Renewal by Andersen was a neighborhood recommendation. And when their representative came over, he showed me my options. But when he left my house, I felt totally confused because I didn't know what I was getting. He spent a ton of time here, but he simply told me what I would get. I ended up having to go to the showroom afterward to see what I was really getting. It would have been good if there were more pictures just to be a little bit clearer. The guys who came over to do the installation were awesome. It was a month later by the time they actually showed up though, but they did a really good job. They finished the job in the three days that they set up for it. They did everything right, put runners down and even cleaned up after themselves. The windows are great and they don't fog up. The house is warmer and I could tell the difference. Overall, it was a good experience for me and I would definitely recommend them.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, Cindy! We are so happy to hear that you are happy with the install team and final product! We hope you enjoy your windows for many years to come! Thanks again!

Renewal by Andersen had the best match for an older house for me, and that's what I really wanted. I also like the sales people. It was one gal and she was super informative. And the installer was very patient and informative. The double hung I bought has excellent quality too. It was higher-end but you get what you pay for. It was a good experience and I'd recommend them.

My wife had used Renewal by Andersen before and we had a good experience with them at her house before we bought this house. The most recent windows that we purchased were the crank-outs and Renewal by Andersen lived up to the timeline the replacement would take. We had already bought three patio doors earlier in the year when we recently purchased the house. We had been upgrading things so we let the rep know we were ready to do windows. He stopped over, set it up, and it was very easy. His expertise was excellent. He knew everything that needed to be done and adjusted a couple of things to make them work better on the new installation. He was really good to deal with.
The installers let us know when they were coming. We got everything ready for them when they arrived in the morning and worked it all day until six o’clock at night and they got everything done. The woodwork was well done. Their products are expensive but it’s a premium product and it’s worth it. We’re planning to do a few more windows in the future. I would recommend Renewal by Andersen.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, Allen! So happy to hear that you are satisfied with your experience with our install team and our product! We look forward to working with you again in the future! Thanks again!

I had my windows installed very efficiently and quickly by Renewal by Andersen. It was great. The windows have excellent quality, but they are pretty expensive. The rep I worked with was very informative, and she showed us a number of things and explained the whole thing to us, financing and everything else. Everything was fine, and it measured up to our expectations. I would tell others to talk to Renewal by Andersen to see what they can offer.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, John! We appreciate your recommendation to others so much! So happy that you are pleased with our service! Thanks again!

Renewal by Andersen has a really good reputation and that's why I chose them. I had been in a street fair and they had a booth. I was talking to a woman there and they offered some promos. She hooked me up with the gentleman who came out to look at my house and gave me an estimate. He came out and we had a discussion and looked at exactly what I wanted to be done and then he told me what he could do. I purchased windows for my whole house and a patio door. The temperatures have dipped down to freezing during the weeks that the installers came but the installation went very smoothly. They didn't leave anything exposed for very long. They had a window taken out and then one put in and sealed up before they ever went on and exposed anything else so I appreciated that. They cleaned up the yard and the house afterward. It was incredible.
There were only three guys and one guy came in just to do the patio door. But the other two guys were the ones that did the rest of the windows. They were so organized. It was just incredible the two guys could do that much and leave it like they had never been here. I was really impressed and very pleased. Renewal by Andersen’s products are good. It was 40 below and I had some icing on the inside of the windows, and that worried me. But I had talked to other friends and they were experiencing the same thing. I have recommended Renewal by Andersen and if others would ask me about them, I would certainly have them talk to them. They could even come and look at mine. When the inspector came here, he said "Oh Renewal. You chose a really good product," so that too reinforced that I had made a good decision.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with Renewal by Andersen, Leanne! We are glad that the installation went smoothly, especially in the dead of winter! I am getting cold just thinking of it! Thanks for choosing Renewal by Andersen!

I've worked with Renewal by Andersen twice now and I've had a great experience with them. The most recent one, I replaced a fixed window and two sliders in the living room, a fixed window in the bedroom closet, and two casements in the master bedroom. It was also the second time I worked with the rep so I was familiar with him and he knew our home and how we liked to do things, which made me feel comfortable. We went through all the different options and he paid attention to my cost concerns and I was fully aware. He also had a really calm manner.
Our order was then ready by November. They called me the morning they did the installation to tell me that the installers were going to be at our house within half an hour, so I was prepared. They then came in and they started their work and were very friendly and answered our questions. They did a great job. It's so much quieter in the house now. I can tell I have a high-quality product.
The only problem I had with the installers was that they couldn't get off a movable blind on the front window that I had. So they just took off the whole piece that it was mounted to, which I had to have reinstalled. I was also surprised at how the window is a little wider than the original, so now my movable window blind doesn't come to the windowsill anymore. Also, the edges of the framework around the fixed window and the closet are a bit wider so I had to get them reinstalled because I can't get the screws in.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us, Debbie! We are so pleased that you had a great experience with our install team. Thanks for choosing Renewal by Andersen yet again - we appreciate your business!

We already had some other quotes but the Renewal by Andersen rep came out and did her measurements. Then, we looked at options and the different types of windows, and we decided to go with the windows that she selected. She was a very experienced salesperson and knew a lot about windows such as the grade of the glass. We bought 17 windows and the installation was seamless. It took two days which I thought would take longer than that. They showed up when they said they were going to show up, left when they said they were going to leave and finished on time. The crew that I had did an excellent job. The windows are awesome and they've made a huge difference. There was a draft in front of some of the windows prior but now, there’s nothing. Renewal by Andersen is not cheap, but it's an investment that's well worth it.
17 windows - WOW! Thanks for choosing Renewal by Andersen for this large home improvement project! We were so happy to be able to serve you! And thanks for taking the time to leave a review, Marshal!

Renewal by Andersen has a strong background in their windows. I purchased a patio door and three other windows. All the rep wanted to do was to sell windows. He was pushy but I needed windows and I knew Andersen was a strong company so I still went with them. I was not too happy with that salesperson. He hadn’t given me the expertise I needed and the financing he gave me was wrong. I was told that it would take about a month but it ended up to be almost four months. Moreover, when the guy came to measure the windows didn’t have what I especially wanted on the order.
My dad was here while they were installing it. They were here on the coolest day, at negative 14. They got it done and it was a decent product. They reminded me not to use the patio door or the windows since it's winter time but it had kept the cold out. It is a lot better than what I had before. I would recommend Renewal by Andersen to a friend, but they should avoid the rep I dealt with.

Renewal by Andersen did a fine job in putting the patio door. When their representatives came in, they explained exactly what they were going to do and so I got out of the way. They also answered all my questions and acted like professionals. Since I had two doors, they told me it would take eight hours to do the job. But it only took them six, so it was well within what they told me it was going to take. Overall, Renewal by Andersen has proven that they have a good reputation, and while they are probably between mid to higher range, their quality matches the price. I would recommend them.
Thanks for leaving us a review, Gary! And thank you for offering a recommendation for us - we appreciate it! We hope you are enjoying your new patio door!! Thanks again!

We’ve heard a lot about Renewal by Andersen and they’re also in Minnesota. We were at a car show festival and we happened to see them. They had signed up for an appointment that you can get so much off and then it would be good for years. We were tired of our living room being cold so the window has to be replaced. We had plastic over the other one and it was still cold. It was probably 20 years old or more already and we had four panels on the other one, two in the middle and the other in the end opened up. So, we had Renewal come out and they gave us an estimate which was pretty reasonable from what we have been told before by others. We told them to go ahead and have it done. They put the windows at the start of January.
The window is a tri-window. It has one big window and two sliding windows, one on each side. We had a door window before but that was quite expensive to replace so we went with this one. We really like the new windows and it took them about three and half hours to put it in. The installers were very cautious. They raised a curtain down the floor and they put their shoes off and took everything up. So, it was very clean and what they did was very good. They also told us what they were doing and what we had to do to fix it because the inspector came too early without them really having to start anything so we had to call them and have them come again. But other than that, we are happy and the window is perfect. They made a big difference in our living room. It is brighter.
The girl who gave us the estimate was very friendly. She explained everything to us. Then, the guy came out to take the measurements again and they were knowledgeable about what they were doing. They kept asking us if we had questions which were very nice of them. The representative or the manager even came by two hours later to see how things were going. It was smoother than the last time we had them. Renewal by Andersen did a good job. They even left paper around the wooden frame on the window. They went an extra mile and did follow-ups if everything looked good. I was very satisfied with everything. Both guys that came out here, the representatives, the people calling, everybody was friendly and helpful. If we have to do windows again, I’d do Andersen.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with Renewal by Andersen, Betty! So happy to hear that you had a great experience with our team and are enjoying your new windows! Thanks for choosing Renewal by Andersen!

I researched and Renewal by Andersen seemed to be well-known and high quality and they had an excellent warranty. We had arranged the time through the office and the rep came out to the house. He walked the house to see what I needed and was able to sit down and give me a quote. He was very informative, not a pressure situation. Based on what I heard and the price he was able to quote, it had come back to where I was acceptable within what I anticipated so I was able to sign up that day. I signed a contract that day to get the process started but he was not pressuring me to do that, which I very much appreciated. That always rubs me the wrong way when they're like, “Let's leave with the deal.” I replaced the windows for my entire home with the double-hung and it was high efficiency. I have a very old house.
They found lead and so they came in with the lead abatement team first and cornered that off. Then the installers came through behind, then they started upstairs, which took two days. They finished downstairs and they did a great job. The windows are great and have good quality. I have a 120-year-old that had original windows so it's really nice to have new windows. It was definitely expensive but, in this instance, you get what you pay for. They're really good windows. I have had a lot of heat loss in the winter the last several years. It's much more comfortable in my home. The installer who came out was excellent and was very helpful. It's always interesting when you have people in your house, and he was really professional. I would recommend Renewal by Andersen.

We bought five big picture windows with sliders, a double-hung window, and a patio door from Renewal by Andersen since we wanted something that would last a long time. Their rep was really informative, helpful, and very thorough. He told us that the products were the determination of wood and the composite material called Fibrex. Once we put the order in, they told us that the order would take six weeks to make. After that, we scheduled the installation, which went really well. We had a hot tub installed too so they were working with that. The installation was finished within two days. However, one of the screens had a hole in it and some were faded so now they're in the process of bringing new screens in. I’m thankful that it went as smoothly as it did and I’m very satisfied. I would recommend them.

We had Andersen install two replacement picture windows 11 days ago. Cost $12,000. That's not a typo. They put something like $200 into their bid for stucco repair and paint to make the exterior good again from the damage caused by pulling out the old windows. You and I both know that $200 won't prime and paint a bird house unless you do it yourself. So, we declined to use their stucco guy and used our own. They are also window and exterior trim installers as well as flashing and roofing experts. They told us that the windows are installed incorrectly. Andersen put them in too low, so that now they have created a standing trough where water will collect at the bottom of the windows; they didn't install them flush to the weather bead, in fact they are about an inch behind it, and you can see that the windows run out from one side to the other; they are not even parallel to the framing.
I am quite sure that their stucco repairman would have tried to cover this all up with stucco and caulk, which would have had to be removed once water started coming into the wall cavity. It is worse than a weekend DIY job by a first-timer. I should have listened to my best judgment because the neighbors across the street also had a botched job by Andersen and after 18 months of haggling reached a settlement with them, but with an NDA (non-disclosure agreement), meaning they agreed to not talk about the settlement. Andersen somehow gets by on reputation, but their work is incompetent.

I even emailed the company directly and told them that their constant emails were overloading my mailbox and to please stopped. That slowed it down for a few weeks. But now we're back again to daily blasts and when I travel I miss critical emails because my mailbox is full. Is there no privacy statute that prevents this harassment?

My husband and I had bought a home that had some Andersen windows installed so we thought we would continue replacing the old windows from this company. We had a front window replaced, a patio door with a matching handle and hinges, and they exam the existing windows for any defects for free. We were so happy with the great service! We began making payments but noticed a few months later our balance owed was now double? I attempted to get some information from numerous people and phone numbers for a total of seventeen months. I gave up for a long time because I have been battling with some health issues. We still make our payments on time and now we are trying to get a statement of work done from renewal by Andersen Windows once again.

I was nice when I called and explained why I was hesitant to give out other numbers. She still tried to play a very dangerous game. I purchased 17 replacement windows for my home in February 2006 and spent over $21,000. It has been 11 years and the weather stripping on 3 of the south facing windows is falling off. They said they have had problems with that but won't cover it under warranty because the warranty is only 10 years. Also 5 or 6 of the window cranks are completely stripped and won't open or close.
I purchased these because I thought they were the best out there. When I went to their store in Roseville, MN they put me on the phone with one of their service managers. After I threatened to call the Attorney General he agreed to give me the weather stripping and window cranks but I have to install them myself. The lady at the front counter was rude and arrogant and smelled like she had been smoking cigarettes all day. I would not recommend these windows or this company to anyone and will tell all of my neighbors and 1000 plus Facebook friends not to buy their windows.

Oh boy... wish I had read the previous reviews prior to getting involved with Renewal by Andersen!!! I have been very interested in purchasing new replacement windows for my home for a very long time. My home was rebuilt in 2000 because my home of 35 yrs. was destroyed in the May 3, 1999 F5 tornado. The builder installed vinyl windows throughout my home. 3 to 4 yrs. ago all of the windows began failing. They are double paned windows and all of the seals began breaking and allowing condensation to form inside the windows. You cannot get to this area to clean it.
Additionally, about half of the windows are forming mold on the inside of the glass. I've been seeing the Fibrex windows advertised and was very interested in what the commercials had to say about them. I received a flyer in the mail from Renewal by Andersen advertising a huge sale, so decided to have them come out to obtain more information. The "so-called MANAGER" that came out, in my opinion, is a TOP-NOTCH SHYSTER!!! Lots of fast double-talk. HE did not sell me on the windows as I was already sold on them.
Now for the issue we are having: He met with me and my husband and informed us that the cost for the windows would be $25,266.00 (yikes). He stated, and I quote, "you are so lucky that I am the one that came to your home because I am a manager and I can offer you a deal that nobody else can offer you"... (He made that statement twice.) He emphatically stated that they would take care of the financing themselves and he offered us a 10 year loan at 1.8%. Our payments were to be $270/month at a fixed rate. So, unfortunately, we jumped on that and signed paperwork.
HERE'S THE PROBLEM: We received the loan information from "their" bank on 8/24 (deadline to cancel the agreement was only 3 days after signing the agreement, which would have been on 8/23 - how convenient for them!). The bank information states that the windows are indeed $25,266 but... the interest on the loan is not the 1.8% this so-called manager stated but rather 6.99%!!! So this brings the total cost of the windows to a great big whopping $37,665.37!!!
I almost fainted when I read that!!! My husband attempted to call this so-called manager. Line was busy. Husband called back, got an answering machine. Husband left a message for a return call to us. Never got it. Husband called the bank/finance company and got nowhere. They needed an "account number" to look up the information, but there is no account number on any of our paperwork. Husband called the office of Renewal by Andersen, and the "manager" was not in. Nor did they know when to expect him. Husband told the man on the phone what the problem was, and the man on the other end of the phone stated "there's no way we could offer a 1.8% interest rate!!!"
So, bright and early this coming Monday morning (this is Saturday night) my husband and I are going to personally drive to this Renewal by Andersen office to try and get this mess straightened out. Luckily we have not signed anything that shows this 6.99% interest rate. AND... after reading the reviews about this company, I just want out of this mess.
My husband and I are both retired and we also both have part-time jobs to help make ends meet. There is no way we would have signed up for this type of cost to us. The interest rate alone is a total of $12,399.37!!! One would have to be a fool to agree to something this outrageous!!! I will follow up with another review after we meet with them on Monday morning. At this point in time, my advice to anyone reading these reviews is to RUN, DON'T. WALK FROM ANDERSEN AS fast as you can!!!

We paid for window replacements in December, 2016 and had our windows replaced in January. The windows seemed good enough but not a single window screen fit the new windows. The installers noted this and took the window screens back with them in January. Thus began a tale of incompetence which is hard to believe. On three occasions, representatives from the Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania branch came out to "measure" the windows. After the first visit, we waited an intolerable 6 - 8 weeks for the modified screens to be delivered. Incredibly, not one screen fit when the representative came out to install them and one questions whether they did anything to rebuild the screens! Before he left the technician supposedly "measured" the windows and again took them back to the company.
After waiting another 6 - 8 weeks another installer came out with the "rebuilt" screens and remarkably not one screen fit. This installer seemingly took accurate measurements and again requested that the screens be modified for the new measurements. The screens were to be delivered some 6 weeks later only they were incredibly "left off" the delivery truck thus delaying delivery by another period of weeks. For an organization of this size, it is unheard of that such incompetence should exist. I would never recommend Renewal By Andersen to any acquaintance of mine and their policy of handling all problems from installation to service is completely fallacious.

We had a poor experience with Renewal by Andersen - actually, we continue to deal with it since their project is not yet complete, even after one month since install. Overall, the casement windows from the inside out look good, though they have to return for minor cosmetic touch ups, which they have agreed to do but with no date agreed upon yet. Our real problem is with the outside appearance. The install team removed the existing J-track but did not replace. This left an unsightly dark stain around the top of the window. The Renewal by Andersen team have come out 3 times to verify our concerns but each time they leave after stating that J-track was not part of the install. If it was, we should have asked. Though we never heard of a J-track until after the project.
Since Renewal by Andersen is not backing their project, we will have to hire a local contractor to complete the project. Amazing that we invested significant $s because we trusted the Renewal by Andersen experience only to be stiffed in the end and forced to go out and seek another contractor to finish the project. Recommend that you don't use Renewal by Andersen. You are better off going to Home Depot and purchasing similar quality windows and hiring a local contractor that stands by his/her work.

I purchased RBA 7 windows and three doors in January and was told it would be 6-8 weeks for delivery and installation. I was called several times to update the delivery and installation availability. We finally settled on March 25 to install 2 very large picture windows, side double-hung for each, a French door, a back entry door, front entry door and kitchen window. All in all--roughly $32,000. I went with RBA because they "said" they had their own installers, and the discounts were hefty. They would have to tear out the old casings on everything and reconstruct new casings and sills, etc. It would be a hefty job.
They arrived the week prior to remove the old french door and enclose the opening (there was rot in the sills from the old door leaking and RBA built a wonderful base, frame, etc. for the new door). They were quick and efficient and cleaned up beautifully. The next week they came on time to rip out the old casings and windows and doors and began rebuilding and installing the new windows, doors and casing and trim work. They started around 8 am and by 3 pm with 5 guys, they were down to just the picture windows/double-hung, and the front door. The kitchen window, the french door and the backdoor were exquisitely installed and trimmed--just beautiful. But I could tell they were rushing to get the job done on the rest of the windows and doors. The front door did not lock properly and they "locked it so that no one could enter until their installation manager could take a look at it" the next week.
Honestly, from that point on, I knew I was in for a long haul with their customer service reps, installer contacts, and order reps. It turned out that the door was installed incorrectly. They had to bring out the door sales rep (the door is not at RBA product, although they sell it), and I was "assured" that I would not have to be the go-between to get this door installed and functioning ($5000 entry door). It took four trips to get the door functioning.
Let me tell you about the picture windows and the double-hung... it is now May 31 and they are still not installed fully and correctly. The factory is so busy because RBA oversold their product during the last 6 months, that the factory cannot keep up with the delivery and the quality demands of their product. The grills on the picture windows (prairie-style) do not fit and are not attached properly by the installers (who confess they don't look at the quality of their product, they just install). The lower sashes on the double-hung are crooked and the grilles are also misaligned. RBA has taken a long time to get new sashes and when they arrived, none were correct, and one even had a one-inch glob of paint/dirt on the sash--all of it passing the quality inspection at the factory!!
I am still waiting for the new sashes. It has been 10 days (and a holiday) since they ordered the new ones and I have heard nothing from the company. I had to call the order service rep and when she did not respond to my calls, I called the installation manager. I was told he would find out what is going on--I then received a call from the order rep who said the sashes are still not in and even though there is a "rush" on them, she is not sure when they will be delivered.
I have also tried to get the name of the president of RBA so I can give him (her?) the complaint (and praise), but the company will not give out that information. I will keep trying. There are so many customer service/installation issues, that I will not EVER use RBA again. Too bad, too. I still have windows on the house to replace and window and door on the garage to replace.

I contacted Renewal by Andersen for a price quote as I needed a few replacement windows in my home. The salesperson arrived on time, was friendly and professional. But after his sales pitch of the windows another sales pitch came that left me feeling very uncomfortable. It was regarding how the windows would be paid for as his sales pitch was this great offer of 0 percent finance if the windows were paid off within a year of the signed contract. I am old enough to know nothing is free and if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. As I did a bit of checking on this offer so my salesperson was correct in the fact it was 0 percent loan if paid off within a year but miss the payoff by even one day your interest payment will skyrocket to 23 percent interest. While this may seem simple just by making the payoff on time there are a few snags that may undermine your credit.
This type of loan stands as credit owed until paid off and could limit a person on any additional loans they may require within the one year period of free financing. Renewal by Andersen pays GreenSky Credit a transaction fee for instant credit which you guessed it gets passed along to you in the form of a higher cost of your window replacement. GreenSky Credit is just a broker bringing bank financing to merchants so they are able to make a sale at your home immediately as once your sales rep is done with his pitch they make it a point to make the sale before leaving knowing it increases the odds of getting the job. GreenSky Credit is the biggest winner in this as they make a profit by financing homeowner project for merchants like Renewal by Andersen and then they are paid again by the banks they deal with for bringing in new secured loans so who do you think ends up paying all these costs?
The answer is the homeowner as even if you pay the 0 percent cost of your windows within a year Renewal by Andersen overcharged to make up for the cost of the transaction fee charges to them by using GreenSky Credit. As a consumer the more middle men you have in any project rack up unnecessary charges as with Renewal by Andersen. They have a middle man in the financing plus since they are only a franchise business they also have a markup on the labor as this is done by many different separate window installation companies. So dealing direct with a smaller window company would give you a much better cost along with more control over your project. While Renewal by Andersen may sell a good quality product the financing side and who makes out is pretty shady and that's how this company lost me as a potential customer.

Salesmen Tony and Francis showed up at my house and blabbered for the next 90 minutes. Despite my telling them that I wasn't interested in financing or having additional windows measured for replacement - They pressed. They sent no less than 3 incorrect/incomplete contracts. When we refused to sign the poorly written contracts, They pressed. The fast and furious texts/emails became so obnoxious, that I had to block RBA emails and texts. These reps bulldoze clients with high-pressure sales tactics. We got a bid from a local contractor for 40% the cost that RBA had quoted. The moral here - When a salesman says: "We're not here to give you a high pressured sales pitch" - That's EXACTLY where you will find yourself. Avoid this vendor and save yourself the time and stress of greedy salesmen.

There are very strong pros and cons with working with Renewal by Andersen in Denver, CO. The pros are that the windows are extremely high quality and the installers are outstanding. The cons are that you get what you pay for-- they're not cheap. And, you have to deal with their sales pitch. This company is one of those that comes out to the house and all financially responsible people have to be there. And you have to make a decision before they leave. I HATE that type of sales. BUT our salesperson was very nice and helpful, and we are very happy with the outcome of the beautiful windows. So, my advice to you is to do your research before you make the appointment and be prepared to make a decision. The quality of both the windows and the installer's workmanship was well worth the price.

Never gave me any other options, never measured any window or length of our home for siding. Not once did he show me a picture let alone let me look at a brochure. I finally got brochure as he was leaving and I asked for it. When this appt. was made their company knew my husband could not attend the meeting, they seemed to have no problem with it, after all they sent salesman out. During our conversation he asked me if I was up to signing a multimillion $ contract with my husband not being here. I said "No, most married couples don't make that big of a decision without talking to each other." I called my husband and he talked to the man. Once again Chris asked my husband if he was willing to allow me to sign a multimillion $ contract. He said "No."
Chris said they like both spouses to be home when they come out. At the end as he was leaving I explained my husband is very knowledgeable and when they come back out on a Sunday when we was both available my husband likes to get to the point and not waste time. The salesman said "you need to remind him we are driving 2 hours to your house and on a Sunday"... The more I thought about it, I can't do business with a company like this. Plus they don't sell windows with shades built in them. The only siding they sell is steel. Not my cup of tea. Anyone else that goes thru this company I wish them the best of luck. I am sure there are other salesmen that work there that are a lot better at their jobs.

The hook was interest free financing but they over inflate the price so they make more money. We feel we were ripped off and deceived. Now I have to get a lawyer to fight. Not worth it. The consultation is a minimum 90 minutes, so I will suggest that you allow this time and more to get a clear understanding of the company you are investing in and allowing into your home. Having window experience as an installer and hearing the steps being taken during an installation was comforting with my family and I, as we have a new addition to our family/home (grandchild) and the demolition during this project was going to be a great concern.
Whether we were going forward with the final installation or not, I would definitely recommend anyone that needs a window/door improvement project to have a consultation with Andersen Windows. Quality material along with Number 1 customer service is the reward you will receive with Andersen Windows and my family and I greatly appreciate the time and efforts taken by the entire Andersen Team.

In the process he questioned the efficacy in blocking the cold of the existing older Andersen unit and bad mouthed the 14 windows that I had recently installed by a locally owned competitor. When I reacted negatively to the cost he then pulled the usual "to keep the crew busy we can give you a discount if you have it done some 6 to 8 weeks from now". Alleged discount was only 10%. We were very unhappy with installs on our sliding door. First install was done in April 2016. The first installer put the door together wrong and left it. Which I called Andersen right after the installer was finished and made a complaint. They had one of their inspectors come down and said "you will have to wait for a new door to be made." That will take up to 8 weeks. In June they came to install the second sliding door, everything looked good. Till two days later the main sliding door came off its track. This does not usually happen.
The inspector came again. This time they said will order new heavier rollers, which they're coming to install July 28. Hopefully this will be the last time they have to come back. The installer owner came by to see the problem on the first install, told us he would try to get some money back. Which they didn't. It is very sad how they can claim to have their own installers but use outside contractors to do their installs. The first installer was from far Rockaway and they put a magnetic sign over it to say Andersen. I know this is how most companies work, but it's a real shame!!!

Later I found out that she told them she would be there too, but she had to work. The salesman was about 30, heavy set and he seemed arrogant from the get go. Instead of going with me to the patio door, he started walking around my living room, telling me that basically my windows were crap. I told him I wasn't interested in windows and I walked him over to the patio door and expected him to do something besides stand there and ask me if his staff had screwed up and not told my wife that both of us needed to be there.
I looked at his quizzically and said, "I'm not buying life insurance, just a door. My wife doesn't need to be here." I asked him to give me an estimate for a mid range door and he refused to give me any kind of estimate. I told him he was wasting my time and he needed to leave. He copped an attitude and wouldn't budge and I told him I would call the police if he didn't leave immediately. I got my phone out and he eventually left my home, making sarcastic comments on his way out. Do people honestly put up with such nonsense? I've been a homeowner for decades and never had anything like this happen. Amazing!

Please save yourself the headache & the expense of a ridiculously overpriced, inferior product. Our experience with Renewal by Andersen was a disaster. We thought that we would be getting a great installation & a superior product that could withstand the direct sun & heat our home experiences due to a full Southern exposure.
We ordered the darkest window they offer, to prevent fading of furniture from the sun. Someone on their team "decided" we needed the less dark window, without bothering to contact us. So they sent the wrong windows. It took us 3 months to get them to acknowledge & correct their error. They broke one window THREE time before getting it installed correctly. Another window shattered within 2 days of the installation.
Here we are less than 6 months from the installation and the large living room window is sagging at the bottom & the caulk around the window is cracking. We had the installer come back and he said "the Fibrex material can't take the heat of this Southern exposure. We'll have to remove the Fibrex and replace it with an aluminum frame."
During their entire presentation, they kept touting that Fibrex is far superior to the aluminum that other window manufacturers offer. Yet, in less than 6 months, they are offering to "fix" the sagging window by removing the Fibrex frame & replacing it with aluminum. Fortunately, we only ordered a few windows from Andersen, not the entire house. We ordered the rest of the windows from Pella. Night & day improvement with the Pella process! Got exactly the windows we ordered. They were delivered on time & properly installed. Pella was priced better & is a far superior product.
The Andersen people are super, high pressure sales. They basically won't leave your house until you sign a contract. The entire process with Andersen was a high pressure, over priced, low quality product, poor customer service experience. I would not recommend Andersen to anyone. Ever. I have attached a photo to show where the window has warped. The upper window is Andersen. The lower, perfectly straight, non-warped window is Pella. Both have exactly the same sun exposure.

With Andersen, after about 30 minutes of the salesperson run around they finally made the decision that their windows were too expensive for our house. They came to that conclusion because we said we might move within 5 years. They were telling me that my Pella Windows 8000 series would without a doubt rot within 10 years (reading reviews here it sounds like that's what their windows did). Also they mentioned that Andersen buries their windows in Florida swamps to test their durability. Typical sales tactics. If you want to get sold on windows, give Andersen a shot. If you want to buy a product whose performance simply sells itself look elsewhere.

Andersen 1-800 reps are required to go through a lengthy Q&A with new customers that is painful, intrusive, time consuming and unnecessary as all the same information is readily available during the bidding process. The salesman is called a 'design consultant' which is a huge red flag - this company is ready to SELL you.
Also, getting a 'design consultant' (salesman) to bid REQUIRES both homeowners be present and that a homeowner commit to an hour and half meeting - another red flag but I don't know why. Right after we ordered our windows they came out with the sale of 20% off everything, windows, patio doors and installation so we felt cheated that way. Then we couldn't get the 1 year free interest because their lender wouldn't approve our loan as we only had a credit rating of 817 according to a letter received from the lender. Then we were told they were 95% efficient and according to our utility even though they are energy star rated the SHGC rating is not high enough.
Do not buy these windows. The sales people do not tell the truth and we are out several thousand dollars because we believed Andersen to be a good brand. Never again. The only thing they told correctly was that the installation crew was good and would clean up their mess. We don't have an order number to put on this as never received one and also never were given the cost breakdown of what each window cost. And also how much installation was. We have figured out the cost of installation pretty much by subtracting what they say is the price we might be able to use for Federal Energy Rebate. However with no rebate allowed locally because they don't meet the standards. I doubt if they meet Federal standards. Just one more lie.

Renewal by Andersen has very aggressive marketing and sales team. I don't fault them for that, but the folks who we came in contact with were not very up to date on important information, nor did they take responsibility for our work once they had our deposit. We told the sales folks who originally called that we live in a historic building and they told us this was no problem. We also reminded the salesman of the historic building and he, too, did not envision a problem. Having been told by other contractors that the side and back windows (not clearly visible to the street) did not require Landmark approval, we hoped for the best. We made 2 separate appointments for remeasuring and a very savvy man stopped by. He seemed to know more about pulling permits and the approval process, but didn't warn of any problems.
A week later, I got a call from the salesman who told me that the Landmark Association had not approved of our windows. He didn't say why and didn't send any paper backup. I asked him when we would be getting our (full) deposit back, over $1600 and he said he was not responsible and couldn't make that decision. My husband called him a few days later and he sang the same tune. Even after we both requested contact information for someone in charge, no one ever followed up. Luckily I had not yet paid the credit card bill that included this charge so I called to stop payment. I assume that they will never follow up and would be happy to keep our money. With this sort of fraudulent, irresponsible behavior, I am surprised that they have a top consumer satisfaction rating. Buyer BEWARE!

Let me know that he did not have the tape measure so he would have to buy one at a hardware store and I said that was fine I would wait for him. I was excited and looking forward to having new windows because I had heard very many promising things at Andersen Windows. Gentlemen I believe he said his name was **. He told me that the windows were going to cost me quite a bit, and was unsure if I could afford them. He proceeded to measure the windows then gave me a quote of $30,000 for my windows I have a total of 12. He told me that he could give me a discount of 5000. I told him that was a little too much for me.
He asked me not to waste his time, and what would it take for me to purchase the windows today. I told him "I'm not going to paint over $18,000." He said "If you could do that now then I signed the papers been there". I told them "I would have to look at my finances". He pressured me to try and sign the papers right then and there - I told him "No I could not do that". He said I was wasting his time. He stormed out. By the way the reason he was giving me a $5000 discount was because I had called Andersen Windows previous. The 800 # told me that they do not service my area, he then I was being discriminated against. I commented that happened over the phone and the gentleman could not see what color I was.
This gentleman was a black man that drove a BMW small black sports car said he has twins of five years. He is very very abrupt and I will not deal with someone who does that character. He tried to pressure me into signing the contract then and there. I would not so therefore he stormed out. He said "you're wasting my time".

I ordered a replacement slider and a replacement side window. They assured me that they would be custom-made. They came to measure the openings "To make sure they would fit the first time." After waiting over a month for these custom-made windows, they arrived with sliders that fit, but the side window that did not (Apparently they just sent something that was stock). They assured me that they would put a rush on the replacement for the side window (The side window was the real reason I called in the first place). Then they called for an install date. The replacement "rush" window is going to take TWICE as long as the original order did. And they expect me to pay the bill in the mean time. I took down the advertisement they posted on my lawn without my permission. DO NOT use this company. Once they have you sucked into a contract, they will screw you.

I should have come to this site first, before agreeing to meet with the Andersen salesman. BIG MISTAKE! At first, ** was polite and conversational. He then asked me a series of questions that he was reading off a form, then asked to measure all our windows. I told him, "When I called in I told the person answering the phone we would only be wanting a quote for three living room windows." He asked why we wouldn't be replacing all our windows and we told him, "Because of the expense." After measuring, he again asked why we wouldn't consider replacing all our windows. He then said, "Not replacing all the windows is like when a car tire has 8 holes in it and you only fix 4 of them." Huh??
Anyway, he then pulled a HUGE 3-ring notebook out of his briefcase that must have had 150 pages in it. He proceeded to turn to page one, beginning with a history of the Andersen company. After about 15 minutes, both my wife's and my eyes were glazing over and we asked if he could just give us a quote. He then became incensed and said he wasn't doing his job correctly if he couldn't "educate" us on why his product was so superior. He asked if we wanted him to call his manager so he could skip the rest of the presentation. We said, "Yes." He went outside and returned about 5 minutes later. He then hastily wrote out a quote sheet for the 3 windows that totaled more than $6000 -- more than DOUBLE our other quotes. I can see how people who might be susceptible to a high-pressure sales tactic like this might be worn down after an hour of this. BEWARE!!

I had a 9-foot patio door put in and also one standard back door put in. I love the product. The installation was extremely inferior. Unless things improve, I would not use their installation services again.

After being "required" to have both my husband and myself present for a window replacement bid we were given a sales spiel that took 2 1/2 hours. Measurements were taken and the rep came up with 22 windows, after we were told by the scheduler our bay window was considered one unit. After beating up every single window company out there, telling us if we went with vinyl windows to buy the cheapest we could because they are ALL MADE THE SAME. He told us Pella had a class action suit against them and proceeded to show us all the fine printing for these window companies and all the caveats written in. Then told us their windows were 100% guaranteed for a lifetime even if we had a rock chip fly up, from the lawn, over they would cover it for free.
Basically when you buy their windows everything is free from then out. He pulled the heat lamp trick, showed us where vinyl windows can be taken out by a burglar simply by removing the narrow trim and that they always warp in hot sun. On and on ad nausea. THEN we get the price, $64,000.00 We were blown away as we wanted nothing special just plain glass. All of a sudden the promos began coming out. Wow all of a sudden we're almost 1/2 of the original quote... and OH, if we signed today we could get another $3000.00 reduced. I told him we never sign a contract immediately and he looked like a hound dog and said, "most people who don't sign the day of typically never do it." I said oh well, then he began the insulting financial "problem" pressure and I said "I really don't care about the $3,000.00" and he looked at me sarcastically and said "really?" I said really.
We might be here another 10 years and there is no way on this earth I would pay that kind of money for windows. After reading all the consumer reviews I am convince now more than ever we made a very good choice NOT to purchase these windows. If you decide to go head to head with any sales people, stay on track because they like to engage on a more personal level like they're your friend. I mean REALLY? I hope ** reads these reviews and realizes what internal issues exist. That's my story.

What a ripoff. Do not waste your money! We ordered 2 windows and 2 doors. We thought they were wood, they were vinyl!! The install was supposed to take 2 days...we are on our 6th week! They are so slow. One door came damaged and was installed anyway, so we had to order another one. The other door came and wasn't square and had to be taken out because it wouldn't shut. One door has issues with the locking mechanism. They ripped the siding off the side of our house and ruined it - and we had to get a manager out to approve the replacement of it. To top it off, one of the workers has been stealing things from homes. We aren't sure if he got anything from us.
So, if you are dumb enough to waste your money on these windows and doors, get EVERYTHING in writing. Their sales people are liars and cheaters. I mean everything. If you are smart, you will call Economy Lumber. Half the price for the same product. That is who we will call for the other 42 windows in our house. What a mess. Such a disappointment. These people should be out of business. I wish I knew who to call.

I purchased new windows from Renewal by Andersen and the window installation was horrible. Cold air rushed through the edges of the windows because they forgot to caulk the windows. There were a series of errors that brought the installers back at least five times. Today my windows leak and it is damaging my home. Andersen repair people were nice but as of today, my windows still leak and now they are saying it is not their fault. From day one after installation, I documented and reported problems. Renewal by Andersen have great ads and nice brochures but the windows are the worst. My windows have been leaking since the day they were installed. Shame on Renewal by Andersen. I have pictures of the damage, copies of emails and letters sent, and good documentation of the problems.

Unbelievable. I scheduled an appointment with Andersen Windows. They asked who owned the home and I said that I do. The next day I get a call at work asking me to call them back. They said that they had pulled the county records and that I owned the house with another person. I said, "Yes, my husband." They said that my husband had to attend the appointment. What? Am I not allowed to make a decision as a female? Who do they think makes these decisions? I guess they think my husband won't let me spend any money. Ha. Women of the world, rise up, and refuse to do business with Andersen Windows. How insulting!

Called to get an estimate on replacement windows. The two sales people I spoke with kept asking if both my husband and I would be home at the time of the estimate. I told them yes but asked why it was necessary for us both to be home for an estimate. They asked if I was the primary owner of the house. I said yes. After discussing dates I told them that my husband works retail and I work strange/varied hours and that on second thought I wouldn't be able to have us both available at the same time.
After several words on how inappropriate it was to expect us both to work around their schedule instead of just leaving info with one of us to discuss with the other I cancelled the appointment. The gentleman did apologize but advised me this is a script they are given to read. I read the reviews which confirmed my feelings about these inappropriate tactics & now never will I use Andersen windows.

Had a "salesman" from AW come to house and was aggressive, pushy and a real jerk. Did his "hot light" test of existing windows and of course said how poor they were. I asked him to come out after AW installed to do same test and he never returned. He repeatedly made calculation errors each time I questioned his price, especially after he left our house. Each estimate didn't add up and he kept correcting his mistakes. Don't let these people intimidate you as they are trained NOT to leave your house without a sale from you. Our rep was a total jerk!

I was unloading groceries from my car and was approached by what was basically a door to door salesman for Andersen, which is annoying in itself. Normally I would not have even answered the door, but they caught me in the driveway and started the pitch. Honestly, we had on the work plan for the year to replace the windows so I figured, fine sure let's set up a quote and just see. Then the woman tells me that they like to do it the next day or as soon as possible and really pushes me to make the appointment, which I do.
The next day I get contacted by their "scheduling" department and they tell me that they will not come and quote anything without my husband there because "they have so many choices on glass, color and grilles they don't want to have to answer questions later, they like decisions made that day". This annoys me since, I told the sales person that it would be just me and quite honestly I know what we need and I am fully capable of making decisions...thanks. Since they literally just swarmed me and pressured me to do this only to be told "not without your husband", this majorly turns me off. I just wanted an initial quote and the guy basically told me we both had to be there for the hard sell. After reading all the reviews online I think I dodged a bullet, they sound shady and the windows sound shoddy! I would say stay away.

Today I called Anderson Windows main number to set up an appointment to come to our home to price out 16 windows that need to be replaced. The rep said they wanted a 90 minute appointment and I said I only had 60 minutes and that Pella and Millgaurd companies were both able to give me a quote in 60 minutes. The rep just wanted to argue with me when I politely and simply said, "No, I have 1 hour available." THEN, get this... the rep said I had to have "your husband, the primary decision maker home at the time of the consultation!!!!" Holy crap! REALLY!

I scheduled a sales rep to come to my house online. I received a call back to setup a time. First, they would not make the appointment unless my wife was home with me. I told them it didn't matter because we are just looking for information and I would relay any info to her. They did not accept that so I had to inconvenience my wife to make the appointment. After a two hour presentation, much of it asking about how my wife and I met, I was told the pricing of $11,940 for 6 windows. It's a good window but come on! The rep told me if I said yes on the spot it would cost $8,955. I said I would not decide anything that night.
Then the "pressure" tactics started by telling me that I would be wasting money by waiting, spend the same elsewhere, would be silly to wait, trying to rub financing in my face (which I said from the begging I don't want to do), etc, etc. I told the rep she was pressuring me and I would not have it. The meeting got awkward, I said I would think about it, the rep said I won't call back, and then it was over.

I ordered 28 windows from Renewal by Andersen at the end of July, and was told the order would take about 8 weeks. A gentleman came out the following week to measure my windows. A few changes were made - the finish was changed. The salesman called to verify the changes and said there would be a credit. I asked for an itemized bill, I wanted to know how much a window cost. He stated he would get back to me, but never did. I would call him but he did not return my calls. I tried calling the office but only got voicemail. Time went by, not hearing from anyone.
Then in Dec, I came home to a voicemail saying my windows would be installed on Jan 4. Again, I was told they would be installed before winter. So now here were one of the coldest weeks of the year!!! I finally spoke with a person in the office and again asked for an itemized bill. She said she would look into it and never has. The installers were great, they cleaned the rooms when done and helped pit the furniture back.
I gave the checks on the first day and last day. I unintentionally make a mistake when I made out the check, left out a zero. I chose to write a check because I was uncomfortable putting all my info on a piece of paper that could easily be misplaced. The office called to correct my mistake. I decided to use this to my advantage and said, "When I got the itemized bill, I would pay the bill." I am still waiting despite several calls to the office.

In 2010 my Condo HOA put together a package deal with renewal for doors and windows in order to get a good price for each homeowner. Windows: we got nothing close to what we ordered, but something much cheaper. After lots of back and forth, renewal would do NOTHING to correct their screw up. Doors: a nightmare - Opening and Closing takes the strength of a linebacker - now falling apart. Renewal surrounded themselves with layers of contractors and "oh, that man is no longer with us" so as to never take responsibility or do the right thing in order to save their name. They obviously depend on their pricey advertising to dupe the public.

We had 44 casement windows, one door and an atrium door replaced by Renewal by Andersen. The nightmare began on July 2nd when they began the installation. They ruined our hardwood floors in our living room, dining room and bedroom with something that actually stripped the finish off of them. A floor team came out and repaired the floors and they do not how look like they were prior to the installation. We have several sunburst windows in our kitchen, family room and master bathroom and it took them three times to redo the woodwork on the arch to fit the windows. We paid for the service of taking down our shutters and reinstalling after the window installation.
The sunburst shutters could not be reinstalled because the Andersen windows are not like our prior Marvin windows. The custom sunburst shutters went into the trash. The Atrium door was imperfect and that had to be replaced. There were 9 screens to the windows that did not fit properly and they had to be replaced. Finally, on October 2, 2014 the job was completed. The painter that painted all of the trim was excellent and I would highly recommend him. I would never recommend Renewal by Andersen to anyone. I also gave poor review to the parent company of Renewal by Andersen and requested to be contacted and nobody ever contacted us.

Called to set up an appointment to get an estimate for replacement windows. They said they will have a salesperson contact me, if I'd provide some info. Most companies in similar situation usually ask for a name and phone number. Then the physical address would be given when the sales person calls up to make an appointment.
But, Andersen Windows wanted all sorts of what I deem irrelevant info. As another reviewer mentioned, they mentioned that they would want both husband & wife to be present when the salesperson shows up. When I asked the supervisor why they needed all those questions just so we could get a call from one of their salespersons, she came up with some nonsense excuses. My impression, whether correct or not, was that they run some sort of check on potential customers. If that's what they actually do, why? In this day and age, I'd be stupid to give out all that private info to someone who claims to be an employee of Andersen Windows. While I believe that I was talking with a legit employee, I don't know who they are. It's just a voice at the end of a line and I had called a number off of a mailer. Anyone can send out flyers...
Also, why do they need to store all that personal info in their system when we are not even a customer yet? What if someone out there hacks their system and steal our personal info? Crazy that they want all that info just to get a call from their salesperson. No thank you! We will do business with a company that run their business a bit more logically and customer-oriented.
