I got the RainSoft water system for the house and the faucet. The rep came to my door to do the water test, and he was great. The installer was also knowledgeable. We had a conversation about my granite and he assured me that he was good at what he does and I could trust him. Now the water feels better and we don’t have to use as much bottled water anymore. It was a very good experience overall.

We got our water tested and the sales rep of Rainsoft was informative and explained the product level to me. The installation team was also good but they had to come back because they had to dig for the drain, for the outside. Other than that, it was fine and our water definitely tastes better now.

I feel like we've been taken advantage of. Our system was installed 10 days ago. I was approached in Home Depot about allowing a 30-minute presentation in my home on water treatment systems for a $20 gift card. Our water here is terrible, so I gladly agreed. The presentation took 4 hours. And it wasn't because we goofed off.

The sales rep does this water test thing and tells me how bad my water is, has all these particles. I won't bore you with all the gory details. We got the usual scare tactics. Only we didn't know they were scare tactics at the time. We discuss in great detail, the whole house system. When he gets to the part about the system using salt, I interrupt to clarify if salt is being put into my water. He says 'no'. I find out today from doing research online, that indicates sodium does go into my water. I ask if it is a water softener like what is used in hotels. He says 'no', this is a water purifier. Hotels only use water softeners. I find out today that I have a water softener.

He says after the installation, I need to empty or run my hot water heater until empty so that we start with fresh purified water. We did that. The installer tested my hot water after that and it was still hard and full of chemicals. He said it was because it takes several days to cycle through the hot water heater. Why. We just emptied the hot water heater. He used a little portable filter that hooked up to my faucet to demonstrate. At no time were we made aware that the installer would need to drill a hole into my house to run a cord to an inside outlet.

He had me wash my hands in 'his' water. Stressed that I not touch anything until he personally dried my hands with his very own paper towels. My hands were all silky and smooth. Said my whole house water would be like that. Well, it isn't. I see no difference in my water. There is still an intermittent smell of chlorine left on the skin after a shower. They refused to 'call before they dig', saying the install guy had his very own equipment to see things underground. Well, he cut my cable/internet lines, which put me out of work for two days (I work remotely).

We were told our monthly payment for 7 years would be $75. When the financial gal stops by two days later to have us sign our paperwork, we noticed that the length of the loan wasn't exactly spelled out, so we had her figure it out on her calculator to make sure it was for 7 years. It was. Well, today, I get a statement in the mail and find out their 'financing' is actually a credit card, and if we only make the minimum payment of $75 it will take more than 10 years to pay off the loan. Needless to say, I wish we would've canceled in the first 3 days. I am looking to see if we have any recourse at this point, but I afraid we are stuck with this. It is my opinion that this company uses the tactics they do so that the consumer has no time for due diligence. You have to install the very next day. You have to make your decision the night they do the water testing. I should've listened to my gut instincts and told the sales rep to leave after the first hour.

RainSoft called me and we scheduled a consultation. The rep stayed in our house for five hours, which was long but it was very useful. He definitely taught us a lot, and we’ve noticed the difference in the taste of the water compared to ours and with the filters. The system is perfect and we love it. It was interesting and a learning experience for my husband and me.

American Home Design does a lot of work for us and they told us about RainSoft. RainSoft called ahead of time for the consultation and it was very pleasant experience with their rep. He came in, tested the city water, and we saw what was all in the water and it was disgusting. We never drank the water because we usually bought bottled water but he explained that all bottled water isn’t good either. So he tested a couple of bottles that I had and one was okay while another one wasn’t so good. He sat down, explained it all, and wasn’t pushy. At first we said no and that we couldn’t afford it. Then we tried to figure out how we can work it in and now we love it. It’s simple and the water tastes great and makes our skin feel so soft and good.

The water that we were drinking before we bought our house smelled like really bad chlorine. Drinking it makes us nauseated. So when we bought our house, I decided to have the water checked. Jerome the RainSoft salesman explained everything in detail. He showed us the test and then hooked up something to show us what the water will actually taste like afterward, which tasted so different without the system. The guy that did the installation was great. RainSoft has a lot of really good people working for them and I've experienced excellent customer service from them.

Having the system made a huge difference in our lives. Before that, we would go through 24 packs of bottled water a day. Since it has been installed I haven't had to buy bottled water. We pay $138 a month, but if you take away all the bottled water that we spend on for 30 days, this system is so much worth it. My son is acne-prone and now, his face has cleared up. I have very sensitive skin and my skin feels better and my hair looks better. My dog doesn't itch as much and her skin is not dry anymore. My plants that I water are healthier because I don't switch the system off when I do. I've noticed a big difference even in my yard and I am very happy with it.

Our water tasted and smelled bad. We previously had RainSoft in our old house and then when we moved, they sent us a card so we called them and got the system here, too. We got the reverse osmosis on our sink. The sales rep was very friendly and nice and knew what he was talking about. The installation team set up the system, but had to get some piece of tubing and then come back and install it. They ended up giving us some free salt because we wanted the system quicker than we actually got it. The first person who was to do the installation ended up doing it the next day. It was kind of a crazy experience, but we're glad we got the system.

It's working well and has cleaned up the color of our water, which is now clear like it's supposed to be. It still has an odor and I was going to call RainSoft about that. The water from the reverse osmosis is fine and we drink that. But when we take a shower, we still notice the smell. Also, they were supposed to email us about the soaps and stuff, but we haven't gotten anything yet and we've had the system for a couple of months.

The sales rep made a lot of sense, and was very enthusiastic and had a lot of confidence in the product. We got the water softener and the filtration system. The product isn’t inexpensive but it seems to me that it’s worth it. The water is clearer and the ice cubes are almost transparent. The glass doors and stuff on the shower have a lot less build up and the soap lather is better. It's pretty much what the salesperson described.

However, the controls for the RainSoft water softener unit are not customer-friendly. It started beeping saying there’s low salt, but then it has two-thirds of a container full of salt, which would lead me to believe that there’s plenty in there and it didn’t need to beep. Then when I tried to clear it, I use the screen, and I ended up changing not the grain level but the salt level. The literature that came with it didn’t help at all with the screen. The system said to call the local RainSoft people, which I did on Wednesday, and I’ve yet to hear back from them. So the operation of the machine seems rudimentary.

I believe in honest reviews because I use them often when determining whether or not to buy some of the more pricey things which I consider more of an investment rather than something cheap and throwaway. Let's face it, we like to know if the money we're putting out there is buying a product that lives up to its claims.

Well, like everyone here, the venture starts off with a sales pitch about the quality of the water you currently have. It surprised me when the salesman tested the water and found it to be of somewhat good quality, with middle of the road hardness. He was actually going to tell me I might not need my water treated, but I still wanted to hear more about the RainSoft EC4 System. He explained how the system worked, and it was different from units classified as water softeners. It has a small salt tank that you can load with 5 bags of salt, but the salt is only used by the conditioning system to clean the filters.

I reviewed the literature and I went online to research the product here where I found numerous recommendations. My interest grew with the positive reviews, so I went ahead and purchased the system even though my water was middle of the road hardness. No matter how good you think your tap water is, I can tell you it still has something to be desired for smell and taste in most cases. I was an avid bottled water drinker, and I can definitely tell the difference between my bottled water and tap water. Needless to say, I was going to some rather pricey bottled water every month so I figured over time this system's price can be offset some with the money I'd save from not buying bottled water.

They offer two packages in the Southern California market (and perhaps others) where you get the conditioning unit and a reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink for the lower of the two offers. The more higher priced options also included some kind of air filtration unit and a ozone producing unit that would attach to your washer rendering any need for laundry soap (which I'm not sure if I could actually feel clean without soap washing my clothes) so I opted for the lower end, more popular package. They were able to install it in my home the very next day.

It's only been a week now and my water has never been better. It feels slippery clean on the body in the shower, and the water produced either in the reverse osmosis 3 filter system under the kitchen sink or the taps where there is no additional filtering is completely free of smell and tastes. I also don't see the spotting of anything in my dishwasher or tap water residues I usually scrub out of the sinks every few days. The water is definitely spotless on the shower doors and there's even a new spigot put on in the front of the house that will allow you to use one spigot with the untreated water for watering your plants or yard with a hose, or you can attach the hose to the treated water spigot and wash your car with a spot-free finish.

Installation was professionally done and it took about 6 hours or so. Expect installation to take place in the garage in most circumstances or wherever your main water line enters the home. I happen to have a source of power nearby, or the installer will run a line to source the power from another location at no additional charge. A PVC pipe "waste/flush" line was run along the ceiling of my garage to a point where the pipe was installed through the drywall into the drain for the washer on the other side of the wall. Keep in mind this was what was needed for my installation since I didn't have any nearby drainage sources near the unit installation. 100% professional workmanship on the pipe soldering, etc.

Don't let me forget to add that they also throw in a 5 year membership with a company that will supply you cleaning materials for an estimated "5 years" based upon the sales pitch. I can't confirm or deny that it will work out that way since I have no way of knowing how much we can actually purchase using "points" given to use for that purpose. The products are mostly concentrates that you'll add water to in order to create the end product. They gave us some free samples of each item which includes laundry, dish washing, window cleaner, general purpose cleaners, and a bar of soap.

It didn't take much concentrate to mix the products so the concentrate should last a long time, but again I can't know if it will be 5 years since that depends on many factors. I think the point is, you will use LESS cleaning supplies since your water is conditioned. I think it's safe to say you'll cut your cleaning liquids in half (again my estimate). Just my experience, but with the cleaning liquids they offered me and since I don't need to buy more bottle water, I can nearly pay for the price of the system in about 6 years.

One final note for those who want all the details. With any water system there is a small amount of maintenance. The cost of the salt, which runs on average around $7 a 40 pound bag. Don't think that will be a large cost, but you also will need to change the membrane in the main unit in the garage about every 5 years at a estimated cost of $400 from what I was told. So, that comes to about $7 a month average. Also, don't forget you need to change the 2 filters and membrane in your under sink reverse osmosis system at least annually (or up to 18 months in some circumstances) for around $75 online. Keep in mind the prices I'm providing are estimates, but should be close.

I want you to have all the information you need to make an informed purchase if you feel interested in getting one of these systems. I feel you won't regret it. The water quality will be superior. I saw one review state that it was better than "bottled" water. I concur. This system lives up to its claims. Worth mentioning is RainSoft included a Lifetime Equipment Warranty and the dealer provides a 1 year Service Warranty. It's also possible for you to take this system with you if you should move, although it may require you to obtain the services of a plumber or RainSoft dealer to make it happen since it does require some plumbing knowledge. I believe they quoted me around $400 to $500 to make that move, but CHECK with the installer for realistic costs if you plan to move anytime after your purchase and you want to take it with you.

RainSoft really opened my eyes to know exactly what's out there.

But when I was considering doing the system, I felt like they pressured me. They told me that it was only a one-time opportunity and that I needed to it right then, so my husband and I went ahead because we thought it was something beneficial for us. When I finally researched, I went on a RainSoft blog and asked the consumers to see how much they were paying, I found out we were being overcharged. I asked the company why and they told me it's because I got all these new products. However, the only thing the other consumers didn't have that I had was the air vent cleaner, but I assumed we shouldn't be charged an extra $2,000 even for that. The installation guy was very good and worked very, very well. Now, we have done away with buying bottled water since we buy every once in a while just to have something on the go. There's also a reduction in the detergents that we buy. Also, the water that goes on the body and the lack of stuff it leaves behind on the showerhead, on the dishes and especially the silverware and the glasses, it’s not clouded anymore. RainSoft has delivered what was promised.

We like our RainSoft water treatment system and we can tell it feels softer on our skin. I first heard about them through Home Depot, and their sales rep came and did a water test. He was nice although he misled us for a little bit when he told us to tell Rainsoft that we don't need to call him as much. But then the tech who put in the system said we need to because it's going to be harder to keep the toilets clean since the system takes the chlorine out and we needed to put in chlorine tablets. But it's been a good experience.

After a very hard sell experience from a dealer (came with a supposedly free water test from Home Depot) my fiancée decided to purchase their filtration system because we were getting ready to adopt three little boys. Here it is two years later and we owe more on the darn thing than the original purchase price. Our monthly payments doubled after one year with no warning. And they called today to schedule a cleaning of my unit for the low low price of 140. What a scam they have going. We should have stayed with the Brita pitcher and bottled water. Don't waste your time and money on this.

The installer was very informative and I was very happy with everything he did. We’ve had a couple of techs come out just to check things, and everybody’s been very professional. Everything went fine and was real good during the consultation. There are some days when we turn our water on and all we smell is chlorine. He convinced us it would all go away, which it did. We got the EC4 Series that is a water treatment system. The installation guy was really good, knew what he was doing, and explained everything when he was doing it. We moved and our realtor who we've kept in touch with recommended RainSoft. We have a well system and the house has been sitting for a while so we needed someone to make sure everything was up to date and running properly. We’ve had their representatives out a few times and we've always had really good experiences with them. It usually was the same two guys and they work well together. They are really professional, kind, nice, explained things in layman's term that we can understand, and have always gone above and beyond to help us fix whatever issue we were having. They always look at the system, explain all of our options and cost, and help us make the best decision for us.

Anytime we’ve needed them, they're out the next day or even sometimes that same day so they're very prompt. It was usually only me who's at home when the installation team comes so they explain things to me. Then, if I have any questions I can call my husband and they'll go over it over the phone with him before we make any major financial decision. They're really patient with communicating with both of us.

Most of the issues that we had was about the water pressure. We still have more repairs that we need to do, but we are not financially ready to do that yet. But major issues within the house just like our water pressure has improved. We ended up purchasing a new pressure tank and they've replaced half our system. What we were having was affecting the water pressure inside the house and that came back to normal now. I don't have any complaints and everything is great. We'll definitely use RainSoft again in the future.

I had quite a bit of interaction with the installation people as they had trouble setting it up. It seemed like there was a gap in communication between the guy that I bought it from and the installation people about where to put the system. They had to work for a long time to figure out how to get it right. Since having the filtration system, the water is a lot softer and smoother. It doesn't have a chlorine smell to it and the taste is better.

We were shopping in Home Dept when a lady asked us about our water. We told her it was terrible so she hooked us up with RainSoft's sales rep who was professional, intelligent and knowledgeable. He said he was a master chemist and that he used to be over the Dallas water system. We've had serious problems with our water for 45 years. The whole water system is the worst in North Louisiana. It would stain fixtures and clothes. We took the test and he showed it to us versus what it looked like before he ran it through his little machine. He convinced us and we did the deal. Home Depot offered this closeout deal to do it that day for free soap for about five years and no sales tax. We got the full treatment plus the water under the sink which breaks it down to bottled water purity.

The installation team took a lot longer than they had planned on because the way our water comes into our home, it splits to two different pipes where one goes to one end of the house and the other goes to the other. They had to go back to the meter so they could run it to the system and back out to where it hooks up just past the meter to go down. They did a lot more work than they planned on and it took them all day. Now, the clothes are cleaner, the water tastes great and we know that we’ve got good, clean water to drink. I’d recommend it and as a matter of fact, I’m trying to get our son to get the system.

But other than that it's okay. Their rep was friendly to speak to, knowledgeable and seemed like he had been doing it for a while. I got the water purification system for the house without the reverse osmosis. However, the person that had entered in our stuff for the product giveaway had keyed in the wrong address and it went to a neighbor but everything was still there and they gave it to us without issues. That was one negative because we were waiting an extra week wondering where it was then found out what happened.

Since having the system, we're not wasting time refilling filters over and over throughout the day trying to drink our water. Also, the skin is totally better because we don't have other extra chlorine in the water for showers. My garden's doing better because I don't have chlorine in the water as well. Otherwise, he needed a blocking cap to stop the water once he did the thing. He had to drive back to Home Depot to do it which took more time. He never did get a water gauge, so when he left we didn't have enough water pressure to run both our toilets, except the pounding on the pipes that pumped the water up there. I called and another technician was sent out who corrected the problem.

With the water treatment system, the water tastes better so we put in the drinking water filter as well. But the faucet that was put in for the drinking water came loose the other day. Another technician is going to be here this afternoon to fix it. I'm hoping that's under warranty or else I will be doing that. We live in an area where the water is terrible. Even the water that comes out of the water treatment facilities has some problems. It's high in chlorine. So, we were looking for a water treatment system. RainSoft's rep, Robin, came out and did a presentation. He was very personable and a good salesman. He did his job really well. It was very easy to convince me because I knew our water wasn't good. He still showed it through his little test kit. Also, we had a very antiquated system that was not providing us with the level of water quality that we wanted. He hit us at the right time, so we purchased their reverse osmosis system for drinking water, the full soft water system, and the ozone unit for the washing machine that allows us to treat or wash the clothes with cold water and with a little soap. They said we'll use the detergent for the scent and it works fine. We got the whole nine yards from them.

Rainsoft's product is good and their people were professional. They presented their information and gave some facts. I also knew that the price is high, but we decided to do it. It wasn't a hard sell at all. We signed the contract two hours after their presentation. A gentleman came to install and he's physically a good sized man. He said he could put the system in but he can't fit underneath the very narrow subfloor of our house. His boss came with him the next day and he installed the system. They were polite, did a great job and cleaned up after themselves.

After having our system installed, our water is completely different. It tastes good. They claim that it's as good or better than most bottled water and I agree. We used to have big cases of bottled water everywhere but now we're using it straight out of the reverse osmosis and it taste great. The showers are much different because of the soft water. We feel much more comfortable after a shower. We don't feel that dried out feeling of hard water. Our clothes are cleaned with cold water and we don't heat the water for the washer at all. We're happy with it. The price was high, and we're going to make payments for years, but the water in our house is good. We really thought about it and as we go through life, we have at least one thing picked off that's healthy for us. It was a very good experience overall.

He worked well within my schedule, was very knowledgeable, took time to answer questions that we as well as my children had. It took a little longer than we expected because of the random questions, but it was a lot of fun. We purchased the water softener and reverse osmosis system for drinking water

The installers from RainSoft came out one day, put it all in and did a great job with it. The guy in charge talked me through everything easily, like some of the differences between using rock salts and pellet salts and the different places to get. There’s a part where the water line goes down to this deep sewer line and they have to have that part inspected before they can bury it again and a couple of days later once the job was inspected and approved, they came and filled it up. They did their job cleanly and explained everything nicely. The whole process was very smooth and I can’t expect any more than that.

My children do not like any other water now, which can be a problem when we’re at the park and they have to use the drinking fountain, but that’s fine. We use less soap and have soft skin. The soap and products that come with the system are pretty good. I called RainSoft and they said, “Test out the products, find out which ones you like. The ones you don’t like, we can trade for the ones you like.” So it's a good deal and I’ll be calling them soon.

I had a Rainsoft water softener installed 30 years ago and it worked great for several years. It finally gave up and I went on the computer to find a dealer and the one I found was in Missouri. I was disappointed that there wasn't anything local but they did a good job coming a long way over here to Illinois and taking care of me. Over the phone, they knew exactly what I had. The guy that showed up had one in his truck and he sold it to me and he installed it. He was able to take the old unit out of the tank that I had and took it outside, cleaned it all up, took it back down the basement and put a new unit in it. So all I had to do was buy the unit, not the tank that holds the unit and the salt. Now the water feels wonderful when I take a shower. It's squeaky clean and I like that feeling.

I’m a big fan of the environment. I like clean water and we got tired of buying bottled water so we had the RainSoft rep come over. He was really nice. We got the one where they had the pipe into our plumbing and the air thing that gets all the allergens out which makes the air fresher in the house. Their installation team was very nice, gave us suggestions and left the area clean. The water now is a lot better, the laundry is a lot crisper and we’re breathing better. The water washes dishes and clothes better as opposed to before when we wash our clothes longer. Now, we wash less loads in our washer and dishwasher so we’re saving money.

My mom thought I was using bottled water and I told her I'm using water from my sink. Our pets have been drinking their water better and we can’t keep their water bowl full enough. The taste of the water has gotten so good that when I tried to drink juice from the store, it tasted so bad to me that I wanted to drink the water instead of that. Also, we don’t have to use that much shampoo and soap with this water. I could save on water too. In fact, our water bill right now is only $20 a month. We love it. We weren’t sure at first but we were really happy that we got it. My mom said that she wanted to put one of those in her home too once she gets a new home. Furthermore, the air cleaner has been really good for me.

We knew we had hard water in the house as the water around the San Antonio area is really hard, so we figured to get a water treatment system. We got RainSoft's water softening system and the reverse osmosis for the kitchen sink, and the team that installed it was very good. We could definitely tell a big difference from what we used to have to what we have now. There is no more buildup around all my walls and there’s a better feeling getting out of showers. So it’s a lot better and we're loving it.

If you don't want to take the time to read this review, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANY RAINSOFT FRANCHISE. -5 Stars. First off, let's start with the back story. My wife and I just moved into the area. We received a "free $20 Amazon gift card" voucher in the mail. Knowing it was going to be a sales pitch, I willingly called expecting to turn whomever away and try and come on top. It turns out you have to invite the individual into your home to receive your "incentive." I think, well why not I don't know anyone in the area and have not much else to do during the week.

To the actual details and visit... The salesman showed up on time. He was professional and smooth as one would expect a door to door salesman. I told them over the phone it would be only myself home for the presentation, but he insisted that that was wrong and we have to wait for 2 people to be present in the household. There we were for 45 min waiting on my wife to get home from work wasting my time chatting because he can't start without 2 or more people. My wife gets home and we start listening on how bad our water is as it is city water and not softened or filtered. He has a case full of, now what I would reflect on as, "rigged MAGIC tricks". Anyways, the product works better than nothing. I will give them that.

However, they you a sales pitch that it will pay for itself almost immediately. Being a young couple we decided to fall into the "now or lose this great offer" deal including free cleaning supplies, no installation fee, and no down payment, thinking it would actually save us money because of the ability to move it from place to place and having a lifetime warranty. After we signed, what I found online is that each "free warranty" call has an~$100 service charge on it. On top of that, you can find about the same system at any hardware store for about less than a sixth of the price they wanted (they asked over $9000 for the full system and ~$6000 for just the water (which the water logically should cover 2 of the 3 systems)). IMPORTANT NOTE: They can ALWAYS managed to install the next day to seal you in. If you make it later you have to to back out before installation with no problem!

The aftermath: We called them back to cancel because we had to talk it over and go through our finances. We cannot afford this product. The man we talked to to cancel our installation and contract was extremely nice and experienced, probably used to cancellations. After we had cancelled, MY WIFE (whose information wasn't even on the contract details) was contacted by the salesman. Now, I wasn't on the around for this exchange, but from what I understood was that he was extremely rude to her and said that "we just bought a house so we can afford this." EXCUSE ME!!! How do you know what my financial situation is and who are you to tell me what it is?!

Who are you to talk to my wife that way to make her that upset (even being as laid back as she is)?! After experiencing this sales experience I would rather spend 5x what they were quoting in order keep my service from them. BTW we didn't "qualify" for the $20 Amazon gift card and never received it. So take from this review as you will but I hope it urges you to cancel your contract or send your product back immediately (if you still can). DO NOT DO IT! Let's take it upon us to end the companies that try and take advantage and simply use their customer.

The salesman who came here and demonstrated the product, the installers, and the owner were fabulous. We got the whole unit including the EC5 with the carbon and the air masters and now we can drink the water right out of the faucet. It's warm because we're in Florida, but it tastes great and our skin is so much softer. However, we're having a hard time downloading the app on the phone so we'd know what's going on with the machine. Apart from that, we're so glad we did it and we've put it on the website of our development, so there are people here that are going to get it as well.

I had 3 floods due to malfunctioning of the unit which ate away my basement floor due to the salt. I reached out to the service company that sold and repaired the unit, and they told me I need a 1300.00 upgrade, which I can't afford. I don't trust this product at all. I purchased the unit for 5000.00 in 2001 with a lifetime guarantee, and I have the receipt to prove it. I sent an e-mail to the RainSoft corporate headquarters, but they do not respond to me. Since having the system installed, the water tastes better and the skin is softer. I like all the products as well including the coconut bar soap with the little grains but it gets depleted very fast. We use a lot of bar soap and it gets consumed quickly. We do use the body wash, but not as often as the soap. So I was wondering if I could switch the body wash container for bar soap.

There are a few issues with my water, of which I am aware, but when they quote a price of $5800-$7100 for the softener and drinking water system it stops you in your tracks. Next they start telling you how much you "save" if you have their water softener, etc. More effect but it still comes back to the money. YIKES! For me, the money was just too much. RainSoft may be the Cadillac of softeners but it also has a Cadillac price.

It was unbearable and I've always heard Florida water was bad so I wanted to check out what's going on with it and did the Home Depot water testing for free. I took that home, tested my water, and sent it off. Then they called me and gave me my details and my numbers on how the quality of my water was. They had a guy come out who did a demonstration and showed us what's going on with our water. He recommended RainSoft so we went with that, got our unit, and we're loving it so far.

The sales rep was very thorough, enthusiastic and attentive. He kept our attention the entire time, helped guide us through, and explained everything. Then when the installer came out, I peeked in and out on him while he was doing his thing. He helped me understand the system and how it works as he was installing it, and he answered all the questions I had. Now the water tastes a lot cleaner and it feels a lot better taking showers. I can definitely tell the difference and I don't have that hard water feel when I get out.

So when it started beeping one day, and I was getting ready to go somewhere, I tried to hit all the right buttons in a panic, but I must have hit the wrong ones. When we got back at about 9 o'clock, it was still going and had used up 18 inches of salt, so we had to call them back. Sometimes I didn't get it but he would work around and see if I could figure it out another way. I also had quite a few questions and he answered every one of those. I got the water purifying, air purifying, the laundry, and an accelerated purifier that is put in the kitchen. During the installation, the only one that got me a bit upset was the guy that set up the appointment at 3:00 but didn't get here until 5:15 as he got caught in traffic. That was no big deal. It was just that I didn’t know what was happening with him. The guy that brought the water filter stuff was really nice though and he explained it all to me. He put it where I was hoping he would be able to because I didn't want it in my garage which is not big enough. I have a boat and a car so that would've been a problem.

Since installation, I don't have any issues that I've had before. The toilet ring used to be moldy black. I would always get that crap out when I flushed it and back then I cleaned it every other day with a brush, but it has not reoccurred one single time. They also installed a little home filter under the sink and the water tastes wonderful. I'm happy I did it and I also like the soap products they included in the package. Lastly, it shocked me that they gave me a zero-interest loan and a long time to pay it out. I had a budget because I’m retired but RainSoft met my terms on financing, so how can I lose?

The salesperson from Rainsoft said that their system has some kind of natural cleaning products that works really well with soft water as well as the benefits to appliances and plumbing which got us interested to learn more so we set up a time to have them come over and do a demo. I grew up with water softener in our home so I'm familiar with the idea of it and I noticed the differences between hard and soft water, especially as cleaning products go in terms of their effectiveness and efficiency. Between that and learning more about some of the offers that were tied to the RainSoft products themselves, we felt it was something that was a good investment for our personal health and home, overall.

The installation people were very polite and excellent. They made their assessment in terms of what was needed and made sure everything got put together properly the first time around. They walked us through the basics of the system - how to use it, what to look for, common things that may happen but not to be worried about, and contact information in terms of who to call if we needed some help or wanted to discuss any issues. Since installingithe system, there is a difference in the texture of the water. It was mentioned back in the consultation that it would feel slippery as the result of having soft water, and it’s definitely true. We also had the reverse osmosis system put in off of our kitchen sink and our water never tasted bad before, but it’s "cleaner" where if one could ever taste "clean" water, I felt like I could taste that with the reverse osmosis system.

However, I thought that I wasn’t getting the soft water that I experienced 28 years ago. The technician was nice enough to come back and check the computer and the filter. What he found was that our water heater's full of sediment. When water goes through it and comes back out, we’re still getting the hard water issue. And of course, our electric bill’s crazy too so the water heater needed to be replaced. I purchased their softening system which comes with a free water filter.

The guy that came in hauled all the stuff down some basement steps and installed all that salt for the system by himself. He was like a superman because he’s doing real good for his age. It took him about an hour to get it done. He sat down, talked to us and ran us through what we would be getting as far as the soap, etc, to allow the hot water heater to drain about four times before it becomes 100% and what to expect before and afterwards. This is how much salt that we’ll use in a certain amount of time that we use it and that was Einstein stuff to me. It was a very informing and educational experience. I’ll have him come back down in about three months and I’ll pay him to check it out and make salt. I’m going to have them maintain it. Since the installation, I take a shower about three times. I wish, at the time, that we would be able to afford a whole house system but we couldn't but at least our drinking and cooking water is better now.

RainSoft Water Treatment - Florida Energy Water & Air. Initially we were called by someone from Home Depot regarding letting a salesman from RainSoft Water treatment system come into our home to discuss it, and for our time we would be given a Home Depot gift certificate. We always shop at Home Depot and since we feel it was such a reliable company, we thought no problem and scheduled a date we would be available.

3/24/16: In our home came this wonderful salesman who did a marvelous presentation, Brian **, who sold us a unit for $4,595 in conjunction with a Home Depot credit card arrangement with a no tax purchase and a 1 yr interest free application. He stressed that the system is no problem as everything is done automatic which was a major issue, as neither of us are mechanically/computer literate. Immediately on the same day within the hour, Jesus, from the company came to installed the unit.

3/25/16: We were told that a Mr. Keith ** would come out to inspect the unit. While he was here he started to instruct us about having to use the computer, I flipped! No mention about the computer needing to be reset by Brian. We are not capable of using any computer to operate your RainSoft equipment. We immediately told him that we were told by Brian ** we would have nothing to do, it is all automatic. Now being told differently, we told Mr. ** to have the unit removed, as no way was this ever discussed or agreed upon! "Get it out!"

While there Mr. ** called someone in the office and he wanted to speak with Mr. **. It was Josh who told Mr ** he would remove the computer head and replace it with another head. Mr ** stated that the system was made by design as a unit. "Not acceptable. Remove the unit!" Being somewhat concerned, we did some research only to find out about the 82 complaints with the BBB about their company. When I asked about it, it was stated that all complaints were satisfied. Told him I still wanted the unit removed!

3/29/16: The next day we drove to Home Depot to cancel the Home Depot credit card application; we met the wonderful store manager, Jessica **. Discussed our concerns; she helped us cancel the credit card application and she also stated that they are used by the store for this and others energy products but she knew of no problems with the company, and that Home Depot does stand behind a company.

3/30/16: I left a message for Brian. Days went by and nothing was happening, so Mrs. ** called several times to get the unit removed. Still nothing was done and no calls. I can't remember the exact date but I received a call from a man stating that his name was Bruce, a Supervisor with Florida Energy for RainSoft and would like a meeting at my home. He came one morning and was extremely friendly and warm. He stated that it would cost more to the company to remove the unit, but if we kept it he could reduce the price to $1,900 rather than the $4,595 and this would benefit both of us. He pleaded and we caved in by knowing that Home Depot would stand behind the company. We accepted the new contract with one condition - that they come out to adjust and service. He left us his card and cell phone number.

4/28/16: Bruce came back to our home with another application to be filled out; he called from our home to process the Home Depot credit card application for $1,900. He filled out another contract and I signed it. He then again sent over Keith ** for another inspection and another signing. Both of us said that the problem was not the workers who came to our home, it was that we did not get what we were told about the unit.

The really huge major problem was when I kept noticing discussing blackness in our three commodes, I would clean and clean and clean on my hands and knees down all the way to get it out. This was such a disgrace to have something like this in our home with guests coming and going. I called Bruce and he told me "Oh, that sometimes happens due to no choline in the water"; "WHAT! This was never discussed with us that this would or might happen. Get this unit out now; I do not want this unit in my home. How in the world will we ever get to sell our home with this problem." He said he would reach someone and I would be called. I waited and waited; then I called him again - "Oh, no one called you yet. Let me get ahold of him now." Twice he gave me this message.

Again I waited and waited. In fact my last call came from my hospital bedside. I left a message that it had better be removed by the time I am out of the hospital or I will take these horrid pictures and discuss the pictures and problem again at Home Depot. I was released Fri 5/27/16 and the unit was still attached to our home when I returned home. I called and spoke to a Mr. **. He was rude and told me "it will NOT be removed period." Sunday we drove to Home Depot to meet with Ms **. She was not in on Sunday, and Monday was Memorial Day.

Tuesday morning 5/30/16 we returned to Home Depot to again see their Store Manager Jessica **. She was more than helpful in wanting to assist us. She took the time to look through all our paperwork and discussed things with us. She then called and spoke with Jason and got nowhere; I then spoke with him. He was rude and just said he stated he would not remove it. I repeated it over that it was not what we agreed to purchase. We were lied to and then brow beaten into doing both of us a favor by keeping it for the cost. But when these terrible black stains kept reappearing daily... no more. Get it out of our home. It is only hoped that this albatross is removed from our life as soon as possible.

We got tricky water so to be safe, I wanted something really nice and I got a water softener from Rainsoft. The Rainsoft sales rep, Daniel, was great and we had a wonderful experience with him. He's very informative. He went over everything thoroughly and explained everything to me. Also, he advised me that if I have any more questions I can contact him anytime and he would talk to me.

We bought the whole conditioning system that uses salt. The installation people came and they took everything apart. They went over everything with me and then came back and went over everything with my husband when he was home. Since having our Rainsoft system installed, I could see a difference from before. I use less soap and everything the sales rep said it would be. I don't get any spots in the thing, my pipes are clear, and the water's really good.

RainSoft contacted us and sent a technician to our home. Dave checked out the system, tested our water, and made sure all of our questions and concerns were addressed. We are now extremely happy with RainSoft.

    Original Review: May 29, 2016

We were stopped at Home Depot for a survey about our water and received a call from RainSoft a day later offering to test the quality of our water supply. The representative that showed up took almost two hours and kept focusing on how soft our hands should feel when we washed them in the sample of softened water. We ended up purchasing the system anyways because of all the benefits of soft water- less detergent, less mineral stains, alkaline water... and he insisted we contact him three weeks later to test the water with the system installed.

After two weeks, we were curious as to why the salt level hadn't moved (since the installer mentioned we'd have to refill every three months) and contacted RainSoft. My husband was told to contact the local dealer because they could not help us. The local dealer said they could try telling us how to check the computer system over the phone and that they would call back to do so the following day. They never did. We called back asking for a technician to come out and were told they would call back. They never did. I contacted our salesman, Edwin, to tell him we weren't contacted but he just kept asking if we "felt the softness of our hands with the new water?" At this point my husband asked him to please answer our questions, but he said he couldn't, that he would find out and call us back. He never did.

For a system that cost over $6000, I expected better customer service. I gave up and won't recommend this to anyone. Now my questions are, why am I thirstier than ever, why are my pets drinking three times as much water, and does this mean the salt is entering the drinking water system? I guess I have to just get my blood pressure checked daily because I won't get an answer from RainSoft.

We were renting a home in the town where we lived and the landlady lived out of town, so we worked as the local liaison between her and any problems of the house. The well pump broke and we were without water so we called Rainsoft and they came out and installed a new well pump. Later on, when we were having problems with a sulfur bacteria in the aerator of the well system, which caused an unpleasant sulfur odor with the water within the house, we called Rainsoft to come out again and give us a consultation about how to resolve the problem because we were impressed with their service with the well pump repair.

They provided an estimate for a peroxide system that would have gotten rid of the aerator which is where the sulfur bacteria was building. The landlady agreed and Rainsoft installed the K-System which is a $3,600 system that made the sulfur bacteria problem go away. We were again very impressed with their installation of the equipment. The lead or field installer is also a member of the family that owns the business. He was extremely knowledgeable, pleasant to deal with and wasn't a salesman that comes out on the first time call. He was there for a particular problem to fix and after dealing with him and getting to know him a bit, I was perfectly comfortable and confident with him.

In December of 2015, my wife and I purchased a home so we left the home where we had been living where we first met Rick and Rainsoft. In our new home, which is also on a well, we experienced the same sulfur bacteria problem which is endemic to this part of Southwest Florida. So we ended up having Rick and Rainsoft install a $3,600 35K peroxide sulfuring system with great results. He was here himself leading the crew and managing the installation. Everything went wonderfully. If there will be future issues, I might get a quote from a second company just because that's the way I am as well as most people are if there is anything significant or great expense to consider. But I can't say enough about Rick ** and Rainsoft in my area.

I contacted RainSoft of Denver late afternoon 1 month ago and Peter called me back 2 hours later after business hours to answer all my questions about their water softener. While anticipating his call I did online research myself, concluding that I wanted a Filtration System that doesn't use salt. RainSoft sells both, however my concerns that the salt could eventually damage our septic system and leach field were resolved. He sent me documented evidence on use with leach fields. Their water softener uses 1/3 the amount of salt than other units use. Also they have a wifi wireless app to more accurately monitor the amount of salt that is used, instead of an automatic timer that releases the salt. I really put RainSoft to the test with documentation to prove accuracy to all their claims. Peter supplied everything that I needed to make an intelligent decision.

I have been EXTREMELY SATISFIED with every aspect of this company. They use technicians that are employed with their company. These technicians came to my house to install the water softener and reverse osmosis water filter (which I added to my order after lengthy discussions with Peter, Denver Dealer/Owner), at their scheduled time and were highly educated in the products. You too, will be able to trust this company, with their high-end products. You'll be impressed with the warranty!

I needed a water softener from RainSoft because my water out here was very hard. There was a good inch of lime in the little test tube when Jeremiah who was from RainSoft tested it. I knew it was hard because all my sinks would be having white spots all over everything. I had to wash everything down if the water stays on it. Also, this house is just six years old and my hot water heater has already started that bubbly sound that it’s still doing it. I can’t get to flushing the sediment myself without taking the outside board off because it’s screwed on. In my old house, I used to flush it out with the hose, but I was afraid that it would cause all of my plumbing and everything to back up, and I can’t afford that. A water softener makes things look better when I wash my clothes. If water is hard, a lot of times my clothes don’t come out like I want them to.

I was a little surprised with RainSoft's price, but in time it’ll pay for itself. Jeremiah was very thorough when he explained everything to me, and the two guys that came out here to install it worked in the rain. I told them, “It’s raining, I don’t think you’ll be able to do it today.” And they said, “That’s what we’re out here for.” And they worked with the rain pouring off the side of my house. One of them had to hold the board that goes on top of the little box that I cover it with. They were very responsible and did their job. They didn’t have time to show me all the things out there, which is why I called and had someone else come out and go over it with me. He tested the system and it was working really good. Everything is fine. I’ve even heard the system cleaning one time from my bathroom window.

It has now been about a month and a half and we just love it. First off, no more crappy water (I'm not going to count on elected officials to tell us when the water is bad), it tastes amazing! Then, using soft water for bathing has cut down on the amount of product we use and is so soft! And food and drink now tastes so much better. Also, we are no longer damaging our household products. AJ was great and the support has been great. We just love our soft water, and our dog's hair is sooo soft. A RainSoft rep came for a consultation regarding our water and it lasted for 8 hours. I wasn't planning on buying their system but when he tested the water, it was disgusting. What intrigued us about RainSoft was that we got the double amount of product for $6,000. The rep was saying how much we could save. My daughter googled to really see each of the product and the prices of other systems since we didn't want to be screwed. We went back and forth with the salesman. We told him we wanted to sleep on it before we decide. The next morning when my daughter and I got up, we both had agreed to go for it.

The salesman said that the installers were going to cut a hole in my granite to put part of the system underneath the sink. A young kid and a supervisor came for the installation. They said something about running a line to the refrigerator which got me confused but made me think that they didn't have to cut into the granite at the sink but I'd still have clean water throughout the house. The supervisor left without saying goodbye and it was just the young kid doing the installation. When I called the salesman and he questioned me about where the team installed the system, I told him about my confusion. However, he said that with the type of system installed, I'd only have clean water coming out of the refrigerator, not the sink.

I realized then that a mistake has been made, but then the salesman called somebody and had another installer come out to fix it. The next installer came - an older gentleman who seemed very knowledgeable. He was looking for a part needed to install the system in the sink. I told him that nothing was left with me but luckily, he had that part in the truck. I would not have been happy had he needed to make another appointment. The system is now installed but nevertheless, the first installers should have made me understand that I'd only be getting clean water out of the refrigerator, not the sink, with how they first installed the system. I think they were bypassing some extra work.

The salesman said that with the system installed, we don't have to use lotion as much. Not true - my skin is just as itchy and very disgustingly flaky. He also said that we will not see rain spots on the faucet and the handles but I'm still cleaning the faucets like normal. It's also not true that I wouldn't get spots when washing my car and I don't need to wipe the water off it. In truth, when the car dries, I couldn't even see out of my windows.

We were supposed to meet the salesman about a week ago for re-testing but he hasn't come back yet. I don't know if this system is worth six grand and there's no way I'm gonna tell anybody that I paid that much. There's nothing I can visually see to be able to tell people to buy the RainSoft system. Still, it's easier and cleaner to drink out of the faucet with the system rather than keep buying filters - the water tastes better. Moreover, I wish the system wasn't so expensive.

I was a little suspicious about the validity of the test done. We were shown many things and that we had high acidity. So just to be on the safe side, we got a little test kit and it worked like RainSoft said.

Now we are using the system and have noticed a huge difference. When your water has high acidity, after you take a shower your skin feels dry. Now it feels like we still have some soap, which is the natural oils that people have. They don't get washed away, so it makes a difference. The water also tastes much better for drinking. However, the installers did the reverse osmosis under the sink and they lashed it around my sprayer hose. They installed the system to where the sprayer is locked under their hoses, and I can’t use the sprayer anymore. Other than that, the whole experience was great, and I'm very satisfied.

Initially, when RainSoft's sales rep from came out here for consultation, I was a little put off in the expectation because it was a direct engagement and I didn't know what to expect. He dove right into it without explaining. But it worked out to be good. He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. And when the installation team came out, they didn't know what to do, so they had to come back and they still didn't do it right. I have an older property and they probably aren't familiar with it.

Fortunately, I had a plumber tell me until I had them back out the third time to fix some of the installation, the way they strap the pipes and the way insulated them. But since installing the system, I noticed we got softer water and all usage from washing to soap and through clothes and different things, getting it maybe a little bit help. I got a good dishwasher but it might have improved that slightly. All in all, RainSoft has a good quality softener and they have a good way to maintain it. They follow up and they do what they say, whether it takes a couple of times or not.

RainSoft dropped mails off our door so I called to ask what it was. They came and did their test of the water, and we eventually purchased one of their treatments. Their installation team came the next week and told me the best way to hook it up, and they did it one night. It's been all good so far. Our water tastes better and it works better for our showers too. We have a daughter with cancer, so we like the fact that we're using treated water now. At first, I wasn't really going to spend the money considering the cost but I think it's been worth it.

RainSoft is a real good system. It's doing a great job. Our water is better than it ever has been, but it's extremely expensive. The startup cost is $5,000. And pot perm is $50 for the little container that I have to put in there about every month and a half (they told me it would last three months). I talked to one of the gentlemen who put it in and he said, "Well, maybe you're using a lot more water than we thought you would." There's only two of us in the family though. So if I'm spending another $50 every two or three months, that adds up to a lot of money at the end of the year. I would eventually get to a point where I won't know if I'm going to be able to afford to keep putting pot perm in or not. I told people about Rainsoft and how much it's costing me and they're trying to decide if they can afford it.

RainSoft sent a flyer and we called their number. A guy came out to our house in Florida. He was personable and we liked him. I was there for the installation and the team did a good job. I didn’t know of any things that came up that I didn’t think was right or questions I had that they did not answer. They were fast as well. If the salesman came in the morning, the installers came in the afternoon. Our water is definitely softer and better now. We’ve been happy with the RainSoft system.

I was shopping down at Home Depot and a lady came up and asked me about my water. I live in Sierra Madre and the water here used to be great. It's from wells. But since the drought, I ended up with brown water. I told that to the lady then somebody called and asked me if I was interested in having clean water. RainSoft came out and I got their water filters plus the thing for the washing machine that goes under the sink and holds water. The sales guy did a great job and convinced me that I was buying a good product and that I needed the product. We charged it up to the Home Depot credit card, no interest for a year, so the purchase worked out great.

The installation team did a great job as well. They came up with the greatest place to put the unit. Installation went very smoothly, and I was very pleased. The only problem is that the pressure seems to be a little low. I had to have a regulator because the pressure was like 90 psi, but now I haven't measured what the pressure is. The other thing is that one of the hose bibbs is on the soft water system, not the water from the street. It probably needs to get changed. I don’t want to use all my soft water watering my plants. The guy mentioned some line going out that way, but he didn't realize what it was and I didn't realize what it was myself, so not their fault.

Except for spending money, the whole experience was great. My wife likes the dishwasher stuff. We were having a little trouble with the glasses not turning out very bright, but this stuff seems to clean very well so we're happy with it.

I had water softening system and the older type of filter for about 17 years. I stay in touch with Life Water Systems here in Mississauga and their sales rep gave me a call every year for the maintenance of the system and was very persistent to make me update the filters. Also, the saleslady here in Toronto was trying to convince me about RainSoft's reverse osmosis but I felt it was too expensive. But for the past couple of years, I've spent the money on the bottled water, so I decided to switch, and I’m very happy with the taste of the water now.

As for the installation, it was fast and very efficient. The gentleman who installed it had everything ready for him and handled everything. He explained to me how it works. So if the filters needed to be changed, I'm planning to get the filters from their office and change it myself instead of calling a technician. The only thing that can be improved in the customer service of this company is if the saleslady had sent me a bottle of this water three years ago, maybe I would have bought it earlier.

We were over at our friends' house playing games one night and they gave us a little envelope from Home Depot. It had a little vial in it and you were to take a sample of your water and send it in, which we did. The salesman who came out and tested the water said we had pond scum. It was high in sediment which we did know, but it was also high in chlorine. RainSoft's sales rep was terrific, very likeable, and he sold us our water softener system. Our experience with the installation team was absolutely fantastic. Because our water was so hard here, I was told that after they put the system in, it would be absolutely spot free. It'll be wonderful, but it turned out it wasn't exactly that good, so they came right back and added another system to it that has absolutely made it 100% pure. It was financially painful, but by all means, I would highly recommend RainSoft. They're an outstanding company.

The installation team explained everything, like how we can work it or if we have any problem, we should call customer service. I like the product. A RainSoft salesman came to the house and we liked his presentation. He put things out so we could see what we had, and we liked what he had to say. We are in a relatively small house in a new subdivision, and we've had problems with water staining things like the flushes. He also seemed like a pretty good guy and looked like he needed a raise in pay so we bought it.

The installation guy seemed to be very knowledgeable and knew exactly what he was doing. I chatted with him a little bit and helped him out in the backyard. The fellow that came around and did the testing and went on around was fine. I have a concern about the sun on it in the latter part of the afternoon, though. I wasn’t apprised of the fact that sun might be detrimental to the system, however, there’s no way I can block it out there. Other than that, I would definitely recommend them. It is something I really believe in this area is needed and anybody who could afford it should have it. And while I think it was a little expensive, I have absolutely no complaints to this date.
