They will not follow through. First visit I was told would be an 45 min. to an hour, with full report. Never got a report. Took 10 minutes. Ask where I saw the bug, sprayed and left. One day after he left I had a bigger problem than before he came. My tile floors were black from all the bug. I called and was told, "Oh that's too bad. You get more bugs in your home this time of year. Tell your guy next time he comes out". He also said oh well too bad I must have stirred something up. Then we started to have mice in our kitchen. All they did was give us some traps to put down ourselves, so I call for my money back, was told he will be out tomorrow to fix between 3-5pm and hung up on me.
This time he put 2 traps down, put some foam in a hole and left. After our year was up they keep coming even though I asked our guy not to. We could not afford to pay that much. Still had a problem with mice and spiders. So I called, left a voice mail telling them that if they are not going to do anything to help give me my money back and stop coming out and that I would like to talk to someone so to please call. Never called, so I called again. Once again I was told they will not give me my money back but will send someone today. So once again my husband leaves work early. The guy spent 2 minutes taking pictures, said his team will figure out what to do and call back. That was 4 months ago! Nothing. No calls, no money. So I had a contractor and my dad and I all worked to get the mouse problem fixed.

The people were very efficient and took the time to explain what they were doing. The cost was very affordable. I love dealing with Orkin Pest Control. The people that I have dealt with are very friendly and very efficient. They call ahead to make sure I'm home. When spraying they spray in every place that I ask with no questions asked. I would recommend this company to anyone. My rating would be excellent and a high five.

They are wonderful. Always check to see if we have issues, always knock down wasp nests for me and they make sure we have no ants in the house and no fleas in the yard. They come in between appointments if requested at not cost. I've used other services. None were this good. They use special chemicals that won't bother asthmatics without asking! Excellent service and attention to detail. I always get a call the night before my tech comes. He has serviced my home for years.

I am 78 years old, living on a fixed income. I live in Fort Sumner NM. A few years ago I needed pest control so called Orkin. My closest provider is in Amarillo TX. The Orkin man came over a few times that year and has a few times in the years since. In October I got a telephone call from a technician telling me he was coming the next day. I was out of town and told him not to come. I told him I couldn't afford it, that I was gone and that I didn't want him to come. He called back later and apologized but told me he HAD to come and spray the outside of my house. Then I got a bill for $80.95. My Social Security is just $559 per month. So I wrote the Amarillo office and they told me I had signed a form giving them authorization to come every month, even when I was not home.
I told them I hadn't given such authorization. They then sent me a form that I had initialled over two years before. I had initialled it, but it was for a specific situation and nothing that I ever intended to be in effect eternally. Now I am getting overdue notices. I have written them, have written the Better Business Bureau in Amarillo, with no response except overdue notices from a lady named Janice. I pay my bills, but I don't feel that this bill was ever justified. I told him not to come. The technician said he understood but that he had no choice since his manager was insisting that he come. I don't ever want to hear the name Orkin again. I've told all the people at the Senior Center and at my church to stay away from Orkin. This is very upsetting to me. Can you possibly help me? I don't know where else to turn.

Before contract ORKIN guarantee to eliminate the mice from house and I paid more $550. They spent more than 6 months and could not find from where the mice come. They are still coming from outside. In my opinion this company is literally incapable of controlling the rodents and have no idea how to stop them. They just take money every month and ultimate result is zero. Their service is poor. If you are looking to control the rodents or mice better look any other company. They just look for your money. They have no expert and no idea. So do not--do not hire this company at all.

Orkin automatically schedules quarterly service calls. This past October, the Saturday appointment they scheduled for me was not convenient, so I called and left a message to reschedule. I never got a call back, and the technician showed up anyway. He called to ask why no one was home. I rescheduled with him then for a different Saturday. The day of the rescheduled appointment he never showed up or called, and no one answered at the office or returned my messages. The following business day, I called the office reschedule for a diff entry Saturday. The day of that appointment the SAME EXACT THING happened! When I called the following Monday, they told me our usual tech no longer works for them, as if that somehow explains why they couldn't keep the appointment they made. They offered to send a different tech on a weeknight in an attempt to make up for their blunders.
I explained that we were told in the past that since we work until five we can only have a Saturday appointment, but the office scheduler assured me she was making a note for the tech to come after 5:45 when we would be home. Well, he showed up at four, and called me at work to say he won't come back after five because by then he is "home cooking dinner." When I called the office, they basically accused me of lying about the appointment time since they "would never schedule like that." I know what time I get out of work every day. Why would I make an appointment that I couldn't keep? Especially after waiting for over a month for them to show up! They offered to give us our next visit free, but I felt that was just way too risky. I am absolutely shocked at the lack of professionalism and reliability at this Orkin location.

My husband called Orkin for a 1 time pest treatment. He was talked into signing a 1 year contract for pest control AND complete termite treatment for $938, and the full amount was charged on my Visa card. He was not well when talked into those services and passed away 28 days later. I was shocked when I got the credit card bill. I called Orkin, and asked what the charges were for. When she told me about the termite contract, I told her that we had the house treated for termites 5 years earlier. All she would say was "we got his signature." The manager was unwilling to make any adjustment on the bill and just kept saying "he signed the contract." I feel like Orkin took advantage and I will never do business with them again. Buyer beware!

I had a bed bug problem for the first time in my home of 20 years so when I googled for exterminators, Orkin was top of the list so I called them. They confirmed an appointment for the next day but couldn't give me a time so I waited all day. Around 4pm I called only to be told I wasn't on the schedule for that day. Nobody told me they'd be here today. I was desperate enough to let them reschedule and they did make it the next time. Not only did they not do a good job in the basement but they completely missed my bedroom. I had no bug problems anymore in those other rooms but still a bad invasion in my bedroom but I stuck it out til the 4th week. I texted the guy who told me I may text him if I need them before they came back. He never did reply to me.
Next day I called the office and we set up an appointment for the next morning anytime before I had to leave at 12:30. I set my alarm clock for 7:00, got all ready in case they came at 8:00. Waited all morning til 11:00 when I called to see what's going on. Once again, I was told I wasn't on the schedule that day, nobody told me they were coming over, oh no, they're coming over Friday! At this point I'm about to boil over and asked if she was calling me a liar?
My second time with them both no show with same excuses so I told her this business practice is just completely unacceptable and take my contract and tear it up as I'm going to go with another exterminator. When I went to hunt for one, I couldn't believe what popped out at me on Google; 395 complaints against Orkin! The very first review had exactly the same complaint as mine and more too. Stay away from Orkin! When I told her to tear up my contract, she just said okay; could it possibly be they're very used to that now? Shame on them!

So I paid for a yearly service with orkin and September was my last month for the service. They came and at same time they came had a contractor about something else. Told Orkin guy I had something digging under my porch and he said they dont do that service. Orkin said they were done and asked for signature which we signed not thinking had walk around, make sure the work was completed. Well big mistake. Walked around hour later to see I had cobwebs all over my back porch still and I have wasps fly all over my front porch because there nest in steps.
Well I never received a bill so I assumed they weren't charging me because nothing wasn't completed, so I tried take care of the nest myself... and a month and week later I received a bill for that day when nothing was done. And orkin says because signed orkin paperwork that I have pay for that service. I was like "well if you come out and take care problem I will pay for bill", but because it was over month ago they won't come out without charging me again. And then there like I had service set up in November which I clearly told them when called last time I do not want service again from them. Orkin does not care if their customers are happy at all, and it's because if there issue they send service guy back on their own time. I was told this by one of service guy. They don't pay them, so why would things get don't correctly. Do not trust this company, is not worth all money they charge.

I made an appt for a specific time and date and I confirmed with my tenant that she would be home and she rearranged her schedule as a school teacher to be there. Well they never showed up or called. So when I called they made it for a week later their mistake. Then they keep it for the date they originally made and again the school teacher changed her schedule and had to get sub to cover her class. Once again they never showed for the original that that made. They come the next day late and she happen to be home.
So 30 day later they had to come back again and of again problems with their communication. SO a few months went by and I decided to give them a try for a termite inspection. We schedule a time and the day of the inspection they called to confirm my appt and I thought great this time they are coming out and finally got it right. WELL I waited until 7 pm and nobody showed up and nobody called. THEY ARE A HORRIBLE COMPANY. The next day I called Terminix and they did exactly as they said on time and to the point. NEVER NEVER USE ORKIN.

We had problems with moles in our yard. I contacted Orkin Pest Control in March of 2016. A salesman came out to the house and I showed him the mole activity. He assured me that Orkin could help. I signed a contract and at this time I was led to believe by the salesman that the service was good until Oct 2016. I paid the fee of $475.00 and we set up a time for a technician to come out. A couple of days later the technician came out, set a couple of traps at the back edge of the yard, spread some mole deterrent around and left. It took him about ten minutes That was the last time I saw or heard from anyone!!! I called the salesman just about every week and he promised that someone would be out soon. Well, that never happened.
In July, I finally called the office and talked to a manager who told me that these contracts only go for TWO MONTHS!! I told him that the salesman led me to believe that it would go until Oct. After talking to the salesman he finally agreed to honor this and told me that they would continue the contract until Oct 2016 and that a technician would be out to the house the following week. That was the last time I heard from them. Not only did they literally steal my $475, they continually lied to me. This company will not honor their contract and their words are lies!!! Do business with at your own RISK!!!

I recently inquired with Orkin about a "possible" infestation issue in my home. Upon calling customer service, I was told that there would be a fee for an inspection. After calling a few places, I found that Orkin was the only company that does not do a complimentary inspection. I asked the customer service line to give me a ballpark figure of what we'd be looking at price wise, as I already had two other quotes, and she let me know, in a very snarky and rude tone, that their company does not do business that way and she had noted my file that I was just "price shopping and not a serious consumer." I am also a small business owner with a corporate contract with Orkin (that I did not mention during my initial phone call) and will be discontinuing service with them due to their poor customer service.

Originally I subscribed to this service in the month of August for an issue with carpenter ants. After calling Orkin out numerous times within the first two months, we noticed that we no longer saw any ants. Since we subscribed to a year long service, we expected to continue to get treatments. Unfortunately, this is when we found out how unreliable and unprofessional this company was. The tech that treated our house when we originally signed up left the company. After that a different technician would come out to spray without warning or a schedule and then I would be billed.
Most of the winter months I would come home from work and see a sticker on my door that said my billable service was completed that day and that since I was not home they treated the outside. In January when there are no bugs outside. Each time I would call the office and complain, but this situation persisted, until my year long contract was up. I would never recommend this company to anyone!

On March 12, 2016, we had to treat our home for bedbugs. We paid the $95 inspection fee, and the house was treated. We paid $1050 which included the $95 inspection fee. For 5 months now, we've had to deal with collection notices stating we owe $95. We contacted Orkin and spoke with several managers, and they said, "No need to pay - already paid in inspection." That was told to us by Ken **, Orkin Manager. We also spoke with Anthony **, and he said it would be taken care of and removed. He apologized for the inconvenience. Today, I received a collection notice from Revenue Group, which means Orkin Corp. sent our account to collections. I have all my receipts including the one that proves we paid the $95. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I am not sure if the poor customer service is a reflection of Orkin as a national brand or just the Raleigh office (I am in 27604 if there are multiple offices)... but wow. I was misled about their services/free inspection from the first call during the sales process. Their follow up protocol was not followed through on as well. I am in sales myself and if I misled or did not deliver on my promises and protocol with my own clients, I would not have any clients. Though the individual employees are nice when you speak with them, their processes leave a lot to be desired. Cancelling services and calling one of their competitors ASAP.

South Jersey Orkin... Called the Office to schedule another treatment for bed bugs and the Office manager had an extreme attitude as if I'm wasting their time. The bugs kept traveling from one room to the next. They said "next time you see them capture it and put the bugs in a ziplock bag." I did called the office to get another visit. Finally the rude office manager said that we cannot receive anymore treatments. I explained to her that my wife has metastatic breast cancer and on hospice care and I don't want her to live her final days being bit by bed bugs. She didn't show any sign of remorse over the phone and continue to say nothing they can do. I felt coming out of this like I was robbed because we didn't get needed help that 1200 paid for.
By the way On the follow up visits they didn't fog like the initial visit. They used a spray that you can buy over the internet yourself. How do I know? The guy wouldn't leave me with spray bottle. He told me I can buy it. Do yourself a favor and research how to do it yourself. Don't waste your time and money with these insensitive people.

After first spray, guy comes back a week later to see if all clear. I tell him I have found at least 2 live ones just days ago. He says all is clear, sometimes a couple get away from spray. Continue to find more, so have second spray, then 3rd. No longer under contract. Couldn't have them back. And why would I since they don't know how to terminate them! The guy who came here didn't even seem educated on carpet beetles. He tells me the marks on your body come from their bites which they do as they lay eggs. NOTHING anywhere says they bite. The marks on your skin come just from skin contact with bugs!

I called in to speak to someone in customer service because no one had responded to my online inquiry. After the woman gave me the breakdown of services and the prices I asked her if this was a contractual agreement where we HAVE to have all 6 treatments or if after the first 2 we don't see any improvement can we cancel the next 4 treatments without penalty or hassle. She literally refused to give me a yes or no answer to my question and instead told me repeatedly if we didn't do all 6 treatments it would be a waste of our money and a waste of their time. So I clarified my question and still received the same answer. I told her if I can't have a clear explanation of what it is I am signing up for then I didn't want their services. I chose Orkin because I know they have been around for a long time but the customer service was beyond disappointing and very frustrating. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I requested pest control services for my home in San Antonio, TX. When I spoke with the representative on the phone, she quoted me one price of $77 and was very confident in the services that Orkin could provide. I specifically asked if this was the price I would be charged for the initial inspection and services. She stated "there would be no additional charge". Upon arrival, Alfred **, whose attitude and initial demeanor was very unpleasant, looked around the home in less than 5 minutes and determined that because of what he "perceived" to be an infestation the prices of the services would be an additional $50, bringing the total to $127.
I explained to him what the representative quoted me, and I was not informed that there could be a potential increase in costs upon inspection. He continued to argue with me and tell me that the representatives follow a script and that the customer service agent did in fact tell me that there would be an additional costs based upon inspection. He was adamant that this was the case. I was not told by Wanda the customer service rep that there would be an additional increase in costs; in fact she quoted me the discounted rate of $77. It would not make sense to give me a discounted price and then subsequently be charged the same amount ($50) of the discount upon inspection.
Mr. ** was rude, practically accused me of being dishonest for disagreeing with him that the representative told me there could be an increase in cost upon inspection. He came into my home with an attitude from the start and without conducting a thorough inspection, surmised we had an infestation... which turned out to be inaccurate based on the inspection of another pest control company. Mr. ** did not represent your company well, and certainly left a bad impression with me. I initially selected Orkin because of the reviews, the commercial and the fact that your company has been around for some time. But based on this experience, I would not recommend Orkin because of the bad customer service, misrepresentation of prices and not honoring the prices initially quoted. Sounds like a racket to me.

A year ago, when my termite inspection was due. I received a unscheduled visit by a Orkin person to do the inspection. The first time in 25 years my attic was inspected, I was informed that I had field mice. Next I was told that my crawl space needed a new moisture barrier. Orkin placed the original barrier in my crawl space and 4 automatic vents.
I was so angry that I called the Raleigh office with my complaint. I was told that Orkin will do a home inspection. And report the findings to the customer. Never informing the customer that this service will be done and not scheduling with the customer. I spent $800.00 with another company to inspect my attic and my crawl space. No mice. I did have a new moisture barrier placed. When my annual renewal was due I decided to pay in installments, because of my anger with the company, they decided that they no longer wanted me as a customer. They thought that because I am a senior over 75 years of age a female that they could take advantage of me and make additional money by selling something that I did not need. After 25 years with the company because I decided to pay installments they terminated my service with the company. May 2016.

My husband and I moved into a new apartment 6 months ago. We found bed bugs had infested our bedroom and most likely our living room because they woke me up in the middle of the night and I went out to lay on the couch after hours of itching and scratching. I just didn't realize what was until we found them! So our apartment manager called Orkin. The Orkin Man came in to inspect. He said, "What do you think the problem is?" Very rude. I said, "Look down at the mattress, that's what the problem is." Oh, then he put on latex gloves, looked at the mattress, looked at the couch and said he'd report his findings to the manager. He came back to exterminate, we came home and found a bed bug crawling across the mattress! I called Orkin, they were very apologetic, however, it's a commercial account so our manager has to make the call. She just happened to be off for 3 days!
When we were finally able to have management get Orkin back to our home, he came in and again very rude and said, "What is going on?" I said, "We still have bed bugs." He looks around again, says "It looks good," he'll be back in 2 weeks! "Really, I've caught at least one every day since you exterminated and I know what I'm looking at!" He told me to catch what I see with scotch tape, bag it, write exactly where I found it and he'll be back! They are crawling on the floors, walls, ceiling! I'm paying almost $1400 a month and I'm sleeping on the balcony. I cannot go into that apartment until I really, really, really have to use the bathroom. AWFUL SERVICE, ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!

I do not like Orkin because I gave them authorization to charge my debit card on July 1st for what I owed them for service. I was checking my bank account online and saw that they had already charged my card and caused my account to be overdrafted. I called their office and spoke with Rhonda who said it was her fault that she did it by mistake and did some sort of adjustment right after.
Well, it is the following week and I am still being charged overdraft fees at my bank. The bank will not do anything about it and Orkin manager, Sean, in San Antonio TX said there was nothing he could do. How long should it take to refund money you take in error? Their attitude was that they could not care less about me or my patronage. Well, they will definitely not have my patronage any longer. I had not received a call from them telling me of their error. If I had not looked at my bank account online I would never have known about it.
This makes me so afraid about my money. I will never give my account information out again and if anyone does not like it then they do not get my business. Be afraid if you are using Orkin and they have your bank account information. Their attitude is just so terrible. He said when this gets settled they would give me credit for my overdraft fees--but it would be credited to my account with Orkin, not to my bank account. Well that is not helpful because I do not plan to use Orkin again because of this horrible experience. It would not matter nearly so much if I had money. The Orkin employee came into my apartment. He was rude, impatient to me. "So you said you have bed bug." He did not even do an inspection, told me he could not spraying my apartment because it was not ready. It was in one of those mattress protectors of my box springs and mattress plus it was wrapped in 6 mil. plastic and duct tape. I showed him a homemade trap for bed bugs. He did not even know what the bed bugs were inside of it.
I have spent over $300 trying to clear this problem out on my own, come to find out he's a friend of the manager. He spent more time in the office with her than doing his job. I'm very frustrated. I cannot afford to continue to treat mild problem when it is legally the owner of the building's responsibility but he has told her things. Had Orkin to get rid of German Cockroaches a few years back. It only 4-5 months on a monthly visits. He sprayed used bait traps to prevent the females from reproducing. After the 5 month they change our guy that did the treatments, and change our dates, trying to withdraw the money on a different date trying to overdraw my account. Now we called them back again. They set us up on a yearly plan. But this time it was every other month. The guy used a strong dose the first time. We called him back after a month. He sprayed only the areas that we said we seen them not the whole house. Pretty much pointless. The sprayed areas only drove them to other areas of the house.
The last time he told me he's using a less strong dose, which I wouldn't think that's right. I believed to use a strong dose every time until they're gone completely. Not using the same methods the last guy used to prevent them from reproducing, spraying the house is too far apart. My wife and I decided to cancelled. The guy told my wife we have to give a 30-day notice. So I called the main office, the lady told me we couldn't cancel the year contract. She asked who told me, I told her. Then she said she'll have service manager call me back. Which that's been hours now. I expect a response in a couple hours not days. Which I think is a bunch of BS. If you're not satisfied of the service you should be able to cancel and go somewhere - someone else that can get the job done.

It's only been a little over eight months now that I have had Orkin Pest control. I woke up in bed one night covered in blood. Didn't see what was tearing me up so bad. I went to the hospital because I couldn't breathe. I was black and blue all over. Found out bed bugs did this to me so I called three pest control companies. Orkin was who I wanted because of the man who is the manager, he said "Don't worry. I promise I'll get rid of them." As time went by things got worse. Those bugs killed my 13-year old siamese cat.
After he passed last Sept I had already paid over $650 which was my amount I had to pay and the state was paying the rest. Things started to get better until around Dec so I text the manager and asked if I could get a spray. He then said that he wasn't going to because the state hadn't paid their half so I called the lady who was helping me and she took care of it so I could get a spray. I've only had four sprays from them and I still have the bugs. He lied to me about getting rid of them. I've lost everything my son's ever made or gave me. I had to get rid of everything in my house and now he told this new guy I have to pay to get a spray.
I don't have the money or the help to get this done. I feel like everything he said was a lie as it was at the beginning. He said some of my cancer meds made me see things that weren't there. I lost it on him. My meds are my business, not his. I don't know what to do because of him wanting to charge me again. There's so much more that has happened because of him. I can't get bit by those bugs. They will kill me. I've been in the hospital already two times because of this and I don't know what or who to call to get something done.
Please if anyone can help me I need to know what can I do, who can I call. I'm truly lost and very scared, everything he said was a lie. I'm very clean and having this I can't even have my grandkids over. No one. I don't want anyone else to go through what I have had to. The commercials they show on tv tells you "if you see a bug, we'll come back." No not here in Michigan, never. I've called and text but no one comes. Truly heartbroken.

I saw the add for Orkin and thought we would give them a try. I called and was told by a pleasant young lady that I could sign up for one year of Orkin control for over $300 per year for one pest or over $500 per year for multiple pest. I said I wasn't interested in a year contract and just wanted someone to come out for just one time to look for a nest and over a solution. I was told an appointment for a service person to come out for an inspection was set up. So today that service person came out. This service man first off came in to the house and never took off his shoes (could be company policy) He then looked around the house while I explained what was going on.
He used a flashlight to look into some exposed joist in our laundry room, but beyond that did not make any effort into looking anywhere else in the house for signs of where the ants may be coming from (he is the professional supposedly so I thought he would take a more thorough look.) Based on what I told him he said it sounded like they were carpenter ants. We then went outside at which time he explained that the carpenter ant nest could be up to 300 feet away from our house, and that finding the actual nest was uncommon. (I looked online and he is not completely wrong, nests can be found a fair distance from the house.) I asked what my options were and he suggested one of the 2 - one year plans that I mentioned above. He looked around the yard, but not once do he actually examine the exterior of my house to see if he could determine where the ants were getting in.
The service man said the ants don't eat the wood but burrow in it to live (again this is true as I looked it up.) He looked at a couple rotting stumps but never examined them closely to see if there was any ant nest in them. I mentioned I had been using ant baits I bought from Canadian tire and that some of the ants we were finding in our house were dead. The guy said that the ant bait could be working and suggested I wait before making a decision on a year contract with them (the first and only helpful piece of advise I got.) I then saw a few ants on our front sidewalk and asked him what they were. He said they were pavement ants, and were common. I then showed him a carcass of an ant that I took from inside my house. He said "ya, that's a carpenter ant" when am no genius, but when I compared the pavement ant and "carpenter ant' they looked the same to me. I then asked if he could spray today.
He said no he was far to busy and wouldn't be able to return until June 1st. (Really, how long does it take to spray around the exterior of the residence?) He then went on to say Orkin was having this bug display event in London and they were looking for volunteers to man the booth, to which he added he was not going to do that either. This guy was unprofessional in appearance (I can understand a dirty shirt, it's a dirty job; however he looked unkempt) and his attitude was poor. He offered not assistance other than to try and get me to sign up for a year plan (I know that's what they do.)
Needless to say I will not pay over $300 dollars for them to spray. Oh, ya, this little visit which took 15 minutes cost me over $80.00 for nothing other than "ya, you got ants." Really helpful. My suggestion to anyone looking at pest control is stay away from Orkin and try and find a locally owned pest control business, or look online and get advise for a do-it-yourself solution which I did.

Orkin - these are either total incompetents or crooks. I cannot begin to explain how seething with anger I am at this service run by crooks and liars. My elderly mom's very expensive facility is immaculately clean. I don't know how she got bedbugs. Orkin came and said the problem was contained after they did one treatment. They made it seem so easy. Within hours after they left my mother was bitten eight times, even worse than before they did their treatment. The Orkin had assured me the problem was easy and taken care of.
He is given the company line and delivers it so smoothly and is so reassuring you want to believe it but he's a company robot who doesn't care and doesn't know his job. I don't know how these guys sleep at night. My mother is over 90. If they can't solve the problem at least they shouldn't lie that they can. They literally made the problem worse. Don't use them!

Last week I was told I had a huge bedbug infestation in my apartment. The evidence was from a situation I was in 4 years ago. This Representative was very hateful and argumentative with me. On Tuesday he came to see if things were ready for treatment. After inspecting the bedroom and living room he stated, "You don't need to do anything to the kitchen or bathroom." As he walked toward the door, he spotted an antique table near the bathroom door.
With a hateful tone he spat out, "THAT has to be emptied for treatment." I ask him to lift the tabletop and explain what I had to do to be ready. When he lifted the top and found the floor staring at him, he knew he was in trouble. Instead of placing the top back, he dropped it from about his armpit height. That table is about 200 years old and irreplaceable. His actions have sunk my opinion of Orkin to about 60 feet below the level of whale dung at the bottom of the ocean. It will take an awful lot for me to ever have any respect for the company ever again. I have been in contact with an attorney and will continue to consult him as to recourse.

We had a yearly contract with Orkin to inspect and treat our home for carpenter ants since 2014. In June 2015, we reported seeing carpenter ants on our front porch. An Orkin tech came to our home and reported no ant activity and treated the perimeter of our home with pesticide. He continued to report no ant activity and treat the perimeter of our home with pesticide throughout 2015. Each time, we were charged $77.00, with a total cost of $385.00. On April 13 of this year, the Orkin tech again inspected our home and once again reported no activity for carpenter ants.
Several days later, we determined that the two front posts of our front stairs railings were completely destroyed by carpenter ants. We contacted Orkin on April 25, 2016 to request service, and were told that our Orkin Tech would contact us, which he never did. Instead, we arranged for another exterminator service to take care of our carpenter ant problem, which cost $300.00. The repair of the posts, which were hand made, will cost $1000. Do not use Orkin!!! They will take your MONEY AND DO NOTHING TO PROTECT YOUR HOME!!! IF I COULD, I WOULD GIVE THEM NEGATIVE 1000 STARS!!!

I had Orkin Pest Control for few years and they been doing treatments for roaches and ants. Every month I would have same treatments done same apartments as well so when I looked into the ant problem and found out what kind of ant we had, I asked Orkin tech as did he know what kind of ant we had and he had no clue. "So you are doing treatments but yet not sure for what?" When I told him that I had researched and told him that we had Pharaoh ants and that he been giving them wrong baits/which means when you do that this colony will split and spread like wildfire throughout your building. And that he been doing that for at least 3 years at my property So go figure how big of a problem this was.
After talking to his Manager he did not want to acknowledge that this was their problem and that we would have to pay for new service which was around 20k to get rid of the problem which they created in first place to begin with. That is what your pest control is suppose to do right? Fix your problems not spread the problem and then want to charge for it. When I told him that we would not pay for this service do to them making it this bad and that they need to fix this.
He then told me that they do not treat for Pharaoh ants and that is not part of the contract. Hehe right. But yet their commercial says IF YOU got any pest problems we handle that. And in the contracts it had ants for it. I guess when you sign that contract you better ask them will you spread the problem and then have me pay for that too and if that is in your contract. Spread the problem The more treatments we do the better and more money we get. And if I could I would not even give them 1 star. I would give them negative 10 stars.

I had a real carpenter ant problem needing exterminating right away. I called Orkin. They made appt for me on Sat at 9:00. Great, accept, so I didn't call around any other exterminator figuring I was taken care of. Then I needed to change my appt for Fri. I am a single business owner, home owner, work every day. I called four times to get a response to my inquired appt change. They could not get through to the local Orkin people who supposedly I had an appt with on Sat. Never got a answer.
Orkin central just said, "we sent them a message, they are suppose to respond," yadda yadda. On fourth call I threatened to find another exterminator if I didn't hear back. The local Orkin exterminator finally called me back. He was very apologetic then informed me, to my horror, he had no such appt on Sat. I had no appt set up. Wow. He stated the local branch only comes out, from the nearest city, on Thurs.
If I would have been given proper knowledge, I could have set it up that day which was the day he returned my message, which was for days after I called and made appt. So I thus had to call around to get another exterminator and all were very busy. I couldn't get someone out 'til the following Monday while my roof is being destroyed by termites or carpenter ants. If I hadn't have been insistent trying to rearrange my appt, I thought I had, I would never had known I didn't have an appt. Would have sat waiting for two hours. After running my day, I wouldn't have been able to get another exterminator out for another week.
I am so upset with them. I'm glad I didn't pay upfront for a non-existing appt I had. If that's the customer service you get from a large co. who doesn't give their employees the right info, the right training or any follow up, I'd never want to deal with them. Call your local service reps who don't have callers or customer care people overseas trying to set up appt for you. My recommendation, don't do Orkin.

I had an ant problem when I moved into my house and called Orkin to take care of it. I paid for the original service and then follow-up every 60 days. They got rid of the larger ant problem, and although I still have some ants, I live in Florida so it's a never-ending battle. My issue is with their scheduling. I have told them I work 9-5 M-F so I need a tech to come Saturday so the interior can also be sprayed. I get random calls on a Wednesday saying they're at my house and since I'm not home they just sprayed the outside. The techs do not call beforehand to say they're coming the next day.
When I called back to have follow-up service on a Saturday, the customer service acts as though it's my fault for not being home, although nobody ever calls to confirm a time before they show up. I then scheduled a time for 10-12 on a Saturday, and the tech never came. I called his number, left a message, heard nothing back. I've been trying for three weeks to get someone to show up to spray the interior of my house. I wouldn't recommend this company unless you have nothing to do but sit around all day waiting for them. I called, spoke with a rep, like what I heard and signed a contract. Then the problems began. Our initial Orkin tech had been ok at first. His first time here we went over where we would see them and about how many. After he checked the house and treated, he stated that it should be taken care of in a short time and we shouldnt see any. Then he would come out and say he didnt see anything in certain areas so he didnt treat that area.
One time I went right to that area cause I KNEW he was incorrect, yep there were bugs. THEN the next time he was talking to my husband asking for a key to our house, so he could come and go when he wanted and wouldnt have to make an appointment. After my husband CONTINUALLY told him NO. The Orkin techs response was, "I have keys to houses nicer than this one!" That resulted in a call to the office in New Bern, NC. Spoke with the quote unquote manager, told him of the problems we were having and his last statement. The manager had apologized said he would give us a new tech, (which we have and we still have, he is an excellent guy) and we would have free service until the bug problem is resolved to our satisfaction.
After we started the "free service". We continued to receive bills. I would call and remind them what the manager said and was told it would be corrected. For a couple of months, the bills did stop. Then they started again... So I finally called AGAIN, told the lady I spoke with regarding the situation, told her I was willing to pay, but I was pretty upset about this happening again. She advised me NOT to pay, she will give it to the Manager and have him call me. Never received a call, but two weeks later I received a letter from a collection agency AND TWO YEARS LATER, WE STILL HAVE A PROBLEM. Contrary to what their advertising leads you to believe, Orkin doesn't actually provide home "protection" from termites and termite damage. Based on my experience, they only come in and kill new termite infestations after they have done their damage. I purchased a home 4 years ago. Alabama requires a "wood infestation report" as part of the process of the sale of residential real estate. I contacted Orkin to conduct that inspection and then immediately put the home under contract with them after they declared it to be termite free. In my mind my home was now "safe" from termite damage.
Last week I was shocked when a tile in the master bath surround literally fell off into the tub. When I investigated the cause, I discovered significant termite damage in the wall behind the tub enclosure. I called Orkin and (after completely blowing off the first appointment) they came out and "treated" the area to make sure that the termites don't return. There is a "bait station" located within about a foot of where the damage begins and I asked the technician to pull it and look at it... The bait was over half gone... Proof that there is an active termite colony present.
Despite this evidence, when I contacted the local office manager about what to do about getting the damage repaired, he informed me that "my contract didn't cover any repairs." Needless to say, I wasn't happy and I continued to press him for information. His reply was that the contract that I "transferred" over from the previous owner didn't cover damage. That is a lie because this was not a "transfer" from the previous owner. There were no previously installed bait stations and I am the one who ordered the WIR subsequently requested the contract to continue to supposedly "protect" my home. I am now faced with several thousand dollars of repairs due to this termite invasion of my home.
As it stands right now, Orkin has indicated that they will not pay for any of the termite damage that obviously occurred while under their "protection" contract. In other words, there is no protection to the homeowner under their contract. Do not be fooled by Orkin's stated claim to be "...leaders in the industry, specializing in protection against common pests, including termites..." The only thing that is truly protected is the Orkin profit line.

Now I get a bill stating my next visit won't be until the end of this month!!! It's like they've missed a whole months service. I am looking into contacting someone over this office in Lawton. If anyone has any ideas as to who I contact now, please let me know.

I have been a customer of Orkin for many years. I have 2 services with them. I have come to believe that Orkin has lost their customer focus. Lack of communication between their services and even within a single service. Selling products you don't need. Giving you incomplete or bad advice with the intent of selling. Misrepresentation and overall bad service. I can no longer recommend any Orkin service. I am in the process of writing up the details.

The man that came to do my home was 20 years old. He came an hour early and when I told him I had made a point to have an appointment at 1:00 he just started spraying outside. I asked him again about my birds' safety, he said they will be fine.
Before he left he put something around my kitchen cabinet tops and around the window seal. I thought it was a jell. After he left I thought I was looking at dead ants on the counters. I figured they died from what he put around the cabinets. When I put on my reading glasses I could see that he put glandular stuff everywhere. There was nothing dead. He put a pile all around my sink where my dishes dried. I put a small towel over it. He put a pile along the counter top and this was about 2 feet from my bird cage. I put a towel over that thinking it would not blow into her cage. My bird died 3 days ago. A week after Orkin came out and sprayed and put powder on my counter top. I never saw what I thought a trap would look like. I believed Orkin. I am shocked, upset and sad. I still have roaches in my house and ants outside,
I still have my girl bird cage where it was. There is a real void without her. I have another bird a conjure that had been with her all his life. His bird cage was behind hers away from the counter tops. She chirped more than I realized, now it's totally quiet. My conjurer has looked for her, I thought it would be best for him if I leave her cage beside his for a few days. I don't know how to take care of this bird now. He had company whenever I was not home and all day. I am totally at a loss. I can't leave him alone for very long. I never planned on getting another bird. I don't want to go get another bird. I could leave my two birds at home when I went out of town. They kept each other company and they were safe. I never had to worry. I don't want to bring him with me when I go out of town, that would be so bad for him.
I am still living with roaches, and my bird is dead. I believed Orkin had something safe for birds? How can this happen? I thought maybe the roach spray needed some time to work. After nothing was dead. I was going to give another day and call Orkin back and ask what was wrong. Now my bird is dead. I also paid for the service. Can anything be done?

My name is Bobby **, and I am sending these comments on behalf of my deceased mother. For years, she had used Orkin's service, and was very pleased with their service. Starting about April/May of this year, she started getting weak and sickly, and entered the hospital. From then until her death on July 29th, she was either in the hospital or a senior care facility. On October 21st, I received, in the mail, a letter from a collection's agent about her account being delinquent. Being the executor of her estate and having power of attorney, I called the Odessa office to inquire when this service took place, and was told June 29, 2015.
Well, first of all, she was in the senior care facility at that time, so there was no way Orkin could have called her to set up a time for the inspection. She always had the inside and outside of the house sprayed, since she had a phobia about mice being in her house. The outside gates are locked, her being an elderly lady living alone. We did have a renter in the house at that time, but she was at work and did not have the authority to make such an appointment. If Orkin took upon themselves to go to her house and attempt to spray around the outside, that's on Orkin, not my mother.

My scheduled appointment time was for 10/20/2015 between the hours of 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm. When making the appointment, customer service representative was very helpful. Explained I worked and would NOT be home any earlier than 4:30 pm. He accommodated my schedule. Driving home to meet the inspector, 1 minute away from my residence at 4:31 pm, I received a cell phone call from the inspector asking me if I was home. I explained, "I am ONE minute away from my residence". The Inspector stated my appointment time was between 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm. I replied, "it's 4:31 pm! I'm now 30 seconds away (on my residential street). He stated, "The appointment was at 4:30 pm. You're late!" He discontinued the phone call. I pulled into my driveway at 4:32 pm - I got out of my vehicle to a very angry person (inspector) where I was met at the front of my house.
I said very clearly. "Please leave my residence as I am NOT interested in your services anymore due to your conduct on the phone call you made to me. Inspector replied: "Seriously? You're upset about that and do not want me to inspect your home?" I replied, "NO! Please leave". He stormed away. I immediately call the company and fortunately got to speak with the same person whom made my appointment. I explained the situation and for him to bring this matter to higher management. I told him, you had the sale on the phone but when you have terrible customer service l, in this case, horrible customer inspectors, you lose business and that they just lost mine. Horrible, horrible inspector. I was very willing to have this company do the work that needed to be done after the inspection. Now, I will never use Orkin nor will I ever refer them to anyone. I have included a photo of this time stamped with the inspectors call, asking me if I was home.

I cancelled my service with Orkin in Aug 2015 since I was selling my single family home moving into a townhome this month. I decided to restart my service when the tech came out by the way whom was very pleasant and I were talking, I informed him that I had service with them at my previous home. He stated since it was less than 60 days I should not have to pay a start up fee, well come to find out that was wrong. I did agree to have the service restarted, however I could not understand why I could not just pay the monthly amount since I was not a new customer. When Maral from the Orlando Branch called me to pay for the service I asked why was I paying an initial start up fee. She stated because I called the national number in Georgia, that is why if I had called them they could have did something for me, that did not make any sense to me so I became very upset because I was receiving BS excuses.
I asked for the Corporate number, she refused to give it to me and told me that they were going to tell me to call that Branch anyway, after repeated times of asking for the number she hung the phone up. Every time I kept on calling they continued to hang up until Janice answered the phone. I asked her for the Corporate number. She refused to give it to me and stated that Maral was going to give me $50.00 off of my service. However since I was cursing and going off they were not given me anything and I need to give them a credit card that works to pay my bill. This is when you know that there is some BS with this company when they won't give you the Corporate number and they are given you $50.00 off. I have never been treated in this way by this company in previous states. However this do not surprise me. The customer service here in Orlando SUCK. My house came with a bond from Orkin that provided insurance against termites. The time of original application was 18 years ago, but now the yearly renewal rate is so costly it's unaffordable. I pay hundreds of dollars for them to walk once around the house once a year. I spoke to them about their high costs and how their yearly increases were always way above the cost of living index. No response. A neighbor of mine called Orkin and received a reduced rate for his service. When I asked Orkin for a reduction, I received a negative response. As a conscientious consumer and handyman, I do not need a big company exploiting its services, however, I did not want to lose my bond. I plan to seek out a local, smaller company that wants to provide fair service at a decent price.

I told him there was no contract or signed agreement as I had been with the company before such things were required. He told me I was mistaken. I told him to research it. I asked for the same service I had received historically.
He said they had never sprayed my house for bees. I said yes they had. He said I was wrong... I asked that he find my contract and show me where bees were excluded, because I knew there was not one. I said I would hate to change service but would if they were not going to assist me. I did not receive a follow up call until today when I canceled my service. The manager that called today certainly sounded like the rude one that had called earlier, but of course today says it was not him. Today they offered to assist me with my pest issue...Too Late, I have hired a new local company who wants my business for the next 43 years.

Apparently we brought back some bed bugs from a Best Western Hotel in Sacramento region and contacted ORKIN after they had cleaned the house of the people in Gilroy, CA we stayed with at that same hotel. They seemed quite expensive, but we were desperate and did not get a second quote. $3,150.00 to heat the whole house to 140 degrees after we had to remove anything that would have melted, food, candles, paintings etc. We also had to remove the electricity plate covers on all switches, plugs. And pull all wooden furniture away from the walls. The house was still too hot 10 hours later. We were NOT advised to pull apart our antique 1836 double bed, that we are now told to do even though it was sprayed after the heating of the house, there was insufficient treatment to get to the core of the wooden bed and we appear to have suffered hibernation or recurrence of these bed bugs after several months in action.
After seeing fresh infestation coming from the SAME bed frame over the past few weeks, they want to re-charge us the FULL amount again, to re-heat the whole house even though the inspection confirmed they did not complete the correct treatment of our antique bed last year. Since they did not complete their work last time and the same source of bed bugs has re-appeared, we believe they should redo their sloppy work at their own expense, but they would not budge from their revised estimate of $2,700. At the same time I have been discharged from Dominican Hospital the weekend 10th July, 2015, after Heart Bypass Surgery and cannot return to my own home because of the infestation not been taken care of BEFORE my operation. My wife called their former contact person, and after NO responses for a week, we were told she was no longer employed by Orkin.
We called their main number and they did a thorough job this time, but would not shift much on the quoted price, except for a $450.00 reduction, so we actually paid $5,850.00 to complete the heating of the house TWICE for the same issue. The bugs returned because they did NOT complete their work the first time as they hibernated inside the wood of our bed. After the SECOND HEATING of our house, we saw evidence of the baseboards covered in residue and had to replace all of them with eight, new wooden boards. We replaced our mattresses after they heated the house the first time & bought bug-proof covers again after the second treatment. We took steps to clean the house ourselves. They did come back & REDO the entire house in July, 2015, but we saw no evidence of any bugs outside of our bed, and they said we must pull the bed apart ourselves, which was a simple job.
They said they could not do it on any antique furniture last time in 2014, but never advised us to pull it apart when they came to heat the house & spray afterwards. We believe they did not complete their job the first time and we were entitled to their return to complete the work that they failed to do the first time in 2014. They also would not treat the bed topper that had the zipper undone by only 1" and they saw bugs inside, and they told us to toss it and buy another that cost us $160 to replace. It was not as good as the original one. We feel obliged to complain about being charged TWICE for the same job that was not completed properly the first time.
We have explained our position clearly, and they did a most thorough treatment the SECOND TIME, so we are pleased with ORKIN'S work and follow-up inspections. We want a refund of the second charge for obvious reasons. I have been unable to work since my bypass operation on 6th July, 2015 and our only income is a paltry Social Security that Linda only received half of my payments, after I could apply, because although she was born in America, she could not apply in her own right and is ineligible for a widow's pension from her first husband.

I hired Orkin to eliminate a bad rat infestation in my new home. After two months I was told it would take several more months to remove the rats. They told me they had set 16 traps. They also said that my attic was rat-free and that no traps would be set in it. They were in turn delaying the insulation company from replacing all crawl space insulation because of the rat damage. After over 2 months I cancelled my service with Orkin because they just were not getting the job done and I hired another much more reputable pest company. When the new pest company came in and thoroughly inspected everything including attic, they found major holes like what they called "rat freeways" that Orkin had totally ignored. The new company had to dig down at least 10 more inches and fill each hole with five - 50 lb bags of concrete.
They found Orkin had only set 3 traps and none in the attic and of those traps not all of them were set with bait. There was visible evidence that the rats were getting into the attic but again Orkin did not inspect nor set traps in the attic. When I cancelled I asked for a refund of over $270 as Orkin had not removed the rats and was causing me mental distress as time was coming for winter and the rats would settle in. They refused to refund stating that the crews had been out twice weekly. They had not - they came once in June, skipped July, twice in August and one of those times the guy didn't have the tools to get into the crawl space to do the inspection. The company I have since hired have removed all rats in a span of two weeks. So what exactly did Orkin do? NOTHING as far as I am concerned and I still want my money back.

I have had Orkin since 2012. I never had a problem until the one time Orkin came by and my gates were locked and I had asked that they come back out to no response. I was then charged $93.00 without service. I called to speak with a mgr. and no response. However, 2 weeks later the Orkin Rep came out to apologize for the misunderstanding with the billing. I told her (Orkin Rep) that I no longer needed in home pest control. However, she spoke to me about my lawn. I would be willing to try lawn pest control. So she signed me up at the end of July 2015 with my credit card information and was to be set up like I had before with automatic payments from my Chase credit card. So a week later Orkin Lawn showed up and sprayed my lawn. He left me with an invoice marked PAID.
On 09/01/2015 (1 month later) I had a knock on my door. When I went to answer the door, no one was there but I heard a truck start up and then the Orkin truck drove by. I immediately called Orkin to have him return. She (Orkin Rep) said that she will call him (Driver) right away. No one ever came back to spray the lawn and it is 09/22/2015. No one called me either. I figured well, he must have come by my home by mistake thinking I was on his route because my next scheduled spray was 30 more days out. Today 09/23/2015 I received a collection notice from a collection agency on behalf of Orkin for $125.00. I have never had anything go to collections. I pay my bills. I immediately called and asked for a mgr. The lady on the phone said “Why don't I try and help you?” Why I never get to speak with a mgr., I have no idea.
I had explained from the beginning and she said that they had several attempts to call me. I only have one phone number and I have had it for the past 15 years. No one has tried to contact me! And on 09/01/2015 when I called Orkin to have the driver come back, why didn't they tell me something was wrong? Or better yet when they contacted the driver, why didn’t they call me to tell me why he stopped by? When I called today to resolve my complaint, the Phone Rep blamed it on the Orkin Rep who signed me up for the service saying that she didn’t get the expiration date for the Chase credit card. I was floored! I stood right there when the Orkin Rep wrote it down and she had it all. All I did was agree to have service and provided payment. I do not understand why someone didn't tell me something was wrong when I called them on 09/01/2015.
Their bookkeeping has to be so messed up to not understand they have wronged a client. The manager is not even doing his job by calling me back to resolve an issue which is clearly Orkin’s fault. I am having to pay the collection fees for nothing! By the way, it is interesting that the collection company is owned by Orkin too (AKA Rollins Service Bureau, a division of Rollins Inc. AKA Orkin)! That is leaving the door open to a major lawsuit the way they charge clients for service not provided and then turn around 30 days later to charge collections fees. The rep actually said "If it was our wrong doing we apologize.” "If" - I just told you what happened and you don't think you have committed any wrongdoing?? When she said "If" is when I admit to losing my temper but never used profanity. There has been no resolve other than discontinuing my service and paying the collection so that it doesn't ruin my credit.

The Orkin termite inspector told us that we had mice droppings in our crawl space that required extermination. We had never seen any signs of mice in the 10+ years that we have lived in our house. But because we do not go into the crawl space and he was an Orkin employee, we believed him. He scheduled a treatment by the Orkin pest control exterminator for three days later. For those three days we were FREAKED OUT by the thought that we had mice in our house.
The exterminator arrived on time, sprayed the interior and exterior with Cy-Kick for bugs and inspected the crawl space. He found no evidence of mice and said that the termite inspector mistook really old roach droppings for mice droppings. He explained that mice droppings are considerably larger than roach droppings. The roach droppings were dark so they must be old. Therefore, he did not have to lay mouse glue traps. We were totally misled into purchasing the pest control service by the Orkin Termite Inspector.

He already had the outside done and was sitting in his truck. The receipt was already wrote out. I gave him a hundred dollar bill and he never fixed it on the receipt. I thought he just forgot and it was an honest mistake because when I gave him the 100 dollars he told me that he didn't have change but he'd apply it to my next bill. Well that was Saturday morning.
I get a call today and it is Monday regarding my card on file. I told the lady I already paid 100 in cash and she put me on a brief hold and came back saying that I gave the exact change and even had Kolby on the line... He lied and lied some more. I'm not really mad over 16 dollars and he obviously needed it more than me and my family. I'm mad that he lied about it and he stole it. All he had to do was ask! How many more people is he doing this kind of stuff to??? That is what makes me mad. Needless to say I WILL NEVER ALL OF THEM BACK INTO MY HOME. I am a renter for three years at my current apartment. We have had the same Orkin person the entire time. I have two cats. The past year or so I began to noticed my cats had an issue with vomiting often enough that I noticed a pattern. I took them to the Vet to make sure they were not sick. The Vet and I discussed the possible causes. (Stress, type of food, etc.) I changed their diet and monitored them for stress related issues. Things got better for a few months. After the Orkin extermination they were vomiting again. I really did not relate it to Orkin being the cause until I became ill myself. At that time I notified the landlord with my concerns. I simply asked if there was an alternative to spraying liquid toxins all over the house and that I was will to help pay for it.
The extermination day came and I guess the landlord spoke with the Orkin guy regarding my concerns. They knocked on the door, I answered it and the pest(ty) guy replied "So what is your problem now?" On other occasions I felt he was rude, condescending, and appeared to always have a chip on his shoulder. Needless to say the conversation escalated negatively from there. He stated "It's impossible that what I'm using is making you sick, I can show you the MSDS sheet to prove the amount of poison I'm using is too low for that to happen. I can show you the MSDS sheet." He repeated this so many times that I had to stop him and demand he stop talking to me because the conversation is getting heated. He then tells me the conversation isn't heated. Not only is he telling me I'm wrong, now he's telling me how I feel. I can go on and on, but I won't.
I ended it by telling him "The only thing you need to say to me is the name of the pesticide you're using." He gave me some name I couldn't understand so I asked him to spell it. Either he doesn't know how to spell what he's using or he just made up something, because I couldn't find it anywhere on the world wide web. I told him "I know what a MSDS is, and by the way you're saying it incorrectly, because the S in the abbreviation means sheet. So what you're actually saying is Material Safety Data Sheet Sheet."
At this point he appeared to be outraged. He yelled, "I will bring you a copy of it." That was almost three months ago and I am still waiting and it's almost time for his next visit. I don't know if he thought I was trying to get money from the company or what. His customer service leaves a lot to be desired, and I wonder if he treats everyone the same way or is it because I am middle aged single mom. In any case he had to leave without drenching my house with his liquid poison.

We agreed that his guys would come out and redo the poly sheeting under the house to help with the moisture situation. His team showed up the next week and spent two days stripping the old poly and doing a wrap-up to the vents.
They did this at no charge to me so we're going to continue our business relations for a while. I'm writing this because I figure that if I'd take the time to ** about bad service - I ought to be man enough to tell it when they do something right.

I had Orkin to come out and look at our termite situation - not to rid us of them but to treat our home to keep the termites away. They advised me that I needed a moisture control system in the crawlspace. We bought this system and they installed what I thought was a dehumidifier and vents. I get an invoice from them every year to maintain two services - termite control and moisture control. The service tech that just checked our house says that there is no dehumidifier and the plastic poly sheet is covering less than half of the crawlspace. The Manager, if the local office will not talk with me, he sent a tech out who basically told me that there's nothing that he can do until the manager approves the work. I've called the local office and the regional office with no results.

I explained to my husband and the salesperson about the advice I was given. And the salesperson said that he guaranteed the termite treatment would work and that I was mislead about the treatment Orkin offered. I did not want the wood treatment but the salesperson convinced my husband that I was wrong and the best thing was the wood treatment. My husband fell for his lies and we ended up paying $1200.00 for the treatment that never worked.
Every 3 to 4 months I kept complaining about the wings and termites I kept finding, and Orkin kept coming back applying the treatment over and over and advised my husband and I that we needed to give it time to work. Orkin kept coming back many times and applying treatment and buying time. The last treatment was about 7 months ago and we continue with the same problem and a new salesperson came to my house to sell us the tent. And stated that the tent would be $1949.00 and they will give a $500 credit. But what they did was they raised the price to give the discount.
I called 3 companies for estimates and all 3 gave me a price between $980.00 and $1400. Orkin gave me $1449.00 with the discount. I feel they stole $1200.00 from us because they promised something that never worked and where's the warranty and where's the money we paid. The next morning, I thought I saw something on my box spring, so I called Orkin to take a look. They were helpful on the phone and were able to come out same day. Two guys came in within the time window they had given me. They inspected my home, and said they had seen it too, playing off my fears and gave me a quote of over $1000 for just my side of my duplex. I tore my house apart, cleaning and washing everything, driving myself crazy.
Luckily, I got a second opinion from ABC. The first inspector came and told me there was no evidence of bedbugs. I didn't believe her; I thought maybe she just couldn't see them. She asked the bedbug operations manager to come take a look just to double check her. He couldn't find any signs of them either. They both said my bites looked like an extreme reaction to chiggers. I almost got evicted and/or ended up shelling out $1000 that I don't have to fix a problem that didn't exist. I realize that the doctor who is uneducated in parasites made it really easy for the crooks at Orkin to prey on me. These guys should not be trusted! Always get a second opinion!

We just this recently contracted with Orkin for rodent control. We knew we had an infestation. Treatment usually includes killing the rats and building them out. Orkin was supposed to replace our crawl space vents (which needed replacing anyway), install flashing at certain points along the roof (a small infestation in attic), and close up any small openings. Except for the flashing, they followed through. The first inspector said there were two large openings in the "builders gaps." When they came to do the work, the technician responsible for that repair could not see a problem. After the tech and his supervisor (the first inspector) discussed it they said someone over the supervisor would come the next day and inspect.
The next day this person came with the same technician and looked around. They installed a thin metal strip at one point and put some kind of foam at a few small openings. They were present less than an hour. We were charged $4,000 for this, the original charge for the exclusion. The supervisor found it impossible to itemize a bill showing why it should cost that much. We have had a grandfathered-in pest control contract with Orkin since we bought the house. Every year they inspect for termites and powderpost beetles for a small annual fee. They also checked for moisture in the crawl space. There were no moisture problems all that time until recently when an inspector found condensate and beginning of mold. So Orkin replaced the insulation in the crawl pace and sprayed borate on the wood and laid a moisture barrier.
We refinanced the house a few months ago and an independent inspector agreed that there was a minor concern with moisture. So we had Orkin take care of it. Now, when the rodent project started, the inspector said the moisture was high in the crawl space. So they resprayed the wood and rehung some loose insulation (no charge). They originally installed the insulation. They also left a moisture monitor that continually reads in the 70s, which is probably right because Orkin insists the crawlspace vents remain open despite our living in a high humidity area. They have suggested that we "may need" a de-humidification system installed. For all this work we were charged $7,000. Tired of going round and round about the cost we finally paid them in full, both not to have to go on with the cost issue and to avoid the high interest rate if we did not pay within 90 days (we borrowed the money at a much lower interest rate).
We still have received no satisfactory answer about the project's cost and and are both disappointed and angry about the service. I should also mention that the rodent control (and other pests) program is now separate for which we pay a separate fee.

Recently, we had a roach scare. Had found four roaches in one week in a relatively tidy home. Certainly not a place you would expect pests to live. We panicked and after several horrifying internet searches, we bought raid and bait stations. After we found the final roach, we decided that we had had enough and couldn't risk a full blown infestation. We signed up online for a free consultation with Orkin, and were contacted promptly the next morning. After I told her we had found four roaches she told me we likely had two hundred more and should start treatment. She preyed on my fear and set us up for a yearly plan. Since we rent the home and are set to move out within the month, this seemed drastic, but I didn't question her. She was however, quite friendly, and answered my questions about the extermination procedure.
The exterminator arrived on time and was very friendly. He identified our roaches as wood roaches (an underrepresented group in forums found online) and told us there was a low chance that we were infested. These types of roaches live outside and come in during the spring season in search of food and water. They do not breed inside like some other species of cockroaches so he advised us to set up some glue traps on our own and avoid paying several hundred dollar for Orkin services we didn't really need. All in all, a positive experience and ten out of ten would recommend Orkin to a friend or loved one.

They came back 7 days later and said they are no more rodents in the house. They did a rodent dropping clean out for $700.00 dollars which I found out later from other pest control companies I was charged way too much for that service. ** at Orkin assured us the roof and all exterior wall are secure and nothing can enter the house. A month later my wife and I were mortified to hearing rodents chewing and running around in the attic again. I actually got on my roof and saw 3 entryways for rodents to enter our house. I called Orkin's manager ** at (3419 18th Ave S, St Petersburg, FL 33711) to send someone out to rectify this problem. We were totally misled.
He said he was not sending anyone out unless he could sell me another high price pest control contract. I told him, "You did not get rid of all the rodents the first time. I wouldn't pay you a dime. You're horrible service and you rip people off." Whatever you do stay away from Orkin. All they want is to bleed you dry.

Background: I've been living in my current home for 2 years, most of that went along without seeing one roach. Unfortunately, about 5 months ago I saw one or 2 over the course of a week and flipped out. You should know before reading the rest of this review that I have an extreme roach phobia. Seeing one sends me into a near panic attack and I become a bundle of nerves for days after until I finally feel comfortable again.
Calling: My mom, who also has the same phobia, recommended Orkin after I told her I'd seen a few roaches (I later found out that all she had done with them at that point is have a phone consultation). I gave them a call to schedule an appointment and that brings us to our first RED FLAG.
Red Flag 1 ("your problem is way worse than you know"): They are alarmists. When I called and told them I'd seen a few roaches and I wanted to never wanted see one again in my home they immediately went nuclear and told me that if I'd seen a few there were hundreds and they'd have to treat not only my home but my yard to prevent them from ever coming in to my home. Music to my ears at the time but looking back it was part of them just using dump truck exterminating where they put down everything they have without knowing really what they're doing so they can charge you for every single part of the process. Once they were in my house they were convincing me that I had mice, fleas, ants, etc, which I don't and started treating for all of those things.
On their first visit they said their plan was to bait the roaches in then over time move them out so they were my neighbors' problem. Presumably so that my neighbors would get desperate and call Orkin as well. That brings me to...
Red Flag 2 (expensive): I've had exterminators in the past and they cost about $20 a month to spray for roaches inside and out of your home. Orkin costs more than twice that, $92 every other month. It would be worth it to me if I had never seen another roach. Unfortunately, the opposite is true...
The infestation: Not only did my roach problem not get solved, something they did opened the flood gates! Last night (I've been under their service for 5 months and they came 3 days ago to treat, for the last time) my husband killed 22 roaches! I have to sleep with the light on. And I almost got up from bed to go sleep in my car so I could relax. Something in that nuclear cocktail of treatments that they put down in my house and on my lawn is attracting roaches like crazy. There are more roaches in here than if I just left the door open at night. This is literally destroying my mental and physical health. I'm uncomfortable in my own home and am scared to shower, make food in my kitchen, or even sleep unless my husband is home. He's so aggravated by this that we fight constantly. He blames me because I am the one who called Orkin.
I'm glad for you that you are doing your homework and reading this review. Please, do yourself a favor and call anyone else. Orkin is a scam and should be shut down. There were so many signs, I should have cancelled sooner. For example... Red Flag 3: Each visit we had a new "technician" who was always "new to Orkin" and they say that often. Like, "I'm new to Orkin but let me call and see if I can use this new special thing in your grass". They were all dumbfounded by my increasing problem and "couldn't imagine what that they would be responsible". Either they have an incredibly high turnover or their technicians are lying about being new. Both of those options point to Orkin being a sham business.
Red Flag 4: Won't let you cancel. When it all became too much to handle I had my husband call to cancel. I'm a very non-confrontational person and being so stressed out by this whole thing didn't feel up to it. They would pass him around from person to person asking why he wanted to cancel but not actually cancelling. They knew I was the weak link and called me the next day when he was at work to ask me why we wanted to cancel. I was backed into a corner and had to lay out the issue and say, never come back, you've essentially ruined my life and I don't feel comfortable in my own home anymore.
TL:DR: If you contact a business to solve a specific problem and they start trying to fix problems that don't exist, over charge you, make your problem worse, aren't knowledgeable, and try to prevent you from firing them then it is a scam, not a reputable company.

I encountered a helpful person on the other end of the phone that told me I would receive a call from a tech on Monday. Monday came and by 4:45 pm, I had to call them again. I encountered a different person this time that said she didn't know why no one contacted me and someone would contact me Tuesday.
I took a personal day so that I would ensure I was home and by noon on Tuesday, I had to call them again. This Orkin person upon hearing my problem was a bird's nest says, "That's wildlife. Because of this I recently cancelled my service with a tech because I was moving. Now 2 months later I get a message my account is past due. Come to find out the tech made no notes about it. Now I am trying to defend my request of 2 months ago. Instead of helping they choose to make me provide a tech name and date of service. They left it up to me to provide all info and did not offer to look back at their records. How rude. Certainly not a customer friendly business. I will pay it and move on. The Orkin sales rep was nice and knew about the Orkins termites. The attic need some insulation, however he was trying to oversell, meaning, he measured and said I should have an r value of 49, but mine was only rated at an r 10. Now my crawl space does have a serious issue with ground water after and does have an improperly installed sump pump and no drain line at the footers. On this he was tee totally incompetent.
Before every interview with contractor to repair any of these issue I'd educated myself on each area. It's called YouTube and reading and more research. To sum it up Orkin is kinda old school in termites and treatment. Never buy a termite contract without a repair clause, understand this, all contracts offered here has (live termite activity). If you find termite damage with no live termites, you will pay for the repairs. I'd say this to everyone (no one will take care of me, like ME) and this is nothing better than an educated consumer. So, on any punches get at least three bid and insist they leave their contract and read it, ask for help if needed.

I was greeted by a customer service rep over the phone who immediately launched into "This is the mouse breeding season and you have colonies of mice and you called the right place..." then put me on hold after asking my address in order to enter it into a database which gives them my square footage.
Next, followed the "That will be at least seven treatments that you need to contract for upfront..." after which I cut her off abruptly having remembered the previous call to her years back for a localized ant infestation in my kitchen, which they wanted me to agree to a similar thousand dollar arrangement. NOT according to Orkin!! Now, w/ treatments per their schedule, don't you think some of the monies I was charged would take care of FLEAS? Was this info brought up by sales rep. Next item that Newcomers need to be aware of.... if a 250-350 lb. About five weeks ago I had a very friendly inspector come to my home to check for bed bugs, which I knew I already had. I have a terrible allergic reaction to the bites and was desperate to get rid of these blood sucking pests. I had tried everything on the market that advertised to kill them. In a few short days they had developed an immunity to the poison and would come back worse than before. Just after Christmas I had scheduled them to come and heat my house to a 150 degree temperature for 30 hours. For this treatment I had to prepare my home and box up, sanitize, or throw away anything on the list they gave me. Day and night for ten days my family stressed over this preparation. When we come back our home was ever so cozy. It was a few days before the temperature came back to normal. This treatment worked, every bug in my home was dissolved, there wasn't a hint that we ever had bugs or spiders.
Three weeks later the biting began again, I of course was in denial that it could be bed bugs. Ten days later I caught one on my bed. They are back, one week after Orkin would come out to retreat for free. My gripe is that they do play on people's desperation and willingness to pay whatever the cost, mine was $5000 plus the motel and food for a family of eight. We have a wooden bed frame and although the first guy told us the bugs can find places to hide in the wood we were never told to take our bed apart so the treatment would reach these hiding places.
I don't have another $5000 to throw away on another what if. Short of burning my house down I have to relive this nightmare all over again. If only someone along the line would have fully disclosed this as a preparation I wouldn't be writing this review. I can't afford to find someone else and just hope Orkin does the right thing and fix it at their cost. I know word of mouth speaks volumes over repeat customers and I have ruined businesses in telling people about my experience.

We had Orkin's dry zone and annual contract for the dry zone for a few years. Everything worked fine. Until we sold the property and tried to call their local office to terminate the contract and get a partial refund for an unused service (about 5 months out of a year). That's when the true nature of their business came out. Rudely the customer service in Murfreesboro, Tennessee said they would cancelled the service and NO REFUND!! "We don't give refund", she said. A three months went by, we received another bill. So I called and found out that they lied to me about canceling service. So I told the customer service to cancel it again. He told me that he could not do so because his computer had problems. I see they would not cancel it so they don't have to give customers refund.
My patience was up so I called the Headquarter explaining the problems. She told me she would send a memo to the local office. She said not to worry. If they did not receive payment, they would automatically cancelled the service for me anyway. Duh!!!! What a waste of time trying to deal with this company. We had Terminix as our pest control and let me tell you, they are much, much better in customer service. Robert used to be our service man. Treating us nice for all these year. Til he got promoted, he still took care of any problems we had. Awesome, Terminix in Murfreesboro Area. And after selling our house, I cancelled our service with Terminix and received our refund for an unused Termite contract within 30 days. Any pest problems, Terminix would come and solve it for us in the same date.
For those of you who try to decide which company you want for your pest control or dry zone services, just remember, if you need to terminate the service or ask for refund, ORKIN said, they don't do such things. That is how they treated me. Now I am using a local company and Terminix. I am happy with services they provide. No more ORKIN for me. Thank you.

Fifth problem, called because was unsatisfied with service. Never received a call back. Had to call I don't know how many times to get a call back. Then was told because I have a week before my next service which was actually 11 days that they would charge me. So much for the in-between visits for free for bad service. Then proceeded to tell me, "well you said you were satisfied with our services!"
This because of call to call center while technician was sitting on my couch to confirm contract. ** bags. Made excuses for technician. When I requested on a new technician, argued with me about how inconvenient it is for them. Wtf. I don't care how inconvenient it is for you. Your crap service is inconvenient for me! Absolute waste of money! Crap customer service. Crap work. Crap technicians. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Rip off!! You can't make a formal complaint, they don't care.

I wanted to make sure I contacted them immediately so the problem didn't get out of control. Where there is one cockroach, there are many. Orkin came out that night and said there were no signs or German cockroaches, only dead crickets downstairs. I had a picture of the cockroach and showed him. He said it was a "silverfish". That night, I saw one on my nightstand trying to take a sip of my water. I was in a panic and at this point it was my head that we might be infested.
I called Orkin immediately the next day and they told me an exterminator would contact me and come back to the house. I even sent the exterminator another picture of the roach that I found. The exterminator told me that he didn't have time to take care of me today and he couldn't see me the next day either. I expressed my concern that my house wasn't treated right the first time and they needed to come back out. He acted like he didn't care. I had my fiance call them back again and he still acted like he couldn't make time. They sure as hell didn't have trouble swiping my credit card. We had called ORKIN 3 months ago for pest issue. They only come out when you contact them. I called to cancel their service today and was told I had to give a 30-day notice to cancel. Their tech refused to come back due to outside vent issue. We basically paid for nothing. 3 months of terrible service. And the staff at ORKIN is rude over phone and demanded we tell them why we are cancelling. NEVER AGAIN!! And if you do cancel they do NOT issue any type of cancellation notice or number. FYI.

I am 9 months pregnant and my fiancee and I started to realize we were starting to have a real roach problem. I looked up what roaches we had and saw that they could cause respiratory problems and can carry diseases, something you don't want around your first child, let alone a newborn. I call Orkin and they tell us they will be out the next day to take a look and spray. I was pleased to hear we could get help with this problem so quickly considering how soon our baby was coming. They were supposed to be here between 8 and 10. At 8 AM, I was up and ready to get the first treatment done on our house. 9:45 AM comes around and my fiancee and I and wondering where this exterminator is. 11 AM comes around and we call the company to complain and let them know we have plans and for them to just come out the next day. We let them know we were disappointed with their company's inability to even call and let us know they weren't coming.
The next day comes around and the same thing happens except for at around 10:50 AM, the exterminator calls and tells us he'll be there in 10 minutes. He didn't show up until 12.... Then when he gets here, he only sprayed the stairs and kitchen and just a little bit of our living room... And set traps in 2 of the bedrooms and skipped the bathroom and our other bedroom. We even told him the main area we saw the roaches was in the bathroom. I was very frustrated when he left. The traps he set out were extremely cheap as well. We could have bought similar ones at the store and saved the $100 we spent on the company.. The second time they came, they were once again late, and within the past 2 days, we have still been seeing live roaches.. And I'm talking big roaches, one of which was crawling along my pillow case. I'm just very fed up and dissatisfied with Orkin's services and effectiveness.

I'm an employee at the Huntsville Alabama branch #112, branch manager **, pest control manager **. I've been told to lie, halfway do my job, even lie about my hiring process. I've been told to lie and fill out customers paper work saying that their services have been done but haven't. I haven't been fired but I feel this is immoral and wrong. It is the reason I'm posting and could possibly face legal action if my identity is revealed because of the paperwork I signed when hired. I was told in a meeting that it wasn't about the quality of service, it was about quantity of service. The more services ran, the bigger bonus checks these two ** get every month. We called Orkin to come out and treat our house for fleas. The saleswoman on the phone told me our first treatment for fleas would be $196 and any additional treatments would be $107. I agreed to have them come out the next morning. When the technician arrived, he told me that the call agent was misinformed and it was a substantial higher cost for the treatment. On top of that, we would have to sign a 12-month contract for Orkin to come out every other month to treat fleas. After we had taken the day off from work, put our dogs into a dog day care, we find out Orkin is going to charge us more than they had stated over the phone. I recommend getting a written contract before starting with any company and stay away from Orkin!

Called last June (2014). I had a spider and silverfish problem. I got the sales pitch for the "service contract". I replied, "We will see how it goes". He then said he would get a contract out to me so I could look it over. They showed up the next day. They sprayed and I paid them 152 dollars over the phone as soon as he was done. A week or so goes by, I get the "contract" in the mail. I looked at it even though I had already made up my mind I was not going to continue. I saw what I got for my money and it was obvious to me that it was not worth the money. I still had spiders and silverfish.
About month later I get a call from a guy wanting to set up my next visit. I told him that I was not interested. In an annoyed voice he informed me they "could not stop this - I had to call the office". The next morning I called and explained that I was not interested. Later that morning I had a call I could not take. I figured it was the guy calling to try and talk me into going ahead with their service. I assumed that not calling back after telling them no two times would be enough. Also the girlfriend was home to stop them if they showed up at the door. That afternoon she finds the bill rolled up and stuck to the screen door. They had shown up, sprinkled their powder around my foundation and left.
They did this again in Sept. That time I had a written statement ready to give to the guy if he showed up. Again there was no knock. I swear the guy had to of parked the car down the block. My girlfriend did not hear anybody in the yard. So now they want close to 200 bucks for two cups of crap sprinkled on my lawn. This outfit is a scam. The only guarantee you get from them is they will take your money. The "service" is set up to come around about the time you would be asking for your money back from the previous visit. Seriously folks these guys have a real racket going.

A year later I called the office and put a complain because nothing change. They told me I was almost lying because it was impossible to see them after the treatment. The guy who came to my house told me by phone that I was a liar and that I should take pictures of the roaches and send them by email. REALLY?? Do I want/have to lie with that?
Well, 4 years later they are coming again to my house to put more food because I keep seeing them all over the place. Yesterday I spoke with my neighbor and she told me they had the same problem in the apartment and that they are sure they use water to spray the house and give the impression they are using something to kill the roaches. We called Orkin originally for a carpenter ant issue. We moved into our current house 5 years ago. Began noticing we had a few here and there. The longer we lived here each year seemed to get worse. We contacted Orkin finally because we wanted to go with a recognized company. First time out a lady showed up, some supervisor walked all over the house, told us when they would come out, signed us up for the contract, was supposed to come out, first time tech was to inspect and spray then continue monthly for 3 months then they were to come out if we were still seeing the ants without any additional charges.
After the first spraying we noticed a decline in the amount of ants we were seeing so we figured it was working. This went on for a couple months although during the subsequent sprayings the tech would always end up showing up late or calling and wanting to come a different day than originally scheduled. This turned out to be a issue because we have a dog who is not friendly and my husband is only home on Mondays from work so I had originally told them they would need to come out on Mondays while my husband was home so he could control the dog (she is huge and listens to him better than myself), so when they would show up on days not scheduled I would not be able to let them in the house, they could only spray outside.
Next thing that happened is we discovered we had a bird mite issue so we called them to see if they could also come out to spray for that. They did come out, sprayed the location only after my husband had to walk them around and show them where the actual bugs were because the tech couldn't even find them, mind you they are tiny but they were everywhere and I thought they were supposed to be trained to find bugs. Anyway the tech then expressed the fact that we would need to hire a specialty exterminator most likely for the mites because they did not have the proper equipment to deal with this issue.
After all this we began again to see ants like crazy all over the house. My husband told me to cancel service which I then called and cancelled. Now we have received a charge to our credit card for month of service after we had cancelled so now I call to find out why we were charged. They tell me they still have us down as having service so that’s why they charged for the month of October but no Orkin man showed up or sprayed at all during the month of October anyway so why charge us. Even if they were confused about the fact of us cancelling service, they now say they will refund the charge so I wait to see what will happen next. All in all I would not recommend them. I would go with a company that doesn't force you to sign into a contract with them and surely don’t do it by credit card so they then can charge you whenever they want.

On a Sunday night, we heard a mouse gnawing and running behind the wall in our 5 year old's room. At our age, knew exactly what it was so called Orkin 1st thing on Monday morning. They scheduled a time for Tuesday and technician Julie came out. We explained what we heard and what we knew it was. She indicated she needed to look in our attic. She did NOT have a ladder, she did NOT have a flashlight. My husband got out his ladder and flashlight and she went up and indicated she didn't see anything. She said she was confused and was pretty sure we had bats. We reiterated the gnawing and chewing and that we knew what both sounded like and it was definitely mice. After 30 minutes walking around the house she could not find any entry points.
My husband pointed out a few spots that he thought they could get in and she said "yeah, probably - you may want to close those up." She was convinced it was bats and said she found no evidence of mice, but since she was confused, she would have her supervisor come out on Friday after 4 pm that week because he was more knowledgeable, someone would call to confirm. My husband shimmied up the ladder and within 2 feet of the entry found mouse poop, and trails in the blown in insulation.
On Thursday, we came home to a smell in our son's room that was definitely a mouse dead behind the wall. I called right away to make sure her supervisor was coming out still as no one had confirmed - they had nothing in the schedule but they would call the supervisor. He called me back and I explained. He said he would not be able to fit us in the schedule and there was nothing he could do anyway if a mouse died, we would have to put up with the smell. I told him I had heard dead mice can be removed all the time by taking off the baseboard, cutting small hole and you usually can find them on the floor by following your nose. He said that the wall shouldn't be cut open and you shouldn't do that, just place a cup of vinegar in the room and the smell will get worse before it gets better and usually takes a couple of weeks to a month. REALLY?
And what happens when the dead mouse bloats so bad and leaks the disease-ridden fluids into the wood and more into the air? In a 5 year old's bedroom, he's supposed to sleep in that? He basically said he wouldn't be able to do anything, but could come out on Monday and set out baits or spray. I don't feel the original technician should be in the field without the knowledge or the proper tools, supervisor saw it as a "training opportunity" - REALLY? I don't pay for a service to be NOT performed so you can train somebody.
I called a local wildlife removal and he came out within the hour - stayed 4 hours to remove and do a thorough inspection. Guess what Julie/Orkin - NO BATS! Mice! Just as we thought. His charge was minimal compared to Orkin and he knew what he was doing. Followed his nose, pulled off the baseboard, removed the dead mouse, and put everything back just as it was. Baited to high heaven and sealed holes so they can't get in. Orkin just wants to get you signed up on their contract for a year of service. It was $134 for initial, $84 for the 30 day visit, then they came back monthly for $84 each visit for a year. "You can cancel at anytime." They apparently did not know what they were doing and I can't help but think, if they did - maybe the mouse wouldn't have died in the wall?
Took a week to get no resolve with them? 4 hours to get phenomenal service from a locally owned exterminator. He charged $120 for all of that and will come back as many times as it takes to ensure removal. No contracts, no catchy little "deal of the day". A business owner who takes pride in his work and will always make sure the customer is satisfied. I will NEVER EVER call Orkin again for anything and am recommending our local guy to anyone who inquires. They wasted our time, money and no resolution. Avoid chain exterminators, especially when their call centers are in different states - it's just all about the money.

I have no complaint about the guys coming to the home to do the treatment. The issue is that the salesman sold wrong service (treat carpenter ants) to us. And Company tried to keep charging us even though the issue was caused by squirrels. The first, salesman saw no evidence there is carpenter ants, but identified that the noise from the attic is caused by carpenter ants. The second, when the wrong treatment was made, ORKIN still tried to force us to continue the service and pay for the service. Since the first treatment made no any difference to the issue, I called ORKIN. I was told that they can move the second service up. I refused because the first service didn't do anything.
According to the contract, "ORKIN will return to retreat the area at no charge". Because they insisted that it would be the second service if someone came to my home again. So I said I would like to get refund if I have to be forced to take second treatment. Therefore, the manager said I should allow them to fix the issue before asking for the refund. I think it is reasonable. And then I was given a phone number to call. I called that number and left messages 3 times in one week. I was told technician will contact me, but no one got back to me. I had waited for one week, then I decided to follow the contract to get refund.
When I call ORKIN again to ask for refund, the manager contacted me to let me know someone will contact me shortly. I did get called and an appointment was made at end of last week. The technician came and confirmed that issue wasn't caused by ants for sure, it could be squirrel. He left two traps. We didn't let him to do any treatment for ants. Unfortunately I saw the bill for the second treatment showing in my credit card statement today. I am kind of angry, but technician was nice, so I just gave an unsatisfied rating.

I was told this was going to be a FULL Inside and outside inspection and spray so I awoke my entire house on a weekend, our ONLY time to relax and sleep in... We were all up and ready by 8 am to do what ever they needed us to do... get into rooms, bathrooms etc. We didn't want to be in the way so we were all ready... We were all awaiting the tech guy to show when we got the call that sorry they aren't coming @ 9 am. He was ill..
Ok so I am ok w/ that.. however the lady representing orkin was NOT sympathetic, she offered NO replacement person that was on the way or would be on the way nor did she offer a discount to reschedule my day that was FULL planned for in advance.. All she said was "Oh so when do you want us to come out again?" I was so put off by her lack of professionalism... I said "you won't. I am calling clark or terminex."
Bottom line is IF you as a company fail to deliver you call and FIRST try to get another staff member out there and/or offer a discount for the HUGE inconvenience that it has caused because you have not set up a back up person in the event that your tech person can't make it. None of it was done, so I WON'T be calling them for a new appointment. I will be calling their competition for better service.

I reported to apt office that I saw a bug. After three years living here it was my first one. Orkin came out and spot treated and then told me he would be by for a month to check on bugs. There is where they started messing up. After that I started getting bites from something unknown and that went on for almost 8 weeks. When they say they will be back they don't come back for weeks later. Then when they do come in they don't do anything but walk around and talk. I told him about the bites and that I even ended up in the hospital. Again nothing done. They don't care about anything but their pay check. At this point I didn't care about the bugs just whatever was biting my family.
I went to office. They told me to talk to Orkin. I did that and again nothing from Orkin. In the meantime we are still getting bites. This went on for weeks. Him telling me it was the office when all along it was Orkin making up stories on why they could not do anything (it was too much work) so I got tired of the run around and the story telling. I called the code enforcement. The heads rolled after that. The same day code was out here I got a call from the office then from Orkin supervisor. I had to explain just what happened with whatever was getting us. The doc said no bedbugs, the first Orkin man said no bedbugs, the manager in the apts said, "No bed bugs, it's more like spiders..." So with Orkin in trouble and about to lose a contract with the apts the super stopped by.
I was cleaning my room good and bed was standing up. I put it down right before he got here. He had me go do something else and while my back was turned he pulled out some bedbugs out of his pocket from a jar and let them go to make his stories look better and to get his company off the hook. I had no signs of anything but spiders. SPIDERS... since Orkin failed to do anything for weeks and I told the manager everything he did and said the apts wants to drop the contract. They had to make it look good.
This nightmare won't stop. My apt still has not been sprayed per Orkin calling it off and code enforcement due back any day but it don't make Orkin look bad just the manager of the apts. so they think. I'm ready to get Orkin on the chopping block - for planting bugs in me room when there was none. Just to get them off the hook caused them to get deeper and deeper. I'm not stupid and have proof that I don't have bedbugs. IT'S SPIDERS. Orkin is worthless. I have another company coming out to do their job that with the contract they got paid. So they can care less about anything. They don't want to work and they walks around and tries to look good but they are a nightmare from hell...
Run away from them before you are in a nightmare. It happens so easy with these people. As he told me, I'm from the USA and he likes coming to our house but the others he can run over them so easy. They don't speak English... Don't use Orkin. Watch your back if you do. I did and now I know they are worthless... Run from them. Don't listen to them. They learned their job from the Cracker Jack's box.

Orkin is failing in its contract for service to my home. My agreement with Orkin is that a technician will service my home on the first Thursday of every other month, and stipulates that I MUST BE AT HOME because of the INSIDE ENTRANCE to the basement. I have requested, therefore, that the technician call on the day or night before service.
March 2014, I was charged for service on an off day when I was not at home. There was no call prior to the visit. I have made numerous calls (15, in fact) to get this charge removed. On calling, I am assured that it is removed, but to this day, I continue to receive delinquent notices about this bill. I have paid on time for all services rendered.
I received a bill for $115.22, and a delinquent notice for an unpaid amount of $57.61. Listed on the invoice is $57.61 for the Sept. 4 scheduled service. No technician came last week on that day. When I called, the visit was rescheduled for today, Sept. 11. Since a technician did not call the night before, I called the company. I was assured that service was scheduled between 8 and 11 a.m. No one came. When I called the company, afternoon, I was told: "No one was scheduled for service in your area, today." When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told no one was available. Another date of service, Friday, Sept. 19, was suggested to me. I will be away for nearly a month from Sept. 15. In the meantime, rodent activity in the basement awaits Orkin's attention.
The original contract with Orkin required the company to replace the insulation in the basement ceiling where rodents were nesting. So, it behooves the company to prevent infestations. Even so, they let it happen and had to replace the insulation. TWICE! Neglecting regular service is a violation of the contract. I am very disappointed with the failure of Orkin to live up to its side of our agreement.

I live in a small bachelor Apt. Orkin has been spraying for 2 years and still the bedbugs are here. The entire perimeter has been caulked. When they come, it takes less than 5 minutes to do a unit. If this sounds familiar, speak out as all we have is our voices. Thanks.

They sent out someone without a business card and was not even listed as an Orkin employee. Twice we were guaranteed we would be called back and it never happened. We were given a "rough" estimate of around $3000 and eventually had the work done for $6000. There is something very wrong with this company. I'd much rather rate them zero stars but that isn't an option.

Orkin came out to treat our home for scorpions, but I was surprised when they only dusted weep holes and set out glue traps. They didn't spray outside. Days after they had been out and up to 20 days after, we've seen 4 scorpions. I called the branch office to cancel and express my dissatisfaction, and was told I would not be refunded my initial $160. This comes after the technician told me if I was unhappy, I wouldn't have to pay. Clearly against their Money Back Guarantee on the service agreement I signed. Don't use Orkin. They lack integrity and the product to treat pests as well.

Orkin has been contracted to service my church for many years. I've been the secretary for ten years and recently discovered that our annual contract had not been renewed so contacted them. The person I spoke with said "he" would call me right back. It was about two weeks before he did and set a time/date to meet board members, go over things for a new contract and add a new parsonage to the entire contract... including the existing church building. Ultimately it was going to be yet another expensive treatment to PREVENT termites.
In 2009, we had spent close to $3000 for an extensive drilling process (a lifetime product) and yearly contract payments on top of that for a 5-yr contract with an option to renew every 5 years (In 2004, it was a preventative treatment that cost over $4000 with annual payments of more than $700). Now we are told it's not a lifetime product but was only good for ten yrs. But apparently "he" didn't realize we keep pretty good records and last time I checked it was 2014 not 2019! I don't appreciate being lied to and find it very unsettling that a huge corp entity would find it okay to take advantage of a church! But the story gets better...
The parsonage (recently purchased) had termites and the seller paid for a treatment prior to closing. Orkin does their initial inspection and says there are termites present and it's going to cost $$$ to treat and more than $150 to carry an annual contract in addition to the church. He proceeds to tell our board members that the company who treated at time of closing only spot treated because that's all they do. I had my doubts about the termites and personally spoke with the man who did the treatment on May 5th. He treated the entire property with a very strong product and the home is covered by a contract. If in fact termites have reappeared so quickly (very doubtful), then he re-treats at no charge until May 5, 2015. We can renew with him for $85 a year. In looking back through records, we have spent in excess of $15,000 with Orkin which seems to be a ridiculous amount of money for nothing. Shame on Orkin is all I can say and would highly recommend doing business with smaller locally-owned businesses.

So they advertise that service is $99 for a tech to come to your house every other month, for twelve months. If bugs come back in between service, they will send a tech again, free of charge. If bugs still come back, they refund the $99. Good luck getting someone to come back out after finding bugs after the service. When you call, the girls who answer the phone could care less about what was going on. I scheduled 6 (that's right, six!) appointments for a tech to come back and re-treat. No one ever showed up. When asked to speak with the manager, he was always out of the office and "would call me by 5pm." I never received a call.
After almost 6 weeks of this, I did finally catch the manager in the office. He guaranteed someone would be to my house to treat by the end of the week. To my surprise, a tech did arrive Friday evening. The following week, I saw I was charged $99. I called to ask why and was told per my contract, I would be charged every other month for service, even though the service I just had was to redo the first service. This is a total scam. They dragged my complaints out almost 2 months so they could charge me and not honor their guarantee. I highly recommend using another company.

Didn't even inspect the house (!), Look around or instruct me of how to keep from getting further fleas in the house, etc. Handed me a contract, wanted $200.00. Certainly not what the commercials or googling what they say they DO. They DON'T, THEY DIDN'T.

My superintendent said we had bugs and called in "Orkin" to deal with this problem. They came and sprayed but gave the super a copy of what they found and not me. They were supposed to put bed bug covers on the bed and didn't. Not sure if they forgot or if it was unnecessary because we didn't have bed bugs. This happened on Friday and the super was off for the weekend. So I tried to get hold of Orkin on Saturday and "Anna" kept saying the boss was busy but would call me back. She said he would call for sure at 2:30. He never did. She said she called the regional manager "Rob," he never called back either.
This company could care less. I was supposed to be out of the apartment for 24 hours and I don't know when they finished. Can I sleep in the bed without bedbug covers on the bed or am I making this problem worse? They were supposed to put the covers on my mattresses which are really heavy and they didn't. I stayed in a hotel for two days with our 8 month old baby. They say their employees make the difference. You know what? Their employees don't care at all about the customer.

Bought a home in 2001. Ower had a contract with Orkin full renewable subterranean termite home ownership repair guarantee. We spoke with Orkin, they removed the original and added my husbands name when we bought the house. We continued paying for the inspections for the past 14 years. All inspections show no signs of termites. My husband, a veteran died on December 17, 2013. After he passed, Orkin contacted me telling me we needed to add a Dryzone for extra protection. Paid over $6,000 to have this completed in March 2014. Had repair work completed on our home in April 2014. The contractors could not believe their findings. Entire beams holding the house up were eaten away. Live termites were everywhere. When I called Orkin, they stated it must have been a void space they had entered. Orkin retreated the area but refuse to pair for any repairs. As a widow on a fix income, I can't afford to have the home rebuilt. It is destroyed. Their contract forbids any legal action against them. This is one of the worst things that could happen to a person other than losing their loved one. I have had both happen to me in less than 6 months.

I called Orkin at (877) 331-0931, the phone number they posted on the internet. The first lady answered the phone and collected all my information and asked if I am interested to sell my house or need to refinance, which I say NO. Then she said she is going to transfer me to the customer rep who will schedule the free inspection. The second lady answered the call asked the same selling/refinance question and then started to collect the information I just gave out. My question is: Why does Orkin keep asking the same question by different people on their advertised phone number? Shouldn't the first call be answered by the customer rep? What is the purpose of the first answer that collects all the info?

Called them out cause we had a bug infestation going on between the walls of our home so decided to go with so called experts in my mind. I had seen various commercials claiming to kill a bug - you have to think like a bug. What a joke - the only thing these so called techs and experts were good at was wasting my time and money. Very expensive for horrible service. They came in spraying a few corners and promptly leaving. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with my service. I could have done the same by going to home depot and buying a gallon of ortho pest be gone. So please save your hard earned money and do it yourself. This is a huge scam and the name is not the best solution. I say do it yourself, save money and headaches. I would never recommend them to anyone. Scam alert. To sum it up, their services are garbage.

I signed up for Orkin, just from brand name recognition. I had a problem with fleas and cockroaches. I read the one-year contract after I signed it. It was so one-sided I couldn't believe it. I was required to make my monthly payments. They were required to treat my house once a month. It didn't say anything about getting rid of pests. But it did say that they would come out and treat me without extra charge if I still had pest problems. Even then, it didn't say it would get rid of them.
The Orkin man was courteous, but he gave me this song and dance about how impossible it is to control cockroaches. I know this not to be true because I have used Combat Roach Hotels to get rid of cockroaches in the past and they worked well. The Orkin treatments did not really work. They helped somewhat, I suppose. It is always more profitable to treat a problem than it is to cure it. If they cured my problem, I wouldn't have to keep their service any more, would I?
I just decided to work them to death. I called them out six to eight times a month. After a few months they were only too glad to let me out of my contract.

It has taken us over 3 weeks to prepare for Orkin's scheduled 10 am appointment to have our entire home sprayed for spiders. Due to the arrangements ,we had to make to be out of the home for 6 hours. Three dogs had to be kenneled and my wife was expecting the Orkin tech to arrive by 10am. No show, no call, contacted the Orkin tech/Sosian and he informed me he would have to reschedule for 11:30am (which meant not re-entering our home until after 6pm). Contacted Hemal the manager and he did not provide any solution either. Very poor customer service or consideration for the effort put forth in our preparations and the logistics of planning everything. Someone could have called to say they were running late or reschedule but they did not care, even when I called them. No wonder they have such an extremely poor service record. Should have checked before using them.

After cancelling my account due to no one coming to my home for two months, they put a new tech on my route. He supposedly came to my home unannounced, not scheduled to do a service call. No door tag was left, no phone message informing me of his visit was left. They all of a sudden sent me a bill for $75. I was like "must be a mistake because no one has been here since Dec 2013." April I started receiving payment demand call so I ask the rep to have someone call me to explain exactly what I was being billed for since they always said they did not have that info. So now I have a collection agency calling and sending letters. I called the agency back to find out this guy supposedly came and did a perimeter treatment; what is that. Park in front of my house and look at it because in January it was snowing (so now they think I'm stupid).
Okay!!! Now I have finally had it, called them and they said call the branch had to handle it. Called the branch, spoke with Douglas who was very unprofessional, did not want to get a supervisor for me. So I asked his name and then miraculously a supervisor appeared out of the air. I spoke with the supervisor and he told me there was nothing he could do but send someone out to my house as a courtesy. WTH Now why would I want to start this all over again. I told him if he could prove to me someone came to my house (supposedly doing the perimeter only) I would pay the bill; silence... Okay now I hear, "let me "run" this pass my boss and I'll call you back." Well guess what; they REALLY got the wrong one. To be continued...

Disappointed and completely dissatisfied. Unprofessional C/S on the phone, and unprofessional technicians that say things like "Well, I can spray it all day long and it still wouldn't get rid of the problem." Our silverfish problem still exists, and they don't come out for in-between visits like they "guarantee" if the problem persists. Decide to make up their own schedule - for 6 months we had a steady schedule. Now they come out whenever it's convenient for them without plausible explanations. But when it's time to charge your card, they seem to have those records straight and available. So, the outcome is "We want charge you for NOT getting rid of the problem, whenever it's convenient to us". "As long as you pay with a credit card on file - we're good (!) but everything else is your problem!!" I'm dropping them. If this practice continues, I wonder how long they would last.
