I got the RO System from Rainsoft. Their sales rep was good and the installation team did a good job. They cleaned up after themselves and explained everything well. It was a great idea to have the system installed and I have already recommended them to others.

We're enjoying the difference in the water since having the RainSoft system installed. The team explained everything. The salesman was fine and the installation went good. There were some questions that I had that they had discussed with me when we were setting up what system I was going to get. They made sure they noted what I needed in the future in the system and the computer if anything comes up. Everything was good.

I got from Rainsoft their R/O unit and the water softening system. Everything was good with the sales experience. The sales rep was very professional and she informed us what the unit was, what they're going to be doing, and the purification process. The person who worked on it was very professional, checked the system and made sure that everything was working good before he left. Once he verified it was good to go, everything was good from there.

I had a positive experience with RainSoft. The installation went smoothly and was done professionally.

I filled out a form and was chosen to have an offer from RainSoft. During the consultation, their sales rep came very polite and clearly spoke to us about the system and he demonstrated in our house with a little lock system and proof of the benefit of having the system besides keeping the regular government water system. When the installation team came to my house, they repaired the system and they install it and they worked pretty well. The only thing that I had is that they put a system online that is like a text file that works with pricing, and that pricing system was very, very low. It's not working like in the way it was working before we write up a little price.
Prior to installation I can tell our water is dirty. There's a red color, and it's completely full of leaves, heavy metal inside and the system turned that into a different taste, by using the water I feel better so I would recommend RainSoft. They came with the value of the system for the demonstration but I wish they'd come back and fix the water because they said things will work differently from water systems depending on the water policy we have.

When I first purchased the house, the previous homeowner had a RainSoft water softener in the house so I just continued to stay with them and everything's been great. Every time a sales rep has come, they pointed out the good and the bad. The one thing I like about them is that they don't pressure me at all in any way and they just give the facts and let me base my decision on that. The installer was great. I talked with him and asked him if I could help him in any way. He said no. He had it in 1, 2, 3 and his steps down. I liked his work ethic, the way he kept the work area clean and didn't leave anything behind after cutting wires and the little plastic tips. He was very precise on what he did.

We just moved here in Tierra Verde. I didn't want to drink/wash in the water since I've seen bits floating about in the tap water. I don’t want to absorb it into my body. When I asked around, the superintendent scientific lady in Pinellas County (where we made inquiries as well aside from here in Terra Verde) recommended Rainsoft. So we had him make out the agreement and a Rainsoft rep came and fitted it.
I had showed the installation guy the leak inside the garage before he started, but he dug a very big hole in the garden and then put the equipment outside. We argued about it so then we spoke to the young man who came in the first place, the following day, and within 24 hours they came and taken it out of the ground outside and put it in the garage where it should have been installed. It's just been an awful waste of time. But apart from that, all of the stuff was delivered about a month later and it seems to be quite satisfactory since. I hope it’s working okay because I didn’t want the fluoride or the chemicals in the tap water. So hopefully, it’s been filtered out.

I just knew that Los Angeles doesn't have a great water supply for hardness and other stuff, and so RainSoft seemed to hit the nail on the head at the right time. The sales rep did a cordial explanation of what they were offering and the schedule and what the results would be. After that, I decided to purchase the reverse osmosis clean water and also the whole house filtered water. The installation team explained what they were going to do and it seemed rather simple, so we went from there. My wife had an issue with the installer when they were putting in the pipe to drain the water softener about where they were going to place it. To her estimation it was a really stupid place to put it and they in fact had it all on there when she had to tell him they have to move it because she didn't like it there and she thought they should have asked first.

We walked into Home Depot and the Rainsoft people just said something about a water survey - I didn't realize I was going to be getting sold something but the sales representative was very courteous and knowledgeable about the product. He did a good job because I bought the water and air system. The guys that installed the system were all really good, too. The guy that did the water took two different days but he went as quick as he could. The air filter guy was in and out. I didn't even know he was here. Our water now is definitely a lot better. Where we're at in Lake Elsinore in California, the water is really bad, so this is definitely a huge improvement and it's really nice having those the soaps. The air filter only came in on Friday, so I haven't really noticed anything yet, but I'm certain it will be just as good.

We decided to have RainSoft when an agent came to our house to fix the water and showed us that our water is not good for drinking. We purchased the air purifier and a filter, but the filter was not installed properly and they had to come for a few times to fix. Everything is fine now. Our water is good. I just didn’t like the free products that they give.

RainSoft is the second system that we've had. Our experience with them is really good. The guy who installed it was very competent and explained what he was doing. The installation took a little longer than expected but it went very well. I understood everything and how to use it, even though this system is different than the one we had before. I would recommend them 100%.

Quality of our water has definitely improved since using Rainsoft. We got from them the reverse osmosis and the water filtration unit for the big dog. People from their Sales were professional. They came to the house, were clean cut, normal, and educated in the product. The same goes for their installation team and they were on-time too.
I think their margins are a little bit bold though, meaning I really feel sorry for the consumer that doesn’t educate themselves going in to the process. They start out at $8,000 and I bought mine for $3,000. But if that's their business model, that's fine by me. I evaluate companies for a living, so I wasn’t intimidated by it. They did not come off intimidating but they have to make money so that’s fine. And in the end I think I'm fine with the whole experience I've had with Rainsoft.

We had a very satisfactory experience with the installation guy. He knew what he was doing, gave us all the information and explained the warranties. Now we have a good drinking water and we don't have to buy anymore. It's better compared when we had the hard water. I told my brother-in-law who is in LA about this and he is interested.

They came back and went through everything again, just checking. Everything was good.
RainSoft's water treatment system was great. Everything was handled and done on time. What they said they were going to do, they did it. My fiancee was out of town so he waited until she came back and he came back and talked to us again with her there. The installation team was friendly and professional, and did a good job of running the plates and hoses, and cleaned up afterwards. The place was as clean as it was when they came in. Since having the system installed, I've noticed the soap starts to dissolve better. Since I had experience with RainSoft before, I thought to myself, I'll call them and I got it for only about $2,000 which is way, way different price wise. Eerything is working fine. He told me what he had put in it and that they would come out in the New Year to service it. He also told me to call if I needed them.
Since then, the water is much better but there is still a little bit of residue on glasses, the cloudiness and there’s some odor when you first start it. My skin doesn't get super dry because the water here was pretty hard when I got into the area. But now I noticed that it's not as hard anymore. The only mishap was with the salesperson, **, who did the presentation. He lied to me big time. When the supervisor came over after the whole system was installed, we had a big discrepancy with the price and the financing part, and he understood that it was because the salesperson lied about it. He shouldn't be a part of the company. Rainsoft lost $1,700 because of it.

The installation team was very good. We're still getting some grit out of our bathroom faucets, but have noticed there's no grit in the kitchen area so that might be something that was just residual in the line. He had his stuff set out, and ended up showing us our water and the particles in it...all that stuff. And he cleaned my wife's door and glass window, so he could show her the difference. With the installation, everything was scheduled well and I think the only one that dropped the ball was me, and that was because I forgot about the schedule.
We purchased the water conditioning system for the whole house. We got it where it hooks up to the house and then had the osmosis underneath the sink. The RainSoft installation team came out and told us who they were and what they were going to do. I didn't like what they were going to do, so I said, "We'll need to switch that." We just moved into the house and knew the water wasn’t the greatest from Mckinney. We wanted to get softer water to preserve our tile and shower, and for better drinking water. My wife told me that the salesperson for Rainsoft was a little bit pushy and did not explain the other systems to give us any options that may fit better for our house. He was not the best and that’s one thing that should be improved. But we wanted the system so we purchased the top of the line. \On the other hand, the installation team was awesome and very professional. They worked with us on our schedules and made the experience really good for us. The water is definitely softer and we don’t notice the spots like we used to. We are seeing some streaks but it’s not that it used to be although the salesperson told us there’d be no streaks.

We ordered an in home system. I used a $500.00 gift card. I cancelled at 8:00 the next morning. So nobody came out to install it that day. My AMEX card was charged after I had cancelled!! (To the tune of $5395.) They will not return phone calls. They do not show you an itemized statement. (So again, did I save any money and what am I spending this money on?)
We contacted the local RainSoft dealer who sold this customer a RainSoft whole-house water treatment system. The customer did, in fact, cancel the day after the sale was made and our dealer refunded her monies in full, to her credit card, the same day. She was sent a statement of zero balance indicating the refund was made and nothing was owed.

This is our second experience having a RainSoft system. We had a guy come out to do some repair work on our first one and it was so messed up that it’s better to get a new one. The installer showed up on time and told us from beginning how long it would take and it was actually a little bit less than what he said it would. That was nice when people show up when they said they’re going to. The water softener turned out what it was supposed to be and I’m very happy with it.

I decided to give RainSoft Systems a go because regular water is a bit hard and harsh on the skin and I was really aiming for better skin treatment. The guy who came out here and did the presentation did it for me as far as convincing me to really get their system. He's very professional, courteous, and when he was done with the presentation, he explained all the entailed cost. I'm not spitting no millions of dollars but the guy made it very plain and clear that it's helpful in saving money. I also know that it’s something that would be beneficial to me. There's just one thing about the installation though. They installed the system inside my house but now I'm starting to a hear knocking sound in my refrigerator - I'm still trying to understand if that has something to do with the RainSoft system. But all-in-all they did a great job and I'd recommend them to anybody.

Ten years ago when my daughter was born, I wanted to get purified water for the formula so I had a RainSoft system installed. Rainsoft called and because we had moved they asked if they could come out and do a water test. I hadn't moved my water softener yet and wasn't sure if I wanted to bring it or not. So I had them come out to check the water to see if there is a need to move the water softener. I showed the installation team where I wanted the water softener at and they installed it. The water’s a lot softer -- a lot cleaner. We bought the carbon filters that filters out all the chemicals out of the water before it goes through the water purifier. We don’t have the reverse osmosis now but even without that, you get a glass of water in a glass, the water looks really clean. Don’t see anything floating in the water.
But the salesman was pretty pushy on trying to sell me a new one. All I needed was the current one moved and he mentioned doing the carbon filter. It pulls out the contamination out of the water. My wife was there and we both told him that we wanted to sleep on it and think about it because it was a big purchase and he kept trying to push the issue, trying to get us to sign, saying we wanted it when we told him a couple times that we wanted to sleep on it and think about it. It was annoying. But the system itself is good -- definitely worth recommending!

Most recently I was told that my low water pressure can be fixed by a service charge but now the repairs would cost me 1500 dollars!!!! Not sure how 90 dollars turned into 1500 dollars. Next the tech explained that they would sell me another unit??!!! What??!! No thank you. I now own a 7000 dollar paper weight.

What bothered us is the sales guy led us to believe that the program was through Rainsoft for five years same as cash to pay for the softener, or we could pay it on our Home Depot card and have the same terms.
Well as it turns out, we put it on our Home Depot card and they gave us 18 months to pay it off, not five years. He needs to tell the prospective customers "well if you go through us it’s five years same as cash. If you go through Home Depot and put it on your Home Depot card, then most likely they’re gonna offer you 12 months or 18 months." We ended up using some of our savings. There was a time in our life that we did not have resources like that and this would have been a major problem. We were gonna call and complain but we had the money set aside so rather than complain we just paid it off. In the fall of 2007, we received a "doorknocker" on our front door, offering a free water test. Since I knew that we lived in an area with hard water, I called and set up an appt. Their salesperson came out within a couple days and did his spiel. Unfortunately, he wanted us to purchase a package of Rainsoft products to replace our usual products for dish washing/hair shampoo & conditioner/laundry detergent/etc. I absolutely refused to pay the extra $ for something we were unlikely to use (obviously after spending years trying different brands and finally finding what we believed were the best products for us, we were very brand-loyal). The sales rep said that it was mandatory that the package being included with every sale and he had never had a system sale where the add-on package had been deleted.
I told him to call his Sales Manager because if he wanted to make the sale, they were going to have to sell me the system without the add-on package. After obtaining approval from his Sales Manager, we agree to purchase the system. The installation went very smoothly but as someone else has previously stated, all the water supplied to our hose-bibs was softened, so when we were going to water the lawn, we had to set the valves on the system to "bypass", then turn them back to normal after we were done watering the lawn.
Other than the way that the sales presentation was made, I have nothing but praise for the Rainsoft system, except that the local Rainsoft dealer refused to tell me how to override the RO alarm on the EC4 controller every year when it went off (instead of having the service guy come out every year to replace the filters in the R.O. unit, I preferred to save myself the cost of the service call by purchasing 2 sets of filters every second year and changing them myself). As a result, I contacted their headquarters and was instructed on how to reset the alarm.
Since then, I have taken the system with me on each of my 3 moves, having a Rainsoft dealer come out to remove and then re-install the system each time. Now, I have gotten wise(r) and discovered that since I can replace them myself and purchase the filters at Home Depot (paying a much more reasonable fee for them), that is what I am going to start doing from here on. The only thing that I am having a harder time sourcing is the R.O. membrane cartridge (although I really haven't spent much time at H.D. looking for one yet. This time, I may even try to do the re-install myself as well, in order to save the cost of having a dealer come out and do it.
I love my Rainsoft system and obviously would never go without it. It makes a huge difference in the quality of the water, no matter where I live and the R.O. system does a great job of purifying the drinking water (I can definitely tell the difference in taste/mouth feel between the R.O. water and bottled water, not to mention that it makes great ice cubes, coffee, tea and water for cooking in). This is the first time since 2007 that I am replacing the R.O. membrane cartridge not because I have tested the water for TDS and know it needs replacing (which is how you gauge the performance of R.O. membranes) but just because I suspect that it may well be approaching the end of it's lifespan (even though Rainsoft recommended replacing it every 2 years).

He came back and made no problems about it and then went through with this whole show in the house. We ended up buying the whole water conditioning system--the whole shebang. During installation, the guy looked exactly like he knew what he was doing and he was in and out in no time. Now our bathroom looks a lot cleaner, there's not really any silts come on it - I spend a lot more time in my shower now. I recommended them to a friend and he put it in his house as well.

We got a home demonstration on what water treatment could do for us. Then we had a house fire and when we rebuilt it, we let RainSoft check our water and set everything up for us. I bought the entire water purification system and it does the entire house. The thing that caught me off guard was the salt that we have to add to the system was not mentioned at all in the setup. My wife has told me that they were supposed to send us two more bags of salt that we haven't received yet either.
When they installed it, my wife dealt with them but any questions they had, she called me. They're very knowledgeable and answered all questions my wife had, respectful of our stuff and very professional. Our glasses are cleaner and I noticed difference in our skin. One of the deals we got is the free soap and shampoos through a natural organic website through them for 6 years. It's been all around great - no more water spots and our slide glass doors on our showers stay spotless longer.

We had an older Rainsoft system when we purchased the house. We discussed with the sales representative what our problem was, made an appointment and sent the technician out. He took care of what was needed and always put us back in contact with the sales which I guess is the owner of the company because he was very apparent we're going to need newer equipment than what we had. That's what we decided to do and had the full water treatment system with air purification. The installer took 4 or 5 hours to do all of the work - removing the old one, disposed of everything as he said he would do and installed everything professionally.
I was very satisfied since it solved our problem. We were getting hydrogen sulfide gas coming into the water and it's totally eliminated. The water never tasted better and we're very happy.

The Rainsoft sales representative was very good and very professional. He did his presentation, we asked some questions and he made phone calls to get some answers for us. I purchased the whole house water softener and the under-sink system. The installation was supposed to take one day, but it wound up taking three days for the guy to come out. And then we were having problems so we had Rainsoft come back out. We found out that instead of tying into the main water system, he tied it to our sprinkler system, and we weren’t even getting conditioned water for the first month that we had the system. When he came back out to repair it, it took him two days to do that. I was inconvenienced over what was supposed to have been a one day job, took a total of five days over the course of the month. And no word from anybody about “Man, we’re sorry. We know that you’ve been paying for our system and not getting it.”

The only thing that I could request is when they dug the trench and put those lines in the ground, they put all that sod back on top but they never really rolled it back down with a roller so I actually have two to three inch ridges of the grass and the dirt sticking up. The installation crew that came out here to install this system was excellent. It was a good team. Nobody got in each other’s way and each one of them knew what they had to do and did it. I would like to know what others have paid for the RainSoft TC water conditioning system? What was the starting price? Did it change if you said no? Did it change if you called to cancel? What was the final price? I have two tanks (one for the carbon and one for the resin, I am told) and a water softener tank into which we add salt. I was told for the water in this area, two separate tanks were necessary. I truly believe that they really hope you get hooked and say yes to the first ridiculous price, but after several several nos, the price magically has lots wiggle room. I feel ripped off. I confirmed with our Home Depot Consumer Credit card today that our Purchase Price was $6,995 on January 2, 2013. I called my RainSoft dealer yesterday and asked the price of a TC model as I described above, and was given the price $5,495. I mentioned I had seen it at a friend's house. Then, I was told they could match the price my friend paid whether it be a year or three years ago... Wow. Wish I had a friend who was better at saying no than me!
Today, I called my RainSoft dealer and told them I felt I was overcharged for this system, and who should I talk to. I was very nicely referred and transferred to Financing in case they needed to make any changes. I wish now I would have had him confirm the price before I gave him my information so he could pull up my account. After he confirmed my purchase price of $6,995, I asked him why when I called yesterday, the price was $5,495 dollars and why when I called about 30 minutes prior, the price was $4,500. He asked me who gave those prices, but I only wrote down the information (now I will write more names). I was very clear on the TC model with two separate tanks and a separate water softener tank, so I am not sure why the prices were both different. Why couldn't I get a proper quote when I was very clear what I was inquiring about? The finance gentleman said the $5,495 TC unit has the resin and carbon in one tank. I followed that statement with, "So the second tank cost me $1,500 to add on, correct?" This was confirmed.
I then proceeded to tell him I remembering asking about using the one tank system to cut cost, and remember being told the water in this area needed them separate or it would not be as clean as I want for my family. The finance gentleman said the water in this area is bad, and two is really necessary. This brought up the fact that after installation, no tests were performed showing me all that cloudy junk that I was previously drinking, bathing, and cooking with for my family from my water is gone. I was real surprised all that was tested was if my water was hard or soft after the installation. Ironically, it still was somewhat hard, but I was told it would take a little while for the pipes to be flushed out with the old water and the new water to be all that was in the pipes. Okay. I didn't push it, because I was already skeptical and wanted to do my own water test. I went back to Home Depot to purchase a water testing kit, and wait for it... They don't even sell one!
I was offered the "free water sample." I thought well I will fill this up and put the address of a family member, and see what the results are then. I didn't want them knowing the sample was from a newly installed system, so I could be sure the results weren't biased. I am disappointed that I did not finish my plan, but the duties of 2 young children and a three-week-old baby kept me very busy and tired. I felt my 3-day window of cancellation was gone and I was screwed, so I just gave up. It still bothers me tremendously, so I've decided it's never too late to voice my opinion. The finance gentleman today was polite and listened to my concerns. He did set up an appointment for the tests I saw with my unclean water to be shown to me with my "filtered water," due to the fact I felt it was never confirmed that chemicals and all the other stuff are now being filtered out. I will share the results when I receive them.
Now, let me start at the beginning. I was in Home Depot once again shopping for never-ending household items when a gentleman with a clipboard asked me if I would like to be entered to win a $20 gift card. Well, of course! I actually believed this was a true Home Depot employee with a real free gift card drawing! Well, days later, I received a call that I won the gift card, and all I needed to do was a quick in-home water test. Honestly, I know city water is treated with chlorine and other awful chemicals and ironically, I had wanted to test our water. We had just had our third child 2 weeks prior and I was curious about our city water, so I agreed. There were two salesmen that showed up, one a manager, and the other a trainee. By now, it's obvious I did not "win" anything, but they called every person who gave their contact information for the "drawing." This was just an in-home sales pitch, and I would actually be "paying" for my free $20 Home Depot Gift card when I, for some blinded reason, purchase a $6,995 water filtration system! They were very nice, did hours of water tests and explanations.
Then, did a whole comparison on the money I would be saving by using the free soaps and cleaners (which the laundry soap and dish soap do not clean well and I definitely have spots all over my dishes... I even tried giving the products away to family members and they gave them back due that they did not clean well for them either!), the money I would save by not purchasing bottled water, and other ways I can fit this huge purchase into my monthly bills. I said I would like to do research on comparing the price of similar products. I was promptly told there is not another company who can provide me with this level of filtered water. Odd, but you are honest with me, right? My husband said, "This company was recommended through Home Depot, so this all must be legit and a standard price." I wish I would have trusted my gut. My husband was sold on providing clean water for our children to bathe in, drink, eat from, or drinks that have been prepared for with water (this was pointed out many times during the pitch). Showing my uncertainty about this filtration being worth $6,995, we were offered an air sanitizing unit that was used once at a recent home show, only if we decided right now.
I was reluctant, but my husband is trusting and agreed. I agreed we need something to filter our water, but really, is all that is available a $6,995 unit? I asked if there was a cheaper one, and was told there was a one tank system, but it would not provide the best water I wanted for my little children who soak in the tub daily. I just sold my beautiful Nissan Altima with 75k miles for $5,000, and this filtration system is worth more... $2,000 more than that? I can buy at basically 14 new PlayStation 4 gaming consoles, several, several nice computers, a really nice used car.... When I say these things, I wonder how did I think this was worth paying this amount... What did I buy! They set up installation next day, which gave me overnight to do research. In the little time I had to decide if I would cancel or not, I still did research and saw how when people said no, the price could magical drop...thousands! I called to cancel, but was told again how dirty and full of chemicals my water was that my family consumes daily, and how many other systems require costly replacement filters (really, for a lifetime, the same stuff in those canisters will clean my water like day 1?), money I would be saving each month, etc.
I told the manager about all the different prices I was seeing, and he responded it was probably the one-tank unit. Perhaps some, but I was seeing pictures with two tanks as well. Plus, this was my only chance for the air sanitizer! Agggg... I was so confused on what to do. I fell for the "safety of my children" and told them reluctantly to come ahead. I have felt awful about this purchase everyday since. Many posts mention after they decline, then a 20% discount is offered. I really feel the first price is just where they hope to hook you as you are staring at the dirty water samples from your "unclean water" you're about to bathe your kids in before bed. I truly think if I would have stood my ground stating this price is inflated and/or canceled, magically, the price would have dropped dramatically! I am upset because when I shop at a store like Home Depot or online, there is a price that I and everyone else can see and we all pay the same. At the time, I trusted that since Home Depot basically sold me to RainSoft by allowing them to lie and trick me into what I believed was a Home Depot sponsored Gift Card Drawing, at least the price I was paying was the same as others receiving the same product.
It didn't take long for me to be honest with myself and realize I just jumped at giving my family cleaner water, and was taken advantage of with a ridiculous price tag of $6,995, which was merely the most they try to hook you with, unless you can say no to providing your family with better water numerous, numerous times. Please share how much you paid from the ridiculous first offer, to the offered discounts each time you said, "No we can't afford this," to the final price. If you haven't bought yet, be very, very cautious about the price and shop other brands! There is definitely much more affordable (thousands, thousands less!) that, yes, can clean your water! Lastly, today I was told the carbon does need replacing every 2-5 years depending on use. That will be checked and if needed replaced at no charge, due the impression all I would be replacing was salt for the rest of time. I do appreciate the gentleman to take care of it...this time. In the next 2-5 years, I am sure I will be paying the approximately $300 to carbon up again. I will update after the water test and carbon check.

I signed up in Home Depot for the free water testing. A representative came, was very professional and very personal. He did a very good job. I didn’t feel like he was trying to sell me anything. He was trying to show me some stuff and I made an educated decision to purchase the whole house filtration system. The installation guy knew what he was doing. He came out and put it in, answered any questions I had and kind of reeducated again.
We carry our own water just about everywhere we go now because when we stop to buy even like bottled water or filtered water, it totally does not taste well. Even some of the stuff we cook with and make tea, lemonade, it’s not the same. As far as showering, everyone noticed a difference that way. We have recommended RainSoft to other people.

We just moved in and drilled a well so we searched for a water treatment system. We set an appointment with a sales representative. He came, tested the water and did not leave until he has us committed to buy. We felt pressured. We wanted time to think about it but he wouldn't give us time. The installation team was nice though. We could tell the water's soft. But we were kind of disappointed because we turned in a list of references wherein there was a deal and if we did that, we would get something. But we never received a thing and never heard about it.
Our corporate Customer Service team reached out to the customer to follow up. The customer informed us that his installing dealer had addressed his concerns, and everything has been completed to his satisfaction.

I was approached in Home Depot by someone who asked if we would like to test our water. RainSoft sent someone over and tested the water. It determined that the water was hard and needed to be filtered. So we got a filter, the whole RainSoft system. When the installation technician came over, he impressed me a lot. He was really, really efficient, made suggestions and was right on the ball. We notice differences in the water and my wife’s hair. We can now drink the water from the tap but we still filter it anyway. Since it’s no longer hard water, taking a shower is better. My wife is happy as well.

Anything that he could not answer, he'd make a phone call and find out for us which was about me getting a veteran's discount. He was very knowledgeable with the product and he's a fantastic person. The person who installed it was a fantastic person too. Anything we asked, he answered. My wife said her hair is softer and I guess mine is too, since the system was installed. We began to research about water treatment systems because when we moved to this house, we could tell that the water was really bad. It was putting sod on our clothes when we're washing them and the soap doesn't lather. We knew there was something wrong. The representative that came for our consultation was really nice. He showed us what our water currently was, what Rainsoft could do to help, how it would help our clothes, and that we wouldn't have to buy so much soap and all that stuff. We purchased the big RainSoft unit. We use less soap now than we did before, and the little bit of soap we do use lathers really well. And the water definitely tastes better.

Their sales representative was a very polite and pleasant young man who described the product well. He unfortunately came a little bit late and I had something going on that evening, so we had a little bit of a time constraint but he tried real hard to get everything taken care of and get me out in time to be able to do what I needed to do then. The installation guy was again, a very pleasant and polite young man, and he did a good job, cleaned up well after himself and installed it well. The water tastes better and when I shower, it feels nice and slippery and not the hard water feeling anymore.

I have been with RainSoft for quite a few years. I called them to come up and take a look at it to repair it. I talked to the gentleman and the unit was like 25 years old which gave me good service but it wore out, basically. He presented himself very professionally. I liked what I'd seen. My quality water runs about 20-25 rains hardness and the system is reducing it very well. My only comment is they should have put the instructions on how to adjust the softness of water back. Why they ever took them out of either one of two manuals, the owners manual or the installation manual, is beyond me. That to me is very important. I already talked to the company down here in Columbus, Ohio and they're supposed to be sending me instructions on how to adjust that. The service man down there told me that the company had taken that out for some reason. And it's very critical that people know this because if you want soft water, depending on the softness of water you want, then it would be nice if they would tell you how to do that. And that's no longer in the instructions. But other than that, I'm totally sold on RainSoft. I would recommend it to anybody.

Their sales representative was very good. I got no qualms about him. The thing I regret is that I didn't have a chance to really research alternatives before he came to the house, and that was a mistake. Not on his part, but on our part. Their discussion and the experiments are very convincing. That's not an issue but I didn't have any basis to judge whether this is a good price to pay for something like this, and I wish I had researched first. A RainSoft sales rep walked up to me at Home Depot where I actually work and asked me if I wanted to have my water tested. I said, "Yeah I was thinking about that," so we setup an appointment and we had a gentleman come over. It was very interesting when we start finding out that the water we were drinking wasn't all that good. We don't drink the water. We had bottled water. And then when he showed us different things like how we wash our clothes, what chemicals are left behind and everything, it was really, really amazing and it really turned our heads and we said we just got to have this product installed and have the system in our house.
Long story short, we bought the one for the osmosis so that we can drink our water. We also have the water softener throughout the house. It didn't take that long to put it in and they were real neat about it. All the trenches they dug to bury everything, they put all the dirt where it belongs and left it like it was before they got there. And both guys were real friendly. I stood out there and watched what they were doing and they explained any type of questions I had. They told me how to put the salt in and that I really didn't have to mess around with the controls because they were already set.
They also told me about a couple different programs that they offered but I decided I didn't need those programs because I'm kind of handy, I know how to put salt in a canister and I know how to play with the things if I had to. Well, anyway, the first thing I noticed after having the system installed was that the glasses are clear and when we're taking a shower our body feels smooth and cleaner and then when we go to wash our car with the water now it doesn't streak like it did before. We don't have to buy bottled water any longer. We can now drink out of the sink and it tastes good. So we're very satisfied. In fact I tell people about RainSoft all the time. When I see people walking down the aisles at work, I’m even saying "hey you got a water softener at home?"

I called up Rainsoft and other companies, too, because I was looking to get one. The Rainsoft sales representatives were fast and very pushy. I called in the day and they wanted to come that night. Alice, the representative that came out for our consultation, was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with her. She was very sweet, very thorough, and she really was very astute in the whole business area of it. She gave us time to discuss whether we wanted it that particular night. It worked out very well. I would highly recommend her.
The installation man was very good. He was right there on the right time and did his job. He was very thorough. He called me out and went through everything with me. I had scheduled a lunch with an out of town person that day, and he didn’t bother my lunching at all. Since the installation, I have noticed less white deposits on my black appliances. So, that’s positive.
I think I’m allergic to the water, though. I have a rash on my arm. It itches. I’ve done some research. After I take a shower, I have to wipe it with an antiseptic wipe to get the water off. And then apply some kind of non-itching cream. So, I’m very upset over that. Spend that much money and then be allergic. It must be the salt in the water. It’s irritating my skin. I don’t know what to do about it other than not use the water softener.

I went in to my local Home Depot, and I asked them about a water softener because our system wasn't working. I've done a small test and it indicated that it was extremely hard. As soon as I contacted Home Depot, a person got in touch with me and they came out quickly. I purchased the EC4 series water treatment system from RainSoft. I had a very good, straightforward experience with the sales representative I consulted with. I told them what my needs were and the situation, and everything worked out fine. We worked through my home warranty system and got approval.
The installation team was pretty good. They were pretty fast although I might have wanted a little bit more instruction. They know what they're doing in terms of installation and operation but taking a couple of minutes to walk us through things might have been better. We did talk about some things but they had another appointment to get to. So I called someone to ask a question about what needs to be done with the system when I go on vacation. So anyway, it worked out okay. My wife seems to think the water’s much better.
I only have one other feedback. I did a survey for RainSoft and they said I would get a gift certificate for a local restaurant, but I've not been able to navigate through that system. It doesn't seem to work adequately enough to get me my $25 restaurant.com e-gift card. I may try that again now but I think that was a bit of a disappointment.

I live in Harmony, Florida and we have a lot of sulfur in the water... also it's a high mineral content. I didn't want to get into water softeners because I don't want salt in the systems because it also affects my blood pressure. So I decided to get the water conditioning system from RainSoft.
Rainsoft did a really good job. They were quick on it, gave me a good appointment. And the salesperson that was here was on time and very knowledgeable. Gave me the pros and cons of competing systems as well as theirs. So, it was kind of a no brainer to figure out which one would meet our particular needs, long term as opposed to short term. And the biggest selling point was the charcoal medium that Rainsoft uses and the other competitors don’t, which was a big surprise, that most of them use coconut husk as their basis for charcoal. But that has to be replaced every two years or so or sooner, versus what Rainsoft uses which is a product that really may take 10 years before it is considered total removal or replacement.
The installer was great. She was fantastic. We were really pleased. She walked us through the system, what she was gonna do, why certain recommendations were better. I thought we’d put it closer to the garage but because we didn’t want to lose water pressure on the upper room, she explained to us what’d be a better position for it. “Hey, if we go there, I can do it, but you may lose water pressure or we may have problems because of the irrigation lines.” There were six lines in that area. We don’t want to break one so that was kind of nice.
We're really happy. It was a fantastic experience and the quality of the product is fantastic. Especially in the shower, you can scrub your back, it doesn’t have minerals in it. Soap use is decreased significantly. The water's taste is better compared with other water systems (we've had water softeners before) and the fact that it works for all the water in the house, you can notice it in all the faucets, taps, porcelain, etc. The filtering capability of the RainSoft system made the water in the entire house almost bottle water quality.

I didn’t like the taste of the ice in our freezer. My husband didn’t care but also was concerned with all of the chlorine and the fluoride and all the stuff that’s in the water in the Atlanta system. I didn’t even want to take a shower and I have this wonderful Jacuzzi bathtub that I refused to get in, because I wanted to soak in it for about an hour or longer. Every time you take a shower or you take a bath, you absorb all the chemicals and everything in there.
So I was looking for a whole-house water system. I looked at a lot of different places, looking for one that was local. Then we found a thing at the Home Depot that said sign up for a free water analysis or some water testing. We signed up and the lady came out and tested our water. She showed us some wonderful things. The lady out there at RainSoft was very, very helpful to me. She directed me to Georgia Water Systems here (they were connected with RainSoft).
The guy who installed the system was very nice. We have our kitchen trash under the sink on a drawer that slides out, and that’s where you mount the tanks and it feeds the little faucet that I asked for - you get the most clean water for drinking and cooking out of that little faucet. So my husband and I were like “You gonna take the trash out? Where will we put it?” He found a way to do it without having to rearrange anything. It worked. He did it exactly right. And then there’s three tanks that go in the basement and we have a finished basement -- the grandkids play down there and all. He rigged a way to put it on the other side of the stairs so the kids wouldn’t come kick it or pull it or climb on it. That was very nice of him to do that. He was great. I posted him on Angie’s List, and I know he got some responses from it, from other people just reading my post.
Our water is much softer now. Much, much softer and my husband enjoys it. And I even enjoy a less hot shower. I enjoy it just warm, nice and warm. It seems to be really good and the water tastes good; the ice does not have a nasty, awful taste anymore. But I have a question about some of the products. Georgia Water Solutions gives you a whole houseful of cleaning items, shampoos and laundry detergent, dishwasher stuff. All this stuff free for five years. What are these little things that are inside a plastic case? It looks like a bar of soap, but there’s no identification of it at all.
