Updated on 04/16/2025: Renewal by Andersen replied to my unsatisfactory review on this site. Said they would inform their TEAM about my issue. The TEAM did nothing...no reply/concern. That's how they roll. I'm watching for their truck and will tell those that they mislead as to how you really operate. You have 3 days to change your mind after signing their contract. Change your mind...and select a real window replacement provider.
Original Review: Pella replaced all our worn windows, except one that still looked nice at that time. Eventually, it needed replacing and we chose RBA to do it. What a mistake. It's the most expensive window we have, yet the worst looking. They have a facility where they make that ugly window, then contract local folk to install. Actually, I think they just grab anyone willing to install their junk. The first window they installed leaked. On their second try, the outside trim is misaligned. They will not return to fix their mistake or call us back. When I see a RBA truck in the area, I let that homeowner know of my experience and urge them to make another choice.
We apologize for the experience you described with your window replacement. We strive for quality installations and exceptional customer service, and we're sorry this was not reflected in your experience. We appreciate your detailed feedback and want to address these issues. We have shared your review with our internal teams.

The subcontractor Andersen referred us to was Exterior Improvements. When we first contacted them, they sent out a salesman named Ralph, and he was wonderful. He looked at what we needed, listened to us, worked with us, and helped us choose beautiful windows and a door, exactly what we were looking for.
He explained that we would put down a deposit and they would place the order. Because the door and windows were custom, it would take some time for them to come in. After that, they would come back out, measure everything again to make sure the door and windows were exactly what we wanted, and then schedule a one‑day installation. That all sounded fine to us.
We spoke with him around March or May of last year. Later, we received an email saying that Ralph was no longer with the company. The owner, Kenny, told us they would take care of everything and would call when they came in. Months passed, and when I asked for an update, they discovered that Ralph had never ordered anything for us.
We explained that we were delaying other construction because our daughter is autistic and needs routine. We couldn’t have ongoing noise and confusion, so we were waiting to finish everything before starting the bathroom.
We had the siding done first, then waited longer because we also had awnings installed. By then, six months had passed. When we contacted them again, they admitted they had messed up and never placed the order after Ralph left.
The owner said they contacted Ralph, and even though he no longer worked there, he called us and took responsibility. He came back out, ordered everything correctly, made sure it matched our garage doors, and gave us an install date of February 4th.
The first week of February, I texted to confirm the February 4th install date. The owner or install coordinator texted back and said, “What are you talking about? I never scheduled anything for you.” I explained that everything was supposed to be completed by February.
He said he would look into it and later called back, saying they would send someone out to install the windows. The installer came and put the window in, but it was installed incorrectly. My husband, who works in construction, told them it wasn’t right and that it would leak. The installer came back, ordered a new window, and replaced it.
Then I asked about the door. “What are you talking about? What door?” At that point, it had been almost a year. I couldn’t take it anymore. I don’t work for them, so I didn’t understand why I was doing all the follow‑up. Ralph called again, apologized, and said he would make it right. He said the installer would call to set up a date.
The installer called and said the door wasn’t in yet but that they were going to rush it. He also said Kenny, the owner, would take some money off because of everything we’d been through. They eventually came and installed the door, and everything was done.
After that, the owner called and said we still owed $6,189. I said I thought he was going to do right by us. He asked what I had in mind, and I said, “Free.” He laughed and said he couldn’t do that. I think he took off about $600 or $800. I said that was fine and that I was just glad everything was finished.
Now we want to replace other windows in the house, but we’re afraid to use Andersen again because we don’t want to deal with another subcontractor. We don’t know what kind of subcontractor we’d get. We worked with the contractors as much as we could, but the whole situation was extremely frustrating.
We called Andersen’s main number, and when they subcontracted it out, the representative told us not to worry and said Exterior Improvements were really good and had been used before. At first, everything seemed fine, but it ended up being a shit show.
On top of that, we had to postpone our bathroom renovation because I didn’t want too much construction happening at once. My daughter is autistic and needs routine, and too much disruption can cause serious problems for her. We didn’t want to risk that.
So, the project I started last year still isn’t finished. The only thing that’s done is the windows. The only work that was done correctly was the siding and the awnings from a different company. Andersen is still a good brand in my opinion, but we’re afraid of getting stuck with another bad contractor.

I used the remodeler to do a roof and siding on my house, and he was on a deal with Andersen Windows. So, I replaced a bow window with a bay window. I wasn't really given a timeline because the major thing that they were doing was to work on siding and roofing.
And so, it was all part of it. But it was secondary. They did a nice job in the installation process. They got the old window out and the new window in in a day, and supported and finished off. It was very simple.
It's a quality window. I have no complaints about it. It's probably been too cold for me to really open it and let the air flow in all the time. So I haven't used it that much other than looking out. But it's a nice window. It's got a nice finish on the inside.
I would recommend the people who put it in for me.

I liked the quality and options that Andersen Windows had. We particularly liked a type of window that they had. We got five windows and three of them are adjoined as one. Those were higher end energy efficient windows. There was also a pair of standard windows for the garage that were nothing special but we needed. We were given a timeline on how long the window replacement would take, except for the duration of how long it would take to order them. They had to place an order and when it was available, they had to call to schedule the installation. They did that promptly.
The contractor was very good, except they did not bring and install the high-end window. They had the wrong one. Instead of narrow side windows beside a larger window, they brought a window that was three windows in one, which was expected, but they were the wrong size. They were all the same size, like picture window size. Unfortunately, we weren't available to monitor and they actually installed the wrong window. We were home but we made ourselves scarce so they could do their work. Also, the house was gonna be cold while they were working.
When we found out what had happened, they were very good about apologizing. After an opportunity to review the order, they realized it was their mistake and they gave us a choice of a heavy discount on keeping the windows that we did not order or they would order a new set, get the right windows, and install those. We’re at that point where we’re waiting for that shipment to become available. Right now, we're sitting here with the three wrong windows that are about 90% installed. There is still plastic covering the glass. That aside, the quality was exactly what we wanted. The two windows for the garage were fine and that's a finished installation.

We got one sliding door and two windows from Andersen Windows. One of them is a really big one and then one normal size, a double one. The whole process was pretty good.
When Rich first came over, he explained things very well, and then the people installing it did a great job as well. They said the replacement will take two to three days, and it got done in two days. I'm very pleased with the quality of work and product.

Andersen Windows has been pretty good. It met our needs, and their pricing was reasonable.
We had a complex situation or difficult situation with our windows because we're told that our windows needed a special type of window or frame. Andersen is the only company that was able to do the job.
It took two months for them to do our fixed window. I haven't been inspecting the quality yet. But it seems like they're fine. It looks good.
The only problem we had was that we were the ones having to chase after the person who was going to be doing the work. And so, we had to keep following up on them because we didn't see much movement in the process.
And also, there were a few options for how to pay with a credit card. We have to just write a check. That's the only thing that we didn't like. But we wouldn't mind recommending them if you needed to replace a window.

They are slightly more expensive than competitors but it is worth it considering the quality of the products. They always have a special of pricing so it ends up paying off in the end.

We purchased our patio French door slider a few weeks before Christmas. The installation process was great. There were a few aesthetic flaws with a panel and Anderson scheduled the replacement for Feb. The major issue was the lock would stick and I couldn’t enter the home. A service team member came out a few days after the installation and confirmed the lock needed to be replaced. The lock is a Schlage which is readily available through any hardware store or Amazon. Anderson said shipping was delayed due to the holidays so I spent the next 8 weeks crawling through the dog door to enter my home.
I frequently had to call Anderson for updates. The communication on their end was absent. It took weeks for a manager to return my calls. When I finally got one I had to initiate the conversation of compensation for the delay and was only offered $230 gift card on a $10k door purchase. The fact that I was using the dog door should have been an embarrassment to Anderson and at least $1,000 reimbursement given off the total cost of the door.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're glad to hear that the installation process initially went smoothly, but it's disappointing to learn about the issues you've faced with the door lock and our team's communication. We apologize for the delay and inconvenience during the holiday period that caused you to have to find alternative access to your home. Renewal by Andersen had great reviews, so I contacted them. They gave me the name of Accord Windows and Remodeling, which is in Buffalo Grove or Northbrook, and I went with their recommendation. Morris and his son Jared came over first and did the water testing. Then Steve and another technician handled the installation, with a third guy helping on one portion of the job. They were all great, and it took about four days for them to complete two balconies and install the sliders.
Since the installation, everything looks a lot newer. The windows are very nice, with locks and better handles. On sunny days it used to get up to about 85 degrees in here, and now it's around 74. So far, so good. It’s been over two months and I’m really pleased.

From what I gathered during my research, Andersen seemed to be a better product than many of the others I looked at, and the pricing was fairly comparable. That’s why I decided to go with them. I purchased two storm doors.
The installers initially gave me about a one‑week timeline and said they would let me know once the doors came in. That was really the only negative part of the experience. I had to chase down the installers to get a clear timeline and have them installed. I wasn’t home during the installation because I was at work. They told me I didn’t need to be there, but my wife was home instead.
The front storm door they installed didn’t sit right and wouldn’t close all the way. I had them come back out to fix it, but it still doesn’t close properly. They said it’s because my house settled differently and that they can’t make it work.
They didn’t offer me anything, no alternatives and no other options. The door still doesn’t close fully, and there’s a gap where air comes in. It's not an issue with the quality of the door itself. I think the problem is with the installation, and I wasn’t very pleased with that. Everything was fine until it came to the doors. They said they sent their best installer, and even he couldn’t do anything about it.
Andersen gave me the runaround, and they never did a final walkthrough. They did a lot of work beyond just the doors. They painted and replaced siding and other things. The doors were only part of the project. Everything else went well. The issue was really just the installer, specifically the front door, and the lack of communication was pretty bad.
I love the product so far. One of the doors has a slide‑down window with a screen, and the weather was nice enough that I was able to open it yesterday. It’s a really nice product. For the price, I’m very happy with it.
As far as I know, there’s a lifetime warranty on the product itself, which gives me peace of mind. My only concern is whether the front door was installed correctly and if that could be held against me if I ever needed to make a warranty claim. That’s something I’ve been thinking about.

We purchased a patio door in 2023. In the winter, the door gets extremely cold and hard to close. We called Andersen for a technician to come and check out our door. He told us that in order for the door to close we need to push at the top of the door and at the bottom of the of the door when we close it and to adjust the striker as needed. It as if the door is warped. Customer service called us and told us that the door we purchased was made by an outside company and now Andersen is making their own doors and there’s nothing more they can do for us. We paid $6700 for a door that we thought was the best and ended up with a subpar door with no thermal break between the outside and inside. We replaced a door that was purchased at Home Depot 20 years ago. It was far better than the Andersen door. We will never purchase from Renewal by Andersen ever again. They don’t stand behind their product.

I purchased windows for my entire home from Renew by Andersen, I was impressed by the custom measure/custom built windows they offered. When the window installers came to my home to install the windows in September 2024, they broke the living room window frame and my bedroom window's glass was cracked. At the time I noticed a huge gap between the frame of my house and my windows. I asked the installers about it but they didn't speak English so it was hard to communicate with them. So I had to wait three months to have them rebuilt and reinstalled. When they came back out, they did not have my bedroom window and informed me it was broken in the warehouse. I asked him about the gaps and he said that was not correctly built.
I had the install manager come out and remeasured every single window in my house that they originally measured, built and installed and he informed me they were all built incorrect and too small. Now they are insulting me with a low credit amount to have me keep the installed windows or I have to wait for them all to be rebuilt correctly and lose another full day of work to have them installed without reimbursement. I would not bother with them as they are almost double the price of other windows and do not respect their customers.
We sincerely apologize for the experience you've had with our team at Renewal by Andersen. It’s regrettable to learn about the issues surrounding your window installation. We have shared your feedback to our local leadership to review.

We went with Andersen's 100 Series windows due to budget considerations, as we needed several installed. In total, we added eight 8-foot sliders, four large picture windows, and two additional windows, one of which is a 400 Series. The whole process took about 8 to 10 weeks, including the time for prefinishing.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the windows. Although I would have preferred the 400 Series due to their quality, the cost was a limiting factor. Currently, we have a small issue with one door being slightly warped, which causes it to click when closing. Our contractor is arranging for an Andersen rep to assess it, and I anticipate that it will be covered by the warranty. From what I've heard, Andersen stands by their warranty, so I'm optimistic about getting a replacement.
I would recommend Andersen Windows to friends and family. We're pleased with the quality of the product and the overall service we received.

The condominiums in my area have always used Andersen products, so I decided to stick with them for consistency. The original windows were from when the place was first built, and over the years, I've had to replace a few due to living close to a golf course, where errant balls sometimes cause damage. The contractors who came out recently to replace the sliding doors did a very good job. They managed to install three sliding doors in one day. Although someone needed to come back to fix a minor issue, overall, the service was efficient and professional.
I'd recommend Andersen Windows. The history and value they've provided in my community are commendable. As for the sales and marketing team, the representative was attentive, sitting down with me to go over everything thoroughly, which was a great help. Price-wise, I found that they offered some options that were less expensive than initially expected.

I had Andersen Windows installed to replace some older windows in my house, as I was already familiar and satisfied with their product. I chose to stick with Andersen because of the quality I had experienced previously. I replaced a set of three triptych wind-out windows, and the installation process was smooth. The contractor worked efficiently, completing the job in about an hour and a half. The installers left my home as they found it, only with enhanced windows, which I appreciated.
The windows themselves met my expectations, although I did have to replace some due to age-related fogginess, which the warranty did not cover. These windows had been in place for 33 years, so while I understand the lack of coverage, it was still disappointing. Also, it's hard to figure out why there are so many Andersen contractors and what their actual affiliation is with Andersen. Pricing was a consideration, and I found it varied among contractors. I ended up selecting a contractor I was familiar with and trusted.

The installation day went smoothly. The team was very professional, removing old windows, installing new ones, and even replacing some deteriorated wood. Their professionalism left a positive impression.
If a friend asked for my opinion, I'd say Andersen offers great quality windows, though they are on the pricier side. I suggest shopping around for comparable quality at possibly lower prices.
I would rate my experience with Andersen as 4 out of 5 stars, primarily due to the premium pricing associated with the brand name.

Everyone knows that Andersen Windows offer a good product. So, we went with them. The contractor, Alex, was exceptional. I had other companies like Pella and Champion come out for quotes, but they focused more on sales pitches instead of listening to my needs. Alex understood that I already knew what I wanted, so he didn't waste time on unnecessary pitches. He was very communicative throughout the process. We ordered the windows late in November, and despite the production holidays, the windows arrived earlier than the anticipated 10-12 week timeframe. We replaced a total of 17 windows, but only 14 or 15 were installed since we adjusted some window sizes.
The installation was clean and took just two days, although they had to return because a screen was missing. I also still need to contact Alex about a specific issue with a bathroom window. It's an older home, and I had ordered a window with one-way transparency to ensure privacy during showers, but it doesn't seem like the right one was installed. The installation process turned out to be more involved than I first anticipated, as it required the removal of a window to create space for one of the doors, resulting in a four-day project instead of just a simple door installation. While the price he gave me was not the lowest it was not the highest either.
A separate person came to measure windows to ensure all was correct to ensure installation went without a hitch. Windows took about a month from the sales meeting until installed. Windows look great. Operate very smooth. Very secure. Two tone color scheme on windows look amazing. Installation team was very professional and thorough; during removal of old windows rot was discovered (not known prior) and was repaired resulting in an installation that was very solid and well done. When the person leading my installation, Alex, arrived I didn’t know yet what to expect. Let me tell you: I couldn’t be happier with how things turned out.
Alex clearly knows what he is doing and does it very well. I’ve had or been involved in many remodels, and I know careless work can result in major problems. Based on what I’m seeing with the seams, trims, and such, I have no concerns about issues arising since Alex did the work. He called to let me know when he was on his way, updated me with estimates about when he’d wrap up for the day, and alerted me to anything he unexpectedly encountered. Since Renewal by Andersen has praiseworthy products and employs Alex and Alex is committed to his craft and his clients, I trust they both will be responsive should any problems arise and when I choose to move forward on other projects.

I recently chose Andersen Windows because of their flexibility and ease of ordering. I purchased a replacement sliding window for the front of my house. Although I didn't work directly with Andersen, they referred me to a third-party contractor for the installation. The installation process with the contractor went smoothly, and I'm satisfied with the result. The window is great. Overall, I'm pleased with my experience with Andersen Windows and would recommend them.

The experience with Renewal by Andersen was one of the best construction experiences we have ever had and we've done a lot of renovation projects over the past 30 years. The sales experience through the install was top notch. Customer focused. The team lead by Dan showed incredible pride in their craftsmanship. The job site (our house) was left immaculate at the end. If you didn't know they ripped out 18 windows and replaced them all within a 24 hour period you would have never known they were even at our house.

I ordered window and doors. The installation by the installers was great work and was very pleased with their work. The following issue was not the installer's issue because they were not made aware. I had issues with getting the wires for the existing alarm working. 1. They would not use my existing wiring to alarm the door and had to implement a wireless device on the door that now I have to monitor for batteries. The wires on the fixed window was left hanging inside because they said it's up to the alarm company to fix and repair.
Alarm company wanted to charge me service fee because it was not their doing. This is even after I described the issue with the sales rep and of course was assured it would not be a problem. It became a problem and had a very difficult time with the sale person and ended up not being a friendly relationship. Additionally word of advise DO NOT use their finance company. Their interest doubles the cost of windows. Use a credit union or your bank with lower interest rates or pay it off.
Thank you for sharing your detailed experience. We're thrilled to hear that you were pleased with our installation team's efforts. We regret the wiring issues you encountered with your existing alarm system and understand the frustration of an unresolved issue. The installers are very professional, showed us how to lock, unlock both windows and screen. For 17,000+ you would think you would get an extreme quality install. Door quality is great but the company is absolutely horrible and only there to take your money. Original doors on a 25-year-old house only replaced for something nicer. Original install was in the beginning of June and after having to have the job completely redone because it was so horrible by the end of November everything was finally in after the fourth or fifth time out to the house. Still not perfect, but don’t even want him touching anything again. And they have the nerve to offer you $2000 and you have to sign away any rights and remove any reviews online or state they made it right. I would rather lose the $2000 and save somebody the headaches than hide the true garbage this company is. Andersen should be ashamed to be in business with the unprofessional thieves they use.
We sincerely apologize for the difficulties you encountered during the installation process. At our company, ensuring quality service and logistical performance is a priority, and it's disheartening to learn this was not reflected during your experience. I live in a historic home and I need windows that match the character of the home. The installation team was fine but twice now when I bought tens of thousands of dollars of windows, they canceled on me last minute and made us rearrange our work schedule and come back. The people from Renewal by Andersen have been very dismissive and not helpful about that and made no effort to make things convenient. The work order was scheduled more than a month in advance and there was no reason that the installers could not have kept the schedule instead of inconveniencing us. Plus, no effort was made to make things right with us after the case. I have quite a few windows still to replace, but I'm looking to see what my other options are for companies that have better business practices.

Andersen was used in a quote from our first installer and I happened to go to the website. When I did that, I talked to the person at Home Depot and got a quote from them. Afterward, I went back to the website, and then, somebody came out from a local construction company that uses Andersen. We have a split-level house and the back door goes to a second-story patio that goes down steps. So, the only access to the backyard is that patio door. The patio door had settled and instead of being flat and square, it was leaning and there was a triangle space where I could fit my finger in where air was coming through and bugs could come through. It was important to replace the door.
When the installers took the door out, they noticed that the entryway was moved six inches to the left and the structure of the corner of the house was compromised. When they installed the door, the installers thought it would support the weight of it. But if it's the corner of the house and there is too much snow or if something were to lay heavy on the roof, it could buckle down into the door and cause that corner of the house to fall in. So, they cut into a structural part of the wood support in the corner, which was when they originally replaced it. The installers had to charge for a couple of hundred more extra bucks for supplies and time. But since then, we've had no problems and the door is working as we expected.
One person did the quotes and the paperwork. He was very knowledgeable, nice and explained everything step by step. The installers themselves were very good and did very well. They were opening and communicating. We paid the higher end because we wanted to start over from scratch, so that was more of a contractor side than it was the actual door. If I did not have to start from scratch, then I wouldn't have to pay as much. It was between 1,500 to 2,500 depending upon how much the door needed to be. But because they had to remove the side of the house and restart from scratch, it came up to over $4,600. I would have liked to have seen it a little bit less expensive. If it doesn't work in the next 6 months or a year, hopefully, the warranty will cover it, but it should last. We're paying for this not to fail.

Everything was excellent with Renewal by Andersen. They had a flyer going around, so I called in response to it. A gentleman got back to me and we set up an appointment date. So, he came to the house, showed his product, and I selected the window style and color that I wanted. We took measurements and wrote them down. We had a job site foreman on the phone and on a video call as well so he could see where we were measuring from to get him the measurements. Doing that saved one extra step.
The only snag we had was the weather was not in our favor being that time of year. I was on the impression weather wasn't a problem. But we had a rainstorm which held things up. We also had a couple of minor scheduling things that we worked around. In fact, we had a scheduling snafu and they gave us an extra 400 on that because it was inconvenient to my daughter who'd taken a day off because she works at home. So, I was able to pay her for her day that she missed. When we finally got the schedule nailed down, it was a different crew that came out and a different job foreman than who took the measurements. But the windows went in good and the measurements were great. They were neat about things and were very efficient. I bought the Fibrex window and I went with the top-of-the-line of that line. I was impressed with the strength, the durability, and the overall longevity of it.

So far, Andersen has been great. They have many options as far as customization, and they go in really quickly and easily. My mother-in-law recommended them, and she's done a lot more remodeling than we have, so we trusted her opinion. We got a two-piece hanging window. We have a regular bedroom window, and there was a very large portrait style bay window that we did. They're very nice windows. The installation was done in a day. Everything was great with our installers. The only issue we had was with our siding people like getting them to get out here and open up the sidings so everything could be replaced, and then everything getting closed up and fixed back the way it was with the siding whenever it was finished.
The windows went in flawlessly. The installers came in, and the windows kept the house warm. We didn't even really notice that it was a thing, because it was cold this wintertime when it was installed. They made sure that the house didn't get extra cold. They went in really quickly and they were very see-through, clean windows. They've since gotten a little bit dirty and I need to clean them. We had really old windows so I do think that we have seen an improvement as far as keeping the cold out when it's cold. We haven't made it to summer yet, but so far, it's been definitely improved for the winter.

And then, we needed a door replaced, so we just had the door replaced by Andersen and did the rest of the windows. This time around, we got four windows and a double patio door. We were very pleased with it. It just took them a long time to put the door in, but that wasn't their fault. That was to get the old door out and put the new door in. It took about a day and a half. I thought a day would probably do it, but I didn't realize how complicated it was gonna be to get our door out, which was not their fault. It was the way it was put in. The installers worked hard. It was just we hadn't had a door put in before and I didn't have really thought about it.

I recently replaced sliding doors (3 sets) using Renewal by Andersen. Even though their quote was nearly double any other company, we decided to use them due to their reputation and marketing message about their company.
Concerning their advertising/marketing message. They want you to believe that they are a vertically integrated company, meaning that manufacturing, installation and service are all one company. That is not true. During the installation, a simple question to the installer clarified that he was an independent contractor, tax identification as a 1099. This is not an employee and is exactly what all other window and door companies utilize for their work. They will tell you that the contractors are “their guys” but a 1099 is a 1099, and they can work with anyone they want to. As far as the product itself, some parts are made by Andersen, and some are not. That is one of reasons for my issue below.
The repair technician and the service center both admitted that the manufacturing of the glass is subcontracted out to another company, and that Renewal by Andersen simply makes the frame. And of course, the glass is the most important part of the product! That is what keeps the cold air / hotair outside!!Since that time, I have had problems with all doors, have had numerous services calls to “fix” the problems, and have an open work order out now for almost 8 months.
The sliding doors on the second floor have been “repaired” twice, and the cold air continues to come through the doors. Each time a technician came to my home, some minor adjustments were made, but this did not stop the problem. During the last visit, the technician Caulked the outside frame of the door to prevent the cold air from coming into my home. Now… if this was a “custom measured door” that was installed correctly, you shouldn’t have to caulk the outside of the frame. It simply wasn’t measured correctly or installed correctly, and that is what is letting the cold air in.
The sliding doors on the lower level have another problem. The grids on the inside of the glass rattle loudly if you touch the door, open or close it. I have sent videos of the problem to the service center. The technician who was here last time said that the rubber bumpers were not installed on the grids. He even took a video himself and said that this was a real problem. The bumpers I am talking about are the little inexpensive rubber stoppers that you have on your kitchen cabinet doors to soften the noise when you close the door. My doors on the second level have them all along the grid inside of the glass, and there is no rattling when you open or close the door. There are no bumpers on the lower-level doors. The technician said that they must have forgotten to put them on.
After numerous calls to the service center, I finally found out that Andersen didn’t make the glass! I was told that when they contacted the company that made the glass, they told Andersen that sometimes they put them on, and sometimes they don’t. This is ridiculous. There isn’t a manufacturer out there that does not have a SOP (Standard Operation Procedure). It is never left up to the employee whether or not to install a part. When I told the service center that Andersen is the customer since it is outsourced, and they should demand that the problem get fixed, I was told that they are working on it. This has been going on since last summer. Once again, no resolution since it is not all one big happy family.
I have called, pleaded and argued that if these doors were in any executive’s home from Andersen, they would be removed immediately. The product is inferior, or at best, equal to any other company and is double the price. Also, their warranty is not as good as other companies with their limitations and time restrictions. Example: Universal Windows is a true lifetime warranty, not 10 years on the frames and 20 years on the glass. Take my advice, do not do business with this company. You can get superior product for less than half of the cost, and much less aggravation.

I would never so much as ask for a free quote from them again. The process should have been nothing short as easy because of the price you pay for the product(s). This process caused me headaches do to day-of cancellations and problems at my work because of missing 5 days because of Renewal by Andersen problems. The company did nothing to try and fix this as all I got was, "I am sorry" for every problem they caused and then a, "We understand why you will never use us in the future." If I ever owned a company and caused a customer problems that were solely the companies I would do my very best to compensate the customer to attempt to save my company the bad ratings.
The only part of the process that was not negative for me was the installation crew. The crew showed up on time, acting professional and respectful towards my family and home. The crew was even confused why they were called out to a different state to complete work and after they heard the story, they understood. I hope the product(s) hold up because I will dread having to call the service/repair number.

They also didn't take the motion detector off a door I had replaced. Now, it keeps saying that it's a kitchen door bypass. They fixed the tiles. The rest of the stuff, they didn't tell me about and I didn't say anything about it. But everything else was good. The door they put in, they did a good job on. After the installation, an inspector required adjustments on the doors, stating they needed fixing, and a technician is scheduled to address this.
The quality of both the windows and doors is excellent. Our previous doors were fogging and had warped over time, so the new installations are a significant improvement. While expensive, I believe the quality justifies the cost. I would rate my overall experience with Renewal by Andersen around a 4 to 5 out of 5. Previously, when I lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I had always seen their commercials, and when we moved to Arkansas and bought an older home, I felt confident in choosing them over others like Pella. They did an excellent job, and you can't even tell that any work was done on the house.
I purchased several window types from them, including a large picture window, side-by-side sliders, and double-hung windows. Although the timeline for getting the windows was a bit long due to custom measurements, the installation was scheduled shortly after the windows arrived.
The installation crew was professional and friendly, answering all my questions patiently. I mostly stayed out of their way to ensure a quick and proper installation. They even went above and beyond by helping hang the shutters back up, which they didn't have to do.
The quality of the windows is excellent, and although there were some scratches initially, Renewal by Andersen's top-notch customer service had them promptly fixed. Communication was easy, as I had a dedicated contact person guiding me throughout.

I had the opportunity to work with Renewal by Andersen for replacing windows throughout my home, and it was an impressive experience. I have been involved in the construction industry for years and can confidently say that Renewal by Andersen makes the best windows available, albeit at a higher price point. But their quality justifies the cost.
I replaced my entire house's windows, which included three sliding glass doors and a variety of fixed windows in the dining and living rooms. Some of these are sliders, and I was particularly impressed with the safety glass features due to how low the windows are. I also had three opening windows installed—one in the master bathroom and two in other bedrooms. The screens are nearly invisible, which adds to the sleek look of the windows.
In terms of installation, the team was efficient, finishing within the promised two-day timeframe. I split the project into two phases because of the cost and was pleased that the same installation team handled both phases, which provided consistency and understanding.
I’ve noticed a significant difference in my electricity bills since adding these windows. My house faces west, and the thermal efficiency of the new windows has helped maintain my bills at the same rate despite electricity rate hikes.
One downside was the proposal to replace a 3 feet by 2.5 feet window over the sink, which was quoted at a staggering $15,000—too high for me to justify. It was disappointing not to complete the house uniformly, but the pricing felt excessive.

I recently had my windows replaced by Renewal by Andersen, and the experience was excellent. I liked their 12-month payment offer. I decided to go with double-hung windows—they open from both the top and bottom. I got three of these, along with another type, totaling four windows.
The installation took just two days. The crew was wonderful—very professional and friendly, which made the whole experience pleasant. Regarding the quality, it's fantastic. Living in a house that's about 100 years old, it was important to replace the original windows, and these new ones have made a huge difference. I no longer hear the wind banging, and there's no draft, which is a significant improvement.
I'm very happy and pleased with the work that they've done.

I decided to go with Renewal by Andersen after my cousin got them and told me it was very good. I appreciated that they handled everything in-house. I had a bad experience with another company called Castle, where they damaged one of my cameras during the window installation and didn’t fix it for nearly two months. It was a third party situation.
I purchased storm windows from Renewal by Andersen, and they promised the installation would take less than a month. They were very efficient and finished within that timeframe. The installation process was smooth. The team would take one window out and have one fellow bring it down and set it out. The other guy would take the window up and they would process putting it in. It was the same thing with the kitchen and bedroom windows. They were respectful and professional, ensuring to protect my home by covering the floors. They covered the area that they were working in with a cloth as well. When the team came in, they brought vacuum cleaners and they cleaned up meticulously afterward. They took me upstairs, showed me what they had done and asked me if there were any questions. They also had the stuff that they took out in the yard. They took it away, and everything was left spotless.
Renewal by Andersen did an excellent job. My back bedroom used to be chilly, but now it’s warm and comfortable. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the professionalism and quality of work they provided. The team was very courteous and treated me very well. They respected me and my home.

I recently heard about Renewal by Andersen through a commercial and decided to choose them because of the product they offer. My overall experience with the company has been very positive. The team was responsive throughout the process. Initially, after getting measurements, they informed us that it might take 2 to 3 months for the windows to be ready for installation, with less than a week required to install them. Although we waited a little longer than expected, once they began the work, they completed the installation quickly. They did a good job.
The quality of the windows is very impressive, and there's a noticeable difference compared to our previous windows. I would definitely recommend Renewal by Andersen to friends and family due to the high quality of their products, which I believe are worth the investment. I rate my experience with them a 5.

I chose Renewal by Andersen because they offered a quote that seemed reasonable and matched our needs. Initially, it appeared to be a good experience, but it ended poorly. A contractor provided a quote for the job, but when they arrived to do the work, they began additional tasks without consulting us. They should have included this in the initial quote or at the very least consulted us about it. Instead, they completed the additional work and billed us an extra $1,000.
Despite my attempts to contact their corporate office, they never returned my calls. The contractor dismissed my concerns and stated that the work was necessary. While the timeline for replacing the windows was mostly as promised, and the order process was also as expected, the additional charges without consent were unacceptable. Since we were never shown evidence that the extra work was needed, it still doesn't sit right with me.
This was my first interaction with Renewal by Andersen, and it wasn't a positive one. The contractor seemed untrustworthy, and I suspect there might have been a communication barrier. We own an antique home, and they used vinyl for a replacement window frame, which was inconsistent with the original wood. We didn't approve this material choice, nor were we informed about it beforehand.

I chose Renewal by Andersen due to the quality of their windows and the warranty and guarantee on their workmanship. I ended up buying sliding windows, a few double hung, and some that fold out from the bottom. The installation was excellent—they removed the old windows, replaced them seamlessly with pre-measured new ones that fit perfectly, and the trim looks great. I can notably feel the improvement in temperature control, especially in the basement. Although I've only had them since December, the quality is immediately apparent.
There was a minor issue with one screen appearing warped, but the installer noticed it and arranged for a replacement without me even having to point it out. The customer service has been exceptional, so I'd rate it a 5 for their attentiveness.
The overall product and coverage also deserves a 5, and the sales experience was straightforward without any pressure. They actually checked our other windows with a thermal tool and confirmed they were efficient, showing transparency rather than upselling. We chose to make additional custom decisions though, particularly a fold-out window for the kitchen as per my wife's preference.
Regarding the pricing, while Renewal by Andersen might be pricier compared to options like Lowe's, the superior quality and professional installation made it worth it for us. Overall, I am highly satisfied with our decision.

I had a sliding glass door installed by Andersen. Our decision to go with Andersen was primarily to match the pre-existing windows, which were also Andersen products. Initially, we were told the installation would be completed in a day; however, it extended to about three or four days, largely due to scheduling issues with the crew and some unforeseen situations needing additional plastering work.
Though the timeframe for completion was frustratingly prolonged, with slow email responses and trips to Home Depot that further delayed the project, I have to admit the quality of the product is excellent. The door met our expectations, and the final installation was well executed. Overall, while the product quality was brilliant, the installation process lacked efficiency and communication, which made the experience less satisfactory.
I would rate it about a 3 or 3.5 out of 5, primarily due to the extended installation time and the crew's readiness. I would recommend Andersen products for their quality, but I would advise ensuring better coordination with their installation teams.

Regarding the quality, both my husband and I were very impressed. We had recently bought the house, and the previous doors were old and faulty. In contrast, the new Andersen storm doors are airtight when closed, which is fantastic.
The only downside was the delivery time; they took 6 to 8 weeks to arrive, despite being told it would be just a few weeks. However, overall, I would rate our experience a 4 out of 5 due to this delay.

I have been waiting since Halloween for my project to be completed. A sliding glass door that is 71 inches wide received materials for a sliding glass door that is 21 inches wide. It's tough for anybody to get out a 21-inch wide sliding glass door.
The installation of 10 out of the 11 windows was handled expertly by the crew, whom I commend for their excellent work. However, there’s been a major lapse in communication and coordination from Renewal by Andersen. I've spoken to different representatives, each providing varying information about the progress and updates on the delivery of the correct materials. It’s been over five months since we signed the contract, and I’m yet to see the complete resolution of the issue.
Despite the high quality of their installed products, the overlooked details like a few damaged screens and a missing latch, combined with the current inability to complete the full project, are frustrating. Adding to this, there was an issue with a building permit application that illustrated a communication gap within their team, causing further delays. If asked by a friend or family member whether to recommend Renewal by Andersen, I would hesitate due to the difficulties I've faced. He had initially planned to replace the cranking hardware on some other windows, but unfortunately, they were discontinued, and I can't open the windows now. One downside is the price, which was quite steep compared to when I first got Andersen windows 35 years ago. This time, it cost $4,500 for just one window set and a sliding screen door for my patio. This will be my last job with Renewal by Andersen because now every window and patio door in my home is Renewal by Andersen. My worry days about windows and doors are over.

My experience with this company was excellent. The estimate process took a little over an hour for my project of 3 doors including a screen door. The measurements were very carefully taken and I was able to able to get a helpful discount that enabled me to continue with the project. The follow up was very great and nonintrusive. I was assigned an assistant I could contact if necessary and she always got back to me in a timely manner. The installers were wonderful. They were helpful and did the job extremely well. They also cleaned up the areas they worked in better than how they found it. I would definitely use Andersen again.

The salesman was very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. Made us feel comfortable and safe paying $174,000 up front for the job of 52 windows.. Acknowledged and understood our Home Owners Association (HOA) rules. After that, the service went DOWNHILL! Install team reached out to us and left monthly updates. We purchased in June. In September we were informed the windows arrived. They could NOT get a building permit, as we had a permit for a generator install (untrue, we verified the county will waiver a second permit). In Sept/Oct, we encountered two hurricanes, and our generator install was delayed. We made multiple attempts to reach Andersen install team, and NEVER had calls or emails responded.
Mid October, we finally made contact with the install team and were informed that the install could not occur until the generator was complete. I PERSONALLY went to the city and county and received verbal approval (it was input in the permit system, which was visible online) that the permit would be waived/approved upon submission. I provided this to the Andersen install team on Oct 28th, along with the paperwork and POCs of senior county managers. I received verbal confirmation from Sandra ** that she had received it on 28 Oct, and the permit folks would take care of it. We were scheduled for install 7 Dec.
On 3 Dec, after receiving no communication from the install team, we finally talked to Luis (fourth different rep). The permit was not showing in the county system, and I wanted to inquire about it. After he researched our file, he elevated this to supervisors who (two personnel apologized), informed us that the permit request had never been submitted—Andersen dropped the ball as they were moving offices to Orlando. At this point, we elevated the problem and started talking to supervisors.
The workers doing the install were OUTSTANDING! However, communication with your install team was horrible! Throughout the whole process, we sent/voicemails over 50 times, and had less than 15 replies. One of the windows arrived shattered off the truck, a crane got stuck in our backyard, and this whole process took 7 months—with NO COMPENSATION offered, and we paid in full June. You earned 7 months interest off of me paying in full.
The windows (except the one I still don’t have) are beautiful. The installers were GREAT, but the communication and customer service were horrible. For the amount I spent, I will not recommend Andersen to any neighbors or friends, if asked. And to date, I still DO NOT have an approved building permit. I own a second home in this area and had considered Andersen for hurricane windows, but have reconsidered after the process I have encountered.
UPDATE: as of 23 December (56 days after giving the permit team the info), It is still not approved after the install. I sent 3 emails, and my wife sent multiple texts to the install team regarding the lift remaining in our cul-de-sac for 5 days. Your representative Kyle, who conducted the inspection informed us that he would contact us, since nobody else replied—has not replied. We texted him 4 times regarding the lift on our property for 5 days, with no response. I still do not have an approved building permit as it has not been paid for. The lift/crane was finally picked up today, after only 5 days, 7 calls from our neighbors, and 2 HOA violations received. I have another house I was considering Renewal by Andersen. There is no way I would even consider it. I will find another company that provides customer service. So much for your “White Glove” service.

She said she would never use this company again as these windows were too expensive. She would definitely NOT use this company again. She paid over $10,000 for 4 windows that were discounted but same price that the rep started with. Sad to take advantage of the elderly or anyone.

200 characters isn't enough for experience I had with Andersen, they failed from beginning to end, requested new J channel to installed, from the customer service rep who took my order, to the measurement people, to the installers wasn't an issue. Installers were very unpleasant, they rushed the job, it was dark when they finished, following day when to look at my new windows and noticed only part of the new channel was replaced, contacted Mandy stated the issue, she forwarded my concern to planners. Wait for a call on a fix, no call came, left messages, nothing.
Then finally two weeks later I get a call asking what the issue is, explained, they stated they don't install new J channel unless it is compromised. Was very taken back by that then why did everyone during this process agree to replace. He stated there is nothing they can do because the window has an arch to it, they can't match the color. He really didn't seem like he cared, spent $14,000.00 on three windows and I'm stuck with a unfinished product very disappointed, thought using Andersen I would get nothing but professionalism from beginning to end guess not should have just used a handyman service which probably would have gone better.

I had four contractors come and Renewal by Andersen the best-looking window when they brought the sample in. The installers were all over the house because we were getting six windows done. But they cleaned up after themselves. They looked like they were doing things well. I saw them put in ceiling and shims and then, they caulked it. So, they seemed to have done everything good. Renewal had somebody come and inspect the job and show me how to use the windows because you need a little bit of education.
I picked Renewal by Andersen instead of the vinyl contractor grade because I was worried about the installation. I wanted to make sure they did everything properly. And the installers even painted where they pulled off a little bit of paint when they pulled out the windows. I wanted the white glove service because I'm old. And they did it. So, it was great and it gave me confidence that they were gonna do a good installation because that's half the stress of getting new windows. We tried to get doors but they don't have ADA-compliant patio doors. So, they had to give me a refund because it wasn't wide enough for my brother's wheelchair. They sent the check quickly. So, their service was good.
The installers kept calling me, telling me where my windows were and that they were coming. So, they were very attentive. The windows are expensive but it’s worth it. You have to pay for quality. I love the windows and the look of them. I also love that Renewal by Andersen installed it beautifully. I probably wouldn't be so happy if there was a problem, but there isn't.

I I spent $16,000 and 2008 to replace all the windows at our home. Chose Renewal by Andersen based strictly on the 20 year warranty they guaranteed. Several years ago, they replaced a stress fracture window without any issue at all. Now I have a second window with the exact same design of breakage, and they are refusing to replace it. They are claiming it was from an impact, but there is no damage to the screen at all. It’s sad that the quality of the window seems to be fine, but the warranty is less than what they promised. My advice to anyone dealing with replacement by Andersen to be leery of promises unkept.

I had a sales guy who was good and brought samples and products. He was very knowledgeable and offered to do other things in my house. He suggested I replace two windows that were Andersen Windows and they were some of the newer windows. They're 20 something years old, but they're not 60 years old like the rest of the house. I got a price on another door as well, but I didn't think the price was that great, so I did not replace the other one or the windows he suggested.
I bought a 9-foot-wide slider with four panels. The two interior panels slide out and then there are two panels that are stationary. The guys that came to install were very good, very professional, cleaned up after themselves, explained everything to me, and offered me options on how the door locked and how the door slid. I made choices and they followed through. It was a one-day install. They arrived around 9:30 and they didn't leave till about 6:00. While I don't use the slider door every day, it looks really great and I haven't had any trouble with it.

I had a very pleasant and informative experience with the sales team. We discussed options and what the benefits of having replacement windows by Andersen would be. I got windows and a sliding glass patio door, and they're fantastic. We're very happy with the purchase. The installation was surprisingly smooth. We had 20 windows and one patio door and they sent a crew that was sized such that they can complete the job in one day. I placed the order at the end of September and they replaced the windows 21st of November. It snowed the day before, so it was pretty cold out. But they were very quick and professional. They cleaned up after themselves and, by the end of the day, it was as if they hadn't even been here.
We found little bits of insulation everywhere, but they took care to wrap up our belongings and curtain off other rooms so that none of the debris or dust from the demolition portion would get on our items. So we're very happy with the crew and the salespeople, and we love the product. Even though the product was, by far, the most expensive out of the other window companies that I looked at, but you could tell that the product was better and I'm glad I went with the higher-quality product. With it being cold today in Chicago, I can tell both from a temperature, we don't have drafts anymore from the windows. Also, it actually soundproofs quite a bit. So we don't notice dogs barking as loudly or cars. So we're very happy with that aspect as well.

Jesse, the sales rep, came out, and he spent quite a bit of time and answered all of my questions. We worked out from the initial estimate. We tweaked what we were doing with the windows. The thing that really set me off was, in a good way, I asked him who would be the ones actually doing the work and if they have subcontractors. He said, “No. The people that do the work are our people. They only do windows. They only do doors. They'll be the same ones. And it's not, someone that we hired just to go ahead and do a job.”
I’m a contractor myself. I've been in business for many years, and I never have hired a full-time employee because I know what it's like to try to get people that are competent even to just show up and dig a hole. But Renewal by Andersen's guys were fine. I would recommend the crew that I had, Greg and the two Thomases, to go to anybody's house and be more than competent. They were extremely good in all phases of the project.
From what I had done back in the day when I built the house, the Andersen products now have better quality and updated energy-wise, insulation-wise. I noticed that the furnaces isn’t going on as much and the windows are not feeling cold to the touch. Aesthetically, and what they had to do, it looks a little different, but it's not out of place. It's what I would have hoped for.
The price was competitive. I would have paid less with some other places, but I consider the satisfaction that I got from the guys that came and did it and the quality that they did as part of the price. Sometimes, everything didn't get done the first time. Renewal by Andersen had questions and I also had questions. But we eventually got to resolving it without a big deal. When I asked all of the questions, I've probably been on the line twice as long as with them than most people. But I was satisfied with what I was getting as a huge upgrade to what I had.

The installers were great, too. It was one of the coldest days of the year when they put the door in. These guys have been doing it for a while and they're very efficient. It doesn't take them long to take a window out and put a new one back in. We took out a door with two side lights and put in a wider door with a single side light. Then, we did two windows. In a walkout basement, we replaced the sliding doors down there and it's 10 times better as far as warmth is concerned.
The service is great. If you call them and you have a concern, they address it immediately. We did have a concern with the windows that we installed on the second installation. The quality of the products that I got from Andersen is good and everything looks solid. I have five large windows in the gymnasium and two in the bedrooms. But their installation is not finished yet. It seems that the manufacturer accidentally shorted us on the brick molding and the installers waiting for that to come in stock to come and finish installing. There is one window left. Other than that, the installation went really smoothly and the contractor is very flexible with our schedule here since there are some areas that are not accessible at certain times. But the contractors have been top-notch. They said the extra piece of brick molding is coming sometime in December but I still have to call back to find out if it has come in yet.
The initial communication with Andersen was difficult because they wanted to speak to the homeowner. They said that they normally demand to speak to a homeowner because they need sign off and permission that only the homeowner can give. But that's why he has us. I'm the full-time maintenance personnel at this particular estate and they had to deal with me. The owner will never talk to them because he is above this kinds of decisions. It was also difficult to get Andersen's reps to come out. They had to look the property up on the internet to see the satellite image of how big it is to get them interested enough to come. The windows are installed and look very pretty and were installed by professionals. There was a small problem with one window but they decided (one man) that it was within the margin of error so nothing was attempted to tighten its install. We had the entire home (5000 square feet) completed so it was a fairly large job. The windows improve the look of the home and do a good job of making the home quiet in spite of us living close to a busy street (except the ONE window discussed above). The sales lady was friendly throughout the sales portion of the deal. There was not a person that was in charge of our job once installation was happening, so I never knew who was the appropriate person to speak to report the few problems we had.
This job had some problems that were uncomfortable for me to report to the person causing said problem, but if there had been a higher up manager designated for me to report to, it would have been more appropriate, but I am used to working with and from large corporations, not small shops. I know everyone cleaned up all their messes and were very kind and professional and of course, the Andersen windows are very very nice. I know my neighbors were all impressed too.

Our assigned project concierge, Mark, was connected and kept us updated throughout the process and our installation team led by Greg couldn't have been more professional. We may have paid a premium but it was well worth it. The project was executed flawlessly.

When I was looking for replacement windows, Renewal by Andersen seemed to be the best option from everything that I read. The first sales person came out with her briefcase and did not want me to just make a decision. I went through a video with her. She said, “I can tell you where every screw and bolt is and how every window is put together. I had to do four weeks training in Missouri and in class. When I came out there, I knew windows front and back.” Cathy was her name, and I trusted her because she came across as being very authentic and not as a pushy salesperson.
I first had a door replaced and a couple of small windows, and I was very happy with it. Cathy made suggestions and because of the very successful placement, everything works. There's no air leakage. The door and windows are beautiful. I told Cathy I have another house with a leaky sliding glass door. She came over and we made a decision about the best product for the space.
The products were custom, so the installation took a little while. But they kept me updated about when they were being made at the factory, when they were shipped and when they would be available for installation. Once they came with the product, they worked non-stop and did not leave until they were finished. I had two different contractors because there were two different locations, and each contractor came in with their truck and tools. They laid stuff on the carpet and didn't leave any shavings. Everything was vacuumed and cleaned. The windows were washed as well.
I've never had such good service on anything. The people were very nice and polite. The last one I had was a man and a couple of adult daughters. They replaced a double sliding glass door, which was a little oversized. That was the reason it had to be custom. They were in and out in three hours and left nothing behind. I was afraid because I had called a couple of window replacement people, and I never felt comfortable with what they had to say. But with Renewal with Andersen, I couldn't ask for a better experience. They were on top of everything. The employees there were all on the same page. They're all informed and can put you with the right person. I also had Andersen Windows before, and when I had one window that clouded up one-time, they came out. I had a 20-year warranty, and it was in warranty. They replaced the window, and it did not cost me one cent.

I bought their storm door 3000 series paid $600 for each. The ones with the wonderful retractable screen. My front storm door works like a dream. The back storm door which receives full sunlight does not. When the sun is down it works fine. When the sun shines on it during the day the door contracts and gets stuck EVERY time. We had the contractor come out 3 times. We had a new door frame done TWICE. I called Andersen with concern and they tried to tell me it's the door jam. Yet we had it replaced TWICE. Currently waiting for a manager from customer service to call me back. What gets me is, they make SO much money they can spare ONE replacement door. This one obviously has issues. Instead it is the consumer who works their life away to own what they have, that has to absorb this financial hardship. Disappointed.

We had Renewal by Andersen install two windows with three panes each. The sales rep was knowledgeable of how the process works and I had a good experience. The price is in the ballpark because I checked with another company as well, and once they started the installation, it took them half a day. However, we had an issue where they put the wrong side trim up and didn't tell us on purpose. We had to find it and call them back. That was very wrong on their part. People don't do that on someone's home on that expensive of a product on an inexpensive home. They rectified it, but it should never have had to have been rectified in the first place.

The sales rep was very informative and wasn't pushy. He gave us different options, and I liked the product. It was great. Installation was a very positive experience as well. I live in a condominium community and the Renewal by Andersen installers were very considerate of where they parked their truck as far as blocking other neighbors. In the 30 years I've lived here, I've never had a vendor be that considerate. They even had a hand vacuum and cleaned up everything after the install.

The installation group was good. We ran into a little problem which was not anything to do with the installation, and I had to have some work done on some wood. Everything was already torn out, so Renewal by Andersen had someone from their headquarters come with some big sheets of plywood, and they put them up and secured it into the huge opening, and taped all around that because it would be almost a week before they could get back out to do the second side. They already did one side and worked on the other.
They handled that well and I wanted the same crew to come and do the second installation because they knew the whole history and what had happened. It probably could have been installed sooner, but I wanted that same crew. It was six days. They came out and finished it up in no time. But it would have been done in a very timely manner had we not run into a problem which had nothing to do with them.

I’ve backed into my bedroom window with the back of a hoe trying to pull some roots out of the garden. I’ve called four places to look for help and they said, "We'll come out and look at it about three, four days." I got this gaping hole in my home. And I bent the frame. I called up Renewal by Andersen. They had a man around that afternoon. He helped me patch up and close the window up with some plastic flexi that he found, came over and put it together. He, at least, showed me. And they lined me up for a new window.
The rep was a very astute man. He knew his business. I was impressed with the way he handled himself and the way he presented the company and showed me a catalog. It was to the point. I like that. There's no runaround. Just, "This is a stock business. We're gonna rebuild. We're gonna custom build a window for what's that opening there." So I said, "Okay. Go for it." Got me all signed up. I gave them the deposit. I sent out the final payment a little while ago. I pay cash for each payment. I don't believe in having any interest. If you got your pocket, finish the job, pay it off, you’re done. I was very happy with the entire thing. The surprise was, they got it out in a month. For a custom window, that is amazing. And when they get swamp with orders, you could wait five months. I couldn't have a hole in the side of my house that long. That was why they put the rush on it.
This window is six-feet across and five-feet high. It has double sliding windows in it. It's a good size window for a bedroom, but that's the way this place is built. He got me all lined up with it with a double-pane glass for the heat. It's a hot spot. I used their little line to check on the progress of it. I got answers on that. I got a call saying, "We've got your window in town." The next day, they came out with all the parts and pieces and put it in. I was amazed. It's beautifully done. It's well-crafted, perfectly fit. I love it. Looking at it and handling it as a custom job is well worth the dollars. They sent me some information on special discounts for more windows. I'm thinking about replacing my patio door. I'm probably gonna line them up early this spring and have them come out and put a new Arcadia door. I'm not gonna go anywhere else.

It was October when we decided to do it, and it was a year later in November before they installed them. But the installers were top-notch guys. There were three of them. I'm a repeat customer. I had Andersen windows installed 2 yrs ago. That experience was good except that it took them a year to get all of the screens correct. This review is for Andersen entry doors. I am serviced out of the south central PA office (Mechanicsburg?). The doors took 5 months from order to install date. Install date 1: Installation was a mess, caulk all over the trim, doors, and the floors. They reused the existing trim which had nail holes & dings from being removed twice (1st for measurement appt, 2nd for install). Trim was all supposed to be new. Neither door was hung correctly. One door swung in very hard, the other out. All 4 locks on the two doors were keyed differently. All were supposed to be alike.
The guys cut away the door surround and chipped big pieces of stone off the house to try and get the storm door on. It didn't fit. I was told that a new storm door would be ordered with correct measurements and would be a RUSH order. My complaints are: 1: the mess that they left; 2: that they tried to make my house fit their door; 3: the swing of both doors; 4: the locks; 5: the fact that the guys threw away part to the old door that I had specifically asked them to save and even gave them a box for the parts; and 6: the state of the front entrance that they ripped apart and left looking horrible.
Two weeks later an installation supervisor came out to see the job his guys had done. He was dismayed by the state of the front entrance. He said that both doors needed to be rehung, that the lock cylinders all needed to be changed, that all of the trim needed to be removed & replaced, that different caulk needed to be used because they had clearly used the wrong type, that the a new threshold needed to be installed (they had done it wrong) and that the new storm door needed to be installed (he took measurements) and a better solution for the front entrance needed to be found. he would talk with his team and come up with a good solution.
Forward 6 weeks. 2nd installation date: Two guys showed up to fix everything and install storm door. One immediately disagreed that the doors needed to be rehung, said that the storm door would not fit, that they didn't come with the correct trim, new lock cylinders weren't in yet (I did know this previous to their arrival). They reported that they had the same storm door that the other crew was trying to install. So, no new RUSH order door was ever ordered.
They talked to someone on the phone for awhile and then left without doing a thing. I spoke to the installation/service person about all of this and I asked to be given the contact info for an upper management type individual for this office. I asked for this again a week later. Or to have them contact me. Later that day the same guy that had come out to check on the first install job reached out to me. I never got to speak to a Manager. 3rd install date, nine days later: All of the work got done however the wrong handle set is on the storm door. it doesn't match what I ordered. no word on getting reimbursed for the parts that the first crew threw away.
I am writing this review because the experience was so bad. I am writing this review because I was deceived about ordering a new (RUSH) storm door and was made to wait 2 months to have the storm door installed and the front of the house to be made to look quasi decent. If they were going to install the same storm door, they should have had a crew come out immediately after the 1st install rather than pretend like we were waiting for a new door to be manufactured. This Andersen office clearly has issues. My contact for the job left her position during this adventure and I was not given a new contact. This made any communication going forward difficult. The price that is paid for Andersen products & installation should mean that issues such as the above do not happen! I do not recommend using RB Andersen for your entry door job. Signed Not a Happy Camper.

Yes you will pay more but in the end you will be very pleased. Not only are you buying quality but from a very reputable company. The whole process from ordering to install went without a hitch. The sales rep who came out was very new to the job but still was knowledgeable and for whatever questions we had that he could not answer he did not pretend he knew but called a supervisor to get the correct answers. Window and door quality is great, but customer service is so terrible for what you are paying for you are better off going elsewhere. After replacing 20+ windows a few years ago we decided to replace 2 old French doors with new sliders. Even though their pricing was even more eye popping than a couple years back we wanted a high quality and matching look throughout the house. We went through the sales process again and were all set. The day of install went fine until we looked and saw that the installers had scratched the front of the door at eye level. Instead of telling us, they tried to cover it up with a smear of paint that was obvious. We called and notified them and they sent someone to check it out. He instantly agreed with us and said they will get it replaced. While annoying, I understand this stuff happens and that they seemed to be working to make it right.
If the story ended here I would give them a 4-5 star, but it doesn’t. After a month of no communication I call and email. I eventually get a call back saying they can’t get a shipping date from the manufacturer (They Are The Manufacturer). The fact that they can’t get a ship date from their own plant is concerning and the fact they can’t expedite an order to fix a defect is also not great. I can’t imagine if a door or window gets broken in the winter and having to wait 3 months for a replacement. I emailed every person I interacted with from my salesperson, project manager, and anyone I could include to get updates and express my displeasure. It has now been 2 months of having unpainted and unfinished sliding doors in the middle of my house. I eventually get a ship date of 1 month more.
After 4 weeks of no updates I contact them again to see if the date is still holding. They don’t respond to my email, but then send me a text at 6pm the day before saying someone needs to be home for the install. This is annoying, but I am happy this might finally be resolved. The day comes and I am at work while my wife stayed home. I get home to find they installed an incorrect cheaper model pre-painted door. I emailed them immediately as it was after office hours about the mistake and my frustration with the situation. No one responds at all. A few days later someone from their customer service or operations department left a voicemail with my wife stating they will work to make it right and that they will keep calling to get in contact with us. I called her back and left her my email as work had been busy and expressed my frustration and wanting to know how it will be fixed.
I have never gotten another call or response. I sent another email to every person from Renewal again to which no one responded. Apparently the second they cashed our check they stopped treating us with any respect. After $15k for this job and a previous $35k in windows you would think we would be getting the best customer service. I have had my first floor looking awful with unfinished mismatched doors for 5+ months. I have not been given a date it will be fixed and have given up all hope of this being made right. I doubt there is any value in their warranty and service guarantees and feel like this is one of the few examples of you don’t get what you pay for. For what we paid we could have replaced all of these windows and doors twice and would be better off for it. Absolute disaster made worse by zero service or care about the customer once they get paid.

We paid 30,000 dollars to have 110,000 worth of mold, mildew and water damage done to our because of improper installation which they refuse to take responsibility for. Their work or lack of to our house is criminal. Think about this before you use them. We've had Andersen Windows in other homes that we've owned. This is a condo that we moved into and it had an Andersen sliding door. That is what we had replaced. Renewal by Andersen did a good job installing the door. It went smoothly. It's a complicated replacement in a condo because we're on the second floor. The contractor couldn't use the elevator. He had to carry the door up the steps. We have maple trim in the apartment and we wanted to use the same trim that was there because it was done the same way all throughout the apartment instead of just using Menards or Home Depot trim. He worked with us with that. And there were some new pieces that had to be bought. He made sure the stain matched exactly. He presented us with several styles of doors to choose from. It was with the wood on the inside. I was pleased with him. He did an excellent job and was very meticulous on his finishes.
He was here at least four times. We had a hot water heat baseboard under the first sliding door, the original one. We had to have the plumber in to split that away from it. We had the contractor come in and measure the rough opening and find the correct measurements for the replacement door. It drops more to the floor. But he also had it go out on to an enclosed porch. He had to build a threshold. He got the original measurements, came back after the plumber was done, double-checked everything. He and his assistant came in and installed the door. He came back and finished the trim area and the threshold. It's a very nice door. We love it. We have a lady down the hall that we recommended it to. This is a condo building. We have 53 units here. We invite people in to see it. Everybody knew we were having it done. They were all curious about it. So, we've had several people in and all of them admired it.

We're very disappointed with them. They were very unprofessional. They said they resealed the door and it got fixed. But something about the way that they were moved to the old doors messed up the siding. It was a long back-and-forth and months of not having nice-looking doors. We strive to provide excellent service to all our customers and are disappointed to hear that we fell short in your case. These idiots marched right past the no trespassing signs and a no soliciting sign to leave business cards at my house. There were a bunch blowing around my neighborhood despite all the signs indicating that it's private private property, and there is to be no trespassing.
Thank you for your feedback, Bernard. We apologize that your signs were disregarded. Please know we will follow up with our local teams to ensure this does not happen again.

From the sales rep Ben ** to the install crew ran by Bobby, I have full confidence in my new windows from Renewal by Andersen. Ben is not only knowledgeable, he believes in the product and details all the benefits in an approachable way that is not pushy. He genuinely cared about my project and level of comfort in proceeding with a purchase. Bobby and his install crew were extremely professional, courteous, detailed and a "well oiled machine". I was totally impressed by their quality of work and the time it took to get done. As a lifelong student, they had no issue with me watching closely and answered my questions regarding the materials, processes and all of the "how's and why's ". I hope all other sales reps and install crews take note of Ben and Bobby, and aspire to follow their example of professionalism and quality.

From the beginning to the end I was kept in the loop and knew where I was in the process. My window was a custom order being that it was a very odd size and they got it done quick. The install team was great and was very fast and efficient. I can already see a difference in temperature and dampening of sound since we live very close to the train tracks. I can't wait to do the rest of the house.
