Called a couple months ago about a suspected bad window. Milgard promptly sent a representative to check and he agreed. A new window was ordered. Milgard sent a crew to replace the window within a very reasonable time. The crew were polite, professional and prompt. (I'm building a new house and am ordering Milgard windows for that house too)! Outstanding product, service and employees. Have dealt with Milgard for 20 years now. Outstanding.

The technician was efficient, friendly and asked if there were any other windows that needed his attention after he fixed the window we needed help with. He even proactively replaced the same parts on the window that was mullioned to the one that was faulty in case the parts were similarly affected. Nice work!

There were patterns appearing between our glass panels....well 4 of them. Milgard had some computer issues which delayed scheduling, but it was scheduled easily after the systems were up. The technician was on time for the assessment and provided a courtesy call 15 mins before arriving, same for the glass replacement. Thanks Milgard!

We purchased all the windows in our home so long ago. At the time I appreciated the windows so much! As the years went by a few of them became foggy and some we couldn't even see out of anymore. Upon call Milgard I found (much to my delight!!!) out that we had purchased a product with lifetime warranty! All it took was a phone call and you made it happen. Simple. No hassles or justifications. Now…. as my new windows went in... I appreciate Milgard!

Your repair tech was fantastic...on time and efficient! Your website, for service request is misleading. I waited considerable time for any follow-up. After not receiving any follow-up, I then called various Milgard phone numbers to then initiate an appointment. Otherwise, great product and great service!

This was a super easy process. I just emailed Milgard. I emailed them on 8/1 and they responded they were really busy, but we did get all the information worked out. The technician came right away after that on 11/7 and had the correct glass size and switched out the glass. The technician was very nice and professional. He wasn't even here an hour. The window looks fabulous! It was worth the wait and they stood by their guarantee. I couldn't be more pleased!

Outstanding customer service. The two service providers were wonderful. They tackled the work with precision and excellent attention to details. Our house had settled and they worked very hard to get the slider to run smoothly. They were polite and courteous as well. 5 star all the way.

Day of installation went smoothly. They called for directions and arrived on time. It was tricky for them to work on one second story window as the metal roof is steep and slippery. Only dissatisfaction was in scheduling the replacement. I did not receive a call back or response to email. After waiting over a month I had to call again. I did get good service at that point.

We had a broken seal. I contacted Milgard. We are the 2nd owner of home but were covered under 10 year warranty. The first time they sent the tech with the wrong size window. We needed to reschedule for the following month. He was in and out in about 15 mins.

Great service on their Lifetime Warranty program. Had the windows for 14 years and have gone to great lengths to take good care of them. Recently noticed a film between panes of 2 different windows. Called and was quickly channeled to local contractors which gave prompt, professional service to replace them.

Happy with repair of window in exterior door where seal had gone bad. Had corrosion of outside door handle and within a week, we received a replacement of a no longer available part that must have been found in warehouse. Very appreciative of extra service!

SLIDING DOORS LOCKS DID NOT LOCK. The guys showed up at 8:15am and fixed the 2 sliding doors and were in and out in less than 20 minutes. Showed up on time and explained what they had done and any future issues I may have with one of the doors.

We had 4 failed windows that needed to be replaced. The online process was not easy for non computer savvy person. Once we got to a real ;person on the phone things went better. Once scheduled for window replacement everything went very well. Installer arrived on time and was very professional and courteous. Good job.

Milgard used to be present in IL so they would send people out to fix my window. Now the process is taking long time... I have to open up a ticket with Milgard then call other local window companies to come provide me an estimate, go back to Milgard for approval, pay it myself, submit the invoice, wait 6-8 weeks for payment! So it's getting very inconvenient.

The technician was at my house for 15 minutes. In that time, he recognized the problem, the fact that Milgard had sent out the wrong parts (not their fault), got the right parts, and fixed the problem. Courteous, friendly, knowledgable, and professional. What more could you ask? Thanks!

Utilizing my Lifetime Warranty, I needed my sliding door fixed right away as I had a party coming up. They found me an appt before the party, confirmed it, called that they were running early, came, fixed it in 15 mins, were clean and courteous, and now my door works before my party!! The to two workman that came to replace the scratched window were early (after calling to verify that was ok). They were very courteous and considerate of the flooring and surrounding areas. I had sent an email to the dispatcher prior to the install day that the Windows Only workman needed to rent a lift to install the windows. This either didn't get passed on or was ignored. It took the two workman 3-45 minutes to figure out a way to replace the window safely. And safely is a relative term. They finished quickly after figuring out their approach and cleaned up the worksite when done. My issue is why was a scratched window delivered or installed scratched in the first place?

Milgard (West Linn, OR) has been great since leaving a phone message on 10/24. I originally contacted Wood Windows Inc (Boise) on 9/24, when they told me "we will fill out a service ticket and Milgard will call to set up." It took a month to get the phone call, but Milgard responded very quickly when I call this morning (10/18).

The service is wonderful: he fixed my 3 windows by adjusting the window components time by time. He is also very patient with explaining with me why it did not work previously. The whole process only took me 40 minutes. I did not know his name but I want to say a big thank you to him!

The window repairs were highly satisfactory. The process of arranging the date and time was, however, quite cumbersome. Milgard representative would only offer Wednesdays initially. After much discussion and pleading they agreed to Saturday which is much more convenient for most customers.

I had to have a bathroom window replaced. A service person was sent out initially to measure and verify the window number. However, when another service person came out a couple of months later the he found that what he had was not what was needed so it had to be ordered again along with a two month wait. Finally the window replacement was installed and I am satisfied with the replacement and the work of the service person.

It took more than 5 months and several emails and a phone call for our windows to be replaced. I learned about the need for the numbers printed inside the window the hard way. I originally requested 4 windows to be replaced. They replaced 3, and the installers said the last window wasn't the correct one, so they put in the order for me. In the meantime, I saw 2 more windows that needed replacement and put in another order. I got a phone call and email setting up a time to replace the original window, and Milgard added the 2 new windows to that order. I now have 6 windows replaced and am very thankful that Milgard honors this wonderful replacement policy. The installers were great.

Good response and detailed order information was taken by main office. Repair date was 3 months out for the house call. Since it was out so far would have liked a call from Milgard a couple of weeks before. I called 4 days before date and was told they would call a couple days before coming. The tech was polite, and did work well and quickly. Very happy with the front office and tech.

Your technicians are professional, clean, pleasant & polite. Your phone contact is awful! Waited 40 minutes & finally hung up. Left a callback number & no one returned my request. I requested any day but Thursday- what day was I given- Thursday (twice). I’m grateful the windows have a lifetime warranty!

I purchased Milgard windows when we remodeled our house - a total of 11 windows/doors. 2 of the windows had a failure and there is crystallization between the panes. I contacted for warranty service and had to wait 2 months for a service guy to come just to tell me he had the wrong glass. He said he would reorder and reschedule. 1 more month and no contact. I contacted Milgard again, and they scheduled service for 2 months out again. When the service day came, the service guy called and said they didn't book a 2 person crew and it would require 2 people due to the size of the glass. Again he said they would reschedule and contact me.
Another month goes by with no contact. I contacted Milgard again and was assured they would have the right glass and the correct number of people for an appointment 2 months out (again). On this service day, the service guy calls early in the morning and says the glass broke while they were putting it into the truck. It's been 8 months already waiting for this warranty service. This is ridiculous, and the problems are still not solved.

Warranty work. My contractor installed 5 new Milgard windows. One of the windows had a crack in the glass. Milgard replaced the window without question. Installer were on time and professional. Extremely satisfied.

He was friendly, removed his shoes before entering the home, quickly did the repair and neatly and let me know that I should call back if there were any problems though he expected that everything was taken care of properly.

Thank you for repainting my Milgard vinyl window trim. It is now a rich brown, again. I am sorry you had so much trouble with the color formulation for these wonderful windows. You had to repaint twice. Hopefully it will now last my lifetime. Both crews were good. The first crew seemed more organized and worked more quickly, but the second crew was responsive and worked hard. They had difficulty with the ridiculously tight fit of your screens. Your head maintenance person said Milgard screens are made to fit that way. Seems strange to me. But your windows and warranty service are superb.

The repair person who did warranty work this week was very thorough and explained all that needed to be done to keep the cracked windows operating. He did more work that was originally called for when we realized that many of the other windows had sun-cracked parts that could be replaced easily.

Milgard service reps have for 12 years delayed and avoided fixing the balancing hardware for my window, until today. Valentine was proactive, and committed to a solution that worked and now I can open my window without throwing out my back. All other reps just oiled the window, and shrugged, and left me with a window I avoided using. For 12 years. Hire more service people like Valentine.

The reps went above the call when they had to remove the glass from the door in order to get the frame out of the track because the house had settled over time. They came fully equipped and were able to solve the problem and reseat the glass pane. They also tightened the handle more with an impact screwdriver and move the catch on the frame to deal with the settling. Both men were polite and knowledgeable, that's why Milgard is so good to deal with!!

I am getting conflicting answers on whether my failed windows are under warranty. Milgard customer service and independent sales agents have told me that the warranty doesn't apply to the second owner. I have seen online that Milgard states that the warranty will transfer if the sale of the home is less than 10 years from the install date. If that is true then my windows should be under warranty. How can I get a straight answer??? I have 30+ windows that have failed since the house was 8 years old when I bought it. I would contend Milgard has in inferior product and doesn't back that product with a reasonable warranty. They don't seem to want to make this right. Be wary of investing in Milgard windows.

Hi Leslie - The warranty has been updated over time. The current warranty transfers to the 2nd owner 10 years from the install date. You can find a copy of the warranty for your specific year on our website. There is a year of installation stamped in the metal part of the window track. Very Happy with the customer service and also the service at Milgard. I had a damaged window and one call found out it was covered and it would be replaced. With a 2 hour window the service man showed up early!! What!!! Window was in cleaned and he offered to fix any other issues. I’m very impressed, customer service is still alive. I should know I worked for Nordstrom for many years and it was fantastic to see this kind of service!

We're doing a remodel on our downstairs and decided to replace the kitchen window and laundry room window. The windows looked great in the showroom but once they were brought home the quality was disappointing. There are gaps in the corners where the glass is, the small window in the laundry room doesn't slide smoothly and is loose, and all the edges on the lips of the windows look like they were cut out with a table knife, they're rough and not smooth. We waited for over a month for them to come in and didn't want to wait another month so they've been installed. When we decide to replace all our windows I definitely won't be looking here.

Main office called 2 days prior of appointment with a time frame for repairs. On day of repair Mark called with an arrival time estimate. Upon arrival, he quickly replaced the lock. I really appreciated the calls and Mark was very professional and efficient replacing the lock.

One of our Milgard windows had become streaked between the two panes. I called Milgard and had no problem scheduling a replacement. The window was replaced on the day that was scheduled. They came in the window of time that had been emailed to me. The two men who replaced the window were professional, friendly and efficient. Expected better. But happy with outcome. I ordered my sliding glass door mid August. The original door came in damaged. A few weeks later the next door came in and was installed, only to find out this one was damaged, a hole in the screen, a loose door handle and scratches all over the door and screen. Not to mention the screen door wouldn’t stay on the tracks. A new one was ordered that day, but was further delayed when there was an apparent programming error. I wasn’t notified my door wasn’t ready until an hour prior to the time the door repairman was supposed to arrive, which I had taken a day off work for.

The repairman called saying he had a cancellation and therefore could come to my job early. I very much appreciated that (versus waiting for the 2 hour window). He was clean, polite and fixed the window within minutes! I'm very pleased.

However, communication via email with customer support was disappointing. Usually, it took several days for a reply to my email. Email replies are typically submitted same day or within 24 hours.

Skylights are under lifetime warranty so that has been a savior as all 7 have been replaced at least twice in the 20 years they’ve been in and a few have been replaced three times. Milgard has always honored the warranty and replaces leaking units when notified. Drawback is it takes about 3 weeks to get a unit replaced, not great in the Pacific NW where we get lotsa rain.

The service techs called when they were on their way, showed up on time and replaced a window that had failed. They used shoe covers to protect our carpeting, removed the failed window and replaced it within an hour. Both men were courteous and professional. I was very satisfied.

This is an ongoing problem for us on this 2 year old door. The serviceman today said it is faulty installation. This is his second time coming to our home to fix this. He was very courteous and professional and was able to adjust the door for now. I don’t expect it to be a permanent solution though.

We had seven windows replaced today (10-4-19) at our house at **, San Diego, CA 92129. The worker arrived about 15 minutes earlier than the projected two-hour time slot we were given and was very courteous and efficient. He replaced the windows in about 90 minutes.

I Purchased and had a sliding glass door put in the day of installation we noticed a small crack on the glass. They promptly came out within two weeks but it’s a new piece of glass and fix the air. I had four window panes replaced due to some streaking inside the panes. The crew was on-time, performed the replacement in less than an hour and even fixed some loose screens on the windows. I would like to say the guys that came to do my service call today were friendly, professional, neat and actually early! This was the best service call from ANYBODY I have had to do work at my house. Crew arrived promptly and went to work. We thought it was one obvious pane to be replaced but a second one was also replaced because your technician had noticed it from the outside and hadn't mentioned it. (The window is usually shielded from the street with blinds). I certainly wouldn't have ignored it had I had seen it during his inspection. Excellent experience.

Only disappointment was the time it took to have a service rep come by to help us for something that should’ve been factory tested (retractable screens did not work properly on any door AND no latches for the screens were installed). Lastly, Gregg didn’t have the one replacement handle for the one we told Milgard was damaged. Gregg was excellent in helping us service the doors.

The installer was great and his workmanship was great also. I didn't like the initial call and appt setup. I had a problem finding my order number and the Milgard rep. keeps telling me it's in between the pane. I looked everywhere and it's not there. In fact, most of my windows don't have the order number. Luckily I was able to find the order number from a sticker on my sliding door. If it wasn't for that, I would have been out of luck. Don't emphasize on the order number stamped between the window pane because it's not here.

I had 5 seals go out on our Milgard Windows. They came out and did and inspection, took measurements and ordered new windows. Once windows available they scheduled an installation. All correspondence was professional and efficient. Xavier was the tech both times and he did a wonderful job. He was knowledgeable, polite, friendly and efficient.

I just bought a home 2 weeks ago that was build in 2008. I noticed that 12 windows looked "hazy" so I had a window cleaner come out to clean them. The window cleaner informed me that the issue was in between the panes & could not be cleaned. I contacted Milgard who informed me that their "lifetime warranty" did not transfer to me once I purchased the home. These windows are only 11 years old and the company would not stand behind their product. They referred me to two glass companies who could come out and replace the glass at my expense. They explained that once the home is sold to a new owner, there is only a 10-year warranty. These windows are 11-years old, and they would not stand behind their product. I've been extremely frustrated with Milgard. Recently, I have become aware of water intrusion in my exterior wall. I submitted a warranty request. After several weeks I finally received a service call. After performing a "track test" the service rep determined the window was not to blame. I engaged a contractor to do further testing and, indeed, the window is failing. I have repeatedly tried to follow up with Milgard to get another service rep to visit my house so I can show them what we have found. I spend hours on hold waiting to speak to someone. But, I always tire and drop off the line. Currently I've been on hold for 2 hours and 15 minutes. Milgard is about to win again! The lifetime warranty is great. The problem is getting Milgard to schedule a service call.

Replace seals. The workers were on time and worked diligently. The only issue worth mentioning was the clean up. There were small amounts of old seal on the floor and outside. Unfortunately, some of the pieces were like stepped on gum.

The service technicians were very friendly, efficient, and professional in completing the glass replacement in my two windows. I would give them top marks! But I was disappointed in the communication process regarding the appointment. I did not receive a call on my cell phone to confirm the arrival time beforehand, so I had to send an email to the office. I first tried calling customer service, but got disconnected each time. Also I did not receive any notification that the crew was running over 30 minutes later than the end of the stated arrival window so I almost left the house.

Took 2 months to get first appointment, then another to get the second one!! Need a better search of the records for accurate window dimensions! Installer - Jose - was on-time and had replacement window with him. He had two helpers. He did a great job removing and installing new window. Original window had broken seal with moisture between panes. Only thing that wasn't done is that the window was not cleaned for smears and handprints. My husband and I plan to get a ladder so we can reach and clean the window. Bottomline - the installers did a very good job.

Installer was right on time. Took out cloudy slider & replaced it with new window. Slid it back & forth. Took it out of frame & adjusted top left & top right adjusters. Replaced window & left. I cleaned inside of window; partially opened it to clean what I could reach on outside. Closed window. Now I cannot open the window - it absolutely will not budge. Help!

Window frame was coming apart. The problem I had was communication with the office. I began the process on 8-12-19. Someone responded quickly, asked for photos, which I sent, and then was not heard from again. I called the office on 8-27 to see why there was no response and was told they were busy. I suggested letting me know that would have been appropriate. I was was told someone would be at my house on 9-19 between 11 and 1 pm. A pleasant young man arrived today and using a tool fixed the problem in a couple minutes. It was quick and easy.

However, the parts provided to him were incorrect. He checked his truck and found two of the proper parts, and quickly installed them. I tested the repair and he was on his way.

We have 17 year old southern facing Milgard Low E windows that were starting to discolor in between the window panes. We called Milgard and they sent out a representative to look at it. He stated that it was failing and that it is covered under their warranty. About 2 months later another Milgard employee came out and in less than an hour replaced 3 panes with brand new glass. I was very happy with the tech who arrived at my home. He was within the timeframe designated. The part he was given to replace our existing handle was not the correct part. He was able to adjust and found the correct part in his truck and replaced what was necessary. He also took a look at a second Milgard window that I had just started having issues with. Turned out it just needed silicon. It now works well. He was polite and professional.

I am very pleased with Milgard‘s lifetime support for all of our windows and doors. I gave you a four star rating because it took more than two months to get the correct windows to replace the ones that had failed. The first technician that came out incorrectly measured the five windows that had failed. When you brought the new ones out they would not fit and we had to re-order. It took almost 6 months to get windows fixed. I called and they "sent" out parts - called again about 6 weeks later and parts were not actually shipped... got parts and they were wrong. They sent balancers with strings and springs (I had told them the windows were lifted with a small stainless tape). Techs came out and did a great job of replacing defective parts. Plastic stops on bottom of window are broken from window being broken so long, dropping and hitting stops - that kind of sucks.

Our folding window crank always popped off--making it very inconvenient to open and close the window. I called Milgard service and they had me send in photos (twice) and then they sent out a technician. He brought out a new crank which had a metal cog instead of a plastic one and it took about 5 minutes for him to put it on and it worked perfectly. So the service was excellent except for the initial problem getting it authorized. Also, the fix was excellent except that Milgard is still using those plastic cogs and you have to call in and get them replaced when they go bad. That's when you get a good crank with a metal cog connection.

It took over 1 year to replace 14 windows. The installation staff were great, but had to come back 3 times. The first batch of windows had the incorrect color lattice. In the second batch, 2 windows cracked while being installed, so they were remade with tempered glass and installed on the third trip.

I am so sorry to hear about the trouble and delays you experienced. I'm certain that was very frustrating. Window locking adjustment. We live in an old building with the windows so high above the floor we have to stand on a stool to open and close them. Turns out that was the problem - our stool is too short so we were pulling out as well as down. These windows work beautifully. When you pull straight down they lock by themselves! I have older, aluminum windows and the seal had broken on one and some hardware needed to be replaced on two others. Milgard replaced and repaired all 3 windows, no questions asked, even though they're the original windows that were installed when the house was new in 1989. Better yet, it wasn't necessary to take time off work to have the work done! Their technicians are licensed and bonded so I was able to leave them a key and the work was done while I was away.

Warrantied replacement of broken single hung and adjustment. I was very pleased with the work that Jason did on my window today. He replaced the broken vinyl sash in my single hung window in a matter of minutes and was able to address an adjustment of a casement window in the same visit, also taking mirror moments to completely solve the issue. First call was to replace rollers to four sliding doors. 2 men from your Olympia office installed all rollers. Two of the doors slid easily. Two did not. Follow on call by Scott, Tacoma office. Tweaked the frame, as well as the door screw adjustments so that the two doors now work much better. He indicated what the problem was, which appears to be settling of the house that contributed to the hard open/close. Olympia fellows could have fixed problem by tweaking, but did not. So, Scott did, and we are now back to satisfied clients. He did a "super" job of explanation and tweaking.

My 20 year old Milgard Vinyl windows had several seal failures that accumulated over the past ten years or so. The windows function perfectly as they always have but looking through the fogged panes became a nuisance. My Milgard tech. inspected, measured and replaced the bad glazing and now all is well. My Tech was professional, knowledgeable and gave me some good maintenance tips. I love these windows and would recommend Milgard for any project.

Very good and competent work, with efficient representatives sent to do the work. What a nightmare, though, attempting to arrange the job, by telephone or email. No matter the time of day, I couldn't get through and talk with a rep. -- put on hold with an exhausting wait and no success, after numerous tries. My local Milgard dealer had to intervene, then the date and time was finally arranged.

Hello, I'm not completely satisfied with the experience. Why? 1. The price that I pay for my windows/doors I expect a high quality product. 2. Although Ivan was able to get a technician out the next day but it took lots of effort from me to push this through. I also feel that Ivan was in the middle trying his best as well. When it comes to a sliding door, security is #1 concern for any family. 3. I'm waiting now for my bathroom window which was measured wrong by the installer. I hope this doesn't very long to manufacture. I would like to close this Home Improvement project out ASAP.

Updated on 09/26/2019: Still no resolution. The reps just quit replying when you ask for a follow up. Stay away from this company. It has been 3+ months. They offered to provide glass but no install... Doesn't help much esp when it is on the 3rd floor. I didn't notice if any of these reviews were after an issue. That is what you really want to know, how they honor the lifetime warranty.
Original Review: My parents purchased a bay window. The center window lost its seal and is now foggy. We called Milgard to ask them to replace it due to the lifetime warranty. After lots of calls to customer service and emails with photos. Milgard said the would only replace the glass but no labor would be included. (this is on a 3rd story and requires scaffolding) Additionally, we are in N. Minnesota and the customer service rep said they could not service us so we should get someone else to do the work. We found two quotes, choose the cheapest one and submitted the paperwork to Milgard. After weeks waiting and the customer service rep saying she had to talk to the higher ups, Milgard refused to pay for the installation of the Marvin window since it was a not their window...not sure how we could solve the issue since they said the would only supply glass.
Finally, we called and had a very firm conversation with the manager so finally said the customer service person was not used to handling these kind of calls. He would send a rep out to evaluate the situation. We had already ordered the window after Milgard told us to get the quotes since they could not do the work. Milgard came today, 3 months after this started and said they would cover $700, the Marvin window with installation is $2800. Milgard is a large company who did its best to not pay anything. Don't purchase Milgard windows if you want good quality and service. Marvin is a much better choice.

Love the windows. Did have issues with the install but that was the fault of independent contractor not Milgard. However, it took 3 tries to get the correct size screens which is Milgard's fault. However, the customer service on the phone and the field rep at the house were outstanding and made the inconvenience and delay not so frustrating. Brian is very good at his job and we are always pleased with his work. Our only issue is that we make the appointment - give you the measurements and photos so you know exactly what needs to be done. We move all the furniture and give up several hours of our day to be there when he comes. THEN he comes and takes the exact same measurement - leaves and we wait another 5 to 6 weeks for the actual repair and go through the same process once again. That is VERY unfair to us!

Elias arrived on time as scheduled alone. Our replacement window weight is approximately 70 lbs and is six feet off grade outside and 18 inches off floor inside. It was a two person job due to window weight & height from ground. Elias did a remarkable job by himself.

I was very pleased with Milgard's process to replace one of my windows that had failed. I initially filled out a Request for Service form on-line and then followed up with a phone call. The person I spoke with took the measurements, ordered the replacement window, and booked the installment date. Milgard's Service Rep, Armando, arrived and within 20 minutes had replaced the Milgard window that had failed. He was very professional and efficient. I was very pleased with the Milgard warranty and their process for fulfilling the lifetime guarantee.

A lifetime warranty is marvelous. We've been in the house for 18 years so the failure wasn't due to shoddy quality. The installer was very skilled, efficient and friendly. The only hitch was that one of the new windows was defective and we had to schedule another visit.

I'm so glad Milgard has a lifetime warranty on windows, since they seem to fail with some regularity. While it would be terribly inconvenient if the weather were bad and we needed full use of insulation and/or cranks, given that it's a several month process (the first time the workers were sent with incomplete and wrong items on their truck), when they came out the second time today, they were fast and did a good job.

Slight water intrusion on bedroom window when washing. There was some caulking that was missed during install a couple of years ago. Would be easy to overlook. Was tucked back in between panes.. Was an easily identified, easily fixed problem.

The technicians who came out were very knowledgeable and helpful, to the extent they could be. However, there are still remaining issues and they told me they would follow up with Milgard and me to resolve them, but I haven't heard back yet. Specifically, the strips on the sides of our sliding doors are not the correct size and therefore two of them need to be replaced. I am not sure if they are called weather stripping or something else. They are black and run along the outside of the sliding doors. The wrongs size was installed when we initially got the doors. Please follow up with me to resolve.

Robert ** was the technician who came to look at our sticking window. He concluded that although the window was a bit harder to open and close than other windows in our home (including the adjacent window), the window was nevertheless performing acceptably and had the correct spring installed. He felt that installing a looser spring could have an adverse effect on the window and lead to slippage when opened, and he explained that there can be some swelling in vinyl window frames during hot periods especially since this particular window faces directly west. He also recommended that we use silicon spray to counteract the stickiness on hot days. He was very polite and seemed knowledgeable. On balance, although the window does not necessarily perform in an ideal manner, I understand that this condition is not unusual and is something that we will simply have to tolerate when stickiness occurs.

Scratched window frame. I was very well pleased that this matter was finally successfully resolved. You were trying to match silver paint on vinyl frames which I understood became a problem because of the way you all change the formula of your paint. Seems as though you all finally got it figured out. The three men who came today were friendly, courteous and professional. I particularly appreciated the expertise of the man who painted; he seemed to be very knowledgeable and good at what he was doing; wish I could remember his name. Working with Milgard has always been a pleasure. We love our windows and doors. We have had them for years and they still send parts or repairmen to take care of the problem for free. Making an appointment was easy. They gave us a date. Then called a couple days before to remind me and give me a two hour window. Then just as a courtesy call they called to let me know they were about 45 minutes out. They came during the time stated. When they came to the door I was greeted by three friendly men. Even though it took a couple months between the time I filed the request to replace my window and the day it actually got replaced, all in all the process was very smooth and stress-free. I was pleased that at no time did I feel Milgard push back at my request. The only email responses I got back were to gather more info so that they could identify the product correctly. I carried out the entire process online mostly via my iPhone, which made it convenient when I needed to take and upload pictures of the defective window. The the guy finally came out to do the replacement. It took all of ten minutes or less. I'm a huge Milgard fan!

The latch on the new sliding glass door wouldn't operate for some reason. The tech came out and fixed it. He did not arrive at the appointed time (he was early) but he called in advance and made arrangements. He fixed the latch and went on to make the fine adjustments needed for the three point latch. Very happy with the service!

I had bad experience with Milgard with my order delivery. They sent my order in 3 separate deliveries, missed delivery dates and delivered wrong size and one window with scratch on the glass. I had to pay more out of pocket due to these mistakes however Milgard services which was tasked to correct the scratched glass was great in follow up and replacement. This review is for service only. The production and delivery will be 2 stars. I want Milgard to reimburse my costs for their delays and mistakes.

I had 3 windows replaced under my lifetime warranty. Most of the people I worked with were helpful and nice. There was one gentleman that seemed to be in charge of scheduling that wasn't that great to work with. He was very short and seemed annoyed whenever he needed to speak to me. I had to reschedule a window replacement due to medical reasons and I felt bullied a bit when he kept pressing me why I would need to reschedule. I had called when he wasn't available and I had a nice woman help me reschedule. I guess the wrong crew was assigned so he needed to call me back and that is when he was rude.
I finally had to tell him that I was having surgery to get him to stop inquiring why I would need to reschedule in the first place. And this was at least 2 weeks out. It was very odd to me, and I felt uncomfortable. Honestly I was pretty upset after that conversation and I don't know if I would have felt comfortable having to call back for any reason. To get to the point where I have to disclose personal medical reasons? That's not customer service. Me saying "I need to reschedule" should have been enough. The crews that came out to replace my windows were very professional, talented and courteous. Most everyone I dealt with was great. In the end, I am grateful Milgard has such a great warranty and my replaced windows look great.

Servicemen were efficient however debris was left behind requiring cleanup (not a big issue). However the problem with a malfunctioning window not closing and locking was not resolved and remains a problem and I would like for that to be readdressed. It also took several appointments to be resolved as twice incorrect or damaged product was shipped. The service has been better in the past but we remain appreciative of Milgard's willingness to back their product.

Window tech fixed the locking issue. I did not appreciate him putting blame on our contractor and how he made sure to remind me how much it cost to have him come and fix the lock. He made me feel like it was a pain for him to come out and fix our slider. Not very professional to put blame on others.

The tech, Dan, came to my home and is an expert in diagnosing and repairing any issues each time I have contacted Milgard. My windows were installed in 1990 and each and every time I have contacted Milgard Dan has serviced my issues with patience, friendliness and promptness. Had a great experience with Milgard. A large picture window that was installed 14 years ago lost its seal. When I contacted Milgard they were able to locate the original order from the number scanned on the window. They set up a time to replace the window and completed the work on schedule. Called for warranty window replacement for a double pane window that had what appeared to be mold-like stuff growing in between the pane. Was expecting to having to fight and justify for warranty replacement when I called Milgard. Instead the whole experience was hassle free. I called and told them the problem, they scheduled a date/time to come out, and the window pane was replaced in less 20 minutes free of charge.

You two field workers arrived on time and performed a wonderful job. I did notice however, that the replacement wheel set was about 1/2 the diameter as the original set. I expressed my concern, and was told this was the correct replacement set. I do indeed hope that this seemingly undersized wheel set will be able to withstand the weight on my heavy 8 foot door system. Your reps were very careful, and cleaned up once the job was complete. Please confirm that the wheel sets that were provided are indeed the correct replacements for my large door. Thank you. John

I have all Milgard windows in my house and called because I had what appeared to The scratches on the window that look like they were on the outside pane but I cannot feel them. When I called to make the claim, I got the rudest representative I’ve had in many years. It was to the point where she told me I was lying that I had had a window replaced once under warranty with them (only to find that claim subsequently; and never apologized) and that they never told me I had lifetime warranty (even though Milgard and rep during the prior replacement confirmed it).
I asked to speak to the initial call-taker’s supervisor and she basically responded that there’s no need for that because she had already told me the way it is. I did receive a call from a supervisor (name was Gwen I believe) almost one week later and she was apologetic and helpful. In the end, Milgard did make it right by replacing the window. I hope they have fired the original person I talked to, however. Her attitude/behavior was abysmal.

Both times servicemen were pleasant and patient with a difficult latch that is no longer in production. (Took 2 visits to get the right out of production part) Installation was quick for the window and the additional fixing of 2 other window closing and opening mechanism was quick and appreciated. The 2 hour window and pre call of when they would be here is appreciated as well.

They delayed my order by 3 months, missed deliveries multiple times and still made windows that are not fitting well. I reached out several times to the area sales manager, inside sales and the distributor and was bounced around without any information. I would recommend checking out other vendors if you are looking for wood trim windows.

The technician came and adjusted the door. He removed the spacers at the top of the jamb and that made the door operate very easily. Now I just have to get used to not using so much force to open it and it is safer for the kids going in and out.
