    I am a small business owner who went through a nightmare with waste management for the same issues, so we went with Root, but their routes were bought out by Republic, little did I know that they are the same culprits (Waste Management) that I had contracted in the past year until now. So I am getting the same shoddy services, missed pickups, and excessive pickup charges. I called to inquire as to when our contract is up for renewal and they send me this nasty letter: “I understand that your company desires to terminate your agreement with RS, as we have been unable to resolve your concerns, if you consider your decision to terminate we are open to discuss renegotiation of the current terms, if you do not, I can offer the following:

    You can elect to terminate our agreement as specified in our contract by certified mail 60 days prior to expiration. We will accept liquidated damages in the amount of $591.00, along with 197.43 for services rendered and $108.00 for equipment removal. If you remove our equipment we charge a whopping $850.00 per container.” I have two. I must reply no later than Nov 30, 2018 or they will proceed with legal binding agreement with our company. Plus court cost and attorney’s fees, WHAT!!! Please don’t ever use this shady company. If you do you will remember me. Worst services ever crossed upon.

    Price kept going up and up and up every month or two. So I cancelled because we have plenty of trash companies to pick from. About a month later I get a bill for $43.52 so I called and they said, "Oh yeah, remember when we had to take our trash barrels back? Well we charged you $43.52 for that." WOW, what is that, more like a cancelation fee to me. And I had no contract.

    We have been a customer even before they changed their name back when they were called Allied Services (almost a total of 10 years). We never really had much trouble with the service during the Allied days. There were a few missed pick ups here and there. But, fees have gone up but we called them to price match competitors. They would do it for a period of time but still gradually increase them over time. A new company came into town advertising a non-changing rate. A good rate at that. So, we opted to go with the new company and cancel with Republic.

    We've been waiting almost a month for them to pick up their cans. We wanted to cancel our service in October but was told we couldn't until November. Our contract ended at the end of October. They were supposed to pick up the following week. It's Nov 26 and we still have the cans. We also received a $60 bill for removal of the cans ($30 a piece. This is property of the company and therefore is a cost of doing business. If you were to not return the cans the fee would be appropriate). We called Republic Services this morning to ask why we are being charged. Customer service rep was cordial. She stated that they would need to have management place a call back. We are waiting to see if we get that phone call. Will report back with their answer if we receive it. As well as the outcome.

    We have been using Republic Services since we moved here in 2005. I think they were WMI back then and Republic bought them. When we found out we were paying significantly more than our neighbors, they lowered our rates, saying they were lowering all WMI customer rates, but had not yet gotten around to us. Since then, most of our neighbors moved to other, less expensive companies.

    We stayed because our service and driver were so dependable and courteous. We were billed every three months. Last month we received a bill in between billing cycles for $45. I had no idea why so I called their 800-number. Whoever I spoke to said she didn’t know why either. Perhaps I had some large items picked up. She credited it. Image my surprise when next month I receive a bill that is $59 more than my usual bill. So I called and was told that was a price increase! Our bill doubled overnight? No warning, no notice. Sorry Republic. Your local service is wonderful. Your billing practices criminal.

    Missed so many recycle bin pickups, had to drop that. Then raised the trash pickup by $22 and started missing that. Then offered a reduced rate to keep me on, but lied and still charged the higher rate? They would function best, not as a trash collector, but as an example of how NOT to do business. The worst company I have ever dealt with.

    Have been a loyal customer for 18+ years. Today I received a bill for $128.95. Called customer service to inquire why the change. Told fees almost doubled since last quarter. I informed representative that I have a signed 3 year contract for $57 monthly x 3 years (contract signed 9/25/2017). Was told even contract fees went up. Really. Republic Services no wonder your company is losing business in my area to Whitetail. Requested a return call from Manager, but based on these reviews, I may never receive such call. Will jump ship and find an honest company that truly values their customers.

    I want to give 0 star. Even not 1 star. Always told you sales manager will contact you about your contract soon, but no one will call you. I called at least 5 times. And they charged container removal fee as much as they want. Not follow the contract. What's unbelievable thing is when I told them the fee was wrong, they do not check contract and correct it. Just send you to the collection department.

    Dealing with Republic Services has been a nightmare and the worst customer experience to say the least. Communication with their Billing Dept, their Customer Service Dept, and their customers is completely inadequate. The best way to get along with Republic Services is to have no dealings with them at all. Trying to make sense with them may take an emotional toll on you like it has on me. Unfortunately, there is no choice due to their monopoly in the state of Nevada. Early September 2018 I emailed Republic Services with a name change. Regrettably the person that processed the transaction disconnected my account and created a new account. Therefore, the payment services was applied to the old account. On October 17th I received a letter stating that my account was past Due. I have lived at the same residence for 21 years and have been a customer of Republic Services for over 30 years.

    In the last 90 days I have spoken with six (6) different customer service representatives (James, Loretta, Kirsten, Yvette, Kyle, Charles) and all give a different response. All I’m asking is for the credit of $51.56 on the old account to be refunded or applied to the new account. Here we are three months later, and I have received nothing and when I call the customer service representatives response is... "We are working on it." Worst customer experience and I feel like I was being belittled and bullied off the phone. I doubt I will ever see a refund from this company and unfortunately, there is no choice in the state of Nevada and stuck with a monopoly. Very disappointed in the way they treat their customers.

    We discontinued their service because they were always missing our trash and recycling on our designated pick up day. I called to discontinue service and it took them over a month to pick up the bins. They sat on the curb the ENTIRE time, but I was told by the company that someone did not see them. I called to get the removal service fee of $19.80 to pick up the bins (which is ridiculous) because it took so long for them to actually remove them. I was told the fee would be waived, but I have been getting a bill for the last 4 months. EVERY time I call, they say that the fee will be removed, but it never is. Beyond frustrating!!!

    I am moving and called Republic Services regarding last bill and pick-up of containers (2). Customer Service rep said final bill would be sent by mail and gave date to leave containers for pickup. Container pick-up missed. Customer service rep told me containers were not on curb which is not true. Rescheduled for pick-up. Asked for final bill to be sent to me for payment. This CS Rep said I would be charged if I did not return containers. Third phone call asking for final bill and to set up pick-up of containers. Pick-up scheduled and containers were picked up by Republic Services on another day than scheduled. I happened to be home and saw Republic pick-up truck. Computer notification regarding late payment and charge for container pick-up.

    Another call to customer service and was told there is always a charge for container pick-up as it is done by third party. I said Republic picked up containers and this was first time in 3 phone calls about this charge for pick-up. Told Customer Service Rep containers had Allied Waste name on from previous hauler that Republic bought out nine years ago. I never did get containers from Republic. Paid final garage bill for last month of service. Complaint sent to Better Business Bureau about this matter. Answer from Republic was it doesn't matter if containers were nine years old and had another hauler name and that everyone charges for pick-up. This company doesn't show any gratitude for nine years of business or that bills were paid on time. I am still trying to resolve issue.

    Moved into a new house. Being charged for garbage pick up. Cant get cans delivered, put out garbage. They do not take it because I do not have cans. Have now called 5 times since ordering service, still no cans! So garbage piling up since my request for service to start on the 6th. It is now the 15th. Still no action on their part being taken. Very frustrating.

    When started with Republic about 4 years ago, total bill was about $75. Since then, they have continuously increased their prices. Last bill was $165 total. ($95 service, plus $70 random fees!) I live in a large neighborhood and everyone reports totally different prices for the exact same service from $40-$165 total. They have on several occasions tried to throw in extra fees like bulk pickup that was never asked for or received. Most customer service reps have been rude and they never let me speak to a manager. Say they will have a manager call back and never do. This is the worst company ever to deal with!

    Just like everyone else on this site, across the country, Republic Trash is AWFUL! I am now on 3 weeks in a row of missed trash pickup with continuous excuses! Week 1 excuse: They said they are backed up on drivers for my Thursday pickup and will be out Friday, no show on Friday. Week 2 excuse: Missed trash pickup on Thursday due to cans not being out by the street (HMMM... my security cameras show my trash being put out the night before) and again no show on Friday. Week 3: I have canceled the service and they said they would pick the trash cans up on Thursday, again NO SHOW. Please just do yourself a favor and never contact them for any sort of service. I realize businesses mess up, however Republic does nothing to make it right.

    I will never EVER use them again. They lie to you. They made an error on my bill and I called to report it. Told them the 455 didn’t come out of my account like it was supposed to and I received a bill for 127. Apparently I spoke with someone from the call center in North Carolina. She told me it was an error on their part and to just pay the 127. That’s what I did. Then I got numerous bills saying we owed even more than the original amount. Threatened to turn me into a collection agency. Didn’t care that their people told me that. Tried to say she thought you already paid, which was bull.

    I told her they have a recording and that’s not true. She had access to my bill. I sent numerous emails that they didn’t respond to. I called one time and a guy pretty much called me a liar too. It wouldn’t have been an issue to have the 455 taken out at that time, but after you spend it and you have 5 kids, 2 in college, it’s a problem! Anyway, these people don’t know what they are doing! Go somewhere else with better customer service and billing!

    I've been a customer of Republic Services for the past decade. I stayed loyal and paid their higher fees as they were consistent over the years. (Although, I attribute the consistency mostly to the truck driver not the corporate folks whom I had to battle every 12-18 months as prices increased steadily). Most recently, they decided to exit out of the region and I received an invoice for more than 2x their quarterly rate. I tried to discuss the more than $300 quarterly bill, but pretty much told get lost, I canceled. They prorated my trash bill, $18.06, then charged me fuel recovery's and bin pickups... $75. Anyway, I paid it to rid myself of Republic Services and started with a new company WHITETAIL. They are very customer service oriented and I'm sorry I declined them in the past to stay loyal to the other "trash" guys. Good luck out there.

    Do not use Republic. Ripoff trash service. They raised bill by 60.00 a qtr. with no explanation. Forcing us to find new service company. They will lie to you about when they will come to retrieve the cans so they sit and block your property. Customer service is rude and condescending as well.

    Please look elsewhere for your trash service. Republic Services is dishonest and their customer service is horrible. We were loyal customers for nearly two decades and recently switched to Veteran Disposal (they've been awesome). We were considering switching over to Veteran because Republic adds so many bogus fees to each bill. When Republic ripped the lid off our container after a pick up and didn't do anything about it we decided to make the switch.

    When I called to cancel, I was never told about any container removal fee. We later received a bill for $40.31! They charged us: $24.20 for Container Removal, a $5.95 Administrative Fee, and a $10.16 Fuel Recovery Fee. This is all just for picking up one container that they broke. Unbelievable as we'd recently paid those last two fraudulent fees on our last bill for a month that we didn't even receive. Fuel recovery? Do they refund us any of that when gas prices go down... of course not. It's unethical really.

    I called and was treated very rudely. I was told that those were the fees and I'd have to pay them. She acted like it's completely reasonable to charge $40.31 to pick up a container! And, they never informed me of any fee for doing so. I asked to speak to someone else and finally got the last two charges taken off. But still... totally rude and charged $24.20 to loyal customers for 18 years.

    Set up auto pay with Republic Services. Auto pay didn't take my payment. Received a late charge. Turned off auto pay, paid the payment in full, including the late fee. Yesterday auto pay helped themselves to my money, costing me a NSF fee from the bank. Called Republic, they won't give me my money back, only credit on my bill, assuming that I'm the type of person that will just bend over and take it. Zero stars.

    Consistently miss garbage pick-up on scheduled days. Customer service reps are rude and not helpful. Poor service all around. If they miss your pick up on the scheduled date it's your responsibility to call them the same day so that maybe your garbage will be picked up the next day. They missed my pick up day on Thursday (no rain or snow) but because I came home late from work and was not able to call customer service the same day, my garbage won't be picked up until Monday. I did not know that I had to stand outside next to my garbage can waiting to make sure they do their job...

    If you have an alternative, DONT GET REPUBLIC. They routinely don’t show up on the day we’re scheduled for. When we call, they apologize, say they’ll make sure our pick up is on the correct day next week, then it happens again. We’re now on our 4th week IN A ROW of our trash not being picked up. Additionally, the local office only answers the phone about 10% of the time. We got ahold of corporate to discuss and were met with an incredibly rude reply. There is a huge disconnect between what the local and corporate offices told us. This company just seems like a hot mess! Save yourself the headache!

    I have had numerous issues with this company. I have called and complained a couple of times but the response has been disbelief in what I am telling them and a generic sorry. Issue #1 The drivers have a lazy attitude, if for some reason your can is even slightly difficult to get to they just leave the can full. Issue #2 On SEVERAL accounts they have taken both the TRASH and Recycle at once into the same truck... How is that going to get recycled if it's mixed with trash? Issue #3 Often times I and my neighbors have to pick up spilled trash. Sometimes it's a few pieces, sometimes it's a lot of trash. Issue #4 Sometimes they knock the cans over and just leave it knocked over, and they leave our cans in the middle of the street, so whoever comes home first has to park in the middle of the street and move all the cans so they can make it to their driveway! I think they need to be held accountable.

    I called to cancel my service right after moving, but the call was not handled correctly. I was billed again. When I called again they say it has been too long since I moved, I need to prove that I did not live there the past several months. The person answered the call earlier obviously made mistake, the person answered the call later was rude and blamed me for the problem. They certainly have no incentive to stop the billing, and no apologies for their mistake.

    I received a notice in the mail with a current and past due balance on an account in my name. I don't have an account with Republic Services. No help when I contacted them. I had to contact my town offices for proof that the town picked up my garbage before Republic would remove my info from their records. I still don't know how the hell they are able to set up an account in my name without my knowledge or approval. Spoke with the same representative from Republic both times (she gave two different names). Reporting them.

    I switched a month ago due to a high increase in charges. I call every week to request the recycle and trash can get picked up, the cans have even sitting by our curb for a month and neighbors not appreciating it. I was told on Oct. 26 the cans would be picked up, today Oct. 30 told it will be Nov. 6, over a month to get cans removed.

    $60 to deliver 3 cans, and for 2 months, they never picked up the yard waste one. Every call to them was met with silky voices saying how sorry they were and they would get that corrected and it never, ever, happened. The manager that was supposed to come and look at the yard waste and tell me why the truck wouldn't pick it up never showed. Finally, I stopped service. Now they want another $32.00 on the closed account for picking up their cans the final time. NO mention of this charge upfront or for any other way to avoid it. While this company was great in Shelbyville, KY, it is the worst "service" ever here in Louisville. I wish I had read these reviews before contracting with them here.

    They charged me $55 to remove containers and didn't bother to mention these charges when canceling while I had option to drop containers my own which they told me now. Poor customer service. Careful with this company. They will charge you something hidden one way or other.

    I paid for trash service and rental on two large dumpsters. One for recycling one for trash. When I called to cancel the account because I had moved, I requested the containers be picked up. I was then hit with a bill for $78 just for this removal. I never agreed to pay this either verbally or in writing nor was I ever informed of this so-called pickup fee. When I called and spoke to two different customer service associates they were rude and gave me lots of attitude and basically told me it was similar to having cable or dish and having to return the Box. I informed them that when I do that they provide me with a postpaid box they don't charge me to return it. When I asked to speak to their supervisor they denied any such person was available but said they would put in request for such a person to call me in the next 48 hours. Sketchy operation and a complete rip-off.

    We telephoned, four times, to schedule a bulk pickup to no avail. Each time, we were given a reference number as proof of the order. The third time, the operator informed us that she called the dispatch directly to ensure our pickup for the same day. After the fourth phone call, we decided to write a poor review to caution others regarding the bulk pickup department. Per Republic Services request, the bulk items are sitting curbside- a nuisance to our neighbors. This bad experience has really decreased our quality of life.

    I moved to this house in Bucks County Pa in May, was told by my neighbors they used Republic Services for garbage and recycle pick up. Called them and was told my senior rate would be $62 per month. I am on a dead end road and they said they would use a pub style truck as the big trucks could not easily turn around here. Received my first two bills paid them and then did not receive a bill until today which was $800. Thought it must be a mistake but turns out they arbitrarily without any written or notice of any kind raised mine and my neighbors' rates to over $600 per quarter or over $200 per month for a 350% increase. All I got was apologies from Republic and essentially they are telling us that they really don't want to service our road so the increase is intended to get us to discontinue their service or pay through the nose. Crappy company with a crappy business practice.

    I am a small business owner that started using Republic in 2014. Some tips to know as a business owner, they renew your contract for two years without telling you, which is unethical and against Illinois state law. However, when I tried to cancel the contract they have been giving me the runaround since June 6th. It's October now, 4 months. I elevated to a manager and he leaves me voicemails in the evenings and doesn't return my voicemails. I have been emailing a customer service rep as well that seems to just have some sort of script she uses to respond.

    It has been unbelievably frustrating working with these people. I highly suggest you look into other companies to use for garbage removal. Independent Garbage Removal in Chicago doesn't auto renew contract or even require a term. Today, I attempted to email again requesting they cancel the contract. I also copied in the president of the company Don Slager, but I am seriously guessing on his email address based on how they create their addresses. No one will give me his contact information to elevate this issue.

    In June we tried to use their bulk pick up. Trash pickup had been great. It never worked. It was so horrible we had the police called on us. They ignored our complaints to customer service. The officer said "Republic can't be like that I worked for them". What!?? Don't you understand conflict of interest??? So this guy that said he was a supervisor called after a hundred hours on hold for customer service. His name was Dale. He supposedly is supervisor for Cheyenne Department Las Vegas. He was nice. Two months later this guy did nothing but give excuses and empty promises. I will be taking them to court and will never use this awful company again. What is the CEO doing??? Hanging out on a boat getting drunk. Such a nightmare.

    This company is ridiculous. The individuals for the service in the area that I lived provided adequate service. However, while attempting to cease business with the corporate side, since the beginning of July, this company has seriously showed its **. Almost 4 months into requesting to cease this service, due to relocation, I am still receiving invoices. To start service, I called and requested a container for my residence in Canyon, TX. The container was promptly delivered and serviced weekly, as per contract. Since relocating to Florida, I have had tremendous difficulty canceling my service.

    After 3 monthly calls requesting to stop service, I was finally contacted with a supervisor who could access my call history and clear these erroneous charges. This month, I received an invoice charging me $150 for container removal. The residence which I lived was sold only 3 weeks after moving and the container was being used, I am quite sure. The service continues to request payment for container removal at a residence which I don't even live.

    I have had frequent missed pickups for the past couple of years. The final straw was this week. Missed pick up this past Wednesday. Called Republic and they could not send a truck back until this past Friday. I called Thursday to confirm. I called Friday morning to confirm. They did not come! Called Friday evening and they can't send a truck out until Tuesday. I have canceled my account. My new carrier will actually be less expensive.

    I've had Republic Services as my garbage and recycle service for almost two years. During this time, there have been numerous missed pickups. I'd estimate several dozen times during this 21 month period but probably more. The excuse from Customer Service is always "truck broke down" or "driver out sick." I really don't know why Hillsborough County Florida contracts with this company with such poor performance. It's probably the lowest bidder would be my guess.

    I sold my home on September 4th of this year and called Republic to cancel service and request a refund since I paid for the entire year and was leaving a quarter early (since you pay for 3 months each billing cycle). The woman on the phone said that she could credit my account but that they couldn’t get me an actual refund. I told her that was no good since I moved out of republics service area so I needed an actual refund. She then reluctantly told me she would have to submit a request for a refund and it would have to be reviewed. I told her that was fine and asked if they would contact me when they reviewed it and she said yes.

    Here we are a month later and I received a bill in the mail at my new address from Republic with the city ordinances attached stating that I have to pay for trash services. Honestly I was a little irritated because it was such an ordeal talking to them the first time I didn’t want to call again. When I called back, the woman I talked to said that my account was never closed, just the refund request was sent. She said she was going to close the account and refund the account back to a zero balance. So I asked her if they would be sending me a check and she said very rudely “I just told you I am closing your account and refunding it back to a zero balance.     Ok, then I understood what she was trying to say in that regard, but then I asked if she was submitting the refund request as well from the extra payment that was made and she said yet again, still very rude “I just said I am refunding your account and closing it. I will give you your case number.” Still confused, I didn’t want to ask anymore questions. I felt like I was being belittled and bullied off the phone. I doubt I will ever see a refund from this company and I hope to never have to deal with them again. Very disappointed in the way they treat people.

    Low quality trash services. Previously was informed that they would dispose of trash that was also in personal containers as well as theirs, but they refuse to. Also, a sign was left on top of my trash bin and they refused to dispose of it because it didn’t fit inside the bin. Instead they rudely threw it into my yard on my flower bed. It flattened my flowers. If I’m paying for trash service, it’s appreciated to have trash exposed of. There are two people in my home, so we don’t have an abundance and even if I did, I’m paying for them to dispose of waste. They are over particular and do not have good customer service. If you have other trash service options, I would choose Republic last. I’m going to look elsewhere, even if it did cost a little more. Look at all the other reviews - this company is very low quality. Save yourself the trouble.

    Multiple times of no pickup. Tried to get pickup of large yard waste. Customer Service wouldn’t respond to email requests for information. Tried to stop service via email, but they don’t accept that because they have to “verify” the account holder by asking my name. Conveniently, if you call after the 1st day of the month to cancel, they still charge you til the end of the month. Horrible experience. Will never utilize their services again.

    I’ve been paying a little over $90 per quarter to Republic. In fairness, the pickup service was fine but when a competitor offered service for $55 per quarter, I took it. This was mid August 2018 and Republic’s service was canceled effective 31 August 2018. At that time I was paid through 30 September 2018. Republic offered to lower my quarterly bill from $93 to $66 if I didn’t cancel the service which I took as an admission of overcharging up to that time? I still canceled the service and had a refund for one month due me... I thought... silly me. Instead of a refund I got a bill as “fees” I’d never heard of started appearing, seemingly Willy-Nilly until the entire one month refund was gone plus some!

    Phone calls revealed that, among other things, Republic charges customers $5.95 per billing cycle for them to TAKE YOUR PAYMENT. Plus there was a $28 charge to pick up THEIR can (and I learned, there had been a similar charge to deliver it). There was another charge in there as well which I don’t recall because by this time I was too aggravated to care; I just wanted done with them! Finally, their service isn’t bad but if you choose to deal with them I strongly suggest you get every charge (including closing charges) in writing upfront and don’t be surprised if monthly charges, after service begins, doesn’t increase dramatically and for no apparent reason. For myself, I feel I’ve literally been extorted and I’m most happy to be done with Republic Services!

    I set up service with Republic in November 2017 because we used them in California and the service was outstanding. I reside in Watkinsville, GA. The garbage pick up has been missed a least three times recently. I called and they were supposed to come the following day (on the most recent miss, September 27, 2018). They never showed. I called customer service today (October 1, 2018) to investigate and decided to just cancel my service. I was quoted $24.70 to pick up garbage can, and $29.70 to pick up recycling can. I was NEVER informed about these fees when I signed up for service. I feel very misled and can't believe this is legal. I would encourage anyone to use any service other than Republic in this geographical area.

    We signed up for them because we received an offer for $32 quarterly. We had to beg them for a week to deliver the trash cans to us. Had them for a month and they never picked up once. We had trash sitting out at the curb for weeks. Twice our old company took the trash but Republic never did. They overcharged us and when we told them that we wanted to cancel service they had a bill for two months of services that we never received.

    For no reason my container was picked up. I walked out with my trash and it was gone. I pulled up my account and my account was closed. I called Republic and asked what was going on. They pulled up my account and said it was close. I said, "I know. That's why I'm calling." They said it doesn't list a reason. I told them my account was paid on time. In fact it was paid 30 days early. Not one time did they apologize. I asked them to bring my container back. They said that it would be brought back the next day. Well it never came. I called them back and they say it will be a week before I get it back. I said why. It was taken for no reason. I talked to a supervisor. She said she would check with that dept and call me back. Never got a call back. Terrible company. They don't care about their customers and make it seem like it's your fault. My acct was paid in full. But they took my container for no reason and they could care less. Wait a week we don't care.

    I had the unfortunate privilege to sign a contract with this company to pick up my trash and yard waste. I had no problems for about the first 9 months and after signing the contract my service went downhill. I made repeated calls to the company to have my yard waste picked up and after five days it is still sitting in front of my home. It seems that the workers are trained to say the same thing, "we will be there today" and they never show up. I canceled my service today knowing that I must pay a $100.00 fee for cancellation. I am glad to pay the fee to get rid of them.

I was told I had to pay a garbage can's pick up fee. I paid a fee when they delivered the cans at the beginning of my service, 5 years ago. Then I was charged $53.00 on 09/20/2018 and have yet to receive my refund. Please do not do business with Republic. Throughout the 5 years, I experienced late garbage pickup or no pickup. I received a call the day they went on strike telling me due to an emergency, my trash would not be pick up and did not provide a date. I held on the phone for a representative for 40 minutes and then they disconnected the call.

    Here's a company who bought all the local services up. Used to pay $44 per quarter. Was $54 the first quarter of this year. Went up to $61 in 2nd quarter. Now $68 this quarter. 13% and we're only 3 quarters of the way through the year! Annualized 5% increase over 10 years. Crazy. How is this even legal!?

    I have been with Republic Services for more than 4 years, and finally decided enough is enough. Its price has been keeping going up and up: in 4 years it climbed up by 130% while its services really haven't changed at all. That's about 23% annualized price increase. I was facing with almost $150/quarter, one pickup/week in the end. When I called in to cancel my service, they asked if I was interested in their lower price offers. I said "No, thanks. I'm not interested. Plus how 'low' can you go anyway?"

    Regarding the final two trash bins removal, they missed their first scheduled pickup after the Labor Day. Then I had to schedule again and wait for another one and half week for their second pickup. Finally they sent me another bill (around $50) for this final "divorce". I would not recommend this company to anyone, as I found its service and price competitiveness have gone downhill steadily, especially in the last two years. I think as long as it does not have local market monopoly, you will be better off with your local trash service provider(s).

    Moved here to Texas in 2015 and Republic was then trash company servicing the area. Since having them my bill has steadily increased with no explanation. Fees for everything from administration to fuel surcharge and recovery fees. I canceled my service in the last week of August 2018. Customer service said they would pick up cans by Sept.1. Well, it was more like 5th. Now they want me to pay for September service and $100 to remove my empty garbage cans. I had no signed contract with them from the start, was never sent one to sign.

    Two weeks my garbage is still in my driveway. I called to cancel service and they are charging me to pick up my trash containers. Did not care I was canceling or why, just wanted to let me know I had to pay them to pick up their containers. So the two weeks worth of trash that sits in my driveway (that I have already paid for) is on me... I am canceling because this is most weeks... THEY DON’T PICK UP THE TRASH!

He looked at and he snapped back that the contract I had in my hands from his company was not valid??? I referred him to the Republic rep whose name was on the contract and he did not want to hear it. Too much competition out there to stay with a company like this. Goodbye, Republic.

    I have been very unhappy with the service that my Company has been getting. We are supposed to have a 4 yard container exchanged out every Tuesday and Thursday. For the last month, we have only received this service on a Thursday. I have called on four separate occasions on 9/6, 9/11, 9/12 and 9/13. I have been promised to get my trash emptied. This has not happened. I have been told that they would expedite my complaint, but have received no callbacks or even received the service that my company is paying for. I get apologies, but there is no service. I am very close to replacing this service.

    I became a Republic customer when my locally owned trash service sold out to them. Since that time, I have had continuous issues with Republic: Unexplained service fees added, Increased pick up fees with no explanation, Unknown charges that required calls, Customer service unable to locate my account, Customer service telling me I was not a current customer, Trash barrels taken with no explanation, Charged recycling fees for a barrel size I did not have, Recycling not picked up for 6 weeks straight.

    As a result of the aforementioned, as well as a significant increase in fees, I decided to cancel the service on 07/03/18. I spoke to customer service and arranged to have the barrels picked up on 07/09/18 - which they were. In August 2018, I received an invoice indicating a balance of $0. On 09/12/18, I received a final notice letter indicating that “despite several previous written notices, your account remains seriously past due.” I had not received any invoices indicating I owed anything. In fact, at the time I cancelled the account, the customer service rep specifically informed me that she did not see any additional fees or payments required on the account.

    On 09/13/18, I contacted customer service to inquire about the final notice letter, which also threatened legal action and a “derogatory credit information report.” The customer service rep informed me that I had not paid the “container removal fee” - which I explained I was never informed of, nor had ever gotten a specific invoice for. The customer service rep said they charge a container removal fee versus a contract cancellation fee. I explained that their company purchased my previous trash hauler and that I had not entered into any specific contractual agreement with them. The customer service rep informed me that I was being charged because I cancelled a contract and that every company charges a fee if you cancel a contract. It appears Republic's customer service reps are well scripted and they are not willing to listen to reason or specific facts.

    This is the first time I have ever posted a comment such as this, I don’t normally waste my time on a lost cause, however, in this instance, I have found a company that uses deception and potential lies as part of their business model. So now I’ll go to my online bill pay and pay the $44.98 to avoid having my credit damaged by this company that places no value on its customers. Potential customers may want to avoid this company.

    We've used Republic for almost 20 years without issues. BUT they failed to pick up our trash for more than 3 weeks in July, 2018 (as the fly population around our refuse container multiplied!). I made daily phone calls and got lots of promises that were all broken. Decided to end service with them and started with a new provider in mid-August. Called Republic to cancel and have their container removed. Now on the third date for this pick-up.

    Received a bill for trash service September-November, and learned they canceled our Recycle service but not trash (their error). They added a $19 fee for picking up our recycling container (which we NEVER HAD). I was rebuked by customer service for not putting our container out on September 10, when I was told the pick-up was September 11. Wrong date entered in their system. A month after trying to rid myself of this horrifying company I am still waiting for billing to be straightened out and my container to be removed.

    I literally call once a month. They forget to pick up half the time. Paid my bill and my account disappeared, they wanted me to start new service and pay a $53 fee. Wasn't happening. Two weeks later they caught their error. Offered me a discounted rate... Bill came with a $35 late fee!!! Whatever, I was over it. Put my trash out and they took my can. Hubby chased them down the street. The man had no clue what he was talking about and Said the trash can wasn't there when he stopped... Incompetent.

    I canceled my service prior to moving. I had paid up my account to a month or 2 past when I needed their service. Upon calling I was informed I would receive a refund. I gave my new address at that time so the refund check would get to me. I never heard from them and a few months later received a collections letter in the mail. They did not refund me the amount that said they owed me but instead turned me over for a $50 fee I was never told to expect and was never billed for. They claim it was for picking up the trash cans I no longer needed but never once told me there would be a fee for that.

    They also didn't credit me for the overpayment I was due. They only sent me straight to collections for something I shouldn't have owed. I made numerous calls and was told several times it would be taken care of. I was pregnant at the time and once my baby was born I didn't think about it again as I never heard from the collections agency again and thought things had been taken care of as promised. I recently checked my credit report and found nothing was corrected. I give one star on this review as zero is not an option.

    This is the only derogatory mark on my credit and it's all because of the poor customer service this company has!! They don't tell you about additional fees you will incur. They don't refund or credit you when you've overpaid... They apparently didn't bother updating my address when the new info was given so they never sent a bill... and never once called me about the supposed balance and turned me right over to collections. Not sure what they do that is right!

    Chesterfield, Virgnia - I have been a loyal customer of this company for 22 years. This week I needed additional service on my 3, 8-yard dumpsters at an apartment complex I manage. I made 12 phone calls over a 4 day period requesting service and each time a different “supervisor” told me they would get back to me about why it hadn’t been done yet. I’m still waiting. The supervisors were rude and unprofessional. In the past these extra pickups have taken place the day after my phone call request. This lack of service has caused my tenants to have nowhere to empty their trash for 5 additional days. This is a health hazard as well as an annoyance. I am still waiting for something to be done. I do not recommend this company. Their service leaves a lot to be desired.

    When I called to get trash service started, I was told I had to receive one of their totes. When I got the bill, it was for 110.00. I was charged a 20.00 delivery fee of the tote (which I was not told about) and also a 30.00 fuel/environmental fee (which I was also not told about). When I called Republic about these charges, the rude customer service rep stated that EVERY trash company charges the fuel/environmental fee and they don't have to tell their customers about it. I talked to my son, who has worked and is currently a driver for a trash company about the fuel/environmental fee and he said that was bull because no other trash company that he has worked for charges that fee. He also said that the trash company he is currently driving for also does not charge that fee and he has never heard of a fuel/environmental fee. Republic is out to rip people off and they are a complete joke. I would have give zero stars if I could.

When the driver miss pick up my garbage and then each time we have to rescheduled it online for pick it up and they will never coming to pick up. And then I called them, the Rep said "The truck still outside now and I will let him go to pick up," and it's never happened. My garbage is full during this long weekend national holiday. And then they promised to come Monday. This was happened last week also. On the routine pick up day the driver pick up my garbage can and left the recycle can in full and we did online reschedule and they never come to pick up. The past week, the driver pick my recycle can and left my garbage can in FULL during the national holiday.

    Up until about a year ago, Republic was great - always picked up whatever was put out, even if it didn't fit in the 65 gal container. However, starting 12 months ago they have routinely missed pickup days, and only about half that time did they even bother calling to notify of the intent to miss the pickup. Just recently they have started missing pickup days, and when I call they simply state that they'll be here next week! Absolutely awful service. Not sure what happened with their management, but Republic Services is a terrible service provider. Stay away - very far away!! Go with any number of their competitors - they are much better. I'm switching service at the end of next month (when my quarterly bill is completed).

    I recently moved into a new home a little less than 2 months ago. My trash and recycle bin was supposed to be delivered the next week but never showed up. I have called every week since then and I am still waiting. I get the same response every time I call. They keep promising to bring the bin on my trash pick up day but then they never show up. I was also told to leave my trash in front of my house but the truck has yet to pick it up. This is the worst trash company that I have ever had to deal with. I hope the county that I live in ends their contract with them soon.

    Missed regular pick up service on a Thursday morning. Called them Thursday afternoon. Rep said they scheduled missed pick up for Friday. Talked to them again Friday morning promised we were on list for pickup. Called Friday afternoon another Rep. said we were scheduled for Monday. No pickup Monday, called Monday afternoon. Did this every day until Wednesday afternoon. Of course now the next day is Thursday my regular pick up day. Told them they did nothing but lie to me to push me off a week till my regular scheduled pickup day. Promised a $14 credit on next bill and said account looked good and they would be there tomorrow (Thursday) to pick up. I document all their calls, times, and person I talked to. Just plain bad service and lies from customer service.

    I thought I wanted Republic Services, but changed my mind after reviews. I received a phone call from Republic stating my account was past due. Having a special moment I paid the balance and future payments. After talking to my husband he quickly reminded me we do not have service with them. They refunded me the future payment, but not the "past due amount". They have never serviced my home, provided me with trash service, a special detail, nothing! I have been dealing with calling customer service since Feb. 2018 and now they tell me my case is closed and the check is in the mail. It's been 2 months and still waiting. When asked why they didn't refund my CC the full amount I was told because I did not have an account with them, but yet they refunded partial payment. I just want my money back for service I never received.

    We have been loyal Republic Services clients for over 2 years and in that time, we have made on-time payments without incident. We have since sold the property (March 23rd, 2018) associated with Republic Services but have been receiving bills from Republic Services. We have made multiple calls to Republic customer service department to explain that we no longer own the property. The Republic Services Customer Service clerks instructed us to send a copy Final NV Energy Bill and we did that, yet the bills continued to be sent to us.

    We called Republic Services 3 times per week and talked to multiple customer service clerks and explained that we no longer owned the property and nothing changed... The bill continued to be sent to us. The mounting bills were alarming because we are not responsible for the debt, we have continued to call Republic Services and nothing has been done to correct this issue… and the balance continues to increase.

    Last month a collection agency contacted us about the bill with Republic and we explained that we do not own the property and that assertion was dismissed as the collection agency has continued to attempt to collect on the debt. In all our phone conversations, the customer service people promised to look into the matter, promised that a supervisor would call us back within 24 hours and requested that we send emails to the emails listed below. We did as instructed, we waited for the call back from supervisors and sent emails, to date, nothing has changed.

    In addition to the weekly phone calls, we sent 4 emails to Republic. We sent the following attached files (Sale of property Closing Statement, NV Energy Final Bill, Recent Republic Services Bill) and we explained that we have been receiving bills for a property that we sold in March and are therefore not responsible for the bill. We never received a single reply to our calls or emails. We sent 4 emails to utilityverify@republicservices.com and rssncustomerservice@repsrv.com. WE NEED THE BBB TO INTERVENE AND HELP PROMPT REPUBLIC SERVICES to look into our account and send the bills to the appropriate party.

    Republic Services is unorganized, unprofessional, overpriced, incompetent, and borderline unethical. I work for a construction company that works in multiple cities and has to use several different waste management companies consequently. Republic Services is by far the worst waste management company I have dealt with to date, and I have been working in the construction industry for over 12 years. Their records are unorganized, inaccurate, and incomplete to the point that their own representatives cannot find requested information.

    If you have an issue with their services, the situation will not be resolved due to nonexistent customer service. For example, let’s say you question a charge on your statement, you will: not be able to speak to the same person, have to repeat yourself multiple times, never receive any follow through/follow up, somehow finally confirm the issue was miraculously resolved only to receive a collections notice warning 2 months later, and have to start the process all over again. At this point you are so beyond frustrated you pay the charge they cannot justify with proof just to not have to deal with the company anymore.

    That is how they get you, confusion and frustration. What I would like to know is why cities keep awarding/renewing contracts to Republic Services. Their bottom line may look appealing to the city, but the residents and businesses have to pay the difference in time and money. City sanitation divisions be warned. I cringe when we get a new job in a city where Republic Services has a contract.

    The WORST company I have ever dealt with. The town I live in has had REPUBLIC SERVICES for approx 3 years as our trash removal company. I had some BULK ITEMS that I wanted picked up. I was told to call them and list the items and they would schedule a day for BULK ITEM pickup. I did this. (4) different phone calls over a 2 day period. The first 3 told me that my town DID NOT have REPUBLIC SERVICES for trash removal. I told all 3 that we have had it for at least 3 years. They insisted we didn't and would not schedule a bulk pickup.

    On Friday 8/10/18 I called REPUBLIC again for the 5th time. I spoke to a service rep named MONTANA. She was very helpful and saw that my town DID HAVE REPUBLIC SERVICES for services. She stated that she would schedule my BULK pickup for this coming WED 8/15/18. I told her I had a recliner and she stated to put it on the curb and they would pick it up. GREAT!!!

    So today Wed 8/15/18. My recliner is still out on the curb. I called REPUBLIC again to confirm my pickup. I spoke to a rep named BRIANNA. I asked to confirm my pickup for today. She tells me that the BULK PICKUP was CANCELED by the company because they DO NOT pick up trash in my town. I went thru this whole thing again with her. She stated she saw my previous calls and complaints on this but this nothing they could do because REPUBLIC does not service my town. I told her that they do and have for 3 years. I even give the usual trash pickup man a XMAS card every year for his service. I guess I must be dreaming all this according to REPUBLIC SERVICES. I wanted to speak to a supervisor. They would not let me. I insisted on speaking to someone in charge. BRIANNA stated that she would call me back in 15 mins. It is now going on approx. 5 hours and I am still waiting for that call.

    So I called back after confirming with my town just to show I wasn't crazy that indeed my town has REPUBLIC SERVICES. This rep told me that she sees my complaints and that I did schedule (last Friday) a bulk pickup for today but it was canceled by the company because they do not pick up trash in my town even after she verified that it does. I stated that I wanted someone to pick it up today. She stated that they do not do same day pickups. I stated that they screwed up and not me and that I did everything I was suppose to do. Still my chair still sits on the curb. This company is TRASH. The public service is one of the worst I have ever dealt with. Please take this into consideration if you are thinking of getting REPUBLIC SERVICES. They STINK as bad as the TRASH!

    I am not sure where to begin. I wish there was a negative star system... This company is basically ripping people off by signing them to their service and not disclosing the non ending delays the customer will experience regarding delivery of the trash cans. When I signed up, I specifically asked that they would confirm the date of can delivery before I stopped my previous service and I was told it will be in a week. They intentionally lied because it's been 4 weeks now and I do not have my trash can... Every time I call they lie again by pushing the date a week further or even promising that it will be delivered that same week.

    All I asked is that they be honest and tell me from the beginning about any delay issues they know of so I won't spend time calling, talking to someone to be fed a new story... I don't usually review services but felt compelled to do so thinking of future "victims" who will be lied to... This behavior should not be tolerated in a country where businesses are held accountable for intentionally misleading existing or future customers.

    We contacted Republic Services that we were moving at the beginning of the month. They said we had paid for the month and so the account would close at the end of the month. During this time the people who moved in to the old residence, were able to use our equipment, on our money and Republic Services is fine with that! For 21 days, 3 pickups and using other people's leased containers, Republic Services allowed our money to help them catch a prospective customers. And it did not cost them one cent. It cost us. If you were to die July 2, your trash containers would sit there until July 31, and the refund is a joke. You would be charged the entire month while you are in your grave. The practice of this company is horrendous. The policy is geared towards profit against customer relationship.

    I had two accounts with Republic Services in Tucson Arizona... one in a house I was living in and one in a rental property. After deciding to move into my rental property, I canceled both services (trash and recycling) for both properties on May the 9th. I canceled largely because the service had been intermittent and undependable at my rental property. At one location, they charged me an $86.00 pick-up fee to pick up the trash cans... double charging it. They also did not close the account. Two months later I had to call and request money back and again say the account should be closed. They had picked up the cans two months previously and why the account was still open remains to be seen. They are now telling me that it will take 6 to 8 weeks to refund the overcharge.

    At the other property, I just got a bill today (two months after the fact). When I called to find out why I was receiving a bill on a closed account, they informed me that the garbage cans were not available at the property so they were charging me a "replacement fee". I assured them that the cans were at the property on the June 4th scheduled pick up date and to my knowledge, they were still there because the house was unoccupied. They insisted that if they told me that they were to be picked up on the 4th, then I was liable for a replacement fee (even though the cans were there on that date). I told them that I was pretty sure the cans were there, but likely their pickup guys just didn't look for them. They were alongside of the house. They insisted that they were going to charge me the fee because of the note from their pick up guys that said the cans were not at the site.

    After we hung up, I drove over to the old house and sure enough, the cans were at the house all along. I rolled them to a conspicuously obvious location and called them back to inform them that they were there and insisted they pick them up in the next 24 hours so this could be done. I also asked that if for some reason, the cans were not longer in front of the house in the driveway, to please check on the side of the house because this homeowners' association does not like things sitting out, so they might move them. We will see if they pick them up or continue to bill me for a replacement fee. This company is undependable and excessively charges for things that other companies don't hassle with you about. They argued with me about these unfair and unnecessary charges. I will never use their services again and would highly recommend that you avoid them if you have any alternatives.

    I switched my garbage collection services because I had trouble with my previous service. Besides having trouble getting my first cans delivered I did not have an issue with Republic Services until about a month ago. Usually I had my garbage collected by 6 am every Wednesday and was very pleased. Then the past month, I have been missed and when I called they said they would have them pick up by the following morning. Still nothing. Received call. They would be collecting and to keep the garbage out. Still did not pick up until the following week after my already scheduled day. So, I have now been missed again and have two cans and a huge pile of trash around the cans. It is disgusting and horrible to look at. It is embarrassing to see it sit there for so long! I have an outdoor party this weekend and my embarrassment is great! I would never recommend this company and I am seriously looking into getting another service ASAP.

    I don't understand how this company is still in business. I am far from the only customer who is tired of the garbage quality of service from this garbage company. Pun intended. After experiencing many missed pick ups over the time I've been at my home, recently events were the final straw. One week I got yet another phone call from them, this time with a voicemail saying service was interrupted (big surprise) and to place my cart to the road for Thursday rather than Wednesday. I did so, and my trash was not picked up. I called. Reported this.

    The service rep was confused as to why I had been getting phone calls at all about my service being delayed because I was not in the area affected. I said, "Well if you don't know, I certainly don't know?? What am I to do, call the center each time I get a message to confirm whether or not I should listen to it?" I said, "Look, I don't know what's going on but if I'm not supposed to be getting calls for my area THEN TAKE CARE OF IT." I call this place more than I call my mother! She told me to place it at the road on Sunday and it would be picked up Monday. Fine. I do so. Guess what? It wasn't picked up on Monday.

    I call AGAIN, and am by now infuriated, again. I get a polite man on the phone who is understanding of my frustration, and I tell him about the missed pickups, how I have to take time out of my work day to call to get my trash service THAT I'M PAYING FOR (something that should just run automatically without a thought!) and the fact that apparently I'm getting told the wrong information because I'm getting voicemails about when to put my trash to the road when I shouldn't be. I convince him to refund my account for two missed pickups (something they still resist giving for whatever reason) and I told him that it wasn't enough, I wanted more of a credit for my time and aggravation and for their screw ups calling me and telling me the wrong information when they shouldn't have. How hard is it to run a trash company!?

    He gives me a refund of $20 for this. He credits my credit card directly and I trust that the matter is settled. What do I get about a week later? A ** invoice for $20. I blow a gasket. I say this is the last straw. I call and explain the situation only to get a rep who is arguing with me over the amount of times I called and whether or not they are allowed to give refunds for missed pickups, and that the man didn't follow procedure because that's not how they give refunds or credits. I said, "It's not my responsibility to make sure he's doing his job correctly and refunding me the way he should!"

    I said, "I am not paying a single dime more to this company, nor am I going on a wild goose chase anymore calling one person after another to do anything further to settle this matter! Either you take this invoice off right now or cancel my service!" She said there was nothing she could do, so I said cancel my service right now. And I said, "DON'T EVEN THINK of trying to charge me for a cart return fee, because I'm not paying **."

    Then I asked, "Ok since I paid my account 3 months in advance how much of a refund am I getting since I have not gotten ANY service since I paid the account one month ago"... (knowing damn well what she will say) and she says I won't get refunded anything and I cut her off saying, "Yep, that's fine, I'll just call my bank and report fraudulent charges and get my money back that way." Which I have. Screw you Republic, you are worthless!! To everyone else they are trying to scam out of your money, call your bank! Don't let them take your money and run! I will also be reporting them to the BBB. Hopefully they will be put out of business.

    On 6/25/18 at 12:42 PM, I was driving on I-465 Southbound behind Republic Services truck 2528. Debris flew off the truck and went straight at my new car, cracking my windshield and scratching the paint on my hood. Contacted Republic within minutes of this happening, and sent photos of the damage (and of their truck in front of me). Over a month later, their claims adjuster finally contacted me saying that they won't pay for the damages and that the debris "must've come from the road". Now I have to pay to have my windshield and hood fixed because of no fault of my own.

    I am a commercial customer. When I signed the 3 yr contract in 12/16, the rate for trash and recycling was $292.89 per month. Now I receive a new bill, and it's $509.58 per month. That's an increase of 77% in 1 1/2 years, and I can't reach anybody who can tell me why. I have 3 numbers for the sales dept, and not one of them picks up. If you need commercial trash service I don't advise working with this company. I also get weekly phone calls that the service won't be performed because of a lack of drivers.

    Long time customer... Picked up trash May 3rd... Got message truck broke down and wouldn't be there next week. Well four weeks later still no trash pickup. Called and called always told would be there the next day. And you can imagine the smell of 4 weeks of trash in the summer. Cancelled service... No fighting for refund. They said they would cancel as of June 30th as you have to pay for full month. Even though they had not picked up since May 3rd. Only good point new service is cheaper!!!

    Many times Republic has missed picking up my trash. My trash was to be picked up July 9, 2018. Today is July 18, 2018 and the trash is still sitting at the curb. I call once or twice a day and they said they will pick up that day but nothing but lies. I feel that I am being discriminated against for my sex and age. Also I canceled my service, reported them to the Better Business Bureau, called the Health Department, and contacted an attorney. This is about the fifth time I have had problems with Republic. I do pay my bills on time. They have my money and I have no service.

    RS is contracted through the County. Their contract allows them to require service whether you use their service or occupy the property or not. Their argument to do so is that they are required to pick up your garbage whether you have paid for the service or not due to it being a potential health hazard to the public. However, my garbage as well as others on my street, has not been picked up numerous times for petty reasons such as the garbage lid not being closed, recycling boxes not bundled to their specifications, or simply items Put curbside are not placed according to their strict guidelines for pick up.

    Clearly this contradicts the contract that they have with the county if you are required to pick up the garbage due to potential health hazard risk, then you should have to pick it up regardless of how it’s put curbside. Failure to pick up presents a potential health hazard, especially when left to scatter down the street. Additionally RS will put multiple liens on your property & continue to charge you late fees even if your current balance is paid. They are unresponsive to your complaints and use the protection of their county contract to impose fraudulent fees & charges to your account leaving no recourse to the customer.

    On 7/5/18 I requested a replacement for my recycle container. I received an email stating my container would be replaced on 7/9/18. I put the container to be replaced out the night before as was requested. When my container was not replaced by 2:00 p.m. I called Republic Services. I was told the container could be replaced anytime between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm but they would send a note to operations that I was waiting container replacement. When the container was still not replaced by 4:45 pm, I called again and was told my container was scheduled to be replaced on the 10th. No one notified me of this change. Now I need to leave my container out for another night which is frowned upon by the Village of Glenview. I just would have appreciated a phone call letting me know of the change.

    This is the second time my trash has not been picked up. The first time several months ago resulted in waiting three days for a return truck to collect my trash, resulting in my HOA photo documenting this incident and sending a letter threatening to fine me in the future. I am again dealing with the extreme incompetence and malfeasance of your Republic Service (Las Vegas) employees. This is beyond incomprehensible and unacceptable on every level. I want my trash picked on time. And I want compensation for the extreme disregard for my trash service. Their “customer service” in Phoenix is deplorable and designed to cause further disruption and difficulties in attempting to resolve issues. Republic Services is a syndicate and needs outside competition to cause them to see what horrible service they provide. Their unwillingness to address these issues in a timely and professional manner is unacceptable!!!

    This is the worst trash company ever!!! Their service department is so poorly managed and unfortunately they have the monopoly over all trash services in Las Vegas NV. I ordered a lid-lock back in May 2018 and they mistakenly installed it on the wrong bin. After I called their service department to explain the mistake, they said they would credit me back the installation fee. 1 month pass and the charge was not only still there, but they charged me late fees for not paying for the installation fee. I swear their accounting department is so mismanaged. When I call their service department again, you have to wait forever to get a respond.

    When they do respond, they reply with rude attitudes and keep deferring the responsibility to other departments which takes longer time to approve. In the meantime, my fees are adding up for not paying the full balance. The city leaders of Nevada are so morally unjust to approve an extension for them to monopolize this city's trash service for another 10 years! Potential large scale lay-offs are the city's reasoning for extending their agreement. However, city don't take into consideration the new jobs that will be created with increase competition and the enhancement of better service. Right now I am at the mercy of this unscrupulous corporation.

    After being a loyal customer for years and being charged and paying on time $360.00 quarterly. I recently found Republic Services is only charging my neighborhood $79.00 quarterly. They are charging me $281.00 more quarterly and $1,136.00 yearly!!! While they charge my neighborhood $216.00 yearly. Isn’t there laws against price gouging?

    After calling and complaining, Republic Services acted like they just did me a favor offering me $79 per quarter. Once I explained how I felt taken advantage of and I also want 1 year at no charge (that is lower than 1 quarter of my current charges). They stopped calling me. After 3 more unreturned calls from any of their supervisors, I canceled and switched to Whitetail for $69.00 per quarter. Oh yeah, Republic Services now wants to charge me to pick up their “1” trash can. How do they keep getting away with gouging customers?

    DO NOT DO BUSINESS with Republic Services. I have used them for the last 5 years, and there have been missed pickups with no notification or explanation. My trash had not been picked up since the last two weeks of May. I gave them until June, thinking maybe there was a mix up. THERE WAS NOT. There were unanticipated delays for an indeterminate amount of time. I was not notified by phone, email, or a letter in the mail. I had to call. I have called over 10 times in the last month, and finally canceled my service.

    My trash was FINALLY picked up the last week in June, and I was told that the barrels would be picked up that same day. It is July 5th and my barrels, despite multiple phone calls and same day confirmation promises from Republic services, MY BARRELS ARE STILL AT THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY. Those barrels have been sitting there since the last two weeks of May. If you want reliable, professional, and affordable refuse service, save yourself the trouble, and don't even call Republic Services. I went to Willimantic Waste, and they are almost $100.00 cheaper and have been wonderful!

    Been calling Republic to set up trash collection account for over 1 month, yet they still after over 30 phone calls to this company also emails, complaints begging them to please pick up my garbage they still pass my house weekly. Everyday I rebag it due to raccoons eating it and bugs on it and it smells. Of course it's a month of them passing my house and not doing their job. Wonder why they even stay in business. Oh that's right they are the only Garbage Pickup in the area so THEY DONT CARE.

    Wonder how they would like to have a bill for something yet never get service and have nasty month old trash sitting in front of their house where they live with their kids and family. Unacceptable but what can you do call everyday and everyday they say the same thing. They will pick it up Friday, so another wk then Friday passes weeks pass still no service more garbage. It's disgusting. This company is the worst company I've ever encountered in my entire life. Absolutely no resolution. Guess I just have to keep adding to the pile. What else can you do!!! UNREAL.

    Paying for a service that we are not getting! Missed pickup and then after calling many times, get different excuses with no resolve of picking up the trash. It is in the nineties out and the trash has flies and smells. Ask to be contacted by a manager with a false promise: no manager call and no trash pickup. VERY UNHAPPY! They even send a text saying to have trash out by 7:00 AM for the missed pickup and yet the trash still sits. This is not only us but everyone that uses Republic on our road.

    Republic Services are making several local customers angry. They keep missing pickup dates, they send out text messages with wrong dates on them, (date time has passed, or date day do not match). When asking to speak with a supervisor, they respond with that takes 24 to 48 hours. Had an employee there who was very angry and disrespectful that I needed to report, they don't care about that. I will be pushing for the entire neighborhood to DROP this bad company via the Next HOA meeting. Perhaps if that happens enough they may actually change.

    Republic Services are RUBBISH!!! I have been with them for six years, and they have been sketchy about collecting my garbage for the past two months. I have called and called the Customer NO SERVICE center, and the people on the phone are clueless and couldn't care less. My whole subdivision has been missed for weeks, and when I call to find out what is happening I am told they are having driver issues, which I conclude is code for "Our Subcontractors Don't Want To Work With Us Anymore"... They don't want to tell you the truth or even help you get what you paid for. I am now told that if I want to cancel my service with them, I will have to pay a $24 "trash cart pick-up fee". Nowhere is that even mentioned on their website. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL ONLY STIFF YOU, and then make you PAY EXTRA when you don't want to put up with their lousy service anymore.

    Arvada, Colorado. Worst company!!! Do not hire this company!!! I had them for years. They stopped picking up my trash right after I made my payment of $65.79 in March for the next cycle. The girl on the phone when I finally got ahold of someone said if I didn't like it to go with someone else so I did. She said I would get my refund within 4-6 weeks. Still have not received my refund!!!

    Called today to check on it because several of my neighbors said they are still waiting on their refund after many months of waiting so I thought I would call to check. Well the guy on the phone told me he would refund me $30. Lol really. I never got any pickups why not the full amount??? Then he tried to explain why I was missed for the whole month of April. Lol ridiculous!!! I would be ashamed to be associated with this lying company! He said he would have someone call me back today but we all know that ain't gonna happen. Evidently this company doesn't care and who can we complain to get results???

    For a solid year they provided good service, but lately we never know when it if our trash will be removed, but they aren't offering refunds. I was just told that they are experiencing a driver shortage and it's out of their control. Since when is staffing your business considered out of your control? Poor management maybe, low wages maybe (I have no idea) but it's definitely manageable. I left Republic and went back to Modern Waste. It might cost more but I need reliable service.

    I pay for weekly trash removal by Republic Services but it has been almost 3 weeks with no trash pickup. I call daily and every time I'm told it will be picked up tomorrow, but tomorrow never comes. Now it's the end of the week and they leave a phone message saying it will be another week before the trash will be picked up. When you ask why your trash is not being picked up, you only get a scripted answer "that it is due to unforeseen circumstances". The trash overflows the bucket and the animals are pulling it apart daily it is becoming a health issue. I have already had to bring 3 bags to other family members to have them disposed of. Everyday we struggle to keep it picked up so it isn't flying into the neighbors' yards. You can't pull it back up because you never know when they are coming. It's just ridiculous at this point and no one seems to care about the customer.

    I will typically place my own additional 32 gallon yard waste can out on the day yard waste is scheduled to be picked up. For years this has never been a problem. Now within 8-months two of my 32 gallon yard waste cans have disappeared. I don't know what has changed. Fortunately I have a security system with cameras and to my surprise found that the garbage man took them and clearly knew it based on the video. It's unfortunate there was no note or call indicating what happened.

    The first time I called and was offered a $15 reimbursement, which barely covered half the cost of purchasing another 32 gallon can. Following the second incident, I called and was told there was nothing they could do other than offering to increase my service, which would increase my bill. I understand I am responsible for my own personal garbage cans. However I am disappointed with there lack of communication and disregard for my garbage can. It's unfortunate, that I can't attach the video to show the obvious disregard.

    Beware of their add-on charges. Republic charges extra to pick up appliances and their bill continuously increases. I researched other companies in the area and found Tri-State Disposal will pick up one appliance per week. No extra fees. Decided to switch companies at end of billing cycle and not renew my service with Republic Services. I called to cancel service and Republic Service (lady in office) tells me that there is a $33.00 fee to retrieve their container. I related to her that I don't agree to pay this pick-up fee for Republic to retrieve their own container that I was renting.

    I then told the office lady that I would deliver the container to their Crestwood location. She said that self delivery of the container is not an option. I told her that another option was for them to leave the container and it was up to them if they wanted to pick it up or leave it. I then asked how Republic can charge a pick-up fee when they don't offer a location for customer to drop off the containers. She said it's their policy. I then went to website and looked for information in regards to this fee and it isn't available anywhere. Republic uses Gestapo tactics by using this fee to force the customer to keep using Republic Services. Avoid the hassle and go with another company like Tri-State Disposal that doesn't charge extra fees for everything. Especially a cancellation charge.

    Called and setup services earlier this week. Was told service would be started today 6/8/2018. Garbage was never picked up. Called the call center because you can't get to the local office. They will request it's picked up but no guarantees. I asked for a supervisor. After 45 mins on hold I was hung up on. Called back and finally got a supervisor after 20 mins. He said the exact thing the other person did. Me: "Ok get the local site on the phone, them: "Oh we can't. We can only send a message." Me: "Your person set this up and guaranteed pick up for today." Them: "I'm sorry but she told you wrong." Me: "Get someone on the line." Them: "We sent a message. Someone will call you back later before 5 pm." Click. Horrible. Do not put business thru this company.

    I am astonished at how this company is still in business. I thought my issue of missed pickups was local, as I was also told by a representative via Twitter, until I read reviews complaining of the same issue across the entire country. I was told that it was my local facility that is having issues and that they are "unforeseen circumstances" but I am now learning this is just an excuse because the same thing is happening nationwide. As another reviewer stated, we were told our pickup was delayed one day due to the Memorial Day holiday and would therefore be picked up on Saturday instead of our normal scheduled day of Friday.

    I happened to be having a graduation party as I just completed my Master's program and we're having many guests over, some for the first time ever at our house (we have not been living in this house very long). We kept our trash at the end of our driveway all day despite it being an eyesore and frankly in the way of people trying to park, just to have it never picked up. Needless to say, the trash that was already in the bin plus all of the trash from our party created a huge backup. We just had a missed pickup 2 weeks prior to this, which I was on the phone about for a while.

    This is completely ridiculous and unacceptable when people are paying for a service and simply not receiving it with a complete lack of communication part of the whole mix. We are actively working to switch companies as I type this because it is now summer and keeping trash around outside when it's warm (disgusting), having wild animals roaming our neighborhood with trash containing food out in the open (not wise), and/or having it build up in our home is (also disgusting) is not something we feel we should be paying money for.

    My elderly mother has garbage pick up from Republic in Bridgewater NJ. I was there recently and arranged to have 10 extra bags of bulk trash picked up from her property. As I type, the bags are still there 8 days later. Oh yes, she was charged $3 a bag. I have called every day for 5 days. Was on hold for 20-30 minutes, then told the pick up was scheduled and then it never happened. Yesterday June 4, I was on hold for 30 minutes, then took advantage of the call back service offered. NO CALL BACK. I gather they are a monopoly in many areas. What will complaining on this site do?

    This company is a joke. Called them 2 weeks ago to start new service, but was on hold for over 30 minutes without ever talking to anyone so I hung up. I called back the week of Memorial Day to try to set it up again and spoke to a lady that said she would set it up. After 45 minutes, she said service was set up and the containers would be delivered on Friday. Friday night, we realized there were no containers. I called Saturday, no answer. I called today and after being put on hold by the first lady for 45 minutes, I hung up and called back. The second lady told me there was never an account set up for me. She apologized many times and promised that she would get me taken care of. TWO HOURS LATER, she said I was good to go, BUT we wouldn't have service until MAYBE the following week, and she couldn't tell me when the containers would be delivered.

    She said she would try to have the $20 delivery fee waived, and when I told her I would have 2 weeks worth of trash, she told me I would have to pay $2 per bag that didn't fit in the container. After pleading with her that this wasn't my fault, she said she would attempt to get that waived, too, but it would still be on my first bill and I would have to call back in to dispute it. Seriously? After discussing with my husband all that we have gone through just to set up service, we decided to forget it and go back to Waste Management... and believe me, a company has to be absolutely terrible for us to go back to WM! I called back in to cancel the service and that took 30 minutes. From start to finish, my total time on the phone with four separate people, was over 3 hours... for no service.

    0 stars wasn't an option for level of satisfaction. Republic Services have been providing trash pick up services for almost 10 months (not by choice) and fail to pick up our trash on the days and times they are supposed to. They come whenever they feel like it and continue to bill us for services not provided. They pick and choose which trash bins to pick up and often leave half the street with filled trash bins. We have been documenting how many times a month our trash gets picked up and we are averaging 1-2 times a month... once in a while it will be 3. More recently it's been 1. We never chose to have their services and feel we should have the right to pick our own reliable trash company to pick up our weekly trash.

    This company continues to raise the price every three months. When you cancel remember you've signed a contract with them so you can't quit service until the end of the quarter. Then there is a cancellation fee of 50 plus dollars, and then the 50 plus dollar fee for picking up the container. Lol!!! Wow. Ummmm, Gouging?

    republic service. Notice your first 2 letters "r" "s" in lower case is because you don't deserve to be recognize by anyone period! They didn't pick up my trash 2 Wednesdays ago. I have called them and asked why didn't they pick up my trash? They contacted the service man who picks up my trash. He said it's because it sits in wrong place and facing the house. I said, "So he decides not to pick up because of wrong spots?" I said my son put it in there and apologize for that and said will fix this right away. But Trash man could have had an attitude with community service and get out of the truck and pull it around and pick it up and IF he left me a note, I WOULD HAVE FIXED IT and work with him easily to make his job easier! I said, "He stopped by here 2 times and didn't bother to pick up my trash and asked for my last 2 Wednesdays to be credited because he was here 2 times and didn't bother to pick it up because of wrong place to put bins in."

    They called 2 supervisors and they disapproved because they were HERE!!! What a JOKE!!! I said they should have got out of the truck and pick it up and leave me a note and problem would been solved right there! THEY WOULDN'T CREDIT 2 Wednesdays to make up and keep my business with them. They don't really care about how we feel or concerns, they just want to vacuum all of our money out of our pockets and do whatever the hell they feel want to do to us, and laugh at us.     A Shreveport Green official told me I could take several cardboard boxes (too many for my recycle bins) to our local Republic Services location and dump them into a bin situated near the entrance. So... I packed my Yukon to the limit and drove all the way... a long, long way... to Republic Services. Upon arrival I did not see any such bin anywhere. I did drive through the entrance and parked and went inside an office. I repeated my story and could see by their faces that the information I was given was, in fact not true and not possible. HOWEVER, Rita **, Dispatcher and Robert ** made several calls trying to locate a truck that was near but to no avail.

    Then... they walked out to see the load in my car and told me they would help me unload the boxes into the back of a pick-up truck parked near their office & they would get the boxes into a truck when one came through. This is A-1 Customer Service which is almost nonexistent these days. Rita and Robert went out of their way to assist me... a long-time Republic Services customer... and I was so thankful and appreciative. Please know these two Shreveport employees are what's good about this company. They should be congratulated by Senior Management... I have raved about this to my friends and neighbors. I'm sure Republic gets lots of complaints... this is far from it.

    The worst company to use. Tore up yard. Prices go up service goes down. Constantly pushing back pickup day, When you add it up you pay for 26 pickups a year but that doesn’t happen. Call to cancel service and the biggest runaround, hold, hang ups and outright lies. Told my service was interrupted because we hadn’t paid since Nov. 2017, then "Well, we just received a check for Nov., Dec., Jan, Feb." Told the lady she couldn’t have received that check because we pay online, I am looking at my Bank account online every month on the 5th paid.

    She starts yelling at me. Notified them 3 months out, two months out and the month of that we were canceling their services. They tried to claim we didn’t, then well they tried to contact us, once. Then "Well, you didn’t cancel the right way." Called the DA, Told to file a theft of service against them if I feel they haven’t done their service as paid for. Calling the news service, someone, Gov., needs to investigate this Company. But only we can get it done if everyone contacts the Gov. one way or another. Congressman etc.

    I am also a Littleton resident who has not had my trash picked up in 3 weeks. I am beyond annoyed. I have been on the phone with customer service 5 different times and was told that my trash would be picked up each time, and it still hasn't. My neighbors are probably mortified, and hauling 3 weeks' worth of trash up and down the driveway is insane. I am paid through June and I am about to go throw everything in front of the next Republic trash truck that drives by. AND... they have driven past my house 4 times today and still aren't getting it.     I have been trying to rid myself of problems with Republic since mid March. I canceled my service. The last date of pickup was 3/28. My containers were picked up 4/3. They charged me 137.56 for the next 3 months of service I had canceled. I spent close to 2 hours on their phone number ** the 1st time I called them. The 2nd time I spent 1 hour. The last time I called them it was a short 50 minutes. I now am told I owe 78.96 for pickup of my containers which was never told to me. The customer service person looked to see if I had been told it that pickup was free. This person never asked if I was told there would be a charge for the pickup. It wasn't.

    We have not had our garbage picked up in almost 3 weeks. I have called numerous times and sent a complaint twice by email and still no pick up. I was told the first time I called that it would be picked up on the next day. No one came. I called again and I was told it would be picked up the next day, then the next day but still no pick up. We have been hauling over 2 and a half weeks worth of garbage out to the curb and back in the garage (so animals do not tear it up) every day for 2 weeks straight. We paid for a weekly service and it will soon be 3 weeks since anyone showed up. We are very aggravated.

    My city has been using this service for the past two years and after the first year they would pick up my recycle or trash every other pickup day. This bugs me a lot because I have 5 cats, 2 dogs, 4 mice and about 40 chickens and 4 ducks. So basically I am a “chicken farmer”. All of those animals = a lot of poop and trash. Republic Services suck. I want to talk to my mayor about switching back to Waste Management. For starters there is little to no differences in the prices and they pick up everything. Republic Services are lazy.

    They have missed many scheduled pickups at my business and there is no point of contact outside of a call center that delivers messages to any operations team that hides behind them. When I finally got information for someone hiding behind them, it was only an email address of a sales rep. My email was never returned. I have 20 locations they serviced, I dropped them like a rock and they no longer get $4k of my business monthly. Moved to a local company and much better experience and their business/ops people don’t hide behind call center reps. Don’t waste your time, avoid this company.

    These guys are the laziest POS ever! If you call customer service expect a super long wait time. I have called them 3 time and the shortest time to talk with someone was 25:37 mins. It makes sense because I think they connect you to someone in Syria good luck understand if you speak English. You will need a Arabic translator. They're rude. Listen cheese ** you work for the customers or you won’t have any left. Will see how the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau like listening to my recorded call.

    Stay away from this company (also known as Republic Services). I used them for years and never missed a payment, every quarter they increase the price and when I finally got fed up I called to change my billing cycle from quarterly to annually in hope of reducing the payment and boy that was a big mistake. They slapped the cost of 1 year on 3-month invoice, I called customer service and explained the error and they promised to fix it. But 8 calls and 3 month later nothing was fixed so I decided to cancel and go with another company which cost about half what I used to pay Republic Services. The last call I made they confirmed that the account was closed and I don't owe them anything. 2 month later I was contacted by a collection company requesting a payment of over $100. Save your time, money and aggravation and find another company.

    Spoke with a CS rep. when we had service interruption and she researched to find a 0 balance on our account. One week later, we receive an email from a different CS rep. indicating a balance of $24 from almost 1 year ago. An inquiry as to why this was just made aware to us as we have autopay revealed a plethora of excuses and poor customer service as well as inconsistent trash service. One week it was picked up, one week it was not. Then, the topper was an over $85 invoice for the original $24 bill, another $24 AND a $35 interruption fee. This invoice arrived AFTER the $24 was mailed from October 2017. There is a complete lack of organization in this company as well as a complete disregard for any form of customer service. I am uncertain if they have a concept of what it means to serve a customer, let alone keep one. It’s absurd.

    I have to call several times a month to report a missed trash or recycling pickup. The entire neighborhood is impacted by this and I always receive a bogus excuse when I call customer service to register a complaint. The service is absolutely the worst and unfortunately we have no choice. We used to use LECK services and they were fabulous but unfortunately there were acquired by Republic Services and we are stuck. I hope someone from the corporate office reads this because you really have a lot of work to do to improve and gain back the confidence of your consumers!!!

    First, we were very satisfied with the overall service from our garbage men. Very nice, efficient and went beyond what was expected; would even receive Christmas cards from the G-Man. What we are disappointed with is the cost of the service. Little did we know we could have called months ago to negotiate a lower price for service. We have been customers for at least 15+ years and were never notified we could have lowered our bill. When we did call them, after finding out our neighbors paid half of what we pay, they said they could reduce our bill by 50%. We have two different accounts, so after doing the math, we have way overpaid! We cancelled our service with Republic and have set up service with their competitor, who is half the price. We certainly don't need to remain loyal to a company who doesn't appreciate our business.

    Their service is way overpriced. Double what you can get elsewhere. Their drivers are down right rude as are their customer service and sales reps. Beware, once you get involved with this company it is hard to get away from them without paying outrageous fees. They will make all kinds of deals with you to get your business, but will not hold up their end of the bargain. When I cancelled my service because of this reason, they sent ME a bill for $200.00 to pick up THEIR container. When I called customer service, their reps who have horrible phone etiquette cold transferred me to a sales rep who rudely picked up the phone asking what I wanted. Didn't state her name, or ask if she could help me. My experience with this company has been a huge hassle.

The best way to get along with Republic Services it to have no dealings with them at all. Trying to make sense with them may take an emotional toll on you like it has on me.     My entire road was skipped for trash pickup 3 weeks in a row. Trash pickup is every Monday, but myself nor my neighbors received pickup on 1/29/18, 2/5/18/ or 2/12/18. I reported each missed pickup with phone calls to customer service, as well as submitted a missed pickup report online through my customer account. During the week of 2/12/18 I called every day demanding an explanation that I never received. I was promised two phone calls from supervisors the week before that I never received.

    A supervisor is NEVER available to speak to when you call. Finally on Thursday the 15th, I was told I was being transferred to the Escalation Department to speed up the process of my "issue and missed trash pickups". After calling for 3 weeks in a row this is the first time I was even told they had an Escalation Dept. I could be transferred to. Once transferred to the Escalation Dept. I spoke to someone who promised my trash would be picked up immediately, and it was picked up the next day!

    Finally after three weeks and over 10 phone calls into customer service, along with reporting the missed pickups online via my customer account, my trash was finally picked up that Friday for the first time in 3 weeks. Fast forward to the next week and my trash is picked up again, all seems to be back on track now. Although I NEVER got an explanation as to why my pickups along with my neighbors were skipped 3 weeks straight. The next week we are back to inconsistency, on 2/26 my trash was skipped for pickup AGAIN.

    This means I have only have ONE on time pickup in the past 5 weeks. I just called today to cancel services, I am switching to another company, one that a few of my other neighbors use who appear to be reliable and always on time. My poor customer service with Republic dates back to when I first signed up in April 2017. At one point I was also paying them for recycling pickup, but they would NEVER pick my recycling up so I canceled it and only received trash pickup, but they seem to not be able to be reliable with that either... So they will no longer be receiving any of my business. I pay for trash pickup 3 months in advance, so of course I expect to receive the service considering I have already paid well in advance for it.

    I'd rate them 0 stars if possible. First, when I called them to begin service last summer, I was told my bill for the first quarter would be $53. I distinctly asked them if there would be any other charges. The answer was 'no - just the $53'. My first bill was $126 - full of various surcharges and first time charges. At first, garbage and recyclables were picked up on Mondays. Suddenly this January, without notice, they started picking up recyclables on Thursday. Three times I called and asked for an explanation. Three times I was promised a call back within 24 - 48 hours. Three times I was never called back.

    Early this February I called them to cancel service and go with another company. They told me they would refund the portion of my Jan - Mar payment that was unused. I asked if there would be any charges, to which they answered no. This past week I received a bill for $17. My invoice showed a $27 container removal charge + almost $10 in surcharges. This amount ate up all of my refund leaving me the aforementioned balance.

    I called to complain, and the rep told me she'd remove the surcharges but NOT the container removal charge. I reluctantly agreed, paid the balance of about $7 over the phone, and asked for some sort of written receipt (email). All she would give me was a confirmation number and reference number. Today, they are still showing that I owe them almost $10 for the surcharges. By contrast, the company I switched to has (so far) kept their word. No extra charges, and their invoices have only one line item - namely a charge for picking up garbage. I'm saving about $20/mo with this new company.

    I had been a customer for 2 years with Republic and finally decided to look elsewhere due to inflating prices. In the 2 years as a customer my bill went up over $25 per cycle. Also when you call to cancel they play that game of let's try and lower your bill to keep you, I despise these tactics because that only signifies to me that you do not value your current customers. If there is a lower price I could pay you should offer it to me regardless. Anyways when you cancel they then bill you for a trash can removal fee plus their infamous environmental fee. Republic is all about fees. My new trash service is much cheaper and has no fees that Republic is famous for. Best decision I could have made!

    Do not rent a dumpster with this company, it is the worst experience that my family and I had. They have really bad customer service, every time you call is someone else on the phone and they want to create a new account and charge you again, there is no communication in its customer service dept. Managers do not solve you any dumpster's problems, any overcharge problem they overcharged us, they have a lot of hidden fee. When you order a dumpster, they promise 24 hours dumpster p/u and it takes about a week for any dumpster p/u, we have to put our construction on hold because of them. DO NOT RENT A DUMSPTER WITH THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL BE SORRY.

    Missed pick ups, trash taken out of can and left on side of road, terrible customer service and unbelievably high prices for all this. You can never speak to a real person because they leave you on hold for over a half an hour at the least. As a person with a job, it is impossible for me to stay on hold like that for several times a day. When you email them a complaint they tell you to call if you want to register a complaint. Unbelievably poor customer service. Cancelled service and was told I had to pay a retrieval fee for the can. I argued this point and was told that I would not have to pay. Then got a bill for the retrieval of the can and service that we did not receive... because we did not have the can! Most people in my neighborhood are leaving this company for a more reliable and cost effective company. One that we can actually contact with relatively ease. How does this place stay in business?

    I was charged and I have paid over $8600 just for garbage on my 7-unit rental property. A larger (11 unit) place in Inglewood is charging me $3600 for the same size bin.     I am very unhappy with Republic Waste. Our pickup day is Monday and today is Tuesday at 8:45 pm and they never showed. This has been happening every week for over a month.     I contacted Republic Services several weeks before moving from my home in Missouri to my new home in Alabama to make arrangement for my final bill. I was told nothing about a fee for picking up my waste container at my old residence. Almost two months later I received a bill for $32.60 for the removal of this waste container. I think this is an ridiculous charge and if they are going to charge for this I think this is an excessive amount. I was a customer for 7 years and endured their high fees and ever increasing prices for services without complaining. If I would have known I was going to be charged this fee as a final insult I would have loaded this container in my truck and delivered it to them. Generally mediocre services at best and extremely high prices. Never any warning about the price increase. They just surprise you on your bill. Hopefully this will be the last I will hear from them.

    The service is for a rental home in a rural area near Fort Worth Tx. If there was ANY OTHER service available, I would do it in a heartbeat. The service is ok. But the rates are now over $65 a month for TRASH SERVICE. I live down near Houston and I pay $85 for 4 months of service and I live in a rural area there too. Sure the trash service costs 35 but then we have fuel fee, service fee, admin fee, collection fee, recovery fee - I can't stand to open the envelope every month because I know there will be another rate hike.

Friday came and went, no delivery. Called to find out why. A very rude woman told me they don't service my area. I explained to her that I have neighbors that use them. She got really annoyed and put me on hold while she said she would into it.

    30 minutes later she came back and said they don't service my area. I ask to speak with her supervisor. After another long hold time, an even ruder woman got on the phone and just said "no". I ask to speak with her boss and was told "no, they don't deal with the public". Later that day, a person from the local office (Chula Vista, CA) called to tell me she was looking into it. After a week of waiting she called and told me "they are discontinuing service to my area". I have talked to others in my area that use them, as far they know, no change is in the future.

    I used Republic Services for several years and had no issues with pick-up. Whenever the price went up a little more than I felt was acceptable I would call them, threaten to leave, and they would adjust the price a bit. A few months ago I received a letter stating that they wanted all customers to sign a three-year contract, noting that prices would rise but we would at least know in advance. I figured this was a good time to shop around and I am glad I did. I was paying $103.00 every two months for two large carts and weekly pick-up for both garbage and recycling. I found a company that provided the same sized carts and the same pick-up schedule for $58.00 including all fees.

    When I called Republic to cancel they tried pretty hard to get me to stay. I was actually impressed with how low their price went but they still couldn't match the price from the other company. They wanted to know who I went with and I told them they could call around since there were only five other licensed trash haulers in my city. I will say that Republic had a lower price for yard waste pick up but I don't use that service. I have been very satisfied with my new service and the lower payment.

    Republic Services, who was no longer retained as the municipal refuse company for our village, erroneously invoiced my family for services after their contract expired. My wife and I received an invoice (in July) for July through October, which my wife subsequently paid. Albeit the fact our bill from Republic Services was only $70, my wife in good faith, made the payment in the usual fashion. What is worse than the fact that Republic Services sending us an invoice for service we didn’t receive, is the abysmal customer service they offer, and no resolution to refund the moneys we are owed. Again, we are only talking one billing cycle of services we were incorrectly billed for, but here we are 12/10/17 and still Republic Services is holding onto my money. I find this unacceptable. How many other people in Lake in the Hills did this happen to?

    I have made at least 2 calls to Republic Services, and my wife at least another 2. Between phone calls and emails, we have made 6 attempts to reach Republic Services. Email/contact requests are not answered timely or at all, and on phone calls we are given the run-around, where time after time they promise the refund is coming. Each time we call, the timeline of refunds due is pushed back further and further. Now, I am willing to accept ½ of the responsibility for making this payment to Republic Services. I personally, should have been more on top of it, and intercepted the bill prior to it being paid. However, I am on Active Duty with the US Air Force, and currently deployed to the Middle East. With all the other stresses going on at home prior to deployment, this one slipped past me.

    I did catch it at a later date when my wife and I were going through our monthly expenditure, and that’s how this whole situation started. If I hadn’t caught the bill we wrongly paid, how much longer would this have continued? At this point, I no longer know what to do. My wife and I feel a full refund of these charges is not unreasonable, but we’re rapidly approaching a point where just a refund is unacceptable. I feel a formal apology is necessary, along with a full audit on their part to ensure and guarantee no other LITH resident is in this situation. After all, Republic Services’ website boasts their 5 essential core values – be respectful, Responsible, Reliable, Resourceful and Relentless.

    Their website further states they are a passionate and professional team who keep their customers at the heart of it all. Would you ever want to do business with Republic Services again, after hearing what I am going through? I personally am glad our village is no longer doing business with Republic Services. I remind you – I am currently deployed to the Middle East and dealing with this while away from my family over the Holidays. Lastly, in closing, I want you to know I am not a coward nor a keyboard warrior hiding behind an email address, but more rather a genuinely upset and very concerned member of the public who has serious issues with the way Republic Services has behaved and is currently treating people who they owe money. If only I had access to Republic Services CEO directly, I would copy him/her on this email. Allow me to Thank You for any help you can offer me in this situation.

    Wish I could give them 0 stars (this was Auburn, MA office). I used them for 3 months and was so dissatisfied that I quit. Worst company/customer service ever.

    They told me they would waive the start fee to deliver the trash cans. Got a bill for this, and called. Told me not to pay it as they resolved it. Then got another bill and threat to cancel my service. Called, and they said they had no record of doing this/my calls and so would not honor waiving the fee.

    They delivered cans with recycling label on larger standard trash container and trash label on smaller standard recycling container with green lid. As a result, get much less trash hauled away each week (about 3 bags). Called to rectify and was told that's how they do it. Green indicates recycling. They do it to have to take away less trash. Have had trash fall out of their truck and then had to clean it up on my road.

    Told me cancellation was $50, now suddenly with only 3 months use they said it will cost me $60 plus fees coming to $85. What company charges you to cancel service AND doesn't provide prorated reimbursement for prepaid services? SO yes, for three months of use, am having to pay almost $200 for starting/stopping service and crappy service. The whole thing has been a scam. At this point, I am literally paying just to stop having to deal with them. Much easier to just take my trash to the dump. Please stay away and learn from my mistake.

    This all happened within the last two weeks. 1st call (Sat 12/2) - Called to set up service. Spoke with a very pleasant person who promised me that my trash would be picked up Monday. No pickup then, no pickup on the next pickup day (Thursday), and no cans were delivered. 2nd call - Talked to a snarky person who said that my account had not been set up, that she would send the information to accounting, that it would take ANOTHER 5 days to set up my account. I asked her to put me through to someone in escalations, which she wouldn't. She said she would pass my information to the escalations team. I told her that if no one called me that day, I would cancel.

    3rd call - Talked to a very pleasant man, and because he was so nice, I decided to go ahead with the service. He said he would schedule a special pickup for the next day. You guessed it... no pickup. 4th call - Called to cancel. Spoke with someone who would not put me through to a manager because "the manager would tell me the same thing she did." She also claimed that she had no numbers for the regional office. Between the 4th call (AM) and the 5th call (afternoon), the cans were delivered. 5th call - Representative told me that the earliest date that she could schedule a pickup of the cans that should never have been delivered was 5 days from now! I escalated to a manager (yes, you can do that), who said she would speak to someone about getting the cans picked up sooner. My guess - the cans will still be sitting there on Christmas.

    After getting a huge increase in my bill in late October, I called the company and asked for an explanation. I had been charged an administrative fee that according to the person to whom I spoke, had been a mistake. I checked my bill again and my bill was the same. I called again, and this time I was assured that I would get a credit in my next billing cycle. Then I decided to cancel my service. The lady to whom I spoke was kind and followed all the necessary steps to cancel my service, but NEVER mentioned that I would be charged a fee for picking up the trash containers.

    To my surprise, I received a paper bill and a couple of calls from Republic Services. At first I thought the company might need some time to update their records, but when I called, I was told that I was being charged 90.39 dollars for picking their own bins! NOWHERE in the service agreement, nor in the company’s website there is a mention of a charge to customers for something that is their entire responsibility. NO OTHER company in Delaware would impose such charges. After doing some research I found out that I am not the only one suffering this abuse. But it seems that they charge different amounts at their entire discretion. I am demanding the same treatment they have given to others costumers whose charges had been completely removed.

We are stuck with Republic now with no choice to change services and they are obviously overwhelmed with the changes and have not been picking up our trash after numerous calls. I cannot blame the people that work there. Seems like poor planning on part of the city of LA. Many businesses and commercial properties are suffering without trash pick up. We got billed double of the previous service provider but they do not know who is on first when we call.     I'm a disabled Veteran and do all my billing paperless online from the computer because it's just easier for me than walking to the mailbox and opening invoices every month collecting trash. I pay all my bills at the start of each month on the 1st since this is when I'm issued my disability deposit. I've been a homeowner since mid-2013 and have made the effort to pay all my bills on-time, every month, for the past 4 years. Republic Services, in my opinion, has a very odd way of invoicing every 2-3 months, but as usual I would log on to see if a bill was due every month, pay it and move-on to the next.

    Well, come to find out after a recent conversation with Republic Services, the "$3.64" I've been paying every billing cycle going back FOUR YEARS is actually a late fee being incurred because from the time an invoice is generated, to the time the 1st of the month comes rolling around, my bill has been considered "late". I was horrified when I heard this information. Horrified because, all this time I simply assumed this was a part of my normal bill cycle and was happily paying it. NOWHERE on their online payment portal does it state, "Late Fee". Nowhere. UNLESS you manage to expertly navigate their website like a wizard, click on the downloadable invoice PDF, and open it up on your computer. Then, you'll see the fine print, 'Late Fee - $3.64'. I never download invoices to my computer, much less open them up, for any bill I pay.

    Some things to note about this horrible setup Republic Services has going on: ONE: Republic Services will not allow you to "adjust" your billing cycle. Since I pay all my bills on the 1st, they will NOT adjust my bill so I can pay my bill on the 1st within the courtesy timeframe they offer before being charged a late fee. TWO: When Republic Services generates an invoice, it does NOT show up online for you to pay on the same day. Sometimes I've noticed, it takes upwards of a WEEK before the invoice appears allowing you to pay. Therefore, the dilemma is, if you're given a 15-20 day grace period to make a payment before receiving a late fee, how can you make a payment when the invoice isn't actually clickable, viewable, or available for you to pay it in the first place? It seems very very shady, almost done on purpose.

    THREE: They harass you to setup auto-pay to avoid future problems such as this. Well, there wouldn't be a problem if your system actually worked as intended from a customer’s viewpoint simply trying to pay their bills on-time each month. And, if your system relayed information that let the customer know, "Hey, this payment is late and you're being charged a late free". Alas, nowhere does it say or alert you. Not even in the automatic e-mails.

    I spoke to a supervisor last month regarding all of this information and he assured me that my late fees would be refunded, however, fast forward over a month and I still haven't seen a refund. I called in again today to find out where the refund was and the representative told me there's nothing in the system nor in the notes that mentions a refund. Wow, so great, I was lied to now? Supposedly, she (the representative today) submitted for a refund with all of this information. I'm not expecting one at this point.

    I had Republic Services trash removal for years and no complaints until I cancelled service. I just got a bill for $92 to pick up the two trash cans that I had. $33 each, plus a $5.25 administrative fee plus a $20.75 environmental fee. This is ridiculous! Nothing about any type of fee like this was mentioned when I signed up for service. When I called to cancel, they were very nice, told me when the cans would be picked up, but NOTHING ABOUT A $92 fee. Calls to the local office didn't help.

    I ordered service on Oct. 18th 2017. Supposed to be around 50-60 dollars a quarter. I get a bill for 96.00. What is added was administration fees and fuel costs equaling out to the 96.00. Then I get a second bill for a total of 166.00. This is the 96.00 + a total of 70.00 to deliver my garbage can, 49.00 to deliver and the remaining of the 70.00 for admin fees and fuel charges. I cancelled this service and now they are going to charge me to pick up the can. So, One month of service is going to cost me over 200.00. What a con business. They do not give you all the information on the charges you are going to be billed for. I ended up with a service that only charges me 60.00 a quarter and no hidden fees. Be careful with these strong armed robbers. Poor business.

    I was being charged $315 per quarter for trash pick up twice a week. I have been a very loyal customer of theirs for 18 years. My neighbor and I were talking about the new service that the township is offering and he said he hoped it doesn't cost us more than $115 he is currently paying. When I said $115!!? He said, “Yes” and showed me his bill. I called Republic Services and they told me that I was on an old pricing schedule and that my neighbor who moved into the neighborhood six years ago got a price of $115 because at the time there was a new competitive rate being offered because of the competition going on in town. The rep told me for what I am currently paying, he can get me collection for the entire year. I have to wonder how many other customers were ripped off by this company. If there was a new rate, it should have been offered to everyone.

    Dumps oil on the streets every time they pick up residential trash. Damages the streets the environment and leaves nasty looking stains in front of everyone's home. Then people drive through it and it ends up in their driveways and garages. Made several complaints to the company, the county, and government officials and no one cares, personally I believe they are dumping deliberately since it's every single pickup!! Putting this out there for all to see. Additionally the customer service is horrible and confused. Sounds like they read from a cue card.     Paid the service through August. Called to cancel the service two weeks before the end of August (before the new bill cycle). In October, received a bill asking to pay $104, $66 for the service, $33 for taking their trash cans back, and $5 for late payment charge. Sent a couple of inquiry emails asking for justification of these charges, as no service in September, not written information whatsoever in their contract, quarterly bill, or their website about the trash can return fee, and the bill I got is the first one after the cancellation (where is late fee coming from?). They didn't reply to me, instead, sent a letter stating that if I don't pay $104 within 10 days, they will take collection action or other legal action!

    After sent other email, finally, they replied to me that $66 is for trash can pick up fee, $33 for each. They did not tell me what is the legal base for this charge. They charge their leaving customer at their will. Therefore, if you are looking for a trash company, and considering this company, think again, again and again, because this time they charge $66, next time they could charge $660 at their will. Who knows. There should have a class action suit against this company sooner or later, as many similar complaints have been posted.

    Truly this company is very incompetent. Since this is the only trash pick up service which should actually be against the law for a monopoly we have no choice. Paid with homeowners’ taxes so that we cannot hold their pay for noncompliance of their agreement to pick up trash when date of pick up has arrived. My choice would be to put these incompetent people out of business and get others who could actually do the job. I had called them 5 times. That is 5 times in 3 days for pickup of trash, do you think they could do it? NO they could not. Ignorant company to say the least. I will try to get the payment out of my taxes and take care of my own trash, at least then I would know it has been taken care of. Everyone needs to dump their unpicked up trash on owner’s lawn, maybe then he would get his head out of his ** and make sure his employees are doing their job. THEY SUCK!!!

    We "inherited" Republic Services after our old service with BD Disposal merged with them in 2013. We had always used our own trash cans with BD and continued to do so with Republic for at least a year until one day the garbage collector took our trash cans and dumped them into the garbage truck like they were garbage! I called customer service to complain and they explained that we had to use their cans even though we had been using our own for so long and had no notification whatsoever that we had to switch to their can as a result of the company merger.

    Customer service was more than happy to schedule a drop off of their garbage can but when I asked if they could reimburse me for the cost of my personal property that they threw away she basically said no way. As a "favor" she would waive the delivery fee for the new garbage can. Big whoop. They basically stole two of my good Rubbermaid garbage cans that could've been used around our house for other purposes. So over the past few years I have watched the RS garbage collectors drop glass bottles out of the can to be shattered at the end of our driveway, not come at all, and many times leave the can tipped over in the street (I actually saw).

    We just switched to another cheaper provider so I called Republic to cancel our service and they were very nice over the phone but never mentioned the $22 can pick up fee that I would later be billed for. After reading reviews here I was expecting a battle when I called Republic to waive the pickup fee. Lo and behold the service rep was very understanding and immediately agreed to waive the pick up fee (we'll see). So for that I am pleased and didn't give them 1 star. But I am still bitter that they wouldn't compensate me for the trash cans they stole. We switched to Cycle Works. Crossing my fingers that they are better. It's only been 3 weeks.

    So I was persuaded by my neighbor to switch to Republic Services because they are cheaper than others. Yes they are but only for a few months till you'll see this extra charges. The big charge is the fuel which I got $28.83. So I decided to call it quits with them and they send me my last bill with charges on every container for $33.00 each container. This company is ripping me off. So beware of them. I wouldn't recommend them at all.

    I was charged $174.99 to start with Republic Services back in June. I canceled service the beginning of October and requested them to remove my trash cans. I was told I would get money back because the $174 was prorated. I received a phone call this past week requesting that I pay a bill of $99 for the removal of the trash cans and $8 for one pick up. When I canceled I was never told that there would be a removal fee. I was expecting to get some money back. How is it that it’s $33 per can to drop off and suddenly it’s $49.50 per can to have them removed? This company is full of scum bag leaches. Avoid them! No other company charges to have trash cans dropped off at your residence.

    NOTICE. I believe, ever since Republic began colluding with the criminals who run the City of Los Angeles, their service is truly garage. They have nearly doubled their rates and have created a monopoly on the waste business in this area. They do not pick up on the contracted days and when I call them to fulfill their obligation they offer placebos and lies to get you off the phone, then do nothing.

    They do not pick up, they have broken my loading ramp, and I have excess horse manure building up. If I miss a payment they charge an extra $35 for "service interruption" and don't pick up anyway. It's part of their "Pay Extra, Give Less Promotion" where the customer gets screwed at higher prices. Since the City of Los Angeles has blessed and enforced their monopoly, the public will be trained to love their abuser and suffer higher prices and bad service, while they laugh all the way to the bank. Republic causes harm, damage, loss to me. I will enforce my case with records, photos, documents, video, audio recordings and other proof.

    I signed up for service with Republic Services 1 month ago. At that time the representative I spoke with agreed to waive the cart delivery fee after I explained to him that none of the other haulers in this area charge this fee and I told them that if they insisted upon this fee I would simply set up service with a different company. He agreed to waive this fee to get me to sign up for service with Republic. I did so under the understanding that there would be no fee for cart delivery. I taped the phone call setting up service as did Republic.

    Today I received a bill for $30.82 for cart delivery. When I contacted Republic Services I again taped the call and I spoke with an extremely rude employee who told me that they did not ever waive the cart fee and that the person who set up service had no authority to waive it. I told this person I had taped the previous call and had the employee who signed me up for service stating on 3 separate occasions that there would be no charge for cart delivery. She informed me that Republic also records all calls. I told her that then it should be easy to find out that I had been told the cart delivery fee would be waived. I asked to speak with a supervisor and left a phone number. No supervisor bothered to return my call. This company lies to customers and I have contacted the office that licenses garbage haulers in the city where I live. I would encourage others to avoid this company and, if you must deal with them, record your calls as they are not honest.

    Contractors were hired to change our entire sidings and roof. They rented a dumpster from Republic Services. Project was done on October 2nd. They called it in on the 3rd. Dumpster was left for over TWO WEEKS in the ally, giving the neighborhood an opportunity to dump trash, debris, small and huge furniture, mattresses, etc. you name it, in and around the dumpster. I called them on the 16th and was told they would pick it up the next day. Made no sense when project was down two weeks ago! They didn't show up. Contractors called and was told they'd pick it up on the 18th. Nope, no show either!! They FINALLY grabbed it today, October 20th!!! Left all the trash behind. Now, we have to call the city to deal with this issue. Don't ever use this pathetic company. You've been warned.

    One star review b/c no stars was not an option. Republic Services self admittedly operates like a cable company. At least that was the excuse my customer service agent gave me for why my total Republic trash and recycling service bill has doubled in 2 years. I do not even have the history of payments prior to that but I can only assume that it has been happening the whole time I have had my service - 5 years.

    Fuel increases are variable costs, but my actual base price has been hiked almost every billing cycle with no explanation. They offered to roll it back, but only partially, which is peculiar b/c they admitted that new customers get better rates. So basically, loyal customers who religiously pay their bills on time via autopay are not appreciated by this business.

    I found it unnerving that a partial rollback was supposed to feel like a favor, despite the fact that they couldn't explain the increase to begin with. It was when I questioned this I got the response, "Well, that is how the cable companies do it too," as if that was somehow a justifiable answer. The truth is, cable companies are notorious for this type of thing, but even they don't gouge me as much or as consistently as my trash provider.

    Does anyone else think this should be illegal? I guess my only option is to cancel the service & switch providers. If that doesn't work out and I return to Republic, at least maybe I will get the "new customer" rate and an option to "lock in the price without additional fees for 2 years" like it says on the website. At the very least, Republic could hire customer service agents that don't sound like a deer in headlights when a customer asks a viable question about the ridiculous unexplainable price increases. The blase attitude was the equivalent of saying "too bad, so sad." Ridiculous.

    Republic Services was our business trash hauler for a while. Whenever they would miss a pickup, customer service was horrible. But, worse than that, when the city mandated that we change from Republic to Waste Management, even though Waste Management collects our retail businesses trash, Republic continues to bill us and then has been harassing us with continual phone calls and past due notices with interest and late payments, despite the fact that we have emailed proof of our payments to Waste Management.

    We have called innumerable times but the customer service rep today, Ed **, said he saw no notes in our account and insisted we owed them money. I sent him the proof I had sent Jennifer but he didn't respond. This company is unethical. It is obvious that they are trying to intimidate us into paying them money we don't owe because no matter how many times we call and tell them our situation, the harassment begins again. I will begin filing formal complaints tomorrow. The constant waking up of sleeping people and interference with our peaceful enjoyment of our lives is intolerable.

    I have tried since Friday to get my recycled waste picked up. Our Normal trash day is Thursday. The driver failed to pick up a recycled waste and therefore Friday morning I called to ask them to schedule us to pick it up. I was told they would pick it up Friday and at latest they would pick it up Monday. They never came. I called this morning Tuesday to ask them when they would be here to pick it up, and was told by customer service that they would be here Tuesday, today, to get it. I have yet to have my trash picked up.

    I talk to a 3rd person today and she tells me that it will not get picked up until tomorrow Wednesday as the waste has to have 24 hours notice! Then I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told she noted this and that I wanted to speak to someone. I asked when? Thinking I would be transferred. Nope. 24 hours and they will call back... This is the 2nd time this has happened. We are not able to use another service. They are horrible. Oh did I mention we were the only home that did not have waste picked up.

    Every month skip service end of the month and get answer from customer care, "I can schedule for you but, can't give you money back coz we can still pick it up."     We had used Republic Services for many years at 3 different homes all within Bucks County PA and we’re very pleased with their service. But every quarter when we got our new invoice we rolled our eyes at the constant price increases; plus the administration fees and the fuel/environmental recovery fee. I called several times over the years and complained which did absolutely no good. This past August I went out to collect our cans and saw my next door neighbor who told me that they paid $89 per quarter and I had just received our bill for $148! For exactly the same number of pickups! I called Republic that morning and was told there was nothing that they could do, so I cancelled our service and asked if there was any balance on the bill (it was 2 wks into the new quarter), to which I was told 'no', nothing that he could see. Thank you and please have your cans picked up.

    That started a barrage of collection calls and bills for past due amounts which was finally zeroed out after 3 different conversations with Torrie on their Customer Service Team. Now I have a bill for $92.05 including $33 per can (2) plus admin and fuel recovery fees for them to pick up their cans. This company is dishonest, deceptive and secretive about their pricing and policies. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and find a local company. Republic is too big to care about a dissatisfied customer.

    I called eight months ago just giving them a heads up that I would be canceling my services soon being that I would become unemployed, I asked them to notate my account giving notice. I called in August to ask about fees that I would be responsible for. Left an email for a Barbara "supervisor". She said I would have to write letter so she could forward to higher up. She asked me to lie and put on letter that these changes were temporary. I explained to her that I didn't feel comfortable lying and I would just put on my letter that I was unemployed and therefore was needing to terminate services, (mind you I had been with them for more than 4 yrs and technically I was not under contract anymore), she said she would contact me with response. She never did.

    Someone came to pick up the dumpster on Sep 10th or possibly sooner, so I decided to call her. No response, I left her msgs. No response, I emailed her. No response, finally I called the main cs number and someone said that approval for termination was approved, and I would receive final bill. I usually pay on the 14th of each month and I still hadn't received anything so again I called last week spoke with a cs rep and she said final bill was not ready that I would be receiving it shortly, but did see charges for August of 162$, dumpster pickup 125$ and the month of September. So I ask for a discount on dumpster pickup or right off on that and she said she would have someone call me back.

    Guess who called. BARBARA, she said she would not lower balance and that would be final bill. I asked why they were charging a full month for Sep, she said they were only charging $40ish and remaining balance was from late charges, fuel charges etc. So tell me WHY are you charging me all these extra charges when dumpster was picked up in middle of September... they are not customer service friendly and money hungry! I would reconsider doing business with them, and read your contract, you are Tied to an additional 36 month agreement after your 2 yrs contract. Unless you give a six month advance notice!!

    We decided to cancel our service and go with another company after discovering that we could pay less than half as much and get TWO pickups a week with a competitor. We had been with Republic Waste for about 12 years. During the recent bad weather they missed picking up for two weeks straight. When I called to cancel I was told that we would have to pay a $45 charge for them to pick up our can. I offered to deliver the can somewhere, but was told that wasn't possible. I pointed out that they had failed to pick up our trash for two weeks that we had PAID IN ADVANCE this month, and they should get the can for no charge, and that was met with total silence at the end of the line. Avoid them, you can do better.

    Took them 2 weeks to deliver dumpster and every time we called there was a new excuse. Finally got dumpster delivered, we were supposed to have weekly pick up. Weekly very quickly turned into once a month pick up even though we were being billed for weekly. Again every time we called we got a new excuse. Final straw was when my husband called Monday the 19th and was told they would be there by 5:30 to pick trash up. Never showed. We called, demanded a full refund and the dumpster to be picked up. We were informed that the supervisor would call us back within 48 hours. Well here we are a week later, many calls later but never any calls back. We get home today to the dumpster gone but half the garbage was left behind on our lawn. Worst company you can ever deal with.

    I live in a rural area, the ONLY company that will service my residence is Republic Waste. From the first phone call I made to them setting up my account I received horrible customer service. Was told I would receive waste containers... Never did (because my neighborhood does not get them). Why I was told I would receive them... I have no idea. Besides this, I learned very quick that I have to keep my garbage cans at the end of my driveway AT ALL TIMES because they don't come on the assigned garbage days. They come whenever they want. I didn't get my trash picked up for a week and along came hurricane Irma... Cans still full and garbage truck never came leaving me with 10 days of trash during a hurricane. Then I get a bill for triple what my bill is suppose to be and when I call and talk to a representative he has no idea why and cannot help me. If there was an option for 0 stars this is what I would rate this company.

    Similar issues as described below. They stopped billing me, then used it as an excuse to close the account and charge me fees to reinstate it - which I didn't do. CGS is cheaper. I called Republic three times to clear up the issue, thinking it was taken care of each time, but they never fixed the issue. I dropped my landline and switched to my cell, but they wouldn't make the change. Bills started going to the ex for some reason (our divorce was well over a year ago so why switch now?) and after three calls, they wouldn't change the billing address back. They kept my money so I kept my can. Republic Services is a joke. Don't use these crooks. Better, cheaper options are out there.

    I have called this business 3 times and my landlord has called an additional time to complain about the time this company picks up trash. Multiple times it's picked up at 4am, 4:36am, 5am, and today 5:36 am. The pickup is at a cleaner's American Cleaners in Watson Road but the dumpster backs up to a residential complex. I would think there is a law about waking people up to pick up trash. They need to wait until 7am. I'm thoroughly disgusted with the lack of results from this company and I'm sick of being woken every Tuesday for them to pick up trash.

    We cancelled service in July prior to our next billing cycle... Then they charged us a 5.00 late fee for God who knows what. Now they are charging us an additional 97.00 for removal of their waste cans that we were renting monthly... That they never informed us we would have to pay for them to pick up their containers!!! Downright criminals. Stay away from this company!! Many cheaper mom and pop services out there who provide better service for a way cheaper fee.

    I initially asked them for a 40 Yard Dumpster at a location. The dumpster never reached on the said time. It took forever for them to place a dumpster on the location. The workers came and since they were without a dumpster they did not do any work and I had to pay them for the whole day. I had to call them again and again. Then once the job was finished I asked them to remove the dumpster, again they took forever to pick it up. For almost 2 months the dumpster was just sitting at the location for no reason.

    Neighbors started to dump their stuff too in it. Adding more injury to my wound, they confused my invoice with my order at another location. It took forever to explain it to them and mess around with correct amount of money due; one time they will say a particular amount, then later they will say otherwise. They will waste your precious time on the phone. You will call them again and again and they will not resolve your issue. Absolutely waste of time company. I will never ever recommend you this company. There are other good one out there.

    OMG, where to begin. First of all, my ex wife had the trash bill in her name only, so when she moved out after our divorce, she left an unpaid balance of $90. I called Republic Services to start new service in my name with a new account number. They said ok and after a week they suspended my service and said I had an unpaid balance of $90. I argued with several different people including a supervisor named Christine in the Phoenix AZ call center and headquarters.

    They took me to a collection agency with my name only and said I owed $151. I paid all the money at once and they still haven't returned my container and they still haven't reopened my account. They did all this to me because it was for my address even though my ex wife was responsible for the bill before she moved. I was responsible for the mortgage, she paid the utilities. This place has serious issues and every time I called I got someone different who would always tell me something different that didn't make sense. This company needs to be reported and investigated by the Better Business Bureau.

    They came door to door and offered a deal. I had adequate service with them for 2 years. After always paying my bill on time and cancelling service they want another $162.04 from me. Now I have bill collectors contacting me. The yard service was about $130 for the season Apr. thru Nov. I cancelled in March, they said I was under "contract" for another month which put me 1 week into yard service. They want to collect for the entire season, and then about $30 service charge to pick up their containers.

    We had been very responsible customers of Republic Service since 2011. We paid our quarterly bills on time without a single day delay. We had to move to another city due to new job and we listed our house for sale. Republic Services were sending bills quarterly and we still were paying our bill even though we were not getting service from them. Because we didn't want to cancel the service before the house is sold. After we paid three months advance bill (Feb, March & April) in January 2016, they stopped billing us afterward and we didn't even notice that they were not billing us.

    All of a sudden, we got a letter requesting to pay $151.25 from a collection agency on July 28, 2017. This was a shock to me. Because they themselves stopped billing and in addition they never try to contact us by the cell phone they were using to call us in the past. In addition, we were paying $74 quarterly and so I didn't understand how they came up with the above figure. I contacted them by phone and they were not helpful. I sent email twice, they didn't respond to it. I am paying the whole amount today as I don't want to have a dent on my credit history due to such horrible customer service.

    To make a LONG story short, I signed up with Republic Services in 2012 and my bill for a 4 yd. dumpster was about $100 a month. At the beginning of 2017 my monthly charge had gone up to almost $175 a month. After many, many minutes on hold and many promises to lower my rate and promises of faxing a new contract I finally gave up and contacted a different trash company.

    I sent Republic Services a registered letter requesting that they pick up their dumpster on Aug. 31. They didn't pick it up and now they are saying they can't pick it up for a couple more days. I have never dealt with a more unethical and dishonest company. I don't know how they can stay in business. I would strongly recommend that people do not do business with this company.

    Republic Services forgot to pick up a dumpster at a rental house down the road from me and six months later, it was still there. When the new tenant moved in, he asked that the dumpster be retrieved. The geniuses at Republic instead picked up MY dumpster down the road as they had lost any record of the previous dumpster, leaving that one still sitting, overflowing with trash. When my husband called to ask what the deal was, he was informed that even though it was technically Republic's fault, he would need to pay up the bill and also pay two months in advance "for a new service". So instead of righting their wrong and acknowledging their screw-up, it apparently was actually our fault that they can't keep track of their dumpsters. This is not the first issue that I've had with Republic and their horrible customer service. Mostly I am disappointed that I even bothered to give them another chance and allowed this to occur.

    More like Ripoff Services. Raises prices constantly! I have 1 96 gallon trash can, I've paid up to $60 a month, I keep having to call and complain. March 2017 they raised it $9 up to $40. I called and complained this last August, they changed my bill to $18, now all of a sudden, my bill is $91?!?! The last time I threatened to switch they said I would have to pay a $135 removal fee for THEIR trash can!! I'm SO done with this stupid company!! I could take a Take a trailer full of trash to the dump for $13!!!

    After 5 years of using them and the bill kept rising, we shopped around. Decided to change companies and cancelled their device. The conversation was "we hate to lose your business and would like to price match." What? So why raise our bill? Because we didn't complain. We were told we owed nothing due to being mid month. So 4 months later we received a letter from a collection agency for 11.52 for picking up our dumpster. The letter stated that after numerous attempts that we had not paid the bill. We never received a single letter or bill. They knew where to pick up our trash but our bill wasn't received. What is this? Put a mark on our credit for 11.00 that we did not ever get a bill for!     DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. It seems like a common theme among every other comment on here about Republic. They give lousy service and no customer service at all unless you call lies customer service. I canceled service with them 5 months ago after about 2 years of poor service. When they missed a pickup and I would call they would tell me that the truck was in the area and would be there later in the day... This was the same story each day for 4 days in a row. They had no intention of picking up until the following week. This happened several times.

    I got the same bogus call about owing them $33+ for each can for their trash can removal. When I told them there was nothing in writing that I have ever seen that stated there was pickup fee and we can settle it in court if they'd like. I asked them if there was still a fee if I dropped the cans off and they told me I could NOT drop them off... they had to be picked up. I called other haulers and asked if they charged a fee and was told no. When I asked one hauler if the charge that fee he said "You must have talked to Republic" - he already knew what they were doing to former customers. And said that what Republic was doing was illegal. I was also told that ABC News had done a negative consumer story about Republic. I intend to inform our township and local representatives. Hopefully they will be banned from doing business in our area.

    I had originally ordered trash services with Raritan Valley Disposal, who were subsequently taken over by Republic. Over the last few years or so, the billing has been increased frequently, to the point where they are totally noncompetitive, pricing that is almost double the rates of others. In February I cancelled the service, and asked for the amount of the final payment for services through the end of March. I paid that immediately. In April I started receiving bills, and a warning letter. My online account shows that the account is closed, and when I talk to the representatives, they claim that I owe container renewal fees.

    First of all I only had one container, and they are billing for two. Secondly, I inform them that I made the final payment they gave me. Their reply is the contract has a container removal fee included. I inform them I don't have a contract, and if they insist I do, they can send me a copy showing that I agreed to it. Of course, they can't send something that doesn't exist. The last time I spoke to someone there, they told me the billing would stop, but of course now I get another bill. My neighbors, and our church, have the same issue with this company. Unjustified rate increases and harassing billing practices are apparently part of their corporate strategy.

    I cancelled my service at the end of July 2017 and then received a bill for a container collection fee, fuel recovery fee, and administrative fee. I called to contest this bill and was told a billing representative would give me a call. The following day (today) I received a call from a woman I assumed was from billing; I didn't get much info from her, except that she was from Republic Services. I stated my case to her in a very respectful manner (more flies with sugar) and though I realize my opinion on not wanting to pay is not going to be a popular one, it did not warrant the representative laughing at me and replying very condescendingly, that was not going to be okay.

    I decided to contact the main customer service line again, where I was told a supervisor could not be reached. She told me to call back tomorrow and request a supervisor. (hmm?) So I simply called back right then and requested one. I finally got through to a Supervisor after asking many times on all 3 phone calls to speak to one. I explained my situation to her. And she said they had no record of anyone calling me today. I responded by giving her the rude woman's phone number that she called me from. She ended by saying that she was sorry I was treated poorly, but I would still have to pay all of the charges.

    Ultimately, not only was the customer service I received deplorable, but I was told that, even though the cancellation policy can't be found on the website, and the "policy" on the back of my invoice doesn't mention Container Collection Fees, I should have been aware of it. A business cannot have a policy that is not accessible to the customer 100% of the time. Not to mention the "policy" on the back of the invoice states I am only responsible for charges during my billing period, and these charges were all issue after that ended. You can't charge for things you don't make the customer aware of and then threaten them with Collections Agencies. And their "Customer Service" is atrocious!

    I have two container pick ups with this company. Trash is mostly picked up on time, but for the last 5 recycle container pick ups, 4 pick ups have been missed. So I do the usual and send them an e-mail because by the time I get home and realize they are not going to pick up, it is too late to call. Getting a response usually takes two days. By then the container may or may not be picked up. The option on their e-mail tells you that if you e-mail them by 4, it will be picked up the next day. This is a bit hard for people with jobs that get off at 5, and not home until 6. This company continues to raise its fees, even though gas has gone down, and their service seems to be in a race with gas prices... down, down down. You cannot e-mail any of their senior management or directors because they smartly do not give out any contact information. I believe their future in this neighborhood is on a very short leash.

    The company contacted me and told me they were not going to charge me the trash container removal fee. I am happy about that resolution since I had been with the company for over two years and had never agreed to such a fee when I started my service with them. However, from reading numerous other reviews on this site, these fees appear to be something they are trying to charge their customers who leave them due to the increase in prices other customers have experienced as I did. I would like to see the company not charge customers who have not been informed about such a fee up front when they join. This would be honest and good business. I thank them for doing the right thing for me, and I'll bump them up another star for the good service they provided to me, but in order to earn a 4 or 5 star rating, please Republic do the right thing by the other customers also.

    When I signed up with Republic Services, their rates were reasonable, but after about a year with them, they started raising the rates they charged for trash collection so that within the course of a year and a half, the rate had been raised about $25 per quarter over the original fee. I found another company with more reasonable rates, and when I cancelled my service at the end of the quarter and the end of the billing cycle, they tried to charge me $33 for removal of the trash containers. This removal fee was not something I ever agreed to pay. The containers were removed, and I then received an e-bill for $66 about a month after I had cancelled my account. I called to tell them that my account was closed, and the woman told me that the $66 was for the removal of the trash containers. I again stated that I was not paying for the removal of the containers, which was now double what they told me originally the fee was for the container removal.

    Signed up for a service with Republic 2 years ago. Agreed on a monthly price and was NEVER told that there would be a trash can removal fee upon cancellation. I remained a customer for nearly 2 years and then republic tried to increase the monthly price. So I decided to cancel the service and move to another company. After cancellation, they sent me a bill for trash can removal fee. I called their customer service and talked to Rosanna who told me that this is a new fee that they have added and since they don't do any contracts, I am responsible to pay that fee.

    I signed up for their service well before they introduced that fee and I never agreed to pay that fee. How can they charge a new fee to a customer who signed up even before they implemented that fee? She refused to help or waive off that fee or reduce it and even threatened to send my information to a collection agency to ruin my credit history. I am extremely disappointed by republic services. The way their customer service treats customers is also disgusting. They lure customers in by a lower monthly fee and without telling the customers, they trap them with these hidden fees. You only find out about the fees when you try to take your business elsewhere.

    Republic Services (Hudson, FL) - 11 months after canceling service with these ** and moving out of state, they are still trying to charge us for service that we never used because they forgot to enter it to their computer system that we canceled service and we have now received a collection notice for the amount they say is owed. We moved from Florida in September of 2016. Back to Iowa, my wife called and canceled service the week before we moved. In October 2016, I received a bill stating that I owed them for 3 more months (October-December), I called them to remind them that we have canceled their services as of the end of September and moved out of state and they said that had not been noted on our account but that it would get taken care of. I said "Okay, thank you," and hung up, once again that was October 2016.

    In May of 2017 I received another notice stating that I now owed them $169.79 because of late fees added on from October of 2016. Called them again on 7-1-2017, spoke to another person at customer service because you call the main office, and she said she had it all taken care of after about 45 minutes on the phone with her (she was very nice), and now today 8-3-2017, I get a collection notice in the mail stating that they are trying to collect $59.56, Called again today, 8-3-2017, they said my cancellation call in September and October 2016, was not noted. I was told it would be taken care of, call back in 2-3 days to check on it, as long as it is was not noted they can continue to bill me or send it through a collection agency. Would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

    Had service with this company for about 6 weeks before I had enough. Out of the time we had service with them they actually picked up my trash 2 times on the scheduled day. The rest of the time I had to call them and get a rescheduled date, which they usually also missed. It became a weekly process of calling, going on their website to reschedule, hope they came, disappointment. This company charges a premium for their service in addition to forcing you to use their trash cans. Finally had enough and cancelled service. Now it's been over a week since we cancelled and I cannot get them to come get their stupid trash cans. This is the worst trash company I have ever dealt with. You're better off hauling your own trash than using these people. Avoid them at ALL COST!

    The company I work for is forced to use Republic for our construction sites because the city we often work in has an agreement with them. I wish I were exaggerating when I say that they mess up our requests 100% of the time. Even though I ask them to repeat all of the information to me about the delivery date, address, placement, empty and return, empty and remove, etc., whatever they are supposed to do NEVER happens.

    I spend on average 30 minutes to an hour every day with them trying to get things done, such a waste of my time. They emptied another construction company's dumpster and charged us - it took me 7 months, 32 phone calls, and many hours to get them to remove the charges even though they told me with every phone call that it had been taken care of - I received past due bills again each month for the charge. I use several other companies for other cities and they all do a great job, just wish I could use someone else for this particular city.

    Received a letter from Republic Services letting me know if I don't pay in 10 days, my bill will go to collections and they removed the garbage cans. I looked at my bank statement and saw they had cashed the check in June and when I called them about it, they couldn't find it. I called and paid the balance since I didn't want it to go to collections so with that payment, they have 2 months of overpayment and I have no garbage service.

    We have been a customer of Republic Services for 6 years with nothing but problems with accurate billing, being overcharged and mischarged. They use hydraulic arms that grab and dump their provided garbage cans but when they damage the cans, they send you a bill for $25.00 to replace the can. They raise the bill constantly because of fuel surcharges but when fuel costs go down they sure don't lower your bill to reflect it.

    I called to resume service after it being cancelled due to non-payment since I was in the hospital and they wanted $253.00 plus taxes and fees to resume service. I said to the customer service representative that $250.00 plus seems a bit steep and I was told "IT SOUNDS LIKE IT’S TIME FOR YOU TO SHOP AROUND FOR ANOTHER TRASH SERVICE!". This is an absolutely unacceptable response from any customer service representative and this company will never get my business again and I will never recommend them to any of my neighbors. This is absolutely despicable company that should be ashamed of its business practices and the way it treats the people that choose to spend their hard earned money with them.

    If you have any options other than Republic, use them. They are priced far above competitors and creep their bills constantly. They charged $181.00 just to pick up their container after I fired them and demanded I wait 60 days before they would pick up. Tony Soprano has nothing on these guys. If you are a commercial account avoid them if at all possible.

    Well, I see I am not the only customer that has issues with Republic Services. My husband and I have contacted them over 30 times over the last several years regarding missed pickups, yet it still happens at least twice a year. The worst thing is that I don't have any other service options because they have a contract in my city, so I'm stuck with horrible service. That's what happens when there is no competition. You pay top dollar for extremely unreliable service. Then, I have to make several calls and/or send multiple emails every single time this happens and nobody can seem to help resolve the issue; it just keeps happening.

    Getting reliable and competent service from this company is impossible. There is a lack of customer service, care, consciousness, ability to make things right. I have had my recycled out for weeks. First they stated one week for pick up, then I would call and it would be the next week. After 3 weeks of this incompetence, I was assured by a higher up that it would be July 8th, 2017. A day late, due to the holiday. It was not picked up. Called the following Monday the 10th and guaranteed it would be picked up on Tuesday the 11th. Customer service did want me to know that my pick up day was last Friday. Really?? You guessed it. Didn't happen on Tuesday, guaranteed for Wednesday.

    Same thing happened on Wednesday. This time when I called got another higher up and he stated he contacted supervisor in the field. A lot of good that did me. It's a week later and still not picked up. I also had trouble with the trash pickup. Told I could put bags out next to can and it would be picked up. I left 4 bags and they were not picked up. Called. Told could only leave out 3 bags. Driver could not take the 3 out of the 4 bags, he decided not to take any. Who does that? Recycled still left out, still being told the next day and never has happened. They never even offered for a refund of any kind. No responsibility to their customers. Never had anything like this happen - ever!! Find someone else, pay more, otherwise you will be sorry...

    I will have to admit we were very unhappy with Republic Services. They had overcharged us for months!!! We were about to get out of our contract and looking for a new waste company! Our previous Account Manager was not helpful at all. Did not help us in any way! I contact management about our previous Acct Manager Ms Catherine **. She was very nice, caring and understood our problem. She connected me in with our new acct. manager Courtney **. She is the kind of employee every business needs. She answered all of our questions and kept us as a happy customers. She was willing to work with us and we were able to reach an agreement. Thank you Courtney so much for all your help! I will recommend anyone to Republic Services if Courtney ** is your Acct. Manager!!!
