Brand New 2019 Model 465 Washer and like others are saying is a piece of junk as they do not fill the drum with enough water even on the Deep Water fill option. The laundry does not circulate and nothing gets clean. Maytag is really poorly designed and manufactured these days and a complete Rip Off!

Now here we are beginning of 2020 and washer is making grinding noise and did not spin out properly. Will not buy another Maytag, a washer should last more than 4 years. Poor quality product. Do not waste your money!

Bought a Maytag bravo xl washer and dryer two years ago. Spent around 1,500 dollars. Didn't make it a year before things started going bad on them. First the lid lock on the washer broke. I got the lid lock pulled out far enough that I could drill a hole in it and tie some thread to it to pull it out when the washer was ready to lock. Today the piece of junk just quit. Not long after the junk washer started messing up the dryer starts sounding like a fork in the garbage disposal. It still works and dries the close but you hate to even turn it on because of the noise. I will never purchase anything maytag again in my life. JUNK!

I purchased Maytag washer, as it was rated the best of the best at the store. First of all, Delicates cycle washes exactly like Normal. All my sweaters got ruined as the agitation is VERY HARD. I don't think the manufacture even knows what that cycle means! Absolutely awful! There's no difference between Delicates and any other cycle!
Second, "Deep fill" cycle. If you select "off" on that cycle the clothes get hardly damp. HOW can you wash hardly damp clothes???? If you go with Deep fill, the washer is supposed to "weigh" your laundry 1st and ONLY pour the water according to the weight. Well.... you can put only 5 small items and the washer fills all the way to the top! What the hell is this???? How can few items fill such a ginormous washer???? It doesn't work! I'm so pissed and want this washer out of my laundry room!

We purchased a Maytag Top Load 5.4 cu ft efficiency washing machine. May 2019. It was making a funny noise already mid October and we had 8 parts replaced. After that it completely stopped working. We have been without a working washing machine for 2 months now. The technician has been to our house 4 times. When he came on Dec 31st to replace the mother board, that didn't solve the problem. He says the washing machine can not be repaired. We have been fighting with Maytag Canada and Lowe's since the beginning of December. Neither company cares. We will never own another Maytag product. The company are crooks.

We (family of 2) purchased our Maytag Bravo XL Washing Machine Model#MVWB880BW in Nov. 2013 for over $700.00. Last week, Dec. 2019, the washer would not finish the rinse/spin cycle. The clothes were still wet. I researched troubleshooting in the Maytag booklet included with the machine and tried everything. It still showed an OL on the readout. It was not overloaded as I only had 3 towels, 3 washcloths, and 3 hand towels in the washer. I tried just the rinse/spin cycle alone to get the water out of the clothes, but they remained wet, and the OH still appeared on the machine.
When I called the place where we bought it, they suggested unplugging it, waiting and plugging it back into the outlet to possibly reset the machine. That seemed to work for 1 very small washload. The next day, I tried washing again and the OH appeared with the clothes still being wet. We had a repair person come out. The service call/diagnostic of $116.98 plus repairs of $304.41 plus $95.00 to install of the new Motor Control Board. I feel that cost is excessive for only 6 years of service.
Before we bought this machine in 2013, I had a Maytag which lasted over 20 years with NO problems. I always thought Maytag was the best washer, but this experience has proven to change my mind. We went out and bought another washer rather than replacing the board not knowing how long the new one would last. Needless to say, we did not buy another Maytag. I do not feel I can trust the Maytag products anymore.
After this experience, I did more research on the Direct Drive used in this particular model washing machine and found that it had been problematic. I would have thought Maytag would have offered a recall to avoid these costs/problems and avoid dissatisfied customers. Along with the original purchase of the Maytag washer in 2013, we did buy the matching dryer and are hoping the dryer will last longer than the washer. We shall see.... This has been an unexpected and expensive lesson.

We bought this washing machine 2 years ago and I was never really satisfied with how it cleaned the clothes. Darker pants would come out with white soap/water lines on them. The worst part, 2 years in, the washer basket seal failed and the bearings rusted. The washer sounds like a tornado every time it runs. I got a quote for $350 to repair it!

I've only had my Maytag Bravos XL Washer for two years and I HATE it. It constantly gets off balance during the rinse and spin cycle. What should take 30 minutes takes triple the amount of time. My washer is in the basement and I constantly have to run up and down the steps to readjust the clothes in the washer. I've started to just stand by the washer now during the rinse and spin cycle. What a waste of time. I would not recommend this washer to anyone. Also, it does an awful job of rinsing out the detergent and softener. All of my dark colored pants have detergent and softener residue on them after they come out of the washer. Ridiculous!

Maytag Bravos XL MCT (Disposable). Model number MVWB835DW3 Top load washer. I’ve read many of the reviews on the site and feel your frustrations. Let me start by saying, at least you have a choice of products. I’m stationed in Okinawa Japan and have ONE place to buy my appliances and a choice of two machines. Both of them are garbage Maytag products. The first one (model noted above) died after 18 months. NOTHING they could do! The “technician” they sent didn’t have a clue. The washer is designed to use low amounts of water. The top is glass so you can watch what is or is not happening. The manual states there should be clothes above the water after filling. However after the wash cycle with a full or even half full washer, there is still some dry clothes above the water. As a result the clothes are not washed until the rinse cycle. I called Maytag and a repair tech came out to fix it. His solution was to trick the sensors by dumping a pail of water on top of the dry clothes before starting the washer. The sensors think there are more clothes than there really is. Will never buy another Maytag or Whirlpool product again.

I purchased this washer in April 2017 from H/D. The machine started making funny grinding noise over this weekend. Had a tech come to house to repair. Tech said the insides are stripped, 300 plus in parts to repair and would be weeks to get parts. I called Maytag and they offered to send their own tech to see which parts and if any of them would be under warranty at a price of 109. I explained that I had an expectation that a washer would last longer than 31 months and spending another 109 dollars would be bad money after good with the 80 dollars for my tech. Maytag said take it or leave it. I am going to Lowes for a GE machine. DO NOT BUY THIS. IT WON'T LAST. I will admit, Tina from Tennesse, the Maytag customer complaint person was nice and professional but not actually empowered to do anything to help. I will recommend to my 5 kids never buy Maytag.

I have had may BravosXL washing machine for 5 years and it is now sitting on the porch waiting to go to the landfill. First Maytag washer we bought in 2003, worked flawlessly for 14 years, bought a new one in 2017 only because my wife wanted a bigger washer. Bought a Maytag top load MVWB765FW0. What a big mistake. In less than 3 years it has failed already. The water inlet valve went bad. Maytag offers no tech support because they want to charge you with a service call. I found out what was wrong by researching the problem and error code online and bought the part for $55.00 and fixed myself instead of them charging $100.00 just to show up at your door plus the part and labor. A washer failing in less than 3 years is totally unacceptable and I will never purchase another Maytag/Whirlpool product ever again. Someone needs to wake up at Maytag.

I have had two Maytag washing machines in the past. Both lasted 20 years. Three years ago I purchased my first Maytag front loader washer and dryer. The washer is terrible. Although I clean it regularly plus spend money buying Affresh tablets and leave both the door and the soap dispenser open, the washer smells and builds up tons of mold. Cleaning out the heavy mold in the soap dispenser area is almost impossible. I spray bleach in there and then try to stick my arm into the back where most of the mold accumulates. Can't really get it all. Also, there is a problem with the softener dispenser. It gunks up and gets clogged. Had to keep pouring hot water and vinegar into it. Contacted customer service who was no help - they simply wrote to clean the machine. Huh? The dryer turns sheets into a tight roll with the inside not drying.

I had the old style machine and finally it gave out and I bought an LG HE Large capacity. It was a well I can print it here but kept the machine for 5 years and gave it away. I bought a new Bravo Maytag set 5.2 with the old style agitator thinking I was going to get a great machine and NO. These new machines do not use enough water in the load sensing and clothes on top never get in the water. They come out with soap stains even with a double rinse. And no I am not using too much soap! My old machine had small medium and large load settings plus you could add more water if needed. Way better machine.
The techs are trained to tell you this is how the machines work and there is nothing wrong with them. Finally an honest tech told me they are having all sorts of complaints and problems. If all you wash is bedding and dress clothes you get by but if you really have soiled clothes you have to do a lot of prep and then stop in the middle of the wash cycle and rotate your clothes manually! Total BS for 8-900 dollar machines. Do yourself a favor and buy a front load. At least the clothes will get flopped in and out of the water and hopefully rotate so they actually get clean. That is what I am going to try before I go back to the old scrub board and tub!

I have been on the phone for 45 minutes trying to get them to pay me $128 for the failed motor that I will send them for inspection. They will not cooperate. They are hiding behind some BS policy. 3. After watching the machine wash the clothes I notice that agitator did not move all of the clothes down into the water, and that was probably because there was not enough water in the tub.
4. The machine gets out of balance easily and at that time the machine door is locked and you need to push the pause button and wait for it to unlock the door.
5. It's louder than my old Kenmore washer that we have had for 15 years.
6. The Maytag dryer does not dry as fast as my old Kenmore dryer that we have had for 15 years.

We bought our new Maytag top loading washer and matching dryer about 2 years ago. I am a busy woman so I haven't had the time to write a review, but today being my day off, once again I find myself frustrated and disappointed with this set. The washing machine has a huge capacity, which was a huge selling point for me, however, if I put more than a small load in, the clothes come out still dirty, stinky and even have dry spots on them where they weren't even in contact with the water. Even on "deep fill" it cleans the clothes inadequately, but at least they get wet. The dryer leaves the clothing rough and wrinkled unless I use the delicate setting, which I do for all cloths, and I use fabric softener liquid and a dryer sheet.
I had a front load washer and dryer before, and my clothes came out clean and beautifully soft, but I replaced them because of the musty smell problem from the washer. I wish I would have kept them and figured it out. This set is the worst and I spent so much money on them. It takes so long to wash a load of laundry, and there is no way to interrupt a cycle without it draining and starting over completely. I have tons of laundry to do and I started 2 hours ago and the first load is still going. Geesh!!! Don't buy a Maytag. I paid for the extended warranty, but they are not broken. They have sucked from the very beginning.

Disturbing that this product made it into production. I have the matching dryer too, and it's just as bad. First the washer rolls up clothes into a tight ball better than I could do if I did it by hand. Then it spins, setting the wrinkles in thoroughly. Then, even though I shake out the clothes before putting in dryer, after the clothes come out of the dryer (without letting them sit in there) - the clothes look like someone drove over them with a car while they were rolled up in a ball. Bonus: the clothes don't even get dried. I've watched the clothes in the dryer, the drum is designed so the clothes stick to the outside of it and go around, they never actually tumble or get any air circulation. What a disastrous product.

Maytag Bravos XL Washing Machine. After purchasing a supposed top-of-the-line product, the control panel went out after only 2 years of use. We purchased a Maytag Bravos Washer and companion dryer in March 2018. I like to wash our king size bedding often and liked that this model had no agitator and could accompany the large loads. I am using the extra rinse constantly since I don't trust the amount of water (not) used. The dryer however, is worthless! No matter the garment or setting, everything comes out in a ball. Tshirts are twisted and wrinkled and half wet. I end up rewashing almost everything then being a guardian for the dryer---checking and rechecking every load. Purchased this washer at the end of August and it was delivered the first week of September. On September 27th the rubber seal around the door somehow got tangled in with a shirt and was ripped off (absolutely no idea how that even could have happened) and spilled water all over the floor. I called Maytag on Sept 27 and they had a tech out here by October 2nd which was great. However, even though I had told them the problem and that the rubber seal was damaged the tech didn't bring one when he came.
I had to call them last week to find out what was going on - they had the tech call me and he said that the part had just shipped and he should have it by next week - Today, I had to call again as there was no follow-up from the tech and was told that hopefully the tech will come on October 21st once he gets the part as he hasn't received it yet. I regret purchasing Maytag, as I had heard they had better service (local techs/parts warehouses) than LG or Samsung but that doesn't appear to be the case. 3 Weeks to repair a $1400 washer that I used for about 4 weeks is unacceptable. On top of the inconvenience I've had to spend $40+ dollars a week at a laundry mat, plus waste my time. One star service.

There was a loud sound coming from it. I called the repairman back and he said it was the gear case and basket. He said the basket was covered under the warranty but the gear case wasn't. Would be about $750 to fix....no way was I paying the cost of a new washer to fix this less than 4 yr old one. I called Maytag. They couldn't help me. I should have purchased an extended warranty they said. After everything posted here why would anyone take a chance buying any Whirlpool product including all subsidiaries. I made the mistake of buying a Maytag washer and dryer less than 3 yrs ago. There are only 2 people in the household and we only wash linens, towels and undergarments- the rest goes for dry cleaning. The washer stopped filling with water, similar to what was posted by another customer. Maytag customer service was 2 weeks out.
When the service tech arrived he diagnosed the problem as a faulty water value but didn’t have the part- another week. I asked the tech why it takes 2 weeks to get someone out for a service call- he told me that there were 4 techs working the area but 2 quit and they were never replaced. The tech went on to say that he was leaving because of the misdirected grief he gets from customers because “the Whirlpool brand is crap”, it takes to long to get service and usually the cost is more than the appliance is worth- and they take it out on him. That is not hard to understand.
Bottom line- IF THE SERVICE TECH IS TELLING YOU THE BRAND IS “CRAP” what else do you need to know. FYI- Maytag repairman quoted a new water valve at $70, labor $150 for a total of $230. I paid $600 for the machine- is this a joke? The exact same part was available on Amazon for $43 and was delivered in a day. With the help of a YouTube video I replaced the part in 10mins. On top of the fact that the appliance is crap, it would have taken 3 weeks to get fixed- Maytag is also screwing customers with overpriced parts that shouldn’t have to be replaced in the first place- fair warning, STAY AWAY.

Thank you all for taking the time to write these reviews. My only regret is that I am reading it now, I wish I would have read it before purchasing my own Maytag washer and dryer... I bought a Maytag MVC565FWI / YMEDC555DW1 washer and dryer duo in December 2018. I had some holes in my sons clothing, but thought maybe they were due to him being a boy of 17 year old in college, sitting all day... Also my dryer was barely drying.
Called and had a 1st technician for the dryer issue. He said no wrong code and to try and clean the evacuation vent. As I am a renter, I contacted my owner to do so and he did. But I did not get to try the machine unfortunately since 5 days after the technicians visit, I was deploying to Africa. I am military and was deployed for 8 months. Upon me return, dryer still barely dries and HOLES in every load of laundry that I do. My son's and also my own clothing. This time, there is no mistaking articles that I put in came out with huge circular holes.
A second visit with a technician is arranged, last Tuesday October 8th 2019. Still no 'codes' are found. And technician suggest's cleaning the conduct better. Again my owner does so. Again, up to 4 cycles of 60 min on High heat to dry articles. No economy on energy on these models! I have called Maytag today since no one has contacted me in a week for my wrecked clothing. To my request of having my appliances either replace or refunded, they say no. Policy is to send a technician. Again. After 2 visits of technical support, Maytag is sending me for a 3rd time a technician (at my cost if nothing is found again) to 'test' the appliances. Since the technicians can not find a 'code' on his machine, Maytag is telling me they will do nothing.
I have a washer dryer that wrecks my clothing and does not dry them. (Also I feel like my clothing are never fresh scenting, I wonder how efficient they are with even the basic cleaning part..) I will have to put them in the garbage, because how can I sell them?! Talking to Maytag, is being treated like an infant that does not understand THEM, when in reality, they do not back their products at all. I feel left alone with brand new machines that have been used around 30 times in under 1 year, that I will have to through away in the dump and never ever buy from this company again. M.

I called and spoke to a very kind lady who assured me that even if we were outside the one year manufacturer's warranty, they would offer us the extended warranty without question because it was so close to the one year purchase. She took my credit card, we were charged for a five year plan and service was scheduled.
After service, both units were still louder than I would prefer but the technician said it was "common". Over the last few months, both have become louder and louder. Now the dryer shuts off and won't stay on. When I called back to schedule service again, the date of our purchase was all of a sudden in question. (I applied for the contract over the phone so THEIR rep entered the purchase date.) They are now telling us they will only honor the cost of parts and we are subject to pay for diagnostics and labor (which is the largest cost of repair). They are telling us our contract has to be cancelled and AFTER we receive and PAY FOR all but the parts, we can call and pay for a NEW contract. This has been the WORST appliance purchase we have EVER made and we have lost all confidence in the quality of Maytag/Whirlpool appliances. Both units have been VERY disappointing and we spent over $700 on each unit. NEVER AGAIN.

The way the outlet line and pump are set up, the Maytag Bravos does not remove all water from the bottom leaving about 2-3 inches. Even following the monthly cleaning and care has not stopped the inside of the tub from producing MOLD. When I contact Maytag there was nothing they could do about this problem. At this point my washer is only a few years old. I attempted to clean it myself but the drum would not break free. My options are, deal with the smell of mold and mildew, Pay Maytag $250 to come out and clean it (this would need to be done every 1-2 years) or buy a new washer. NOTE: I paid about $550 for this one. I have run a few clean cycles with bleach, but I think at this point the mold has embedded itself into the plastic tub.

Don't buy their washers. Plain and simple. Will never ever buy Maytag again. This washing machine is garbage and I paid a lot of money for it. 3 months out and it had to have the entire circuit board replaced. I was assured that this was the issue. It has never cleaned our clothing, in fact, they come out twice as dirty and with soap. We've used the Affresh, we've put as little as 1 tablespoon of detergent, we've triple washed several loads and still ended up having to wash them by hand in the tub. Changing the circuit board did nothing. We've tried setting it to max fill (which it does) and everything still comes out the same. It's not the water, it's not the water hook ups (previous washer worked great but was old, should have kept it).
This is the worse product that I've spent almost a thousand dollars on. It's a paperweight. On top of this, it twists your clothes into a mass. I expect companies to be honest about their products and provide what I paid for. How many times does this washer have to be "fixed" before you will call it a bad design? I'm having to literally do all my laundry by hand for the last 8 months. I want my money back so I can buy a good quality product that works. I could have bought a $300.00 washer that would have done better then this. You want more proof, go read their Facebook replies to all their posts. It's all complaints about their washing machines. It would be nice for once to see a company fess up and say they made a design error. But that won't happen. Their money is more important.

Updated on 10/09/2019: Well I wrote a review on my brand new Maytag washer that we bought at Lowe's in June. When I wrote the last review I was waiting for our repair. They did come to repair and I was told by the repair guy (keep in mind the washer was only 2 months old at the time) that there were 3 fail codes. He said that it was overloaded or loaded wrong.
That you can't wash towels with sheets, you can't wash any kind of rug no matter the size, which I only wash small bathroom rugs that are NOT oversized or heavy, you can't wash tennis shoes (which I have not). So I asked him what is the point of investing in what is supposed to be a top of the line, heavy duty, extra large tub, commercial washer? He said that you can't do that with any machine. I told him our old washer that we had 13 years had no problem with washing towels & sheets together. My point is that I am 100% disappointed in this washer & I encourage you to NOT buy Maytag, apparently they no longer live up to their brand.
Original Review: We did our research & comparing & this machine came up on top. Its size suites our needs & we were excited about all the great features. We purchased it in mid July of 2019 so it's 2 months old & for the last month it started to shut off in the middle of a wash cycle. At first we thought that maybe we were doing something wrong. So we would re-start it & it worked. Fast forward 3 weeks, it was doing it almost every time. Now it isn't working at all, it starts to fill up then shuts down before it starts to wash.
Today is a Friday & I called Maytag to request a service call under the warranty (60 days old) Maytag had me on hold for 19 minutes before I could even talk to someone! The customer service person (once she was on) was very nice & sympathetic but couldn't get anyone out to service our machine until Tuesday, which is a HUGE inconvenience since we have not been able to wash for the last 3 days. I am highly disappointed in the machine for the simple reason that I paid for a new topnotch machine because my old one that 13 years old finally gave out & now am in the same situation & in for $1000 I paid for this new washer & having to go pay to do laundry 2 MONTHS later! I will add to my review once they have performed the service call to see if the issue is resolved or the machine replaced if they can't fix it.

Bought the set at Home Depot. The gear box went out after 2 1/2 months of use. I called the manufacturer warranty site and spent close to an hour on the phone then was given an appointment to have a service repair person "look" at it. Two days before the scheduled service call they called and said they would have to move the appointment out by a week. After diagnosing the problem, oil all over the floor and stained clothes from the oil, was told it could be up to 2 weeks until the part arrived and installed. So my warranty is being used up while the machine is out of service for a month. Beware of buying a Maytag!!!

I would have given this washer/dryer a 0 star, but wasn't able to. Bought the pair and first thing, couldn't get enough water in the tub, clothes wallowing around for an hour in the few cups of dirty water that it allows. Can't even believe how terrible this combo washer and dryer is! Now I get to wash everything in this piece of ____ twice, thank you Maytag! Just took out a load and it is dingy and stinks, so now it's wet, on the floor waiting it's turn to go back for another wash (possibly even a third).
If you want clean clothes, do NOT get this washer. Dryer has issues also. For whatever reason, the AF signal has been on for a couple of months. Turn it off and back on and it's okay for a bit, then back on. It's the Air Filter. It's not plugged, so I don't know, I just keep using it with intervals of resetting it altogether. What a total waste of money. Am going to give it away for free as soon as I find a replacement! Save yourself a huge headache and look elsewhere than Maytag. Oh, and if Maytag happens to read my review, you can contact me for a refund any time, just respond to this post, you can even come pick it up and get it out of my home. Thanks a bunch!

Bought this machine with the intention of having at LEAST 10 problem free years with it. It's a Maytag after all. Not an unreasonable expectation. Within the first 2 years, the machine sounded like the bearings were going out (heavy, grinding noises when it shifted gears). Repairman came, replaced the entire drum (only way to get to the gears, I guess). Didn't fix a thing. Then the rinse and spin cycle on ANY wash cycle randomly quits. Just stops. Full load of wet, soapy clothes, sitting in the tub while an LD error code quietly flashes.
It's not uncommon for it to take two full days of screwing around with this machine to get one load of clothes done. Have to UNPLUG the machine, let it sit for about an hour, and try again. It is the biggest waste of money ever and I will NEVER buy another Maytag nothing. Contacted Maytag and they recommended I call a repairman...REALLY? REALLY? Gee, I wish I had thought of that. Repair guy has been to my house so damn many times for this machine, we are now friends on Facebook. Don't waste your money on this machine.

After talking with several managers in the Lowe’s warranty department, we were told that we had to contact Maytag directly about that particular problem. Okay, no big deal. We called and every single time we were put on hold for at least 30 minutes before we were hung up on. Not once did we even get to speak to a person. I called Maytag/Whirlpool to see if they would help with the cost of the part. I am 60 years old and the only one who uses the washing machine. It is not beat up. Maytag would not offer any solution at all and refused to even pay for any part of the control panel. They said it was really my tough luck for not having bought the extended warranty. When you spend so much for an appliance, you do not expect it to only last three years and you should not need an extended warranty. I am so disappointed and I will never buy a Maytag or anything from its parent company Whirlpool.

Not only is the dryer junk, so is Maytag support and service. I have owned this dryer for 2 years; my previous dryers lasted about 20 years each. This one is on its 4th service call, none of which are apparently under warranty (well, except the first one). From what the techs who come out here tell me, the design and build are both poor. I will never own another one of these; if I can stretch it out one more year, then we'll replace it.
For now, the drum won't turn. There is a nylon support bushing (and possibly more) that degrades immediately upon use. There are only two of us, with about 3-4 loads per week. This was supposed to be "Commercial Technology." The only thing commercial about it is that you have to rely on commercial laundries to get the drying done. It is good that the drum has a 10 year warranty - it will make a nice planter out by the front gate.

My husband bought a washing machine for me, February 2019, based on my request for a top load and a quick cycle time. The first issue was that the washer and dryer was the wrong color. I didn’t realize that he had ordered a stainless steel set before I accepted it. When he got home and discovered it, he called and tried to get the correct color, and Maytag refused to correct the mistake. When the technician starts the washer and dryer before they leave to make sure it’s working, it immediately becomes a used item that they can’t sell is what they explained to my husband! The technician also didn’t remove a plastic bag from the dryer vent that I asked him to check on before he attached the hose to the wall! Took me 2 days to figure out why the machine wasn’t drying the clothes properly!

And I’ve been washing clothes for almost 30 yrs! I discovered today that this washer only washes for 10 minutes in the soapy water and then begins draining! Unbelievable! This washing machine that takes 40+ minutes to complete a load of laundry! This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a washer in 30 years of doing laundry! It’s washing day today, so I’m angry, frustrated and livid to do it in my Maytag machines. I’m 72 years old and been doing this for 53 years. It’s not a job you love to do but you do it. I finally get to be able to afford whatever machines I want, so what do I do, buy Maytag. They are beautiful, see through top load, and see through dryer. So finally I get to use them, what a letdown. I don’t understand how they can put these machines on the market. Unbelievable! Also very expensive. The sensor for the water level is way off. It starts washing with hardly no water covering the clothes so this is where I put it on pause and add buckets of water to wet at least the clothing.
I did a test to see how the clothes moved inside when washing. It was a load of white towels and I put in a bright green face cloth to see how it moved around in there. Well what a surprise, it stayed on top and moved about 3 inches to the right. That’s all it did. You don’t call that washing, I call that soaking! Terrible washer! I could go on and on but I’m getting too upset.
Now for the dryer, the sensors don’t work right so what I do is use the timer and the temperature buttons only. Sometimes clothes gets stuck under the lint basket and by the time the buzzer tells me the load is finished drying, it is so twisted that it’s wrinkled forever. It has ruined a beautiful tablecloth of mine. I can’t sell these machines because I would feel very bad to pass them to someone else…Maytag does but not me. Because of my age I won’t be getting new machines probably, I’m stuck with them, but I would advise anyone shopping for a new washer and dryer, go out there and see what they have, come back home and look for reviews which I did not. Bad mistake! Note: I searched everywhere to write this review to Maytag on their website, none to be found!

What a scam! Energy and water saving? Nope. You have to use "Deep Water" and Heavy wash type with extra rinse to get clothes clean. My clothes get all bunched up and tangled. Sheets wrap around in a tight bundle that is difficult to untangle. How can clothes get clean when they are tightly bound up in a bundle? I have to count on my clothes dryer to pick up all the dust and lint that remains on the clothes after washing.
Videos show what happens when you do a load of bedding. I also wanted a washer with simple dials and separate wash cycle selections, rather than complex, locked cycles. But guess what? Even though this was sold as having a soak cycle, it only soaks for 15 minutes, then automatically drains. I wanted to control how long it soaked (for Oxy cleaning that needs longer soaks). What a mistake to buy this. Hang onto and your older washer as long as you can, repairing it.

The washer drum fills up with very little water, very little. I can do an entire load of laundry and the stuff on top doesn't ever get wet. Went on Spring Break in Florida and a month later our clothes still smell like the beach. Grill out, and I smell steaks the next time I put on the shirt. Stain your clothes in any way, it's there forever unless you hand wash it first.
To get it to work at all, each time I have to start the wash cycle (I leave the soap out just to save it for the next start), let the drum fill with water, pause it, get all the clothes wet, then cancel the cycle. After it drains and the machine is off and full of wet clothes, then start it all over again adding soap this time. On the second try, set at deep cycle, it will add enough water to cover the clothes - I'm guessing because it senses more clothes because the clothes are now wet from the first, cancelled cycle. During the wash cycle, I'll open the lid and robustly move everything around, almost hand washing. #Handy. The dryer is fine, I'm keeping it. The washer, can't return it - been three months of this frustration (kept believing it was me, reset it multiple times, change the settings, tried everything). I'm buying a new one and throwing this junk out. $700 lesson.

After 6 months the control panels showed issues but I worked around or a year just to get the laundry done. Then last week the panel lights went crazy and I couldn't get any cycle to work. Customer service was impossible, they wanted the serial and model number on the machine.
Mine was gone basically, the decal used was basically washed away and unreadable. What a joke. And, they didn’t believe me. They were able to find my expired year warranty but wouldn’t give me the numbers, sending a new decal to replace. In the meantime my husband called our service people who said to fix would be $450 but it might happen again, they said they did lots of repairs on Maytags and recommend another name brand with a 10 year warranty for $800 and can replace in two day. However when using the auto sensor there's such a small amount of water in the drum it does not cover the clothes being washed and often I have items of clothing come out of the wash cycle and rinse cycle with dry spots on them yet. Purchased a non agitator washer 1 year ago. Constant frustration with the sensing technology. Cannot select a water level or load size. The expectation is that the machine will do that automatically. The water dispenses through the soap container adding soap to dry clothes which then leave white marks on dark clothes. All of the selections for loads do not have a water level close to covering the clothes. The only way to achieve coverage is to reopen the lid multiple times to restart the sensing feature.
Another option is to add wet clothes to increase the weight to “fool” the sensor. Some clothes have come out of the wash still dry in areas. Every load, no matter what size takes a full hour to complete! There is no quick load to be done! I have paused the cycle to leave the house and the water drains from the machine causing you to begin your 1 hour cycle again. Epic fail by the Engineers to provide a user friendly machine. This one, as time goes on, just becomes more frustrating and yes very noisy during the spin cycle.

This young man was non-verbal, was probably 20 and it was impossible to communicate and try to figure this out. Person sat through a full cycle and he said the noises are because the machine is out of balance. Well, why did the sync system not balance at the beginning of the cycle. No answer to that. He reported to Maytag that nothing was wrong with the machine.
Machine is still making noises and I cannot wash a small load or it will still be wet at the end of the cycle. I am a widow and live alone. I don't wash large loads. So I called Maytag again. They don't care. Finally they agreed to send another "2nd opinion". I have a lot of videos of the machine making strange noises and the repair kid does not care...lots of blank stares from him. The warranty doesn't cover cosmetic defects beyond 30 days, and the warranty for the rest of the machine is only one year. There's a reason for that - the machine will undoubtedly have problems after that. Multiple calls to Maytag/Whirlpool and they do not care. Terrible product, terrible customer service. Maytag Bravos XL MVWB980BGO. To start, I live on an acreage so some problems may be related to being on well water. The most annoying part is the washer doesn’t have a drain & spin without rinse. So, when my well pump started acting up, I had no way to just drain & spin off the load, so I had to try to lift thoroughly soaked clothes and try to dry them...which took about four hours. Another aspect that is a pain is uneven loads. It keeps trying to fill, instead of just stopping & letting me adjust the load myself. Then the damn thing won’t reset. I often have to resort to unplugging the machine and starting over.
High efficiency is a joke. I’ve had the machine about five years now and it goes low flow error, even though the flow is fine. I’ve tried running cleaners through the water line and it’s still doing the same thing. The only thing left to try is take the machine out and try and manually go through the lines. For the amount of money we spent on this machine, I am thoroughly disgusted with how it runs. It is the first & last Maytag washer that I will ever buy. We circle clothes around the agitator and only fill the machine a third of the way full. This is the only way to ensure clean clothes. We use HE soap.
As if this hasn’t been bad enough, the entire motherboard seems to be glitching out. It throws a different code each load and sometimes won’t start. Other times it won’t stop. It isn’t safe to use when we aren’t home or are asleep, making the time delay feature useless. Last night the machine ran for 2.5 hrs on a 1hr 30 min estimated deep water wash. After explaining this issue to the customer service rep, she insisted that the only thing that Maytag would stand behind was the part if needed. A service call would be between $100 - $150. The microwave isn't even that old and why would Maytag not stand behind a like new unit? I bought 3 Maytag products and I am now regretting it. I had asked to speak to a supervisor and she just proceeded to repeat the same thing the sales rep did. They will only cover the "cheap" part if needed.
What happened to Maytag being top of the line? Apparently they don't care about standing behind their products and would rather you buy an expensive extended warranty to cover their cheaply made appliance. I think they should be under review as a company. I would somewhat understand paying if my appliance was 5 to 10 years old. But it's basically new. How is there no protection for customers when it comes to purchasing lemons from an appliance dealer? I will NEVER buy Maytag again and plan on selling my 2 other newly purchased appliances before they have issues. Maytag's reviews on social media are terrible. After a few washes, it developed a loud clicking noise during the entire wash cycle. Inquired about it at the retailer we purchased it from (showed them video of it) and was told it was not supposed to make that noise. Subsequently the Maytag Repairman paid us a visit and told us there's nothing wrong with the machine and that the retailer should not have told us what they did.
#1). The machine did not make that noise initially. It started after a few loads of laundry. #2). The first machine we brought home was the same model (only larger) and that one didn't make that noise. To add insult to injury, the repairman has the audacity to tell my husband, "Well, this visit didn't cost you anything". Really?! It cost him 4 hours of pay while he sat home waiting for you! In addition, we were delivered two cosmetically defective dryers that had to be returned. Furthermore, when I was washer/dryer shopping, I sent Maytag's Customer Service Dept. an e-mail through their website asking questions about the product. To this day, I have still not received a response. I had a bad experience about 20 years ago with Maytag, but thought I'd give them a second chance. I tell you...there will not be a 3rd time.

Should have researched before purchasing our Maytag Bravos MCT washer! We purchased it at Home Depot and it was delivered and installed by a certified technician. From day one it has been so loud and obnoxious with the way it “knocks” and “clicks” when it runs through a cycle. When it spins the whole machine shakes viciously, despite being balanced properly at installation.
We have owned this washer just short of two years and for the last 8 months we have had to keep unplugging it to reset it so that it will even run through one cycle. The most recent two months have been extremely frustrating, due to the fact that not even troubleshooting can aid in “fixing” the fact that this piece of crap washer will not complete a wash cycle! It either stays in sensing mode & doesn’t add water, or it adds water but doesn’t do anything but sit still for about 15 minutes and then drains all the water back out and stays stuck on “wash”. We are researching online and have found many similar complaints with the same negative experiences. Our next step will be to call a repair person! What a crock!!! Maytag gets a big “thumbs down” from us!!!!

Don't buy this machine. Although it is an HE machine and supposed to save on water, it does not give enough water to at least cover the clothes. I had repair come in and they changed the computer but no improvement. The cycles determine the water amounts not the type of clothes you are washing. So if I only a few things I use cold water wash, if I have a half load I use deep water wash and have to add water to it. It's ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and get an LG. I wish I had.

TRASH! Bad, Destructive, Dangerous. I am in awe of the worthless, destructiveness of this machine. This washing machine does not add enough water to even cover clothing. It agitates, tangles & tears clothing. You end up with dirty filthy tangled clothing. And this is after waiting for it to make some kind of idiot decision as to whether or not to wash your clothes at all. I frequently go out and it’s made a decision not to start at all. There also is no lint filter, so subsequent loads of laundry are dirtier than the first. You can’t wash clothes without enough water to cover them. I read online that it adds water depending on the weight of the clothing, so wet the clothing first to make it think it’s a heavier load. When you do that it spins the clothes first before it begins to wash them. Your clothes still come out of the machine dirty. If you’re looking for revenge, make someone a gift of this washing machine. Otherwise, put it out with the trash.

I have to pour a bit of water on the clothes so the sensor thinks it’s a heavy load and do an extra rinse. And I saw that on a video regarding this washer trick. But I’m wasting more water cause I have to rearrange the clothes when done. I put the top ones on the bottom and start over. To me it’s a waste of effort sometimes I just go to the laundromat. So, I bought the biggest washer to wash bigger loads and now you are telling me that just doesn’t work.
Spoke with Maytag customer service. They said very rudely if there is no problem found when the technician came out, there is nothing they will do. She told me it was user error. My dryer also stopped working. Sometimes it would turn on, sometimes not. The technician said the lint screen error code came up. My husband and I purchased the Bravos XL washer and dryer set about a year ago as our first big washer/dryer purchase for our new home. We spent about $1200 on the set from Home Depot. I very much regret this purchase as the washer never gets our clothing clean! The washer never puts enough water in the basin and the clothing comes out with strange white smudges EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
I have tried changing detergent, I have tried skipping fabric softener, I've tried rinsing out the dispenser thinking it was residue from old soap. I don't know what it is, but what I DO know is that the clothes go in without the white smudges and come back out with them for every load. I have to run a second rinse cycle just to get it off, which means I'm washing for at least an hour and a half. I DESPISE this machine and it's costing me more on my water bill.
Additionally, the dryer isn't much better. It constantly shuts itself off even when it's not on energy saver mode, with the little red light going on for air flow. I've checked the connection and don't see what the issue is. If I have a big load such as blankets in there, I have to dry them all individually for almost an hour just to dry my bedding! It simply won't stay on to dry a full load. I very much regret my purchase and wish I'd gone with something simpler and cheaper as it would have done a much better job with my laundry. My husbands sweaty workout & gardening clothes smell worse, even with subsequent washes & his shirts have white spots from the detergent not even being washed out.
The rinse cycle water just washes out the bottom of the machine while the clothes are plastered against the side of the machine. I do not wash my husband's clothes with anyone else's or it all smells and if he washes them twice, they still have that odor that comes from being dank. We bought the Maytag Bravos washer & dryer combo from box store. I wanted an extra large capacity washer to accommodate king sized bedding, and having fewer wash loads in general. Cons: 1 - This machine is not energy efficient when each wash load takes 1:30 to 1:50 each load. 2 - The detergent/fabric softener/oxi dispensers are a joke. Water dumps into every compartment at once. And if there’s still detergent left by the rinse cycle, well you get the picture.
3 - The “Bedding” setting is the only one which will provide enough water in the tub to get anything wet. Since there isn’t any type of agitator the clothing/bedding just floats on the surface in dirty perfumed water. 4 - With any of the other settings the water level is so low it doesn’t always get everything wet so items are not being washed properly. At most maybe 2 pairs of jeans or just a few t-shirts can be washed on the “Normal” or “Power Wash” settings. 5 - Because there isn’t an agitator, clothing gets knotted up. Dress shirts, dress pants, jeans, towels, you name it, everything comes out of the washer in a knotted mess.
The Bravos XL Dryer: My only complaint with the dryer is that it allows a good amount of lint to pass through into the machine. Then it’s difficult to get any type of lint brush into the vent area to remove the lint. Dampened lint in the machine can make clothing smell musty and nasty. I had to call a service to remove lint from the dryer & ducting because of the odor lingering from the inside the dryer.

So, I had my plumber put in hot and cold water faucets, then he put a short "Y" hose on, so this way I can add water to the machine.... The only thing is, you have to wait for the machine to fill with what it "thinks" is enough water to get your load clean.... stop the washer, then add the water you need. But if it reaches a certain point, it will automatically start draining. So you have to watch and make sure you stop adding the water, before reaching that point!

Reviewed April 7, 2019
First, the machine is a wrinkle monster no matter what I try. I wash my clothes on delicate cycle to keep the colors longer and so my clothes last longer. This has never been a problem with previous washers. I take them out IMMEDIATELY as soon as the door unlocks and shake them out and hang everything to dry. This worked great previously and I never had to iron anything or put anything in the dryer to get wrinkles out. Now, this washer wrinkles my clothing to an unbelievable extent so that they need to be ironed or a round in the dryer to relax them. This is true on Wrinkle Guard and using the delicate setting, set between medium and none on the spin cycle. Wrinkle Guard? I don’t think so. This thing wrinkles my No Iron shirts so they will have to be ironed or steamed.
The washer leaves lint like residue most all of the time on dark clothing from day one. I most recently did a load of black only clothes that I did on delicate, soil level between med to extra heavy, spin speed between med and none, and, because of the dirty clothes issue, I had the extra rinse on. The clothes came out dirtier looking than they went in and looked like I washed them with a box of tissues and too much soap. They looked dirtier than before I washed them and had a whitish and lint like residue on everything. So I ran them through the same cycle/extra rinse again but WITHOUT any soap. Unfortunately I didn’t watch to see how much water the machine sensed that these loads needed and I didn’t see how much water was there - but I did for other loads after - see the next problem below. After the second identical cycle, the clothes had the same residue which I photographed and have enclosed below. (And still a wrinkled mess.)
We have found that the water sensor can’t sense the proper water level needed and is likely not functional. Sometimes it seems like it might almost be be appropriate and sometimes not at all. Specifically, after I ran the black load through, I decided to try a small red load before my usual large blue load just to see how much water there was. Same settings as above, 6 small items that barely covered the bottom of the drum and the washer sensed a medium load. Certainly by volume of clothing this was not a medium sized load and if it goes by weight, it was the smallest load possible! Medium water level…
These clothes seemed to agitate ok because they were completely submerged in water and came out clean. Then I did the much larger blue load that filled the drummer then halfway. This had so many more items than the red load and weighed way more. I tried the same settings as above and this time the machine sensed a SMALL load and the water level was barely halfway up the clothes, if even that much. So half of the clothes were out of the water and we watched and witnessed that the clothes did not agitate properly.
This load came out like the black load so I ran the whole cycle again including the double rinse. This time, the same load was sensed to be a MEDIUM load although NOTHING changed except that the clothes were damp and lower in the tub as they were compressed from having gone through the entire wash cycle. They came out mostly clean, after the second wash, again, likely because this time they were almost covered by the water (2/3rds or so) and could move around a little better but still not great agitation.
There almost never seems to be quite enough water so that the clothes are not able to move by the agitator and sometimes we watch and can see that the clothes above the waters never get pulled into the water. I understand that this machine may not completely cover the clothes but this seems way short on water and the fact that things usually come out dirty means something is wrong. There is often so little water that the agitator can’t possibly work the clothes into the water. So, next I ran an Oxi cycle and witnessed that about half of the items were not in any water and were only wet because of the filling cycle not because they were moved around by the agitator. How can the oxi do its job if the clothes aren’t in the solution of at least wet from the solution which I didn’t see as likely as the clothes didn’t seem to move through much if at all?
Along with the same water sensing problem, why on earth isn’t there a manual water adjustment? If the water sensor doesn’t work, the other option is only the high fill setting. After finding my clothes still dirty when we first got it, I tried the high fill setting to see if this would help but the clothes still came out with that residue. This was the very first few loads I ran and was assuming it was just user error so I studied the manual and tried everything as recommended. Since reading that residue can result from too much water, I use the recommended sensing feature now. So, we can either have too much water or barely any at all…

He said I needed to spread the clothes out manually along the outer sides of the TUB only, prior to washing the clothes! not over the impeller. I am not kidding! This is a open tub, so the impeller is the little thing in the middle on the bottom. I advised him, I videoed the event and even with three socks in it for a test it still squeals like a (well you get the idea). Trying to get Maytag help, but nowhere. Matching dryer door hinge broke first week, it has been repaired. Not good quality at all for the top of line Maytag. Then Maytag Man must be busier these days, than of old.

6 week old High Efficiency Washer leaves lint and soap lines. I've tried deep water wash plus the 2 rinse settings and I still have to wash the load twice to get rid of the lint lines and soap lines. I've also tried every combination of settings to no avail and I follow the guide to a tee because this machine actually weighs the clothes to determine the water level. Maytag customer service was polite but useless. I'm assuming it's the poor design but customer service says I will be charge for the warranty service call if no problem is found. Maytag, another fine company down the drain. PS, parts are made in China.

This washer was the biggest disappointment I have ever had. When I looked at it in the store I was excited that the tub was so big and the Maytag Label has always been trustworthy to me and my family. This machine certainly has disillusioned me against Maytag. I can only wash clothes on the bulky sheet cycle because even with "deep water wash" it only puts about 2" of water to wash clothes. Clothes on top don't even get wet! It doesn't take an engineer to figure out that you can't wash clothes without water.
Big mistake! Would never recommend this washer to anyone! I complained directly to Maytag and never received a response. I have had to rewash clothes because they did not get clean. Even with an extra rinse the clothes still have enough soap in them to make my skin irritated. My whites are not white even though I use hot water and follow all of the directions provided with the machine. If there was any way I could afford it, I would throw this machine out to the garbage and get one that actually cleans the clothes. I will never buy another Maytag machine in my life.

We bought a new commercial Maytag washer. It’s deep, it has the agitator, suppose to be the top of the line. I can do sheets and the top ones are dry when done. It doesnt get clothes clean especially if they are really dirty. So I add water to this wonderful machine——anyone wanting pictures of finished clothing I would be glad to send to you. Dirty jeans come out dirty jeans. If I forget and don’t add water it’s worse. So I watched it. It fills up to maybe halfway on clothes and this is on heavy soil and deep fill. I complained about it at the store and was told “he had one and it did fine” and you can’t get any that do any better.

We have balanced it and tried loading it in different ways but when it starts to spin it apparently tries to 'even' the load somehow that results in very loud noises and movement of the washer in the laundry room. Terrible machine. If we could afford it we would trash this one in a heartbeat and buy a different brand.

Washer never worked correctly, called and had exchange set up for February 9. Washer was delivered on February 9 and again we had a horrible experience with the delivery drivers. They scratched the washer. The owner of the delivery company came to our home making sure everything was correct. Washer worked well for two and a half weeks. Then I noticed the water was slowing down when it was filling. Then this morning the washer completely stopped filling. We called Maytag and they told us we could not get anybody here until next Saturday. They were rude on the phone. We then called Home Depot where we purchased it and said we want to return the washer and dryer. They said we cannot return it. We are stuck with it.
Now we've been arguing with Home Depot and Maytag all morning trying to get someone to my home to get the washer fixed. This set cost $1,400 and Maytag is not supporting us on selling us 2 lemon washing machines. We are stuck because we can't return them or exchange them. Home Depot gave us an option to exchange for a lesser model that they have in stock. When you read the reviews for that model the reviews are terrible. I would highly recommend that you do not purchase a Maytag or Whirlpool product. Their company does not stand behind their products or their workmanship. If I had the opportunity I would return these to the store. But it has been over 30 days and I believe that is not an option. Stuck with a lemon. I am retired and have always had dogs in my life. My recent purchase of a new Maytag top loading washer has been very frustrating. There is barely enough water to measure in an oversize tub. The placard on the lid, and in the owner manual clearly show three levels of water. Each load takes twice the time as I am used to with my older Kenmore washer. I am forced to cut my loads in two or three, and use more water and energy to do a job that used to take less than half the time, water and electricity. I have had warranty repair to replace the control board twice, but nothing has changed. The repair techs both said there is one program on new washers, the knobs and settings do nothing, and recommended I "get used to it". They explained the EPA is responsible for all changes to 'Protect consumers from harm'. WHAT???
I wish I had never bought this unit - if I could get my Kenmore back I would, in a hot minute! What a waste of a large tub to properly wash pet bedding and bedspreads/pillows, when there is only 3-4 inches of water! I wasted an entire paycheck, when I could have gotten my other unit repaired or rebuilt. I am seriously frustrated, I am searching for an older washer unit to get back to doing my laundry without being forced into a laundromat for pet bedding and larger items!!!

We have had a Maytag Bravos washer for a while, which has a see-through top load lid and a very small or low agitator. I have to say that I really miss the old fashioned agitator which makes all the clothes being dragged underwater and scrubbed well. We have watched the loads being washed in this washer many times and the clothes are not being swished around very effectively. You feel like you need to help it getting the clothes washed as it seem like it just sit in the same place throughout the cycle.
The clothes ends up in big knots around the edges, and you can see the same towel sitting on the top during the 2-minute rinse cycle, never getting completely under water. During the wash cycle, the lid gets locked, so you are not able to open it up to untangle or move towels around if it has gotten unevenly distributed. The wash cycle is very quick, so all in all, I'm not sure how clean the laundry really is when it's done. We will never buy this kind of washer again.

I purchased the Maytag Bravos XL MVBW755DW Washer and MGDB755DW Dryer in July 2016. Shame on me for not making my complaint sooner. They offer the Tide Pods for use but they don't completely dissolve and leave a residue/stain on the clothing. I have to wash everything on "Deep Water Wash" just to try to get them to come clean. Clothes will come out dry in some spots, they will have fabric softener stains on them, the pre-treated stains are still there once washed. Lint residue will be left on just about every piece of clothing. The fabric softener/detergent dispenser's left side is rusting and I have to pull it out and clean it once a week. I can't get to the track on the inside to try to clean it and soon that will deteriorate and the dispenser will no longer slide into place. If I could attach pictures I would. Now moving on to the dryer, it dries clothes great.
My only complaint at this point is that when the cycle is getting ready to shut off it sounds like a jet engine and rattles terribly. To sum this up, I called customer service this morning. They said nothing that I am explaining to them sounds as though it is a manufacturer's defect. They said they will send a tech out to review at a fee of $99.95 plus the cost of any labor associated with the repair. They did however offer to pay for the parts. Now my question to them is if none of my issues are a manufacturer's defect then why would you offer to pay for the parts? The unit(s) are no longer under warranty... Think twice, gather as much information as you possibly can prior to making a major purchase. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!

I bought a brand new Maytag washer and dryer at Home Depot and did not use until a week later when I found out that the washer did not spin out the water and the machine turned off automatically when cycle was not finished. As a result my load was soaking wet. I called Maytag customer service and they sent the technician. I was standing next to the technician to see what was wrong with the washer. After checking several things and seeing the unresponsive of the washer the technician told me the control unit failed and the clutch also failed. He had to order the parts and it will take at least a week for him to come back and fix it.
I called Maytag customer services and complained about the brand new washer and ask them to replace it with a new one as I don't know if the problems returns and it doesn't have just one failing part. Both the controlling unit and the clutch were failed. Also i bought a brand new products I expect it to work. I don't want to pay for brand new washer and I could not use it plus it took so much of my time going back and forth between Home Depot and Maytag. It was so stressful and I had tons of laundry that need to be done. I also had to take half a day off to call the Maytag customer services and Home Depot.
During my first call with Maytag customer services I asked them to call my local Home Depot so Home Depot will allow me to exchange for another Maytag washer. They had refused at first but when I told them all the reasons above they agreed to call Home Depot and allow the replacement. They asked to hang on the phone while they were calling Home Depot and finally confirmed with me that I could go there and do the replacement.
Surprisingly when I came to Home Depot they said they did not get any notes or call from Maytag regarding my PO# and the replacement. I had to wait for 1hr and 15 minutes for the Home Depot to be able to connect to Maytag customer services and we had to wait for their supervisor to approve the replacement. I was so disappointed later to hear Maytag supervisor telling Home Depot that I had to wait for the repair and they did not approve the replacement. It's really a waste of time and money to buy Maytag products and they don't honor what they said to customers. Once you pay them they take your money and don't really care whether their product is worth the money consumers spend on them. In general it's a rip-off!!! Stay away from Maytag products if you don't want to waste your time and money!!

These are the issues, Water level is ridiculous, clothes often have dry spots, I use only the high water level which is a joke. The tub bottom is very hard to reach because it is too deep even for a man with a long reach. The tub itself is about 16” deep but never fills more than 4” of water on the high water setting. Why such a deep wide tub when you can only put 4” of water? Cleaning is poor, the machine is very noisy, very.
The worst machines we have ever purchased with ridiculous sensors, bells and whistles. The dryer takes forever to dry clothes and again the sensors are a joke. The high efficiency of the units means you work much longer for clothes that are wrinkled, spotted, less clean looking and sometimes damaged. Where is the savings? And don’t say hydro and water as the washer cleaner cost, wipes that out and more. We gave our 26 year old machines to Habitat, neither machine was ever serviced and were in perfect condition, they were Maytag. They have destroyed their name. No, I do not overload the machine. If I change the setting to add more water I don’t see a difference in the amount of water that comes in. I find myself frequently adding an extra rinse. I bought both washers from Nebraska Furniture Mart and I realize they only sell the appliances but I plan to inform them that if they continue to handle Whirlpool and Maytag products they will never sell another appliance to me or to anyone else I can influence to not buy from them. We as consumers are almost powerless against these manufacturers but if we can influence the stores we buy from, just maybe we will see some improvement.

Went from an old simple Maytag to newer model, but still somewhat basic compared to others. However still getting used to the water saver feature in that getting in the right amount of detergent as not to have it set on my clothes and having to put through another rinse cycle and a more slimmer agitator. But do like the Maytag brand.

I have had "commercial" front loading washers since they came out (first was a Whirlpool Duet); although I like the capacity they have for large quilts and sleeping bags, they just don't seem to clean as well as the agitate-in-tub style, and they can take a ridiculous amount of time for a cycle -- where's the energy savings there that they advertise? I'm going to go back to the agitate-in-tub of water style when a replacement is needed. A lot of hype and expense, and plenty of experience with these on my part, but I'm going to grade them a C, at best, compared to the agitator style washing machines I use to own.

Since the day I bought the Maytag Bravos XL washer it never worked correctly. An entire year of several repair men, which half said there was something wrong and other half said nothing was wrong with it. Now it sits in my garage as the most expensive paperweight. I plan to get the washer repaired because have been satisfied with how clean it gets my clothes and it washes pretty quick. I got the large capacity and with a very large load the washer gets them clean. The dryer is very good. It is just as good on a large load as small, dries quick. I would buy this type washer and dryer again and would definitely recommend it to folks. I have been very happy with this washer and dryer. The paint is coming off the washer where you put detergent and fabric softener in and it has rusted out some but it is getting a little age on it so this is expected. I like it, I can throw my comforter in and it gets it clean and the large loads always come out great. I think anyone who bought the set would be very happy with it. It is also quiet which I like.

The only time one can get enough water into the washer to actually get ALL the items wet (or even damp) is to put it on BULKY sheets or HAND wash settings. That is true for any size load whether it be 1 item or 10 items. I prefer being able to get ALL the water I need first, then put in the clothes, then soap, but that's not allowed. First soap, then items, then a bit of water only after you close the lid. They like to say that the spinout dries them which is why they aren't damp - but that is a lie when you can smell and see the dirt. I want my OLD STYLE back!

Right now, the rubber seal on the front has tons of black mold on it, and when I lift the seal to look underneath, it's way worse. There have been many problems like this reported on front-loaders. Wish I'd known! Maytag will not send a replacement seal.

The $1,100 Maytag Bravo XL does not have a dedicated spin cycle. It's "rinse and spin". When out of balance, you rearrange and it rinses AGAIN - 15 minutes - before you know whether it's balanced. By rinsing again, it can redistribute to be out of balance. Repairmen (w/ extra warranty) said you can't wash bath mats, bedspreads or pillows though it had giant capacity! They would charge me if I called again about it (3 strikes). So bought a used Kenmore with no computer panel... It's great! My dealer had the Maytag hauled to a dump, he would not sell it to anybody as he had integrity.

Clothes do not to get as clean as they did in the old style washers that had good agitation and the agitator that was bigger than what's in these new ones. And water. Need water. Maytag washer leaves clothes more wrinkled after a wash than they were in before being cleaned. And these are not full laundry loads. Then using the Maytag dryer is a joke. Need to run double times or extended times on most of the settings to get them completely dry. When it comes to the wrinkle free setting... what a joke. Clothes might be close to dry but wrinkled. Have always had Maytag products since forever. Tried Samsung for the last set-----washer lasted 6 years and then needed a full overhaul. Cheaper to buy a new set. Went back to Maytag. MISTAKE. Samsung did a lot better job of washing and drying. Now stuck with Maytag until... when? Retired and don't have the funds to get new replacements. Just my opinion though.

They will not take back their machine or refund me my almost $1K paid. The washer squeals when it starts washing and clunks all while agitating - I can hear it upstairs. After yet another service call (#11 now and no salary replacement for me) the result is that Maytag says when the temp in the house is 67 or lower, the parts in their machine expand and contract and will make noise. No fix, no refund oh, and no one you can contact by email in Canada to help. Moral of the story, don't buy Maytag.

I absolutely do not like the fact that you can’t choose what size load you have. The washer wants to do it for you but it is not very good at it. You have to fool the washer to get any kind of water level or just use the deep fill every time which is what I do in order to get the clothes clean! This defeats the whole purpose of trying to save water. Also there are too many settings. I mean we’re just washing clothes here not flying a jet. I personally would prefer dials instead of the digital instrument panel. So much easier.
