I was so very excited to purchase this agitator free washer. The price was crazy expensive but I said hey I deserve a nice washer. Well I'm get so frustrated every time I have to was being or jeans. This machine blows air up from the bottom to move the laundry around and in turn what happens is the laundry gets TWISTED and becomes TANGLED. Then once the rinse cycle is in motion the laundry turns into one BIG BALL throwing the machine off balance.
I pause or stop the washing cycle to readjust the load. That's a joke because the lock on the lid will NOT DISENGAGE. So I have to unplug the power source. Wait for the power to go off in the control panel and then plug it back in. Then wait for the lid to unlock and then "Untangle the twisted" mess. Choose another cycle of wash which is usually the shortest cycle and start the washer over again with hopes that it doesn't have the same issues. Worst waste of my time and money. Buyer beware of this machine.

Called Maytag services for the Home Depot a couple of times for the "ten year warranty" on parts and I was transferred so many times and after a long waiting they told me they had no one available in our area. Finally, they found someone and I was supposed to wait for a month without a washer machine.

I bought their "high end" washing machine in Nov of 2019, issues started shortly after with software. Got those handled, always had quirks like it would just shut off, not spin, etc. Then started making clunking noises, eventually quit working. Had a repairman come out and was quoted $650 for a repair. Called customer service, got zero help obviously. They already had my money, why would they help? I disassembled it myself to see what actually failed, since it is going to scrap anyway.
I found extremely cheap components, worn out to the point things were stripping out and falling apart. Failed non-lubricated bushings, seals and non lubrricated bearings throughout. I could tell by the design that it wasn't made to last much more than a year or 2. It probably started failing the first time it was used and slowly wore out from there. It's a garbage made product designed to fail. Do not buy, I learned my lesson. Take my advice and steer clear, or you will be in the same position as I am, looking for a new washing machine after 2-3 years. Small family of 3 is what it was used for, was not abused by any means.

I thought buying Maytag brand appliances would save me the hassle of repair/replacement costs in the long run. BIG MISTAKE!!!! I bought a maytag bravos washer and a dishwasher. Long story short worst garbage I ever spent money on. After about 2 years the washer is unusable and guess what not a single part would be covered by the 10 year warranty. Just guessing but it will probably be almost as expensive to get repaired than to buy another. Although the dishwasher is usable having to fix the little things is very irritating. So much for having an appliance for 20 years. MAYTAG GARBAGE.

Purchased this dryer February 28, 2023 and the timer for the dryer went out. Service repairman came out within two days and found timer to be the issue. Next day July 26th got a call that no timers available and had to contact manufacturer. Have to give them at least 21 days to find the part. So now after paying for a new dryer I have to go to laundromat to dry clothes for possibly a month as they will not replace the dryer and do not contribute to expenses incurred due to their defective product. I do not recommend and that's coming from customer who has purchased Maytag appliances for more than 20 years....disappointing.

I purchased a $2500 washer and dryer last Aug/Sept of 2023 along with a $250 5 year warranty. Within 2 months the dryer started making a horrible noise. So I called and scheduled an appointment for a MONTH out. The certified tech came out and found the problem the fan in the dryer was missing a giant piece. He said it was very common and he had been doing a few of them a week. Since I made the dryer appointment, the washer started stopping mid cycle and locking to the point we would have to unplug it from the wall to even get the door open. I asked if he could look at that as well and he said he could not I would have to make a separate order for the washer but he could tell me the problem was the motherboard also a very common issue with the set I purchased.
Now it is July and I am having the same issue so I call them last week they made me an appointment for today and tomorrow, no problem right? It should still be under manufacturer warranty because it is less than a year old. No the company coming out for the repair called to inform me (NOT MAYTAG when I spoke to them) that Maytag voided my warranty because I was using it in my small massage business to wash my sheets because it was not a commercial unit. And I would be responsible for the repairs. It is a common problem, they know it.
I did my research and still got a lemon for almost $3000. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I went with Maytag but will never buy another. We have had LG, and Samsung for the last 12 years of business with no problem with them voiding my warranty so I guess I learned my lesson. I WILL NEVER BUY A MAYTAG again. I thought when I bought it is was a great company with great products but I see that that is no longer the case. I guess they just took my money and ran.

Reset that does not work - toggle your fuse box in the off position and unplug machine for 10 minutes. Plug in machine, reset the fuse box and then lift and close the top of the machine 6 times semi-slowly. This procedure MIGHT work on the sixth or seventh attempt. The phrase & "semi-slowly" is subjective. It depends upon YOUR tempo. It takes me about 30 minutes or so to make this work. Maytag sucks. I am very regretful I purchased this machine.

I recently purchased a home with a Maytag Washer Model MVWX655DW0. The unit was purchased in 2017 from Home Depot in Red Deer Alberta and the 10 year warranty was still valid. The machine started making a horrible grinding noise. I contacted Home Depot and they referred me to Maytag. I called Maytag on approximately June 19th and they said they were scheduling an appointment. I never heard back. So I called again and was told that the appointment was scheduled for June 25th which was a Sunday! The representative said that because it was a Sunday, the technician would be calling me to reschedule. Today is July 4th and I have NOT heard a thing.
In the meantime, I went and purchased a new machine as I cannot be without a washer. I am on the phone right now with a Maytag representative who is asking me if I want an appointment to have a technician come out! I am trying to explain that I have been waiting and I've gone ahead and purchased a new machine. My complaint now is simply that I never received any callbacks, I have a useless washer and I've had to spend $1100 on a new one that I'm now running the first load and it sounds like a tank! (I was forced to buy a Maytag as the area where the washer goes is very tight and the new one was the only one that would fit and the only thing available to purchase in my area.).
I have now spoken with a supervisor who's offered me 15% towards the new machine which I have accepted. I appreciate this; however, it's been an ordeal getting to this point and I really just wish I could have got the old one fixed. This new one sounds and runs like a tank. If only I could have bought an LG (couldn't find one that would fit)..far superior products to Maytag.

They said they would only replace if something went wrong in the first 48 hours! They gave me the Maytag customer number….I spoke to no less than 6 people….Kept getting transferred to someone who could “help.” Got absolutely nowhere! We bought a brand new set of top-line washer & dryer at Lowe's and only 6 months later, the washing machine sounds LITERALLY like a jet engine. We have to close the laundry room door just to make it bearable and you can still hear it OUTSIDE THE HOUSE. We called for warranty work and they sent out a tech to evaluate. His assessment was that the main bearing in the motor in the bottom of the unit was bad and the bearing can't just be replaced, but instead the entire motor, housing, etc has to be replaced. He went on to explain that it's a very common problem that they believe is caused by people using too much detergent. I showed him on the detergent cup where the 'fill line' is and explained that we only fill to that line. His response would be funny if it wasn't so ridiculous; "Yeah, that line isn't reliable... that's actually too much detergent and that's what caused your problem."
So, in summary, if you follow MAYTAG'S INSTRUCTIONS AND MAYTAG'S FILL LINE for your detergent, YOU are using too much detergent, and YOU have caused the bearing to go bad, and YOU are responsible for the cost of repair... WARRANTY WON'T COVER IT. The name MAYTAG used to mean something. It was a quality brand that stood behind their product. That has clearly changed, and MAYTAG AND WHIRLPOOL will never get another dime from me. They could make it right, but they've chosen not to. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The cover plate with the chipped paint is sold together and not separate. Since the cover plate will be exposed to a daily utility room and is so easily, there should be an option to buy the cover plate separately from the complete control panel to lower the repair cost to the consumer.

Purchased a Maytag MVW7230HW1 and matching dryer January 1, 2022. The unit stopped working a year and three months after purchase. We purchased this model due to online reviews and size and operation of the unit. It has an impressive 10 year warranty tag on the front (limited warranty on the drum). One should not have to purchase an extended warranty, especially to get up to three years out of an $850 unit. The washer was found to have a bad sensor and a bad electromagnet to control the drum and agitator operation. After waiting three weeks for service, and no one communicating with me, I came to an agreement with the warranty company to replace it with a new unit, resulting in a $200 charge to cover inflated purchase cost and purchase a new warranty.
When Lowe's delivered the new unit, they had three failed units on the same truck they picked up, prior to making my delivery. This is a known Maytag defect they will not cover, therefore I am hoping the new unit has the update. On a separate note, the matching dryer has an intermittent electrical / software lockup that requires unplugging the unit for several minutes. This is definitely not what I expected from Maytag and absolutely would not have purchased their products had I known the real issues with their devices.

We bought this Maytag washer/dryer set 3 years ago in February. There is only 2 people in our household so not a high demand on the appliances. Called customer service and was advised to unplug and reset circuit breaker. After doing that, machine wouldn't come on at all. Called appliance repair, they came out and was told the entire control panel needs replaced at a cost of $311.00 just for the part and another $200 for labor and trip charge. Will take a week to get the part. Talked with a supervisor at Maytag and expressed our dissatisfaction in a 3-year-old washer that had a major component go out in such a short time. Which is not covered under the 1-year warranty, not covered under extended warranty either.
Maytag refused to do anything with the exception of offering a 15% coupon to buy a new machine, like I would buy another one of these. Told them we would never purchase another Maytag appliance and would advise others not to buy either. The products they produce today are not worth it, they don't stand behind the product and the product is poorly made. The old washer we replaced with the Maytag was 15 years old, never had major repairs on it. We thought Maytag was a strong reliable brand, we were wrong. I am adding 5 to 6 gallons of water to the machine to get enough water to wash the large loads. I can just wash small loads and this will work takes twice as long, but how do you divide a comforter?
Many times I have hand washed special items and put them in the washer on a spin cycle to get extra water out. Not possible to do this on this machine. Several times I have lost my detergent because I did not get the machine loaded before it timed out and the machine emptied. This is tricky when having to add water to basket. If you leave the lid open too long it will just drain out. There is a short window of opportunity. It is a game of constantly tying to trick the machine to keep it from timing out. When I wash my comforter, there will not be enough water to thoroughly was the comforter. It will be compressed during the cycles causing excessing wrinkling. Sometimes dirt will be in the folds. I put blankets on my furniture for my two dogs and thought this machine would be awesome to keep these blankets clean all the time. Well, I was wrong. The washer does NOT remove the hair and if there is hair in the agitator after a wash it's very little while the non-pet pro Maytag (7 years old) dryer I have removes most of the hair left from the wash. The agitator rarely collects any hair. When it does it's such a tiny amount.
I had a Whirlpool technician service my machine because I thought it was defective. He said there was nothing wrong with my machine and suggested I use the "bulky" cycle which uses more water to see if that helps but he didn't feel it would. My wife and I been married over 25 years and been washing clothes since then and before then and NEVER had any issues! Now the company is saying it’s our problem! I am the not so proud owner of a Maytag washer that I purchased in December 2019. At nearly 60 years old, I’ve bought many appliances. This thing belongs in the dumpster. I wish I had kept my old machine and had it repaired. When it’s operating you have to babysit it, otherwise it gets stuck in rinse mode for hours. You have to continuously shift the load around to try to balance it. Usually you have to run the spin and drain cycle 3-4 times by first removing the clothes and leaving about one fourth of the load each time. Don’t waste your money!! If you have an older machine, KEEP IT!! Get it fixed!! This is hands down the worst purchase of my entire life!!

I would give a zero if I could. We bought our matching Maytag MVW6230HC washing machine and dryer from Dufresne furniture and Appliances on September 10, 2022. In less than 4 months the washing machine started making loud squealing noises on the spin cycle. We had the service technician come out to diagnose it on January 25, 2023 and he came back with the parts and "fixed" it on February 2, 2023. It started making squealing noises again February 5, 2023 and has progressively gotten worse. We called Whirlpool Canada and asked for a replacement as we have zero confidence in this washing machine and were told they have to send a technician out again to see if it can be fixed.
I now, after speaking with the manager of the customer service centre and having to go through this whole process again, have zero confidence or respect for Whirlpool Canada, which has Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air and Amana in their portfolio. Whatever happened to the Maytag repair man being bored all day because he didn’t have anything to fix? Remember those days? It seems substandard products are being made from substandard parts and the company is relying on the good name and reputation of days gone by. There is no responsibility being taken on this company's part to fix the problem and make it right. All the time, frustration, annoyance and burden of a faulty product is being put on us, the customer, to have to deal with. Extremely poor customer service, extremely poor product.

Two years ago we bought a Maytag washer for $850. Now the machine has a broken gearbox and we are told it will cost over $500 to repair. What a piece of junk. With the name of Maytag and their 'bored' Maytag repairman, we cannot tell you how disappointing it is that they no longer represent quality. We will not repair but instead buy a quality product. If they aren't embarrassed, they should be. I gave one star because you can't give lower.

Control knob for timing/sensor would not count down. Dryer would not turn off on its own when clothes were dry so needed to watch it very closely. End of cycle buzzer started buzzing even in off position. Had extended warranty plan but they wouldn't cover the repair because it was not cost effective to repair. They wouldn't replace the Dryer because a comparable replacement cost more than the original purchase price. Now waiting for a refund on the purchase price less the cost to have the issue diagnosed. Refund doesn't even come close to covering the cost of a new dryer.
Very unhappy that Maytag does not make a better product and back up what them make. Manufacturer warranty covers only one year parts/labor and after that 10 years on drum and motor. I feel the electrical panel should also have a better warranty on it. Bad enough you can't expect a new dryer to last as long as the one we had for 25 years and only replaced it so we had a matching set when we replaced our washing machine. But to get not even three years is beyond ridiculous. Most households can't afford to replace a major appliance every three years.
Based on my experience if you can at all afford a better brand I would spend the extra money on a better brand, which I had thought Maytag was. If you can't afford to go better then buy the cheapest brand so when you have to replace it in a couple years it's not as big a bit on your pocketbook. I grew up thinking Maytag was towards the top of the line but from my experience quality is at the bottom and price is towards the top.

I finally had enough of this Maytag Bravos junk. It is always out of balance and it shakes and jumps around like crazy, at one point I wedged a piece of 2"x4" between the wall and the machine to try and keep it in place. I leveled it a dozen times thinking I am doing something wrong. Problem is when it does this it shuts itself down then tries to rinse and spin again, it goes crazy again then the cycle starts again. We have to stop it, re-balance the load and try again. This can go on for 3 or 4 tries, it just keeps losing its balance. When it starts jumping around it comes off the floor an inch or two, it's crazy.
I reached out to Maytag via the Canadian website and booked a service call, Maytag service guys come's out, runs it when it's empty and tells us there is nothing wrong with it, just have to make sure the load is balanced. So what I understood is we have to make sure that we watch the machine and when it wants to go into spin we have to open it, make sure it's balanced every time we do a wash because this happens on pretty much every load.
Last night we put in 5 towels, it was a busy night and we forgot about it. Our house is large and we can't really hear anything from our bedroom but when I woke up this morning I could hear the washing machine jumping around. I went downstairs and realized it was the same load from last night. So this thing had been doing this all night, about 11 hours of trying to spin and drain and jumping around. I shut it down re-balanced the load and put it on drain and spin, waited a moment and it unbalanced itself and started jumping around again. I stopped it again, took out one towel and re-balanced the rest and started it again. Sure enough it unbalanced itself and bounced around like crazy so I stopped it and took another towel out and rebalanced the 3 remaining towels. Finally, success, it worked. My wife came down to see what I was doing and I told her I solved the problem, you can only wash 3 towels at a time. Great machine.
What I don't understand is every time it shuts itself down it starts the rinse and spin cycle again, so it fills itself, the clothing float around and it loses its balance again and again. No idea how many cycles it went through last night. We have had this machine approximately 3 years, it did it from the get go but not that often, I always thought I was not balancing it right but it got worse. Maytag service charged me almost $200 to tell me there is nothing wrong. Can't afford to keep these guys coming back.
I'll probably just buy my wife a new machine, but you have probably guessed it, it won't be a Maytag or any of the companies related to Maytag. This has been frustrating and I feel I want to tell everyone and anyone that will listen, stay away from this machine, I have read about others doing the same thing, it is an issue, Maytag knows about it and they send service people to tell you nothing is wrong even though I show him videos of this thing trying to jump out of the room.

This was quoted at $280 then when he comes back he then says the transmission needs to be changed since the part from the washer plate was stuck on it. You guessed it. Price up to $460. This was done with his supervisor there when he quoted me this amount. Well after he changes that and then says, "Oh yeah the hub needed to be changed." (No kidding buddy.) We are very unhappy with Maytag. Our dryer failed to heat only after only 1 1/2 years. We are a household of only 2 adults so it was not overused! The technician replaced the high-limit thermostat (dryer thermistor/thermal fuse) worked for 2 cycles only, then came back and replace the heating element. Surprisingly the Full Warranty is only for a year - the Limited Warranty covers only items that probably won’t break- So I ended up with over a $400 bill. Continuing issues and the third visit….The technician was at my house 3x’s finally giving in because I wouldn’t approve for the attempted replacement of the computer board that now reads an error-F2E1. There is no guarantee that would solve the issues and I would end up paying more than the dryer itself. There’s obviously no good way to diagnose the issues without replacing all the obvious parts.
We never saw an error message on the display before that and I also have the app on my phone - again there was NEVER an error message. I’m waiting to hear from Maytag. I wish there was a better way than phone to contact them so I can send them this information as well as the technicians’ findings. I, unfortunately, purchased another Maytag dryer due to matching the washer.. Crossing my fingers that it’s not another LEMON… Also purchased the extended warranty from Lowe's. I’m sure I’ll have to fight with them if there is a problem, like every other warranty company.

Of course, only take calls from those who are paying, not those who've already paid. The warranty line had me "schedule" a call and I use that lightly because the soonest available time for a call back was 2 weeks out. This on top of the fact that the machine is only 2.5 years old in a household of two maybe running 1-2 loads a week, and it needs a replacement. This time though, 4 months have passed without any resolution and the AIG extended warranty team is now handling the situation. They are indifferent to their customer needs, remember 4 months with no washer. Today marks the third time the repair team showed up and the third time they cannot complete a repair.
I called the Maytag warranty number and asked for assistance in getting a working washer in my house. I asked them to consider the potential of a return customer versus a angry and disgruntled individual when asking them to replace the washer. After multiple repair calls and a continuous 4 months of no washer the warranty person said as long as we can order parts for it they will continue to throw parts at it wasting my time and their money. The auto sensing adjusts the water level to what DRY CLEAN. Even if I put just a few items and put it on med load the clothes came out dry. I would stand there and watch. The machine would just fill halfway and then beat the rest of the clothes with no water???
I had to wash my clothes twice with extra rinse just to get them somewhat clean. The cool cycle always came out hot. It would heat the basement up. After we return machine they installed another machine. The man that installed put the hot water feed line on the cold which is marked on the machine (H). We purchased the Maytag front load washing machine model #MHW4630HW0 at RC Willey in Las Vegas in the spring of 2019. The sales agent highly recommended this model and it was supposed to be energy efficient and also was made in the US. So we purchased the machine. He also sold us the extended warranty. So far, the only issue we have with the machine, from the very beginning, it was taking a very long time to complete the cycle.
Oftentimes, there is only 1 minute left and I will wait and wait for it to complete the wash, but it kept going and going until I finally powered it off. I will then have to change the setting to spin and drain cycle to complete the wash. There were times that it will take up to 3 hours for a load of 20 items in the machine. At this point, I called the RC Willey Extended Warranty department. A technician arrived on 2 or 3 different occasions and fixed the problem, however, it would quickly return to the same issue. This has been very annoying to me...the machine supposed to be energy efficient!!!
Last week I called RC Willey to again report the same issue. A technician arrived today, I explained to him the issue. He called the Whirlpool customer service and he was told that I should do my laundry separately; which I have been doing ever since I started doing our laundry (40 years ago). I separate the white, light colors, dark colors and delicate clothing. I do my laundry once a week since there are only 2 of us (husband and I).
Apparently, I should separate the laundry according to their weights, for example, we use 7 white kitchen dish rag about 9 inches square, 7 pieces for a week; my husband wears white under shirt and white socks. I was told that I should not combine them because the undershirt weight is different from the dish rag or I should not combine shorts with jeans or I should not combine the washcloth, hand towel and bath towel...( this is the first time I ever heard such idiotic reasoning). If Maytag's reasoning is correct how can they claim that this machine is energy efficient. I will be doing 20 loads or more of washing a week for 2 people, small load at a time!!!! Who the hell thought this idea and have the nerve of calling it efficient!!!!
After the technician left, I called RC Willey Extended Warranty department and complained about what the technician told me and she confirmed that it was correct and there is nothing they can do or will correct the problem. I think this will be my first and last Maytag appliance that I will ever purchase (so much for Made in the USA brand...shame on you Maytag). I tried not to buy items from China and buy nothing but made in the USA; but this Maytag issue is more than ridiculous. I don't think I will ever go to RC Willey again!!!

It turned out the weatherstripping between the drum and the door was incorrectly installed when manufactured causing the lint to build up inside the unit. This can cause all the moving parts to stop working, and of course does not cause the dryer to stop working until it is out of warranty. Have had 4 service repairs and still not resolved. Now showing message F7E1. Have Sloans service scheduled for next week. Which will probably order parts and have to wait another month for repair. So I have to wash clothes at laundromat again. At this point Maytag should replace my washer.

I paid a premium for the Maytag front loader washer, dryer & pedestals. I paid a premium thinking Maytag was a superior product. I was wrong! The items delivered were defective. The Maytag warranty covers repair & not replacement of defective merchandise. There are no warranty repair persons in my area. They waste time while my warranty expires, trying to find a repair person in my area, that doesn't exist. I've contacted the FTC & my state attorney general, that Maytags shouldn't be sold in my area, as they have no one to honor their warranty. The company doesn't stand behind it's products & the warranty is meaningless. They say it's not in their financial best interest to replace defective merchandise. Don't buy Maytag. Find another brand. The Maytag name doesn't mean anything anymore.

I wish I would have seen this site before buying my Maytag washer/dryer back in summer of '19. The washer is pure junk. And, each repair is now costing $200+. The repair guys says these things break all the time due to cheap components. These are supposed to be durable goods lasting 10+ years. My last washer lasted over 10 years without any problems until I sold it with my old house. I really do want to buy American. But, Maytag washer ended up costing me twice as much.

I purchased this washer in July of 2020 from Lowe's. For the first couple of months it worked really well with no problems at all. Then it started having small issues which were covered under the warranty so I did not worry too much about them. However, with only a year warranty I should have known something was going to go wrong soon after and it did. The digital interface (the circuit board to get the washer to work) went bad. It just showed a code of F6 and E2, before it shut down. So I went to the website to see who I could get to come out and look at the washer to see what was wrong. I found someone through the Whirlpool site. I then made an appointment and waited the week and a half for someone to come out and look at the washer. Since it is no longer under the warranty it cost me $125 for them to just look at the washer.
As the gentleman starting looking at the machine he said that both circuit boards had gone bad and new ones would have to be purchased for him to be able to fix it. I asked how much that would be total for the parts and labor, it came to $900.00. This washer is not even 2 years old yet and I have a repair bill for $900 on a washer that I bought brand new for $1,200. When I tried to speak with someone at Whirlpool about this, they said they were sorry it happened, but it is out of warranty so it is pay the $900 or get a new washer. The lid on the machine cracked on the left side (plastic piece) and machine will not lock. The machine was not delivered until a month after purchase. My extended warranty expired in the month it was purchased not delivered. So the warranty will not be honored. The cracked lid is a product defect of Maytag, new machines are not being made the same way...yet Maytag will not honor, nor will Lowe's.

We bought the Maytag washer because it is made in America. The lid started to break a couple Of months after we bought it and continues to break every few months. We have had to resort to using only one cycle on the washing setting so it will complete a cycle. That’s not the worst part: every lid that has been replaced eventually cracks again, falls apart again, and doesn’t lock again so that the wash cycle doesn’t start. I have contacted Maytag countless times, had multiple repairmen here to fix the washer, and it is broke again. There is a design flaw and a good company would have replaced the washer many repairs ago. I am upset about making this purchase and will not recommend MAYTAG to anyone looking for a RELIABLE washer.

Have had a tech out twice with a 3rd tech schedule for tomorrow morning. I bought the machine last August and noticed it was out of balance in the spin cycle. I left and went to the other house and upon return this March of 2022 I realized the washer was not operating normally. It always shook and jumped in the spin cycle. Listening to the tech talk to the Whirpool tech, he advised I was loading it incorrectly. Well I have been loading a washer for 50 years on my own with zero issue. So I listened and found you had to have it at least 1/3 full and less than completely full. The tech on site watched me load it and left. Then after reaching the spin cycle it shook, jumped off the floor and of course it took me a minute to get it turned off. So the idea I wasn't loading correctly was incorrect.
It has been leveled a few times now but still acts like a spacecraft attempting to depart the earth. I am waiting to see what the new company tech has to say. I am disappointed and am looking for a replacement as this machine will damage the floor and walls of the laundry room if I am not present. The model # is MVW7232HW0. IT STILL WORK AND FIND IT IRRITATING I AM WASTING SO MUCH TIME ON A PRODUCT I PAID 1000 dollars FOR. I need to get a machine that actually doesn't waste my time. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Broke off as much as possible, but still a piece left, rendering it not repairable. Whirlpool/Maytag business strategy is planned obsolescence through contrived durability and prevention of repairs. Machines are designed to fail faster, and the cost of repair (if even possible) is more than the machine. Customer service message- sorry, not sorry you are out of warranty and no "known issues" or recalls. Loads of bad reviews related to this design defect and others out there. In the meantime my clothes were locked in the washer half full of dirty water. They told me we would have to force the lock to retrieve the clothes so they would not mold. The repairman called, never showed up, just called to ask what was wrong. Told me he would order parts and I had to wait 21 days to see if they would be able to find them.
Today is day 21. I called the warranty back and was told it would be escalated and someone would call me in 4 days with a resolution. I purchased a Maytag commercial residential washer in late 2018, supposed to have a warranty for at least 5 years. We are in California and I was told that there was only one facility that could come two weeks later. I removed the front panel to have it ready for service tech, who on the first visit kept saying he did not know what the problem was, and left telling me he would order parts. After Christmas, I could not get in touch with service so again called Maytag. Service was supposed to come out on the 30th.
After waiting almost 3 hours, he called to tell me he did not have the parts. Also, this repair tech treated me very bad since I removed the front panel which I thought I was being nice. He called me back on the 30th, said someone gave him a part, and came. All he did was remove control panel, lost the start button and told me it worked without checking it at all. He was rushing to another appointment so I tried to start it and it still had the original issue, which was slow agitator and a rubbing/grinding sound. Now, after he did something with control panel it had a clicking sound. I immediately called corporate and was told when he came back, which has now been over a month with no washer, that he would be with a senior technician.
January 5th I waited all afternoon and he called and said he was not coming and that my whole washer would have to be rebuilt. He never replaced the parts on previous invoices I received, and I filed a complaint with the BBB. Now they are completely lying. Technician trying to say I had the control panel apart which is not true, and does not match up with the invoices I received. They are telling me my warranty is voided! It's been a month and a half. I was treated rudely from the beginning and now I am obviously being retaliated against. I have 3 kids, two with severe medical problems and have put so many hours into calling with all these issues.
I had another service place come out and he removed the agitator and the transmission shaft/drive motor is rusted out, as well as the parts he said he replaced are worn and definitely not new. For this company to come back after all this time and say I did this, when I have the original invoice that clearly states otherwise is absolutely the worst service ever.
I bought this machine thinking it would last, and now have to deal with all this. I have nerve damage and it is very difficult to take all the laundry for a family of 5 to do at laundromat. They refused to send someone else out, where they could easily have seen this repair tech never did what he said, and was unable to diagnose and fix the issue. It's appalling to me that this is how they treat customers. Laura ** at corporate is the one saying warranty is voided. The machine looks brand new as it has always been taken care of. They should be ashamed of themselves. Apparently, this is the standard a lot of times with people trying to get things serviced under a Manufacturer warranty!

It died after 22 months, a bad seal leaked water internally, fried some components (no water ever leaked from the unit onto the floor) and despite there being a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty on parts sticker on the unit... the fine print says only the tub and motor are covered.
There is no way we could have known the seal was leaking and it was not the result of misuse (overloading) or abuse. I just finished paying off my Maytag Bravos series washer and dryer, and now they are failing! The washer isn't getting dirt out and the dryer power button broke. And it's not like I can use some pliers to get the switch to work, it's like the part that controls the power just dropped out of existence, leaving me with a knob in my hand that connects to nothing! Of course, the limited warranty only covers the drums, not the little dinky parts that break more easily. I had inherited a set of Maytags and they were well over 20 years old (possibly 30) and they both were powerhouses. But this is terrible! I feel super disappointed that I'm going to have to buy a new set after only owning these for 18 months. I know I WON'T be buying Maytag ever again, though!

Back in late 2017 we paid over $800 to purchase a front loader Maytag washing machine from Lowe's. Before the year long warranty was up, the control board/motherboard stopped functioning. Maytag sent a repairman who tried to blame the problem on us even though he appeared well aware of the problems with Maytag/Whirlpool. After appealing to Lowe's, they intervened and Maytag agreed to replace the washer with a higher model. (This process took many phone calls and a great deal of frustration).
One year later, shortly after the warranty expired on the second washer, the control board again stopped functioning properly on the second Maytag washer. Since then, I have been rebooting the machine, starting the cycle over again numerous times and doing everything within my power to keep the washer going. The cost of replacing the control board is outrageous. Soon I will replace this machine with an LG with an extended service warranty. No more Maytag or Whirlpool products for me! They are once great American corporations that have fallen apart and are riddled with dishonesty and greed. I guess these corporations only mirror what is going on in this country and government.

There's nothing at all good about this machine. It is impossible to work with. I've hated it since the day I got it. Don't buy it, ever, ever, ever. You can't put additional items in once it's started, you can't adjust a load that's uneven and get it to complete a cycle, it takes forever to do one wash and it often rinses multiple times and there's no way to stop it. I HATE THIS MACHINE. HATE IT. LIKE IT'S A PERSON. HATE. Is that clear enough?

We are extremely frustrated with this machine. It takes an extremely long time to go through the cycle, compared to past washing machines, even when it is working. It rarely completes the cycle and often goes back to "wash" and stops. We have no way of knowing if it washed or rinsed or what. To get it to finish, we have to turn the dial to drain and spin. The clothes always come out tightly twisted and tangled up and have to be untwisted and items pulled from each other....so they are extremely wrinkled! This is the first and last Maytag product we will ever buy. We HATE it!!! I would say it has been a lemon from day one but Home Hardware was no help when we complained. We tell everyone to stay away from this product.

Had previous Maytag for years. Good, reliable, easily repaired product. Cycle sequencing very recognizable. New washing machines are ridiculously designed. Neither you nor the repairman have any idea what the cycles are or if they are even working as designed. Many cycles start out trying to wash with little or no visible water in the drum (top loader). The clothes come out tied in knots. I now wait for the agitation to start then pause and add water for three to five minutes then restart. What a nuisance. I have called customer care many times and they are courteous but not very helpful. This machine is an engineering nightmare. If I were in charge I would retire the people who dreamt up this contraption and get back to something reasonable before all their credibility is lost FOREVER!!

Dryer doesn’t dry any size load in one cycle regardless of settings. Mysteriously, it triggers a message to check the lint filter and line when running a small load with nothing blocking the venting system. It never happens on large loads which would block more of the air flow. You could get a comparably sized dryer for much less. This not the premium product that you pay for.

As I ran to the door I realized it was my washer. Long story short, repair guy said it'd be cheaper to just buy a new washer. Maytag did nothing to help us resolve the issue of a 3 yr old machine totally useless. We bought this machine because we thought it would last for years. I bought the larger capacity machines to save time because I'm so busy with my family and wanted to cut down on loads. I was surprised to find the capacity can really only operate at half, which is as large as my old, smaller machines. The washer is extremely sensitive, meaning it may take four or five tries (this morning was four) to arrange the clothes - even a small load of delicates - in it in the exact way the machine wants before it will allow the cycle to start. This is exceptionally frustrating, particularly during the busy morning or when you are tired at night. So you have to stand there and wait until the "sensing" function is happy and you see the water pouring in. Yet often you will return to the machine and it will have an error message that occurs inexplicably during the spin cycle, so the wash cycle will need to be restarted. It cannot just be continued. The machine is not only a huge time waster but a water/detergent waster as well.
I learned that the sensing function on the dryer is useless as well after coming back to many loads of damp clothes that sat there, got little funny smelling as a result, and had to be rewashed in the nightmare washer lol. So now I just use the timer function. It takes about two hours to dry a regular load of towels, so be prepared for that. I bought Maytag because it is an American-made product, but I won't make the same mistake next time. If the quality is any reflection of the functionality, it probably won't last very long anyway. Here's to hoping.

My washer now works, it took less than 30 days impressed with the repair company J&H Factory Service. However this particular washer suppose to have a "deep water wash" and the machine barely uses enough water to cover the clothes. It's a good thing I live in California. One other item I don't like is the fact you have to dilute any softener. I use Downy, with water and the clothes don't come out as soft as they use to. Be very careful before you buy a Maytag Washer, if you do buy one and it starts to make a clicking noise, open the machine lid and if the clothes are just sitting there call for a repairman and tell him the machine will not agitate. Apparently this happens a lot with this particular model washer. The good news is it didn't cost me one cent.

Updated on 08/13/2021: Today a repairman who is authorized by Maytag came out. He found the problem, some arm that popped out that is located underneath the washer. He put it back together and said he needs to order the part and it will take 30 more days. Set the washer so that it SHOULD work for a couple of loads. I spent $700 on a washing machine and I have to go to a laundry mat to get my clothes washed. Here is the clincher. The guy left no paperwork, nothing, not even a business card. So I am at the mercy of this repairman (I think he said his name was Jessie). The guy was friendly, quick and knowledgeable, however he told my husband he knew what the problem was going to be, if you knew why didn't you bring the part with you and he said the part is out of stock. Why, is this part unique to Maytag washers? So I am still waiting for my washer to be fixed.
Original Review: In December 2020 I purchased a Maytag washer it was delivered in January 2021 and it worked great for the first several months. Then the machine started making noises, clicking noises like it couldn't move through the gears. Then I started noticing that my clothes were not getting cleaned. It was taking an hour to wash the clothes. I told my husband it is not agitating just clicking. We had to stop and start back up the washer just to get the water level high enough for the so called "deep water wash". I was finding residue left on my clothes and had to wash them 2 or 3 times to get the clothes clean enough to wear. Sometimes it won't spin enough to empty the water in the tub. It smells almost like wire burning. It has barely been 6 months and I have to have a repairman out. I will review the washer again after it has been fixed or replaced. But as of right now I will never buy another Maytag again.

I purchased a very expensive set of Maytag washer & dryer (topload washer) and heavy duty larger capacity. Firstly- I purchased this through Home Depot on Labor Day weekend and did not receive this set until December 2020. This set has all the electronics and I'm going to tell you NOT to purchase either one. The dryer MUST have a metal solid vent. This sets your dryer out into the walkway of a laundry room. If you use a heavy flexible metal vent; your sensor will be going off constantly telling you your vent is plugged and to clean it. I had a dryer vent company out twice to clean and inspect the wall & roof vents yielding nothing. I also have a dryer vent cleaner which I hook up to my vacuum and I clean the dryer vent monthly. If you lose power. You will need to unplug your dryer and let it reset to be able to use it.
The washer is also terrible for the outrageous price. Again; glass heavy duty top load with all the electronics. You can't get the washer to fill even on deep fill. Also; do NOT put a lot of clothes or jeans or blankets in this machine. It will not be able to level and spin. When you try to use the drain and spin cycle; the sensor keeps going off. I swift the contents around and around and finally end up having to take soaking wet cloths out into the garage until I have one sheet in the machine and it will spin out. In addition- the CLEAN with Afresh mess. This forces you to clean your machine- whether you are in the middle of trying to get clothes drained or not.
Buy something that's a simple workhorse with one button. Stay away from any bells and whistles because it's only going to cause you heartache in the long run. I wish I would have read reviews prior to spending $1,700 on a Maytag Washer Dryer set (ON SALE- for God sakes). This is the biggest piece of garbage I have ever purchased. Buyer beware.

The second machine runs all the cycles but, though leveled carefully, it rattles, screeches, walks across the floor and generally seems to be trying to tear itself apart. After searching Google for answers, my husband flipped the main breaker, then unplugged the washer overnight. It seemed like that fixed the problem, but it didn't. I called Lowe's for help and got hung up on numerous times. The hang-ups were not due to my attitude or choice of words. I kept getting transferred from person to person and put on hold, then the phone would go dead. Eventually, someone actually spoke to me and gave me an 800 Maytag number to call, which resulted in more hang-ups.
As before, eventually I got to speak to a real human being who took my info and said that a service tech would contact me. Well, over two weeks later, no one has contacted me. However, due to my post/review on the Maytag website, a Lowe's representative did call me and offered me a full refund on the washer, but not a word was mentioned about the dryer that seems to be possessed because it turns on and off at will. My husband and I have a limited income, and we purchased the top-of-the-line Maytag w/d thinking that it would last at least ten or more years.
For the money that we spent, the w/d should have at least lasted for the warranty period. As noted before, Maytag was once the Toyota of w/d. You could not purchase a better product. Now, the exact opposite is true. Buyer beware, the most expensive with all of the bells and whistles is not always the best. However, I couldn't have been more wrong.
In 2016 I purchased the Maytag Centennial top loader for $500. I really loved the size of the tub and the way it looked. I can fit a large comforter in it with plenty of room leftover. I also have no interest in a front loader after reading reviews. So I thought this was going to be great! Well it hasn't been. It has broken 3 times. The circuit board twice and now the bearings are going out in the motor. I fixed it the first two times but now I'm done. I'm done with Maytag, Aka Whirlpool. I think it will be a Speed Queen for me now. I'm hoping it won't be a dud also because they are pricey! It actually scares me to spend that kind of money. I have really lost my faith in most companies nowadays. Customer service and quality has gone out the window. I think about how much this impacts the environment! It's terrible that appliances only last a few years before they end up in the landfill.

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer unit from Lowe's 3 years ago. The idler pulley failed causing a squealing noise every time we turned it on. It had to be replaced along with a new belt. The washer failed to work shortly after that. It had error codes that Maytag could not give me information about. These were both higher grade commercial units. We hoped they would last longer than 3 years without having major repairs. We also have had to install two lid switches for the washer in that same time span. Quality has been very poor and customer service has been worse. I will never buy another one of their products again.

I will NEVER get another Maytag product ever again! My not even 1 year old washer broke and I have been waiting almost 2 1/2 months for a part to be replaced. My partner and I are nurses working on the front lines during this COVID pandemic and I can’t even wash my scrubs at my own house but instead I have to go to a damn washateria.
The “supervisor” told me 2 weeks ago that if the part is not in by today, 1/27/21, that a brand new washer will be sent to me. Well I call today and the people I spoke to denied any recollection of this information. The “supervisor” stated that she is “documenting all of the information” so when I called back I would not have a problem. Once again I have been lied to and wasting my breath and time. The customer service has been TERRIBLE and I cannot believe that this was once a “reliable” brand! Clearly this brand is unreliable and the personnel is also unreliable. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A MAYTAG! Save your money and buy a different brand!

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washing machine in December 2019. The machine started badly malfunctioning in November 2020. By the time I called for service, they told me the 12-month warranty had expired and I needed a new control board put in for $529! I called Maytag and they agreed to replace the board free of charge, but I had to pay $120 for the service call. They replaced the board, and the new board is faulty. The machine will not fill with water, it won't lock, and now it won't even start. This machine is a LEMON!
Now they are saying the soonest they can get a tech out is 1/29/21. Meanwhile, I have a mountain of laundry piling up in my laundry room because I haven't had a working washing machine for almost a month. I called to complain and demanded either a refund or a new machine--they will do neither. I used to buy Maytag because of the name, dependability, and customer service. No wonder they were bought by Whirlpool. I WILL NEVER BUY MAYTAG OR WHIRLPOOL AGAIN. I should have looked at all the 1-star ratings online. BUYER BEWARE!

We are a family of nine so I wash a lot of laundry. We bought this washing machine a month ago and hoped it would perform like our prior one. The problems are many. It is too smart for it's own good- it requires a "cleaning" after every 30 washes but gives you zero warning beforehand so you will already have the clothes in and started the cycle when it will stop the cycle saying it needs cleaned. There is nothing you can do to override the cleaning cycle, so you are forced to remove your sopping wet clothes and run the cleaning cycle- wasting time and money on precious water! It also wants you to use its specialty "affresh" to clean it with, adding cost we hadn't planned on.
Then you can't tell when to put the clothes in as it tells you to start the washer and then add the clothes, but if you put the clothes in first sometimes it won't start because it won't "sense" properly, and if you start it without the clothes. Then when you stop to add the clothes it won't start it with the clothes in it- which way does the machine want it?! So it is a guessing game as if the washing cycle will even start. And the washer won't hold as many clothes as our last one did. If there are too many clothes, the cycle will stop and it will refuse to wash until some are removed. Whenever there is a problem starting, which in one month has been four times now for us, it is a huge guessing game as to what is wrong for why it won't start. I don't need this kind of frustration!
Further, the locking mechanism in the washer is plastic, and I know from experience that plastic parts will be the first to break. Had I realized this before purchasing, I would have looked for a metal locking device. My guess is when it does break, the whole washer will break. Also, from day one, it has made a sound that I'm not sure is normal. It sounds almost like grinding gears every time each various phase starts or stops (washing, rinsing, draining, etc.). I sincerely hope this isn't a manufacturer defect as we didn't buy the extended warranty. We researched this model before buying and many were happy with it but I hate this washer!
I loved my last Samsung washer but it rusted all over after just five and a half years even though it still worked great, so I didn't want to buy Samsung again so we took a chance with this Maytag. I am regretting this purchase. I consider myself to be a person easy to please. I want a washer that works that won't rust that you can put a ton of clothes in and throw it in the wash and forget about it. I don't want all this high-tech sensing stuff that just messes up and is highly inaccurate in what it "senses"! Why can't companies offer a simple, high quality product anymore that works, without the added costly features?! The model number is: MVW6230HW0. Avoid this model number.

Purchased new set from Lowes in November 2018. Control panel and board failed in January 2020. Called Maytag and they agreed to do a one-time "good-will" repair, as unit was 2 months out of warranty. Panel and board failed again December 2020- less than 1 year old. Contacted Maytag via email and then chat; chatted with 'Jenny'. Very rude and abrupt. Stated unit out of warranty and will not replace parts. Explained I would fix it if they sent parts, refused. She stated there was a 90-day warranty on parts. I explained that it is probable there is a manufacturing defect in the components for both parts to fail so closely together. Short and abrupt responses. Asked if she could issue partial credit or rebate towards purchase of new unit, again refused to do anything. Asked her to escalate this to a supervisor- refused to do so, claiming she was qualified to make final decisions on behalf of Whirlpool. Very abrupt and unprofessional.
I am a reasonable small-business person and understand a company must have standards and policies. But at some point there needs to be some common sense and accountability. It's highly unlikely I am the only one that has experienced frequent failures in this equipment, and at the very least they should have offered a credit or discount towards the purchase of a new machine. In this manner they most likely would have kept me as a customer of a brand that stands behind their product, not just shareholder value. I opted to receive a transcript of my chat with 'Jenny', but never received. Further, received no response whatsoever to my email sent previous to the pleasant chat session.
In summary, Maytag is not what they used to be. The appliance performance is substandard, operational longevity/quality is very poor and customer service is unprofessional and unaccommodating. I purchased a Samsung set last week; more money but far superior performance and a standard three-year warranty. Goodbye Whirlpool/Maytag forever.

I was told power surges could cause it, however I have a WHOLE HOUSE SURGE SUPPRESSOR ON THE INCOMING 200 AMP SERVICE AND KNOW THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM!!! Had the same CPU go out again in Nov. 2020 so, rather than pay $370 for the part plus labor, we bought a top loading GE with an extended warranty and factory 10 years on the motor. There is a sticker on it that the warranty is 10 years, but this warranty is for the motor and not for everything else. I read on the Internet what kind of error the machine gives me, it turned out to be either the motherboard or the front panel. I did not order the parts myself, called the service, in 5 minutes I had to pay 130 $ to he told me the same thing that I read in Google.... And he said that the repair would cost another 500$ part - 250$ and service fees to replace the front panel or the motherboard.
It's ridiculous prices, so I find parts lil cheaper and ordered the motherboard myself, my husband installed it (there is nothing hard to do it) and the machine still gave the same error, I ordered the front panel for 220$ and the machine still gives the same error. Now front panel didnt respond at all, and this brand new panel... So I bet after I will pay to service they will tells me there is something else broken... Maytag??? NEVER AGAIN!
So I send all part to the store, save money this way and now I buying a new one, when a year and a half ago I spent 1000$ on Maytag and the service is trying to rob me at the cost of a new machine, and no one gives me a guarantee after the service, I will not have a new one. The digital display on our Maytag Washer model MVWB765FW, bought 3/22/2017, failed overnight (whilst the machine was not operating) after 3 1/2 years. A reputable firm came out and diagnosed the problem, their report concluded that the Control Board had failed and needed replacing: they provided a verbal quote of $525 [ ! ] to do that. The machine cost $600 and based on the expected life for washers (per Consumer Reports) of ten years would have a maximum residual value of $420 based on straight-line depreciation.
The retailer from whom we bought the washer told us that he had contacted Maytag and asked them what they were prepared to do about this failure: a week later and absolutely no response from the manufacturer. Apparently Maytag has no concern for their customers or their own reputation. I bought our Maytag HE washer model #MVWC565FW back in July 2019 after having owned a Kenmore scratch and dent washer from Sears for approx 25 years, and in just one month of using it I knew it was a mistake. There are only 2 water levels - deep water (full tub) or practically no water (though there are a number of settings, there is no difference in water level, it's just full drum or very very little water). The auto-sensor water level option is a joke - there is barely enough water to wash anything - it's like going back hundreds of years to washing and beating your clothes on rocks. Items in the washer become so tangled it sometimes takes a while to detangle before placing in the dryer. Water stops filling the tub when lid is open - I can no longer wash and rinse delicates while the drum is filling.
It took 3 calls w/ Customer Service to get an ADDITIONAL lid latch that I can use to trick the machine to thinking the lid is closed - I keep the actual lid open, then stick in the lid latch I bought - take it out when I'm done hand rinsing. This also enabled to to view the washing in action - IT DOES NOTHING! Clothes stay in the same place as you placed them in the tub - they don't move, they don't wash - and I bought a washer with an "agitator" - that is in quotes because it is a misnomer with this brand!
The wash cycles ARE SO LONG it takes all day to wash a few loads of laundry. Once you select a setting YOU CANNOT CHANGE IT - the washer empties and stops, then you have to start all over again - ENERGY AND WATER EFFICIENT...REALLY???? What a bunch of you know what! This is the most inflexible piece of junk I have ever had the displeasure of owning. I have to keep jugs of water on hand that I keep filling up to at least have a bit of water. When I called Cust. Svc. at the beginning telling them my experience - the person on the phone had nothing to contribute - they couldn't even tell me what cycles might fit my needs - they told me to go back to Home Depot and ask someone there! WORST APPLIANCE WORST COMPANY.

Hello, I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer model MVWX655DW from the Home Depot in June of 2017. I can provide the receipt. Within 6 months I had a broken lid switch and the unit would not move through the cycles. Luckily, I had the ability to replace the lid switch at the cost of about $100 just for the part. The repair was fairly involved. This summer, the unit failed to agitate, upon much research, I learned the washer drive hub (which makes the washer agitate and spin) was worn out. It was made of plastic and it is quite a job to get the cover plate off and to replace this part which ranges in price from $20-$45. This is a fairly difficult job and I would not recommend it to most people. It should not be needed in a 3 year old machine.
Upon inspection of the drive shaft teeth when I took the washer apart, I found the steel teeth to have significant wear. Why? Now, in mid-November, same issue, the plastic drive hub is worn out again! I was told maybe my shock absorbers for the drum needed to be replaced as the drum may be shaking too much. My previous washer was good for 18 years and I replaced it with this "highly recommended model Maytag with the chrome basket". This is absolutely the worst appliance I have had and with every repair, I viewed many, many people with the same complaints and feeling that Maytag should issue a recall on these machines. I will be contacting Maytag and Home depot with my review. The HD installer also stripped the plastic valve one of the water hoses goes on that I had also to replace. A $40 dollar part. This took some disassembly but not as bad as replacing the drive hub every three months.
Needless to say, I have to buy a new machine after 3 years of unreliability with his machine. A waste of $500 + of my hard earned money. Very, very disappointed. If I wasn't mechanical and able to fix this washer, it would have cost me hundreds in repair bills. I have receipts of the parts I have purchased for this unit. I hope your experience is better if you have owned one of these machines. Maybe I just got a bad one but many people have complained about this model so I don't believe I am alone. I hate to see good people spend their money on poorly constructed machines. I certainly expected more than 3 years out of a brand new appliance. Maytag and Home Depot have lost a good, long time customer unless they want to make it right. Please feel free to contact me.

Unless you’re doing laundry for an army don’t buy the Maytag commercial washer MVWP575GW. I should have gone with my original choice but my husband was concerned with the durability and warranty hence why we purchased this washer. It’s just the 2 of us and I frequently use the delicate cycle. Unknown to me at the time you can not adjust your water level so if you’re washing delicates plan on wasting a lot of water unless you only wash your delicates once a month. In my opinion delicates are undergarments, blouses, etc. delicate cycle in “deep water wash” only. As far as we can tell the wash cycle at its longest is 8 minutes which I guess for commercial grade is probably correct. However there is a presoak option that I don’t the believe does the work of a longer wash cycle. If you have to do a quick scrub on a piece of clothing as the washer is filling up you can not do this as everything stops once the lid is up.
Last but not least the washer is loud it sounds like it’s going to break down at any minute. I’m sure many of the issues people have with products today are due to government regulations. I’ve tried contacting Maytag customer service on numerous occasions to see if I’ve been doing something wrong even though I’ve read through the operating manual several times, I’m currently on hold for 20 minutes. Doing the laundry has never been the highlight of my day but I never minded it until now. I absolutely dread it now. My suggestion would be if you like the features on your current washer, spend what you need to to get it working properly which is what I wish I had done with my 23 yr old washer. Worst purchase I’ve ever made!
