We're very happy having the system installed. The water looks clean, tastes better, and also the tub doesn't get dirty as it used to -- it's easy to clean. The toilet as well and sinks. Also our skin feels much softer so I don't have to put lotion on my skin. My face is not dry and hair is soft. So it feels really good, you can tell the difference.

I've been in my house for ten years and I had it put in when I first got the house. Upgraded it later to the Ultrefiner II. The installer was very professional, very thorough and answered all my questions. My system's working well. Haven't had any problems. I like the new water spout that they put on the sink and the fact that I don't have to flush the container under the sink anymore because the old one I had to flush it out every so often.

We like our Rainsoft Water treatment System pretty well but I don't like the detergent because it doesn't seem to suds up at all. The sales representative did a great job but the one guy that installed it never left us an owner's manual or anything on it so we had to get them to send us one later. He had to leave several times since he had to go to Lowes and get different parts. It took him a while to put it up. And then a few days later, the guy had to come back and put new stuff under our sink in the kitchen. The water tastes better and the food tastes better using the water. My kitchen fresh vegetables and stuff tasted a lot better. The clothes seem to be softer. We got that machine that's supposed to clean the air, the air purifier. We don't get as much dust in our house. I have recommended it to some people.

Rainsoft’s salesperson knew what he was doing. He did a lot of demonstration and when he was done, he left me some water from the filter that he had. It was very good. He was very hands-on. We purchased a softener for laundry water, air cleaner for the furnace and drinking water filter. The one who installed them was a very nice gentleman. Came when he said he would, he knew what he was doing and it didn't take him long to do it. He was very personable. And since I had the system there’s less cleaning in the bathroom. I watched the dryer and there’s less lint in the filter. I have less dry skin and itching. The water also tastes good. It was overall a very good experience. Everybody did a very good job and I like the product. Rainsoft was great. They were very professional and the product is outstanding.

Years back, I had a water softener, so I know what it can do. Then, I heard about a RainSoft promotion through Home Depot. They set up an appointment with me for a visit from their sales representative. He was very good and friendly. I decided to purchase the water softener. The installation team did a good job. It took a while to get power to the tub because we had a lot of special lines down the building and I’m upstairs. We had to get permission because I’m in an association. Since the system’s installation, I liked the flavor of the water, as well as my skin’s softness when I’m showering. I was very satisfied with everything and how it went.

We turned in a water sample kit that we had picked up from Home Depot because I was wondering how our water was doing. Then the RainSoft sales reps came. It was a really cool experience. My kids really liked it and had a great time. They thought it was like a science class. We learned a lot from them. We decided to purchase RainSoft’s water softener and filter. The day the installation team came, we were very busy and had to go somewhere. But they did leave the work area clean. The team was great. We really liked them. We let people know our good experience with them, and have recommended them to friends.

I had a previous water softener but it was not working properly and we were concerned about the way the residue was building up on our faucets. So we sent in a sample through the Home Depot. Rainsoft then came out and checked everything out. Did the water test and then came in a couple of days later and installed everything. They got it done pretty quickly and left the area clean. Everything went well. I can feel the difference in water quality on my skin when I wash my hands, or even on the dishes--they look less spotty. The water tastes better, too. That was one of the major concerns that we were having and it seemed to have alleviated that.

I never liked our water. I always bought bottled water so I decided to get RainSoft. Our consultation with the sales representative went very good. He was very informative, very good, and pleasant. We learned quite a bit. We got the RS for the drinking water and the person that installed it was very good, very quick, efficient, clean. We enjoyed his installation. He was very knowledgeable. He was able to answer any questions we had which was great. And the system is wonderful. I like it and the water is now better than our bottled water.
Overall, it was very easy. We didn't have to think about anything. We are planning to do the whole house in the near future. And if we move, they said we can take it with us so it was very good. However, I do have a question. We just got a new refrigerator and it has the water dispenser and ice maker. We were going to hook up the RS to the refrigerator. And the young man did make a line to go to the back of the refrigerator, which was very nice. However, when they brought the refrigerator yesterday, we need to have special connections but then it's something about the pressure. The water has to be a certain pressure before it will work on our fridge on the ice cubes or the water coming out. So I'm not sure if were going to be able to hook it up or not 'cause I would love this water go into my fridge. So we'll have to call them and find out. Anyway, I've already recommended RainSoft to my daughter.

I heard about RainSoft years ago when I first moved up to Colorado and I had my very first one put in in 1985 because back then Denver water was not so good. Then recently I just had a whole filter unit put in because they changed the type of chlorine Denver’s using in their water and I didn't want that in my skin or in my body, so we chose RainSoft to do that.
For the installation team there was only one person and he was very good. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable and I wish I had him every year out here to check the system, because not only did he did a good job but he also listened really well and asked me if certain things can go in certain places before he actually did things. After installing the unit there’s no smell of chlorine in the water. They never came back to test it again, and I could probably test it with one of my hot tub strips, but there’s no smell of chlorine in the water, which is good.
The other thing is my shower stall for my bath - my wife has her own bath - it’s continually dirty, filthy with scum, and it wasn't all soap. Since we switched to the new water, the water that splashes on there now has cleaned the scum off because it’s clean water and it’s leaving nothing behind. Right there, I'd be using less chemicals to clean those areas.
The only problem I have is some of the technicians are not as well-trained as this technician that came out last time. I pay $75 for them to check it and all they do is spend 5 minutes down there and tell me everything’s fine but they never tell me what they did, never tell what they found. Those guys, I’m very hesitant to have my machines down there looked at every year just because of that reason. They don’t test the water, don’t run the machine because I’m in the house and I hear them. That’s not worth paying $75 for.

Setting up consultation with the sales rep was fairly simple. They spoke to us, we put our information down, they called us to confirm the appointment, and the gentleman came out to the house. It was nice to see the stuff firsthand. That helped with the presentation. After having the system installed, the water tastes better, don't use half as much cleaning product as I had to before, cooking with the water is much better, skin is a lot better... Generally the quality has increased tenfold from what it was before. I had a great overall experience. I wish we would have known about them a lot sooner than we had.

We were more concerned with the health benefits rather than the cost of a RainSoft so we had a sales rep come over and he was great. He came out and tested the water, went through and explained everything, and we decided to go ahead and get it. The installation guy was cool too. He came down and installed it and explained everything, when to use it and not to use it. We got the EC-4 and TBS and you can taste and feel the difference in the water. It's been awesome so far.
The only thing that they do that's kind of weird to me is like the order of it all they put it in and let you use it before you ever really sign any kind of paperwork or anything. That was the only thing that's kind of weird to me, but maybe that's just the way they do it. Overall, they're really great. I'm really impressed with the difference in the water.

We got a mailer from RainSoft about ten years ago when we bought our other house. We bought the original water softener because, at that time, the biggest issue was the hard water on my wife’s hair. After a week with RainSoft, the biggest difference I could tell was in my clothes and how they felt. And you don’t have to use as much soap or laundry detergent or what have you. You can tell the difference on your skin too. I had that old house upgraded and just had it bought over.
We recently bought and moved in to a new house. Since the RainSoft water treatment system we had in the old house was a decade old, I figured there was something better. I called RainSoft, and they did. So for our new house, we upgraded. The RainSoft system was user friendly. There’s so much stuff in the market that can be crap, but RainSoft’s products actually work as advertised. I do recommend them.

The current water treatment system that I had in my home failed. So I did my own investigations online with water treatment companies in the metro Denver area and I found RainSoft. When I spoke to the representative on the phone, they were interested in earning my business, with follow-ups and with full discussions of what their advantages were, from the quality of the product to a very competitive price. So I got a reverse osmosis system. They were on time, explained the operating aspects of the system and insured that there were no leaks afterwards. Also, they kept their promises in terms of the negotiated price and their scheduling of the install. Overall it was a positive experience.

A family member had a RainSoft system installed and loved their system. It was a coincidence because the welcome wagon had left the RainSoft information in my mailbox, so it was just a matter of time before we had planned on doing it when I purchased the home. Michael, the sales representative, was fabulous. He was very friendly and welcoming, and even entertained the kids a little bit with his show. It was a great experience.
We got the water softener system that goes all through the house. My husband was here for the install. The first time whoever came out was explaining that they had to install it in a certain way and they weren't prepared to install it the way that they needed to, because the representative did not describe properly the type of home I have. He had to reschedule and came back another time.
My husband and daughter used to have skin issues. One of them has psoriasis and the other one eczema, and now we have less frequent flare-ups and less itching. Also our hair is softer and shinier. We don't buy bottled water anymore as there's no need to. We referred them to our parents and they bought it on the spot, so it's definitely something great. The biggest advertisement is the way they are doing it. There are no RainSoft commercials. We advocate it and I blasted it on social media that we just love our system.
We did have an issue that one of the representative at the Economical whatever third-party company that does the selling here in our town. Because RainSoft removes all the chlorine out, it means that the bacteria builds up in our piping and it eventually started causing an eggy smell, and so we did a little research and we had to buy bleach and pour a little bleach down in each drain and down in the salt. That's what the lady at the Environmental Water recommended; she has a system at home. And the smell went away. At first we couldn't get rid of it; it's that really heavy sulfur smell, and as soon as we poured that bleach and ran hot water for about 10 minutes no more smell. I'm assuming it cleaned up and ate up all the bacteria growing down in the sink.
It would be helpful in the future for a sales rep to tell a buyer what they can anticipate because the water is so clean it won't necessarily go out of the pipe and clean up some of the bacteria. It's not just us, because as soon as I Googled it, I got so many results back. I have a RainSoft system and I got that sulfur smell. Other than that, we love it. It's definitely a needed product. It's something necessary in all homes. For us, it's not even optional - we need to figure out a way to make this happen in the budget.

I first heard about RainSoft through the Anderson Watering Company that installed all the stuff. Everything went easy and good from sales to delivery. I now have the water softener, one for iron and sulfur, and then I have the reverse osmosis unit. They showed me how everything works. After the installation, there's no more odor with the water. I'm not pleased with the reverse osmosis though because my friend has one they spent $200 for that's hooked up to his faucet and it gets from 1600 down to 90 and the RainSoft reverse osmosis system went down to only 320, so I'm not very happy with that at all. Pretty crappy product for what I paid for it. He paid $200 for his and I paid $1000 for mine. That's why I haven't recommended RainSoft to anybody. They told me that they have carbon filters that go into it and membranes and everything, but they're charging me ridiculous amounts to upgrade. With the hardness of my water, that should have been included with the price, and they never did.

He told me ways I could save money by doing the stuff myself and to have service once in a couple of months so you don't end up spending so much money. He was really thinking like it was his system.
Everything worked out great. Being recommended to Home Depot, first company I highly recommend, was a big plus for me. And it was great that we could put it on my Home Depot card and pay it little by little. I haven't had a problem with Rainsoft, besides being really expensive. My wife loves organic foods, organic milk, organic everything... we were both sold once we tasted the water, the taste just blew us away!
I don't have any complaints whatsoever. We got the osmosis water filtration for our faucet and the ice machine, and then we just had the regular two canisters and the salt bin. The sales rep who came to our home was professional, good-humored, good-natured and wasn't pushy in the least. I didn't feel like he was trying to shove anything down my throat. He just talked about the system and showed about how you could save money and I appreciated that. And the system speaks for itself. I do agree with what he said, our clothes feel different and it takes less to soap up things... all the things that he presented to us were accurate depictions of the system. It's incredible! I bought my original system in Dallas in '98. They were doing the door-to-door sales and I've been a customer since. I moved to Oklahoma in July. I was gonna get the guys here to do it but they wouldn't give me the same deal that I can get out of my dealer that I've been working with since 98. So they came up and they installed my new water filtration system for me. Their installation team was awesome. These guys came all the way from Dallas to install my system in Oklahoma and that's just unheard of. I can't say enough about how impressive that was for me as a customer, that they valued my loyalty to the company that much that they would do that for me.
We were probably in Oklahoma over a month before the system got installed and the water was hard and we can feel it; our hands feel cracked. Once the system was installed, after about a week, it's just different. You'd have to have the system to understand the difference. I can tell the difference when I wash my hands at work and when I wash them at home. You feel the softness in the water. You don't notice it when you're at home, but once you go outside, the office, the restaurant, and you interact with regular water, it's just huge! So it's awesome. For the price, it's not cheap but it's definitely something that's worth it. I tell my friends, 'Hey, if you can afford it, get one. It's worth it.'

We had a water softener for the whole house and we had a reverse osmosis filter at the kitchen sink. Had them since the 1980's and they've been replacing parts under warranty until it finally got to the point where they didn’t have anything else they could cannibalize for parts because it was so old. So we got a replacement system and the installation went very smooth. They came in and we stayed out of their way. I told them that I wanted the new one the same way as the old one. They asked some questions where things were and they just knew where it was. Basically they did a fine job and they replaced our reverse filter osmosis too. The only thing we’ve seen so far and for some reason we haven’t understood, it growls every now and then. It doesn’t wake up at night or anything but it prompts us to wonder “Is that normal?” So we still got some questions that haven’t been answered and they're bringing us a book.
In addition to that, we miss being able to keep track of our water usage. Our old system has this front panel where you pressed some buttons and you see how long it had been since it recycled and how often it recycled and how much water it was using. We can’t do that on this one. It’s different, there’s nothing that the consumer can read. But this is not a reservation, not a dislike, we’re pleased with the RainSoft system. It’s working and admittedly it’s simpler but we do miss that feature.

We had done this years ago and then we just didn’t do anymore. We let it go. When we bought our washer and dryer, RainSoft contacted us again. So we thought we'd look at it again. The sales rep was very polite and very informative. The installers were more than polite. They were very cooperative and wanted to work with us as far as how we wanted things done, and they made sure that everything was working before they left.
It works well. I don't have any complaints. The water is soft but it's not so soft that you can't get the soap off your hands. There's no flavor in the water. It took the different tastes away that were in our mouth before. We bought it also because I have a kidney problem so I wanted to make sure I was getting some of the impurities that are in the water out.

I heard about RainSoft through Home Depot. They asked me if I wanted a free water testing. The sales representative, Ron **, was really nice. He explained everything to me. He has the computer that tells him what to do, how it's done, and what’s the water supposed to look like and did the water test. I thought it wasn't so bad but my water ended up really yucky. But it was nice to know because we were having boil alert here in town. I work all the time so I don't ever know when the boil alerts are. So it's just nice when he said that with it, I don't have to worry about the boil alerts either.
So I purchased the water softener and water treatment from them. But right now, it's leaking all over my basement and I don't know why. The guys come in to fix it and it'll be fine. As for the installation team, the guy just basically came in and did what he was supposed to do. He explained a few things to me and said if I have any trouble, to let him know. Every time I've ever had a concern RainSoft has fixed it.

Sales representative was very good, friendly and nice. It was no hard pressure stuff and he made sure we understood it. The installation went smoothly. It was not easy because of the crawl space that the installer had to work in, but he did it well, neat and clean... explained the equipment, how it works, well. The follow-up after the installation of a rep coming down, checking it out and making sure we were happy was great.
We purchased the Rainsoft water treatment system because of the taste of our water and its high chlorine content. Now since having it installed, our water tastes better... bathing getting cleaner... washing dishes getting cleaner... even laundry using less detergent and still getting good results (or even better results perhaps).

If I could give negative stars, I would. We purchased a Rainsoft water system through Home Depot in Feb 2013. During the salesman's presentation, my husband automatically said no when he heard the price. He refuses to pay interest on anything except a home or a car, and 8 grand plus interest was not going to work for us. After my husband gave the salesman a hard no due to the interest, he told us "the best part", that the contract is for LIFETIME same as cash as well as a LIFETIME warranty. My husband says "so the water system will never cost more than $7,995? And my monthly payment will always be $80?" The salesman assures us that is correct. We signed. And boy, do we regret it.
One year later, we get our usual monthly Rainsoft bill from Home Depot except this time instead of being $80, it's over $300. We thought clearly there has been a mistake, we'll call and get this fixed. We find the Rainsoft packet we were given and dig out the contract to find a phone number. It was then I noticed, IN PENCIL, written in on the bottom of the contract "12 mo SAC". The salesman completely lied to us. That was not even close to what we verbally agreed to. He wrote that in after we had already signed our portion. Legally, if any alterations are made to a contract, both parties are required to initial and date next to the revisions, and neither mine nor my husband's initials are anywhere. I can't even explain how cheated we feel. We would have NEVER in a million years signed that contract had he been honest about the 12 mo SAC offer.
From that day I have read the contract back to front a million times, and there are TWO TERMINATION CLAUSES in the contract. The first is that you may cancel the agreement at no penalty within three business days of signing. The second is that you may cancel the agreement at anytime after providing Home Depot with ten business days notice, however the consumer is responsible for cost of materials and labor through date of determination. I'm thinking ok, that kinda sucks but at least we have a way out of the contract.
I send in our 10 days notice of termination via certified mail to which I receive no response. I send in a second notice of termination letter, to which I receive a document stating "my request to cancel my contract has been denied". Umm, it's not a request. I'm not asking you for a favor. Your contract states I can terminate at anytime after providing 10 days notice, and you need to abide by your own contract, Home Depot. You cannot choose which parts work for you and which parts don't. THAT'S WHY IT'S A CONTRACT!
I logged a formal complaint with the BBB. I also recently spoke to a lady named Shandra who is in the Home Depot escalations department in Atlanta who told me I cannot terminate the agreement. When I read out loud to her verbatim the termination clause, she said "I'm sorry you're disappointed, but you're misinterpreting that clause. That means you can cancel within ten days of signing the agreement." NO. The contract clearly says I may terminate at ANYTIME. The word anytime means whenever I want after providing 10 days notice. The language is clear.
I have met with a lawyer twice regarding this as we are now pursuing legal action. PLEASE HEED MY ADVICE AND STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM RAINSOFT AND ANY HOME DEPOT CONTRACT. Lowe's will have 100% of my business from now on, needless to say. The salesman lied to our faces then altered the contract with pencil, and the manner in which Home Depot has handled this has been despicable. We are so incredibly frustrated and disappointed.

Had someone come over for a free water test. His testing took 3 hours because it's a sales presentation. While there, we asked him to put all our documents on hold until we could find ample financing and speak with our HOA about it. He asked us for referrals and we were told these people would only be called if we actually purchased. 3 days later we had not purchased and the people we gave on the paperwork started getting calls. We ended up not being able to do go through with the purchase because we could not get the financing and the HOA does not allow this type of machinery to be installed at the front of our house.
I called the local Pompano location and spoke with someone about the referrals who apologized and was very nice. I then asked her to transfer me to whoever could purge my documents because we could not go through with the purchase. She transferred me to a sales manager who, when I told him our HOA wouldn't allow their product to be installed in the front of our house, said "Your HOA cannot stop you from getting water." I told him that they aren't, we already get water, but the by-laws of the HOA state that we cannot install any machinery in the front of the house which is in plain view of the street. He then asked me for my information so he could call me later with more information.
I asked him what information he would be sending me. He told me cancellation confirmation and "other information." I asked him what cancellation he would be sending me since the documents were never submitted officially. He said there was also other information which would be needed to given to me. I asked him if he could please just send that info to the house, I would rather have it in writing. He was rude and quick, and said, "Fine, I was going to send you more information, but if you don't want it then that's fine," and hung up the phone. Terrible customer service.
The local RainSoft dealer contacted the customer to assure him that the system would not be installed and that there was no obligation on his part. We apologized for this misunderstanding and any concern it may have caused.

I called the local Rain Soft dealer to have a system that I inherited from my mom installed. I was told it would be $160.00 and that the guy would even test the water. Well, he did not install it, he just looked at what we had. He informed me that I had all of the pieces but that I needed a new filter head costing $1750.00 in order to do it. He also said I could get a used on for $999.00. He told me that he would not install this brand new system because they only use the head that was on the filter in Florida and California, that it would cause the system to leak. (Why don't they leak in California and Florida with this head?) He took $160.00 and said I had to have it installed within 90 days. Well, they won't refund my money, even though I was told that was the installation fee, and corporate says they have no control over their own franchises. SCAM!!! DO NOT USE RAIN SOFT!

Since the day I purchased the RainSoft system, I have had nothing but problems with my water. They claimed when they sold it to me that their was a 'lifetime warranty' - nothing could be further from the truth. I had to pay for everything that broke - and with a cheap plastic system that happened a lot. Yesterday, the repairman blamed the latest issues I'm having on the fact that no 'back flow preventer valve' was ever installed. I told him that his company installed it so why didn't they install that valve if it was required?
But by chance he figured out that the problem was the 'timing plate' which was preventing it to run through the whole cycle. He said a new one would be $1,390 and would come with a 'lifetime warranty'. In addition, I would no longer have to set the # of days I want to backwash or recycle, that the new 'timing plate' would be smart enough to know when the system needed to backwash based on the water usage. I told him my old system had the ability to recycle only when needed so why did I need to spend $1,390 on top of the original cost of $7,000 dollars for RainSoft system to get the same capability my original system had? I told him to rip it out, we are going back to the original system. RainSoft robbed me of over $9,000 over the years and I wouldn't spend 1 more penny on their junk.

I saw a representative at my local Home Depot and they told me about RainSoft. I just happened to find them on a good day when I could schedule something. We purchased the home water filtration system that softens the water for the whole house, and then a filtration system underneath the sink. My experience setting up the appointment was very good. They were very patient, because I had some things come up and we had to reschedule a couple of times. The appointment was quite long; the representative, although very nice, was here for about 5 hours, through the dinner time. Literally the appointment was like at 6 o’clock and he left at almost 11. So it was a bit tiring and it probably shouldn't have taken more than a couple of hours, but he was very talkative. He was very nice and we liked him, but it was too long.
They were helpful in that the price that we had talked about. Locating it with the sales representative turned out not to be a good option for us because we were not made aware at the time of the sales pitch that it would back-flush soft water and it would have been going straight to our landscaping, which is not a good thing. But the installation team very quickly figured out where we could locate it and it could back-flush into the drainage system. They did that thing on the opposite side of the house but it was still a very good location for everybody. Now it’s doing exactly what I think it should be doing. It has made the water softer, and of course, the filtration system at the sink is great. I've had one in the past and was really looking forward to having another one cleaning out some of the chlorine and particulates in these old pipes so we've been very happy with the quality of the water.
The trainee that hooked everything up under the sink entangled my kitchen water sprayer and cramped the drainage hose from our dishwashers. So for a week, we thought our dishwasher was malfunctioning. They took a look at it and realized that they had cramped the drainage hose completely shut. But when I called them, they did come out in a couple of days and made the correction. For the most part, it was a very good experience. The service wasn't perfect because the first appointment took too long and we did have to make adjustments with the location and with them having to come back on the install underneath the sink. But really I don’t feel like those were big deals.

I got a knock on the door and it was a guy from RainSoft but was a representative by Home Depot. I set up an appointment and the salesman was really good. I’d say he could sell a refrigerator to an Eskimo. He talked and talked; in fact, he talked me into it. I gave him specifics on how I want it installed. They were really good; they made room for me.
They came out the next day and installed it, but they did it wrong. They screwed up the water system. The first person that put it in didn’t have a damn clue what they were doing. First of all, they need to learn how termites operate in the state of Florida. They don’t bury the unit next to the house and you pile a bunch of dirt in. The unit is framed with siding that will draw termites in a heartbeat. That was their first mistake. You don’t make another problem for a homeowner that’s going to be a bigger problem than to soften the damn water. So, I told them to come and take it out. Another guy shows up. He was part of Home Depot or RainSoft, and said he’d cut out $1,000 off the deal if I would accept it and he’d make all the changes. He got the contract signed; he tore up the whole contract and signed a new contract. But he didn’t change well; I was there. He said he was an electrician, not a plumber, but he wasn’t either one. I had to correct him about half a dozen times.
Finally, they did it away from the house and put it on a concrete box. Later on, I found out that the tank, the wire going from the unit over to the system, is barely buried in the ground. I was just raking my yard and I dug it up. So I buried it up myself. I’ve spent $550 getting my house all treated all the way around just in case something happened that I wasn’t aware of. I feel better about that now, but I wouldn’t have spent that money if RainSoft hadn’t screwed it up to start with.
Then, I got my first bill from Home Depot; it was the original price of $3995, rather than $2995. I went back to Home Depot, they said they’d correct it, and got to correct it yet. If they don’t give me my $1,000 credit on it, I’m gonna take them to court. I’m waiting to see.
They’re probably a marvelous company and I don’t doubt that they do a pretty good job. But all in all, I think the system sucks. My water is no softer now than it was when they put it in. I got scum in my toilet tank every three days from the hardness of the city water. With RainSoft, it’s still there--it still got scum in the tanks. Now I use about twice the amount of salt. I’m ready to turn the switch off.
The local RainSoft dealer worked with the customer to ensure that his issues were taken care of. The billing issue was resolved, and a service technician explained and demonstrated the difference in the raw water coming into the home, and after being treated through the water conditioning system.

The appointment setup with RainSoft was quick. It was that same day we got a quote for it and we set it up for the next day. After we had a demonstration and discussed with the rep about what the system was doing or supposed to do, it's not just the water system but the air system too for the HVAC. It has ultraviolet light to help purify the air, and now that it's warm out, it's nice to know that we're breathing clean air. So we're pleased with that, the appointment scheduling was done quickly and the next day we had their specific plumber come in who does nothing but put these systems in. He was in and out in about 3 or 4 hours so it wasn't that bad.
The house is new. We just closed on on April 10 and then a few weeks in, we noticed there's horrible hard water spots everywhere and how the soap and the shampoos that we were using were not needed to use a lot of water. It wasn't frothing up as it was where we were from which was in Central Jersey. I am from Long Island and that water is even softer so I could tell you there's a big difference and this water treatment seems actually soft enough to a point that it's even better than what I grew up with in Queens Village in Long Island. So we're getting Garden City Park water. That was considered one of the better ones. It's tasteless, odorless and soft but this water after cycling through the township water, they said it would take a few days for us to know there's a difference because it's got to go through the piping system but like I said, the piping system in the house is new.
I have to say I had a piece that I was looking at, I couldn't believe it. There's a little bit of mineral deposit in there. It's like a yellow amber color. What they used here was PVC piping instead of what you would expect, copper. I guess that's what holds it. So, I was very satisfied and pleased with the way the plumber was a one guy doing the whole thing. He cut the lines, put up the large tubings, then they put a bypass system in case we needed to bypass and which we did and if we wanted to water the lawn maybe we don't want to always use treated water. They put in a special cold water spigot or nozzle at the kitchen sink so that water is going through another step of purification for drinking and cooking.
Do I notice a difference? They seem very soft, both of them, but one is cold only and the other one causes cold and hot water. They're both soft and they both froth up well with the liquid detergent and we use a lot less products as we're told to and we do see no spots, nothing. It's amazing. I'm very happy with it.

In the evening, I did get a service call so the rep came out for nothing and then they came back out another time. I signed a deal with them. They were supposed to do some networking with me and I haven't heard back from them ever since so I'm kind of pissed off about that.

I first heard about RainSoft through a friend at church. She recommended it. Then we set up an appointment with a sales rep. They scheduled a time that worked best for us and it went well. There wasn’t any problem. When the sales rep came to our home, he showed us about the system and our water and how it could be better. We purchased the whole house system and the water system that goes under the sink. The installation team came and were outside most of the time. When they were inside, it was all good.
Since we had the system installed, we don’t have to buy bottled water anymore. The water tastes just as good, if not better, than the bottled water. My coffeepot is spot-free now and it’s amazing the difference the water has made. I can also tell the difference in my clothes when doing laundry. RainSoft is a great product. I’d recommend it.

It was at the Home Depot a couple of years back. Rainsoft had one of those booths. We stopped and we looked at it and that's how we heard about them. There was no particular reason I chose Rainsoft over other companies. It just happened to be there.
I purchased the water softener. I don't remember much about the sales representative, that was five years ago. We had that thing for five years. There was somebody who came and did some testing on our water, he recommended the product and they came and installed it. He was friendly from what I remember but that's about it. He did a good job and we talked about how it works, what it does and the maintenance. It was done in less than an hour.
Since I had the system installed, the water quality is great. It feels a lot different. It's a lot softer and I do water testing once in a while with those little strips and it showed that there's less iron. I think the water quality is better, since we used it. It was great. I don't regret purchasing it. It was a great investment. We like it.

I ended up buying the water softener and at-source water purifier. I can notice the difference in the softness of the water. We don't drink the water. We have a purifier that takes all the fluoride that we've had for a number of years. It's called an alkalizer and it works beautifully and it pH balances the water and that's what we drink. So this filter is on top of that filter, basically. The installation was just one guy and it was the next day and he was nice enough. It took a whole lot longer than I expected and cost a whole lot more than I thought it would. But if it truly does the job, if it's worth the money we've spent, then that's fine because I don't want to drink Ontario water. If it isn't, then I'm concerned.

But it will be more helpful when the technician comes to your house and show the test results, like what percentage of what are the impurities in my water. That will be a big help than showing colors. Furthermore I did some research outside and I could find something for the better price. I paid $7,000 for this one, and I found something for $2,500, even $3,500. I was wondering what the difference between that and this, and the person who came to my house couldn't explain it to me properly.
Rainsoft's water treatment system is really good and I can see the difference in the water. My daughter had RainSoft put in her house. She told us about it. We called her salesman and he came the next day. I didn't have time to do my research, to get online and see who else is out there. And sometimes when I get into that kind of money, I'd like a couple of different opinions because I've never had a pool system put in my house before. He came and I decided to go ahead and do it with RainSoft.
The sales rep was good. He did a good job explaining everything and was knowledgeable. The install didn't work out so well. A new guy put the reverse osmosis in under the sink, but he forgot to connect back up one of the drain pipes. We didn't catch it for a while and we got a real nice flood under the sink. Then there was a problem with a leak at the refrigerator which is on the other side of the kitchen after he had it all hooked up. I had to call him back. We had to have a pump installed at the back of the refrigerator because of low pressure. Our refrigerator sticks out way too far with this big pump on the back of it. We don't really like that, but we don't know what else we can do because that did work, but after that, our ice maker just stopped. So we still don't get ice in the refrigerator.
Then, a few days after they left, my wife went to get something out of her lazy Susan there, and the kid had taken the water tube through the lazy Susan, right through the front of it, which means you have to lift up the waterline to put anything in back of it. Instead of going in back of it and stapling it up so it doesn't hit anything, he just put it straight through it, and my wife is real upset about that because you cant put anything tall on the lazy Susan. The waterline is still that way. The install has been a little bit of a nightmare. We also wanted them to bypass the water to the garage but they lied to us. They said turning off some key would shut the soft water supply to the garage but instead it turns off the whole house. We're still dealing with it from the beginning of April.
Now, my wife has to get a refrigerator repairman to come and look at the ice. And RainSoft has to be there because if it's nothing they did, we pay for it. If it's something they did, then they're supposed to pay for it. How do you get two repairmen together at the same time? It doesn't make a lot of sense because it worked absolutely fine and it has for years until they hooked up the RainSoft waterline. I just would not recommend the install. I'm sure the system is fine but our install has been a nightmare and we're not happy about that. I'm not against the water. I'm not against anything, except we're still dealing with the install and it's really, really frustrating.

We could either replace the computer on top or buy the whole new system but because my resin is guaranteed for life, all I did was have them put a new computer system on the top. The installation team was good. AHS reps call when they figure I need filters and they send them to me. So everything is fine.

It was just nothing but Murphy’s Law from the very beginning... The rep who came to our house said the installers would be here on a Sunday so I waited and waited, and finally called him. He had forgotten to turn in the papers so I had to have it done Monday. He also got my telephone number wrong. So they bothered my daughter at work instead of calling me and the installers came out but without the rock salt container so then the woman in the office told me the installers would be here at one o’clock the next day but didn’t get here till two. The guy showed me his work sheet and she had put on at 1-2.
Now the people that were here to do the work were outstanding - they did a really good job. So it was just the representative and the people in the upper offices that I had a lot of problems with. With the experience I had with everything that went on, I'm definitely dissatisfied.

We have hard water and so we have always been looking for something to improve the drinking water quality. I just happened to be at Home Depot and saw the RainSoft ad and had their filters installed. They were very accommodating. They worked through a space in the basement so that everything fit in very nicely. We had two RainSoft programs installed. One was for just drinking water and we immediately noticed a change in the quality of the water. And about four months later, we had the larger unit installed so that we have quality water in the bathrooms, the toilets and the showers. It’s only been about a month so I'm not sure we've noticed a big change, but they assure us it's coming. It was very professional and the pricing was appropriate.

My appointment setter was pretty courteous and scheduled a time that worked for me. It was just the weekend and they had someone come out the same day they called me. They won't come out and do the system like they told me they would. My husband goes out and does their job, and then they get paid for it?
I've had frozen water this year and I've never had that. They promised me that it would not. I said, “That’s my main concern.” And he told me it would not freeze. Well, the low water, it froze three days. I was here without water for three days. I had to go everywhere else to take my bath. I work for a living. And you think I was happy about it? I called those people and big deal! You bought the system. It’s your baby.
I didn't like that attitude. I do not want the system. I want the system taken out. And the system would have been taken out if they would have answered their freakin’ phone. And the guy that’s here now, he said he has the same issue. Every time he tries to call the office, they never answer the phone. So hello, people who work for them are even having the issue. And then when you cook, my water was so hard and you have that white foamy crap. He told me when the system was in there, you wouldn't have that. I can't get them to take it out. Because they said my three days was up. Well, yeah. They don't answer the damn phone.
We contacted the customer's authorized RainSoft dealer to resolve her concerns with her RainSoft water treatment system.
The customer had never had problems with frozen pipes underneath their mobile home until this year's abnormally cold winter. Despite the fact that her system had been installed utilizing an insulated enclosure, freezing did occur. Their dealer is working with them to determine how best to prevent this problem from reoccurring.
We appreciate that the customer worked together with our local dealer to find a solution to her concerns.

If they can do anything, they have to be comparable with what's going on in the market. They don't give you enough time to think about what's involved. We enjoy our RainSoft water softener. We first heard about it as a promotional at Lowe’s Home and Garden and we were more motivated by the $20 gift card. We had a nice salesman, and we knew we needed it. However, the first installers made a sloppy job of the installation. We were very, very unhappy and they had to come out two more times to correct that error. One of their errors is something that nobody has offered to correct, so we live with it unfortunately. The first installers installed the filtering system very incorrectly and didn't give us enough information. They failed to tell us how to get our ice back up to speed. The follow up installers did a good job.
It would be nice if they just spent more time and explain things. If somebody could inform the consumer of what they’re really getting and the differences in the water flow and other things, they wouldn't have dissatisfied customers. They need to inform before they perform. I had to learn how to add the salt through trial and error. I've read the manual three times and made a chart on how much salt to use and when to add it. Nobody wants to try things out on a $6000 unit. Also, they should not put the customer in the hands of subcontractors that are inexperienced.

Then they said 'We would like to test your water because it was found to be very hard." When he came out and did the testing, we came to grips with the reality of the need for the product. That's why we went ahead and bought the water softener system. And we can see a difference in the water.
My shower door which is glass no longer stains. I used to have white ashy ankles from the soap scum stain on my ankle. Now it clears right up. My wife likes the way her hair feels. We like the fact that we can drink the water right out of the sink and it doesn't smell. He did a test on the carpet with just pure water and I said after a while, "Let me try this," and sure enough, it cleaned the spot. We have a very heavy area in the hallway that I could never get cleaned even when I have the cleaners come out to do it. When he did that small little test and just let the water seep through a couple of seconds and then blot it and it cleaned it, I was embarrassed. But it showed that the water does make a big difference. We're ecstatic. We have recommended to friends to have it done as well especially for people that have skin allergies.

We just moved into a new house and we were going to go to another company. The sales guy came over and we liked the RainSoft system. I was angry with the experience because we paid for a $6,000 system and they put it in a $4,000. When I had caught it, I looked at the paperwork and it didn't match up. The water softener we had installed was filling all the way up with water. So they came back last week and put the right system in, the biggest system they would pay for.
I don't really appreciate him not calling me and let me know that they put in the wrong system, for the stuff that I didn't pay. You can tell the difference but it's just the communication of their customer service ain't too good. They're supposed to be sending me a check from my veteran's check for $150 for signing up and getting the system and they haven't sent that out. It's supposed to be in the mail today so I don't know. My wife was very unhappy with them not letting us know.

When I called RainSoft they told me it is not their problem as he has not done them any harm... As a consumer, I am the one who must file charges. We had Cheney Door come out and service it and it is still not up to snuff... We have new computer board, new filters, and reverse osmosis... and we still have floaties in the water. My husband still tastes something in the water. We are out 1400.00 to the scam artist and another 400.00 to Cheney Door and I am having to go to court to try and get the scam artist caught and stopped.
I hope to get some of my money back but I feel that is up to "fat chance". I am very disappointed in how Rainsoft company handled this when I first reported it back in mid 2013. My unit is still not fixed and Cheney Door is willing to come out again for $$$ and for the money I am out I could have bought a whole new unit.... It might not be your problem because you are out of state but the scam artist has taken your company name down the toilet. He has scammed people all over the area here and I think those in your office should do something!!!!!! We are close to getting an indictment against Mr. ** as there are cases popping up everywhere. May once he kills the reputation of Rainsoft then it will be your problem...
