They are standing behind their product. I was called by a manager at Anderson window said they were going to do right by me. My problem was I didn’t talk to the right people in the company. They are going to replace the damage door by July 15. I am very impressed on the fast response of this issue so I guess I just want to say before you write a review go through all the channels and find the right person that’s going to help you. I just want to say thank you Charles for looking into this Matter and getting it resolved. Thanks again.

Not happy with the outcome. I Purchased windows in a patio door. The cost was over $27,000. I had a problem with the back patio door. It had a chip in it. They said they couldn’t fix it and they won’t replace it. I figured out why there was a chip. When it was installed the installer didn’t adjust the door correctly so I tried to get Andersen to fix the door. They said they couldn’t fix the chip, that it would have to be replaced and that I would have to spend over $1000 for replacement on one side of the door. I’m sorry but when you spend over $27,000 on doors and windows and they tell you that they stand behind their doors and windows and then they tell you you have to purchase another door to replace it because there’s a chip in it it’s a hard pill to swallow. If I would’ve known that they were going to do this I would’ve never gotten Andersen windows because they said they’d stand behind their doors and windows.
Good morning, Tom. Thank you for your feedback. I've passed your comments along to the manager of the location. They've left you a voicemail. If there is another number we should be calling, please let me know.

The initial process as far as getting a and getting windows installed quickly was great. We were very impressed by the fact that they were building an hour window frames right in our driveway brand new to put up. We thought, "wow this is great!" What a facade that all was. The installers installed our patio door backwards. When I mentioned to them that it looked weird, they blew me off as if I wasn't even there. I should have known then. We are about 18 months into owning our windows and had tried repeatedly to get them serviced and up to par for what we paid. I don't believe that will ever happen. When we did finally get a service guy out the guy was a condescending jerk.
Only half of our windows actually lock. And every time we've had someone come out to service them they never seem to have a problem locking them. But when I try, come on, they don't lock. They then tried to explain to me how to lock it as if I'm new to the world. Even showing them that they will not lock for me nothing is ever done. There shouldn't be some sort of trick to locking a window. The windows are incredibly heavy stiff and funny enough did not even come with handles. Those were an extra. On the day of install we were told that and it about blew my mind. The patio door that was originally installed backwards took 5 weeks to be re installed correctly and in the meantime had water leaking through the door. The frames are incredibly cheap even though you're told they're indestructible.
We had the bathroom window frame crack and a big chunk fall off just by opening the window. It then took several weeks for them to come even look at it and then several more weeks to get the part replaced. We now have the beautiful frames that were built for us literally falling off the wall just from opening the many blind. Not only does it fall off but it hit my husband in the face and he now has a large cut in welt on his eyelid. More of my windows do not lock any longer and all they tell us is to keep them locked when they're closed. And how exactly do you expect me to do that when they don't lock? This company is a joke. We financed the install so when we were calling for over 2 months to get a hold of them about the locks originally with no return call we contacted our finance company. They were also unsuccessful with getting a hold of them. Quite ridiculous.
When they finally did call us back we were already disputing the charges with our finance company due to the fact that they were not fulfilling their end of the contract by servicing our windows for life. It was a shame that it was only a few weeks after the install. We have had nothing but issues and are finance company is now eating the bill because I refuse to pay it. I will be taking this matter up legally because we are getting no resolution and I paid far too much for these windows for them to put these pieces of garbage In my home instead of the quality windows that I paid for.
Kristen, I've passed this information along to the GM of the location you worked with. They have reached out and left a voicemail on the number we have on file for you. If you need to update that number, please send it to me via private message. Thanks in advance.

The GM of the Milwaukee team did respond and has issued appropriate compensation. May still consider RBA for future replacement window needs.

Nice windows and they've worked out well in our 100 yr-old historic home, however the customer experience has been very dissatisfying. In particular:
1) Was told in person and in writing multiple times that quote included customer interior color. Sales guy called later to say that was a mistake. They wouldn't own the mistake and wouldn't even split the difference on the windows in question.2) Installation date had to be rescheduled twice on their account.
3) One of the windows was cut to the wrong size. Was told 3-4 weeks to get the correct one. 6 weeks later and still don't have it nor have received an update.
4) Wrong hardware installed initially on a couple of the windows.
5) And then install crew thought they were done, but 2 windows weren't installed. Three days went by and I had to finally call the "production manager" to ask when they were going to finish. He thought the job was done and he was hearing that for the first time... from me!
Hi Robert, I responded to you on Facebook as well, but wanted to let you know I've passed all your feedback and information along to our team in Milwaukee, including the owner/GM.

I contracted for installation and finishing (painting and staining) of all the windows in my house. Installation was good, after which they asked for payment. The next day was to be the finishing. The painters arrived, did some work, but left scrapes and chipped paint on and around every window, including walls where the tape ripped off paint. When I asked what was going on, the painters said that was the installers’ fault and not their job. I’m left with a mess.
Hello, Pat. Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. I will get your comments and images to the manager right away. Thank you, again, for sharing this. We will reach out to you shortly.

I called to make an appointment and was told that if my husband couldn't be there, I had to wait two weeks and was not allowed to have a weekend appointment or an evening appointment. I asked for a manager and she told me I should feel lucky because in the past they didn't talk to 1 spouse only. I was told that if someone better needed my time slot that we would have to reschedule. Especially if they scheduled the day before. It seems like they schedule you far out so that you forget about the appointment.
William, I am sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. While some of our locations are booking in advance, you certainly shouldn't be told that your time slot may be given up. If you'd be willing to message us with your contact information, I am more than happy to send this on to the appropriate manager to resolve the issue.

I would never recommend Renewal By Anderson. If someone would return calls it may help the situation. I have tried for 2 weeks to get someone to call me back. I've texted and emailed the salesman and got no response. I have returned a call to someone who NEVER picks up the phone number she left in the message and any messages I left for her, she has not responded.
Patricia, I am sorry to hear that. I can connect with the manager at your location and let them know you are trying to reach them. If you'd be so kind as to message us with any additional information you'd want relayed, I can pass that along, as well.

Our sales rep at Renewal by Andersen was great. We got 10 different windows for our house from them. We had two guys for our window replacement and they did a great job. They were very friendly and cleaned up. It was a very awesome installation. Now we have one fixed-picture and nine slider windows from Renewal and though they weren't the cheapest, they're great.

We had 16 new windows put in our house. Within just a few months 2 of them would not open. And now a third window won’t open. The clip on the side of the window broke on one that I know for sure. I was to have had parts sent that was almost a year ago and still no parts. According to the customer service rep it’s not their fault or worries. I would recommend these window to anyone after the way we have been treated.
Good morning, Tom. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your windows. But we are a full-service company, so we would not send a customer parts and expect them to handle the repair on their own. We take care of everything from start to finish. It sounds like maybe you purchased your windows from an Andersen dealer or retailer and had a contractor install? If I'm wrong and you did purchase from Renewal by Andersen, then please send me your contact information so that we can look into this right away. Otherwise, I'm happy to pass this along to our sister company, Andersen Windows, and their support team so they can look into it on their end.

A third of my windows arrived damaged. The manager from Andersen said they'd put the replacement windows on the fast track. I didn't hear anything from Andersen. After we were well passed the promised date I left a message with customer service (yes left a message because why would a CS team be available to speak with customers) my windows were magically ready for installation; unless an amazing coincidence it would seem the replacements were ready and no one was managing my project. A year later after starting a recent remodel project, my general contractor pointed out that Andersen installed a window in my shower using a wood frame; of course now warped and window needs to be reinstalled as a result. Since Andersen customer service doesn't answer phone calls, I decided to try emails. They don't answer those either.
Good morning, John. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience. I'm reaching out to the team right away and will have someone give you a call at the number you provided. We had a front door put in by Renewal by Andersen. They were very detailed and well within the limits that they established. My wife met with the person who was doing the advanced work. We set up an appointment with a person from the Renewal by Andersen, then they came out and showed us all the different options we had. The rep was very knowledgeable about the products he was selling and of all the different options that were available. They were able to superimpose the different doors on to a picture of our house, so we had an excellent idea of what the finished product would look like. The they set the appointment up for installation, and the guys did an excellent job. They were on time and courteous. There were very little mess and they cleaned up everything. They were very careful in what they did. We were very satisfied with the finished product. It was a very pleasant experience.
I wish I could’ve gotten one that was a little less expensive. But I also understand that if you want something nice, you’re gonna pay for it. And as long as I’m satisfied with the finished product, I’m willing to pay to have it done correctly. Renewal by Andersen was definitely a quality supplier. They did a great job, and I was 100% satisfied.
Steven, we're glad you had such a wonderful experience with us!

I have been involved in a 2 year battle with Renewal over a patio door they installed but do not fabricate (Provia). The door has never worked properly. Got a lot of lip service at first. Even called my salesman who wouldn’t call back! He already made his money. I have already. Mind you paid them approximately $10,000.00. The door blows open in the locked position and last month we found our dog was outside when we returned home and door was wide open! So of course I have been calling leaving messages and no response.
Well the other day I get notified I have been turned over to collections. So again for 2 days I keep calling and finally Scott calls back and tells me, “Pay your balance. We will take you out of collections and then fix the door!” Well that’s not how this is going to work Scott! First call to BBB, second call to the Consumer Reporter at News 8, third file paperwork with small claims court and fourth notify my insurance company what has transpired! I could go on with more but two quick things. I have pics and pics don’t lie and they will tell you they use their own people but that is not true. They use subcontractors!
Hi Bailey, I've passed your feedback along to the team just now and they will be reaching out to you today. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Stay tuned.

It started off with a pushy sales rep in our home who got us with the "save 20% by signing up NOW". We were impatient and agreed to have the 17 windows replaced for ~40,000$. Literally that night he leaves and I get the mail and there we have a flyer for the same 20% off that we could have used at any time in the next month and actually thought about our decision, but I guess that was our mistake.
4 months later two guys show up and begin to hammer out our old lead paint covered windows, taking minimal to no EPA-based lead precautions, starting with our 5 year old son's room, and with everyone in the house! My wife about had a heart attack. She asked "aren't you supposed to cover the windows first with plastic?" and the installer said "no we are taking them out from the outside, you don't need to do that" which is contrary to the EPA-based guidelines and the EPA pamphlet Andersen had provided us (as required by Federal law).
So, my wife says she is going to call the supervisor and suddenly the installer says, "Oh sure I will put down the plastic. You don't need to call him," but she calls the supervisor guy who spoke to the two installers and told them to take the proper EPA-based precautions. They then took some (put down plastic inside but didn't seal it over furniture. Just laid it, didn't remove any furniture, didn't have us leave the house/area, put some plastic down outside but still the yard is covered in lead paint chips, did seal the interior window with plastic but still took it down to vacuum from the inside, didn't wear plastic booties, etc. We witnessed this and called the supervisor again and he AGAIN had to call the installers and tell them to follow the protocol. We asked for the supervisor to come to the house and he said no he would come out tomorrow (all of this happened today)!
Overall, this has been a horrible experience. We are located in Swarthmore, PA if that helps you. We had a quote from Pella and apparently made the wrong choice. Not that I know if that they would have been any better, but I don't see how things could go much worse. I strongly advise against hiring Renewal by Andersen and want to stress you cannot trust the nearly exclusively positive reviews. I guess unfortunately we are the outlier. We feel taken advantage of and I want to protect other homeowners from these predatory and rather unsavory operators.
Hi Philip, thank you for taking the time out of your day to let us know about your experience. I will be passing your feedback along to the team right away. Stay tuned...

I liked the way that Renewal By Andersen advertised their products and they had better windows than other retailers. So, I decided to purchase from them. My interaction with their rep was good and he thorough when he was talking. Also, the installation was done pretty quickly and I was really surprised with that. The installers finished it in two days and they did a great job. The cost of the windows was a little spendy, but to me, it was worth it because I really like these windows. They are sturdy and they keep a lot of the outside noise out. Overall, there was nothing I didn’t like about my experience and I would tell others that Renewal By Andersen is great.

Renewal by Andersen was recommended several times to me and a representative came out and went through everything with me. We discussed the window and there was one other door that I was going to have replaced. She explained how I could save some cost by doing the finishing work myself with a new wood trim instead of hiring somebody else or having their people come in and stain it. She was upfront about the pricing.
I got two new patio doors and a custom window. I was told approximately when the windows would go in, because they had to be custom made. Their people came and the guys were fine. The crew came early in the morning, so they waited very patiently. I went to work and they called and let me know that the job was done. I came home and everything was done to my satisfaction. After they left, the guy said he wanted to come back at 3:30 and go over some stuff with me but he didn’t. It didn’t bother me though because everything was fine.

We had four double-hung windows replaced from the top floor with Renewal by Andersen products. The representatives from Renewal made the processing experience comfortable. They were very polite and answered all our questions. They have the products that we were looking for and had samples of everything I wanted to see. They were able to advise us on the decisions we were trying to make about removable pieces versus permanent, and the different materials used. I wanted to be able to compare and visually see in person at our home before we made our decision and that was helpful. The installation went well and it was completed within the time frame. The quality of the windows is excellent. Renewal by Andersen is expensive compared to other products but if someone is looking for something similar with what we got, I'd recommend them.

I had windows installed about 11 years ago but I didn’t stain them. They got damaged so I had to replace them. I liked the quality of the windows from Renewal by Andersen. A really nice rep came to the house and tried to get me the best deal she could because she knew I was a redo. I appreciate all she did for me. I replaced six windows instead of the original five because Renewal had a deal where when you get one, you can get the second for 400 off. The installers were nice guys and were very good. They were clean and respectful of my property. Even though I told them not to worry about the floor since it was a mess, they still put their tarps down. It took a little over half a day for the job to be done and I appreciate the work they did. I’m gonna do the staining of the windows this weekend.

We chose Renewal by Andersen over other window retailers due to their brand image and recognition here locally in Minnesota. We had them replace the sliding door. They gave us a timeline on how long that would take and they matched that timeline. So, it was two months from placing order until we got the door. The representatives were very professional and answered all our questions.
It was a one-day installation. I was a little disappointed that the first installation wasn’t going smoothly. The installer should have raised his hand at that point, but he didn’t. Then we saw a commercial and we realized that our door wasn’t opening that smoothly. When they came back out to check the door, they didn't argue but quickly said that they would get it fixed. So, they followed up nicely. They came back and replaced one of the doors which wasn’t sliding smoothly, then they also provided free staining for the whole door. The cost is middle-of-the-road. It’s a little higher than others, but you pay for what you get in the quality. If I need a window or another sliding door to be replaced, I would select and use Renewal by Andersen again.

Renewal by Andersen is a little bit more expensive but one of the best companies 'cause what they do is they come out, measure, make the windows and put them in. They don’t have all these subcontractors coming and going. In other words, they start right at the beginning of the job to the very end. Their rep was very professional and knew his stuff. He seemed really concerned to make sure everything was done right and then got back to me a couple of times to make sure everything was A-Okay.
I got two triple glazed slider windows in the bedroom, a patio door and then the living room window had to be custom-made because it was an oblong shape and was almost from floor to ceiling. They wanted to do it in February but here in the Midwest, we have a polar vortex which brings really cold weather with a lot of snow in February. So I said no and they waited until after it was warmer. Luckily, the weather cooperated when the installers came out. They did the two upstairs in the bedrooms in one day. Then they came back and did the other lower level the next day. They were here pretty much for a full eight-hour day and did an excellent job. Renewal by Andersen was well worth it and I would recommend them. They knew exactly what they were doing and the quality was excellent.

He demonstrated how the U.V. glass repels heat, and how smooth the Anderson double rollers work, and the quality of the Anderson line, he really knows his product.
The installers did a great job, they completed the removal & installed the new slider in just under 3 hours, did a great job on the out side caulking and complete cleanup, but I had one little problem, the style of the handles on the slider prevents the door from being opened to its max, you lose about 2 1/2 “because of the D shape. Looks Great but I wanted the extra couple inches so I contacted my sales rep Jeff, explained what I needed and he got right on it, called me back after talking with the manufacturer and came up with a couple of options to replace the outside handle and give us the extra 2 1/2”. I really appreciate the extra effort Jeff went to.

We've researched many different brand and companies to replace our patio door and what strikes me the most is when you call Renewal by Andersen, they refuse to give any prices even approximately on how much the patio door would cost, even after I provided rough opening measurements and asked for just rough numbers, just to have an idea about a range.
No wonder that they wouldn't give any information over the phone because now, that I see people's reviews and how much this company charges, it's insane! So after I called them twice and both times asked for an estimate over the phone just so I would see if their prices worth my time to schedule an in home consultation with them, they both times refused to give me any information whatsoever over the phone. So I moved on! And so I recommend you to go to your local Menard's or Home Depot, or Lowe's and get it arranged there. That's what I'll do - it will be cost efficient and still with a good quality.
Hi Kateryna, thanks for taking a minute to reach out about your experience with us. It's very likely that when you called, you spoke to our scheduling department. They do not have pricing information. And because our windows and patio doors are custom crafted to fit the exact measurements of each opening, we offer many different window styles, and there are so many features to choose from, you'll need to set up a free in-home consultation with one of our design consultants in order to get pricing specific to your project. During your consultation, you'll have the opportunity to learn more, ask questions, have your windows measured, and learn about special offers and financing in your area. After your initial consultation, they'll leave you with accurate window or patio door pricing good up to one year. Windows and patio doors are a big investment, and we want you to make the most informed choice available. Having said that, I am sorry for your experience and for the inconvenience this cased. I'll be forwarding your feedback along to the team in your area and want you to know we'll use your comments to better our processes. Thanks again for reaching out. They were very professional and they did a good job. Everything turned out good. The cost is high, but hopefully we have a good quality product.

I got into Rural King in Washington, PA and I did some pool shopping. There was a lady there that had a stand set up and she was doing some advertising for Renewal by Andersen. We happened to be looking into getting doors and windows at the time and I got the brochure off of her, then we made an appointment. We had five windows installed as well as three doors and two of them were modifications. They had to custom-make one of the doors that we got, so that took a little bit longer, but I’m not complaining. I’m extremely happy with it. We also had a great experience with Renewal's reps.. The salesman, Jesus, would check in on us and he’d give us constant updates. And the project manager was very friendly and he checked up on us as well.
There were two separate installations but the installers did everything except for the one door that was on backorder. There were six people and at first, they had it done in one day for the first round of work. You couldn’t even tell they were here. They were very clean and professional. The craftsmanship was also very good. I'm in construction myself and I can tell when I get a quality product. So far, we noticed a reduction in the draft from the doorways and we have a slight ant problem here but the ants can't get in anymore. So, that’s also a good thing. Renewal's reps did a good work and there's not one complaint I can find about them. When we get the funds for the next round, we'll be calling them again.
Thanks for taking a few minutes to leave us a review, Aaron! We will be sure to share your comments with the team...nothing like a happy customer leaving good feedback to start the week!

I had Renewal by Andersen replaced 12 windows in our home. The maintenance started getting too much because my home is getting old. Renewal was able to give me a timeline on how long everything would take, and the job was completed in that timeline. I had simple and easy interactions with the reps and the installation team. They were straightforward, easy to work with and polite.

I had two other windows installed towards the back of my house and we liked them so well. Andersen did some other windows long time ago and I decided I would like to stay with them. Last year, I had a fellow come out for an estimate. But at the time, the cost seemed rather high, and he apparently saved all my information because when I had called him back, not only did they do the five windows upstairs, but the two that they were gonna do last year. He was really appreciative that I called him back. We got five windows on my third floor and two on the first floor.
Renewal by Andersen gave me a specific date and they were here on that day even though it was a little bit chilly. The installation team was very good including the man that was in charge. He came in, explained what they were gonna do in each room, put all the material on the floor, covered the furniture even plastic up the stairs, took everything away, cleaned up extremely well. Everything was done by 3:00 in the afternoon. I like my new windows. I don’t like that I have to sand them down and finish them, but that’s no problem as soon as the weather breaks.

I liked the look and the guarantee of Andersen window. Also the salespersons were very professional and I was happy with them. They did their job in a timely fashion and completed it on time and left no trace when they were gone. They cleaned everything up really nice. They gave me a timeline of three to four weeks after the final measurement for the windows to be installed and they met every one of my expectations. They took the old windows out, got rid of them and had the new ones installed by the time I got home from work. They're beautiful garage windows. They're in the front of my house so they really add to the eye of what they look like. I got the windows for the curb appeal but they are also good quality. I was very satisfied.

I liked what Andersen had to say. I like their product and I like the vertical integration. And from start to finish, you go to them if there’s any issue. You also don’t have multiple contractors that you’re working with and I like that aspect of it. Plus, they build windows from custom measurements and they installed them. And if there’s any problem with the hardware and materials, I have confidence that Andersen will make it right. So, I went and purchased nine large windows from them. I spoke with Sean who came out and sold me the package. Then there was part of the installation crew that came out and did the final measurements. They were the actual installation crews themselves and they were excellent. I had a very good interaction with all of them.
They installed everything within one day but when one of the bay windows in the upstairs bathroom was removed, it was noted that due to the failure of the old window, the window frame and headers had experienced rot. So that window could not be installed until I contacted a stucco contractor to take down all the stucco sheathing and the frame after removing all the rotted wood. Once that was done, a new team came back and installed the final bay windows in the bathroom.
The second crew did an outstanding job. It was a very difficult installation and it was cold. There was snow all over the place. And Tom, the lead carpenter, took the time that it took to get the window leveled and to get the window installed properly. He did a great job. Renewal by Andersen was also very good in terms of rescheduling and coordinating with the other contractors. So, that all went very well. The windows cost a lot of money but time will tell if their quality is good and I’m really hoping that they hold up well.

I was pleased with Renewal by Andersen because they were gonna finance the windows and the pricing was right to me. We replaced nine windows with the mold for our business. They were very old and they opened out. They were glass so when they open and the wind blew, they would open out and smash against the brick building and glass would be shattered down on my sidewalk. I was very scared that someone would get hurt and I needed to take care of it, so I did.
I was so pleased with everybody. Everybody was very nice. The salesman that came and met with me from the very first time and to the end, was wonderful. The company installed my windows. They did the job exactly how they said it was gonna be done and how long it was gonna take. They got it done and then cleaned up everything. I was pleased with everything all around.

I bought windows for my house from Renewal by Andersen. They are the best windows available in my opinion. 90% of the windows I bought are sliders, two had to be crank-out and one had to be a double-hung. The windows I received were first rate. When we had Andersen out here 12 years ago, Russ came. He was a genuine, good man. When I answered the door this time, he also came out, and that was reassuring. Russ gave me the full spiel, described all the windows, all the financing and the construction, the timeline, and what kind of people were coming into my house to put in windows. He was great.
The installers were great. They were clean, thorough and well-mannered. I never saw them stop to take a break. They just went and went. Everything was perfect. They noticed that there was one ding in one window frame. It was a nick in the paint and had I found it, I would've taken a magic marker, touched it up and called it good. But they saw it and I’m getting the whole set replaced. Everything had to be perfect with those guys. I would recommend Andersen over anybody. They are the best I've seen.

I got a price on a vinyl installation from Window World and then I also got a price for my patio sliding door from Renewal by Andersen. The price was so close that there was just no decision on my part to go to the better product. It was a special order so I had to wait two months. And it was right on the money. When they said it would be there, it was there so everything was good.
The rep took measurements and went over all the products and colors and gave us a price. And then, once I decided to go ahead with it, I called whoever it is that schedules and the scheduled guy came out. He measured it closer to fine tune it and get it perfect. And then, when the windows came, that guy came also with sort of his installation crew, which were top-notch experts on everything they did. I've been in construction 40 years and these guys were perfect. I tried to hire them, see if they would come work for our company and do window installations, but they said no.
The sliding door is great. My daughter loves it every day. They had a French door so this is just so much better. I would recommend it to everybody. It's a good product It was one turnkey. They gave a price, tore the old out and did whatever they had to do to put the new one in. And they were timely and fair. It was a great job they did.

I liked the quality of Renewal by Andersen and I bought a picture window from them. The sales person answered questions and he was thorough but I have a problem with it now. People told me that I paid too much for this one window. I paid $3,000 for one window in my living room, and my mother just got windows from Wallside and she did almost her whole house for $4,000. I even had an inspector from the city come out here. He wanted to see if the job was done and he was surprised that I just had one window for $3,000.
I got taken on this one window and I called earlier about that. I complained that I'm unhappy and I'll make sure that I tell everyone that this company is not trustworthy. They said they will talk to the salesman and I didn't hear anything back. We love the window and it’s nice but I wouldn’t go with Renewal by Andersen again. Update 04/30/2019: RBA does not stand behind their promises which they advertise. The branch manager David R was very rude and when asked him to put down his proposal in writing he said he would do no such thing. Also told him I would put his conversation in my review and he said to go ahead as he didn’t care. I think you would be better off going with the main company Anderson. RBA simply does not care!
I believe strongly to help others be aware. I had about 12 windows installed by Renewal when we moved into our new home as there was wood rot. About $16000 worth. The rep that came in promised all the frames and wood rot would be replaced. Not knowing much about windows the project was done and a few weeks later my handyman told me none of the frames or wood rot was repaired. Got Renewal out again and we managed to work together and got full inserts done on 7 windows. About 4 years later we started getting ice on the inside panes of the window during the winter. Called and a rep would come twice here and there every year until 3 years ago.
I started taking photos so I had proof of it all. Then nobody would return my calls or even show up until finally last year I persistently kept calling and John showed up. He measured the gas and looked at the pictures and admitted that there was gas leaking. Apparently a defect with all windows that were manufactured that year. Finally got them to replace the windows but what they did is shocked me. They replaced the cranking windows with just new inserts (glass panes completed at factory). We have 1 picture window which the tech cut the existing glass around the frame and replaced it with new glass and caulking the glass. There was another small stationery window between 2 cranking ones - the same thing cut the glass and replaced it with new glass.

I already had Andersen windows, but the windows I had were 30 years old. They were my first choice when I was searching for windows. I like that the windows have the composite material and that the glass was thicker because I live by a noisy road. Talking with their reps was nice. Plus, they met all my needs and expectations. Moreover, the installation was completed within the timeline they gave me.
The quality of the windows was pretty good. But I had my kitchen window replaced two times because there were imperfections in the glass. There was a bubble or a nick in the first one. Then they brought another window. I was cleaning it and it had a nick. They were out in the truck and I ran back out to tell them that there was a nick in the glass. I told the guys that they should clean the windows after they peel the film off. They should do a final inspection before they leave the scene.

Handed me his card and then we sat and discussed each and every part of the process. He was there from 7:00 to 10:00. I had no idea how detailed they actually get. He went through everything with me. At the end I was shocked at the price. They are expensive but you are getting what you pay for.

I replaced 11 windows in a 115 year old home with Renewal by Andersen - $12K. On the day of installation, I was clear that the existing window panes were to be saved - they are original float glass I intend to use in kitchen cabinetry and are expensive too and almost impossible to source. Within minutes one of the crew had broken 2 panes. I stopped him, explained again and reiterated my concerns to the lead. Minutes later the same installer manhandled another window and broke it over his head! Blood everywhere - I had to bandage him so that he could go to the ER. Broken glass inside, outside, on furniture and yuck, blood all over my good shoes.
The remaining crew worked well past dark ... in the rain. Seems pretty stand up until you look at the trim and mantles. The finish work isn't complete and the mantles that were installed are at least 6 inches short. THREE months later the "replacement" mantles are still not installed because they are waiting on parts. My salesman was great, the windows are too. But the experience and final result have been poor.

I usually don’t do reviews but after the experience I had with this company felt it might benefit others. In Pennsylvania you have 3 days to cancel your order or pay hefty cancellation fee. In our case would have been $ 3500. For 5 windows we paid over $ 10,000. You do the math. $2000 window. We realized too late to cancel the windows. Yes they do subcontract. But are trained by the company to do the work. When they measure beware that they have a different way to measure. Three of our windows were 3 inches shorter. Now another 2 weeks to fix. If want a darker room with less light and the look of a smaller window this is for you. Make sure you have at least $10000 to $2000 sitting around your house so can buy them without having to finance them for for 10 years like us.

Please realize that most reviews are left shortly after the door is installed and the buyer loves the way it looks and operates. It is at least a year, or a few years later when you really figure out if the item was worth the price you paid. One year into a 5 year warranty, with a soft breeze our door swung open, the supposed "tempered glass" exploded and fell all of over our doorway. The frame holding the window, which is made of thin plastic broke at the section where it screws into the door. The gas powered shock that should have prevented it from swinging open so hard did not do its job.
I reached out to Andersen to find out their 5 year warranty isn't worth the paper that it is written on. The warranty only covers the parts from very particular manufacturer defects, the caveat is that it does not cover anything that is affected by external forces. External forces is such a comically vague phrase that it could be crafted to cover virtually anything that has any connection with how the door fails, such as wind, the elements, time, being opened too many times etc. This means that 98% of warranty claims can and will be denied based on this vague phrase. Many of the parts on this door are made of thin plastic and are NOT built to last. Do yourself a favor and buy a better brand!

Got a quote for more than $8,000 to replace a patio door, but the salesperson won't itemize the cost or break it down for the cost of the door, installation labor cost, etc. Bad experience when they won't provide details of the costs. Never had that experience, any reputable builder, remodeler, etc. will provide an itemized, detail breakdown of costs, for the door/windows and labor, etc.
The salesperson bragged about the expert installers who complete the job in 4 hours. So was the door really $7,000 and the labor $1,000, or was the door $4,000 and the labor $4,000 or??? Seems pretty suspicious and shady when they won't break down the costs for the door vs. labor. If you go to Home Depot, they WILL tell you the exact cost of the door and the exact cost of labor and will not lump it all together in one price for $8,000 without an itemized breakdown! My suggestion for an Andersen door is go to Home Depot, you'll get a better price and a more honest and detailed quote.

Our salesperson, Darin, seemed to be very knowledgeable and very personable. He assured me if we had any questions we could email him or contact Troy in the office for a quicker response... which turned out NOT to be the case. We were told by Darin that our current storms would leave a gap around the windows that would need to have cedar trim inserted if we wanted it to look nice. So we did that, to the tune of $1200. As it turns out, the installers have a wonderful sheet metal device that can make the trim any size to cover any gaps. They totally covered the gap that was filled with the trim wood, so we wouldn't have needed it after all.
Several of our windows are second story above garage, so I asked if I could have the trim delivered ahead of time so I could paint it without having to climb ladders. The answer by Troy was no (after a delay of 3 days). When the installers arrived, they said, "It's too bad you didn't have the lumber ahead of time to paint it." Darin did tell us that replacing the basement windows would make little difference in our heating as they are at ground level, so that saved us quite a bit of money. Overall the installation was smooth, and the windows look wonderful. The guys removed the shutters and vacuumed the wall behind them. So we're very happy with the finished product.
Thanks for letting us know about your experience. We appreciate the detailed explanation. I'll forward this along to the team in Colorado right away so they are aware.

The scheduling representative wouldn't finish the process until I provided her with personal information about my wife. They also wanted to make sure she was going to be present during the quote. They do not need her information nor does my wife need to be present for me to have my windows replaced. This was going to be a surprise for my wife since she has been asking me for years to upgrade our windows. I'm going with Pella windows.

I saw a few other windows at Home Depot like Harvey window, but I wasn’t crazy about them. Then, I got an advertisement in the mail from Renewal by Andersen and I called. A guy came out and I liked that he went through everything very thoroughly. He was very knowledgeable and very professional. The installation crew was great. They were polite and pleasant. They were very professional too and got right to work. They did not waste time and cleaned up after themselves. They did a wonderful job and I can’t wait to do the rest of my house. I love my windows. I have only put it for three weeks and I have noticed that my kitchen and dining room is a lot warmer.

We got a double-hung window from Renewal by Andersen. They gave us a timeline on how long the window placement would take and completed it within that timeline. The personnel guy was good. He came by during the installation and knew the product inside and out. I could tell that he has been with the company for a long time and knew everything. Then the installation went well. The crew was quick. When they left, I couldn't tell they had ever been here other than the new windows. There were no residues inside or out and there were just absolutely good windows where bad ones used to be.
However, with regards to the financing, I was under the influence that I had a security, a one-year no payment. Since then, they've changed the terms twice already where I'm getting out a bill now and then I'll have a bigger bill later on. I'm not definite I would have done the windows right now if I have known how the financing was gonna work out. I guess we'll be done paying for it earlier. But I only blame the company that Renewal by Andersen used for financing.

The rep that I dealt with from Renewal by Andersen was very professional. He was really, really good in what he does. He knew in fact what he was doing. He wasn't goofy at all. He just came and showed the product. He could sell anything. He was a nice guy, and he was really good. I got two windows and one sliding door, and I did the schedule with the installer. Once they scheduled it, they gave me a timeline of two days for the the job to get done. The guys who came to do the install were really good. They did it fast, and they cleaned it up after themselves. They did the perfect job. Once they were done, they showed me how to lock, unlock, and how to use and clean it.
I was gonna place more windows in my house, and right now, I got eight more windows that need to be replaced. But price-wise, it is impossible to do it because for the one sliding door and two windows that I got done, I paid almost $9,000 for three pieces. If I do eight more, that is gonna cost me over $24,000. It is a good stuff, but it is too pricey. But there is no question about the quality. It is 100%.

There was unexpected wood rot on the outside of the home surrounding 2 windows. With minimal delay, the crew repaired the area and replaced new clapboard ~ at no additional cost. The crew was professional, worked efficiently, and did an outstanding job. We are 100% satisfied with this recent installation, and would recommend Renewal By Andersen.

According to your sales rep, the 2 double doors being installed on Mar 14, 2018 were actual products by Renewal by Andersen, not some other company we had never heard of. We have contacted the service dept 1-505-881-3200 three times to fix the weathering strip or (whatever the material at the bottom of the door is) between the double doors & to determine where a black substance is coming from that has stained by wooden slat at the bottom of the door. The service repair person is very personable & prompt but it is very frustrating to pay approx $11,000 for 2 double doors & have the same problems over & over. If I would have been informed that the doors were not Andersen doors, I would not have agreed to pay $11,000 for these. Please explain.

I live in a condo and needed 5 windows and a sliding patio door replaced to standards set by our HOA. The sales rep was pleasant, NOT pushy, very informative and offered options, not just one choice. Another rep came to measure just a few days after that and gave me a lot of helpful information how to get ready for the installers, and gave me a very accurate timeline. The installers came just after one of the biggest snowstorms we've ever had in this area, they shoveled some icy snow off my deck that I couldn't manage myself (to have more work space), removed (and neatly replaced) some tubing covers on my back wall around the patio door, that were in the way of a complete window installation (I was told I'd be responsible for removing these, I had someone do what they could but couldn't get it all, one of the installers, Victor, said "No problem!" and took care of it very efficiently!).
It was very cold the two days the two installers were here (Victor and Valantyn), they were VERY polite, pleasant, conscientious, thorough, did their best to minimize the time with cold air coming in, completed everything in less than two full days, cleaned up SO well and took time to show me details of the new windows, patio door, how to remove them for cleaning. Even the woman who was my "case manager" called to check in before AND after the installation, I felt everyone was professional, followed through on what was promised AND I got a great discount AND I can already tell what a difference these wonderful windows are making, keeping it warmer inside, and quieter, too!! I am recommending them to anyone who asks, including my condo complex neighbors!

I had wanted to replace my patio door for several years but hadn't gotten around to doing so, so it was convenient for me to have a young man from Renewal by Andersen knock on my door and ask if I was in the market for windows/doors. All the windows and patio doors in my 34 year old home are Andersen and we haven't had any problems at all (except for the patio door we replaced) so I let him sign us up for an estimate.
The following day we received a phone call to schedule an appointment for the estimate. We were told the estimate/demonstration would take approximately 90 minutes (which it did), and that we both needed to be present (which we were). On the day of the appointment, the salesperson arrived on time. He was good at his job and the demonstration was very thorough. I never really gave much thought to windows and doors so I was happy to learn so much about the product, the installation, the warranty, etc.
The patio door we purchased was a standard 2 panel active/stationary door and our final cost was $4800. Six weeks later it was installed. The installation took approximately 4 hours. We had no issues at all from start to finish. Every employee we dealt with was considerate and knowledgeable about their job. The door turned out great, and I’m hoping to get another 34 (or more) years out of it.

We had two other companies come and give us quotes and the process was very straightforward. The sales person came to our house, measured our windows, and give us a quote. It's a Friday night and we just sat through a Renewal by Andersen sales pitch that honestly lasted over three hours. The first clue that this was going to be a waste of time was the fact that we had to ensure both my wife and I were both here for the presentation. Annoying but okay.
After measuring the windows we asked for the price. Nope. We had to watch the presentation. The kind of cheesy presentation that often accompanies the sales pitch for a timeshare. We had to endure a sales pitch, then presentation of literature. Then a video. We asked for the price. We were told that was next. Nope. Had to hear the sales pitch about why Andersen renewal windows are the best and everything else is garbage. So now time for the price. Nope. Another video. Then a presentation with an actual window he brought it. Look how it opens. Look how it closes. Then guess what, another video.
Then finally at around 10:30 at night (mind you he arrived at 7:30), the price. First it was almost 50 grand. But there were coupons and deals. However the best deal was a special unadvertised one-time only pricing, but we have to sign the contract now. The price was 36k. Now this was about 12 grand more than the other 2 offers we already received. Now I know every company and every window is different. Maybe we were willing to spend the extra cash for a better product.
We told the sales person we needed time to discuss this (plus we were getting one more quote this weekend). Again we were met with the strong sales tactic that this is a once in a lifetime only deal. He then pulled out a letter from the CEO stating this. We said for that much money we need time to think over. Well we were told if we don't sign a contract tonight, they will never honor the price again saying it's company policy. We were told it isn't fair to the other customers if we get this one time only deal again, but they don't. Here is a crazy idea, how about you treat ALL your customers with dignity and respect, and give them all that deal beyond that one time. That's because they are afraid you will go with another cheaper option, and they are trying to strong arm you into a sale.
We asked the guy to leave. But did he; no. We then had to hear how it's cheaper because we are saving the company from having to reschedule the appointment, drive back down, sign the contract, and drive back. Well rescheduling the appointment is not rocket science. You look for an open slot and put us in it. As far as signing the contract, whether we do it now or later, it still takes the same about of time. Now I do agree that driving to our house and back does take some time. But thousands of dollars does not justify an extra trip to and from our house. When we told the salesmen if he won't honor the price the following day or so after we had a chance to talk the response was, "This company isn't for you, this company is not for everybody." Really? So you basically said this company is only for people that don't want to weight their options and compare competitors products and prices. I wonder why that is.
What are they afraid of. I'm sorry but an honest and reputable company doesn't operate that way. Are Andersen Windows better? We will never know. After what we just experienced, not only will we never be buying a Renewal by Andersen window, but we are going to make sure nobody else we know has to be subjected to what we just endured without being warned first. Shameful.
Dav, thank you for taking the time to let us know about this. I'm very sorry to hear that your consultation was an inconvenience and not a pleasant experience. I have your information and will be passing your feedback along to the team in your area immediately. Windows are a big investement and we certainly want homeowners to do their research so they know what they are getting. The team will address this situation with the design consultant. Again, thank you for taking the time out of your day to fill us in on your experience (and giving us your Friday night). We wish you the best of luck with your home improvevment project.

So, had 11 windows, a patio door and front door with side window replaced. Placed order in July, work happened in October. Then it took another month for stainers to come, they found a glitch, another month for the piece of frame to be replaced, another month for stainers to return. Ok, so now patience is really being tried right? If that’s not enough, we find that cold air is coming through the windows. One window even howled during a very windy day. The tech just left and now all the trim work has to be removed so that the windows can be “re-foamed” as the foam initially used was faulty. Another day (maybe two) lost. A lot of vacation days have been used up for Renewal by Andersen (and thousands of $$$$). I do not recommend RBA.

Andersen will not replace the doors but rather wants the consumer to pay 50% of the cost for replacement. All my windows are Andersen and so far no problems. The project manager Bryce came to our house to give us a supposedly free quote. We were told the appointment would take 60-90 minutes. After 90 minutes of listening to how great their product was we began asking for pricing and he would begin again telling us how great their product was again and again. We asked over and over to give us prices and finally after 2 1/2 hours we finally got to pricing. He told us they were giving 20% off then was told if we made a decision tonight then there would be another 5% off but if we didn’t then we didn’t get the 5% because they drive all over the valley and needed to pay for that.
It’s too big of a decision to make a spur of the moment decision like that and to lose it because you have to drive around to do business. Crazy. The quote was emailed to me in one lump sum not broke down by price of each window. He told us we could decide to do it all at once or in phases. Phases are hard to do when you don’t know pricing for each window. At the end he said usually an appointment last 60-90 minutes but because of the very few questions we had the appointment took 3 hours but really was because he repeated himself over and over and over. If you have them out be sure to have a full day or evening because they take it. BEWARE.
Hi Debbie - first I want to thank you for taking the time out of your day to let us know about your consultation. You're absolutely right that windows are a big investement. We do want homeowners to do their research so they know what they are getting. We are full-service so pricing is more than just a window, it's the process from start to finish (and beyond). But I will be passing your feedback along to the team you worked with so they can track down your sales rep and he can provide a more detailed explanation of your project's pricing information. You're definitely right that it's difficult to imagine phasing out a project without more specific pricing. Thanks again for letting us know your feedback, Debbie. Basically he rang my doorbell about 7 pm, it was clear I was home with my car in the driveway and lights on. He rang my doorbell again and again. I didn’t answer because I didn’t want to. Then he started POUNDING HIS FIST ON MY DOOR! Like I was obligated to open my door or he wouldn’t leave. I was angry about it but treated him with respect saying, “No thank you. I'm not interested.”
He then glared at me and waited for me to shut the door before moving from my front porch. It may not have been malicious but I’ve never had someone beat on my door like that it was terrifying. Please educate your salespeople to conduct themselves in a non threatening manner. If I see him in my neighborhood again I’m reporting him to our city code enforcement and police department because that behavior is not welcome in my neighborhood!

We purchased windows from Renewal by Andersen. They had to be done the way the association wanted it and exactly the way the old windows were. It took them three days to replace the windows. Then the windows had to dry for a while and then the painters came. The timeline was very precise and it was exactly as they predicted.
Renewal by Andersen also gave us the option that part of the house would be done first and then the next part. It didn’t have to be all in one thing. And so, I opted for half of my windows and those were seven windows of two different sizes. I had that done in full, and then I waited until Spring since I like to pay cash. Now, we are in the process of getting the second group of windows and a patio door done.
I love the installers. They were well-trained and very polite. They talked a little but only when it was regarding their work. They're industrious too and did not take breaks in between. They worked and worked. It was a pleasure to work with them. The rep was excellent too. There were choices, like if I wanted to pay off right away, or if I wanted to pay later. I was impressed with the sales rep's professionalism, knowledge, and friendliness. The person was at ease and we had a nice conversation. My husband and I felt that he honestly represented both Andersen and us. Then, we had two gentlemen that came for the installation. One gentleman had his own company and he was very polite, very nice, and thorough and knew exactly what he was doing. I watched every step because it was interesting.
The representative said there would be a lift, though, because they don’t let their workman be put in a dangerous situation but there was no lift used, which surprised me. But I have nothing against them. They worked all day long. The painter that came later was equally very nice, polite, and very professional. He did a beautiful job. Their reps were all very nice people and their finishers did a beautiful job. They were very courteous and they covered everything. Their workmanship is beautiful too. Andersen has been worth the money I paid.

Renewal by Andersen replaced our double hung windows two months ago. They were able to complete it in the timeframe they gave me. Although, they are coming back out to do a service follow-up today on a problem we are having. Our interaction with their reps had been good. We used them before at another house and I dealt with a whole bunch of different people. But, they sent the wrong crew out to do the installation so whoever coordinated the installation did not do a very good job. After a bunch of phone calls though, they straightened it out and everything went well after that.
Thanks for taking the time to share about your experience with us. We are pleased to hear that you had a pleasant experience, other than the mishap with scheduling installation. Glad to hear that it was straitened out and proceeded smoothly!

Had a great experience with the sales rep. We agreed to purchase 4 sliders. He walked us through all of the processes of them building the doors and coming to measure and setting up actual installation. Initially we thought installation would have been early January, but it was moved to mid February. We were then asked if they could install 2 weeks early. We said yes. It was to be a 2 day project with 5 guys. Day one they come, it's 2 guys who get to work immediately! Super nice hard working. About an hour in another guy shows up and he jumps right in... They did 3 doors in the first day.
The 2nd day 2 guys come and finish the 4th door and all the finish work. They never stopped they kept the work areas neat and clean and only stopped for their lunch break. My husband and I were so impressed with how they worked and their diligence and the overall job they did!!! They were a crew out of the Boston area and Russian... I only mention the nationality because I can't remember their names... I wish I could hire them for other work I needed done. Overall so far a wonderful experience!!!

I had a couple of people come out but I liked Renewal by Andersen's the best. Plus I didn’t worry about the cost as long as I could afford the payment. I got a picture window, sliders, and the double. But they were not able to complete the job within the timeline they gave me. They were supposed to come back and put my slider in, but the contractor said he was short on help. Then it was just one thing after the other. But even though we had that little bump in the road, I’d recommend them. I liked the window and the quality, and I’m satisfied. I also really liked the representative I worked with. He was really nice and I was impressed with his knowledge.

Around 8/2018 I got 13 SilverLine V3 series installed in my home. I am in Ohio and last month we were in a deep freeze. I am having the same problem with my windows as David of Cambridge, MN. Windows being wet and some freezing. I did not get these from Andersen direct. I got them from a Dealer in Cleveland, Ohio. I contacted him to explain and send pictures of the problem. He sent an email to a guy named Tony. Never got back to the dealer. The email was sent 1-31-19. I told the dealer how unhappy and disappointed I was in these windows and no service. He sent another email to a Ryan 2-7-19. No response yet. I see on other pages of Consumers Affairs. That several people have this air leakage and wetness and freezing problem. Looks like Andersen says it is normal in most cases. That cannot be true. Maybe all of us should get together and file a class action or something to wake these people up.
Hi Iggy: It sounds like you did not work with a Renewal by Andersen retailer, but instead Andersen Windows. But just to make sure, I'll have our Cleveland team give you a call. Can you tell me your phone number please? Thank you.

I've had good experiences with Renewal. They have better windows compared to others. They've done three jobs for me. The last time I had them replace four windows. It was supposed to take a day and it ran a little bit over. But that's because it's an old house and he ran into problems. He just came back to finish up one window. I've had the representative before and we're old friends now. He was the one I had gone to each time and he was good.
The installer had to rebuild part of the frame, and that wasn't expected. I wanted him to do a thorough job, and that was what he did. And he explained everything to me as he went along. They all did a very good job. They were very thorough and they came when they said they would. I'm very happy with my windows. They're beautiful.

The installers were very efficient and had it in in no time. Everything is working now and so far, the quality is good. I was well satisfied with everything. I had a patio door, which I had had for years, replaced. Then I had some windows replaced and as the weather gets better, I might have a couple more windows done.

Update on 02/09/2019: I just want to add to my original post, that my windows are 2 years old. The drafts I’ve experience are from day one. Service came out and put little black foam in all the corner less than a year after I had them installed. Needless to say, it wasn’t a permanent fix. Was told this last time that they have different things & the first guy should of used them. Now with all my gaskets going to be replaced, I was told that they are “better made” & will fix the problem. My question to that is, why weren’t they used to begin with? The ones in there now are flimsy & weak. Then I was told my sills have dust & dirt on them & that can cause not getting a tight seal! Really? What window, with no storm window, exposed to the elements isn’t going to be dirty? When I told him that the worst window NEVER gets open, he had no more excuses.
If nothing else, I hope that by reading my posts, you come away rethinking your thoughts on purchasing Renewal by Andersen. The last service guy even told me “We’re not Andersen. We custom make our windows.” Well guess what, so does Andersen! If you’re going to use their name, YOU ARE ANDERSEN! Over priced under value. Did you know they DONT HAVE A LIFETIME warranty like everyone else out there? Do your homework before buying any windows.
Original: If you live in the Midwest or cold climate this is NOT a window you want to spend money on. Trust me, I did and regret it. On February 5th, at 8:23 AM, a representative from Renewal, Stan, came to my house to address the window issues I'm experiencing with all 16 windows. He determined that ALL gaskets (upper and lower) need to be replaced to correct the air infiltration the windows are experiencing. He agreed that there is not enough tension to the locks when engaged and that is the reason for all the problems.
I have had Andersen windows in this house since it was built in 1983 and it wasn't until 33 years later that I had to replace them because the weather stripping and frames were failing beyond repair. During all those years, I had NEVER experienced anything like this and we have had many cold winters during this time. I am less than impressed and would never recommend or purchase from anyone associated with Andersen or its subsidiaries.
To think that after only 1-1/2 the GASKETS need to be replaced is beyond comprehension. And to be told that I have a very good warranty and they should be replaced every 2-3 years is beyond ridiculous. There should be zero maintenance to the frame and its components for at least 20 years not every 2-3! I have an Andersen crank open type skylight and it does NOT get the condensation build up on it or have its gaskets replaced EVER. These windows are the reason I replaced my old ones, new and better, but they are worse than what I had for all those years. At least I could accept the condensation for their age and failing. There is NO EXCUSE for these. If you want to see my pictures go to https://www.facebook.com/renewalbyandersenchicago/ (Facebook page). Don't believe their hype when they come to pitch the quality and at the same time bashing the competition. The sell like the old stereotype of a used car salesman.

Renewal by Andersen is considered the top of the line and I had heard great things from homeowners about the windows and how well they were produced and how courteous the staff was. I was given the information by requesting it from users and I found out when I used Renewal by Andersen that everything that was said was true. They also had a showroom in Livonia, which was convenient for me.
I’ve called our salesperson each time and he was very courteous. He also had the ultimate product knowledge. After the first time, when he got the half-hour presentation and all the samples, I told him to get to the windows on the second visit and that I didn't need a sales talk because we were gonna do it. I also told him that I would pay half for the down and half when they complete it, so he didn't have to push me on the one-year. He backed off a little, although he wanted to tell me how good it was. I said that if I was gonna get one-year interest-free, then I was gonna pay it all at the end, I would have that hanging around. I don’t like things hanging around my neck. I’m a go-now, do-now guy, and he worked with me on it.
I came on a three-part plan. I did a whole bunch of windows the first time, but I did a bit less the second time, and I’m gonna be doing the last two windows on the third. Then, I’m gonna save for number four because it is gonna be expensive. I have an 11-window home, which is a beautiful colonial in Canterbury Commons, and I wanted it to sparkle. The windows I got are just like a dream. I got the cut-ups and they are inside the window. The windows look smashing and they are put together. I’m already seeing savings on the coldness with the use of the windows that I have. They’ve been here two times doing a good job and they were able to start and complete their work, two men each in one afternoon or one day. When the guy came for the final measurement, he gave me the date. We were told by our salesperson that it was gonna be around five months away. He had given me a sales job and I told him the date was very good.
We have the windows and I didn’t go very far off-field. I got a lot of standards, white frames and white windows, and white hardware. I didn’t make it difficult for the factory in Minnesota. As far as the kitchen window, we have a view window for my wife and she also loves the awning window. My wife was having a problem with the dinette window and it is pretty large. She was gonna surprise me one day and she got the window open because we could get it open and we could do almost everything from the inside. However, she couldn't figure out how to get it closed again, so we called the office again, but they didn’t have anyone that was in the neighborhood they could shake loose.
Brandon, the general manager, was listening in to the receptionist trying to find a truck. He lives in Fenton and he said that he would come over. He did and he was super great. I asked him why he was making that call and he said, “Because customers are supreme.” He is a pleasant man and I could see why he is the general manager of the year. If I had a company, I’d hire him in a moment.
I hear other people telling me what they did and I also hear that the windows freeze up on them, however, I don’t expect that with Renewal by Andersen's windows. I expect to pay a bit more and I’m probably paying around 12% to 15% more than the Livonia company, but it is worth it. Renewal by Andersen won’t get a complaint from me.

We have an old farmhouse and my dad had put in some Andersen windows 50 years ago. They held up for a long time. They would probably still be holding up if there wasn’t some goof when they put aluminum siding on a couple of them, that were in pretty bad shape. What happened was the aluminum siding was covered over the sill, but they didn’t put any drain on there in case any water got in. The aluminum siding over the sill got water in it and it rotted it out. And so, the whole bottom part of the window started to go to heck. Now, new Andersen windows don’t use wood anymore like that and that was what forced me to replace these windows.
The sales team have been really nice. They recognized that there was a goof in the window and they were fixing it as they go. But then there was a detail somebody missed, and then we had another problem. But I’m comfortable with it. I’m pretty sure we’re gonna get this all straightened out pretty well. I'm also having problems with the payment system. What sold me was the two years with no payments, no interest. And although I had to have it paid off by that time for 10 grand, I had basically four windows installed. I said I could nickel and dime it until it comes up toward the end and then I could just wipe it all out. 10,000 isn’t all that much. But we didn’t have it the right time, then they got it the right time, then all of a sudden I got payments to make which I’m not supposed to. That was the only goofy part about it, but they were working on it the last I knew. I’m confident they will get the payment situation straightened out.
Also the windows and the installation work were top-notch, absolutely beautiful and high-quality. They did a very good job in a very short time and kept the place very clean. They are expensive windows, but they’re damn good. One was a large picture window. Another one was a not quite large picture window, but a open large swing window, and the others were the usual up and down windows. I’m very happy with it. I love the windows.

A very nice, personable, and informative sales rep came out to our house to give us a bid on a front door with simple sidelights. (Renewal by Andersen is our local ProVia dealer.) After almost two hours at our home, he finally got down to numbers. Even after 'discounts', they wanted over $17,000 for a front door! We would be happy to pay a reasonable premium for a good product, but $17k+ is an outright scam. For reference, other bids for very good doors have been around $2,400. They know that most people will not pay this amount, but it only takes a few who don't know any better, and they'll still make a profit. Randomly the next day, I was visiting a local window dealer (not RBA). In short, the guy there told me that he gets stories nearly identical to this one about every 2-3 days regarding Renewal. It's their business model. Run away. Avoid it like the plague that it is.

Obviously they don't care what I want. So the question I have, why would I ever be stupid enough to do business with a company like this that from the very beginning of the relationship has demonstrated they don't give a crap about what I as a potential customer wants. I was very pleased with my experience with Renewal by Andersen. In my living room, there were four doors used as windows. They had been there for a while and they were clouding up. They were not effective anymore. So, I contacted the Renewal people after I got that flyer in the mail. They came over and they gave me an estimate. We talked about different things and we went forward from there.
I got those windows replaced. They said it would take eight to 10 weeks. It was okay, but the only little downside was when I first talked to them in October, they set the install date for December 22nd, which was the Saturday before Christmas. That's usually the day I give a Christmas party, so I gave it the week before. And it was fine. The people who came to do the install were excellent. They came and were very organized. They took out the old windows, put in the new windows, cleaned everything up, and were gone by about 3 o'clock in the afternoon, which was very nice.
I love the windows that I got. When I told several people, including a contractor who does work at my house, what I paid for the replacement windows, their jaws dropped. It was a substantial investment. It ended up costing me $13,000 to replace four windows and that's pretty heavy. But I'm pleased with the product and that's why I really didn't do much comparison shopping because I know it's a good name. I was also impressed with the professionalism of the people that I had contact with. Everything was handled very satisfactorily.

He was very informative about everything and he helped us make a decision. We may have had a couple of changes along the way, but he got all that done exactly how we wanted it. They installed the double-hung windows and they were done in two days.
The installers came Monday before Thanksgiving. They talked about what they plan on doing that day and they said they thought they could get through most of the windows on the first day. After that, they started working, taking the windows out one by one. One guy took one out while the other one put another window in. They worked their way around the house and got almost all of them done in the first day except for the bay window. On the second day, they just concentrated on getting that done. Well the pink copy of what we ordered doesn't even mention type of glass but I was very vocal that it was to be frosted glass. The rep called us and he was saying he wasn't giving us the frosted glass because he is very careful to get the order right. So basically he is right and we are wrong and there is nothing we can do about it.
He also said we can go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get the sticker for the window and they have more designs. Well, I don't want a sticker on my glass. Never in a million years would I ask for clear glass in a bathroom. I am really so disappointed because these windows are expensive and being slapped down by the sales rep was the worse feeling. Within 24 hours, somebody followed up with me to schedule an appointment. Their sales representative came out that week, and was really professional. He walked through all sorts of different options on his tablet.
He also was able to give some recommendations around what would look good with the style of the house. Within an hour, we quickly came to a decision on what front door and he took some preliminary measurements. Then he set the right expectations upfront, that we would be a few months out before they’d be able to actually do the installation, just because of how busy they were, which was fine. He also said someone would be contacting me to set up an appointment when the door would be ready, and to set up an appointment for installation.
We talked through the payment as well and we talked about how much needed down. We took care of that. I didn’t expect them to contact me until January of this year, but they contacted me a little bit earlier. I was able to set the appointment up with the scheduler just after Christmas and then, the individual that did the installation and his partner came out and did the installation. They were very professional and the door looks great. I would have liked to get the door faster, but I understand they have to like manufacture it.
There was one little weird thing with the handle. To open the door, we had to tilt the handle up versus down. He needed to order a part to get that fixed so that he could install the correct handle. He thought it was gonna be the week out before he would receive the part. Sales pitch did involve pressure in that the best price was only available if you acted now. We were told the price was all inclusive, and we asked and were told there would be no additional cost several times, but we were charged an additional $3,000+ because some rot was found in a few places. We ordered the Windows in early October but the job (9 windows) wasn't started until late December and was not finished (almost) until the end of March. This resulted in significant work rescheduling on our part not to mention heating oil costs due to all the time the house was leaking heat. It appeared that other customers had a priority over our $30,000+ job. I say "almost complete" because we didn't get the last screen delivered until July.
Overall, it was an extremely unpleasant experience. There was a lot of leaking around one of the new Windows because, I was told, the "standard installation procedure" relied on completely watertight siding and because some water got behind the siding above the window, the seal around the window leaked terribly even though there was no leaking before the window was replaced. It was eventually fixed at no further additional charge but it took some arguing. Of the nine Windows replaced, only two were done without any additional charges. Although I am happy with the Windows themselves, that's the only reason they got two stars, I will never deal with Renewal by Andersen again nor can I recommend them in good conscience. Updated on 03/01/2019: I am back! Like I said before stay away from Renewal By Andersen. They sent out another employee and went through the same moves. Three weeks later, to no surprise the company said it wasn’t their windows but the house. In their explanation they also mentioned about reading the booklet on condensation. Funny thing is we never received any sort of booklet until after the fact. The company is bogus and they sell ** windows! Just my opinion! So before you buy windows please shop around and stay away from RENEWAL BY ANDERSEN.
Updated on 02/01/2019: Renewal by Andersen commented on how they wanted to rectify the problem. So we gave them the information that they requested about how to contact us. Still haven’t heard from the company. This is a bogus company with a bogus product. Today we woke up and instead of condensation we had ice. DO NOT BUY THEIR WINDOWS! Run fast and far! We paid a lot of money and for an inferior product. No pun intended but that was money thrown right out the window!
Original Review: The windows are cheap and they don’t work. Called the office in our area and no help. We called their hq in Minnesota and no help. They called the office in Middletown NY and they sent the same person and did the same inspection. They tried telling us it wasn’t their windows but our house. They told us what to do and we did still condensation! DO NOT BUY FROM RENEWAL BY ANDERSEN!! Run far and fast! We have Andersen windows in one of our buildings out back and we like them. Then we got six double-hung windows when they had a great special for the fair that we waited for. The reps were very thorough and explained everything that was gonna happen and followed up afterward how everything turned out. The installers were very clean, respectful and they got the job done in one day. Also, the painter who came in afterwards to do the touch-up was really nice. Everything was terrific and I love the quality of the windows. I'm a very happy customer and I will recommend them to anybody.

When Tom from Renewal by Andersen (RBA) came out to give us an estimate he was polite and professional, but from that point on everything was a cluster. We were informed that we were approved for $7,000 that the window job would be $3,600 for 4 Windows which I thought was expensive but Andersen is "supposed to be" good windows. If I had read these reviews before ordering I NEVER would have ordered!
The contract was signed November 30th and the loan was pulled out by RBA on December 4th. Installation wasn't even scheduled until January 23rd and we're already being charged interest on a loan for products we don't have and informed that payments would not be expected until a month after installation. Several calls later by me, I was informed that there was nothing RBA (John) could do, even though their contract states a late cancellation fee of 25% of purchase price. This is absolutely the worst sales experience I've ever had in my entire 47 years.
When I called Tom, he referred me to his boss, John, which took another two days for a return call, and I was informed at that time there was nothing he could do because the product was already in his Warehouse, when I informed him of page 5 of the contract stating that 25% of total bill could be paid to cancel the order he said he didn't understand and ask me to explain it to him three times.
When I called the contractor I was informed that the windows were made by J&M windows in Pennsylvania and would be installed by someone other, neither company was RBA, and their offices were closed before 4:30 p.m. If this is the level of respect and professionalism that RBA is capable of, I will never, ever do business with them.

I have family that have used Renewal by Andersen before, and it was really good quality. From the point I met with somebody and ordered the sliding door until it was installed was five weeks. The installation took four hours. The sales rep showed us the various types of doors that they offered and the various hardware that you could pick. They thoroughly went over what the different doors were made of, their finishes, how the install goes and what they do. They explained everything really well. The installation team was really nice too. They were trio of guys and seemed to know what they were doing. You could tell that they’ve done it before, which I expected but was nice to see.

We are in need of new windows here in our 30 year old home in Freedom NH. Then one day recently we received a mailer saying that we could receive a neighborhood discount, so I called and set up an appointment. We only wanted to replace what we could afford and we decided on replacing 5 windows. He would just do that. He insisted on measuring every window in the house even though there are only 2 sizes. Well all said and done when he showed us his iPad with the total we almost fell over. SIXTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. I said, "Sorry for wasting your..." It took him two hours to give us the quote. The windows were impressive but do not think they're worth the price of a new automobile. That quote was for 4 double hung and a box window replacing an existing dual double hung. We just wanted a price for the windows when he showed up but no, had to do the spiel so he wasted two hours. Very nice gentleman.

We had Andersen windows before so we tried to stick with the same company. They came out on Black Friday. We went over the pricing on the windows, what they had available and we made our choice and selection. They were out a week and a half later and did the measurement for the windows. Everybody was polite, courteous and handled everything in a timely fashion which was great. They told me it'd be a two-day install. We have a one-and-a-half-year-old and a three-year-old and they were here with two teams and got it done in five hours. We have the windows in already. However, there were some scuff marks, scratches on some of the frames. So, they’re coming back out to see if they can either clean those up or if they have to replace the frame. So far, everybody has been fantastic. We already gave our friends the information to consult for their windows.

Waited 12 weeks for a 'standard' sized door that did not fit my old Pella enclosure. Installer had to insert a 2" piece of wood on top portion, but due to light switches on side he couldn't extend the molding. The installer even stated that he could make it work but the door should have been measured to fit, and didn't. He didn't finish the agreed upon work, including adding the door stop lock stating, "No need to install because I'm sure I'll be back to install a new door correctly". Reached out to Andersen numerous times but with no response. Customer service did say that someone would contact me that day... No one did as this happened repeatedly. Went with who I thought was the best and stand behind their work... Should have just gone to Home Depot and bought one of their standard stock doors and would have been just as happy and not out $3,800 for just a door! Disappointed with Renewal by Andersen.

We bought 7 windows with the contract for 4 other windows that Mike said we had till 2020 to get for that price he said it would not go up. We had Mike come out to get the other 4 windows done. He informed us that it was going to cost us $544.00 more for the 4 windows. We refused to pay the extra money so Mike got very upset because we wouldn't pay it then he said we could have it for the original price. We did not buy them.
Now to the original windows ordered them April 2018. We did not get them till Oct 20th. They came to install the windows. John the contractor did a good job but he was training 3 other guys. They messed up all 5 of the windows they put in. Had to have another guy come out finely to fix them. They made 2 windows with only 1/2 screens were double hung windows ordered with full screens.
Yesterday another guy said he had my screen came out with 1/2 screens AGAIN, said he would order full screens for the third time!!! We don't know if we will ever see our screens and we pray that we don't ever have any other problem with the windows, we have talked to at least 16 different people trying to get the windows fixed. 2 windows came damaged. They said they weren't leaking so they are not going to fix them. This is the worst company we have ever had to deal with. Please do your homework and check all the reviews on the net. We found 100s of them after we bought the windows. Would not recommend this company for anything.

I had some bad windows in my house from the day it was built and I wanted to replace them. I finally got around to it economically to be able to do it. It was a very expensive proposition. You have to do a little bit of research before you enter into something like that. Renewal by Andersen has a good reputation. I talked to them a couple of times at various home shows and decided to go with with.
I had two different teams. The first time, I had more than 13 double-hung windows done. I had the team come in and I watched them. They were like beavers. They did a great job. Each person knew what their job was and it was like clockwork. They were in and out of my house replacing a lot of windows in one day and I was very happy with that. All of the interactions with Renewal had been good, and that was why I called them back a second time to replace some large stationary windows in my living room. I had the glass replaced by a glass company a couple times, but I'm just gonna go ahead and get Renewal to do that. Every window in my house, with a couple of exceptions, was done by Renewal. It has been a good experience.

When we built our home 40 years ago, we had Andersen windows installed and we were very happy with those windows. And those windows were still in the house when we sold it two years ago. It’s still airtight. The salesperson that came here also did a very good job. I like the quality of the windows and since I had them installed at our other house 40 years ago there’s been some major upgrades in technology so we’re very happy. They do an excellent job on the installation.
We bought our house two years ago. It’s an old farmhouse built 1965 and everything in the place was original. We had to tear everything out and replace. The old windows were single pane and drafty, so we had to do something. We did it with Renewal and so far, so good. Their timeline was right on. They said it would take two days which surprised me because this was winter. They also said the person that was coming in doing the staining, that would take a few hours, and they were spot on. The first day, they did all but three windows and the door. Those items had to be totally removed and installed. The others were just a removal of the old window.
We asked a lot of questions and the rep was here an hour and a half. He did a real good job of showing us the differences between a single pane, your normal double pane windows, and the windows that he installed, like about the heat loss. He had some device that actually measured on a meter how much heat loss is going through in the windows, which we ultimately purchased. It’s not a complete job, but still, they didn’t have to touch the woodwork on those windows. And the siding was no factor. With their measurements, they were able to remove everything and install the new with no damage to the siding. I was wondering how they were gonna do that, and it must have been just because their measurements were so accurate. And as far as the workmanship inside, they had floor coverings all over. They were very cautious of doing any kinda carpet damage and the cleanup was virtually spotless.
The quality is excellent. The house is quieter and we definitely don’t have the draft. It’s gonna be so much more comfortable in the winters. And maybe we’re gonna have a total recovery of what we invested in 10 years. The comfort level right now is well worth the wait to recover your savings. We put on Facebook how happy we were with our new windows by Renewal by Andersen and we got a number of comments. A couple of people responded to us that they had the same experience.
Thanks for the awesome review, Dean! We are so pleased to hear that you are satisfied with your experience with our team. Thanks for taking the time to share!

There was no high pressure. He took his time and helped me on different things that I wasn’t sure of. The installation people were all very pleasant. And for the timeframe, they were ahead of what they said they were going to be. I was used to the two window look and there was one large window with a divider in the middle of it. Now, I have one huge window so I can see a lot more. When I walk by, I can see the whole backyard and my neighbor’s backyard. Renewal was great and I would recommend them.

I recently completed a renewal project for a bedroom, and my motivation for doing so was to reduce some of the noise through those windows, primarily one facing the backyard and an access street behind it. I was assured by the sales rep that these windows would be much quieter (I was given perception of 80-90% reduction and I was personally hoping for at least 50%). The bottom line is these windows don't reduce sound at all (ZERO) and are no better than the original windows in this regard. The replacement windows may be a higher quality, but my entire purpose for the project was to reduce sound, or I would have spent that money on a different home project, so this is been a very large waste of money. I'll give two stars instead of one because the side windows allow more light in, but I could have changed for that purpose much cheaper.
I was provided surveys about the installation only, not the product, and I wasn't going to ding the installation team, because they were professional. But I will ding the product and sales rep - who should have known the product better and been much more honest about it upfront. I would NOT recommend these windows for any sound reduction.

I had seen Andersen install before and I had been involved in the replacement of windows in a commercial building that I own. We compared Andersen and a couple of other windows, and Andersen was by far and away the better product. So when it came time to replace the windows in my house, that was what I chose. We got new windows and everybody was very good about contacting me in advance and letting me know what would be done and what I needed to do. It all went very well. The rep I worked with explained everything.
The installation process was very easy. They said it was going to take a couple days and they did complete the job in that timeline. They came in and did the setup first. Then they took out the windows and replaced them. It all went very smoothly. They also cleaned up after themselves very nicely. There is one little thing that I’ve noticed in my bathroom though. The handle latch on the window is a different color than the window. But I have been really busy and haven't gotten around to calling my contact person there. That aside, the quality of the windows is good so far and I would recommend Renewal by Andersen to anybody who would ask about them.

He was a little new but he was more thorough. His first visit to our house was three hours. He tried really hard and he did a good job.
We had a single window in our living room done. It's a huge window that is 130 inches across, so they had to custom build it for us. We were given a time frame and they were early, so that was good too. The installation took only a couple of hours. They were really great, professional and awesome. They had put a nail in kinda crooked and they pointed it out and asked me if I wanted them to redo it. They were very honest, which I appreciated, and we thought the quality of work was great. It's funny that we have had several people come visit who drove by the house because they didn't recognize it. We really like our window done by Renewal by Andersen.

We have Andersen Windows in the house since it was built and when I needed a replacement of the sliding door, I naturally went to Renewal by Andersen. They gave me a timeline that they would not be able to schedule for three months. Then from start to finish, it was another three months, maybe longer. When the day to install the door came, they showed up promptly and put it in but there was a delay in staining the woodwork. It went for a month or more. The experience was long and agonizing.
I wouldn’t fault the guys who came though because the installer was working without an assistant. That person didn’t show up or something. The installer put that door all by himself in about six hours, which was astounding to me. How he handled that heavy door and all the heavy tools that went into installing it was amazing. He had to cart it on his truck around the house and through the back of the house, and the fact that he could do it all physically was amazing. I’d give him that credit.
The complication of it was that there was a blind on that door which we had to have taken down. Then when people came to put it back up, the dimensions of the woodwork had narrowed by three-eighths of an inch. So the old blind would not fit back in the spot. We had to buy a new blind and have it installed, which we added about 800 bucks to the price for. I was very dissatisfied and if I was getting another window installed, I would not even consider hiring Renewal by Andersen.

Renewal by Andersen has a reputation for quality of product and service. I live in a development where there was a family that was planning on having windows done, and they had an arrangement with Renewal by Andersen, and gave me that person’s contact, and kinda worked me in there. The windows were replaced, but that was through an insurance claim issue we had in our development here with some hail damage the summer before. The patio door was not part of the insurance claim, and it was really in bad shape. It was like a sieve and the windows came right through it so it needed to be replaced. The first gentleman who came out and presented the door options and pricing was very nice. Then, he turned me over to a scheduler and that was very good. And then after that, was the installer, then the painter-stainer. That’s four people altogether and they were very professional and prompt.
The entire process took a couple of months. The patio door installed is in a little 10 x 10 sunroom that we have. It’s a room that’s mostly windows and has two big three-panel windows. We were concerned after having the patio door, the old one, be so poor. We taped that up and put plastic over it. Now, we don’t have anything over the patio door, and it’s quite comfortable in that room so we’re very pleased.

YEA THEY DID NOT TELL HIM OF THE BOARDED UP WINDOW OR TELL HIM HE HAD TO TRIM IT OUT. All he said, "I don't have the trim and you did pay for it." Okla. The rep (Neal **) was very nice (when he was selling me the products). The price ended up over $20,000 - but I fell for it anyway. The windows were installed in October, 2018. The next day, I contacted Neal to change the windows to open to ones that would not (case windows). The cost went down almost $2,000. That's a lot for me. He said he would change it. Since I did not have immediate access to a computer, Neal said he would send the contract out with the person who measures the windows. I signed the revised contract. The person who measured said I would get a copy emailed to me, that he did not have an extra copy to give to me.
When I got information of the finance company, the amount financed was the complete amount from the original order. I have contacted Neal time after time, requesting that he correct the amount. Neal kept saying I received the corrected agreement. The only agreement I ever received was the blanket agreement with the finance company. I told Neal that once he received his commission, I feel he did not care. If he changed the amount financed to the lower amount, he would get a lower commission.
After many emails, Neal gave me another name, and said Ryan's contact information was in one of the many emails. I looked through all of the emails, and no such information was provided. I emailed Neal, telling him I did not have the information for Ryan, and to send it to me. As of today, I have not received it. I guess Renewal by Andersen does not believe in providing an itemized statement. Honesty?? As of 12/19/2018, I have not received any kind of itemized statement as to the costs of everything. The amount owed has not been changed with the finance company. I feel it is downright stealing!

The windows I had were from Renewal by Andersen. The house was built by my brother who's an architect and he had a strong relationship with Andersen windows. Then recently, I replaced the windows in my downstairs family room which were more than 10 feet wide and it entailed getting rid of the old sliding glass doors plus two windows that went pretty much from ceiling to the floor on each side of the sliding glass doors. I went with Renewal again and my interactions with their reps were great. They were not only helpful, they were also always letting me know when they’re gonna do what. There’s not one thing I could say bad about them. The installers who came out were also extremely courteous and it took them a while to finish. They had to do quite a bit and they were working here for about 5 hours.
The replacements are very good quality and I’m very happy with them. My other ones were really old and these new ones made a huge difference. With them, I don't notice the cold draft as much anymore. I expect some cold to come in with that much window, but not the draft like I used to have. Also, there was almost a gap with my other Andersen windows there. Overall, everything worked the way it should have worked. Renewal by Andersen's reps were prompt and efficient. They did what they needed to do and it all worked out good.

The price was very expensive ($26,000.00) but my past experiences with Andersen Products was favorable so I decided to go for it. The experience was horrible and this was the worst contractor that I have ever dealt with. The installation work was shoddy and poorly done. The quality control of the doors was poor and two of the doors were damaged with scratched glass and had to be replaced.
It took more than four months for the project to be completed because installer techs were not given proper instructions about what needed to be done and arrived without the proper replacement parts or the wrong parts. The reps in the office were disorganized and often did not know what needed to be done. I'm finished with Andersen Products and will never use them again. Be very careful if you are going to deal with them!

Now, the window has two big panes of glass that slide instead of three with the wood trim in between. We also have better vision outside. The only problem is it faces south so the sun comes in directly in the wintertime. Other than that, the window is good quality and I’m very pleased.

At this point I am practically rendered speechless by our unbelievable litany of problems with Renewal by Andersen. The windows do not live up to the hype, our old windows seemed to have had more sound insulation than the new Andersen windows. Cleanup was very poor. We spent over 2 hours vacuuming and sweeping on the first day. Still managed to get a splinter in my foot have since found several large pieces of glass in the garden. When we refused to give a 5 star rating because of the 2 above issues the head crewman said, "Oh, so you are going to be difficult customers."
One big window was installed with 4 cracks going from top to bottom. Several frames had been cut on one side only to install the windows hence an uneven appearance plus foam was hanging over the edges. The wrong window had been installed in upstairs master bathroom. A case of miscommunication with the salesman. On contacting the customer sales rep about seeing daylight in the corner of one window where edges did not meet, we were sent a link to a video to fix it ourselves!!!
The lock on one window is broken and there are 7 screws missing. When we went to the city offices to arrange inspection come to find out Andersen had not applied for the permit we had paid for. (Would this be illegal installation?) Customer service rep then had us do their job for them by taking photos to send to them for the permit. OK that done windows failed inspection primarily because of cracked window. After many texts, emails, and requested photos sent I FINALLY was able to get someone out to look who admitted that the work was not up to Andersen's usual standard. (By this time I am wondering if Andersen actually has any standards!!)
Two weeks ago crew was supposed to come and fix problems. No show. I called. Left a message. Half hour later I did receive a callback to inform me installer had called in sick. I wonder if they would ever have let me know. I wasn't holding my breath but another crew did arrive this morning, another date having been previously arranged and cancelled by them. This crew was not informed about the broken lock and missing screws so did not have the materials with which to fix it despite the fact I had been reassured by both the salesman and "customer service rep" that this had been put on the work docket. So we continue to have an unsafe, unlockable window!!! The communication and organizational skills of this company is simply stunning!!!
Now some of the frames have been replaced others have not leading to a totally mismatched appearance. This seems to be a company only interested in the quantity of work and money they can accumulate and to heck with quality and customer service and satisfaction. More fool us for trying to buy quality American goods!!! That concept appears to be a fallacy if our experiences with Renewal by Andersen is anything to go by. So Andersen how are you going to redeem yourselves???

I researched Renewal by Andersen and found that it was the best windows. They were the most expensive but they were really good. They were so well-known too. The representative I dealt with was great. He knew what he was talking about and he explained everything in great detail. When they ordered everything, they said it would be a couple of weeks. But they had a problem. They wrote the order up but when the windows were delivered, they were all frosted. They had to take the windows back and make up new ones. I had to wait over a month to get my windows.
On the other hand, the guys who did the installation were great and so helpful. I was asking them questions when they were installing and they explained things to me. The only thing is that I had recommended the windows to a neighbor and she got them. My salesman told me that I would get something for a referral but I haven’t gotten it and I'm still waiting. Nonetheless, I’m very happy with my double-hung windows.

Renewal by Andersen is a quality product and both my parents retired from there. I got the Renewal product that cranks out of its casement and from the bid process to ordering and install, everything was well-communicated. The initial sales rep was informative about the product, seemed to be really competitive with the pricing and actually talked through some design elements. We had a good conversation. The installation guys were good also. They were very clean and committed to quality. Overall, it was very top-notch and I’d recommend them to anyone.

Recently had 1 10 ft bow window and 8 double hung bedroom windows installed. Approximate cost $15000. There was no problem with installation. All was done in a timely manner, courteously and professionally. However in winter weather you cannot stand anywhere close to any of the windows without feeling the cold air coming in. You can actually feel a breeze blowing in where the frame meets the sill. Considering the price this kind of performance is completely unacceptable. It is time now that I need a 10 ‘bay window on backside of house. Rest assured it will not be Renewal by Andersen. I received a call recently from a Renewal by Andersen rep trying to sell me the product. I explained to him verbatim what was just written, told me he would bring it to the company's attention and that I would be receiving a call from them... Lololol. Guess I won’t be getting that call now. Very disappointing to say the least. Another drafty winter rolling in.

We had windows from Andersen Window but they were old. So, we got four basement windows from Renewal by Andersen and they have a pretty decent size. It took about two months from the time we purchased the windows until they were able to do the installation, but they got the windows in in one day. Everything went well and Renewal by Andersen's reps were all very helpful, from the person that came in right up through the ordering and the second guy that we had who came in here to do the measuring. Then, the install was really good. Other than that, the quality of our new windows is a whole lot better than what we had before. Right now, the heat stays in the basement whenever we heat it up,. But before, with the weather we got right now, it would have been all frosted up. Also, you can just tell it's solid down there.

I looked at some other window retailers and they didn’t have as good of a warranty policy. I called them and said that I would give birth in eight weeks and I had a window that needed to be replaced in the nursery before then. Everyone said they could maybe do it or maybe they could fit me in. On the other hand, Renewal by Andersen said that they were booked out 14 weeks but they understood that I was in a bind so they would see what they could do. They called me back 20 minutes later and they told me that they called one of their regular customers and he agreed to switch with me because I was pregnant and was going to give birth. That’s the company I wanna stand behind. One who sees a first-time mom-to-be and the panic in my eyes. So, it was the whole sales experience and the way that they treated me over the phone that made me choose them. They were great across the board and I enjoyed working with them.
They said that they could fit me in two weeks before my due date. So, it was in by the end of August. They called me and gave me a 12-hour timeframe and then, they called me the day before and gave me a more specific one. They came in and safely removed our original window from a 1955 house. They showed me how to work it and told me everything I needed to know about it. It’s beautiful and people should go with Renewal by Andersen.

I moved into a home that already had new windows by Renewal by Andersen put in, and I wanted to match those. Their rep was someone who I felt was on my level. He was very personable and a down-to-earth guy. He was excellent. I was happy with the installation, too. It took time, but it wasn't an issue for me. I was not in a hurry, and I was happy with their timeline. The installers acted very professionally and tried to keep the work site clean, and they were respectful of my home. I would have preferred to have more communication between them and me with things they noticed, or things that they could have pointed out to me, instead of just doing it and leaving. But I find it common that these installers will come and do their work and leave, and not point out things that might have been helpful for you to know about or to notice.
Renewal by Andersen has a good product, and they specialize in it, so they do it well. The only thing is, in Minneapolis where I live, you have to take out a permit to get a new window replaced, which I understood. But I would have liked to have known when the inspector was coming. They didn't let me know ahead of time when the inspector was coming. So, that's one other point of the communication that was not to the level that I wanted. Compared to other companies I've worked with, Renewal by Andersen is superior but they could still do a little better. Still, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I'd recommend them, and I have recommended them.

The installation was completed and done beyond our satisfaction. The windows are not only gorgeous we also feel the difference in our home immediately. Drafts are gone, heater runs less now that winter has set in.
I cannot say enough great things about this company and their products. If you are in the market for replacement windows and you don't contact Renewal by Andersen, you are selling yourself and your home short. I hired Renewal by Anderson to remove three windows and install a large sliding glass door in April 2018. The project was $16,000. Very expensive but I thought I was paying for quality and service and boy was I wrong. They did the main install in July 2018 and it is now December 2018 and the project still is not complete. I financed the project through a company they recommended so they were able to weasel all the money form them before finishing the project.
Ever since then, I have had to call them over and over and they either don't return the calls or they tell me they have to order a piece of weather-stripping and it will take a few weeks to get it in. I finally managed to get them to caulk the holes, put up the trim, and paint the frame but even that took months to get done. Now there is a breeze coming in because there is a piece of weather-stripping missing and we had to stuff a rag into our $16,000 doors. This is the worst company you could ever hire and I wouldn't trust them ever again.

The Renewal by Andersen rep was very knowledgeable. He explained everything really well, so I knew exactly what I was gonna get. I dealt with him with my father-in-law's house first, and he did a very good job with that one. I liked Renewal by Andersen so much that I ended up choosing them for my house too. I thought about the quality and how well they explained everything to us, and I liked what I heard. Everything went exactly how the rep had said it would be, and it worked out the same way with my house too. He seemed like he knew what he was doing and talking about, so just the way he was, was all right with me.
Renewal by Andersen had their person come out to measure, and he came when they said he was gonna come. Then, for the installation, they told me which day and that they would start it at 8 in the morning. The guys arrived at 8 and they were very good people. They were very personal where it was like you can talk to them like they're neighbors. They definitely knew what they were doing and they did very quality work. I liked the way they weather-sealed the outside with the caulking. They did a really nice job there. Taking the old windows out, they were really careful with the old bay window, and they made sure it didn't fall. There were two groups, and they helped each other right throughout. One group had a patio guy doing the patio, and the window people are kind of a separate crew.
I had the patio door and bay window replaced, and then I did my one-bedroom window at this time. Eventually, I'd like to do more when I can afford it. They gave me eight to ten weeks as timeline when I had done it early summer. But it ended up being quicker because it only took six weeks. I had the trim work which is what I'm always impressed with. They did such a nice job with the oak trim that they put back on around the windows. They do an outstanding job and they do it so quickly and efficiently. Then they already had set up for my city inspector to come out, and that all went as smooth as silk.
I've already told people how great Renewal by Andersen is. I think it's the way to go, even if it's a bit more up front. I've got a lifetime guarantee and good financing, and then I had gotten a good deal as it was anyways, so it has made it a lot easier also. I recommend Renewal by Andersen to anyone who would ask or anyone that wants windows. I'm more impressed with their product than the vinyl windows that I purchased about 10 years ago. They are on the other part of my house. They seem to be all right and that's why I haven't replaced them yet, but they're nowhere near as good as the windows by Renewal by Andersen.

Most of the people in the neighborhood seemed to be getting windows. Had I known somebody else, I could have gone with them and it was just the luck of the draw that I bought windows and gutters from Renewal by Andersen. We had a communication issue with what window we picked and what got written down. The replacement took longer than they anticipated. The installers were good so it had more to do with the sales portion but the reps were there to placate people and that’s what they did. So, other than it was disappointing, it got done. The windows were good and the cost was at par with other people I know who had windows. Even though the gutters work, I have ice dams and I can’t put any heat cables up with those gutters.

I investigated several other window manufacturers and I found that Renewal by Andersen was best-rated. We had our windows replaced and I’m very pleased with the work, the quality of the product, and the attitude of the whole organization. We did it in two phases for affordability and did the downstairs first and then upstairs. The installers did quality work. They also put in a grate front door which was very expensive.
There was one window that had a blemish and it was replaced promptly. It’s one of those things where you notice it yourself and perhaps others don’t. I paid a premium price for the work, but it’s quality stuff. When it’s time for us to move outta here, it’s one of those things you gotta do just to keep the house maintained, and it’s unlikely I’ll get my money back. But in terms of drafts, the heat, and the cold, it was a deal and I would do it again. I would recommend Andersen to anyone. It’s a little expensive, but you get what you pay for.

The installers also kept the house clean. Recently the slider was broken but we finally got ahold of customer care today, and they’ve scheduled a technician to come out.
Also the installers arbitrarily made the decision to change the size of my trim work around the bay window because there were some flaws in the drywall. I understand why they did that, but the trim around that window is the only trim like that in my entire house, and that annoys the crap out of me. If they had shown me what the problem was, my husband’s a good drywall repair guy and he could have fixed it and I would have had all the same trim. Otherwise, everything went smoothly.

Met with RBA rep today. The meeting started out ok but quickly deteriorated when we got to the quoting process. The retail price was $13k but was offered multiple discounts making the total around +$9600 with the caveat that it available "today only". Otherwise, you lose the +$540 discount and the cost jumps up to +/-$10,400. If you don't decide within 30 days, the cost jumps up to +$13k.
In hindsight, I now have a better understanding of why I was asked multiple times if the all the decision makers would be present at the meeting. High pressure is clearly their "model" and not just the style of the rep. They do not provide a cost break down for labor, supplies, permits, disposal, materials, and etc... He could not tell me the local labor rate nor how many people would do the job. He also implied that I was getting a better deal because two nearby neighbors just bought similar products.
I was told I would receive an email with the cost overview so I could review the details of the agreement and thus far have received nothing. The document was supposedly sent before he left. That was several hours ago. Lastly, Andersen knocking the competition with no facts, samples, photos or literature to substantiate your claims is an epic FAIL!!

The first red flag was when they insisted all homeowners be present when the salesman came to measure the windows. The reason for that is it eliminates the "I need to ask my spouse" excuse while they're pushing hard to have you sign on the dotted line. I find that to be despicable, windows are a LOT of money and it's shameful to try to trick people into making decisions without having time to talk it over.
The sales guy spent two solid hours showing us their product and belittling everything vinyl. He said several times vinyl windows only last about 5 years, which a quick Google search proved to be untrue. Some very cheap windows may only last that long but it was explained to us that ALL vinyl lasts 5 years or less. To push inaccurate/misleading information like that is unacceptable and they should be ashamed. If their product is as great as they boast, they should not need to lie about competitors.
Around 90 minutes in I hinted it was time to talk about cost, only to have him act like I hadn't given enough time and it was rude of me to rush him. He would tell us a fact about the windows and then say, "Now, isn't that something you'd want in your home?" to which we would answer yes, but inwardly we were rolling our eyes because it felt very salesman-y and rather patronizing.
When we finally got to numbers it landed at $85K for 16 windows and one slider door. Then the "but if you buy now..." started and we were shown all kinds of discounts that would only be applied if we signed that day or within 7 days. The cost went to $50K after the discounts, which he kept pushing despite the fact we were upfront about only wanting to know the cost so we could budget and plan. In the end, the whole experience was not what I would call pleasant. We will not be buying windows from Renewal by Andersen.

I talked to a bunch of different retailers and nobody could solve my problem. I thought I'd have to a go to a more commercial solution, but when I called Andersen and they came over, they said they could do the job and I couldn't be happier with what they did for us. I have a very modern home and I have floor-to-ceiling windows that go up about 14 feet in a corner. We have had to change them a couple of times since the house was built because it's a unique architecture and windows don't hold up very well. I had Andersen come in and they re-engineered it without undue cost. They were able to do the job earlier than they originally thought. Plus they were meticulous, so they left the house as clean as they found it.
The Andersen rep really knew his stuff. He wrote up the order and everything went off without a hitch. My one complaint was that we wanted to do some additional work, and he told me he would get back to me with some vendors that he knew, and he never did that. That was a little disappointing, but that's a minor thing. The windows look beautiful and it's not leaking. It wasn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. We finally found a permanent solution, and I'm thrilled. I don't think I'd ever call another window company.

We replaced 7 windows and were thoroughly disappointed with the quality of the windows and the installation process. A broken sash was installed on my kitchen window and 4 other pieces of glass had manufacturing defects. The installer left a large hole in my sheetrock and dirty windows. The manufacturing defects were between the two pieces of glass and looked like rock chips. The installer did not even bother to tell me the window sash was broken. When I finally spoke to the crew supervisor, he told me he was too busy at another job site that had problems that he could not address mine. He came the next day and promised to send someone over to fix the sheetrock on a Sunday, and that person never showed and then lied and said he called to reschedule.
The General manager in Houston said he would personally make sure my windows were taken care of in one visit. But again, broken promises- it took two more trips! Maybe my experience is not typical, but let me tell you, that my experience was an absolute disaster from start to finish! I received a lot of excuses from the RBA team. Everyone had an excuse for why I received such shoddy products and installation. At the end of the day, RBA felt that all the frustration, inconvenience and angst, was only worth an 8% discount. Needless to say I will not recommend RBA to anyone.

He demonstrated with a heat lamp how inefficient my existing doors were. (Scary!) The doors took 3 months to arrive because they are made to order. The installers, John and Joe, arrived on time and were professional and courteous. The job was done in a few hours, including indoor and outdoor trim. John and Joe removed all trash and vacuumed. Upon inspection, we noticed 2 small cracks in the frames of both moving panels. I was assured they would both be replaced, and they were without a hassle. Now they are perfect and my house is warmer. The doors are beautiful and I highly recommend Renewal by Anderson!
Thanks for taking the time to share about your experience, Maureen! We are so pleased to hear that you had a great experience with us and love your new doors! We hope you enjoy your doors for many years to come!

I only have buyer's remorse and very upset with the high-pressure sales tactics that were deployed by the Renewal By Andersen rep to make my wife agree to spend $10,624 on 6 insert windows. I feel very much swindled. At the end of it all we do not have what we needed but instead we have the sales rep's vision plastered across the back of our house. The minimum amount of work and product was delivered at the highest cost to us. The RBA rep tried to get my wife to buy a front door with sidelights for over $14,000 but I managed to dodge that. I'll comment on that later. I am extremely annoyed that RBA does not provide an actual breakdown of costs for their windows, the labor, supplies and materials. RBA's literature eludes to cost savings and an ROI that, when you spend some time doing the math, doesn't exist.
As I read reviews here I guess that the warranty will not be honored, so, not surprised. In addition, this company treats its installers very poorly. I'll explain. During the install I voiced my questions and displeasure and wanted to make sure I did not cause any issues for the installation team, an independent contractor outsourced by RBA, that was actually incredibly competent and attentive. They informed me that I would receive a survey and that their performance was ranked by the following and if I answered less than 10, that they would be "dinged" by Andersen.
Here's the question, "Based specifically on your experience of the installation process, how likely are you to recommend Renewal by Andersen to a family member, colleague, friend or neighbor?" My actual answer is that install team did a great job putting lipstick on the pig of a product RBA sells. I got their number to come back and get some estimates for other jobs in the future. If the question is, will I buy Andersen again, the answer is zero percent chance of that. I would not wish my friends and family to be price gouged, placed in a high-pressure sales pitch, have arguments with their spouse over the outrageous high cost and lowered expectations. Andersen tries to divert responsibility of any issues on to the install team with that question. That's pretty slimy business tactics. That's another reason why any more window or door purchases for our home will not include Andersen or its affiliates.
To follow up on the door comment, I did convince my wife to buy a beautiful solid oak door with sidelights that have low E glass windows, she picked out exactly the locks and color that she wants for just over 4200 and that included installation. That company provided us a complete breakdown for labor and materials and no high-pressure sales tactics were involved.
I only hope you do your homework and get 5 quotes before you decide. This was also my folly not to do my homework completely. If the sales rep tries to force you to sign now, tell them that you sleep on all big purchases. If it truly is a good deal, it will be their tomorrow, and the next day, and next year and show then the door. One of the quotes from one of the other companies that I passed on, sadly, offered a quote that was good for a year. The other company was still pricey as well but their list of conditions, tasks to complete and costs were far better outlined. I am so angry with allowing this and not presenting my arguments clearly and concisely to my spouse to make her understand that Renewal's costs and benefits were not the best choice for us in any way.
As we are full-service, we are responsible for all parts of the process--people, process, product. We do want your unvarnished feedback, and you should not have been influenced to complete a survey in a way you did not feel comfortable with. That same committment to all three parts of the process is why we do offer a robust, fully transferrable limited warranty, and yes, we do stand by it. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need help.

Replacing our windows was something we have been considering and then Renewal by Andersen came to the door at an opportune time. So, I had them do the presentation. Also, almost everyone I knew had their windows replaced by Renewal so I went with them as well. The initial saleswoman was here for three hours which was a little over the top. She was friendly, knowledgeable and did the measurement first so she could give me an estimate. She set it up and also came back a second time when I had to sign everything and it went much quicker. After that, a guy came to do the measurement again and he seemed to know what he was talking about.
I had 14 windows replaced and the people who did the installation came and did what they had to do while I also did everything I was supposed to do. They were done in a day. The last guy who came to stain the windows did what he said he was gonna do. I love the windows and they are great. I would recommend Renewal by Andersen. It was a fine-tuned machine from start to finish. I felt very comfortable that they knew what they were doing and it was not hit or miss.
Thanks for the awesome review! We are so pleased to hear that you had a pleasant experience with our team! Thanks again for taking the time to share - we appreciate it!

Paid Anderson $1,000 in August for a down-payment on one window, and 3 months later they STILL have not installed it. Numerous no shows, installation cancellations, excuses, non-returned calls. It’s now mid-November in Boston, freezing weather, and we still don’t have the window we paid for last summer. Winter is here, it’s 29 degrees, and it will be very difficult to cut a huge hole in our house now to install this window. Horrible customer service, terrible scheduling department, over-priced, disorganized.

I previously used Andersen double hung windows upstairs, and the windows that needed to be replaced were too large to consider doing them myself. I wanted to speak with Andersen so that was why I went with Renewal. I got from them a bay window, so the center section of that is solid, and then either side of that is a double hung. The representative we dealt with was extremely knowledgeable, very professional, and we really were able to work things out very well with him. During the installation, the crew showed up, and when I got home, everything was done, so that was good. The windows are of top-notch quality. However, I’m getting an awful lot of literature in my email. They can take me off their mailing list because I am all done. Still, overall, I’m very satisfied.
Thanks for the great review, Ralph! We appreciate you sharing about your experience! If you would like to send me your contact information (address and email), I will personally remove you from our send lists! My email is tina.erickson@andersencorp.com Thanks in advance!

A customer of Renewal had told me about their experience and referred me to them. Jeff, the sales rep, was a great guy. He was very professional and we got along great. He made me feel very comfortable about him and the product and he was able to demonstrate to me just how much better a Renewal by Andersen window is versus other types of windows that are out there, about how much heat they let in, and how easy it was to open and close the slider door and open and close the window. The product pretty much sells itself but Jeff put a nice touch to the whole presentation.
Also, he walked me through the entire process and told me how long it would take them to make the windows and when they would call me to schedule the appointment. I was able to get the appointment scheduled within six to eight weeks of the sales call. Then, the guys came out and they were there 12 hours and did the whole job then. They took out the old stuff, put the new stuff in, did the hallway, and cleaned up.
I purchased a new slider door, double-hung windows, a single pane or a single slider window, and another one where I had two horizontal slider windows and they're fantastic. The only thing with the installation that wasn’t communicated upfront was the fact that the old windows I had left about a 1½ to 2-inch depth in the window pane. So, when they put the new ones in and some of the windows in the house, I couldn't use my blinds for the prior window because they would stick out too far. They didn’t fit flush with the pane. I had to go out and spend another $300 in blinds for the windows that didn’t conform. That was an additional cost that I didn't anticipate. And it’s no longer a perfect match window-to-window but I really don’t care. As long as the sun is blocked out, it doesn’t matter to me that I got the Bali Aluminum 1-inch and the contractor-grade 2-inch wooden that came with the place. I was happy with the entire process.
Thanks for taking the time to share about your experience, Christopher! We are pleased to hear that you are satisfied with your experience with Renewal by Andersen (aside from the extra expense of having to buy new blinds). Thanks again for sharing!

I have three Andersen Doors installed that are 20 years old. On the outside of the door the rectangular siding has become unglued. I contacted Andersen Service, which has been a nightmare. I was give five different numbers to call before finally reaching a person that requested measurements, pictures of the doors, inside and out as well as Andersen numbers from the doors. This was compounded by the fact that the representative was unable to speak clearly.
Finally after I called back I was told that the door department does not handle these doors, I had to call the Window department. Then when I reached the window department I was told to again search for numbers on 20 year old doors that are not legible. I finally asked who locally could repair the doors and was given a number locally. The pictures clearly show the doors require a metal rain guard to be installed over the top like the top of the doors have been built. Way too many phone calls to Andersen to have a simple problem resolved.

We like Andersen’s products. It seemed to be a lot sturdier, and it looked like it would last longer compared to other retailers. We got double hung type windows and awning type, but instead of going out from the bottom, it goes from right to left. The two representatives we had were both really good, very knowledgeable on the product and weren’t pushy. The installers were excellent. They came out, took all the windows out, had tarps down to make sure nothing got damaged. And when they were done, they cleaned up really well before they left. In fact, it was cleaner after than before.
Thanks for the great review, Paul! We are so pleased to hear that you had a great experience with our team! What a bonus that the house was left cleaner than when they arrived! That's awesome!

I liked the reputation of Renewal by Andersen so I purchased double-hung windows from them. Their salesperson came out, took measurements, talked about their product then gave us a quote. Thereafter, their techs came in and put the windows in in a day. Since the installation, I've been very satisfied with the windows and I've found them to be of good quality. What they quoted me was what I paid. I'd use this company's services again.

Renewal by Andersen in Rochester NY made our very large window wrong. The reason we ordered it from Andersen so it was manufactured in one piece at the factory. The paperwork showed we ordered right and now Andersen wants to only replace the center section of the window. That’s exactly what we didn’t want. Their mistake now they want to save money instead of ordering the whole window new like we asked for. Took forever for them to answer or get call backs to resolve the issues and in the end they threatened us with legal action if we don’t pay the balance. Basically strong arming us for the money even though a replacement isn’t acceptable to us. It isn’t new out of the box one whole piece and that’s what out expectation was and that’s what the salesman promised. Beware if you're in Rochester - you will be sorry if you have any issues with it!
Bruce - so sorry to hear about your frustrating experience! If you are willing, please reach out to me directly with your information (including zip code) and I will look into this directly for you. My email is tina.erickson@andersencorp.com Thanks in advance!

I had a set of Renewal by Andersen sliding glass doors in my dining room headed out to my deck area for years. I was very happy with those and because they lasted a long time, I returned to this company to replace them with new ones. At the same time, I also replaced my front doors and storm doors with new doors from them.
However, when I got the new storm doors, the factory keyed the locks so they matched. So, I only have to use one key. I've had so much trouble with the key not wanting to work on the storm door lock. It works only on the front door. As a result, two different people have come out to service it and I've already had the interlock changed. I’m wondering if that’s a very good system only because I also maintain an apartment in Austin, Texas near my family. That apartment complex tells me my garage door and my front door to the apartment are keyed so that the same key works. It doesn’t work there either. I’d rather have two keys and have two locks than for them to keep trying to use the same key work both locks.
Another complaint I have is that when I try to call the service department number, nobody ever answers. Though I leave my name and a message and two or three days later, somebody calls me back, I can never get through to the service department. That's frustrating sometimes. Still when they call, Renewal's reps have been lovely and they try to be helpful. If I get new windows in the future, I'll go with Renewal by Andersen because I've been very happy with the salespeople, with the representatives, the people who come out to service my place. I recommend this company to other people.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! Sorry to hear about the frustrating experience with your locks. But we are glad that you still would choose Renewal by Andersen again, despite this problem. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to help this situation! Thanks again!

Renewal by Andersen is a local company and they have a reputation. I got a replacement window from them and it was done faster than I thought. I was also informed all along the way. The salesperson who came out has had some experience and was knowledgeable about the products that had been offered in the past as well as the product that Andersen was offering then. He also informed me about the difference between a vinyl window versus some kind of a composite, which is what Andersen makes the windows out of. He told me how much he did several replacements and gave me a price based on what I could afford. I could really only afford to do one window. They're expensive but I'd recommend them.
I love the window that I got and I wish all my windows were that window. My old, rattly ones are very thin and they let a lot of heat out. They're not very good quality. I wish Andersen had some kind of a window installment program where you could pay for one window per year and get the rate for doing a whole house of windows. The installers I had dealt with were also very professional and clean. They had a cancellation and they let me know they could come early. They also took really good care of my property as far as covering the carpets and cleaning up after themselves. They did a really excellent job.
HI A. Thank you for taking a moment to share your feedback! We are happy that you are enjoying your product and that you feel like they are making a difference in your home. Depending on where you are located, your location may have special offers or financing available for repeat customers, so be sure to check back with them from time to time! Thanks again for choosing Renewal, and we look forward to working with you in the future.

A small room off of our living room has all windows and we noticed in a rainstorm that there was some leaking in those windows. We did a little bit of research then my wife and I decided that Renewal by Andersen was the best window on the market. We called and when the guy from Renewal came out, we agreed to a price. After we made the decision to buy the windows, somebody came out almost immediately to measure. Originally, they thought that it wouldn’t be until some time in January that they can install. But then they called us and said they wanted to set up a date. The windows were put in in early December. It was a quick process.
Installation was also absolutely fantastic. There was a guy who was like the foreman of the group. He directed the others and helped out. Then there were three or four in the crew, and it only took them about six hours to put all the windows in. They were professional too. They put down all the stuff that needed to be put down to catch the dirt and debris. They even helped me move a couple pieces of furniture out of the room. They knew exactly what they were gonna do and were really good.
I recommended Renewal to two people right away. I told them upfront that the windows are expensive but that we’re very satisfied with them. The windows that were in the room were original windows in the house, and the house was built in 1928. They were double-hung windows but the storm windows were not attached. It wasn’t all one piece like these Andersen windows are. So in the winter months, we noticed right away that you can’t really feel the cold breeze coming through. There wasn’t a cold spill-off off the Andersen window. We also got the leak taken care of. We have not noticed any leaking since the replacement.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, Otto! We are so pleased that you have noticed a difference in the coziness of your house - what a bonus! Thanks again for sharing your experience! We appreciate it!
