale on his first visit. He recommended what needed to be done. He wanted to charge me $12,000. He gave me four days to cancel. In a couple of days, I decided $12,000 was more money than I could afford to spend. So I called back and told him, "Yeah, okay. We can do this, but I can only spend $10,000." Then he said, fine. He did a good job. But the installation was unsatisfactory.

    The installer didn't do a good job. There was a lot of muscle getting my old tub out of the bathroom and taking the tile off the walls. They got all of that taken care of. But the detail was poor. He caulked everything. He had great huge hands and fingers. But the caulk is awful. Now that it's over with and I see the final product, I overpaid. I'm positive the $10,000 I paid was more money than I should have been charged. The seating is fine. But the shower sprayer didn't have any pressure to it at all. That was easy for me to fix. They took off the shower spray we had been using for several years and we kept it. So I just took theirs off and put ours back on. Then all of a sudden, we've got good pressure now. But the overall quality is poor.

    Now that I've spent the 10 grand, there should have been some extra things that were included with the package to make this more desirable shower. Safe Step has some other features that the sales person could have included. It would have cost Safe Step another 500 bucks. But I would have had a much more desirable shower.

They did all right with the installation and they told me to just go ahead and go to Lowe’s to put my glass shower doors in because they couldn’t really do it.     Safe Step did a very nice shower. You step right into it and you're right at floor level for the most part. I feel very comfortable. It's an non-slip floor. There's also a big safety bar on the side. One's vertical and one's horizontal. There's one next to the shower. When you get in or while you're showering, you can grab onto it. There's also one back by the seat. I noticed in some that I see advertised that they only have one bar in the tub. But Safe Step has four on this one. The shower itself doesn't come bursting out. It's like rainfall. It’s soft and it’s very easy afterwards to wipe down and clean up. There doesn't seem to be a lot of work to it. It's an attractive piece of work and I like it. I might have gotten something cheaper, but it wouldn't have some of the other features that this one does.

    There was only one thing that happened but that wasn't their fault. When I ordered it, it was supposed to be in a certain period of time. I waited then they called me and said that when the truck came in with my stuff on it, it had been broken, so they had to reorder it. I had to wait a while. But when they came in, they did exactly what they said they would do. When they put it in, I couldn't believe it. When they got through, there wasn't anything else to do. I didn't need a carpenter or a painter. There was nothing torn up and they didn't make any mess.

    We wanted something that would be nice and what we felt we needed at this stage in our life, but we did not want anything extravagant. We went with Safe Step and everything was very well done. The installation took a day though they came back the next day for a few extra things. One was some sealer that we felt should have been around the connection on the wall so that water wouldn't get behind it.

    I had wanted the handheld douche, and I've enjoyed that. We have another attachment on the wall on the right so that we can hang it there for convenience to get to it. When you're not holding it, you can hang it overhead or on the right wall, which is convenient. That way, it's accessible either way. The floor has a safe feeling to your feet, with a little pebble effect of the way that the floor is designed. It's not smooth and slick. It's designed so that your feet will not slip. But my husband had noticed that the floor of it was not as stable when you step on it. There was supposed to be a support under there that was guaranteed, that it was very stable when you step on it. Other than that, we are pleased. This is very basic but very attractive at the same time. Our son also requested more than usual like the handheld bars when you come in to support.

    The rep came out and showed us some brochures. We looked at the space and I wasn't sure they were gonna be able to do it. It’s an old house and it's a concrete slab home, which was gonna make it a little difficult and did make it difficult. But we talked that out and he did a lot of measurements and took pictures. He gave me some price quotes and we went from there.

    The installation was hard for them. They had to do more than they normally do. They removed two concrete walls and had to reroute the drain a little bit because the 2-inch pan of the shower where the shower is gonna go was 2 inches higher than they really wanted it to be. They couldn't do anything about it because it was part of the concrete slab. But they pulled it off. The shower is as it was advertised. It has a seat and it has a rain-type shower and a wand-type shower. It also has a way I can hook it to the piping and make it like a regular shower.

    I spoke to someone in March and they came out. We had a couple of issues. They ordered the shower and on the day they were gonna put it in it, the base broke, so they had to reorder it. Then when the time came to put it in, they came again. This time, when they took out the old shower, they saw that it wouldn't fit because there was a pipe going down where the shelf used to be. So, the base was too big. They had to custom order one. But the work guys were great both times.

    It's a very nice shower. I like the safety component. The floor is very, very non-slippery, so I haven't even put down a mat. The only problem is we had to shorten the width a little bit because of that pipe that was in there. So, it’s a little more narrow than it would have been by 6 inches. It would be nice to have it a little wider. But we just gotta move the shower. Overall, the price was fair. Safe Step took something off and made some reductions. It was fairly similar to something else of that quality. I liked that it was ADA-approved.

    I had called Safe Step and they came out. It was a younger guy and his price was way out of my lane. I told him I could pay him cash if he could come down some. He called somebody at the office and came down a little bit, but it still wasn't enough. It was still over $20,000. I was interviewing people I had on my list ‘cause I was comparing the prices. A guy come out and I liked his price. I could have paid him cash, but I paid him half-down and when he finished, I paid the rest. Sometime in June, Safe Step called and the rep was telling me about the great deal they were offering to people. I agreed for him to come out. But when he got through adding up the charges and telling me about my discount it was still over $13,000. I shouldn't have went with him because if I had went back with the company that put my tub in, I wouldn't have paid near that much.

    Safe Step sent two very young guys out. They weren't who I expected. They went in there in the bathroom and cut a little hole. It wasn't big enough to see what was wrong under the house, what was causing that floor to be like that in the bathroom. He put the stuff up then brought me the papers. I went in there to check and sure enough, they had put all the stuff on the wall, but there were so many gaps in it. I told them I was not signing anything till somebody come out here and see what they did.

    A guy came out and brought the young men back with him. They worked here about a half a day, much longer than they did the first time they came. They cleared it up a little bit, but I wasn't pleased with it. I just had to accept it. But I like to take my showers around there because I got more room than I did where my walk-in bath is at. I like the wall. It’s pretty. But I don't like the bath shower that they put up. With that kind of money, they could have put up a nicer shower than they did.

    We tried to get the walk-in tub and we were cleared for it. But all the salesman did was take pictures and not take any measurements. That was why we had the debacle of when they got there with the bathtub. When they showed up at the house to install it, it was too big and we couldn't get it into the bathroom. They talked about wanting to cut a hole in the wall but I was not gonna let them do any of that. The salesman should have done a little bit more to make sure. If he would have taken the measurements and got with the construction people, they would have been able to tell him, they were not gonna be able to do it.

    We canceled the order and got back with the salesman. We had him come back and talk to us about the shower and we ended up getting the shower instead. They could get that in because that comes in pieces. The installers were fantastic. They were really well-versed and knew what they were doing. It was a one-day installation and they did an excellent job. We were very happy with installation crew. I told my friends and my family how satisfied we are with the Sate Step shower and that it improved my wife's life in the use of it. She loves it. It also made the bathroom look a lot better.

    Our experience with the Safe Step rep went well. He caught my wife's ear. He convinced her. He answered all our questions to our satisfaction. The installation was fine too until the next day I found that I had a cracked toilet. I took care of it myself and then I sent them an invoice. They sent me a check for only the cost of the toilet, not the cost of the plumber. I called them and the rep promised me that the other half of the check for the plumber would be coming shortly. But my wife seems to be happy with the product.

    The installation was long, but Safe Step Walk-In Showers did a good job. The gentleman did a good job putting the shower in. I only got one problem with it and the gentleman that put it in is supposed to take care of it. When we slide your doors back and forth, they bang each other from the shower handles where you put your towels when you slide it by the other one. The installer got a spacer and put it in there, but it didn't work. He said he would see the manufacturer if there was anything else could be done. I want it fixed because it's monotonous. It has made my life a lot simpler because with the seat where I could sit down and wash my feet and legs, it made it a lot safer for me. And not having to step up high over a tub when I could just step into it made a big difference. I'm happy with it.

    My husband and I had talked about getting a Safe Step walk-in shower. But I have since lost my husband in August of last year. I'm 73 years old so I decided to have one put in for safety for myself because my daughter wouldn't let me take a shower unless she was here with me. The shower is fine, except I've done service calls. They gave me a number to call the service center. When they installed it, they missed some spots with filling it with caulking. It's got holes in it and I've been trying to get ahold of somebody to get them to come out to reseal it. I also have three spots that looks like I've got some air bubbles in it, and I'm afraid it's gonna get water in it.

    My shower's been in since the 25th of July but no one's got back in contact with me about coming out and doing a little service. But other than that, I love my walk-in shower. I have the handrails, and I've got a chair as well. It's what I wanted and it has helped me tremendously. I'm not afraid to shower without my daughter being in the house with me.

    Safe Step is the only one that covers the wall all the way up to the ceiling with its shield for the shower. The rest of them didn't seem to do that. And my house was built in 1946. The tile was old and needed to come out. So I needed something that was going to go to the ceiling. The sales rep was very polite and cordial and had newer material and covered it well. The installers did a good job. They came and kept busy the whole time. I got the walk-in shower because my husband and I are older, and getting in and out over the tub side was a problem so the easier entrance is the main thing. I like how the shower comes down and can be put in a holder next to the chair. It can be turned off while you're sitting in the chair without having to get up.     The guy who wrote up the order was good. We sat down and talked for a while while he was writing everything up. I explained that I might be getting some money from the VA to help me out with the payment, and I already applied for it. One of the reasons why is I'm a 100% disabled veteran. The gentleman who put the shower in had to sign a little piece of paperwork, and he did that for me as well.

    The guys who put in the Safe Step walk-in shower were nice, and they did a lot of nice jobs. When they finished, there was one guy who was scrubbing the path they used. I'm almost 75, and he was older. I said, "I'll do that," and he continued to do it. I needed a walk-in shower because I could barely make it across the bathtub.     Safe Step is good, reliable, and trustworthy. I also looked into other people that could put in the shower. It's just I've had some bad experience with handymen and some different services. For instance, with Lowe's, I was gonna have them install my French doors, and their customer service was awful. They were rude and I was so upset with them. That's one of the reasons I wouldn't choose them to put in a shower. I wanted somebody who was reputable and stood by their shower.

    I went with Safe Step and the installers did a great job. They were in and out and made sure that I was happy with the installation. My mother enjoys the walk-in shower. However, I didn't think about how she could reach the shampoo bottles and soap. She wishes she had was something for that. She has that railing to hold on to but there's nowhere close by that she can put her shampoo and soap because it's too high. Her arms can't reach it.     Safe Step said that if I bought the walk-in shower that day, they guaranteed everything for life for as long as I lived here. That meant a lot to me because we're getting ready to retire and so many times, things go wrong and you can't afford to have it fixed or have somebody come fix it for you. The sales rep was awesome. He knows his stuff. There wasn't anything he couldn't answer. He knew everything there was to tell us. There wasn't one question he didn't have the answer to.

    The sales rep put a rush on our order because I've been taking sink baths for so long. We weren't supposed to get it installed for six to eight weeks. Even on a rush, it was still supposed to be six to eight weeks. But we got it within three weeks. I texted him to thank him for that. The installers were very good. They were very polite and nice. They were very considerate of my home. It wasn't raining or muddy that day, but they still put down paper to walk on. When they were gonna be loud with the machine, they would let me know that it was gonna be loud. But they weren't loud.

    The installation was very nice. The installer cleaned up. There are a couple of marks on the wall, but I I can use a Magic Eraser and get that off. The shower was working fine. But I'm one of these people that like more pressure, so I slid the handheld part of that pole to where it would hit on my back and flipped it over to the handheld the last time I used it, but I still wasn't impressed with the pressure. I left it on the handheld part when I got out. When I went to get back in it again, I couldn't get hot water out of it but I've got hot water everywhere else in my house.

    We did troubleshooting and found out that it has to be something in the hardware with the handheld shower head. I called over the weekend and somebody called back on Tuesday but I have not had a chance to call them back. We need somebody out here as soon as possible. If somebody was wanting a high-pressure water thing, I don't think I could recommend Safe Step. But if the pressure issue isn't a problem for them, then it's great.

    We got a walk-in shower from Safe Step about a month ago. In general, the installation was great. There was one small hitch right upfront, which was that whoever came and gave us the estimate and signed us up didn't measure properly. The guys who came to put it in took one look at it and said, "This won't work because of the water pipe for the baseboard heating." So, they had to order the smaller base and that took two weeks to get done and come in. Then the crew came in. It just got put in. They have to build a nine-inch piece of wall to get around the water where the heating pipe was coming in.

    The only other thing that was an issue was to have a vertical grab bar put in. We have a window in that wall of the shower. So, they handled that fine but the grab bar was slightly longer than the wall. So, it would have hit the window. They just decided not to put it in instead of being a little bit creative and saying, "Well, and we're gonna put it in diagonally, so that we can put it in." So, that vertical grab bar is not there. At the time, they just said, “We can't do it.” I said, "All right. You can't do it, you can't do it." As we looked at it later, we said, "Well, gee. There are ways to deal with that.” They didn't bother taking them or thinking about them.

    Other than that, the shower is really nice. We use it all the time and we really love it. It's made a big impact on our lives because my wife is physically not doing as well as she could. She was having a lot of trouble getting into the tub. As a matter of fact, she was needing me to be there to help her into the tub and out of the tub when she showered or she would have to just sit on the lip and brace herself and then turn 180 degrees and then stand up again. It was very difficult for her. She was always afraid of slipping. All that is gone now. She just walks into the shower and we're fine.

    The installation team showed up at 8:30 in the morning, like promised. They took out the old shower and started measuring for the plumbing. They found out they were going to have to reroute the drain and the water lines. They ran the pipe down the wall underneath the seat then down through the floor. They also found out we had only insulation and studs so they had to put up support wood and green board. They put the Safe Step shower in and asked us where we wanted the handrails and the little niche that went into it. They showed us how everything worked and were gone at 4:30. They cleaned up after themselves and it's perfect. They did beautiful work. The shower is great. It's easy to get in and out of. The old shower had a seven-inch step to step over. This is so much easier to get in and out of. The only issue is the seat on the one end. When you put the seat down, the one end of it seems to be loose. We wonder if that's correct.

They walked around, went outside, and didn’t have all the parts. Didn’t have the pan, walls or faucets. So, I played with Safe Step until the 28th and they finally came in and put a pan and the wall. For 10 days, I didn't have any shower. Also, they were supposed to put a 32-inch pan in, but they put in a 30-inch. They did what they had to, but it's not right. I have disabled women living here. So, I'm not happy with Safe Step.

    I'm 80 and my husband's 85. We're both old and the shower that we had was you had to step into it and it wasn't safe for us. I had been seeing Safe Step on the TV advertised, and then we got a brochure through mail. So, we called the number on the brochure and a rep came out. He did a good job. He didn't have to sell us on anything. Our minds were made up. We already knew that we needed it. We got a walk-in shower and I love it.

    The installers were supposed to come on a certain day and they called the day before and said they were in town and they had finished the job. They also asked if they could come early? We said, "Sure." So, they came the first day around 2 o'clock and they worked till almost dark. They came back the next morning and finished it and we were well-pleased with it.

    The seat is the number one thing for me because I am very overweight and I had trouble washing under certain areas. I can sit in that chair and wash everything. So, the chair is the biggest feature. The handrails are the next features. There are handrails everywhere you turn. The only thing I wish is if they could get a door for it instead of a shower curtain, but I don't think they can do a door.

    I always feared taking a shower because I'd have to hold on with one hand because I was scared to stand in there. The Safe Step has impacted my life a lot. I feel very comfortable taking a shower. Before, I would say, "Oh, God, I gotta take a shower, but I dread it." This, I do not mind at all. It doesn't worry me a bit. I used to tell my husband, "I'm getting in the shower, so don't go out of the house in case I fall, where I can call you." And now, I don't usually even carry my phone in the bathroom where I'm at because it's got so many handrails to help you get in and help you get out and there's no step over. It's great.

    Safe Step's sales rep got some of my order wrong and I had to wait a day before they could finish off the installation. They had to go back to the shop since they had the wrong kind of siding on the inside of the shower. I wanted something smooth and I didn't want something that would catch dirt. Other than that, the installation was perfect. But I've not gotten used to my walk-in shower because I'm still wobbly and I'm a little afraid of it. I'd also like to know how the bars on the glass that slide back and forth are put on there. And I don't know if they're safe to use for catching you or not. Other than that, I've used the walk-in and it works well.

    Safe Step has a good product and I'd recommend it. Unfortunately, my father's been in the hospital for a little over a week. But the limited time he's been able to use it, it's been an improvement. The seat is very functional. The shower has at least two safety bars inside on the walls, front and side. Overall, it's a much safer shower for him. It has good features and is accessible. It also has more room in it. We can hang the showerhead down low near the seat, which is more convenient for him.

    I love my Safe Step walk-in shower. When I bought it, the sales rep who came out was very professional. I had plans on putting it on a different sport but he suggested that I do it upstairs here. I wanted to put it on the first floor but that would have required a lot more work and would have been a lot more expensive. So he told me what they could do for up here and I decided to go ahead with it. The installers got here at about 10:15 and left at a little bit after 5:00. They did a very good job and now, it's a lot easier to take a shower. They put everything where I figured it would be good and handy for me and it works out great. I would have liked to have a mirror on the one shower door like the one I had with my tub. But other than that, the quality of the walk-in is very good. The price was a little higher than I wanted to go, but it was reasonable. I was looking more for only about 10,000 but it cost me about 12,000.

    Safe Step has a very good design and I like some of the features that came with the shower. I like the shower head spray thing from up above. I also like having flexibility with the handheld. There's a nice arrangement for the grab bars and the seat too. I'm very happy with the shower. The one thing that I asked them about and they just left me without resolving was the handheld and the spray up above are wimpy. I like a nice, strong shower. Safe Step needs to do a better job of monitoring the people that they hook up with to do the work. They had to tear out a little closet in order to put this in. They left everything outside the shower in a mess.

    There are boards coming down from the attic that have nails sticking out. They left the upper part of the shower with the drywall and not sealed off at all. There's a crack joining spot between the wall of the shower and the ceiling. I question if having bare drywall in the ceiling is a good idea when you have all that moisture going on. They pulled up a lot of tile in order to put this in and to get the old tub out, but they just left it. I'm here with my tile floor that was here, which I may or may not wanna keep, but with jagged edges of the old tile and bare wood sticking up between where the tile stops. I asked them if they were going to do anything about it but they said no and that I would have to get somebody which shouldn't cost me more than $10,000. I spent already and presumed it was including finishing off the process.

    The way Safe Step started off with the price was they'd give you $1,200 off if you buy it and give you so many months to pay it off. But the guy that I was dealing with screwed me on a lot of things about the walk-in shower. He charged me $14,000 for what I got. It doesn't have anything in it but a sprinkler. I didn't get the one with the head spray. I also wanted the one that you can't see through. He told me the one that I wanted wouldn't fit because I had a window there. It cost me $1,800 to put in one of them heat windows.

    After the people installed the shower, I looked at it and told them that was not what I ordered. I called the boss about it a week ago and he said he was gonna speak to the guy about it but he still won’t give it to me without me paying for it. I'm dissatisfied. My wife and I are handicapped and it's not very comfortable for her. I didn't like the grab bars that they put in there for her to pull herself from the seat. They got to get another grab bar because the other one is too large. They came last week for that but I haven't got that yet.

    The young man that was the representative with Safe Step was extremely pleasant. He came to my house and we discussed it.     Safe Step was the only one that would bump in this area. Their sales rep did not tell me a lot of things that the shower has. I thought it was a two-piece tub or a shower. I came to find out it's four pieces. Also, it's caulked in every corner. The bad thing about it is it's only guaranteed for a year. I paid $11,000 for a shower that in a year's time, I'm gonna have to pay somebody to come and caulk it all over again. The man that sat in the chair didn't say a thing about that. He told me that it would be guaranteed for life. Then when the guys got done installing it, he said, "Oh, the caulking is only good for a year." There are four pieces and they're all caulked. That doesn't make sense to me.

    I’m not happy on the quality of work they did either. They had to come back to adjust the doors. Also, the drain is off-center. I asked them to replace it. He told me it’s got screws but it doesn’t have screws. It was glued on and they did it in the wrong place. They also put a hole in my wall in my other room, which I didn't notice until two weeks later. They put it right through my other wall.

    I didn't say a thing about it because I'm not happy with this shower. The handrails that they put on are fine, but in a year's time, I gotta pay a man to come and strip all the caulking and caulk it again. I also explicitly told the man that told me about the shower that this house is 50 years old. When I bought it, they did tell me it sags in the middle. I told the man about it and he said they’ll fix it. When I step in on the shower, it’s like it’s gonna give way because there’s a lot of air underneath it. They just picked it up on one end and screwed it in. Instead of putting something underneath the bottom the way it should be. I didn’t know that because I couldn’t use the thing for 24 hours.

    I'm very happy with Safe Step. They ordered everything I wanted exactly. They went out of the package that they normally offered for what I wanted and I got the price that I was willing to pay. He answered every question I had and was helpful all the way around. He asked me questions like where I wanted handle bars put and was the height right. Also, three of the people who came couldn't speak a word of English. That pissed me off. One guy finally understood what I said, but he didn't do anything about it.     The installation was very long. Two young men came at 9 o'clock in the morning and left 10:30 at night. A couple of times, I asked if everything was okay. Four hours into it, the walls were exposed and they said they should be done soon. But they were very pleasant. They took out a tub and doors so it was a little bit messy but they cleaned up well. The shower looks nice, but I'm not thrilled for what it cost me. It was 11,000 and I don't think it was worth the money. Some things are a little crooked and I would have been happier if they were more meticulous.

    The Safe Step rep was not pushy. He explained things, showed us other places that put in showers and compared prices. It was windy and cold when they did the installation and they were working outside but they kept going. The quality of work was excellent. The price is a little high but the shower fit right in perfectly. It came out a few more inches but there was room for it. It came with a bigger seat, the handle bars in the shower and another bar to bring the shower down. We like the handles because it makes it easier. One of us is in wheelchair, and it gives us a little more confidence to swing around and get in there. We had a bigger showerhead and this one is smaller which is the only downside to us. The man came back soon after we called and took out a valve that slows down the shower pressure. But it's still not as strong as our original showerhead.

    The guys that came to put it in was extremely nice. They finished in about eight hours. But I had water leaking out the shower when you take a shower. They gave us a shower curtain that was supposed to keep the water from coming out on the floor, but it doesn't work very good. I called them about putting the glass doors in, and the representative that came out said that we would have to do that on our own. I wasn't very happy about that.

    They're a little high on their prices, but I liked what they had and what they showed me. The sales rep did a good job. But the first crew who came in didn't do a good job. The installers put it together and they left a bunch of junk off of it. I took the first shower. I got in, the hole where they mounted the shower where the water comes out, that thing fell off the wall and hit my head and my foot. I called them in. They sent another guy down, he fixed it like it should have been. The walk-in shower helps a lot. I'm 83 and my wife's 82 and it's hard to get in a tub anymore. Plus, I got this cancer. Taking chemo has knocked me back too.

    The person that came out and did the presentation was very nice. I paid him in cash that day. He told me when they get it scheduled, the installation would only take a day. But it took longer than that and he never called me back. I had to call him for things that I didn't understand but he didn't know anything either. He was the first guy that came out when I called the number and that was when I found out Safe Step was stationed in Tennessee, and he was in Dallas. That was a problem for them because they didn't do what they said they was gonna do. I started to cancel, but I had given my money and they charged me too much.

    The first day that they came, the tub was the wrong size. It was too big, so they had to go back and get another tub. The next day, they brought the right tub, but they had the wrong size for the chair so that took another day. They told me they were gonna come back that Saturday. Nobody came so I had to call. Two days after that, a lady called me back. She was very upset when I called about the person not showing up. The next day, she called me back and told me that they would be sending somebody out the next day. A guy came and it took an hour for him to complete. I didn't like the mess I had to go through but I like the shower. The work is good when we finally got it finished.

    The presentation was neat. They showed the before and after pictures. The installation took all day. The installer didn't have the door so she had to go back up North of Jersey to get it. But the timing was good 'cause I thought it would take at least two days. However, I never thought it was that expensive. The shower nice, but there are a lot of kinks in it. The whole door shakes. It's not steady. My old shower didn't do that. Also, the door doesn't close up to the wall, to the other side of the shower. Safe Step sent a young man out. He claimed it got fixed, but it's not fixed. He claimed the floor is uneven but they didn't tell me that beforehand. Additionally, the showerhead seems to be so far up. I'm 5'9" but I can hardly reach the thing. An instruction book would have been good because I don't know how to move it.

    We had our tub installed a week ago. The tub is great. My wife loves it. Our only issue is with the shower. Water from the shower runs off the front left corner and the back right corner. This is the door side naturally. The tub top is flat there. There needs to be a lip around the door side edges at the front and behind the seat to direct shower water back to the tub. When she got out of the tub the floor was soaked. This came with a curtain that goes about 8 to 10" below the side but does protect where water can hit the the front and back wall. You can tell by the picture.

    We love our Safe Step shower. It's very nice. The sales rep was very good. He's very patient and he explained everything to us and showed us everything we needed to know. We picked the best one that we could afford, and we're really pleased with it. The installers were very good, too. They came in, got their work done, got everything cleaned up, and when they left, you wouldn't have known they were here except for the shower sitting in the bathroom.

    We got the basic one with the two bars that you could hold on and the extended showerhead that you can move around and a chair so we could stand up or sit down when we bathe. I have to hold on to something. If I take one foot off the ground and get into a tub, it's not really good for me. So, walking in, sitting on the chair, and turning the shower on is the best thing. I just wish it was a little cheap. I was hoping we could get something with Medicare, but they don't work with them. It could have saved us a little.

    I was a satisfied customer to start with. But I wouldn't recommend Safe Step Walk-In Showers again. We are second consumers. We had a tub in Massachusetts, and we had the one here. My husband got disabled and we needed to put in a shower that he could get into. So, we had the contract since November. We finally got the shower two weeks ago. They still haven't reconnected my tub, and I'm past pissed. They will show up tomorrow. And if they don't, I'm not gonna be happy.

    The first time, we had dates they were supposed to be show up 10 weeks after we finished the contract. The day before, they were supposed to show up. They called and said they wanted more money, and we said no. There was no reason for more money. We had the contract. We've done everything we're supposed to do. Our salesman has done as much as he possibly could. He ended up bringing the contract with him, and they did a bunch of work in there. They finally showed up three weeks ago to put the shower in. And they decided they needed more parts before they could put it in.

    They said they would show up tomorrow, but they haven't gotten back to me. I talked to James, the man that's in charge of that kind of thing, on Monday. He promised he would call me on Tuesday. I haven't heard from him. And the only way I got to talk to him on the Friday before was to call and threaten somebody if I didn't get some answers. And they got him on the phone.

    I just had a Safe Step tub installed last week with the shower option. I elected to get the glass shower doors but here is my problem, the shower doors only cover half the length of the tub and I find there is spray going beyond the parts where there is no glass and soaking the floor. First, is it just me or have others had the problem? Does safe step provide a way to increase the glass coverage of the shower doors beyond half? I guess I will have to call and inquire. Otherwise, I am quite pleased with the tub and the installers were good.

    The guy came out right away and presented what Safe Step had. He was very informative and asked for any questions, and it was quite comfortable. We live in a log cabin and things were a little goofy. So, the installers couldn’t use the original size that they had figured on and had to get one of the bottom pieces. And they cut one of the lines to one of our lights. But they were able to fix it and made that all right. So, that was scary because living in a log home, the wires go through the logs themselves and it’s very different. The walk-in shower was a little pricier than we figured but we decided it was worth it because the units that you get at Lowe's, just fit in and if that problem had been with the floor having to be smaller, we would have had to get a smaller unit, it would have just been a mess.

    The walk-in shower looked very nice when the installation was done. It has the rain shower and a handheld unit that you can adjust all along a bar to make it higher or lower or take it off. It has a seat that folds out of the way or folds down that also has arms, which make it easy for my husband to get up. It has grab bars in the center of the back wall and also one to use when getting out of the shower. My husband loves it. I would recommend Safe Step.

    The installers took out the old tub and installed the new walk-in shower. They did well though when they put the gout or the caulk around it, they could have gone a little bit thicker and smoother. Safe Step was gonna send a cleaning pack that you clean the shower with but I misunderstood. Somebody said yes and some said no and I wanna verify.

    We had a very nice, young man that came and put our Safe Step shower in. However, he did not put the handles for us. My husband's coming up on 84 and I just turned 80. I'm 5 ft tall, and my husband is 5'2. We can't reach the showerhead. We haven't been able to get my husband in the shower yet because he doesn't trust it. It's great having that seat. But when you sit in the seat, you can't get the showerhead to reach you so you're not getting any water. You have to get somebody to come and get it down for you.

    Before we had been able to get in it, they gave us a part that they were having complaints about. They gave us this plastic piece and you could put the showerhead in this piece. My daughter took the first shower and that worked great for her. But it fell off in the middle of the night. It has double-sided tape but won't stick after a day and a night. That piece just sits on the back of the toilet because we can't figure out any way to make it stay up there. We put it up twice and it fell once during the day. My bedroom's right across the hall from it, and it sounded like a bomb going off.

    They want $179 for labor to get that fixed and $80 for the handles. Safe Step said they were gonna call the young man that put the shower in and see if he would waive his labor to come down and straighten it out but we've never heard a word from him. Also, when they gave us the amount that we were gonna pay, I came up with $1,200 cash. I was also under the impression I would be making 10 payments of $104. Now, I find that the payments are $144. But we're happy with the shower. If we have to take five showers in one day to make sure it's where it should be, then we would then glue it with a glue that can't come off.

    I called Safe Step and when I finally got ahold of them, they sent a representative. He was great. He handled everything really great. He has been mighty nice to me. The installation team was perfect. The only problem there was me. They came on a holiday and I couldn't pay them exactly where they wanted to be paid, but they agreed to take a check until I can get the money in the bank. I had the money in a savings, but I didn't have it transferred over to a checking account. I had to wait until the bank opened up. When I got the money transferred, I called them back. I haven't heard anything yet, so I'm sure it's fine. As far as the shower, so far, it is fine. Any time you take an old tub out and put a shower in, you're gonna feel safer. Instead of a 2-ft step, you got a three-inch step. That makes a lot of difference.

    Safe Step Walk-In Showers came to talk to us about a walk-in tub. That was outrageous. We couldn't afford that. We told them that we were supposed to get a shower from the VA. And they said they could take care of it and it wouldn't cost us anything. So, we were pleased about that. We ended up getting a shower. The rep did a good job. Also, the installer was excellent.

    There was some confusion about we needed the shower to come out farther from the wall because there was about 8 or 10 inches that wasn't being used. And we thought that would give more space. And there was some confusion about the base of the shower. The rep told us it wouldn't cost us anything. And when it came right down to it, it would be $600 for it to be a custom size. But they absorbed that, so it all worked out. We love it.

    We got a small custom shower from Safe Step and they put the bars in for grabbing, the chair which is a big help, and then there's the adjustable showerhead that you can take down and put up in two different spots. Those are all good. We had to call Safe Step out twice because we had to do some construction in the shower, and that got muddled up, so we talked to the installation people a few times. Installation took a day. They came early and left in the late afternoon. They cleaned up, too.

    We had Safe Step install a shower with a tub. The rep that came out was a real nice gentleman. But some of the things that we thought that was gonna be with it didn't actually happen. For instance, when installing the shower, he told us they would put HardieBack to make sure everything was good and there was no leak. But they didn't do that. We got the three safety bars put in. My wife said the drain has started rusting. We didn't know it was gonna rust. But overall, the walk-in shower is worth it. I noticed the water temperature gets nice and warm like I want it. You got more room. You don't feel confined like you would be in a tub shower. It's simple and basic. We love it. So far, everything is holding up.

    We explained, more or less, what we wanted and the sales rep went through everything. He covered the things we wanted and need -- like the bars.     The Safe Step walk-in shower is easier to get in and out of but I ain't happy with it. It takes forever for it to drain. There was a bathtub in its place and it drained alright. The shower they put in is a lot lower in the floor. I called them three days after they got through with it but they didn't give me much help. The guy told me that I could flip the drain cover off, it just snapped on. That didn't help anything. Also, the doors on the shower were not adjusted to fit the wall jams. I took them out and re-adjusted those.

    I like the way Safe Step presented themselves as far as the safety and quality of their tub. The installation day was wonderful. The installers came in the morning and they left late afternoon.     Somebody came out and gave me an estimate, which we couldn't deal with. It was way too high. But I mentioned that I was a veteran and all of a sudden, Safe Step had a special deal with the VA, which worked out for us. The installers came out not exactly at the planned time. It was a little bit later. But they completed the installation over two days. The first thing they had to do was strip an old shower out and once they got the installation done, they checked the drain. They were having trouble with it so they had to snake the drain out to make sure it was flowing properly. And once they had done that, they finished up the job and everything worked fine. We love it.

    This walk-in shower was set up with bars because I’m handicapped and this serves my purpose very well. It's got a seat and handrails in it. I’m very pleased with the job. The convenience of it is the most important thing. Plus, the VA took care of part of the expense and we financed the rest of it. It was a very reasonable financing. If people need the type of work that we had done, they should do it and call Safe Step. They're easy to deal with and they have people you can talk to on the phone. You can get ahold of them right away. You don't sit on hold for an hour waiting to talk to someone.

    Steven, the sales rep, came out and did a wonderful job explaining everything. We talked about the Safe Step walk-in shower but then we talked about things in general. He was an overall nice person. He went to see my hot water heater and my electrical box. He was concerned about everything and I liked that. I have a 40-gallon hot water tank and he said it was fine but if I ever need another one, I should get a 50-gallon one. I've had a total knee replacement, which was the reason why I needed the walk-in shower and it was what I expected.

    The guy who installed the walk-in shower didn't leave a lot of things that he was supposed to. He also didn't put up the shower curtains. I called Steven and he contacted the guy who came back and corrected everything. So, Steven did a wonderful job throughout. He had been with Safe Step for about 30 years. But the installer left something off and I was gonna call Steven. I have had problems with the water coming out when I take a shower, which was what the installer was talking about, but I didn't want him to improvise.

    I ordered the shower in August and I had my knee replacement on the 13th. The guy on the phone said they were gonna put a rush on it but it was October before the installer came and installed it. I was on a lot of medication and when he told me that he was gonna improvise, I just said yes. I think it’s the height of the step-in, which is why the water is coming out. There are weights on the shower curtain and I got confused. I thought they were magnets but they weren't. They would stick to the sides of the walk-in so, I have to be very careful to make sure that they're in place because that's where the water comes out on the floor.

    The occupational therapist showed me how to get in and out because I didn't know that the arms of the chair fold back. I don't know if Safe Step was supposed to do that or not but I was foggy because I was in a lot of pain medication. I had a bathtub and I don't know what happened to it. I didn’t want it anyway. I was gonna ask them to carry it away but it didn’t come to mind at that particular time. I was happy that they didn't leave it here. One friend asked me who did the walk-in shower because he wanted some work done. My brother’s wife is handicapped and he asked me about it and who did it. So, I told him that Safe Step did it. He said he would give them a call. Another lady who's a friend of mine inquired about it too.

    I liked the way Safe Step's guy talked. He just told me what he could and would do, and that was what he did. But when we scheduled to put in the walk-in shower, I wound up in the hospital. It wasn't nothing on their end though, it was something on mine. Also, I got two dogs and luckily, I got a sliding glass to what it comes out to where the pool is at, and it goes back to the master bedroom. So they were able to go in and out and not disturb anything during the installation. They were barking and raising hell. But they couldn't get to the installers and couldn't bother them.

    All in all, Safe Step did a great job. I got a lifetime warranty on my walk-in shower and that was part of the package. I bought the supreme package and it wasn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. So far, I like the ability to get in and out of the tub with the handrails. If I was going to have one of the other bathrooms done, it would be with them. And I might get a walk-in tub put in in a couple of years or so while I'm still around.

    I'm very disappointed with Safe Step. It's not worth it. It’s plastic on a wall. I expected a lot more. They only tore half the walls down. They were done in a matter of hours, which was fine by me. I wanted to get it done. But it seemed so rushed. It's a nice-looking shower and the whole bit, but it's not worth $20,000.

    I called Safe Step and they sent out a representative. The rep who came out went down in the basement and made sure I had a gas hot water heater because electric doesn't heat as fast as gas. The installers were nice and polite. I thought they were gonna leave the shower doors behind, but they didn't. They took it all. But they told me they were gonna take all of the old tile out that was there and they didn't. They just covered it up but it's very cleanable. I don't have any problem with that. The doors also clean well. I thought it was an exorbitant price for what I received but I like the shower itself because I don't have the bathtub to deal with. The only problem is I have had leakage and I'm still experiencing leakage. The person that came out here told me that where it was leaking to was drywall and it's not. Where it's leaking is the bottom of a wood cupboard that's built on the end of the shower.

    The installers showed up pretty much exactly when they said they would. There were a total of three men who came, gathering a plumber and two helpers. They dismantled the old shower and proceeded very quickly. But based on what the salesman had said, we would be able to discuss with the installer exactly where we wanted the grip handles to go. I asked the installer’s plumber when he'd be doing that with us and he said they were not ready for that for quite a while. They proceeded to do the installation and not only did Sheetrock go up, but also the finished plastic surround type of thing. Then, he called me in to ask exactly where I wanted the grip handles to go and when I told him where, he said, “They can't go there. There's no two by fours there.” That was why I was of the impression that they were gonna be asking us that before they put up Sheetrock, so that if we wanted it someplace where there wasn't two by fours, they'd be adding two by fours.

    They asked what they could do to put the handles where I want them. I was told that we could have three or four handles but this gentleman said I could only have two. Then, in order to make it right, because he realized I had a point, he gave us a third handle and he put two handles at a location that ended up working out quite nicely, but in places that would have two by four backing to them. It worked out okay and they finished up the job and were out of there by three o'clock in the afternoon. I was not 100% happy but in general, I'm pretty much happy.

    It is a barrier-free shower and three-sided. It has three grab bars and one little shelf, which is all we asked for, in the corner. It also has the shower nozzle and to the side of the shower nozzle, a place to hold it so that it's wheelchair seat height. One of the things that I'm particularly unhappy with is when the salesman played it up, I thought we were getting some sort of deluxe shower curtain rod, shower curtain ring holders, and shower curtain liner. But the shoddy shower curtain rod holder came tumbling down on my head within a week and I never could get the thing to go back up and stay and the rings, you could buy them for $4 or less at Walmart and they really didn't roll very well nicely. I bought myself a new set.

    They did a really good job. Didn't take them long to install our Safe Step. They also cleaned up nicely and everything was perfect. I like the jets and the way the shower is.     The rep from Safe Step was very pleasant and honest. He showed and told me everything. Plus, he gave me pamphlets. I had a garden tub and it was extra wide so to get the walk-in shower to fit into the space from my carpet to the wall, the installers had to measure it differently than others. So, it took about a month before they could put it in. It was good and it was what they were expected to do. But I didn't have to say anything. They just did it and cleaned it up nicely after they got done. I love the shower. It's beautiful. It's got two safety bars and a chair. I use them because I have a bad back and I'm afraid I'm gonna fall. So, I'm very careful with it. I had a good experience with Safe Step. Every question was answered even before I asked them. It'd be a good place to start and I would show people my walk-in shower if they wanted to see it.

    The installation of our Safe Step went well. There was one installer and he said there was supposed to be another one, but he wasn't available at that time. He was very good. It took about a week since he was the only one and he did all these cutting outside, so we had no mess left at all. He also shut the door and tried to keep any of the stuff from floating into the other part of the house.

    The Safe Step reps were nice. However, they could have given me a few more bars where you could hold on to. I have two of them in there. Also, you have to be careful when you take a shower, in that little piece of shower curtain. I also thought the price was a little too high. My son said I could have gotten the tub with it. With 13 grand, I have the shower but I don't have the tub. Also inside, there's no place where I can hold my soap. I bought one and my son just stuck with the suction but it didn't hold. Other than that, it's good. I would recommend it to a friend.

    The installers drove a long way to get here and put our Safe Step shower in in one day, but it is not right. We've been trying to get something done since the day before Thanksgiving. They need to get another pan in the bottom of it. The part where you step into is too high. I gotta get in a wheelchair and they knew that. We made this clear to the person who sold us this that we had to have it level with the floor or just a little bit to keep the water out. The contract reads, one inch or less, but that has not happened.

    This one cost 16,000, and that's a lot of money to put in. I saved for that money for two years but I can't even get in it. I was looking forward to having a hot shower and doing my hair, but that's not been possible. I'm handicapped and old. My husband is old as well. He can't lift me in the chair, and the chair is not that big. They said they couldn't make it any bigger because it was against code. That's not true. If you don't mess with the lighting or the spigot, you're okay. They could have made it as big as we wanted to, but they didn't do that.

    I just had a guy from Kentucky come here. It took him four hours and a half to get here. He measured it, took pictures, went back home, another four and a half hours back. We've talked to people from all over the place. They listen then pass it on to somebody else then pass it on to somebody else again. We're waiting to hear from them. They seem very nice to talk to, but they've not followed up. You can't get ahold of them. It's hard to talk to them. They'll say leave a message and they'll call back, but they never call back.

    I wasn't too satisfied with the installation team from Safe Step. After you finish showering, the water starts going over one of the sides and you have to put extra towels up. It isn't even all the way. We had a glass door. But since we don't have a bathtub anymore, the glass door would have to go all the way down to the floor. I asked one of them about that, and the guy said that if anybody should fall, it would go right through it because they don't have the support if it was a tub under there. We'll have to get another thicker shower curtain and maybe that would help as far as with a lot of water coming off on one side.

    I'm really happy with Safe Step. Their salesman came out and everything worked out fine. He knew what I wanted and he seemed to have the situation in hand. The sales team was also pretty good about notifying me when they were going to come. They also came earlier than they were going to, so that worked out well. And they called me and asked me if it was okay and made sure everything was all right. I have trouble standing and sitting sometimes, especially in the shower, so they did everything they could to help me. They put in a seat that I needed that would support because I'm a heavy person and they did a wonderful job. One man did the installation and he was young, but he was very knowledgeable. He got it done really fast, then cleaned up after himself and made sure he didn't make too much mess when he was working on it.

    I really like the seat and they put it in a really nice nonslip floor, which is really important to me. Then, I have two showers in there. I have a handheld one and an overhead one. I switch between them by flipping the levers. They also put some safety grab bars in there that they did a real nice job on too. And they're really sturdy. Except for being a little expensive, the walk-in shower is really good. But with most of the people I've talked to, the price seemed fair.

    Safe Step set up an appointment for me, came out and looked at my bathroom so they could see where they were gonna put the walk-in shower. The reps were upfront with me. They talked real nice and step by step with the shower. The installers did a beautiful job. If anything's wrong, I call them up and they send somebody out. I had a little corner that wasn't filled in, so I called and they sent somebody out. However, I thought I was supposed to get a chair, but they told me that no chair comes with the shower. That ain't the picture I've seen on TV. I was upset because I didn't get my chair. Also, I thought they do the floors, but they said they don't. Now I gotta get somebody to come in and do my floor.

    The shower works well. The price is high but it’s well worth it. I love it. It's got more room inside when you take a shower. I love that big round thing over your head. I like the way the water comes down. I also like the sliding doors and what I picked out for them to put on the wall. I like the corner where you can put your lotion and bath stuff.

    I had some issues with the installers. One of them continually talked on the phone and I sort of got a little suspicious with him. He seemed like he was busy talking on the phone all the time he was working but he did a perfect job. Also, we're well happy with the shower. We like the seat and it helps us out. We also like the bars. We're able to get in the shower and not have to climb in that tub, which is about nearly impossible for us. The price was a little too high but it was a good job on it to have. We got excellent service.

    Safe Step did good work and they responded quickly. They sent somebody out to my house, had me go over everything with them, and even told me what to expect, and it happened accordingly. They did what they said they were gonna do. They told me that the VA covered the majority of the cost and, if I wanted a seat put in there, I'd have to pay that myself. It was 800-some dollars. I wanted a seat in there, so I paid the extra money and they put it in. I also like the limited warranty thing they got. If something happens to the product or material, they'll fix it for free.

    I had one problem when they were putting in the tub. The installer cut my line to the air conditioner. But they called an air conditioner guy out and repaired it before he sealed the tub back in. I'm more willing to take a shower now. I don't have to step over the tub and I don't have the fear of slipping. It's a shower where we can get into it even if we have to go in with a wheelchair. It also has that seat in it that I wanted because I need it because of my back and my legs and my wife needed it because she just got out of the hospital.

    The installers were good, other than the first trip they made and this was not their fault. The company where they were picking up all the supplies gave them the wrong stuff, and they found out when they opened the boxes and crates up here. Safe Step has now changed that. They told me that the installers are allowed to open the crates before they leave. The second visit the installers made, everything they brought was what I ordered.

    The installers were very polite, worked very hard and cleaned up after themselves. They did a marvelous job, and I like the bottom pan and the safety bars of the shower. I'm happy with that, and they worked with me to put them where I wanted them. Everything else was whatever, but overall, I'm satisfied. There were some issues in the beginning, but it got resolved. My only complaint was, I was told that everyone was an employee and that was not true. They're independent contractors, the salesman and the install staff included. If I had been told that in the beginning, it might not have made a difference because I worked my whole life as an independent contractor in engineering. I just don't like to be told something that is not a fact.

    The product that Safe Step offered for the same price as the two other companies I checked out was not as good. And during the negotiation, the salesperson was high pressure. But he was the last call I got that day and if I went with another company, I would have had to repeat the whole process over. I'm 80 years old and I was tired. Also, since I had to go out of town to meet the salespersons of the other companies, I went with them.

    During the installation, I spoke to the installers and I didn't have a problem with them. But I kept telling them that the shower is too high and one of them said that I have the extra shower, the handheld and a place to put it within the shower wall. But the other shower is also too high. They lowered it a little bit, but it's still too high. I also wish I had gotten the kind that has the bar that allows you to telescope the head down. In the end, they gave me two extra shelves and that was a result of the negotiating. But if I had to do it all over again now that I know what I know, it would be different. But that's not the installer's fault since they put it in exactly as it was ordered. Aside from that, if I had gone with American Standard, I could have gotten a much thicker product that had a nice marbled pattern in it. This is just white plastic.

    The sales rep came to see me one time and answered questions for the most part. Also, I did the loan and was approved, but I never received the other stuff that I reached out to her about. She never got me the paperwork with the different prices from what I was quoted between what I was charged. She was also supposed to send me a picture of a shower on what it would look like before I got it installed, as far as the differences between the colors and stuff that I had to choose from.

    I met the installers when they came, and they were good. I didn't have any issues, but I wish they would have told me that it was gonna be a lot of dust everywhere. I could have covered up my personal belongings, bath towels and clothes, so that I wouldn't have to wash those. Other than that, everything else was okay. The customer service with the installers was great, and I like the double-headed showers as well as the little grab bar. It helps a whole lot. The only issue I have with my shower is it leaks onto the floor. My shower wasn't wetting the floor, but now it does. I have to put a towel down to keep my floor from getting wet. Safe Step was pricey too, but I like the shower.

    Safe Step is a good company. The sales rep was really nice and had all the information. He walked us through how everything was gonna go, then the scheduler called us and everything went well from there. The installers were also really nice as well as very well-mannered and cleaned up all the mess. I didn't have to do anything. It was fantastic.

    I needed a seat for my dad 'cause he can't stand in the shower and he couldn't get over the bathtub. With the Safe Step walk-in shower, he likes having the seat and being able to sit in the shower. The only issue we've had is that there was supposed to be a slant so that the water didn't flood the floor and there's no slant on the Safe Step shower. So we have to put down a ton of towels in the bathroom whenever we're getting showers because the water goes out of the shower even with the shower curtain there.

    My wife loves the Safe Step walk-in shower. My wife has a problem getting in and out of the shower. She walks with a cane and I can't be right there behind her all the time. She figured that would be an easier way to take a shower and be safe about it. The sales rep was good and he gave a nice presentation. We like the bars for safety and the grit on the floor. We also don't have a big leap to step into or over. I've recommended them to different people. They are a little costly but it depends on what you want for your safety.     I had a spa in the home I'm in and it had an old raggedy shower in it, and I wanted to replace it. Safe Step Walk-In Showers was the second company I had come out to give me an estimate, and I went with them. They had it all under one. The first company I went with didn't do the doors. Another company would have to come and do the door. So, I said, "No. You ain't complete company, I don't need you."

    Safe Step's salesman came out and got all the measurements. The timeline for the installation was a little early, but I called him and he never returned my call when I was having issues when they showed up to put my shower in. He never called me back and I hadn't heard a word. The boys that came and did it were here at 8 o'clock in the morning. The youngest one let me know right off the bat how tired he was, and they wanted to get started. He had an attitude right off the bat.

    At one time, I told them to pack their crap up and get off my property. One of them never said a word. He was really nice. He was the one who did most of the work. They did a good job, but the young boy had an attitude from hell. It's a wrong thing when I'm paying and you show up at my place with an attitude. Still, they got it all done in one day. So far, I've had no issues with the product.

    When the rep never called me back, I called Safe Step and got ahold of one lady. I said, "You're not the one I need to talk to." She said, "Well, I'll get you the service manager." I said, "Well, put him or her on the phone." So, we got the problem handled. Evidently, she called him right off the bat. I don't know the conversation but he went out and got in the van. He still had a little snotty attitude, but he wouldn't say a word. The product was really expensive,and then I had to deal with one idiot when they showed up.

    I felt Safe Step Walk-In Showers' rep was like my brother. The short time that he was here, we got to know him and his family. He was professional and very helpful to my wife and I to be able to understand about the investment that we were making. The installer came in, introduced himself and his wife and crew, and they got started. My day was smooth. They were professional. They got in, they got it done. Any questions I needed to ask, they walked me through the installation from the time they cut the old tub out until they got ready to install the new shower. They let me know right before they did it what they were. I appreciated it.

    I called my brother when we got a chance to use the shower and told him I felt like getting out of a millionaire man's shower. Because looking at our bathroom and where our shower is now is different. We like it a lot. They did the walls. It blended in just like it has been there from day one. Also, the tub is easy to get in and out of. My wife and I are older and I'm disabled. That helps a lot because it was hard for me to get in and out the tub. But now, I slide the door back and step in, cut the shower on, step in, close the doors, take care of myself, and step out without even thinking about tripping or falling. That's what I love about it. The way they set it up is safe. We can go down the line and get us a chair, add it later on, but everything is safe and it's like we wanted it. My daughter and grandkids love it. We're very happy that we decided to go with Safe Step.

    I love my Safe Step walk-in shower. I feel safe in it. It's very refreshing and a lot of room, and a difference in what I had. The installers tore out the old one that was in there. They were well-gifted in knowing how to put that shower in. I would not have been able to. They put it in just like they've been doing it all their life and it was put in perfectly and not as cracked. I had the curtain put up, and it's very dependable and nice, and the water stays in. I have the bars and I love them. Also, the walls are very pretty and fitting. It has come in handy in a lot of ways.

    The installers didn't do too good of a job ‘cause the bottom of the shower, when I step on the middle, it sinks down, and then the caulking on the sides are coming off. Safe Step sent somebody to come and check it out, and he said that their people will have to redo the whole thing again, so someone is coming over on the 16th of February.

    We called a Safe Step representative. He came and presented the material. We were very pleased. My husband and I decided that that was the company we would use for our walk-in shower. We received some discounts too. My husband is a veteran. The price was a little overwhelming but we appreciated the convenience of having that done in six hours. We'd spoken to a local contractor about converting our tub and shower and it was gonna take him four weeks. When the installation crew arrived, they brought everything they needed to use. They installed, picked up every bit of trash and took all of the debris with them.

    Safe Step gave us the best deal. The rep's professionalism was great. He initially gave us one quote then called us back and told us he miscalculated the amount that we were gonna be out of pocket. He fixed it right away. We were supposed to have the installation on a Friday. We got a call on Wednesday and the guy said, "I finished my other job early and I was wondering if I could start yours early." They arrived around 2:00 and were out of here by 7:00 PM. When they came in, they did an assessment. They put down matting from the door to the bathroom. They pulled out the tub then started doing measurements and cutting and placing the shower. Periodically, I would ask if I could look and they let me look at the work that they'd done so far. It was fast. Their work is beautiful. I love it. They ran water to make sure there were no leaks. They cleaned up everything that they messed up before they left.

    The Safe Step rep came out and talked to me. Everything sounded good. He gave me all the discounts he could. He was very knowledgeable about the product. He was very professional in talking to me. I'm a person that questions everything. He didn't have a problem with that. It wasn't like he was here to do his job and get out the door. He took his time and was genuine.

    They did the installation on the promised date. There were three of them. They understood my needs 'cause I have a dog. They were very good about being around the dog. They tore out what was there and put in the new one. We discussed a couple options with things 'cause I needed stuff placed. I have some tall bottles in my shower and how they placed stuff where they would have normally placed it wouldn't have worked for me. They also installed two different grab handles for me. I also have a fold down chair. They were very considerate. They took care of protecting my floors. They cleaned up every bit of mess they made, explained to me how to wait for a minute 'cause silicone needed to dry, and how to clean and maintain it. They told me if I have any problems, to give them a call. The only weird thing that happened was I have a security system and while they were doing some drilling, they created smoke and set off my fire alarm.

    I feel safer with the Safe Step shower. I'm not scared to take a shower anymore. I was always afraid that I'd be stepping out and slip or I'd catch my foot and fall. I had Safe Step's standard tub shower combo. I've got two metal knees that work better, but not great. If I got into it, I couldn't get out of it. Having to step over that 15 inches to get into the shower was frightening. One of these days, I'm gonna move the toilet 'cause it's too close to the shower.

    I called Safe Step and they came out and gave me an estimate and I was ready to do it. The experience upfront was fine. It's the after-effect that was the problem. First off, they didn't bring the right color, and then the guy was already installing it when I noticed. I asked him where the gray was. He was putting up white. He said that they must have got it mixed up. He already had most of the panels up at that time. So, I told him to just leave it like that because he'd have to tow it all back out. He went on to put it in and he did a decent job of putting it in. But the next day, the bedroom was flooded. I had to pull a carpet up out of a closet. I called them and they sent somebody out to repair it. We had to cut the wall out on the other side of the tub because that was the only way to get to the pipe.

    I've called them a few times about coming and fixing the wall and they won't even call me back. We did the repair and the tub works fine. It's just that they make no effort to get back to me about anything. I got an email from them about sending a review, but I ain't one of the people who send reviews. I don't like to hear people complain that much, so I didn't say anything.

    I like our Safe Step shower. I'm satisfied with the features. The installer did a good job, but still, after I started seeing the installation as it was, there are things I didn't like. The glue was sloppy. There was a lot of glue on the glass itself and some on the floor, and I didn't like that. Also, the electric inside the wall was supposed to be in a junction box. I did peek at it from a closet next door to it and it's not in a box and that's a code failure there. She could have had a longer line and she could have run it from the tub itself to the basement and put a box into the power source, but she didn't do it that way. I'm happy with the product, but I'm not happy with some other things. As far as the price, 10,000 grand for a shower that takes them less than a day to install is a little excessive.

    The Safe Step product costs too much but it's worked. I need to get a shower door put in. I was going to try with just a shower curtain and that doesn't work too well. I need a shower door on it, but I need to find one that doesn't overlap too much. It's only 48 inches wide and most shower doors overlap about 10 inches in that situation. You don't have a lot of room to get in and out of the shower. I'm still looking for a shower that will work better without having the door so wide. I'm looking for a foldaway door instead of a slide-up door. I didn't expect Safe Step to have anything like that because they knew what the problem was, and that was why I went with the shower curtain instead of the door. Other than that, the installation was very nice, clear, and smooth. They did a nice job.

    It was a great experience with Safe Step except to the very end when they left our shower door off-track and we could not get the shower door closed. I called and left a message. The rep said she would pass it on to the installer and he would call. But he never called. A week later, I called back. The rep said that she had given it to someone else besides the installer, but he never called as well. My husband got it back on track. Also, on the book that they left us with the instructions, the picture in there to show you what knob operated what did not match the shower that we had. We've just had to come and learn what went where, what turned the water on, what made it hot. It costs too much but we both like the shower. We've been enjoying it once we got the books all worked out on it.
