Our experience with Pella was perfect. Our Sales Rep, Charlie **, did a great job when he came to our home for the initial sales meeting. He showed us the features in the Pella windows and talked us through the process and the pricing, explaining everything very clearly with no hard sell. We especially liked the hidden screen feature which we ended up getting and love. We pretty much made our decision to buy at the end of this first meeting, and we’re able to get everything we wanted at a price that fit within our budget, which was great.

The Project Manager, Johnathan **, was also very helpful and communicated the timeline and kept us updated. The install happened on schedule and the team did an exceptional job. We’ve had our new windows for a couple of months now and we couldn’t be happier. I’d highly recommend Pella if you’re looking to replace your windows. They’re very competitive on price, don’t hard sell you like other companies, and the quality of their products and team is exceptional.

Pella made a mistake: our front window is in obscure glass. May 15, 2025 we were told 4 weeks to correct their error. We are now being told Aug 12, 2024 and have waited over a week for a return call with no response. We are not happy - trying to be understanding that mistakes happen, but we are now past 4 weeks and no return call as promised-- highly disappointed! Not being able to see out our front window is not enjoyable and is a safety issue!

From initial consult, to measuring for the project, to final installation you guys were complete professionals. When unforeseen eventualities changed the scope of the project, the installation crew consulted with me on the fix, went to a local hardware store for the additional materials, and still wrapped up only an hour and a half beyond our original expectation. I'll add almost as an afterthought that the large picture frame window add a wonderful feature to our house. I happily plan on using Pella again next year for other window replacements.

We needed windows replaced. We were having siding replaced due to storm damage and thought it was the perfect time to replace the windows at the same. The Pella sales specialist did not make it out for the initial appointment due to weather. We told her we had someone out a year earlier and had it quote still so we sent it to her and she used it to give us an updated quote. We e-signed the her updated quote within days. Windows were installed about 6 weeks later. When windows were installed I felt like they were loose. There was a lot of play in the double hung. I expressed my concern with installer and he told me the double hung fit little loose. The more I looked at the windows the more unsatisfied I was. Windows that fit loose??? How is that energy efficient?

After inspecting all the windows we found one window that was not make correctly and the seal on window was not intact. I called Pella and they had a field tech come out and he found that 4 of the windows had too much play and the sashes needed replaced and well as the windows sash that the seal was made incorrectly. So here we just spend $$$ to have new windows installed and we are already making a warranty claim??? What?? After multiple calls over a few weeks I think the replacement sashes are on order. Still waiting to hear a install date for the replacements.

I can not recommend Pella windows. Windows are an investment in our house. The windows do not fit well. I can hear birds and noises outside outer windows that I never heard with our 20+ year old windows. Wondering how the windows will perform in the winter if it is this bad in the summer. Attached pic is a picture of the sash with the bad seal. I am dissatisfied with customer service because after the field tech came and told me that he was putting in a warranty claim on the windows it took a month to get a hold of someone to let me know that they were on order. I spoke and left messages so many times with no call backs for weeks. Finally someone called me back and let me know that the warranty claim had been submitted. I am still waiting to hear when they will be installing the new sashes.

We had windows installed the middle of May. The very front window that faces the street has a big hole in the glass with a big Pella sticker. Not to be fixed till Aug 1. We understand the glass comes from greenfield - a terrible tragedy. However we have 2 other pieces on different windows that need replaced. Just assumed that we went with Pella windows and things would be better addressed.

On the plus side, The interior trim is outstanding, a beautiful job matching the color. The crew that installed it was efficient, there were 9 of them, so the job was completed in about 8 hours. The crew supervisor was the only one who spoke English but was very friendly and courteous. Overall, we are happy with the windows.

100% perfect in every way--first visit, final installment. My only frustration is that your financing company GreenSky doesn't know what they're doing--they mis-send invoices; then they dun me for payments though I have already sent them. They have 3 addresses and if I don't magically know which is the one I should send the payments to, it takes 3 weeks for them to finally catch up with the check. They call me constantly and though I resolve the situation with one person (after an hour of intensely correcting their own errors, which they admit), another one calls who knows nothing about the earlier calls. This is a horrible way to begin a relationship (with them).

On both the Reserve and Lifestyle sliding glass doors I purchased from Pella, the still panel's free edge board (vice the edge against the frame) is pierced by staples down its length. I would think that, considering the absence of exposed fasteners on the remainder of the door, that either it is impossible to attach the board with a hidden fastener, or, this is a production step that is being overlooked concerning quality. It is difficult to match the grain and color of the board with retail wood putty. I'm working on trying to pre-stain the putty before I finish staining the entire door. I'm surprised that Pella continues to turn out products manufactured in this manner, given that the rest of the products construction reveals so much thought by its flawless appearance.

The install was great and the quality of the product is great. The Pella office and getting this set up for install was difficult. They kept saying they called and left me messages which I never got. There was a delay and a snafu with asbestos clearance which wasn't really the office's fault but screwed up the actual install date. I purchased and paid the whole price in August to get the tax free weekend rate, only to have the actual install take place in May. A long time for my money to sit in their accounts. Anyway, the product is good and I'm glad it's done.

We had three exterior doors to our home replaced by Pella. One went exactly as planned and was installed easily, on time, and with no difficulties. Our slider door to the deck and the French doors into the backyard both had fairly significant issues. First, the casing for the French doors was measured incorrectly and when ordered, did not fit the opening. The first replacement came cracked, and by the time the second arrived, it had been three months since the original install. Second, the slider door was installed in such a way that the screen would not latch - AND it was discovered that the door had never been sealed with caulk and we had some significant water leakage when our house was being prepped for paint. Pella did ultimately resolve all of these issues - but they were all 100% avoidable. Our new doors look nice and are now fully functional - it just took way too long to get there.

Then after just 11/2 yrs we noticed some mold on the interior trim. The doors were leaking. We called Pella, they sent out a rep & he told me all the bottom wood panels had warped and allowed water to penetrate. We hadn't seen the water because we also have screen sliders inside and it hindered seeing the water puddle in the track. Now I find out they'll replace the doors but charge $4,600 labor & they would throw out the supposed 10 year warranty & give us only 2 years on the new doors. Makes the warranty absolutely useless!

The Pella guy was excellent. He came out and measured, and was very quick to get out here as well as to get us on a schedule. The installers were out here and were done when they said they were gonna be. They did a great job. They fixed eight big windows and the quality was wonderful. The energy cost savings are gonna be tremendous. We already saw that in Spring but we had one set of the windows that were done before Christmas because the seals were bad and we saw a $100 drop in our bill. I've had Pella Doors done too and we had two Pella sliders that were removed, and they put in French doors, which were gorgeous. That was our first project and the windows were second and third projects.

Pella installed seven larger windows on the first story of our home. Three were operable. While the product itself has met expectations and the basic installation carpentry was performed capably, despite challenges with regard to our stucco siding, the paint and caulking finish out was poorly done. For the price we paid, that should have been done by paint pros and not by the carpentry-oriented installation crew. We were also disappointed with the sales follow-up. By comparison, we had twenty windows installed flawlessly by Pella's primary competitor, Andersen, in much harsher conditions. They would have received a "5" rating versus the "3" shown herein for Pella.

We loved the style and look of the windows, but soon experience failures. Customer service is a nightmare. You have to pay to have them come look windows and door. Two doors in particular keep rotting on the bottom. I have too many negative experiences to take the time to list them all. Had I known it would continue for years, I would have gotten a lawyer. The last time they came, they were bringing doors to replace those two prematurely rotting door. They said they brought the wrong size. Left and didn't come back.

My husband called them multiple times without any response. After he died suddenly in Sept. I started the process of calling them to see where the doors were. They started with saying they have no record of the transaction. I have pictures of the day they came with the wrong doors. NOT an honest company. I finally got a rude message from a rep, who did not even leave her name told me to schedule a time, (again I have to pay for for them to come out again and look at the doors). If I didn't know it was a real company I would think it's a scam!!

Pella's reps were great and getting set up with them was very easy. They were quick to respond and quick to set things up, and always followed through with where they were in the process, like when the door would be ready and when it would be installed. We ordered a door and the installation went smoothly. I went with a door with a smaller window so that people couldn't see into my house. So at first, it seemed to be so dark in my house and that was the biggest thing. It was a shock but it had nothing to do with the door. It seems to be good quality though the price was a little high. Pella was everything I needed them to be, so I would recommend them.

My purchasing experience with Pella was good and easy. However, a couple of quality issues could have been handled before they were ever sent to our house. One of the windows has built-in blinds and the blind control was on the totally wrong side. The screen was meant for it to be on the correct side. They should have caught it because it was a casement window with double panes. The blind control mechanisms should have been on the opposite side of the window. It was an obvious screw-up. But other than that, the windows are great. They also got right out and fixed it. The warranty that they offer and the follow-through from Pella speak for themselves.

We told Pella what we were looking for. We were looking at the way we wanted the door to swing and Pella showed us various options. They did an in-home consultation. One installer didn't speak English. The other one did. The only thing we weren't pleased with was it seemed they rushed to get to their next job, and they didn't make sure that everything was completed fully before they left. They did a good job initially installing the door. But when we left, we realized that we couldn't open the door fully. Had a little stickiness to it. They had to come back a week later to fix it. They were able to fix it within an hour. It's a very solid, quality door.

So that was handled good and we’re very satisfied. Right now, some of the stripping of the bottom of the door are also coming undone. But we haven’t had time to call. We had a cold snap and it was brutally cold here for several days. The temperature of the Pella windows that were in the house were 75 degrees on one side and well below zero on the other. The windows were about 30 years old and after several days of that, it popped and there's a pressure crack in the pane. Unfortunately, it's a three-window section, 5-foot tall and 8-foot long so, it had to be replaced. We called the same Pella office we used before and their rep showed up when he was supposed to. He went through what we had, brought up an estimate of what it was gonna cost to replace it, and got all of his measurements done. You're paying for quality when you get with Pella, so you're gonna spend a little more money but we feel like it was well worth the money that was spent.

I texted back about 28 days later to go ahead with it and never got a response. Called the Showroom and they said they would get back and never did. When I finally got a hold of the representative they said they would book another and also never called me back. I had to call them at which they said they couldn't honor the original quote and the prices had gone up.

They also told me that there is an arbitration clause in their contracts that won't allow the buyer to sue or take any dispute with Pella to court even if they are at fault? This must be signed in order for them to proceed. I've read about an exuberant amount of issues that the company just doesn't take care of expediently or even in a reasonable amount of time. Just not worth the exuberant costs involved with the hassles that will undoubtedly come up with them.

He showed us pictures of the glass that we could not see inside the house, which was the selling point that made us buy the door. The day it was installed, I told the installer's manager it was not correct not to install and he said it was too late. I called that same morning and spoke to a woman who said Matt sales manager would call me back and he didn't call until after 5pm when the door was already installed.

I sent Matt pictures of the glass on the door Nick sold us. He reviewed my contract and said we got what Nick sold us. Our salesman told me CLEARLY exactly what I wanted to hear to get this sale. When I signed the contract I thought the door name was the name of the other brand, which I was told now that is not PELLA but a company they sell. Matt came to my house to offer other glass products and NONE of them were in the picture that the salesman sold us. I am very disappointed and I had wanted to also do the patio sliding door but now I do not trust Pella. I am waiting for some compensation and Matt is supposed to let me know. When we bought our current house, it was an old house and it hadn't been updated very much and most of the windows were very old. However, the previous owners had replaced a couple of them with a new Pella Architect Series windows. They must have replaced the ones that were in the worst shape, but left the rest. But we really liked the replacement windows that they had installed. When we got around to replacing the rest of them, we thought we should consider Pella so the windows all match and they seem to be good quality. We've ordered a bunch of them over the years. With one exception, we've been very pleased with the products, the installation and the service.

For the longest time, we always used the same installer because we were comfortable with them. We had one bad experience. We had an entry door installed years ago and the installation was incorrect and over the years, it started to sag. We had service come out a couple of times to try and adjust it, but the adjustment never really did the trick. So, we ended up just a few months ago buying a new entry door to replace that one. Again, it was a Pella door. It has been great. We're very pleased with the installation this time and with the products.

I requested a replacement for that screen on the day of installation. I still don’t have it, and have heard nothing about the replacement from anyone. I told the salesperson, on May 9th, that I hadn’t received the screen yet. Four windows that were ordered with black trim were not ready on the first installation date. They were installed a few weeks later.. That crew did not clean the trim after they installed the windows. There is a noticeable rusty looking residue on the trim. A neighbor already asked me about it…(what happened to your window?)

I called my salesperson because some of the screens have no tabs or other obvious way to remove the screens. He made an appointment. Didn’t show. I haven’t heard anything since then. The are openings around the windows so bugs and water can get into and you can see the screws on the side of the windows which looks unfinished and I paid a lot money for these windows! The kitchen window now closes very very tight and very hard to open because they did an half ** job on it. And no one is calling me back about this after I have left and called multiple times!

Replaced a Pella sliding door that had a self closing screen door. Salesman indicated new door would have that feature, but apparently it is unavailable on the door that was ordered. Salesman ordered a retractable door to be installed May 9. Came in damaged and is rescheduled for 6/6 installation. Sliding door is a 3 pane style that had smudges between the inside panes. We have been told that was our issue to clean up and shown how to open the glass panel by your tech. Installed windows had no issues. On balance, like the door and window, but would not recommend Pella to acquaintances. Execution bordered on lame. Knowing what I know now, the order would have gone to someone else.

My experience with Pella unfortunately wasn't what I hoped it would be. I turned down an almost identical offer from a highly recommended local company because of the prestige of the Pella name, but now I fear I made the wrong decision. First, the salesman was very pushy and used the hardball tactic of only offering me the best price if I signed a contract right there on the spot before he left my house that day, not allowing me even 24 hours to think things over. Ultimately I acquiesced so that's on me, but I really didn't appreciate him pressuring me like that. He knew I was a first-time window buyer and that was an unfair position to put me in.

Next, the measurements were done incorrectly so after waiting 11 long weeks for the installation date (which was the earliest they could book me despite the salesman giving me an estimate of 6-10 weeks), taking a day off from work, and preparing my whole house for the job to be done, the installers arrived that morning and immediately told me that the wrong size windows were ordered for the living room (they were 10 inches too short!) and I ultimately learned I'd have to wait another five weeks before the right ones could be installed (or 16 weeks from the date of my original sales appointment).

To their credit, Pella did give me a $500 refund for the inconvenience but only after I called the corporate office to complain since the salesman rudely ignored my e-mail and the project coordinator offered me nothing other than an apology. I also appreciated that they scheduled my next appointment for a Saturday so that I didn't have to take another day off from work, but I still had to put all my window treatments back up and then take them down a second time for the new installation date.

I know we're all human and mistakes happen, but the measurements were taken twice by two different people a few days apart. So either they both made the same silly measuring error, or only one did and he didn't compare his numbers to the other guy's to make sure they matched up before submitting the order. Either way, I'd expect more from the #2 window company, especially since that's what the salesman pushed so hard to convince me to sign the contract - the reputation of the Pella name.

The installer, who was very nice and I liked a lot the first time he came, had a very different demeanor the second time and seemed, if I had to guess, annoyed he had to be there on a Saturday due to something that wasn't at all his fault (he didn't do the measurements). As a result, I believe he did a rush job and left the J-channel surrounding my windows cracked, discolored, and out of place. Now my brand new windows that I paid thousands of dollars for don't even look that nice up close due to all the imperfections around them.

So while not every part of the experience was bad, overall I have to say I'm dissatisfied as nothing really met my expectations. Hopefully I'll be happier with my purchase this winter if these windows do a good job of keeping the drafts out and if they last as long as my old windows did, but right now it's hard to be optimistic. I hope this review is taken in the spirit with which it was intended - not as a scathing criticism by a furious guy with an axe to grind, but rather as someone calmly expressing their disappointment with what should've been a very easy job for a large company that's been around for 100 years.

Salesman (Chris **) called, he took full responsibility for the mishap, said it was his fault and would replace order. April 2, I can to get update and told the should be at warehouse on April 4. On April 9, I get text first available install is April 30. Well we had bad weather on the 30th and install was pushed out another week to May 8. When I hadn’t heard from anyone on morning I text Chris. 30 more minutes go by before I get a call from Chris to inform me that when installer went to pick up the 4 panel window that it too, was made incorrectly and that they needed to be ordered a 3rd time.

I was offered a gift card to a restaurant for my inconvenience. I declined the gift card. Dinner wasn't going to make me happy. So here I sit May 14 - 6 months later and still won’t have a window for 2 months. At that time I will have made 8 payments. The window was left boarded up as the old one had already been removed before the mistake was caught. I’m now upset that the 2nd order sat in warehouse for a month and no one had checked to make sure it was correct. I feel we need compensation much greater that a free dinner. We like the looks of the Pella products and the pricing that they came up with. Their rep was not high-pressure at all, let us take our time to make this big decision, was very knowledgeable, and gave us multiple options of what we could do. He knew that the neighborhood we're in has a very strong HOA. So, we were changing the color of our windows, and we had to go through approval process with them to allow us to change the coloring on our house, and he was very patient to work with us on that and gave us all the information we needed to provide to the HOA to get the approval.

He told us that from the time of ordering till the the windows would be available from the manufacturing process would be 10 to 12 weeks, which was fine. That worked well with us because we made the decision in January-February timeframe. So, that was going to work out with better weather for us here because we knew the house would be open. So, April-May timeframe would have worked out fine. They were manufactured and made available to us in about a four-week timeframe. It worked out well for us that we had a warm spell here in Tennessee. The weather cooperated with everything we were trying to do.

We had 42 windows removed and on one of the pair of windows, we had a single solid window put in there. So, we had 41 total installed. It took them approximately a week to do that. We got delayed for a couple of days because of rain, and it was fine with us not to install when it was raining. They started on Monday and they were finished on Sunday with two days of rain delay. They told us it would be five to six days to get everything done. So, that was fine.

The overall process was painless for us. It went smoothly. The installation crew was very courteous and careful to ensure that there wasn't any dirt or any issues inside the house as they were moving the windows. We've had the windows installed now for a couple of months and, thus far, we're very happy with them. We got a lifetime warranty on the windows. It's a 20-year on installation and the glass.

He sent me pictures of my options and I loved the first one I saw. He came back several times because I changed the plan a few times. He measured and measured, we texted, and we called. There was a lot of good communication. The installation took one day and the products are really beautiful. You roll this little knob and the window opens out. I bought two of them and they are massive. They are four feet wide. Aside from those two big windows, I also bought three regular windows. They had a lot of people here for the installation and it was super clean.

The windows are exactly what I wanted. They're super functional and very beautiful. They transformed the house. We live in an old cabin, but we've got these new black windows and they have transformed the exterior. I also tied everything together with that. We've got a black garage door and some black painting done on the other doors. It's cool and has a modern rustic vibe. Compared to our old windows, these new ones are much better in terms of functionality, look and energy efficiency. They're worth the price.

I am extremely disappointed in the service I received from Pella. My initial install was not at all how I expected. There wasn't a Pella representative present, the communication was horrible. A window was delivered broken (according to the foreman, this was already known but they were told to install the broken window anyway and would replace the glass in the future but no one communicated this with me or asked my preference). A window that they removed was dropped and shattered and there appears to be no attempt at picking up the broken glass since I found several pieces, large and small, all over.

They clearly walked on a wooden board I keep over a sink and left it filthy and in need of repainting. There are scratches on my bathroom tile; scratches and scuff marks on window sills. I have many other smaller complaints about the initial install. Also, when the broken glass was replaced, I was called to schedule it. Then called to say it wouldn't be there on time and I needed to reschedule, and then told that the glass was already there so the date that had been cancelled would have worked but was not booked.

Replaced three (3) very large dining room windows. The original Pella windows installed 2002 were badly damaged. As the result of a change made in the formula used to treat the wood in the windows, these windows had rotted frames. Pella was sued in a class action suit that they lost to homeowners and as a result Pella replaced those homeowners windows (same type/model that we have on our home). We knew nothing about this at the time so we were not aware of this opportunity. That being said, we landed up replacing three windows and 5 sashes. I should have asked Pella for a discount given the facts. :-(

We literally laughed the Andersen guy out of our house when he priced out 18 windows at $75k, that went "down to $50k if we signed today to get the special price". We ended up choosing Pella because they were just a lot easier to deal with, no pressure sales pitch, let us break it out into stages, and still provide a pretty good warranty. The installation was seamless, once they left, there was no evidence anyone was even there working, and Pella replacements did not even shrink the size of the glass - it's a really good product in my opinion.

Pella took my number and had somebody call me back to help me out. But working with the supervisors was more of a rigmarole than I would have expected, especially when I'm paying a premium price for their product. I'm not talking to a guy on the floor of Home Depot or Lowe's. I'm paying a lot of money for Pella to come out and do the job. And it took more effort than I thought was necessary from a premium supplier like Pella.

Be cautious and make sure that you're clear on what work will be performed. The door trim on the inside of the house was the wrong color. It was brown. It was supposed to be white. The house is white on the inside. The door is brown on the outside, the door is white on the inside, but they had brown trim on the inside. So, we had this big circle of brown around this brand-new white door. Initially, they didn't wanna paint it the correct color. Eventually, they did, but it shouldn't have taken four phone calls and a couple of days to get it done. I had to go back and forth with the Pella office before they would come out and do something about it. I had to talk to three people. Finally, they wound up sending a painter out to have the trim with the correct color. So, it was not a flawless job by Pella.

Go step-by-step exactly what the work would be and what they would provide to make sure that you're not surprised by what the product is. Other than that, the two employees that installed the new door did a nice job and were very conscientious, prompt, kept the work area clean. I was very satisfied with their work. The painter who came out and put two coats of paint on it did a great job.

Everything was great in my experience with Pella. Matt was our rep and he was kind, personable and easy to work with. The installers were also very efficient. They took it out and popped the new one back in. It was easy. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Not everybody always does that. We had one little hiccup with the screen but they took care of that too. That was resolved and all is good.

The money they have cost us is really adding up and all our sales person said was - "Well it won’t hold you up on billing." Wow. Actually yes it has so far by three weeks. There is so much more that we are disappointed with but would take too long to list. We have built 3 homes and remodeled 4 so we are not new to the process. Maybe that’s why it’s so upsetting because we know it can be done so much better and more professional. Go to Mill Creek or one course if there is one near you. DO NOT use Pella.

Pella windows and sliding doors were used in our new built house. At the end of the first year we had problems with each sliding door. Our builders bought the windows and doors early but the entire building and closing was delayed several times due to materials being out of supply at the time. Since the builders bought them early we were past the time of receiving any help on them even though they were in use only for a short time. Know what you are getting with a Pella Warranty. They don’t look at reality and were not willing to do a simple fix after all we paid for in their products.

Deplorable! I would never recommend Pella windows to anyone. Run as far away as you can and don't stop at GO--it's not worth the money or the hassle. First, it takes forever to get anything done. Pella started my installation in January, we're now going into April, and they're still NOT DONE. The two supposed Project Managers (Stephanie and Justice) are horrible. They can't get anything coordinated with the workers. They tell you they will call you back and never do. In addition, Pella is extremely unethical. When our windows arrived, three of the windows were scratched on the inside (couldn't have been the installers) and Pella applied stickers over the scratches in hopes we wouldn't see them. Unfortunately, we didn't see the scratches until after install and stickers were removed. That's a pretty sad state of affairs Pella--especially how much we're paying for your windows.

Now, all three windows have to be replaced which is taking them even longer to complete the work. It gets better, so the stucco workers arrive to stucco in the windows. I have visible lines where the stucco wasn't applied good enough and one of the windows isn't even completely done. Made a phone call on Monday to let the Pella so called Project Manager know, it's now Friday and still haven't hear back.

DON’T BUY PELLA! Orlando distributor should be closed for incompetence! Salesman (or catalog) misrepresented “privacy glass” so now I have an entry door with a see-through window! The custom paint job completely missed the top of the window and the installation “by Pella professional employees” left the door with knicks and glue on it outside and a gouge across both doors on the inside. Customer service was rude at best despite the on-hold recording stating, “At Pella, we strive to exceed your expectations”.

No help from national Pella headquarters either so after 4 months of “We will make it right”, we were told they would repair and repaint on-site and offer NO COMPENSATION. It took 2 days to do the work so instead of a new door I have a repaired door that I now see warping at the top. I went with a national brand company thinking I would have a better product and better service, but it appears that my double entry hurricane-rated door that cost over $10,000 is a piece of crap and the installation and service were just as crappy!

If we could give them a negative rating, we would! The worst experience we have had when it comes to getting corrections done. The first cold spell we had showed us the windows didn’t have the proper gas in them due the condensation build up on the inside of all the windows. Still under warranty we had them come out to resolve the issue, at this time we come to find out not only the gas was wrong, but they were not high altitude. They agreed to replace them so the nightmare began. It took over a year to complete this disastrous mess. With having to deal with the following; missing window panes, broken window panes, missing window sashes, broken window sashes, not high altitude, and wrong sizes on just one. Finally we were down to one pane, unfortunately it took 7 different times to get the correct size, not to mention each time they had to reorder took an average of 7-8 weeks.

When it comes to our local Pella installers, which is 100 miles away, they are the worst when it comes to communication and follow up. You would think taking this long and having ones screw up after another we would’ve received a phone call from someone explaining things, but all we received was an emails from the installation company when the windows would be installed. After all this aggregation, our windows are still not correct because we still get condensation!

n alert to those who purchased a Pella Model 2007 entrance door: In 2007 we purchased and installed a new Pella model 2007 door. Pursuant to its 10-year warranty, in 2015 Pella replaced the 2007 door which had warped with a new same model door. In 2023 the new 2007 door again warped within about the same time period as the first 2007 door. However, Pella is refusing to honor its 10-year warranty on the new door and instead insists that the warranty applies from the date of original installation in 2007. This does not make sense. A new door, regardless of whether it was newly purchased or newly installed, should come with a new warranty. It should not be covered by an old warranty on the door it was replacing - -especially since the need for the replacement was for the same reoccurring condition.

To us, the fact that the same model door warped on TWO occasions within roughly the same time period, suggests that whatever was causing that particular model to warp was inherent in the design or construction and most likely was known but ignored by Pella. We feel that others, who might be in the same situation as us, should be made aware.

I came here to write a review of our brand new Pella windows thinking I might have some new information to impart. Seeing that over 76% of reviews give 1 star, and probably less if they could, I see we're not alone in our disappointment. Our new Pella windows are so drafty, I asked the manufacturer to come inspect thinking we had an installation problem. No problem he said, these are the windows. The glass can't keep out the cold (41 degrees - not that cold) so a breeze flows into our home from every window. I had wanted Milgard windows. We had them in our last house and never felt a breeze. When a window fogged up, they came and replaced it and unsolicited, found others and replaced those too.

Our architect (we'll be reviewing him next - same amount of stars) recommended Pella as a comparable product at a better price. NO WAY. This product is awful. We can't sit next to a window, even one covered by an insulating blind (had to get those to tone down the draft) without feeling the draft. I can't believe in 2023 Pella couldn't make a window you could sit next to in 40-degree weather. Wish I'd checked the reviews before letting the architect order these. Never again. This is expensive trash.

The interior of the door was not in the correct color, the exterior trim was provided in the wrong color also and the lock was not correctly installed. It is now scheduled to complete the last day of January, but we'll see if it actually is in an acceptable state at that time. Pella are not cheap doors and I expected to have a better customer experience going with them. I would suggest getting their product from a home improvement store, as the cost is probably cheaper and hopefully a better customer service experience.

Glass dirty with silicone. Chipped Interior wood sashes. Repeated deliveries of the incorrect parts (happened three times). Sashes do not open smoothly with latches hitting the window frames once you try to close them. A job that was supposed to last three months (from ordering to installation) is taking eleven months to complete and it is a relatively small townhouse Reno. In my experience quality control has tremendously decreased in the last three years and I don't find it worth going through this cumbersome process ever again.

Pella Austin is an incompetent, horrible organization. I was excited for my custom windows. This quickly dissipated w each Pella interaction. The salesman was late, & did not understand manufacturing lead times but was aware installers were backed up. I told him I would prefer Pella do the installation and paid my 50% down payment which included the installation cost. I also inquired about a permit & he said he would check. He did not get back to me on any of the issues in a timely manner. He called to tell me the lead time would now be 2 months & the install longer.

I asked again about the permit & he said he forgot and would check. I was then charged $500 measurement fee. Apparently they charge you this if they are not doing the install but this fee was not listed on the original estimate (he gave me one for Pella to do the install & one to just supply the windows which should have included the $500 measurement fee). I paid it because I was trying to finish before school started at UT as an engineering PhD student.

During this time I spoke to the sales manager Sandie ** in hopes of receiving competent customer service. At least Colin was nice. Sandie was horrendous and I am embarrassed for her as a female manager. Once I realized I could not work with her, I asked Colin again to follow up about the permit. A month passed, Colin forgot again & then e-mailed me that I would need to pull the permit & pay the $2k for the permit plus coordinate with the state. This is a violation in this county. **. I told him to cancel the install (even though Pella still held my 50% deposit).

I was eventually charged $450 (not previously mentioned in either quote) to have the windows delivered. The first attempt included an Enterprise truck with 2 non-uniformed workers who could not get the door open. Their return trip on Monday including them forgetting one of the windows. I did receive a $500 refund but not worth the stress. Note that they have terrible reviews on multiple sites and when they try to negotiate any reimbursements for the errors, they insist that you remove your reviews because they know how horrible they are.

I decided to replace all of the windows in my condo, a total of 12 for approximately $29,000. The person who came out and took measurements and gave me the quote was incredibly knowledgeable and nice. He walked me through all the options and colors and I thought this company was on the up and up. Once I signed the contract and cut them a check it all changed. They were supposed to come the Tuesday after Labor Day for two days and change everything out. Shortly after Labor Day I get the call there has been a delay, then they lost some windows, then some were the wrong size. Three days before Christmas (almost 4 months later) I get a call they are sending a large crew right now to replace the windows. I said this was not convenient and they said it was now or never. It was a nightmare, the crew was incredibly rude and did not want to be here.

The work was done fast and the guys ran all over my house making a mess which they did not clean up. One man yelled at my wife and made her cry. They did not finish that day. They did not even fully install the windows they replaced. I had to take an additional 11 days off work to accommodate their schedule. Example: They would call and to inform me that they were sending a crew out to caulk all the windows. I take time off work, the guy shows up....And forgot the caulk. So he leaves and says they will send someone else on a later date. Situations like this happened all the time. 11 days off work for 12 windows. They finally finished in mid March (7 months after the original quote).

In early October I called as 11 of the 12 screens over the windows had broke. It took 5 weeks for them to send someone out. I took today off work and when the guy got here to fix them, he told me he could only do 11 and they would send someone else to do the last one. So now I have to take more time off work so someone can come and fix one screen, that broke after a few months. Find another company - any other company. It would be better to not have windows than deal with Pella and their teams. I don't know how they are still in business.

We were quite pleased initially with the appearance and functionality but most of them started fogging up as the weather changed and we had a fair amount of condensation on the inside as well. I tried several things to resolve the problem (it COULDN'T be the windows - they're PELLAS!) over the years to no avail. Finally got through to their customer disservice people who told me to clean the vents between the panes of glass. After that didn't work (again - the problem is seasonal) they couldn't send anyone out to take a look at them.

Now most recently, one of the casement locks failed (cheap pressed metal parts) and after jumping through several hoops (with "Hanna V.") and taking pictures and dimensions, etc., they simply stopped responding and never even acknowledged my inputs. Once I finally got through to a disservice person (Michelle) on the phone who told me that parts are not available for 20-year-old windows. So the bottom line is ... I would give them zero stars if possible and I keep waiting to hear if there is an Architect Series Class Action Lawsuit that will go through. We purchased these windows in 2000 and have had nothing but headaches ever since. Pella did replace a good portion of them several times under warranty but the ones they would not replace just keep rotting more and more. The doors have been replaced twice and most recently I was told that the exterior doors got wet on the outside and that they have rotted. (Who makes an exterior door that cannot get rain on them.) The clad windows completely rot through and Pella tries to make you believe that it is your fault- Installation issue? Condensation issue? Any other issue until it gets out of warranty and they can claim that now it is out of warranty and I am out of luck.

The interesting thing is I have older windows from another manufacturer in some of my home and have zero issues with their windows. The latest is that Pella cannot bring up any of my file and so they have no proof on their end of any issue and will not let me send all my correspondence with them as proof. I do not understand why the more expensive architect series was removed from the class action suit and there must be some way of getting all of us together to deal with them and have this made right. By the way, as soon as I mentioned that there were lawsuits out there with respect to their windows, the manager said she could not talk to me anymore and hung up the phone. How is that for customer service! I am now in the process of replacing their rotting windows with another manufacturer.

BEWARE of the warranty period for custom-made Pella products. The warranty period starts on the day you pay for the windows NOT the day they arrive/install in your house. I bought custom-made Architecture series windows for my entire home ~10 years ago. My external door is now jammed and we cannot use it. If the warranty period had started the day of my installation, I would have been covered for the cost of parts. It took Pella 3 months for my windows and doors to be built. On the day of purchase, none of my custom products existed. They were raw materials.

Further, BEWARE that the post installation care at Pella, both local office and manufacturer, is terrible. I was bounced around between the two offices with no solution. In fact, you will not be able to call or email any of the Pella reps directly as they do not give out their contact information and they do not have voicemail at the local office. I was working with someone at the Pella Warrendale, PA office and could not leave messages for on voicemail or via email. Further, Pella manufacturers lied stating that my custom door was made in ~2 weeks, so they can further not goodwill honor my warranty. You will not get special attention even though you pay a premium for Pella products.

Are you a homeowner looking to begin the process of replacing your windows and want to go with a reputable company like Pella? You’ve saved up some money hoping to beautify and add value to your home, and are excited to invest in it? Well, please read about my experience before you decide to drop thousands of dollars on windows/doors with a company who likely won’t value your smaller account.

I have the original windows on my home and was hoping to replace 3 or 4 windows each year. Hoping to put value into my home I went with Pella because they have a reputation for having both a good product and name in my area. This has turned out to be a terrible mistake. Near the end of August they installed 3 new windows on my home. One window did not have all of the parts packaged upon installation and couldn’t be completed, while the other 2 had problems crop up immediately after they were installed. Both of the retractable screens on the other 2 windows did not work properly resulting in the inability to close one and open the other. The bedroom screen has literally been flopping in the wind for (checks today’s date) over a month, which led to marks on the glass and many middle of the night wakeups due to the obnoxious sound.

Multiple times I had to climb out on my roof to adjust these two windows as Pella would not fix them because they were waiting on parts for the other window, and weren’t about to make 2 trips to a small account. In addition to them not making this job a priority, they weren’t exactly easy to schedule with either. Large accounts likely don’t face this problem. So after waiting for over a month for parts, I stayed home from work to accommodate their schedule, only to have them no show. The project manager (Griffin) never once came out to inspect the job himself and took the approach of let the customer deal with the problems we created until it is convenient for us to fix them all at once. He even stopped responding for multiple business days in a row when problems got worse. This would not have happened with a large account.

Feeling lost when the project manager didn’t respond, I tried to get into contact with someone who might be able to help out. Well, it is really hard to find anyone who might be able to help out and the best I could do was get a response to a previous review that I left from someone named Veronica. She claimed to be in charge of this region and oversees the project manager. This person’s job seems to be telling the customer what they want to hear and then hope they go away. She was very eager to help at first, and the quickly stopped. I asked her to get me the name of someone who could help complete the job but she was not willing to put me into contact with anyone else in the company and just stopped responding to messages altogether after she offered an initial solution, which in hindsight didn’t solve anything. She deflected all requests and just sent me back to the project manager. This would not have happened with a large account.

So here I sit, over a month out from the install, with broken windows and nobody to reach out to with a real solution to fix them. The project manager hasn’t been able to get it done and the person who oversees him isn’t interested in responding with a tangible solution. If I were a large account there would have been multiple tech trips, constant communication, and responses to emails. Since I’m a 3 window job being done by a multi billion dollar company, I’m left on my own. This may not be everyone’s experience with this company, but it certainly was mine. Be careful!

If you read nothing else, please remember the name David **. This is the person from Pella you want to work with if you need window replacements and related contracting work done in the DMV area. * * * * Getting work or repairs done on your home is an undertaking. The reality is mistakes are going to happen that are outside of everyone’s control. What’s important to me is whether the company I am working with did everything to make the experience as perfect for me as a customer, even when things go sideways. That is what I loved about working with the Pella team, and if you are thinking about replacing your windows (and any surrounding surfaces of your home), you should seriously consider them.

PRE-CONTRACT: My neighbor and I reached out to Pella for a quote to replace the windows on both our homes, as well as all of the wood trim and siding (which was close to 20 years old at this point) with PVC and HardiePlank. Pella agreed to handle the entire project to ensure we had one single POC that we could work with, start to finish. This was a relief for us, as there were multiple contracts, multiple contractors, and multiple permits that needed to be coordinated and secured to get the project underway since our houses are in a historic district in Washington, DC.

THE LEAD UP: We experienced delays due to supply chain issues and permitting requirements. Pella kept us informed every step of the way, and provided discounts when the delay could have been prevented on their end. They had multiple team members come on site, take measurements, provide viz into how long the project would take once boots were on the ground, and ensured that the project would be above board for all relevant stakeholders (HOA, Historic Preservation Board, etc.).

BOOTS ON GROUND: Once lead-up concluded, they first sent out the window crew, which was led by Garcia and Edgar. Across both homes, there were 28 windows that needed to be replaced. The team knocked out replacement and installation in less than 48 hours for both homes. While the windows were being completed, the project manager, Hamed, realized that not all of the necessary materials needed to replace the trim and siding had been ordered. He put rush orders at no additional cost to us to make sure the materials were on site for when the windows were completed. We experienced no delays because of this. The siding and trim replacement team was led by a different project manager, Kim, and a separate crew, and they immediately picked up where Garcia and his team left off with no interruption. Within a week, all wood siding and trim paneling on our houses had been replaced, and the homes looked brand new.

MAJOR KUDOS: When the windows first arrived, we noticed that the windows for our neighbor’s home were different from ours. Because of where we live, this likely would have caused us serious headaches down the road with the relevant permitting parties, as our homes were supposed to be identical in terms of how they looked. It goes without saying, but 14 new windows are not cheap and cannot be easily ordered and replaced. Yet Pella knew how critical it was to the project that the houses be identical based on our prior discussions with them during the lead up to us executing the contracts. They replaced all 14 of these windows at no additional cost to us, and made sure to deliver the project as we envisioned it.

WHY I WILL WORK WITH PELLA AGAIN (AND WHY YOU SHOULD TOO): This was a complicated project. I am thrilled with the final product, but what I am most happy about is how Pella took care of us start to finish. More specifically, I would be remiss not to call out David Lage and his team for their support throughout all of this. While David technically operates in a sales function, and was our very first POC when we started working with Pella. When we had issues, he always advocated on our behalf and demonstrated customer obsession. He took charge as a project manager would when there was confusion surrounding the details of our project within Pella, and worked tirelessly to ensure the best experience for us.

If we had to go back and do it all over again, I would do it with David and his team in our corner. I can’t reiterate enough how appreciative I am of all the work David and the rest of the Pella team did. If you are in the market for a project like this, or simply replacing your windows, do yourself a favor and send David an email.

We chose Pella to replace pretty much all of our window and install a sliding glass door. The sales process was easy and the price was competitive. The problem at and after the installation. Pella's contracted installation team used the wrong kind of caulk and the caulking was sloppy like a preschooler had finger painted it on. The sliding glass door frame was bent on installation. The key fitting to the sliding class door was not installed. And a couple of the handles on interior windows were the wrong color.

Okay, I can live with mistakes. I run a service business. Companies that make mistakes but who make it right have my respect. Pell is not that company. Here's what went down: I called and spoke with a service rep who seemed to be taking notes on the issue and promised to call back within 48 hours. Weeks passed. I called a couple more times and sent pictures of the problems. When I finally reached someone, they could not locate any record of my calls or the pictures. They promised to call back to schedule a tech to come.

A few days later, I got an email with an appointment date and time set. The guy comes out two hours before the scheduling window. I guess this is just what buiders do so I won't ding Pella too much--it's their calendar--we just have to live with it. When he comes, I ask him what his understanding is of what needs to be done. He has two out of four issues (and the wrong color handles to replace). I explain that there are other issues I'd phoned in and his response was basically that it's not his department and he explains to me how their departments work. I don't care. I just want it fixed. At the end of the appointment, he says he'll have Pella call me to set up yet another appointment to fix the rest of the issues.

I want to reiterate that I am okay with mistakes when a company shows that they care and are willing and able to fix them. That is not Pella. So if you go with Pella and anything is not to your liking, expect to have to spend way more energy and time getting them to do anything about it than you should, and don't hold your breath that it will every get fixed.

It took a year and a half to get my storm door put on. They had to come out here five times. They can never get anything right. They put my entry door on and I wanted a storm door. They did not bring the extenders. Nothing is ever in stock so you have to wait forever. The extenders they sent were not thick enough. Another time they sent the wrong color. It's just been one issue after another. My door was paid for but before I even had it. I wish I would have read reviews about this company before I put money down on the door. Once you are locked in with that contract you cannot stop payment because you will lose out on your savings of paying the door off within a certain amount of time.

Customer service is awful! I reported them to the BBB but that really does no good. However, BBB has numerous complaints from this company. Even the contractors they hire have nothing good to say about this company. It's a screwed up mess! Stay away from them. Please heed my warning! Paula says they do not keep an inventory so every time they have the wrong product you have the opportunity to keep it if you wish. I'm sure this is one of the reasons why their product is so expensive. They have to cover for their mistakes constantly.

Received a quote from Pella for 4 windows and a side entry door. The windows were fine. The biggest issue was the door. They installed the wrong door!! They were supposed to install a glass door with no handle because we wanted an electronic lock which they didn’t offer. Order was placed, a follow up call was placed to us asking why we didn’t choose a door handle. That’s because we are buying our own with a key paid. They said OK not an issue. Come day of installation they install a door that is not compatible with a key paid. They say they cannot replace the door once it has been installed.

The best they can offer is a new door at cost from Provia not even from Pella, which is more than we paid for the original door. So they sold me a Pella door knowing they will have a better markup over their use of a Provia door. There was failure on the salesperson side and management. I am still trying to resolve and get answers, but they have ghosted me. Pella admits to the call and acknowledges a mistake has happened but won’t resolve any think. Do not use!!

I recently put in 4 Pella sliders in my home. 2 of the four had broken seals. One was fixed and the other warranty is out on labor so for a door put in less than a year ago I now have to pay 500 for Pella to come and fix the broken seal. I feel this is deceptive on Pella's part, on top of a terrible quality product. So upset I chose this brand!

FYI, be aware that if you're buying Pella windows for your new home, the clock starts ticking on your 2-year labor warranty when they're delivered to the builder, not when you take possession of your new home. We discovered damaged seals on some of our windows and reported them, but because they were delivered to the builder 8 months before the home was finished and we were beyond the two-year anniversary of that date, they won't honor the 2-year labor warranty. Awful customer service!

I ordered some window parts directly on the Pella website. Before I ordered I made sure the arrival date was going to work for me. It's been 15 days since I ordered today so I contacted customer service to get an update. Customer service told me that the parts won't ship for another 15 days and will take 7-10 days to arrive. I told them that it wouldn't work for me, the parts are taking over a month more than what was scheduled at the beginning. I asked them to cancel order and refund but they are refusing.

The Sales manager sold us our doors over the phone in January 2023. He told us we should receive them in 2 months. That's reasonable. We finally had them installed the end of April only because I harassed the project manager team. I had to leave numerous phone calls and emails. No one returns calls. Finally the day comes for installation to find out one door is damaged. However the installers were great. It's now July 31st and again it's us actively calling Pella in Jacksonville to find out about our replacement door and when to expect it to be delivered. No return calls. We finally get an email for October for installation. Not happy!

I am reviewing Pella Windows & Doors of CT and NY. My order took over 1 year and 5 months to complete, with a comedy of errors along the way. Mistake on window counts on the original order, resulting in an approximate $10,000 increase to the order cost. There were extensive delays for the windows to be shipped (not the Pella installer's fault). Installer did not call before arrival for the delivery of the windows (as promised). Installer ignored my instructions for the window staging location in my garage (could have been avoided, had I known they were at my house, delivering windows).

At the first installation appointment, the installer was unaware that window shipment was short several windows, so another installation date had to be scheduled. The window grilles could not be completed at that install visit, so another date was scheduled. On the next install date, they realized some of the grilles were broker and had to be reordered. On the next install date, they missed installing one of the grilles. On the next install date, a small part for the final grill was missing. On the next install date, they didn't show-up. The credits applied along the way for this unbelievable series of errors was inadequate, especially considering the inordinate amount of my wasted time (six separate install dates). The windows are nice, but the installation experience was appallingly poor.

I purchased five Pella Architectural Sliding doors for my lake house. One of the screens stopped retracting so I called Pella service. The guy came out and said I needed new springs and Jennifer would send me a quote. I received the quote to a tune of 1800.00 dollars to replace the entire roll screen. I wished I had never purchased Pella.

I have come to know that my 2011 contractors (cheaper) door offered more quality than this door I purchased 8 months ago. If you are searching for a door make certain that if anything happens to the glass that it can be repaired. My nearly $400 door, not including handle (separate purchase) met with someone’s pellet that was shot into the lower glass pane. Shattered.

I will have to purchase an entire new door and perhaps even system as it is not repairable according to the Pella personnel I have spoken with over the phone. Plus there is no warranty for this problem. My older door allowed for upper panel and lower panel to be extracted and replaced if needed. It is an important feature for me. Make certain that the glass panel in the doors that you are purchasing can be repaired.

We purchased a door from Pella, the Orlando branch, over 2 years ago. Last year we finally got the door installed, the door was not inspected prior to delivery and installation. When the door was being installed, and our previous door was already removed, we noticed our new door was damaged. Pella order a new panel and a year later we are still waiting for the them to fix the door and complete the installation job that was not finished.

We are sitting almost 3 years later with a damaged unfinished door. We have been tirelessly calling to get updates and there has been zero response. We have been told by the horrible customer service team that they are waiting for the panel and that the project manager will call back with updates, and there has been no calls back at all. We love our home and this has been a huge disappointment and challenge to deal such an irresponsible company. We paid a lot of money for the door, and its poor workmanship, customer service is absent, quality is poor, and management is unresponsive. It's unfortunate to find companies that want to take advantage of their customers and sell you dreams. I will never recommend Pella products to anyone.
