Somebody from RainSoft approached us and they left something with us that we should leave samples with outside the house. That was picked up by the company and then after about 20 days, they called that they would like to visit us. We were given a demo by a gentleman by the name of Ash and he was quite convincing. The installation was fantastic, very quickly done, and detailed. The work was very neat. Then Adam re-demonstrated the same thing Ash did to convince us that the system was still working and that follow-up was good.
However, there's one issue when the filters have to be changed. There are three filters and two have to be changed every year while the third one after the third year. It is not a very difficult job and I can do it myself but then I need a wrench or a special instrument to open up the thing. They're charging me $100 for one visit. When I complained about that, I was told that I have to come to Mississauga to get the little demonstration so that I could do it myself. That’s an overkill by the organization. They got the system installed and with their margins, it should be automatic for somebody to do it every year. In spite of that, I've already recommended three of my friends to them. It’s been two months now since we got the system and it has been working fine. The water is cleaned up and it doesn’t leave any marks or deposits, which were there earlier.

When I set up the in-home visit with RainSoft, the person who I talked to over the phone was very nice and I liked her but she could have explained a little bit more how long the visit was going to be. The person who came to my home was on time and he was very knowledgeable and had a lot of information. The whole process took longer than I expected, but besides that, everything else was fine. But during the installation, the plumbers who came out were a little messy with my yard and they could have done a better job. There was an outdoor faucet in the front and one in the back, and they gave me the wrong information as to which one was through the system and which one wasn’t so I was watering my plants with the wrong one. They were also supposed to put in another faucet in the back that wasn’t going through the filtration system and they didn’t.
The gentleman who tested the water told me that both of the faucets were going through the system but when I had someone else come back out, I was told that one was regular water and the other one was going through the filtration system so there was a lot of confusion. They said that they were going to come and fix the issues because the city has to come out and do the inspection, but they can't set it up until those things are fixed. Other than that, my hair and our skin are much softer since our RainSoft system was installed and our dishes look clean, too.

I did a water survey in Home Depot where one of the guys had an iPad asking me questions about my water. Then one of them contacted me to send a RainSoft guy out here to do a demonstration and tell me about the product, which came out as excellent. Our sales guy was super nice and we would even take him out fishing with us. We did a smaller faucet here on our kitchen sink and routed a line to our refrigerator. The installer was very quiet but there was also a little bit of a language barrier. The only downfall of RainSoft was they had contacted me two weeks after they did the installation to set up a test appointment to make sure everything was running smoothly and I set up the appointment but then nobody notified me that they weren’t coming and nobody showed up. Otherwise, it was an excellent experience and although I haven’t noticed a difference as far as cooking, the water tastes better now.

We’ve had Rainsoft’s services for a long time. The installation was fantastic, and they were knowledgeable and gave me some information. They were very cautious and careful with where they put the system and how they put it in because they ran it from our basement all the way upstairs to the kitchen, and they put it in the laundry room, which was right below our kitchen. Everything went very well and we've always been very pleased with it. We live in Longmont, Colorado and the water here in Longmont has always been excellent water. But, the one thing that we noticed the most was the softness of our water after the first installation. Our water was softer and there wasn't any more of an aroma of the chemicals that they put in the water for those purposes. That's always been gone right away. We had a separate little tap on the sink for drinking purposes which was great.
They came out several months ago and they put in new filters underneath our sink. The filters were there for our drinking water and unfortunately, our system was so old that they didn’t carry the filters anymore for it. So, they put in a whole system for us. It was a little pricey for us but we understood over these years. They were very knowledgeable and they gave us a credit for a filter we had that they no longer used. And when they put the new system in underneath the sink, they were really great and they cleaned up after so it was very good service.

When we sold our house and bought a new one, it didn't have a water softener system so I called RainSoft and told them to bring me one. I've known them for 30 years. The people at Elk City where I bought the water softener from installed it for me. Everything's great.

I have an older reverse osmosis system. The dealer that sold it to me has gone under, the new dealer is about an hour from my house. I had them send me filters and they told me that it was easy to change the filters. Not so! The picture that they sent me does NOT look like the unit that I have. They want hundreds of dollars just to come out here! I am mortified!!! DO NOT BUY FROM RAINSOFT!!! I am being ripped off!
Thank you for making us aware of your concerns. We will be contacting your local dealer.

We moved from Wisconsin to Oklahoma and I know that Norman has the worst water record in the country. Now that my son, who has cancer, is living with me exposing him to that nasty water freaked me out. But now I have peace of mind having RainSoft installed in my house. Their sales rep was amazing. He should be cloned. That's kind of how to make the world a better place. Now I can drink the water and it doesn't smell and I don't feel as if I'm congested all the time. I got a system that is delivering and I feel mentally safe.
So we got from RainSoft the purifier that goes underneath the kitchen sink. And then I bought another product that goes in the garage. It filters but it doesn't do the final filtration. It takes out a lot of the impurities but not to the degree that the filter that's underneath my sink. While the installation team they sent was alright a little more communication would have been good.
The one thing they did that I didn't like was putting in the water system in the living room. They had an air return vent cover it up but still the water coming into the house was not really convenient. And when they put the thing back they raised it rather than putting it at a level with the floor where it originally was. Fortunately I've got furniture to cover it up. Other than that I'd like them to follow up with the water testing like six months or one year or something of that nature. While I'm sure it's fine I'd like it to be where I can verify what I think so that I would know it is actually true. Overall I don't see any other product out there aside from RainSoft that is going to give me the water quality I was looking for. For that I would definitely recommend them.

I’ve had my system for over 2 years. When the rep came to present, I was pleased with her presentation; however, I informed her I was not ready to make an investment. She left. About 20 minutes later, there was a knock — it was the installer. I reminded him what I told her but decided to go ahead with the installation. 1 year later, I get a call asking “how I liked the order”. I NEVER RECEIVED AN ORDER. I was basically called a liar. Finally, they sent me an order form. I submitted the form with specific items. I did not receive ANY of the items I selected. Recently, I called because I’m out of some items. The man said, I had to submit the order form. “We won’t send anything without the form”. I’m struggling to find the form. Finally, I called today, and left a voicemail. After reading all the great comments, I didn’t want to be the bad, but this is MY EXPERIENCE.

We were concerned with the smell of the water in Jacksonville so we set up a consultation with RainSoft and it was easy. Their rep that came was thorough and knowledgeable and we ended up getting the big system that goes out and circulates through the whole house. We also got the water tap and the one that attaches to the dryer. The installation was very quick and easy. And now our water doesn't smell like chlorine or chemicals and it tastes a lot better. Everything that they showed in the presentation was spot on.

We've had our the RainSoft water conditioning system for years. We have two carbon filters and a retention tank, and also an RO system in the kitchen. We had a Culligan system before, but they went downhill. We were at Home Depot and saw that they had RainSoft systems, and we found the dealer who handles it. I never had any issue with their reps. They were nice and polite. Plus, they understood what the system was. Our water is a lot better after getting the system installed because where we are at, there's a lot of sulfur and iron in the water. When Harvey came, it destroyed everything and I called RainSoft to reset everything again. Their tech went in there and did it. Boom, boom, boom! I'm back in business again. They're very reputable and I would recommend RainSoft to all my friends and anybody.

I bought the water purification system from RainSoft. Setting up for consultation was good and I liked it. I asked for a demonstration and a sales person came and showed us all the different kinds of results and then we decided to go for it. The installation was pretty much smooth and it took only a couple of hours. The installer was quick and knowledgeable. He showed us how to change the filters and the soil as well. With RainSoft, we can feel the difference in the showers and when we wash our hands. It was a really smooth and hassle free experience, and I hope that the after sales service will be nice, too.

I wanted better drinking water at home and wanted to get rid of the smell. We set up a consultation with RainSoft which was easy and their rep was very informative. She demonstrated and let us drink some of the water through the little bit mini-RainSoft thing and she answered some of our questions. We made the decision it was even better to go with them. We got a water purification system for the whole house and had a great installer who was very knowledgeable. He helped decide where to put the system in the house since our space is limited. He put everything right, nice, and neat, and it looks very good. We've had RainSoft for 9 months now and the water tastes better and the laundry seems cleaner. I'm very happy with our system and I'd recommend it to anybody who would like better drinking water.

We bought the house two and a half months ago, and our water didn’t taste very good. We're also renting a house right now that's two blocks away, and it was built in the same era, and it has some galvanized pipes by the kitchen. The water's not good, so we do bottled water. If we're going to buy a house, I wanted to have good water so we stopped at Home Depot and I wanted to see a whole house water filtration system. I signed up for a deal and the lady named Alex came out and did the demonstration. She showed the sediment at the bottom of the test tube and stopped after a while. We tasted the water that came from the RainSoft system she had there and we were like, "Okay, let's do it," and signed with them. They tested it sure enough and we ended up buying the system.
Alex was very knowledgeable and knew this stuff well. We had a good interaction. We bought the whole home system and I would also like to have the under-sink system put in now as well. They should give us a coupon or put a statement where we could still have it installed for the $400 up to two years. She also said that they could plumb in our coffee maker similar to the refrigerator with ice and water. She said they could run the plumbing for that into the counter on the same wall and do that. We're ready to do that in the near future. However, we weren't impressed with the installation team. They put the system in and the fellow that came out to do the install told us that we needed to purchase some anti-siphon valves from them for $5 apiece. So, I gave them $15 for three of them. It was reasonable but that was not something that we should have to be buying and it was strange.
After the installation, we had a situation where the inspector for the city came out and she failed the installation because she couldn't verify that there was a p-trap. There was actually an exhaust panel down near the floor so you could see the p-trap. And the guy that did the installation was frustrated over it and so we were in the middle. We didn’t know what he knew and we didn't fail him. But, he wasn't really impressive for us. He then came back out and looked at it and he spotted the problem and inspector came out to inspect it and it passed. RainSoft sent us a check for the parts that we bought and made it all right with that so we didn't end up paying for those things.
Something that’s odd, however, is that when they come out and they do the install on the system, they fill up the salt reservoir, but they don't really fill up the tank. It's half full or maybe a little less than half full. It hasn't gone down any but when they come out they would bring it up to fill it up at least two thirds or three fourths. Other than that, we are happy with the system, and it is working really well. The salt level has not gone down any. I would like to see if we could schedule to have the under-sink system put in in another week or two and that would be fine. The install could have been a little smoother and the salt container could have been filled up. The experience wasn't perfect but it was good.

I got a call saying RainSoft wanted to come over and it was free. The rep came over, tested the water in the house, and demonstrated what's in the water. The first time the guy came over, he turned away because it was just me and my girlfriend was at work at that time. He wanted both of us there in our apartment. We bought the water softener and it was like a reverse osmosis thing. There were two people who came during installation, the installer and the manager, and they didn’t take long. We've had the system for a few months now and the taste of the water is different. The pressure of the water is a bit less in the upper bathroom but still not bad. My girlfriend has sensitive skin, so it's more beneficial for her.

We lived in the settlements before in our last house and there were a lot of build-ups really quick. Then we bought this brand-new built house and I wanted to save the new plumbing in there. I had my coffee pot cleaned and in less than a week, it was picked up with stuff all along the inside. So, I knew something was getting our stuff dirty. I heard about Rainsoft from the internet or TV and we were looking to get a water treatment system, and they showed up at our door. The sales rep knocked on our door, and my wife answered. I didn’t have to call anybody, so it was easy. The representative came to set up, and then he told us the time that he can come back and I said, "Sure." He then came back and did his whole presentation. He was great and didn't seem pushy at all. My four-year-old loved his presentation more than we did and we were really sold because we knew we wanted one. He knew what he was doing and didn't feel like a salesman.
We purchased the whole house and the reverse osmosis filters underneath the sink. The installation was good, and I like where they put the system. I had some questions but they called me and discussed where everything was going. The whole of my granite countertop was drilled perfectly, and they didn't break anything. They did a better job cleaning up the filter out and they had a trench and had to remove the bark to do that, and they put the bark back getting it there. They also did a better job than the builders and did a good job cleaning up. Now, there’s no build up anywhere on the coffee pot and it’s easier to wash a car.

Two guys came for the installation and they were very personable and I enjoyed interacting with them. The system I purchased came with bath soap, hand soap, dish soap and laundry soap. Everything is good and I noticed that there aren’t a lot of hard water stains anymore, and the water tastes better. They also sent me an email about getting a $25 gift certificate at a restaurant, but I don’t know how. We purchased a RainSoft water filtration and we love it. HOWEVER STAY AWAY FROM THEIR LENDER Synchrony Bank. Their fixed interest rate jumps from $14 after one month to $54.58 so a monthly payment of $82 less than $30 goes to your loan. The guys that installed it were super with no issues. And anytime there is a problem, they call me back and I get a person when I call, which is really important. I don’t get that computer anymore. However, they accidentally busted one of my sprinklers, but I've had my landscaper fix it for $15. Also, I think I need to change my under-the-sink filter. I’m getting ready to put up a new house and my water has a lot of calcium. I was in Home Depot and they had some information about RainSoft. The sales rep was wonderful. He did the water test and we setup the appointment for the installation. The man who originally was supposed to come out had a family emergency so the guys who own and run the franchise came out and put the system in themselves. They were wonderful to work with and got most of the work done on that Saturday. They couldn’t hook it in to the septic system so they came back on Monday and dug the trench. After the system was installed, there were less scum and sediment on anything I use. I have to keep turning down my water heater because the water warms up much quicker. RainSoft is great and gets the job done. They also were really good about explaining everything.

After we sent the samples for testing, we received a call from RainSoft asking us to book an appointment for someone to come over to our house, explain the product, and review our options to improve the quality of our water. They explained how the water texture would change if we were to install the filter and the bathtub that uses this water will require less cleaning, which was informative. We bought the water filtration and air UV system and an installer came over to install them. They explained how the system worked, which was helpful. I have known RainSoft for a long time. We have purchased 3 water filters, a unit they put in the basement, and then something under the sink. However, the basement water system had been getting a lot of problems. Every year, I got less and less water pressure. It then completely stopped at the end of the year. I thought the pipe might be broken, or it might be a shallow water issue. I put bypass water which made everything okay for a while, and then I found out our unit is not working. So I called RainSoft and they told us a technician will come to my home.
The unit has been replaced and so far, the new system is good. Although I have a lifetime warranty, they said it only covers the bottom unit and not everything. They also told me I can replace the bottom unit but it will only work temporarily. But it doesn't make sense because you will have water problems and you will have to spend money again. So I spent $2200 on a new unit. I don’t have any option. Right before, we buy water from outside and much money was saved.
But it's hard to pull out the filter every year and pay $33 each before it changed to $70 plus tax, and the cost gets higher every year. While some people said we don't need it for the whole house, that we only need RainSoft for drinking water. But we've already spent so much money and we get to have clean and no smell water, nothing skin soft though. For us, that's what's good.

I couldn't have been happier when we had our system installed. Rainsoft had not only given us clean water, they also supplied us with a years worth of laundry products, kitchen and bathroom soaps, along with dish soap. They also promised free salt, bleach and servicing for the first three years because we paid almost 9k cash.
However, within the first year they started to renegotiate on the salt & bleach deal. Understandable, however at the first sign of trouble with the system, within the first 18 months, they wanted to charge us for servicing. With contract in hand we argued our case between the service men (@ our home) & the manager via phone. Our system was serviced that time. Because of them trying to renegotiate the terms of the contract from the beginning we opted to just purchase the salt & bleach ourselves and avoid the headache of calling them on it.
NOW the nightmare really begins, within 6 months we were having trouble with the system again! This time when we call we are informed by Rainsoft Corporation that the dealer whom we purchased our system from has gone bankrupt! Rainsoft then give me the numbers to the next two closest dealers, both who ate over 100 miles away & want hundreds of dollars to come & repair our system. That was out of our reach financially at the time. Since then we've had to replace every appliance in our home. The Rainsoft Corporation has cost is almost 20k between the price of the shoddy system, & the cost to repair or replace everything in our home that uses water! SHAMEFUL! DO NOT TRUST RAINSOFT!?? They took our Money & left us out in the cold!??
Thank you for making us aware of your concerns. We will be contacting your local dealer.

He tested the water and talked to me about Rainsoft. I enjoyed his stay and showing the water test was a big sales point. Then he talked to me about how I should pay for the system, which was either in full or over a period of a couple of years with no interest or make payments anyway I wanted to do it. So he was very forthcoming in demonstrating the process to me.
I purchased the water purification system for my entire home plus the reverse osmosis system for a part of my water system. Their installation team made an appointment to come by and when they came, it didn't take them long to install the system as I thought it would. They were very professional and told me exactly what they were doing. I showed them the parts of my home they needed to see in order to do it and it went well and very smoothly. Since having the system, the water tastes different and better. My skin also feels different after showering or washing and when I wash my dishes. I like the differences I see and I don’t have the chlorine odor that I used to have from the city water. Everything worked like I was told it would and I would do it again. The RainSoft sales rep was very knowledgeable and she did a number of tests to demonstrate the need for some water treatment. But she came on a little bit strong. We agreed to make the purchase, but then they did the follow-up and the installation the next day. And they have three days to determine to like back out of the agreement. Most companies of our state have some kind of a time to either work with you or just cancel the deal and get out with no obligation. If we happened to decide that it wasn't for us, we would have then committed to some kind of fee for them coming out to install the equipment. And that part of it was not quite as professional as the rest of the presentations and it was the only negative aspect of the whole experience.
They came on with some benefits if we'd make the commitment that evening, and I felt rushed. Everything could have been fine without having to come on a little bit strong because the product would sell itself. We had done some comparison with some other equipment that had also had a lifetime warranty on it, and they were a few hundred dollars higher. But I understand people sell and how to get a sale and overall, I really didn't have a regret that we bought the system from them.
RainSoft's product was pretty good, and the installation team did a nice job. My wife had some dry skin especially on her legs that she has routinely put some lotions to help the dryness. And she thought that she had seen quick results of her skin on her legs feeling better. But I really wasn't surprised because I had been exposed to soft water before and I felt that there was going to be some positive results out of it. Also, my wife works and I'm retired so I'm kind of the house husband that does the laundry and assigned to clean up around the house. So, I know and I see the positive effects. We're not having the mineral build up around the faucets and the shower. Also, we needed less detergent and the clothes feel softer. I would recommend RainSoft to a friend.

What item she wasn’t sure about, she didn’t have a clue how to respond with the questions and didn't offer to find out about the item. The installation team, particularly Adam, was great. Plus, the electrician and the plumber who were sent out were dynamite guys. The water seems softer and as presented, it doesn’t leave spots on dishes and glasses. There are no rings in sinks, tubs or toilets. The product is great, but the people involved behind it are terrible. Carolina Water Systems and Aqua Finance created a debacle and I sent them a cashier's check to pay them off. I was livid on the details, called and went line-by-line talking to three different people, including the last person who said she was the sales representative that didn’t speak English very well.
They claimed they called me 20 to 21 times between 9/26 and 10/3 to get verification. I found out because they haven't contacted me about the supposed verification of the installation. I contacted them and they were using the two wrong phone numbers given to them by the distributor, Carolina Water Systems. I'm being charged daily interest on a simple interest loan and the rep didn't want to hear it. They could have gotten on the internet and found out my phone number to verify. They were billing me from September 11 saying the contract started that I have no knowledge of. Ten days ago, I was told I would receive a billing in the mail that will be delivered on the tenth of the month, payable by the 1st.
I got three envelopes from Aqua Finance on the 16th. One of them was dated the 4th of October and said that Carolina Rain System assigned us to Carolina Water System. The followup one was dated two days later on the 6th and it said that the paperwork was sold to someone else. The third one was an invoice dated 10/10, due 10/11 and I received it on 10/16. The moment I got it, it's past due, which is not right. Also, from Carolina Water Systems, the young lady who was filling the products was very technical, which was fine, but when it came down to talking about the money issue, I could never get a price fixed on what it was. It went on and on. I sent a letter stating that they will never be referred by us to anybody. I will recommend to my customers both in North and South Carolina that they rethink their position with Carolina Water Systems and Aqua Finance if they're even thinking about it.

Our pipes had some gunk when it was replaced so my husband wanted to get it tested out for water treatment. The sales reps of RainSoft called and we set up a time then a guy came out. It was an easy process. He was friendly and thorough and did a good job in his little presentation. We got the double system for the whole house and the installers were friendly as well. They explained the system and cleaned up well. The water tastes a lot better now and the water pressure in the pipes has gone down since the installation, it’s not as strong as before. We like the water soft, and overall it is really good.

I always wanted a water softening system and previous research had opened my eyes to the effects of hard water. Setting up with RainSoft reps was quick and easy. I just asked about RainSoft and the rep put me in touch with the right people and I purchased a full soft water system from them. The guy who came to my home showed me the system and what hard water looks like and what it does. He installed it very quickly and he cleaned up after himself. He was very thorough when explaining to me how it worked and he wasn’t pushy at all. He was also very knowledgeable and a nice guy. He was all around informative. I moved to a new house and I was searching for a new treatment for my water. I compared RainSoft with Kinetico and with another water treatment system. Then, a friend recommended RainSoft to me. I saw RainSoft was installing in their house so I went there to check it out. The consultation I had with the sales rep at RainSoft was good and he was very knowledgeable. He explained everything that I needed to know. He had a presentation and a water test that he did at my home so it helped us to decide what will be the best equipment to put on our house, and that made me purchase the most advanced system that they have.
The installers did a good work with the installation that day. They were quick and didn’t leave any dirt in my house. With RainSoft, my water is awesome now and mother-in-law who visited is enjoying a lot of the water also. RainSoft is a good product and with good quality. The price is also competitive with the others. Also, the warranty and the service that I got with the tech person who sold it plus the installation made all the difference to choose RainSoft.

I just moved to the area and the water was really hard so I wanted to look into softer water. My son called the RainSoft sales rep, who came out and was very good. He pretty much sold us on the product. He was very knowledgeable of the tests that he conducted and he walked us through the pricing modules. We weren't able to get the one that he was promoting, but we got a lesser value and it's definitely something that would accommodate our budget. Also, the installation team was on time. Even the city inspector came by and did an inspection once the system was installed. The installers finished late in the evening, which was better for us. The difference in our water was very noticeable after installation and it seems to be a good system. I just wish that the supplies that we were given as a gift will be able to last for the time frame promised. It would be great if there was any way to get an additional supply.

We recently changed the RainSoft unit that we already had. We’ve had it for about 31 and a half years and it was no longer making the water soft. We had an excellent rep who came over and sat down with us and gave us our options. And we spent a decent amount of time doing that, and then we decided that we wanted to have a new unit put in. The installation went very smoothly. When the installer got here, he had all the equipment that he needed to put a new unit in, and he didn't have to make another trip. Dominic, the rep who had come out initially, recontacted us within a week to find out how everything was working. RainSoft was very efficient, and we had a very good experience.

You can tell there's something in the water that's not quite right in our area. We came from a well system, where we had multiple problems with iron and rust in the bathrooms. We just bought a new house and we had been thinking about something that was going to prevent that from happening in the new house. The lady from RainSoft came out and talked to us about everything that was going on with the water.
The rep had multiple little bottles. She was showing what kind of contaminants were on the water. She tested our refrigerator, the sink, the bathroom and other multiple sources. She explained what chemicals she was using and she's like, "You can get this tested at Walmart. It's just the pH." She was telling me how to test the water myself because I wanted to do that, just to look at the water after she tested it. And she's like, "Would you drink this?" I was like, "No. I would not." She was, "Well, you drink it every day. This is yours." And another one I got was she took a bottled water and tested it. I was like, "No. I won't drink that." She was, "Well, you drink it every day. This is your bottled water." And I was like, "That's nice." That got me thinking. I may be a little paranoid about it and she goes, "It's not bad. It's just stuff that's in the water. That's all."
I had 1000 questions for her. I wanted to know about the financing, I wanted to know what the components of the system were and I remember on that day, she had an answer for me for everything that we asked. It was very educational. When the city water runs through the RainSoft system, it takes out a lot of that bleach and that fluoride and those other contaminants that they put in to make the water a little cleaner. That was the selling point for me. I never understood what goes into filtering a water in a water treatment plant, until she came over and explained to us how that happens. She definitely showed me visually what was the in the water.
After the cleaning and having the system installed, there is a drastic difference. You can tell when you just take a shower. The water that comes out, it makes you feel cleaner. The taste of the water coming right out the tap, it's clean and refreshing especially here in Florida, that's not normal. We have hard water in this location. Water is not that precious, especially when you get it from the city because they have run so much fluoride through it and that's another thing she was mentioning as well. But it, unfortunately, gives it a weird taste, or it does something to the water that's not overall healthy for us.
The whole system cost us about $6000 and it was worth it to me. I own the house so having the system, which comes with a lifetime guarantee, added value to the home. If I sell the home in a later date, I actually make my money back. It's literally an investment for me, rather than a cost. The way that I looked at it, it was another selling point. As long as I keep up with the maintenance, it has a lifetime guarantee for it. I've already recommended Rainsoft to a bunch of people.

We purchased the water softener for drinking water and the air filter. The installation team was friendly and knowledgeable with what they were doing. They did their job. Now, our house smells a lot fresher because of the air filter and our water tastes good. The only thing is that when I went to Home Depot I was told that I would get $20. So when the first rep came he gave us a gift cert, something to fill out that when the RainSoft person came that they would give us something to send off by mail. Be aware of what you are getting into!!! First this is a great product and works as designed. No complaints there. It's a wonderful addition to any home. BUT the customer service and maintenance that needs to be done good luck. Knowing what I know now I would have forgone getting this system. I have had the system for a little over a year now so it is time for regular maintenance. As with anything it's only as good as it's maintained.
Well in July a service rep was supposed to come out and replace the filters and check the system. After 2 cancellations by the company they finally show up on the 16th of October. Not only did they come at a time that was not agreed upon (3pm they called at 11am and said they are at our home) but we were not home so nothing could be done which is why we said 3pm!!! Finally they show back up 2 hours after 3 pm which was the agreed time to do the service. This is after the system has all but stopped working and several phone calls were made to get somebody to come check the system. So this is the customer service end which is horrible. Every time it was rescheduled it was another month away before they could do it as I was told only 1 service person comes in the Wilmington 1 day a week. Fine but if you cancel on me then I should be next on the list not put at the end.
If the system breaks down or gets clogged or any type of problem good luck getting it fixed in a timely manner. For the price paid for everything you would think whoever is running this business would be all about the customers. Seeing as when you have a bad experience like this you lose faith in the company as a whole. All in all my best recommendation for getting this system would be to look elsewhere and check the customer service where they can actually assist you when needed and not just leave you hanging. Customer service goes a long way in my book and I am willing to pay more as long as I know being a customer the company will do what it can to keep my business and be fair in dealings. This company is far from it and hopefully I can save people from going through this headache we have been through.

The sales representative that came out was very nice. He said they won't dig up our yard and that it would be a lift and tuck thing. That was a lie though. They have since corrected everything, but we had all kinds of problems with the installation.
They first tried to put it in the garage and somehow cut the gas line. Then they broke the water sprinkler lines and we lost water to the house. It was a big mess and it took over a week to correct. They had two young guys working on stuff without a mature working individual. My husband had to get out there to show them what the problem was and what was needed to fix it. The young men were nice though. They refunded part of our money, but since the machine costs over six grand, they could have given back more than $300. Especially since my husband was out there working. Their customer service didn't try and hide from the issue and they took my phone calls. Plus, they called me back.

Since having their system, the water tastes better and the shower is good so it's 100% better than before. We drink a lot of water in this house, and it’s a huge difference.
We don't have the best credit and we were actually quite surprised when we got approved for our system. We were very happy for the approval and had every intention of making the payments. We figured that it's well worth it. However, after RainSoft had approved us and had their system installed, the finance company that RainSoft used called us a few days later. They said that they're sorry but they don't like our credit and there’s the fact that we were late on the mortgage payments, so, they're going to come and get the system back. It was humiliating to have to talk to our team guy that came out. He was coming out to do something and had to be the bearer of bad news to schedule somebody to come and have the system out. That was not fun and we had an issue with the way that was handled.
In the end, they gave us a couple of weeks to catch up on our mortgage, which we're still working on and we’re almost there. We have a couple of closings this week which can make us catch up on the mortgage. We have to prove that the mortgage was caught up so that we could make a payment with RainSoft. We'd love to keep their system but we're not sure if they're going to let us. There’s a bit of a disconnection between the services itself. So far, I’m still getting used to the water because when I take a shower, the feeling is different but good.
The only thing that I got a little upset about was that the interest is way too high with the finance company that RainSoft was using. It’s 17% and this should have been disclosed from the beginning. I would rather get my own loan or just pay it off upfront because right now, my payments are $133, and $100 a month is just pure interest. It is really bad. The demo was a little bit more lengthy than expected, but as someone in the medical field I was very intrigued. Warranty wise compared to the other companies is by far worth it to me for the price.
I read another company voids warranty with chlorine which is every household. Anyways I absolutely would never trade my clean water for anything. It's important for me especially because it's what my children drink. I have recommended it to patients who have had surgery or high blood pressure and they have had nothing but good things to say to me. The RainSoft installer was a good, young man. He explained everything before he installed, and it took him four to five hours to have it done the same day. He also asked if we had any questions at the end of the install. Two weeks later, another technician inspected and did a walk-through. Came to find out, we had too much water pressure going into our house. He said that the inflow was going to blow the system sooner or later and that they should have checked our incoming water pressure. The system's only rated at 40 psi but we were getting 85 psi from the city. So, he put a regulator on it and slowed it down to 45 psi. It’s nice that there's always somebody that comes out to double check on the work.
It took us a while to get used to the taste of the water. We were going through washing machines once a year because of the build-up and the hard water system but now everything seems to be better. Clothes are softer and shampoos are lasting longer. It's been a good, whole different experience. I'm satisfied with the water but I'm not satisfied with the air because they told me they would bring us the filters the following week. It's been almost nine weeks and they said they're running behind. They didn't give me any indication of when it was going to be done. I’m using my own filters that I purchased at Home Depot. They came out, didn’t take too long to do it, explained what we need to do about how to put the salt in, and how often we have to check it. We’ve only just had the house a short while and we knew that it’s healthier to drink water with less heavy metals, contaminants and other chemicals in it. We’re happy with the system and it seems to work well.

We bought the filtration system that is under the sink in the kitchen and the installation team was on time and explained what they were doing.

I bought my first house in Nov 1999. The very first major purchase was a RainSoft water softener. All went well for the first 3 years. Then everything started to malfunction. No worries it has a lifetime warranty. Imagine everything that malfunctioned was not covered. In 2 years I have paid over $1000.00 for repairs and the treatment system is still not working.
Please shop around. You will see that RainSoft has a lot of good reviews but they are all new customers and have not experienced the true company yet. Your service calls will be $99.00 and another $160.00 for the filters. This is where they tell you your system isn’t working. They will try to sell you a upgrade system, which is thousands more dollars. They will charge you 365.00 to fix and the problem will still exist. Year after year it will be the same song and dance. I am from Columbus Ohio and I am and will get on every social network to help educate people on this company. Please don't fall victim.
Thank you for making us aware of your concerns. We will be contacting your local dealer.

There's a lot of impurities in our water and air. Once we started looking into RainSoft, I came and went through all the materials and demonstrations. They were excellent and very professional as far as everything they did was concerned. I bought the top of the line which has everything in it for the air purification as well as the water purification for the drinking water and for the laundry. During installation, their team was very professional and appeared to know exactly what they were doing, no exempts or buts. Since having the system, the laundry comes out cleaner, the drinking water tastes better and we detect the freshness in the air. My nose also stays clearer and it's been an unbelievably good experience. I would highly recommend the system particularly to people with kids or anybody with any breathing problem.

We had the house we're living in built in 1992. The water was hard. It's a well and there are all kinds of rocks. We drilled through them to get to the well. That's why we began researching for water treatment systems. The first one we purchased from Rainsoft was a great big white one with a big black on its back. And we've just purchased the second one. Since having the RainSoft system, everything comes out nice and soft after washing. The dishes also come out of the dishwasher clean. Everything seems to work very well.
The installation team was from Gatineau, but now we're dealing with RainSoft in Ottawa, down off the Montreal Road. Scheduling an appointment with RainSoft was very easy and they've always been very polite and nice. The only thing is trying to find the office down in that little business. The numbers don't seem to get follow-ups and one after another, they jumped from one street to the next. We always find them but it takes a while to do so.

We were looking for a water treatment system because the water here in Punta Gorda, Florida is terrible and hard. It's like taking a bath with a bunch of rocks. It couldn't get us soapsud either. We then bought Rainsoft's water softener and their sales rep was excellent. He came to check the old softener that was here, which was cheaper at Home Depot, and he explained to us the difference, the efficiency and the better operation of the Rainsoft one. Since having Rainsoft there has been a 95% difference. We're very happy with them. Everything has been just as they said it would be. I'm very very pleased and very satisfied.

We were not happy with the taste of our water. There was stuff in it that shouldn't have been. I was walking through Home Depot and I saw Rainsoft's water sample mailing thing. So I did that and RainSoft contacted me after they got the sample. The sales representative was good and very thorough. He seemed very knowledgeable and he convinced us to get their product. We purchased the whole-house filter for our condo and we got the ozone thing for the washing machine. The CleanStart puts ozone into the water and it's kind of weird that you don't need to use detergent. My husband tells me everything smells better though.
The installation team screwed up a little bit. You're supposed to only use cold water with the CleanStart on the washing machine. And in the beginning, the guy inadvertently reconnected the hot water to it. There are two different models. One is for high-efficiency washers and one is for regular washers. The guy put the regular washer on and they weren't sure whether that was the correct one. So they sent another guy out who knew a little more about the product. And he was ready to put the other one. I have a high-efficiency machine and he was ready to put it in but he watched it go through a cycle and he thought that this one was fine and he only used cold water so he connected the cold water to it. But we got it all put in correctly in the end and it's all fixed now.

I already had RainSoft several years ago but this time when I bought and went with them, it was through a deal that they had through Home Depot. I filled out a questionnaire on the water and then they came out and did a water sample. I got the RainSoft product that has two tanks. One has the water softener and the filter system that treats the whole house and then one for the drinking water that has the three filters and does the reverse osmosis, and the alkaline system. The installation team showed up when they're supposed to and they scheduled it in my time. They were very nice, helpful, and had done a good job. Several of the features that they pointed out are working and doing good. The water in our house now is softer and I'm satisfied with this product. I've been using it for two months now. I've already recommended it to my friends as well.
I like this product except for the fact that I was promised 5 years of the detergents and shampoos but I haven't received anything. I called and we've had three runarounds on it and we still haven't got any product. The only way we can get any of the product is to buy as much as they give us and that wasn't what was explained.

RainSoft exceeded my expectations. I love the water and everything having to do with the filtration system has been great. Before RainSoft, we have absolutely terrible water down here. We picked the date and time for the consultation that worked and that scheduling process was handled very professionally. The sales rep who came here, Glenda, was fabulous. By the time she left, I felt I had a friend. She was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the product even though she must have been fairly new in the ropes. There were a couple of questions I had that she had to call somebody to get answers but she got them right away. I got the full water filtration system with the reverse osmosis feature.
The team who installed it was prompt, friendly, and professional. They were also confident and knowledgeable. We're challenged because we live in a condominium and there wasn't room inside the unit to put it anywhere. The RainSoft team came up with a plan for putting it on my porch and they came prepared for that eventuality. The owner of the company came in advance of the install appointment just to check it out and make sure. When the installation team showed up, they had everything they needed to install it on my porch. It was done at the end of a Friday. I live at Carolina beach and they had to drive to Wilmington. That's a terrible time to drive into Wilmington because they had to get through all the traffic.
About an hour later, I got a call from the primary installer saying that there's an O-ring that he needed to get for my system and that Glenda was going to drop it by the next day but he felt better if he brought it back and put it on that night. He had to drive back to that traffic just to put that ring on the system. It was a job that took him less than a minute. The quality of the water is everything I dreamed of. It is absolutely delicious to drink. I have neighbors who come over here to visit and they bring an empty bottle so they can fill it up with my water and take it back home. I take water with me from the house wherever I go now instead of a bottled water. I don't even like bottled water anymore. It also helped with my hair and skin. My laundry comes out feeling really clean and fresh too. The water that comes out of the RainSoft system is outstanding.

Two weeks after that another person came out and he explained other stuff and tested the water again to make sure the system is working.

We love our RainSoft water treatment system. Over the years, we've had wells and Pumpco’s water, but we weren’t entirely satisfied with the water. In addition, my tenant has Crohn’s disease and I have two or three other diseases. At Home Depot, my husband agreed to have a water test. The sales rep of RainSoft asked to come in and test our water and set up an appointment with me, and we followed through. He was a very friendly and knowledgeable young man, and he spent a lot of time answering our questions and talking to us about RainSoft. Then we purchased the whole water conditioning system.
The installers were very accommodating and personable. They also answered questions nicely and we liked them a lot. RainSoft gave us soap that we use it on our hair and body, but it’s hard getting used to the fact that getting the soap off takes forever, which means that the water is extremely soft. Also, Pumpco’s water would turn my sink and shower yellow while RainSoft's water does not. We've had a great experience with RainSoft and I have recommended them to friends.

We wanted to prevent that in our new house and also, due to health concerns and we'd like to have filtered water for baby bottles, we considered getting RainSoft. They had Saturdays for a consultation and they're also flexible with the time so, setting up an appointment was easy. Their rep came out and he was friendly, knowledgeable and he took us through the water testing. I didn't feel awkward with him because there's always that awkward point you'd experience when any sales person tells you the price.
We got the conditioning system and then the reverse osmosis under the sink as well. The installer was very wonderful, very nice and he cleaned up after himself. He was also responsive because we initially had a little bit of a leak and he was great about trying to get over to our place to fix it. We haven't had any troubles with the system since though. Now, we use less soap, which is good, in the laundry and in the shower but there's just as much suds. It's a fine work. Also, the water tastes better. RainSoft system is worth the investment.

Home Depot had a RainSoft display that would check water and then make recommendations. We were building a new house and dug a well and I wanted to have the water checked out. Setting up the consultation was simple. RainSoft called me and asked to set up a time and a guy came out and did a presentation. We were in the process of selling an old house at the time so we didn't do it right away. I called them back in four or five months and said we were ready, and the guy came out again, did the test, and then scheduled the installation for us. Then there was a mix up with the financing through Home Depot since they were supposed to give us 24 months and they only did 12, but a few phone calls resolved that.
We got the oxidizer, the softener and the filter that goes under the sink. The installation was easy, fast and didn't interfere with what we are doing in the house. They had to come back a couple of weeks ago because one of the pipes they installed for the drain came loose and broke. I called them and they came back the next day and fixed it again. The water system made a huge difference as we had a sulfur smell in the water but now our water's perfect and it's better than the city water at our old house.

We were in the market for a water filtration system. A RainSoft rep came out and explained everything real thorough. It made sense for us when I had to compare them to a couple of other companies and its pricing, and certainly, we chose RainSoft. We had a newborn and we decided to get the whole RainSoft system with the air, the clean fresh, and the actual reverse osmosis system. It made sense to us from a health standpoint and any possibilities we want to make sure we're as healthy as we can be. The sales rep was very good, very polite, was on point and on time. He really did a nice job. On the other hand, their installer was phenomenal.
For the AC in our home, I could tell the difference smell-wise. The air now has a cleaner smell. Also, our clothes are more crisps and clean. I can personally taste the difference in the taste of the water but simply the visual effect of it and then showing the difference was enough for us. Even if it's not 100% realistic, you're going to have water here and there with the pollutants in the world. If I have the ability to get water filtration for me and my family, then there's no reason not to. Everyone did a great job from the salesman to the installer and the gentleman that came out to review the whole system with us once it was already installed. My whole experience was excellent. RainSoft is affordable and worth every penny. We gave a couple of referrals and a couple family and friends bought the system. We're very fortunate.

But I got a RainSoft water treatment deal which is outside the house and the system had a line that discharges salt water. The installation team had run it on the ground and I asked them to come back and run it somewhere else. They did and I’m completely satisfied with the installation team and the management ‘cause they've always called and given me a heads-up. They were very good people and they went above and beyond. I’m also happy with the system. I used to have hard products and whenever I get out of the bath, I would feel sticky. This system completely took care of all that. He almost got me late picking up my daughter because they’re only supposed to take 30 minutes and he took an hour.
I got a call a week later and they had a wholesale. I was interested in that and bought another system but for $3,000. It’s an EC4 home water softener and a reverse osmosis under the sink. Our dishes, the bathroom, showers and shower doors are cleaner. Also, our clothes are getting cleaner as well. The install team was really good, professional and was on time. I had a part go out recently and they came out and fixed it at no charge. He was very polite and friendly and we had no problems. I purchased their water softener and it only took a little more than an hour to install. Since then, the water tastes better however, I was getting breakouts when I started using the water and the oatmeal soap that came with the softener. But they’re all gone. I’m very pleased with RainSoft.

I would absolutely never recommend RainSoft water systems to anyone! Installation for the unit was close to 2,000 (if not more) and we were suppose to have someone contact us after 6 months to get the filters replaced. 11 months later and no response so I called... $99 dollars for the service tech to come out and replace the filters plus an extra $66 for the actual filters!? This was definitely not disclosed on "selling of the unit" to our home. There are many other companies that do water treatment and filtration systems... I would recommend going to them instead. Not an astronomical price for their unit and no hidden fees! Very very disappointed???

At first I was very hesitant towards this product because growing up you were told about how dirty tap water was and to not drink it. After using this product for a month my husband and I have saw a huge change in not only money we've been saving but how our clothes and skin feel from using purified water. I would recommend this to everyone. From excellent customer service to fast installment.

We didn't drink our water before and we wanted to get it tested. We found out about Rainsoft through Home Depot and setting up the consultation with their sales representative was good and easy. I purchased every product that they showed me. The installation team loved our house because it was already set up for what they installed. With the system in place, our water is cleaner. It's been a very good experience.

We heard about RainSoft from a friend and neighbor and bought our first system in '94. We got our second one and it's the home filtration system and something for the drinking water. It's always been positive with their sales reps. We've always had difficulties with them finding our home but that’s because of the mapping services. But everything has worked out well. They were friendly and knowledgeable. Then the team installed the system carefully and well. It's been very nice and the water has been much better. Our well water has a lot of calcification with mostly calcium and silt making it very hard. But there's been a difference in the hardness of the water.

We've been RainSoft customers for 17 years. We were in Jacksonville, Florida 15 years ago, and we saw RainSoft at a home show and bought one for our home there. Then we moved and looked for a RainSoft dealer and they immediately installed it in our current home. We knew what we wanted so talking to the sales rep was like an order taking. We got a softener with a carbon unit attached to it. The installation team did a good job, then a rep came back a few days later and made sure we understood how the unit operated. The water is soft and we get no build-up on anything that relates to the shower because of the water's clarity. Everything worked out great.

I value good drinking water and was curious so I researched about water treatment systems. I then sent RainSoft my spring water test through Home Depot. Anyone who came here for consultation was pleasant, and their installation team was also knowledgeable. Everybody knows what they were doing, so that helps the whole process. It’s pleasant outside of its cost. I got the RainSoft filtration system for my water and it works well, like it’s safe for the children. The difference is fairly obvious too - your skin is less dry, your hair is less coarse. Their products work better!

I was interested in the benefits of having soft water. Setting up a consultation with RainSoft was seamless and easy. The sales rep was extremely polite and as we were doing the demonstration, he gave us the pros and cons. It was a very positive interaction and he wasn't pushy at all. He was very helpful and he laid out the different plans and the cost versus competitors. I initially purchased a system that didn't come with an electronic screen. But, due to complications with their install, I was upgraded to the next version up.
The installation team wasn't able to install the system the day they came. They poked a few holes in my garage but they couldn't find the main water line. Then they came back after I had a few conversations with the GM, and they figured it out. It required them to poke quite a few holes in my ceiling but they got the job done. They were very courteous and they cleaned up after. Everything has been as they described after the water treatment system was installed. My skin feels a lot softer and there are no streaks when I clean the dishes. Everything feels better. I highly recommend working with RainSoft and I'd be happy to introduce those guys to my friends and colleagues.

About 10 months ago, my husband and I were in Home Depot, someone came up to us and said that we would receive a $20 dollar gift certificate if we take this survey. We participated in the survey and he stated the gift card would be coming. About a month later my husband said someone contacted him and asked to give a demonstration on the water treatment we did a survey on. I was very reluctant because I did not want to buy anything, we were in the process of looking/buying a new home so did not really want to put anything in the other home (plus we were renting). We explained to the gentleman we were not looking to buy anything but we let him come because it might be something we would be interested in the future for our new house. When he came over, he explained that it would only take about 15 minutes. 10 minutes for the water demonstration and a 5 minute video. This visit took about 45 minutes to an hour.
I was almost 8 months pregnant at the time and had just gotten home from work and was not prepared to have him in the house for that long. We were impressed with the demonstration and seriously thought about getting this in the home we were interested in. Upon him leaving, we noticed a mark/watermark on the counter from the bottle he used his chemicals on. I tried to wipe with a dishrag and soap but it would not disappear. My husband called him and he said to try various things to get it up, we did as suggested. About a week later it still was on the counter, our counter tops are black, so a white water mark is pretty prevalent. My husband contacted him and he said he would try to come back with some solution to get it up. Every time he said he would come, he would call back a day or two later and say he had to reschedule.
After about 3 months, my husband tried to contact the corporate office, they kept passing the buck and said that they would call him back. It has been 10 months now, my son is 7 months old, we are in the process of moving and the stain is still on the counter. I have spent a good amount of money buying products to try to get this up and nothing is working. We call at least once a week, if not more. The customer service is terrible, no one is wanting to take responsibility and I believe RainSoft is hoping we will just give up. At this point I am looking to take legal action because all we want is someone to come get this off the counter, it has been 10 months, and this is beyond ridiculous. Like I said, once we got to the new house we seriously considered getting this system, we will never buy this now.

Our water wasn’t the best but it wasn’t bad either. The water was hard on our laundry, our bodies, and everything. The chlorine was nasty enough. The guy who runs the RainSoft place lives across the street from me. He did an excellent job during the consultation. He shared with me everything that was wrong with my water and he went through details on each problem as far as using our laundry detergent, as well as with the new pipes and other items in the house. He explained everything very well. I got the water softener and the installation team did great. I’ve had some bad experiences in the past with other things at the house. But it went smoothly with RainSoft. Everything was done on time like they said it would be. The taste of our water coming up from our fridge was what got me thinking about water treatment systems. Then our friend, who had already used the system, referred us to RainSoft and at first, I didn’t know that I was referred so that was a little odd. But the lady did a good job explaining who it was and it was an easy experience. Then she set the appointment up however she didn’t tell us how long it would actually take for the rep, David, to do the presentation in our house. I didn’t feel the time was right so I was glad I didn’t have anything planned after that. It ended up being two hours since we ended up purchasing.
David was great though. He was very professional, friendly, and knew his product really well which we really liked about him. We ended up getting the actual water filtration system with the reverse osmosis underneath the counter. The installers were great, too. They were very friendly and they did a good job putting our system in. They asked us where we wanted it placed and there was no push back on that so we were happy with that.
Everything seems to be working perfectly fine since then. I just need to get the shaft for the filter in my fridge so that the water stops running through that whole filter. We had ordered that from the refrigerator company so once we get that, it’ll be fine. I only have one issue and it's on the Yard Card part of it. There's no grace period after the bill's due date so I have to pay it on or before that or I'm charged late fees. I've told David this in case he wanted to close on a customer. But other than that, we love our RainSoft system so we've been referring it to our friends.

Well it has been 9 days! I couldn't even make coffee this morning. Service after the sale is ridiculously bad. So I got the water system installed, and so far that has worked just fine. It's providing well conditioned water with minimal impact on our water pressure. However, the "add-ons" have been a nightmare. First, as part of our purchase, we were to get a 5 year supply of Pure & Clear products to replace all our soaps and shampoos and such. We were supposed to be contacted within 3 days of the installation, doubly important to us as we had decided to not buy any of the cleaning products that we were out of because we expected to at least have our holdovers until the main shipment came in. It wasn't until the fourth day (when I had to actually call into the number) that we actually got the ball rolling.
Nearly a WEEK after our system had been installed (and we had been forced to go ahead and buy more cleaning products, because dirty floors and clothes aren't fun), she finally got to our house to set up our soap choices and for me to sign the financing papers. Now it's nearly a month later, and we still haven't received our first shipment of full soaps. That's one star gone.
Next up is the Americana Shopper. Didn't hear anything about it from anyone until I called in (again) this past Monday to see what I needed to get setup with that, because it'd be real nice to have those coupons. For the first time, I'm told that I won't get the shopper subscription until I make my first payment on the system, (even though I only get 3 days to cancel after signing the finance papers, which has passed now). So that's the second star gone.
The third star is actually about the financing itself. On that, I was told I would have 45 days from installation before my first payment was due. NOPE, only getting 30. Also this is admittedly my fault for not reading the entire thing through, but no one mentioned at any time that I would only have THREE days to return the system if I wasn't satisfied. But the real clincher? The day that my return period was up, my financing account was sold to a credit union I've never heard of. Oh and they promised it'd be paid off in 5 years at $160 a month. Nah, more like 8 years at $160 a month (grand total of nearly $15k on an $8k system.) I get that financing costs, but that seems a bit overboard. Don't get me wrong, I love our water now. I love the air cleaner they put in the AC. I love what we've been able to use of the soaps. But honestly, I don't know if this headache's going to end up being worth it.

Had a resin treatment system installed pursuant to a visit to Home Depot. I am familiar with the RainSoft name and also have a local friend who has the same system. Very happy with the initial visit/water testing. Installers did a great job putting the system in (29 June 2017) and told me someone would be delivering 120lbs of salt first thing in the morning. 5 stars so far.
'Happy check' was scheduled for 10:00AM 1 July. Rep called, left a message regarding sick child and wanted to reschedule. No answer when I called back but I left a message saying that wouldn't be a problem. She called 3 July, we scheduled for 12 July since she wanted my wife to be here also and that's the next day we'll both be available. I told the rep we still hadn't received the salt, she said we can't wait that long, she would have someone deliver it that day or do it herself. Didn't happen. I've received no further contact from anyone, apparently 4th of July beer and barbecue plans trump customer service. 1 star.
I am not a happy customer. I don't care how well the system works, you have competition. If you don't take care of customers after the sale you will begin losing customers. At this point I cannot recommend RainSoft to friends. This may not be directly attributable to RainSoft/Aquion... but your name is on the equipment. Local distributor is WCW & Air, Inc. I've got hard water and I needed to do something. The RainSoft rep told me he'd meet me in the evening and he did. It was pretty quick and simple. I knew I had an issue, I knew what I was going to do, so basically, he was around a fraction of the amount of time than they normally would be there for. They wanted to try to sell, but I said it was not going to be a hard sell as I was already going to do it. I was just trying to get a price and my options. I was able to accomplish that and we moved forward.
I've got the carbon filter with the big salt tub for soft water. The interaction with the installation team was fine. I had to kind of help them as far as where my water comes in to where it needed to go, but I should have consulted a bit more with the technician and they should have consulted with me a little bit more to tell me what my options were, because they came in and they were going to automatically run the water all the way over to where the water comes in to the house to where it was, which is quite a ways off. I told them where they could do it, but I was told otherwise. I don't need the outside water to have it. Then, of course, they said they wanted the whole system but I told them I didn't need or want the whole system.
The only issue I had was the guy who was selling the product needs to be a little more aware, and I think he was, as he's been doing it a long time. My example is the area that I had to put the system in is a small room, where if you walk inside, it's the dryer, then the furnace, the air conditioning unit, and the washer to the left. Then in the other corner is the hot water heater where we had to put stuff. And he explained how big the system was and how far it'll stick out.
What they didn't take into account is that three and a half or four inches where it has to elbow out. So that carbon filter in that other tank stuck out a little bit farther, and inches make a big difference in this tiny room. So for that, I told him he needed to remember that they've got an extra four inches where something had to come out. But it worked out fine. They just have to take all these other stuff into consideration. But other than that, I don't get the hard water stains anymore, especially in the tub, and I've recommended them.

DO NOT BUY! I bought this in June of 2016. We were never told of a yearly service fee of $100 to service the product yearly. I contacted the salesman who basically told me to pound sand and to not worry about servicing the product, go on YouTube, and push buttons to reset it myself. Very unconcerning. Nothing like when they sold me the product. I asked if I could return the product and they told me no.
I will be contacting the FTC, Home Depot (who financed the product and who RainSoft used to advertise), a lawyer, and media. I really think it is a scam. We experienced a difference in the water's feel and tastes for about 3 months as was demonstrated before we purchased. Now it is as it was before our expensive purchase. I wish I would have read the consumer complaints before I purchased. Some of the complaints seem similar. Hopefully we can all get together and file a class action suit. Their rep was a nice guy. He was sociable and made some jokes. He was smart and did all the tests. However, they said the initial consultation would only take 30 minutes but the rep was there for three hours. It was so late at night but it was all right. We got the reverse osmosis package thing. Their installation team was mostly digging out front but they were nice and cleaned up after themselves. The water treatment system has helped a lot and it was exactly what we needed. Since installing it, the water is softer. We're not getting all that residual stuff left behind around the faucet and the water tastes better. That's drastically noticeable.

It started at a visit to Home Depot online and was sold a product that was misrepresented. Manager of store in Bulverde TX recommended we set up an appointment with RainSoft to evaluate our needs. This is when it truly spiraled of controlled. Once again their product did not soften our water and damaged inside of dishwasher, left a build up and spots of dishes & glasses etc. Rainsoft could not correct problems so replaced with another, this is still not much better. All along I have stated it is not working and I do not work, no one will listen. We have very hard well water. All the "free" product is very dissatisfactory.
I at the end of my rope, I would like to take out and set it in their office, however would still be stuck with owing the almost $5, $890.00 for a piece of junk. I feel everyone involved was more interested in sale and commission, than customer service and satisfaction. Contract dated 9/24/2016, I am aware of 3 year Dealer's Service Policy, however I feel it is useless in view of this product being misrepresented on performance.
UPDATED ON 08/19/2017: Following up on last review. I did get a service person out, a part was replaced because of corrosion informing us that was why it was not softening. Our hardness is 95 to 97, this system will not perform in this environment. My inexpensive standard water softener lasted 12 years. They said, "Well it is still under warranty so there is no charge." What happen when that is over? Expensive on us and still ruining my granite, glassware and who knows what else since I cannot see inside the plumbing. I want this REMOVED!
Next step is attorney, we have many pictures. Oh I forget, they did offer to put on outside our closet in garage and take up precious space, as it is this second one they put in takes the whole utility closet leaving no room for vacuum and other items. This is ridiculous, we are seniors and have been duped into thinking we could ride into our golden years without replacing the softener again. What a joke,

Great product, very poor customer service. Background: Home Depot offered a $20 gift card for listening to an at home presentation for water treatment through RainSoft (WCW & AIR INC). Issues: The sales process took 4 hours and the sales person doing the demonstration used many scare tactics to show us "how harmful" the water we drink is (We have a background in doing drinking water related work so we know a decent amount about water analysis and testing).
Watch out for the tests they perform at your home. They over exaggerate the results for some of the tests and they do improper titration (hardness, chlorine test). This is not to say that they are totally wrong. Soft water and dechlorinating extends the life of many equipment and has health benefits. The order originally did not include all of the products we paid for. We had to call the regional manager to double check and be informed of what products/models we were getting and ensure it was being recorded on the order. The Southeastern manager will tell you that he will call back shortly but most of the time he won't.
They did not have one of our purchased items onsite during the installation so the install itself took over 8 hours (We had water at one point during the day so we could still use the bathroom; at the 4 hour mark). This was still very inconvenient as we have a newborn to take care of. The issue was resolved only after we made several phone calls regarding our treatment unit (QSR). No compensation or remedy for the botched installation and forgetting about one of the items we paid for. Overall, unless you are able to get the equipment for a very good price, we would not recommend their services. You can have just as good a water system by going through another company or doing it yourself. Just make sure you are comfortable with plumbing and some electrical.

I was interested in a water softener for the inside of the house because I want our water to be as good as, if not better than, the soft water that I get out of my refrigerator, as well as to get rid of any kind of bacteria or allergy that you get in regular water that comes from the city or out of the well. I ventured around and read about RainSoft in the paper. And my wife asked for a representative from RainSoft to come over to our house and explain what kind of units they have, the costs and what they all did. The guy that came over knew the product inside out and explained the different types of units and what would be necessary for us to have and what we don't need to have, what type of long-term care we want and the products to use with their water softener which should make everything cleaner, easier, and smoother. He was very good.
I bought the system with twin cylinders for the water and a salt storage tank and we had them install it in the garage so that it wouldn't get weathered. I like the product and the company that installed it. They were very meticulous and precise, and I was very happy with the outcome. RainSoft brings the cubicle salt periodically as it would be needed and all I got to do is check the container once in a while and see how it is. And they come every six months to take a look at it.
Since having the system, my body is a little slicker. And because the water is softer and smoother, I use less soap. The clothing looks whiter because the system produces better water. Also, the drinking is great and we drink tons of tap water. All in all, RainSoft has a great product and I will advertise for it anytime. Also, they were on-time, they were priced right and took care of everything that I asked, and they did anything that they promised.

They have the nerve to send my debt to a lawyer. I want answers as to why I haven't received 1 item. I even called them and they promised to send products... What happened. The co. is very irresponsible and not worthy to be mentioned to anyone for their service. I am very irate and very disgusted I even got into this contract with them. I will place a review on the web.

This experience has been one of the worst decisions I have made. My RainSoft unit was installed in my home on 6-4-17. Like anything you purchase most results are noticed immediately, or within a couple of days, you should start to see some change. I have had this unit for four days, and nothing has changed. My so-called hard water still feels hard with a softener unit, and the water appears cloudy out of the faucet. I called to request a refund, and the representative in her way mocked me for wanting a refund because my request was initiated on day four instead of day 3. This company claims to have a reputation of excellent customer care. In my opinion, it fell short of that. I've paid quite a bit of money for this system to not see immediate results.
Then to add insult to injury not allow me a chance to return their unit because I contacted them one day late. For any consumer thinking about making a purchase with this company think twice about it and do your due diligence. I despise companies who do not stand behind their products. Along with shady sales representatives, who will tell you anything just to get a sale.

We needed a water softener system and our neighbor suggested RainSoft. Setting up a consultation schedule with them was easy and they came out within a couple of days. The sales rep demonstrated how the product would change the water. He had a little chemistry set and he showed how the system worked and what came out of the water. Then we bought the water conditioning system and we had every faucet in our home treated. It took us a while to get everything ready for them but they brought it out real quick after that and it was a stress-free experience. It was excellent. The installer came out, put it in and then he talked to us about it and asked if we had questions. Apparently, Cape Coral water has got a horrible taste to it and we couldn't drink it before. We had to have a system that purifies it, and now we can drink the water right out of the faucet. That's the main thing, but I also think we use less soap now and the water feels creamier.

The sales rep from RainSoft came to our house for the consultation and tested our water. She also told us about water safety. We got the big filter, the rock salt and then the three things that go under the sink. It was quick and efficient but also expensive.

I was unsure of the water quality in our area. The Rainsoft sales reps were friendly and they came out to our home and did a demonstration with us and our three children about the quality of our water and how much Chlorine and hardness it had. We got the filter that connects to the whole home. The installation team came out, dug and buried the line, and installed the saltwater pump. They did a fine job. Since the installation, everything's much softer and the taste of the water is much better than it was before. I noticed the softness of the skin when washing dishes or taking a bath and there is no chlorine smell at all. The water seems to be clear. Overall, it was a positive experience.

I saw RainSoft at Home Depot six months ago. I was interested to hear what they have to offer and what is the system that they have. I got the water softener, the one you put in the air condition unit to purify the air, and the one you put on the washing machine. I love the products. They do what RainSoft says they would and I am totally satisfied with them. With these products installed, I’m feeling much better coming out of the bathroom. The bathroom glass stains and the soap scums have been greatly reduced. The water also tastes better. Their installers were very pleasant as well. What I am totally against about RainSoft though is their dishonest and unethical business practice.
They came by the house and told me what would be the cost and my payment. I told them before we signed, "I would get back to you. But as it is now, I have something to deal with. I cannot do it for the next four weeks." I made an arrangement with them because I only took it based on the price they were giving me for and that I would have no payment for four weeks. After signing, they said they can have the installers here by the very next day to put in the products, which what had happened.
About three weeks’ time, they sent me another letter saying that they are going to send me to collections because they don't hear from me, which isn't true. Then, they tried to rewrite the contract. My credit is different, so I know that I have to change it and it’s going to cost me a different price. I said, "No problem.” But what they did is they came and took back the things they installed at my house. They also told me that they’re going to report me and that my credit is going to get shattered. So, there’s no way I am paying anymore. It’s not my problem that they chose to come and put the products in the following morning without doing any further research. They can take back their equipment if that's the case.
After two weeks, they sent somebody to me to renegotiate the contract. But still, the bottom line is that they want to take back two things out of the three equipment installed and give me the same price. So I told them, "Listen, there is no way on God's earth I could sign a contract with you to pay you $119 a month and then I changed it to $80. You would not accept that. Similarly, I am not accepting you changing it to a higher figure."
I called the guy who came to demonstrate the products to me and told him, "Listen man, you are here. You know what I'm talking about. This is not something I'm just making up. You are the one who’s supposed to go out and say, 'Yes, I offered him this.' Yes, I have the authority." He told me that it’s not him but the people in the account inspection. So I said, "If you did not have the authority to do what you did, then you shouldn't have done it. It's totally dishonest." Somebody also told me about RainSoft before I did mine. I said, "No. The people I deal with RainSoft seem very honest and straightforward, and this is what we signed for." She said, "No. They did that to me and I have to tell them to come and take back their thing." So, lo and behold, she was right. They did it to me as well.
I'm dissatisfied with the experience I had with RainSoft. I'd think twice before I introduce them to anybody again because of that. Had it not been the episode I had with them with financial experience, I would recommend it to everybody because we called someone out to demonstrate and then right then, it's a deal. But that's it.

My water was very spotty and hard so I was researching for a water treatment. Setting up a consultation with the RainSoft sales rep was easy and the session was very personal and too informative. A team installed the soft water system and it was pleasant. They went out of their way to install it the way I wanted it installed. Now, our water tastes a lot better. Overall, the system is little more expensive, but it's worth it and they were easy to deal with.

Southwest Florida Well water can be difficult. The Fort Myers/Port Charlotte RainSoft affiliate kept promising us clean Well water treatment time and time again. Over 1-1/2 years they sold my wife over $11,000 of equipment with each new promise. We found, in hindsight we were dramatically overcharged. Nevertheless, when the system continued to fail, they stopped responding to our calls.
The General Manager at RainSoft corporate headquarters, Andrew ** similarly would not return my calls. His designee said their affiliates are completely independent and therefore honoring their Satisfaction Guarantee was not a headquarters issue. He said we should simply allow their affiliate another month to try again. After 20 months of continuing issues, and now failure to respond to phone calls, we could not see fit to live with another month of bad water. Water to drink, shower and cook with. Buyer beware, your Southwest Florida RainSoft affiliate and your national Corporate Headquarters are prepared to allow overcharging and will avoid honoring their Satisfaction Guarantee in any and every way they can.

We moved down here and my sister-in-law has a water treatment system. We stayed with them for a while and the water was real good for taking a shower. I purchased the RainSoft system. The sales rep was able to answer all of my questions and their installation team did a real good job. They were very friendly, cleaned up afterward, and explained the whole operation to us. RainSoft is very good. I can drink the water out of the tap now.

At first, I had no intention of purchasing anything from RainSoft. I just wanted to see what they would have to say about my water here. But the saleslady who came out was very convincing about how I could have better water and my lead pipes would last longer. She was here for over two hours and seemed not to hurry at all. She demonstrated her product, was extremely personable, she seemed to enjoy what she was doing and she led me to believe that if I could possibly afford it, then it would be a good purchase. So I got the basic system where it filters all the water coming through the house. That cost me $5,000.
the installer who came out was great, extremely thorough, a real gentleman and friendly. He explained things to me and showed me how to use and fill the system. He knew what he was doing and was here for about a half hour. It was harder to rinse with my water before and it felt like my skin was still soapy when there's no soap left on them. Also, it used to always burn my eyes. But that feeling is gone now for about 90 percent as I've got soft water with RainSoft. But one thing I think that would have been nice is if the saleslady would take the time to write me a thank you note, which I would have immediately recycled.

We knew we had hard water because we live in Missouri. The sales rep explained everything and answered all our questions. He was very knowledgeable and it was great. We purchased a big one for the house and another that goes underneath the sink. The installer was fantastic. He was very friendly and also knowledgeable. He did an excellent job. My husband had a couple of questions, which can be a pain in the neck, but he answered them and my husband understood him.
Now, our clothes are a lot cleaner and I noticed our towels are a lot fluffier. And of course, the water tastes a lot better out of the faucet we have that's strictly for drinking. The shower doesn't get dirty. I don't use as much detergent, too. We feel clean and it's amazing. We also get to use their products but I haven't started that yet because I wanted to use what we already have first. I don't want to throw it away but we're getting close to using all that. RainSoft Water Treatment Systems is well worth it and it makes a big difference. Everything was just perfect.
