I had windows and patio doors replaced on my porch. Three patio doors on one side were replaced with windows, which required building a knee wall to match the ones on the sides. The existing knee walls were finished with cedar trim. Andersen duplicated the look exactly with cedar. I thought that I would have to get someone else to put siding on the outside to match the rest of the porch, but they came with insulation and white vinyl siding to match the existing walls. It looks fantastic. Before the job was done, Andersen inspected the job thoroughly and was prepared with the necessary supplies to duplicate what I had when they arrived to actually do the job. Everything was done in one day despite a cold rain which fell the entire day while they were working.
Hi- Those windows and doors look great! Thanks for sharing your project with us! We are happy to hear about your positive experience with our teams!

We had our gliding door put in by them, and they hurried, got in and left very quick. After we noticed fingerprints on the screen guide on top, it appeared they were trying to make it fit, there is approximately a 1/4 inch gap. Big enough for all the bugs we do not want in our home to come in. This bothers me very much. But what bothered me the most, was no one said a word about the discrepancy and out they went, if they had said, "hey it is not to our standard, we ordered you a new part and will be back". Nope, nothing like that, instead my husband calls and they suggest he caulk it, or they can. Not acceptable, then they send someone a few weeks later, and he measures and with a measuring tape in a photo shows it is far above their 1/8 inch permissible gap.
So this guy orders a new one, supposedly sends a photo to his supervisor. I am guessing the supervisor Tyler did not get it, for today, he knows not of it. He is called because the new item is... wait for it.... the same length as the old one, and we are told we cannot have the same material, must have this aluminum one which we will have to maintain and it will be louder. This is told to us by both service guy and supervisor, but if we want they can send some kind of coil and we can keep our quieter one that won't fit correctly, but this will 'patch' the gap. So how is this service? Why would someone get this from Andersen renewal if there is no way for them to rectify their mistake other than rigging some fix or using replacement parts of different quality, when I have not had yet, what I originally paid for. This is unsatisfactory!

I was impressed with every facet of the experience: from the thorough quote just hours after my inquiry, to the immediate response to a concern that I had. Beautiful, solid windows and true professionals! William answered all of my questions and provided me with excellent suggestions about my replacement windows, even though my job was small. He did not pressure me in any way, and responded to emails very quickly. Mark, the head installer, was prompt and professional. When I noticed a minor discrepancy between what I thought I had ordered, and what was installed, the company was courteous, efficient, and committed to to making it right. Mark was back the next business day to switch the windows. I am delighted with the windows, and if I was planning to stay in my house long-term, I would definitely have them do the whole house!
Hi Stephanie- Thank you for sharing your experience with us, we are so glad to hear that all went well with install and that you are loving your new windows!

We were looking for some mullings for our old windows, and Renewal by Andersen was the only company that could do that. They did all the installation in one day and it was wonderful. There’s a couple of windows, however, where the mullings isn’t put straight across the window, which was a little disappointing. Also, the seal is leaking at the bottom of the patio door. We’re trying to get somebody to come and take a look at it to tell us how we can get that repaired. We called the salesman on Monday, but we had to leave a message, and he hasn’t called back yet.
Hi Paul and Christine- Thank you for sharing your experience with us! I am happy to hear that we were able to deliver what you were looking for. I will, however, pass your concerns regarding the mullings not being straight onward to the team. Thank you!

We just had Andersen double hung windows installed. So far, everything is fine. We already had other windows put in by Andersen and we just liked the quality of it. They are a bit more expensive than others, but the quality is still better. The installation was very good. Both times that we had windows done, the installers were very good. They did take down all the window treatments and put them back up again, which was a very big help. Doug, our salesperson, was very professional, explained what was going on as well as the pricing.
Hi Mrs. Kosch- Thank you for sharing your experience with us! I am happy to hear you had such a nice experience with our install teams and that you are loving your new windows! Thank you!

The sales pitch was basically the same as all others. This is why our windows are so expensive and the best. Measurements were thorough as there were 2 different people though the second person only confirmed half of the window measurements. The initial scheduling was very limited and there was always only 1 day available and if you didn't accept this day it would be another month. When the day arrived the team started right away and provided a layout of what was going to happen. Out of the whole experience I would say the installers were the most professional (aside from them leaving big ruts in my yard from the trailer.
Since there were 9 windows being installed this was a 2 day job and after the first day weather forced us to push out the second day. The installer said the scheduler would call the same day and try to schedule a Saturday finish. I was was fine with this as the windows were partially finished and they needed to be completed before more bad weather arrived. Well, the scheduler called a day later and was telling me that they couldn't finish for 2 weeks as that was the only spot available. That didn't sit well and at the end of the day I needed to redo my schedule to accommodate what the installer had told me. The job was finished 2 days later and installation looks to be fine.
Well, now that it is completed and our colder weather has arrived the windows are not even close to what the salesman promised. The amount of cold air coming in is no different than the original 30 year old windows these replaced. This morning I checked and there is condensation all over the bottom of the window and water is gathering where the window meets bottom frame. I have a bunch of very expensive windows that are a month old and full of condensation. In the past We have had a different brand of window installed that did not have the condensation issue, and cost much less. At the end of the day these windows are NOT worth the money and DO NOT provide the benefits they say.
Hi Scott, thanks for taking a minute to leave very detailed feedback on your experience - we really appreciate it. First, I do want to address your condensation issue. You can watch this video to understand why condensation on your windows happens and what you can do to mitigate it: https://www.renewalbyandersen.com/blogs/2015/10/preventing-condensation I'm still going to pass this feedback along to the team and have them reach out to you if they haven't already to address any concerns you have with both the condensation as well as the air leakage you say you're experiencing. Stay tuned.

Updated on 08/29/2020: These people still won't fix my casters! They know they are defective and still will not give me decent casters. When first put in the door vibrated my floors and walls cause they were so loose! Corporate sent me a bag of casters to go thru and install them myself. For the price I paid, really!!!! All of them are defected and loose! When the door was installed the installer stripped screws and dented the screen door. Those were fixed and the casters were replaced as well. The casters installed were still loose and vibrated not as much as the first set but still bad. After 16 months, the door is now really hard to open cause of the casters are starting to give out already and still nothing from them. Quality is gone from this company.
Original review: I had one installed. They are total garbage. All the rollers are defective and the door vibrates and gouges into the rail. The rollers are loose and leak grease on the rails as well. When the first install happened the installer stripped screws, dented the screen door and the casters were so loose it vibrated my wall and floor. I was told by that installer that 90% of all the doors installed are like that. I wanted the casters replaced so they sent out 2 new casters. Not as bad as the first set but bad just the same. The installer didn't plumb the door when done. So they sent out a third installer to plumb and checked to see if he seated the casters correctly.
Stay away from these people for your sliding doors. Btw mine were installed by Pa. Renewal by Andersen. The main company called me and sent out a bag of casters for me. I was told to pick 2 and install them myself (I'm a commercial carpenter). Every one of them are loose as hell. He sent me a bag of evidence for when I go to court with them. This door will not last 20 years and since they dont call me back I don't see them maintaining their warranty. Let's not forget about their financing company Green Sky. They GAVE MY MONEY TO RBA WITHOUT MY SIGNOFF! On page 11 of our contract it says "If you have financed your project, there will be a finance sign off form made available to you by the installation crew." Greensky gave them the other half of MY money without me signing the form!!! HELP ME CONSUMER AFFAIRS!!!!

The windows we had prior were never like this, just a mold problem. Will never recommend these windows to anyone. And the guys they sent out to put them in stole meds out of my medicine cabinet.

We've dealt with Dial One, the previous owner, and we already invested close to $20,000 and $30,000 in their windows and custom windows. The door in our master bedroom had gotten dry rot in it, but there was only a one-year warranty on the Dial One door. We wanted the doors to match up with the back of the house. We had French doors in the living room and in the den. We wanted the same look that faced out on to the patio and the pool. We did look at some other manufacturers, but we reached out to Renewal by Andersen. They sent out a young man who was congenial.
We replaced the door and another bathroom window in the master bath that had become worked because we had such intense heat. That was the only Andersen window that was replaced. The other is similar to what we had but with some modifications because they no longer make them out of wood. They've never done a design quite like ours before. Our door has sidelights. Originally, the concept of our older doors was the sidelights go all the way down to the ground for ventilation purposes and there were screens outside. But we modified that so that they're only going down halfway. The whole installation was done in one day. We had a problem with one of the door locks on one of the other doors that we’ve had through Dial One, and they stood behind the product and replaced it for no extra charge.

I looked for a year, and Renewal was the best made window for the price. They’re expensive, but they’re beautifully made. I got the whole house done and I got the slider, I got the door wall and 12 other windows. There were two installers and they were excellent. They were professional but had a good sense of humor. They covered everything. The house was probably cleaner when they left than when they got here. They helped me move furniture that I couldn’t move, and they put it back. I had paid to take the grates down, and they did a beautiful job putting down a window treatment. At the same time, I had people doing outside work and they coordinated with them. All the guys that worked in the house were a really nice group of guys.

They did everything on schedule. I worked with two different reps, the salesman and then the coordinator that set up everything afterwards. The salesman was great and the coordinator was also excellent. They were very informative and punctual. The installers were very nice too. There were a couple questions they had and they performed a perfect installation -- I didn’t have to do a thing after they were done.

This company has layers upon layers built in so you cannot complain at all to Corporate Headquarters. Horrible experience with a door installation. The front door to our home has never worked properly since it was installed 5 months ago. Since that time, we have had 5 visits from technicians who continue to say that the door needs to either be replaced or reinstalled. I have not received a call back from the service dept supervisor regarding what the next step is. I have been in touch with the project mgr and concierge and still have not gotten any straight answers. In the meantime, I am left with a drafty door that does not open and close properly. Good luck trying to contact Corporate, the number just brings you to scheduling. I had all my windows replaced by them with no issues, thankfully. Will never use them again or recommend to anyone. Next step is legal proceedings if I don't hear from corporate.

I ordered more than $10,000 in windows for installation in July. Workman showed up at 8:00am and still not finished at 10:00pm. Had to wait 3 days for someone to come back (at their convenience) to finish. Destroyed my flower bed and left it full of nails, wood and glass. Also knocked plaster off walls surrounding 2 windows. Dave **, Manager came out to clean up and see required repairs. Workman came back to repair walls and left after 5 minutes - I took the day off to be available. Subsequently came back and fixed the walls. Months later (October) I received a call from Andersen stating one of the installed windows needed repair - the lock was broken.
This was the first time anyone informed me of the broken lock - and they could finally put me in their schedule to repair. Who waits months to repair a window???? Workman told me he was told I still owed on the bill - which had been paid months ago. I WILL NEVER USE Renewal By Andersen again. Beware - good product but service sucks.

I had Andersen double-hung windows put in this house when we built it. The installation went as planned. They even offered to move the furniture back, but I didn't need the assistance. The gal that signed the deal for me was okay. I understand that she works by commission and so she wanted to make sure I bought them, which was really not necessary because I called them and I was gonna buy their windows. When I was thinking about how many windows to do and what was the best way to handle it financially, she was in my ear, “We could do this. We could do that.” I was trying trying to figure out if I wanna pay cash when they install them or if I wanna do something else. I didn't need to be pressured. I like the Andersen windows. That was why I bought it. However, a couple of my windows had condensation on the inside which I thought was odd. I couldn't figure out why. Maybe it’s normal. I just was surprised.

I got their crank-out windows and the rep was wonderful. He was very nice, explained everything and asked if I had any questions. I did not feel like I was pressured in any way. The installers were great too. They did a door wall, and that took them about four hours. They cleaned up after themselves. I would’ve never known anyone was here. Overall the windows are great. My couch is right next to the window and I used to sit there and freeze, and I don’t anymore. Not only that, my neighbors don’t smoke in their house and even with the windows closed, you could smell when they were lighting cigarettes out on their porch, which is quite a ways away. I haven’t smelled cigarettes since I got my new windows.

Renewal by Andersen's windows are not vinyl. The material of the window frames was superior than anything else, and I thought that they were the best window in my situation. My house all had double hung windows so I purchased those from them. From the time I talked to the salesman until the windows were installed only took a couple of months, which wasn’t bad considering they had to make 13 windows custom-sized. As for the installation itself, they sent a full crew and it was done in one day. They were efficient. They laid down a runner so they wouldn’t track dirt. Each one had his job. There were guys that took them out. There were the guys that put them in and made sure they were square. And There was the guy that put the trim on. So, they had a nice little system going there.
There were a couple of problems when they installed it, however, and they had to come back a couple of weeks later. But even so, they took care of it right away. The one in my kitchen was mis-measured. And it was off by maybe an eighth of an inch, but it was enough that the window wouldn’t operate. They were able to put it in and seal it up for me. They had to come back to have a new one made and replace it, but that was done in a reasonable amount of time. Also, the houses are close -- there is only a couple of feet. So, the gentleman had to reach outside somehow to put the trim on the outside and one of valances broke. It was very minor, and they repaired that when they came to replace the windows. I washed my windows upstairs and I have to get used to how these operate as far as tilting in and out. But they seem to work fine and they close fine. I like the way they lock, too.

I don't see the need to have both my wife and I there for measuring and estimating the cost of replacing the windows. The whole process smells like a timeshare sales pitch! Maybe justified if we were financing the project but we aren't. As a result, you lost out on the opportunity of replacing 21 windows and a double sliding door.
Ed, thanks for taking a minute to let us know about your experience with us. I'm so sorry to hear it was a negative one. I want you to know that having all homeowners be present at the initial in-home consultation is not a requirement of ours. While we've found that it's often helpful to have everyone there during the consult, and homeowners tend to prefer that option (given the nature and scope of these types of remodeling projects), it is not required. I've been replacing the windows in my home in segments for the past 4 years. I've had multiple occasions where I've reached out to Renewal by Andersen to address drafts coming from the windows. On the first few occasions, I was told that everything was ok (even though there was frost building up in the windows in the house). I was told that it may be the humidifier that was causing the icing of the indoor windows. Of course, I contacted the HVAC people who informed me that the settings and humidifier were fine. Again I contacted Renewal By Andersen and was told that I should not let my shades down all of the way to avoid this from happening. I began to not let the shades down completely, but still continued to have the icing build-up on the windows inside the house.
The season changed to spring and I no longer had the problem; however, when winter returned I had the same problem. The repairmen came by and informed me that I did have some issues with the windows and put in a mechanism to provide a tighter seal. In August, I began to notice streaks in my windows. I was told that the sealant had to be replaced in all of the windows and the office would contact me for the replacement. After several weeks, I still had not heard back from Renewal By Andersen. I called the office and was told that they could not do the sealant replacement until December 2, 2019. Are you kidding me? I've got relatives coming from out of town and Holiday decorations in place in the windows.
When I spoke with the Representative from Renewal By Andersen regarding getting the repairmen in sooner, I was told...."which do you want the draft or the repair". Are you kidding me? It's obvious that he didn't have proper etiquette and was not aware of my 4 year history with leaks. When I spoke to the office regarding this, I received an apology and a...."he should not have said that"; however, I am still on the schedule to have the repairs made on December 2nd. I also requested a call back from my original repairmen who told me that I would only be dealing with him. After 3 weeks, I'm still waiting. Based on the problems that I've been having and the lack of response, I can not in clear conscience recommend Renewal By Andersen. My neighbor asked me who installed my windows because she was looking for new windows. I very quickly told her my experience. She decided to go elsewhere.

I had Andersen builder-grade windows in this house, and Renewal did a good job replacing them. I have 32 windows, so it took them a while, but they had it done in a couple of days. After the windows, I had a three-piece door, a French door, put in. The only issue is the price, because they're very expensive windows and doors, but they're nice and the quality is super.

My 1895 heritage house in Vancouver, BC was heating the outside universe through its leaky windows. I met Jewel at the local fair (PNE) who introduced me to Andersen windows. I signed up to get an estimate to replace 12 sets of double hung windows. Out came Cody with an estimate that was so expensive it blew my socks off. But I went ahead anyway because the product is so awesome. The windows arrived and were installed by an excellent crew. The house is now warm and I have received excellent value from the whole experience. Expensive yes, but worth every penny.

We had Renewal install a front entry door and they did really well. It's pretty expensive, but it's not any more so than the other higher quality doors. It's a quality product, and their installation crew did a really good job. We just had an issue with one sidelight, where the plating on the metal inside wasn't coated properly. So, they had to order a new one, and the installation crew ran up a work order before they left to get that under way. And then, they came out and replaced it five or six weeks later. That was the only issue we had and they took care of it right away.

We just paid our last payment for the replacement of 10 windows and a patio door. $22,000 and after 18month and one service call we were left with four windows which do not lock and seal properly. The service technician wrestled with the windows to lock them. It takes me 5 to 10 minutes to lock the window. The closure latches are poorly aligned and do not engage properly. Setting a appointment was challenge and frustrating. The technician was dismissive and rejected my claims. I was extremely disappointed with the window latch performance and associated response to my complaints. I was a faithful proponent of Anderson Windows. Never again. Joe **, Greenwich, NY 12834.

The patio door was installed in February of 2019. I rarely opened it during the winter. I live in Massachusetts. During the summer I was on vacation I used the door very little. Because the bottom lock of the door was installed too low, it damaged the door bottom and the rubber. Since I started using the door later on during the year, I found it out after 3 months after installation. Andersen told me that there is nothing they can do because the door has been installed almost after a year. Andersen does not want to take responsibility of their mistake.
Now I have 2 windows installed in September. They all have condensation on it. It is caused by cold air from outside coming into the room and meeting the hot air from inside of the room. Luckily, I had the windows installed during the winter. If they were installed during the summer and I had not noticed it, I would have 2 brand new windows leaking air all over the place. Do not trust Andersen's installation. They are not honest.

We were doing windows and siding at the same time and I didn't budget enough for windows and siding together. I was about 20 grand off. But RBA was offering 24 months of low payments. Also, the sales rep did an outstanding job of explaining the functionality and the differences of the windows. I decided to go with an independent siding company and we tried to fit their schedule and Renewal was very good at working with us. Once they got in there, they told us that it should take about a week and they were spot-on on that.
The guys that installed the windows were very professional, knowledgeable and great to work with. We had an incident where the big bayed out window broke during installation. They felt absolutely terrible and I got 30 apologies from the guys. But Renewal took care of it properly. We got sliders, some double-hung and one casement window. We also have a bayed out window where we have two casement windows and so far, we're very happy with them. I would highly recommend RBA.

Unfortunately I am writing my first negative review. I was initially impressed with Andersen's product. The installation process has not been ideal. The fist time someone came out to measure the windows it was done wrong and they and to come back and remeasure. No big deal, it happens. When the second person came out to take measurements he had to leave because of an emergency. That's fine, I get sometimes things come up. In a week he comes back, measures the windows and we are all set. We were told installation would be a one day job. We ordered six windows. The guys arrived at 9am on Saturday and were gone by 4pm. The guys said they were done for the day and someone would call on Monday to set up a time to finish installing. Ok, I can deal with this. (Even though the windows are being installed in my bedroom and my baby's room. I have no privacy and it's hard for my baby to stay asleep when the sunrises in the morning).
MONDAY, no phone call. My call goes unanswered. TUESDAY, they answer but the person who can help me isn't at her desk. She will call me back. No call back. WEDNESDAY, late afternoon I finally got a call back. They can fit me in 10 DAYS from now! This will make it two weeks from when they started the installation. Are you kidding me! I have three windows unfinished as I am writing this. Also, one of the "finished" windows is missing a piece. I also had to sweep up tons of glass off my driveway. When I purchased windows from Andersen, I had certain expectations. When you visit their website they claim to have set high standards for their customers. For example “Andersen is synonymous with quality and care” and “superior, hassle free installation” and that “they are with you every step of the way and your questions will be easily answered”. Sadly, this has not been my experience. I cannot even get someone to return my phone calls.

I would not recommend Renewal by Andersen. We had a terrible customer service experience - from being reprimanded for a positive survey review, to parts of the install being forgotten, to placing the blame on other employees, it was all awful. For the price of the product - it wasn't worth it. Our slider and window are beautiful, but we do not think the cost and product were worth the insanity we had to put up with, to get them.
We had high expectations - my family had used them recently and had a wonderful experience. But from the get go, it was an awful experience for us. Filled out a survey for them. Gave a positive review. Received an email reprimanding me for my opinion. Never received a confirmation call, when contacting the company about it - was told the employee was out a week ago on the date the call should have happened. Not sure why they couldn't call us during the following 4 business days.
Supposed to have trim installed around our new window. No one told the installer, and didn't supply the materials. Had to call 2 separate people to have it addressed - and find additional time for them to come back outside of the guaranteed one day install. After calling about the trim and how our new slider was filthy - all of the blame was placed on the installer (even after we clearly stated they did a great job). This left us in an uncomfortable position - when the installer called us back confused trying to find out why we thought he was "awful" and did "bad work" - words we never said, let alone said about him.
Installer came back on his own time for the trim (highly recommend him) - main office didn't bother reading any of the notes - and called us three days later to schedule our trim install. Received 4 phone calls in less than 2 hours from Andersen. 1st call telling us they'd schedule the building inspector and we didn't need to be home. 2nd call 20min later saying they left a message for the building inspector (why I needed to know this when I didn't need to be home is unknown). 3rd call was the call to schedule our trim that had already happened. 4th call was accounting saying they transcribed our credit card wrong and needed to confirm the number.
Received another call 2 days later - sent it to voicemail as I was in a meeting. He left me a voicemail. Less than 5min later called my husband, interrupting him at work, to relay the same message he'd left for me. Building inspector was scheduled. Why was this so important that a voicemail wouldn't have sufficed? Especially when we'd been told we didn't need to be home for it. Maybe we had the random bad experience and everyone else's is great. But it was such a headache from start to finish that I can't in good conscience recommend them to anyone.

The Andersen product is beautiful. There really is a quality difference. We had a large picture window with side casements replaced and a sliding door installed where an existing window was located. The sales approach was well - ‘salesy’ and less than satisfying or ideal. However, once in the hands of our project manager that all changed. He was thorough and communicated everything. He was on site multiple times during our full day install and was personable, genuinely.
The install team was the best. Don and his team were true craftsman, careful, checked in frequently, and made sure every detail was perfect. He followed up on minor things that needed to be repaired after the install - although at the time of this review (one week post install) no one from the central office has been in touch to send someone out to repair/touch up. That said if you are lucky enough to get Don and his install team they are great. I would definitely recommend Andersen but I would also suggest going by the showroom. The in-house folks were much more helpful in guiding our purchase decision than the in-home sales staff.

Renewal by Andersen did an excellent job on our windows. I took a chance on them because I liked the quality of the work they said they were gonna do, and they did what they said they would. First, the salesman came out and we talked with him. We got a double hung, a slider and two egress windows. Within two days, they were out to measure the windows. Three days after that, a guy was out to see if there was any lead paint in the windows, and there was. Then about four weeks after that, the windows came in and they said they could install those the next day. They came out and built a shelter around the windows and they installed them all in one day. That was pretty easy and they were ahead of schedule. They were expensive but the quality and the workmanship are there. And I'm hoping the windows last as long as I'm gonna be there.

We ordered sliding glass doors, bedroom windows and a window for the basement, and they are superior quality products. I live on a lake so we have a lot of wind. I had other Andersen windows before, but they were probably 20 to 30 years old and you could feel the wind coming. But standing by the window right now, you don’t feel much at all. Also, their installers were professional and they knew what they were doing. You pay a little more for these windows, but in the long run, their warranty is really good. They send you just a rounded number, though, when the best thing is to see an itemized bill of windows.

At first, the overall experience was going smoothly. Had the sales rep visit for a consultation. My spouse was not able to make the appointment, so we called him into the meeting to go over everything. We left thinking we had signed up for a financing plan with $0 down/0% interest in the first year. The installers team was fantastic and we are happy with the product. On feedback about the installation is that a handle was not included in one of the windows, so I'll need to make arrangements to take off work for the piece to be installed.
Then we received a bill from the loan company that included interest. The Sales Rep did not leave behind a written document or email to us the financing plan we signed for, we were confused. We emailed the company and got a call back from the sales rep where he explained that we must have have misheard him and that there was nothing they could do. In short, take a picture of the financing agreement since you will not get that in writing at the consultation nor will it be emailed to you before the agreement is sent to the loan company.
LeNaya, thank you for taking the time to provide us your feedback and being so detailed. I'm taking this back to the team right away.

We'll just have to see how they perform in the Minnesota winter here, as far as being warmer than the ones that were taken out. But so far, I'm very happy with it, and I might change some more out.

I would never replaced those old windows with the new windows. Now they are trying charge me for those vent locks These windows are waste of money. Now I can't leave my windows open. Renewal should tell their customers that there is a extra charge for those vent locks. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

First of all I love my new windows...but...they are very heavy. They are hard to open. I am a senior citizen and do not have much strength in my hands. I tried to make the windows open up to the "wash the other side" position and it was impossible because they are so heavy. I just thought I should mention something for other seniors living alone. Besides that the windows keep my home very warm in the winter.

The double hung windows I got from Renewal are quality windows and they also have the financing plan. It’s a complete job where I don’t have to do anything, but stand or whatever. The salesperson was really nice, took the time, showed me everything, helped with different options and gave me a cost and it was good. The installers were a little late one morning, but it was on a Monday so they had to go get their truck and stuff. They were good, very polite and clean. There was a little foam splatter on some of my furniture, but not too bad. I like the windows. But I had a little moisture on the windows already and I was kinda surprised about that. They’re also a little overpriced. I’d recommend them, though. But if they were just a little bit cheaper, more people would probably get them.

The sales person came in, looked everything over and said, “Here’s what we should do, and we'll get it ordered and we'll go from there." They did a nice job. And if the door holds up the way it is, they may get a chance to do some more next year.

We were very surprised since we weren’t ready. But the rep was very nice, and so was the contact person. They called to make sure that everything was set up on time. It worked out very well and we were very pleased. Also, the installers cleaned up after themselves. I didn’t have to do anything. Before I knew it, the windows were in. When they’re completely closed, it’s quiet as can be. You can’t hear anything. They’re the upstairs bedroom windows so it’s working out perfect.

We purchased 2 doors and a matching storm door from Renewal by Andersen of Central Florida. The in-home design consultant, Darren **, stated that the doors were to be custom-built for our home and that all work including installation was to be done by in-house personnel. That was his selling point which he emphasized numerous times. Quality Custom in-house construction and installation. We were convinced by that statement and entered into a contract paying half of the cost upfront. It took 3 months for the doors to be made and this was expected as per contract. What was not expected was another 2 week set back because they didn't have the parts after they had given us a date for Installation. Installation as per contract was to take 1-2 days.
Upon the first attempt at installation once they had the parts, the installers took 7 hours to install doors that did not hang correctly. My side door had a 1/2 inch gap on the top right corner from the jamb and you could see the sky through it from the inside. When I questioned Patrick the in-house installer, he replied, "I have seen worse". For my front door there was gaps on all 4 corners. The CUSTOM made storm door was not installed because Patrick stated that either he didn't know what he was doing or the door was the wrong size. It was left in my garage. The Supervisor, Chris came out 4 days later, calling me twice to change his original appointment time. He was over 2 hours late.
Once he arrived and "evaluated" the situation, he determined that the problem was that the installers installed the doors without all of the parts. He assured me that the parts would be found or reordered. Second installation attempt was scheduled for October 2nd. The 2 new installers, Terry and Brett, arrived on time and began their attempt. Terry was attempting to correct the side door and asked me to inspect his work. Not only was there still a gap and Lord knows how many visible screws but the facing of my $2500.00 CUSTOM made door was splitting away from its frame.
I told Terry that this was unacceptable and I did not want the door and to not complete the installation because there was no point in dressing up a substandard door, just finished with the front door and storm door. Terry then informed me that I was under contract and that I did not understand that I was required to allow him to complete the work. He then asked if I was a "believer", because a "believer" would not be that way. I then told Terry to get out of my garage. He asked again, "Are you a believer," I said, "Take your tools and God and get out of my garage," which he did. I said please just finish the front door and storm door.
I called Chris, the Supervisor and asked him to come to my house asap. His asap was approximately 2 hours, meanwhile, Terry and Brett are still attempting to install the storm door. After they tried to jammed it in with 25 million screws, they decided that they needed to cut the CUSTOM made door, which they did and the door still did not fit, even with 25 million more screws. The storm door would not close because its handle hit the front door handle. Chris finally arrived and made the decision that the storm door was the wrong size and that the side door was substandard. It should be mentioned that there were 2 separate measurements made before the doors were CUSTOM made. One by ** and the second by Chris.
Bottom line, I do not have acceptable doors, no storm door, exposed wood, screw holes everywhere. I have no time frame as to when they will replace the side door or receive the storm door or when the job will be completed nor does the company. If this is what custom-built doors by Andersen or custom installed doors by Andersen is, they should rename it, "Malcolm X Custom", we install by any means necessary... But don't count on getting your doors. Jovann **

At three months we get a call for scheduling our install, but on that day no one shows up or calls. When I call to find out what is happening they need to get back to me. Two days later I call back to only be told someone will call me. The next day they call me back and set up install. On install day we ordered 8 windows and they only have 7. No one seems to have an answer about the 8th window. I have called twice and they tell me someone will call (they never do). The installers said someone will call. I’m wondering if they expect to be paid for a job not done? I would suggest going with a different window company, their windows are good but at what cost. No one has a good enough product to be able to treat their customers this way!

My husband does his homework, and we checked with other window retailers. We liked Renewal by Andersen because they’re well-known, and I’ve never heard anything bad about them. And we thought we’d have somebody come out. We told him the problems that we had, and we didn’t wanna go too high in money because we’re seniors. He was very knowledgeable and guided us the way. He said that he would do it. And so, we trusted him. Their rep wasn’t pushy and was really nice, and that’s the main thing. I don’t care how good a product is, if you’ve got somebody pushy, then you think, “Well, I’m not sure about that.”
We had a backdoor put in and we have a patio cover that covers that door. So, I think it’ll last as long as we’re here. Everything was absolutely wonderful. The fellow that came out to put the door in was great. He called when he was on the way and was here on time. He took care of everything, cleaned everything up and was very pleasant. It was a great experience.
The quality of the door was great too until I heard the price. So, that cut down my buying jewelry. Nobody’s gonna see it but you get what you pay for. It’s a well-made heavy door, and it’s one glass. And our dog loves to look and put her nose against it to see us. The only thing we’re having trouble is getting the screen door. But other than that, everything’s great. Renewal by Andersen's a good company that’s reputable and they’ve got nice people. We’ve been very happy with them. If we had to have windows put in years before, I would’ve gone with the windows that the rep was suggesting. But we had already done it.

I’ve had a couple of small problems with the windows and they’ve been attentive. For example, I can’t get one of the screens out of the windows, and the guy is actually coming over on Tuesday. He’s gonna order some new screens for me, free of charge. The installation of the windows was very good too. The were out for two days. A two-man crew was out for two days for half of the windows which are kind of the smaller windows, and for the large bay windows, a larger crew came the next day to put those. They let me sit and watch how they do it. They put all the insulation in and took the time to level everything, and made sure the windows went in square. The windows are absolutely gorgeous.

I found out Renewal by Andersen was the same company and I was very happy. One of my neighbors asked me about the door if it was a little difficult to open and I said I thought so. She called and Renewal by Andersen came back four days later to fix it. They put a new screen door for her and they didn’t charge her, which was what I liked about it. They stand behind their work and when you call them, they won't give you the runaround.
Renewal replaced all my windows upstairs, and later on, I needed to replace my downstairs and I went directly to them. They told me how long they were gonna be and they told me they were gonna be here for two days. They came and painted the frames and later on, something in the door was not lined up correctly and before the rep left, he told me that but they were gonna come and fix it. They came back and took care of it and I'm very pleased. I’m very satisfied with Renewal by Andersen.

Hi Deb, thanks for taking a minute to let us know about the experience you had with one of our teams. I have your contact info and zip code so I'll be reaching out to the location right away with this feedback so that their management can look into it. Just so you know, requiring all homeowners to be home for their free in-home consultation is not a policy of ours. We have found in the past that given the nature and scope of these types of remodeling projects, the homeowners we meet with find it helpful to have everyone present at the consultation. But I do want to assure you it is not a requirement. I'm sorry about the miscommunication. We'll be contacting the team right away this morning. Have a great rest of your week.

My wife and I just had two sets of sliding glass patio doors installed for right around 15K. Everything went well; the doors seem excellent (time will tell!). They are argon-filled double pane low-e glass. Our patio does not get a great deal of sun but is, of course, exposed to cold in the winter, so we look forward to the benefits. I would have given a five-star review, esp. with Andersen's local choice of installation crew, who were pleasant to work with and did a good job. The only bittersweet part was their upfront salesperson.
"Scott" did a good job of selling us what we needed and moving everything forward. When I emailed him (three times!) to inquire how Andersen compared to another company that utilized and instant, electronic privacy glass, he would absolutely NOT respond to me. I could not believe it! The doors I asked Scott about were probably much more expensive and not applicable for our use, but the fact that once he made the sale but then would not respond to my emails after the fact, prompt me to NOT call him for further sales.
Since we had replaced all of our windows in our home just a few years ago, I believe Scott thought there were no more sales to be made. As a *former* salesman, I would remind every salesperson to always be aware of future potential sales, and to never alienate a possible customer. As I've mentioned though, the doors seems great and the installation was seamless. Nate, Garrett, and their installation helper (sorry, I've forgotten his name), were great, and overall this was not a bad installation. I look forward to many years of quality performance from our new patio doors!

My experience with Renewal by Andersen has been really good for the most part. The techs who came out to install were great. The windows are beautiful, however, they sent the wrong kitchen window and they were supposed to swap out the hardware. As soon as they came and swapped out, they had half the window with the right hardware but the other half of the window still has the wrong hardware and it’s unordered. We upgraded the hardware with the brushed nickel and then we added the window at the end. We told them that we upgraded the hardware, but they said the window would be standard, which is the brown-looking hardware. The first install was at the end of June and we’re still waiting for them to come back and replace that. They said it was gonna be done, 1-2-3, but we’re now past the middle of September.
Then, we were looking where we had the drapes installed and on the bottom part on one window, I noticed that there is a hole in the drywall that’s not patched. It’s a big hole that they left and I guess I would just patch it. Still, we’re really happy with the windows and the sliding door. We have skunks in the neighborhood and the whole time before, we would be smelling the skunk smell in the house. Now, we don't smell the skunk smell inside the house at all. One night, I was going to let the dog out and when I opened up the door, I got hit with the smelly skunk. Overall, we recommend Renewal by Andersen.

This is strictly on the sales experience. The sales rep that came to my house was very personable and professional. He wanted to provide his spiel on the windows and what separates Andersen in the market. I explained that I was looking to replace 7 windows. He asked if I wanted to hear finance options. I said no, not right now as it depended on the cost of the windows. He then stated that if I were going to base my criteria strictly on cost then he was going to be the most expensive and that it probably wouldn't be a good fit.
He asked what the estimates were that I had already received. I told him. He said he would be more than this, most likely over 16K. I never saw a sample window, he never took measurements. He just basically assumed I was strictly price driven I guess or he based it off of the fact that I live in a condo and therefore didn't want to spend the money? Not sure. He was at my house less than 10 minutes. I appreciate that he didn't want to waste my time, but honestly whatever window I decide to go with I'm paying cash. I'm not financing and I think he jumped to assumptions.

Then was told I needed to give them information on what needed to be replaced! Two of their techs (the initial installation tech and the second tech from the wasted visit) had already taken pictures and put the product number in their system to order. At that point they told me the part was ordered.
I called back several times (the customer service department has a hard time doing their job) and was told the part arrived. They scheduled another appointment for today at 9. I have called the Austin, Texas location and emailed to stop with the junk mail with no resolution. Enough. Stop the spam.
Darrel, I'm very sorry to hear about the unwanted emails and mailers. I can help. I have your address, but want to confirm that the email you used on this site is the one you'd like to unsubscribe. First let me say I decided to utilize Renewal by Andersen services and products because of their premium Windows reviews, customer service, and expertise with installation. Unfortunately I have been very disappointed with the installation on the outside of my home. Large gaps were left on the top of each window and raw wood was cracked and exposed. I took several pictures and spoke with several customer service representatives on multiple occasions but still no resolution and it has been over 3 months since my install date.
I ended up having to finish the job myself due to lack of response. I still have one seal on a window that is rolled but can't get anyone to repair after many attempts to call various representatives. Before Andersen leaves on the day of the install please triple check all work - based on my experience you will have trouble having anything done after you sign the paperwork on the day the installers leave. My fault for not getting on a ladder to inspect all work. I spent a lot of money for professional service which I didn't receive.

Well first we called and got an appointment for an estimate. They came out within a week, on time and ready to give us an estimate based on what we needed done and also gave us some ballpark ideas on future projects. The person was nice and I felt comfortable asking him questions. After we made a down payment and the windows came in they set up an appointment for install. We ended up needing to change it a few times on our end due to another project (driveway issues). They did not give us any problems and on the day we scheduled they came out on time.
The people working, Taras and Yurri **. had such a great work ethic. They came happy, clean, talked about the project, nice to nosy neighbors but kept working hard the whole time. I was amazed at their work. We did the whole upper story windows and they make each room look remodeled. I had no idea new windows could make such a difference. The windows I chose were easy to use and came with screens. Yurri patiently showed me how to use them and take them out to clean. (They also didn’t complain about how bad my old windows were) This pair of guys worked well together, I feel very lucky to have had them on my job. I can’t speak for how everyone else’s crew works but I stand behind these two. At the end I checked over everything and signed off on the job. When I decide to do the downstairs windows I will use Renewal by Andersen.

Wish I had read reviews prior - I had 2 friends who had great results with their windows and did not look deeper into the outfit. The door design allowed for inadequate opening of the slider. For this much $ they should have easily been able to cut the bumper and plug in an exterior door handle that would add 3.5" more to the opening width. They came out said "this is the window you bought - here look at the contract! If you modify the window in any way the warranty is VOID!"
I should have arranged to pay them directly in increments with 20% withheld for final approval rather than falling for a Green Sky interest free loan. The trim job on the door had some flaws and the window turned out to be warped so it didn't close properly. They will not come out to attempt to fix this for over a month - we can't shellac and finish up AND I have zero confidence they can properly fix these problems. I should have done it myself or used Lowe's with a special side agreement with the installation contractor for finishing. I would have saved at least $2,000 and a lot of aggravation.

Kyle came to our home prepared for any questions we could throw at him. The sample product and demonstration in keeping the heat out (a necessity in Arizona) is what sold us. Having worked for a window manufacturing company in the past I knew what to ask from the casement to the frame to the type of glasses and process they used to make the custom windows.
The installation crew came out on time and worked tirelessly through a 115 degree day to get our windows in before the hottest part of the day. Although they experienced a little difficulty in removing a few of the old windows in our stucco sided home, they were very communicative as to the issues. There was some minor damage to drywall from the reciprocating saw cutting from the outside they quickly arranged to repair it. The key to our satisfaction is they communicated with us from the sales visit to getting the repairs set up and taken care of and every step in between.
Hi Rhett - thanks so much for your honest feedback. We really appreciate it. And thanks for trusting our team with the job. Please don't hesitate to reach out should you need us in the future. Enjoy your windows!

Immediately after installation we notice the new metal door was buckling in the corner of the window in the door, almost like someone tightened a screw too much. We had Andersen take a look. They assured us we dented the door. A year later we noticed the door buckled in the same spot on the outside of the door, an identical instance of the corner by the window caving in. We had an Andersen technician come out to assess the door again, and this time he agreed the door had a manufacturing flaw given the unusual similarities in how the door warped around the window edges.
Andersen, despite the obvious manufacturing flaw, ultimately told us the door is now out of warranty. Keep in mind we first raised this issue soon after the door was installed, well within the warranty. The customer service woman was so rude and obnoxious. I just wish I never bought doors from this window company. Buyers beware. Don't buy doors from a window company.
Good morning, Isaac. First, thanks for taking a minute to let us know about your experience with us. I received a quote from Renewal By Anderson today. It was insanely expensive. Two windows after supposedly good discounts was $5500 and 4 windows was $8000. This is just out of the range of reality. I can go by top of the line Anderson windows regular install windows for 1/3 this number (which my sales person agreed was true). Replacement windows are supposed to less expensive. I found it disturbing that he tried to tell me that their replacement windows are better than the original product. I guess people pay these crazy prices, but I think everyone needs to do more research. All this was a waste of time. I will look for a quality less expensive option.
Good morning, Arlene. I'm not really sure what original Andersen product you're comparing our windows to, but our windows are made of Andersen's exclusive Fibrex material. I would not recommend Renewal by Andersen. We had trouble from the day of the installation. One window was installed incorrectly and during the heavy rains one window had a massive leak because the window was installed improperly. When Andersen returned to fix the leak they told us we had to buy a different window because to fix the leak they needed to do additional framing which would cost several thousand dollars more. After standing our ground Andersen came up with a solution so we did not have to purchase a new window. Problem solved but very stressful.
The installation took many visits because of various issues. We ordered black frames and once the new windows were installed we noticed a silver chrome line at the top of two windows which was not on the third window. These windows do not match the other windows in the house, they face the street, and look awful. Austen our project manager was emailed and contacted about this issue and has not returned our calls or email. Of course, because we already paid in full. I would never use this company again, nothing but problems.

I’ve been satisfied with everything that’s been put in, but I have a window that cracked because of stress. It was one that was put in prior to these last two. Other than that, everything was fine.

Then happen the breakdown. They replaced three windows and one sliding glass door, however they never did the finish work so there was gaping areas around the windows and around the sliding glass door.
After numerous calls and numerous no-shows from Renewal by Andersen after nine months the job was completed. I am not happy with the service I received from Renewal by Andersen, nobody took responsibility for answering us or making sure our job is completed. It took 9 months to complete a simple job. Despite numerous calls regarding the state of my home, no one ever stopped taking our money or offered a monetary compensation for our inconvenience. I would NEVER, repeat NEVER, recommend Renewal by Andersen or say anything positive because of the experience I had with Renewal by Andersen was horrible. The windows look good, they appear to operate well, however my concern now is if we ever have a problem who’s going to respond. Save your money if you need this done quickly. Over the past weekend, Renewal by Andersen had a sales rep at the local hardware store and although I said we were all set, he continued to make a sales pitch. Walking away I said "they're too expensive" and his reply - "not for everyone"!!
The audacity and arrogance to make such a statement is deeply troubling. Is that their marketing strategy to convey quality by overcharging and/or, is their sales force just pompous ** wanting to instigate strife with folks that aren't interested in their Kool-Aid? I am fortunate or blessed, to have done well financially and I can afford to pay more for a better product but, I and no one should be paying for Andersen's extensive advertising or listen to pretentious and idiotic sales rep(s). The rep we dealt with was perfectly fine, too. We had two sliding patio doors installed. Renewal by Andersen told us there would be a certain number of weeks when the doors would be in. But then, they ended up calling and saying something happened. I don't know if the doors got back ordered or they had some scheduling issues, but then they had to push us off for a couple of weeks, and we scheduled the installation. So, the installation ended up a couple of weeks later than we originally had planned.
During the installation, there were two guys here and they were clean with their work. They were really neat. They were respectful of the home and our family, too. They took their time and they talked me through a couple of things that popped up. They let me know what was going on and then after they did it, they walked me through everything and showed me all about the doors and their different features. So, they did a good job. We're very happy with the finished product. And even from the beginning when we went through the presentation to the very end of the installation and the follow-ups, we've been very pleased with the whole process.

Had the sales person come by and they spent their time convincing me to spend the money on these doors with a really nice interest rate and 6 months same as cash/no payments. Turn around and unsurprisingly my credit wasn't good enough for this deal and was talked into a higher interest rate but the six months same as cash/no payments was completely ignored and the fact that this feature was not part of the deal was not mentioned. I pointed out several times I wanted this in order to get my finances in a bit better order and do some "house cleaning." Find out today that my payment is due starting next month which is not what I expected. The windows and door were well installed and the guys did a good job cleaning up. Too bad their sales and finance are such scam artists. Do this if you can pay upfront. Sadly wasn't in my budget for the year (my mistake) but will go with a different vendor for the rest of the house when I have the money.

The windows that they took off of my house was kept overnight in my yard w/o my notification. A bag of trash was left in my master bedroom overnight, filthy blinds was put on my toddler bed, my furniture wasn’t put back in place.
Blinds were left in my floor (all tangled up), glass left in my yard, branches broke off my tree was left in my yard. I had to suggest a walkthrough, white chalk used on the front of my house, and clear used in the back, no rotten wood replaced, windows wasn’t clean and my curtain was left lying around. In January 2019 we replaced all of our main floor and upper level windows and installed a sliding glass door where we had French doors. More that 43k later, we have pretty windows during the day, but about a third of our evenings and early mornings we can't see out of the windows because they are fogged up so badly with condensation on the outside of the windows. ALL of the windows. Also appears that there is sticker residue on a couple of the windows. Andersen has been out twice to "clean" the windows, stating that there may be a film on them that was not removed properly.
Months later, I still clearly see a huge circle in our living room window, and all of the windows continue to fog. This evening is it 74 degrees in our home, 72 degrees outside and all of the windows and sliding glass door are fogged. I am SO disappointed and will never recommend Andersen. Friendly people, but absolutely no resolution at this point. I have a lot of photos of the fogging and we've been sending them in. Our experience with RBA has been the ultimate worst ever and we have renovated two homes so this review is being stated, not lightly and with experience with many contractors & companies over the past 12 years. Our windows were ordered in November and after we placed the order the salesperson never actually placed the order. When we tried to cancel we were told that we had already been charged 1/2 the amount and it was non-refundable. When I told them to hold on to ordering so that I could see what the financing company had to say they went ahead and ordered the windows.
The financing company is obviously owned by RBC because they were not able to help in any way. Their contract does not protect the consumer at all & the things the sales person told us were absolute lies. The windows were installed in April and the crew that installed them blocked our roadway after I instructed them where to park, had loud music with profanities playing in our suburban family neighborhood and then at the end of installation they told me all my plantation shutters are not operational & the functionality of the window is deterred because of the plantation shutters. SCAM!!!!
The sales person went over and over about how beautiful the windows would look with the plantation shutters and the person that measured even mentioned them...Now we are getting a letter from the VP acting like he is doing us a favor by attempting to make his product operation. I’m wondering if it’s only because we haven’t signed the paperwork that the job is complete and they can’t charge us the other 1/2 of the amount. DO NOT USE RBA. Our neighbors whom our sales person said loved the RBA windows were not pleased and went with another company to do the remainder of their home.
The VP is now sending us an email that says that page 8 section 8 states that RBA cannot guarantee the proper fit of window treatments...How kind of them...This is a money scam. All the people are older adults and are not idiots. They know exactly what they are doing and are just trying to get any $ they can without regard for the actual person, home and community.

Once I got settled, I went to Home Depot to compare the same door which was the Frenchwood 400 series. Home Depot priced out the same door with install for 3500.00 dollars less. On top of that, I was led to believe that the installers from Andersen were badged employees, and they are not. Good thing I did not close on a second door that I have and the 36 windows that I was considering doing with them. I will never buy a door or window from this company again. I do want to clarify the difference between Renewal by Andersen and a retailer like Home Depot. Renewal by Andersen is full-service - that means we cover everything from sales and manufacturing to installation, service, and warranty. And we hire qualified, carefully vetted installers—and ALL of the install crews (whether they are employees or contracted) receive the same extensive training in our products and our business and the Renewal by Andersen installation process. In addition, many of our installers complete the Certified Master Installer Program, which is an in-depth training program developed and led by each retailers specialists. We have install specialists who have been with us for many, many years. We do not sub out individual jobs to the lowest bidder; we hire installers and crews who pass our screening and training process.

They also damaged a Cable TV line and it took them weeks to make this simple repair. As far as the product, they still use the old so called "lick and stick" trim that many other companies don't use any more. The interactions with the rep were very good and during the installation process, the installers gave me a timeline and they came in on time. They started doing their thing, let me know that they would be in my way and they did it in a day. They were very professional. I had two small double-hung windows with a big picture window in between the first time I had Renewal by Andersen. I had that all replaced with one big window that has two sliders, one in each end. This last time, I had them design a kitchen window for me because I had two double-hung windows there, and they didn't work very well. It was so bad that I broke one of the windows. They designed one and put that in, and four double-hungs, two in each bedroom. I’ll have more down the line and I would recommend Renewal by Andersen to anybody.

The Renewal by Andersen team, from beginning to end were a pleasure to work with and speak with about our replacement window needs and expectations. The window was installed today. Our installers respected both us and our home. The window is beautiful. When the job was completed the work areas inside and outside were cleaned up of any debris and we were thanked for choosing RBA. Well done and thank you so much.

We ordered three windows and one set of French doors. Upon delivery, we found that two windows had defective glass and the French doors had defective frames. When the replacements finally arrived we had one window with defective glass and the doors still had the same frame defects. We were told this is a known defect from the factory. We got the window replaced and the defective frames repaired. However, when all was said and done we still didn't really have a finished installation. The inside trim was unfinished wood with gaps between trim and drywall. The outside was roughly trimmed with unfinished pine and a lot of caulk, with jagged metal on one joint. At this point I elected to finish the job myself. Also, after all the delays the customer feedback form had expired and they wouldn't provide another one. Considering the cost of the project I was very disappointed.
Good morning, Michael. Thanks for letting us know about your experience. I'm passing your feedback along to the team you worked with right away so they can look into it on their end.

First, the installers scratched up the frame around the screens on one of the windows which I'm still waiting to get replaced. Second, now there's a seam that's opened up on one of the windows where it attaches to the frame inside in the kitchen. I paid a lot of money for these windows which I thought were top of the line and so far I am not impressed. I expected better than this especially for the price I paid. And I am concerned that this will happen to the rest of the windows that were installed.

Renewal by Andersen put windows in the back of my house and they made a very positive difference. When I went to redo the kitchen, I used them again. I got two kitchen windows from them this time. The installers were very professional. They did really good work and cleaned up after themselves. They were very work-oriented and there was not a lot of socializing. They even brought their own water and everything. They met the expected timeline too. I would have liked to have had the work done faster but it was worth the wait. Living in Arizona, the windows are wonderful. Renewal is worth the investment.

Renewal by Andersen had a promotion and it was buy one, get one window at 40% off. When I called them, it turned out that it wasn’t exactly that, but it was still a good deal. It was also easy to schedule someone who would come out and take a look. The whole process was incredible and I was super impressed. The guy who came out was very knowledgeable, really friendly and very respectful. He told me how much it would cost. Then he scheduled the guy to come out and do the measuring and all the other stuff. And that guy was fantastic. They offered to give me another percent off if I signed that day, which I did. I was already gonna go with it if it came in within my budget, so it wasn't really a hard sell for me. I could also finance it without putting any money down which was a great deal.
Essentially, I replaced the windows with a similar style where the large section in the middle doesn’t open and the two on the side are sliders. Everybody who was involved was great and the whole thing was fantastic. I already recommended Renewal by Andersen to someone else. I’m absolutely thrilled with the windows. They're beautiful and I love them.

We needed to replace about 30 windows in our 25-year-old home. I conducted quite a bit of research to determine which company to go with. Each company visited us, measured windows and sent us a quote. Renewal by Andersen (RA) is different however. RA requires that both spouses participate in a 90-minute sales pitch, which concludes with a “commit contractually now” discount. We were impressed with the window quality even though the price was almost twice as much as the second contender, Pella.
After ~ 6 weeks build time, we experienced the normal sloppiness of installation workers and RA dutifully addressed all of that. The more meaningful problem however, is that you cannot install inside-mount cellular shades on RA windows (at least ours). This resulted in a >$9K unexpected expense to an already high priced project. Fenstermann Blinds, a German company with German prices, provide the only solution (who interestingly was very familiar with the RA limitation in this regard). Most internally mounted cellular blinds cannot be used as they are 1.5 to 2 inches deep and RA windows allow only a ½ inch for blind installation.
RA’s response that “it’s in the contract”. That statement, while being accurate, does not hold much moral weight given you have a “sign now” discount pressuring you to sign and not read a contract. Ideally, the salesperson would have explained the fine print as a part of an ethical sales process. I spoke with the regional manager, Mark **, about this suggesting that I would go ahead and buy the remaining $16K of windows if RA would consider a token discount to acknowledge the unexpected blinds expense ($1 k to $2 k for example). Have not heard anything back from RA yet and do not expect to.
Good morning, Napier. Thanks for taking a minute to let us know about your experience. I'm sorry to hear that it was an unpleasant one. I'm going to pass this feedback along to the team right away so they can take a look at it and reach out to you about it. Please stay tuned.

We had a couple windows done by Andersen and they were great. We were waiting to have more money to do the bigger picture window in the living room. The rep told us that they were not selling the same windows. They had an upgrade and it costs more. But we misunderstood him. So we had Home Depot who had the same windows, install the bigger window but they hired the poorest installers that the least money could buy. Although it was not a bad job, it wasn't a professional one either.
I had stucco and a little was chipped before they started. I asked the guy to finish it off but he didn't have a product to do that. Then, he wanted to charge me more money to have it done but I said no. So he came back but I wasn't home. My husband said he pulled the product to fix the problem out of his truck and it was all dried up. Also, I was gonna have Home Depot come out again and put it in the other windows. They were sending out a guy to measure but he didn't show up. The guy called me and said he hadn't gotten the job ticket to call me and come out from Home Depot.
So I paid at least $1,500 more to get an Andersen installer and got a really good, professional and quickly done job. They handled everything. It was expensive but I wasn't stressing out whether the job is done right or if I have ethical people working in my house. The quality of the windows they installed was great. We've got them in just when the hot weather was coming in and it has kept the house much cooler. We love Renewal by Andersen and it was worth the extra money. If it wasn't so expensive, we would have gotten the rest of the windows done but we gotta do it whatever the way we can.

So, we are very satisfied.
They gave us an outline of how long it would take the windows to be manufactured. It took about six weeks which was within the time frame they gave us. They did everything they said they would do. It was a one-day service and it was fabulous. We also had 10 windows replaced by RBA before and now, we came back for 10 more. We're very pleased with it. My house was buillt in 2000 and the windows that I had were so crappy and didn't even have a name on them. I figured I will put in a quality window and something that was gonna last. Andersen Windows has a very good reputation for windows and I figured that the resale value with Andersen Windows would be much better than Jose's Windows that he made in his basement last week. I bought a whole bunch of stuff from Andersen. I still have a huge picture window that I didn't do at the time but I'll probably be calling the Renewal by Andersen rep again.
The installers were good. They were here a little early on the first day and that was nice. They started unloading all the trucks and got started on the windows. The guy doing the outside work was literally running off the ladder. He was working his tail off. Then they sent two guys to do the windows and another crew to do the sliders. Because I had two big sliders to be done, those guys worked strictly on the sliders. One of the guys found some rot under the old slider when he took it out. He took all the rotted wood out and put a new piece in before he put the new slider in. That was a nice touch. I bought everybody steak tips and then we had a good time.
We had an issue with some of the sliders though. When they unpacked it, it had some broken pieces so I set up an appointment with Renewal by Andersen. On the 31st of July, they're coming back to replace those pieces that were damaged. But other than that, the Renewal by Andersen crew was outstanding. They were also very respectful of the house. They put down tarps and they cleaned up really good. The woodwork was great when they were done and everything was perfect.

Having the representative in our home did not feel very uncomfortable, they were knowledgeable, (NOT overtly aggressive! ...past experiences with other companies was unpleasant), and ready to address our concerns and work with us on finding solutions. Financing team member gave us a sense of confidence and security with the financing process. The entire measurement and installation staff were amazing and professionally courteous, and the office staff have all contributed to our end satisfaction with the windows installation process. Of course, the windows are wonderful and I have already recommended Renewal by Andersen Replacement Windows to family and friends. Again, fantastic process!

My aunt used Renewal by Andersen and her windows were great. We looked at some local guys and the prices were comparable, but the ability to finance helped us be able to do the whole house at one time. Everything was fantastic with Renewal from the guys to the windows. Mark came out for the estimate and he was professional and very helpful through the whole process. The guys who installed the windows then made sure everything was clean. They even helped me clear the windows because we weren’t told which ones they were doing first. My husband had left for the day so they had to help me move all the stuff out of the way of the windows. They did that with ease and without messing anything up.
The windows are great. It’s been so hot lately. We didn't go outside for the past couple of days because it was over 100 degrees with the humidity. But you wouldn’t know that from being inside our house. That was the first true test of the windows. You walk up to the big window in the front, touch it, and you would not feel any of the heat from outside.

He was very businesslike and friendly, too. There were a couple of things in there that we didn’t know about. We got rotten wood and he just went about replacing them then explained it to us. So, he took his time and he was here for the better part of the day.
So far, we are very happy with the quality of our new door. Our other one opened but this one is a slider. We now have better view looking out in the back and watching the deer. We also had Renewal by Andersen come out and adjust the lock on the door. Then we had an emergency while we were here and the guy went about taking care of that, then he left. We didn’t even know that the man had left but he finished doing what he was doing and we were very happy with him. It's just that he left and didn't say anything. We had two Renewal By Andersen sliding glass doors installed in Oct 2018. During the installation the doors were found to have manufacturing defects. Since the defects were visual and did not affect the function of the door, they finished installation and ordered new doors. Approximately 6 weeks later the new doors showed up and again, the doors were defective. The finish was scratched on one and the other was so warped that it would not fit into the slot in the frame to close. Again, two more doors were ordered and scheduled for install. The next install date had to be rescheduled 3 times due to "manufacturing issues" at the factory. The 3rd set of doors finally showed up and were installed on Apr 27, 2019. And while they look and function great, we were expecting far better factory quality for the price we paid.
We are extremely happy with the Arizona distributor and their installation team, absolute professionals and great to deal with. The doors are nice, as they should be for $15,000 for the pair. If you are willing to be flexible and wait for six months as we did, they will eventually get you the product you paid for. There are several good door and window companies to choose from, some less $ and some more $. Do good research before you decide and pay attention to review dates as they tell a story for current conditions. Maybe hold off payment until installation is final? RBA, please don't feel obligated to copy and paste one of your stupid canned replies I have read on the other negative reviews. Updated on 08/18/2019: I don't see my earlier review about Andersen. We ordered both windows and French doors in April. Window were installed correctly. My French doors had a crack on the left panel. I was told that they would make a new one in MN. In the meantime, they didn't have the correct hardware. We now have blackish bronze door knobs, and bright golden brass. After waiting a long time to schedule a return appointment, we were scheduled to finish the job Aug. 6th. They came on time... but again they did NOT have the correct parts.. No door hinges. At least they had a door panel, but We are STILL waiting to hear from them as to when we will finally have this project done.
So from April to mid-August; we are still waiting. Meanwhile my girlfriend also had her windows changed. She chose a local company and was finished in a few weeks. Wondering why this is happening to us??? FYI They will hard sale you: they will give you a discount BUT only if you take it while the salesman is in your house. Make them your last call because not everyone can afford them. While we do like the windows, I just can't give them more stars because the wait is ridiculous.
Original Review: Things you should know: yes their products are the best, if you have the sales rep come to your house he will give you a quote but it's a, "Take it now or the price goes up" if I leave situation. Make them your last call. They are not cheap, so expect to pay a premium. We used them because my husband did like their windows and looked at them at an Expo ahead of time. So the decision was already made to get them.
On installation day, the team came and the crew did a fine job and did a very nice clean up. Had two Supervisors come to watch demo. They saw the workmen carrying heavy windows out and neither bothered to help. Wish they were here at the end of of the day cause that's when things go wrong. Our windows came out great. Just FYI, noticed that there are no handhelds to open or close. But the French doors are not finished. Our doors are white and we ordered white handles. We got brass hinges, bronze handles and a black threshold. Also one door panel had a crack in it, so they have to remake it in Minnesota.
It's been a month now, still waiting. They will give you a list of "team members", but most of them don't answer your e-mails nor answer your phone call. I finally got one nice guy to look into it. He says while the hardware is here, there doesn't seem to be any order for a new panel. Hard to make plans wondering when the doors will be finished. We also were having security screen doors put in, but that's now on hold because they need to see the measurements of a finished French door. I live in LA, hoping the Torrance team can fix this matter. Seem like nice people...if you can catch them.
Nancy, first I want to thank you for letting us know about your experience so far. I'm very sorry about the inconvenience and I can understand why you're frustrated. I'm going to pass this feedback along to the team in LA and I'm also going to pass it along to our production team so they can give you a better idea of timeline. Stay tuned.

I am a retired senior citizen and on February 1, 2019 I had purchased two brand new picture windows for just under $6000 from their salesman Alex. I ordered laminated windows and Alex told me that these windows were “bulletproof” and then changed it later to “bullet resistant.” Then I found out later from the General Manager, Steve and the corporate office of Andersen windows that that fact is not true. I guess it was just a sales tactic I said to Steve and he told me, "We try to gain our customers' trust." I thought, "That's sure a strange way of doing it." On April 8, I had my two new windows installed at my home. After installation, I found several flaws in between the glass. There was a bubble at eye level, black smudges and scratches and these flaws were not fixable. I immediately contacted the contractor and their representative Mr. Luis ** was sent to my home the next day.
Mr. ** inspected my windows and took photos of the defects. He told me that two new windows would be ordered and delivered on May 17. He also reassured me, that when his store receives my second pair of windows, he personally would inspect them for defects. On May 17, my second pair of windows were installed and again, the same issues were visible. I guess my windows weren't inspected as promised by Mr. **. These windows had a small bit of debris in between the glass and then later, I noticed numerous scratches inside and out and smudges between the glass. These windows are very expensive and with the Andersen seal on them, you think you would be getting a quality product because of their reputation, but something must have changed with their manufacturing process for this to happen TWICE.
These are windows that should have been rejected at the factory and not delivered at my home. But money seems more important than customer satisfaction. These windows are now permanent at my home and I'm stuck having to live with them knowing the problems they have. The contract that I signed, seems to protect the company, but who protects me? My money was purchasing brand spanking new windows and not flawed one. If I knew ahead of time I was going to get such merchandise, I would have canceled my order. Flawed merchandise seems to be a continuous problem with this company and as a customer, I should not have to pay for this. But by not paying the remaining amount due, my warranty is void. BUYER BEWARE.
And I do have to mention the following. While Mr. ** was at my home inspecting my windows he decided to bribe me twice to appease me, First, by offering two free tickets to a show including dinner. Then the second window incident he offered me a free Andersen product. He mentioned a free sliding door but told me that their doors have issues before they’re even installed. He told me that they usually end up with a dent in the frame due to the way they are shipped from Minnesota. I guess he told me that to discourage me from accepting his offer because I rather not continue to have this ongoing NIGHTMARE.
I have yet to see anything in exchange for the headache they put me through. It would make me very happy to have my hard earned money back though. This purchase was my second one from Renewal. The first purchase was just as bad. Now I have learned the hard way. Do not trust Renewal by Andersen. PERIOD! And take notice on how many complaints this company has received just this month alone.
Good morning, JD. Thanks for taking a minute to let us know about your experience. I'll be reaching out to the team with your comments right away so they can look into this further. I'll also circle in our warranty team here at corporate. Stay tuned.

I planned to update my kitchen. With that in mind, I wanted two windows replaced. The person who answered the initial call asked several questions including why I wanted to replace windows. I made an appointment for three days later. The same day as I made the appointment, two different young ladies called and asked all the same questions again including verifying my information. I explained I had already done this twice (on the third call).
On the day they were to arrive for the consultation, I waited additional 20 minutes past the time they were to arrive. I called and asked if they were on their way. The assistant looked for my information and then said, "Well I don't know why they aren't there." I said, "Well don't they normally call if they are running late." She said, "Normally. Well, wait a bit longer and if they don't show up, we'll send out the search party." An hour an a half later, no show, no call. Decided that this was the way their company began the experience, it was one I'd rather not share.
Good morning, Marlene. I'm so sorry to hear about this inconvenience. We know you set aside time out of your day to meet with us. I'm going to have the team look into this right away and make sure that we improve our processes here.

We had eight Renewal by Andersen picture and casement windows installed last week. At first glance, we were very excited about the visually-pleasing aesthetics of the windows. Upon further inspection however, every window has a gap in each corner (32 sites) that now needs to be "covered up" according to the company we purchased them from. Apparently we aren't the first customers to have this issue. One gap is almost 1/4"! This is definitely a flaw in the manufacturing of the window and not the installation process.
We thought we were purchasing windows that have a good track record but obviously this is an issue that Renewal by Andersen can't get right, or doesn't care to. Until this problem is rectified, we would be very hesitant to purchase these windows again. They are not a cheap product by any means, and we don't mind spending the money if we're getting a product that is worth it. We should NEVER have to do additional work to brand new windows to cover up a flaw because Renewal by Andersen can't get their act together. A product that is known to be defective should not continue to be sold!!
Hi John and Deanna. Thanks for taking the time to let us know about this. I'm going to reach out to the team you worked with right away and look into this for you.

We liked Renewal by Andersen's convenience and reputation. We went with them and got casement windows. We also did a slider door, regular doors and French doors through them. Their reps were very informative and we were very pleased with them. They were knowledgeable and patient. However, the process ended up taking a little longer because we had to deal with the rainstorms. Still, they were ready to go when they said they were gonna be.
But then there is an issue that got lost in the cracks. I have this desk that's made of glass and the front drawer got cracked during the installation. The installer said they would replace it but then they called me not too long ago to close up the account with however many hundred dollars left on the thing. I told them that I'd be happy to send it to them but my drawer front wasn't replaced yet. Still, the installation went well.
Hi Jackie - thanks so much for the review. We really appreciate your honest feedback! I will follow up with the team asap to make sure they address your desk drawer! If you have any questions or concerns downn the road, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Have a wonderful rest of your week.

My husband and I had 6 windows and a patio door installed. The gentleman that installed them is named Scott **. We would very much like to have this man get the recognition he deserves!! He was very professional with a wealth of knowledge. He took his time and made sure every single detail was complete, also he did this in a very timely manner. We have told our family and friends how happy we were with the windows and about the wonderful experience we had having them installed. Thank you Scott!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to share about your experience, Chris! We will be sure to share with Scott - nothing like a great review to brighten up someone's day!

Renewal by Andersen was referred to us by some friends who have used it and had a really good experience. We did six windows in total, a sliding door and five other windows, and everything went exactly the way the company said they were gonna do it. The representatives were all really good and helpful. In fact, I was impressed with everybody across the board, from the installers to the salesperson to the tech guy. They all did great. I was impressed with how fast and organized they were. They put all six windows in in one day and they stayed a little late to make sure that all of that was done right. So I appreciated that. And everything is really good in terms of quality. Renewal by Andersen is worth the price.
Thanks for the awesome review, Tony! We are so pleased to hear that you had such a great experience with our team! We hope you enjoy your new windows for many years to come!

I talked with Brian from Renewal by Andersen and he told me all the ins and outs of windows and what advantages they had, like improving the appearance of my house, the value of the house if my mom and dad decided to sell, and how nice the windows would look. His friendliness and that he was kinda like a family friend instead of a salesperson were what impressed me the most. Then, even though it rained one day during the installation, they hurried up to get through before the rain started. The installers all seemed like they knew what they were doing and they protected my drapes and the carpeting. And they were very friendly and nice. The windows are beautiful and everybody else thinks so, too. It's just the fact they're too costly.

I knew purchasing new windows was going to be a big tasks. I did my research. I asked friends who they recommended. They all said Andersen. I made the appointment for the estimate. The rep came over on a Sunday. I committed that day. I am so happy with my windows and experience. The customer service is second to none. It truly was a pleasurable experience both with the sales rep and the installers. Thank you! Christine **

Noticed the grout is failing on our expensive bay window. "Chatted" with an Andersen rep. who first couldn't understand that I didn't want to buy anything! I told that I didn't want to buy anything, that I had a problem with a sale. She told me I'd get a call back. 7 days later and I'm still waiting! I'll never purchase Andersen Windows again!
Good morning, Susan. I'm so sorry to hear about the lack of communication and the issue you're having with your bay window. The Andersen Windows team just passed this along to us so I apologize if it's been a few days since you had a response here. I'm having our team look into this and reach out to you! Stay tuned.

Renewal by Andersen was great from the very beginning. I had a problem that had to be fixed and I went to the showroom. I had 3 people help me. They sent out a salesman who was a nice young man. He looked and gave me a price. He had a good deal and they put them in. The installers were absolutely wonderful and I’ve been happy ever since. I love the quality of the windows. The only improvement that is needed is their location. They have very little parking. Other than that, everything was good.
Thanks for taking the time to share about your experience, Lois! We are pleased that you are happy with your experience with Renewal by Andersen (aside from not being able to find parking)! Thanks again for sharing!

I had Renewal by Andersen rework my Andersen window. My husband installed an Andersen bay window like 35 years ago and it needed updating. The windows were shot and the dual panes were leaking. The vinyl had gone bad but the inside was still good so we left that. Everything was excellent and Renewal by Andersen completed the installation in the timeline provided. They were wonderful. They were always on top of making sure I understood when they were coming out and meeting everybody's need.
However, it would have been nice if the salesman contacted us one last time or stopped in to look at it and make sure he was happy with everything. He said, "Oh, I'm gonna be out here a lot," but when they were installing, we never have saw him or talked to him since. We signed the contract that night and that was it. The salesman has never contacted me since. Nothing. Not even a phone call. The other thing I'm a little angry about is my son got windows from them. I used him as the referral and they were supposed to pay him $100 which he's never gotten yet. When I brought it up to one of the workers, they said, "Oh, we have to complete the job first." This thing has been completed for 4 months or more.

All our windows and doors have been done by Renewal by Andersen except for a couple of windows which were previously with another product. We had a good experience using them before and that’s the reason we went back. We weren’t satisfied with the others. We called and Renewal by Andersen made an appointment. The rep came over when she said she would. She walked us through all the products and we decided on what we wanted. She scheduled the appointment and somebody came out to measure. We waited a couple of weeks ‘cause they had no product in stock. Then they installed the sliding glass door and it went great. The quality was very good. The installation team was very quick. They came in the morning and they were done by lunchtime. In fact, it was kinda rainy that day, but they got it installed before the rains really came down so that was good.
Thanks for taking the time to share, Cliff! We are so pleased to hear that your first experience with us was good enough to come back! We appreciate your business and strive to ensure that you are satisfied at all stages of the process! We hope you enjoy your new windows and doors for many years to come! Thanks again!

Our experience with RbA was terrible and we will be highly recommending to everyone I know that they NOT use Renewal by Andersen. While the initial Sales Representative and Operations Manager separately met with us at our home to provide us a quote/contract and take follow-up measurements, the communication with them beyond this was extremely challenging and I never got the full information they indicated I would receive.
We initially signed a contract with them due to the Sales Rep indicating that due to the size of the job we would likely have our window installed with 5-6 weeks. We had to give them a 50% deposit upon contract signing and this is where everything went off track. I had to repeatedly initiate contact to try and get status only to receive a voicemail from the Operations Manager FIVE WEEKS AFTER signing the contract stating they would not be able to manufacture our window and would be returning our deposit.
After repeated attempts to contact the Operations Manager and getting a message that his voicemail was full I sent a text message asking for an explanation why they could not manufacture our contracted window and why I still did not have a credit multiple days later after his message stated it would be processed right away. I never was able to get any further information from them but was finally credited 10 days later for our deposit.
I truly believe they never intended to produce our window. At one point the sales rep told us he would sell to us even though his boss told him he should not quote us a job of this size. I feel they took our money for 5+ plus weeks knowing they would never honor the contract they made with us. We went to RbA based on the all of the remaining windows in our home being Andersen windows of great quality. RbA is a joke and I am disappointed they are associated with Andersen Windows. We are having to start over with a reputable company to get a much needed replacement window. I will be reporting RbA Alabama to the BBB and filing a complaint with the Attorney General with hope it keeps others from experiencing this type of disservice.
Hi Sheri, I am sorry about your experience with us. I've spoken with the team you worked with about your particular situation. Unfortunately, we couldn't meet your expectations of removing the window without disturbing your granite tile around the window. I'm sorry about the inconvenience this caused. But thank you for your consideration. We wish you the best of luck with your home improvement project.

Had two sliders installed, great doors and excellent install. But... while cleaning one of the sliders I notice a small scratch in the tint between the glass. I have chatted on the website twice. First time I was giving the local phone number. I called left a message. I am up to 4 messages as of today. Chatted on the main website again and my complaint was supposed to go to a manager. 2 weeks later not even a courtesy call. Now this isn't a drop what you are doing and come fix it. They give you a document explaining what to do for service. Tells you what pictures to take, but nowhere to send them.
Hi Tracy, I remember speaking to you about this yesterday on Facebook. I've talked with the team this morning and asked for an udpate and they said they reached out to you yesterday. Do you need us to reach out again?

I needed three windows replaced from hail damage. Got an appointment then they call a hour before and said they didn't have time this day and because it was insurance they don't do that. I said I going to pay for them but she said they are top of line windows and acted like I couldn't pay for them. Well I own this house and like in the higher part of Johnstown PA. I just want to thank you for letting me know I'm not good enough for your windows. I'll buy them somewhere that know how to treat people with RESPECT!!!!
Good morning, David. Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know about your experience. I'm passing your feedback along to the team you worked with asap so they can investigate and make sure that this type of communication does not happen again. If you'd still like to set up your free in-home consultation, please let me know. I'm happy to help.
