I bought a Maytag washer and dryer in Dec of 2024. In March of 2026 the electronic board went out and to repair it the cost is $400. I called customer service and was told that they couldn’t do anything for me but I could purchase another warranty for $360. We only used the washer 3 months out of the year because we are seasonal residents so actually the washer is about 6 months old! Never again will I buy any Maytag products. Check out the warranty before you purchase any appliances.

We purchased what we believed to be excellent quality Maytag washer and dryer which essentially cost us a couple thousand dollars based on sales recommendations two and a half years ago. Our washer started to make this horrible sound during spin cycles. Decided to call Appliance center tech to look at it. He told us the "Gear case or transmission" was shot and we would probably be better off getting a new washer since our two and a half year old washer warranty expired after two years! Wow how disappointing! They would not back the product or work with us to get another one. I will NEVER purchase a MAYTAG product again. We are in our 50s and it is just the two of us. Steer clear folks.

I wish I had researched Maytag. I've only had this washer about 3 years. I bought it for the large tub to do large loads. Mistake, it won't spin until I re-adjust load couple of times. It makes a very loud noise when spinning. I will NEVER buy a Maytag product again. Worst washing machine I've ever owned. Last big load it tried spinning 8 times and would not spin til I pulled clothes all apart and spread out more balanced. Had to do that twice before it would spin, and still didn't get the water out good.

I’ve been a loyal Maytag customer for years, which makes this experience with their service plan especially disappointing. My washing machine (purchased in 2018) recently started having issues, so I contacted Maytag to ask whether it was worth repairing. Their representative recommended signing up for a monthly extended service plan and explained that if the technician came out on the first visit and the machine couldn’t be repaired, they would refund the plan and cancel it. If it required multiple visits and still couldn’t be repaired, they said they would cover the replacement cost.
A repair company came out shortly after. The technician was here for about 15 minutes, looked at the machine, and said it needed several parts that would take 7–10 days to arrive. He also commented that the washer was getting old and that I had probably gotten my money’s worth out of it. Given the cost and wait time, we decided it made more sense to cancel the plan and purchase a new washer — which we planned to buy from Maytag again.
However, when I called to cancel the service plan, I discovered that Maytag was charging me more for the service call than the repair company would have charged had I contacted them directly. In other words, the “service plan” ended up costing me more than simply calling a local repair technician myself. After being a loyal Maytag customer for many years, this felt misleading and frustrating. I expected better transparency and customer care from a brand I’ve trusted for so long.

Did not expect for Maytag to be unprofessional, send over a technician without them telling me that my warranty had expired. The technician had to tell me after he got done because Maytag never told me in the beggining or I wouldn't even have them come out. Their products are not good quality at all and only have the washer and dryer for 2 years. If anyone wants something good and Professional just buy an LG. They'll last you more than 2 years.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a defective Maytag washer unit purchased from Home Depot in September 27th 2025. Make: Maytag - Model #: MHW5630MBK0 - Serial#: CE3500360. The appliance was paid for in full and delivered new. Due to a move, we opened and began using the machine in December 2025.
From the very first use, the washer began making an extremely loud and abnormal noise. We immediately contacted Maytag for service. A Maytag technician from Wind Factory Service located in Hicksville, NY inspected the unit and advised us that a major internal part was defective and stated that this “should never happen in a new machine.” The technician further indicated that significant internal damage appeared to be present and MAYTAG should replace the unit.
Despite this acknowledgment, Maytag has continued to delay resolution, stating they are waiting on parts and attempting additional repairs. As of now, it is February 2026, and we still cannot use the machine due to the excessive noise and risk of further damage. We have been left without a functioning washing machine for weeks.
The last contact with The Maytag representative, we were advised to contact Home Depot for a replacement unit since they sold the unit, because Maytag policy is only to repair the unit. Home Depot acknowledged that it is most likely a defective unit but refused to take responsibility, directing us back to the manufacturer - Maytag. Both parties are effectively refusing to stand behind a brand-new product that was clearly defective from first use. This situation is unacceptable. A new appliance should not require major repairs immediately upon first use, nor should consumers be left without a working essential appliance for an extended period after full payment.
At this point, we are requesting one of the following:• A full replacement with a new, fully functional unit, or
• A full refund of the purchase price
We have acted in good faith and followed all required procedures and we have not heard back from Maytag to check in or the Wind Factory Service with any update regards to where stand with the parts. Thank you for your attention and please find a resolution to this major issue.

I need a rating available lower than 1 star! DO NOT BUY MAYTAG if you expect any kind of customer service. We have a 4 week old $950 washing machine that broke. It took Maytag a week and a half to get a service person out. He came yesterday and said he has to order a part, which is out of stock. He has no idea how long it could take... possibly a month or more. Maytag customer service reps do not care about this one bit and offer no solution. A 4 week old machine that needs a new control board should be replaced in my opinion. I understand sometimes things are just faulty, but the way this is being handled is unacceptable. What a nightmare. I hope to save other people from this frustration. What do they expect people to do?

LESS THAN 3 years ago, I purchased a Maytag top load washer MN: MVW7232HW1 ($685) They are supposed to be extremely reliable with a "10 year" warranty. Don't believe everything you hear/see. The unit worked GREAT, for 6 months. The center screw on the motor drive system managed to back itself completely out and fell on the floor. It took a few hours to figure out why the unit would stay balanced and kept erroring out. I installed the screw with blue Loctite ($7) to remedy the issue. 1 year later, the main seal on the basin completely let go. Water was all over the floor and leaking through my floor.
Called Maytag and it wasn't a "warrantable" repair. The seal was integrated to the "transmission". Purchased and installed the part myself ($365). Fast forward 5 days ago (unit is now 2.5 years old) and the electronic water valve assembly has failed ($85). I have ordered and will install yet again another part. If you are keeping tally, I purchased the unit for $684 NEW. Have since installed $492 dollars in parts MYSELF and the unit is not yet 3 years old. I would not recommend this product (or its Whirlpool equivalent) to anyone! Buyer Beware! 1 of 5 starts (ONLY because most rating systems don't allow for a 0).

If I would have known or seen the reviews before purchasing the washing machine I'd never have spent any money. I thought Maytag had a good name but they do not! They are terrible. I bought a washing machine that's only 3 years old. The top is glass. It flew off within 8 months of purchase. Now I have to do every load with tape over the top of it. I called them they said "oh we can gladly help you with a 10% off coupon to getting a new washing machine." No. I'm not okay with that!.
I really could kick myself for not reading the reviews before purchasing. That is something I have learned after buying this terrible faulty washing machine. I will always look at reviews before I purchase another thing. If it had a zero star I would have picked zero because that is giving them too much credibility by pushing one. I don't like that. I don't like even being able to give them a one star. Please do yourself a favor. Do not purchase from this brand. You will be telling yourself why did I do this like me. I guarantee you will. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Use a different brand. Do your research.

I bought this Maytag washer in October 2024 specifically for my 86-year-old mother-in-law. I chose it because it looked simple, was reasonably priced (around $509), and she would only use it occasionally for light loads. Less than a year and a half later, it’s already broken. We had to call an authorized Maytag repair service, which charged $109 just to diagnose the problem: the suspension system is shot. The repair quote? Another $250–$300 on top of the diagnostic fee. That means spending nearly $400 to fix a machine that originally cost $509. At that point, it’s almost cheaper (and certainly wiser) to replace it entirely. I contacted Maytag customer service directly to explain the situation and ask for some reasonable help—after all, this is a major failure on a relatively new appliance used very lightly. Their “best” offer? 20% off a brand-new washer. Seriously?
Why on earth would I want to buy another Maytag after this experience? They essentially told me to throw good money after bad with zero goodwill or accountability for a product that failed so prematurely. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. This feels like planned obsolescence at its worst. I cannot recommend this washer—or apparently anything from Maytag—to anyone looking for reliability, especially for elderly users or light-duty needs. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Asked for a replacement and was told they can’t consider it because the tech didn’t take a video. Now we’re waiting for another visit just to record proof. Extremely disappointing product and the worst customer service we’ve experienced ever, there's no way to escalate. We won’t be buying Maytag again!

This is hands down the worst purchase I’ve made in years. The PetPro washer failed after only five months due to a control board failure — completely unacceptable for a major appliance that’s barely broken in. It gets worse. I waited two weeks for a scheduled service appointment, only to be told the technician “couldn’t find my house.” No call. No warning. Just a missed appointment. Now I’m being forced to wait another two weeks for service. So I’m left without a working washer for nearly a month because of both a defective product and outright incompetence. This level of quality and customer service is appalling. A washer should not fail this quickly, and customers should not be punished with endless delays and excuses when it does. This entire experience has been 100% unsatisfactory, and I would strongly warn anyone considering this product to look elsewhere.

Please whatever you do, do not buy the Maytag dryer Model #MED5430MW0 if you aren't drying clothes for a large family. I am a single person who needs to dry a few shirts periodically. I actually can't dry a few shirts in this dryer because they caught up on the two large baffles (there are two large baffles and one short) in the dryer and just go round and round sitting wet on the baffles. I called Maytag customer service to possibly replace the two large baffles with two shorter ones, but they said that is how the dryer is designed and there is nothing they can do. Unless you always dry a large load, your cotton shirts will be unwearable due to the design of this dryer and the large baffles. I paid $800 for this dryer alone and will have to trash it. The Maytag washer I also purchased works fine. My mother always had Maytag washers and dryers. She loved them. I guess times have changed and "buyer beware!"

I bought a Maytag MVW7232HW2 washer from Lowe’s in 2023 and it has been defective since day one. As soon as it’s powered on, it immediately throws an F2E2 error code. Resetting the power does nothing — the error comes back instantly every time. This is a known control panel/UI failure. The same part has had to be replaced every year, yet Maytag keeps selling this model and refuses to fix the actual problem or stand behind their product. Replacing the same defective part over and over is not a repair — it’s a scam. Maytag customer service has been completely useless and unwilling to take responsibility. For a brand that markets itself as “dependable,” this washer is absolute junk. Waste of money. Waste of time. Avoid Maytag and anything associated with them.

I am disappointed with the quality, service and delivery of the Maytag washer. I bought a washer about 7 years ago. It broke down 7 months ago and I ordered the part to fix it. It was "back ordered" for 6 months until finally I was notified that the part would "never be in stock". Then I was given a discount for a new machine. I ordered it from the official website. The discount offered did not apply on the site. I have a discount for being a healthcare professional that I used to get a little off as the discount offered did not work.
The CS was unable to do anything about the malfunction on the site. The machine order went through and it was supposed to be delivered today. I did all the required preparedness including shoveling a 10 foot wide and 70 foot long pathway through 2 feet of snow. I cleared the way to the desired washing machine location in my basement. I moved out the old machine. I was told the new machine would arrive at 7:55 am today. It was then bumped to a delivery 2 weeks from now. The excuse was that it missed the transfer? It missed the what? It shows on the tracking site that it is about 1 hour from my house in a shipping facility. What is the reason that it cannot be brought out to me sooner than 2 week. CS was unable to do much about it. So I do not recommend working with this company. I am so sorry to have to say that Maytag is no longer a company you can rely on.

When the washer finally arrived, it was broken, so I refused delivery. I contacted customer care, but they were not helpful. They could not tell me when I would receive a replacement, and I was told that if I canceled the order, the refund would take 1–2 billing cycles (30–60 days). Meanwhile, the full amount was taken out of my account immediately. Because of this, we had to dispute the charge through our credit card company.

And I have 5 more scheduled for service at this time. Yes, they are under warranty but to go through that process is extremely time-consuming when you’re on the phone for one to two hours to try to schedule something and then they come out in two weeks look at it and Say that they need to order a board and then come out another two weeks later with the replacement board. “So typically four weeks to repair.”
Maytag does not seem to want to help in the big picture of taking care of this problem. They will not just send me the replacement motherboards directly. They insist a service tech has to come out and look at it first. When obviously this is an ongoing problem with this model. And I’m nervous about what’s gonna happen when the warranty goes out. Plain and simple, it doesn't get clothes dry. Yes, it is installed correctly, setting are correct, IT IS PLUGGED IN (duh). It took two 1 hour "Power Dry" dryings - 2 sheets, 2 pillow cases, and 2 socks are finally dry. Give me a break!! Any load, small, medium, large, any setting, it just doesn't perform. The matching washer is worse. It walks the floor, doesn't do the job,... The new "Biden" washers "swish" the clothes around rather than really give them a wash. Anyway.... Disappointed!!!

This is a FRONT LOAD DRYER... So that means every sock and shirt get WON'T get the right amount of dry? OR, we have to load just a sock and shirt???? OH WAIT... It says it's a top load so we've got to reinstall it on its back so we load from the top!!! COOL! Someone isn't too bright.... The ones who designed it, made it and wrote the description!!! A repairman came from Home Technology Solutions on 8/5/2025. He fixed it and said that he replaced a small motor and also repaired a broken wire under the machine.
On 9/9/2025, the washer broke down the third time. A repairman came from Home Technology Solutions and fixed it. He said it was a different broken wire under the machine. On 9/24/2025, the washer has broken down for the fourth time. A serviceman from Towson Appliance Service is scheduled for 9/30/2025. I suspect it will be another broken wire. Fortunately we purchased the 3 year warranty from Lowe’s. But it is a pain to have to repair it so often not to mention the inconvenience it causes us. It is not. I was told by the call center that the washing machine was fine when it obviously wasn't, and had recorded problems. Misleading “Commercial” Washer – Not What It Appears. I bought the Maytag Commercial Top Load Washer (MVWP586GW0) less than a week ago, and I’m already regretting it. I purchased this machine because it appeared to have old-school controls with real water level options. The knobs look like the classic Maytag I grew up with, but the truth is this washer is packed with hidden efficiency programming that overrides your choices.
Deep fill means nothing.
To make matters worse, I discovered Maytag’s return policy only works if the machine is unused. Once you run a load — even a first trial — you’re stuck. So now I’m three days in, thousands of dollars lighter, and saddled with a washer that doesn’t meet my needs. Furthermore, it’s doesn’t agitate your clothes to get them clean like the old school machines do. All it does is twist them up and tangle them into a wad. And it hardly agitates at all.
If you want a washer that actually fills up with water and washes like the old models, do not buy this one. Maytag is trading on their name and reputation while quietly sneaking in the same efficiency tricks as every other brand. It’s misleading, frustrating, and is a bait-and-switch. I should have saved my money and got a Speed Queen like I originally wanted. But Maytag compares this machine to a Speed Queen and leads you to believe they are comparable. They are not. This machine is just another “efficiency” piece of junk…only with a $1100 price tag. Don’t do it. I'm livid.

We bought the large commercial Maytag washing machine early 2025 and will never buy another Maytag again for several reasons. Selecting "Deep Fill" really means nothing, there are times you're lucky if the water covers your items in a small load. We can no longer use liquid fabric softener as it may or may not be rinsed out of the laundry leaving a cloudy discolored look the contents. The most annoying thing is when you start a load only to come back to a message saying empty the contents and run an empty load using affresh (this seems to be a weekly occurrence). There is no way to clear that message and use the wash until you empty everything and run it empty. Even though the previous load that came out of the machine was bleached whites (so you know it's not in need of cleaning).

My wife and I purchased a Maytag washer, Model # MVW5430MW, with a delivery date of 12/12/2023. In early April of 2025, the washing machine would not operate. I called Maytag and spoke with a person who explained that the machine was repairable for a large sum of money. What complicated the issue is that parts, once the matter was diagnosed, would take several days beyond the initial service call. Then, there is yet another wait for a return service call. All in, it was about 2/3 the cost of a replacement machine. Then, I was offered a discount on the purchase of a new machine. I refused after getting only 14 months of service from what we had just bought, a machine used only by an elderly couple. Instead, I purchased a competing brand with a warranty that actually means something. Maytag has lost their way. BUY SOMETHING ELSE!! By March, the dryer began making a noise similar to an airplane taking off, so I submitted a service order on March 17, 2025. A technician came promptly and advised that parts needed to be ordered, with an estimated arrival time of about two weeks. It is now August 25, and despite numerous calls to Maytag, the issue remains unresolved. On one occasion, after waiting on hold for 35 minutes, I was even told to “call back in a couple of weeks” to check on the status of the part. I have been repeatedly informed that the part has been ordered and “expedited,” yet this is the third time I’ve heard that assurance without results.
I am extremely disappointed with the level of service provided. I should not have to continually follow up; Maytag should be proactively updating me on the status of my repair. Furthermore, the fact that a brand-new dryer failed within two months of purchase is unacceptable. At this point, I am requesting either prompt resolution of the repair or that Maytag arrange to pick up the defective machine. Good thing they sent me $50 for the inconvenience. That wouldn't even begin to cover laundromat dryer fees if I wasn't able to use the machine. So disappointed.

Keep filling the bucket and adding water to the washer until all the clothes are covered. Stir with your hands. If desired, put bleach in another bucket of water, add to machine and stir again. Let soak for at least an hour, then close lid. Washer will immediately drain everything you just put in. Start new wash cycle, using either "bulky" or "towels" setting since all others are relatively low water. Wash a second time with no added cleaners to remove soap. This washer requires a special cycle with a special additive to "remove soap scum from the tub". Should be a dead giveaway about what it is leaving on your clothes.

My previous Maytag washing machine lasted for 18 years without any issues. When it gave up finally in February 2025, I went to BestBuy to purchase a replacement. The salesman insisted that Maytag appliances are not that reliable anymore and I should be looking at LG or Samsung models. But being a Whirlpool fan, I insisted on the Maytag brand, without believing him. God! How stupid can one be. The machine broke down 2 months later. It was giving various faults and error codes and refused to open the door. I called the service department who sent over a technician from a 3rd party service company. The technician manually opened the door and reset the faults. Thankfully the machine "magically" started working again without any needed repair.
After a month, the same errors appeared. I shut the power off and restarted the machine. After a few tries, the machine started working again. Last week, in the middle of a wash cycle, the error codes started flashing again and the door was locked. No matter how much I tried, this time it was a failure. That is when I called the service department to schedule a technician to come again. He visited me today and spent over 30 mins doing various checks. But he could not figure out what was wrong with the unit. So he is planning on replacing the whole Acu, the pressure switch and a brand new latch, hoping that it will solve the issue. He also said that he is not sure if that will fix the issue. After he left, I called the service department and they flatly said that I have to wait for the parts to arrive before anything can be done.
Let me ask you - if you were in my position, would you ever purchase a Maytag product, ever? How insensitive is the company to make suffer a loyal customer for weeks/months, spend $$$ more than what the unit is worth, when the simple answer is to replace the unit or refund the customer for their purchase and admit that Maytag appliance quality is down the drain. Well it went on to break a fourth time and after 5 total repairs and $350 spent they decided not to keep pouring money into a faulty product. It lasted less than two years and was a total piece of junk that made a god awful sound and leaked all over the place. They are a horrible company with dishonesty people. Not the Maytag I remember from those ads where the repairman was put out of job.

New Maytag top load washer. From beginning, constantly stuck in "sensing" mode. Took me 45 minutes last night to get washing cycle started. Unplugging done twice before it would start. Constant problem starting wash cycle. Beyond sickening and frustrating. Avoid Maytags!
