I got tired of replacing windows and they had a 25-year guarantee on everything so I got them. Their rep was great. I kept in contact with him and he kept in contact with me, and we set up a date, and that was in the middle of winter. The installation went real well. They took the old ones out and they found some wood rot down on the lower sills and they replaced all that. We’ve only had the windows for a couple of months but they’re working out great.

Dealing with Renewal by Andersen is the worst home improvement experience I have ever had. Our salesman, Andy (Anthony), entered into the contract the wrong color for the sliding door and 2 of 5 windows. The wrong color of the 2 windows was caught before installation and were refabricated (or so they say). However, the door was installed and they refuse to replace it. The fix is painting it. If I would have wanted a painted door, I would have just painted the old one and saved myself $6,000!!!!

Beware if you plan on ordering a sliding door from them as well. The header and sill are gray. The outside color protrudes inside at the sides. Then there is the door color. Yes, that 3 distinct colors that you see from the inside – looks terrible. Installation is done by a 3rd party contractor. The 2 replacement windows were done professionally. However, the 3 windows and door were not. Get ready for hand prints on the wall, uneven chalk done with dirty fingers, ripped up sills, paint on curtains, etc. They move outdoor items for access and don’t put them back.

Renewal by Andersen will give you 3 prices – sign now (least expensive), good for 1 month, and good for 1 year (most expensive). If you are still thinking of using Renewal by Andersen, do your homework first and get competitive pricing. Remember that they are not an Andersen company as the name suggests. You can do a google search for reputable contractors that can also install Andersen windows.

There were so many deals at the same time, so it made them affordable. The sales rep was very good. She was very good and complete and showed me different options and choices. I got three windows and patio doors from them. The installation was a hectic day. There was a blizzard coming and the guy who was supposed to do it called in sick. But the guys that did it were professionals. They weren't used to doing it but it turned out fine. The quality is good. I like the windows. It's a lot quieter in here. It's easier to see out. The screens are clearer. So I'm really enjoying them. My experience went well and I'm happy with them.

Our existing windows were from Renewal and we had them replaced. The installation was okay. Something arrived damaged in the framing, so it took a while to get that fixed. During the first time, it was the wrong part when they sent somebody back and then they got it right eventually. The technicians were great. But two of the tree windows get condensation on them and I didn't have that with the previous windows. They told me that that's normal but I don't see why that would be normal. I don't get condensation in any other windows in my house.

My experience with Renewal by Andersen was great. My brother’s a contractor and he indicated to me that most contractors used cheaper windows. And when I mentioned Renewal by Andersen, he gave a high recommendation for it. My nephew’s a contractor too and he gave a high recommendation for it as well. So, I went with them. I purchased windows, doors and a patio door from them. It was a good experience with their rep. She brought all of the products in, broke down the differences between their low-end, middle-grade and high-end products. And I went with the middle. She answered my questions and assisted me with financing too.

I watched the installers do the installation and I was really surprised by how they were able to do their job. It was four of them and they did a fabulous job. They did all of the windows and then they came back and did all of the doors. So, it was really a good experience. They cleaned up as well. You never would have known they were there. I had one problem with a window since then and they came out. And the gentleman told me that if I have any issues with the windows to give him a call and he’ll come right back out and check it out for me. But so far, so good. It’s very good quality. I’ve noticed that inside the house, the temperature is more steady. I don’t have to adjust my heat up and down like I was before. The insulation that they used around the windows sealed them off really well.

But the way that they order the materials needs to be improved upon because everything was installed and done correctly, but it wasn't all done at the same time because of ordering issues.

We had Andersen windows originally on this house, which we did not build, and we worked with Andersen to replace grids over the years. So based on their reputation, we went with them again. When we had the guy come out, he was fantastic. He was really great in explaining the product, telling us about them backing the product, and talking about the process. It seemed like the superior window and if you're gonna spend the money, you wanna have it be good. We only put a couple in, but he was good with that and didn't pressure us. We also wish we could've replaced all the windows in the house, but we can't.

The installers were perfect as well. The woman who was in charge was good with the emails, calling, and coordinating. Then, the guy called ahead of time and the stainer person also reached out. They did a great job and we were very happy. The whole process was wonderful, so I thank them. Then, we continued to get phone calls and emails from Andersen soliciting us to get windows. But we already ordered windows, so that was a little irritating. They also did it more than once. So there seems to be a disconnect between the part of the company where they came out and sold us the windows as well as the ones installing, and the rest of the company that was still trying to sell us windows. Other than that, we love our windows.

Even after texting back I saw that I had missed several calls when I checked my phone late Sunday night. I just now called to make sure there wasn’t a change and was told that they did get my text message but unfortunately they needed to talk to me again and now they no longer have a consultant available for today so they would have to reschedule. I changed my schedule to be home for the appointment so I found this extremely irritating and unprofessional. Hopefully this will not happen with the other window companies in the area. I purchased windows and doors from RBA and it was an excellent experience. We had to move up the timeline though. We were supposed to have it done before Christmas but they weren't able to get started until the end of January. Everything was manufactured custom for my house but there was a production issue. For the installation, the crew showed up about the middle of the week and about a week in, they had done a substantial amount of work. Then the following week, they came back and by Thursday they were all done and gone.

I have used these doors and doorknobs every day and everything works fine. Plus, there's a big difference in heating one particular room because of the new windows and doors. We replaced a not-so-energy-efficient slider and that made a big difference. The general appearance is so much better too and everybody likes it from the outside.

The rep who came out to tell me about Renewals by Andersen, the one who came out to do the measuring and the one who did the work were completely wonderful. There was another fellow who came with the leader and he was wonderful too but he just did his work and didn’t say too much. I had two basement windows put in and they were the big sliders. I've lived here since '67 and so, I've probably had quite a few Menards windows that people would just come and put in. Renewal by Andersen went and took the Menards out of my kitchen and put them down the basement, so I have corner windows by my sink. I had four sets of windows by the sink and then I finally had a porch put on.

I have a patio door that opens and that has been Andersen all along. I've had no trouble except that the deck rotted out with ants, so it ate through the casing on the bottom. When I had that replaced, I had another Andersen put in there. The rep told me that it would be the last windows I would ever have to put down there and that sounds wonderful. RbA did fair with me on the price as well.

Basically my windows on the third floor by the street are not as soundproof as before. Because the whole house was installed with Renewal by Andersen products, it is so obvious there is something wrong with it. I called the customer service, they kept saying that is because the street is busier/my hearing becomes more sensitive. But if this is the case, why didn't I complaint about the ones on the second and first floor? They finally sent someone to check, and the technician also confirmed my findings and agreed to come back to me later, but NEVER. Yesterday, there was a salesperson selling their product again, but how could I trust this company again?

I was very pleased with Renewal by Andersen's project. We had a total of four windows, upstairs and the bay window downstairs. They provided everything they’ve said they would and are very organized people, which helps a lot. They're very clean when the work is done. A couple of years ago, I had three windows done upstairs because of a recommendation. They cut the old ones out and dropped them in. It was smooth and they did a great job, so I knew where to go the second time. I wanted to replace the big window in the den, and then we added a couple other windows. The recent job they did was a result of the success of the first job. Renewal has thought of everything. They’ve done it before so nothing new. I saw down a block away that they just redid an entire house so word is definitely getting around. I would recommend them to anyone that has a bunch of old windows that need to be replaced.

We were interested in replacing one window and with the other companies, they wanted us to do more than just one window. But RBA was willing to do one window. We had an in-home consultation and the person who came was lovely. The reps are very knowledgeable and very well-trained. But the presentation was a little long. I have a small child and that makes hosting someone in my home for two hours to sell a product very challenging 'cause this little person needs my attention. They also wanted all the homeowners involved so my partner had to be here.

It was very much a sales presentation but we had already decided this was the product that we wanted so they didn't really have to sell it to us. I totally understand though. But before coming in, they should determine whether a customer is on the fence about their product. Some people are exploring their options and maybe RBA are in competition with Pella or something else so they need those two hours to change the customer's minds. But I was not in that place and I was decided on Andersen. It was just which window am I gonna do and when am I gonna do it so I totally did not need that the presentation at the time.

We ended up going with a slider. We did the Fibrex composite windows, which was another selling point for us. We have an older home and the previous owner have replaced most of the windows in the home with other inexpensive vinyl and let some of the original 1940s windows for us to deal with. And so, trying to figure out the cost-benefit analysis between inexpensive vinyl doesn't last a long time, or more expensive wood or metal windows that have a longer life, the composite was a good option. And we knew that Andersen was one of the top choices for that.

The installation was so easy and awesome. I was surprised it took one person and he showed up on time. He was very nice, quick, quiet and clean. I almost cried when he was done. It was so beautiful. I've never been so excited to see a window before. It was installed in our basement, which we're slowly renovating. Basements are cold 'cause there's no insulation down there. And I really feel like, even without the insulated walls, the window has made a big difference in the comfort and temperature down there. I'm very happy. They are on the pricier side of replacement windows so that's not for everybody and having to do the consultation part is a little bit of a challenge. But once we were in the process of the project, it was great and very painless.

We ordered 2 sets of large sliding doors and some trapezoid windows, approximately 30,000$ worth, in August 2019. I was put off by the hard sales pitch which I equated to buying a used car but finally agreed knowing the discount was only available to us “that day”. Even after saying we wanted to think about it, the team went to lunch around the corner and waited for us to make a decision. Fine, reviews were good and it was a project we had wanted to do for a while. (We had Milgard windows previously and they were terrible!) I understand manufacturing timelines but the install was not scheduled until November.

The install process was beset by one issue after another but finally completed in November however one of the doors was defective and had to be reordered. The doors wouldn’t lock and there were several trips to rectify other issues. In addition, the installers destroyed our wood deck and we have had to redo at our own expense. Calls to sales person to express our disappointment went unheard, obviously he already had his commission.

The door was finally re-installed in January however the locking issue is still a problem. In the meantime a major leak was noted due the install to floor below and the water ran in through the top of one of the doors. To their credit, service calls continue to occur with the last one last week to fix the floor leak and the service agent indicating that service is number one priority but a new locking mechanism will need to be ordered. This will probably be service call #10. And to boot, it rained today, all of 20 minutes in So. Cal and the rain poured in from the top of the other windows. So frustrating. All that money but really, doesn’t seem to be justifiable given the issues and lack of ability to resolve 3 months after install that we’ve had..and continue to have. Would not recommend.

I purchased 7 windows and 3 doors from Andersen last summer and were placed in Sept. They were quick completing the installation in 2 days, but did not do the best job of sealing around the windows. They used foam from a can and which created gaps where wind and water could come in. I also had problems opening and closing the door. I had them come back out to make the corrections which took about 3 weeks. During that time I showed them another issue with my from door and stated there were issues and also at that time one larger window had a chip in the frame that he stated they would take care of. I was told it would take a few weeks to get a replacement window and return.

Halloween came and went, Thanksgiving came and went, Christmas came and went and Martin Luther Kings Birthday came and went and not Andersen. During the Winter my doors would freeze shut and would not open. When we were able to open the door, we took a hair dryer to melt the ice on the sides of the door. To lock and unlock the door we had to use our whole body weight to push against the door to pull the bolt forward and back, this was impossible for my wife and grandson, which meant they had to go to the garage and exit the house through the garage door. The Windows are nice, they still get ice on the inside like my old double pain, but one a 1/3 of what we were use to.

Any questions that I asked, he was welcome and open to all of them. He explained everything to me, how to open and close, lock, pull-down and all of that stuff.

In my rec room, I had a small window in there and a sliding glass window, and up above that is my bedroom where I had two bedroom windows done there. The timeline was convenient for me because I’m a school bus driver and I was on winter break then. They came in and they said, “What about New Year’s Eve?” And I said, “That’s fine.” He said, “You don’t have any plans?” It worked out. I didn’t have any plans so it was fine for me. I was already off, so it was very convenient. They cleaned up everything. They put the plastic on the walkway. They didn’t bother me not one bit. I didn’t even know they were there. I sat in the kitchen doing my mail. It was very quick. Everything was fantastic.

Renewal By Andersen claims to be another arm of Andersen Windows. I am not sure this is really the case. Let's jump to the end. Closer asks me “is there any reason you will not sign the contract right now?” My response, ”other than that I am not STUPID and don’t make RASH DECISIONS, no!” Then I showed him the door.

Okay let's back up some. The closer gives us a pitch, walks the house with his tablet picking windows for each of my 13 double hungs, and a couple of large Palladian windows. Closer spends 10 minutes of my wife and my time ignoring us and working hard on his tablet. Then he shows me a number…Fifty Three Thousand dollars. No detail showing what I get for 53K. Immediately he drops the price ten grand and asks me the question above and is shown the door.

He would not itemize anything. How much the big and small DH or the nonopening DH cost… How many of each he bid, No breakdown for the 10x8 or 8x6 Palladians. No information on the windows… In fact this closer (said he was with Renewal by Andersen for 3 years) did not know what the U-Factor is. Not that he did not know the U factor specs for his windows he just quoted me, but I am sure this closer did not even know what U-Factor IS. This much I did get from his presentation.

    1) The frames the windows are in (including inside molding and outside brick molding and sill (most likely places for windows to leak) will not be touched.
    2) Just the minimal old window (the glass and the part holding the glass) is replaced.
    3) All of their installers are drug tested, but he could not tell me if the installers were their installers or day laborers or contractors.

My brother and I have done work with Andersen at their factory so we’re familiar with Renewal by Andersen. I like the installation guys. They beat the estimated timeline and they put plastic up, so it kept the dust down. The experience was really good. I selected one of their good windows, a double-hung, double-insulated window and the qualities were superb. We’re on a noisy street and it cuts the noise down. Renewal by Andersen was an excellent organization.

Andersen Renewal sold me 16 windows for the second floor of my custom built 1925 colonial. Essentially, the original crew installed the windows themselves okay, but, the finish work inside and out was Completely unacceptable. The job had so many defects in workmanship that there is not enough room in this paragraph. Well, it turned into quite the ordeal. A number of ineffective Fixers were sent out to examine my issues and attempt to correct them. So FINALLY a couple guys were sent and they remedied the worst of the interior issues. Same with the outside, FINALLY, a Foreman and small crew came and redid the exterior work. Now, they knew their work and fixed it all promptly. Turns out that I don't like the windows that much either. So for top money I did not get a top job. I will not buy from Andersen Renewal again.

The gentleman that came was an extremely talented salesperson. What got me was his little demonstration with the heat lamp and the glass. The door was promised to us at a certain time, and then Renewal by Andersen called and said that they couldn’t get it to us. Apparently, they weren’t able to get it into our house here from wherever they all get their stuff so there was a delay by a couple of weeks. But other than that, all three fellows who came to install the door were excellent. They were on time and they knew exactly what they were doing. If there were any complications that came up, they were able to handle them quickly and efficiently without any extra time. They explained what the process was, they were extremely courteous and professional, and they cleaned up after themselves well.

I just noticed a difference in the weight and the heft of the door. I liked my other one better. It has a heftier feel to it, and our new one feels a bit light and not as durable as my other one. But it's doing the job we want it to do. It's opening and closing well, and it seems to be fine. I was extremely pleased with the whole process.

We had Andersen windows and door installed at our house and it was an incredible challenge from start to finish. It took me getting frustrated and having to escalate to the Senior VP of the local franchise in Phoenix. The communication was very poor. The product is good for what it’s worth, but for the premium you pay, it was a really poor experience customer service-wise. One of the windows was measured wrong, and we had to get it reordered, which is fine. That didn’t bother me. But then our sliding door was installed improperly, and it took an extra three months with no communication and us continuing to call them. It’s not about the fact that there were issues, but the service from that particular franchise. I’m sure that if I was in a different region and I had a different Andersen, it would have been great. And if I had a friend in Columbus, Ohio who wanted windows, I’d say, “Go for it,” because it’s a different franchise.

When I finally escalated it, the Senior VP was pretty good. But he was an executive that had to get involved with his team that couldn’t manage something. I would’ve expected that more from not the premier window and door company, where I could’ve spent half the price. Andersen's products are not budget-friendly, so we spent a lot of money on them, but unfortunately, the experience was awfully poor. The customer service people seemed like they hated their jobs. On every phone call to schedule to do anything, we asked them to update their system to have my wife’s number, and we've told them that probably 10 times. But even now, six months later, they still have my number in the system. I hope they improve because the experience was a shame. We only did half of our house, and my wife is like, “I don’t care if our windows don’t match. We’re not using Andersen again.”

No questions asked after they ** up in the first place by telling me they guarantee my install date then call me and said my windows were sent somewhere else then when they finally get them and install them cool air came through.

Sales guy never responded to me so six months later they're like, "How’s your windows". I’m like, "Well there’s air coming through but I haven’t been able". Anyways I can go on forever. Reviewed Jan. 22, 2020

The salesperson came out, he was wonderful and told us all the reasons why Andersen windows were the best. But if we had to do things over again, we would've gone with a different window. We did $15,000 worth of windows. We only did because they were expensive, but they're large windows, They were windows that we have here in our den and also in the master bedroom. One of the features that Andersen thinks is a great thing is that with the windows that we chose, without really realizing that it was going to be the case, the base slid to the middle. So you have a place that's open on the right and on the left of each window if you have the windows open. They meet in the middle. They offered that as a desirable feature that we would love.

That turned out to be a major pain in the rear end for us. We're seniors, and even if we weren't, we shouldn't have to use all of our energy to try to shut our windows. As it turns out, once you would close the windows, they would not meet in the middle where the lock was. There was some kind of compression, which, again is because of the way the windows are manufactured and they're double-pane. Except to try to lock the window, you had to force the right side into the casing and force the left side into the casing and then try to get the lock to line up so that the latch would in fact activate. Because of the pressure of the windows, if you slid the right one right, then the one on the left would pop out. And if you slid the one left in, then the right one would pop out. I literally could not force the window to go both ways so that I could lock the lock.

We called and complained because we dreaded leaving the house because it meant dealing with the windows. Initially, they didn't have handles on the windows. So we're trying to just use the frame of the window to use enough power to get them into the window casing to lock. The rep said, "Let us come out and we'll put handles on the windows so you at least have something to hold onto." They came and did that, and that was a joke. All it did was give us a place to hold onto, but we still didn't have the strength to close the windows.

We tried to work with it. They told us that maybe in a while, with us working the windows back and forth, they would become more user-friendly. That didn't work. So we had them for a few months. I called back and said, "This is just not working for us, to pay this much money for windows. We hate these darn windows." They said, "Let's try one other thing. What we can do is we can screw the window into the frame of the window on one side, so that it can't pull out anymore so that only the one side slides back and forth."

We had to wait for a period of time because they had to order some adjustments to the window and they had to order new screens because somehow, that was gonna impact how the screens worked. So we were waiting again. It was a couple of months for them to come out and make this alteration to the windows. Now it's been two months that we're working with them being screwed in on the left hand side. The window is secure and it's easier to line them up. Is it easy to line them up? No, still not. That screw is gonna pull out eventually. Every time we close the window, there is pressure on and a movement within the window to secure it. If and when they don't work again, I don't know what we'll do then. It's been a long road and if I could take these things out and throw them down the hill, I would. But after you invest $15,000, you just do the best you can with what you have.

The installer did tell us we are not unique in having this experience with this particular window. In fact, the owner of the company called us one day to talk with us about it. I was telling him my heartbreak with the window, and it was his idea that we screw in the one side so it doesn't slide. But he told me that he is aware that there are people that are not happy with the way it functions. That was not something the company hasn't heard other than just from us.

In the past, we purchased Andersen windows for a second home that were installed by my contractor and we love them. Because of that experience, we hired RBA to replace two patio doors, four casement windows and several stationary windows to replace 14 year old contractor grade windows in our condo. The sales team is very slick, providing all kinds of assurances of great service via their Signature Service.

I have had 11 warranty visits to repair most aspects of the installation, and I'm not done yet. Screens that won't stay in, 1/4 inch gaps in caulk lines on finish trim, and four visits to stop leaks in a stationary window. They finally decided to replace it but when they arrived for the installation appointment, they discovered that the new window was damaged in shipment.

After all this, I still must go through an automated phone system and leave a message in order to contact anyone. I have been thwarted in my efforts to discuss this situation with someone of authority. I am now waiting for a call in a month or so that the new window is ready for installation. My time is meaningless to this company. I highly discourage the use of this company. They may have decent windows, but lots of places do and you pay a huge premium for the Andersen name. Don't believe the Signature Service nonsense. I wish I could get my old windows back.

And because we had a smaller project it was a little harder to get people out where Renewal will honor any kind of project that you have. They were great to work with. Everyone stayed in contact with us and were responsive. They were ahead of the entire project, constantly reaching out, letting us know, “Here’s when it's scheduled. Here’s when we're coming.” There were no surprises at all. The delivery was less time that they had anticipated.

Also it was like the installation team weren’t even here. They were clean, timely and everything was great. There were no issues at all. And the new windows definitely are better as far as keeping in the heat. And one of the odd features we're kind of blown away by, is they have a screen that you can't really tell it's a screen, so it looks like the window is clear and bright because the screen doesn’t interfere with the look outside. So they just are smooth and they worked easily. They probably do cost a little bit more than just like the guy down the street kind of thing. But it was worth it to have a lot of the other things. We felt comfortable, we knew we were gonna get a good product and good service, so I guess you just pay a little bit more for that

Updated on 01/21/2020: So, if you search for my other review you will see my initial story. Here is the follow up... Inspector came out to look at windows (the best tech they had that has been there for 40 years we were told). Tech did a card test and determined that the window failed (the third one). Then, he tested the other windows and noted all of the debris and water that has come into our house and window. He took that info back to the company.

About 4 days later we got a call that they would replace the failed window BUT would use an air can sprayer to “clean out” the others then slap silicone over the seal. We said no to this option considering there is WATER in my brand new windows. So, we were told they would “call us back”. Well, today we got the call after waiting another week for someone to get back to us who now claims they need to come out and do yet another inspection even though the first tech took pics, inspected and did a full report. Also note that nobody will provide a number to the corporate office. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next. Just replace the defective product and make things right with us as customers. That’s all we are asking for.

Original review: We have had nothing but issues with our windows and doors. From installation to leaking windows to replacements and repairs this whole process has been a nightmare. We have missed many days of work having people come out and repair/replace cracked windows, leaking windows and a really expensive French door that still won’t latch properly. The manager never calls us- they send out a “service guy” who just orders another window and we end up with issues again. I should have saved myself 20K and went with Wallside.

I have a kid with respiratory issues and am worried that the continuous leaking windows are going to cause him more issues. We paid way too much money to have these issues continue in almost every window in our house. I want this solved or I want my money back so I can replace the windows correctly with a company that isn’t incompetent.

My experience with Andersen Windows from start to finish was not a good one. The sales person that came to my home seemed a bit aggressive. I was taking him to the windows I wanted replaced, he decide on his way to the room to go into other rooms without permission and quickly. I had to redirect him to the rooms I was replacing the windows in. I did not like that. He seemed to find fault in windows I was not replacing, that had no issues with. Once they replaced the windows, (two) in my home, a few weeks later there was a lot of condensation on one of the windows, also a significant amount of draft. I quickly called Andersen Windows to complain. They sent someone to check.

In this room there is an infant. On top of the dresser there was a humidifier, that had that was used a year ago, and has not been used since. The man quickly said that the condensation is due to that humidifier. I explained to the man that this humidifier has not been used for a year now, so that cannot be the cause of condensation. This is a small room, with little storage. The window was replaced. Today 1/2/20 I received a phone call from Andersen Windows. The lady on the phone, told me that the reason there was condensation was due to a humidifier in the room. I told her that this statement that their worker had written, was not true, and that the humidifier was not used for a year now, but the lady insisted that what was written on the report is why there is condensation.

So Andersen Windows, is saying that I am a liar. Do they do this to make the warrantee non-valid? Two windows cost me 4,500. Very expensive. I thought that the worker coming to inspect the complaint, and the salesperson was not professional. On top of that I was harassed to write a review over the phone, and via email several times. I did not want to really write a review. The last phone call from this company a women called about the review, in December 2019, I was not well, and again felt harassed. She told me that there was a contest for a trip for the sales person, and that my review would help him win a trip, if I can please write the review.

I felt that if I did not write the review they will continue to harass me. So I did. I am not happy with this company's behavior. The fact that the person lied to his employers on his report, and having to have such an expensive window put in, only to have it replaced because it was defective, in either the way it was installed or the window itself. My intention was to replace all the windows in my home in the future with Andersen Windows. Now I am looking for a different company, and brand, due to my negative experience, and how expensive the windows, and their worker writing a lie on his report.

The guy who came was new and I could tell. He didn't really know off his head the things I was asking about. He had to look it up. But he was great. He did say he was new, and he got on the phone if he didn't know something and called somebody. The installation team was also real careful and they covered and cleaned up everything. I didn't even know they were here. They just got to work and did everything, no problem. And I love the window. I can tell already, it's not letting any air or moisture like the other one has because my curtains had a mark on them. So, I love everything about it.

Before purchasing windows from Andersen I went online and there were some pretty poor reviews that I mentioned to my sales person, but I told him that I would give them a chance anyway. The windows were for a second home so every time anything needed to be done I had to drive there. On 5/20 my charge card was charged and I was told the windows would be here in 10-12 weeks per the signed contract. They were not available to be installed until 18 1/2 weeks.

On 9/25 the installers were supposed to arrive between 8-8:30am. They showed up at 10:30. The installation should have taken 2 days and after 3 days they were not finished, possibly because they never showed up before 10, and then left to get supplies and lunch for 2-3 hours. I then had to wait until 11/5 for them to come out and finish the job which took them another 2 days, not one. Also, I was told that if I gave them the trim paint they would paint the outside trim of the second story windows that they installed and instead of painting the trim my color they painted it white which is not even close to green.

I was told that the county inspection would be 12/2 and that at 8am I could call to see what the time window was which is what I did. The county told me that the inspection had been cancelled. When I called the Orlando office I was told that they had cancelled because my salesman was having a procedure that morning and they forgot to tell me. I was also told that the county told Andersen that the trim molding would have to be removed for the inspection for them to check the installation and so the inspection could not be done that day even if an inspector was available.

I then drove out again on 12/24 for an inspection. I was called and told that the window for the inspection was 12-1. I noticed someone sitting in a truck across the street but they never got out of the truck. A little before 1 a gentleman knocked on my door and I thought he was from Andersen but he was the county inspector. I called the Orlando office and was told that the Andersen manager had left because he had another appointment and could not wait. So the inspector could not do the final inspection because the trim molding had not been removed.

The inspector also told me that the reason they require Andersen installations to have the trim removed is because the windows have not been installed properly on other jobs. I was also told by the inspector that it was Andersen's responsibility to call for an inspection during the installation to verify that the installation was being done correctly which they never did. Another wasted trip.

Just as aide, I recently had three large bay windows replaced at my home and it took 3 hours from start to finish. To make matters worse, when I called the Andersen national number I was referred back to the Orlando office and there was no email of any company officers that I could write to. So if you have a problem, there is no one to help you deal with the people that you have been dealing with who can't do their jobs right.

The windows that we originally had in the house were windows by Andersen, so it seemed like it was gonna be an easier process getting them switched out with the same brand. The quality of the windows seemed better than a lot of the other ones as well. We got some double-hung windows, and they did a great job with that. They stuck to it, and outlined it all from the start.

The rep was great and very friendly. They called to check in on the day of installation to make sure everything was going okay and followed up after it to make sure we’re happy with the product. The installation team was also super-friendly and efficient. It was a long day for them, and they were working the whole time. Their work is also very good. We checked everything afterwards, and they didn’t leave any mess behind. The windows were fitted very well even though our house was having some sinking issues on one side.

Updated on 01/29/2020: Renewal by Andersen replaced 7 windows in my home last summer. Everything was great until our first storm, when piles of snow drifted inside both windows facing west. Technicians have been out four times with a net effect of very slight improvement over the windows' function. Takes forever to schedule someone. No one will tell me anything about what the problem might be. Were they made incorrectly? Installed wrong? I just get the corporate responses. I'm very unhappy and would never recommend this product to anyone.

Original Review: The seven new windows installed by Window Warmth leak cold air worse than my old vinyl ones that came with my log cabin. Actually had snow coming in through the joints on several in one storm. At first they blamed installation, but no one will tell me anything. Service takes forever; am waiting until the end of January for them to do an air infiltration study. I would never recommend this product to anyone. My heating bills are horrible and I have towels on every sill trying to quell the drafts. Keeping the curtains shut helps a bit, but bought these windows to enjoy the view. I should have listened to my father and talked to several companies - these were incredibly expensive. Very dissatisfied.

I have used RbA two years in a row. Last year, I got a picture window replaced. I had a couple of people come out and the guy from Renewal seemed like he was more knowledgeable about their product. The customer satisfaction seems to be there as well as reputation, which I have heard of over a couple of other window products. It was the second time I had that window replaced. The first one was when the house was built and I had a bad experience at the time. I was trying really hard not to repeat that experience and I was willing to pay a little more to make sure that everything was done right. In the end, I had a good experience.

This year, a lot of those windows that I had replaced had gone bad too but I kept saying I'm gonna have to wait 'cause I'm getting close to retirement. It wasn't in the budget. But then, I got a note from one of the regional guys from Andersen for a special discount for repeat customers. I said I'll just let the guy who sold me the picture window come out and talk to me 'cause we had bonded. In the end, he came out and I told him I needed to get all the windows replaced but I didn't have the money. I did want the deal too. He did several renditions of the volume versus the sale price and it turned out that the more windows I get, the bigger the sales discount.

I bit the bullet and did every window that was done. I was getting ready to retire in a couple of years and I wanted to get all these structural things off my bucket list. I've been happy and I've had no problems since. Everything is working out well. RbA is pretty much true to form. Whatever they said they were gonna do, they did. They also followed up, with both years and made sure I was happy with their service. If I had any more windows, I would do it again.

Gary was pleasant and explained the whole process of installation of my windows before he started; and the replacement too.

Steven was assigned the next go around and his demeanor was wonderful and when he came into my house, he put his placement down to not ruin my bad floors. That nice. We talked about where the second floor window would go, but that window was left off the truck; so he had to go pick it up. No fussing but a high level of professionalism he displayed. The installation part was a big thing for me because having to deal with another contractor and figure out who is going to do what is sometimes an issue. So, I went with them. We had them replace sliding glass doors, which were Andersen, with French doors that had inserts and several locks to make it look like they match with the existing windows. They gave a timeline and they were able to meet it. It was a very accurate notion of how long it was going to take to get the windows made and when we agreed on an installation date, they got it done in two days. So, it was very well and professionally done. The customer service was able to answer questions in a timely way. They had the arrangements for everything from financing the installation and that was all a great benefit.

Since they were installed, we have been inundated with ants coming inside the closed and locked windows. They enter from the gaps in screen frame, crawl up into the centerpiece (interlocking device), build nests and flood the inside of the windows and the rooms. We have been trying to get this solved since June. VP is ignoring facts and video evidence, and wants to do a 'final fix' (simply replacing the sashes) that won't solve the problem. My prior dealing with Home Depot was not very good, so when I saw their ad regarding customizing windows, I wanted to learn more. The initial experience with the salesperson was pleasant and the product presented was a high quality and I ended up ordering not only two bay windows, but also a storm door and patio door.

My disappointment and dissatisfaction is in the actual window. I never received any measurement and/or renderings to confirm the windows would meet my satisfaction. The windows I ended up getting resembled porthole windows on cruise ship! If the salesperson never provided me with actual photos of how the windows would look and warn me that Renewal By Andersen would diminish the size of my window panes by over 10 inches, I would not pay $24,000 for allow less light to enter into my home. I can only say buyer beware, because now I have to deal with how to get the company to correct this huge mistake! by the way, the very helpful sales guy basically disappeared after I raised by concerns. I've heard of Renewal by Andersen by word-of-mouth in contractors that I know and when I was walking around in a festival in Revere, they had a stand put up. I know I needed windows so I just hopped in to see if I could set up an appointment. The guy came and he was very helpful so I decided to go with them. For the most part, it was good. My sales rep made a lot of mistakes which was difficult including one on the types of windows that were supposed to go in. So, they underquoted me for what it was actually going to cost. They came out to my house at the beginning of August and the installation started in October 30th. It was finished in about four days. They did it quickly and so, they were done by the beginning of November.

The crew was amazing. They were so respectful, polite and made sure I was comfortable. I stayed out of the way but they communicated well with me. They made sure I knew exactly what to expect, what was happening, when they would be coming back and what the timeline was. If I noticed anything wrong, before I took the plastic off on the windows, they came back right away and that was all taken care of. The new windows were amazing. The price is more expensive but for the short week I got to experience them, the options that they provided and the knowledge of the tech who came in, the premium that I paid was worth the extra price.

Don't fall for "our service is the best in the industry" nonsense. It's not. They never call you back, never give you updates, and cop an attitude when you question their commitment to customer service.

It's 10 degrees outside and I have icy cold drafts ripping through my house and can't even get a call back. This has been ongoing for two months now, and I have spoken to at least a half dozen different people there, but it's a classic case of mirror management.... Somebody is always "looking into it". The latest excuse for not providing an update was somebody on vacation, but they'd “call me right back as soon as he returns”. One weeks later? Crickets as usual. Pathetic. I'm going to file a report with the BBB and start taking action to try get a refund, so I can get a door that works from a company that cares. I paid premium prices for a piece of junk that they won't stand behind. Fool on me I guess.

Something is going on there in the quality department.

Also, I don't like that the sales rep say they'll give us this much discount if we order right away. I don't get a day to think about it and I don't like that. We already decided anyway but it's putting us off. They have done that on every order we've had with them. As a regular customer, if I wasn't sure, I wouldn't like that. I would ask them to give the offer for a week and if I take it, I get it. But if I don't, I don't. Other than that, their sales rep is fine.

Install occurred in September 2019. I filed a complaint regarding my experience with Renewal by Andersen. Today, Renewal by Andersen was kind enough to send Bret a district manager from Anchorage to my home. He spent a long time walking around my house taking readings with a thermal spot reader. After he was done, I asked several questions about the mold forming around my upstairs bedroom windows, the cold air pouring into my downstairs windows to include the window that won't latch and why we never received a follow-up appointment. Bret asked me if I watched the news when I replied No, he decided to give me a long-winded condescending weather lesson.

Long story short, Bret blamed the mold, improperly installed windows and cold air pouring into my house on the window blinds and humidity that was within the approved zone (30-35% according to their website) on us. He also said the outside humidity is 10-15% and that's what we need to maintain in our home even if it won't be comfortable to avoid condensation issues with the windows. Translation, I guess we should live outside. In addition, Bret said the individual who Renewal by Andersen sent to our home last week was inexperienced (this individual visited when it was -20 out and said the windows were installed incorrectly and gave us the owner's number to send pictures of our frozen windows to).

Eventually, my husband became frustrated and asked Bret to leave after Bret made a remark about having a conversation like adults. We still don't have any solutions for our windows and the next 7 days will be -30 and below. In a nutshell, we are a military family, my husband is a disabled veteran and Renewal by Andersen should be ashamed for treating customers this way.

The existing knee walls were finished with cedar trim. Andersen duplicated the look exactly with cedar. I thought that I would have to get someone else to put siding on the outside to match the rest of the porch, but they came with insulation and white vinyl siding to match the existing walls. It looks fantastic. Before the job was done, Andersen inspected the job thoroughly and was prepared with the necessary supplies to duplicate what I had when they arrived to actually do the job. We had our gliding door put in by them, and they hurried, got in and left very quick. After we noticed fingerprints on the screen guide on top, it appeared they were trying to make it fit, there is approximately a 1/4 inch gap. Big enough for all the bugs we do not want in our home to come in. This bothers me very much. But what bothered me the most, was no one said a word about the discrepancy and out they went, if they had said, "hey it is not to our standard, we ordered you a new part and will be back". Nope, nothing like that, instead my husband calls and they suggest he caulk it, or they can. Not acceptable, then they send someone a few weeks later, and he measures and with a measuring tape in a photo shows it is far above their 1/8 inch permissible gap.

So this guy orders a new one, supposedly sends a photo to his supervisor. I am guessing the supervisor Tyler did not get it, for today, he knows not of it. He is called because the new item is... wait for it.... the same length as the old one, and we are told we cannot have the same material, must have this aluminum one which we will have to maintain and it will be louder. This is told to us by both service guy and supervisor, but if we want they can send some kind of coil and we can keep our quieter one that won't fit correctly, but this will 'patch' the gap. So how is this service? Why would someone get this from Andersen renewal if there is no way for them to rectify their mistake other than rigging some fix or using replacement parts of different quality, when I have not had yet, what I originally paid for. This is unsatisfactory!

The sales pitch was basically the same as all others. This is why our windows are so expensive and the best. Measurements were thorough as there were 2 different people though the second person only confirmed half of the window measurements. The initial scheduling was very limited and there was always only 1 day available and if you didn't accept this day it would be another month. When the day arrived the team started right away and provided a layout of what was going to happen. Out of the whole experience I would say the installers were the most professional (aside from them leaving big ruts in my yard from the trailer.

Since there were 9 windows being installed this was a 2 day job and after the first day weather forced us to push out the second day. The installer said the scheduler would call the same day and try to schedule a Saturday finish. I was was fine with this as the windows were partially finished and they needed to be completed before more bad weather arrived. Well, the scheduler called a day later and was telling me that they couldn't finish for 2 weeks as that was the only spot available. That didn't sit well and at the end of the day I needed to redo my schedule to accommodate what the installer had told me. The job was finished 2 days later and installation looks to be fine.

Well, now that it is completed and our colder weather has arrived the windows are not even close to what the salesman promised. The amount of cold air coming in is no different than the original 30 year old windows these replaced. This morning I checked and there is condensation all over the bottom of the window and water is gathering where the window meets bottom frame. I have a bunch of very expensive windows that are a month old and full of condensation. In the past We have had a different brand of window installed that did not have the condensation issue, and cost much less. At the end of the day these windows are NOT worth the money and DO NOT provide the benefits they say.

I was told by that installer that 90% of all the doors installed are like that. I wanted the casters replaced so they sent out 2 new casters. Not as bad as the first set but bad just the same. The installer didn't plumb the door when done. So they sent out a third installer to plumb and checked to see if he seated the casters correctly.

Stay away from these people for your sliding doors. Btw mine were installed by Pa. Renewal by Andersen. The main company called me and sent out a bag of casters for me. I live in Fairbanks Alaska. We bought our windows this past summer. Well here it is not even -40 below yet and these windows are frozen with glacier ice on them. Can't open the front door without prying it open and chiseling ice off. The sliding door is useless. The whole door is frozen in ice. The windows we had prior were never like this, just a mold problem. Will never recommend these windows to anyone. And the guys they sent out to put them in stole meds out of my medicine cabinet.

We've dealt with Dial One, the previous owner, and we already invested close to $20,000 and $30,000 in their windows and custom windows. The door in our master bedroom had gotten dry rot in it, but there was only a one-year warranty on the Dial One door. We wanted the doors to match up with the back of the house. We had French doors in the living room and in the den. We wanted the same look that faced out on to the patio and the pool. We did look at some other manufacturers, but we reached out to Renewal by Andersen. They sent out a young man who was congenial.

We replaced the door and another bathroom window in the master bath that had become worked because we had such intense heat. That was the only Andersen window that was replaced. The other is similar to what we had but with some modifications because they no longer make them out of wood. They've never done a design quite like ours before. Our door has sidelights. Originally, the concept of our older doors was the sidelights go all the way down to the ground for ventilation purposes and there were screens outside. But we modified that so that they're only going down halfway. The whole installation was done in one day. We had a problem with one of the door locks on one of the other doors that we’ve had through Dial One, and they stood behind the product and replaced it for no extra charge.

I looked for a year, and Renewal was the best made window for the price. They’re expensive, but they’re beautifully made. I got the whole house done and I got the slider, I got the door wall and 12 other windows. There were two installers and they were excellent. They were professional but had a good sense of humor. They covered everything. The house was probably cleaner when they left than when they got here. They helped me move furniture that I couldn’t move, and they put it back. I had paid to take the grates down, and they did a beautiful job putting down a window treatment. At the same time, I had people doing outside work and they coordinated with them. All the guys that worked in the house were a really nice group of guys.

They did everything on schedule. I worked with two different reps, the salesman and then the coordinator that set up everything afterwards. The salesman was great and the coordinator was also excellent. They were very informative and punctual. The installers were very nice too. There were a couple questions they had and they performed a perfect installation -- I didn’t have to do a thing after they were done.

This company has layers upon layers built in so you cannot complain at all to Corporate Headquarters. Horrible experience with a door installation. The front door to our home has never worked properly since it was installed 5 months ago. Since that time, we have had 5 visits from technicians who continue to say that the door needs to either be replaced or reinstalled. I have not received a call back from the service dept supervisor regarding what the next step is. I have been in touch with the project mgr and concierge and still have not gotten any straight answers. In the meantime, I am left with a drafty door that does not open and close properly. Good luck trying to contact Corporate, the number just brings you to scheduling. I had all my windows replaced by them with no issues, thankfully. Will never use them again or recommend to anyone. Next step is legal proceedings if I don't hear from corporate.

I ordered more than $10,000 in windows for installation in July. Workman showed up at 8:00am and still not finished at 10:00pm. Had to wait 3 days for someone to come back (at their convenience) to finish. Destroyed my flower bed and left it full of nails, wood and glass. Also knocked plaster off walls surrounding 2 windows. Dave **, Manager came out to clean up and see required repairs. Workman came back to repair walls and left after 5 minutes - I took the day off to be available. Subsequently came back and fixed the walls. Months later (October) I received a call from Andersen stating one of the installed windows needed repair - the lock was broken.

This was the first time anyone informed me of the broken lock - and they could finally put me in their schedule to repair. Who waits months to repair a window???? Workman told me he was told I still owed on the bill - which had been paid months ago. I WILL NEVER USE Renewal By Andersen again. Beware - good product but service sucks.

The gal that signed the deal for me was okay. I understand that she works by commission and so she wanted to make sure I bought them, which was really not necessary because I called them and I was gonna buy their windows. When I was thinking about how many windows to do and what was the best way to handle it financially, she was in my ear, “We could do this. We could do that.” I was trying trying to figure out if I wanna pay cash when they install them or if I wanna do something else. I didn't need to be pressured. I like the Andersen windows. That was why I bought it. However, a couple of my windows had condensation on the inside which I thought was odd. I couldn't figure out why. Maybe it’s normal. I just was surprised.

The installers were great too. They did a door wall, and that took them about four hours. They cleaned up after themselves. I would’ve never known anyone was here. Overall the windows are great. My couch is right next to the window and I used to sit there and freeze, and I don’t anymore. Not only that, my neighbors don’t smoke in their house and even with the windows closed, you could smell when they were lighting cigarettes out on their porch, which is quite a ways away. Renewal by Andersen's windows are not vinyl. The material of the window frames was superior than anything else, and I thought that they were the best window in my situation. My house all had double hung windows so I purchased those from them. From the time I talked to the salesman until the windows were installed only took a couple of months, which wasn’t bad considering they had to make 13 windows custom-sized. As for the installation itself, they sent a full crew and it was done in one day. They were efficient. They laid down a runner so they wouldn’t track dirt. Each one had his job. There were guys that took them out. There were the guys that put them in and made sure they were square. And There was the guy that put the trim on. So, they had a nice little system going there.

There were a couple of problems when they installed it, however, and they had to come back a couple of weeks later. But even so, they took care of it right away. The one in my kitchen was mis-measured. And it was off by maybe an eighth of an inch, but it was enough that the window wouldn’t operate. They were able to put it in and seal it up for me. They had to come back to have a new one made and replace it, but that was done in a reasonable amount of time. Also, the houses are close -- there is only a couple of feet. So, the gentleman had to reach outside somehow to put the trim on the outside and one of valances broke. It was very minor, and they repaired that when they came to replace the windows. I washed my windows upstairs and I have to get used to how these operate as far as tilting in and out. But they seem to work fine and they close fine. I like the way they lock, too.

I want you to know that having all homeowners be present at the initial in-home consultation is not a requirement of ours. While we've found that it's often helpful to have everyone there during the consult, and homeowners tend to prefer that option (given the nature and scope of these types of remodeling projects), it is not required. I have your contact info and will make sure that the team gets your feedback immediately and that we look into this for training purposes. Thanks again for taking the time to leave us a review. I've been replacing the windows in my home in segments for the past 4 years. I've had multiple occasions where I've reached out to Renewal by Andersen to address drafts coming from the windows. On the first few occasions, I was told that everything was ok (even though there was frost building up in the windows in the house). I was told that it may be the humidifier that was causing the icing of the indoor windows. Of course, I contacted the HVAC people who informed me that the settings and humidifier were fine. Again I contacted Renewal By Andersen and was told that I should not let my shades down all of the way to avoid this from happening. I began to not let the shades down completely, but still continued to have the icing build-up on the windows inside the house.

The season changed to spring and I no longer had the problem; however, when winter returned I had the same problem. The repairmen came by and informed me that I did have some issues with the windows and put in a mechanism to provide a tighter seal. In August, I began to notice streaks in my windows. I was told that the sealant had to be replaced in all of the windows and the office would contact me for the replacement. After several weeks, I still had not heard back from Renewal By Andersen. I called the office and was told that they could not do the sealant replacement until December 2, 2019. Are you kidding me? I've got relatives coming from out of town and Holiday decorations in place in the windows.

When I spoke with the Representative from Renewal By Andersen regarding getting the repairmen in sooner, I was told...."which do you want the draft or the repair". Are you kidding me? It's obvious that he didn't have proper etiquette and was not aware of my 4 year history with leaks. When I spoke to the office regarding this, I received an apology and a...."he should not have said that"; however, I am still on the schedule to have the repairs made on December 2nd. I also requested a call back from my original repairmen who told me that I would only be dealing with him. After 3 weeks, I'm still waiting. Based on the problems that I've been having and the lack of response, I can not in clear conscience recommend Renewal By Andersen. My neighbor asked me who installed my windows because she was looking for new windows. I very quickly told her my experience. She decided to go elsewhere.

The patio door was installed in February of 2019. I rarely opened it during the winter. I live in Massachusetts. During the summer I was on vacation I used the door very little. Because the bottom lock of the door was installed too low, it damaged the door bottom and the rubber. Since I started using the door later on during the year, I found it out after 3 months after installation. Andersen told me that there is nothing they can do because the door has been installed almost after a year. Andersen does not want to take responsibility of their mistake.

Now I have 2 windows installed in September. They all have condensation on it. It is caused by cold air from outside coming into the room and meeting the hot air from inside of the room. Luckily, I had the windows installed during the winter. If they were installed during the summer and I had not noticed it, I would have 2 brand new windows leaking air all over the place. Do not trust Andersen's installation. They are not honest.

Unfortunately I am writing my first negative review. I was initially impressed with Andersen's product. The installation process has not been ideal. The fist time someone came out to measure the windows it was done wrong and they and to come back and remeasure. No big deal, it happens. When the second person came out to take measurements he had to leave because of an emergency. That's fine, I get sometimes things come up. In a week he comes back, measures the windows and we are all set. We were told installation would be a one day job. We ordered six windows. The guys arrived at 9am on Saturday and were gone by 4pm. The guys said they were done for the day and someone would call on Monday to set up a time to finish installing. Ok, I can deal with this. (Even though the windows are being installed in my bedroom and my baby's room. I have no privacy and it's hard for my baby to stay asleep when the sunrises in the morning).

MONDAY, no phone call. My call goes unanswered. TUESDAY, they answer but the person who can help me isn't at her desk. She will call me back. No call back. WEDNESDAY, late afternoon I finally got a call back. They can fit me in 10 DAYS from now! This will make it two weeks from when they started the installation. Are you kidding me! I have three windows unfinished as I am writing this. Also, one of the "finished" windows is missing a piece. I also had to sweep up tons of glass off my driveway. When I purchased windows from Andersen, I had certain expectations. When you visit their website they claim to have set high standards for their customers. For example “Andersen is synonymous with quality and care” and “superior, hassle free installation” and that “they are with you every step of the way and your questions will be easily answered”. Sadly, this has not been my experience. I cannot even get someone to return my phone calls.

I would not recommend Renewal by Andersen. We had a terrible customer service experience - from being reprimanded for a positive survey review, to parts of the install being forgotten, to placing the blame on other employees, it was all awful. For the price of the product - it wasn't worth it. Our slider and window are beautiful, but we do not think the cost and product were worth the insanity we had to put up with, to get them.

We had high expectations - my family had used them recently and had a wonderful experience. But from the get go, it was an awful experience for us. Filled out a survey for them. Gave a positive review. Received an email reprimanding me for my opinion. Never received a confirmation call, when contacting the company about it - was told the employee was out a week ago on the date the call should have happened. Not sure why they couldn't call us during the following 4 business days.

Supposed to have trim installed around our new window. No one told the installer, and didn't supply the materials. Had to call 2 separate people to have it addressed - and find additional time for them to come back outside of the guaranteed one day install. After calling about the trim and how our new slider was filthy - all of the blame was placed on the installer (even after we clearly stated they did a great job). This left us in an uncomfortable position - when the installer called us back confused trying to find out why we thought he was "awful" and did "bad work" - words we never said, let alone said about him.

Installer came back on his own time for the trim (highly recommend him) - main office didn't bother reading any of the notes - and called us three days later to schedule our trim install. Received 4 phone calls in less than 2 hours from Andersen. 1st call telling us they'd schedule the building inspector and we didn't need to be home. 2nd call 20min later saying they left a message for the building inspector (why I needed to know this when I didn't need to be home is unknown). 3rd call was the call to schedule our trim that had already happened. 4th call was accounting saying they transcribed our credit card wrong and needed to confirm the number.

Received another call 2 days later - sent it to voicemail as I was in a meeting. He left me a voicemail. Less than 5min later called my husband, interrupting him at work, to relay the same message he'd left for me. Building inspector was scheduled. Why was this so important that a voicemail wouldn't have sufficed? Especially when we'd been told we didn't need to be home for it. Maybe we had the random bad experience and everyone else's is great. But it was such a headache from start to finish that I can't in good conscience recommend them to anyone.

The Andersen product is beautiful. There really is a quality difference. We had a large picture window with side casements replaced and a sliding door installed where an existing window was located. The sales approach was well - ‘salesy’ and less than satisfying or ideal. However, once in the hands of our project manager that all changed. He was thorough and communicated everything. He was on site multiple times during our full day install and was personable, genuinely.

The install team was the best. Don and his team were true craftsman, careful, checked in frequently, and made sure every detail was perfect. He followed up on minor things that needed to be repaired after the install - although at the time of this review (one week post install) no one from the central office has been in touch to send someone out to repair/touch up. That said if you are lucky enough to get Don and his install team they are great. I would definitely recommend Andersen but I would also suggest going by the showroom. The in-house folks were much more helpful in guiding our purchase decision than the in-home sales staff.

Renewal by Andersen did an excellent job on our windows. I took a chance on them because I liked the quality of the work they said they were gonna do, and they did what they said they would. First, the salesman came out and we talked with him. We got a double hung, a slider and two egress windows. Within two days, they were out to measure the windows. Three days after that, a guy was out to see if there was any lead paint in the windows, and there was. Then about four weeks after that, the windows came in and they said they could install those the next day. They came out and built a shelter around the windows and they installed them all in one day. That was pretty easy and they were ahead of schedule. They were expensive but the quality and the workmanship are there. And I'm hoping the windows last as long as I'm gonna be there.

We went by Renewal by Andersen's reputation and purchased doors and windows for the whole house from them. We ordered sliding glass doors, bedroom windows and a window for the basement, and they are superior quality products. I live on a lake so we have a lot of wind. I had other Andersen windows before, but they were probably 20 to 30 years old and you could feel the wind coming. But standing by the window right now, you don’t feel much at all. Also, their installers were professional and they knew what they were doing. You pay a little more for these windows, but in the long run, their warranty is really good. They send you just a rounded number, though, when the best thing is to see an itemized bill of windows.

We got double hung windows this time from Renewal by Andersen and our experience with their installation team was good. They showed up, told us what they were gonna do, set things up in the driveway, and we let them do their thing. And they cleaned up everything when they got done and in five hours, they were gone. But I called and complained because one of the windows will only go halfway up. My conversation with their rep was short and sweet, and she said they knew what the problem was. She also told me that they were working on it, but I have not heard anything from them. It’s been at least two months now and I’m very unhappy with what’s going on. At first, the overall experience was going smoothly. Had the sales rep visit for a consultation. My spouse was not able to make the appointment, so we called him into the meeting to go over everything. We left thinking we had signed up for a financing plan with $0 down/0% interest in the first year. The installers team was fantastic and we are happy with the product. On feedback about the installation is that a handle was not included in one of the windows, so I'll need to make arrangements to take off work for the piece to be installed.

Then we received a bill from the loan company that included interest. The Sales Rep did not leave behind a written document or email to us the financing plan we signed for, we were confused. We emailed the company and got a call back from the sales rep where he explained that we must have have misheard him and that there was nothing they could do. In short, take a picture of the financing agreement since you will not get that in writing at the consultation nor will it be emailed to you before the agreement is sent to the loan company.

But they put in the glass door to my back porch to go along with the windows and the mechanism on the door broke within the first 24 hours. My install was in August then I had a guy come out to look at the door to fix it, and he said he was gonna order a part. And the door just isn't the quality that I wanted it to be.

So about a week ago, I called and asked that my salesman work with me on returning the door. I don’t want the door anymore. But I haven't heard a word. I put five calls in to Andersen to get this problem resolved from August and I felt like nobody cares. I spent $22,000 with Andersen and this is how I’m treated. The double hung windows I got from Renewal are quality windows and they also have the financing plan. It’s a complete job where I don’t have to do anything, but stand or whatever. The salesperson was really nice, took the time, showed me everything, helped with different options and gave me a cost and it was good. The installers were a little late one morning, but it was on a Monday so they had to go get their truck and stuff. They were good, very polite and clean. There was a little foam splatter on some of my furniture, but not too bad. I like the windows. But I had a little moisture on the windows already and I was kinda surprised about that. They’re also a little overpriced. I’d recommend them, though. But if they were just a little bit cheaper, more people would probably get them.

I got a patio door from Renewal by Andersen after a recommendation from a friend. Everything worked fine. The sales person came in, looked everything over and said, “Here’s what we should do, and we'll get it ordered and we'll go from there." They did a nice job. And if the door holds up the way it is, they may get a chance to do some more next year.

We were very surprised since we weren’t ready. But the rep was very nice, and so was the contact person. They called to make sure that everything was set up on time. It worked out very well and we were very pleased. Also, the installers cleaned up after themselves. I didn’t have to do anything. Before I knew it, the windows were in. When they’re completely closed, it’s quiet as can be. You can’t hear anything. They’re the upstairs bedroom windows so it’s working out perfect.

We purchased 2 doors and a matching storm door from Renewal by Andersen of Central Florida. The in-home design consultant, Darren **, stated that the doors were to be custom-built for our home and that all work including installation was to be done by in-house personnel. That was his selling point which he emphasized numerous times. Quality Custom in-house construction and installation. We were convinced by that statement and entered into a contract paying half of the cost upfront. It took 3 months for the doors to be made and this was expected as per contract. What was not expected was another 2 week set back because they didn't have the parts after they had given us a date for Installation. Installation as per contract was to take 1-2 days.

Upon the first attempt at installation once they had the parts, the installers took 7 hours to install doors that did not hang correctly. My side door had a 1/2 inch gap on the top right corner from the jamb and you could see the sky through it from the inside. When I questioned Patrick the in-house installer, he replied, "I have seen worse". For my front door there was gaps on all 4 corners. The CUSTOM made storm door was not installed because Patrick stated that either he didn't know what he was doing or the door was the wrong size. It was left in my garage. The Supervisor, Chris came out 4 days later, calling me twice to change his original appointment time. He was over 2 hours late.

Once he arrived and "evaluated" the situation, he determined that the problem was that the installers installed the doors without all of the parts. He assured me that the parts would be found or reordered. Second installation attempt was scheduled for October 2nd. The 2 new installers, Terry and Brett, arrived on time and began their attempt. Terry was attempting to correct the side door and asked me to inspect his work. Not only was there still a gap and Lord knows how many visible screws but the facing of my $2500.00 CUSTOM made door was splitting away from its frame.

I told Terry that this was unacceptable and I did not want the door and to not complete the installation because there was no point in dressing up a substandard door, just finished with the front door and storm door. Terry then informed me that I was under contract and that I did not understand that I was required to allow him to complete the work. He then asked if I was a "believer", because a "believer" would not be that way. I then told Terry to get out of my garage. He asked again, "Are you a believer," I said, "Take your tools and God and get out of my garage," which he did. I said please just finish the front door and storm door.

I called Chris, the Supervisor and asked him to come to my house asap. His asap was approximately 2 hours, meanwhile, Terry and Brett are still attempting to install the storm door. After they tried to jammed it in with 25 million screws, they decided that they needed to cut the CUSTOM made door, which they did and the door still did not fit, even with 25 million more screws. The storm door would not close because its handle hit the front door handle. Chris finally arrived and made the decision that the storm door was the wrong size and that the side door was substandard. It should be mentioned that there were 2 separate measurements made before the doors were CUSTOM made. One by ** and the second by Chris.

Bottom line, I do not have acceptable doors, no storm door, exposed wood, screw holes everywhere. I have no time frame as to when they will replace the side door or receive the storm door or when the job will be completed nor does the company. If this is what custom-built doors by Andersen or custom installed doors by Andersen is, they should rename it, "Malcolm X Custom", we install by any means necessary... But don't count on getting your doors. Jovann **

Hello, upfront we ordered windows and were told it would take 3 months before install. Payments start immediately. At three months we get a call for scheduling our install, but on that day no one shows up or calls. When I call to find out what is happening they need to get back to me. Two days later I call back to only be told someone will call me. The next day they call me back and set up install. On install day we ordered 8 windows and they only have 7. No one seems to have an answer about the 8th window. I have called twice and they tell me someone will call (they never do). The installers said someone will call. I’m wondering if they expect to be paid for a job not done? I would suggest going with a different window company, their windows are good but at what cost. No one has a good enough product to be able to treat their customers this way!

My husband does his homework, and we checked with other window retailers. We liked Renewal by Andersen because they’re well-known, and I’ve never heard anything bad about them. And we thought we’d have somebody come out. We told him the problems that we had, and we didn’t wanna go too high in money because we’re seniors. He was very knowledgeable and guided us the way. He said that he would do it. And so, we trusted him. Their rep wasn’t pushy and was really nice, and that’s the main thing. I don’t care how good a product is, if you’ve got somebody pushy, then you think, “Well, I’m not sure about that.”

We had a backdoor put in and we have a patio cover that covers that door. So, I think it’ll last as long as we’re here. Everything was absolutely wonderful. The fellow that came out to put the door in was great. He called when he was on the way and was here on time. He took care of everything, cleaned everything up and was very pleasant. It was a great experience.

The quality of the door was great too until I heard the price. So, that cut down my buying jewelry. Nobody’s gonna see it but you get what you pay for. It’s a well-made heavy door, and it’s one glass. And our dog loves to look and put her nose against it to see us. The only thing we’re having trouble is getting the screen door. But other than that, everything’s great. Renewal by Andersen's a good company that’s reputable and they’ve got nice people. We’ve been very happy with them. If we had to have windows put in years before, I would’ve gone with the windows that the rep was suggesting. But we had already done it.

I’ve had a couple of small problems with the windows and they’ve been attentive. For example, I can’t get one of the screens out of the windows, and the guy is actually coming over on Tuesday. He’s gonna order some new screens for me, free of charge. The installation of the windows was very good too. The were out for two days. A two-man crew was out for two days for half of the windows which are kind of the smaller windows, and for the large bay windows, a larger crew came the next day to put those. They let me sit and watch how they do it. They put all the insulation in and took the time to level everything, and made sure the windows went in square. The windows are absolutely gorgeous.

I found out Renewal by Andersen was the same company and I was very happy. One of my neighbors asked me about the door if it was a little difficult to open and I said I thought so. She called and Renewal by Andersen came back four days later to fix it. They put a new screen door for her and they didn’t charge her, which was what I liked about it. They stand behind their work and when you call them, they won't give you the runaround.

Renewal replaced all my windows upstairs, and later on, I needed to replace my downstairs and I went directly to them. They told me how long they were gonna be and they told me they were gonna be here for two days. They came and painted the frames and later on, something in the door was not lined up correctly and before the rep left, he told me that but they were gonna come and fix it. They came back and took care of it and I'm very pleased. I’m very satisfied with Renewal by Andersen.

I have your contact info and zip code so I'll be reaching out to the location right away with this feedback so that their management can look into it. Just so you know, requiring all homeowners to be home for their free in-home consultation is not a policy of ours. We have found in the past that given the nature and scope of these types of remodeling projects, the homeowners we meet with find it helpful to have everyone present at the consultation. But I do want to assure you it is not a requirement. I'm sorry about the miscommunication. We'll be contacting the team right away this morning. Have a great rest of your week.

My wife and I just had two sets of sliding glass patio doors installed for right around 15K. Everything went well; the doors seem excellent (time will tell!). They are argon-filled double pane low-e glass. Our patio does not get a great deal of sun but is, of course, exposed to cold in the winter, so we look forward to the benefits. I would have given a five-star review, esp. with Andersen's local choice of installation crew, who were pleasant to work with and did a good job. The only bittersweet part was their upfront salesperson.

"Scott" did a good job of selling us what we needed and moving everything forward. When I emailed him (three times!) to inquire how Andersen compared to another company that utilized and instant, electronic privacy glass, he would absolutely NOT respond to me. I could not believe it! The doors I asked Scott about were probably much more expensive and not applicable for our use, but the fact that once he made the sale but then would not respond to my emails after the fact, prompt me to NOT call him for further sales.

Since we had replaced all of our windows in our home just a few years ago, I believe Scott thought there were no more sales to be made. As a *former* salesman, I would remind every salesperson to always be aware of future potential sales, and to never alienate a possible customer. As I've mentioned though, the doors seems great and the installation was seamless. Nate, Garrett, and their installation helper (sorry, I've forgotten his name), were great, and overall this was not a bad installation. I look forward to many years of quality performance from our new patio doors!

My experience with Renewal by Andersen has been really good for the most part. The techs who came out to install were great. The windows are beautiful, however, they sent the wrong kitchen window and they were supposed to swap out the hardware. As soon as they came and swapped out, they had half the window with the right hardware but the other half of the window still has the wrong hardware and it’s unordered. We upgraded the hardware with the brushed nickel and then we added the window at the end. We told them that we upgraded the hardware, but they said the window would be standard, which is the brown-looking hardware. The first install was at the end of June and we’re still waiting for them to come back and replace that. They said it was gonna be done, 1-2-3, but we’re now past the middle of September.

Then, we were looking where we had the drapes installed and on the bottom part on one window, I noticed that there is a hole in the drywall that’s not patched. It’s a big hole that they left and I guess I would just patch it. Still, we’re really happy with the windows and the sliding door. We have skunks in the neighborhood and the whole time before, we would be smelling the skunk smell in the house. Now, we don't smell the skunk smell inside the house at all. One night, I was going to let the dog out and when I opened up the door, I got hit with the smelly skunk. Overall, we recommend Renewal by Andersen.

This is strictly on the sales experience. The sales rep that came to my house was very personable and professional. He wanted to provide his spiel on the windows and what separates Andersen in the market. I explained that I was looking to replace 7 windows. He asked if I wanted to hear finance options. I said no, not right now as it depended on the cost of the windows. He then stated that if I were going to base my criteria strictly on cost then he was going to be the most expensive and that it probably wouldn't be a good fit.

He asked what the estimates were that I had already received. I told him. He said he would be more than this, most likely over 16K. I never saw a sample window, he never took measurements. He just basically assumed I was strictly price driven I guess or he based it off of the fact that I live in a condo and therefore didn't want to spend the money? Not sure. He was at my house less than 10 minutes. I appreciate that he didn't want to waste my time, but honestly whatever window I decide to go with I'm paying cash. I'm not financing and I think he jumped to assumptions.

A most disappointing experience. 3 different salesmen/measurers came by over a period of several weeks. Eventually made a proposal, we paid one-third down payment, they promised to do the job, guaranteed they could. After another pause, we were abruptly told they would withdraw -- apparently uncertain if they could in fact do the necessary repair work (Renewal by Andersen may be good at ordering windows from the Andersen factory, but not so confident they can do anything else). Check for refund took some time in coming; they needed regular prompting. Wasted a good part of the summer (5 weeks delay). We recommend you find a reliable local builder to install an Andersen (or any other) window. We did. Customer in Massachusetts.

Hi Michael, I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work out and we weren't able to help you with your replacement window job. And I'm sorry about the inconvenience this caused. Just to clarify though, we don't order windows from the Andersen factory. We custom manufacture all of our windows in our Renewal by Andersen manufacturing plant in Cottage Grove, MN where our corporate office is located. But, happy to hear you found a solution that works for you. Have a great week.

Renewal by Andersen has been around forever, and so we opted to work with them. Our rep was polite and friendly. He showed us their product and told us all about it. He also answered all our questions. We went for the double-hung windows, and they completed the installation within the timeline that they provided. And so far, we like the product.

Updated on 10/04/2019: After finally getting someone out to repair 6 of 8 windows my original complaint about customer service is resolved hopefully. Just have little confidence in the long term life of the windows with issue after only 20 months in service. The next rain storm will be the final test of the fix.

Updated on 09/30/2019: Window repair man did show up and is currently working on our windows. Remains to be seen if this will stop the leak and recaulking will hold up. I honestly don't believe I would use them again although the initial sale and installation was excellent. It's the life of the window frame I'm most concerned with. Anyway for now it is resolved.

Original Review: Initial installation went well and done in a timely manner. After 1 1/2 years some of the joint seams are separating and one leaked. After finding the original installers are no longer associated with Renewal I've contacted the new company on two occasions and told I'd soon be contacted. Hasn't happened. Am very disappointed in the warranty coverage. Would not recommend Renewal by Andersen based on this problem.

In 2018 my home was appraised for new windows by this firm. The cost, based on my last experience over $13,000, was outrageous. Since that time, until recently I was receiving mailings and emails pushing their windows. A few months ago, I received another quote from Window World and purchased their window for a third of the Andersen cost. Now I am getting mails every week. And sometimes two or three emails a day. And every time I block one email address, another address is used. In fact today, 8/25/19 I have received two spam emails in less than seven hours. I have called the Austin, Texas location and emailed to stop with the junk mail with no resolution. Enough. Stop the spam.

First let me say I decided to utilize Renewal by Andersen services and products because of their premium Windows reviews, customer service, and expertise with installation. Unfortunately I have been very disappointed with the installation on the outside of my home. Large gaps were left on the top of each window and raw wood was cracked and exposed. I took several pictures and spoke with several customer service representatives on multiple occasions but still no resolution and it has been over 3 months since my install date.

I ended up having to finish the job myself due to lack of response. I still have one seal on a window that is rolled but can't get anyone to repair after many attempts to call various representatives. Before Andersen leaves on the day of the install please triple check all work - based on my experience you will have trouble having anything done after you sign the paperwork on the day the installers leave. My fault for not getting on a ladder to inspect all work. I spent a lot of money for professional service which I didn't receive.

Well first we called and got an appointment for an estimate. They came out within a week, on time and ready to give us an estimate based on what we needed done and also gave us some ballpark ideas on future projects. The person was nice and I felt comfortable asking him questions. After we made a down payment and the windows came in they set up an appointment for install. We ended up needing to change it a few times on our end due to another project (driveway issues). They did not give us any problems and on the day we scheduled they came out on time.

The people working, Taras and Yurri **. had such a great work ethic. They came happy, clean, talked about the project, nice to nosy neighbors but kept working hard the whole time. I was amazed at their work. We did the whole upper story windows and they make each room look remodeled. I had no idea new windows could make such a difference. The windows I chose were easy to use and came with screens. Yurri patiently showed me how to use them and take them out to clean. (They also didn’t complain about how bad my old windows were) This pair of guys worked well together, I feel very lucky to have had them on my job. I can’t speak for how everyone else’s crew works but I stand behind these two. At the end I checked over everything and signed off on the job. When I decide to do the downstairs windows I will use Renewal by Andersen.

Wish I had read reviews prior - I had 2 friends who had great results with their windows and did not look deeper into the outfit. The door design allowed for inadequate opening of the slider. For this much $ they should have easily been able to cut the bumper and plug in an exterior door handle that would add 3.5" more to the opening width. They came out said "this is the window you bought - here look at the contract! If you modify the window in any way the warranty is VOID!"

I should have arranged to pay them directly in increments with 20% withheld for final approval rather than falling for a Green Sky interest free loan. The trim job on the door had some flaws and the window turned out to be warped so it didn't close properly. They will not come out to attempt to fix this for over a month - we can't shellac and finish up AND I have zero confidence they can properly fix these problems. I should have done it myself or used Lowe's with a special side agreement with the installation contractor for finishing. I would have saved at least $2,000 and a lot of aggravation.

Kyle came to our home prepared for any questions we could throw at him. The sample product and demonstration in keeping the heat out (a necessity in Arizona) is what sold us. Having worked for a window manufacturing company in the past I knew what to ask from the casement to the frame to the type of glasses and process they used to make the custom windows.

The installation crew came out on time and worked tirelessly through a 115 degree day to get our windows in before the hottest part of the day. Although they experienced a little difficulty in removing a few of the old windows in our stucco sided home, they were very communicative as to the issues. There was some minor damage to drywall from the reciprocating saw cutting from the outside they quickly arranged to repair it. The key to our satisfaction is they communicated with us from the sales visit to getting the repairs set up and taken care of and every step in between.

I filled out a ticket at the fair to win new windows. I told him I didn't want anyone calling for a 2 hour consultation. They called anyway. I told them again I did not wish to have an estimate at this time. Now I'm getting 2 hang up calls per day from this company. I pick up, hear a woman talking and then the call ends, or they wait till I say hello. This is even coming from other states: 651-419-0940, 503-388-4998, and 734-407-7554. CALLER ID SAYS "RENEWAL BY ANDERSEN". I WANT THIS TO STOP!

We had a fine experience with Renewal by Andersen. It is a quality window. We purchased sliders, and we installed them at the end of May. We didn’t have a problem from beginning to end and we were very satisfied with the whole job. It was a pretty good deal.

Immediately after installation we notice the new metal door was buckling in the corner of the window in the door, almost like someone tightened a screw too much. We had Andersen take a look. They assured us we dented the door. A year later we noticed the door buckled in the same spot on the outside of the door, an identical instance of the corner by the window caving in. We had an Andersen technician come out to assess the door again, and this time he agreed the door had a manufacturing flaw given the unusual similarities in how the door warped around the window edges.

Andersen, despite the obvious manufacturing flaw, ultimately told us the door is now out of warranty. Keep in mind we first raised this issue soon after the door was installed, well within the warranty. The customer service woman was so rude and obnoxious. I just wish I never bought doors from this window company. Buyers beware. Don't buy doors from a window company.

Good morning, Isaac. First, thanks for taking a minute to let us know about your experience with us. I want to apologize for it - it certainly sounds like this is absolutely not the type of experience we strive to give our homeowners. Although the product you're concerned with is not an Andersen product, I have passed your feedback and contact information along to the team in your area right away. They'll work on this for you with the company who manufactured the door.

The products are exceptional and definitely transformed our home to a more modern, clean, and efficient look; but we would be remiss if we didn't comment on the professionalism and efficiency of the three installers who were at our home for two days. They were so knowledgeable and efficient and wonderful to get along with that we would DEFINITELY recommend Renewal by Andersen to our friends and/or family. Thanks for a job well done -- which isn't very common these days.

I received a quote from Renewal By Anderson today. It was insanely expensive. Two windows after supposedly good discounts was $5500 and 4 windows was $8000. This is just out of the range of reality. I can go by top of the line Anderson windows regular install windows for 1/3 this number (which my sales person agreed was true). Replacement windows are supposed to less expensive. I found it disturbing that he tried to tell me that their replacement windows are better than the original product. I guess people pay these crazy prices, but I think everyone needs to do more research. All this was a waste of time. I will look for a quality less expensive option.

Good morning, Arlene. I'm not really sure what original Andersen product you're comparing our windows to, but our windows are made of Andersen's exclusive Fibrex material. We are also a full-service company, so we handle everything from sales, design, and manufacturing to installation, service, and warranty. I'm sorry to hear that this wasn't the right solution for you, but we wish you the best of luck with your home improvement project. Have a great week, Arlene.
