I called National Floors Direct for an estimate for carpeting in a bedroom. I received a phone call from their sales manager (Matt **) letting me know that he would be on time. When Matt arrived he carried in four books of carpet samples. Unfortunately we couldn't find what we like but Matt says "no problem, I have many more books". We found the right carpet after he explained any questions we had. His professionalism and small talk about our families made for enjoyable experience. My carpet was installed 24 hours later by two hard working installers and it looks great. National Floors Direct is got my business.

I was a little hesitant to use a company I found off TV but am glad I did. Their salesman Matt showed up in the window they gave me and was very pleasant to deal with. He responded to me very quickly when I had some questions afterward about my floor. We installed a hickory hardwood floor and it came out great. The installers were very professional and did a great job. I had a small issue afterward and the customer service team handled it and treated me fair. I have already referred a friend and Matt has treated him the same. I highly recommend National Floors Direct to any homeowner.

It was a pleasure to deal with a salesman who was motivated to help us find a flooring that suited our decor and budget. He made an extra effort to provide details of various types of flooring. He was very patient in discussing each type of flooring we expressed a possible interest in. He displayed and described samples at all levels, not simply pushing the highest priced materials since we had told him our budget was limited. He struck the right balance in attitude: assertive but not aggressive.

I had estimates from Empire Carpet and Luna Carpet. They don't tell you in the ads but it turns out they are actually the same company! What a scam. Anyway they both spent half their time bashing National Floors Direct. They told me a whole list of reasons not to use National. By the time I had the 2nd appointment, I had enough. I decided to cancel National's appointment and buy from Luna. They talked a good game. I put down a deposit and booked the install for 3 weeks out - their earliest date. Day of install, no show, no call. I called and waited on hold for an hour and they wouldn't let me cancel.
I called National Floors Direct back. The salesperson came out the next day. They beat the Luna price on the spot and installed the next day! I saved almost $1000 on the job and the carpet in my house looks amazing. The morale: DON'T BELIEVE SALESPEOPLE WHO SPEND MORE TIME BASHING THEIR COMPETITION THAN SELLING THEIR COMPANY! Thanks National Floors Direct for coming to the rescue!!!
Thank you for your feedback and for choosing National Floors Direct! We hope you enjoy your new floor and we hope to service you again very soon.

The salesman was a knowledgeable and helpful young man named Joel. He helped us to determine the best carpet for our condo and made all the installation arrangements. On install day the workmen hustled and completed the install in about 4 hours. They took away the old carpet and all the trash. After doing so much other work to get the condo ready for sale it was a relief to have someone take care of the carpeting with no effort from me beyond writing a check. The place looks beautiful and we already have an offer on it.

An appointment was scheduled for Monday, 10/17/16. Installation was completed as promised on Tuesday, 10/18/16. The installers arrived within the window provided; their professionalism and workmanship was exceptional. We were very pleased!

This is my second time using National Floors Direct. The first was six years ago for all the carpeting in my home. I remain very pleased with the carpet and install to this day. My recent kitchen floor is no different. I found dealing with all the folks at NFD a pleasure. From the choosing of the flooring to install I was treated first class. Again I am very pleased with the flooring. I would not hesitate to use your company again or tell others to give you a call. Wishing you continued success.

I was a little cautious to go with National Floors Direct as they are such a large company. However, I was very happy with our choice. The installers were professional, clean, thorough and quick. Our basement has been transformed into a much cozier space that our kids now spend hours playing in. Thanks for everything!

National Floors Direct made everything quick, easy, and pain-free for us. We are first-time home buyers and the idea of purchasing flooring was daunting. There are so many choices, and the cost adds up quickly. Our sales rep made the process easy by figuring out what exactly we were looking for, and then giving us time to look over options while taking measurements. When he came up with the quote, we were concerned about our budget, so he found ways to modify our order to fit our budget without sacrificing our wants and needs. The installers did a terrific job, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I walked into the rooms--it was like we had a brand new house! We are very happy with the work National Floors Direct did, and we would recommend them to anyone looking to buy flooring.

I am not sure where I should start. When I first set up an appointment for them to come out and look at what they were going to do they sent me a reminder phone call letting me know that on Saturday they would be arriving at the home between the hours of 9 and 12 and would give me a phone call 30 minutes prior to the salesman arriving. None of those things ever happened. I called back the next day and told them that no one showed up. They apologized but still happened to blame it on me saying "that no one was home", go figure.
Once I got their absurd pricing I showed them other estimates I had gotten that were way cheaper than them. The salesman said he had to call his VP of sales who was a complete waste of time. He shot down everything that was on the estimate as to being a cheaper quality. I then told him match the so called cheaper quality and beat the price. The VP of sales then said "we match real estimates not fake estimates like the ones you provided." Mind you that one estimate was from The Home Depot and another was from Carpet Plus a small business from Watertown, CT.
National Floors Direct are the so called guaranteed to beat anyone's price by 15% or it's free company. It's a total gimmick, if they can't beat the price they'll blame it on our products have a better quality... Lol, the flooring that was so called cheaper than the NFD floor had a 30 year warranty when NFD only had a 15 year warranty. Stay away from this company at all costs, they pride themselves at being the cheapest and it's a total lie. If you are using them make them your last estimate just so you can have a nice laugh when you see everyone beats their prices without even knowing what their prices are.

National Floors Direct are full of con artist and liars as far as my experience is concerned. Pierre their sales rep came to my house and basically looked over my kitchen floors and said the work would be no problem. Despite my concerns of the project, he confidently said it could be done with a couple of guys in six hours. I thought, well if he's that confident then this must easier than I thought. I then spent the better part of 2 nights clearing my kitchen so that the installers could work on the kitchen floors.
Come installation day (took the whole day off of work), they sent one installer who upon one look at my floors said he could not do the work. I tried explaining to him what Pierre and I spoke about but he barely spoke english so we had a language barrier issue. However, it became crystal clear that he couldn't and wouldn't do the job. I tried calling National Floors Direct but kept getting their messaging center to which I explained to them 3 times about my situation and that I needed someone to call me.
Finally after the installer left, I get a call from Frank their installation manager. He gives me this flippant reply stating that the work was beyond what they could handle and that they really couldn't do anything about it. He then goes on a tangent about how National Floors Direct is losing money on this transaction. I could care less, what about the time and money wasted on my end!! These guys have no clue about customer service or service in general. Save yourself the horrible nightmare that is National Floors Direct and pay a little extra for a competent flooring contractor or company.

Had National Floors come and give estimate. Pierre was VERY nice and knows how to sell. Crew came to install floor. They worked very, very hard from about 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and got install done. It was getting dark and we were all very tired. They left and next day noticed one plank was cut too short, enough so that the baseboard would not cover the space. Two other spaces in corners were cut too short as well which left a hole in the corners. Another spot in entryway they had pried the new board up and left pry marks in the wood and last place was a board that had split at the end and a piece of the board was actually missing. They still installed the board.
I called Customer Service. Rude, Rude Alison said it was due to our baseboards... not install!! Send, send pictures, did so, was told to take pictures again at chest level (which made things of course, less noticeable, but still would not even send out a representative to look at it. I spent $4,000 to get this hardwood and they ARE NOT WILLING to even work with you to fix flaws that were due to worker install mistakes!!!). Alison was very, very rude saying there was no one to talk to... She was the only one and she denied everything and blamed it on our baseboards. We bought new baseboards which they recommend you do. Still no satisfaction!!! Will not do business with them again.
I am disappointed that nice Pierre continues to sell for this company... It tells me he could care less about the customer satisfaction and therefore, diminishes his professionalism he portrays! The company is not willing to fix mistakes made by their installers. I now have to try to fill these areas myself with wood glue to try to cover their workmanship flaws. Won't go there again... Not reputable at all!!! They know how to lock you into their contracts and do nothing to help satisfy flaws created by them!

I worked for this company for a few days and in those short days I was disgusted by how this company discriminates against people who they feel "have no money". They base this discrimination on where potential customers live. The head of their customer's service department is probably, no I correct that, is the nastiest person to ever claim to want to help someone. The owner talks about customers and potential customers like they are the scum under his shoes. If you want great customers service along with quality work I would never suggest National Floors Direct! Once they get your money they are done with you even if they were the one to make the mistake.

It is with great disgust that I write this. I called National Floors Direct on Friday 7/1/16 to set up an appointment for a free in-home estimate. The appointment was set up for today 7/2/16 between 11 and 1. I phoned to cancel the appointment at 9 am on 7/2/16 and this is how the call went: Me: "I am in need of canceling my appointment for today due to an emergency as nobody will be here for the appointment. I will need to reschedule." Agent: "When would you like to reschedule for?" Me: "I'm not sure as I don't know how today is going to go. I will have to call you back." Agent: "What time was your appointment?" Me: "11-1" Agent: In a very snippy tone "Well, he's already on his way." Me: "He's already on his way? It's only 9:15, my appointment wasn't until 11-1." Agent: "How rude!" and she proceeded to hang up on me!
My Mother was rushed to the hospital last night due to a heart attack. As you can understand now why I needed to cancel this appointment. The agent had NO right to treat me the way she did whether she knew the circumstances or not. I was in NO way rude to this agent. I phoned NFD as soon as I could to let them know I would not be available for my appointment. I do not know the agent's name as none of the employees state their names when answering the phone. I'm sure they can pull the call recording to listen for themselves if they wanted to. That is if they even do record the calls like it says they do. I am appalled at the behavior of this young lady and am disappointed that NFD hires such inconsiderate personnel. She needs to be sternly reprimanded! I will NEVER do business with NFD company and will run my mouth EVERY chance I get to tell everyone how horrible an experience I had.

I am writing this review so other people can avoid the experience we had with National Floors Direct. We were in need of replacing our kitchen floor recently. My husband had just gone through cancer surgery and was still recuperating and we really just needed a quick and easy solution to our kitchen floor replacement. We received neither from NFD. The salesman came right to our house, did all the measurements and brought samples, which is exactly what we needed/wanted due to my husband's health. We put approximately one-third of the cost of the floor down as an initial deposit and was told that on the day of installation we would have to pay the balance in either cash or bank check.
We felt that was understandable and agreed with no issue. We were told that what we chose was a "new" type of floor and we were unable to get a next day installation because he wanted to make sure we got a crew who was familiar with this new product. A bit disappointing but happy that the salesman was looking out for us. We scheduled for the following Saturday which was a week away. On Thursday I received a confirmation call confirming installation for Saturday and was made aware that when the installers arrived with the product, we were to inspect the flooring to make sure it was what we wanted then we would have to pay the installers BEFORE they began the work! When we said that we would rather wait to see the end result before we made payment (remember cash or banker's check) we were told that we had signed the contract stating their payment policies and they would not install the floor without upfront payment. Wow.
We checked the contract and sure enough there was the payment policy. Shame on us. So we felt as though we had no choice and confirmed installation for Saturday feeling like they had pulled one over on us but still looking forward to our new floor and trying to chalk it up to lesson learned, read the fine print! (They do give you a three-day right to cancel but since the delivery was made a week out we had already passed those three days, clever trick NFD!) The next day, Friday, we received a call from NFD saying they had "bad news" and would not be able to install the floor on Saturday because while loading the flooring into the truck they noticed that all the boxes were damaged and so was the flooring inside. Needless to say we were very disappointed and asked for our deposit back and AGAIN were told that we could not cancel because it had been over the three days.
We argued that we had been misled and they were now the ones not fulfilling their end but still the bottom line was they had over $600 of our money and we had no floor and no confidence in this company. The people who contacted us prior to the contract were friendly and polite and the salesman was very nice but after that contract was signed it was a completely different story! The girl that called us to let us know the product was damaged was rude and completely unsympathetic as if she did this type of call all the time, which I'm sure she does. On the second attempt to install, we received no confirmation call and the day of installation I was called by NFD and told the installers would be at my home between 9 and 12, when the installers were already there at 8:30.
Bottom line after many phone calls, lots of swearing and threatening on our part, several downright lies by NFD about the product being damaged and wrong size, etc., the floor was installed almost 2 weeks past our contract signing. The floor looks good and the installers did a good job installing the floor, but left a mess behind and ruined a mat that I had in the room where they were working, a small price to get the whole situation done and over. We were not on our A game while looking for our new kitchen floor. In retrospect we should have waited until my husband was feeling better and gone out to shop around and found another flooring company who would have treated us fairly and respected us.
Please, if you are considering NFD, be aware of their crummy contract, sales techniques (think 3-day cancellation that starts day you sign not day of installation) and payment schedule. I think it's crazy to expect full payment prior to installation! End result is we got a nice floor for an okay price and installed by a polite but messy installer, and a hard time by NFD. We could have done so much better and you can, too.

We wanted a nice carpet runner to cover the staircases for our new, little, pond-side cabin... Carpet on the stairs is cozier, easier on the feet, and is considerably quieter and less slippery. We called National Floors Direct at the recommendation of our builder. We had virtually an immediate callback after our initial outreach to National Floors Direct, and a sales representative met with us the following week. We knew the perfect carpet as soon as we saw it, and signed on the spot. The job was somewhat complex since I was requesting on-site binding to get the edging perfect, but National Floors Direct cooperated beautifully. Our carpet was scheduled to be installed the following week.
Our cabin is off the grid and can be considerably hard to find. If you go wrong, you can get lost in the bogs in a neighboring town forever. Alright not REALLY forever, but we have had delivery people who have needed to be towed out of the wrong way that GPS can take you, and the tows are all in the vicinity of $1000. So, as per usual, I stressed the importance of the delivery people calling me to confirm the directions or to be talked into the site. As much as I do this on a regular basis, most delivery people do not call. Many get lost on the roads that exist on GPS, but no longer exist on the ground. It ain't pretty.
Not only did the delivery men phone, they phoned early, they were delightful, and they beat me to the cabin by 5 minutes. This is a sandy site, and they were very careful about not tracking in sand on the hardwood floors. AND... They did an absolutely exemplary job installing the stairway carpet! I am a design/build professional, and after reading some internet horror stories I was prepared to not be happy, but these two gents did a BEAUTIFUL job, the carpet is gorgeous, and it has made our little cabin in the woods more than just adorable. The carpet has made it feel like home. Thank you, National Floors Direct!

Promised schedule not met make it impossible to recommend you to anyone considering using Nat'l Floors. Call center would not even give me contact to call to get help. I asked for her manager, said she had none. I asked how do I get help, she said "I can't" then she hung up on me.

National floors direct charged us 5500 for 3 rooms of laminate (fake hardwood). They rescheduled three times, into the next week, and I said that was unacceptable. The installer said he would come to finish the next day (which was Thursday) then they said "no it'll be Friday" then "no it would be Monday"! The floors look ok but they make a lot of damage to the walls and drywall! And they denied it!!! I sent them pics as proof and they did not even compensate us!!! I will never ever use them again nor recommend them to anyone!!!

Between September 2008 to the end of 2009, My company installed and performed repairs for NFD. By the way, the president of NFD, if he is still there is Aaron. Their carpet is a very low-grade product, we would not install carpet for them. The hardwood in most cases is an Armstrong product, and the laminate is very low grade. There was a lot if issues with the sales people promising the world even though the job was not possible to install correctly. Laminate in a basement or in a kitchen should not be installed due to higher than normal moisture which will cause issues down the road. We did many repairs which we were never paid for.
Unlike my company and a couple of others, NFD hires low-grade installers with little to know experience. We have installed high-grade flooring products in million dollar homes including stairs. I know that I am jumping around but the bottom line is, NFD holds their installers hostage with what they owe them with bogus excuses and all their products are sub-standard or seconds. After 15 months and them owing me over $24,000 for escrow being held in case a repair was needed of which we never had a complaint on our workmanship and repairs we performed, I would suggest never doing business with NFD, EVER.

I had my basement studio apartment floors replaced in January 6, 2015. They were approved by a representative who came out and inspected the room. I believe in May, I started feeling the floor start to move when I walked on certain areas. I am not in the room very often and as summer approached, I realized that the floor had buckled badly in two different areas and it was dangerous to walk on it, since it was causing me to trip. I turned on the heat to take out any excess moisture and the Sun shines in on two East and South facing sliders, so it gets lots of sunshine most of the day. I called National Floors Direct in June and was told to send photographs, which I emailed to them. They finally sent out a representative on July 24. By this time the floor was buckling in about 6 different areas.
I never heard back from them so I called again on Sept.1, Sept. 4 and then on Sept. 5 I was told that there was nothing they could do about it. I was told to install AC or buy a dehumidifier and that would take care of all the buckling in the floor. I was told that the level of moisture in the room was too high and I asked why they had been approved it then and she said that it had been approved in January and this was Sept. I was furious to say the least. I called them at least 7 times during this time period. I did buy a dehumidifier on Sept. 5, which I have been running 24 hours a day (at great expense) and the floor is better but not totally flat in the original two areas that buckled first. I do not believe this is a legitimate way of doing business and I will never recommend this company to anyone. In hindsight I wish I had read some of the other reviews before I bought from them as I'm sure I would not have used them. I hope this is helpful to others.

I called National Floors to get an estimate on 2 rooms of carpet. The salesmen came and had no idea what he was doing, he said his office did not give him an information. After he measured the rooms he gave me a ballpark estimate and said he had to call his office and could get me a better price, so he called. I signed the contract and gave them a 200.00 deposit and they said I have 3 business days to cancel. They called today to set appointment and told me they needed cash or bank check and that is on the contract. It is on the contract but I did not see it right away.
So I called to cancel the order within my three business days and they told me I will not get my deposit back because they said Saturday is a business day and I would have to cancel earlier. They came out on Wednesday 9-2-15 and I canceled on Tue 9-8-15 as Monday was labor day. So Tuesday 9-3 would be the first day, Friday 9-4 would be the 2nd day, then Saturday and Sunday, then Monday was 9-7 labor day and canceled on 9-8 the third business day, but no refund will be given. DO NOT HIRE THEM, THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS.

I was very apprehensive to give money upfront. The floor was installed without quarter rounds which was promised and the carpet people NEVER showed up. They had my money and I had no carpet. Need I say more. I tried to stop payment on the check but was not successful.

One of the worst company I have dealt with. The sales rep ** came and provided me the quote to put hardwood for upstairs and stairs. We both came to an agreement and signed the contract. Since the stairs' hardwood would be late, he said he will split into two contract. The first team came and put the upstairs and did not put the landing of stairs. The second team came a week later and said they don't have the material for landing. I spoke with customer service and they said, "It should be done as part of first contract."
Now the worst part, the second work technician has broken my stair spindle and left the house without intimating me. After 5 minutes, I did not see the guy working and searched the house and found he left. When I call customer service, they say they can't do spindles, post or rails of the stairs, which was never told to me. And they say, "The agreement specifies only we will do hardwood steps and riser and we won't do spindles, post or rails." They force me to sign the agreement that they won't do spindles, post or rails or they won't start the job.
They removed the carpet on stair step and it has nails. The technician left like that and it is unsafe to walk that step. After telling multiple times that I have kids and how can they leave such unsafe condition, the national floor customer service lady ** does not seem to get it. I would not advice to go with this company. They are not fit to do the job. They are very unprofessional. After that also if you want to sign up, please do so in your risk.

I'm only giving them one star because the rating system doesn't allow for giving zero or negative stars. Don't touch these guys with a 20 ft pole; they're terrible. It took three schedulings to get these guys to drop off an area rug, not a carpet installation, just a rug and some padding. I waited at home all day during the first appointment and no one showed up.
I began calling their customer service at the tail end of the 9 am-12 pm appointment window. However, customer service was unable to contact the installers (curious). By 5 pm I was able to find out that these guys were supposedly on a job in the Bronx, NY when they were supposed to be dropping off my rug in New Jersey. If you believe the story, they scheduled two jobs for the same time in two different states. The second appointment was rescheduled by NFD due to a scheduling conflict and they showed up at 3:00 pm for the 3rd appointment which was scheduled for 9-12. Save your money and your sanity and stay away from NFD.

My husband and I, without checking out this company, BEWARE, hired NFD to install laminate in our kitchen that we were redoing. Their EXPERT came in, saw our totally empty (no cabinets, appliances, etc.) kitchen and measured the floor. We picked out the floor and they said they would be back to install. Although NFD boasts install within 24 hours, that did not happen. Their EXPERT certified Armstrong flooring installers came without the right padding and molding. They had to go to Home Depot to get it. They installed the floor and left. I swear it wasn't the floor I picked out but in all fairness my husband did sign off on it. Subsequently we finished our kitchen with cabinets and appliances.
A week after, the floor started to make cracking noises like a loose shoelace hitting the floor every time we walked on it. Called NFD and spoke with the rudest "customer service" agent I've ever dealt with. After telling her about the problem, we were told "procedure" was to send in our concerns/complaints in writing complete with pictures and they would review it.
After two weeks we called back dealing with the same unprofessional rudeness to be told our claim was denied. (Thanks for the follow up to let us know) because we didn't send a picture. "How do we send a picture of noise?" we asked. "Procedure" requires a picture. We resent our complaint in writing complete with a picture of our floor making noise and waited another 3 weeks.
Again we reached out to NFD, again met with impatience and rudeness and defensiveness. When we asked to speak with a supervisor we were always told she WAS the supervisor (Paula) and that we could go no further than her. After telling her AGAIN about the problem, start to finish, she LOUDLY told us "You can't install cabinets over laminate floor." Okey dokey, then I guess your company will have to come fix the problem since your EXPERTS starting with the salesman who measured and the certified installers who installed never mentioned that to us, mere ignorant consumers when it comes to floor installation, hence our call and hiring of NFD, the flooring EXPERTS, wouldn't know you can't install cabinets on laminate.
After many rude calls and weeks later, another expert came out and saw that it indeed was not installed properly and another appt. was made to reinstall. Another salesman came out, telling us the flooring on our floor had been discontinued (the same month we had it installed, August), (btw it is now Jan. and here we still are dealing with the rudeness of NFD) and that it was a shame we paid for the flooring under our cabinets since it shouldn't have been put there in the first place. We picked out another floor agreeing to pay a small up charge.
Again we were on the phone and yes, now we too were getting a little rude with rude Paula who after my husband told her we should get some compensation for the flooring we paid for under our cabinets because we should never have been charged for something we didn't need, told him no refunds. I spoke with her the following week and she gave in, forfeiting the up charge.. Now mind you this has been going on for FOUR months, filing complaints, making daily phone calls, going on the internet and telling anyone who would listen about the perils of doing business with NFD and paying for flooring (under the cabinets) we didn't even need..
FINALLY we get a little professionalism. WHOA!!! Wait a minute.. the installers came, reinstalled our floor, gave me a bill with a ZERO BALANCE DUE which I signed and the following week we get a call from NFD asking when we were going to pay the up charge due. Wait, what??? When I told them the whole story and about the receipt I have IN HAND I was told, "Oh, that was a mistake."
The reason I am back on to complain is because we have been advised to file a complaint with the Attorney General, which we are, so we called NFD this morning and asked the woman who answered without identifying ourselves if she could give us the address of their corporate headquarters. She asked if we could please hold, a few seconds later a rude (must be a pre-requisite character flaw needed in order to get a job there) man got on the phone and said, “Mr. **, when are you going to pay what you owe us?” "If you would just give me the address I called for that would be appreciated."
After a few minutes of Mr. Rude evading my husband’s request, my husband said "If you aren't going to give me the address I'm asking you for, this conversation is over,” to which Mr. Rude said fine.... NO he never gave my husband any address. My husband just tried again and the women who just answered said the ONLY address she has is in Avon. Certified letter being sent to that address today.
The floor we ended up with is beautiful, although, if Paula hadn't given in on the up charge we would have AGAIN been paying for flooring under our cabinets as they used the same measurements they took the first time and this time, they didn't even put the flooring they would have been charging us for under the cabinets. Still, the hassle, unprofessionalism, threats, "going to put you into collections" and rudeness are NOT worth the outcome of our kitchen.

I am a single mom of three girls living in a two bedroom home in Billerica. I wanted to put my house on the market and needed to replace the carpets. I called National Floors Direct in mid October, as I had seen the ads for them on TV. On Oct 14, the estimator was scheduled to visit, but called stating he was having car trouble, so we rescheduled for oct 16th. On the 16th, he came to my home, assessed the rooms to be carpeted, gave me a price, and asked for a $200 deposit. We scheduled the install for Friday the 24th. On the 24th, two men came and stated they could not do the job because they had nowhere to cut the rug. They were extremely rude and did not cancel with me but called the NFD office and told them they would not do it. I spoke to the office, they rescheduled for the next day, Saturday the 25th. They stated I would be called with a time frame between 8-9am. I called six times that morning requesting a time of arrival, with no response. Finally at noon, NFD called to cancel stating the installers were in an accident. They refused to refund my deposit, so we rescheduled again for Tuesday the 26th.
The crew arrived and stated they could not do the job because my furniture was too heavy to move. The estimator stated my furniture would be "no problem to move" and classified it as "light" on the contract. The installers began to swear and become belligerent, refused to do the job, this time I called NFD, who told the men the job needs to get done. They continued to yell in Spanish over the phone, so I asked them to leave. I demanded a refund and the NFD stated they would not refund my money as I was cancelling less than 24 hrs in advance. The woman I spoke to admitted her workers refused this job. I called several times over the last month and a half, to no avail. I looked them up on the BBB website (which I should have done before I hired them) and saw numerous complaints identical to mine. I went to the courthouse today and was informed I would need to file in Stoughton court, which I cannot do, because I cannot afford to miss another day of work for this.
I explained to NFD that the deposit came out of my late mother's estate, but they hung up on me. When I asked for names of who I was speaking with, everyone refused to provide me their name. $200 is a lot of money for me and coming from my mom's estate makes it that much worse for me By the way, I then went with another company who sent one man alone and he did a wonderful job all by himself, furniture and all! Thank you.

Then I got a call that afternoon and tell me the product is backordered, after I took the whole day off of work for them. I called back to speak with the manager, no manager to speak to. I called the salesman but never got a returned call. The customer service reps just passed me back and forth for 30 to 40 mins. Then I get a call that they can install following week, then lo and behold, they are out of stock again on the hardwood. I said just do the carpet first then. Well they ran out of carpet and left the stairs and tack board exposed for weeks. Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!!!!!

Same problem, carpet so flimsy & thin there is a visible line throughout the house where the floor trim sits above the carpet. It's so awful! After several phone calls, the women in the office are just as arrogant and nasty as the salesman. Needless to say, the carpet was put in in April. After the installation, the next day, the base moldings started to come off. They sent people back to fix it. Not the same people that originally installed it. They ended up replacing or re-gluing all of it. My next problem happened when the floor started to crack at the. They asked me to take pictures and send them to them, so I did and waited and waited and waited. I finally called them. They claimed they did not receive them. I ended sending the a total of four times. They still claimed they had not received them. I told her that I was given a different address to send them to. All of a sudden they found the pictures. I was told that they would send the to the manufacturer for warranty.
Well this went off with the runaround I finally ended up calling Armstrong to complain. I was told that they sent them a response and that they should have received it. He sent another one. I talked to National Floors Direct. I was told that they still had not received it. I called Armstrong again and told them of my frustration. She put me on hold and called them. I was on hold for about fifteen minutes and she came back on the phone. She told me that they are ridiculous and could see my frustration. She was told to call back after three that the person who handles the mail will be in. Then Armstrong called her back after three on two consecutive days and was told that the mail is sent to New York and they handle it. I was told that maybe it happened because I washed the floor.
Armstrong denied the claim. It was an installation problem. Gee, I was really surprised. NOT. They disagreed and I received no repair of the floor. My frustration is warranted and they are very poor Company. The office employees are no bargain. I asked to speak to the owner and I was told that I would never get to talk to him. They make you pay upfront so there is no real recourse. I am now on my fourth week of waiting for one step to be replaced. The step was installed cracked and the installer tried to cove it up with nails and filler. After sending the two pictures which they requested or they wouldn't do anything. They still made me wait two more weeks. If it was my business I would have been back the next day. When they finally got here they ripped out the bad step and then notified me the new one was too short so they had to order another on.
It is now two weeks later and I am here with a ripped out step on my stairs. Keep in mind I paid them in full almost 3 months ago. Plus I took numerous days out of work cause they will not give you a time they are gonna be here. They call you the morning of and say either between 9 and 12 or 1 and 4, not sure what happens if they get there at 4. I guess you don't sleep that night. I asked about the levelling of the floor which was brought to the salespersons attention, and she said the installers would fix it before laying down the carpet. Long story short, while laying down the carpet in my den, they chipped 5 ceramic tiles, then in placing a strip between the kitchen door-well and the hallway they placed it but didn't cut out for the door to open and close so it broke. Then when we looked at the installation, the carpet was not flushed against the baseboards. National Floors' own employee told me the floor was improperly installed. I had an independent contractor look at the floor and they told me it wasn't installed correctly. NFD is blaming it on moisture because of some reading they had when they came to look at the mess.
However, they didn't have a moisture reading when they where installing the floor! Maybe because moisture isn't covered under warranty; therefore, they can take my 2500$$ and rip off this consumer. They agreed to fix the floor but sent an installer with one box of flooring. The installer was upset when he saw the condition my floor was in and couldn't fix the problem with one box. NFD has refused to let me speak with a manager and/or owner of the company, and outright refused to fix this problem.

On the day it was scheduled to be installed, August 23, 2010, their contractor arrived to my house to tell me that it could not be installed because it was raining. They were scheduled to come back on August 30, 2010, but we had to reschedule the day of the installation, due to the fact that they would not be to our house until after 5pm, when they had told us we would have a morning appointment.
On September 7, 2010, I received a bill from the financing company, GE Money, noting that on August 21, 2010, I had been charged the remaining balance of $1230 on the carpet which had not yet been installed. I contacted National Floors Direct and spoke to Steve, who indicated that there was nothing they could do. He indicated that it was not possible to reverse the charges, and keep the account open.
I called GE Money on September 8, 2010, and the customer service agent, Ann, said it was a violation of FTC regulations to charge me for a product I had not received, and stated it was possible to reverse the charges, and keep the account open. She stated that the company just needed to reverse the charges, and then reapply them when they installed the carpet. She offered to have a conference call with National Floors Direct to rectify the situation.
Additionally, on the contract, it noted that the financing payment plan would be, no payment for a year on my financing, which the GE customer service representative stated that they do not provide. I contacted Carl at National Floors Direct, who stated that because it would cost the company money to reverse the charges, as well as the fact that I signed a contract, that offered me no payment for one year, which was not accurate, he would cancel my order with a full refund. To date, September 25, 2010, the charges continue to exist on my GE money account, and therefore have not been reversed, and I have not received my $600 deposit.
I am currently out $600 cash for an order of carpet I never received, and eventually cancelled, and have a debt of $1,230 plus fees through their financing company, that has not been refunded.

It wasn't until 2:30 in the afternoon when the installation manager finally phoned to say the flooring still was not available and that they could not install the floor until Sat. 26th and there was no compensation being given.
This appears to be yet another delay. If the flooring isn't in, how can he promise installation for Sat the 26th? This company advertises next day installation and it has been almost a month and we still have no flooring. They, however, have had my deposit. I have requested a full refund. John the installation manager is saying it takes 10 working days to receive the refund.
