The experience I had with National Floors Direct was very positive. The person who came to the house for the quote was very pleasant and knowledgeable and had plenty of samples to show me. He walked me through all of my options and warranties for each one. He arranged all the work to be done in a timely fashion that worked for us! The people who installed our carpet and flooring were very professional and did an amazing job. They were very complete, tidy, and professional. It turned my new house into a completely new house and it looks wonderful! I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to have flooring or hardwood floors installed because their prices can't be beat. Thank you for such a pleasant experience, clean job, and making my house look wonderful!

We were impressed from the moment I clicked submit for the online registration. Moments later we received a call to schedule our in home appointment. We were able to get the day and time that worked best for us without hesitation. The salesman called ahead and gave his time of arrival. He was professional and had lots of samples. We never felt pressured and he gave us information to help make our decision. Due to construction in our home we had the installation planned out a few weeks after our appointment again this was on our time line without hesitation.
On the scheduled day of installation we not only received a call from the main office to confirm our time we also received a call from the installers also confirming. Once here they showed me the sample of what we ordered and began installing. Shortly after they realized 1/2 the order was incorrect and they quickly rectified the situation. During this time I felt they were handling the situation and assured me the floor would still be installed as scheduled which it was. The floor is exactly what we expected and are still pleased with it today. I would use National Floors again.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience with National Floors Direct. There were a few issues with scheduling my in home estimate, but it eventually worked itself out. I'm glad I did the in home estimate because I found it very helpful to see the carpet swatches in the room it was going to be in. So often you don't know how carpet will look against a paint color and with furniture. Having the swatches brought to my home allowed me to see that. We were able to schedule my install almost immediately. My installer arrived early, moved all of my furniture, and worked quietly and quickly. It was a great experience.

My floors were put in wrong. The installers did not remove the floorboard and I now have a gap from floor to wall. I filed a complaint and an appointment was made to come out and correct the botched job. The day of the appointment which was confirmed the day before is now a no show and they don’t know why. And they couldn’t even call me to let me. Before you pay they call you every day. Once the job is done they keep you on hold, hang up the phone and give you no explanations. I have to wait till next week is when they have a chance to come out. Funny business all the way!
Updated on 06/18/2018: Fast forward follow up of Initial my complaint! They sent out the same guy who Initially installed the floors... He refused to do anything and we got into a verbal war. He called the warehouse manager who is as nasty as everyone else in the company and he also screamed at me and hung up the phone on me. The installer left! After several phone calls to the company not mention recorded and they admit to the wrongdoing, basically what was said was I had to suck it up and they weren’t fixing my wood floors install!
I filed a civil claim which EVERYONE should go to Queens civil court and upon the judge hearing the case he had no choice but to chuckle because the BOZO they sent out to represent the company had this one piece of FORGED with my signature and checked of with excellent satisfactory “crucial document” Which OOps for them. Guess who had her original piece of document which was REALLy Signed by me and had no checks... ME!!! Basically I won the civil suit however it has now been about three weeks and still no payment.
I called and the idiots in customer service the same ones from before of course waiting on “Management team” to approve this check. Stay away from this company. They are fraudulent, they have horrible customer service, they lie, cheat and bully their customers! I wonder why I haven’t received a message from the crappy place saying “we strive to Blah blah blah”. I will air out all your dirty laundry and compel everyone who has been cheated by you to file civil claims!!! You guys should not be open and should not have any right to call yourself a business.

In the spring of 2010 we had our kitchen and entryway done by National Floors Direct. Terrible work! I had to have a different installer from their company return and redo ALL the moldings around the room. They repaired the hack job the first crew had done. Now comes the worst part!!! Even though I specifically asked when the first installers were here about coverage under the refrigerator. ("DID YOU DO UNDER THE FRIDGE"?) They assured me that they did! Well, a few months later the fridge broke, and much to my dismay, they indeed DID NOT do under it!!! Now the new refrigerator of course wasn't the same size in dimensions as the old one, so you can guess how that worked out! NEVER again will I use this company. They hire nothing but sub quality installers!

We had an appointment today with a seller from National Floors Direct to get a quote. My husband and I are looking to have the carpeting in the entire house taken out and replaced with laminate flooring. Initially the seller was very nice. Measured the home and showed us samples. We expressed an interest in using 12mm laminate and he explained that although his was only 10mm the quality and the thickness of the sealant made a difference. It was all going good when suddenly he became very pushy. We repeatedly told him that we did not wish to close today since he was only the second quote that we had gotten so far. Plus, we liked the flooring he was showing us but we knew nothing about these brands and wanted a couple of days to do our due diligence. He kept lowering the price to get us to sign. Which in itself seemed kinda fishy. He went from $5661 all the way down to $3000. It all just seemed very desperate and not at all comforting.
The seller kept calling his manager trying to get more information to try to convince us but he talked to him in a manner about us like we were being unreasonable. His manager upset me even more because I could hear him saying to the seller that "that's what we have to deal with, people who find low quality flooring at Home Depot and try to compare it with our high quality flooring. They know nothing about flooring. Our brands are the top 3 in the nation." So I guess we were just the idiots that didn't understand because we didn't want to rush into anything.
In the end the seller left clearly very upset. In fact he didn't even leave me the estimate for the service, didn't shake my hand on his way out, and left me no information on how to contact him in case we decided to close with them. Basically, if I wasn't ready to close on the spot I guess he didn't want my business. It was all really weird. I would never hire people who act like that, even if it was for free. And I will definitely be steering all of my family and friends away from such a crazy company.

I can’t say enough about how great my experience with National Floors. They were kind, considerate of my belongings. They were on time, they didn’t waste any time and my carpets look Awesome. I had hardwood floors put in 4 years ago and also that was a great experience, the floors still look awesome. They did a great job.

From the time we placed our quote request online to when the job was completed, the entire process was painless. Customer service was friendly and efficient. The estimator was on time and knowledgeable. The installer, Humberto, arrived early and was done within a timely manner. He was professional, polite, and courteous. The room was neat and clean upon departure. The quality of the carpet exceeded our expectations for the price that we paid. We are very happy with our experience with National Floors Direct. We plan to use them again in the future.

Working with National Floors Direct was a great experience. From start to finish the process was very easy, from them being able to explain to me the process of installation, and being able to answer any question I had. I had them do my carpeting at my second home which I only can be at Friday through Sunday. I had a meeting set up and got my estimate on a Saturday, and that following Friday they came out. My brand new carpet was installed that day in a professional like manner. I am very happy to say that for any other flooring needs I will be calling national floors direct because their prices, Workmanship, and professionalism were 10/10. Thank you National floors direct for such great service, and for providing me with a brand new, very soft carpet. Not only will I be using this company for any of my further needs, but I will also recommend them to anyone who is in need of flooring.

I would give a zero rating if I could!!! Had some sleazy salesman come out and pushed for a decision immediately or my price would go up 30%. Ok, fine. I signed on the dotted line and scheduled 2 weeks later for install. Took the day off of work so it would be nice and easy. I ripped up all the carpet and padding so it would just be an easy install. I get a call the day before my installation that my measurements got lost and someone needed to re-do them.
After a couple hours of hearing nothing, I called to see when to expect someone out for installation. I got the complete runaround!! They told me that my order was cancelled and the manager would look into it. After an hour, I was informed that this sleazy salesman ordered the wrong number of cases and it would cost me an extra $800!!! So now after all this runaround, and wasted PTO days, we are stuck with nothing. They demand a cash deposit upfront and now I have to wait for it to be 'processed'. It's ok for them to get their money upfront, but when they screw over their customers, here we wait...

We contacted them about flooring for our daughter's house - entire house. Salesman (former military) seemed genuine to a certain extent. (Several calls to his boss to "try" & negotiate rate.) He finally talked us into vinyl flooring and we agreed to installation for several days later on 8/7/17. My husband arranged his schedule to be at the house at 8 AM as they requested. Around 11 am when they didn't appear, he called and after several back & forth delays over another hour, was finally told the flooring arrived to them "wet" and they refused the shipment. Said they would install the end of the week. Another call to them at the end of the week, they said it was delayed another week. At this point we were upset and reminded them of their agreement. I was told the contract says "estimated" install date. When the installers finally arrived some ten days late, they demanded full payment advance. (A certified bank check was required for payment.)
I called the company to say we didn't want to make full payment of the balance until the job was done and that we showed the installer the bank check. We had also made a deposit of over $2,400 at the time we signed the contract so now we were committed. Contact at National Floors (supposedly manager) refused to authorize them to start installation until they were given the check. Our stress levels were through the roof as the closing on our daughter's house was just a couple of days away. We finally gave in and gave them the check...BIG MISTAKE. They spent two days on install and at the end of the 2nd day, halfway through the family room, they RAN OUT of flooring. They promised they would be back by the end of the week to finish install but that too did not happen. It was another ten days before they came back to finish. Through all of this was the fact that they said the sales person we dealt with was not available to speak with us.
On top of all of this, the quality of the install was incredibly sub-standard. Trim around edges was poorly cut. We greatly regretted not financing this project with them instead of paying in advance because we would have had some leverage. Never in our lives have we ever had such a poor experience with a company. If we can save one person or family from the disaster and stress we experienced with this company, my time in writing this review is well worth this effort.

Let me start by saying that the guys that came out to install the floor were great. Nice guys. The "installation" of the floor looks good. HOWEVER... I would NEVER use this company again. The "samples" that we were shown did not match wha was sent to the house at all. The first time they sent the flooring the color was so off that we sent it back. Did they care? Nope. Just told us that we will now have to pay a $250 "restocking" fee. The second time they came... same thing... color was not what was shown in the sample. The sample we saw was beautiful..the floor that is now in my kitchen looks like nothing more than cheap laminate but according to national floors... it's hardwood.
Do yourself a HUGE favor. Go elsewhere and get what you ordered as well as customer service that actually cares about their product and their customer. Never never again will I use them, recommend them to any realtors I work with, or to anyone else...
Ms. Lauria's review is slanderous and contains false information. She purchased pre-finished hardwood flooring. This is a natural product; it doesn't "match" any other hardwood flooring.
The customer acknowledged that the first batch of wood was correct and National Floors Direct returned it and changed the product in good faith anyway without assessing any restocking fee, as was our right.The work has been completed and signed off as excellent.

My wife and I decided after 22 years it was time to install new carpet in 3 bedrooms, hallway and a runner going down the stairs. My In-laws had recently gone to a local Merchant for their carpet installation and overall were pretty satisfied. My wife had suggested that we just go with the local merchant but after hearing so much advertising by National Floors I decided to get an estimate from them as well. The sales person (Larry **) came over as scheduled. He was friendly and personable and gave us a very satisfactory quote but used his high pressure sales tactic to close the sale.
We were going to save approximately $600. We were a little nervous but he guaranteed us that they will beat any price and their workmanship is second to none. He had checked out the area to be carpeted and he told us that we had average size rooms with average amount of furniture and that the only thing that National Floors required was for us to remove was all drawers and empty out the closets and the installers would do the rest. We complied to their request and even removed a couple of the smaller pieces for them.
Things got very interesting from the day of the installation. First, let me say this when you are spending $4,000 on carpet and the installers come over to your house you would expect a professional greeting with a handshake. I opened my door and introduced myself and stuck out my hand and the guy looked at me as if I had two heads. Anyway, the guy was all business with not a hint of personality. The 3 installers came in and went right to work. Within a half hour we received a call from National Floors figuring this was a courtesy call to see how things were going.
My wife was the one who answered their call and I hear my wife being upset. Customer service was asking for an extra $200 for excessive furniture and If we didn't pay they were going to walk off the job. I hit the roof and said they were not going to get an extra dime from me. The customer service rep was arrogant and insistent they were just going to walk off the job. I was insistent that if they do there was going to be big trouble. I had explained to him that we did exactly what the Larry ** told us to do and then some.
He said, "Read your contract and the contract states that National Floors has the right to charge extra if the installers complained." I told him that this is between National Floors, Installers and the Salesperson. I spent about a half hr. on the phone with this jerk. The Customer service person said he would call us back after he talked with his supervisor. In the meantime the installers continued to work and actually finished with the exception of the runner going down the stairs. The installers left without taking the old runner and they said he didn't have the tools which is B.S. Keep in mind that before the installers begin work they require full payment before they start.
Now they have all our money. Also, keep in mind when all this was going on I tried contacting my Sales Rep Larry ** and I left him several messages to let him know what was going on. I received not one call back from him over the next week and never did hear from him again. Larry also knew that if we were satisfied with the job that we were most likely going to carpet another 3 rooms. Go Figure!!!
To finish up my experience with National floors they came over the following week to complete installing the runner. To Sum Up My Experience: Liars. Bait & Switch. Un-Professional. Installers were not that good in cleaning up after themselves. Installers kept leaving front door wide open. No exaggeration: 20 times over the course of 4 hrs. after they knew I wanted it closed. I just hope that the installation holds up.

My wife and I wanted to use this company to install hardwood in our lake house that we are remodeling. We were told by their rep that the only available time ALL week was Monday evening from 6-8pm. That was it. I told them that this was an inconvenience as I would not be home from my office and my wife is a government employee. They stated that was the only plausible time. So we agreed. Both my wife and I were waiting at our house for the rep to arrive. AT 5:41PM I received a call letting me know of a scheduling conflict. I missed the call and the message was left on my voicemail. I called the number back immediately however my call was sent to an answering service that told me their office was closed for the day?!?!?!
At 6:54PM almost an hour after they were supposed to arrive I received a phone call from the "closed" office. The rep told me that the salesman that was supposed to come to my home was not able to because his wife went into labor and he went to the hospital instead. The rep wanted to reschedule. I told him no thank you. But the kicker? At 8:16 PM yet another rep called me to reschedule. He profusely apologized for the salesman missing the appointment because he had broken down on the parkway. Yes you read that correctly. I received 4 separate lies from this company from 5:41 Pm until 8:16 PM. My wife purposely took the night off to be available and I left work early. This is beyond unprofessional. If they are willing to lie profusely about something like this what else are they willing to lie and cheat about? I wouldn't trust any of them in my house. I will never consider this company ever again.

Our lady came in with her tape measure and then asked me to hold it "what does it say"? Really? I'm going to measure my own carpet? And then the price came, 3 rooms for $3,100! What happened to $888? We haven't even picked the carpet yet! Then it went down to $2,000 and then a manager called my husband and said $1,500. Hmm... Then the lady gets up and leaves upset that we wouldn't sign and left all her samples at our house. We have tried unsuccessfully to get someone to pick them up, heck just answer the message. We know you saw it and read it but nothing! Don't know how you stay in business.

From initial consult to installation, I loved working with National Floors Direct. We had reached out to Home Depot first and their experts weren't able to answer our questions or even guarantee that they would be able to install the floors over our old, existing flooring. We were shocked to hear how long it would be before they would have time to schedule us for installation. We were worried and felt we couldn't trust in their services. That's when I called National Floors Direct and within minutes we had a consultation scheduled for the very next day. The woman who came to our house was an expert, showing us samples and explaining everything. Having our questions answered was such a relief! In a single day, National Floors Direct carpeting our entire upstairs in beautiful wall-to-wall carpeting. Now we have a home we're proud to show off to friends, and soft, inviting rooms. THANK YOU!

On Feb 27, 2018 I called National Floors Direct to cancel the installation. I waited almost 45 minutes just to speak to someone. Finally I spoke to James, who told me the manager Tom was on another call. I called back and I finally had a chance to speak to Tom. I told Tom that I wanted to cancel the installation. Tom told me that I cannot cancel. Tom told me that I needed to call three days before to cancel a installation. The carpet has not been cut or anything yet. Tom told me I could set up another date later for installation. I told him again that I did not want the carpet. I will get a lawyer if I am force to buy something that I do not want. What a lousy company to do business with.
We have been holding this carpet, which is custom cut to the sizes of this customer's installation space for MORE THANT THREE MONTHS. They have rescheduled almost a half dozen times. This complaint is completely baseless.

We went with National Floors Direct because we had used them before and they did a great job. We were having new hardwood floors put in up in our 2 bedrooms and hallway and new stairs. On this past Saturday morning 2-24-18 the guys show up to do the rooms. Only 1 of the 3 guys spoke English so that was a small problem. So they start the work and we think, "Wow. They are doing a good job" and we thought they were going to come back the next day to finish the stairs. They ended up finishing it all on Saturday.
We had told the guys that we had just all the rooms upstairs painted so to try and be careful. So we go up to look at the rooms and what we saw we were not happy with. We found many marks on our newly painted walls along with some walls damaged for the tools they used. We found that they never finished some of the corners in each bedrooms. Last night we discovered the new steps they put in one of them was never nailed down correctly so you can see right under it. When we told these guys we were not happy they never said sorry or anything else. This is an outside contractor that they hired to do the work and I would never recommend them again. We paid a lot of money to have this work done. We will be filing a complaint with this company and with the Better Business Bureau if we don't get some satisfaction from them. I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AGAIN TO ANYONE.

I gathered 3 quotes for my carpet installation. National Floors Direct were competitive and the quality of the carpet excellent. My order came right from Mohawk Carpets. From the salesman representative to the installation everything was smooth and uncomplicated. They came when they said they would and installed the carpet in a professional manner that I was pleased with. The entire process gave me a good feeling that the money was well spent.

The team that installed my floors were courteous and efficient. Everyone remarks on how beautiful they are. The rugs were installed in three bedrooms. They were fast and efficient. Also the moved all of the furniture and the rugs are beautiful.

Poor quality of work and horrible customer service. This is our second time putting a complaint about National Floors Direct. When we put the first complaint in with BBB we were contacted the very next day by the Manager Tom and were told that a technician would be at our home on 1/31/18 between 8am and 12pm to fix the issues from the previous complaint. We took time out of work AGAIN and NO ONE ever showed up!!! They even called in the morning to confirm and said more than likely it would be on the earlier window of the 8-12 timeframe. They showed up at 2pm and we were not home as we had to go back to work.
We called to complain and spoke to Tom and were told that if we wanted to reschedule we would have to pay for it! We said we would be contacting our attorney and we received a callback within 25 minutes rescheduling our appointment to 2/6/18 between 3pm and 6pm. We have cameras on our property and guess what no one ever showed up again and we both took time out of work AGAIN to be home for 3:00pm. Very very unprofessional and disappointed with this company as they do not stick by their policies or by their word.
While National Floors Direct values the perspective of every customer, Mr. Hensen has grossly misconstrued the facts surrounding his installation and repair order. He has been verbally abusive with the installation team dispatched to his home, and has threatened him with physical violence. He is not acting in good faith nor has he been willing to participate in the installation warranty process.

I was a returning customer. National installed half of my first floor with hardwood. This job was to finish the first floor and a hall upstairs with matching materials. I specifically went with them to assure consistency in wood looks. Who wants a non-matching wood floor in half the house? Their salesman, John **, came to the house for the pricing. I was specifically clear that I wanted the exact same wood and moldings. I was also specific that I wanted a completely level floor between rooms, no rise at the transition. They were to "weave" the new boards into the old thus ending with a seamless transition. Basically butting the new boards to the old. John told me that would be no problem, just let the installers know what I wanted.
Upon arriving for the installation I was told they WOULD NOT do any weaving under any circumstances. I requested the install people confirm the agreement with sales, John **. They refused and paraphrasing said John was out of the picture and it was take it or leave it. If I left it I would be charged 15% fee. I immediately asked to have a phone to contact John. They refused. They did say that talked to him which is unlikely as I learned later, I was speaking to a call center. They also said they would reach out to him to relay that I wanted to talk to him. I have never received a follow-up call from John. I told to proceed and that we would resolve this in court.
THEN they install the molding which doesn't not match my current molding. The wood matches fine. I immediately informed the installer and called to complain about the non matching color. They say it is correct and again take it or leave it. Again I end it with we will resolve it in court. Upon "completion" and my final inspection I discover the transition moldings do not cover the wood that was gouged (and hidden) from the original transition piece and use. Both transitions showed the same damage. The installer was able to move the transition board to cover the damage. On the other he was not able to cover the damage. There is a half inch strip of gouged unfinished wood showing. The root cause of this is a failure to properly lay out the abutting new boards close enough so the transition board (which was never supposed to be there anyway) would cover the damage.
I've had a minimum of a dozen calls. I also talked to Armstrong flooring who supply the wood. They agree the correct 1/4 round for my Sahara color is T7443. National installed T7440. I have the label of the box and an uncut piece with a bar code and the T7440 on it. Additionally I have the installer's work sheet, work order which specifies the correct T7443. See pic of the floor with the wrong installed molding with a piece of the correct mold in front to show the difference. As installed with the rise at the transitions, it is now unlikely the floor and be weaved so that there is no rise as agreed at the time of contract signing. The floor will have to be completely removed and re-installed. I would never recommend them for any work, any place, any time. I will be litigating this along with filing a formal complaint with the CT Dept of Consumer Protection.

The salesmen from National Floors Direct that came to my house was very knowledgeable about the products. He was very nice and did not push us in any different direction than we wanted. He gave us the best deal possible when we told him about other quotes from different companies. The day of the install was smooth. NFD called and planned on coming later in the day, I told them that was kind of late and they obliged my request to start earlier. Unnoticed was a slight issue with the carpet a few days later and NFD came out quickly and resolved the problem. The product is exactly what I was expecting. The carpet is very comfortable and soft. I am satisfied with the service and I will definitely use National Floors Direct for more next flooring needs.

I contracted with NFD and decided to cancel my order as I decided to repair my floors rather than install a new floor. I called to cancel within the designated 3 business days and they told me they had to have the cancellation in writing and it had to be received by them via mail. That would be impossible! I offered to drive the cancellation to their offices and they would not accept it unless it came via mail. What a scam!!! I have engaged an attorney.

We recently had flooring installed by National Floors Direct, Jan 2018. Originally, when we were presented a sample board of flooring by their sales person, it clearly stated Armstrong. I was expecting the quality of Armstrong flooring for the price we paid, but, instead we received a lower quality Bruce flooring made by Armstrong. During our conversation with the salesperson there was no mention that we picked out a different brand other than Armstrong and nothing was suggested that we selected a different brand other than Armstrong. After doing some research on how to take care of the floor, I could not find the exact style and brand of floor we selected. I called National Floors Direct and questioned their customer service department about the flooring before it was installed. They insisted that the flooring type and style was correct Armstrong flooring was being installed.
What was actually installed was Bruce flooring and today, I finally found a picture that I took of the sample board which clearly states Armstrong and not Bruce, which confirms my suspicion. I tried to resolve this situation with their customer service manager, but, received the same explanation - this is what I ordered and that we happen to pick out Bruce flooring on their sample board. Well, nothing on their sample board stated Bruce flooring, just Armstrong flooring. I said, “No I ordered Armstrong color bark, not Bruce color wood stock.” The color is not the issue. Very similar. Almost identical, but, I would not have purchased the flooring for the price we paid if they told me it was Bruce, a much lesser quality floor made by Armstrong.
When I contacted National Floors Direct, I was expecting them to do the right thing, admit that there was a difference in the product, quality and the price; possibly propose a settlement or refund of some kind. I was wrong, they said that I what I ordered was what they installed. *They show premium brand samples and substituted a different brand of lesser quality, beware of the switch.*

Our Estimator, Eric **, was very knowledgeable, courteous and arrived on time. He was very friendly and made great suggestions. When we decided to re do our floors we called Empire first. We had an absolutely horrible experience with them and ended up having to cancel our order after they had already ripped out half of our old flooring. We ripped out the rest of the floor ourselves and laid down a brand new subfloor. We called National Floors Direct and they came in and laid a beautiful brand new floor throughout our entire downstairs in one day. The cleaned up their mess and they even went above and beyond with filling in nail holes and making everything look as perfect as possible. Needless to say National Floors Direct will always be my first call from now on.

Number 1 they were 45 minutes late. I specifically told them I had my place plastered and painted. They scratched up my walls when they moved furniture around which means I have to spend more money to plaster the scratches and get more paint to retouch my walls. And they left my front entrance a mess. I should've chose Empire. They were going to do the installation of the carpet $1000 cheaper. But I would've been penalized for cancelling. And one of the installers ask me for cigarettes. Now that's unprofessional.

If I could possibly give a score of ZERO, I would. A representative from National Floors Direct (PETER) gave me an estimate for installation of hardwood floors on my stairs and second floor hallway on January 12, 2018. I told the representative that in addition, I wanted new moldings to be installed and “strings” (wood panels) going up the stairs. The agreement was made and the total amount due $3,568.00. I was told that I had to make a deposit of a third of the total amount. I made out a check in the amount of $1,282.00, and was told that installation would be done in ten (10) days. I was actually given the installation date of January 24.
I received a call on Wednesday, January 17th., from a representative, stating that final measurements need to be taken before the actual installation. The installer arrived today, January, 18th and did the measurements. I went over everything that was expected for installation. Through no fault of his (being the messenger), he made it clear that the “stings” were not included. I promptly called the company... spoke to three different reps about what I was told. Long story short, I was misled by the representative who came to my house. NFD made it seem that I misunderstood what was told to me.
After looking over the contract, sure enough, it was not included... Shame on me for not going over EVERYTHING with a fine-tooth comb before signing. I asked for a refund of my deposit and was told that it was too late. Refunds are only given within three days after the contract is signed. I had to calmly explain that the problem did not arise until after the three-day deadline was passed. NFD says one thing and does another. I’m truly disappointed and angry at myself for not doing my due diligence of investigating this company thoroughly before doing business with them.
Updated on 1/29/2018: I received a call from National Floors Direct on Monday, January 22, 2018, confirming installation of wood floors on my stairs and hallway. The gentleman who called, reviewed the services that would be rendered and reinforced that the installers should be given cash, money order, or certified bank check UPON ARRIVAL!!! My mouth was agape... Who gets paid for services not yet rendered??? I argued the point with the representative who pointed out that it was written in the contract.
After once again reviewing the contract, I saw that it was HANDWRITTEN. I promptly went to my bank and purchased a certified check for $10.00. Upon returning home, there were two (2) messages left on my machine from NFD stating that it was very important that I contact TOM, regarding the next day’s installation. Upon making contact, I was told, “We had a meeting regarding your installation, and it was discovered that you were underpriced.” HAVE YOU EVER??? “How much?” I asked. “$2000 to $3000 dollars more... If you care to continue with the installation, we will have to adjust the price accordingly, or if you prefer, your deposit will be refunded.” YOU CAN’T MAKE THESE THINGS UP!!!
Now this was my chance to get even, because as per my contract, $3569.00 was the cost of installation. However, I had a bad feeling about these CHARLATANS, based on their “bait and switch” tactics; hence, I opted for a prompt refund. When asked, “How prompt?” I was told “...five to ten business days.” After pondering the “comedy” of errors on the part of NFD, I realized that I paid $10.00 for a certified bank check through no fault of my own and the amount SHOULD be included in my refund. WELL, I made a call earlier this morning and asked for Tom (same guy who called and left the message).
After identifying who I was, I was told, “Tom is out of the office.” I explained that I was calling about $10.00 more that should be added to my refund. The gentleman told me that he didn’t think that it was possible for me to obtain that additional ($10.00) amount. I had to let him know that I am prepared to write a scathing review on NFD... I was put on hold. Miraculously, Tom REAPPEARED!!! I once again explained my reason for calling. He assured me that he would put in the requisition for the extra $10.00. to be added to my refund. “When can I expect to receive my refund,” I asked. “fifteen to thirty days,” was the response. BUYER, BEWARE!!!

The salesperson lied about the product that they could install. The installers were unable to do it. They were not knowledgeable about the different products. The manager Tom whom I dealt with deceived me over and over and overcharged me for the job. More than $10,000 for kitchen and hallway. They then charged me for subflooring which was not done and refused to issue me a refund for $1500 when I informed them that the subflooring was not done. He told me that they didn’t charge me a restocking fee and therefore we are even and that I was not going to get a refund. He also told me that if they had done the subflooring, I would’ve had to pay for the wood, a charge that they failed to tell me about. Lots of lies and deceit. Beware of these people. I would never use them again.

The sales representative was very friendly and helpful. My wood floor was installed in time. This was supposed to be the best. I called the customer service because I have problems with the flooring after one year and I noticed some places were not installed correct. They give me an email address and told me to send pictures. I tried the email number but is was not valid. So I am attaching the pictures now.
This floor has been soaked with water - it is completely water damaged. There are no issues with the product or installation. Even the air return is completely rusted and corroded.

Salesman very helpful in my selection of carpeting. Courteous, informative and patient. I am very pleased with my choice of carpeting. Installation went smoothly and without a hitch. The installers worked without interruption and were done in 2 hrs. I had a large area to cover. They cleaned and vacuumed and replaced furniture, including a baby grand piano, to its original place.

I am happy to take this opportunity to share my experience with National Floors Direct about my new kitchen floor. I had seen ads for National Floors Direct on TV. One day, knowing it was something I wanted to do, I called them. I really needed to update my carpeting in the house. In a short period of time, a representative came to the house. There was no charge for the consultation. He brought in samples of the type of carpet I was looking for. There was a fair amount of samples and different grades to choose from. He also told me if I needed anything at all regarding my order, to call him and he gave me his card. He was very pleasant and not pushy at all. The installers came at the beginning of the appointed time frame which was wonderful. They were experienced. They explained the process completely. We've used National Floors Direct three times now. Once for a basement gym with luxury vinyl. We were so happy with the results we then redid a bedroom with luxury vinyl. And finally again for a closet with luxury vinyl. We got quotes from both Empire and Luna and each time NFD was better in price, or we were able to get it price matched. We were hesitant the luxury vinyl would look cheap but no one can tell the difference from hardwood flooring. Very pleased with our flooring. Would definitely recommend and use again.

We called National Floors Direct to replace our existing carpet in our living room. The room measures approximately 20 feet by fifteen feet in area. My initial contact was via your website and within minutes my phone rang to schedule an appointment. The sales Representative showed up on time and was pleasant and informative. He had samples and gave knowledgeable advice. I do wish however that he had a sample of the 6 lb padding and that there was an option for an upgraded pad. We settled on a price and an installation date and gave a deposit.
A phone call confirmed our installation date and on that morning a specific time frame was told to us via another call. The installers showed up on time and were very professional. They removed the old carpet and pad and installed the new. There was a seam between pieces at the rear of the room the was very professionally attended to and isn't noticeable at all. We are very happy with the process and will recommend national floors direct to our friends and family and of course other home projects in the future.

Our experience with National Floors Direct was positive. The salesman came to my house on time as scheduled. He was not pushy or aggressive and recommended the carpet that was part of the 3 rooms for $888 special for our rental unit. Although our rooms exceeded the max square footage for that special, the price was still reasonable. The day of install went fine. The installers came within the allotted time frame and got right to work. They moved the furniture carefully with no incidents. I was concerned about the payment upfront but the installer left the bank check right on the kitchen table until we signed off on our satisfaction of the install. We had a positive experience and over a month later still have no issues with carpet.

My wife and I were looking to change out the 5 year old carpeting in our beachside condominium in Plymouth. I am in project management and understand how a project is priced and invoiced to the customer. We decided to deal with Home Depot, National Floors Direct, and Empire Flooring. Knowing that the cost is a product of three things; material amount, cost of material, and labor, I had done my research and knew the answer to all but the cost of the material. I always approach a project from this standpoint, and this allows me to be in the driver’s seat and control the sale.
I will say that the salesman from National Floors was the most genuine of the three folks we dealt with. He was concerned about why we were unhappy with our 5 year old carpeting, and most concerned that the product we selected would serve the purpose we demanded from this project. His measurements were very close to mine, so that was not an issue. Other’s measurements were significantly higher and ultimately would have led to a higher cost. We had an idea what carpeting costs were, and finally selected the one we all felt would serve us best. There was never a pressure to upsell; just a desire to satisfy. He promised an installation date, confirmed it before he left our home, and explained in detail the entire process.
From start to finish, the entire project was simple and most importantly, we are very happy with the installation and the look of our new carpeting. Time will tell if the carpet wears according to the manufacturer’s specifications, but we have their guarantee and warranty to hang our hat on if there is ever an issue. National Floors was fair, professional, and courteous from start to finish. I highly recommend considering them if you are looking for a new floor!

We were in desperate need of a carpet update! Two bedrooms had 20 year old carpets that were beyond their years and the media room had a DIY carpet that never really looked good especially at the transitions. We called National Floors Direct and set up a quick visit from the salesmen who had tons of options and colors. We were so pleased with the selection we choose to also carpet the breezeway on the spot. The price was excellent and the install appointment was very convenient. Two installers arrived on time and were super polite and professional, making sure to keep the house clean as they worked. They finished in a few hours and we are so happy with the result, there's such a transformation of the rooms. Working with the National Floors Direct customer service was an adventure, but working with the installers was a top notch experience! The two guys were timely, and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done right. When there were hurdles they had to navigate, they stayed late into the night to make sure they finished on time. As I made simple requests throughout the job, they were receptive and worked with me to find a way to make it happen. I’m glad I didn’t try to do this myself, because the expertise they exhibited could not be matched! National Floors Direct was a completely painless process from sales through installation. I thought it was going to be weeks before the floors would be installed but National Floors Direct was willing to be there the next day. They scheduled the install to accommodate my personal schedule. The contractors were professional and courteous as well as great craftsman. The flooring choices were exceptional.
They were reachable by phone and email to answer any questions I had. This is not the case with the majority of contractors so I was pleased with their accessibility. NFD and the work crews were on time and worked tirelessly. They made it a point to include me in any decision, large or small, to ensure that every detail was to our liking. There were some obstacles due to the angles of the basement floor, which could potentially not make them look flush but the workers brainstormed a solution. We had a representative come to our house and he showed us multiple different floor types and gave us a suggestion on what he thought we would like based on price and material. I first called National Floors Direct several years ago when we were finishing a basement bedroom for my newly married daughter and her husband. The process was very painless, and quick. The salesman was polite and offered us a full range of price and variety. We had the room carpeted in a few days and my daughter moved in soon afterwards. We next needed to replace the whole first floor carpet, and this time I did my research carefully since the investment was considerably more.
National Floors Direct came through again with the best price and excellent service. The closest competition was several hundred dollars more, and did not include removal and disposal of the old carpet! After several years a pet finally destroyed the carpet in one bedroom, and that had to be replaced. The NFD salesman was able to offer a choice within our budget, and the job was completed on the day we requested by an excellent installation team. I will definitely call again the next time we need new carpet or flooring!

We choose National Floors Direct as we had seen the ads on TV and wanted new carpeting by Thanksgiving which was 2 weeks away. We were contacted right away after we called and an appointment set up for an in home appraisal. The man who came out was friendly and helpful. He found out what we were looking for and brought only a few samples into our home instead of overwhelming us with numerous samples of types of carpet we weren't interested in. We then received a fair price which included moving large furniture, tearing up and removing old carpet, installation of pad and carpet, moving back furniture and clean up.
The installers came in the time frame provided, did everything as promised, were professional and did a very good job. They had me check the color before they put it down, and had me check seams, which were near impossible to see. The new carpeting looks beautiful and we are very pleased we choose National Floors Direct.

I recently had carpets installed in my new home and I couldn't be happier with the experience provided by National Floors Direct. From the start with the salesperson, it was a very smooth process. He made finding the right carpet for my home very easy and the competitive pricing couldn't be beat. National Floors Direct was the best call for flooring, they completed the job as promised on time and on budget. I began with paying Home Depot to install my new hardwood floors and what a huge mistake that was. To begin with it took them multiple weeks to source lumber which came in damaged and unfinished when I was promised a 100% finished floor in one week. After getting my refund from them, I'd rather talk about how National Floors Direct came to my rescue when my elderly mother had only rough plywood on her floor during Thanksgiving. All the Depot could do was get me a floor next year maybe and not even finished.
National Floors Direct came in with a competitive price and had wonderful craftsmen install my floor as promised. My mother has a beautiful 4000sq ft custom house and we could not just have anyone install this floor, It had to meet high standards. My mother is very meticulous and they pleased her and got us a wonderful floor way better than anyone else was offering. I would recommend National Floors Direct to anyone and will use them in the future for sure. The hardwood oak floor came out absolutely gorgeous without any hassle absolutely love it!

We were very pleased with our salesperson Alan. He came out to our home on a Saturday and brought samples. He measured and gave us our quote. He was able to reduce the price to fit our budget. My husband's job doesn't give him the time to go out to shop in stores and having someone come to our home was very important. I was so pleased and impressed with the installers. They were courteous, very professional and did a great job! They installed new carpeting in my living room and my basement so that we could finally use it as a family room. They carpeted the stairs into the basement and they look perfect. They cleaned up everything and vacuumed the new carpeting before they left. My wife contacted National Floors Direct to install carpeting. Having never used this company before I was somewhat skeptical. The installer (Hassan) arrived on time and was very amiable. He was extremely meticulous in installing the carpet. He also cleaned up his work area after the installation! Hassan had a little extra carpet padding left over for our installation and he kindly offered to cut it for an area rug that we already had!! The carpet looks beautiful! The workmanship and price is outstanding! I will definitely use National Floors Direct again and I would highly recommend this company to friends and family.

From my initial contact with the salesperson, my experience with National Floors Direct was very good. He was very knowledgeable and professional. Explained pros and cons of various products. The installation crew for both the carpeting and hard flooring were very professional as well and did a great job with the installation.

Great name brand Armstrong flooring. The salesman did a wonderful job of matching the new wood flooring to the wood in the hallway. The floor was installed 9 days after the salesman came to our home. It could have gone in sooner if we had the availability. The installers were very hard workers. They were kind and courteous and knew their jobs well. They moved all of the furniture which was a huge help. After the flooring was installed they assisted us in placing down a large new rug before moving the bed and other furniture back in place.

The gentlemen who installed my carpet came in a timely manner. From measuring to installation was less than a week. My new carpet looks fabulous. The installers worked so efficiently and fast, but thorough and cleaned up and moved all furniture necessary. There was a wide selection to choose from. Will use their services again.

Right from the beginning, my experience with National Floors Direct was a positive one. My salesperson Danilo was very professional and took his time to explain the different kinds of flooring options I was interested in. I was looking for laminate flooring and he showed me a great selection of Shaw brand floors. He took his time to measure all the rooms carefully as I was getting the ENTIRE house done with new floors. He initially quoted me a price that was a little out of my budget, but after speaking with his manager they were able to bring down the price to an amount that was amazing! They beat all the other quotes I had received by at least $1000! I scheduled the install for about 2 weeks later as I was still having some work done in my recently purchased home.
Two days before the installation, the installer called me to let me know at what time they would arrive and to give their phone number in case I had any questions or something came up prior to installation. The day of the installation the installers arrived about 30 minutes earlier, which was great and got straight to work. I easily thought it would be a whole day's worth of work with so much flooring they had to install, but they managed to install everything in about 6 hours. They did an amazing job!!! Cleaned up every little last piece and took out all the garbage with them. My experience with National Floors Direct was PERFECT!!! I would definitely recommend them to any of my friends, family members and co-workers.

I had a great experience using National Floors Direct for new carpeting in my home. They have excellent customer service. The gentleman who came to do my free estimate was punctual and very professional. The carpet installers did a fantastic job pulling out the old, and putting in the new. It was a pleasure having the team from National Floors Direct handle this job for me. I was impressed by their efficiency and professionalism. I would absolutely use them again in the future!

We are very happy with our experience with National Floors Direct. We wanted to replace the old carpet in our dining room with laminate, so we searched online, found their website and liked the selections for laminate flooring, so we completed the form online to schedule an appointment. Someone called right away to confirm our appointment. The salesperson arrived on time, and was very nice to work with. He showed us the samples, and we made our selection. He carefully measured and explained everything, and then gave us a very good price. We accepted, and he scheduled our installation date.
On the date of installation, 3 men arrived at the scheduled time, and in less than a hour and a half had removed our old carpet, and installed the beautiful new flooring just like we wanted. They even moved out the dining room table and hutch, and then put them back in place when done. We will certainly be using them next year when we replace our next room.

National Floors Direct came through for me. They put new floors in my entire house in two days. I had rugs put in 3 rooms and Luxury Vinyl Planking in my kitchen, bathroom and hallways. The floors look amazing. Shaw’s Vinyl Planking is a great choice. The rugs are nice and plush. It is so nice to come home to all new floors in my home. The installers took pride in their work. They paid attention to every little detail. They arrived as promised and worked until the job was complete.

We recently used NFD to redo our basement. We started at Lowe's, home Depot and both places didn't have the floors we liked in stock and no one really too concerned with helping us. My wife then went to another local place. She had to take the 3 kids (I certainly wasn't going to have them stay with me at home and interrupt my much needed nap time), then haul all the samples home and lug them into house. (Again I would have helped her with bringing the samples into the house but it got in the way of my aforementioned nap time (3-4 hrs)). Plus the samples were very heavy and awkwardly shaped. A job much better handled by the wife. The samples sat in our basement for a couple of weeks. She continually nagged me asking which ones I liked. Of course I refused to give get any input. (Not like she really cares what I think nor do I care what she thinks).
Eventually the store called back looking for samples back. I thought about helping and bringing the samples back but I had a pretty loaded TV viewing schedule. The prices for this store were too high and the store didn't care to help us with our small job (510 sq ft). We then called NFD. A very nice man came the next day. Brought all the samples in. My wife picked a sample. Again I gave no input. My wife could pick purple tiles and I wouldn't care as long as she stopped yelling at me about the old carpet. I was just concerned with the cost. We negotiated a reasonable price. We scheduled a day to install the next week.
On the day two guys came on time. The workers could not have been nicer. They ripped up the old floor, and by the time I was done with my daily nap the floors were done. They took their time and really did a great job. Not one complaint. They made sure I was happy before leaving. They took the old floor with them and cleaned up after themselves. NFD called a short time later to make sure I was happy. Highly recommend this to any guy who wants their wife to stop complaining to them about their floors.

This was the second time I used National Floors Direct. I am a real estate investor that operates in the distressed real estate space. Flipping homes looks great on tv, but it is a lot of work. Thus, having the right people to depend on for a tough job is critical. All the carpeting needed to be replaced in all my properties. Each time, I called upon National Floors Direct. The appraiser was prompt, quick, and accurate. The install and even removal came only days later after being very flexible with my schedule. I will continue to use their services as they are truly professional and are honest with pricing. Check out the before and after photos.

Needed a carpet installed within a week, due to our house going on the market. We went with National Floors Direct because of their advertisement to have next day installation. The salesman came by, measured the floors and told us it could be done 4 days later before our house went on the market. That was our max. We needed carpet installed quickly. I took the day off from work, waited all morning and then got a call that they were not coming. Rescheduled for the next day. My biggest complaint is that the salesman, Brian **, did not return several phone calls!! He avoided us completely and when calling the company direct, I got 2 different stories of why the delay. The 2 men who did the installation, were good. Renovating a new home and will definitely not be using them.

I called National Floors Direct on Friday 12/08 after another company who had scheduled a installation for flooring could not meet their deadline, and their next available installation date would be 12/13. An appointment was set for National Floors Direct. Website offers next day installation right on their website which would make installation on Monday if in stock. Sales representative Eric ** came to my home on Saturday, I explained to him what had happened with the other flooring company and the fact my husband is 73 on a walker. I had recently had an amputation and a diabetic and being without a stove for that long the expensive of having it reconnected and disconnect 3 more times or eating out every night was not something we could really afford. After hearing this he did the measurements and restated that the next day installation is based on having the product in stock.
I had 3 choices and got quoted pricing on, he then "called his boss" and informed me that those tiles were not in stock and they could not do a Monday install, and brought in another tile sample stating this was a better product in stock for a Monday installation and they would not charge me any additional even though this was a better product. "Don't believe that now". I feel a total bait and switch to a product that probably is not better. The contract was written up and he asked for deposit. I handed him my credit card and he state they only do cash or bank check and he would be happy to follow me to my bank. I thought this was weird but after he explained how people would cancel after making orders I guess it seemed to make sense. So he followed me to my bank and I gave him a Bank check in the amount of 1293.00. Today I received a call at 10 minutes to 11:00 am from National Floor Direct that they could not do the install.
I immediately asked for a supervisor after being on hold so long. In fact the phone disconnected 2 and I had to call back. I also called the sales rep and informed him what was going on. Still haven't heard back from him. When I finally spoke with "Tom" no last name I told him I wanted to cancel and get my money back, he informed me that I had a contract. Installations were not guaranteed as I was informed by the salesperson and I wouldn't get my money back and just kept asking me when I wanted to reschedule. I said many times I don't I want to cancel and I want my money back today, just like I had given them a check when they wanted. Again, told no money back. I feel I am being held hostage by this company. Caved and booked an installation for this Wed so still without a stove. This quite frankly is the most deceptive business I have ever been forced to do business with or lose 1200+ dollars. And is just not right.

Had National Floors Direct come out and give us a quote on work we wanted done. They measured up the rooms and then gave us 3 different quotes, one for laminate, one for the better flooring and then for the best. The gentlemen proceeded to tell us that the quote you get is their lowest price. When I said I wanted to get a couple more quotes he asked me why would I want to do that when they are already guaranteeing me the lowest price? I told him that I don't spend this amount of money anywhere and not check around to see if I'm getting a fair price. When I was given the price of around $7,000 they wanted me to put down $2300.00 that night even though I wasn't even planning on scheduling this job for a month.
I told him I am only putting down 500.00 in which he finally took it. They tell you that you have three days to cancel, but the catch is you would literally have to cancel your contract 10 minutes later after you are handed your quote because they want it mailed in to their NY office or telegrammed. They do not accept a phone call or a fax. So you pretty much get locked in whether you want to or not unless you act very fast! It also leaves you no time to get any other quotes so you better have them before you call this company. Just want to let others know so they can be aware of how they work!

There was one issue after another. Met with salesman and couldn't get in touch with anyone for two days after giving a deposit. Scheduled installation date and then a reschedule installation date to be sooner, received text from salesman stating the reschedule day was "good to go". Installers never showed for "good to go" date. Salesman denies rescheduling. Customer service called to confirm appointment day before installation date. Would call the morning of installation between 8 & 9 to give a time for arrival. Time of arrival was between 9-12. No one ever said there was a window of time, they leave you to believe someone will be there first thing.
We had vinyl planks installed. Salesman asked if we wanted moldings installed, which we did but failed to tell us that white molding are complimentary and if you don't want white it will cost extra. Had to go out and buy moldings that MATCH the flooring that was ordered. We were also told the installers are employees of NFD and not sub-contractors. WRONG, sub-contractors are the installers. Fortunately the sub-contractor that installed the flooring was courteous and professional. Paid deposit with a personal check and day of installation the sub-contractor couldn't take a personal check, only bank check, money order or cash. Nobody told us that. Along with having to go buy moldings that matched also needed to go to bank and get a bank check for the balance before installation could start. Ran out of material so installer needs to come back and finish the job.

We purchased a new floor from National Floors Direct, PO Box 1311, L.I.C., NY 11101 800-400-floor. Purchase date: 8/15/17 Purchase Price $2,449.63. Deposit $493.68. Amount financed: $1956. Installation date: 9/16/2017. Promises made at sale with salesman Jeff **: Subfloor is acceptable for vinyl tile. No preparation needed so no additional costs would be charged for installation. Right on the original bill of sale is written that we wanted slim grout lines. Salesman said the installer would be able to do this. The installation would take one day. We scheduled on a Saturday to avoid loss of work. When the installer arrived (Diego), he said the floor needs leveling. He charged us an additional $800. He also needed to come back Monday to finish the installation causing my husband to miss a day of work. (Unpaid). Diego said grout lines are impossible to cut into this floor. We let all of this go and did not stress about it.
On Monday October 18, Diego did not come to install the floor. He sent 2 men who only spoke Portuguese. We could not communicate with them. They left the saddles communicating the rooms cracked and sticking up. Moldings unmatched, unfinished areas… 9/22/17—I called Diego (cell number) he had given to me. He said he would stop by in the next week to look at the kitchen. He never did. 9/25/17—I called Diego again. He said he ordered new quarter round and saddles and it would take 10 days to come in. Call him back in 10 days. 10/6/17—I called He said he no longer works for the company and I should call customer service. 10/7/17—I called customer service and spoke with Tom (supervisor). He said to take pictures and email them to installation@floorsdirect.com. I sent them that day. Tom said someone would call me in 24 to 48 hours for a resolution. No call came.
10/12/17—I called and asked for Tom. Was on hold for 25 minutes. Tom finally came on the line to say he would call me by end of the day. No call came. 10/13/17—Intermittently I called and spoke with Ray and another rude woman who refused to give me her name. I called Tom again. Spoke to Mia who told me Tom is too busy to talk and placed me on hold for another 15 minutes. 10/14/17—I called and spoke with Ray. He told me the materials were ordered and would be in next Tuesday. 10/16/17—(Tuesday)—I called and John promised I would be contacted by Wednesday 10/18 to set up appointment for repairs. No call came. 10/19/17—I called again and asked Ray to speak to Tom’s supervisor. Ray said, “I’m not going to give you that name. You don’t need it.” The material was ordered. "When would you like an appointment for repairs?" I choose Saturday 10/28.
10/28/17—A man named Javier (spelling)? came to my home to take pictures with no equipment to make repairs. While he was in my home, I called and spoke to Ray and Tom in customer service. They both didn’t understand what was happening as they thought the repair was to occur. I was promised by Tom a call back on Monday to straighten this out. 10/30/17—(Monday)—No call from Tom. 10/31/17—I called Tom. He said he sent an email and was awaiting a response and could do nothing now. He said he would call me in an hour. No return call was received. I have spent approximately 20 to 40 minutes on hold for each phone call made. I have followed up each time.
This is terrible customer service. We are very unhappy with the installation of the floor. We have made one payment on this floor and would like to not make any further payments on this floor. In addition, we would like to be compensated for our distress and time spent with this terrible customer service. We hope you can help us in getting some resolution.

Wall to wall carpet installed fast and professional, had 3 quotes and they beat them all with a better carpet. Time was important and they fulfilled my needs for time and price which was most important to my wife. Hats off to National. We'll be calling again when it's time to do basement.

Bedroom carpet - The installers arrived thirty minutes before their scheduled arrival time. Along with their equipment was a shop vac and I realized it would be a very clean job. They were fast, they were efficient, and they were courteous. They finished within two hours. Very pleased with the end result.

We had a great experience with National Floors Direct from start to finish. Brian, the sales rep came to our house at 6pm on a Friday, because that was the best time for us. He showed us samples, measured the rooms and worked hard to get us the best carpet and price possible within our budget. He even took a call over the weekend to answer a few of my questions. We tried and failed to have three other companies beat the quote National Floors Direct gave, we didn't save the extra 15%, but we saved hundreds overall. The installers were on time, courteous and hard workers. Our new house looks great with the 30 year old rose carpets gone and brand new tan installed. I'll have no problem letting our new baby crawl and learn to walk on our new, clean, safe and stain resistant carpets! Thank you, Brian and National Floors Direct, we couldn't be happier!

The installers were courteous and professional. I was amazed at how quickly they removed the old carpet and installed the new one. It looks very professional and clean and neat. No loose ends or bowing or anything. After they did the install they helped to return some of the items taken out of the rooms and then vacuumed and cleaned the new carpets before they left. All in all my wife and I are very pleased with our new carpet installation. National Floors Direct has made me a believer. Great flooring at a fair price installed quickly and professionally. My experience at National Floors Direct has been wonderful. Service was fast, people were courteous and my carpets look and feel great. National Floors Direct was the only company that could install my carpets in short period of time. Other companies required a week waiting period before someone would come and measure the rooms and another few weeks to a month before installation. I was happy to be able to move in without the stress of having to wait for my new carpets. My office and guest bedroom now look and feel inviting and comfortable. I would highly recommend doing business with National Floors Direct. I will contact them again for my master bedroom and stairs once we're done with home improvement projects.

National Floors Direct was a true pleasure to work with. We scheduled an estimate and they came out within the week. Our salesman was very personable and was a lot of help choosing the right flooring for our home. He went over the benefits to each flooring type and really spent the time to get to know us. Once we picked our floor and got the paperwork squared away we picked a date for installation. Our salesman went through the whole process with us so we would know what to expect. The installation crew was on time and very friendly. They had the entire floor done in just one day. They did a fantastic job. We requested different baseboard for different areas of the house and they listened and got everything just right. When I first saw the ad for 3 rooms for $888.00 I was somewhat skeptical. It seemed too good to be true. But when John the salesman came out to meet me at my house he was very professional and reassuring. He did an awesome presentation of the choices I had and did not attempt to pressure me in any way. After finalizing the deal and setting the date I was looking forward to having my new carpets installed. When the installers arrived they were very courteous and professional as well. They did an outstanding job and were exceptional at cleaning up after themselves! After all is said and done I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to have new carpets installed. And with a 10 year warranty how can you go wrong?

The guys showed up before they were supposed to arrive and was very nice to work with. Before they started they had me check the carpet in the van to make sure it was the correct color. They removed the old carpet and pad and then installed the new pad and carpet and it looks marvelous. It really was a great experience.

Company stated they do not come to the house, only a picture. I contacted them three different times. The salesperson stated she was very sorry and some of her other clients were unhappy. The company has only been in New Jersey for a few months and gives very poor Service. The installer came by himself and couldn't even take a break. We gave him lunch. When he left the carpet was fine, but the next day seams started popping up. I would not recommend them. They refuse to fix all the seams or even come out to see the seams in person.

Do not use National Floors Direct. I had carpet installed at my father's house while he was in rehab. It was a nightmare! First of all, they tell you that they will only accept a bank check - no credit cards. I got a check from my credit union and had it made out to National Floors. The day of installation, they would not take the check. They said my credit union was not a bank. I had to go out and get them a $1,710 cash (the total cost for carpeting one large room) before they would start working. Secondly, after a couple weeks there was a large tear in a seam. When I called and asked to have it repaired, I got nothing but headaches. They tried to blame the tear on my father's wheelchair. Originally, I told the salesman that when my father gets home from rehab he will be in a wheelchair. I requested the best rug for wheelchairs.
They changed their email address a couple times. They use: installation@nationalfloorsdirect, service@nationalfloorsdirect, WeListen@NationalFloorsDirect.com, NationalFloorsDirect.com, nationalfloorsdirect.com. Whichever address you use, they will tell you that it is the wrong one - that is why they did not respond. I sent them photos of the torn rug and I received a phone confirmation that the email was received and everything would be taken care of.
I called back a week later and was told there was no record of my repair request. This happened several times. Each time I called they said they had no record of me. After about ten phone calls and ten emails, I was finally able to get a repair scheduled (over about six weeks’ time of being told- in another week). They did not show up. I called again and made a new appointment and they did arrive this time. The seam/ tear is still very visible. The workers who come to the home, work very hard and are polite. The customer service is the worst I have ever encountered.

As a business owner myself, I hate writing negative reviews since I understand the gravitational impact of a one-star review. But in this case, I feel I have no choice. National Floors Direct hands down has the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my lifetime from any company on this planet. They canceled 2 installations a few minutes before the scheduled install time. They were a complete no-show for the 3rd scheduled install between 9 am and 12 pm. After a dozen ignored phone calls, a couple of rude agents, and a few hung calls later, they finally updated me at 4 pm that their van got towed. They said they were doing me a "favor" by not making me pay for their van tow charges. I still can't believe they would blame the customer for their car troubles. There was no sincere apology.
Every conversation was somehow trying to steer the blame towards me for expecting them to actually honor their installation appointment, as if I was asking for too much. All I wanted them to do was to actually show up and install the carpet. They are refusing to refund me my $500 deposit, and are forcing me to schedule a 4th installation date. Sorry but 3 strikes and you're out. I have no faith that the 4th installation date will actually be honored. After reading additional reviews about their other locations on Yelp, this is actually a common practice by the company.
National Floors Direct regularly tends not show up to jobs or tends to leave jobs incomplete. I wish I had read more reviews about them on Yelp before I paid them. In addition, they usually don't do the flooring and installation themselves. They usually subcontract out the entire job to a third party, and simply act as a middle-man for sales and payment. Stay as far away from this company as you can if you want to avoid unnecessary stress with your flooring. Life is way too short to deal with such unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. Choose a real company that actually does the work themselves, actually shows up to appointments, and actually guarantees their work. National Floors Direct is a joke.

We are a repeat customer. We called National Floors Direct for a sales representative to come out to our home and show us samples of products offered. The schedule went smoothly. We could schedule in the morning, afternoon, or evening whatever day or time was convenient for us. Sales representative Brian ** came out within the time frame agreed upon. Brian was patient, professional, and present to our needs. His patience was exemplary in that my wife had second thought on color for the rug and called Brian back to our home. Brian did not hesitate to return. The installers had a two man team, Angel an installer did a fine job and answered any questions we had about rug care. Try National Floors Direct for yourselves.

I was very pleased with my experience with National Floors. The salesperson was prompt and personable and worked with me to get the product I wanted at a decent price. Scheduling was easy. Due to the hurricanes in Florida, my carpet shipment was delayed but National accommodated me as soon as it was available. The installers were prompt, professional and nice. The carpet looks great. I was nervous about paying them with a bank check before the job could start, but my worry was for nothing. I was very pleased with my experience.

I couldn't be more pleased with my carpets installed by National Floors Direct. The initial salesman spent a great deal of time with us showing us the various options that would suit our needs. I was given an installation date that worked around my schedule and the installers arrived right on time. They were professional, courteous and very neat. My family had an extremely positive experience with National Floors Direct. The service we received from National Floors Direct was great! With the free in home estimate we were thankfully guided into making a completely different flooring choice. So my experience with National Floors Direct was definitely a positive one. We had both of our stairs and hallway rugged. From the beginning with the free estimate our salesman was spot on. He helped get us the best price possible. We scheduled the install for like the next week which I was happy about because I wanted it done asap. The customer service dept was courteous when they called to discuss the financials and confirm the install. Then on the install day the guys were behind great. They tore up the old stuff and removed it. That was wonderful! They made my house look fresh! And they even cleaned up when they finished. I am very pleased with my new kitchen floor, purchased and installed from National Floors Direct. After getting estimates from three other companies, it was a huge relief to meet with the sales representative from NFD. He was low key, very knowledgeable and helpful. This company is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I had my carpet installed 10 months ago and it has ripples in it. After contacting 5 companies to fix it, they all told me that it is due to not stretching the carpet tightly enough during the installation. They are not taking responsibility for it. Their customer service is rude and unknowledgeable. Their sales people are very pushy. NEVER HIRING THEM AGAIN!!!

This company is full of liars from the sales person to the warehouse people. They cancelled 3 times, lied about arrival time which was to be 9-12. I was promised to be the first stop. I had to take 3 days off of work for them to arrive on the 4th attempt at 5:00 pm!!! I tried to cancel the order only to be hung up on. Gave one star because I had to. Installation people were very nice and polite, another reason for a star, not their fault the company sucks! Terrible company and to boot, the wrong color carpet installed. Sales rep was very smooth. National Direct’s policy is for payment in full prior to starting job. With great hesitation, I agreed based upon sales rep claim of knowing National Direct’s owner personally and having owner’s direct phone number in his phone (he actually showed me his phone contacts). Sales rep committed to personally take care of any issues I may encounter based upon my prior experiences with incapable and rip off contractors. He assured me, there would not be any issues.
Contractor arrived early A.M with a completion of 8:45 p.m. Upon inspection of new hardwood floors, a transition from room to closet was not installed (contractor claimed he did not have one and it would cost me $52), several gauges and scratches were new to my existing hardwood floor where contractor laid his tools, and numerous holes were discovered in my walls with hammer markings. When addressed with contractor, he claimed it was a long day and he failed to reveal the damage to me. He claims, he is waiting to hear back from National Floors for direction.
Two phone calls to National Floors Direct customer service with no resolution. CS claims they are not liable for contractor damage. Five phone calls to sales rep with no response. Four text messages to sales rep with photos… I received one reply stating, he forwarded photos to customer service. A week later… job is still not completed and no response from National Floors Direct! No wonder why their policy is for $$$ upfront… They take the money and run.

I have never dealt with such an incompetent company. We had originally planned dealings with someone else, except National talked us into switching. "Better deals, better service". They were supposed to start 07/07/17. Received a call they couldn't make it. I expressed my concerns because we were promised. The lady was extremely rude. They came FOUR days after they said they would the SECOND time.
So they finally get started and 2 days later I get a call that the guy that was installing our floors was going to the hospital because his wife was in labor. Fine. So they come back 3 days later and I congratulated him. He had no idea what I was talking about and said no one was having a baby. I called the manager who was no help at all. Said he would take $100 off our next floor installation. NOT EVER HAPPENING! Every single person I spoke with was super rude. So what was supposed to take 2 days turned into just about a month! Worst experience ever. They are liars and they are rude!!

Absolutely the worst company I ever dealt with. We selected a laminate flooring and the day of installation the flooring was half the thickness of the sample. The installers were not educated on how to install the product... Now six months later the flooring has buckled and we are unable to even walk on it... Called customer service and was told to call the flooring manufacturer. What a total blow off... The flooring was installed WRONG!!! I WOULD NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE! RUN AWAY!!! IT'S NOT WORTH THE FAKE SAVINGS THEY PROMOTE!!!!

We installed a Laminate floor in our basement family room last August. Recently the floor has begun to buckle near the stairs. We called National for assistance in having this repaired. We were told to call the manufacturer, I said the issue was not with the product, it was an installation issue. We were told that "installation issues usually present within four months" and that it was no longer under warranty. I said we would pay for the repair, we just needed them to assist since they had hired the original installation crew. They said they couldn't help us, that we should contact an independent floor repair service in our area. I find this to be poor customer service that they were unwilling to help us in having a floor we purchased from them, fixed. I would not use this company again.

Thickness of the product did not look like the sample we were shown so wanted to call to confirm. Salesperson told us one thing about how this would abut my sliding door and the installer said something else. Quote included tearing up old floor but installer arrived without appropriate equip. After trying to remove floor with a shovel, gave up and suggested installing over the old. Since some tiles had come up, would now need leveler. We asked him to wait until the office opened so if we call and get this straightened out would be able to move forward today but he left without telling us. The product issue was cleared up but we now had to reschedule for Monday. Will see how that goes. Not happy taking 2 days off instead 1!
UPDATED ON 08/21/2017: I was expected to pay the balance before they started even though I had a bad experience on Friday. They started to pull up old floor but told me they would have to skim coat to even this out and it takes 24 hours to dry so wanted to come tomorrow. I can't take another day off this week so would have to make it for Sat. Since I had the plumber pull out the toilet to make it easier, now I'll be without it for 5 days!!! Salesman and scheduling dept did not tell me that I could not walk on it for 24 hours but the installer said it would be dry enough to walk on after about 5 hours. How do I get to my other rooms since the hallways is involve. Salesman never returned my or my son's calls (at least 4 calls made). He had me make a deposit of almost a third and now they say if I cancel I will lose this. Again, the installer left and the Service Dept told me on the phone they did not know they left.
Installer told me he was told to leave on Friday and Service Dept says they were not. They left while both me and my son were trying to reach customer service. When I asked if the same installers would be coming, I was told that different ones would be but the same ones showed up. I would never recommend them and will never use them again. Different depts tell you different things. I would not recommend giving them more than $100 deposit. I had a quote from Empire that was much cheaper but they did not have the pattern I wanted in the Armstong flooring. They also accept credit cards which National does not and I understand why because there is more help from credit card companies when things like this happen. Now they're supposed to come on Sat and finish another day (Sun? Unlikely - so another day wasted for me).

Being a repeat customer to National Floors Direct, I asked Michael ** their sales person to assist me with another carpet install. We own 4 homes in Cape Cod that we rent out over the summer. Michael received confirmation from his boss that they could accomplish a Friday install. When I showed up on Thursday to sign the contract and hand Michael $300 deposit, he stated that the install team was busy on Friday but he received confirmation from his boss that they could do a 9am install on Saturday instead. On that promise I handed Michael $300 deposit. Friday evening I received a confirmation that the install team would show up between 9-11am on Saturday morning. Saturday morning I called the install team and they told me they would be there from 12pm-4pm but closer to 12pm.
I told them that was not our agreement and he told me he could not cancel the order. The install team showed up at 4pm after my tenants had already moved in and they were refused entry. Not only does National Floors Direct have the BALLS to tell me I won't get my $300 refunded, but they're now saying I OWE THEM the full amount of the order. In all my life I've never experienced such HORRENDOUS customer dis-service in my life. You should NEVER TOUCH National Floors Direct.

Salesman arrived very pushy, selected flooring. Quoting price, it was way over other estimates. Lowered to where I was willing to spend. Salesman stated installers are not contracted installers; LIE. Installers arrived, Two brothers and one of their wives. I ask, "You contracted?" They said yes (verbal proof of lie). Installation went fine with few issues, they had to come back and fix after sending numerous pics. Other issue they use 1/2" molding, in bedroom it's fine but in the hall and stairwell it looks pathetic. Called and sent more pics, they said, "This is what you signed in the contract." Like I know about molding. Sales representative should of been more informative, so now after few arguments they're coming back to install 1/4 molding, that I had to purchase. Nice after spending 5k+... Go local neighborhood installers/company. These guys are scam artist, that use 3rd rate installers who I don't think they were legal to work.

I spend three hours with a very nice salesman four weeks ago, Who measured and remeasured my flooring space. He doubled checked all the measurements and checked three times with the headquarters before we agreed on my order. I was given an installation date of July 31, today. I called this morning to check on the delivery time, and to my surprise, my order was canceled and I was never informed. Apparently, the price I was quoted was too low and they never bothered to tell the customer, me. Now I'm waiting for another estimate or a phone. What kind of bait and switch company are you anyway? Really! Thank you for promptly cashing my deposit.

We were very pleased with our experience with National Floors Direct. The sales representative was knowledgeable and provided us with samples of the type of carpeting we wanted. We had previously gotten two quotes from local vendors, and National Floors Direct beat their prices as advertised, for the same carpeting. There was no question that we would go with NFD.
Since we were having four rooms, a hallway, and stairs carpeted, and the old carpeting had to be removed, we blocked two days for the installation. As promised, we received a phone call the night before giving us an arrival window of 9-12. The crew of three installers arrived at 9 a.m. and was completely finished by 4 p.m., having removed all the old padding and carpets, installing new padding and carpets in four rooms, a hallway and stairs, and returning our major furniture pieces to their locations. The crew had worked non-stop all day to complete the project, and there was no need for them to come a second day.
In summary, we were extremely pleased with sales, price, installation, and the finished product, and we are thoroughly enjoying our newly carpeted areas. The only small adjustment we made was to lift one threshold into the tiled bathroom and reposition it by 1/4 inch so the door would close without sticking. We highly recommend National Floors Direct.

I am SOOO incredibly unhappy with my experience with National Floors Direct, I can't even put it into words. Loved your salesman, until he was fired apparently. We are remodeling our home - removing old carpet, painting, and installing new carpet in one bedroom and hard flooring in the hallway, landing, and master bedroom. Had major issues scheduling the installation, had to have my bank call them in order to rectify the problem. Next, terribly shoddy installation! I realize installation is done by a third-party licensed contractor but the work directly reflects on NFD.
As you can clearly see by the photos, my installation was botched, to use a nice word. They nailed mismatched and unfinished quarter-round moulding onto my original, beautiful trim-board around the perimeter of the hard-flooring areas. Big gaps between the trim and flooring where I can actually touch the subfloor! I would GLADLY have paid more and had it done correctly and match my first floor flooring. Never would I recommend National Floors Direct - spend a few more dollars and get an experienced contractor, not a few hack jobs who can't speak English, who are probably receiving 1/8 of what we paid for the services. BUYER BEWARE!

I recently had new floor installed in my living room, hallway and master bedroom. I was promised a call the day prior to the install to confirm the install time; that did not occur. When I called that night to follow up, I was told I would need to call back the following day. When I did, I had to leave a message, and then was called back to abruptly be told the standard window of install was between 9-12.
The installers were nice, hard working and well mannered. Unfortunately it was a pretty large job for 2 people, and they worked well past 8pm that night without a break. As they were doing the final touches, the trim work that they did was less than quality, including crooked cuts and bad fits. They did not complete the job, and there was saw dust all over my front step because that is where they did all the cutting and didn't put down a tarp. We had to do the majority of the clean up. In addition, they failed to remove all the carpet as they were contracted to. I did follow up with the company and was told the work was within their standards. When I asked to speak to someone else besides the customer service rep, I was advised that I could not. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this company, and will not be using them again... which is too bad because I have 4 more bedrooms which require new floors. Please think twice before using them.

I contacted NFD regarding new carpet for our bedroom. Carol ** came out for an estimate and bragged about how much better quality and service NFD gives over Empire Today so we decided to proceed with them for the carpet install. While at my house, the installers brought me upstairs for a "problem". While they were moving the tack strips, they accidentally punctured a hole in the pipeline of my baseboard heat and water was seeping out...onto my new carpet no less! I got towels and they shoved them underneath the heater to absorb the leaking water. (A total of a few gallons drained into the bedroom so I had to keep replacing the towels for two days so that I wouldn't have a mold problem next.)
After the install was complete, I asked them who to speak with regarding this issue now that I need to contact a plumber to fix this mistake. They said, just call the main number and explain it and they will let their install department know as well. That very evening (Wed, May 31st 2017) I called and left a message about this issue with a person who said someone will call me back. No one did. I waited until Friday morning, called the company back, & spoke to a woman who was not pleasant. She immediately says "We aren't responsible for that. It's not our fault." I said, "You've got to be kidding me. Had I not gone with your company, I would not need to repair my pipe." After getting nowhere with her, she did say she would have a manager call me but that they don't get in until 9 am. (It was 8:30 am). I wait all day again and no one calls me.
I call the company at 4 pm and ask to speak with a manager. Tom ** answers and says he is a manager. I explain the situation yet again and he replies, "Oh I see you spoke with someone this morning and they told you we can't help you." This is unbelievable... I have never experienced such lack of ownership on a mistake that could have and should have been taken care of right away. After more discussion, Tom suggests that I take some pictures and send an email to the installation department to see if they'll "consider doing something about it since it was an install issue."
So yet again, I explain the entire situation over the weekend by email and send them pictures as they requested and even copy in my sales person and no one has responded! This company should not be in business if this is how they treat their customers! I calmly explained the situation 4 times and am appalled that I've gotten no response from them. How can you not be accountable for making this mistake? I understand that my trim needs to be repainted after a carpet install, but I think some type of credit is due for the water leak that was caused and no one will even call me back, apologize, or try to make this right and it has been one week now.

Thur 3/9 single, older gentleman carpet installer arrives at 7:55 and leaves at 11am (he was 1 of the 4 Original installers from 3/8). I called "Natalie" as he was driving away shortly after 11am 3/9. Per her request, I sent emails & pictures at 12:17. Then waited all day for a call - for resolution. At least a response, an email.. I got nothing!!! I finally called Natalie back at 3pm on Thur 3/9 for an update. I noted I need the second job of vinyl planks installed Saturday 3/11 (was contracted to be done a one day install on 3/9!!) but need rugs resolved today 3/9 or Friday 3/10 so the vinyl installer can complete his contracted work. I am told a crew will come Fri 3/10 & inspect it and do what they can to correct or determine if it needs to be pulled up & reinstalled. Also she assured me they will clean the mess left throughout the entire area. No one ever vacuumed up or cleaned up after install on either day 3/8 or 3/9.
She would confirm if vinyl could be installed sat 3/11. (I already paid 600.00 deposit for the 3/9 one-day vinyl install) and let me know. I spoke with the vinyl hard surface installer and he confirmed he will be there 8am Saturday. He already has all my materials that he picked up the morning of 3/9 when he was supposed to install. I have a money order bank check for 1030. To pay the vinyl installer. NFD require payments in full upfront before they walk in the door. I had paid a 550 deposit for the carpets and 1289 money order was given to the carpet crew on 3/8 outside before they would come in and start the job (should have been a red flag then!).
I told Natalie to cancel the 3/29-3/30 hardwood installation and refund my 1000.00 deposit on that 3rd project until we get past these first 2 installs. She told me, "I can't cancel". I will lose my 1000 Deposit per contract. Period!!! I told her they have already broken contracts one and two! Noting they have full pay for the carpet and a 600.00 deposit for the vinyl install that could not be done as contracted on 3/9 because their carpet installation was still not complete! Additionally they have 1000$ for the HW 3/29-3/30 install. In total they have over 3400 of my money! 2150 Capital One deposits for 3 installation jobs and money order 1289 given on 3/8 for balance of carpet install. She tells me I can postpone but cannot cancel - will lose all deposits! Non-refundable!
They broke their first 2 contracts with me! (I'm begging for a resolution!!!). I lost a total of 4 days work 3/08-3/1. They damaged my son's leather sofa that was in perfect condition prior to this!! They completely botched my rug installation. They never cleaned up either day leaving debris, trash, nails and more. My son was displaced almost 2 weeks (3/6 to 3/19) waiting for a response from NFD (which did not come until I called them again! On 3/16.). Then rushing to buy & install the vinyl plank floors with my husband so they could move it and empty out my main level of my house! The plan was move everything up to my house 3/6. Rug and floors installed 3/8 & 3/9. Move everything back 3/10 before the girls arrived!! I borrowed 2 air mattresses, bought one air mattress and ordered platters of food! Money I did not have or plan to spend! A total of 12 college kids from RI came home 3/10 before their 6am spring break flight out 3/11.
16 for dinner (with my family of 4). 9 girls stayed at my house. 3 stayed another home- we had no more room! We had little access to my kitchen! No access to my dining room & little to no access to the basement. Full of trash, debris and nails. No furniture - no bedroom setup - no comfortable place for most of them to sleep! I took 3/17 off. My husband took 2 days off work!!! And we spent the weekend learning how to install luxe vinyl planks then buying them and installing them (with help from a friend who has installed these before!) again, not something we were planning or prepared to do! But my son & fish. They told me because I canceled my 2150 deposit on my CC I lost all rights to any resolution. Told me not to call again! Case closed!
I then listened to how everything was my fault. Over and over she read from the contract, doing all she could not to address the serious issues at hand. Told me damage to my son's sofa was not covered, my fault for allowing them to put radiator metal covers on the couch? They had several open areas over 700 sq. feet they could have laid them down? They chose a leather couch? My fault?? I was trying my very best to just ignore the poor CS & and get this resolved before I call my credit card company or lawyer - but getting harder by the minute! After I called Natalie at 3 pm on 3/9 I sent a follow up email to Natalie to document this conversation.

I had National Floors Direct come give me an estimate on a family recommendation. I met with Brian, the salesman, who was very good. He listened to what I wanted and made several suggestions which resulted me to hire them to re do my floors. They installed carpeting in 2 bedrooms and laminate in 2 other rooms. They were on time as promised and very professional. While at my home they reviewed all the work that needed to be done and got straight to work. They were cleaned and organized and moved all the furniture then put it back. Once job was completed at the time promised I had 4 rooms of beautiful new flooring. I would recommend them to family and friends!

I was really appreciative of the whole experience from National Floors Direct. Jim the salesman's visit was thorough to meet our wants and needs and helped us choose the heavy carpet for the two rooms. It was great to hear from customer service two days before installation to verify our address and the carpet ordered. On Saturday of the installation, Tom called and told us the time frame the installers would arrive (which they did). The team of installers were very professional and courteous to our needs and also helped me move a couple of heavy pieces of furniture I was not able to perform by myself. I was reviewing a lot of floor companies, I came across several. I, like you are now, seeing what people felt about the service they provide. Well I was told there were people all over the world so you can't really count all. Okay so I did, I hired them, Well don't do it, it is kind of like lighting a cigarette thinking getting cancer is not going to happen to me. The floors are not in correctly. I called, they told me I need to send pictures. I told them I don't have a camera. After I sent a letter threatening to call Turn To Ten they sent their own worker who took pictures on the 9th of March. Still no answer even though I called! They keep saying they are trying to get their field installer. Well how come it doesn't take that long when you schedule a sales call!?! Well like I said, don't trust them. I did! I also see their ad. 3 floors for 888.00, I ended up paying 5,000,00 for four rooms right before I saw that commercial.
Updated on 09/29/2017: My floors have also now warped in several other places. When I told them about the damage to my floors they told me that they could not fix them unless I take the complaint off of here (as I see many others on here have been) and also have to pay $169.00 a foot to fix. They had also damaged my door when they took out the rugs. The bottom of it in several places peeled up and was removed.
When I called the lady said, "We don't fix doors. Read number 12 on the contract." Well after I hung up and did. That is only for the door not leveling afterwards. At the time of sales, I was told by the salesperson, Brian **, that I was not going to be charged any interest. Not to worry about it, they would pay for it. Of course, stupid as I am, I believed them!! Well just looking at my monthly statement from the bank, I am being charged. I should have had it in writing! But God Almighty knows what they did!! So in addition to the rip-off price of 5,000.00 for 4 rooms of flooring, I am going to be charged 9.99% APR interest!! Ask the Lord ahead of time before you are screwed like I was!!!

Our new carpet was scheduled for installation on Wednesday 3/29 between 12-4pm. The installers arrived at 2:00 and proceeded to work right away. The installers were professional throughout the entire process. They were careful not to damage any furniture etc.. during the move or carpet removal/installation. They consulted my husband or myself as needed during the process to ensure our complete satisfaction. Upon completion, they vacuumed and cleaned the area and replaced all the furniture to where it belonged. The new carpet looks awesome and we are very pleased with the entire process. We would highly recommend National Floors Direct to our family and friends!

Was supposed to have my rugs installed yesterday. First they said they would be here at 9am. Then they call and say they will be here around 2-3:30. Get a phone call around 4. Their van broke down. They arrived at 6pm. They didn't speak English. Then after two hours they tell us they don't have enough material. Got in the van and just left. Had to call today since we have new furniture coming in. Come to find out they have to order the material. Rugs won't be done for a couple days. This is unbelievable.

We definitely like our new carpet. It seems to have been installed very well and appears to be the quality that was promised. The installers showed up within the specified timeframe. The job was completed in a relatively quick amount of time. They also did a pretty good job cleaning up after. I would definitely consider using NFD again in the future and will spread the word to friends and family.

We had a pleasant experience. The manager that came out to our home was prompt and very courteous and able to answer all of our questions. We asked for next day installation on a Saturday and our needs were met. Our installer arrived on time the next day and was very polite and cleaned up after himself! I called National Floors Direct for a quote on laminate flooring for 3 rooms and hallway. Met with salesman who measured the areas. After measuring he called his warehouse and gave me a special price which I thought was very good. I signed a contract and installation was scheduled for 2 weeks. I agreed to rip up carpet and furniture to save time and money. Gave salesman a deposit.
A week later salesman calls me and says he made a mistake and didn't measure bedroom (I walked with him during measurements) so that was a stupid thing to say. He said he needed to remeasure and raise the price. I said no and have a contract. He waited a week to tell me this which is past the 3 day cancellation policy. We ended conversation on a bad note and a couple days later customer service called to say they couldn't honor contract and would refund my deposit in 30 days. I am left with rooms of ripped up carpeting, no flooring install and less money that I need for a new vendor. This company is a scammer and I would never ever do business with them. Beware of this company.

The installers were prompt (early actually) and went right to work. They removed 5 doors and replaced them without a scratch. They were also very friendly and provided information on how to best clean the rug. They cleaned up everything and vacuumed the rug before they left. Very friendly and personable. Not a seam could be seen. My husband who is very meticulous was very pleased with their carpet installation work. Carpet looks great!

A salesman arrived at my house promising me the world. I had a quote and a carpet from Home Depot for a 24 oz carpet. His quote was twice as much but it was for a 42oz carpet and he could get it installed in two days. No problem he says... We set everything up with him understanding that I had a hard deadline. Miraculously, the day before the carpet was to be installed, I get a call from NFD telling me that a sprinkler system destroyed the carpet I chose and I would have to choose a different one. I called the salesman who told me that the carpet was stuck on a truck somewhere and wasn't in stock (not sure who to believe). He then texted me a sample of a rug that he could replace it with for the same price. It appeared to be of much lower quality. I asked him if it was the same weight as the one I purchased. He never responded. To this day he hasn't responded or picked up the phone when I have called.
I began to get texts from the factory (that were initiated by the woman who told me that the other carpet was ruined by sprinklers). I asked these people if the carpets were 42 oz. They said they were 33oz and that was what was on the slip they received. The salesman (Brian ** of Avon, MA) sold me 42 oz carpet and apparently put in an order for 33 oz carpet. I was told by the person who was texting me that this carpet was of better quality than what the salesman sold me. She needed a response immediately or she wouldn't be able to get the order in. I was desperate due to my deadline so I approved the order. I needed the carpets installed by a certain date.
When they arrived and I felt the carpet, I was disgusted. It felt like a piece or cardboard. Not even close to what I had felt when the salesman was here. I tried calling him again, to no avail. I got another confirmation call from the NFD girl, so I took that opportunity to tell her this whole story. She claimed she understood, apologized profusely, and told me that her manager would call me as soon as she arrived in the office that day. That was 5 days ago. I have not heard a peep from the Manager, I have not heard a peep from the salesman. In addition to all this, the salesman's measurements for my runner were incorrect so the two levels are uneven. Also, they initially bound the runner without cutting it to size first so that the installers (who were the only refreshing part of the process) had to jump through hoops, get the runners back to the factory, and come back first thing the following morning to finish the install.
Long story short, the installers were excellent, the factory was barely adequate, the NFD home office was disappointing and their salesman, Brian **, was absolutely disgusting and in my opinion, criminal. To recap, I was sold a 42 oz carpet and received something that feels no heavier than 24oz. I was told by one person that the carpet I bought was ruined by sprinklers and told by another then it was stuck in a truck somewhere. When I pressed the salesman for an answer on replacement rug quality, he went silent (he was well aware of the fact that I needed my carpets installed by a specific date and was between a rock and a hard place). The carpet that arrived felt to be the same weight as the Home Depot carpet sample that I had and I paid for a carpet almost twice the weight. The salesman measured my runners incorrectly so now I have uneven carpet on one level vs the next.
I was told I would receive a call from a manager to address my concerns and that call never came (you can't get to a specific person at NFD. You get a call center). In addition to the measurements being wrong, the factory didn't even cut the runners to the salesman's measurements and sent them outbound and bigger than my steps. It took a triage effort by the installers to get them in the next morning before my deadline. Salesman Brian ** remains M.I.A. 5 days later. I am sure that I will never hear from him again. Can't help but feel I was a victim of some kind of bait and switch campaign. I hope I am wrong.

National Floors Direct was the best choice that we made to transform or three bedrooms that had been carpeted for 26 years. The most unhealthy living because my son has asthma. NEVER use them!!! They subcontract work out. They put gouges in my brand new trim. I've called and sent pictures for 2 weeks. It's a call center so there is no manager to talk to. It's a joke. Now they tell me if I read the contract it states that they don't cover that. I should have known when they only take cash or bank check. When I questioned why I would have to pay cash in case something went wrong. They said "just note it on your receipt and we will fix it". Which is what I did. I noted it on my receipt. Now I have no recourse. Worst company I ever dealt with. My salesman John was awesome. If not for him I never would have went with the company. Hopefully he has the sense to leave that awful company!!!

We had laminate flooring installed on January 31, 2017 in our very large bedroom. The installers were very courteous and moved right along. After completion we looked around the room and didn't notice any problems, but once we started putting our items back in our room we noticed buckling here and there throughout the floor and damage to our bed that they had moved.
We immediately called NFD main number and also our sales representative, Shannon. Our sales representative never called us back and we have called every day since the installation. The female that answered the main number was very dry and stated that it states on the contract that they aren't responsible for damage to our furniture. Unfortunately it was an area that our sales rep didn't cover with us and it was on the back side of a form that we signed off on (font size is at least 2 sizes smaller). We then asked when they could come out and fix the problem. She set something up for that Thursday.
The installers returned on time on Thursday. They stated that the product was junk and not top of the line like they said it was. They also said that they had problems with the tongue and grove clicking together properly. We immediately got on the phone with the main office to tell her what they had said. She said she needed to speak with the installers first before doing anything.
Fortunately the installers were still at our house and got on the phone right away. We stayed on the phone as well to hear what was being said. The installers just about stated what was wrong before the girl on the phone could say "Oh Ok manufacturers defect!" She called us later that day and said that they would order new flooring and it should be in within a week.
Before leaving the installers gave us one of the planks and the paperwork with the name on it so we could do some research. Since then we have reached out to two contractors and went to Home Depot. All three said that the floor is NOT top quality and that we paid too much. They also said that because of the cheap quality there will be many problems down the road. The type of floor that was installed will also have problems if they didn't level the floor before installing and guess what they didn't level the floor. All three individuals said that they wouldn't have a problem coming forth to speak with NFD on our behalf.
We are not comfortable with them coming back to redo the whole floor. We will have to miss more time from work. If the installers knew that it was poor quality and/or defective they shouldn't have installed it. If we would have known that if they wouldn't be responsible for damage to our furniture, we wouldn't have let them move it. Each one was blaming the other - installers saying it was defective and cheap product and NFD saying the installers shouldn't have installed it if they knew it was defective.
No one has called to apologize or asked what they could do for us. Most of all we are quite disappointed with our sales rep. She spoke so highly about the company. She said that this was top quality materials that you couldn't get at our local hardware store. She said the two owners stood by their products and provided topnotch customer service. No one seems to care!!

These guys do not leave any sample. Beware! The installers were great, however, the communication and implementation process is horrible. They asked for the check before the carpet was installed. They received it. They removed my carpet and cleaned the floor quite nicely. Good. Then the carpet was unrolled. We saw it and I said to the installers that I thought the carpet color was off color and asked for a sample. They had none. My furniture was moved into the kitchen, so I reluctantly had the carpet installed. I called the company several times to tell them what happened. After repeatedly being treated badly and ignored, they told me if I too bad and if I wanted them to come out to see it, it would cost $150.00. I spent over $4000 with this company and will not use them again.

Do not use this company. They are a bunch of LIARS and crooks. I requested a quote to have new hardwood floors installed in 3 bedrooms that had old carpet and squeaky floors from old hardwood. When the salespeople, Joel and Jim came to provide the quote they said that when they install the new floors, they will secure the old floors to prevent the squeaks. When the contractors actually came, none of this was communicated to them. After handing off the cashier’s check and giving National Floors Direct $10k worth of business, they had the nerve to tell me that this was not covered and asked me to pay $150 cash out of pocket to the contractors. Don't give them your business. They are rude and just want to nickel and dime you. BEWARE.

We had Mohawk Smart Strand carpet mistakenly installed by National Floor Direct on 11/30/16 and reported an issue with lines in the carpet in the middle of my living room floor. It has not even been 2 months with a carpet that comes with a 20 yr warranty and we sent in pictures that were immediately declined by National Floors Direct and the manufacturer without even coming out to my house to see the issue in person. The incredibly rude customer service rep Cynthia told me to buy a new vacuum cleaner with a better ball and brush and the problem would fix itself. I asked her to have a manager call and she said too bad for me as the claim was denied and see if the manufacturer could help me with this issue.
I am hoping a company that puts a warranty like that on a product would like to help resolve this problem. National Floor Direct would not even give me a phone # or way to try to get this issue some attention and told me to sue them if I was that upset. No matter what number you call for National Floors Direct it always routes you back to Cynthia who is useless, rude and incredibly unprofessional. Thank you.

I bought some carpeting and hardwood from National Floors Direct and the installers came on time. Carpeting was installed pretty quickly. Of course 13 months later after the carpeting was installed and the warranty expired my carpeting started bulging. As for my hardwood flooring I have two gaps, one on the entry way and the other by closet door. I tried three times to get to them by email with no response. Will never use them again.
National Floors Direct installed carpet fort Ms. Morales in 2013. It is now 2017. At no point between the completion of the installation, which she rated as excellent, and this posting did Ms. Morales contact National Floors Direct to discuss the performance of her carpet installation.

The reason I am complaining is I had new carpets installed and at a spiral staircase which was supposed to be completely recarpeted. They chose to leave the old carpet in place. They had a few reason why. First the railing was too tight, then they ran out of carpet which was a lie, I just saw them carry some out. Then there are scratches and scruffs they left on the brand new maple hardwood floor when they installed it and now they will not return my call. I never recommend this company ever.

First, I must say that I am extremely satisfied with the sales representative, the price, and the product. The installation teams were great and made no mistakes. I got 95 yards of carpet and a 10 X 12 area of vinyl plank flooring. That said, the scheduling people (located in NY) were rude, lied to me several times on the phone, and caused a huge disruption in my schedule. Once they got their money, it seemed that they were not concerned about my satisfaction with the scheduling process or installation.
I was hoping you could tell me who I can complain to regarding the installation schedulers. I am having a terrible time with them. As you know, when you were at the house, we scheduled two crews for this past Saturday. When the scheduler called to confirm the day before (Friday), she said we would receive a call the next morning between 8:30-9am to give us an arrival time. Instead of a call from her the next morning, we got a call from the installers at 7:30am saying that they were outside the house (we were 15 min away, luckily, but were not home). My husband rushed over there, the carpet got installed, the guys did a great job, no problems on that front.
After 10am, I called the scheduler to confirm the second crew, which at that time I was told would be arriving between 12-4. At around 2:30, she called and told me that the second crew would be unable to install the vinyl that day, as they were going to be at their other location until late that evening. I was upset, since we had confirmed the timetable and my husband and I both had to work during the week. I agreed to have them come Tuesday after 3pm (with emphasis on after 3pm so I could get out of work a little early and make it there on time).
Yesterday, Tuesday, I left work early and got there, but since I hadn't heard from them I called to confirm. The scheduler said that she had me down for Wednesday after 3pm not Tuesday (This is a lie. I wrote it down on Saturday as I spoke with the scheduler). I again was upset but said that I would see them the next day (today). The scheduler (not the same one - possibly different ones every time) called at 8am this morning and confirmed - specifically saying AFTER 3PM. I agreed.
Then, at 12:40, she calls saying that they are at my house and no one is there. I said that the agreement was for after 3pm. She tells me that they never promise times or stops (another lie - two of them DID promise after 3pm and one of them was this morning)! She told me that the installers would not wait there until 3pm and would have to reschedule AGAIN. I asked to speak to her supervisor, at which point she said she IS the supervisor (so she has no boss??) and she said she could just CANCEL MY ORDER. What? I can't believe anyone would do business this way when a customer is spending over $6,000.
So supposedly they are coming tomorrow (Thursday after 12pm). Quite honestly, even though we had a great experience with you and the guys who installed the carpet portion of our order, these scheduling issues will make it unlikely that I will order from your company again. Of course they have not offered any compensation for me leaving work and now making arrangements 3 different days to be home during the time we agreed to.
The next day: The scheduler called to confirm that the installer would be there after 12pm. At 4pm, I called to ask if he was still coming. I was told that she would find out where he was and call me back. After an hour, when she hadn't called me back, my husband called and she told him that the installer was ON THE WAY to my house (this turned out to be a lie). The installer called at 6:30pm (after my husband took the entire day off to be there at noon) to say he couldn't make it because he was far away and wasn't done with the job he was on. He asked if he could come tomorrow (Friday) at 8am. So I'm taking tomorrow off and Erik took today off for nothing. No one in charge emailed me or contacted me regarding my email.
We are planning to do the 3 bathrooms, foyer, and laundry room at some point but won't be going with this company again. So crazy how a great customer service experience can turn terrible so quickly. The carpet installers and you were great. The schedulers are rude, unapologetic, and unprofessional. They act like there aren't choices when there are plenty of other companies to get flooring from that don't act like its a privilege to give them your money. I guess our time isn't worth anything since we honored our promise to be home all of these times that they promised they would be here and didn't show up. Erik doesn't get his day off back. Honestly if the movers weren't coming Saturday I would have cancelled. I'll let you know if it finally gets installed.
End result: The second team finally arrived the next morning at 8am and did a great job installing our vinyl plan flooring. This was 6 days after what was promised. I am shocked that the owner nor the district manager did not contact me to follow up. Because of this, though the sales rep was great and so is the product, I will not be using this company for my future flooring needs.

Thank you for a great experience from the time we met Brian to the time the installers finished. Brian was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the products as well as the procedure.The 2 separate crews that were here that day worked well together. I was surprised they could do it all in one day.

The old kitchen floor was removed and new hardwood, provided by National Floors Direct, was installed on the existing underlayment. The team was on time and did the work according to our agreement. Additionally, we agreed on a separate contract for installing a new carpet on the access stairs. We were happy with the end result.

Very pleasant experience without the high pressure sale. Detailed explanation of product types and several great samples to choose from. I has several rooms to have work done and they are able to accommodate each one. Couldn't be any more convenient with the in-home shopping and the quick installation dates. Highly recommended.

The whole process of working with National Floors Direct was a pleasure. The promptness and pleasantness of the salesman Matt was impressive. After negotiating the price we booked the install. I was a bit worried about the installers after reading some poor reviews. All my worries were put aside a minute after meeting the installers. They were very courteous and professional. They went over my order with me before starting to make sure it was all that I was expecting. They worked hard and fast, and they were ever so polite. I would recommend that for all flooring needs NFD is the place to work with! From a very happy customer in Ipswich, Mass.

Alterna Floor - Skeptical at first about paying before work was started. Worried for nothing. My installer, Miguel **, was first rate all the way. Worked 2 LONG days, new sub floor and this floor looks amazing! Just ordered carpets and house is done!

I had spent time trying to work with a "big box" store thinking our flooring replacement would be a pretty simple process. After countless headaches, I reached out to National Floors Direct and quickly Larry was at my home to assess the situation. He talked me through the steps and options and helped guide me through the process. He was knowledgeable and there was no pressure. I felt like Larry was working to make the process easy and something I would be happy with for many years to go. Now after not knowing when this project would get done just yesterday, I'm looking forward to having my new carpets in just a week. Thank you Larry!

Larry was an excellent salesman. He went out of his way to be respectful, patient, and accommodating of our situation. We were very appreciative and happy with his service and look forward to receiving our carpet very soon. The only thing that we were disappointed with - which was not Larry's fault - was that we are moving and we asked to meet a representative at our old house to pick carpet and then measure at the new house and all the phone representatives we spoke to were not able to help us. Therefore, we were forced to have Larry measure the carpet and then sit in the car with us to choose the carpet. Though Larry was great - this was not our ideal situation.

We were in need of new flooring and saw countless tv commercials. We decided to have the 3 companies on tv come out and quote our living room and office for hardwoods. We were not very impressed with the Empire rep. The Luna rep was very nice but didn't seem to have enough knowledge of hardwood flooring. The National Floors Direct rep Larry was extremely knowledgeable about the flooring we asked for. He was extremely thorough, making sure that all areas of the project would be taken into account. Even went as far as to make sure that under our carpet, the subfloor was sufficient enough to accept the new floor. Something that neither other fella checked. We felt that that was a great indication that National Floors Direct had our best interest in their mind. That was one of the reasons among others we chose this company.

He took the time to look around, gave many ideas that made sense for resale value. He looked at a back room that we didn't think of as an asset, but he made us realize that redoing this room would bring up the value quite a bit as it would be a playroom or family room for the new owners. We were very pleasantly surprised that he would go far above what we would have expected to do what was best for us. We will certainly use the company again.

I have seen the tv ads over and over and finally called when our water heater broke. Our basement Floor got Destroyed and we had a big party coming up in one week. Matt was the sales rep who showed up and was very polite and professional. We choose a nice vinyl tile and it looks great. They came in two days and installed the whole job in one day! We love the floor and highly Recommend National Floors Direct to anybody!

I called after seeing the commercial and scheduled a free estimate. I was running late from work and my Wife was there when Matt arrived within the time they gave us. I figured he would be a normal sales guy who was being pushy AS WE HAD DEALT WITH IN THE PAST, but she said afterwards he was very nice and asked repeatedly if he should just wait to come in until I got home from work which she liked. He helped us in choosing a really nice hardwood floor. The installers came within a week which we thought was amazing as our past experiences with other shop at home companies had not been too good. They were done in one day and did a great job. My wife and I love the floor. We highly recommend National Floors and have already recommended. We have already referred my in-laws!!
