    If I could rate a 0 I would! I had A-Waste who got bought out by this company. Cancelled my service. They sent me a bill for 60.00! I called them. They said it was a container rental removal fee. She then stated she would take 30.00 off because I only had 1 container. I said, "How can you charge me a container removal rental fee? I never had that with A-Waste." She said that is what they charge. So now they are trying to make me pay a 30.00 fee that A-Waste never had. Not to mention all the other fees they were trying to make me pay before. Watch out for this company. They are bad!

    I cancelled the service, but they still insisted on sending me bills. Now I received a letter from a collection agency. Horrible company with over priced service. I'm now using a local service for half the price.

    Regular pickup was okay, missed a few times. They kept raising prices even though they were already more expensive than others. I got a notice of the last increase after the billing for that month, stating it was some government requirement. If so, the notice should have been months earlier. I canceled service. They quoted me the wrong amount over the phone of what my partial payment would be for the partial quarter. I paid it and then I was billed for a different amount with a late fee. Now I get another bill for container pickup with admin fees and environment fee.

    They never pick up garbage & overcharges on invoices. This is a company that continually misses garbage pickups. No warning. No notification after they miss. I hired them for 3 properties. They continuously miss pickups on all. One is supposed to be picked up 2 times a week. They missed both.

    I used Republic Service for over 10 years. The basic service was good. The only pickups that were missed were my fault or weather related. About 3 years ago my bill had a substantial increase. I called other vendors and was thinking about changing. When I called Republic Services, they agreed to drop the rate they were charging. Over the next 2 years, they increased the billing rate each year by $40. I checked with other vendors and their rates were $60 a year, lower. When I cancelled the service with Republic, I received a bill for $50 for them to pick up their garbage can. Their pick up was the normal garbage truck that was on their normal route.

    Well on numerous times my trash and recycle has not been pick up. The last time which was 8/27/2019 or was missed again I called that day. The recorded voice asked me to leave number and would get called back. I heard nothing for 2 days so I call them again. After being on hold for at least 30 minutes then explaining to customer service lady she tells me it can't be picked up till the following week so I take it they just don't care about their customers one bit.

    I originally contracted service with a company that was acquired by Republic Services. Part of the agreement was to supply the trash cans. When I cancelled my trash service, I received a bill for $87 for them to pick up their trash cans. Keep in mind, I NEVER agreed to pay them to pick up trash cans. They indicated the fact I continued using their service after acquisition that I agreed to their terms and conditions. I paid for the trash services they provided and short paid the charge to pick up trash cans. I wrote on the check that if they cash or deposit the check, they were accepting payment in full and waiving their claim for can pickup. They deposited the check. After multiple calls and conversations, they turned me into collections. When I asked the collections company for proof of the debt I owe, they have nothing but the invoice from Republic Services.

    I served a mission camp that built wheelchair ramps for disabled kids, helped widows, helped single moms in May 2019 in the Maybank, TX area. We utilized Republic for a 30 yard dumpster for the week. Mainly because there were no other dumpster rental companies available. The dumpster was in bad condition. It was dented, it had gashes, and the release lever for the door was bashed in so much, we could not operate it to open the main door. A defective, damaged dumpster. OK. We just dealt with it. We paid our first bill, got it done. Then we got a second bill of $530 several weeks later. I called a customer service rep, and they said we shouldn't have gotten that, and did not have to pay it since we already paid the first time. Sounds good. Then, a month later, we get a warning past-due notice. I call again. They said a field rep would call us within 48 hours. They did not.

    They had also indicated we were going to get charged more because it wasn't picked up until after June 1, even though I had clearly indicated to our customer service rep beforehand we would need it picked up before that. I called in June to ask why it had not been removed yet, and Republic considered that the actual removal call. Six weeks later, we get a threatening final notice email. I call again. Two of the customer service reps would soon hang up on me. One of them had said our account was settled and closed. No. No, it wasn't, apparently. The third was more helpful and understanding, and said they would flag our case properly and someone would get back to us in 24-48 hours. They did not do that again. When they tell you they will follow up, don't expect them to actually do it. Instead, expect them to turn it over to debt collectors to come after you and yours.

    Finally, since I did not get a follow-up call once again, 4 days later, I called a customer service rep one more time, and she was able to clarify the situation better. Yes, we did owe the additional $530 and she was able to walk me through the rates and definitions, and indicate that her fellow employees had given me the wrong information. We agreed to settle up. A deal is a deal. Nearly a $1000 for a bashed up, defective dumpster to use for just one week to help widows, single moms and handicapped kids. Republic brags about the benevolence they do. I call BS on that. Because in our case, no good deed goes unpunished.

    Republic has missed our Monday trash pick up many times over the last year. The most recent missed pick up being 8/26/19. I called to notify them that my trash had not been picked up on Tuesday 8/27/19 and was promised someone would be out Wednesday 8/28/19. Needless to say, my trash was not picked up so I called back and was told a Supervisor would call me on Thursday 8/29/19 and my trash would picked up before 6 pm. I did not receive a call and the trash is sitting at the curb stinking up the neighborhood and creating a health hazard. I called Republic to find out why nobody showed up and was told this complaint would be escalated for investigation. I was also told the trash pick up was scheduled for tomorrow's route.

    I have never had such horrible service from a company! They have literally lied to me for almost a week regarding re-scheduling a trash pick up they originally missed! Most of my neighbors fired them and went with a different company almost a year ago. However, we stayed loyal and tried to give Republic a chance to improve. However, we have only been disheartened, frustrated and extremely disappointed! If I could rate Republic zero stars, I most certainly would.

    I canceled service after obtaining a MUCH lower quote from a local trash company. My problem is not so much with the service when I was a customer, however they are more expensive. Rather, once I canceled service it was a brutal experience getting the bins picked up...I eventually had to load them into the back of my SUV and drop them off myself. I called their customer service line at least 10 times. Every time someone would say they were escalating the issue, or they would provide me with a date that the bins would be removed, but that day always came and went with the bins remaining. I probably spent over 3 hours of my time dealing with them over the phone.

    I finally had enough and did their job for them...not to mention I still had to pay the removal fees. The $100 was worth paying for this to just go away. I didn't want to spend another 3 hours fighting them over $100 bucks. My advice, find a good local provider and save yourself the headache. I wish the CEO would see this and implement some change...although I know that will never happen. Amazing that companies can treat people so poorly and still remain in business. I guess this is what happens when you have monopolies out there with minimal competition.

    Republic Services is one of the most unethical companies I have ever dealt with. We called them in mid May 2019 to discontinue our trash pickup service effective June 15. They sent a final bill of $141.36 also which included the entire month of August. We paid it since we had relocated to Florida. Now they sent another bill on August 13, 2019, for $32.67 to remove the waste container (which was included on a previous bill) plus an additional $10.67 for an environmental recovery fee even though there was no waste to pick up. I have never wrote a review, much less a negative one, for any business. But Republic Services has gone out of its way to gouge its customers. Please consider another trash removal service when you are in search of a provider. For me, Republic Services is garbage!

    I switched to Republic Services garbage disposal from a previous provider in order to lower my monthly bills. Big mistake. Over 3 years my bill has doubled. When I wanted to add a recycle bin their computer "noticed" I was not being charged a fuel and environmental fee and tacked on another $49 to the quarterly bill without contacting me of the change. When I called them to say there must be a mistake I was told I should have been paying this all along (I would not have switched to them in the first place if that were the case). Checked with neighbors.... no one seems to have this fee either. When I get my final bill there is a $5 late fee which should not have been there and was told it was a computer error. I wonder how many people are paying that without needing to? Anyway... went back to previous provider Indiana Waste Service who does not charge the fuel and environmental fee and rates are still the same since I switched 3 years ago.

    From November 2018 until May 2019 when I cancelled service Republic failed repeatedly to provide the weekly service I paid for. I called customer service constantly but mostly to no effect with pickup not occurring sometimes for well over a month. They are now threatening me with collection agencies for nearly $70 for them to pick up their bins. I will pay this when they refund the money I paid for the weekly service they failed to provide.     This has got to be the worst confused rip off of a company. They made me pre-pay for services which included dropping off a 40 yard container and dumping the trash and bringing back the same container for us to fill up again at my parents' residence. When they brought back the container (mind you I called to make sure they don't park it too close to the garage door & was assured they wouldn't) they parked it too close to the garage and we were not able to open the door so it threw our project back several days. I had to call 6 times for them to come and move it back a bit so we could open the container door all the way. I was aware of a $6 rental fee per day but the containers were all PRE-PAID.

    Once I called for the final pick up I was not told I would be paying anything extra. Then in the mail I was sent a bill for $1477.38! The bill made no sense since what was listed on there was ALREADY PAID FOR, and they were charging a rental fee for the whole month of August when they had already picked up the container on 8/6/19.

    I called and spoke to an account manager and she stated she will credit my account for the days I was being charged (the future) that I did not have the container. I called on the due date of the bogus bill to make sure everything was figured out and they still had the same amount due and ANOTHER BILL FOR SEPTEMBER. They sure do love charging for the future! I made an account online to see what was going on and saw they had added a bill for $742.55 for the upcoming month of September which I was not using. None of these made up fees were discussed with me when I initially set up my account, I pre-paid for everything. I WILL NEVER EVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN!!!! I will be reporting them to BBB!

    We have always paid our bill on time, and they have repeatedly missed picking up our trash. No reason has ever been given. You have to call the main office and then they take a message and have to get in contact with your local office. They have never come back out the same day to remove the trash they forgot to pick up. They will not credit your bill or offer any kind of compensation. Most of the time, we have had to call more than once for a rescheduled pick up. Avoid if you can!!

    If I could give this company a negative stars I would. We have had the WORST time with them on customer service and payments. I use automatic payments for everything and have no problem. This company for some reason it is always rejected. Republic blamed my bank and my bank said they never received anything. It happened a couple of times so we finally just canceled. Never received an e-mail saying it was rejected just one with additional payments. Then having them come to pick up the receptacle was a HASSLE and had to call them AGAIN to get it done. Thought I was done, but a month later I got another bill from them because even giving them a card over the phone doesn't work for them. The manager didn't care about any issues and wouldn't give on any of the amount even with all the issues. There are MUCH better places to use!

    I moved years ago and notified Republic Services I was transferring Service to my new home. I asked if the container would go with me. They said no that they would pick up. 5 years later I sold my next home and called 3 months in a row to cancel service and discuss picking up container. Just got billed 6 months after 1st call and am now being billed for BOTH HOMES CONTAINER PICKUPS!! TO THE TUNE OF $83.00! NOT HAPPY. FEEL ROBBED.

    They couldn't care less about your business after 15 years of doing business with them. Some woman calls and jacks your rates around and treats you like crap wanting to rob you for simple trash pickup more than double the price. So I found someone who is happy to have the business at a fair price with trash cans. My advice shop around. Even with the account closed and paid up they want to charge 35$ for nothing. Mind you the account is paid up and closed when I called about the nasty call I received. The girl said I was paid up and closed yet they threaten collections for 35 & they say I don't owe. Unbelievable.

    Always skipping pickup. Broke container and won't replace. Credit balance refuse to return to me. Won't allow me to cancel service without paying $30 fee to pickup container which was never part of agreement. Hired different company that Republic bought out and there were no terms. When pickup missed (consistently) I am required to notify same day, leave container on street, and call if still not picked up. If don't call 2 days after scheduled pick up they refuse to acknowledge. Over 30min on phone every call. Container sits on street average 4 days/week due to their no show. If pay one minute late billed late fee. Not compensated $0.01 if they pick up late or skip altogether.

    Republic Services does not seem to care about road safety or potential road accidents. Their value system does not seem to prevent or own road hazards and accidents. One of their debris trucks (grey box attached to a semi) was speeding up ahead trying to pass another truck and I was far behind watching this happen. In the meantime, this truck had trash flying all over the freeway out of it and then a giant rock came flying and hit my windshield damaging it. I called Republic Services and filed this with them on Aug 2 with the truck going to the Martinez landfill, they said they would reach out to me. Never heard back, so I followed up and the supervisor for the Martinez Republic Service landfill let me know she can't do anything, this a typical road hazard. This boggles my mind because road safety is extremely important. Taking ownership of damages and accidents, potential injuries/deaths your company causes on the road is extremely important.

    Just hand waving such big fatal near miss which first could have easily preventable and then second could have been resolved by acknowledging their recklessness and willingness to resolve it. None of this happened, it's quite sad to know companies don't care about road safety and the impact they have to others on the road and impact they have on serious harm they have to others on the road. Accident prevention is very crucial.

    Don't bother signing a contract with Republic Services because they will not honor it. I signed a 3 year contract with them and in the second year they just raised my rate way past the contracted rate and will not change it to the right rate. They will not return your call. They will not return your email. They will tell you they will follow up but they won't.

    Probably the most hideous and obnoxious company to deal with and answer very few questions when asked. Great at talking in circles. Either the employees are poorly coached or they just don't care. Raise rates constantly and quietly, cut service wherever possible, and threaten liens continuously. And have STRANGLE HOLDS on certain cities for contracts. Must slip money to politicians easily and readily. If we could, they should be forced out of business or retreat to their home turf of Arizona. Don't need or want them anywhere else.

    They were a good company a few years ago, I don't know what happened. Nearly my whole neighborhood used to use them. First they were late on pick ups, then they were missing pick ups, eventually I was calling every week begging them to do their job. Trash piling up week to week became a regular challenge. They also lock you in to a contract, which I since discovered their local competitors do not. So after I ran out the contract and ended service with them, they tried to bill me to come pick up the cans, which would've been fine if they'd been doing their job all along. So the last bit of joy you will have with these guys is their phone reps will talk down to you, tell you they do not have the power to adjust a bill, that they do not have supervisors who would have that ability. So whether you are in a contract or not they will charge you cancellation fees.

    My new company is a local company. They show up everyday, nice and amenable, zero headaches. Republic Services is national, my experience is in Massachusetts. Maybe they're just too big to handle the job they've taken on and treat their customers respectfully. Their social media may make it look like they are great people saving the planet, but you really should look elsewhere for curbside pickup.

    Actual trash pickup was okay but so much more expensive than the competition. The best price they could offer was $11 a month more than I ended up paying. This is obviously a very big company with that unfortunate mentality of charging a fee for everything... What I found really outrageous was the substantial fees they charge both for bringing the containers and then again for picking up after I canceled the service! Yes and if you don't return it they'll charge an even larger fee. I don't blame the poor people that have to work for them as companies like this don't usually treat their employees very well but I now know better than to use or recommend the service to anyone ever again.

    I have been lied to on numerous occasions. I first reported that the bottom of our 2 yard waste container was rusted out and the container needed exchanged and was told that it was scheduled for the following week. Next week goes by and nothing, I called back and they reschedule it. This has gone on now for over a month and a half and I still don't have the replacement!!! This morning I called customer service and was told it was scheduled for today. I told her I'm sorry I'm frustrated but I've been told that before and she said she understands and promises it is scheduled for today.

    I tell her that since this has been going on for over a month and we pay over $200 a month and it hasn't been resolved that I would like to speak to the billing department regarding a credit. So she transfers me and I explain the previous conversation and that yes she says it is scheduled for today but I'm still upset it took this long and the guy said that she lied. That the replacement was cancelled again and that it wasn't scheduled for today and that he promises to get it all taken care of and that he would have his manager talk to the previous lady that LIED to me. I'm sooo pissed right now!!

    I do have to say that our recycling has faithfully been picked up, but not our garbage. We're going through another period of our garbage not being picked up. Our pickup day is supposed to be Monday, but once again it wasn't picked up. I've called Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and each time I'm told it will be picked up the next day. It hasn't happened. Our trash container is overflowing and by this time of the week it smells. I no longer know what to do to get them to pick up our trash. It seems changing companies is the only solution.

    I got new service with them over 2 weeks ago and have not had 1 pick up after promises of them picking up. After the 1st missed one I called them on the following Monday and they said they would be there Tuesday, didn’t pick up so I called on Tuesday afternoon and was promised Thursday, never showed and the same thing happened over and over! I cancelled the service with no promise that I would be refunded my full payment that I gave them! I heard so many excuses as to why they didn’t pick up and was told they couldn’t promise that they would pick up on scheduled pick up day.

    They are by far the worst company ever and I would advise that you find somewhere else to get services 'cause all you do is pay them for nothing! I have a full container sitting out in 90+ heat for over 2 weeks that will probably be there forever if I have to wait on Republic to pick it up. Something needs to be done about a company that takes our money but doesn’t hold up their end of the deal by providing the services that they got paid to do!

    I do not have a problem with Republic Services picking up my trash and recycle. They do a nice job in my area. What I do have trouble with is their maintenance department. I have a wheel that is no longer attached to my trash can. It can come off most anytime because there is nothing holding it to the axle any longer. There is no user method to reattach the wheel in the same way it was before. It appears the wheel attaches to the axle by the missing piece in the middle of the wheel. I called for an all day appointment to get this trash can exchanged (repairs would be OK too). The trash can was not exchanged nor was there a phone call telling me that it didn't get exchanged. I made another all day appointment 5 days later (this time on my trash day). Again, no exchange or phone call. I can only guess non-caring idiots work for the maintenance department of Republic Services.

    Worse trash removal company ever. I had to switch companies because since I started service two months ago I never had one pick up. It's now been two weeks since I cancelled their service and their container is full of trash and they have not yet picked up their container yet. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and Georgia State Attorney Generals office. I don't know what else to do to get their container full of trash removed. They have failed to provide service and every time they state they will remove container. This is a horrible company and I am now looking for legal advice since the waste has become a pest and health hazard.

    Republic Services is the worst trash service I have ever had to deal with. Where I live they're our ONLY option so it's deal with it or haul it off myself. They charge a outrageous 130.00 quarterly to pick trash up once a week but hardly ever pick it up! When I call to report missed pickups they claim they will pick up the coming Monday and never do. It's always the next Thursday which is trash pickup day anyways. So you're actually paying full price for half pickup! They really suck! They claim to have no management to talk to when you call, they have nasty attitudes and will even hang up on you! They're the most unorganized and unprofessional Company I have ever dealt with!

    I was under Allied Waste which became Republic Services. Under Allied I would get 13 months for 12 for paying for a year at a time. I tried mailing and using their website asking for their prices never received a reply on any of my correspondence with them. So I decided to cancel. Since I already paid for the year and 2 months have passed I told them I was expect 10 months back of the money I sent them. I was told I had to pay 30.00 for them to come and get the container. I asked why and was told it explains it on their website. I told I want all money back and not to take the 30.00. Why do I have to pay for them to come pick up their container? I told them I’ll keep the container and they give me the 30.00. I signed no contract with them.

    According to their website it is to offset the dropping off and pick up of containers. Why isn’t that included in the price. Why is it a separate charge? Why isn’t made clear when the company especially since I was under a different company before they became Republic. I always received a price break for paying for a year at a time. Just not this company. I can’t even get a price quote from. So I canceled. I’m out 30.00 that I cannot afford on my fixed income. They lost 2 other people on my block due prices and customer service.

    This company is pathetic! I will be calling the board of health tomorrow to report them! I have been lied to numerous times saying they are going to be picking up my recycling and trash which is now overflowing with flies all over!     I’ve been using Republic Services for a little over a year now and within the last few months I’ve probably had about 5 different missed trash/recycling pick ups. The most recent missed pick up I reported a missed pick up twice and they didn’t come pick up my recycling they had missed. I had to wait another 2 weeks to get a pick up. When I called to tell them about the countless pick ups that are being missed and I’m not paying my bill or else I’m going to find a different trash company, all they wanted to do was credit me a lousy $10, which was completely insulting.

    There is just absolutely no excuse for repeatedly missing trash pick ups. It’s not that hard to pick up trash. This is by far the worst trash company I’ve ever experienced in my life. I will NEVER be using them again and I’ll be making sure my construction business never ever uses their roll of dumpsters again. Republic just lost thousands of dollars because they didn’t want to credit me a lousy $60 for all their own mistakes. DO NOT USE REPUBLIC SERVICES!!!

    Actual trash pick up from them was "OK". It was picked up without our interference about 95% of the time. We had one incident where the operators actually dumped all of our trash out onto our yard and took our containers. There was never any explanation to why they did this, as we were following all the guidelines of the trash pickup. All we got was a small apology and replacement containers. Surprisingly we stayed with them. When it was time to move, I called to cancel service. I cancelled for June 30th, 2019 because a new quarter was set to begin with them on July 1st-September 30th and based off of past experiences I knew they wouldn't be able to correctly figure out the prorated bill. The pick up of my containers was scheduled for July 3rd. They never got picked up.

    I called the next business day (July 5th) and the rep informed me operations would call me that day to pick them up. She also put in an escalation with operations to call me. No call. I called again on July 8th and they said the pickup was rescheduled to July 10th. I informed them that they absolutely had to be picked up on that day because otherwise our buyers would charge us for not having the containers picked up. With this information, they put in another escalation for the containers to be picked up.

    On July 10th at 4pm, they were still not picked up, so I called. The rep informed me they had until 6pm. I asked what I could do if they weren't picked up at 6pm and she said to call back and she would help. She also put in another escalation. 6pm came and went and no pickup. I called at 6:30pm and the rep informs me there is nothing she can do. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me there was one supervisor for 200 employees and she wasn't able to find him. I asked her to please try to get a hold of him and she refused. She said she was not allowed to put me on hold and that I would just have to wait for her direct supervisor to get in in the morning. I asked her to review the account and see the 3 escalations that were put on this. They had 2 weeks to pick up my containers and they were well aware of my July 10th deadline - but nothing could be done.

    To avoid a $75 charge per container and the headache of dealing with the buyers disposing of the containers, I was forced to physically drop them off myself at the local Republic Services building. An unnecessary headache for something that had 2 weeks to get done and should have been done for free...all because Republic Services was too inept to do their jobs. For the icing on the cake, I just received a $6.52 bill because they "needed to" generate a final bill for me (despite the fact that my last bill was generated and paid for in March). It turns out that every time they generate a bill there is a service charge that cannot be removed even if you no longer have service. Do not go with this company. Aside from the fees that increase every quarter for no reason and with no heads up, you will find it hard to actually leave them without you doing all the work.

    We are getting very tired of the increasing amount of missed trash pick ups with Republic Trash Services. When you call after a missed pick up, they won't even give you a credit on your bill anymore. They used to. It wasn't much, but at least it was something. Now they say that if they pick it up the next day, you can't get a credit. So we are paying for a service, not receiving it when promised, and there is is nothing we can do about it. Time to look for another trash service.

    This company sucks. Kept having to call about missed pick ups. Their prices were up and down all the time. So when we canceled their service they charged us $140.00 dollars and a fuel charge to pick up their beat up trash cans that takes balls. If I would have known there was a charge I wouldn't have called them to pick the cans up. Will never use this company again.

    Republic services sucks. Our yard waste is supposed to be picked up bi-weekly. Good luck. 99% of the time they skip us. This has gone on for YEARS. I call to complain.     The trash truck came at 6am and grabbed the regular trash can instead of the recycling can. The second truck came at 7am and also grabbed the regular (now empty) trash can, leaving the recycling can. Called and was on hold for an hour. Filled out a request online to pick up the can. Nothing. Called again.... on hold. Filled out another pickup request. Nothing. Called again...finally got someone. "Sorry sir but they can't get out to pick up your trash until after the weekend." Do I get a credit? No. Horrible service.

    Our old garbage company was taken over/bought out by Republic. Since the beginning of June when they took over, I have had my can broken by the garbage pick up crew. They missed garbage pickup and then when I called about the can they replaced it the following week, but only picked up my can not my neighbors'. They advised they were changing the pickup date from Monday to Wednesday. They missed recycling 2 times and it's only picked up every 2 weeks. I called and they advised they would pick up recycling on July 4th. I said, that I didn't think they would, since that's a national holiday, and then they looked it up and said it would be the 5th.

    Today is the 9th, and it still hasn't been picked up. We called them and they said we're scheduled for the 11th. We'll see. We advised Republic we want to cancel our service at the end of the month and they indicated that if we cancel we would have to pay $30 for someone to come pick up the can. We said, we've already paid and no one has picked up garbage, why would we pay to pick up the can? We are switching companies and can not believe how poorly Republic is managed.

    I've dealt with this co for yrs and it has all gotten bad. I got cancer a few months ago and fell behind two payments so I asked for my service to be suspended so I could catch up. They had no problem charging me the 35.00 to do so and as the next couple bills came in they also kept charging me the monthly rent without ever coming to empty the container. After many calls and many different people with customer service on the phone nothing has been done. All they want is for me to send a check in the mail.

    I've been told so many times that they can see my service was stopped and the garbage had not been emptied and feel like I should be credited but still nothing. I'm not paying for several months of service without getting service. Stay away from this company. They do nothing but lie and they charge for not coming out to empty your can. How in the world can a company charge you to stop service and not come empty your can and still send you monthly bills. This is ridiculous and I will be getting in touch with Action 9 to let everyone see what a rip off these people are.

    It’s been 3 weeks. The flies and odor are horrible. Their customer service department are nothing but liars. They promise and no one comes. Finally got a local manager and he lied as well. Promised me they would be there Friday or Saturday again never came. We’ve been having storms so I’ve had to pick up my garbage that has flown all over the yard.     I have had Republic for many years & initially their service was good up until recently. They started missing pickups. First time, when I reported online, the pickup was arranged by evening. Today they are not ready to accept the garbage wasn’t picked up. Moreover the company is charging for $7.93 for pickup of garbage bag outside which wasn’t there at all. The can was less than half full. For future the driver is going to take pictures which will never be shown to us. Are we paying for such monopolies services?

    I pay for bulk pick up with this company and barely use it. I got new couches and called them to come pick up my old ones. They can't pick them up until 6 days after my phone call. I followed all the procedures and guidelines they wanted me to. Even advised they would need two people. They never came and still haven't come. I've called three times now and I keep getting reps that tell me they can't help me because the drivers don't leave any notes. I also cannot speak to a manager because they are always miraculously out. So essentially I am paying for a service I'm apparently never going to get.

    Republic Services used to be the best. The last year or so they leave bins too close to the street (cars have to drive around the bins); miss pickups (excuses are trucks out of order; route changes, etc); customer services attitude appalling; hold time to such an extent that customer services have to request a call back (which never happens); promises that "someone from Republic Services" will call back; promises that missed pick ups will be picked up the next day (never happens. Latest message for 4th of July on Republic Services voice message "Services will be as usual for 4th of July" (never happens). Pick up that's been left for 2 weeks never happens. Yet another call to Republic Services, to be told all the previous miss pick-up calls were cancelled. We are moving to another service!

But this one is the final one for me. For the 2nd week in a row now they have not picked up my garbage. I have called them every day.... spoken to the supervisor & was told it was due to a re-routing change & many were affected. Meanwhile, I was told by customer service every day that 'you are on the schedule for today's pick-up'. They never came & never called. So my garbage sits in the front of my house in 90 degree heat. Needless to say, I am searching diligently for another company. If I could give them a -5 on your rating guide, I would.

They recently increased my rates even though they haven’t serviced my account for 3 months due to historic flooding. I paid for those 3 months!     How can you mess up a trash service? It's two days out of the week and this company cannot consistently show up. When I'm missed in the Winter or during inclement weather it isn't such a big deal. To be missed for 3 weeks in a row during 90 degree weather is unacceptable. The stench & bugs this creates is embarrassing. As my neighbors don't seem to have an issue with their trash pickup service, so I'm going with their service. The customer service center is in no way connected to the route drivers, who exactly do you expect to help with no accountability? Stay far away from Republic if consistent trash pickup is what you want. They may come, they often will not.

    As of the past year they have gotten worse about pickup each week. They give different excuses when I call about my missed pickup, but they are friendly about it. I will have to admit when I do call their customer service either thru missed pickup or Accounts billing they seem to care and credit my account when pickup are missed and in a calm voice I always tell them this is getting very upsetting that I have to continue to call, and that if I didn't pay my bill they would get upset with me very quickly! As I seen recent reviews about Republic Services I now see a different picture and have plans on switching service to another company as soon as I find one. In close I do hope there is a class action lawsuit for breach of contract!

Ever since the city of Los Angeles has taken over and mandated which trash company can pick-up the trash within each designated areas...     Canceled and paid my bill on Nov 2018. While renovating this house for over a year no bill came. Then today June 26 2019 I get a bill for $63.53 for the can pickup charge! I inquired to any other charges when I cancelled my service and they said zero balance! Never received the bill they said they sent either. Now it's gone to collections a whole year and a half later!     My pick-up day is Tuesday. This week, June 25th 2019, I happened to be across the street when 'THEY' arrived, late as usual, but I digress. I use a small container, I don't make much trash. The truck picked up the container, shook it a couple of times, put it down and the container wasn't empty. I'm thinking that because I place everything in 13 gallon trash bags, that a bag got stuck some way. Did the driver get out of the truck to investigate, one might ask? NO - instead the container was lifted again, shaken to point of destroying the lid and left, full and broken in my driveway.

    This morning, I got up to the garbage being strewn everywhere, the raccoons had obviously had a field day. I'm over 70 years old and was picking up garbage at 6:30am. I called the city, they called Republic. I called the city again and was told that Republic would call me back. No call came, so I called them and was told that the company would exchange the bin, broken by THEIR EMPLOYEE, and take the cost of replacement off my bill, next week. I am not a happy camper. Does anyone know of a different company that I could use? Thanks.

    This is the worst I repeat the worst sanitation company in the state. I'm on record of having called 10 times in the past 2 mos trying to get these people to pick up my trash. It's been 3 weeks. My entire neighborhood has trash in their yards because there’s no more room in the cans. Customer no service says there’s a delay. A delay? Three weeks no pickup. Don’t use this company. Oh and if you cancel their service there’s a 75 dollar charge to pick up your can. If you don’t pay they turn you over to collections. These people are a absolute disgrace.     They miss 60% of their service. That company never shows up as scheduled. You have to call every week to make sure they pick up trash at least once a week although you are scheduled for twice a week and pay like scheduled. I cannot recommend Republic Services at all!!

    I signed up for service on June seventh, my trash was scheduled for pick up on June 10th. June 18th I cancelled service with them. They never picked up my trash, I called every day and was told a different story each time. The first story was there's construction and bridge work, well there is no bridge to my house, and there is no construction. The funny thing is the next street over some of the people use Republic and had their trash picked up. I can't understand how they stay in business with all these bad reviews. I wish I read them first. If you're looking for trash service stay away from them.

    This company literally SUCKS when it comes to service. I have never in all my days experienced a waste of time and money for service. I had to constantly contact them to have my trash picked up. My trash is supposed to be picked up every Wednesday; it doesn’t happen. When I call to report it; they would always say, “We had a truck malfunction!” The next scheduled day will be on Saturday, June 22nd. In the meantime, I have over 15 bags of trash sitting in my garage! Horrible, horrible service! Bottom line – DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

    For the past two weeks, neither my garbage nor recycling have been picked up. This now makes 7 missed pickups in 2019. When I called to report this, after also reporting on their online form, nothing happens except that the customer service people tell me they're escalating and will get someone out to pick up my garbage. When I called to cancel with them today I was told my cans would be picked up on July 9th (garbage) and July 16th (recycling). Meanwhile, I've already paid through the end of June so they still owe me one more service pickup in addition to the ones they've missed. On top of this, they've raised their rates (while decreasing services) by over 80% in the past 4 years. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you have other choices.

    It should not take a month to swap the garbage can for a different size! I moved in a new place a month ago. It took them 2-3 weeks to create a new account for me (for some reason every time I called to set up a new service, it was canceled due to some rep error...) Now, a month later, I still did not receive my garbage container. A WHOLE MONTH! I already called 5 times. Every time I call, I get the same answer from the representative, that the order has been canceled due to some internal error and they will resubmit it now. Each time I call, I am reassured that this time the order is submitted correctly and I will no longer have an issue. Guess what? YUP! Still no replacement container! This is ridiculous! I wish their service was as good as billing.

    I just moved into my new house on May 14th and they dropped of cans that week. Sent me a bill and have never picked up my trash yet. Have called in every week and still have not picked up as of today. If I did not have the ability to take trash to work my home would be a mess. Please pick a different company.     Republic Services is very sporadic in their pickups. Their recycling service is very unreliable. Recently they started missing regular garbage pickup. Not just our house, but the entire street.     I have went weeks without my trash being serviced and each time I spoke with customer service they were not apologetic at all. It was always different excuse. Today I spoke with customer service again about my bill and my experience and she would only overtalk me and disregard my concerns. She stated dryly what do I want because, "It's nothing I can do for you." I asked for a supervisor and she quickly said one wasn't available but she was more than happy to put in a complaint on my behalf. Do not use this business.     I started service in August 2018 and have had nothing but problems since then. The drivers come to your neighborhood and just seem to miss picking up the trash. The customer service reps lie to you and the supervisors don't want to work so will not get on the phone or call you back. If I could give zero stars this would be how I would rate this company. I guess since this company thinks there is no competition so they don't care if a customer complains are how they do the job. I guess no one in the state cares either, just ok with their citizens being treated like this and lack of service.

    I started service in March and was told service wAs 29 dollars a month plus a one time 50 dollar bin delivery fee. My first bill came in at 145 dollars! I called them to work it out, was give an insincere apology and told that the fees were to remain as they were the same across the board. My Mom uses this same service and said she never paid that much. I asked to make a payment arrangement and was told they didn’t do that and just to pay on the bill each month. So, I paid 40-50 dollars each mon and each month my bills remained around 140 dollars due to fees applied to my account. Then they disconnected service with no notice and sent me a reconnect bill of 224 dollars! Do not use this company!

    I had to file a missed trash/recycle pick up nearly every week. Wait times for customer service are always "higher than expected" and customer service is rarely helpful.     I had many years ago signed up with Republic Services 6-8 years ago. When a couple of years into the contract and constant increase of charges I decide to switch companies and go with a local company that values its customers. I have the new containers dropped off only to be told by Republic Services that my contract will have to be satisfied for the duration or time left on the contract. Now this contract business must be wishy washy as I do not ever remember signing a contract, outside of setting up service with them. I had signed nothing. Well I had to call the new company and they didn't have to but came back and picked up their containers and did not charge me either for the drop off or pick up of their containers.

    Well earlier this year after I found out that they no longer have contracts. I quickly called the local in city and state refuse company and setup with them. The only drawback was I had to wait for the first week of the month for my new canisters were to come. I called the old company and cancelled service due to missed pickups and rising costs that no one would explain or wanted to explain. They would pick up their containers on the very same day as the new company would be delivering theirs. My trash was stacking up in the garage just so the old company couldn't say they dumped my trash as all of their canisters were on the curb for pick up. The old company thinks I did not see what the trash truck driver did, he stopped by the trash cans and lifted them into the trash hopper and set them back down. Joke was on them. Their canisters were all on the curb empty awaiting for pick up by their service trucks.

    About 1 month later I get a bill for 145.00 dollars that was to cover the next 3 months. After 6-8 calls to this company, I finally got an answer that the original charges $45.00 was for container removal and since I did not respond to any phone calls or letters sent to me demanding payment, late fees were added. I told the lady, "First off those are your containers not mine, second I fired your company after I paid my final payment. Thirdly I refuse to pay you one more dollar and you will never see that money coming to your company."

    Your service is lousy, customer service is a joke, and no one ever calls back when you complain. You'd be better off going with a company that treat its customers like your family. I have EDCO now and wished I took their service years ago. They offer good service, and they listen to your complaints or compliments. EDCO is family owned. They even have services I have never heard of which is getting rid of bulk items which is part of your service agreement and just asked the about what can be picked up and how often can these bulk items be picked up.

    These folks are not picking up the trash like they use to. Driver is horrible and needs to be replaced. Planning to file complaint through the city and county as well as 2 family members in govt. Tire of calling these people over their horrible service.

    This company went up on their trash pickup to almost 800 a year, that is completely too much, for trash pickup??? Come on... Then when we cancelled the service after years of having them as trash pickup, they sent a pickup truck and picked up their can, ONE CAN, they sent me a bill for picking up THEIR TRASH CAN.. Will not pay it, they can send me all the bills they like, turn me over to collection agency, do not care. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, Republic Services.

    Working with Republic Service has been an ongoing nightmare for the past 2 years. I rented a house in a community that did not recycle so I opened an account with Republic. About a year after living in this community they decided to start recycling so I cancelled my account, got a refund for the remainder of the year and I thought I was in the clear. I have since received about 6 bills asking for additional payment. I have called and spoken to a different person each time and each time told they saw my account was closed and that they would remove the charge. Fast forward to my 7th call last night when the new customer service rep told me I was being charged for never returning my recycling bin. I said that I just kept using it every week when recycling came since my community started paying for it. The lady understood and said she would take care of it.

    This morning I receive a call from another rep saying that I owe them money for this recycling bin. I havent lived in this community for a year, I left the bin there since it was now a part of the community (I thought) and they want me to go back to the new owners / renter I dont know and ask them to give me a stranger the bin so that I can return it to Republic. This is absurd. If they wanted the bin back, it was out on the curb every week on recycling day, they could have taken it, or refused to pick up my recycling, I dont know. But I do not feel that this charge is relevant anymore. I didnt steal the bin, I kept using it, they had many opportunities to come get it but they are saying it was never outside. I am beyond frustrated and will do everything I can to never use this company again.

    This company in southern Virginia is the worse company. I’ve never had such bad service from anyone in the whole world. It took over a month just to get a trash can and since I’ve received the can only one pickup and nothing in three weeks. No pickups. So $90 paid already for trash service and can drop off and only about five pickups in two months of service. Although their customer service phone service is nice what they say they are doing doesn’t get done like picking up your trash. So think twice before even considering this company because trash not pick up 'cause animals breaking bags and the stink of old trash build up around your driveway. Why they stay in business in this area a wonder. I will try the competition and always share my bad service receive by this company. That doesn’t even deserve a one star out of five.     We were with this company for a couple years. Frequently, they left trash in the bottom of our can, and there was always trash blown around our yard after they picked up. Sometimes they'd delay for no apparent reason. And every year they gave us a significant price hike with no warning. So we finally found an alternative and canceled our service with them.

    Our service ended when April ended. They then sent us some very large bills. They are claiming they have canceled our service for non-payment and are charging us a fee for that. They also claim they can charge us a container retrieval fee, even though they never retrieved a container from us, because we always used our own container. And they are trying to charge us for the month of May, even though we canceled before May. I attempted to contact them twice about these mistakes, and they have ignored my communications. Instead, they sent me a nasty gram with threats of a collections agency.

    Several months in a row of skipped trash pickup. Called Republic each time and reported the issue. They guaranteed that trash would be picked up the next day... then the next... then the next. Trash never was picked up until the following week. Each time, the representative read a canned speech explaining that there were new drivers assigned to my route and that the skipped trash would be picked up. Never happened.

    Being a customer for a year I would have experienced nothing but problems with them. They took three weeks to get a can out to my house. They bill a month ahead of time and they expect it to be paid. They're all so rude and they want to explain how they like to do business. Well I'm a consumer doing business with them and I don't like to do business their way so they literally came and took my 4 yarder away, made me re-sign a contract and now I'm on the third day of waiting for my for your order to be returned by a mister. Warren in the service department I guess has basically told me to go pound sand. They are rude. I do not recommend using them for anything. I contacted waste management and my problems have been solved within 2 hours.

    We've had Republic Services since our township switched. They wrongfully charged my acct twice and they were supposed to fix it. As to this date after 3 call in attempts that they are having management take the charges off, the issue still is not fixed. Every month, they refuse to take my garbage because it's showing that I owe money. This company is "garbage".

    I moved from Michigan to Ohio and had to select a trash removal company. After researching online I choose Republic Services for my trash/recycling. I set the account up online and was told my monthly bill would be $34.50 for the trash/recycling bundle. I was also told when my bins would be dropped off. Well my bins never came - so I had to call into customer service and after 2 separate calls - I finally received my bins. They were supposed to drop off 1 recycling and 1 trash can - however they dropped off 2 trash cans. So I called customer service again and they came out and replaced the bin... and then charged me a $30 fee for swapping out the containers which was their mistake to begin with. I had to call again to get this fee removed and to also get my bill corrected as it was more than double the charge for monthly service.

    I was given the operations manager name - Paul **. I contacted him and he wanted another chance to make it right. So I gave them another chance - multiple chances really. Every time an invoice came out - I had to call as it was more than double the charges. After this last month's bill - which was also more than double my monthly charge - I was fed up and just cancelled out my service. I went with Rumpke and that is the company I should have gone with in the beginning. I live in a new construction sub where everyone will be selecting trash service - and I will make sure they all know to go with Rumpke and NOT with Republic. I am so disappointed in the service I have received with this company and that they did nothing to rectify any of their mistakes. I dont usually write reviews for any company unless the service is outstanding or extremely bad. I hope this helps somebody in their selection for trash removal.

    We just had a pick up done and the while picking up the trash can with the container grabber/clamp a couple of trash bags fell on the ground. The driver got off the truck and threw the bags back into my trash can. I thought he would go back into his truck and pick up my trash can with the clamp once again and dump the 2 bags into the truck. Instead he looked towards my house and saw if anyone was looking and just walked back into his truck and drove away.

    I've always felt sorry for any service related job (mailman, trash, recycle, courier service) where people work in all sorts of weather to help us. I've always tried to be a good citizen and keep bottles of water, a little snacks, or given holiday gifts to such workers. After seeing what happened today, I don't think I will ever keep anything to help Republic trash service employees. While I know it is going to affect another republic employee who may be innocent, I just don't think they deserve it.

    Republic needs to wake up and ask their employees to do a better job. Maybe they just don't pay them well enough or treat them well enough hence the employees don't work well enough... Unfortunately in our area we don't have any other choice of trash service else I would have switched companies. The one star I gave also does not qualify them for a star rating (even though the one star says "very dissatisfied with the experience). They are a trash service company with trashy business ethics.

    Republic Services in Hall County Georgia is an unreliable company. We were with them for several years, and recently terminated service with them due to missed pickups and blatantly deceitful customer service practices. Our trash and recycling was left to sit at the curb for weeks, and their so-called 'customer service representatives' apparently have no problem making promises they know will not be kept. We fired them weeks ago, but there are other homes in our subdivision whose trash has been sitting at the curb for at least two to three weeks. We are telling our neighbors to do the same thing we have already done - fire them and go with another company. Republic Services needs a wake-up call that they are not the only sanitation service operating in our area - provide the service customers are paying for, or get out of the business.

    My garbage can was damaged by the automated garbage truck... The garbage can was set down so hard that it broke a wheel off. I request a new can (exchange) and it was delivered very quickly; but then I get billed on 04/22/19. I call Republic Services on 04/23/19 and they agree it is their fault and will issue a credit. On 05/10/19 my credit card gets charged and I call them back. Once again, they agree it is their fault and tell me a refund will be credited to my credit card.

    On 05/16/19 the refund has not occurred so I call back and for the THIRD time I am told they agree it is their fault and will issue a refund to my credit card. But this time I ask to talk to that "supervisor" who they keep saying they are sending the request to and then I am told the supervisor sends it back to them to get it verified that it is their fault. So I ask to talk to THAT supervisor. The agent tells me that I can't talk to THAT supervisor but can be put in a hold queue until someone (in authority) can help me. The queue wait wasn't long and I was once again told that they agree it is their fault and a credit will be issued.

    I respond, it is already on my credit card so I want a refund posted to my credit card not a credit to my Republic Services account! But I am told they can only issue a credit to my account. So I ask if I can see that credit on my online account right now? I am told I have to wait 24 to 48 hours for the credit to post. I am upset but really do not have much recourse to counter Republic Services's incompetence. However, I will enter a dispute with my credit card company in 48 hours if Republic Services breaks a 4th promise.

    So I retired after twenty years of service. At the time I retired I went to my manager who at the time was Matt **. I asked him when I needed to start paying for service and he said, "Never. You have worked 20 years and you earned free garbage service for life." I thanked him and now all of a sudden I got a bill and they're taking my free service away. I retired in July 2017. I understand they are picking up cans from people who were fired. I get that. But I earned this benefit and still have not been properly explained why. Pretty damn chicken ** to me.     We were with Chef Container (CC) then Republic Services (RS) bought them. RS records showed I had 1 trash, 1 recycle and 1 yard. I had 2 yard with CC so called RS to correct their info. A year later they billed me for 2 trash, 1 yard. After 3 calls to correct their info, I CANCELLED. Summary: Stupid CS people just should not be involved in business. They don’t listen!

    Republic Services raised my bill 21% overnight. I called to inquire. They wouldn't budge. I cancelled my policy with them 2 weeks later. Costs may be going up ... but people, 21% is absurd! Do you get a 21% pay increase? People are lucky to get 3% pay increases ... and we are supposed to absorb a 21% trash haul increase.

    Two things to note:
    1. Their stock has increased 142% in the past five years. They are huge and care more about shareholders than customers or I wouldn't be writing this.

    2. Find a neighbor and split the garbage service with them, if you can. Most don't need HUGE bins every week. Cut costs by 50%. Use Waste Mgmt Or other local/regional supplier ... but not Republic Services.

    Republic Services bought Wabash Valley, my trash co several years ago. They raise their rates every billing cycle until you call. Then they roll them back only to raise them again. I cancelled my service with them for this reason and another disposal co is now available in my area for half the price. Now they keep billing me for debt that I do not owe. Also they turned me into a debt collector. They can't send me a bill of the detailed charges and every time I've called the charges are for different fees but remains 110$. Stay away from this co if you can.

    Needed a waste container for horse manure and yard trimmings. Got a reasonable price over the phone which lured us in. The price was correct on the first bill, but the rep failed to mention the drop off or setup fee, Admin fee, fuel fee, environmental fee, & recovery fee. These fluctuated over the next 20+ months. Then they jacked up the price without warning! The base price of my service went up 28.8% in one month! The other fees are based on a percentage of the base price so the entire bill increased exponentially. I called to verify with the apathetic rep and was told that this is the way it is. I retorted that this was unsatisfactory and poor form as for as customer service goes. No reaction from the rep.

    I said that the company could pick up the container at the end of the cycle. I was going to find another way to deal with my situation rather than deal with this arrogant company. They picked up the container as scheduled last month. I received a customer service phone call about my cancelation of the service. This must have been a third party service as I stated all of these reason for quitting them and the response was very non-emotional or energetic. I went back and read other reviews and now realize why there was a lack of enthusiasm. Many are very negative! My fault for not seeing this in the first place. Bottom line - DO NOT USE REPUBLIC SERVICES FOR A RESIDENTIAL WASTE CONTAINER!

    Update: I just received the final bill from these poor excuses for a service. All of the other fees were charged to me, as expected, and they added a container removal fee which is way over 50% of the service charge. What a joke. I have since purchased a dump trailer and will haul my own waste. This will probably pay for itself in a couple of years.

    Do Not Do Business With This Company. My elderly boss who is an owner of a small business began service with Republic in 2010. He has been a faithful customer who has paid every bill on time. However when he signed a contract for 139 a month for service and never one time was the bill under 300 and when I finally had enough they were charging this elderly man 769 a month for the same once a week pickup. This is unacceptable. There is no reason in the world he should have been singled out and charged this abhorrent amount simply because he wasn’t calling and complaining. When I canceled the service I did so with a certified letter and gave them 30 days. The account manager called and told me I was locked into the contract til 2022. I canceled the contract two days too late during the renewal time which I had no knowledge of whatsoever.

    After speaking with my local representative I was informed of a law that went into effect that would not allow them to continue to renew the contract without resigning. After the first rollover they are refusing to let this man go even though the canister is long gone. I will not allow them to take advantage of him any longer it is despicable. After going over all the invoices from the last 6 years and comparing it to the new Rae in the contract they were trying to get us to sign last week. He has been overcharged by over 18,000 just in the last 6 years. Shame shame on you Republic. You would think a company would care about their customers. This one does not. They will screw you every chance they can. RUN RUN screaming away from this place.

    You never know IF they will pick up your garbage on time. WHEN they don't (NOT IF) they have nothing but excuses and give you no results. You have to ASK for a refund, where they submit your "request" for a refund for "Approval". I cancelled my services with them and they charged me to pick up THEIR trash cans as a "SERVICE".     This company sucks. One morning they passed by my house and didn't get my trash. My bill was paid up to date. I called and said they would come back the next day. One day they were just sitting in front of my house looking at it. I opened the door and asked could I help them. They said I called for a pickup. The date was a year ago, which brings me to this question. Why do I have to call for pickup of grass bags? If you have a certain day to get regular trash, why not have a certain date for the other trash? WHY IS THAT HARD TO COMPREHEND?! No one could answer that.

    1) Poor management - every time I sent emails to Lauren asking for questions or updates, I rarely got the responses from her. Even voicemails got ignored. She is horrible with follow up and she is rarely in her office so phone calls usually went to her voicemails and even so, she never called back.

    2) I was overcharged in the beginning for several months - 2 containers and 1 pickup a week cost me over $500 and that did not sound right. My sister also owns a retail center and she does not pay that much even though she has 3 containers and two pickups a week. After several emails complaining, the base price was reduced.

    3) You have many hidden fees and none of this was communicated up front either verbally or in the contract. An example of this is recovery fees and most recent, I was charged for trash too full last month.

    4) Trash pickups were not scheduled several times but I still got billed for the full amount. My tenants complained and I had to hire contractors to empty them and paid them $120 each time. The driver just did not show up.

    5) Wrong size of container - supposedly I have 2 of 8-cubic yard containers but one of them is a 6-cubic yard. However, I still get charged for 2 full sized containers.

    As ALL the other 504 reviews on this site regarding Republic Services state -- this company does not deserve to be in business and certainly doesn't deserve your money. The entire company is terrible from the customer service representatives to the actual service you receive -- IF you receive it! They come and pick up when they want and if they miss you, they do not come back as told to you on the phone. Their prices continue to increase and they CHARGE $62 to come pick up the containers when you cancel -- what a joke! $62 for ONE truck to come and pick up both containers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

    2 years ago I called had pick up service set up. They charged my card for it and them came up with an excuse they don't service my area but the main office set it up and said they do. 1 1/2 years later they was picking up from 2 of my neighbors so I called back. Again told me they service there and Manistee office told me they don't. After 2 weeks of fighting them they finally picked up my trash for 4 weeks and then canceled the contract after they charged me again for 3 or 4 months service and tell me they are not refunding me at all the difference or the recovery fee. This is bull and a scam. They are a joke. Do not use these P.O.S. at all. I have been calling them since DECEMBER 2018 to get my money back they OWE me. I called the local office and the guy in charge Dave said he would make sure I get my refund but INDIANAPOLIS refuses to give me my money WHEN THEY CANCELED THE CONTRACT NOT ME.

    Recently, Republic started missing my normally scheduled (and already paid for) trash and recycling pickups, and even a "special" rescheduled pickup. I had no choice but to cancel my account and was told that my containers would be picked up (with a $30 pickup fee added on). No one came to pick them up on the date they selected. I've called to complain and reschedule two more times only to have no pickup occur. I'm very tired of going through Republic's failed process of me calling them and rescheduling. Not once have they contacted me proactively about anything - I only get an apology when I call but no real action.

    All I would need is for my two containers to be picked up, and for Republic not to mess up my billing. They told me multiple times my issue was on a priority basis and that I even had a service case number assigned. However, nothing has been done. I'm at the end of my rope, and I'm hearing that others in Overland Park, KS are dealing with similar issues. It is no exaggeration to say that I have never been more frustrated by any company in my entire life.

    We have had to beg this company to come get our trash for the past month. The service simply doesn't come. We've called and spoken to customer service and to management repeatedly. They basically tell us that there's not much they can do. What?? Their business is to pick up our trash. We pay them to do it. They don't do it. And they tell us there is nothing they can do about it? Needless to say, we have arranged to start with another service, but in the meantime, we have overflowing cans at the curb just waiting for removal. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

    We stopped our service to go with a local family owned company, (KC Disposal, we love them btw)... Paid our final bill and have been waiting for our trash bins to be picked up for weeks. I have called 5 times, been very kind setting up new pickup dates and still they sit. Our whole neighborhood is having this issue...because most of us left Republic. We even started contacting the city to see if they could assist. Terrible follow through. I would of left them NO stars if I could. SHAME ON YOU REPUBLIC???

    I initially signed up to use Republic when we first moved into our house in Zionsville because they were initially a little cheaper than their competition. Two years later, they had raised rates multiple times and missed multiple pickups. They easily missed 10 pickups in two years. That's close to 10% failure rate. In addition, after cancelling, they keep wanting me to pay all kinds of ridiculous fees. Do not use them if you have a choice.

    This company increased charge every year. Eventually they charged about 2 times higher than the market value. When I called to cancel the service, they charged me $36.30 for container removal. I felt very uncomfortable for these unexpected charges! So I was so glad to cancel their service and will not recommend to others!

    Their recycling pickup is a complete joke. There are VERY specific items that are allowed to be recycled. Several weeks ago, I had a box sized shipping box bounce out of the truck. I asked the driver to take it and he flatly refused because I had not broken down the box. MEANWHILE, I am able to see him pick up from the neighbors across the street, from my home office. EVERY single week he has picked up items that are CLEARLY NOT part of recycling. There are always plastic bags overflowing their can. There have been clothes hanging out of the can. Last week there was a 1X4 plank of wood that was sticking out of the can a good 3 feet. Yesterday there was an upright vacuum cleaner sticking out of the can. ALL of these items were picked up and dumped in the recycling truck.

    If I could leave a no star review I would. This is an absolute horrible service and company. I had this service for a good while and they missed pickups very often. The final straw came when they missed TWO pickups in ONE month. First time I went online and scheduled a missed pick up...my trash never got picked up. The next week they came when they were suppose to. Then the next week. They missed me AGAIN! I went online scheduled my missed pick up...nothing for three days. I chose to call them at this point and they said they would send someone out that day to pick it up. That day came and went and so did the week...nothing.

    I’m completely done with them at this point, so I call and tell them the whole story of how they did not provide the services I had paid for, therefore, I would like to cancel. THEN they tell me, "I’m sorry, but you have to pay us to come remove our container." I told them they should waive that fee on the account they did not provide the service I had already paid for and lied to me about resolving the issue. The representative told me they understood and would take care of the matter. Well then I get charged again for their services, like I had never cancelled. I called them and they did take care of it, but dang people DO YOUR JOB! Meanwhile I am on the phone with them and I bring up the waste removal charge and they say “I see no balance on your account, so you are good”.

    Fast forward three months later I receive a collections notice stating I have not paid them money. I call the representative and they say, "No. We did not waive your fee for cancelling with us, it was your choice to cancel, therefore, you pay." I cancelled because I wasn’t getting a service I was paying for, my trash had been missed so many times over the course of having them. However TWICE in one month with the lies of saying “we will get it taken care of today” that didn’t happen, was just too much. The representative stated I should have given them the opportunity to make it right. I did twice. They failed and continued to be a failure of a company. They do not do their job and have appalling customer service.

    I now have a reliable service that has never missed a day and comes at the exact same time on my scheduled day. Do yourself a favor. DO NOT hire this company. You’re better off taking your trash to the dump yourself. They should take themselves to the dump because they are complete trash and I’ll just leave that corny comment there.

    I started service with this company in January when I moved to Alpharetta GA. The service are appalling. Did not receive cans for several weeks, then received too many. Called and asked to take away extra cans. They did. I thought all problems solved. On April 1st they did not pick up trash. They called and said leave trash outside and we will pick up on Tuesday 2nd, they never did.

    On April 8th they picked up trash but then took away both the trash can and recycling bin. I called and spoke with 2 very rude people in customer service. I asked for Supervisor. They said supervisor would call me in 24 hours. I called back, spoke to a 3rd person and she said they would deliver a trash can and recycling can on Thursday...today. No cans were delivered. No one called me to tell me date changed to next Monday. I called and spoke to a Specialist II, Christie. Incredibly rude and with no apologies. Hung up on me. Waiting for call from Supervisor. May have to get a lawyer to get out of contract. This Company is appalling.

    Apparently, I am just one on a list of hundreds of dissatisfied people who are trapped in this service. My trash was not picked up last week and each day since then, I have been lied to that a missed pickup is on the way the next day. It is now a week later and my trash is a health hazard at this point. The level of incompetence that these representatives display is honestly comical. The worst part about all of this is that clearly nothing is going to be done about all of our issues. This company is deplorable and have trapped their customers as there is usually no other sanitation service to use. I am seeking legal advice on how to shut them down entirely. I wish I could spread my trash on the properties of those in charge of this monstrosity. Awful!!!

    I have been calling Republic Services for a month for bins pickup left by the previous renters. Each time I have called they have changed or cancelled the date for pickup date. There is a few account under the address. When I ask to check the ETA of pickup they have to go thru different account and none of them match. I am not even a customer and will never be. I have spoken to a "escalating" rep and this person is a joke.

    From West Michigan, Jenison/Hudsonville area. After many years of using Republic Services (it was Waste Management until Republic took over locally) for our waste and recycle services, we have called it quits. We always paid annually, for one entire year's service. Each year we would discuss rates with them, and get a quote for the coming year. Time after time we would pay the annual bill, and then get a subsequent billing for a price adjustment, or some other fee which would increase our annual amount. We would call customer service, get a promise of a billing adjustment, which too often did not happen. Then we would get another bill for a 'past due amount'.

    It was not until we finally got in contact with our local Republic office (Jenison Michigan) that we got the help we needed. Melissa got our bill straightened out for us on multiple occasions. However, in January of this year we once again got another billing from the Republic corporate service, as the result of a 'rate increase' (but we still had three months left to go on our paid-up annual billing). This was the final straw! So we have pulled the plug and changed to another service provider. We are fed up with the long long waits on the corporate 'customer service' phone, unfilled promises to get our bill corrected, and just the amount of wasted time we have spent on something that we hoped would be a 'once a year and done' event.

    We pay Republic Services to service (dumpster trash pick up) our 24 unit apartment complex every Mondays and Thursdays. On the 25th (Monday), they did not service our complex. Our Site Manager contacted me the following Tuesday and informed me, sent a picture of the piled trash. Called Republic Services on the 26th (Tuesday) and spoke with Customer Service rep Tasha 4:38PM, who checked their service records and confirmed the apartment wasn't serviced, they missed our complex as no service time was logged in for the complex. Rescheduled the trash pick up with Tasha for Wednesday. Wednesday came along past 3:00PM trash still wasn't picked up. This is around the time when our Site manager addressed concerns again from the Tenants at the apartment complex due to the tremendous trash pile up from Republic Service missing Monday's pick up.

    I called Republic Services again that Wednesday and spoke with Customer Service Rep Frank, whom I believe really took his time to look into our records, this issue and worked well to provide solution to this issue. Frank checked our record and the logged service times, he confirmed our complex was not serviced Monday, Tuesday and nothing for Wednesday yet. I requested for their driver to PLEASE come at the earliest time possible on Thursday (the usual scheduled day) as our complex dumpster area is starting to look like a landfill. Frank provided a reference number and made sure that their driver comes pick up Thursday morning. Thank you Frank.

    Now I hope we can all see that trash was only picked up one time last week. We have been paying for trash pick up service that should be provided twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays). My complaint more about what happened yesterday, which was the fact someone tampered with their service time records between Thursday - Sunday, and another complaint is about their customer service rep Anthony, whom I spoke with yesterday April 1st, 2019. When I called to request credit for the 1 day of trash pick up they missed, Anthony denied my request. He said that on their records, it shows that trash was picked up at 4:15PM on the 25th and kept saying that's what their record shows so they won't be giving a single credit to us. Anthony wouldn't even let me speak to the supervisor or the manager.

    Republic Services, understand how poorly you let your rep handle this situation, and this was the first time I ever requested to speak with the supervisor but he denied my request. I am still in shock how records at Republic Services are tampered with there. Whereas the 24 families living at our complex had to deal with piled up trash for days because you guys did not pick up on Monday-Wed, you got your rep Anthony there completely dismissing the customer's voice and falsely claiming a completed service that was not provided on Monday!

    Republic Services, the communication I had with Anthony showed a corrupt side of Republic Services I did not know exists. You are a company that has been awarded a contract by the City of Los Angeles with trust to maintain your integrity, care for the residents of LA, be competent with your services, and uphold the voices of your customers in the highest esteem.

    Just on our account alone, we pay over $500 monthly for your services and we pay ON TIME. We even overpaid recently so we have credit in our account. YOUR TWO REPS THROUGHOUT LAST WEEK HAVE BOTH CONFIRMED that our complex was not serviced on Monday-Wed, we even have a picture of the piled up trash due to days of trash not being picked up after the Monday, but all of a sudden your records changed over the weekend and falsely shows that our complex was serviced on Monday. That is such a sleazy, low ball claim. There is absolutely no reason to lie to make us pay for one day's worth of service you guys did not even provide. We pay for your services, but for service that was not provided, nobody should have to pay for that.

    I am requesting for us to be credited for the one day of trash pick up you guys missed last week. We were only serviced 1 out of 2 times last week. Look through our account in your records and the call logs. we have been a great customer, we pay on time and don't cause any trouble with your products/bins etc. There is absolutely no reason for us to lie, and 2 of your reps even checked and confirmed we were not serviced on on 3/25-27th. Please credit us for the one out of the 2 days you did not provide service.

    First of all customer service has a rotten attitude over the phone. No one likes their job, but seriously, get a cheerier attitude if you deal with customers. The $50 I will have to pay to cancel service with them is ridiculous and vindictive. Been a customer for over 10 years and they have consistently pissed me off. I did not know there was an increase in price, which is outrageous already, and for $5.00 they cancelled my pickup. No phone call to warn of it or give me a chance to fix the problem. Just shut it all down. No help at all.

    It took me less than an hour to fund a company that is cheaper BEFORE the price increase AND schedule me a pick up before I even get the bin from them. Very helpful. Republic strives to NOT be helpful. In cancelling with them they were also rude and unhelpful. They threatened to charge me for another month until I told them this kind of jerking me around is why I was leaving. Then they "generously" waived that one thing. And acted like I should be forever grateful to the angels in customer service. Save yourself the aggravation and headaches I suffered... Don't do business with them.

    So after they increased my bill by 20$ with no good reason, I shopped around and found a much more reasonably priced company. I cancelled and was charged an unannounced 30.00 container removal fee. I didn't find this out till I received bill 2 months later. If I had known ahead of time, there'd be a cancellation fee, I possibly wouldn't have left their company. I called to asked about it and they said the fee can't be removed.

    I received a bill for the next upcoming 3 months. On the bill it was stated that they would no longer be pick up trash in our area as of 5/1/2018 and would be picking off the trash cart, after the last pickup in April. I called to say that I have found other service and wanted to cancel my service at the end of this billing cycle, which would be April 4, 2019. I was told there would be a $30.00 pick charge for picking up my trash cart, that they were going to pick up on any way on 5/1/2019, because they could no longer provide trash service to my area. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

    Republic Services (hereafter RP) are an unethical company. Why do single seniors pay the same amount as huge families? Though I am signed to autopsy I found my bill to be over $100. When I called to ask how this happened I was informed that though RP has my email address, which it uses for other communications, saw no reason to inform me of a CCard problem by that method! So a lien could be more expeditiously applied at $200.OD. This company's practices all round are very shady.

    If I could find another provider, I would. It is Monday March 25th and our trash is still sitting out there. I called them near the end of the day on Friday and was told that they will be here Friday cause all trucks are running on schedule and if not then Sat. This has happened too many times this year. We have had times where trash has been out there for two weeks. In past years we have had 3 weeks worth of our garbage sitting out there. The Public Service Commission said that there has been multiple complaints called in on them.

    After hiring another trash removal company with more reasonable prices, I called Republic Services to cancel their service at the end of the billing cycle. Our account was paid in full at cancellation. The customer service rep was very nice, cancelled the service on the date I requested, and arranged for Republic to pick up their empty trash cans the following week. Everything went smoothly until we received a letter in the mail demanding $60. The letter stated that they wrote us numerous letters about this charge which was a complete lie. We never received anything from them regarding additional charges nor did the customer service rep mention anything about a $60 charge when I called to cancel service.

    I wrote a letter to their collections department explaining all of this, and directed them to stop sending us letters demanding payment. The following week we started to receive phone calls with a message that our service was suspended because of an unpaid bill. Again, we were threatened with possible legal action and derogatory credit reporting. I tried calling the customer service phone number they provided, but the number was disconnected. My next letter is to their corporate headquarters in hopes that someone has the authority to stop these threatening messages. By the way, we had no complaints regarding the trash pick-ups and would have given them a satisfactory review if not for this mysterious charge and their bullying ways.

    We started our trash pick-up service with a different company. However, about 8 - 10 years ago Republic services purchased them. The price increases started immediately, I would call Republic to complain periodically and the latest price increase would be rescinded. However the next quarter the price would go up again. After years of frustration, we gave up and switched waste haulers. The new waste hauler charges us 40% less for significantly better service.

    Unfortunately Republic wasn't done trying to rip us off. When we canceled our service Republic charged us $85 to pick up their cans. I called to complain and the service rep told me that I had agreed to the charge when we signed up for the service and it was in our initial contract. I replied that no such contract exist. I asked for a copy of the imaginary contract but no contract has been produced. We have refused to pay the bill and Republic Services is threatening to send the bill to a collection agency. Do not do business with these crooks!!!!

    Republic Services has a systemic problem with their Operations Scheduling Department. I requested delivery of a 3 yard dumpster. I was told it would arrive in 3 days. It did not arrive for 7 days. I requested the filled dumpster be removed and was told 24 hours. It is now 5 days later and still no removal. My city requires the dumpster be permitted. So every day it is here costs me 18 dollars extra. There is no excuse for the complete breakdown in their system. In a word their Operation Schedule Department is "AWFUL".

    WARNING do not even consider doing business with this so called waste company. They do not pick up your can every time and when you call them to let them know that they missed a pick up they still never show. I have done 4 escalations and still nothing. You can only speak to a front person and nobody that can do anything but send a message. You can not cancel your service because they ignore you and just keep billing you and then they send it to collections. This has now happened at two companies that I owned.     Giving Republic Service one star was very good for them. I am a dissatisfied customer that has my dumpster over flowing at my place of business. It is sad how we pay for twice a week pick up and on the 2nd pickup day are calling and almost begging them to pick up our trash for the 1st time of the week. This is not the first time this has happened. Our dumpster is overflowing and the trash bags that are still in there are falling out and hanging over the side. When calling them to complain about their service their response is they can put a note in my account for the driver to read but also admitted that the driver does not have to read or follow what the note states. They can choose not to. We should not have to go outside and pick up trash bags off the ground just because they could not pick it up on the days that is in our contract for them to pick up.

    As a customer I should not have to call you every week and state to you that you are NOT doing your job and holding up your end of the contract and remind you that you have to credit my account. We are paying for our trash to be picked up and should not have to beg for it to be done. Just so Republic Service knows, telling a woman over the phone that they will ask their driver to not set the dumpster down on the trash bags that would not fit in the dumpster is a very stupid thing to say. He was just trying to tell me that he didn't want there to be trash bags under the dumpster that I would not be able to get up. Places like this should not be in business and should not have an excuse for every time they do not do their job and hold up their end of the contract.

    Republic Services is not supportive of their customers. Over the past year they have neglected to pick up trash at least four weeks with no reimbursement for services not provided. When I decided to get a new provider their policy makes it difficult because they do not prorate your bill when you want to stop services which causes you to wait for a month or more.

    If you rent a can from them they charge you $35.00 to pick it up and even though you have the right to take the can back yourself. In my case they picked up the can against my wishes and told me that I could contest the bill. This is a joke because you do not have access to any person in the company who makes the decision about if your contested claim is valid or not. You just get a runaround from customer services over and over again. I believe any other service is better than the Republic Services conglomerate because they are just out to make money thus abusing their customers with unrepeatable practices and price increases.

    Our area changed over to Republic awhile back. Never had any issues with previous service - but since Republic took over, I honestly can't remember how many times I have called/messaged them to complain - missed pickup, partial pickup, etc. Due to these re-occurring issues, I have had to navigate through their website many times to try to get contact phone number or figure out how to message - and what a pain that has been. Their website is NOT user-friendly and once you find the "contact" page, the "details" screen allows hardly enough characters to explain anything! I see that they dedicate a page to toot their own horn - about how much they've accomplished, how much they do for the environment, and how well they've conformed. Great - but they are a public service entity - one that needs to start focusing on doing their job well! Wish we had our old trash pickup service back!

    This company is the definition of price creeping and bullying consumers to grab every extra dollar they can out of you. I was unhappy with the lack of service that I was receiving, along with a price 3 times the competitor, so I cancelled and they said they would come get my container. (All bills were paid and there would be no more charges to my account). After setting my can out the day they requested for pickup, I came home to my container still sitting in my driveway.

    I called Republic and they said they hadn't even put a "container pickup" in their system! They rescheduled the day to pick up the container. I then received a call a 6 weeks later stating I had a $40 charge that needed to be paid. Upon speaking with a representative, I am told I have a container pickup cost and other associated fees. Mind you, this was after I was told that there was nothing more to pay by the previous representative. This is immoral and penalizing customers for cancelling their service. I will be advising everyone I know to make the switch away from Republic Services in the area. I see their "blue" containers disappearing from local streets at a rapid rate and for good reason. Stay away from companies that treat customers like this!

    Last year Republic Services sent me a notice that city of Los Angeles, assigned their company to service my building, they removed city's trash can and replaced it with theirs. 9 months later we found out that city of Los Angeles, had no record of this and in fact we were paying to both companies. City asked them to remove their trash can and stopped their service. As a result they were suppose to refund me $1106.00.

    I called them in November and they said check was sent. Since I did not receive the check I I called in December. They changed their story, by saying "my refund needs to be approved". I called more than 6 times to check the status of my refund and this morning their unfriendly, representative said "they still need to approve it and she does not know how long it will take". She refused to transfer me to the refund department or a supervisor and hung up on me. That is a clear behavior of a unethical and fraudulent company. I will call them again until they refund my $1100.

    I cancelled my service mid January and was told I would receive a refund for the remaining 2 months. Called mid February to check on status of my refund and was told that I hadn't called back to request a refund so it would take an additional 2-3 weeks from my second phone call. Called back several times to check on status of refund and each customer service rep that I spoke with gave me different information from the previous customer service rep. Called them again on Tuesday and was told that my request for a refund was just received on Feb. 27 and that it would be mid March before I receive a refund. Requested a supervisor call me to discuss my frustration with the service and I am still waiting for a return call. I will keep calling them until I receive my refund. Will never use this company again. The reason I cancelled my service in January was because of horrible customer service.

    We cancelled our contract with Republic Services because of excessive charges and spotty services on Jan. 11 with the next bill due on the 14th. Today, March 4, we received a past due (never got a prior bill) for 174.30. $60.00 was charged for them to remove their own barrels which we had not been told about in advance. When we told them we cancelled on the 11 of January, we were told that we were charged for January even though they did not collect our garbage in January.

    We had already contracted with a more reliable and less expensive company. This is an awful consumer practice. This company should be investigated by consumer affairs. We are retired seniors and live on a fixed income. It's terrible when companies like Republic Services take advantage of the elderly this way. We're sorry we ever did business with them. We are paying them 174.30 for essentially removal of their own barrels and no garbage pick up. We are only paying them to protect our excellent credit.

I am lucky to be a business in Spooner so I can go elsewhere, I feel sorry for the residents of Spooner that are stuck with these people.     This company bought out a smaller trash company serving North Central Ohio. Since this takeover, service has declined badly to the point of non-existence. During July and August of 2018, they simply stopped service entirely. Called their "customer service" and cancelled my account. 2 months later, they send me a bill for the full service. I wrote them informing them no service was provided and I refuse to pay for a service that was not provided by them. Now, they have turned me over to a collection agency with the threats of harming my credit rating. This company is awful and the states who they operate in should investigate their business practices.

    I have been with this company and their predecessor for over 30 years. Recently they doubled my bill to 600.00 per month for weekly pick up of two yard container. I complained. They agreed immediately to cut in half. 300.00. But I noticed my bill is actually 400.00. 100 for environmental fees. I did some searching. Found a new company for 98.00 a month for same service. No added on fees. Total charge 98.00. Republic has been robbing me for years. They threatened me that we had a contract. It’s not a contract. It’s an agreement. They want me to pay a cancellation fee of 6 months. They agreed to lower the bill to 72.00 a month plus 25.00 in bs charges. Total 102.00 a month. Ridiculous.

    I pay for weekly trash pickup which I do not get. I live on a busy road and see their trucks fly by my house without stopping to get my trash. I call and complain and they tell me they will put me on the schedule for a next day pickup which they do not do. They frequently tell me just bring my container back to my house and they will pick up double trash the following week. This means a lot of my trash will not fit in the bin so I have to leave my trash bags outside by the bin and the animals get into it and make a big mess. I have called customer service several times and even called corporate but no one cares. I have been with this trash removal company a long time and always pay my bill on time. This past year they have really gone downhill and none of their employees or corporate seem to care. Time to find a different trash removal company!

    Spotty inconsistent pickup of garbage on scheduled days. 50% of the time we would not receive a call or notice telling us of the change. Finally, December 1st was the billing date for the next quarter (3 months). A couple of weeks after the billing, enough time for most to pay the bill, they sent a "cancellation of service" notice effective January 14th for the entire neighborhood. Pretty sneaky to get everyone to pay first. Many stories in the neighborhood of not getting refunds for unused service. I stopped payment on my check as soon as I received their cancellation notice as I knew of their reputation. After 6 weeks of arguing about the amount due and threatening calls from Republic to turn me over to a collection agency I finally received my discount off my bill for unused weeks.

    The phone representative gave me the discount while making sure to get her disparaging remarks in. I just received the bill and the discount was not what she told me on the phone plus they added another charge for picking up their container. This was not discussed or mentioned when they asked me if I wanted to buy the container. I would have been better off buying the container. End result...bill was back where they wanted it to be in the first place. Despicable people and company.

    I have been a customer for years. All of the sudden since the first of the year they stopped coming. I have called numerous times and they keep promising pickup. Corporate got involved and managed to get it picked up once. They haven’t been back since. Corporate has stopped responding to my messages. My trash is overflowing. It was windy and rainy today so I came home to trash all over my front yard. No one cares when you call. You can’t talk to anyone in management. They give you all of the reasons why they can’t help you and no effort to trying to help! Totally disgusted that a customer could be treated so badly. So be warned, do not use Republic Services for your trash.

    We have been receiving trash pickup for 6 years but have not received a bill of any kind. Not even for the people who previously lived in our house. So we thought it was being paid by our landlord or property management company. Well 2 weeks in a row they knocked out our cable. We complained. Now we have a letter stating that our "vacant" house should not be getting trash pickup. Umm... Why have they been doing it for 6 years and how are they getting paid if there's no account here?? And who's at fault/liable for this mistake? I mean if we let our utility or cable go for 6 years... we'd be SHUT OFF!

    I needed to dispose of some construction materials in my property due to a remodeling, during the year (2018) I hired 3 times Republic Services dumpsters. The first time they delivered the wrong size container and it was a mess to correct that mistake since they charged me $225 each time they removed or brought the dumpster. The last time, I had the dumpster 3 weeks, it wasn't full, I just got off the phone with them, after overpaying $600 for a small dumpster they are sending me to collections for an extra $110! This is ridiculous, each time they just inflate their prices and scam you over the phone when you agree to their "estimated" prices. NEVER hire this service with them.

I started putting recycling with trash, let them sort it out! They gave me same line as other reviews promising to "escalate", pick-up the "next day", and to have a supervisor call me. No communication at all, similar to so many other reviews. They should be ashamed of their service but I only hear contentment in voices of "customer service" for complaint calls. I'm glad I don't work there!

    Price Gouging of a Long Term Customer 2006. I stayed with this company far too long. In my defense, I was simply too busy to see this royal gouging coming and with the account on auto-pay it took my last bill going over $600 that, I finally got fed up and decided to look around. Yes, Scott of Saint Paul, MN, I'm having the same issue! We have several other trash services in this area, and I was stunned when I realized that I could be paying less than one-fourth of what Republic was charging me for the exact same service! Republic's base monthly service fee is not only higher, but then they also add additional "environmental fees" and other charges that are simply unexplainable and have no legitimate basis. I want a refund of these ridiculous price increases but know in corporate Republic that's not going to happen. Has anyone investigated filing a class action lawsuit against this company? I don't know how they continue to get away with this.

    After a whole month of missed pick-ups I cancelled service. Had to call them 4 times because they would not come and pick up their cans. Once they did come and pick them up they sent me a bill for the pick up. $86.00!!! All you get is a call center when you call customer service, so you really don't get customer service for your area. GO LOCAL!!! They didn't charge me to bring them when I started with them over 5 years ago. It says on my invoice 2 lifts per week - I was doing good to get 1. Maybe I should bill them for all the pickups they didn't do over the years!

    Republic lures customers in with cheaper prices than competitors. But once you sign up, the service price has increased with nearly every quarterly billing. When they missed a pickup service, I had difficulty getting them to credit my account. And now upon cancellation, even though they haven't completed a single pickup this month, I will be charged for the full month. I would happily go with any other service provider and would not recommend them.

    If you have a choice in garbage/recycling removal, stay away from this company. We caught them throwing our recycling into the garbage section. We had to call and remind them to pick up on numerous times. They charge $30 to deliver cans and $72 to remove them. Very dissatisfied. Would be curious to see if they truly recycle.

    Cancelled trash services 11/21/18. Account was paid through 11/30/18. On 2/4/19, receive letter charging me $60 and that they sent numerous letters regarding this. The letter also stated that if no payment is received in 10 days, they would report me to collections and credit agencies. Never received letters or emails stating I owed additional money. Called Republic and the CSR indicated the charge was for pick up of the trash and recycle bins. I advised I was told they could not charge me for pick up of their own property and they had nothing to say. When I signed up with another company, they forewarned me Republic would do this and that it is unlawful for a company to charge you to pick up their own property. How can they justify charging $30 for trash bin and $30 for recycle bin when the last payment I made was $76.53. What they are doing to people is not right and something needs to be done.

    1. Republic frequently misses the trash pick up day for up to a week. In fact other customers complained to the town about not picking up their trash. 2. Continually raises their rates for poor service. 3. Charges $91.00 to pick up their trash bins when you cancel their poor service.     This week I placed my trash can in the exact same spot as I do every week without issues and they did not take it. I called to get it picked up and the customer service lady told me they would be out the following day. The next day came and went and my garbage still sits on the curb. I called customer service again and they stated they have up to 48 business hrs to fulfill my request. This was told to me the day previous when I scheduled said pick up. Since this is a Friday that puts me all the way back to my next scheduled trash pick up day (they also delayed us a day this week without notice because it was cold).

    They expect me to pay my bill on time, which I do, but they apparently do not have to provide the service I pay for every week. I didn't get an, "I'm sorry this happened, let's make it better," nothing. Just an, "Oh well. Our driver says he couldn't get to it." I unfortunately cannot change companies because the town I live in does not allow other companies to come within the city limits or I would left this company after the first week. They are cheaper but know that you get what you pay for.

    Their trucks dump trash all along your neighborhood when they do the over the top dump. They miss picking cans 30% of the month. They won't come back after you call.     So we had a winter storm lasting 4 hours Monday morning. Republic decided to suspend operations until it was safe to pick up trash without notifying their customers. TWO DAYS AFTER THE STORM and the roads were clear and DRY yesterday and they still did not pick up trash today. You cannot complain to them as they have deactivated their customer service. They were not answering phones today and so I had to go online to find out their lame reason as to why they did not pick up our trash. TERRIBLE company. They charge less than some others in Colorado but you get what you pay for. Don't waste your money or your time.

    When I first started with this company my garbage removal was 80$ a quarter. After a year it started going up every quarter. Two and half years later I was paying $170 a quarter. I thought maybe it was because gas prices were going up but when I called other companies they were charging a flat fee of $59 a quarter! Called and canceled my account and of course they charged me $30 to come pick up the cans. I would strongly recommend NOT using them as your waste removal company.

    This has happened multiple times with Republic Services. They don't show up on a week and don't make up for it. I wind up having to haul trash myself because I don't have enough garbage cans to hold the trash. Can't leave unprotected bags out of cans for obvious reasons. They say they'll come out the next day and never do. I've had to go to the Attorney General twice to get refunds when they've missed multiple weeks in one month. We are stuck with them. No other choice.

    The Republic Waste driver drove too close to the mailbox and cracked it as he was approaching the trash receptacle. It's on the other side of the driveway. There is hydraulic oil on the mailbox. They claim if no one saw it then they are not responsible. We live in a gated community and no other trucks could have hit it from the side like. We had snow on the road and I believe since he couldn't see the edge of the street he hugged too close as he came up the hill and hit it on the side. Republic acts as if this never happens and I'm lying.

    When I called to start service, they said they would deliver the receptacles the following week on Wednesday. When I got home on Wed. I called to see if they were scheduled to drop off yet that day. The answer was no, but they would get them out Thursday. When I got home their office was closed so I called Friday and they weren't scheduled. In fact, they hadn't even recorded my start service date. DON'T use them!

    We were calling customer service every other week letting them know they missed our pick-up again. They were missing at least one, but usually two pick-ups a month. After six months of poor service and constant monthly increases, we discontinued the service. After stopping the poor service, they sent us another invoice for picking up the container. I would not recommend using them.

    I have used this service for approximately 2 years. In that time I have had the following complaints. Inconsistent billing dates and cycles with unknown fees. Inconsistent pickup. Poor customer services. EXCESSIVE disconnection fees ($97) when requesting to stop service, which took three month to finally get disconnected. When calling to speak with management regarding complaints, they insist that I am in the wrong and refuse to assist with fixing the problem.

    We have had Republic Residential Trash Service for over a year, every month the Bill goes up, so you call them and haggle. They reduce it for a month (Suppose to be 3) then it goes up again. Over the course of a year it became a constant 2-3 month ordeal to have to call them and haggle the bill. Finally after a year I have had it! You're fired!

    *My Final Bill Experience* Now I'm getting hit with a $50 container removal fee plus they tried to hit me for another month when I was paid until the end of the month and the balance should be ZERO. So, I called them up and tried to get to the bottom of this erroneous Bill. They won't waive the $50 Container P/U fee and Reduced the $33.16 Bill to $5.09 so $55.09 to get them out of my life! I received my final bill (I hope). It is $83.16 and past due. These people are nuts! I paid the $55.09 I was told to pay on the phone. I'm NOT paying any more, Good Riddance!!!

    I have had a few trash services in the past and by far this is one of the most poorly run companies I have ever come across. Going from a mom and pop company, I stupidly moved over to Republic based on the convenience of the many pay methods and price. Welp. You get what you pay for. Not only is the service appalling (missed pick ups, trash left on my lawn, unknown holiday/weather delays), but the price does not include the MANY hidden fees and proved to be more than my previous service.

    On top of all of this, their customer service is a joke. EVERY person I have spoken to over the phone tells you something different and reads off a script. I almost feel bad for the customer reps on the phone because it is overwhelmingly obvious that they don't have any training and are only able to see what is on their computer screen. Calling will only make you more frustrated because the other person on the line seems to either not actually be able to take care of the grievance or is rude and does not want to.

    I cancelled my service in October and paid the current balance over the phone as well as provide them with my new address for the last $12 invoice. I was told that there would be a $12 removal fee for the bins that I would receive in the mail. It is now mid-January and I have since moved. I just received a Final Notice for a bill from November for another 3 months of service that I never used and that they were sending the bill to collections. How is this possible if I cancelled my account in October!

    I called today to be told that this current letter (dated 1/10) is incorrect and that the current charge was credited back to my account. I then found out from a 3rd customer service rep (kept being placed on hold and they hung up on me every time) that my account was credited twice for $18 & another amount for $3, not the $92 they said I owed. I was then notified on the call that the removal fee was actually $18 and that they had no recollection or understanding of what the $12 was. When I explained that I am happy to pay $12 and not $18, I was sassily told that if I don't pay that amount today then I would be sent to collections.

    When I asked to receive a new invoice via email, they no longer had it because my account was closed. So how can you close an account and all the information in it, yet still continue to charge the account for additional services that were cancelled. Breaking up with Republic Services is just as bad and if not more infuriating than trying to cancel a gym membership. Even when you think you are all said and done, be prepared to get random invoices or charges well after you have cancelled your account. STAY FAR FAR AWAY!

    This is the very first time I will write a review ever. I was a Republic customer for years, and have had several missed trash/recycle pick-ups. However I canceled end of Oct 2018 due to price increases. Two huge bins sat in front of my house for 2 weeks after I cancelled. I had to call Republic twice to remind them to pick up their containers - I will not be responsible in case of damage or loss, besides the fact that they are eyesores/taking up property space. Last week I received a final notice bill (prior to Collection Agency) for $56.00. I then called to question it and was told by Brianna that it is the container removal fee. It was never disclosed to me, during my cancel & reminder calls that there is a $56 container removal fee.

    She said that they are trained to disclose that information but since I was not told, she will waive 50% & I am to write them a check for $26.00 instead. I asked to see the "container removal fee policy" in writing and she said that it is not, & it is one that they have to charge customers for. And she adds that she is only charging me half the fee - like she did me a favor. Today I wrote the check, as I decided to pick my battles, & this is not one of them I will stress over. Then a thought came up for me to write a review. I may or may not mail my check, I have not decided.

    My $100 a month dumpster ended up being almost $300 a month. In addition to a drop off fee for it, I was charged a fee for picking it up. It was picked up 3 weeks early and I was charged for the entire month. Every person I spoke with at the company gave me a different answer! They don't train their people either! After looking at the reviews, it is my opinion that Republic Services makes a habit of defrauding people. Most likely because it now has monopolized the garbage business.

    I ordered a dumpster because when I had just cans at my residents, I either had too many sacks, they were too heavy or something was always wrong. I chose to get a dumpster with a lock. The lock could never be used because the truck never closed the dumpster! Very poor service. No choice for many, many years. If competition was allowed, this company would not have any business! It is obvious to me that Florida is not the only place where their business practices are suspect. I believe an investigation should take place.

    Republic Services is the worst. Terrible service and even worse customer service. I haven’t had yard waste removal for 6 weeks. Called and was told they were “very sorry” and would remove it the next day. Came home to full bins again, called and was told “the driver refused, sorry. They’ll try again on the next scheduled date”. I’ve never had such bad service without options to switch to a better company. I guess that’s how they get away with it.

    READ ALL THE POSTS. THEY ARE FACTUAL. I strongly suggest NOT USING REPUBLIC SERVICES. They are a shady company with ridiculous charges and unavoidable, unreasonable random rate increases. Even if you experience misfortunes and unavoidable downfalls in life Republic will not work with you. They immediately present you with legal ramification and extraneous charges. My business closed, due to circumstance beyond our control. I rented out the property to a different individual. I own the property, but the new lessee has no need for the service. I contacted Republic to let them know that I had to terminate the service and they immediately threatened legal action and penalty fees. The property has been leased out for Agricultural purposes. We are forced to keep and pay for a trash can that we will not use.

    This is the excerpt from the notice I received from them. I have left names off it; "Per our conversation attached is the signed 36 months contract you signed back on 2/5/2017. As of right now you still under contract until 1/31/2020. If you wish to close your account we need to receive a Certificate Letter requesting cancellation to the account. Also, due to closing account before time you are breaching your contract meaning you will have to pay six months worth of your last invoice plus Removal Fees."

    There are more reliable, less expensive companies out there. Do your leg work. Use extreme caution if you chose to do business with Republic Services. I also find it ironic how some of the posts report problems with the company previously named Waste Management. Wonder if this might have been some type of corporate name change to cover up and disassociate themselves with previous bad business reports. Republic is a heartless, insensitive company. I feel for the workers because I have seen what happens to these companies. I wish them all the best. In closing; My suggestion is save the hassle of legal threats and removal fees from the beginning. Don’t ever get the service.

    We used them for many years and their service was actually pretty good. Their billing was another matter. They consistently tried raising their rates without any advanced notification which meant you needed to call and negotiate it back down. Their last rate increase was 2.5x the current price, going from $95/quarter to $235/quarter. And they wouldn't negotiate the price. After I left them, I received a "final notification" bill from them threatening to send me to collection. Of course, this was the first bill I received. They want $60 because they picked up their cans. This was not part of the agreement when I signed up with them many years ago but they claim it is written in their fine print. Total thieves. Never, ever use these guys.

    I don’t understand how these thieves stay in business. No matter where you look under reviews they rate one star, and from my experience with them, that’s only because there are no negative star ratings!! My wife and I had used their waste removal services for about 5 years and just being lazy, we accepted their crooked price increases every quarter. Little did we know that when we moved and quoted other waste removal companies, we were paying over twice as much as the competition! Then we cancel and we’re promised a refund and now waiting on 2 months with nothing.

    Every time we call it’s the same ** story that “it’s being processed.” They’re finding any way possible not to give us our money back! We’ve now filed a complaint with the BBB. Again, all you have to do is Google Republic Services and you will literally find thousands of 1 star ratings and reviews, followed by Better Business Bureau complaints (under the Google search) for their unethical business practice. This further demonstrates the terrible “company” they are. Do not, I repeat, do not use these crooks! There are a lot of 4-letter words I would love to use in this review if I could!

    I had been with Republic for 4 + years in this location. When they started having union issues, they kept missing or delaying trash pickup and did not pick up recycling at all. I called, but no response; I did not pay the bill for the upcoming quarter and engaged another service. Republic finally called me; I canceled. I then get a bill charging me a cancellation fee, as well as for picking up the containers. They would not refund the amount for their non-pickups. I was in a service business for 29 years. Mistakes will be made, but this is the worst response (continual) I have ever experienced. I hope the lifetime loss of a previously loyal customer is worth the $88.90 they are charging me.

    The trash pick up is fairly reliable in my area but the problem I have with Republic Services is that every quarter my bills is higher than agreed with new phantom charges and misc. late fees, etc. Even after I canceled the service, they sent me a bill for another three months of service, as well as container removal fees, late fees, and phantom taxes.

    We have been with this company since 2006. When our neighbors jumped shipped due to non pickups, we remained until now. In the past year, they have missed pickups 3x. The last time is it! Friday is our pick up day, but due to the holiday it was delayed a day. Usually the trash is picked up by 630am. So when it wasn’t picked up this past Saturday Dec. 29. I called around lunch time. The representative said there was a 4 hour delay due to a truck being out of service, but it would definitely be picked up by 5pm. I have 2 trash cans sitting near my sidewalk “overflowing”. I called twice this morning. First, I spoke with a representative named Michelle out of a call center in Charlotte, NC. She added me to the schedule for pick up today.

    Of course, I voiced my feelings about the entire ordeal and told her I will call back every hour until my trash is picked up. I called a different number thinking I would speak with someone in Georgia, but it went right back to the center. Again, I voiced my frustration. Then I called billing to get clarification for when I cancel service. This company is the worst, because they bill you for 3 months in advance. So our bill is paid through Dec. 31st and we can’t even get our trash picked up. Ridiculous! I will never recommend this company.

    They are the worst, I have been with them for about three years and they have forgotten to pick up my trash about 6 times. I call and cannot speak to management. They lie and promise that I'll be picked up later in the day and they don't come for days. Right now I on a Saturday evening right after Christmas my trash is sitting on my curb and has not to be picked up. It is 4:03... I have called and am waiting on management to call me back.     We have been a Republic customer for several years. For the most part, we have been satisfied with the services. However, there is one aspect of their service that has been a constant frustration to us. We missed getting our cans out for a one day delay pickup (Christmas holiday) and called three times that same day to ensure we could get our trash and recyclables picked up. I take full responsibility for not getting the cans out, but we were assured three times that they would be picked up that day. They were not. I called again the next day and was again assured of a pickup. Once again, they were not picked up.

    The best they could do was schedule a pickup for our next scheduled pick-up date. Since we have been a customer, they have failed to pick up our trash each and every time we have called for a missed scheduled pickup. Also, during the course of speaking with their representatives, we have been given conflicting information about what they can and cannot do for us leaving us completely confused. Seriously considering switching services.

    Because of where my house sits I can only assume, Republic Services recycling has been taking our trash and putting it in either the next door neighbor's yard or the one next over to make it easier for the trash guys. I’m sure this is due to laziness however it caused our neighbors to look thru our trash, bang on our door and threaten us with personal details because they extensively went through our trash. This ruined our Christmas and caused us a lot of problems and anxiety. I would seriously consider using anything else because this has turned into a legal matter.

Over time, with at least two complaints the rate was reduced by Republic, however, when I finally called them to cancel he offered a much reduced rate from what I had been paying. It was not as good as what I was going to pay with the new service so I still cancelled, but I asked why I was not offered this much better rate from the get go because obviously I had been overpaying for quite some time! He apologized and said he did not know why I was not offered the cheapest rate. I had even previously asked a Republic rep if what I was paying was their least expensive rate and she said yes. I think you and I know why I was not offered nor told about their best rate till I was leaving. Lying jerks!

    I was a customer of Republic Services and auto-paid by credit card on a quarterly basis. In November, I called to cancel services (they were already the highest priced provider in my area and they just raised their rates ~20% higher) which they scheduled for 12/6 (apparently, I can only cancel at the end of a "full month" of service). Anyway, they emailed 11/21 stating they owed me an $80.79 credit for the 2 months of unused service. On 12/21 they sent, via email, me a bill for $21.44 I called on 12/24 to investigate. I was informed on 12/24 that not only that I wasn't getting a refund but that I owed the @21.44 for the (never disclosed or agreed to) "standard container collection fee". $102 and change to pick up containers? It cost ~$10 / week to collect the trash but you try to steal $100 from people for picking up your property? Total scumbags.

    I live in a small senior housing area where there are 43 individual units. Our pickup day is Suppose to be Friday every week by contract. If a holiday falls in during the week. Then the pickup is to be done on that Saturday. In the last 5 holidays. They have not picked on Saturday so our trash sits on the side of the road until they come. They will come on a Tuesday and then skip picking up on that Friday. So essentially they are screwing us as the bill is prepaid. They use to come around 2 in the afternoon on a Friday. But lately they have been coming before 8 AM and as early as 6 AM before people have a chance to put their stuff out.

    I live in Renton. We do not get a choice about our garbage pick up. I have had horrible service from day one of their contract. They hit my car and trailer with the cans many times, someone has come out many times, sometimes even with the wrong info about others. I have offered to build a holding place, it seems to work for others but they say no need. Ya think. Yesterday they blocked my car in the driveway with the empty cans, they on the other side of the YARD BACK WHERE YOU GOT THEM FROM. Let me know if you have this same issue and both the city of Renton or Republic has done nothing about for way too long.

    We had been Republic Services customers for over twenty (20) years. The quarterly price increase steadily for several years. As a concurrent you don’t really think about what you pay to have your trash hauled away. The drivers are friendly, courteous and picked up what was put at the street even if not “exactly” placed by the rules. The last straw came when discussing the price with a neighbor and found a new hauler was charging more than 60% less for the same size containers and frequency.

    I called Rebuplic to see if they could get close - not match get close. No dice! Cancellation set for end of Nov. containers to be picked up first week of December (no mention of a “container recovery fee”) did not happen. Called on 12 December and asked to have containers picked up. Still no mention of a “recovery fee”. The containers were picked up 14 December. This morning received and e-mail from Republic with an invoice for over $80.00. Called them - lo and behold a “container recovery fee”. Called to try to get it waived - no dice. Next call will be to the township.

    I started with Republic Services back in April of 2016 when I moved to Marshall Michigan. Everything was going okay, even though I wasn't really happy with how much they charged for their services. My wife and I recycle and compost over 80% of our waste, so it took us 3-4 weeks to fill our container (the smallest container that they offer). I knew that there wasn't much that I could do about it, and would still have to pay the full amount that everybody else pays. After the first year, only putting my container out for pick up maybe once per month, and after they missed those pickups 50% of the time, they increased my quarterly charges by almost $10.

    This really bugged me, especially since I'm having to pay an additional 10% for maybe 3-5 pickups per 3 months (actually 2-3 pickups, since they regularly missed my container when I did have it out). I called customer service to complain, and to ask if they offered a different service package for someone with my limited needs. I was told that they didn't make special considerations for people like me (i.e. prorated charges for limited and unreliable service that I was receiving). I just put up with it like this 3/4 of the way through 2018, with an average annual increase of around 10% to my bill, with the same shoddy service. Finally I called and canceled my services with them, but I strategically waited until the end of a billing cycle, so that I didn't have any additional charges. I was lead to believe after canceling my services, that I had a zero balance.

    Three months later I was surprised by a letter in the mail from them, stating that they had repeatedly attempted to contact me about my past due amount of $38, and that they were going to refer me to collections and report me to the credit agencies if I didn't call them and pay immediately. This made me sooo mad. They DID NOT try to contact me, I never received a letter, nor did I receive a phone call from them regarding this phony bill. I have excellent credit (800+), and pride myself for working so hard to achieve this score, and for them to lie and unnecessarily threaten me like this really irritated me. So I called the billing department and spoke with a nice woman who was sympathetic to my issue.

    She had a hard time figuring out what the bill was for, and finally decided that it was a cancellation and final pick up fee that nobody EVER explained to me. So I just paid the stupid bill. I'd pay way more to protect my credit, and they obviously take advantage of people like me, who very reliably pays my bills, and usually a week or two early. The lady said that she would file my complaint with the company. It's now weeks later, and I NEVER received a phone call from anybody. I would never do business with this company again, and would certainly advise others to stay away from Republic Services! I now take my trash into the local landfill on my own, and pay 90% less. I'll never look back. Goodbye Republic!

    Message to Republic Services: Save your threatening letters for the customers that don't reliably pay their bills, and treat your customers that provide you with reliable business (even though your service is far from reliable) with respect. It's way more expensive to find new customers, than it is to keep your current and reliable customers happy.

    Their drivers keep on missing our trash cans (we are a corner house with no curb to our right) because they don't want to get out of their trucks to roll the trash cans. This is a company of a bunch of spoiled workers who treat you like they are the customer. They requested that we place the trash cans on our driveway (blocking our driveway for about 6 hours with 3 different types of trash cans for their majesty to Not get out of their truck). We locate our trash cans on our left curb which is plenty of space but that would require them to get out of their truck, we really have no other option and they refuse it.

    The next step after this is having a 3rd party force them to do their job or quit and be replaced. That would be possibly the city officials or a judge. These people just missed picking up the entire street 2 weeks ago. They keep on missing their jobs. Imagine of a USPS driver asking you to bring the mail to him from the mail box instead of him getting out of his truck, lol. This is just ridiculous.

    First, their drivers would empty the cans while the truck was rolling, sometimes spilling trash onto the street and leaving the cans in front of everyone’s driveway. Recently they left a bag of yard clippings and I called them about it and was told they’d send someone to get it. I called about it for 5 days straight and each time they said it would be picked up the next day. They never came. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was transferred to someone’s voicemail. I left a message and was never called back. This Monday they inexplicably picked up half the subdivision’s trash and left the other half.

    When I called to ask that my trash be picked up, they said they’d escalate it and promised to pick up the trash. Many homeowners called as well and were told the same thing. We’re still waiting and based on my past experience with them, they’ll just wait until the next trash pickup day to get the missed trash. It’s a stalling practice. Customers are paying for weekly trash pickup but are not getting what they paid for. They always apologize and promise to take care of it, then do absolutely nothing, They are in my opinion the absolute worst choice for sanitation service.

    I was a loyal customer for 2 years before they raised my bill one month. I called them and was able to get it lowered back to my introductory rate again the first time. I had a hard cap on how much the auto-pay could withdraw and a few months later I got a notice that the price had been raised again. I called several times over the course of a month trying to get in touch with my sales rep (the call center people told me they couldn't lower the price, which is understandable) and never heard from her.

    Then when I was finally able to get in touch with her she told me that I should be happy that my bill had gone up by 40% a month over the past two months because I still had one of the best rates she'd seen. I asked to speak to her supervisor and was never contacted by him and then was charged an equipment pick-up fee for them to recover their own property. This company does not know how to communicate and has all kinds of hidden fees. Do not use them for trash service.

    I have NEVER dealt with such a screwed up company! I was a very satisfied customer of 10 years until July 2018. Then, the service issues started... Missed pickups, promises to pick up, no show on rescheduled dates, more phone calls than I can count, more empty promises! I finally gave up and canceled my service on Sept 20. Then the battle to pick up the bins started. Same thing... Calls and no shows. All the while my HOA is losing patience as my bins stayed at the end of my driveway for weeks!

    Finally the empty bins disappeared around mid November. I thought we were done as I had told them several time that no way in hell I was paying $55 per bin for removal. Guess what... I received a “final notice” yesterday for $126... Called the useless call center AGAIN! They tell me my account is $58 past due... **! Now waiting for a “supervisor” to call me by Friday... I won’t hold my breath. Maybe I should charge them for the hours I've spent on the phone with them and I’m not done yet!

    Republic Services missed my trash pickup 3 weeks in a row. I had to go buy 2 new garbage cans because I didn't have any place to store the trash that Republic didn't pick up. Called them each week to complain to no avail. After the third week they missed my pickup I called and canceled my service and was told there was a $50 fee to pick their can from my residence. I never agreed to a pickup fee for them to pick up their own can. Typical Corporation, just dream up any way they can to get money from you. Will never deal with these people again.

    I had a horrible experience with Republic Services. They kept increased their billing every year. So, I switched to another company. Now they are billing me for collecting the trash cans. I never signed any contract, nor any agreement that I would pay for such trash can removal services. But they still are asking for money. Please note, previously, I have changed trash collection services before, and I never had to pay for such amounts. Please be aware of Republic Services.

    We received service price increases over the last three quarters without any explanation. Upon researching other providers, we identified Republic was significantly higher. After following up with them, we cancelled our service. The trash can was to be picked up the following week, 10/31. When it was not picked up, we contacted them. Republic had picked up the can from our previous address from 4 years ago. It took numerous calls to get our can picked up on 11/13. We have now received a bill for the pick up of a can at our old address and our current address totaling $95.22. These fees were never disclosed in any of our discussions. The previous address charges were in error and have been credited. However, the remaining bill is $51.57 to pick up a garbage can on an established route.

    Myself and all my neighbors just had our rate increased without notice by about 80%. A few people called up to complain to no avail, they aren't budging. Our local competitors still have the average quarterly price around $70. Republic jumped the price from about $74 to $130 per quarter. We think it's because they want to exit residential. This move gets people to cancel without them having to take steps to kick people off the service and all the bad exposure from that, all the while pocketing the extra revenue. I feel bad for our driver, he's been very reliable for the last 17 years.

    I am a small business owner who went through a nightmare with waste management for the same issues, so we went with Root, but their routes were bought out by Republic, little did I know that they are the same culprits (Waste Management) that I had contracted in the past year until now. So I am getting the same shoddy services, missed pickups, and excessive pickup charges. I called to inquire as to when our contract is up for renewal and they send me this nasty letter: “I understand that your company desires to terminate your agreement with RS, as we have been unable to resolve your concerns, if you consider your decision to terminate we are open to discuss renegotiation of the current terms, if you do not, I can offer the following:

    You can elect to terminate our agreement as specified in our contract by certified mail 60 days prior to expiration. We will accept liquidated damages in the amount of $591.00, along with 197.43 for services rendered and $108.00 for equipment removal. If you remove our equipment we charge a whopping $850.00 per container.” I have two. I must reply no later than Nov 30, 2018 or they will proceed with legal binding agreement with our company. Plus court cost and attorney’s fees, WHAT!!! Please don’t ever use this shady company. If you do you will remember me. Worst services ever crossed upon.
