The installers came one morning, tore everything out, put the new ones in, got them all caulked up and left it in real nice shape. They also cleaned up after themselves.

I went down to Renewal by Andersen years ago and had them put in a patio door for me. Since then, they put in several windows for us. We're pleased with their work and we like what they do. They've always been very professional, too. This last time we put in six daylight windows in our basement. They gave us six months and they were out here in three. The windows are great. They're sturdy, they block the heat of the sun and they're very energy efficient. We love them.

I had most of the windows in my home replaced by Renewal by Andersen 12 years ago. The warranty has expired. Many aspects of these windows have failed. The crank mechanisms on the casement windows no longer bring the windows close enough to the closure lock for it to engage. My solution, fasten some strong fishing line to the window to pull it close enough to lock. The sliding windows have never been sealed well enough to withstand rain driven by a Nor'Easter storm to prevent water from entering the channels the windows slide in. They overflow into the house.
Some of the crank mechanisms on the casement windows have rusted. The metal trim on the exterior is rusting. The carpenters who installed the windows used the cheapest wood possible (end glued boards) which are coming unglued. It appears that my $30,000 window replacement is near its operational lifespan. It looks like they now offer a 20 year warranty. However, my experience with Renewal by Andersen might be a signal to shop carefully and consider other vendors.

My sister had replaced some windows and Renewal by Andersen did a great job. I called them for an estimate, and the sales guy was great. They were having lots of promotions. Even though it was expensive, I just got a house that I'm going to live out my days in and I wanted something that's going to last and work so I went ahead with it. The windows were installed in the middle of February, in Buffalo, New York. The installers were great. They were so respectful of my property. They took their time and cleaned up really good. The windows are fabulous. They're even better than what I thought they would be. They're the kind of windows that keep the interior at a steady temperature. We're in summer and it's working. They're tinted so there's even some privacy to them. They lock great too. I'm extremely pleased.

Renewal by Andersen was the only one we talked to because of their reputation. They were very helpful and the process went well. We had all the windows in our house replaced and the only problem was it was during covid and the delivery time was a little longer than we had anticipated originally. But that was not their fault. We're very well pleased with the windows. They're costly, but in the long run, they're worth it.

It was excellent with Renewal by Andersen. John who was the salesperson was so thorough and helpful in making decisions. When the guys came to do the installation, they did such a good job and cleaned up from head to toe. The windows looks perfect. But if I'd known I was going to be moving this soon, I wouldn't have chosen Renewal 'cause they're more expensive.

Andersen was NOT worth the 20,000 we spent. There is major design flaws.. On Locks, if you want to leave your windows cracked there is NO safety stopper like our old windows.. NO Handles to hold on to when pushing window up or pulling down.. They will charge you to drill holes in the window to add a handle which I had to do as window's over a sink and counter that I can't push up on the glass enough.. Please do better research than we did.. We paid much less for our old windows and had much better windows other than sound.. Wallside windows are not very quiet. You could hear every car that went down the street. That is why we got new windows..

We ordered a front door from Renewal by Andersen in February 2022. We received delivery in March, but they had the wrong size door frame. They put the door in with the wrong size frame and door and put an order in for a new door frame. I called their service dept. several times and all they can say is the order is in. One time I was told it may not be in until June. It is now July. The bad thing is we are paying for the door through their financing, and we do not have a finished door.

We kept getting the run around, every time it came close to the next appointment time, the company representatives called me with excuses related to Covid or the equipment not being available. My husband and I were getting very impatient and frustrated because there was corrosion damage at the base & in between the old doors and we wanted this project complete before the summer time because we didn't want any rodents or creepy crawlers to get into the house.

We do not recommend working with Renewal by Anderson’s Oklahoma City territory. There was no follow up on installation satisfaction. Others had highly recommended product and work done by Anderson. Our sales experience wasn’t bad, just a bit of unwelcome and unneeded pressure. We contracted for 19 windows at about $45k. We inquired about how much site prep was recommended (we did much more than cited as needed) and if construction cleanup would be needed (answer: no). Communication after the sale was poor, and it was a much longer wait than expected. We removed window coverings, moved furniture and decorative items and such prior to the scheduled install date, only to have a no show.
Short story was that communication and confirmation was quite poor. There was then an understandable weather delay, but the installers arrived very late on the next date a month later. The four installers were cordial, but there were apparent language barriers and they never would introduce themselves. The install was incredibly dirty both inside and out, no contamination control was exercised, was rushed, and clean up was very poor. Many hours of cleanup was required and is still ongoing 4 months later. Some good news. The actual product appears to be working well. Reinstallation of one seriously leaking window by a different service rep was handled quite well, and window handles were installed where needed. But I wished we had gone with the firm who replaced windows at a prior home or the firm that had replaced 80+ windows at a facility for me. The signage announcing our Renewal installation was

Renewal by Andersen gave me a good price. I was impressed with their professionalism. They treated my wife with respect. They were not talking down to her because she was a female like some people do. They answered our questions even if we thought the questions were silly. The initial gentleman who came out to give me the estimate was very straightforward answering my questions. We talked about a window that my wife and I weren't sure if it needed to be replaced. He was upfront and said, “It's perfectly good. It doesn't need to be replaced.” He went through and told me what was wrong with all of our current windows and how it would affect our heating and cooling bills.
The gentleman that came out and did the measuring did the same thing, was upfront with me and answered any questions that I had, made sure he did his job and did it very well. We got several double-hung windows, a large picture window, two sliding windows for our front and another larger picture window with one sliding window in the guest room. I was told the installation would take up to two days, and it came out to be where it took just over six hours. We were very happy. The cost came out to be less than what we were planning.

The rep was good with the presentation and I liked him. The installer wanted to come out a day early to get the job done. The only hiccup we had with installation was that I thought they were gonna be replacing the boards on the window seal itself and that it was gonna be framed back out. They did as far as putting the trim work on the outside but they didn't replace the window seal area. My wife called and told me that they didn't have the boards. I said, “Oh, they don't have it, they don't start. Period.” And they talked to their boss and they told him to go to the lumberyard to get the one-by-fours to trim the windows back out once they were done.
They did it right. They put the cedar on the outside and pine on the inside. But by the time I got home, they were already too far into it that the window seals at the bottom never got taken out and new ones put in. I was like, “Well, I was with the impression that all will get ripped out.” They said, “There was enough money in all of this to where if there were some rotten two-by-fours, they would have got changed out as well.” So I said, “Well, that’s my fault for not being here. But y'all just do what y’all were told. I know it's not y'all.” Overall, the windows are good.

The product is fantastic and exceeds all expectation; however, the process from contract to installation was extremely disappointing and yes it was understood touch up painting would be our responsibility. We paid 2 cash payments with 50% paid at the time of contract and the remaining 50% after installation was completed (Note: This contract was for 19 windows). The challenge was we expected +/-26 weeks and experienced 49 weeks from the time of contract to the time installation was completed and now, 2 week after completion and final payment, we are yet to receive a paid in full receipt/statement. Also, touch up painting included setting nails, repairing cracked trim, finish caulking, adding additional trim nails and then ultimately painting. Finally, the installation contractor was a no show/no call, the first scheduled installation day, causing the installation to take a portion of two weeks instead of three (3) consecutive days in one week.

One thing broke but the tech is gonna come back and repair that for us. We love our windows.

The rep was cordial and very helpful. He tried to give us the best pricing he could for the amount of windows and doors that we were purchasing. He explained everything and showed us the ins and outs as far as what our windows could do versus what our windows were doing. It's nice and I can tell the difference within the house. The installers needed an extra day which was understandable because they ran into some trouble with one of my doors. They removed every window one by one and put in a new one. They cleaned up after themselves and they vacuumed. They put up tape and plastic to ensure that nothing got damaged and dust didn't get all over the rest of the house.
I'm very happy with the products. But it may have a couple of scratches here and there from the installation and they were supposed to send us some touch-up paint. That's the only thing we didn't get. Other than that, the products are the best quality I can get on the market. I could get windows cheaper but I wouldn't have gotten the quality of the windows that I received. I don't have a draft anymore and I don't feel the heat coming in from outside. I can touch my windows and still feel cool. Whatever temperature is inside stays inside. I really appreciate that.
The installer that was sent out also did my basement window. He was very nice and polite. He explained everything to us and made sure everything got done correctly. They installed one of my basement windows where it cracked the first time and he got that fixed. He got it ordered then popped it back in. Nobody tried to shortcut me and say, "Oh, it got broken later."

We like Renewal by Andersen. We're pleased with the guy that came and measured the windows, and the ones that put them in. They did a super job. I put stuff down so that didn't ruin the carpets and they even helped us replace some of the furniture that we had to put back. My husband and I are close to our 80s and we can hardly lift that stuff anymore. So, we appreciated that. Also, they cleaned up good. There was no mess and they took the old ones with. So, we were pleased all the way around. We have a few more windows that we might replace in the house later. So, we would go back with them.

The Renewal by Andersen representative that came didn't seem to be selling but explaining. I also like seeing the windows and how they could be cleaned and the options available because I wasn't always seeing the same options from other vendors. When we made the deal, it was still in 2021 so we got the prices for 2021. We had trips coming up in April and May, so we initially asked that they not be put in too quickly. We wanted to wait until our trips were finished. As it turned out, it took at least that long and maybe a little longer to get the product. But that was fine with us because we weren't rushing from the store.
Whatever date they set for the installation held and the install process was phenomenal. They were a very courteous crew. They didn't have a mess to clean up because they found ways to keep things clean as they went. I thought it would be three days but it was only two. When I looked at the hole that was left after the old windows were removed, it wasn't square, and yet when they finished, it looked like it was. They made it work.
I got seven windows and two doors. One was a fixed-in-place window that was between our living room and a new patio so we had viewing between the two areas without the need to move the window. There were some standard windows, up-down, pull it out to clean it. There is one large almost picture window. It's got two halves where if you needed to escape from upstairs, you could. It goes from left to right, right to left. One is an itty-bitty window in a bathroom upstairs that's fixed in place. For the doors, one was a double French door. The other was a basic door to the exterior. The windows and the doors have been great. Our only problem is they're so nice, clear and clean that we've had a bird die already because he flew into the big fixed window.
The part that convinced me was the forever guarantee as long as I own the home or if someone buys the home. My understanding had been that the guarantee passed on to whoever owned the house. When I finally got the written documents, there were changes made in the warranty agreement. I don't know that my agent knew in 2021, but I feel that I got caught in the midst of a change and the warranty applies when the install is done. That makes sense but I should have been aware of the wording change. That's the only downside of the experience.

Andersen’s done a good job on the replacement windows that I have. There's a couple of minor problems that I need somebody to come back and take a look at. There's a handle missing on the bottom part of one of the three windows that I just had installed. Then, there's a little plastic piece that fell off on one of the inserts on another window. Other than those, the windows look beautiful and are working fine. It's been a terrific experience, and I'll continue along with Andersen for the foreseeable future.

He did his job and didn't interfere with anything. He made it as unintrusive as possible in terms of taking the windows out and putting in the new doors and windows. I like the windows. One of the pieces was mismatched (one was white and one was metal). He said that they should have sent two white ones but they didn't. He was supposed to get the right piece and bring it back. I will call ‘cause that has been a while now.

I have been burned by too many contractors to mention. I saw a rep soliciting people as they walked into the local hardware store [red flag 1] I quickly darted to the right. Then I overheard him say "windows and doors", I had a need and because I trust this particular local hardware store I thought I'd give them a shot. I explained that I had water coming into the house and the soonest they could get me booked for an appointment other than <24 hours was 2+ weeks [red flag 2]. I finished my shopping and in that time an appointment freed up [red flag 3]. I took the appointment.
The rep was on time, personable, seemed knowledgeable although there were a few questions that couldn't be answered and definitely a lot of "we are the best" and subsequent promises made [red flag 4]. The price was astronomical! 3 24 inch octagon windows in unfinished attic space was retail $9k but after "discounts" including a "if you sign today" discount, still $6k [red flag 5]. 2 of the windows are on a third floor and out of reach of any ladder I own and, ya know...COVID...and inflation and labor is hard to find and 3rd floor and water coming in...and we are the best, our own crews, experienced, warranties out the wazoo and you don't have to worry about a thing. It all sounded too good to be true [red flag 6].
I signed the contract and scheduled the "1/8th inch precision measure of each and every window" which was to include an evaluation of any water damage with the full disclosure that if there was structural damage that I would have to remediate that before they could proceed but they'll let me know during the measure so we avoid surprises at install time. I showed them the attic access points, pictures were taken, I made doubly sure that they had all the information they needed and to be sure that there would be no shenanigans day of, was reassured "Don't worry, we're professionals. We got it from here". I really, really wanted to believe that and if I didn't like how things went with the measure I could cancel (up to 3 days from signing the contract, measure was scheduled on that 3rd day).
I didn't like the way things went with the measure. The measure tech, nice guy, showed up without a ladder. He looked at the same attic I looked at with the rep and said "even if I did have a ladder I can't put it on this unfinished attic floor where I need to measure these windows" and after several calls to management concluded "I'll just measure this one we can get to and order 3 of those and by the way, you're going to need to finish that attic floor before we come back out". I lost count of the red flags at this point and cancelled the project. I called the sales rep directly and he seemed genuinely shocked and disappointed. He wanted to "make it right" but right would have been the measure tech knowing exactly what he was getting into and what was expected of him and showing up with a ladder. That time had passed and I had only a matter of hours at this point to heed the red flags and back out, so I did.
I am sure it is a quality product but the only way I could justify that price was with not having to deal with miscommunication between sales and techs, not having measure techs show up unprepared, not having managers saying "just measure one and order 3", not being in the middle of sales and techs and managers and having to advocate for myself to get the high level of service I was paying for. Long story short, brace yourself for the price and temper your expectations on the experience.

My experience with Renewal by Andersen started with Deborah. She was the representative that came to the home, explained how everything worked, took some pre-measurements, and talked about finances. She was real thorough, and the visit was an hour and a half. She was a very pleasant lady, and I would buy anything from her. The greatest part was, after the job was finished, she came back to inspect it, see if we were satisfied 100% and made us really feel at home. It was a really great experience.
Jose and his team of installers were awesome too. We moved almost everything we had to move, and they only had to move one thing away from the window. They were very timely as well as respectful of the home, keeping the house clean and putting tarps everywhere. We discussed about starting downstairs first, then doing the upstairs second and they were good with that. They got it done in two days and cleaned up everything really good. They were very good guys, and I trusted them. The windows are awesome, and I’ve got a lot of positive feedback for them. Compared to what we had, the noise level has just disappeared and it seems like the cooling system is staying cool longer inside the house than before.
I’ve had several people asking about Renewal by Andersen. I tell them, “Hey, call them. It's well worth it.” I’ve had people look at the windows, because unfortunately, we had to trim back a tree in the front of the house that got hurt with the freeze. It exposed the house a lot more and people are seeing the upstairs windows, how nice they look, and the downstairs windows. They’ve been asking, “Who did your job?” I told them. Deborah left some cards around, but everybody’s got something they’re gonna do around the house for the summer. With everybody’s finances, everybody's planning a year out of what they’re gonna invest in in their home. We started planning this last year and it finally got done.
Three months ago, before the install, I got a $10 Subway gift card to let me know that, “We’re still in the process. We know it’s taking long.” It was just to say, “Hey, thanks for being so patient. Everything’s still going on.” However, they told us from the very beginning it would be months before we would get in the install. Knowing that, we were fine. We knew we were taken care of, and we knew it was gonna happen.

Renewal by Andersen said the installers would be here at 10:00, but there was some confusion about unloading their truck and they came at noon. That was fine because they were so efficient and they got everything done, covered everything inside the house, and were very good about keeping everything organized. They did all the caulking, while my daughter did the interior painting. I had to paint the grids to match the rest of my woodwork, and I knew that would be necessary. The installers did everything I wanted, left things in good shape, and the window fits perfectly. It was beautiful. I'm very pleased with my window, except for one tiny detail. There were two missing trim pieces in the box and they said they would order them and bring them here, but they haven't yet. I'm still waiting for that and it's been 10 days.

Of all the companies I have dealt with, Renewal by Andersen is the worst. Of the 6 appts scheduled by cust. service, 5 had to be rescheduled by them. One of the appts which had to be rescheduled was for the installation of the windows. This appt was cancelled less than 24 hours from the time they were to be installed. This was after we had removed all curtains, blinds, objects on adjacent walls and furniture within 3 feet of windows. I called cust. service at least 8 times and had to leave a message in voice mail because there was never anyone to speak to. I did not receive a call back in all 8 instances. Several times I could not leave a message because the mail boxes were full.
The salesman went on vacation with our $15000.00 check in his pocket and no one at the office knew where it was for over a week. When the windows were finally installed (8 months later, not 2 to 4 months as promised) a screen was missing. It was to be ordered that day and I was to be contacted when it came in. After waiting 2 months I called and was told yes, it was in, and made an appt for installation. I got the impression it had been in for a while and I'd still be waiting if I hadn't called.
These are only some of the reasons I will never recommend Renewal to anyone. They may make a decent product, but that does not make up for the lack of professionalism and caring about the customer once the sale is final. If I had known then what I know now I would have saved myself a lot of time, aggravation and money and purchased my windows elsewhere.

That was back in January and then, we had supply chain issues. I wasn't able to get the installation done until about two weeks ago. Renewal by Andersen emailed, called and let me know when they were gonna be and what I needed to do. The installers were very professional, wise and did a great job. I'm still very pleased with the craftsmanship and the work that they did. They were in and out in about three or four hours. They put down mats and they were very clean. I've got brand-new sliding doors, which are fantastic. They've been working like a charm. So, I have no real issues.
It would have been nice to know my budget the first time though. Renewal’s reps came around a second time with what they call a senior salesperson and knocked off a couple of thousand. That's a very small negative thing because in the end, I did sign. But they should be more straightforward the first time and not try and upsell me on stuff.

I had the front door replaced by another contractor and he did a crappy job. The door wasn't square and didn't seal properly. It was like having an open window in the middle of the winter. I had Renewal come in and they replaced about 80% of the windows in the house. So, I decided that I gotta replace that door again and if I was gonna do it, I was gonna do it with a company that does it. I liked the quality of the windows that Renewal installed as well as the workmanship. So, I called them up and told them to come and give me a door. They came and did the job I expected. They cleaned up and left, and I didn't have any complaints. Everything looks good.

We had our front windows done last year and Renewal by Andersen did a great job. The first time, we got all our front windows done, a brand-new front door, a storm door and a new slider. This is our second installation and this time, we got five windows and one new entry door for the garage. I would recommend Renewal to anyone. It's a little bit pricey, but it's worth the price. On both times, the guys were very good. They were very professional, clean, thoughtful and they did the job in a timely manner. I rewarded them for it. The windows and doors are great. My heater doesn't kick on as much this time of the year but once the other windows got put in, it's holding the heat a lot better. Also, you don't hear any of outside sound anymore.

The rep knew what he was doing. He showed me the different things that they had and hooked me up with a triple pane they were experimenting with. So, that's what I got for a few hundred dollars more than the doubles. The installers cleaned up after themselves. It was a professional job. The guy that was the head of it made sure everything was exactly right. At first, he had a large trim around the window and I said, "That's a little big". So did he and he cut it down to a half-inch trim and it ended up perfect. The windows look nice.

I was gonna get other places to come over and give me estimates but when I had these Renewal by Andersen guys come out, they were awesome. They showed me everything and walked me through it. They brought samples. I fell in love with them. I got seven windows. One window has one of those half-moon kinds of windows and a couple were double-hung windows. I had a kitchen window that was small, but I needed something so I could open and shut it because I'm only 5’6’’. I could open it, but I couldn't shut it because it’s over the sink. So, I ended up getting seven windows replaced and a French sliding door, which is fabulous.
The products are awesome. I had just a teeny-tiny issue with the screen. It's starting to make a hole. So, I called them on Monday and got a girl on the phone. She is going to have the screen guy come out and replace that for me. I just had a couple of things here and there like they didn't fill in the screw holes on the windows and on the door, they didn't patch the holes where they drilled in and secured the door. They're gonna come out and fix that for me. Other than that, I loved everything. Everything is beautiful. They did a beautiful framework around it. You can't even tell what door was there before. They did an amazing job.

We needed one window replaced in our upstairs bathroom due to dry rot. We first contacted the company in July of 2021. We did not get our one window until January of 2022, and even then there was no interior trim, plus new cracks in our drywall near the window. Every single step of the process was flawed. They scheduled an installation date, but failed to check if the window was actually manufactured (it wasn't). Claimed supply chain issues. Said they would notify us the instant the window arrived in the warehouse, but didn't.
After repeated calls from me, they found the window in the warehouse, and it had apparently been there for a while (blamed this on new staff). They 'forgot' to drop off the exterior trim boards that I needed to paint prior to installation -- I had to call and ask for them. Said someone would call me for an installation date/ but didn't; I had to call to schedule installation.
When the window was installed, it was backwards. We specifically asked for the hinge to be on the right and the opening to the left (because all the bad weather comes in on the right), but the hinge was on the left. There was no interior trim. I had to call to arrange the trim. Multiple MULTIPLE phone calls and emails to get the correct window. Each person I talked to was super nice, and promised to take responsibility for fixing the problem, but no one ever returned my calls and there was no solution offered.
Finally, I found out the name of the manager, Cherish **, who was the first AND ONLY person to offer a solution of any type. We ultimately kept the original (incorrect) window because it was going to be another six months to create one with the hinge on the right. Not my preference, but I was so sick of RBA at that point that I just wanted to be done with it. Cherish ** arranged for the interior trim to be finished and for the drywall to be fixed, and gave us a bit of a discount. Throughout the entire process, I got the sense that the company is overly splintered and communication is terrible. If it took me six months to get one window (the wrong window) installed, I can't imagine the nightmare that could happen with a larger project.

The rep was very knowledgeable and straight-up with us. That was part of the reason why we took Renewal by Andersen. However, they put in the wrong windows. They put sliders in, thinking that we had told them we were doing the whole house. But we're doing it in phases. They measured for sliders and not for double hung like the other ones, where the first set is right, and the second set is not. But it wasn't the installers' fault. They just put in what was on their truck.

They dropped one of the windows and the panel broke and then I have to wait another month and a half for the replacement to come in. But overall, the quality is good. The designer came out to help figure out how to do the windows. I wasn’t seeing a wow factor until she came out and laid it down. In a matter of minutes, there was the wow factor and I was ready to go. The installers were terrific. They were like a well-oiled machine. They hardly talk. They just worked and worked hard. Everybody knew what to do. They did a really beautiful job. They finished a day and a half before what was told me they would. I'm really, really happy overall. Even the person who called to schedule the installation was a cut above. In these times, it was a pleasure to talk to someone that wants to explain it all and make sure I was going to be happy with it.
After the installers left, it was not more than an hour until somebody from Renewal by Andersen called me to ask me how they did. She seemed to really care and ask questions and wanted to know. She was excited about it. It was like they were sharing in my excitement at the moment. It was a breath of fresh air to work with Renewal by Andersen because I was getting that kind of positivity from them as well. From the beginning to the end, from the salesperson to the designer, to the customer service person, and to the installers, they acted like they really cared that this was going to be a great project. It was kind of over the top.
It was all beautiful after the installers left. But then I found three little things that needed attention. There are two windows that are close together but they both crank from the same side, and it’s over a fish pond that's built into that lower level. So I can't even reach the handle by doing it this way. I called and left a message, but I have not heard back from anybody. It’s been about a week now. There was another little issue that I saw right away and pointed out to the installers. He agreed and took a picture of it and sent that in. But I haven't heard back about that either. The installer even said, “If you want to just pay 90% or 95% until this is resolved.” I appreciated that offer. It made me feel good. Because of that, I went ahead and paid for the whole thing. But now, I wonder if I have done the wrong thing. It was very expensive and it lived up to my expectation until now.
Sarah, I'm sorry I am reading this review a bit late, but I'll share this feedback with the team you worked with right away in case you haven't been helped yet.

Renewal seemed to have a very good product and reasonable pricing. We had them replace all of the double-wide windows in our house and two sliding glass doors. We ordered the windows in April and they put them in in June. It took a while because they were custom made. But they stuck to the timeline, and everything was good. They set up a date and a time to show up for the installation, and they showed up. It took them a couple of days to replace all the windows. They came in and covered the furniture with cloth, and they also put runners down to keep from tracking in on the floor. They cleaned up after themselves very well. They did a great job. Renewal stands behind their product. One of the windows that they installed was warped, and they had to come back and replace it. It took a little while because they had to reorder the window to have it made. But they came back and replaced it with no problem.

Our entire home is Andersen products. So it made sense to stick with Andersen for replacements- The sales meeting with the rep was suppose to take 60-90 minutes-totaling 2 hours- the rep talked at us, talked about himself a majority of the time, and failed to listen to exactly what we wanted and promised things that were not delivered. My entire interior is off white/cream. Everything we have is cream (canvas) interior and terratone exterior. He assured us that although he was writing white in the notes it would match. Months later, it is installed, and ALL interior is pure white! The wrong color screws were used, they are exposed, and one door is defective, and we were not notified until install day that the screens were on 4 month back order- the exterior capping to match the rest of the windows and doors was done in the wrong color and not as promised.
Any time I call or email- I am told someone will contact me or they are looking into it- Someone came out to balance the one door and the other replacement parts are coming in who knows when- since I signed the contract- that is why we are stuck with the incorrect color- he would the sales rep mislead us when apparently canvas wasn’t an option?!?! To make the sale??? There is a complete issue with communication all around-sales-installers-customer service…. I didn’t research beforehand since I assumed dealing Andersen would be a great, easy experience, I feel like I am not being heard, and Andersen would rather avoid me all together… This is a very expensive mistake!!! Renewal by Andersen makes a wonderful product but extremely pricey. The company is all about sales, and the installation side uses shortcuts and their workmanship is terrible! They hire subcontractors that have different levels of installation experience. I had my entire home and gambrel garage windows and doors replaced. The installers used too much caulking, and in my opinion looked sloppy and amateurish look. Caulking smeared onto my deck as well as on my Cedar clapboards of my home. I addressed the issue with the Team Leader of the crew, and he reassured me he would take care of the problem, which he clearly did not!
In regards to the inside of my home, when installing the new Provia Steel Entry Doors they damaged the sheetrock in several areas of my home, and once again used too much caulking on the windows. Due to the poor workmanship of this Company, I had to spend additional funds to hire my finished carpenter to complete the job. It was not what I expected from Renewal by Anderson and all the hype about their reputation. A business that weighs success by profits and does not provide extraordinary customer experience.
The company sent Andy, a long-time employee of their company to my home NUMEROUS times to address the issues I encountered during the initial install. It is obvious to me; the company does not communicate effectively, specifically management with the installers. Often times Andy would arrive at my home without the necessary parts to complete the job, only to return on another date. I would arrange for coverage/work from home to accommodate his visits. Finally, I reached my breaking point and communicated with the company giving them one more chance to complete the job to my satisfaction or I was going to seek legal counsel. I strongly suggest you avoid Renewal by Andersen, find another company that strives to please their customers, and are satisfied with a fair profit. I am very disappointed with the overall experience.

The team that came and did the installation were absolutely fantastic! They were professional, insisted on doing a great job and not just the bare minimum, and had a camaraderie which made the day go by significantly faster. The installation day really was a great experience and I'm so thrilled with how everything turned out!
Once they were done - and having let us know that the screen doors were on backorder - we were contacted by Renewal by Andersen, who told us that we wouldn't be charged for the screen doors until they were installed and that they would try to make that happen as soon as possible. We're fine with waiting because the experience up until this point has been full of transparent communication. Overall, we cannot recommend Renewal by Andersen enough! Although RBA pricing is MUCH higher than Home Depot or Lowe's, it is a complete package. The problem was that a screen door, included in our purchase, was not available (supply chain, Covid issues) when replacement doors were scheduled for install. Not a problem, one would think. But RBA then scheduled the screen installation at least twice - and each time required that we be present. First 2 screen installs were either delayed, or couldn't be completed due to missing parts from screen kit. And when I asked installers if we needed to be present, both times they said "no". But corporate told us we were misinformed and did need to be there. As it turns out, the ONLY reason they wanted us present was so RBA could immediately collect any monies due. No recognition of our inconveniences for rescheduling! Won't deal with them again - they have lost their customer focus.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're very sorry about the inconvenience caused by timeline and scheduling issues, Dave. We'll take this feedback to the team right away.

I liked Renewal by Andersen's reputation. Renewal by Andersen was close to the timeline, considering everything that went on. It was delayed a bit, but that was understandable. I was extremely impressed with the installation. The team who replaced the windows were professional and helpful. Also, they had attention to detail. They put down protective covering on the carpets and floors, and they cleaned up after themselves. It was a very professional job. They knew what they were doing, and were very efficient.

Original Review: April 1, 2022
We ordered what we considered a large project for our means. This means about 25 windows and a new front door unit. We ordered this one year ago in 2021. Our expectations set from the beginning is that it would be 2-3 months for the job to be complete. We have patience, and are understanding of a pandemic and supply chain event unlike we've ever seen around the world. However, a shift in our expectations were never communicated - we had to reach out to them, and even then, nobody could ever tell us when our project would be scheduled. From what we thought was June turned into August, and then later, and we finally had a crew at our house in late October. Never once did they proactively reach out to us to let us know there would be delays - never.
The installation crew we had was top notch, cared about quality, and the work they did was pretty amazing. If it wasn't for the care they showed and concern for great workmanship, we would have been in a bigger dilemma. It was the installation crew that informed us in October of 2021 that one of the windows (of a larger living room replacement) wasn't measured correctly, and needed to be re-manufactured. That was on Day 1 of the Install. I continue to be very thankful of that crew, because if they would have torn those windows out and the replacement wasn't a fit, the front of my house would have been nothing short of a disaster.
On Day 2 of the install, this same crew, who obviously cares about the work they do, informed us that the door frame unit was also not measured correctly, and they would not be able to install the door. This would also need to be re-manufactured. At this point, it's very late in October, and we know that the coldest part (North facing) of our house was going to be without 50% of the replacement we needed done, and now we had to figure out if we would put up the window treatments again, but we knew it was going to be cold and drafty there once again. In our mind, we know RbA was already horrible at communicating with us, but we figured we'd get our properly measured pieces by Spring. It might seem like no big deal, but this was just an exhausting event ending in disappointment.
In February, we were called and told that everything was ready and that the crew would come out on March 31st to finish the job. Great! The financing they helped us set up was already amortized and we've been paying for a job for several months that hasn't been finished. I should really go to a different site to complain about that, but I'm sure it's not legal what's happening here. Yes, I am paying for a job that isn't finished.
Yesterday, March 31st. The installer (I had not heard from ANYONE since the initial call to set up the date) calls, I clear out the garage so they can work under cover because it's not the nicest day out. Different installer, but obviously the same care for quality of work. However, his truck doesn't have all the equipment they need to 100% finish the job. No material for 2 major pieces of interior woodwork that needs to be done, and partial material for other internal woodwork that needs to be done. He doesn't have notes from anyone about what was needed, and was obviously not told a thing about the job itself, the type of wood we are using, etc.
Here's the kicker...during the almost 5 months when they took the door frame/slab unit back to their warehouse, they've lost the door. So obviously, if they mis-measure the unit, they are going to not eat that cost, they are going to re-use it somewhere or somehow. I'm sure that frame is installed somewhere in a house in the United States somewhere. So we have a frame on a truck that is the proper measurements, but now there is no door to go with the frame, or no slab as they call it. They're looking for it, but can't find it.
Where's my door? Where's the communication? How can you send an installer out after 5 months without all of the equipment to do their job? How can you send me surveys like I'm a paying customer when the job isn't done? Why am I paying off the financing for a job that isn't close to being finished? Why is it that nobody calls me to set my expectations properly? Why is it when I call, nobody ever picks up the phone and it's looped to voicemail 100%? Why is it when I've asked to speak with people in management, it's ignored?
So - we were excited. We needed new windows. We liked the product, and felt that it was the right fit for our home. The initial sales process was pretty good - it didn't feel like we were being sold (although we were) but it was consultative selling. From there, it's been a horrible, stressful, dreadful experience, with the exception of the installers who care about quality, and tell it to you straight, even if it's not what you want to hear. It is not a feeling, but a fact that they don't care about us, have no concerns over our schedule, our life that has been disrupted, and certainly have a lot of work to do on their client services and operations teams being in lockstep and properly communicating with each other, but more importantly with their customers. I see that I'm writing this on April 1st...I am the fool.
Mark, thank you for taking a minute to write us a very detailed explanation of your experience with us. I'm very sorry to hear about the inconvenience and the lack of communication from our team. I've shared this feedback with management this morning.

The installers were great. It was during the pandemic, and they were very safe and wore their masks when they needed to. They cleaned up after themselves and all around, they were good. They showed up on time, left when they said they were going to leave and came back when they were gonna come back. We had some glass doors done for our sunroom and it's really good. It's made our sunroom very efficient and we're getting more use out of it.

This company is the worse at customer service. Since day 1 of the installation process has been a nightmare. No confirmation call or text reminder sent the day before the appointment. Installers showed up at a different time and nobody informed us about this. We were told that we did not have to make a payment until windows were installed. Guess what?? We were billed for the first monthly payment. Since the process has started nobody has been able to helped us out. We wanted to stop the purchase and we were told that it was not possible. Once someone comes to repair a window and makes the report to the company, somehow nobody has an idea about who came to your house. They don't know what I'm talking about. This company train their employees to persuade the customers so they can make a profit.
The sales representatives puts you under pressure and you feel forced to make the purchase. As a new homeowner you want the best for your house, but this was the biggest mistake we ever made. Once you signed their contract, they totally forget about customer service professionalism. No one seems to care about their customers concerns or complaints. Every time I have called for a complaint I get transferred to so many people and nobody helps out. Every phone call ends up with "you will receive a call back" but no one calls back. It has been 7 months and I'm still waiting on the call back. I have sent 2 letters to corporate and they still not getting back to me.
Windows by Andersen just cared about the profit of every contract signed by their customers. Everything is based on lies and peer pressure is their best option to trapped customers. The employees are very rude and unprofessional. Their products might be made of good materials but it's ridiculous expensive. I wish I never made this decision. I don't know how this business still running. I'm very disappointed. Windows by Andersen should be embarrassed of promoting their business and treating customers like garbage.

We purchased the windows and had them installed in Jan 2022. We noticed air leaks in all the windows. We called them and they have come back 3 times so far and STILL had not been corrected. We have called again, but this time have not received a response back. We are very frustrated because we spent $34,000 for windows that leak. We already had windows that leaked. We had a little bit of an issue. The screen door portion of the sliding door was on backorder and when we ordered it, there were two choices. We talked about it with our sales rep and at the end of that discussion, we decided on the rollup. They took four months to get the rollup in stock and when the service guy came out, we found out that the only thing that held the rollup screen door shut was a magnet. We have two large dogs and I was wondering if it was gonna hold them and the service guy said it would not. I called customer service and I explained that we wanted to consider changing it to a sliding door. They said that they would have our sales rep call. That was a month ago and we haven't heard anything from her. But other than that, our sales person was right on top of things and the product seems to be solidly built and it was installed well.

Frankly, after the 1st set of windows were installed, he didn't have to. Our experience was everything that I expected from Andersen. The 2nd time was exactly the same! Jason kept me up to date with the information about our order. The real difference this time was that the existing window was racked because the initial installation was not done correctly. Wes, the rep, did a wonderful job. I’d give that young man kudos, lemonade, apple pie and ice cream. His presentation was great. He went through it and redesigned the windows the way I wanted them to. He made me feel like family. He talked to me nice and wanted to know what I want. He did a beautiful job and our personalities clicked. You don’t feel watched nor pressured. I give that young man an A. I liked the quality of the windows he showed me. It's a little expensive and I'm a retired person but I’d rather have quality and longevity, than to get something less and not be happy, and not have longevity. The order has to be placed and I would most likely not get them until July.

Sam was my salesman and he was very positive, personable, and honest with me. That was why I was able to listen to him and make a decision in regard Renewal by Andersen. We got a new door in my kitchen, some side doors, and screens. The kitchen door is wonderful and I have no regret. The quality is excellent and even the hardware. I've had compliments from folks because the door is in my kitchen. This one is very secure and very attractive. My kitchen is walnut. The door frame is brown and it has a little paint inside. It's easy to clean because the little frame wooden things aren't in the way like they were before.
But I made a mistake. I have a full glass door and it's not good. I had to put some of those little stick-ons and the view of where the eye would be because I don't want anybody to walk through that glass. I should not have gotten that. As for my side door, I got the convertible where you can lift it up and down for the screen then the storm window. Overall, the doors are wonderful and I would recommend them to anybody. As a matter of fact, I had a sister-in-law who came over and wanted to know about the doors and where I got them. They're costly but it's worth it because I feel very secure. They're solid and sturdy.

This home is my largest expenditure that I own and I wanted the best windows for the house. I've been in it for 20 years and I didn't want plastic windows. I had Renewal by Andersen do 16 windows and this has been the most wonderful experience we've ever had with owning a home. The salesman that sold the windows to us was perfect. I was in sales all my life and I hope I did as good a job as he did. He explained everything to us. We had had two other companies give us a bid on the windows and we saw samples of their windows and we weren't happy with them. We had plastic trim windows before in the home when it was built. When we saw the frame and the quality of these windows, there wasn't any choice other than Andersen. The crews were the same way. They did their stuff and cleaned up after themselves. It was just a terrific organization.
There were 12 windows on the back and we did those first. It only took about four weeks to get to the windows in. We then decided to do the front soon as the installers finished that and it took a couple of months to get the windows. We ordered them in November and they did them here in March. Other than that, we were pleased. I'm close to Interstate 30 and you can't hear the interstate traffic at all. We had a bird chase a dove into one of the windows on the backside and it just went thud. It was right by my head and that left some dust from the bird's feathers. During the cold that we just had at both times, the frame of the windows stayed about slightly cooler than the inside of the house. We didn't have any cold air coming in the home.

You better hope they install it right the first time and you don't need anybody to come and fix anything. If you do, it will be super hard to get ahold of anybody and when you do, they won't actually listen to you. I had a front door and storm door replaced. Everything was going well for the first 2 weeks, then neither door would close correctly. I emailed and called for 3 weeks with no response, then I finally heard from them and they sent somebody out. He told me to wait another month as the weather stripping just needed more time to settle. Also, the installers took a chunk out of the siding on my house. When I mentioned it to the installers, they claimed that damage was already there, which it was not. The guy that came out also fixed that with some caulking, which is fine, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that the installers tried to tell me the damage was already there.
Well, a month and a half went by and the door closing problem was not any better. On top of that, because the doors wouldn't close correctly, a wind picked up the storm door and it pulled away from the frame, cracking the frame in the process. I spent a month trying to contact somebody, ANYBODY, at Renewal. The guy that came out and told me to wait another month wouldn't even respond to emails or calls. I sent pictures of the damage and what needed to be fixed. I finally got a generic TEXT message one day that said my part had come in and they scheduled a date for my repair. Never even bothered to call or email to discuss what was wrong. Well guess what?
The guy got here today and the only part they ordered was the flashing/weather stripping to fix the closing problem. Nothing to fix the actual part that broke on the storm door. Maybe if somebody would have CONTACTED me, I could have told them what was going on. So now we are going to have to wait who knows how long for them to actually order that part and come out and fix it. Very poor communication and customer service. Even after the doors were installed, nobody contacted us to ask how the install went or if we have any problems or questions, which seems like something a company that claims to have excellent customer service would do. Instead, they made us feel like they just wanted to take our money and run. I recommend NOT using Renewal by Andersen. I am glad I didn't ask them to replace our windows and patio doors. We will be using another company for that.

The Renewal by Andersen salesman came and went through the demonstration with us. We looked at the heat resistance. They did the setup and did the demonstrations, the composite window versus all the other things. The composite really caught my eye because of the climate where we live. We have an extreme cold in the winter and fairly hot in the summer. The resistance of the composite window, not cracking, not fading, was a selling point. Then, the windows where they don't transfer the heat, they came and put them in. It was an all-in-one package was another thing that seemed good. We have a wood finish in our house where they put the windows. I knew that we would have to seal the trim, but I figured that the wood-clad surface facing inside would have been sealed. But I ended up having to do that.
When the installer came to put them in, as he was unpacking them, he noticed that each window had a little bitty chip in the wood's finish. He said they go down a big roller, and he thought somewhere on one of those rollers there's the same thing catching every little window. We called them and there was a debate on whether we would install them or order new windows. When you order, it's three months out, at least. We received a cost deduction. They made compensation for that over the phone. We took pictures of them and sent them back to the manager that we were dealing with and I was very happy with that.
They're not cheap windows. Probably one of the most expensive windows that you can buy. But the rep was honest and he went through the whole process. We also didn't do a thing other than move the furniture and they helped us move furniture when they got there too. They also cleaned up their mess and they took all the old windows.

My house is 100 years old and I was having 11 vinyl replacement windows upstairs replaced as they were fogging/drafty/hard to open and close. At first I had a bit of buyer's regret as I waited for the windows to arrive because of the sticker shock, but once they were actually installed all of that evaporated. The installation team did an amazing job, they let me know that the previous replacement windows were installed without removing the original 100 year old counter weights and no insulation had been put in the channel. No wonder my windows were so drafty before! They were so badly installed before that they were leaking air from around the window itself!
Everything was kept very clean and they were lightning fast. You might think going super fast meant they were rushing/not taking care but that is the opposite of how I felt they did the job. They took the time to explain what they found and how they were fixing things which made me feel they were doing things thoughtfully and with purpose, even with their speed. This was not just a, "let's get this job over with and move on to the next job" attitude. Beyond the installation, they also took the time to think about the aesthetics of my windows, both with the exterior aluminum wrap and the interior.
They installed additional trim pieces on the interior to cover/fill the gap that the previous install hadn't bothered to do, and now my windows look much more seamless and clean in their interface with the casing. Exterior wise they made sure that the wrap style matched the other existing windows that were not being replaced as the front wrap and sides had different styles. Crew was very polite, very accommodating and very professional. I am very happy with how my windows turned out and I'm sure my heating bill will be happier now too!

Installation of two exterior doors and one sliding glass door took from 10/7/21 until 12/17/21, requiring seven visits by Andersen, and after six visits the two exterior doors failed City inspection. Multiple phone calls and emails, many not returned unless I followed up repeatedly. "Concierge" assigned to me had a habit of asking ME what the status of my project was because she did not know/could not find my paperwork. Operations manager gave me information which directly contradicted what I'd been told by concierge and also even contradicted himself over the course of a single phone call.
Two months after project completion I was sent a customer satisfaction survey and received a voicemail message encouraging me to complete the survey and to call if I had further information I wished to share. I called because I have a detailed written chronology which I thought might be helpful. I was told the person who'd left the voicemail message was not in but she would be left a message to call me back. One week later, she has not called back. Renewal by Andersen DOES NOT CARE about your customer experience.

I got four double-hung windows. The guy who came was terrific. He went over the product, showed us the sample and demonstrated how easy it is to clean. We saw a sample of the screen which disappears. You can't see the screen at all when it's in. Talked about its insulating properties and the warranty too. His presentation was really professional. He was nice about it and wasn't pushy. The crew was terrific too. They were here all day. One of the things that my wife and I were very pleased with was that they took the time to clean up after the mess that was created when you're doing a job like that. Everybody did a good job.

Needing a new front door and patio door we decided to go with a higher estimate with a well established company. What a total disappointment that turned out to be. After a rot problem that Renewal had said was possible, and seemed fairly common. Renewal completely has pushed us to the side. So during installation there was rot discovered. The plan was to temporarily install the door until I had the rot repaired. Once the rot was repaired Renewal said they would come back out and do the final installation of the door.
The rot was repaired right before Christmas. The week between Christmas and New Year's I made a couple of calls and left messages, with no return call. I figured it was the holiday season and after New Year's I would get a call. A few days after New Year's I still had not heard from Renewal, so I decided to call them back. Took 2 days still for them to return my calls. During that call I was told they would schedule a day for the installation and get back to me. Still a few days later I hadn't received any call back. Not sure what to do next since my calls are not being returned. I let a week go by. I then get a follow-up call about my installation. I explained the final installation still had not been done. I also explained all the calls with no return calls. He was really helpful and said he personally would take care of it that day.
I asked him if they could please send the original installers, (they had installed a patio door on my house the same day as the original installation) I told the manager they did a great job . He said he would try to get them out there. The manager called back a few minutes later with the installation scheduled for the following Tuesday. But he also informed me that the original installers were too valuable to send to my home, because they could install 2-3 doors in a day. So after all the non-returned calls I still wasn't a valued enough customer to get the good installers. So I told the manager the following Tuesday would be great. He said for me to expect his call first thing Wednesday to make sure the installation went well.
The final installation of the door is HORRIBLE. We have a half inch gap above our door on the outside of our house. That is just filled with a huge bead of caulk. It looks like a 2nd grader did it. Honestly, if I could post the pictures people would be shocked. So the installation was a complete disappointment. I wasn't to worried though because the manager was going to call the next day and this would get fixed. Well surprise! Never got a call back. So I turned to their social media and posted a review similar to this one and got a call from a regional manager and he said they would have someone out that Friday to fix it.
Friday a company representative came and looked at it and was embarrassed by what he saw. Told me this was not their quality of work. It's now the following Wednesday, again have gotten no response with a good rain forecasted in 2 days. I really feel like the rot I had replaced will have been pointless. Since the water will eventually seep though that huge gap. I need my windows replaced also. I know one company I will NOT call for an estimate. Renewal is one of the biggest disappointments I've had in a company's expectations.

I liked working with Renewal by Andersen. The rep was really courteous and knowledgeable. He was coming to give me measurements and a quote. It was a little pricey for me and they're supposed to be sending someone back out to redo it because I told him it was double the price of a quote that I had. The material was different but it was the same amount of windows, and he told me upfront that it would be more than what I was quoted.

Initially, we had sticker shock but understood prices have soared lately and we were getting a reputable product. It took a considerable amount of time before our windows came in (several months). When the install team came in initially, they were very polite. They got the job done and we were happy about the install. However, I was very upset when I came outside to inspect the job the following day, and our brand-new patio set had the cover taken off and was missing. Apparently, the set needed to be moved but in doing so they removed the cover and discarded it. No one from the install team advised me that it was left exposed to the elements. Furthermore, the cover that came with the set is gone!

The reps were all very friendly and clean. They cleaned up after themselves very well. We've even got a couple of yappy dogs and that didn't seem to bother them. We got new interior doors both front and back and then new exterior doors front and back. We also got a new sliding door off of our family room. The timeline was a little long, but the salesperson we talked to was very upfront about how long it should take or once everything came in. He gave us a pretty good outlook of what to expect.
The doors are very, very nice. The door wall they have has a really good locking mechanism on it. We’re real close to the lake at Saint Clair so we get some pretty nasty winds off of that side. With that door, if you don't take it, close it, and lock both locks on it, it doesn't seem to seal 100% from the wind where you'll still hear it a little bit. I don't know if that's normal or not.

Ten months ago we signed a contract with Renewal by Andersen to replace 22 windows in our home. We were told that delivery could take up to 16 weeks. The windows were finally delivered after five months and we were understanding of delay due to issues related to the pandemic and supply chain. Unfortunately, the installer discovered the windows were the wrong size due to fabrication error. We were told at that time the windows would have to be reordered but that our order would be moved “to the top of the list.” It has now been more than five months and we still have no windows or word of when they will arrive.
During this time we have had to postpone other scheduled home improvement projects including painting the exterior and interior of the house and reinstalling shutters that were taken down in September in anticipation of window installation at that time. The last we heard from our customer service representative was on January 10. We were told at that time the windows would be delivered in "a few weeks." It has now been seven weeks and we have still received no word. I'm constantly bombarded by promotions from Renewal by Andersen. It's hard to understand how they can continue aggressively promote their product when they can't fulfill an order that was made nearly a year ago.

We have one error on one window, which happens to be the largest window in the house and they're redoing the window and putting it in. Because we changed the grid that was in it to look different than all the other ones that are in our subdivision. We also have a screen coming in on the door wall. We were happy with the installers and with Gail that they realized that the error was on their end and not on our end. We've been quite pleased and everybody that sees our house. I'm already noticing big differences, like the heat staying inside of my home and my heating elements not turning on nearly as much. I'm stoked about it. Horrible service. Workers smell like drugs and act under the influence while at our house. Installation and workmanship were the worst we've seen. Customer service is terrible. They've been attempting to deliver less than agreed to. After two attempts to do a simple job they're still not finished - and damaged our house way more than what they're attempting to improve. First attempt to install a new entry and storm door they damaged it during installation and forgot many of the parts needed to complete the job. Second attempt and visit to our house they damaged the new replacement entry door during installation (again) and then went on to damage the newly installed threshold.
The installation of the storm door is terrible - they adjusted the storm door so low that it damaged the rubber sweep - ripped it right off after initial use. The Renewal by Andersen employees were foul-smelling, like they haven't showered in a month, reeked of **, and acted like they're barely awake. Horrible service and experience to date, and we still have to watch them do this a third time. Renewal by Andersen has been trying to install a simple storm door, entry door, exterior Fypon and paint since June 2021 and the installation is still ongoing. Awful experience for the price and brand name - discreditable.

The worse customer service I've encountered in years. Communication from the sales manager, Matthew ** was deplorable. I signed my contract April 28, 2021, that stated we would receive the order in 10 to 12 weeks. We made a change in the color that required a change order on May 3rd. At the end of August we still had not received delivery notification. We had fully anticipated that the work would be completed by the end of the summer. Because of the delay, my husband had to postpone his trip to New York. When I brought this to the attention of s Mr. **, he instructed me to contact him directly. As our patio door was the most popular and standard order Mr. ** said he would try to find one in their warehouse. When none could be found I asked for some sort of refund for the delay. Mr. ** shared he may have no other choice but to offer some sort of compensation for the delay which he blamed on the pandemic.
Please note, I am a Broadway Theater manager and am well aware the numerous problems created by the pandemic. However, the pandemic does not excuse poor communication. With the exception of 1 time, all my calls to Mr. ** resulted in my leaving a voice mail or text message with no return phone call. Had I received even an email or phone call with apology for the delay prior to my reaching out to my sales rep, Nicholas **, I would not be so angry and upset. I was told that additional support staff were being hired to help alleviate the problem, however, the lack of communication and the many times the ball was dropped continued. As an example, because there was no answer to my phone call, below, please find my last text I sent to Mr. **, who NEVER responded to me directly, but forwarded my concern to someone else. The below text was sent on November 2nd, 2021.
"Tomorrow will be 6 months since we put on our order and signed our contract. We are still waiting for the screen door. The one delivered last month was bent and we were told we would get a replacement. We received a call 2 weeks ago saying that screens were being received by your warehouse and we would be notified of an installation date. NOTHING has happened thus far. Please contact me."

If they have to work that hard on selling you then 1) their prices are too high, 2) their quality is not as good as they want you to believe, or 3) their sales people don't want to waste their time if they don't feel they have enough ammunition to throw in your face if you choose another company. The sales rep from Renewal by Andersen was wonderful. I had a huge window installed which was a triple-pane window with a large picture window in the middle and two side wind-out windows. Then, I had an arched window replaced above the windows that they put in the first time, so I had two different experiences. For the first the installation day, the installers were super nice. It was a father-son team and when they came out, they handled everything as super efficiently as possible, especially since my house is on a downhill. So my first floor window were installed from outside and it was a story and a half high. And it's on a slant down away from the house and down from left to right. So I thought there was no way they could put a ladder up there. But they handled it and they knew what they were doing.
For my second experience, the same crew came out and after they looked at what they had to do, they went back out in the truck to get the window. When they unpackaged the window, it was damaged and they could not install it. So they had to order another window. That was a bit of a disappointment and since it was during the pandemic, I waited five weeks. They said they would put a rush on it but it was still five weeks. For the first time, I also had to wait eight weeks. But I still had a window up there, although it was all cloudy from having condensed moisture in it. The cost was also really high but all in all, I was pleased with Renewal by Andersen.

• Design & Function: Pro - Appearance, Smooth cranking system, easy to open/close windows, Appreciate the fine-mesh window screens and ease of inside removal. Con - Inside icing during the winter temperatures (never resolved), Factory window seals not properly installed, Upgraded window seals installed (took two visits), One window glass pane defect, glass replaced, Several crank arms requiring stainless-steel replacements (original arms rusting).
• Customer Service: Pro - In the beginning outstanding, responded to issues seriously. Replaced defective window glass, upgrade outside seals and stainless-steel crank arms quickly. Reimbursed cost for inside wall repairs. Con - Service dramatically decreased after management changed. Communications breakdown between customer and area management. Blamed customer for inside window icing referencing faulty information. Discontinued support on icing issue.
• Conclusion: Renewal By Andersen designed an attractive easy to use casement window system but with ineffective insulation properties. The mailed-out advertisement claims RBA windows can withstand against “artic temperatures” but this is simply faulting advertisement. Problem with ice building up on the inside of the glass even while keeping the inside house temperature set at 68 deg. In the beginning customer service were friendly, cooperative and took all issues seriously.
Unfortunately, when management change that cooperation ceased. Inside icing problem never resolved instead management has pushed the blame onto the customer using incorrect data provided by customer. Will not recommend Renewal By Andersen casement windows in cold climate locations. Renewal By Andersen was not worth the expense and doesn’t live up to its lofty reputation. Maybe another RBA window product will provide better insulation properties against the cold then their casement windows. Very expensive lessons learned and very dissatisfied.
Hi Richard, thanks for your review. I have reached out to the team you've worked with as well as our corporate field operations team to get an update on your service case. In March of last year, our team let you know that based on the temperature and humidity in your home, you will continue to see the potential ice buildup on your windows. If the environment inside your home has changed since we've spoken last, please do let us know. Thanks in advance, Richard.

We had a complaint that we filed ‘cause our window that we paid $3,000 for had a crack in it. Now they have to make a brand new one and that can take three months. Also, trying to get ahold of them would be nice. All those prompts you get to get to someone isn't fun. But everything they did was fine. We have no problem with the people installing it or doing all that stuff. It's just that we're not happy that the windows broke.

I had a positive experience with Renewal By Andersen. I've had them install them twice for different rooms. The first one was the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom. The second time, which is recent, was for the three bedrooms. The installation was good. They were on time. They got them in in a real quick time. They were very cordial. They did what they had said they were going to do. They also worked with me, which helps.

We went to one of their presentations and we liked what we saw. They were fine. They did something on the outside. They said, "We're putting in new stuff there.” I asked about the spacing I could see outside and they told me how they would clear that up. They did certain things and that got closed up.

It took a while to get my new front entry door. It's installed but the door panels are a different color than the rest of the door when it should have all been the same color. They never tried to rectify after I complained about it. Also, I had a leak between the door sweep and the door itself with the big rainstorm we had. The techs are supposed to come out this month. Other than that, I like the door. It's pretty solid.

When they gave me a test, they showed me how the coldness didn't come through the window at all when they used that radar kind of thing. It's 10 degrees outside and the window is warm. I really liked the guy that came out. There was no pressure whatsoever. I told him beforehand that if he would give me an ounce of pressure, he was gone. He was really cool about it and it shocked the heck out of me.
The installation guys were awesome. Even though I told them they didn't have to clean up, they put these mats down and they cleaned up. My wife was home and I told them, "You guys are gonna disrespect my wife if you don't stay and have goulash." All four of them stayed around the dinner table and ate goulash, and they showed a lot of class. I like that. I was very satisfied with Renewal by Andersen. These people are professional and down-to-earth. I like them.

The sales guy handed off really well to the guy who came and did the measurements. Then, it got a little quiet between the measurements. When things were coming, I didn't feel I had one person to link on to. They were not supposed to be delivered until March of 2022 but they called in November and said they would be in. Scheduling was a bit of a challenge. But we finally got it taken care of. They have great products and the installers were phenomenal. They kept the site in good shape.

We had ordered our windows in July 2021. When we had them here to measure and before we ordered anything we kept asking how long would they take to come in and be installed. We were assured 100s of times that they would be installed by October. Put a HUGE deposit down for over 20 windows and 3 new doors! A couple of months went by, and they call to tell us we need to come up with $6000 to have extra scaffolding for the install! We told them that they were here 2 times prior and nothing was ever brought up about the extra cost. They sent us a change order to sign to agree to pay for it. We denied the charge and they were not happy about it.
Well October came and went. No communication when our windows would be installed or even anything to give us an idea. We live in a cold climate and we’re worried they would try to install during snow and cold weather. Would call our sales representative and get no call back. Finally after I made a comment on a Facebook post giving my story, someone finally called me told me “they have no idea when they will be ready, but it’s going to be a long, long time”. They have our money and have done nothing to make this right and use supply issues as an excuse! They didn’t say anything about supply issues when we were ordering! Might need to take legal action to sort this out! Ridiculous!
Karen, thanks for taking a minute to let us know about your experience - very sorry to hear that it has been a negative one. We'll be sharing your feedback with the team right away, especially when it comes to communication improvements. Like so many other businesses and industries, we've been dealing with supply chain constraints since last year. Please know that our team is working very hard to overcome these challenges so that we can provide the best possible experience for homeowners.

Our experience was excellent. Their customer service is unparalleled. I've never experienced anything like it. The workers, after they installed our windows, picked up trash in our yard that wasn't even their doing and put it on the dump truck and cleaned up. They were so nice. The whole process from beginning to end was like no other I've ever been through. They're the only company right now that I could say with assurance is offering customer service. Everyone else is struggling to survive and we're having to put up as a consumer with so many excuses. I understand when companies are struggling, but they don't seem to struggle at all because they take care of their employees. They're a pleasure to work with and they really deliver customer service in the true sense of the word. Renewal By Andersen is really a gem.

I like my back patio door. My house is old, and it's definitely an upgrade. Also, the team was extremely professional. The issue that I had was more supply and demand, but given everything that's happening globally, it's not surprising. I would highly recommend Renewal by Andersen. It's a bit pricey though. I wanted to do more windows, but there was no benefit for me financially to do that because I didn't get a better price for doing more. Usually, when you're doing a big project, being able to bundle things is part of the benefit.

The windows are costly but all new windows are costly from what I find, especially in North Idaho right now. It is a huge investment because it cost 25,000 to do 10 windows, and two of those were big picture windows. But the windows are beautiful. They look really nice. If I was a person doing windows and looking online again, I'd make sure that everyone understands that you have to hire a painter to paint the wood frames that go around it. The white part that goes around the frame are done. You don't ever have to paint them. But you would have to hire a painter for the white trim. The installation guys were neat. They did really good. I did put a phone call in and asked how to get some glue off my window and the lady said she would emal them and have them get back to me. But I still have not heard back.
The sales rep that came over was very, very, very nice. Everyone I dealt with was nice. We've also had plumbers, bath fitters, and electricians in our house recently. Out of all of them, the Renewal by Andersen and the painters were the kindest and most professional guys you could have. They treated our house like their own house. They didn't swear, and they were conscious that we're in our 60s. Since getting the windows, there's a huge difference in the house. We don't have to have our heat turned up. I would hire Renewal by Andersen again.

I had this company out to quote on a new sliding glass door. The sales person was professional and had samples and answered most questions I had, but this company is clearly looking to relieve you of every dollar they can. After spending way too much time on irrelevant details he finally got to a price for the door, over $13,000 for a sliding glass door. Essentially the same standard door I have currently but with their "superior" materials. When I thanked the guy and said we'll think about it he relentlessly badgered me about signing up with them that same day for added savings.. When I persisted I must review with my wife he starts aggressively slashing the price. Magically, he worked it down to $7,000 and a special financing package...
This should not happen. A salesman should accept the client's wishes and desire to review their BEST price upfront, not soak you with an outrageous price and only lower it when the client refuses to accept it initially. This is clearly the company strategy as the guy had every response and lower/better price ready and waiting. What a sham. Never again. Warning to you reading.

One guy looked at all of our windows and showed us the different styles that Renewal by Andersen had and some of the thermal advantages of it. We originally were looking at Pella. But that night, we decided not even to take the time to look at Pella. We had Marvin Windows in the house before. They had to work around us because I have cancer. It was also at that time when COVID was bad. We set the schedule, and then we called and asked if we could delay a while because we didn't want folks in and out of the house at that time. They met our requirements and came when we rescheduled.
We have an all-brick Georgian-style house and cut stone along the exterior windows. Our windows before were exactly what we wanted other than that they were 30 years old. Because they weren't clad before, they had rotted in a couple of places. So, we replaced all the windows at once. When they were done, it looked like it did when the house was originally built. You can't even tell that they did the windows, which is what we want.

Initially, solicitous. A window wasn’t accurately measured. Delayed the job completion by 2 months. When correctly measured window supposed to be ready, they scheduled to come install. But, didn’t double check w/ factory. It wasn’t ready & a day of PTO wasted. Second scheduled appt for final install, and they didn’t show up. Called them, and was told I was wrong because I didn’t wait 30 min for installers (who were late). Had to get to work. Third time, after complaining to supervisors about attitude I got, and insisting they accommodate my schedule - they did. The complete installation took 4 months. Now the upper windows will slide down, and I can’t fasten the window closed. You need one person to hold the upper window in place while a second person slides the lower one in place and fastens the window. Seriously? Closing a window takes two people? With Andersen’s windows it does.
Hi Lisa, I just spoke with our team in Salt Lake. We ordered our windows & patio doors from Renewal by Andersen in August 2021 and by the contract they were going to install them by second week of December (13 weeks) but week before someone called and said “we didn’t have your orders in the truck” which was really unprofessional and dumb excuse and then she tried to explain about shortages and which was understandable if they called us 1-2 months before.
I called the Salesperson who made the contract and he told us he will email the regional manager find out what's going on but it's been 4 weeks & he or nobody didn’t call us back and he doesn’t answer his phones. I called concierge on Jan 5th 2022 and asked them “what's going on” but still they are expecting some parts and nobody know when they will receive them. I told them l really need to speak regional manager or one of the corporate managers but it's been more than a week still nothing.
Per our contract, job should be done in 13 weeks and due the weather conditions it might delay but they pass their due date 4 weeks and still nobody call us and tell us anything. Their products might be good but Zero customer service and nobody gives any information about orders because nobody knows anything. We also need to change our floors but since patio doors not installed yet we couldn’t install the floors. There is no words to explain our amount of stress. We are considering to get a lawyer and cancel entire project with them.

Their rep was very productive, answered our questions, was very open and gave us up-to-date information. It was cold during the installation but the techs worked quietly and they weren't back and forth. We purchased a sliding door and it exceeded our expectations. It's self-protective and it keeps the cold out. The cost is reasonable and the fact that they have a payment plan that helps is also a good thing.

Very disappointed in our Renewal by Andersen experience. Their installation was messy and unprofessional. Right off the bat, the windows did not latch properly. The first service call reported the windows were not aligned, however when they sent a 'more knowledgeable' repairman for the second service call, he said they were fine. Perhaps this foreshadowed the issues I now have this winter. Extreme frost buildup on all my second-story double-hung windows. 6/8 windows installed have frost buildup between the window and the screen. The third service call attempted to caulk and seal the windows. This did not fix the problem. The fourth service call resulted in them telling me this issue was due to the high efficiency of the windows. The frost build-up was normal.
Work orders and 'bulletins' from corporate to the repairmen are apparently 'confidential'. I am not allowed to have any paperwork documenting the work they did on the product I paid an insane amount of money for. So after trying to fix the issue, they now say it is normal, even though second, third, and fourth opinions tell me otherwise. So now I have windows, less efficient than the original ones I replaced. The company has washed their hands of me.

I had to replace a door and two windows. The door was custom sized and it was in the basement. I needed some good windows that’s leak-proof because the basement gets cold. It was a very positive experience with the reps. They were upfront with the pricing and why they were more expensive compared to others. They gave me samples of their windows and the technology that goes behind it as well as options for a payment plan. The installation went very smoothly. The reps were well-prepared and came with the right tools. There was a problem with the door but they didn't hide the fact. They told me that there was a dent in the door, which came from the manufacturer, and they would take care of it. They reordered the piece and once it was ready, they would come back and fix it.
Renewal by Andersen has a service where they dedicate people to your account and if you have any questions, you can call them up. So, I like that at any point of time, they are available. It is also a lifetime warranty so if anything goes wrong, I can always call back. If the tubing is leaking again, they said they could take care of it. So, it's great.

I had 65-year-old original Renewal by Andersen windows. My project manager said, "I think these are the last ones that exist." So, I kept the same style, same dimensions, and had new windows put in. I loved the salesman the first time and I wanted my same project manager Henry. I've been back to them all the time. Never in my life have I ever seen a crew like Latimer's work. No one talks or takes a smoking break. No one's dilly-dallying. Each one of them knows their job on the project and they just work.
I wish Andersen cost a little less but when I considered the measurements and that I have really big windows that need a special glass such that if you fall into them, they don't break apart, so they're safety. In all, I've had 16 windows replaced over three sessions. They're huge and I love the framing. It's an amazing experience. If you're gonna spend money and you want a good quality product that has a reputation with good online reviews, this is the way to go.
