The door lock was broken so that I could not lock the door. I did not know there is a life time warranty. It took me one day to remove the lock from the door. But I still could not find the exact lock to replace it. I called the store where I ordered this door. They told me that my door is under warranty and gave me the phone number to call Milgard. I called them and they sent people to fix. It saved me my time and money to fix this lock issue.

I am very pleased with the new windows. However, it took Milgard three tries to provide the correct window for my bathroom. It was ordered as frosted and tempered. First try was frosted and annealed, second try was tempered but not frosted, third try was finally correct. Each time it was a full month before the "next" window was installed. There were no apologies or explanations just, "Whoops," and it will be another month. I also needed two additional filler bars for my octagon window. I finally had to talk to a service manager about that because everyone I talked to said it was round and they didn't make filler bars for round windows. While I think the windows are great the service - not so much.

Great service from the Milgard team from customer service to warranty repair technician. On time and zero bill for both the window replacement AND labor... I love Milgard’s lifetime warranty. We have had our windows for 15 years and I started to notice dust and dirt between the panes on our slider. I called, Scheduled an appointment and now have a new window. The two men that came out were very professional and the job was done in about 30 minutes.

In September 2000 we replaced 18 windows and sliding doors with Classic Series with Low E Glass. Over the past few years we noticed many small brown spots between the glass panes. Two of the windows broke and we had to pay to replace them. My wife did some research on the spotting and found out that the windows "failed" and are covered by the window guarantee. The company was wonderful to work with. All they needed were the window glass measurements and a couple of weeks to remake the windows. The gentlemen arrived and all it took was one hour to replace 8 windows. Friendly, professional and they cared about the quality of their work.

I cannot understand how it can take 3 months to have an order delivered and installed. Once the windows arrived two of them were the wrong window size so it took an additional month to get them delivered and that was on an expedited order. Once the windows were delivered the installers were exceptionally professional and customer friendly.

Milgard replaced 2 windows under warranty 0 charge after 14 years. Milgard for life!!! Very courteous and prompt service always. I will never have anything but Milgard windows. All my neighbors have economy windows and have had numerous replaced over the years and can't believe I pay nothing for Milgard service. Thank you Milgard!

Our initial order was delivered incomplete with amongst of the issues missing screens and a defective window. The defective window which was replaced does not have the custom/special ordered ‘Sand’ color on all surfaces. As such this window needs to be replaced. Please contact me regarding resolution.

We had a bathroom window slider pane break. I emailed a request for a replacement, but after 2 weeks, I called Milgard phone number and within 2 hours I got a call back telling me a person would be here in 2 days to read the order number and measure the window. The repair person come on time and was very polite. He said it would take about 1-2 months to make the window. At 1 month I was called and they scheduled a person to replace the window. It took all of 10 minutes and the repair person was polite, professional, and courteous. He was also meticulous with clean up leaving no trace of broken glass. There was no bill so Milgard's guarantee is valid! Very satisfied customer.

I will always buy Milgard windows because the warranty is excellent. When we needed a window replaced, Milgard came on time, completed the service neatly and professionally, and now everything is working perfectly. I appreciate the high level of customer service and am glad they stand behind their products!

Had Milgard out to service a drafty window, they said the window needed to be replaced. Other came back with a new upper window only - confusing since the bottom was where the draft was coming from. Did not fix issue, they left anyway. Took forever the first time have to imagine this next time will take even longer.

It took 6 months and 2 service calls to fix newly installed windows. Patio door still doesn’t close properly. My customer service person stated that they routinely schedule repair out 3 months! Ridiculous...

Contacted Milgard because there was a double pane seal failure. They scheduled an appointment just a couple weeks out. When the day came the guys were in and out very quickly. The replacement looks great and the guys were careful and tidy.

I built a home 2 years ago and chose Milgard windows from a catalogue at Home Depot because I thought the company was a reputable, quality company and I loved the look of their windows. I have a completely different opinion of the company now, and would NEVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, recommend Milgard! After 2 years of calling Milgard, having my contractor meet with them, having my framer meet with them, having the Milgard window rep for my area come out and access my window problems, after talking to Pam, talking to Cody and 2 different DiAnn's, leaving messages on Cody's and DiAnn's voicemails and not getting called back, after 2 years of having windows that have gaps in them and don't close all the way, after 2 years of higher heating and air conditioning bills because my windows don't close, they continue to ignore the problem.
In fact, the rep in my area gave up! He tried replacing the moving parts and it didn't help because of the poor design of these windows. He told me there was nothing more he could do. These windows are supposed to have a lifetime guarantee. The only guarantee I have experienced is that Milgard could care less. I have no confidence that they will address this issue! I have literally made so many phone calls to the company, that I had to start logging my calls. Milgard in fact told me that they no longer make windows like I have because they have had so many problems and because they are engineered badly, yet, they ignore the problem.

The service was great. We called to have a door fixed, and they quickly responded and set-up an appointment to replace the door. The servicemen were on-time, super friendly and quick. I would recommend to anyone I know.

The window was factory defected, so Milgard horned the warranty by replacing the window at no costs. The installers are very knowledge professionals, they took about less than half hour to replace one window. The only glitch was they were supposed to inform me half hour before their arrival, so I can come home from work to meet them, except, they didn't call me ahead of time. Looks like the communication was lost between appointment desk and the installers.

I can't remember for sure but I think his name was Erin, He arrived on time and was very polite. He seemed to know what he was doing and did a good job. My only complaint is that he opened the blinds when he checked the windows and left the blinds open which I discovered the following morning. Also he left lots of dirt in the track of the slider and on the porch outside. This was the most annoying of all. Not a good reflection on Milgard.

Although each time I call everyone has been gracious and polite nothing gets done. I had a window break last Oct. and I am still waiting for you to get "the right size" replacement. I am now told my window will be shipped May 10th. Twice you have sent the wrong size. I am told it is a standard size. What is the problem. This is beyond ridiculous.

It took about 9 months to get my window fixed. I first contacted Milgard in August of 2017 to schedule an appointment and the first available appointment would be in October. At the that service appointment I was told that the new window panel would have to be ordered even though it was just the opening crank that was not working. I was told that I would be contacted when it arrived to re-sched. When I wasn't contacted in February, I called and got a new service date for 6 weeks later. The morning of that service date, Milgard called to say they didn't have the window panel yet. I had to re-sched for 6 more weeks later! The service guys were great and the window is great now, but this should not have taken so long! I will not use Milgard windows in the future.

Service people were polite, knowledgeable, efficient and replaced the windows with a minimum amount of disturbance. It did take five (5) months to accomplish this task; however, overall, it was a good experience. Thank you.

We purchased Milgard windows from a local distributor and were surprised when 3 of the 5 windows had to be replaced because of seal failure and fingerprints on the inside of the windows. However, whatever failure the manufacturing and quality control has, the installers were great. I appreciate the courtesy and efficiency the showed.

My French doors leaked during a heavy rain storm. Milgard placed weather stripping and rubber guards on the doors to prevent further leaking. The workers were friendly, knowledgeable and on time. Hopefully this will do the trick.

We have Milgard Tuscany windows, all double paned - and as we know, they do become fogged after a while... It's not a matter of if any brand of double paned windows get fogged, it's a matter of when. One simple call to their main 800 # was all it took. We supplied all the numbers from the affected windows, a date was scheduled, we got a reminder call just like they promised 2 days before, and a call 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Their workman slipped on paper booties over his work boots, draped the area, popped the old ones out, the new ones in and he was gone in no time. It was a thing of beauty.

Sergei called about an hour before he was due to be here to let me know he was running ahead of time and could come at once if I preferred; I thanked him, and said please come now. He was prompt, professional, courteous and friendly. He explained what he was doing during the replacement, and when finished he took a look to see if any other windows might have a problem. He was very proficient, thanked me for having Milgard windows and for being flexible so he could come early. Not sure of my order number. Jaime was my technician. He kept me in the loop about arrival time, etc. He was very professional. Did the repairs quickly and perfectly. Only thing I didn't like is the amount of time it takes to get a tech to come out. It was close to 2 months from start to finish.

Service rep was courteous and very efficient and called ahead to let us know his arrival. It was within the time scheduled. He completed the service quickly and left the area clean. We were very satisfied with the service. It was scheduled months later than I expected from the original problem in the fall of 2017 when not enough glass panes were installed and more defective windows found.

We had windows replaced that were no Ionger holding the seal. They came once to replace and the guy noticed that two of the windows were scratched so he told us he would need to return and they did. We are very happy with the whole process.

I had Milgard windows for several years and found the outside pane of a dual pane window in my kitchen. I called and it took a few weeks for the service call but when the repair man arrived he was very polite and efficient and the replacement was done in a matter of minutes. I am extremely happy with the service I received from Milgard and would recommend their windows to anyone in need.

Milgard has been good in the past with their warranty service. This time, it took weeks for a tech to come out to measure the failed window, then literally 3+ months for them to come out with the replacement window. The guy couldn't replace it on his own. He called two other guys and he left. They had to break out the old window, apparently not their fault, but this left broken glass and silicone bits. I had to vacuum it up from living room and outside. Otherwise I am glad they stand behind their premium windows with a lifetime guarantee.

I want to Say that Don was wonderful. He showed up on time to inspect the windows with the failed seals and found an additional one that needed replaced. We got replacement scheduled and he was back to do the install. Once again on time and was in and out very quickly. Great job and windows look beautiful!

After almost 15 years, I needed to have a very large window replaced due to dust getting in between the panes. From finding out if this was under warranty (it was!) to ordering the window to keeping in touch as to when the delivery would take place I was kept in the loop punctually and with kindness. The men who arrived to replace the window did an excellent job and were very careful of my property. Dealing with Milgard was a pleasure.

I was very pleased by the quick response and repair from Milgard. I noticed that one of my new windows had an air leak which caused mildew between the window panes. I called Milgard and they confirmed my warranty and had a person out to repair in less than a month. The window is very large, so it took a 2 person team to replace. Which is why the extra time needed for the repair. They came in fast and clean. Job was completed in less than 2 hours.

Bradon and his assistant were by far the best repair team that has come to our residence. In the past, the guys seemed in a hurry and left things unfinished or carelessly done. Service techs left rubble on my window cells and on my floors. They should have handheld vacuums (remember the dust busters?) to clean up. This service call was not my fault. It was due to faulty windows from your factory. I should not have to do extra work, cleaning up after your staff, because you made bad windows that needed to be replaced.

I thought the lock to my sliding glass door was broken. It wasn’t. The repairman took one look and knew exactly what the issue was. There wasn’t anything wrong with the lock. When the door was installed in 2004 two screws were not installed that should have been. For 14 years it wasn’t an issue but it had become one. Anyway the screws were installed and all is good!

Original request dated 2/15/18. Property is located at **. This is a general comment which happens consistently among virtually all vendors and service folks. They insist on speaking Spanish among themselves although they speak good English when they speak to me. This is rude. Work was okay. Yeah, I am an older ** guy. It is possible that folks who do this do not mean any disrespect, but when confronted they feel I am being racist and are unable to understand my problem. What do you think?

Alex and Nick were very professional and conscientious in installing our windows. They were focused on the job at hand, did a great job on cleanup, and answered the many questions we posed. They are both definitely an asset to Milgard. My only complaint about Milgard is dealing with the appointment team in scheduling a TIMELY install. In the past it's taken months to get in their queue.

I had a HORRIBLE sound and difficulty sliding the door both opening and closing. Two gentlemen from Milgard came. They had all the correct tools. They took off the door and not very long after, the whole thing was fixed. It works better than when we first bought it (almost 20 years ago). Thanks so much. They were timely, did neat work, and finally, fixed the problem.

The process of having the subject work completed took way too many months. The recent install was done by two experienced workers who were careful & professional. There were two pieces missing which we were told would be sent to us. We have not yet received these items.

Replacement handles: It has taken months--although I supplied picture. They did not ask for the actual handle, so I did not one. A service arrived after months--he took my old handle and exclaimed that it could have been mailed--I am still waiting.

Simi Valley Office - It’s now April 25, 2018 and we are getting no resolution from Milgard. PROBLEMS; Fiberglass exterior door threshold cracking at unsupported top layer of threshold, stripped hinge adjustment screw, stripped strike plate screw and nut. Servicemen came and took pictures of the cracked threshold on 3/8/18. Photo didn’t make it to supervisor Paul ** until sometime after 4/2/18. During that service call, it was also determined that the best time to take care of the stripped screws and nut would be when the threshold is replaced.
After leaving many messages on Supervisors; Paul ** and Catherine ** answering machine, with no returned calls, I thought I’d try emailing social@milgard.com direct before emailing the company president, and, posting my complaint on the forums in an effort to work with them before blasting them all over social media. I did receive a voice message from Catherine ** on Friday 4/20/2018 4:27PM (just before I was going to post all over social media) asking me to call her. I‘ve called four times since she left that message. Still haven’t heard back from her. Since supervisors Catherine **, and Paul ** didn’t return my calls, before the social media threat, I had spoken with customer service agents; Greg, Marlie, Megan, Ana, and Brandon, just trying to find out anything!
My last conversation was with customer service agent Brandon, Friday, April 13. He said that he had to pull Paul ** out of a meeting in-order to get an answer about my threshold. Brandon returned to tell me that Paul says, “the problem was an installation error, or something to that nature, and to contact the dealer.” I installed the door. I am a Licensed, Bonded, and Insured General Contractor. I have over 40 years experience in the trades, specifically, 23 years as a Journeyman Millwright and Cabinet Maker. I have manufactured, and installed, countless doors and windows throughout the length of my career. My work is precise and my opening is plumb and true.
There is an obvious design error in my fiberglass threshold. The cause is quite simple; there is no support in-between the fiberglass layers at the Strike Plate due to the weep channel. The cause of the cracking is obvious! If there isn't any support in that area, and it flexes as much as it is while there is a tapered strike pressing against the edge of a strike plate trying to compress weather stripping, it's going to crack and or break. Which it has. I went over this with service technician Greg ** during a phone conversation on March 9th and he agreed that it was the logical conclusion as to how the crack occurred.
I’ve read a lot of the Milgard complaints on consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/milgard.html website, and also, **. THERE’S AN OBVIOUS PATTERN HERE. 1- There is always text next to the rating saying, “RESOLUTION IN PROGRESS”. From what I’ve read, there's always a, "Resolution in Progress" next to the review and complaints always receive an apology from the moderator and for the poster to send their complaint to social@milgard.com. WHICH I TRIED FIRST. Yet, more often than not, the posters that do update their complaint say that they are not getting any response and their update is worse than ever. That’s, if they updated their post at all.
At this point, and after reading so many negative reviews regarding warranty support, I have little faith Milgard will do anything regarding the problem, let alone return a phone call. I hope to update and change my review to include a positive result, but, if I don’t hear back soon I’ll send this email to a few more in the Milgard hierarchy including; Ms. Joann **, Marketing Manager, Mr. Gilberto **, Manager, Mr. Dan **, Mr. Jeff **, General Manager, Mr. Bill **, Service Manager,Ms. Kim **, Service Manager, Mr. Dean **, General Manager, Mr. Vishal Singh, Owner/President, Mr. Jim Sweeny.

The service guys were super nice and did a great job with the window. However, that evening I noticed there were tiny pieces of glass all over my bedroom floor and on my staircase that had not been cleaned up. Luckily I noticed it before any of us walked barefoot through the area.

The process of replacing our windows was way too slow. It took many months (eight months I think) for Milgard to schedule their people to come out to our house. The positive was that the technicians that came out were great. Once the process got to the finish line, they were on time and quick in installing new windows.

My wife reported that the repair guy was prompt, polite and completed the job with a warning not to push on the glass for 24 hours while the silicone seal set. Next day I noticed old silicone and paint chips outside the window and hardened gobs of silicone inside the window. I'm sure I can remove those with a knife or razor, but I feel like I shouldn't have to do that. Nor should I have to clean up after. The window seems fine otherwise.

Over a 10 year period we had basically a 100% failure rate on our windows. This is identical to both neighbors on each side of our house (same home builder, same windows). This wouldn't be a completely terrible experience except now they are denying warranty claims because our house was "built" in 2007, but was listed as a model for a few years before we purchased it, because there was a delay between the build and purchase date, they are claiming I'm not the "original homeowner." They also stated random and irrelevant loopholes like "the builder probably left the house without heat."

We are so pleased with the way Milgard handled our 3 windows that had gotten damaged over time, looking fuzzy... couldn't clean from inside or out, as the damage was inside the window. Jesse was our service person, and he was so fast and efficient we were blown away. He came in, introduced himself and got to work. He wasn't here more than 30 minutes, and within that time, he replaced the parts that needed to be replaced, and then he was finished. Our windows look brand new, and we are so pleased. We would recommend Milgard to everyone, and we want the company to know how fast and efficient Jesse, the repairman was. Thank you... so much.

I had a stationary section of my window loose its seal and fog up. Milgard covered the repair, new window, and was free of charge with 100% warranty. From the time the claim was put in until the work was done was only a few weeks. The repair was done very well and required no further "touch up" of anything after the new window was installed. I would highly recommend Milgard to anyone purchasing windows.

Disappointed in the Denver service department. The first service agent I was told to contact never returned my calls. The second service agent did however. The second agent got the parts I needed to fix my poorly operating windows shipped to me and the local service man installed the parts and the windows seem to be working well now.
At one point I was informed that the Denver location was not in operation due to some upgrade or problem. It would have probably speed up the unreasonable time it took to get my windows "right" if someone had told me or worked it initially through a area office that was in operation. I've heard that the original person in Denver that I made calls to has been let go - Thank God but it would have been nice if who ever takes his place would follow-up with customers. Please note this does not apply to the second service rep. that I talked to - he got things taken care of in a reasonable period of time. Someone at Milgard should look at whoever originally put my windows together and make sure they are properly trained and test the windows before they are shipped. This would have saved a whole bunch of problems for me and my contractor.

Third time in about a year and a half same windows leaking. Windows installed about a year before first leaks observed. Technician seems competent and appears to take care of one problem, but leaks occur again in same windows. Third case number created about a month ago, but no further contact from company. As with past case numbers, customer needs to contact the company more than once each case to get any further response beyond creation of case number.

For the most part the project went well. The quality of the workmanship is why we came back to Puget Sound Windows and Doors. The Slider and the main picture window are perfect. One of the two doors we had installed works perfect. The other one does not work smoothly and catches when you attempt to open it. We had the Milgard Technician come out to fix it and he said really there was nothing they could do as it was adjusted as far as it would adjust. This one door is a disappointment. Everything else was great.

I was pleasantly surprise when I call Milgard for replacement windows because 4 windows had lost their seal and were fogging. A tech showed up, measured, and returned a few weeks later with the proper windows, installed them and left. The tech was excellent. He knew his product. He knew how to install the windows. Window and sliding glass door needed adjusting. Winston our technician who came out was very courteous and was helpful in explaining how the windows adjustments worked and how to keep our windows working like new. The person I talked to for service over the phone was somewhat of a jerk because he at first insisted that adjustments were the home owner's responsibility.

From the time I requested service in a window I had to wait just shy of four months for the service to be completed. Nobody at Milgard was willing to take care of me. Purchasing Milgard windows for my new home was the biggest mistake we made with the home.

Love the products, Main office service people are nice and very helpful. However people who actually doing the installation/repair skills is very poor. Example: We have one window was fogged and based on product warranty, Milgard honor the replacement. However it takes 5 different tech came at different time to fix the window. 3 out of five: They brought wrong side window panel so need to come back for the right size. 2 out of five: Since it on second floor window. There is no way to climb up to replace the window (????). Again, even We love the products but We will never purchase Milgard after We went thru this type of service from the Tech.

The on-site work was excellent - competent, smart, friendly and well-done. Even though other jobs delayed our job by half a day, the team worked very hard and supervisors shifted other work so they could come back and finish within 2 days. My only concern is that it took a long time from our first report of the problem to get repairs done.

I had 4 windows replaced, had to wait months before they could come out, but they did a great job. One recommendation I might have is that Milgard invest in e-cloths for cleaning the windows after they are installed. The young man had paper towels and spray, used plenty of paper towels, but they leave a residue of fuzz. One of the windows is on the second floor, so I asked if he could use my e-cloth window cleaning cloths and they came out sparkling with no residue. They last forever and probably would end up saving Milgard $ for spray and paper towels. www.ecloth.com I use it on mirrors, computer screens also.

Improvement needed in the area of customer engagement. Long lead time for inspecting warranty work, inspector not informed regarding solutions, customer and managers need to improve in customer follow up, scheduling commitments/ follow through need improvement, working crew showed up and decided they couldn’t complete the job so window replacements were decided upon, working crew took a week to turn in order form, still no follow up as to when the windows will be delivered. Finally, 3 months later and now that the windows will be replaced, I have to tear out all the new remodeled window trim and casings. This could have been avoided with timely communications. Lastly, I have to pay to have the labor install my replacements.

Had to wait about 3+ months for the installation. However, Millard was organized & everything went off according to the scheduled date. There were some confusion on the time window though. The first phone call indicated they would be here a little earlier and then they arrived about 45 min later. Had to coordinate with my handyman who needed to put shutters back in place.

The repairman was on time and very pleasant but most important he knew how to complete the job. He completely removed the window fixed leak recaulked the window and was gone in less than 30 minutes. I got a call stating they would arrive, but it was 2 hours earlier that original email. They nicely went on another call and came back to my house within the original stated time frame. Pleasant and friendly workers and the window went in without a hitch. I had explained to them that the room was recently painted and to be extra careful with the area. After they left, I went upstairs to check the window and there was a ding on the window sill with a small paint chip on the floor. I would have appreciated them letting me know this happened; to leave without that explanation was a bit unprofessional and irresponsible.

I had a sliding glass door that moisture had gotten into. I called and they sent 2 technicians out to the house. They looked at the window went out to the truck and brought in a new piece of glass. They took the door outside, took it apart and replaced the glass in about 25 minutes. They did a great job on cleaning the glass. too.

In 1999 we had our windows replaced with double pane and our contractor recommended Milgard windows and the promise to replace if there was ever a problem with them. So we chose Milgard and are pleased after all this time they remained true to their promise. On April 13th a representative came out and replaced two panes that had lost their seal. I have at least 5 windows in my home that have failed. They have a white film on the inside and every few months a new one will fail. I walked my neighborhood and every single house has the same issue. I called Milgard and they say my Warranty is expired, I asked them what the lifetime warranty on their website means then? They say I am out of luck and I have to pay to replace all these windows!!!

I had an issue with a Milgard patio door. The screen part of the door would not operate properly. I called Milgard and they wanted me to troubleshoot, so I did. Did not work. I called back and they sent me to a video, which I watched and again attempted to do what the video said, which happened to be the same thing I had already done. I am a good sport so I tried again. It did not work. I called and they said they would send a new screen to their local service rep and I would hear from them in about 10 days.
This is where it got very frustrating. Several weeks later I called and left a message on the customer service voicemail, no response. I called the following week and left another message, no response. The following week, I finally got somebody and they said yeah it shipped but we can’t track it. So we will figure out what happened and call you back later in the day. No call back. I called two days later and they said they would ship a new one and service rep would contact me and install on a specific date. They also said they would send me an email with the contact info for service company... Never did. The install was three weeks away. So now we are several months from the initial service call.
I called the week of the schedule service call and spoke to lady who was not so friendly. Explained the story and just wanted to confirm the service call. She told me I had talked to new people and that I must be wrong about the lack of returned calls (I was not) and she does not know why any emails did not go out and could not tell me what happened. Service rep ended up showing up with the screen door. Installed in about three minutes. Then he measured the other door (not sure why he would do this, unless it is a regular issue) and said "yep, the door they shipped you was almost an inch too tall." If they would have just sent me the door two months ago I could have installed it and enjoyed the spring weather. Very disappointing.

Two of the Milgard French doors had defects when installed. They set and emailed me a service date and time without talking to me. When I called them a months before the service date, they told me they come to Stevenson Ranch, CA only on Thursdays. Even when I told them I have to go to work Thursdays and I have no one to stay home it did not matter to them. They gave me a take it or leave it attitude. I said, "Ok I will ask my neighbors if they could stay for me." I couldn’t get my neighbors to help me out so I requested off from work for that day and stayed home. Nobody called me nobody showed up to fix the defected doors. So I called Milgard just to be told that the service date has been changed to another day. The worst part of it is they told me that I am the one who called and changed it. Which I did not do. Again it is another Thursday or no service at all. One of the worst customer service experience I ever had.

I had a fogged window replaced that went bad before the house was finished. The process of getting it done and the lack of knowledge of the office staff is poor, time from request until installation was 7 months and they would try to schedule on a day of pouring down rain to replace a window that is 5' x 7' and with a 12 hour notice for me. Also they wanted a number that was supposed to be in the upper corner, I searched but could not find anything. I told them I had the original paperwork as I am the contractor, they didn't want that. They scheduled a technician to come out on Dec.26, what is the likelihood I would be there on that date. When he did finally come out he said OH it is a curved top window, they don't have the number in the corner, yet they refused the original order I offered with all the info. I wanted to give 2.5 stars because the field technician deserves a 5 and the rest of the operation deserves zero.

I reported a problem with the slider screen door to my distributor. The appointment for a rep was scheduled for a month and a half later. No one called to confirm or to even ask what the problem was. I am a contractor and this was for a rental house so I was kind of put out that it was scheduled so far out. The rep came out and was very nice, helped eliminate the problem, and we were done. The problem turned out to be a very minor adjustment that could have been handled over the phone had someone decided to call and talk to me.

Since 1994, I have replaced most all of my windows and doors with Milgard products. My beach cottage was built in 1911, so it was a big decision to change out the old wood windows. However, I am completely satisfied with the products and service from Milgard. I have only had two windows fail and one hardware issue. Milgard promptly honored their lifetime warranty. The service technicians have been on time, courteous and they have always cleaned up perfectly. I would recommend Milgard to anyone.

Requested for a technician to come out and see why my window seal was leaking water when it would rain sideways on my window and two other windows were hazy like moisture was between the glasses. Technician didn’t come till almost 5pm and when he showed up it wasn’t raining and hadn’t rained for a few days. He told me that the windows were made not to leak and that it was impossible for them to leak. He also told me that the haze between the glasses was due to the roof leaking, when there’s no evidence to support his accusations. He didn’t even inspect the window seal and said there was nothing he could do and left without doing anything.
I waited a month for a technician to come out and he did absolutely nothing and my windows are still hazy and I’ve had to put tape over the outside of the window frame to keep it from leaking. In my opinion the technician seemed to be at the end of his shift and just wanted to go home and didn’t want to investigate the issue. I wouldn’t recommend Milgard to anyone.

The first worker who came out to see my window solved 1 of the 2 problems and wrote it up to solve the 2nd. He warned me that the office was not very on top of things and I should follow up a certain day with a call. Then he quit working for them. Either he never turned in the work order or they lost it. The second group of workers came out to evaluate the problem and write up an order for a replacement. All these guys had been telling me the office would call and update me. Updates came via email or not at all except for 1 confirmation call that the first work order had not been located, after I inquired. The final product was perfect, and I'm thankful for it, but I really did have to advocate for myself and keep tabs on things.

Milgard was very prompt in answering my email about 3 windows that had problems - one with moisture and the other two with fogging. A service person came out to assess the issues and in a short time I had a delivery date for the replacements. The installer arrival very promptly at 8 a.m and within 45 minutes to an hour all replacements had been installed. He was very knowledgeable about what he was doing and left everything in neat order. I commend Milgard for standing by their products. I wouldn't have any other windows but Milgard and have recommended their product to friends and family.

I give their service group a single star, but after six attempts to replace a simple fixed pane of a window, I would prefer giving them a -5. I requested a service request from the Milgard website for a fixed pane that was shattered. The appointment took approximately 6 weeks from request date. Milgard emailed me a couple days before and included the service tech info and a two hour window. The day before the appointment Milgard called and revised the two hours for the service tech arrival. Service tech was fast and efficient but they made the wrong window to fit into the fixed pane. That was in October of 2017. The service tech assured me that he would note the correct replacement pane and I could call and reschedule the install, another two months another service tech another wrong window.
The third time I called to confirm the replacement window being manufactured at the Simi Valley location. The Milgard rep assured me that they have the original order of the Essence window and have made it correctly this, the third time. "Okay great", I say, "but this is the third time, you understand why I would like some proof, like a picture or someone actually looking at the order before scheduling a service tech", and before I have to stay home from work. That was in Jan 2018, Milgard has made two more attempts, except the last two attempts are not cancelled until the appointment time is reached. So they called me and apologize and give no real reason why it could take Six times to make the correct window.
I asked to speak with a manager, and received, "Oh she is not available but you can leave a VM." I leave a voice mail and suggest they come take the bad pane out, bring it to the factory and use it as a guide to make the new one. I received no reply, I call again, funny no manager is available, but you can leave a VM. This is mad, how can you run a business when none of the workers have any accountability?

Jim, the Milgard installer, was professional, prompt, and amazing. He answered all our questions and did a fantastic job installing new glass on 3 out of the 7 recently purchased Milgard awning windows. His service was outstanding. We love our Milgard windows, but must admit that your lifetime warranty covering limited or specific things on the Ultra series windows needs to be reevaluated. If a baseball shatters an Ultra window, Milgard will replace it for free, no questions asked and that's a terrific warranty to have. That's why we also wanted to invest in Milgard windows and their fantastic product. However, if scratches appear on the glass due to the environment, weather related or by an unknown cause, this is not covered.
Our 7 Milgard windows were brand new-only 5 months old - and we didn't know if this was a defect in the glass or not. We were completely honest when contacting Milgard about just finding the damage to 3 scratched windows and stated we did not know how the scratches got there. Upon first inspection and after unboxing the windows, the scratches were not visible. A Milgard supervisor at the company's main office told us they would not cover this damage though they did offer us a 50% discount. The cost was $700 to replace the 3 glass panels on our new standard bathroom windows due to the scratches. We wanted beautiful windows again so we paid the $700 bill. Milgard's warranty should cover damages such as this - without the customer searching for a baseball. Thank you for understanding our position - we still love our Milgard windows!

Then said they had called, the phone line was busy. They did not follow up on the time and did not leave a message on our phone. No clean up after the new window was installed. How pathetic.

I called back and the service tech told me they had 3 hinges, I could pick them up. I went down 3 days later and no hinges were found, the tech had failed to reserve them under my name. The service tech at the warehouse told me she could order them. So we did. That was now over a week ago, still no hinges. So while I will be calling again to find out about my hinges, I am frustrated with my doors & service.

I was having a problem with the sliding glass door and could not get a hold of the contractor that installed my Milgard windows and door. He has disappeared because after many weeks of messages still no response. I called your company and discovered that Tom ** the contractor never registered my Milgard purchase and the lady was extremely kind and registered them for me. She informed that I have a guarantee and they sent out your employees.
When they arrived they told me that my door was not a Milgard door and they checked 3 windows on the first floor and told me they were Milgards. So I guess the contractor did not sell me all Milguard products just the windows. I have a 2 story home with 5 bedrooms, living room, kitchen and 3 bathrooms and bought all of these windows and of course the back sliding door. I guess I got duped and still have problems with that door where the runner on the bottom is broken and the lock doesn't work any longer. Your employees couldn't tell me what brand it is and I have to find somebody else now to see if I can have it fixed. FYI your windows are beautiful and I have had no problems with them. I had some difficulty at first getting help, but Dennis at Contractors Window Design, became my best help. He put me in touch with someone in Denver who scheduled a date for the repair work to be done. I was to receive a phone call to confirm the date. No call came so I called back, and was told that it was not on the calendar, and I was given another date. The repair tech came as scheduled but didn't have the correct window replacement part. He said that it would be coming at a later date. I received a call when that was to be scheduled and the tech (different one) did come with the correct part and replaced the window. We love it. I had attempted to replace a worn out seal myself but found the project beyond my skill level and tools. Milgard sent out two friendly and experienced craftsmen. The door was heavy and the seal was screwed and glued in place. They were able to remove and replace the old seal without difficulty. They also adjusted the door so it locks easily. It is better than new. I am very grateful for the help and completely satisfied with Milgard’s care and concern.

Needed to replace three stationary windows that experienced water seepage into the dwelling. Appointment was kept perfectly. Work done quickly and with very little mess. My only complaint was that some of the trim pieces got dented in the process of removing them before the removal of the old windows. The trim pieces themselves had scale on them from the water leakage. They were not replaced, and together with the fact they were dented during the job, I believe they should by all accounts have been replaced as well. Attached photos were taken before the job, but show the scale on the trim.

The serviceman came at the promised time. He came right in and double checked the size of the window, went out to his truck to get the replacement window and had it install with no fuss or muss in 10 minutes. Not only was I impressed with the serviceman but so impressed with Milgard for replacing our window that was 13 years old with no charge and no strings attached. So impressed with the company!! My installer contacted Milgard and got assurance they would come to my house and take care of correcting my poor closing and locking Milgard window. Milgard verified that to me by phone. Milgard then changed its position to blame of the installer. The end result is that my lifetime warrant Milgard window doesn't work properly and they are not fixing it.

We purchased a patio sliding door because we were told that Milgard offered a great product. We decided that this was going to be an investment in our home. So we thought long and hard about upgrading and wanted more of the bells and whistles included in our purchase. By that I mean we purchased the slider with the mini blinds in between the glass and we upgraded to the automatic closing screen door. That was the worst mistake. Both functions have failed!
So you ask what is the problem? Well, the screen door was a nightmare to operate from the beginning. We placed a call and had your representative come out only to tell us that is was not covered or warranted through Milgard. Odd, right? Since we were lead to believe that Milgard offered lifetime warranties on their products. Not so, and very misleading. Milgard told us we would have to pay out of pocket if we wanted to install a regular screen door. We purchased the item through Home Depot and they were not willing to meet us half-way or offer any type of discount yet they did not have one on the floor to test the functionality of the auto closing screen door.
Also, the track is now cracked and we rarely use this door nor do we have any children. We are two senior adults and if this is a true picture of Milgard quality I will be sure to let our community know. Now, just to add more misery from Milgard the mini blind mechanism is malfunctioning too. What is up with your products? At this point, we are completely dissatisfied with Milgard and I hope that Milgard plans on making this right. If not I will be taking this up with our Visa insurance policy. I hope to hear from Milgard within the next 24 hours. Thank you.

The finish on one of my windows failed. It took some calling in the beginning to get started. The first guy who came out didn't have the right size window with him. From the first call to the finish took about two months. It didn't take long to put in the new window so all ended well. The window was under warranty, so no cost to me.

It took one year to have rubber gaskets replaced after they snapped off the window crank within 6 months of installation. I made over 20 phone calls and at least 7 appointments were cancelled by Milgard. Service after the sale is non-existent. The repair person that was eventually scheduled was very professional and efficient.

This was the third and I presume final visit Milgard service did to replace failed double pane double hung Ultra windows on west facing exposures at our home near Ocean Beach in San Francisco. The reason I say presume is that ones that had previously been replaced up to perhaps 3 years ago are working great and none of our other exposures have had any failures in what is now 13 years I believe. Great work, quickly done, arrived on time, educated me about the windows and how to maintain them. We love these windows and service has always been top notch. While the installers were great, the main office did not order all the windows that I had called them about. Now, I will be forced to go through this process again because I still need to get two of the windows replaced. We had our Milgard windows installed in 2002 and have been so pleased with the windows and extra pleased with Milgard as a company. We have had several window panes replaced for free as part of the lifetime warranty as long as we owned the house. It is unfortunate the seals failed, but Milgard has been wonderful about replacing panes when required. We would definitely buy Milgard products in the future. In addition, my original order was for three panes to be replaced and less than a week before the installer was scheduled to come out, I added a fourth pane and they were able to accommodate the last minute update. The warranty replacement process is very lengthy and frustrating. 6-8 weeks between each phase of the warranty process. 6 weeks to get a tech to come out and look at the problem; another 6 weeks to schedule the appointment, another 6 weeks to get the technician out to do the work. Oh yes, if it is pouring rain they plan to remove the windows without putting plastic over the window holes, or on the floor, so it was another 6 weeks. The process took 6 months from start to finish. If you complain, they leave and it is another 6-8 weeks to get them back out. We had 4 out of 7 windows leak and discolor to the point where you could not see out of them.

The 2 - 3'x 6'-8'' panes of glass that were replaced was in a wood framed opening. The warranty person from Milgard took the wood jambs apart and replaced the 2 panes of glass with new ones. He didn't replace the wood jambs to apply pressure to the glass to seat the glass to the caulking. 1 window didn't seal at all, so I removed this window and cleaned all of the caulking from the jamb and areas of the glass then reset the pane of glass into the opening then installed the jamb to apply pressure to the glass. The person from Milgard warranty should have put the wood jambs back into place to apply pressure to the caulking and at least try to put the windows back together like they were before he started the work. I spent 3 hours on 1 window and will need to finish putting together the other window as it was before he took them apart. The owner was not happy with the performance that they received.

We had Milgard Windows installed in our home in April of 2000. A couple of months ago our window washer noticed that a few of the windows were slightly fogged up indicating that the seal between the panes of glass were leaking. We contacted Milgard and explained the problem. They sent out a Milgard representative and he agreed and ordered replacement glass for those windows. A few weeks later Milgard came out and did all the replacements. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the company and the quality of the install work. Furthermore, I was really impressed with the fact that they honored their lifetime warranty and made good on their word. A very hassle free experience. I will continue to recommend Milgard windows to anyone who wants my opinion on replacement windows or windows in general.

After five years, we had an inside pane crack for no obvious reason. I went o the Milgard website and tuned in a service order. I quickly received a response and a date for the service techs to come to our house. The wait was very reasonable. The techs called to confirm a few days ahead and on the day, they were actually early. They quickly fixed the window, cleaned up very well and were gone in less than 20 minutes. They could not have been more professional.

Began calling in Feb for warranty work. First we were asked to measure and take pictures of the several windows that need work, then we were told they needed to send a tech out to measure. Tech showed up March 8th, we were told by him, it would be three to four weeks. It is now April, I called today, and they don't even have the work order from the tech. No idea when the work will be done. However, when I contacted them to put all new windows and sliding doors in my home, they were out within a week.

The reason the window was replaced the glass had fingerprints inside the duel pane. The representative that replaced the window said, this was the first time they have seen this and it only took less than 15 minutes to change out the glass. We have had this garden window in place since 1983. It is dual pane and this is the second time the front pane has had to be replaced due to moisture build up between the two panes. I replaced all the windows in my home. Upon installation three did not properly fit. Milgard had to come out and admitted they were the wrong size. Milgard re-measured and we waited another 6 weeks for 3 replacement windows. They arrived. None of them fit. The installer then re-measured, we re-ordered and we waited another 6 weeks. Then 6 weeks later at the appointment time (already had taken off work and Milgard had confirmed appt) we were contacted at the time Milgard should have arrived to learn the windows were not ready. We waited another week or so. The 3 windows arrived. None of them fit, again. The installer (same guy who measured them) then spent over an hour "making" them fit by shaving down the frames as we both knew that if he measured them a 3 third time they would again arrive the wrong size. Incredibly disappointing for such a high-cost window. Would not recommend.

The guys came, squirted water on the dining room glass window, decided it was not leaking anymore after caulking between the sash and frame. I did not spend thousands of dollars to have a leaky window temporarily fixed!!! The sash needs to be replaced or reset. Attempts to handle this over the phone are difficult when no one returns my calls.

Milgard changed their support organizations for warranty work. Before it was effective. Now, the communications are nearly non existent, and nothing ever happened as it said it would. I was told numerous times that I would be called for the warranty work and it never happened. I provided all of the materials requested by them and over 6 months later got a call from a contractor asking what I needed. I sent numerous emails asking for a supervisor to contact me and it never happened. I finally sent an email asking for management to contact me - never heard anything. While the product is good, the attitude, communications, responsiveness and professionalism of the staff is unsatisfactory. I would question buying more products from Milgard given the recent warranty support. If they are interested and care about customer satisfaction, they can contact me. But, I'm not holding my breath.

We installed Milgard Vinyl windows in our sunroom 15 years ago during construction and in the time since some have experienced some seal failures resulting in "fogging" of the windows. Milgard was exceptionally responsive in honoring their lifetime warranty, their technicians were on time, friendly and professional. I have recently seen and installation of Milgard replacement windows in another home which were clad wood. I was impressed with their style and quality! If I were to replace the non-Milgard windows in my home I'd look at Milgard's products before others - especially in view of how well they have stood behind the windows that I purchased 15 years ago!

We had installed our Milgard windows about 11 years ago. Over the past few years, two of them developed cloudiness or spots between the panes and needed replacement. I love the windows, but the ordering process and replacement left much to be desired. It took over 4 months to get them replaced. We had installed Milgard windows to our home about 18 years ago. Three years ago, some of our windows panels started to discolor, which caused fogginess to the windows. Since Milgard had given us warranty for as long as we live in our house, we contacted the company. 2/15/2018 I had a Milgard Tuscany French Rail Patio Door installed by Preferred Glass of Santa Clarita. When the installation was complete I was showed by installer that the door would not close and lock because the panel was bowed. Preferred Glass installer Auotro showed me if I put my hand in between the two panels and pull out while closing door it would close all the way and I could lock it. But I was to be sure to pull my hand out right before it closed so I wouldn't smash my fingers??? Milgard called me at the end of the day and said they would send repairman on 2/20/2018.
2/20/2018 Repairman Hector came and tried to bend the panel back but he made it worst. He tried to show me the same procedure how I could close and lock door by pulling panels apart and closing at same time but to be careful not to smash hand in-between panels. This must be a common problem if two different companies have same fix. 2/21/2018 I called Milgard because I got no call back from them. I asked for Supervisor and left a voice mail to Paul (Simi office) about my safety concern and that I wanted a new panel because I was not confident that Hector didn't damage door more. 2/22/2018 I received a call back from Paul and we discussed that I wanted a new panel.
2/26/2018 Paul from Milgard called and new panel would be installed on 03/02/2018. 3/02/2018 Milgard repairman came out and brought wrong size panel. He brought standard size and I have French Door style. I left very angry voicemail to Paul from Milgard and Scott from Preferred Glass. 3/02/2018 Receptionist from Milgard called and apologized that she ordered wrong window and they would have someone out 03/9/2018. 3/09/2018 Same repairman came back. Changed panels and as he was cleaning window he saw a big scratch going across the top of glass. I called Paul Milgard later that afternoon screaming!!! 3/14/2018 Anna from Milgard called and said new glass ordered and could be installed 4/26. I said no. It needs to be sooner so date scheduled for 04/05/2018.
So that leaves us to today 04/05/2018. Mark Milgard repairman came out and I had him measure glass before he took panel apart and it's the wrong size. The order is correct but the person putting on truck put wrong one on. So Milgard has been out to my house 4 times and each time it is a circus of mistakes. So as of 04/05/2018 my brand new patio door is not right and has NEVER been right.

I very disappointed on how Milgard customer service is. There is no follow up or communication whatsoever. I had scheduled my lock and slide three- four weeks prior like Veronica had mentioned and still came late and didn't complete work, plus the technician on site used the wrong material according to another rep that came out on a unannounced visit.

The very courteous and professional technicians arrived very promptly on time for the appointment. After a review of the windows they went about their business. The job was completed and all scrap materials were removed. Very respectful prompt workmanship.

I was very pleased with the service received. Milgard followed through on its lifetime warranty and replaced two windows that had issues. (Of course this is 2 after 15 years of Central Oregon winters/summers.) Plus they worked with me so the technician could replace a broken window on the same service call, rather than have to make two trips. The technician arrived promptly, was very congenial and efficient, and completed the replacements in good fashion. He also provided some tips on future maintenance.

It took 3 appointments to get the right size delivered and installed. Milgard needs to teach the installers how to clean a window before installing--we have a new window but it's a streaky mess on the outside and unfortunately very high up, so it will take a very long ladder to get to the window to clean it.

Seal had broken and needed replacement glass. Always a good experience when the repairmen come and do the work. They are timely, courteous, efficient, and the problem is resolved. The frustrating part is getting the appointment. Having to wait months for someone to come out to look and see what window needs replacing (even though I have given them the number stamped on the window), and then another wait of several months to order and receive the glass to replace it, and then schedule another appointment. That is the hassle. I have also had my appointment cancelled the day of repair and rescheduled for another couple months later. I am told that this wait issue is being resolved. I am also surprised that these windows need replacement so often.

Although we had to wait somewhat before the replacement could be accomplished, the replacement of a large view window with a failed seal [after 16 years] was professionally done and Milgard honored their warranty to us as original owners.

Replacement of a "popped" Glue Chip Sliding Window - After calling Milgard about the subject, the date was set for March 28 for 12:30-2:30. Amazingly enough, we received a phone call close to noon. The repairman was early. He pulled out the window and substituted another slider that did not match the pattern of the fixed window. So, he had a match in his truck and put that in and was finished in no time.

The service person who delivered the window was super. However, we do not know what to do next as he did not know anything about actually replacing the window. So we have it stored in our garage waiting for instructions on what and how we are supposed to install it. Perhaps someone can send us some follow up instructions???

1992 Milgard installed 43 windows and 2 french doors in our new dream home. Since then they have responded to the few service calls needed and this year upon selling our home, 25 years later, after Home Inspection, they were there within week to replace the 5 windows that had lost seals. We just finished installing all new Milgard windows in our new home we are building. Best customer service and products in the Business. Thanks Milgard.

The original new door installed in Jan 2018 was scratched so had to go through warranty to have it fixed which took over 2 months... The original installers were great and they were not the ones that scratched it, it came like that. The new installer that did the replacement was quick, courteous and even cleaned the door. He was very good. Thank you for standing up for your product and your warranty... We LOVE our door!

Fixed lock on sliding door. The man came at exact time and day he said he would. Was very friendly and helpful about problem. Repaired it quickly. I did forget to ask him about how I could get a replacement screen door, oops! Very happy with Milgard.

When I called Milgard to find out how to repair my sliding door lock I was pleasantly surprised to find the repair was under a warranty, even though the door was installed 14 years ago! The repairman was friendly and repaired in within the appointment window. The door works like new. I've have been telling all my friends about this great product.

Repair person arrived at scheduled time. Removed old window pane, replaced with new window. Gave instructions on drying time/setup of molding caulk, Gave instructions on opening and closing door for 1st 24 hours. Great Service, very efficient.
