I had one window replaced by Renewal by Andersen about two years ago and it's a nice window. When they called again, I said yes and purchased the slider type. I should have known because it was too expensive but I like them. The representatives were very good, polite and nice. The installation process was also short and the installers did a good job. I like my windows. They seem nice and the quality seems good. Renewal by Andersen was very good.
Thanks for the great review, Mary! We are so pleased to hear that you like your new windows! Thanks again for sharing about your experience!

DO NOT purchase windows from Renewal by Andersen. It was my worst financial decision that I have ever made in over 70 yrs. It took them 7 months to install 12 windows. It is a total ripoff. The patio doors alone cost over $3,000 a piece. They measured one of the three patio doors wrong, so we had a boarded up window for over 5 weeks and now we have two windows of normal size and one much smaller. Every one of the 12 windows has a different shade of stain. The wood quality is very poor. Customer relations is the worst of any company that I have ever dealt with. DO NOT give them any money up front. One time they came to install the windows and they were not even close to the stain color we agreed on. The next time, they never showed up or even called. I could go on and on but I will leave this to close; if the windows they installed were in their showroom or with the salesman, they would NEVER make one sale.
Michael, thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I am sorry to hear about this. We paid a bunch of money for six windows and a three-panel door. It took four trips to do the install and the door was not very good. I do not recommend anyone ever pay for their replacement windows. You can find a cheaper price with the same or better quality. I paid for one-stop shopping, thinking I would have no problems with scheduling or install. This was not the case. They came four times for six windows and a door. It took two months of my time to stain and finish the windows, if you don’t mind months of staining and finishing the trim maybe they are for you. Otherwise shop elsewhere.

I was looking to get new windows and I called my friend Diana who is a salesperson. She came over, did the whole spiel, and she was amazing and professional. I did Renewal by Andersen in two steps. I did my upstairs, and then I did my downstairs a year later. Everything that they said happened. The installation was very neat, and clean. It was a great experience. The windows are perfect! I’ve also given the salesperson's name to several people already.
Thanks for the great review, Linda! Glad to hear that the windows your got are perfect for your home! Thanks again for sharing!

I had one of Andersen's salesmen come out and he made a pitch. It was nice. We sat down and he went through the presentation and showed me how the windows are made. They told me the work would be done in a day and it would've been a day but they were missing a sliding glass door. So they had two different dates for the installation. But otherwise, it went real smoothly. I have a problem with my kitchen window though. It has a little crack along the edge and I called to complain about it but I didn’t get anywhere with anybody. But apart from that, the quality has been good so far.
Thanks for sharing, Blaine! Sorry to hear about the crack in your window. Renewal by Andersen product and service is top quality. The salesman, Scottie **, patiently helped us carefully make all of our selections. The measurement tech, Robert **, reviewed all of our selections with us carefully and helped us incorporate some changes to our order. The installation team worked diligently and carefully to install all 18 windows and the front door. They really have their installation process perfected. All of this from start to finish made for a very positive experience.
Thanks for the great review, Susan! We are so glad you love your new windows and door - and that you had a great experience with our installation process! Thanks for sharing!

We have had for installation dates on the third installation date. They call the night before and cancel that said they could not find all the components. Then they rescheduled the fourth time. Never showed up never called. We caught our cells person. We called South Bend operations manager. They know nothing. The next day The general manager calls us. They have not even made our windows yet. We are doing two phases of windows. They offered $100 off the second phase which is a Nother $10,000 and windows. My boyfriend told them he did not know if we was even going to use them again. We have already made a payment on our first phase of windows which is also $10,000. General manager told him he would take $500 off this order. Can’t wait to be done with them.

I was looking for bids on a simple kitchen window and door replacement. After speaking with a customer representative, I was told that in order to send someone out to give me a quote, they needed to meet with both me and my husband. I demurred, stating that (1) he has a difficult schedule to work around and (2) the project is solely mine, from both a planning and fiscal standpoint. I was told that because of the number of choices and price points available for review, they insist on both partners being present at the consult.
Again, I reiterated the fact that my husband is not involved (nor does he want to be) in this project; therefore, his presence is neither necessary nor warranted. I can only assume this policy runs both ways (I.e., that husbands are also required to have wives present). Nevertheless, I find the requirement needlessly inconvenient, not to mention insulting (husbands and wives are perfectly capable discussions between themselves independent of sales personnel) and, quite frankly, silly. I declined to proceed further with this company and have since received bids from several other well-regarded companies in the area, none of whom required my husband’s presence, and one of which will get me business now and, potentially, in the future.
Lea: Thank you for sharing this.with us. I want to reassure you it is NOT a requirement, nor is it our policy that both parties be home for the presentation. While many of our homeowners find it convenient, it is certainly not a requirement, and I am sorry to hear this. Would you be so kind as to message me or email me directly at megan at andersencorp dot com? I want to make sure this gets to the regional manager here at corporate offices. Thank you!

Renewal by Andersen came to offer the best explanation of what they were going to do for our front door. The salesman was very clear in his explanation of what the door would accomplish and how sturdy it was. And then, the workers were very polite and cleaned up after themselves until we were satisfied. The door is very solid. We were looking for a secured door for our front door, and they did a fine job.

Renewal by Andersen wasn't the lowest among several quotes that I got from window retailers but in my estimation, we had the best product so we went with them. The people that came out to measure, and those that came and installed the windows, including the gentleman that gave us the initial quote did a great job and were very professional. The windows are for a church and they're very specialized. They're for one very long channel that is about a story and a half. The church was built in the 60s and it had aluminum frame windows before. They took everything out and they had to manufacture the windows that would fit into those channels. And it all looks great.
Renewal by Andersen gave us a time frame when they came out and measured it and told us when they would be ready to be installed. It didn’t take them very long and everything went smoothly. We weren’t able to do everything in one shot, but they worked with us. Being a church, we needed to raise the money so we did half the windows and then, it’s a year and a half later when we finished the other half of the windows. Renewal by Andersen was a stable company and I would highly recommend them.
Thanks for sharing, Peter! We are glad that we could work to accommodate your unique project. We hope your church enjoys the new windows for many years to come!

The guy at Renewal by Andersen was excellent to work with. He stepped out and gave us a moment to talk about the decision. It was awesome since we were sitting there under pressure and we had to make a decision right away. We’re very pleased with him. By that time, we’ve also heard a lot about the Andersen windows. Plus we really liked the option they gave us. It’s the two-years-to-pay with interest-free. That attracted us a lot. We financed through them and they took care of everything. They sat right here and it was easy. We didn’t have to leave the house.
We were having 18 windows replaced and they gave us a timeline but they actually came earlier than what we anticipated. They also did it in a day. I was very surprised. The crew came in at around 8:00 in the morning and they stayed and finished it. It was late. I don’t even know if they really took a lunch break. We’ve got an old house and it probably had no original windows in it. I just had the storm windows, and they removed and took everything with them. We didn’t have to touch a thing. It was quite a crew. It was a hard-working bunch and we were very tickled with them. And I love the windows. The curtains don’t move when the wind blows anymore.
Thank you, Darrell! We are happy to hear that YOU are happy!

My elderly mother was sold several $1800.00 a piece plain casement windows for her 16×80 TRAILER. They took advantage of her for sure! Had them installed and the South and West facing ones warp in the heat. You cannot shut once open. They are closing now because we are getting cooler. Andersen’s solution is to put handles on the bottom so they can be opened. Says "the windows just do that" So, they warp? Not impressed at all, these things were horrible to deal with all summer. For $1800.00 they should lift with one finger...Run from this company.

My mom had a doorwall installed by Renewal by Andersen. Their rep told me when she would be there and was really punctual. She was very professional. She came in, did the measurements, told me what to expect, then followed up constantly to make sure that the installation was satisfactory. She then followed up after the job was done. The installers were in and out very quickly. They made sure everything was covered and cleaned up when they were done. I like the doorwall and it's good value. I'd tell friends that Renewal by Andersen would be a good phone call to make.

Caveat emptor certainly applies to this company. I met with a sales rep (Brian) in early March about replacement windows. After we reached a deal I paid one half of the cost that day with the balance due upon completion of the work. Windows were installed in early to mid May but the installation crew could not finish the external trim work that day (did not have proper tools/equipment) and said another crew would have to do the exterior trim work at a later date. In a week or two another crew (different technicians) arrived at my house to do the exterior trim work. At this time I paid the balance due.
I had not originally ordered screens for all the windows but was told by the salesman (Brian) in March that there shouldn’t be any difference in price. This was my mistake as I was to discover from a customer service representative that each screen would cost an additional $100.00 since in the original contract I had not specified that I might want screens in the future. Repeated efforts to reach the salesman, Brian were unsuccessful.
In early July, I agreed to pay the additional $100 per screen ($500 total) and the customer representative (Staesha) stated it would have to be a credit card transaction as RBA would not accept a check for this procurement? Our credit card was charged $500 on 24 July but when I contacted the company on 15 August the screens had yet to be ordered. The present customer service rep, Myron, stated that the former service rep who took our order (Staesha) had been terminated. He was mildly apologetic and ordered the screens that day?
When the screens finally arrived in mid September, the technician Gary who delivered and was to install them said they didn’t fit and should be re-ordered. He was surprised that RBA had charged me an additional cost for the screens and said that for the additional expense I incurred I should expect the screens to fit properly. He measured each window and placed a new order.
On 15 October I received a call from the customer service rep Myron and he said the new screens had arrived and wanted to schedule an installation date. I requested that Gary install the screens since he had measured them and was familiar with the situation. I was informed that Gary had been terminated and that another technician would be delivering the screens.
Since my original installation date of the windows in early May, RBA had terminated two customer service reps and at least one technician (and I suspect the salesman who I dealt with in March is no longer with the company). I voiced my concerns and dissatisfaction with RBA company methods to Myron but felt like he was just reading from a prepared script and wasn’t really that concerned with me as a customer or my lack of satisfaction.
Consumers should think twice before using this company. For a company that claims a superior product and customer service, I have found this to not be the case. Their TV ads are very misleading and disingenuous. Consumers should take a look at their local contractors before dealing with this outfit. If I ever get my situation resolved, I will not deal with RBA in the future nor will I ever recommend RBA to neighbors or friends.
Dennis: I am sorry to hear about your experiences. Obviously we do not want our homeowners feeling this way. If you would be willing to send me your contact information, either via message or by emailing me at Megan at andersencorp dot com, I would be happy to make sure this gets to our regional manager here at corporate HQ and that we can look into your situation. Don't believe the sales pitch. The windows may be better than others, but air comes in at the bottom of my hanging windows where the sash meets the frame. And it took two installations, the second replacing all the windows to get where they are today. Three crews came to work on the replacement of all windows, one door, and putting a new window in a kitchen under renovation, which involved closing one up. The first crew installed the kitchen window but couldn't come back for the shingling so a second crew came, not knowing where the first crew left off and unprepared (they picked up nails on the way so were hours later than expected). They used one nail per shingle and didn't leave space between them so within a few weeks they'd buckled.
It was clear to the tech crew that reviewed the problem that the shingling needed to be redone. The third crew shingled the wall correctly, as well as other unfinished carpentry around the door. Because I could feel a breeze on my neck when sitting in front of the windows, they decided to add weatherstripping. This made the windows hard to open and close. More happened that I won't go into. It took writing the president of Renewal to get another tech crew out to assess the windows. They felt replacing the windows was the way to go, that new windows shouldn't need weatherstripping.
After the windows were replaced, some of the screens didn't fit and needed to be reordered. I waited to put them in the windows because when the light hits the screens at an angle, they're almost opaque. Invisible straight on, though. One window bounced shut and needed a part to be ordered and the lock on another needed to be adjusted.
In August, when the technician was installing the replacement screens (this time they fit), I noticed a hole in another screen. I bought the high-end insect screens because my old screens had a lot of holes and I thought the stainless steel would hold up. I also understood the screens to be under warranty for 10 years. A waste of money! I put the screens in the windows at the beginning of the summer and by August there's a hole? And today I was told it's out of the 90-day warranty. Really? A nightmare from start to finish other than the workers who seemed to be trying and the fact that they came back at least six times. No, I won't be paying Renewal by Andersen another penny for a new screen.
Emily, thank you for reaching out. I am sorry to hear about your frustrations. I would be happy to look into your case directly if you would like. You can email me at megan at andersencorp dot com or message me here. Thank you!

I interviewed a couple of other companies and they were a lot cheaper window-wise. Renewal by Andersen was a little pricey but we had them before in our other house and their product lasted really good. We like the quality and the way they were made and trimmed. Recently, we had all new windows put in. The salesman told us about the different windows, how they would trim them out and what window we should go with. The trim work and the oak around the windows look good and it didn’t take them very long to do the windows. One of the cranks wasn’t connected right on one of the crank-out windows but they came back and fixed it within a week.
Thanks for sharing your experience, Thomas. Glad to hear that we got the issue fixed promptly. Thanks for choosing Renewal by Andersen - we appreciate your business!

The timeline that they gave was right on the button. The installation process went clean as a whistle. The installation team got down to work and cleaned up after themselves. The windows are quality product and better than the other windows that we got. Renewal by Andersen did a very good job.

To all Renewal by Andersen customers – presents and potential customers: I would like to share my very disappointing and bitter experience I had with Renewal by Andersen company, located at 9825 FM 2920, Tomball TX 77375. All things were great until the moment when Renewal by Andersen was supposed to fulfill their great warranty promise of “20 years limited warranty for glass”. Many companies do promise great warranties for their products, but few abide by what they promise and demonstrate solid professional integrity and healthy business values and ethical norms. Fulfilling a promised warranty represents the turning point that sets apart good and reliable companies from the rest.
My unfortunate case was handled very poorly by Renewal by Andersen. Their products are expensive products and the promise to their clients is not only about high quality products, way above average, but also great warranty policy. Renewal by Andersen chose to put at stake their reputation over a +$1,500 window. My story occurred in May of 2018 and the entire story affected me so much emotionally that I decided to step away from it for a while so that I can assess the whole situation with professionalism not based on emotions. So here I am 5 months later ready to tell my story to help people decide on a window provider and avoid the ones like Renewal by Andersen. We are living in a world where media and social networking is widely spread so the word goes far and quick. There is good chance to reach out to many people via Facebook, companies’ websites, Nextdoor, Yelp, Google reviews, etc... So this is my story:
On the morning of Saturday May 5, 2018, around 10 am, the main picture window (70 inches x 70 inches) from my living room literally exploded. My husband was reading on the couch next to the window while I was doing errands. The sound was terrifying; at first it was difficult to comprehend what was going on, what was that sound and where was coming from. After a few moments, he could see the large window next to him starting to develop cracks, which were growing fast in a web like pattern from the top right corner of the window. The outside panel was slowly but surely cracking from the top right corner down.
I place the 1st call to Renewal by Andersen as soon as I got home around noon on the same day to report the problem. I wanted to emphasize the danger of the situation and the fact that no impact was heard; I have nothing in my backyard that could hit the window; just grass and a tree. Called 2nd time on Monday 5/7/2018 at 1:05 pm and was told that the person in charge with the case was, **, was gone for lunch, and I was advised to leave a phone message which I did. Called 3rd time, also on Monday 5/7/2018 at 4:32 pm to discuss the issue. I was very anxious about the hazard the window created on my porch since we did not want to touch anything so that the estimator could evaluate the situation properly; I was informed that they will send an estimator soon but no exact date was given.
An estimator came on Friday May 11, 2018; he spent about 10 minutes evaluating the situation, took notes and told my husband that he will recommend replacement. He was not interested in seeing any photos we had and took as evidence (showing the cracked window). I would like to emphasize that the estimator did not touch the glass and window, did not remove the broken shards that were still hanging dangerously from the window. The porch was covered with thousands of shards and glass fragments since we made no attempt to remove absolutely anything so that we were not accused of altering the evidence and the scene.
Between the time the window broke and the estimator came over the house, the window shattered in phases: phase 1 – developed a web like cracking system across the entire window (2-3 days); phase 2 – once the gas between the panels was out, a hole developed in the panel and little by little shattered fragments started to drop on the floor. The window is large (70”x70”) so it took about a few days for the glass to drop from the window. The entire situation represented a hazard with serious safety concerns; we refused to touch anything so that we do not alter the scene but also we were afraid to remove the glass due to safety concerns. Well, the estimator neither did attempt to safely remove the shards hanging from the window (as we expected) nor did he give us instructions on how to handle the situation in a safe manner. That was the big warning that the Renewal by Andersen does not take safety seriously.
Curiously, their “Care and Maintenance” manual includes a big warning note (page 4 in their manual) on how to handle glass (which I discovered only now while preparing this letter): “Wear safety glasses, goggles, or eye shields and gloves when handling glass. Tape broken glass with duct or filament tape before removal to reduce glass fragmentation. Failure to do so may result in injury”. I did mention my safety concerns to them over and over and neither I received any advice on how to handle this nor they came to take care of it. By not removing the broken glass from the window is in my opinion a critical failure in their safety protocol for their clients.
Called 4th time on Monday 5/14/2018 at 2:50 pm to inquire about the report the estimator generated; I was told that the report was not in yet; I was not able to talk to the person in charge with the case, ** and left a phone message. Called the 5th time on Friday 5/18/2018 at 7:48 am to inquire about the report; the report was still not in and left another message for ** which she persistently refused to call back. Called the 6th time on June/4/2018 at 11:18 am and left another message. So during a month they refused to even call back. Never mind cooperating. On June 4,2018, finally received a call back letting me know that the report was in but no resolution yet. Called the 7th time on 6/5/2018; no answer; left a phone message for **. Called the 8th time on Wednesday 6/6/2018 at 9:30 am and talked to a new person, **, that told me that the window is not covered because the glass was removed!!! I could not believe it!
So here I was being accused of removing the glass, so tampering with evidence, which was my first priority NOT to touch anything for a week so that we precisely were not going to be accused of what they were shamefully accusing us anyway. Never mind the fact that it was huge breach in their safety protocol letting clients handling broken glass. It was quite ironic to be accused of precisely what we have been trying hard to avoid. The window was exposed to gravity for a whole week so most of it did drop on the floor!
I requested to talk to a manager, **. On 6/6/2018 another manager called me, Mr. ** (not sure about the last name), and told him in detail everything happened. I am myself a professional and I just wanted to have a fair evaluation. He told me that they could not validate the reason for the damage. I requested a copy of the report and they refused to do so. I wonder why? Also, please note that They were never interested in seeing any photos we took!
And this is my story. I was extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism they demonstrated. I did everything in my power to cooperate and have a fair assessment. Perhaps the reason for the window to break was “an act of God” in which case a replacement is denied. But they showed no effort in understanding what really happened. Renewal by Andersen decided to dismiss any evidence (such as my photos), refused to cooperate and treated the whole story very poorly at the expense of their reputation. Thank you.
Thank you, lulia, for sharing your very detailed response. I will send this account and your information on to our customer care team here at the corporate offices.

I went with Renewal by Andersen because of the positive reviews and the expectation of a no hassle installation and great product. My husband has been very sick and I didn't want to deal with contractor or product problems. We spent over $8k for a slider and triple pane window only to have problems with leaks in the center stationary window. I am on a board at a condo complex and am well known in the community and am always being asked for recommendations, which I give as a unit owner not a board member. I will NOT recommend Renewal by Andersen to anyone and have advised others that are looking to hire them that they should just use regular Windows and a local contractor, saving the extra $s, since I guess there is really no difference in terms of the problems.

The sales representatives from Renewal by Andersen came to talk about their product and they did it in a way that appealed to me. They were good and they knew their product well. They have a very high quality product. We got two sliding doors, and then replaced all the windows in the house. We were happy with the sales process. The installation team did a good job. It was a big job because it wasn't just popping out the windows and popping them in. I had really old windows, so they had to cut out the frames, put in the new windows, and build new frames around them. But the people that they've sent to do that work have been very good. They solved the problem that they were there for. While they're there, if there's something else that you'd like to have them look at, they look at it. Renewal by Andersen has the best windows and they support their product really, really well. I'd recommend them.

The salesperson from Renewal by Andersen came in and showed me something amazing. The guy put a torch against the window sample and put it down for three minutes, and the other side was still not hot. I said, "Wow." I had some doubt at that point, but once they installed the window, it worked that way. I purchased the top of the line of the window product. The glass is special and it was a customized window. The installation process was amazing and they did a wonderful job. I was very surprised because one piece of my window is about 400 pounds and I had no idea they can do that, but the two guys did it perfectly. They also did a wonderful job cleaning up everything. It was a very clean install. They told me how long it was gonna take for them to build and they did it right on time.
The size of the window that I purchased was big and they overlooked something. When the wind was blowing real hard, the window banged a bit and meant it was not soundproof, and it was annoying. I called them back and they sent the technician back. He said that there was a problem and they needed to install some additional components into the window to make it soundproof. It took some time, but the guy came back and did a perfect install. They did a good job to fix that problem for me and I was happy.
The sales guy sent me the contract and I signed it and sent it back to them, but I wish they would come back to say, "Hey Calvin, how's everything doing," and do a personal follow-up. They did not. If I were the sales guy, I will follow up with my customer and, in that way, I will know if they happen to need some more windows. Renewal by Andersen is not cheap, but they are at the best price so far.
Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts with us, Calvin! I think that an in-person follow up from the sales rep is a great idea! This feedback will definitely be given to management. Thanks again for the feedback! We appreciate it!

I had Andersen windows and I was pleased with them. Recently, I got double-hung and slider windows from them. Their rep was knowledgeable and he explained the products. The price was also reasonable for what I got. Then the installation took three days and didn't take long. I really like the quality of the windows. They're very efficient and they've made a difference in both the heating and cooling of the house. I was satisfied with my experience and I would tell others that Renewal by Andersen is worth the money.

I got slider windows from Renewal By Andersen and the cost was a little bit more. However, the quality of the product, the professionalism and the way they went about the installation were the reasons for the additional cost over most normal products. When I chose Renewal by Andersen, it was because of the fact that their reps came to my door, they seemed very professional and answered all my questions. The salesman was very knowledgeable and the lead guy from the team of Russian installers checked with me often. He was courteous and asked me how I wanted various things. The other installer did the work in the middle of the snowstorm.
Thank you, J. We believe that the highest-quality experience, start to finish, is an invaluable part of the process, and are pleased to hear you were happy with all of your team's efforts!

I liked Renewal by Anderson’s product the best over that of other window retailers. Even though it was more expensive, I figured it would be better in the long run while I was living there and then it would be better for resale of the house later. I went online and got an appointment scheduled with the reps. They came to the house and went through their spiel. I purchased seven windows. Two of these have a thing that makes the window open to see through it and the rest are sliders. After that, I was in contact through email and via phone call with the main rep that they sent over until the windows were installed. He was knowledgeable and good. He was also there on the day of the installation and he followed up a couple of weeks after everything was done.
When the installers arrived, they walked around the house and made sure they had all the correct windows with them. They told me what they were gonna do and that they were gonna try to do the installation in one day but they might have to do it in two days. They worked with good speed and it took them six hours to install all the windows that I purchased. Also, they were very friendly and good people, and they were even gonna buy me some pizza, which was nice. I would absolutely recommend Renewal by Anderson and for sure that’s because of the installers.
The windows are amazing and they'ire great products. They are insulating well, not just air but also noise. The sound level from outside has drastically been reduced while I’m inside. I definitely went out on a financial limb to get these windows over others, but if I had more disposable income the cost would not have been any issue for me. For what they charged and what they gave me, I’m not regretting my decision to pay that money. I have been telling people that the windows are really good. There have been a couple of times when my neighbors were gawking at our windows and asking me about them. Whenever that happened, I told them about the price point and where I got the windows, and that they're worth the cost.
Thanks for the awesome review, Eric! We are glad that you are satisfied with your experience. And we really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience in so much detail! Thanks again!

Replaced picture window, specific request for dark wood color grids, came in natural wood. Called salesman said to pay 1/2 of bill & would get the 2 incorrect side windows replaced. The middle window was just glass & that was fine. Six weeks later they arrived as I was leaving, so I stayed. Just as they were about finished I saw they replaced the plain middle window with natural colored grids & 2 side windows with the dark grids. They replaced the middle window to how it was.
2 weeks ago I get a call from customer service requesting the final payment, told her the salesman said not to pay. Very curtly asked if I thought the salesman would pay for it himself. She would check further. Today, same woman (Christine) left a message payment was still due and courtesy call before being turned over for collection. Left her a message & said check would be in the mail & wouldn’t do further business with them. She called back and apologized, said called us many times & never received a call back; that’s why she said it. Told her had my e-mail & never received any other correspondence. Done with them. Window was very expensive.

Renewal by Andersen had a huge sale and we got a notice about that online. The rep was wonderful and very accommodating. He answered all our questions and he tried to get us as many deals as he possibly could. We purchased two front sliding doors from them. They told us that they couldn’t get us in for another month or so. Then the installers came and put both doors in. They came in the morning for the installation and they were still here when I got home from work, so it took all day.
The quality of the windows that we received was wonderful. But we had to call because within the first month or so, a few things went wrong. The screens fell off on one side and on the outside, the stripping along the top was falling off. We got a callback from them and we told them what happened. I also sent pictures to them. Then they came out within the next month or so to fix the problems and they hooked these up again, and that worked out. I would recommend Renewal by Andersen to people and tell them that we’re happy with the finished product that we have.
Thanks for sharing your experience, Roseann! Very pleased to hear that the crew came back out to your house and fixed the problem efficiently. Thanks again for sharing!

The salesman who claimed to be the Project Manager, failed to submit the proper work order for my bay window seat and it took 2 months to get the proper color window screens because the salesman FORGOT to order the correct ones. He also did not follow up to confirm the project was complete. It took several calls by me to speak to someone other than the inept salesman. After another month I had to call to see if the screens were in. They were, but no call from them. Very poor customer service. I got the big grand window that has the round top on it and the installation went great. The team put up the little tent and they let me take pictures of the inside of the rotting wood, which they fixed. They took care of everything and everything was good. We purchased a new home and these are the windows the builder chose to have installed. Everything with the windows seemed to be going just fine until we started to notice water on the inside window ledge during heavy rainstorms. We reached out to the builder who sent us to the manufacturer. Reached out to the manufacturer and sent them several pictures of the window. After several calls to try to have someone look at the window. After they received my last picture that showed the window had window film on it - just a simple window cling no adhesive was put on the window. I'm told this has voided the warranty. I guess curtains may have voided the warranty too. Ridiculous response from a well known established company. Buy windows somewhere else. Anything to get out of a service call.

I’ve always had a good experience with Andersen. I purchased a big patio slider and a dozen double-hungs, and the timeline I was given was very accurate. I got an older rep so he knew the business, as opposed to a young one that's just learning. I knew what I wanted, and he selected from the products available to match what I wanted. The quality is top-line and the installation went smooth as silk, though there was one issue that came up when the windows went in. It was cold outside and when it was time to put the screens in during spring, they were a little bit too big for the space. So, I called and they sent somebody out. They gave me a date of when they scheduled the replacement and they were prompt. Then they came in and did their thing. One of the reps I worked with was a very nice guy. Unfortunately this was a horror story from day one with delays poor workmanship lazy work crews and Andersen’s lack of quality control. It was finally made right with the second crew they sent out but the whole experience was such a hassle and time consuming effort that I cannot recommend this company even though we like the windows and believe they will last the twenty years. Andersen says they will. I only because Andersen does not manufacture its own windows. The double pane windows are ordered by Andersen from a subcontractor in Minnesota. You can order your own windows and hire a contractor to install them for half the price we paid to Andersen. So save some money and don’t put your hard earned dollars in Andersen’s pockets. They are a rip off!!!

I was in need of new windows in my home and decided to get an estimate from an individual from Andersen Renewal who was going door-to-door setting up times for someone to meet with homeowners. I told this person that I only wanted an estimate and will not be buying until I am through getting estimates from several other companies. He said this would be no problem and he set up a time for a salesman to come to my house. When the salesman came he made a lot of small talk trying to be like some long lost friend. I didn’t want to be rude but I just wanted an estimate so that I could get on with my day. The salesman began his pitch and went on and on as to why I should not buy vinyl windows. He must have talked for about an hour, and 85% of his sales pitch was talking about how bad vinyl was; the remaining time he talked about how great Andersen Renewal was.
I was beginning to get annoyed with the long sales pitch and asked if I could please just see one of the Andersen windows. The salesman said that he needed to get through his sales pitch first. Finally after another 15 minutes he put the case containing the window on the counter and opened it. (After all that time before he’d show me a window, I felt like there should’ve been a bright light and stars shining around some unusually stupendous casement when he finally showed it; however, it was just a window.) I then said, "Can you please let me know what these would cost." He took a quick look at a couple of my windows and said “we will definitely keep this under $50,000.”
I only have 13 double hung windows in my house so this comment was a big red flag. After much more talking, he said that it will be $20,000 but if I bought right then, it would be $19,000. I told him that as I said before, I am not buying today so I guess that means it would cost me $20,000. He pushed and pushed trying to get me to buy and said that I should at least replace the two bad ones that he looked at. I once again told him that I am not buying at this point and asked that he just give me his estimate in writing. He got upset and said that he would send an estimate in the mail. He never did send one, but it really didn’t matter because I wasn’t about to pay that kind of money. In my opinion Andersen Renewal is grossly overpriced as their product is not worth the money they are asking, and their sales pitch is absurd and long. I did end up getting vinyl windows at less than one third the quote they gave me and I’m very happy with them.

I replaced eight windows and the patio doors. They’re double-hung and insulated. They are very expensive but they are very lovely. I got them from Renewal by Andersen since they were the ones recommended by our building or condo association. The rep I talked to when I purchased them did a very good job of selling and at the time, I was in the mood to buy because everybody else was replacing their windows. During the installation, they said it would be done in one day and it was. But on the day that they first came out, it was about 20 degrees and the man who got there first had to leave. It’d be too cold if he were here, so I never saw the foreman till later. I had a call and he came back. So far, I hardly ever use my new windows. But the one on my bedroom is a little easier to open than the one I had before. And I open the patio doors about 50 times a day, so that is wonderful.
I am glad to hear you are enjoying them so far! Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything you need in the future!

Our original windows in the house were all from Renewal by Andersen. I saw an advertisement in the Sunday newspaper that they were having a special and I got a front picture window with the two sides cranked out. First of all, a gentleman had made an appointment to come with me to explain what they would do and how they would do it. Thereafter, the next gentleman that came measured the window. The day the two gentlemen came to put the window in, they constructed it right out in the driveway. It was quite interesting because they put up weighted poles in my living room. Then they had a huge sheet of heavy plastic and blocked off this area where they would be working so that dust and debris wouldn’t go on to the rest of my house. I was pleased with the quality of their work. The installation went very smoothly and they got the window in.
There was a misunderstanding, however, and it was on my part. They were asking what kind of wood I wanted the window would be made from. I had somebody come and the gentleman looked around my house and said, “Well, it looks like you have walnut. It’s a dark wood.” He asked me if I wanted walnut and I told him that that would be fine as I wanted the windows to match. But when the window was completed, there was no stain on it.
One of the window people said that the window was made out of walnut wood and that I had to stain it. So what I should have done was to have pine because it would have been a less expensive wood and still it would have stain. He said they had a gentleman that would come out and stain it for me but I said I could handle that. But as it turned out, I hired it done. Also, the gentleman that did the staining was a friend of my son, so I felt comfortable with him. That friend does a lot of windows and he said the window by Andersen was of really nice quality
My only bad experience was this window was put in on the 20th, and I came home on Christmas afternoon and I could see my curtain blowing. I went over there and there was a huge crack in one side window and it went all the way through, so I was losing heat out of that. I was a little worried if they were gonna be able to do the window and how much heat I was gonna lose when they took the original window out and put it in. So I found some cardboard and taped over it although I knew that wasn’t gonna work very long. Christmas was on a Monday, so I called on a Tuesday and they weren’t back from the holiday.
When I finally talked with them, the rep said they couldn't come until the 27th of January and that they don’t send people out unless there are two jobs in the same area. But it needed to be done as it was unacceptable. So my kids came over and they padded up the window better and put some weather stripping around it. Although I wasn’t really happy about that, that helped prevent the loss of heat. My son was looking from the side at the window and he said the reason why it cracked was because up at the top, it was very close to the back of the house or to the back of the window. The window came down at an angle so it was farther away at the bottom of the frame than it was at the top. My son said there was a lot of tension on that and probably with the cold weather, it just cracked.
I had to wait until January although the Andersen team came a week earlier. It was from December 25th to January 20th that they came back and a gentleman repaired the window. He said the new one will be straight. He added some shins in there to give it room to contract and expand a bit. He looked at the other side window which was straight but he said he was gonna put the shins in anyway to give it a little room to breathe and move. So, I was happy about that then. But overall, it was a $4,800 job even though it was all on sale. We had some flaws along the way but other than the big crack, I'm still very satisfied with Renewal by Andersen.

Hearing about Renewal by Andersen through good advertisement has helped when I chose them for a front door purchase. I also like their professional installation. They gave me a timeline for how long the door replacement would take and it really extended past that. It took a couple of weeks longer but I really didn't care that much on that. Still, communication about the readiness of the door could have been improved. If they were gonna be delayed, I wish I would have been informed of that.
I felt like the sales person wanted to get the sale and then after that, it was not as easy to get information. Despite that, once the installers came by, I was really happy. They did a very professional job, they were very nice and the door was installed really well. However, I would like to make a request. I have Andersen windows in my home and I have a sliding glass door. And I wanted to hire them to do more work but they could not do that. That for me was a disappointment because I would have really liked to pay somebody to install the sliding doors that I recently purchased.
I also have a couple of questions regarding the door that I purchased from Renewal by Andersen and the follow-up is not that great. I elected to paint the door myself and I wanted to know what material goes around the glass part of the door so I'd know what paint to purchase if it needs to be primed. I flat out disliked the color, so if that color cannot be painted over, I need to know what options I have to get that changed as it does not match my house. And again, the salesman didn't care.

The consultant from Renewal by Andersen came over and was able to explain to us very briefly the kind of product that we were going to get. We liked the way he explained it to us and that made us decide that it was the right product to get. We considered other brands, but we went with the quality of the materials that Renewal is using. That was one of the points that we were really considering, something that's reliable, and we were hoping that the company is also reliable that if I have a problem in the future, they will be able to service me and guarantee the product that they are using.
The time frame they provided to complete the installation was accurate. The people that installed the window and the patchy door were really professional and knew what they were doing. They laid out the coverings on the floor so that when they were done, everything was clean. They removed everything that they used and cleaned up the places where they were working. The quality of the replacement windows was good. It has a good sound barrier. I still stay in the place where they worked in because I have to do painting and the sound is not too much in the inside, so it was good and as if it was done the same windows that I had before. Renewal has a better name and quality. However, the guy that was gonna come out to do the measurements never showed up. Also, when I tried calling the customer service number, I never got a hold of anybody that day and kept getting the recording. I have a part-time job and I was calling them from work. I was getting very frustrated because no one was answering my calls and letting me know why the guy never showed up. Someone called me the next day and they scheduled someone to come out right away the following Tuesday.
When the man came out, he apologized. He said that they were in the process of replacing their software program and it never showed up on their schedule that they were supposed to come out. The guy who came out to do the measurements and the crew that they sent out to put in the window were fantastic. Within five hours, they were done with everything. They also cleaned up everything and took away. It was in the middle of December but the weather cooperated. It was a beautiful day that Saturday and everything worked out well. We're very satisfied. I also had my windows put in in the front door and back door or storm door and everything was great. There were two different times for the installation but each time, they took just one day for each contract. I did it when I had the money. I had the windows put in then the doors. A rep came, measured, and gave me a date. Then the others came in and they were great too. The two fellas were outstanding, courteous, and cleaned up. I had the same guys put in my windows as my doors, and everything went smoothly.
The quality of the windows and doors are top of the line. The only thing I had to call Andersen on was when the sliding door wasn't catching. I told their rep and the rep got a hold of someone. All it took was one little adjustment then it was no problem. I also had another little thing on the front porch. My caulking on the door around it was a different color. I called Andersen about that too and they came and remedied the whole thing. They put a whole new section in there it matched the caulking. Everything went great.

I didn't want vinyl anymore because I had it and I like the composite idea better than the fiberglass, and Renewal by Andersen is the only one that has it. The salesman was good. I wasn't high pressured by any means. I didn't feel like he tried and got me at the end by offering a little more of a discount if I have ordered right then. Also, he knew what he was talking about. I like that he had the samples there to look at and I'm sure they were the best of the best and were perfectly functioning.
I didn't like the pricing though. I didn't do enough research on exactly how much it would cost because they were such a wide range and I didn't know what I was gonna get. I had ballparks very close to the price that I was given but then, a thousand or two is what I thought it would cost but it wasn't. They said the price they gave me was their best price. I didn't like to negotiate. I signed on the dotted line and got the windows. As I started more and more research and as I'm looking now, I way overpaid for them even though the windows are of good quality.
I got 10 windows from Renewal by Andersen and they told me that it would take four to six weeks for the windows to be replaced. My wife was there during the installation and she has no complaints at all. She said it was easy. It only took one day for the installers to install the windows. Unfortunately, I just sold the house last week, but I would love to rip the windows out and take it because they're solid and much better than what I had in my new house wherein I immediately noticed the sound and the heat transfer, which was important to me because I've seen a lot of heat through the windows. I was very happy with the windows from Renewal by Andersen.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, J! We are pleased to hear that you enjoy the windows you received from us. I'm sure that the new homeowners would not have appreciated it if you took the new windows with you..however we can understand why you wanted to - HAHA! Thanks again for sharing!

It seemed like it was gonna be a quality installation with Renewal by Andersen and I had experience with their products in the past. We had a sales representative come out, make their pitch and we decided to go with the windows. Shortly after that, another gentleman came out and did the detailed estimate. Then, we had the three installers come out. Everybody seemed very professional and down-to-earth. There was no hard sale, and the installers were excellent. There were things in the house which were not necessarily level. The installers were able to level everything out and make it look like was even wrong inside or out. They did an excellent job.
We got the double hung windows and the windows don't lock partly open, which was one of the things that we were hoping for. We have looked at the windows a couple of times, and there was nothing there to lock them. It's what we believe the way we should have received it and maybe they didn’t get put on or missing something. I was gonna contact the sales person and find out about it, but I just haven't gotten around to it. It was not a huge deal, but in the summer time, that was inconvenient. The cost was reasonable and overall, the product was very good but for what I spent, I might have been able to get a better install from another company.

I walked by Renewal by Andersen’s booth at The Big E last year and I talked to them. The rep I worked with from Renewal by Andersen was polite and very knowledgeable. He spent close to two hours talking with me. I bought the double-hung windows and the installation was completed within the timeline provided. I felt so bad for the installers out as it was minus 7 degrees during the installation but they did what they were supposed to do very quickly. They were very professional and they did a great job. Since I live in a historic house, the window replacement had to be custom-made. From the outside, they look identical to the old windows that were on the house which is a big deal. I wish I could afford to do the other 30. The difference that these windows made this winter was huge and amazing.

We needed a Patio door and Renewal by Andersen has been around for a long time. Their reps were all great and knew what they were doing. Anything I needed to get done, they got it done. They completed the project within the timeline they gave us. It took six weeks for them to come out and the installation was great. The installers were fast and finished in three hours. Moreover, the work was good. We had gotten French doors that open like regular doors. Its quality is great. If something wasn't working properly, they came out within two days to fix it, which was good. I would recommend Andersen to anybody, over a lot of companies.
Thanks for the great review, Kenneth! We are pleased to hear that you had a great experience with our install team! Thanks for choosing Renewal by Andersen and helping to convince others to do the same!

I had 20 windows which slides left to right and some sliding doors done by Renewal by Andersen. It was the resale value of the name on the window that made us go with them. Their rep gave us a quote and told us everything that was gonna happen, which went pretty much as he said. I made a big deal in telling them that I needed it done right, and they sent who they said was their best guy out. He might’ve had one other guy with him one day. But for the most part, it was just him and he was great. Although the sliding glass door is questionable, the windows are great. If anybody could go with Renewal by Andersen, do it.

I had damage to the sills and a little bit of damage to the mullions. The weather sealing was failing too so I needed a full window replacement. However, the company that provided the old window went out of business and any repair parts were unavailable. We had a sales rep come out who impressed us the product. Then, we had a window guy come out to double check the measurements and got a double-hung from Renewal by Andersen. But we had a one-week slippage from the original schedule because it was downpour. And unfortunately, the day that the replacement was done was the coldest day of the year. It was below zero and with two guys working on this huge window open to the outside in my house, we were freezing. But things went smoothly. They did do the job within the time frame that they said it would take. However, I had to have them come back and fix a piece of siding that was not properly nailed in place.
Other than that, I like how the windows are easy to clean and that they open and close smoothly. And overall, I’m pretty well satisfied with Renewal by Andersen. The one drawback that was a major concern is the price. They are substantially more expensive than some of the competitors. But what sold me is the fact that I got a discounted price and the quality of the manufacturer. So for those who'd ask about Renewal by Andersen, I'd say wait for a sale and make sure to do it early in the season.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us, Don! Sorry that your windows had to be installed on the coldest day of the year. We hope that you are staying warm now because of the energy saving effect of the windows! We appreciate your feedback - so thanks again!

The reviews online for Renewal by Andersen were good and the products were exceptionally good so I got one picture window and three double-hung windows from them. We had a little bit of a snag at the start, but Renewal sent a slightly more talented team that came out and they handled everything very professionally. They were very conscientious about my concerns and their clean-up was superb. They were upfront about everything and quite prompt in getting it finished. So, it was a very good experience. Cost-wise, the windows were pricey but I’m pleased with the quality and it will help the resale value of my house when that time comes. Also, those windows are helping my heating and cooling bills. I shop carefully and Renewal was at the top level. That was the quality I expected to pay for. They are worth the price and I recommend them.

I looked at two different manufacturers, Renewal by Andersen and Pella. I liked that the Andersen windows were made of rigid Fibrex material and not to mention the 20-year transferable warranty. I replaced all of the windows in the second story of my home plus two of the windows downstairs. Andersen's rep was awesome too. He was very clear about everything and all seemed accurate. I appreciate the straightforward approach as that's very important to me. He had all the information on the windows. He brought specific demo windows with him, put on a good show and explained to me just how well his windows were. It was just that the windows were a little pricey.
Andersen was pretty accurate with the timeline and they even scheduled it between Christmas and New Year’s. The installers were very professional too. The one thing they kept thanking me for was the heater. I was surprised they didn’t have one with them. They would come down and sit in front of that heater and warm up for a while and then, they go back out not very cold and continue working.
I watched them briefly while they removed a window and the prep part and insulators around the windows. I wanted extra protection around those windows with the minimal expanding spray foam and silicone. They finished the job on schedule just like they said they would. I watched through every room and looked for obvious problems and debris. They left nothing behind and they cleaned up after themselves. It was as if they weren’t even on site and that to me was impressive. They did a very good job.
I opened all the windows up and closed them and everything seems to be working. There was one little issue that I have with one of the windows though. I noticed when everything was cool down that there was a little bit of moisture on the inside corner of a window. Other than that, I’m very happy with the windows. They tend to keep the heat in and the cold out during the winter and vice versa during the summer. The bedrooms are also much more comfortable now the windows have been replaced.

Haha. Older guy lifts up a huge black suitcase on my new couch. At first I was shocked, I wouldn't do that but didn't say anything. After we were talked into 2 windows were almost 6 grand and I signed the contract I looked at my couch and 3 black tar spots and gray dirt dust all over it where he and the trainee were sitting. I flipped out. Had to steam clean it.
Such professionalism too that the contract misspelled my first and last name and on my husband last name. Really? Downloaded and printed my cancellation form and you have to fax to cancel. You cannot call. The fax number is wrong. Probably a ploy so you cannot cancel and be stuck to pay it all. Called 4 times different phone numbers. No one really in charge! Went to lawyer on this! Called and left 4 message that I refaxed to someone else since number on contract is wrong. Never and wouldn't call us back to confirm the cancellation. Lol. She called and had an awful time reaching anyone in person. When she left messages, no one called her back. I tried, and had the same experience, I had to make multiple calls, all over the place, and lots of emails, just to get their "customer care specialist" to call the customer. They have multiple departments don't coordinate well between them. They completely failed to provide customer service. Their product is overpriced, but I hoped they would provide competent service to compensate for the high price. As the customer's adult daughter, I have had to work very hard to get this company to communicate with their customer. They have been a great disappointment. Don't go with Renewal by Andersen.

Just... No." The guy called me a "**" then turned and walked away. I told him that was unacceptable and who exactly was he with because I was calling his boss. He wouldn't tell me and actually then ran away from my house. He left a note on the neighbor's door and I recognized the handout and name so I knew it was him. Calling Andersen tomorrow. Andersen was a little bit more expensive than other brands but we chose to go with them for its durability. It also seemed that the quality of the product, overall, was better than the competition. The salesperson was very knowledgeable too. It was not high pressure and he talked with us, not at us. We recommended him to close friends of ours and they ended up buying windows for their home through Andersen as well. That was how much we liked him in terms of how he was interacting with us. It was a good experience.
The installation was fine too. Andersen said it may take two days to do but they were able to get it done in a day. The guys were very courteous in terms of not getting anything dirty and laying things down. They were informative. If something was not right, they fixed it. However, there were a couple of times after they were done that a couple of pieces of vinyl or aluminum was left in the grass that we had to pick up. Other than that, we were very satisfied.
We've had vinyl windows before and this was more of an upscale look for the house and better for resell value as well. We had them done on our second floor and then the kitchen. Majority of the windows were double-hung and there were mono-paned windows as well that had no slider and then a pull-out window in our kitchen. If you take a look at the second floor alone, it is much cooler than it was in the summertime with the old windows. In the winter time, I noticed a huge difference in terms of warmth. They're performing very well and they're good quality windows. I got what I paid for.
Thanks for sharing, James! Other than the pieces of scraps that were left in your lawn, we are happy you had a positive experience! On behalf of the install team, I am sorry that scraps were left in your yard - definitely unacceptable. Thanks for being understanding! We hope you are still enjoying your new windows!

I purchased four 3 ft x 4 ft double hung windows without grills and one 6 ft x 6 ft picture window with safety glass (no grill). The initial verbal quote was approximately $8,700. After the final measurements were made, I was told that the extra stucco work to the exterior would be an additional $600 bringing to total contracted cost up to approximately $9,300. I put a $1,000. deposit on my credit card and signed the agreement.
Imagine my surprise when I later found out that a change order was put through after the fact for an additional $1,600! I did not sign the change order. In fact, the accounting department admitted that it wasn't my signature on the change order which was generated several weeks after the contract was signed and almost a month before the installation date. I tried resolving the dispute with the local Renewal by Andersen office to no avail. I tried going through the financial company that financed the transaction on behalf of Renewal by Andersen, also without success.
The bottom line is that I was told it was not the financial institution's responsibility to verify authenticity of signatures on change orders and I should file a police report. The financial institution just added it to my credit line. In addition, Renewal by Andersen failed to pull the required building permit. My contract said it wasn't needed. I was fined $250 by the City for not having a permit.
After I obtained the building permit, I scheduled an inspection. It was a good thing I did. I didn't think the lathing had been done properly around the picture window and the inspector confirmed that it had to be redone. If the inspector hadn't stopped the work for lack of permit I never would have known. Also, I have never received the final paperwork and warranty information. Found out that by getting the permit myself, I became the "General Contractor" and was now responsible for the quality of the work and any injuries that may have been suffered by the workers.
The widow quality is great but check out the local office thoroughly before buying. My contract showed that the stucco was included in the $9,300. Insist that you get an itemized quote with all charges and not a lump sum total. The contract included a schedule of payments totaling $9,300 including installation and stucco work. Have never been able to get a breakdown of what the extra $1,600 was for. Only an offer to install another window at no additional charge. I don't need another window.
Joan: I am sorry to hear about your experience and your frustrations, and want to look into this for you. Would you be so kind as to either message or email me (megan at andersencorp dot com) with your contact information (including ZIP), and I will investigate directly. Thank you!

I’ve done some research and the customer satisfaction for Renewal by Andersen was high. They have a good reputation and the product itself was a very good quality. I've had a good interaction with their reps and our salesperson was very thorough. He gave us a lot of options. We purchased a door wall from them and it's like a sliding door. It was a positive experience. We’ve had a lot of different contractors in our house before and these guys from Renewal by Andersen were great. Their work was top-notch and they completed the job within the timeline that they gave. They also cleaned up after themselves and were very efficient. It was the best experience we’ve had somebody working in the house.
I feel good about their cost. The whole thing was on the pricier side of options in general. If we went over to Lowe’s and got something ourselves, we could’ve spent a lot less, but for what we got from Andersen, it was a good value. I would recommend them to people who have it in their budget. Also, if people have a job that they want to be done and done right, and they don’t wanna have to worry about it, I will tell them about Renewal by Andersen as well.

We have Marvin’s in all the other windows. We had chosen Marvin over Renewal by Andersen because we have a sliding window. And we liked the Marvin better when we put those in. Renewal by Andersen was updating their windows at that time. So, we've replaced all the other windows and we’ve been doing things in bits and pieces. This is the last bit we had and I bought a built-in Marvin and Renewal by Andersen. I preferred the Renewal by Andersen window now that we did their sliding window and I went with them because their price was better too.
Their reps were all professional and they did a great job. We were given a timeIine and I was shocked because they did it on January 2nd. It was right after the holidays and we had gotten a foot of snow, yet they still came out. The quality of the windows was as good or even better than the Marvin that I put in. I used to be in real estate and I have a degree in architecture. I’m building materials-savvy, too and I wanted something that was name-brand, so I went with Renewal by Andersen. Their windows are expensive and rather than going with a cheaper rate to hurry up and get windows put in, we took them by project. We did the front first, and then the different sections little by little. I’m really pleased that we decided to go that route. We also had a very good relationship with their two sales reps. Each person we dealt with has their different styles and they were understanding and helpful. Also, the timeline they gave me was okay because I had taken time to come up with the money in dealing with the new payment.
In addition, the installation went pretty well. We did the windows in the front of the house on the first floor and the window above the entry door because it’s a two-story foyer. The last thing we put was a sunroom on which has 12 windows. When we add the cost up, it would’ve been about $50,000 or more, but I am extremely pleased with my windows. They are tight and well-constructed. We’ve gotten some solicitations from Pella Windows because they have a brand that’s similar to Renewal by Andersen, but then I’ve been so pleased with Renewal by Andersen that I didn’t wanna switch. We simply gotta lay out one or two more sections to do and then we’ll be complete.
Thanks for the great review, Don! So great to hear that we have the loyal support of someone who is well versed in the industry! Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!

My father owns a sliding door by Renewal by Andersen. It's one of the best and smoothest sliding doors I've ever seen. I got three quotes and Andersen's price was the most reasonable and the lowest. I bought two sliders from them. They gave me an accurate timeline and how long the installation would take was accurate, too.
The rep from Renewal by Andersen was very helpful, thorough and I liked his presentation. He drove from the east side of town and stayed for a very long time. I got the email on the price and I paid for the sliders. I was under the understanding that he would be here during the installation, but I never heard from him ever again. There was no follow up and I really wish he was here because I had some issues with the installation.
The installers were fabulous and very professional, but the installation was one of the coldest days of the year. I called a day or two in advance to cancel and change the installation because I didn’t want them installed in that cold of weather and I was given a hard time by the installation appointment. They said the installers were already on their way. I was upset that they were installing my sliders and very worried about the installation in that type of weather.
After the installers started, I told them my concern and they said they tried to cancel too, but the installation scheduling wouldn’t let them cancel. Had they known that I wanted to cancel, they would have definitely been able to do it. They also said they had several cancellations that day because of the cold and the customers were calling, but yet, I was not able to cancel. The installers were probably going numb during their installation and also, I needed to pay to heat my house while the two sliders were being installed, so I'm not happy with all of that.
Also, had the salesman been here, maybe he could have solved the problem or even called us. He was really good at selling the product, but I didn't get customer support from him. Other than that, the sliders were installed within a month which was reasonable and accurate, based on the timeline they gave me. The product is beautiful and I love it. I'm happy with my experience and I would really recommend Renewal by Andersen to others.

They answered my questions and explained things to me. Also, they did the work according to the timeline that they gave me. However, when I call them, I go through too many different numbers and they tell me to call this and that. Still, the crew worked fast. It was winter time and I told one of my friends that they were coming. That friend asked, "At this time and when it's so cold?" I said the same thing as well. But when they came and they did the work, it wasn't a problem at all. I was downstairs cooking and they were upstairs putting on windows.
The installation went fine but I wasn't used to having the kind of windows that they installed. So I had to call one day and let them know that I couldn't get the window opened because I forgot. Nevertheless, someone came and fixed it. Some time thereafter, I had another experience with one of the screens. I must have pushed the wrong thing and the screen was about to fall off outside so, I had to ask someone to catch it. I called Renewal by Andersen and let them know that the screen came off and I couldn't get it in. The lady rep sent me a video of how to do it. However, my husband couldn't get to it. So I told him to leave the screen there instead of breaking it more. It was sitting for a while until last week when my son came and then I told him about it. He put it right there and then.

Renewal by Andersen did a previous install for my house and I like the reputation of the brand. Most recently, I got a bay window and a three-panel window from them. When I bought the house, we started replacing windows and this was the last we had to do. Andersen's rep understood his products well. He knew the differences between all the options and he was able to explain them. The cost was significantly higher than if I had gone to a regular retail place but I knew that they were gonna do a good job, plus they offered 0% financing. So, it was a trade-off. Also, I was gonna have a good product and a warranty from the manufacturer.
The installation timeline was spot on but it was the worst day of the year to do it. It was the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day and the wind chill was about negative 20 but the installers draped the area with plastic inside and out and were able to do it. We had an issue with the windows themselves though and it took Andersen about four months to come out and fix it. Part of that was scheduling conflicts. They also didn’t offer a call the day before to remind me of the appointment. I had written the appointment down for Tuesday and the guy called me on Monday saying that they were here. So, I left work to let them in. They were able to fix the issue, and I would definitely recommend Renewal by Andersen.

There's a lot less heat that comes through and a lot less energy escapes through them. Also, their rep was really nice and he knew his stuff. It was just me and my kids here when he came up. He did the whole demo while the kids were with us and did a good job interacting with them. Both of my kids were under three and he was showing them too and he let them play with his tools.
Also, Renewal by Andersen gave us a timeline of how long the replacement would take. It was quick and all that they had to do was wait for the stock to come in. We were really impressed by their speed. Additionally, the installation team was super friendly and they answered any questions I had. We would definitely recommend Renewal by Andersen. They have very high-quality windows. It's affordable and the people are friendly.

I purchased the windows with the composite from Renewal by Andersen and had good interactions with their rep. He communicated well and he knew the product. Also, the pricing he gave was reasonable. The installers arrived here in the morning. They set out the material and laid down the cloth. They covered everything so nothing would get dusty or dirty, other than some of the windows. They were on time with installing the windows and it was done as quickly as possible. All in all, the installation took about six to eight hours. They cleaned up everything afterward and vacuumed, so everything was put right back in place. I'm satisfied with the quality of the work and of the windows.
Everything is all in one. I didn’t have to go and hire anybody else to do any window treatments. I got everything done with the window treatment, the wood, the installation, and the painting that came afterward. I've searched other windows as well and for the quality of the windows I got, the cost was fair and in line with the other window companies. Also, at cheaper-grade windows, the ones I got were of better quality. Renewal by Andersen has very good window quality and their service was excellent.

The rep from Renewal by Andersen came to the house and they had a good product, so I went with them and purchased a sliding glass door. I knew exactly what I wanted and signed the contract, and we set a date. Somebody came out and measured the area, and the order was placed. Then they delivered the door and installed it on time. The product was pricey but it was great and well worth the amount of money that I spent.

We purchased double-hung windows from Renewal by Andersen and some casements too. Their reps cleaned up after themselves really well and did a good job and it wasn’t a huge issue with them just traipsing all through the house. They ripped out all the old windows and carried in all the new ones and clocked it all up. Plus, they did it in the time that they said they would. The new windows look nice, they work really well and they're a lot better than our old ones. We used to have a lot of condensation and these don’t. Ordered replacement windows with a price and schedule. Windows mismeasured requiring remanufacture. Second time mullions improperly located requiring another reorder. Last 3 windows again mid manufactured requiring another wait and reorder. Each time installation crews came out, they did not have all material required or all manpower required to complete the job, necessitating more waiting and rescheduling. So far, the job is 7 months behind its original schedule and not yet complete. Renewal by ANDERSON Orlando did not do anything to overcome the extraordinary impacts they kept putting on us from our home being de-constructed for so long and requiring countless adjustments to accommodate their material and manpower limitations.

I already had Renewal by Andersen windows on the house and I needed a door in the kitchen area. I got a swinging door and a three-panel glass area there but a swinging door is on one end of it, so it had to be custom. The sales rep explained the product well and he had an Air Force background which was impressive. The installers were very timely and the installation itself went very quickly. We're in an area where it gets cold in the middle of winter and they were opening the wall on the back of the house, so it would’ve been unpleasant to have that open for eight hours. The installers had the old one out and the new one in and they’ve taken just half an hour. Then they spent the rest of the day trimming and putting it. They did a good job and I would recommend them.

I’ve had Renewal by Andersen before as my retailer and I've known the quality of their products, so I chose them again when I bought the door for my house. I've had the door for six months, but within a month after they installed it, the lock was bent and didn't work. Renewal told me to buy a replacement key and I did, but this key didn’t work too. It took them almost six months to get the door to lock. That was disappointing because I really liked the product but they had a lousy follow-through.
They couldn't schedule me for a service call for a month and they wouldn't put me on priority. When they finally scheduled me, I took a day off from work and stayed home to be there, but they came with the wrong parts. Then they had to reschedule me another month out and it was nice that they brought the right parts this time. But the two days of work to fix the door lock, plus the day that I had the door installed, were not exactly customer service, even though they got the issue taken care of and I’m very happy that the lock has been working for two days now.
The reps were fine as long as people didn’t mind having to wait a month for them to schedule a service call to fix a problem. Also, the sales guy that came out was fabulous. I almost bought a whole set of windows from him as well because he did a terrific job of explaining the products and their advantages, but now I’m way glad I didn’t because that could have been another problem. I wouldn’t advise anybody to go with Renewal.

We have Andersen Windows and when we needed replacements, we looked up who installed our windows and went with Renewal by Andersen. We replaced 12 windows and they did it all in one day. The windows are great and wonderful. Renewal by Andersen's reps were very professional, friendly, upfront, and provided a lot of details. But they took all the blinds down and the guy who came out couldn’t figure out how to put them back up. So, they told me to get someone for that and that they would reimburse me. I’ve been trying to call Michelle, their rep, and leaving her messages on how I can get reimbursed. But it's been a couple days and I haven’t heard from her. Other than that, I would recommend them. The product and the people that I worked with were great.

Renewal by Andersen put in a slider for me and that was great. The next time, they came to give us a price on a bay window, but it was too expensive for us at that time. When we went to Home Depot, we saw the Andersen doors but we weren’t sure if these were winterized where we live in New Hampshire. So, we called Renewal and the rep that came by was phenomenal and explained everything up to the core of how the door was built.
We ordered the door and two people came to install it. They were very experienced and professional, and they knew what they were doing. It was freezing outside and it took them a couple of hours to do the installation, but they did a phenomenal job considering the elements outside. Then they showed me all the ins-and-outs, including how to do the locks. They even showed me how to take the door apart to paint it because we got the wood inside instead of the vinyl. The door went up and it was almost like a suction when they closed it so that it was all sealed and I wasn’t losing any heat. All in all, we had a great experience with them. A guy down the street got Renewal and he was saying that it was from us that he saw them.

I liked the product that Renewal by Andersen offered and they gave me the opportunity to get financing for my windows. The initial representative showed up and she did a preliminary survey of the windows that were needed. She discussed the product line that they offered, and we discussed the contract and financing. Once that was done, it took a few weeks for them to come out with an outside installer representative who did the final measurements, and a few weeks after they came in to install the windows. The installation crew took care of the whole job in one afternoon. They did a phenomenal job and were very clean, professional and efficient. I had the opportunity to keep an eye on them as they were installing the windows and I was happy with the quality of work they provided.
The whole process took about two months and I expected that because of the time of year it was, and also, the windows I had from them were all special ordered as they were all customed to my house. We ordered 18 windows and we would’ve had another one, but they didn’t offer egress windows, so we decided to go with a different company for that. Nevertheless, I’m generally happy with the windows from Renewal by Andersen and I already recommended them for another job.

When I took a home improvement course at a local vocational school, both guys that were doing it, one was a plumber and the other one was a carpenter, recommended Andersen windows. One of the guys that I talked to said that he put Andersen windows in for 20 years and he never had to replace one. He isn't somebody who worked for Andersen but somebody that buys them and installs them as part of his business, and that was a big selling point for me.
The sales rep that I worked with from Renewal by Andersen was informative. He told me exactly what was gonna happen and gave me a really good price. They were having a special and he searched and got me an even better special. I got a bay window from them and got all my downstairs windows done. He told me that the window replacement would be a one-day job and it was. I'm very happy with them. The installation crew did eight windows and they were finished in six hours. They also had to replace the sills on a couple of them. These guys were in and out, and when they left, there was not a speck of dirt on the ground.
The windows that I had in here before were old and there was just a breeze coming through the house. I live in Massachusetts and in winter or summer, the heating and cooling cost was just going to the roof. But it was a very good investment. When the installers pulled the old windows out, there was no insulation in here. They told me how they were gonna re-insulate them, and it was all part of the price. They took out the old insulation, put in a new one and sealed them up. They told me not to open or close them for 24 hours and to wait for everything to settle in. The guy gave me his own cell phone number and said that I can call him if there were any problems at all.
The windows work like a charm. Money-wise, the deal was fantastic especially since I got the zero interest for 12 months, and it was a big deciding factor saving all the interest money. I make a payment every single month and I'm almost paid up. Renewal by Andersen was on path with some of the other high-profile windows and the zero interest thing pushed me over. And so that was the way I wanted to go. If a family member is looking into services from Renewal by Andersen, I will tell them that they can't beat its price and quality.

This is a followup to an earlier review of the design consultant/sales associate, JC **, whose performance was exemplary and who I gave a 5-star rating. The new doors and their installation were top notch, as was the efficient demolition and removal of the old doors and refuse from the job site. The only complaint I had was an apparent breakdown in communication between the job schedulers and the workman. Although I provided explicit instructions regarding security protocol at the residential complex at which the installation was performed, specifically, never leaving the security gate open or unlocked while unattended, the information was either not communicated to the workman or simply ignored.
Particularly troubling was the fact that they twice tied the gate open after vigilant residents of the complex had closed it. To the company's credit, they offered to reimburse me in full for potential monetary penalties levied by my condo association for the violation. Fortunately for both parties, that proved unnecessary as the association, though clearly stating that I am ultimately responsible for the actions or inaction of contractors that I hire, graciously decided to waive the penalty by virtue of the fact that this was my first offense. Were it not for this unfortunate event, I would have given the installation crew a 5-star performance rating.
Thanks for sharing this experience, Michael! Sorry you about this experience with the gate but we are relieved to hear that it got resolved at no charge to you. Thanks again for sharing! Enjoy your new doors!

We had Renewal by Andersen install our front picture window. My old one was shot. I've put in windows myself before but this one was a big job for one guy to do and I couldn’t expect my wife to help me with that. I knew Renewal by Andersen's name and that they do good work. Then there was a cross factor, so we did financing. Andersen was also quick. Once I did the order, we had the window installed in three and a half weeks. I looked into Feldo but I didn't feel like waiting for them since they have a long timeframe.
The installation went well and the clean-up was good. I was given a three-hour timeframe for the installation and they were able to do that within that timeframe. One guy didn't speak good English and another didn't speak English at all but they weren't overbearing and they did their job. Andersen's customer service has also been fine. We're satisfied with the window. We're happy it was done and it's a lot better. Still, Renewal by Andersen might wanna lower their prices to be a little more competitive. I looked at how much the windows would cost if I bought it myself from Menards or Home Depot and theirs was pricier. Also, you have to pay for the labor.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, Edward! We are so pleased that you ended up choosing Renewal by Andersen! Enjoy your new picture window! Thanks again!

I wanted quality windows and Renewal by Andersen's reps were easy to work with, so I went with them. I knew that the expense was greater, which is a bit of a challenge in life today, but I like working with GreenSky to pay the windows off and with no interest because I plan on paying it off within two years. That’s working really well for me. I also had a great interaction with the rep I worked with. He was very personable and I went over everything with him. He came up from the eastern part of the state and we had a good meeting. I requested that they not do the windows right away because I was away, and I had them done at a time when I wanted the installation done.
The installers were efficient, did a good job, and cleaned up well. I had six windows put in and they fit in very perfectly. They were done in a day and afterwards, the guy that did the installation went around with me and showed me how to tip and remove the windows, for when I need to remove the screens. I have not washed them yet and I’ve got to try to remember exactly how to do some of that stuff, but they will come back.
So far, I love the windows. But I didn’t remember that I have the crossbars on them. I have six-over-six windows and I left the inside to be painted myself, not realizing that those crossbars didn’t pop out like my old windows. The six windows are natural wood and they don’t fit in with the house and I’ve gotta stain them all myself. So, it’s gonna be a challenge that I’ve not wanted to handle yet. But other than that, everybody at Renewal by Andersen was very thorough with me, considerate, and walked me through the process.

We heard a lot of good things about Renewal by Andersen so we purchased some windows and sliding deck doors from them. Their rep was very professional and he did not pressure us so we were very pleased with him. The time frame worked out fine. We had the windows done in February so we weren’t opening too many windows. But now with this time of weather, I’m noticing that some of the windows, when I push them up, slide half-way back down. I don’t know what the cause of that is.
We got ahold of the finance company, GreenSky and they were not very easy to work with. We were able to get some money that we were gonna offer to pay it off if they could negotiate a little bit but they were not willing to in any way, shape or form. We’ll have to wait for two years and pay one day before the due. So we were surprised. We thought that they would be willing to get paid now instead of having to wait. Also there were other places in the area that offered much less expensive whole house things. But the quality of the products we got from Andersen are fantastic, except that we already had a squirrel chew through the screen of our deck door. I would go with Andersen again.

We wanted to make an investment in the house so we chose Renewal by Andersen. They have different quality product than what’s out there. We were coming from very terrible windows so we wanted a big improvement. The salesman was very informative, calm and patient. We felt very comfortable and confident that it was the right product for us. A lot of it had to do with his delivery. It didn’t feel like a hard sell pitch. Clearly he was very passionate about the product and gave us great facts about it and gave us time to think it through, which was really helpful, and we didn’t feel that way at all with the other products. Aside from how the windows looked, the efficiency and the craftsmanship of the windows were important to us.
The installation was amazing. I walked around with my mouth agape the whole day. They came here promptly and they were fast but I could tell they were doing it well. I still can't believe they could do that. When I asked questions, they were very quick to answer them and take the time to do that. They were very respectful of the house and of us being there. It was important to us as it didn’t feel like they were invading the house.
After the installation, I noticed a significant difference in the heating and cooling of the house. We have a split-level home so we could never get the top floor cool enough in the summer and warm enough in the winter. And now it's much more even across the house and we haven’t even changed anything that has to do with the heating and cooling. Also from a sound perspective, we can still hear birds chirping in the morning but we’re not woken up by sirens, alarms, traffic, etc. My son sleeps better through the night.

I ordered double-hung windows and they installed them during the fall season and it was cold so I never bothered to pull them down. When summer came, I went to pull the windows down and I couldn’t because there was nothing in it to reach out to pull down on. So, I called them and I told them I would not order double-hung windows if I can’t pull them down. I would have to stick my fingers down in between the two windows to open the upper and I was not gonna do that. She said they didn’t have anything but she understood my frustration. She said there was a thing they could put on there but it might break the window. She asked me if I wanted to try a couple and I said yes.
Barry came and put on all nine of them. We ordered the weather windows too and he scheduled everything all at once and did them all yesterday. He had no problem and he said that if it's measured properly, there wouldn't be any trouble. He has been doing it for years and was very good. He was so quiet and went about his work. I was very glad he did all of it in no time at all. But some of the windows are not as tight as they should be. I told him several times we were not interested in replacing them and we are aware as another rep knocked on our door. Needless to say he was very rude and questioned several times what we thought was so important in our lives that we wouldn’t fix our windows. We needed to replace one of the window elements which was three panels and we replaced that with a slight bay window effect. The windows within the home came from Andersen Windows, which were original to the house when we got it, so it made the most sense to go with them. The initial representative dropped by to demonstrate everything and he did a nice job. The project turned out well, but because the scheduling happened around Christmas, I had to do a slight amount of juggling and holding off with decorating. If it was any other time during the year, the installers would have been in and out, and that would have been phenomenal.
Also, my initial timeslot was for a day where it was gonna turn up to be rainy and nasty. I was a little concerned about having things installed and the trouble was everyone was having holiday parties. I was trying to get a hold of representatives to try to reschedule and I was a bit frantic at that point, but I managed to get a hold of people in time and rescheduled for a week later. The installers were professional and they did a great job putting up with the weather. It was fairly cold and windy that day, so they made sure to at least temporarily get all the windows in place. I had a roaring fire going to keep them warm.
The installers managed to come here around 7:30 in the morning and by 9:30 that night, all the windows were installed, caulked, and sealed. It was one of the coldest days of the year at that point. Overall, the whole process was good. I could've gone and had things done for less, but it was a quality install, and I've got a guarantee behind these for a while. It's been a reassurance and so far, I'm very pleased. I appreciate all the various coatings on the windows because no one can see in all that well, so there's a nice sense of privacy during the day. It's also keeping the heat out and the heat in.

But we had them come back to repair a latch on a first-floor window right on the front porch. The guy got it to lock but said don’t use it and they were gonna replace it, but has not been back. And that’s been over six weeks now. Also, they were more expensive than we anticipated, but they were fine to deal with and I'd recommend them.

Renewal by Andersen products were a little bit better than what I was getting. I had a sliding door replaced by them and recently, I needed seven double-hung windows installed. Their rep explained everything and he came out to measure. Renewal by Andersen said that the installation would take a day and they were able to do it in one day. But initially, when they called and asked when I wanted them, they weren't gonna do it that day because it was cold. Their installers kept it nice and clean. There were a couple of things that got trampled down and broke but it was not a big deal. My interaction with Andersen is really good. In fact, I called them again because I needed another 12 windows changed down. I'm waiting to get the money together so they can come out again. I also already recommended them to my two neighbors.
Thanks for the great review, Louis! We are so happy that you are happy with the product and service you received from Renewal by Andersen! We are excited to work with you again in the future! Thanks again!

I moved into a home in Massachusetts that was built by a contractor with heavy and really ugly crank out windows. As soon as I walked in I said, “The windows have got to go.” They were so old that all the hand cranks were falling apart. Then we found Andersen was advertising something right about the time I was starting to think about replacing the windows. I ended up calling them and I called a couple of others. Like when my husband replaced windows, he would put the name itself, other replacement windows, and I discovered in the process that they're no longer being made. They were great windows and that’s what I was looking for.
Then, somebody from Andersen came over and took a look at the windows. I was told that the windows that are in my house are Andersen windows. Then he showed me the little marking in the back. He could tell me how old they were and they were even older than I thought they were. I went ahead and got a price, picking around and the first price they gave me, I almost can't get out of the chair. He was giving me the top of the line. I said that it was not going to happen and I could not afford that much.
We ended up meeting somewhere in the middle and had the windows put in. They are double hung windows. Everybody that has walked into the house the first time said, “These windows are beautiful.” The windows are huge. I bought the house with my daughter and she has the colonial side of the house and her windows are 12/12. I wanted windows that were going to match hers so the whole house would blend in together. The windows are so big, it is like my living room is almost enclosed in glass. It is beautiful. I keep looking at the things and I was told to put a curtain on them. I'm like, " Why would I want to cover these windows?” I can look out at the nice woods and see the deer walking through my yard.
I was married to a contractor before and so I told the installer that I'm not a good person to work for because I know what they are doing. But he was fantastic. I said he had to cart one window and there was one window in the kitchen where they had to fill in molding which I ended up having to paint myself, but that was not a big deal. But it did not match up the window sills and he took a look at it and he ended up building with some of the primer wood he had. He had to put a sealant for me. I had to paint it, but it was awesome. I was also watching him cracking the window and I said, “You know, I gotta tell you, I have never seen anybody lay crack like you.”
A slider was put in the window in the kitchen. I had a crank out on there too and it was kind of a hard match to fill in. The installer was not supposed to put an edging around it to fill out the gap, but he did it without any help. He asked me, “What do you want me to do?” And I said, “I'm gonna have to put some molding in there.” He just shrugged it off and he said, “No problem.” He went in and put me a nice little window sill underneath it. That really was not part of the job, but he did it in half an hour. He was unbelievable and he did great work.
I highly recommend the subcontractor. He was an older guy, but he did great work. He was here a couple of days. One day he had to leave because he had a doctor’s appointment but it was not a problem. He made sure upfront that it was going to be okay. He actually came before Andersen said they were going to come. I was very happy with the whole thing. Also, I was glad to see my old, awful windows go.
One of my neighbors, every time I look, he’s doing something in his yard or he’s having somebody do something and he didn’t talk to me. But he came over to my daughter and he said that my windows are beautiful and it really makes the house looks so different. He really loves them and I'm very happy with it, too. I was initially worried about the expense and I know I was going to have to pay up a lot of costs, but they were worth every penny.
Thanks for the great review, Martha! We love hearing stories and experiences from our customers, so thank you for taking the time to share! We are so happy that you are pleased with your new windows! We hope you enjoy for many years to come! Thanks again!!

Renewal by Andersen has a better product for the price and I purchased doors and a couple of double hung and sliding windows from them. The reps I worked with were great, very professional, very courteous, and respectful of my house. In certain instances, I didn’t even know they were there. And the installation was done very quickly. It was done in the middle of winter and I wasn’t very cold at all even though they were taking big windows out of my house at certain times. We like the windows very much and they were well worth the cost. I recommend Renewal by Andersen. I talk to my neighbors about them all the time.

The salespeople are con artist and the prices are inflated. I received a bill for services not yet performed and this was not discussed with me. When I called I was told that the bill was for the down payment. I was never told that I was going to be billed for the down payment, in fact I asked the sales person about the down payment and was made to believe that it was not necessary.
I would have paid the down payment instead of being billed at 6.66%. I can still pay this off and avoid the interest charges. However, the point is that I should have been given the option and I was not. Also, the guy who arrived at my home to measure removed molding and did not put it back properly. I was supposed to come and measure, this had nothing to do with removal of molding. I will watch anyone very closely who comes into my home moving forward. Stay away from Andersen Windows, they are con artist and a ripoff. Maybe branches are okay, but the branch that I dealt with was in Middletown, NY.

Renewal by Anderson Terrible experience. Was having a garden window replaced in my kitchen. I wanted the new window made the same size as the existing window so it would fit opening. When they came out to install the window on May 14th it was the wrong size. They had to reinstall the old window and re-measure. They came out on June 23rd with the new window and it was 3 inches too narrow and 1 ½ inches too short. They told me that this was correct and used 2x4’s to make the window fit the opening.
The installers called their supervisor and told him I didn’t want the window installed. He was adamant that what they were doing was correct and when they were done I would like it. I told him that is not how I wanted it done and if they put it in and I didn’t like it I wasn’t going to pay for it until they replaced it with the correct window. I didn’t like the finished installation and I’m still waiting for someone to come out and fix the situation. Their sales team is available to meet the customer at the customer’s convenience to sell windows, but when there is a problem and I need to see a manager they would only be available between 9 am to 5 pm and no weekends. I would have to take off from work to meet with them. This is what they consider good customer service.

I needed to replace big 4-foot wide sliders that were like patio doors. I had to do two of them and they open up, so I had these enclosed. I was in the property business and had a lot of properties over the years prior to this. I did a lot of condo conversions and my old crew was using Renewal by Andersen even on the rental stuff that I'm no longer involved with. I further examined Renewal by Andersen and saw that Home Depot was selling them, so I decided that going with them was the best thing to do. They’ve already installed windows three years ago in three complexes and one of them I was heavily involved in and the windows are going great. I normally would have used my own crew, but Andersen works on their stuff all the time and they're very experienced with it. They can do it faster and everything is guaranteed as well.
Their salesman was a good guy and he was straight up and I recommended him to several people. Their installers did the installation in one day and it was not easy to do this. It required a lot of lifting and they lifted 4 seven foot windows. They were heavy and they got it done. The product is excellent and the finishes are great. The glass is really good and of high quality. A lot of the other companies are off-the-wall old storm window siding guys. We used to call them tin men in the old days and they were con men. They were selling junk but this wasn’t the case with Andersen. They have been around a long time and they're one of the top three windows in the country. You can't go wrong with them.

My house was built in 1956 using heavy aluminum windows that still work fine, but I know an upgrade would save energy costs. So when a door to door canvasser stopped in, I was okay with an estimate. The appointment was cancelled twice, then the very pushy sales rep came out. Unbelievable experience and a total waste of my time. Price for 12 windows in a 1500 SF house? $35,000. As the sales pitch went on, the pressure and the dumb comments only got worse. I feel like I was being taken as a total fool and a victim of this sort of sleazy sales tactic. I did get one thing out of this - a good laugh with friends over the price quoted. What a flaming scam!

I do not like making decisions right away, and never confirm anything from someone going door to door. I prefer to think about my options and contact them when I am ready. I explained this to the representative, who became very annoyed and confrontational. I was very nice to him but responded to me with “why would you need to do any research, we are the number one group in the area.” He then proceeded to make a passive-aggressive comment under his breath about the shirt I was wearing as I was leaving. They came out and they did it in one day. When they had to take the original door out, it was in three pieces. It took about 5 hours from start to finish and it was very fast. They also cleaned up and everything was perfect. The cost wasn’t cheap, but I was fine with the price. The quality was fine too. It was sealed and we had no problems this winter with it at all. A door to door salesperson for Andersen Windows visited this evening at 7:30 pm (too late!) as we have a 2 small kids and were just getting ready to put them to bed. We have one window showing wood rot so I went ahead and attempted to schedule a follow-up appointment. The salesperson had to pass my information on to an office person over the phone, then the person on the phone spoke with me to say when the next available appointment is. I was available for the appointment but my husband was not because of work. They said they cannot schedule the appointment unless both homeowners are there. I said it's not possible because he works the next 4 weekends and I work Monday through Friday.
We are rarely both here with time for an appointment like this (I mentioned we have 2 small kids right?). They refused to meet me and passed on my business citing it's their company policy to meet with all homeowners because they provide a custom assessment and it is easier if everyone is here at the same time. So we didn't make the appointment and I will never make an appointment with Andersen, ever. I believe it's possible they didn't want to meet with me because I'm the woman of the house and not the man of the house. I believe it is possible the company practices outright discrimination against women when there is a man who is a co-owner of a home.

I got an email saying that Renewal by Andersen had a sale. I called and someone came to my house and I ended up getting them. They told us that someone would call me and then set up a date, but no one ever called me. I had to call them and they apologized, and then we set up a date. They said they would call me to confirm the date two weeks prior, but no one ever called me. I was aggravated. A few days prior to when they were supposed to show up, I called and I ended up getting the same guy every time. He said that it was his fault. He forgot to contact anybody, so I thought no one was gonna show up. But someone came that day. They said that they would call before they got there, but they didn’t. They just rang the doorbell but it was fine.
The communication in the beginning really drove me nuts because I felt like I had to reach out so many times. But whenever I did, someone answered the phone and talked to me, so everything worked out. The installers were fantastic as well. The four of them and the lead guy were really great. However, they ended up taking longer and we were upset because we were leaving our house unlocked. They said that we could trust them and that they have background checks. I don’t care if they did a background check. I never saw it and it didn’t matter.
They decided to do the windows on the last day. That way, I didn’t have to take another day off from work. The installer finished earlier than he expected and then called my husband and said that he would come back around 5:30 so we could sign the paperwork. That was good. He came back when we were home and everything worked out. We really like the windows. It’s amazing because we got them in the winter and it completely changed our heating bill. And now with the summer, it’s been much better too. I would totally recommend Renewal by Andersen to anybody.

They didn't open right and they had all sorts of issues, so we decided to go with ones that were not wood. That was the thing that we liked most about Renewal by Andersen. We could also get one color outside and another color inside, which was a high point of that. Also, the prices were right. We had six windows done and they said they could do the window replacement in a day, and they did.
My experience with the rep went well. He knew his stuff. I used to be an architect and he talked to me as an architect. The whole installation process was very good. The installers pulled a big trailer into my driveway and pulled out everything they needed and went to work. They were courteous and they looked after the places they worked and helped us move some furniture and things that were on the road.
Since the installation, the quality of the windows has been great. In the lead-up to the hot weather, we were opening them all the time and they worked perfectly. We have a two-story house and what was recently done was upstairs. We had done the downstairs 20-something years ago and they’re still working very well too. My wife says, the cool air comes through the window and I like to stop it in the dining area. I called David and he’s gonna come to look at and measure the window. They also have a 40% discount sale now until July 4th. He also gave us a discount on the door we purchased last year. We know Andersen windows here and I heard a lot about them on television and the paper. They’re prehistoric. And with Andersen, everything from start to finish is very good, even the painting on the woodwork on the door. And the door is doing good. David measured the door and then they took up a while to make the door. But when they came here, they did an excellent job of putting it down because they’re clean. Renewal by Andersen is one of the best and I recommend them. You should go get them.

While their service was fine, I wouldn’t have the people that installed it back if I did it again. It took 3 calls to finally get someone out here and when he showed said that it would be covered under warranty. So then 2 weeks went by and heard from no one. Had to call two more time to get someone out here to fix the issue and he had to come twice as they did not allow enough time and he would need to come back.
He did come back the same day and stayed until he was done but the places he replaced it was easy to tell where it was done as the color did not match very well and you could still see scuffs and dents where they had put the caulk before. I am so glad I did not do all my windows and for what they charge for the one I got I expected a better looking window for the outside looking in. Looking out they are great.

Checked and discovered no service connection detected. The line runs along the base of the patio door. Called Andersen service; they scheduled to have trim removed where wiring ran. The family room has its own phone line and was not noticed immediately.
May 22 - trim removed, discovered wire wrapped with black tape; it was not taped prior to installation. They cut and tried to repair the wire without notifying us. They covered it up with the trim. May 23 - AT&T repaired line late in day. May 24 - called Renewal service to inform work completed; contact was on vacation so I left a message. May 30 - they finally called back. I sent a photo of the taped line; he checked his pre-installation photos and saw no black tape. He knew they cut and taped it without checking if it was working. At this time I told him they could schedule the patio door repair when the storm door was to be installed; Thinking it would only be a few weeks. June 4 - called to check storm door status. They were going to check and call back. June 7 - called again, left message.
June 11 - By this time I have called numerous times, left messages, waited for return calls. THEY NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONE OR RETURN CALLS IN A TIMELY MANNER. I called the main office in Minnesota. They tried to call service with no success. Service called me shortly afterwards. They checked and found no order. They finally, ordered the storm door. At this point I no longer wanted to wait another 6-8 weeks for the patio door trim repair. They were going to check their schedule and call me back.
June 13 - Still no return call. Called again, left message. WHAT A SHOCK, NO ONE ANSWERED. June 18 - They called @ 5:14 PM and left message that installation manager was on vacation, but would send him an e-mail. I called back 5:20 PM, no answer, left message. They gave us three weeks to get the window replacement done but then there was a hold up with the guy that they had allotted for the job. He couldn’t do it, so Renewal worked with me to find somebody else who got it done earlier.
Moreover, their installers were professionals. I met the two installers and the main guy. They introduced themselves, told us what was gonna happen, how they were going to block off where they needed to block off and uninstall the windows because it was the dead of winter. The two rooms that they had done downstairs would take about an hour to warm up, but it wasn’t gonna get negative below. Still, they got those done very very quickly. Then the installer showed me how the window worked. He said if I see a space, that’s because the window is not locked. Once it's locked, I'll see the space go away. He was very thorough. He also did the basement and the windows he replaced there were over 104 years old.
Since the installation, the windows have kept the cold out. They weren't as cold as what we had replaced and even in the basement it's not as cold as it was. They also keep the cellar cool as well. While the people at Renewal were very professional, I would have liked a better deal on the windows. They were great but were a bit more than what I wanted to spend.

Because of quality, I chose Renewal by Andersen over other window retailers. We have purchased a fixed picture window, a slider, and the rest were double-hung windows. I like the windows very well, especially with the soundproofing. They were a little more expensive than the other ones, but the quality is worth it. Renewal gave me a timeline how long the window replacement would take and they completed the installation in the time provided. The installation crew was extremely thorough, too and did an excellent job. And the representative who came here before the installation was very thorough. He had samples and a testing thing to show the effectiveness of the heating and cooling of the windows versus the other ones.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, Jim! We love hearing from our customers! Thanks for choosing to make an investment in your home with Renewal by Andersen!

I knew when I purchased my condo, that it needed natural light in the bathrooms. I contacted Renewal By Andersen, a salesman came looked at what I wanted, said, "No problem", and gave me a price. I gasped, but realized that these were going to be "Andersen Windows", and would take the winds that Palmer is noted for. I wanted a window over the shower. I wanted a window where the glass was 12" by 48". I got a window where the glass measures 6" by 42". Why wasn't I told that there would be 3 inches of frame on all sides? I am not getting the light I wanted. I have been contacting Renewal by Andersen for over a week now, and they still not addressed my concern. Why didn't I get the window that I wanted? Also, the window is crooked from the outside, and there is an extraordinary amount of caulking. I would like the window replaced with what I thought I had ordered. I would like a reply from someone who is able to make a decision.

On March 8, 2018 We ordered almost $90K worth of doors and windows thru Renewal by Andersen - Tucson, Ron **. We were told it would be approx 3 months for delivery. It now being mid June I called to confirm delivery. I knew something was wrong when no one wanted to talk to me or return my calls. With a lot of perseverance I was finally able to confirm that the window portion of our order has never been ordered by their operations manager, Jeff - whose gamesmanship in avoiding customers is second to none.
And, if that was not bad enough, after a lot more perseverance and investigating I also just discovered that the door portion of our order had only just been sent to the door division of Anderson: Provia, two weeks ago. Which they now indicate we will have to wait another 3 months for... It seems that Renewal By Andersen is all the things you would expect and want them to be when they are courting you for your business, but once you sign that contract you are lost and alone in the abyss that is Andersen Windows/Renewal By Andersen. But they are not negligent on everything, they did process our financial obligations to them within 24 hours of receiving our signed contract. #StillWaitingForMyAndersenWindow&DoorsInArizona. #AndersenWindowsDupe #RenewalbyAndersen

Although the major issue of the windows originally being too small will never be resolved without going through the pain of hiring an attorney and having my house all torn up again and refinishing all of the windows inside again, it appears that the leaking and rust has been fixed. The people that RBA sent to perform the warranty work were super professional, super kind and treated me with respect. Couldn't ask for anything better as far as the personnel were concerned.
I will not say that RBA should be your "first" choice when choosing replacement windows for your home. But RBA should be "one" of the choices for sure. Their warranty is top notch and the quality of the windows themselves seems to be very high. To be fair to RBA, my home is very old and the way that the original windows were designed it would have been extremely difficult to get accurate measurements from the outside (which is what the rep did). Proper measurement should have been taken from the inside with the trim removed. This would have revealed the original rough opening and windows could have been ordered that were the proper size and fit.
I've learned more about windows in the last couple years than I ever wanted to know. I thought I really did thorough research before replacing mine (and replacement was a necessity... wasn't a "nice to have") but I still am learning more all of the time.
I highly recommend that if you are in the market for replacement windows you get every company available to give you an estimate. Do the research on every company and every window. Do your homework. Don't look at price first... good replacement windows are going to be EXPENSIVE. Period. Once they are in... you are stuck with them. Unless you have the money to have them ripped out and replaced again.
Andersen definitely has a great history being in business for over a century. But RBA is only a subsidiary. They don't have the exact same track record. Keep in mind that when you choose a window with Andersen in the name you will be paying partly for the name. No doubt. But... so far... they have backed their product by doing warranty work for me without ANY hassle. Though, in my opinion, the very best warranties are the ones you *never* need to use. But it's still nice to know that if you need warranty work it will be done. No questions asked. No piles of paperwork etc. Which was the case for me.

It was a huge hassle from start to finish to get windows from RBA. It started off well with a salesperson showing up at the appointed time and they certainly didn't waste any time taking my order or my check. And then... it started. No communication about when my windows would show up. No communication about when they would be installed until I called and begged to have an install appointment. Snippy comments from the owner and the sales team if I mentioned the fact that these windows are expensive and so I want to know exactly what's going on and when.
The install took place over 3 days. The windows were all way too small. I'm talking 3 and 4 inches of gaps around the rough opening. It's a good thing the installer (who WAS NOT certified by Renewal By Andersen as they promise on their website) had a case of foam insulation because that is what they used to pretty much install my windows. Unsatisfactory. Unbelievable. The installers damaged my breakable siding (which cannot be replaced) around almost every window and even cut clear down into the house on several of the windows leaving nasty holes I had to fill. I had to use caulking to kind of try and make my siding look presentable again. I could go on and on and on about the things wrong.
I LOVE the windows. They look amazing. They seem well made for the most part and very low maintenance. Until this spring... One year and 1 month since the install. We had some driving rains (rain blowing sideways) that made it "rain" inside my house. Water running down from the top of almost every window installed. I am just sick about it. I spent as much as a new car costs for these windows, went through a lot of hassle and was willing to say it was all worth it if the windows would be great and hold up for the rest of the time I would reside in my home.
Now I am going through the hassle of getting someone to come and repair or do something about this. It looks to me that the windows have bows in them at the top where they are already sagging because they are all too small. There is also gaps in the weather stripping where it has slid down. I am not sure what to do. But I couldn't recommend RBA with a clear conscience to anyone. Never again.
Hi Rob: Thank you for reaching out. As we discussed earlier, I am happy to look in to your case and get these details to our regional manager. Thank you!

We found on the web when we went looking for a replacement that Renewal by Andersen existed as an entity for installing things. Many of our friends have Andersen replacement doors and windows that had been installed in their houses over the last thirty years, and they’re high-quality stuff. And then, we moved out of the house in Massachusetts in 2008 that had replacement windows in it. So we were aware of the quality of the products from Andersen and we chose them as we were interested in their door.
The experience of buying the door was straight. There was a schedule for installation and the installer showed up on the appointment. We have two sliding glass doors out to the deck. The second one was an Andersen door that was installed in 1996, replacing a window and enlarging the opening from the dining room to the deck, and we matched the color of that. We have a foundation that people control architectural standards.
The guy who came looked at the Andersen door from ’96 and knew immediately what color of trim had to be ordered. He took out the old door, put it in his truck, and he brought the new one in. He had to build a frame and then installed the door and the frame. And this required some adjustment of the opening because the Andersen door was not quite as wide as the old door. It required bringing in some pressured treated lumber to build the replacement trim on the outside the door so that the trim outside the door matched the trim on the other door.
The installer took care of that very nicely. He told me that he was moving to Texas, shortly after installing the sliding glass door from our kitchen out to the deck. He is a major loss to Renewal by Andersen. He was terrific and a first-rate craftsman. It only took him two hours to do the installation which was good because it was cold outside. He was very quick and did a very clean and neat job, so we were quite happy. I already recommended Renewal by Andersen to a friend. And we will be ordering from Andersen a new front door, as soon as we get clearance from the foundation.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us, Ronald! We love hearing from our customers and so appreciate you taking the time to do so! So happy to hear that you had a great experience with our team - we look forward to working with you in the future! Thanks again!

We’ve heard good things about Renewal by Andersen from friends and their representative was also thorough and knowledgeable. We got double-hung windows and they said that the installation would take three days, and it did. When the installers got here, they got to work and then kept on working even though it was the coldest part of the last winter. They took the old windows out and put new ones in, and when they were done for the day, they cleaned everything up. The windows are very good and we love our them. As a matter of fact, we’re gonna get some more in the fall. We've told friends about Renewal by Andersen too.

I set up the appointment and the salesperson was on time, extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional. After almost two hours - the price for 13 basic windows - and I mean I wanted wood and settled for composite all one color - no frills at all was $32,000.00 ---- I literally almost fell over. Seriously this is a house in the Poconos. That was a third of what I paid for the whole house. Can Anderson even be serious with a price like that? It wasn't even a little reasonable. Needless to say I will just stick with my old windows. I can't even believe that they could quote a price like that and say it is no-frills. I wouldn't waste my time asking Anderson for a quote. Imagine if I had asked for some special custom additions?
Thank you for taking some time to leave us feedback. We appreciate it. We're sorry to hear we weren't the right solution for you. We are, as you discovered, a full-custom solution, and all of our windows are Fibrex composite. We appreciate your consideration, however, and wish you good luck in finding a solution that fits your needs.

Renewal by Andersen has good windows and they are definitely a reputable company so I went with them. They were heavily discounted too. We got the double-hung windows. They're great windows, they look nice and they work well, and I'm pleased with them. Renewal by Andersen felt it would take about three or four days to complete the window installation and it was just what they said. The installation team was efficient and knew what they were doing when they put the windows in and they seemed experienced. However, I was very disappointed that I spent so much money but the windows didn't qualify as ENERGY STAR windows. They should stress that they're not ENERGY STAR and maybe they should make another window that is ENERGY STAR available. Other than that, the windows are perfect.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with Renewal by Andersen! We appreciate your feedback and will take your comment about Energy Star seriously! Thanks again! Enjoy your new windows!

We reached out to Renewal by Andersen and we had some email correspondence with the salesperson. When he came out, he did a demo in the house, and priced out the whole project. Somebody else came out to do the measuring. After that, an install team did the job for three days. Our house was built 150 years ago and we were adamant that what would go in would look like the original and that none of the original molding or anything was ruined or anything like that. And the guys were great about that. Everything looks like it’s been there for a long time. Another person then came out after the fact to check the work. The windows are fantastic and I love them. It's like an all-composite material as opposed to plastic or wood and it is the only one out there like that. They're pricey but they're worth it.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with Renewal by Andersen, Jonathan! We are so pleased to hear that you are enjoying your new windows! Thanks for choosing Renewal by Andersen!

We knew of Renewal by Andersen’s reputation and they ran big ads in the Newburyport paper. So, we called them to see what it was all about. A man came out and his name was John. He was very nice and very knowledgeable. He gave us an estimate and we bought the windows and doors from him that night. We had Renewal put 14 windows which were up and down ones. We also had a door in the bathroom leading out to the backyard and they put two new doors there. We also did the two new front doors.
Renewal by Andersen gave a timeline on how long the glass replacement would take and they completed the installation within that timeline. The whole experience of the installation was very good and nice. They had a large crew that worked hard. They worked nicely and also cleaned up after themselves. They were in and out here in one day for the 14 windows and they came back another time to do the doors because we hadn’t ordered them. The guys knew what they were doing and everything was just as tight as they said it would be. The products we received were well worth what we spent. The product is wonderful and I would like to brag a bit about a job well done.

I’ve had a very bad experience with Renewal by Andersen. We replaced all of the windows for $33,000 and I've had all of this trouble. I’m not a happy camper. First of all, the man came out in the middle of October but they didn't put the windows in until December 29th. I had no idea that they would wait that long and do it in the middle of winter.
Secondly, when the man was here, I had chosen one color of caulking for the outside and then changed my mind. It wasn't but a week later that I called him and changed the color. But the installation team did not know and they had the wrong color. By the time they discovered that, they had to get it and instead of being able to do the work in daylight, they did it at 7:30 at night. The caulking was not supposed to be applied below 10 degrees but the temperature had fallen and was either very close to 10 or below 10 by then. They were doing it in the dark too. They had headlights on but I was not pleased with the looks of the caulking on the outside of the house.
When spring came, I was gonna open the windows and upon taking a closer look, I found that, out of all of the screens in the house, only one of them fits securely enough. A man came out, agreed, took pictures and measured. They all had to be replaced and it again took months. I kept on waiting and finally, I called and they told me almost two months later that the warranty department said that it wasn't necessary. I could almost see outside the way the screens fit and I know bugs can get in. I told them they can't tell me that it wasn't necessary. I would not have gone through that if I didn’t think it was.
I had to have Frank come back out and he could not give me any explanation why. He did the same thing again – measured and took pictures. It was finally fixed but there is still one screen that don’t fit properly. We're into June now and all of these issues have yet to be resolved. Also, although they fit tight enough now, they are scratching the woodwork when getting them in and out. Aside from that, there were also problems with the hardware that cranks the windows out. They are a little hard to crank out and I thought maybe they'll loosen up with age but adjustments did have to be made on some of the hardware. Additionally, it was very humid a few days ago and it was weird that the windows in our bedroom were steamed on the outside when none of the other windows in the house had any condensation on the outside. I'm very worried about these windows.
The reputation of Renewal by Andersen is the best and their windows are the best. I never even thought of asking to see the windows that I would be getting. But I don’t think these windows were designed well. There was wood on my other screens, a little bit of trim, and the screens fit inside that. These don't and they have to fit tight. Their screen design is not good. But other than that, the windows themselves seem to be good and are very nice. The company doesn't seem to be well run though, and I would never recommend Renewal by Andersen to anybody. I have serious concerns about them doing what they say they're gonna do. The people in the office there don't seem to be efficient in communicating. But the men that put the windows in did a very nice and efficient job. They put up this heavy plastic drapery and it wasn't their fault that they had the wrong caulking but I think they should have postponed.

The quote was for $20,000 dollars for 10 windows. Subsequently, after receiving another quote for BRAND NEW windows, installed, for the entire house, for less money, I attempted to cancel. When I attempted to cancel, I was told there was a 25% cancellation penalty or $5,000. No products were ever delivered nor were any measurements made.

Renewal by Andersen seemed to be a fairly quality company and we liked the approach of having everything done by the same company. But there was a little bit of pressure with their salesperson and we were a little disappointed in the pricing of the second set. We actually paid more for the second set of windows than we did the first. We were thinking that since we were repeat customers, perhaps we would get a slightly better deal.
We’ve already done two phases of the installation and both appeared to go really well. The only concern that we had with the second one was that we did it in the winter and we didn’t think that Renewal by Andersen was gonna show up on that day because it was bitterly cold. But they did. They took care to not allow a lot of cold air into the house. The only downside of it was on one set of the windows on one of the bedrooms, when springtime came and I went to put screens in, the windows were too tight for the screens. They were all the same-sized window except for that one window. So we eventually had to have Renewal by Andersen come back and replace the screens for those two windows.
One of the things with Renewal that I like is the wood finish. But by the time we did the pricing, we found out that it was another $200 per window to have the wood finish inside and it wasn’t actually wood. It was just a wood finish. At $200 a window just for the interior finish is a lot of money. Also, there was a choice of what kind of screening we wanted, either do a screen over the whole window so that we could lower the top or the bottom or just do the half. We did the half. We compromised our preferences in order to keep the price somewhere near where we felt we wanted to pay. But we like the windows. The first set has been on for about two years now and they’re holding up well. They’re really expensive but they’re very good windows.
Thanks for sharing this feedback, Bern! We are pleased that we could help you, even though it was bitterly cold! Our installers are all-stars and work in all types of weather! Thanks again for making the investment in Renewal by Andersen - we truly appreciate it!

Purchased 10 windows to replace single hung older ones which were leaking some air and difficult to raise and lower. Having some buyer's remorse concerning the price we paid and with quality of the windows. The installation went well. However, subsequent to installation we noted difficulty in operating tilt release latches to release easily and difficulty in raising and lowering some of the windows. A serviceman has been here twice and is doing his best to resolve our problems. On one of the windows the tilt latch did not work at all. On others difficult. He made some adjustments got the difficult one to work but still not as easily as it should. The plastic clips that slide down to release the latches are more complicated than simple releases on my older windows. Our home has twenty more windows which will have to be replaced at some point.
We will probably look at other options to Renewal by Andersen. Renewal by Andersen window very high priced; the windows not easy to raise and lower and the tilt release mechanisms too complicated. The serviceman (Kerry) very nice and absolutely wants to satisfy us but seems only so much he can do. Looking back on the sales pitch probably too much subtle pressure, i.e., buy today get this discount. We have reacted too quickly and should have checked other options before committing. In conclusion, the product does live up to the publicity and the very high price.

We got double-hung new construction windows from Renewal by Andersen. We had a number of companies come in but we felt that Andersen’s product was superior. Also, our house originally had Andersen windows and they are very close to us in Northborough. We worked with Michael and he was a very professional guy. He seemed very experienced. He answered all our questions and brought over window samples before we made a decision. He did a great job for us. Andersen sent over a job manager and several installers and they put in 11 new construction windows for us and took away the old, broken panes. It was a one-day job. They gave me a timeline and they hit it right on the nose. They also brought vacuums and the house was spotless when they left. They did a phenomenal job.
We love the windows and we could tell the difference. The first storm, we were getting no wind whistles and the house was a lot warmer. So we're 100% very happy with them and we let Mike know that. Also, the cost was spot-on. Andersen is a premium company, so we probably paid a bit more but we felt that the value was there and it proved to be after the job. The product is very high quality as was the installation and support. So we were very satisfied and we would recommend them to anybody.

I went with Renewal by Andersen as I trusted them and I thought I was going with an awesome company that was gonna give me the service that I needed. But now, I'm starting to regret it and I have $15,000 bill that I've created with them. I got a double-hung window from them. The salesperson was formal and he followed up. The installers were very professional and courteous and they were very proficient with getting the job done in one day. It was January 17 and it was freezing cold. They taped up whatever windows they took out so that the air could not come in.
My house was very quiet after the installation and I could definitely tell that the new windows had been installed. I couldn't hear the outside because of the double pane. The window worked exactly how the gentleman said that it would work. In reference to the weather, the coldness on the outside and the warmth being on the inside and not allowing the heat to come in, the window performed the way it was supposed to perform.
There's some sort of a gap though because water was coming in. We had bad weather here in Maryland and water was coming down the wall and it's coming into my bottom window which totally messed up my honeycomb blinds. It started happening about three weeks ago and it only happens when it's a hard rain, so it's the overflow of water. This could possibly be just the seal. It’s a point of getting someone out to look at it and going through the way that it’s supposed to do versus me getting on a ladder and going up there and fixing it myself. I shouldn't have to if I spent this amount of money for windows.
And I have not had a return call yet from them. I was given a beautiful folder of what my warranties were and every connection whether it be email, website, a phone number but everything has been useless. Even with me filling out a service repair request online yesterday, I still got no response. I love my windows but right now, I'm frustrated.

We have a brand-new house and we have all new windows. However, the sliding door that we had, which we thought was an Andersen, was very inefficient. We got a hold of Andersen and told them to come out, take a look at what we have and see if we can get a door that’s efficient. And we did. It was a custom door so we had to order it. It was measured and delivered within the dates that we expected it to be. Their rep happened to be somebody in our neighborhood. He was very friendly, very kind and professional. We had a nice conversation and everything went well.
The installation took a little longer than we expected. They had to take off the door trim and the door frame itself had to come off, and they had to put it back on. Luckily, that went well. However, there were some dirt and dust and it was winter. There was supposed to be some drape to go over the door while the process was being done as a protection against the cold and that did not happen. Nevertheless, the installer apologized.
The door is great. In the cold, you can’t feel anything coming off the door. It was well-made although the cost was higher than I expected. In fact, there was a humongous difference between what we originally wanted and what we actually got. The actual product fits better to the outside of the house because it’s a bronze finish. And then, around the window frames that we had originally that came with the local package, are the same colors. That works really well. The one that my husband first selected, which was the more expensive of the two, had a green outside, which was the color of our actual trim to the house. And then, it was already pre-stained on the inside to go with the pine color that we already have.
We asked what else do they have and they came up with this other door with bronze finish on the outside and bronze hardware on the inside. But the inside is not finished. If you wanted to make an improvement, it would be proper to finish the inside of the door which is just raw wood. So now that we’re into the warmer weather, I have to get busy and stand inside and varnish it. That’s a bit of a pain in the neck and I already spent $4,000 for that. But it’s not too big of a deal. The overall quality is really good. But to me, that’s a lot of money for a door. Nonetheless, we like our door and we’re happy with our experience with Renewal by Andersen.
Thank you, Rachel! We're happy to hear your new door has improved the energy efficiency of your home!

I purchased two sliding doors and one fixed window from Renewal by Andersen. The rep came and measured, told me exactly what they do, and showed me the project. And once I decided to go with them, the guy came and did a re-measurement. It was a cold day when they showed up for the installation, but they said that they would do it as long as I was fine with it. They took great care to put down drop cloths so they wouldn’t track snow and stuff in and they were done before they thought they would be. Everything was clean and the old windows were gone and they went on their way. It was pretty simple. And they seemed to know what they were talking about. I’d suggest other people to go with Renewal by Andersen. They’re really thorough, did a good job and their customer service was good. This was six months ago and the windows fit. The quality is great too. I really like them. They are really expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, Martha! We are so pleased to hear that the install team did such a great job - even in the cold weather! Thanks for choosing Renewal by Andersen and suggesting that others do the same! We appreciate it!

The guy from Renewal by Andersen who came over to the house was good. He gave us the spiel on what we were looking for and we gave him our spiel too. He came to a conclusion and then sent us a quote. We compared it to the quotes from other companies that we were dealing with and theirs was the best one we got. And since Andersen windows are good, we went with them and purchased three windows and a French door.
The installation was done on the coldest day of the year. The guys came over, did a really good job and were out in about seven hours. The house was clean when they left. There was snow on the ground, but when the snow melted, there was no junk underneath the snow. So far, I like the products. The only thing I didn’t like was there was a plate on the French window that was the same color as the handle. It was in the middle of the door and my wife thought that it should be white. I called somebody and asked them about it. They sent us out a new plate and now it's white. I'd recommend Renewal by Andersen.
Thanks, Dennis!! We're happy to hear that YOU are happy :-)

The windows in the house were already Renewal by Andersen windows and we have a lot of confidence in Andersen’s products. We got four new double-hung windows put in which were just updated versions of what were already there. Everything went fantastic from the time the rep came in and we purchased the windows and he told us what to expect until they were installed. The rep who came was very good, very professional, very helpful and knew what he was doing. Everything went smooth as clockwork, especially considering that they replaced the windows in January. We were a little bit concerned about that. But everything went exactly as we expected it to or maybe even better than we anticipated. The old windows, especially since they were bathroom windows, were looking a little dated and aged because of the moisture so the new windows were definitely an improvement. They’re a little bit more expensive but they’re well worth it.
Thanks for the awesome review, Lawrence! We really appreciate the feedback and are so pleased to hear that you had a great experience! Thanks again! We hope you enjoy your windows for many years to come!

Based on recommendation, I contacted local Renewal by Andersen company. After an intelligence insulting presentation (Tin Men anyone?) I was presented a price of 1,900 per window. But this month I could get it for 1,500 per window. I have never shopped for windows before, but that is about double what I expected. Am I wrong to question the price? What is the going rate for a quality window?

We had had good feedback about Renewal by Andersen and my husband talked to a gentleman who had come to the house with some information. The customer service was good and we looked the information over. Since there was going to be a sale on, we had the individual come back after I got our normal contractor to do a bid and prove to us that Andersen was going to do it for the price they said. We interviewed the individual some more then we told them to go ahead. We purchased a front door with two side windows, which was an all-in-one inclusive, and the quality is very good. The installation was done in the middle of winter and the individual was very good. I would encourage a friend to give Andersen a shot -- to call a rep and have them come out, and to talk to them and ask about options, potential pricing or sales that might come up.
Thanks for leaving a great review, Kathryn! I am thrilled you had a positive installation experience - even in the dead of winter! We appreciate you choosing Renewal by Andersen and encouraging other to do the same! Thanks again!

I had done a renovation about two and a half years ago and I used Andersen sliding doors for the back of the house. When I wanted to have my windows replaced, I wanted them to be of similar quality to what I have gotten for the new sliding door so I chose Renewal by Andersen. I got seven windows and they were on time, if not just a tad early, finishing the replacement. It was all very good. Even though I’m not in a historic district, my concern was to have my windows look as if they were original and it has more than exceeded my expectations. The windows that were replaced were installed long ago, a couple of them as early as 1925, so they had been tainted shut and were not operable. The replacement windows are all brand-new, crisp and much quieter. They’re more energy-efficient and they’re operable too.
They also have operable screens so I can have cross ventilation in the house now. This is an older townhouse and in the past, I had not had cross ventilation because I was not able to open the old windows so that was very good. But almost more importantly is that any problems I previously had because of water coming in because of storms is gone. And their call was very timely because last night we had another horrific storm with incredible water hitting the house and there was no water coming in from outside of the windows.
The nature of the installation was very good. I was very happy that it didn’t look like there are these new windows in old openings. You won’t distinguish they’re new versus old. They looked very crisp, so the house looks that much better. But they also looked like they are part of the original house. They just look like they’re in good quality and in good repair. And not only that, this house was my grandmother’s house so when she passed, I was able to acquire it from the estate. So I have a sense of pride in trying to keep the house up and keep it in its character.
It’s also clear that the level of pride that the salesperson and the installer felt had much more to do with their being part of the company, not just employees of the company. The installer had said that he had been in another company. He came to Andersen with a slight income cut but his income has continued to rise so he’s doing better in Andersen than he was doing before. I would tell a friend to absolutely use Renewal by Andersen.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us, Stephen! We appreciate it! We are so pleased that you are enjoying the look of your new windows! Thanks for choosing Renewal by Andersen!

We wanted a sliding double door for the back patio. The salesman was nice. He lives where I used to live in the same town so we connected immediately. He was very knowledgeable and he informed us of the actions that we had and any obstacles or issues that we would encounter, he got different options. It was nice to know that he knew what he was talking about. On the other hand, the installer was amazing. He was very nice, very courteous and very clean. They almost quarantined the whole area so that they won’t get any debris in any of my personal property, which I thought was amazing. Because the installation was done in the wintertime, they did as much as they could not to expose my house to unnecessarily cold air, which was good too. And they finished the installation in a timely manner and finished everything before they left.
The quality was amazing. We had a previous door here. While it seemed solid to us, the seals, we didn’t feel were effective because we could feel draft. But with this new door, we felt the heavy-duty quality of the door. We feel secure and we have no drafts. Also, the cost was fair. Sometimes, people think that if you buy something at a retail store, you’re gonna get a better deal. But we’ve learned from past experiences that everything that they sell in the store, while some of it is good, is not the best. I had the bad luck that when I tried to buy price-wise, I don’t get the quality that I need. That’s why we went with Andersen because we knew the price was gonna be different, but the quality was gonna be better. Overall, we are completely satisfied with them. In fact, we do tell people that we got a brand-new door and that Andersen did it.

Do not follow through as advertised. Not one company but three. No noise reduction. Sloppy work. Trim work and caulking still not complete. They will cover rotten wood if you don’t catch them. Still have drafts at some windows. Flexing squeaking noise during high winds at front windows. Three windows don’t appear centered. Windows installed in February and this is May 24 and windows not complete or problems not corrected. Had thirteen windows replaced and still unsatisfactory service with no regard to correct problems correctly. Will say they are going to replace sashes then renege on promises.
I actually need thirteen more windows replaced, however unless Anderson will complete these problems, the additional windows won’t be theirs. The sale started as a pleasant experience but is ending as a bad one. Seems that the sales end, Anderson windows, Renewal by Anderson and Ambassador Homes are the three companies involved and contradict what they will or won’t do. If they decide to complete the work satisfactory, I will reply.

My husband and I are updating our small Southern California cottage, literally 4 windows. The living room picture window is large, so we expected a higher cost. The temps in San Diego County get hot in the summer and we want to be more energy efficient. I work in the Construction industry for over two decades and I am familiar with getting 3 quotes and choosing the best product, installation and price. Lowest price doesn't always mean best.
We were told to allow at least 90 minutes for the quote, which we thought was a long time to look at our windows, listen to what we are looking for, etc., but we allowed the time out of respect for the salesperson. He arrived with all these window samples and frame samples (along with what competitors use). He measured the windows, got his iPad out, we went outside and he looks at our living room window and asks, "Does this side of the building get wet when it rains?" Well of course the outside of the building will get wet when it rains. He then goes onto to say how they need to add and extra reinforcement for their frame.
I told him we are looking at Low E windows, want a retrofit to match existing neighbors and because I live in an HOA. Well our salesman didn't listen to what we wanted, the consumer, and priced up 4 windows with Smart Glass to the tune of $12,000!!! He also didn't have nice things to say about any competitors, which I didn't care to listen about and only compared Andersen windows to Vinyl windows, which is not what we were ever going to look at. Then came the almost Timeshare sales pitch of, "You have to but today and sign to get this price"... he shows my husband and I what the price would be, less a Nationwide discount (of what we are not sure) and an additional $995 discount by signing that day or lose the discount.
My husband and I both said that for $9K purchase, we need time to review the quote and decide what's best for us. Again trying to pressure us into the sale that day, I asked him to email the quote so we could review and would get back to him. It was insulting to get the "quote" as just a snapshot of the page from his iPad with no cost breakdown for materials, labor etc. Also, one of the whole reasons Renewal by Andersen was one of our choices for a quote was they offered a buy one window get one for 40% off. Well, by the "quote" we received, we couldn't make an intelligent review of unknown costs compared to other window installers. After finding this website, I am certainly glad I reviewed them here before the purchase.

There wasn't high pressure from him and we like his enthusiasm for the product. The installers were two young guys and they were very personable. We had a couple of issues with the installation and they told us some options to fix those. They scheduled somebody to come back out and make a few adjustments, so everything was fine. We had Andersen come out and I liked the quality of the window that they presented to me. I also like the reviews. I purchased a composite window with the wood grain interior from them. I had double hung for most of them and I have a casement, and I’ve gotten some half-moon ones that’s over the double hung, and a patio door. I bought a lot from them and I’ve had two different series done now. They had the date set up when I purchased the windows and they completed the installation within the timeframe they gave. The rep also thoroughly explained the window.
I went to the location that I was working with because there are several Renewal by Andersen locations around. I talked with the manager and he showed me around the shop and what they were doing now. It had been two years since I purchased some of the first set and it was all good. They installed the windows very efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. I inspected all of the windows and if I saw something, they fixed it. I had one little thing and they took care of it.
I have a rental home, another house that I had windows put in and this house, so I’ve had several different makers of windows. The windows from Andersen are expensive and I’ve only had them for a few years, but so far I’ve been very impressed with them and I’m hoping that the cost will be well worth it. I have noticed a huge difference in the warmth of my house since I put these in so, other than the cost of the windows, I’ve seen my heating bill decrease as well. The windows I had before in my house were very drafty and they weren’t as good quality, so I’ve noticed a huge difference there as well. I was happy with what Andersen did and I’m happy with the windows.

We got a massive window done a couple of years earlier by Renewal by Andersen. We looked at a bunch of places before we got the window done and we knew we wanted a high-quality window with the gaps and everything that would be economic for saving both heating and cooling. We looked at a bunch of different windows and Renewal by Andersen was the best quality for the best price. Once we did that, we’re like, “Well, we gotta keep going.” We like wood as opposed to pure aluminum clad. Their windows are wood. We like the panes, so the wood dividers are pane-ing the windows. They're easy cleaning, they're easy fix-up, and the exterior is already matched to the color of our house. It's a two-storey wall of windows. It’s on the same side of the house and it’s a big and detailed job. They killed the job with lots of people and did it all in one stretch of time, and got the whole thing done from morning to afternoon all complete.
As for the second job, they were done in a day. However, it took a while to get it scheduled because they’re popular. We had to wait and we were hoping to get it done before Thanksgiving because we ordered before Thanksgiving in 2017 and didn’t happen until 2018. We had to turn them away once also because the day that we scheduled was minus 20. I said, “I don’t think we’re opening up the entire wall since it’s a sliding glass door. It’s minus 20 and we’ll never recover until July. We'll be frozen solid." We had to reschedule and that was our fault, not theirs. And then, they came and did it and it was fine. It’s a good door and they even repaired some damage that the older door had left because there was some water leakage underneath the floor. They had to dig down in there a little bit and put new wood in there and they took care of all that.

I own a really old house. It's almost a hundred years old and I was pretty concerned about the quality of what I would put into that. Renewal by Andersen came highly recommended by people in the neighborhood and people with similar homes. Their rep was really nice. He explained everything really well, was really approachable and wasn’t pushy about selling anything or talking to me about anything that I don't need. We got a double hung window from them and they gave a timeframe for how long the replacement would take. It was from the time that we met with them and it was spot on to what they predicted so I was really happy with it. They replaced them in the middle of January, which I was obsessed by. It was freezing so they were troopers because when we had initially met and they said that would be when they were installed, I didn’t even notice that. It was an option and they were good.
I love the windows. They're a huge improvement over what was there and they look great. They are expensive and they are not the cheapest option, which I knew going in. But I can already tell the difference with the heating of my house especially during winter and that's the important trade-off. They are expensive but it's worth it. One of the windows was delivered with a broken screen but they noticed it before I even did when they were installing it. They got me a new one and they've already put it in so that hasn’t been an issue at all. They handled it really well and I was very happy. I would recommend Andersen.

Renewal by Andersen seemed to know how to handle our specific space better. We chose them because of that and because of their product. We had four casement windows purchased all together and a picture window, two of the double hung for the picture window, which was a window box, and then two double hung.
We started the whole process back in November and the products were installed in January. The presentation took a very long time and it was good that I didn’t feel I was pressured. But I didn't see a full picture of what the windows were gonna look like. It was okay, but I didn’t realize there was gonna be wood in-between my windows and the side of my window box. So, I'm not horribly displeased but it would be nice if someone laid everything out on the computer for me once I chose what I wanted and they could show me the virtual reality of what it’s gonna look like. I didn’t know after it was installed how it was gonna look. I'm not happy with that part because it was a surprise.
The installation was okay. I like that the installers did it all in one day but I didn’t like that there were so many workers. And there was one worker who was unprofessional. He kept coming in my house and I didn’t like that. He kept using his phone, and a couple of times I felt like he was watching inappropriate stuff at my house. I finally locked the door to make sure he didn’t come in anymore. He asked if he could charge his phone, which was fine. And then, he started taking personal phone calls like in my house with his girlfriend. He was also asking me for water. He wanted his girlfriend to bring him a case of water. It was a bit awkward for me.
The other thing is that they finished some of the rooms and they didn’t tell me I shouldn’t touch anything yet. I have little kids and they were home, and one of my kids screwed up the caulking. The installers fixed it mostly but there is still a blemish. They didn’t fix it all the way. They told me it was done. Other than that, we're in good shape and I hope that our overpaying is worth it.
Thanks for this feedback, Courtney! It is helpful to hear this from our customers and we will take it into serious consideration! We appreciate your business so thank you for choosing Renewal by Andersen! We hope you are enjoying your new windows!

The windows that were done about 35 years ago needed replacement. Because we've already had Andersen in the house and have had really good luck with them, we went with them again and got slider windows. It was a separate salesperson that came out. We talked about the benefits of the windows, about what we wanted and what we needed, and worked out a window and a price that was within our budget. Then they sent back somebody to measure them and check the place, and then the installers came out. It was all done in a day. The only thing I didn’t like, and it's probably not a big thing, was the fact that they did it on a day when it was about 19 degrees out. They kind of curtained off our side of the house here. But my concern wasn’t so much with the temperature in the house. It was how any caulking would hold up at that temperature.
The windows are quite nice and very durable. I like the new e glass, the screens, and the way they operate. I could have bought windows that were maybe a little inferior for substantially less, but I like the transferrable warranty and I like the fact that they're Andersen. I shouldn't have to worry about them. We're quite satisfied and Andersen did a fine job of cleaning up. I've recommended them too.

When I spoke to their salesman he sold me on the fact that I would like the quality of their work and product, but that was not the case. It took four weeks from talking to the salesman & in putting an downpayment on the project for the custom windows to be install. First problem was that the Kitchen window was manufactured wrong - they got the height and width mixes up. Since the installers already remove the old windows they had to put the new window in on its side. Next the two rear bedroom windows they put the exterior trimming missize. One window had a long trim. The other had a short trim under the windows. This look bad along with the rear Kitchen window. It looks very bad.
Next the Living room window exterior trim. First the exterior trim I already had look very much better looking than the cheap plain one they installed. Next the quality of the installation was very poor. There is a large amount of sealing or glue on one side of the exterior trim and a small amount on the other side. When I point it out to the different installer who put up the replacement Kitchen window he even admit that it was a messy job done by the first installers.
It took the first installers a long time to install the windows. It took them 11 hours to do the job. It took another 19 days for Renewal by Andersen to custom built another Kitchen window. The second team did a better job than the first team but to manufacture incorrect Kitchen windows even after they took the measurement twice is bad. Renewal by Andersen windows are very over price (it cost me nearly $1,800 per window) and they are not worth it at all. If I knew then what I know now I would not had purchase windows from Renewal by Andersen.

They're one of the cheapest by far, but the quality of the material is good. The installers were really good but the timeline got all messed up. We ordered the windows back in November with a possible before-Christmas install. However, one of the doors was an oddball size so we delayed the install until January. Then in January, they came out and installed some of the windows. In February, they came back and did the doors but they didn’t complete the job until March 8. We're also still working through the process of refinancing and it's a pain in the neck. It expired because of the timelapse. I even got an invoice for it, but I'm okay since I haven't paid for all of it yet.

Bring new $8,000.00 patio door from company warped and scratched. We just had an patio door put in last Tuesday April 24, 2018, it came from the factory warped and scratched. We waited 8 weeks for this door!! Now it has to be replaced and when I call they seem to send all of my calls to voicemail!!! They never called me back so I had to keep calling. When I finally talk to and Annette she told me it will take another 4 weeks to replace which I can't get my room done over and can't put up my patio awning, this is why I ordered this door in January!!!
So when I told her I am not paying anything until this door is RIGHT!! She got real quite sure they want their money, they definitely do not stand behind their NAME. I do not and will not recommend them to anyone EVER!!! And don't go for their sales pitch that you get so much off because it is a farce and I found out after it was too late and not researching I could've gotten it a whole lot cheaper... PLEASE DO NOT READ THE FLYERS THEY PUT IN YOUR DOOR!!!

We needed windows and I knew a little bit about Champion but I didn’t want to deal with them anymore. On the other hand, the sales guy from Renewal by Andersen was very nice. He gave us the price and told us what we needed to do. He also came out a couple of times to see how things were going and everything went well. I’m 78 so the installers had to do all the moving of the furniture and then they took the others out and got rid of them. It was all good. It was done in half a day. I had four fairly big double-hung windows which were very expensive but they’re well-made. It works well for me so I would tell others that they should give Renewal by Andersen a try.

I purchased patio doors from Renewal by Andersen, which was recommended by a friend whose opinion I trust dearly. The contractor was very nice and courteous. He and his team were very professional and they did a great job. It was a very cold winter day and when they came in, they put some tarps up to help keep the cold out. Then they took the old doors out and put the new doors in. They framed them all in with new moldings and showed me how everything worked. They also cleaned everything up. The contractor did very well and the service was very good. I was very satisfied and even though Renewal by Andersen was a tad more expensive, it was worth it and I would recommend them.

We had done window replacements in my daughter’s home nearby, and that company went out of business. So we had been through the spiel with a number of places. And because our home is in a certain price point, we decided to go with what we felt was a better quality finished product. We went with Renewal by Andersen and their sales rep came to the house and talked about the product and pricing. They're pricier than any other vinyl window out there, but we feel the product was worth the price. My sister-in-law got her windows for a fourth of the price of what we paid, but they're the typical vinyl replacement windows.
We signed the contract and the rep stayed with us through the installation process and stopped by on the final day of installation so, that was excellent. The work team that was at the house explained what they were going to do. They also protected all of our personal belongings and flooring. We had built our home 15 years ago, had crank-out windows and a good portion of the sills were rotted after 15 years so, we switched to double-hung which we liked. We have two stories of windows so, 33 windows were replaced. They were able to complete the replacement of the windows within the timeframe they gave us. There was one window that wasn't a correct fit and they told us that it wasn't constructed properly. They informed us what the timeframe would be for them to get the proper one back and then they took care of it.
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, Donna! I am glad that the install team worked to fix the window that did not fit properly. Customer satisfaction is the most important thing to us! Thanks again for choosing Renewal by Andersen!

I had Renewal by Andersen windows originally and they all slid, so I decided two of them were turnouts. We got doors from them also. The timeline was a day or two and they were able to complete the installation in the timeline provided. The rep from Renewal by Andersen was super good. He showed us all the different options and went from beginning to end. He said that they were really nice windows and that the guys would come in and take care of everything. The whole experience was completely professional and very well-done. They ripped the windows out and put the new ones in. The windows are awesome. The moldings were a little beat up, so when the guys were done, the ledges had some markings on them and things like that.
During two of the coldest days of the year, I had two fireplaces going and I had the heat set at 60, and it was barely 40 in the house. We asked them not to come, although we were already scheduled. On the second day, they were calling for a bunch of snow and I told them not to come and that the house was locked up. They were quite upset and they weren't very happy about that. Everybody's got a schedule and time to work in, but I didn't have to have it done until spring, and that was their schedule to come in. I wasn't so happy about that. Other than that, everything was fine.
The quality's very good, but the cost was also very heavy. We got the biggest discount as I could receive, and it was around $20,000-some discount. The cost was astronomical and there's no question about it. I paid $260 for the house, and the cost without the discount was $60,000. I would definitely recommend Renewal by Andersen and I'd tell my friend to go for it if he can afford it.

I contacted Renewal by Andersen and they sent a rep to our house. He was so nice and very polite. He was not in a hurry and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. I really liked him. We purchased several windows that were worth over $10,000. They gave us a timeline and completed the installation within that timeline.
They did the installation in January, and the workers came when they said they were gonna come. I wanted to be home while they were there and they were very polite. Moreover, they were respectful of our house and took their shoes off. They did it all in one day, which was sooner than we expected, and they did it well. They cleaned up all their stuff and left our house very neat, both inside and outside. I was really happy with the installation. The windows are exciting and made our whole house look nicer.

Renewal by Anderson has better choices and the sales representative who came out was really good. He was very friendly, personable and went out of his way to explain everything to me. He showed me colors and how the door would look when it was finished. He also showed the hardware and how it would look. I'm a visual person so it was very helpful. He worked with me to find a way to make some passes without being over my budget. Then he worked on a financial plan that served my lifestyle which was very good.
During the installation process, the team members were punctual and they worked well together. They cleaned everything up and swept everything up real nice. My floors were cleaner after they left it than before they got there. They made specifications about what was ordered. It worked out well and it was very nice. The man who installed the door and the guy who installed the windows were very professional. They were a good team. In terms of the quality of the new front door, it makes a big difference and it completely changed the look of the house. I got everything that I asked for and I would highly recommend this service.

I got a slider window and two regular windows installed by Renewal by Andersen. Their people came in and I showed them what needed to be replaced. In some situations, you are relying on them to tell you whether you are showing them different windows, which ones need to be replaced and which do not. But in my situation, they were all so old that I already knew they needed to be replaced. They told me it would be done in one day, and it was. The quality of their service was very good. They explained everything to me and they answered all of my questions. I felt very comfortable with the situation. It is a condo that I have, so it had to go through the homeowner's association for approval. And Renewal by Andersen actually handled all of that, which is one of the things they promised me upfront. They took care of all the details and got it approved so, I was very happy. They fulfilled everything they said they were gonna do.
The windows are great but they were expensive. I could have gotten cheaper windows with another company, but I felt that it is an investment in the house so I went ahead with Andersen. They told me how much it was and they were upfront and they did not try to hide the fact that I could have gotten it cheaper but they did a very good job. The windows are clearly an improvement over what I have had and just by looking at the product, you could tell the difference. They were everything that I was looking for and the workmanship was very good as well. I would recommend Andersen and I'm very happy with the product.

I heard from several people that vinyl windows were not the way to go so I wanted a better material that would last longer. When I purchased double-hung windows and a sliding deck door from Renewal by Andersen, their sales rep was very nice and thorough. He was straightforward and was willing to explain things. He also gave us advice on what kind of improvement there would be with any particular window. He didn’t tell us we had to do every window in the house. So, it seemed like we were getting a fair deal from him.
The installation went well. It varied on the day, but we had from three to five guys here every day. They would start one room and finish it. There might be two rooms that were being worked on. They just worked on a specific thing, get done with the room before they left for the day, and then come back and move on. The guys who came in were very polite, respectful and did the job efficiently, cleaned up after themselves and there was just no hassle to it. The windows were very nice and I liked them a lot. I no longer feel like there’s a wind traveling through the house. I have recommended Renewal by Andersen to several people.

In my childhood Renewal by Andersen was what we always used in our family. Recently I purchased some replacement windows for the front of our house but Renewal by Andersen did not meet the timeline that they gave us. We were disappointed and I sent in a customer satisfaction card on it. We ordered the windows in October and we were told that they would be there the first part of December. I called the sales rep when we didn't hear anything and he was outstanding. He immediately contacted me and said customer service was going to call me that day but we never heard from them. I finally called Renewal by Andersen in January and we got the windows about three weeks later. We could see that the windows were manufactured after the time I called in January. They took 50% of the money but I don’t think the order was even placed and if I had never called we would have never gotten the windows.
The installation team did a great job. They were very clean, very polite and they protected our wood floors. The windows are beautiful and I couldn't complain about them once we got them. We love the windows and the quality is excellent. They don’t have the heat transfer or the cold transfer through the glass. They open and close very easily, and they're crystal clear. We’re definitely going to replace the rest of the windows in the house with Renewal by Andersen. We are planning on ordering for the back of our house and I’m only hoping that the ordering process goes a little better. Renewal by Andersen is much more expensive than any other windows but if you’re going to stay in your house they’re definitely worth it.
Thanks for your great review, Nancy! How fun that you and your family has been using Renewal by Andersen for so long - we love to hear that! We look forward to working with you again in the future! Thanks again! Take care!

The contractor that we had before had terrible reviews and our neighbor told us to check out Renewal by Andersen. That Sunday, there was even a big ad in the paper so we had a number to call right away. The initial person who sold us the windows, Mitch, seemed very nice and an expert. It was a smooth, easy sale but I didn't feel that he did the necessary follow through. He left us hanging for a little while and the implementation from his side took a little longer. But we're a part of a condo association and that may have been more challenging for him to deal with. The subsequent people at the office were absolutely fabulous though.
Also, the most important to me was that the windows were installed properly. And their installers were real stars. They were true experts and wonderful craftsmen. They were very pleasant to have in the house. There are two floors and lots of rooms, and they were great at keeping the dust down. The windows were being put up in January and the weather was terrible. They had to do a lot of replacing of boards out in the back to make the installation good. They were gonna do it in three days and it actually took three and a half days but it would have been three if the weather had been good.
The double hung ones were made for seaside living and salty air, and they’re superb. We've lived through four storms in March and we’re very happy. We would recommend Renewal by Andersen in spite of the initial delay that we had. The cost was a fair amount as well, also because of the installation. What they did was a great process.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with Renewal by Andersen! I am so glad you are pleased with the installation of your windows, despite the original delay! Customer satisfaction is the most important concern of ours! Thanks for choosing Renewal by Andersen and sharing a review!

We've had a little experience in remodeling and our most current project was the quality of windows in the house. They’re all custom size windows and they were originally steel casement windows. Although they probably looked very nice in 1932, they were not the best thing for keeping the house warmer. We wanted to replicate the look with a more efficient window and Renewal by Andersen was able to produce it. After we showed interest initially, they sent a representative to the house and we talked about options. They knew what they were selling and what they can manufacture. They didn’t talk that much but they explained the differences so we understood what they were selling us. Then they followed up with us and tried to nail it down and find out the schedule and cost. There were a couple of different appointments but it all worked out.
The installation team showed up on time. We had some pre-scheduled time and they showed up with an adequate number and they kept their schedule. They replaced every window in the house, so they did 29 windows, and they were very good at doing what they had to do. It was somewhat complicated because of the way the old windows were embedded into the house but the team contained the dirt and the issues that we didn't even know might come with something like that. And the finishes were done very well. It was a remarkably good job. They was able to do a replacement that replicated the look and is much better as far as the noise and the temperature. They gave us exactly what we wanted.
The windows operate well and the quality is very good. We haven’t had any major issues at all and anything that has come up, they have taken care of. Follow-ups have been very good. We had one window that cracked because it’s all computer-monitored now. They produced it and a gentleman showed up and replaced the broken one in 45 minutes. We also had a recall which they took care of very well. There was an issue with the glasses between several windows and they replaced those windows. They took care of that and it was no problem at all. The cost was in the higher range, but it's well worth it and we’ve told several people to give them a shot. I had to wait a while for the $100 gift card for the referral though. I suspect it got lost in the paperwork somewhere but they were good about it.

I heard about Renewal by Andersen through friends and family and this company was the only one that could offer the style that I wanted. I purchased door walls and a patio door from them. The sales rep was excellent. I had to call in for a couple of questions though and a lady that I spoke to on phone wasn’t very helpful but cooperative. So I called the sales rep and he took care of it. The installers were good but unfortunately, it started snowing when they were installing it and they left the board with the nails in my driveway and I ended up getting a flat tire. However, I called them about the issue. I got a new tire and it was reimbursed.
They’re coming out on Monday as I have a couple of issues that have come up over the winter but the quality of the products is good. They were more expensive than the other three quotes that I got but I feel that I got a good product. You get what you pay for and you pay a lot for these doors but it’s the best quality and the best service. Also the company was pretty close to the timeline that they told us.
Thanks for this feedback, Tim. So sorry about your tire - I am glad we were able to make it right by you! We appreciate your business and you taking the time to share your experience with Renewal by Andersen! Thanks again!

I live in a very nice brand-new condo. I remodeled the whole thing but I am cold. I had Home Depot put in all new windows and a new patio door in this house when I got it and the windows were okay for a few years but for the last five years, I’ve been thinking about getting them replaced. Especially with one of my windows, you can put your hand there and feel the breeze coming out. My grandson would come over in the wintertime to put up those plastic thing and I hated that. I knew that I had to put windows in and I asked about some of the stuff at Home Depot but they didn’t do that. Then I saw Andersen's ad on TV and that was what prompted me to call for a salesman to come out.
When the salesman was here, I told him about all of the issues and he looked at all my windows. He was very knowledgeable about the windows and was very thorough in explaining. I asked him what the difference was between vinyl and another material, and he told me their windows were made of composite. Plus there’s a lifetime warranty on them so that was really good. He was also very good at explaining the price. We knew it was gonna be expensive because they’ve told me that at Home Depot. But I had made up my mind. I can’t be replacing windows every five years. I was gonna pay more money than I wanted to, but I wanted to make sure to get a window that wouldn't be cold. I’m 84 and I was super sensitive. Plus it’s not just the windows. You have to have the people who can put it in properly.
I always think that salespeople have to sell so I wonder how much I can believe. But the Andersen salesman was very personable and he gave off a feeling of being very trustworthy. He told me my patio door didn’t need to be replaced so I appreciated his honesty. That was the only thing that lasted from what I had installed. At Home Depot, they said it's actually an Andersen patio door. So I got all the other windows at good price but I probably paid double for the windows through Andersen. Still, it was worth it because it isn't a cheap window that's gonna last a few years and then start letting air in around.
The installers came up here very early in the morning. I knew I had to be away so my grandson came over and when I come home, they were finishing up. They finished the job really fast. They also explained everything to my grandson so it was very good. I was really surprised with how well the windows looked. I like the screens on them. They’re the same style but you could see through those screens so much better. I had to go by the rules of the condo, which meant I couldn’t have sliders. So there are two double windows in the opening and then the other two were single. I think they’re gonna last. Andersen's is the only window to buy if you only want to buy once in your lifetime.

Renewal has a little more competitive pricing and we have used them in the past. We purchased the ProVia windows and doors they offer, and some sliding doors as well. Their sales rep, Blake, was great. He and I had worked in the past as well. We were in a weird hurry the first time we met, so he had come back a second time. Then I wish I had gone slower with the details because one detail got missed. It was a tiny detail that we went over email but we didn't go over when we were face-to-face. I’ve noticed that if there’s a change done through email, it doesn’t always go through. And in my past experience, something over email also got missed. Nonetheless, Everything else went smoothly with Blake.
The installation process was long but I expected that. Still, it was good. The windows were done quickly. The guys knew exactly what they’re doing and they cleaned up after. The front door was a little more troublesome for the installer. It was a big job and it lasted into the evening. I had to leave and my husband had to come back. Unfortunately, because of how long that took, my husband didn't check anything. The door locks itself but it’s really hard to lock and unlock it. I’m hoping it loosens up some because at the moment my kids can’t open and close it. We weren’t living in the house and I didn’t know it until a couple of days later when we came back. But that was more of our fault and the installer definitely had his hands full with this door project. Other than that, everything looks beautiful. Renewal has excellent products and I would still use them again.

We had an old door and we live in Massachusetts so it's very cold up here. We were losing lots of heat through that door and I was paying an exorbitant amount of money for oil and gas to heat the home because of how coarse the door was. I placed a phone call to Renewal by Andersen and we scheduled the time. Their rep showed up on the day and time he was supposed to, and walked us through the various items and door possibilities for what we were trying to replace. He was very transparent of the process in terms of what he thought were the better doors for that particular entrance. He gave the options we can look at and helped us decide. That afternoon, we ran everything up and called it a day. Then he scheduled a time for the engineer to come out to make sure the door was gonna fit the opening. It was a very simple process.
Two guys showed up four weeks later. They plastic off the area that they were gonna be working in, put the drop box down and proceeded to do the work around the door entrance to make the door fit. I had a storm door installed that's it's like an entry door. They were there for about six hours and were very efficient. They also did a very good job cleaning up.
We have a home that's almost 200 years old. I was worried because we have an old house and that we're gonna lose a lot of the moldings around the door itself. But they saved a good portion of the molding around the door. This guy had previous experience working with older homes so that came in handy because he understood how important it was for us to keep the moldings around the door itself and keep the authenticity of the house. They did a great job to establish what they could in order to put the door in and keep the aesthetic looking the way that they should. We saw a remarkable difference when the door went in on how it keeps the heat inside the house. It also fits nicely into the surrounding area of the living room. The overall quality of the door is really great.

Renewal by Andersen has a good name and I've seen a few things. I talked to people and contractor buddies of mine and they suggested that Andersen is who to go with. So, I got Andersen from the start when I built the house and I got a new set of French doors and a front door. The representatives I worked with were outstanding and they were accurate with everything in the timeline they gave me.
The installation process was great and the guys did well. It snowed a little bit in the morning and they got it out and then quickly. They also worked neat and clean. I found a couple of screws in the grass when the snow melted, but they wouldn’t have seen it in the snow. Plus, it seems like they warrant everything well. There's one thing I gotta call the guy who worked on my back door about as there's a wire issue. The door just came and threw the piston to hold the screen. All in all, although Andersen is pricey, it's been worth the price so far.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, John! We are so happy that you had enjoyed working with Renewal by Andersen! Enjoy your new doors!
