RainSoft's rep was very informative and knowledgeable of the product. The installers were great as well. They said to make sure that the barrel doesn't run too low with the salt, and they would contact us shortly before every year so they could come and schedule the yearly maintenance. It feels a lot cleaner when I shower. The first shower I took felt so slick and smooth that I kept on, "Why is this shampoo not coming off of me? What's going on?"

We're not really happy with the water system right now because we're still having slimy water. It feels like when you get out of the shower, you're not clean because you feel like there's a coating on you or something like that. We're not really happy. Their rep said that it's something to do with the oil on your skin, but I don't think that's true.
It is true that softened water feels slippery. When people make a switch to softened water, they sometimes comment that it has a different feeling, describing it as silky or slippery feeling water. That's because the mineral buildup in hard water can make it difficult to create a sudsy lather. With softened water you are no longer feeling the hardness minerals, leaving your hair and skin better hydrated and less irritated. We always recommend using less soap, shampoo, laundry detergents and cleaning products with soft water.

RainSoft set up a visit appointment and the salesman was very skilled. He knew his subject and he was very knowledgeable. He did on-site testing and the big thing was chlorine. Ours is the city water and we're very near the water treatment plant. I didn't realize the water treatment plants have such high doses of the chemical chlorine and we were drinking such high chlorine from the city water treatment plant. They set a date and time for the installation and the person came on that date and time. The person even called that morning just to confirm. He didn’t wanna drive out and find out that we were not home. He was a plumber so he knew his subject and was trained on installing their product line. He did a pretty good job and he asked different options - where we want it and this is that.
Since having the system installed, when I take a shower, it's not slimy and the water tastes better. I stopped buying bottled water and I cut back on all my other liquids. They got a good product and it's also US-made. I like buying US-made products versus foreign products. Also, if I have a problem, I call and they come out and fix it.

So far, the RainSoft system functions well. I just don't know how to check when I have to fill the salt. I need to figure it out. But I have noticed a lot of difference in our water. Now, it doesn't smell bad. It's also clear. Now, it's soft water too.

The lady I spoke with was very friendly. The installation was fantastic. The two gentlemen were very friendly. I had some damaged insulation foam around some of my pipes and one of the plumbers replaced it without even asking me. I thought that was nice for them to reach out and do that. The new system is fantastic. I can definitely tell a difference in my water. According to the test, it was really hard water. I had to clean out my sinks and my shower heads, at least, once a month. Ever since then, I have not had to do that at all. Usually, I could see buildup in the shower and from the spray coming out. And I haven't had any of that. I had a good experience so far with RainSoft.

When the guy installed our Rainsoft, he did not show me or do anything. I don't have the app with the system. I don't know how to put the salt. Nobody explained to me anything about how to operate it. But since having the system, we noticed that the water is soft and doesn't have any smell. Our skin is more hydrated than before. I'd recommend it.

The consultation with RainSoft Water Treatment Systems was very simple, easy to schedule, and quick. Also, the installers were professional. They arrived on time, explained everything to me, told me who to contact if I had any problems, and cleaned up afterward. So, they were thorough. We love our system. The water is so clean. We have crystal clear ice cubes. Our skin feels better, and our laundry smells better.

The rep was very knowledgeable and explained everything. Our water was coming out brown and he showed us what was in the water and the counts, and we got everything hooked up. We got the whole house filtration system and a reverse osmosis system for the sink. We got a CleanStart system as well for the washer and dryer and we like it because we don't like to use chemicals and laundry detergent. If we don't have that going into our septic system, we feel better about it.
Two guys from RainSoft initially came out and then, they realized that they weren't gonna be able to do what they needed to that day because of the way the piping was underneath our trailer. So they ended up coming back out. They came out on a Friday and then came back the following Monday. They rocked everything out and got everything taken care of for us. They told us we'd have to fill up the salt on the system every few months or so as it got low. We have to manually check. We didn't get the system that told us when we had to change it. Since having the system installed, the water comes out clear now and doesn't smell like iron. It's a lot better than it was.

The Rainsoft sales rep was good. He educated us on the water samples and showed us what our water really is and removed my ignorance. The installation of our Rainsoft went smoothly. They ran into some challenges, but they overcame those challenges. They had dug up the yard a little bit and then covered everything back up. Everything went well. The system is great. The best one I ever had. I'm drinking the tap water now and our skin feels great. We noticed prior to the installation, that at least twice a week, we would get bumps on our skin. And we just noticed how our skin has been clear the last month and a half. The thing that really worked best for me was to see the water sample or the water test. Because you could taste the metals in the water. It was like, "Okay. It's not really that bad." But then you see the test, they were like, "It's worse than you think."

I managed to get the whole system from RainSoft and since the installation, the difference in the water quality in the kitchen was instant. I like the cleaning product samples that they gave. As far as maintenance, it entails keeping it warm and putting salt in it.

The water test convinced me I needed RainSoft. It was a very nice experiment and it was very visual. The rep was there for two hours and a half. We were having casual a conversation during the free water test. I got the biggest water unit and the osmosis system under the sink as well as the washing machine system. The installer was wonderful and was fully prepared. He was accepting of my barking dog and my cat that would not leave him alone. He explained the system very well and told me about the regular maintenance I would need to do. He made sure to let me know that if I was looking for something, where to find it in my pamphlet or my manuals. I've had the RainSoft system for three to four months now and I've noticed drastic changes. It's so lovely. My skin feels smoother and it's not as dry. I use less soap in dishwashing, bathing, and showering.

The representative was very informative. He showed us everything and made sure we understood. We can call them for anything but the system can tell me if the salt needs to be refilled. There's an app that I was hooked up with. We can also take a look into the tank itself. Having the Rainsoft system installed, our skin and hair feel better. I don't see any water spots on any of my dishes any longer. Their products are great too. They provided me some samples of house cleaners, laundry detergents, and hair products. They gave us a credit, too, to order more concentrated stuff if we wanted to. I started to explore the website a little bit. Maybe I didn't search the right way, but it was a little confusing for me. Things are a little scattered. I wish the products were categorized together.

I've had a whole house system from RainSoft for over 20 years. It needs salt, and I add it myself. If I fill it right up, it lasts for six months. I use bags of salt that I get from hardware store. At one time, they had 25-pound blocks of salt, and I like that better. It's much easier to handle. The system also needs to be tuned up once in a while, so techs come every one to two years. I normally wait for a phone call, till someone reminds me it needs to be done. They put a brand new system in when they were here last time because the old one was getting weak and tired. Overall, RainSoft is a good system.

RainSoft reached out to me. They said, "Hi, how you doing? If you'd be willing to have us come out and talk to you about our product, we'd be willing to give you a free-of-charge gift card for Home Depot." I thought nothing of it. I said, "Yeah. Why not get a free gift card?" I didn't realize it turned into a two-and-a-half-hour presentation, but that would be the one negative about their service. They lead you to believe that this could be a 20-minute to a half-hour thing. It turns into an almost three-hour presentation. As far as why I decided to go with them, during their presentation, they convinced me and my girlfriend that their product does work.
There were numerous different examples. All 10 of them looked like they made a lot of sense. The tasting of the water versus my tap and their filtered water and all the other different things that they did other than taste made a lot of sense. The installation was fine. The guy who did the presentation was here on a Wednesday. They came to do the install two days later. Then, on Monday, after the weekend, a third person came in to go over what they installed, talked about the different things on the side of the house, and then she also did a retest. She asked me what I wanted to see, but I wasn't gonna ask for all 10 that was part of the presentation. I just asked for around four of the more important ones and the tasting. It seemed like it works.

There was a whole offer of a gift card at Home Depot for water testing. A RainSoft water tester came out and he was very personable. I bought the whole kit. The installation was very smooth and everybody was very nice and professional. They cleaned up and sealed up everything they were supposed to. I've enjoyed my experience with RainSoft, thus far. We have very hard water and it no longer has that chlorinated smell. It feels cleaner and it tastes better. My wife's hair is much more manageable according to her. She enjoys not having to use as much soap in the laundry now. My air seems cleaner because we got the whole kit in caboodle. I'm very pleased with the product and the RainSoft staff.

I had the filter and softener put in, and RainSoft did a nice job. But there were some communication issues with a language barrier when we were getting the equipment installed. I have a unique situation with this house and with the well. I wasn't really able to communicate with the guy that was here and I had to have it done correctly or it could cause some real problems. So I talked to the company and they took care of it. The installation was done pretty quickly and since then, things clean quicker. The water is soft, it feels nice, and we use less soap. Also, RainSoft's customer service was good and the guy who came out and did this stuff was wonderful. It was a fair price, too.

We also have skin issues such as eczema and dry skin. I like that the water is better with the system. It helps the hair and skin. I use less lotion now. Rainsoft was also very quick with the installation and I appreciated that. The system is expensive but it was worth it.

He came in and did a bunch of different demonstrations and tests, showed us all the different filters and everything he had, and sat us down. That went great. We really liked it so we got the water conditioner.
The installation team was even better. They came out and were able to do things really quickly. They even were able to bury it a little bit 'cause it blocked one of our windows. We also had a little problem with them thinking that we didn't have power. But another guy came out and fixed it right away. It was really easy and simple. The system was expensive but we were ready for it. The quality is awesome. My wife loves it. The water makes a big difference, definitely noticeable. We're super happy with RainSoft.

I picked up a free water test at Home Depot and RainSoft called me with the results. They confirmed that I had hard water. The rep was very nice. He did his job in testing the water and telling me what the results were, and didn't push me to buy the system. The installation took a couple of hours. They did a neat job. They cleaned up everything afterwards, explained the system to me. It's a little on the expensive side, but I recommend it. I had a terrible problem with itching and it has helped with that a lot. And the water tastes better.

The sales rep of RainSoft was very knowledgeable and thorough when he presented the product. There was a lot of clarity. I knew what I was getting. I appreciate the fact that they were able to come out and get it done quickly. And it was a nice perk to be able to test out the new products with the new water system that they told me about.
The installation was good. We had a couple of issues, though. The water pressure in the kitchen decreased as they installed it. But it's fine everywhere else. They weren't able to resolve that particular issue, but they checked to make sure that the pressure was where it was supposed to be and it was. The water pressure in the rest of the house is fine. For some reason, it's just the kitchen. I'm not really sure if it's a plumbing issue or if I need a new faucet.

They did some demonstration to show me that the water that I'm using is not as clean as I thought it was. They showed me that the filter would make the water clearer than even the bottled water. Since having the system, the water tastes better. It's more soapy when I'm washing my clothes. So, I'm using less water. The clothes are more clean too. They told me that I have to change a filter in the system every year, another one every two years, and then the salt. Someone was supposed to come here to install something on my phone for it to be connected but no one ever showed up to do that. But I'm satisfied with RainSoft. It's been a good experience, so far.

We got the system that has the drinking filter and it water softener. The whole visit was three hours. There are other systems that are good and cost less. But RainSoft installed the system fast. They said that I need to put more salt once a year. But I have it on the app so it would show me. They also said if there was something on the app that came up that I needed to take care of, I just have to call them. The water works on my skin. At the beginning, the water is a lot of salty. But it started becoming more normal. And the flavor is different because it doesn't have all the chlorine. So, it's good.

We purchased a fridge with Home Depot, and the company offered us someone to come in and test out our waters. The guy did, and showed us the difference between regular tap water and RainSoft water. Everything works perfectly fine. I had to just add the salt that they sell at Home Depot every three to six months. The water is fresher and cleaner. I could notice it in our food, clothing, laundry, and sinks. The water is more than what we could ask for. Clean water is the best water we could ever have. It's legit.

The Florida Department of Energy was the one who offered to have somebody come out to do the pitch for RainSoft. And they gave a $50 Home Depot gift card. The presentation hit things that were most important to me. In Florida, the water is notoriously foul-smelling. We're technically safe to drink it, but we don't want to because it tastes like sewage water. The shower is also foul-smelling. It burned my eyes. RainSoft also let me know because it does the filtration system, there would be less sediment buildup so we would have less plumbing problems.
Mine is the standard reverse osmosis. It has worked very well. The water does not smell. No skin irritation around my eyes, which was huge. And my skin looks better. RainSoft said it usually has more of a silky texture as well. It could remove all the soap so there's not a bunch of stuff left over. Considering that everything else worked exactly as RainSoft said, I assume I would be good with the piping issue as well. It allows clothes to not smell as bad and you would not smell as bad getting out of the shower. And hopefully, it would save you some money in the long run without having plumbing issues.

And the more stuff he showed, the more I was interested. My wife is a no-nonsense person. She was interested right away but she was more and more convinced as it went along as well. Installation was seamless. Very clean job outside and they cleaned up after themselves. Everything looks fine. The water tastes better and there’s no smell since the system has been installed. It's definitely noticeably different. You wash your hands and the soap suds up a lot. RainSoft’s system is a very good product. We enjoy it and it’s very nice to know your water is safe. City water is terrible as it burns my skin and there's a high chlorine level. I was having issues with my skin. A sales representative called and we set the time for an appointment. He was a very polite, knowledgeable, and friendly young man. I got the water softener that strips out all the chlorine and makes the water more tolerable. An installer came and was very nice, but he left a hole in my wall and was supposed to come back and fix it. It took about two and a half weeks before he finally came back and I had to call and hunt him down to get him to come fix the hole in my wall. That was very frustrating.
They knowingly are installing these systems with defective boards on them. You're supposed to be able to connect to your Wi-Fi and download an app so that you can monitor your system. That is one of the reasons it cost nearly $10,000. They say they don't know which ones boards are defective so they're just putting them on there.
I happened to get a defective one and it doesn't work. I called and called and finally got somebody to talk to and it was supposedly the manager. He was quite condescending and he said, "Well, they're on backorder because of COVID." I asked why they were putting them in. He said, "Well, we don't know if they're defective until we find out they are." He said he didn't see what the big deal was as I was not being charged for it. And I said, "Yes, sir, everything is in with the cost. There's nothing free. And the reason I spent nearly $10,000 on the system was because one of the things was I could monitor the system and do all that. That was one of those things." He said, "Well, you know, it's not real hard to walk out there and look at it."
If I didn't have a system and if I didn't have a contract, I might get screwed and be out of money. I would have told him to come take it out of my house. I still have not fixed the board. They contacted me saying they wanted to come by and check how my system is working. I said, "You got a new board? Because I still have a defective board. So, you don't need to come check it until it's correct." They said, "Oh, no, we still don't have any new boards yet. When we get one, we'll come and put one in." I've had this since July.
Based on that, I would not recommend the company to anybody. I was very dissatisfied with the manager and the company knowingly putting in defective boards and having people sign contracts for new equipment knowing they were defective and then they're not fixing them. That aside, the people that I've talked to other than that manager were very nice. Also, there was been an improvement in our water. It doesn't burn my skin nearly as much and the chlorine smell's gone.

The guy who came out and did the water test was really informative about how the RainSoft system affects the water, clothes, and all aspects of the house. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, directed us where we needed to go, and fitted us with what we needed. Also, he didn't try to sell us any extras. He mentioned about the benefits of having the equipment on the sink, but we decided to pass on that one. The next day after his visit, the installers came out and installed our system.
Since then, the stains are gone in the toilets. The ones in the sink, we have to scrub those out, but we don't have any further buildup. My wife could really feel the difference in the bath water in the way she felt in her skin after taking a bath or shower. Then, you use a lot less chemicals like dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, and bath soap. So, it all adds up. The system is pricey, but not out of reach and you get it all back over time if you're patient. Aside from that, the application process for the financing was pretty easy. It's automated on the actual system itself. It has little bars that would tell me when I need to refill the salt and I would get a text when the filters need to be replaced, which is once a year, and another one is every three years. My mom got with RainSoft, and they went out to her house. She told me about that, then I had them come out to our house to do their tests. They showed us our water, and they put different chemicals in to show the chloride content. We got the water softener and there's a reverse osmosis with it. One of the main things different is the taste in our drinking water. Our clothes seem to get a little cleaner and they smell a little fresher too. Also, my skin hasn't felt as dry after showering, and I haven't had to use as much lotion. My daughter has a bit of eczema, and for the past couple of months we've had RainSoft, it seems to be clearing up a little. I don't know if I can give all credit to that, but I will give a lot.
If people ask me what I think about RainSoft, my first thing is, "Just let them come out." Our experience has been very easy, pleasant and friendly, and they have not been pushy. When I was telling my wife about RainSoft, she said, "Well, I don't want them to come in and make us feel bad or force us or anything." It hasn't been anything like that. It has been a good experience. So far, we haven't been too long into it, but the process of everything has gone smooth. The price looks big up front, but it breaks down to monthly payments, which aren't too bad. RainSoft has helped us with our health and other different things as well.

RainSoft has been wonderful. In one prior residence, I had sulfur water and they put a filter system in to take care of that. Then we built a new house about three years ago and this year, we've come up with heavy iron in our water. So they came out and put a system in to take care of that. I bought it one day and they installed it the next. It treats the entire home and for maintenance, we just put about a bag a month of salt in it. You just open the lid on it, look in it, and see how much is in it. It's got marks on the side, so you will see your level of the salt. The system has made a big difference. Our water tastes just like clean spring water and our sinks and toilets are not stained with the common iron rust-looking cover they get.

The water that we have is not good and I have a child that's on a feeding tube. The consultation we had with RainSoft was awesome. I liked the guy that came out to tell us about the system. The installation was fine and I like the system. We notice our bodies feel softer and our clothes smell better. I am gonna give RainSoft a call today because I had to add salt yesterday at 5 o'clock. I've only had the system for a month and I wasn't supposed to add salt for six to nine months. That aside, I've mentioned RainSoft to friends and I've asked them if I can use them for a referral. One of them is just waiting for his wife to get back home so he can call and have the guy come out.

We love RainSoft. The salesman was great. We were happy with how we could finance the system for two years which was awesome. So we're paying $100 a month. Plus, we got really nice products with the system for our dishwasher as well as hand soap and dish detergent. The installation was quick and easy. They called us a couple of weeks later to have somebody test the water again which was really nice. The first time, we weren't available but they were persistent and they called us again.
We've been pleased with the system. It's convenient and we like the taste of the water. I also put the water in my plants and they seem to be living longer. We also don't give our dog spigot water anymore. We also see a difference in our skin. I've had people tell me, "What are you doing? Did you get Botox injections?" I said, "No, I'm just drinking pure water now and not chemicals." I'm trying to get some of my friends to use RainSoft. I highly recommend it. They have excellent service and an excellent product.

The guy came out and did the testing. We liked him. He was knowledgeable, friendly and connected with us. We got the water softener system and the laundry water thing and the installer was great. He showed up on time and got it all installed in a couple of hours. For some of the little things he needed to do, he checked in with us first. He made sure we were okay with everything and went over how it all worked. So that went well.
When you're washing your hands, you could feel when it's soft water. And where I used to live, you had to have water softeners because the groundwater was so hard. So, I knew we needed the RainSoft system. We ran out of salt recently and then I refilled it, and it took a couple of days for it to kick back in. This morning, I just started feeling it again. The salt ran out because I was told by the sales guy that he was gonna call a month out to schedule another test. But two months went by and I didn’t get a call and didn't even think about it. The alarm was off for the low salt and when I finally checked and it was just about out, I went in and I set the alarm. So next time, it'll warn me. We got the drinking water filter too.

I was strolling through Home Depot one day and a young lady came by. She started asking about the water treatment system and I said that I didn't have anything at the moment. She said, "Well, can we come by and test your water and show you all the nasty things that are in it?" I agreed. The town we moved up here from had some of the best acidic water around. After seeing what was in the water, I accepted the offer to put in the RainSoft system.
The installer was a genius. He put the system in a spot better than I had picked for it. It was late in the day. On this side of Florida, we get some pretty good squalls in the evening. Just about sundown, one rolled in. I was thinking, "Well, he's gonna go away and finish it tomorrow." But he insisted he stayed and he put a spotlight on his forehead. I held an umbrella over him and he got the job done.
Our water was a little on the hard side. But there have been changes since RainSoft came in. I have two cars and I enjoy the little one on the driveway and washing it myself. It used to be that after I rinsed it off, if I didn't get shammy on the glass right away and get rid of the water spots, there would be mineral deposits on the glass. The first time I washed the little car with the RainSoft water, the phone rang and I was distracted. I got back to the car and said, "Oh, no. I'm gonna have to really hit the windshield hard." But there wasn't a single spot on it.
Our cleaning lady came in and said, "Have you been scrubbing the shower door?" I said, "No. You did it the last time you were here." She said, "Well, yeah. Usually, you have some buildup on the shower door that I have to hit pretty hard to get off. It's not there now." The new water took off the old stains since the last time she was here. It's been a wonderful experience.

Dealing with the sales rep was unnecessary because we knew we had hard water and we knew we wanted a water softener. So, it seemed like that added more to the process. I get it. It’s probably a little add-on to help sell the water filter, the drinking, and the washing machine thing. We probably could have gone with the water filter but we wouldn't have done the washing machine thing. I wasn’t impressed with it at all and I'm wishing we didn't get that. We had the filtered water run to the fridge. That way, it gets our ice too. And we have a refrigerator that has the water and ice in the door. So, we lost a little water pressure coming out of that, which we can live with. It isn't cool but we're getting a better quality of water. I like the soft water. It feels better whenever we're cleaning stuff and my hands don't seem to be drying out as much. The filtered water is great. It tastes way better than what we had.
I still haven't been able to hook the EC5 up to my internet so I can get the alerts and all on my phone. But that's part of user error on my behalf. The head unit for the water-softening device, the EC5, should be able to hook up to our network. But our network can either do 2G or 5G. The EC5 won't do 5G. So, if I have my phone set to 5G, it won't hook up through my phone. And when I finally realized that I need to put my phone on the 2G side, I already got tired of dealing with it and I figured I would deal with it another day. At some point in time today, I'm going to make sure that my phone is on the 2G side. And I'm gonna go out there and I'm gonna try it again. The price versus expectations wasn't there but everything is well and overall, we are satisfied with RainSoft.

When the system was installed, only one man came out and I felt sorry for him. He was taking out my old water heater and he thought he could get it up the stairs. But he only got halfway up, then he ended up just sitting there with the water tank for about 30 minutes for his counterpart to come help to take the rest of the stairs. First home buyer and I sadly started off with agreeing to a $10,000 loan pretty much through RainSoft to buy a water softener. First off, original tech came out and did a hack job of installation. So I answered a rain soft call for basically spot checking how everything is going. Rain soft sent their best tech and he was honestly only reason I stayed with the product cause if not, I would’ve bypassed it and leave it in my garage to rot. But I can’t tell if it works or not honestly, but besides the product and the fact after I give the company $10000 dollars I still have to pay for services or he'll pay for the routine maintenance they have to come out and do? Cool, I’ll pay the monthly amount needed so I don’t have a default on my credit report.
But I advise everyone who does those at home test, DO NOT BUY IT OR LISTEN TO THEIR CRAP. You can install one yourself and maintain it yourself for significantly cheaper. Talking thousands of dollars cheaper. And the best part, no Legal binding paying contract. When I sell this house, I’m leaving the softener with it and paying out the contract with the use the equity I make off the home. Your product works, that’s it. Now after reading through all these reviews, I hope people listen and steer clear of Rainsoft and their financial burdens they place on families. If I could get out of it, I would.
We reached out to the selling dealership in Jacksonville, Florida and received the following history regarding this install and equipment:
The customer was originally installed on March 6, 2021. He first complained about his yard being flooded on March 14, 2021, and blamed our drain installation. We attempted to go to the customers home to evaluate and repair any issues we found. However, due to heavy rains we were experiencing in Jacksonville, we had to cancel the service call and asked the customer to call us when the yard was dry. On March 30, 2021, we went to the customers home and found the yard still too wet to make any repairs. On April, 26, 2021, we repaired the yard, added dirt to relevel the area. At that time the customer was satisfied with the repair.
One year later the customer called on March 14, 2022, stating the grass on the side of his house was dead. The same issue we had the year before was occurring, heavy rains and his side yard was totally flooded, delayed our service call until March 16, 2022. At that time we removed the rain line from the side yard that had poor drainage and ran a new drain line to his sewer, using a air gap to properly complete this job and satisfy the customer.
We have not had any further complaints from this customer.
On March 17, 2023, we called the customer to set up a annual service call and filter change for his HydreFiner II. He asked us to call back in 30 days. Based on our records we have not had any further contact with the customer.
At this time it appears the dealership is unaware of any issues the customer is experiencing with their RainSoft equipment. We ask that they please contact their dealer to schedule an appointment so that any issues can be addressed.

Everything was great from the initial consultation, the demo, to the quote and the communication and the installation. I had to contact RainSoft Water Treatment Systems for post-sale support for a quick question about something to walk me through it, and they were great as well. We went with the full system in the house. We went with the reverse osmosis system, which was the whole driving factor due to the previous arguments that are presented or, issues with the Chemours and the DuPont lawsuits for the water supply. We also decided to go with the whole house carbon filtration system. We went with their water softener as well.
The gentleman that's a RainSoft dealer in the area has been doing this for a while from the discussions we had and the information I read. He has his go-to guy, Mike, who I spoke with, and he was the primary person on the installation along with two other gentlemen. One of them was a trainee and the other two had been doing this for a while and they did an excellent job. Great customer service.
You can read the manual, but there's no substitute for having the installer there. You don't get any substitute for the installer being in your house like, "What are you doing? Why are you doing this? Will it take care of this? What should I look out for? Best practices." He was very courteous and answered all my million questions. He said he hooked up the reverse osmosis system to our refrigerator. And we have another refrigerator in a mud room area and the waterline wasn't hooked up for that one and he hooked it up and took care of that as well. He went above and beyond to do that for my family, which was nice.
The reason we got the water softener and the carbon filtration system is they take all the VOCs out of water and we take showers, and my kids take baths. So, not only the drinking water is great, but we've eliminated a lot of the toxic pollutants out of the water supply that comes to the house. Everything has been great. I hope it continues that way. It has been a very positive experience and we've been happy with the product. It came with a lifetime warranty. And if we ever moved, we could take the system with us.

Overall, everything was perfect and the system runs nice, and they couldn't have been better. This product right now is even better than it was before. If you move, you can take it with you.

I purchased the complete RainSoft system. It's worth getting. It came with the water filter which gives us cleaner drinking water. All of the water could be drank but this one is cleaner. The water is softer. When I take my shower, I don't come out as dry as I was before. The installation was a little rocky at first due to my end not being able to access the side of my home. But after that, everything went smoothly. They got someone over to help with the installation due to the fact that they had to run the water connection through a different way. They gave an app which is supposed to alert me to let me know when the salt is low. However, they gave me all of this soap but didn't give me containers to put it in, to mix it. I'm having a hard time with that.

Rainsoft tested our water, and it was horrible. The guy showed us how the filter worked and told us to wash our hand with just one hand, and we could feel the difference in our hand. They came out on a Friday and the system was installed in our laundry room on a Monday. It filters throughout the whole house, and we feel a difference in the shower, when washing our hands, and even when rinsing our mouth after brushing our teeth. Our old water had a bit of a taste and we did not drink it before. We just gave it to our dog. Now, it doesn't have a taste to it.
It's the best water I've ever had. Also, our icemaker was not working in our refrigerator. The water that we had plugged it up and we thought we'd have to tear it apart and defrost it. Within about three days, the icemaker started working again. It cleaned itself up. They say, for a refrigerator, you don't ever have to put the filter back in your refrigerator because with the Rainsoft filter, it'll filter the water itself. If people have ever priced out one of the filters for any of their refrigerators, they're expensive. We have a Samsung, and we've never replaced it.

We've been having issues with our plumbing from the hard water deposits. I knew that that was the problem. And when RainSoft's sales person came out and talked to us about it, it became even more apparent that that was the problem. I liked him a lot. He was awesome. The amount of hard water deposits is night and day. We got a filter for the tank. There was an air bubble in there and it stuck around. So, we had to have a tech come out and bleed that or do whatever he did. And it immediately got fixed. That was also a dramatic difference because the water was slow coming out and it was cloudy. And as soon as they did whatever they did to fix that, that went away.

I had to get a whole new unit because the carbon tank was breaking down and it was plugging up my plumbing. I had to end up paying $500 for a plumber to come out and fix my pipes. The shower and the toilets weren't working. We had no idea why but the plumber was smart enough to identify that there was a residue. Whatever the carbon was that was breaking down was starting to come into the house and plug up the pipes, which could have been a disaster. He was the one who turned off the water softener and said, "Don't use this. You gotta have them come out and you're gonna have to get a new one.
I called Rainsoft and a guy came out. He was very knowledgeable. He suggested for us to get a separate tank so that was what we did. He said it's probably only gonna last three to five years. He suggested that we go into a program for 20 bucks a month where if anything goes wrong, they'll come out and service it. If it starts to break down, they'll replace it. At the time, I had to cough up $2,500 for a brand new system so I told him I'd have to consider doing the program another time.
I've had to have the plumber come out again because we had more problems with the pipes. That was another $300. But hopefully, now it's fixed and we won't have to have the plumber come out anymore. I'm happy with the system because I'm happy with the water. If I had to do over again, I would purchase it again. It's gonna preserve the plumbing in the house a lot longer than if we didn't have the system, just as long as the system is functioning at its proper level and it's not breaking down.
When Rainsoft sold me the system five years ago, they never told me that there's a possibility of it breaking down. I had the maintenance come out every year and check it. Nobody ever mentioned anything about that, until all of a sudden, I had a plumbing problem. Something that would be helpful is when they sell these, they need to let people know that it isn't gonna last forever. I remember them saying that if I ever left the home and moved, I could take it with me. If I could take it with me, I was assuming it was gonna last forever.

He was very professional. The installation guy was very professional as well and he made sure everything was neat and cleaned up. When he came back in the house, he cleaned his shoes. Everything was done very professionally. The system is semi monitored and somebody will let me know when I have to do something. The RainSoft system’s cost is a little up but if it’s something that's gonna be ongoing for the house, it’s priced good. The technician said the installation was simple but it normally takes about eight hours. The salesperson didn’t know how long it takes and told us it would only take 30 minutes to an hour. It was on a Saturday and it ended up taking our whole day. It took too long. But everything is working properly. When I shower, I like how the water feels on the skin. We use the system to drink water now. We backed out from buying bottled water so we like that part. We started using the reverse osmosis for cooking. It doesn't smell like a pool. It doesn't have that bad aftertaste. We've showed our system to anybody that has come over to the house. I have been a customer of RainSoft for over 40 years. When I moved into my house in Florida I naturally ordered a RainSoft water softener. I have had horrible service ever since. I shudder to think what I am in for for the life of the water softener. I called for the first year's service and then when I called back the next year they said I hadn't paid them. That my credit card was denied. I have a 840 credit score and sorry... why didn't you just call me? So I never called again until it stopped working UNDER 5 YEARS OLD. He has been here once and said that the bolts on the casing were damaged and I needed a new part and was still under warranty so if it didn't pull salt in the next two weeks to schedule another appointment.
After I already paid this charge from 4 years ago and a service charge. They were supposed to come yesterday. When I called to confirm twice with the person in "customer service" kind of a oxymoron for this company, he was very rude and said, "They have until 10:30 to call you and schedule." So I sat around my house for another TWO hours only to find out when I called another extension that the service guy was at the hospital with his wife because she had an emergency that morning. What??? What kind of customer service is this? I have no choice. The stupid thing is still under warranty and I don't want to have to pay for an entire new unit and why is it not working at 5 years anyhow?
I am so sorry I didn't shop these things better and just went on past experience. This company out of Orlando is horribble, just terrible customer service. I shudder to think what is going to happen on the next scheduled service. I mean can you fix it or is there going to be additional customer abuse? I really wish I would have gone with another company. I don't like the fact that they are so bothered by me calling in for service.

When we first moved here, our stainless steel sink looked spotty even after I scrubbed it. But after the first two days that we had RainSoft, I notice how shiny my sink became because of the softener. Everyone should have their water tested because nowadays, with all the things that are being put in the ground, health-wise, it's an option that really should be normal instead of selective. It took about four hours. The system requires an addition of a block of salt rather than the pellets that I've had as well as a gallon of Clorox or bleach per month. The cost involved in it varies throughout RainSoft’s sales district, assuming they're all across the United States. But that wasn't highlighted for the local area. In my case, it was probably an extra 40 bucks a month.

The reps were very professional, kind and knowledgeable, and the installation went fairly quickly. Everything was great from start to finish. I use the RainSoft system every single day. I’ve noticed the difference in the taste of the water and how it affects the way we eat and how we drink it. RainSoft is a much better choice than buying water from a supermarket.

The presentation of the RainSoft rep was simple. When I asked questions, the rep answered them. I got the whole house water softener. We also did reverse osmosis on the tap water at our sink. Since using Rainsoft, we now have softer skin and it feels different when we shower. The water tastes cleaner. It was worth it.

We had a really good experience with the sales rep from RainSoft and it was surprising because I didn't realize how hard the water was here until he showed us that it was close to well water, which was very interesting. We went with the water softener, carbon filter, and the reverse osmosis. The installers did a really good job and we were happy with them. They were super nice. It took them two and a half hours to finish and since we used RainSoft, the water has been softer. I feel it in our hair when we take a shower and washing our hands is not as coarse or as hard on our hands as before.

Working with the rep at Rainsoft was great. He was very knowledgeable and didn't try to pressure anything. The installers were also able to do everything. Everywhere they were, they at least told me they would put it. The system has been great, especially in the laundry room. My kids also definitely enjoy the water. I've never seen them drink so much water. It's definitely worth the investment.

The sales rep of RainSoft was very nice. The installer also did everything for us, explained it to us, showed us about adding the salt, and cleaned up everything after himself. Since using Rainsoft, the water's been so much better. They also let me know what the payment would be. But nobody told me it was gonna be that high an interest rate. When I financed the generator, I got a decent interest rate but when I financed the RainSoft system, it was 26.99. It's ridiculous.

Since having the system, my wife noticed that the dishes don't have so much spots and the water feels better on our skin. She also said that her hair seems to get cleaner and the conditioner washes out better. But when they installed the thing that you use in the washroom for the laundry, they put the water tank right above an outlet, which didn't make a whole lot of sense. So they had to come back out and move it so that the waterline itself went right above where the outlet is when you plug in. The other thing is that they put the air purifier on the ductwork. But then when the ducts came on, it smelled almost like a fishy smell coming out of my ducts and I've never smelled that before. If it keeps up, they could probably come back out and check that out. They were talking about doing it in May.

The rep was polite, courteous, and very energetic and passionate about what she was doing. We knew we had bad water but the result of the water test was a little worse than what we were expecting. And we decided to get just the water treatment system. For maintenance, I have to fill the salt bag every so often. We'll get a notification on our monitor to let us know that we need to add salt. But we were told, for the first year, we shouldn't have to add anything. The RainSoft system has been great so far. We were able to tell the difference in our water about a couple weeks after it was installed. Everything that they've said has been delivered. The only downside is that the water pressure is a lot lower than what it was. But it’s not an issue. It’s just something I didn't realize that it did. It’s due to the system and with the regulator being set at the middle point. I can increase the regulator but I haven't talked to RainSoft about that yet.

They had to move my softener from a small crawl space and they put in a water filtration system that was not theirs. They put a new one in that's digital and repiped where it can't back feed into my water. The installation was excellent. The water is much better and clearer now.

The sales representative showed up on time, and he was extremely informative and showed us all the tests. He was great. The installers showed up on time and did a really good job as well. They even brought us a little shelter for the system being outside. It's an overall perfect experience. Now, we have less buildup on the showerheads and use less soap when washing. I'd tell people to get a RainSoft system if they live where we live.

We've had RainSoft for 20 years. I like it. Talking to the company on the phone, everybody was very nice and helpful. Everything was very good the whole way through. They repaired an existing system that we had. The unit was not running all the time. Now it is running correctly.

We got the water system that goes in the garage and connects through the house. We also got the reverse osmosis for the drinking water. When we take showers, our skin is super soft, even my hair. Our drinking water tastes great even compared with bottled water. I also don't see the water spots anymore. There's not a lot of maintenance on the system. There is an app that we are supposed to download so we can see the filter's life. The rep said it's gonna be at least four years. For the salt, he said that when it runs low, we can order it through them. Just give them a call and they will send it here.

The rep with RainSoft was very informative and not pushy at all. The installers were efficient and went right to their job. Having the system, things are slicker in the shower. When the dishes come out of the dishwasher, the glasses don't have a single spot on them. However, we didn't get any coupons to come and get the salt.

The rep ran our water. Then he ran his test with the solution or how it mixed with the RainSoft in the system. He showed us the difference, and we saw and felt the difference. He did a variety of tests, as far as what we were getting and what they could provide. The installer was a good guy. He came out, told me what he was gonna do, told me how he was gonna run the lines. 'Cause I was asking questions. He was telling me how he was going to do everything, so I was watching.
My main thing was that the installation was neat. The home was just built last June of last year, and I wanted to make sure everything was tied in the way it was supposed to be. The installer was very professional about it and cleaned up. He left me the type of salt that I was supposed to get in the future. So he was pretty thorough. We noticed the difference in the water instantly.

We moved in on March 20th, the guy came and sold us the system five days later, and then had it installed in just a few days. We've been in Sarasota for a long time and the water is not very good. The install was quick and easy. I wasn't here, but my wife was, and she said everything worked well. There were two guys and he explained pretty much everything to us along the way. The soaps that we've used so far and the things that they've given us have really been excellent. The program is not user-friendly, but the materials that were sent out to us and that we got are really, really, really good stuff. They've been really effective.
