Lid latches are poor design. No part number on the piece to be replaced. The model number is hidden under the lid well out of view. Many people are complaining about these latches. More than 60% of the problems with this machine are with this latches and there seems to be no redesign. How do you not improve on a product like this. So they have a sticker under the lid that says made in America. There is no country of origin a the part that keeps failing. For such an expensive washer.

I bought my washer 6 months ago. During the middle of a wash cycle, the washer stopped working. The lid will not unlock and my clothes are stuck in a pool of water. After contacting the Maytag service number, I was told that my 1 year warranty didn't cover the lid lock but if I was willing to pay for the extended warranty, it would be covered, but the cost of the service call (in a week!) would fall on me. I am terribly disappointed that the washer is broken after only 6 months and my clothes have to sit in a washer full of water for a week!

Junk. Worst washer and dryer have ever owned. Clothes looks worse when they come out than they did going in. Never recommend this product to anyone. Wish company would go out of business. Whirlpool thousand times better washer dryer.

Dryer - 7.0 cubic ft Electric (model MED4500MW) is almost 4 years old. At first I was impressed that it didn't take long for it to dry anything I put in there, until it didn't! Now, the thermostat has been replaced TWICE as well as the heating coils. I also had to replace the sensor due to the dryer not shutting off using the more dry option. Since replacing all these parts, the dryer still needs to be ran (just today) 3 times to dry a normal load of towels or clothes. This is what has prompted me to get on here and write this review. We are now in it for a total $700+ Was plus parts. I am now torn between replacing it or just keep running up my already high power bill.

Washer glass top loader Maytag terrible design. Product MVWB765FW3. Plastic hinge failed for second time! Design flaw! Customer service failure! Waited over an hour on customer service line only to be switched into the abyss.

Purchased MVW7232HW model May 2025 thru Whirlpool direct. The model was delivered nearly 2 weeks later and the unit IMMEDIATELY leaked. Whirlpool requires repairman to come out, 1 week later, the repairman tells us the tub has a huge crack and the belt clamp wasn't properly installed. After nearly 20 minutes on hold with customer service. I'm now at the mercy of the repair company to report it's findings to the technical team at whirlpool and they'll decide on whether or not I get a replacement. Just another company with poor manufacturing, delivering and customer service.

Our Maytag washer quit working after 15 months of use in a two person home. The wire harness broke costing us $400 for repair. The machine broke down after the warranty had expired 3 months. We tried to get support from Maytag online and got nothing. Crickets. Home Depot didn’t help us either. Do not buy this washer.

Purchased a new washer and dryer set in Boxing Day, received the set first week of January. Used the dryer 2 days later only to find that it leaks (dryer has the stem function). Contacted the store I purchased it from. They directed me to contact Maytag directly. Technician came out, witnessed the leak, took photos and videos. 3 months later in April the Technician returned to replace the nozzle. Same issues, still leaking. Now we’re at the end of April and still no word from Maytag, called them and told them I wanted the unit replaced or refunded.

I am not usually one to come online and write a bad review, but I am FED UP with this washer and dryer set from Maytag. I purchased the Maytag Commercial Technology washer & dryer from Home Depot. I went with Maytag because I believed they were a reputable brand. I am extremely disappointed in this set!! From day 1 this washer and dryer has given me problems... The main issues are: The bleach dispenser!!! It does not effectively release all of the bleach in the load, therefore I am getting bleach on items that cannot be bleached. It has ruined sheets, towels and clothes! I called customer support and they said try running water after the bleach. I shouldn't have to do that. It is a MAJOR flaw in the design. My other complaint is that no matter how I load the clothes in the washing machine, it is constantly getting off balance causing loud noises and cycle to pause until clothes are redistributed. This is a huge inconvenience!

Received new on 5/5/25. Washed 6 loads and machine malfunctioned. Lid locked and once opened, found that machine stopped before completion of cycle. Certified Maytag repairman assigned by company. Repairman initially identified faulty control module. Replaced and still won’t start. Waiting on instructions from the company on a possible repair. Purchased from Home Depot. Manufacturer basically says that you own it after 48 hours. They have the option to take as much time as they desire to try to get equipment repaired. In the interim customer is without a usable washer.

Do not buy the Maytag Bravos XL MCT top-loading washing machine. It is "high-efficiency low-water". Translation: at the end of even a small load, I am guaranteed to have a couple of items with dry areas that have NEVER BEEN WET. The shortest cycle takes at least an hour, so what we are saving in water is a huge ENERGY hog. I learned how and when to add buckets of water myself to the washer from a website where everyone has this same issue. NOT easy to do if you have had shoulder replacements.

I bought a commercial grade Maytag 6.0 washing machine top loader (model MVW7230HC0) less than five years ago. The mechanical is fine but the control board and control panel need replacing. The two should be worth about $25 as compared to a transistor board are about $1200 for the two. That is more money than a new washer is. So off to the dump this one goes. The delivery/pick up person said it was about seven years for this model in general. He has been picking up and dropping off appliance for 18 years and does about twenty drop/pick ups per day. Taking away mechanically good machines because Maytag (Whirlpool) plus about ten other brands are owned by Whirlpool have built in failure or the electronics then charge more than a reasonable price for the parts.

The washer is 1000% completely garbage. I would never buy Maytag ever again. Dryer is OK. Washer sounds like a broken freight train since it was new. The transmission is garbage. Cannot balance any load. Repair man said it's normal. Lol. Buy a Samsung or any other brand!

Purchased a Maytag washer and dryer in September 2023. I've had to get repairs done on both the washer and dryer. My dryer is out and I am now having to wait three weeks for a repairman to come and install a new heating unit because we bought the warranty they apparently don't have anyone that can come out sooner. Not only that but to be able to use the warranty, you have to go through a bunch of loops and holes to get someone to help you.

I just had to buy a new washer. Our Maytag was here when we bought our house. I knew it was an older one but it worked like a horse. Heavy loads, dirt and grime all got clean. When we pulled the washer out the purchase date was written on the back 5-7-2020. Today is 5-6-2025, way to go. Too bad I couldn’t afford the same brand but I felt Maytag deserved a thumbs up!👍🏻

The times for service are not suitable for me. There are no Saturday service calls and during the week it is from 8 am to 4 pm. I will just call another service company to pay whatever I have to pay and NEVER again purchase a Maytag appliance. It is very convenient to offer a 10-yr guarantee when the client cannot utilize it. I am willing to pay but the service is not offered at the client's convenience. I am sure most of your clients work like me and cannot be missing days at work, like me. The product is not reliable nor is the service offered when the not reliable appliance stops working.

My brand new Maytag washing machine (1 year and 1 month old) broke. Called Maytag (Whirlpool) who contracts out to Diamond Factory Service for repairs. A repair man from Diamond Factory came out and he was DRUNK. He smelled heavily of alcohol and had slurred speech. While looking at our washing machine, he ended up shocking himself and cutting a wire but stated the washing machine was fixed. It worked for a load and then broke again with the same problem.

I bought one of the better Maytag washing machines and dryers and have had pretty bad experiences with both. I purchased the extended warranty for the dryer, and thank God I did because in less than 5 years I had to have it worked on twice including replacing the heating element a few months ago. I wasn’t so lucky with the washer as I did not purchase the warranty and wouldn’t you know in less than 2 years of owning it, I’m having an issue with it getting stuck in a rinse cycle. These machines both are Maytag top of the line top loaders. Nebraska Furniture Mart is where I bought them, and they wouldn’t grant me a limited warranty repair even though the machine is less than 2 years old. Buy another brand. Not worth the purchase. PS What happened to the days of buying a machine that lasted 20-30 years. These new machines are terrible because of the electronics. Probably all manufactured in China. Pure **!

The worst washing machine ever. I hate it. Takes 2 to 3+ hours to wash a load. Bleach does not distribute well, I've ruined several items of clothing. Clothes smell funky, not clean. Soap/bleach/fabric softener dispenser is terrible. Makes a mess every time I add product, spills all over or mixed together. I cannot just do a soak or spin at will.

I bought this Dryer back in 2023. I thought if I bought Maytag that I wouldn't have a problem for years. Well here I sit not even 2 years later and my dryer has been not throwing heat for over a month now. I paid over 1100 dollars for this piece of crap. Thanks for nothing maytag!

Remember the old Maytag commercials when the Maytag repairman had nothing to do? Not anymore! I purchased a Maytag MED7230HW3 and had it delivered and installed on 5/30/2023. This is the 7.4 CF unit that still sells today for over $1,100.00. I have taken care of it by not overloading and unhooking and cleaning out the vent periodically. Now the exhaust fan won't work. And it is making a screaming noise. Customer service said I can pay them $31.99 a month for 12 months and they will fix it for me. No thanks, Maytag. I won't be giving you my hard earned money anymore. Buyer beware!

Maytag does not care one bit about their customer. I have a washer that has been broken for over a month now. After the service technician came back a second time with parts the technician stated he didn't know how to fix it and that it would have to go to the engineers to figure out. They don't care how long you're without the product you spent thousands of dollars on.

I bought the Maytag washer commercial technology and dryer, I had to replace the motherboard within 4 month on the washer and after 4 years I need to replace the washer because it is constantly having error codes and doesn’t drain clothes properly. Dryer I’ve had to replace heating element and other parts. Now it only dries partly on bedding the rest shut off. Of course right as warranty ends.

I bought a basic Maytag washer in November 2021 based on a positive review by Consumer Reports. They were utterly wrong! The machine makes loud grinding sounds when it washes and it has done so from the beginning. It's difficult for me to understand how the company can pay its designers and engineers to make loud machines. Has no one every listened to the machine while it's engaged? My mother had her Maytag for decades and it was totally quiet, just a gentle sloshing sound when washing and a whir when spinning. For a while I could not get the washer to work at all, but then finally it worked ONLY on normal cycle.

Their service is a scam and rip you off. Be careful making an appointment. They will charge your credit card and only then tell you the repair date way out into the future. Better off going with someone local.

We bought a Maytag “Commercial” washer in 2020 and started having issues with rust almost immediately. Last fall (2024) the primary control knob snapped off the washer. Imagine my surprise when I called for repairs and discovered that the entire control board had to be replaced and not just the cheaply made plastic knob. We spent almost $500 to repair the issue. Less than a week later the lid lock switch broke. Another $200 repair. Now the entire suspension system has collapsed and this very expensive washer which is less than 5 years old must be replaced!!! I will NEVER buy another Maytag or Whirlpool (same manufacturer) appliance and will not do business with the dealer that sold us this absolute piece of garbage washer!!!

We have purchased and used Whirlpool appliances for over 30 years but decided on a Maytag washer 11 months ago. It began causing issues with the spin cycle about three months later. The machine sounded like we were at an airport with the noise the drum made. It has been serviced 4 times since and had many parts replaced. Fast forward to today when it froze up again and we could not open the lid. Whirlpool/Maytag wanted to send out another repairman, we said no we will never buy your products again. Today we ordered an LG washer. Avoid this brand, they do not stand behind their products and are sending junk into the marketplace.

Ordered online direct from Maytag. Delivery and setup (11/30/2023) went fine. Started failing middle of March 2025, stopping in middle of cycles, had to restart and finish a cycle. Then it kept running the drain pump constantly. Diagnostic code show failed pressure sensor. FIVE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY (PARTS AND LABOR). Made service appointment through Maytag.com 03/25/2025. ** They were very responsive. Unfortunately, the part (control board) is backordered. ** didn't have an ETA. I checked numerous site and found it backorder ever where, with some site showing ETA in May. This is strictly on Maytag/Whirlpool problem as they manufacture the parts. This is a commercial grade washer. I can't imagine any business depending on washer that fails after 15 months and parts are not available for months.

One star because you can't leave 0 stars - quality - AWFUL!; customer service - AWFUL! Called in about a tub bearing going out / very noisy and customer service script was all about getting my credit card and it will be charged today! Washer less than 4 years old - has been noisy almost since day one and this is after "must use white glove delivery and install service" - GARBAGE. Bought to support "Made in USA" at a premium price - only thing high is the price - low quality, low customer service! Will never buy Maytag again!!

Bought Maytag washer in December and by the end of January broke down with wiring issues. Waited 2 weeks for repair. Broke down again in February, same issue. Same wait time. April broke again! JUNK!!

My 81-year-old grandmother just bought a brand new Maytag at Lowe's in October of 2024 and it has a problem with the wiring harness and they know it. That's why they discounted it. Do not buy a Maytag with a push button. They have problems with wiring harnesses. Get a doll or just don't buy Maytag at all. But don't buy Whirlpool either coz they got the same issues

We purchased one of these and it has worked okay, but would say it’s very noisy. When our daughter needed a new one, we suggested this product. The first one delivered wouldn’t drain. The next day, Lowe’s replaced with a new one. It didn’t work, but this time they said she needed to call repairman. First man who came out didn’t have a clue how to fix. Second company came out and said it could be one of three issues. At this point, she could not get a replacement because it was in warranty period. So company ordered the parts. One of which would take 6 weeks to arrive. Finally fixed after 3 months but the reason it didn’t work is still unknown. Maytag was really no help. Since the 2nd one broke within 2 days, she should have received new one.

I purchased a Maytag washer MVW6230HW (digital) from Lowe's in September 2022, for a total of 873.00. I did not purchase an extended warranty from Lowe's. This Maytag washer was guaranteed for 12 months. The washer lasted just 15 months, then stopped midcycle, half filled with water and clothing. Lowe's will only provide service if an extended warranty is purchased. The only service I could locate in my area was Sears Home Services. The technician replaced the actuator, and the machine still did not work. The technician said he had no idea what was wrong.

I purchased a stackable front load washer and dryer. The third time using the dryer, the drum felt gasket came out and wrapped itself around my clothing tightly! Getting a hold of them for this issue has been a nightmare. After a long hold, I decided to email someone. She had the nerve to send me troubleshooting instructions. This is a new unit!! I shouldn’t even be dealing with this, and I’m not disassembling my new dryer. I finally have a service date, but they don’t give you a time window. You have to stay home and be available the entire day. So I guess I’m taking a day off work. I have wasted a lot of time/money, and now I have a new machine sitting here that I can’t use. I don’t even want them to make the repair. Just bring a new dryer ASAP. This is ridiculous. Off to the laundromat to waste more money. Never again will I buy Maytag.

I bought a Maytag front loading washing machine from Lowe’s less than 1 year ago. It is already inoperable due to mechanical failure. I tried to call customer service and received a busy signal, something pretty unheard of in this day. I went to the Maytag website and started a chat to try and get help there only to be left hanging mid-conversation, the agent just stopped replying. I have an inoperable washing machine that was very expensive and not even 1 year old and have no recourse because I can’t get through to an actual customer service agent. I regret my purchase. Do not buy this brand. The product is poor and the customer service is nonexistent.

I bought a Maytag washer and it broke down after four week - it took five weeks to get it fixed. Now a year later, it has broken down again and it has already been a month and we are still waiting for part to repair it. Buying a Maytag is the worst decision I have ever made. I will never buy a MayTag product again and neither should you!

We bought a new home 6 months ago and decided to splurge on a "quality" washer and dryer pair and bought a Maytag. It's the worst appliance purchase I've ever made in my entire life and it's not even close. The washer shakes everywhere and is so loud we put pillows on each side and it still makes tons of noise. We called a Maytag technician and an independent repair person to check it and they said that they're just built that way nowadays.

Maytag, big name brand, big name disappointment. A month in and started having problems, took 3 months to get repaired and a few months later same exact problems. Customer service is friendly, but treats you like an assembly line customer, nothing more than scripted responses to questions. Inferior product with obvious design flaws and no intention of admitting and taking responsibility for it. Will never purchase another product of theirs and will steer anyone else I can away from their products.

I bought Maytag washer 5.3 CU in 2023 from Costco and in last 2 year I had 7 repairs for it.. and finally we are getting rid of this on 03/28/2025 and buying a washer from Samsung. Maytag washers are an absolute junk products and we would never recommend the product. More than the product their customer service is even pathetic.

I paid for warranty and it's been 4 months with no washer. The guy from Savannah property comes here twice with wrong parts, and goes days without answering the phone and if he do answer he has personal problems. I wish I would have gotten warranty somewhere else. Don't get warranty out of the store.

I purchased a new Maytag washer that was delivered February 8, 2025. The washer broke within 5 days. It stopped with clothes saturated with water. The machine was locked so I was unable to get clothes out until the repairman came out. There is no way to unlock this machine once locked. Today is Monday March 23, 2025 and it is broken again! This time not locking and making a noise. I had to schedule a repair again which is scheduled for 3/26/2025. I am very disappointed in this product and frustrated. Model number MVW5430MW2.

We purchased a commercial Maytag washer & dryer for our home. 1/23/24. Now we are looking for a different brand used washer as our 1 yr washer still don't work. Waiting. No relief in sight. Dissatisfied.

I spent the extra money on a Maytag washer and dryer. It's labeled 'commercial grade' and has a big bold "10 Year Warranty" sticker on it. After may be 4 and a half years of basic household use the washer has completely begun to break down. Violent shaking started and the suspension rods had to be replaced, then came the loud screeching and the clutch and actuator had to be replaced. After several hundred dollars, now it simply stops mid-cycle leaving clothes soaking wet. Customer service will simply read back the manual's small print and wish you good luck. The warranty only applies to the motor and tub and nothing else.

0 stars if I could. The absolute worst washer that I ever ever came across. Bought it one year ago and it’s already broken. The dryer doesn’t even dry your clothes properly. You don’t get that clean smell. Do not buy, I repeat do not buy. The customer service is horrible.

Maytag just don’t care about their customers. I bought what I thought it was a a nice washer machine which worked perfect for whole 3 weeks! I called customer service, they were nice and they set up a tech to come and check the washer. The drum had a small crack and it was causing a leak. I waited about 3 more weeks for the part to realize they sent a SCRATCHED and DIRTY drum and guess what? I have to wait 3 more weeks for a new part, when called customer service they just kept saying they are escalating the order but, when I asked what does that mean? They didn’t even know, it may come before 14 business days!! I was asking for additional solutions or help during this time but, they kept repeating what the warranty says.

Do not buy Maytag Appliances. They do not live up to the repairs on their warranty. I'm 6 months into a washer and it began to bounce and vibrate. I know what's wrong with it but they refuse to send me parts to fix it but give me nothing but the run around and I still have 6 months of warranty left. Screw them. I'll order parts f ft on someone else. I'll never buy a Maytag washer or appliance ever again in my life. Don't buy it. You'll get screwed just like me.

I have a Maytag washer. I despise my Maytag washer. The Afresh cycle is as long as a regular load and uses straight-up hot water. Beautiful hot water and spits it out. It is a waste of time, hot water and I hate this washer. Clothes do not come out clean. It is a horrible washer. Has been from day 1. I am finally done. My hot water for my shower was spent on an AFRESH cycle so it would stop asking and self-programing for 1.

I love buying "made in the USA." Maytag supposedly is...but, no. They are assembled here of parts from near and far. Sadly, we are on our 3rd attempt in 5 years. From the$1400 unit with display board problems, down to the $1099 unit with control board and switch problems, down to the $799 basic model that is loud and doesn't spin the water out. The REAL warranty is only 1 year. The 10yr warranty covers almost nothing. I guess I've learned a lesson - finally. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I bought model #MVWC465HW3 middle of last year. I was excited to have a new machine after my last washer of close to 15 years. Boy was I disillusioned! This machine has turned out to be the biggest piece of crap I've ever owned. It's to the point that I'd rather have one of those old tub washers with manual ringers on it like my great aunt owned.

A BIG lie about the MAYTAG 10 Limited warranty on Drive motor. The gear driven broke down experiencing a loud grinding noise during spin cycle. The service technician came after a week of scheduled/reported trouble. He just took a look at the bottom, found oil splattered around, belt was good, motor was good, except the grinding noise is inside the motor drive assembly. He never took apart, provided me an estimate of $$380.96 for parts + $125 for labor. I decided not get it fixed, since I can get a brand new one at Lowe's or Home Depot at about same price. Unfortunately, I was charge $125 for a 15 minute visit diagnostic fee.

I regret purchasing a Maytag dryer. It broke within a month of use, and the experience since then has been a complete nightmare. I waited over two weeks for a part to be delivered, and in that time, no one could give me any answers. I called five different times, and each time I was put on hold for over an hour. I received no help and no real solutions. I have been without a dryer for over a month now. How does a brand new dryer break within one month of purchasing? The customer service was beyond frustrating, and honestly, I would give zero stars if I could. This is, by far, the worst company I have ever dealt with.

I have a commercial grade Maytag top loading washer that is less than 5 years old. The lid is broken on one side, which causes the sensor to fail. The only way to use the washer is to put a large weight on that side of the lid. Lid is approximately $500.00 to replace. Do not buy a Maytag washer. Lid is not covered by warranty.

RE: Maytag Washer MVW5435PW. This washer was delivered on 12/31/24. As of 3/5/25 the washer has made 5 loads. Maytag support involves 30 minute wait times and no prioritization for buyers. We are heading toward 3 strikes and a refund. So far the pump is bad and now the mother board. Maytag DOES NOT expedite parts and since we ran our Whirlpool to failure we have not washer for over 2 months. I researched this purchase with Consumers Report. Their highest rated machine was an LG. My recommendation: Don't buy this USA brand buy the Korean Brand. Maytag/Whirlpool has lost all sense of quality control and customer service.

We bought a new Maytag washer a couple years ago. We had some issues with it. We contacted the warranty service. They sent a tech to look at it. The only thing he said was yes it was making a noise he had never heard before. he stated he would have to order parts. We never heard from anyone again. We contacted them several times and still nothing was done about it.

I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 11 months ago. The dryer has continued to have motherboard issues and all they can do is replace the motherboard and it still has the same issues. The washer has been horrible. It continues to take over two hours to do a load And is always off balance. I have had the service people out over five times and they cannot find anything to fix. Maytag does not support their products and will only keep sending the technician out. Yesterday the manager informed me that they do not refund or replace, they just keep sending a repair technician out. I have to take off work every time they come out and there is never a fixed found.

Our fairly new Maytag dryer, less than two years old, no longer heats. And the cost for a Maytag repair along with its insurance for only one year costs more than 50% of the purchase price when new. Based on this disappointing experience, our family will avoid Maytag products from now on.

I purchased a Maytag washer in 9/22. From the beginning, it vibrated, jumped around, and "jumped off" the platform. The seller came out twice, claimed it was a leveling problem, claimed it was "fixed" and less than a week later it started again. I contacted them two additional times (all within months of purchasing the washer) and they stopped responding - did not answer emails nor return calls. Less than 3 months later, it stopped moving thru cycles automatically and it had to be moved manually. I called a Maytag repair person who indicated the error message showed there was a problem with one of the sensors which he fixed but the problem recurred two weeks later.

We bought a Maytag Washer 07/09/2022 from Lowe’s. A important factor was the “10-year limited warranty”. Do not believe it. Unless something goes wrong in the first 30 days, the warranty is worthless. About 2 months ago we noticed the machine looked like something was leaking from underneath. The drum also smells a little like oil. Called about having a repair man to come look at it and give us an estimate on what could be the problem. $350 upfront to come assess it, this does cover anything that is wrong, parts & labor. Or we can pay $31 for 12 months. When we inquired about the 10-year warranty, covers pretty much nothing. Always had heard how Maytag was the best and stood behind their products. For either amounts, we could at least pay half of a brand new washer if not all. So all Maytag products will have to sell to other suckers than us.

Worked reasonably well for five years. Now it won’t rinse clothes. I have to take clothes out of machine wet and try rinsing them in the sink. Then I can put them back in and run a spin only cycle. Now it started not really washing them. I just had to fill tub with a bucket from sink to get enough water to wash! Poor quality. Washer should last longer then five years. Especially a high capacity “commercial quality” unit.

I purchased a Maytag washer less than a year ago. It stopped working a few nights ago in the middle of a wash cycle. Won't drain or anything. I have been trying to contact the Maytag Service number but keep getting put on hold just as I start to give them the model and serial numbers asked for. The warranty appears to be useless and at this point, so does the (new) washer. Junk.

I bought a $1000 Maytag top of the line washer in October of 2021. I paid extra for this because I didn’t want to have to buy another for a long time. I bought it at Lowe’s and they sold me a 3 year extended warranty and was told that would commence once the manufacturer’s warranty expired in a year. This would lead me to believe that my extended warranty would be good through October 2025. Monday of this week the washer stopped working. I called the Lowe’s extended warranty number and was told that the warranty actually expired a few months ago.

Our top loading washer was purchased march 2024 and two months after purchase, the harness broke and the machine wouldn’t drain or spin. It took 2.5 weeks to get the part in to fix the machine. The machine broke and is showing the same codes again as the first time. I called and get a service date with preferred appliance. I called Whirlpool because I told them the first time I was not comfortable owning this machine that has broken down under 3 months of owning.

The Maytag 10 year limited parts warranty sticker is just a marketing tactic to help sell their products. The quality of their Washing Machines are horrible. I had a new one fail after three years, and their service provider would not even come out to look at it without a $134 fee. My new Speed Queen works extremely well. You pay more money for it, but it is worth it. It is reliable and fast... It works like the old models; when being made in the United States meant quality, and that was the norm. My new washer, washes! It doesn't connect with my phone, and I'm fine with that! I press a button, and in less than a half hour, I have clean clothes.

Do not buy Maytag. They are not what they used to be. If you can afford it buy Speed Queen. I wish I had spent the extra money. I hate my Maytag washer and dryer. They are 1 year old and I have had problems with both.

I paid over 2k for a Maytag set. Only last 3 yrs. They are junk for not buy them. I got extended warranty and had to call them twice, but after the warranty the main board went out now the entire thing is trash, the dryer is dead too.

Not enough water goes into the tub. The clothes do not cycle through the soapy water. Some pants do not even get wet unless the water falls on the material as the tub is filling. I had the repair guy out and he replaced multiple part. Still does not get enough water in the tub. Maytag model: MVWC565FW3. So the bottom line is some of the material in the clothes being washed never gets any soapy water on them. The other problem, which is 100% design issue, is the cold and hot water valves cycle on and off while it is filling. Well, if you have a hot water tank, that is no biggie, but if you have a once through natural gas hot water heater, that cycling causes the rinser to cycle on and off every 45 to 70 seconds. Which is start the fan, start the spark, open the gas, stop the spark, it gets running, then the water stops and it shuts down. Stay away from this washer.

Bought a Maytag washer 2023. It went out in 2024 before the year warranty was done. I sent 3 email to The BBB, talked to Maytag company, they sent a repair person out to fix. The repair person has been here 4 times to put 5 parts and now they're wanting to put part number 6 on it, 3 computers boards, pump to get the water out of the washing machine and a lid lock. I think they just need to get me another washing machine

6 month old washer lid lock broke.. Cheap plastic part that will not let the washer run. Horrible washer. No help from Maytag, was told I would receive a call back within a week. Worst customer service ever. I will never buy Maytag again

Not just a Maytag problem. Too much government regulation. My old kenmore lasted 28 years and you could wash anything in it. These new machines don’t clean, not enough water. Tears up and knots up clothes. Need to start fighting back against stupid ideas.

Purchased December 2024. To start, this piece of equipment is complete junk. It’s made from the cheapest, hollow materials available. Secondly, the noise from it is something I’ve never experienced from a washing machine, nor would I expect to. During one of the cycles, it makes banging noises as if someone was hitting it. Not only is this terribly annoying to us, but it frightens my poor dog… That’s how loud it is. Horrible.

Our washing machine is less than three months old. And is broken. People have been out multiple times to fix it and nothing has changed. Called customer service. They aren’t any help either. Will not buy anything Maytag again!!!

Our top-loading Maytag washing machine has been a disaster, and Whirlpool customer service is the same. I bought Model MVW4505MW1 and after 4 months the rinse stopped functioning and now it's 2 months and 4 technician's visits later and the machine is still broken. New control panel, new actuator, new capacitor, and now a connector is on order without any certainty that's the problem. I've spent about $220 in laundromat fees and Whirlpool says the most it can compensate is $100. I demanded a new machine and was told the guarantee only guarantees fixing. Stay away from Whirlpool.

We built a new home and moved into it 1.5 years ago. All new appliances. Our Maytag washer and dryer were purchased new from a local appliance dealer, not a big box store. They both have been nothing but problems. Now out of warranty the repairs are now just guessing as no errors or codes have been found when diagnosing the issues. We have provided videos and that the washer does not work correctly is a known fact.

We purchased a Maytag Commercial Technology top loading washing machine in 2020. Unfortunately, there is a Clean Washer (with Afresh) cycle that randomly comes on after one has already added a full load and soap/softener to the machine. There is no button that will clear the CW cycle to enable the machine to proceed with current washing cycle. It takes about 7-? times of shutting the machine off and on to get the CW cycle to finally clear. Also, the start of a CW cycle happens at random and I’m guessing after 20- 30 loads and one can’t be expected to keep a running tally of the load number one is on. For this reason, I would never purchase a Maytag washer again. Whomever came up with this crazy idea to add a CW cycle without a clear cycle button doesn’t wash their own clothes! Grrrrrrr…

Here is my experience with the Maytag washer. It broke almost immediately as the washer wouldn't lock. Had someone come out to fix that. Then the basket broke (started slamming side-to-side within the washer). Then the "Drain and Spin" broke. It would add more water every time I tried to use the "Drain" option. Could never get anyone on the phone. Just one big endless Phone tree that never connects you. Other than that, it was great.

After having washer for only four months it stopped spinning clothes. After numerous calls and hours of waiting we were able to schedule repair for the next week. Due to weather the service technician was unable to make the appointment. We explained codes and he decided it was drain pump and ordered the part. He rescheduled visit for the following week. The time comes for repair and we get another phone call stating the part is on back order and no idea when they will get it. We have been without a washer for a month and no idea when we may get it fixed. It is four months old and we are without a washer. Customer service is terrible. You get put on hold for hours for them to get disconnected or give you the runaround. Never again will we buy a Maytag product. I do not recommend to anyone.

We purched this washer late November early December. The clothes come out so wrinkled. I used to be able to hang our jeans and sweaters to dry. Now jeans need ironed as do sweaters. Sheets and towels are the same covered in wrinkles. Worst machine. Don't buy.

This is my 2nd purchase of a top load Maytag washer within 30 days.The most recent Whirlpool washer Model# MVW723HC I bought from Menards in WVa.It never covers my clothes with water before the agitator starts, or during washing cycle. It tears up a lot of my towels, wash rags, clothes, new coats even delicates are not safe with this JUNK machine. Customer Service says it works as it was designed to do and they are not willing to buy back the washer. I have to say I will never purchase another Whirlpool washer and dryer in my lifetime! Speed Queen is the way to go...

Just bought this junk, can't seem to get my work clothes clean no matter what setting probably because it's high efficient it will wash for an hour and a half with no water, not sure how that is supposed to get clothes clean. My old washer was 20 minutes and clean clothes but it actually used water, go figure

I bought 4 years ago thinking Maytag must be a very good choice but soon found out that it doesn’t wash no matter how you separate the fabric or the color or reduce the size of load! Nothing worked! Changed soap so many times to get the white clean and not stained!!! Now the rinse stop working and I will not put any money on this garbage! NEVER AGAIN I will buy this brand. Reputation is way over made. Real crap.

Washing machine is garbage.....again! Purchased first Maytag and in a year it stopped working. Thought maybe it was just a lemon so we purchased the second Maytag washer and within 6 months (July) same thing. Luckily we had purchased the Allstate Protection after getting stung the first time. The second washer stopped working within 6 months (December) again. The warranty deemed it beyond repair and is supposedly refunding our purchase price. Save yourself the head and do NOT waste your money on this trash!

Do not buy Maytag - a huge disappointment! After just a years, our Maytag Dryer No longer working. Not sure if the heating element has went out or what the issue with the dryer. Several calls has been attempted to their customer service to schedule a service visit. No such luck. I attempted to do an online chat to schedule a service visit. No such luck.

Purchased a Maytag washer (and Whirlpool dryer) in April of 2024. So far we have had to have the washer repaired 7 times and the dryer 2x. The washer is the worse appliance I've ever purchased. It overflowed and we had to replace our entire kitchen floor from the water damage. They have replaced numerous parts and the last service call was a replacement of the rods and all the bushings were broken! Also the screws in the back of the washer were not the original ones or the back of the washer was not the original. They didn't line up! I've called the company 3 times to seek a replacement or reimbursement to no avail. I've written to BBB who also contacted them but to no avail. I wish there was some way to get some satisfaction!!

We purchased a MAYTAG washer Model #MVW7232HW2 on 7-5-24. Less than 6 months later (and over the holidays) the control panel/brain went out. It is on backorder with no anticipated arrival date. Customer service was rude and REFUSES to help. They stated “we just have to wait for the process to work.” Several trips to the laundromat later - we are beyond frustrated that we not only purchased from a company that we thought was reputable, but have found how deplorable their customer service is. Our next step will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Shame on Maytag for producing junk and refusing to supply parts for repair within a responsible amount of time.

I bought a new Maytag washer and dryer set in Aug of 2024. I had to request a replacement dryer twice due to deficiencies with the product. On the 3rd deliver, I requested them to just take them back but they refused. All of the reshipments resulted in my order exceeding the 48 hours permitted to do a return. Do not buy these products. I've had them 4 months now, they do work but they are very loud and both products are now squeaking in addition to their normal loud noise.

I bought a dryer in June 2023 and not more than a year and a half later it died on me. I spent over $550 on it and I will never purchase a Maytag again. And for people that don’t know, the 10 year limited warranty is only for the drum and not the electric parts I was never told that, but I guess it was my fault not looking it up but still why put a warranty that doesn’t cover electronic on it that’s the first thing to go out. This company is a fraud. Again, I will never buy me Maytag product ever again.

Maytag washer MVW6230HW...two years old...now leaking oil underneath. Ruined floor. A piece of crap machine. The clothes come out in a twisted mess. I’m just sick. I had to go buy a new washer today… this one is not worth another dime in repairs. TWO YEARS OLD! Come on Maytag!!!

Bought the Maytag front load washer MHW6630HC2 washer in 2021 (delivered 2022) for which I paid over $1,000 and the control board just died before Christmas 2024. The machine stopped working in the middle of a load. Repair will cost over $350. I’ve read online that this isn’t an uncommon problem with Maytag washers. I have an LG in a house we rent and my daughter has LG - no problems. We thought the Maytag was a better machine but we were fooled. I called Maytag and they basically said too bad since I didn’t have an extended warranty. I’ll never buy a Maytag or whirlpool product again!

I bought a brand new Maytag washer in January 2024. It worked ok for nine months then the locking mechanism jammed. I waited over a month to get it fixed. Now, a month later it has jammed again. Can't get a hold of customer service. Spent $700 for a piece of crap. Never again!!!!

Don’t do it!! I have a washer less than a year old sitting with water and clothes in a locked machine and they can’t send a technician to look at it for 2 weeks!! I even told them my son works with chemicals and needs to wash his work clothes every day. Completely unacceptable!

We have both a washer and dryer that were made by Maytag and installed on May 22, 2022. We have had nothing but problems with both the washing machine and the dryer. I have paid over $500 in service calls for people to come out and repair them, I would not recommend them to anybody. The clothes do not get dry and you can’t customize the cycle. To run a load of white towels through the washing machine is two hours and 45 minutes and to dry that same load of clothes is over an hour and 35 minutes. Besides the drying problems, we continually have went back up in the blower motor and I just paid someone again $120 to come out two days ago to remove the excess lint. See attached photos.

Purchased washer with the largest top load drum that I could find. I think 5.6. This thing is huge, great for king size thick comforters. So I thought. Well, if you can get it to actually max fill or hey I'd even medium fill that would be great. With or without water it agitates. Stops and say sensing..sensing why.. the outside drum spins then sometimes the center spins. The water level seems to be stuck on the smallest sensor. It never gets past it no matter how full the washer is. I've even, during the wash cycles paused and hit the fill button. Closed the lid.. it would fill all the way to the top..finally. (it thinks it's in soak mode) so I hit play to get it going again annnnnd, empties, spins out and says done. Try, try again...same results doesn't matter what cycle it it on.

Bought a Maytag commercial 5 years ago past July. Every year one or two things broke all the way up to end of warranty. Every part was replaced twice. Four months after warranty end, electrical board is going again! Rip off!!

Horrible products and service. Recently 4-year-old washer which costed me $560 broke down. I paid $130 to Maytag to troubleshoot, Technician come over and quoted me $889. How can repair be more than a cost of new product. MAYTAG IS A SCAM. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEIR PRODUCT. THEIR 10 YEAR WARRANTY IS ALSO A SCAM.

Updated on 10/23/2025: If I could give no stars I definitely would. I purchased a Maytag washing machine just over a year ago from Teppermans and it is now broken for the second time. The first time it broke it was 5 weeks old. Appliance Pros sent a tech 3 times over 4 weeks who finally fixed the issue. I was without a washer for a month. I took 3 days off work and the tech would sometimes not show up.

My Maytag dryer is 20 months old and the drive motor that's on the 10 years warranty has to be replaced. I ordered part from Whirlpool Rep, told item was in stock and I'm supposed to get an email when it ships. I'm still waiting on the email. Maytag washer was barely 3 years old and started stopping in cycles or spinning only to not pick up speed and die. Some of the cycle types have never worked. I did buy the extended warranty. Belt and another part were finally replaced.

I am writing this out of exhaustion in hopes I can save someone else the frustration I am experiencing with my Maytag washer. I purchased a service contract in May when the washer first stopped working. The issue was never repaired correctly, and there was a recall on the machine at the time that the tech and D&G never disclosed. The washer stopped working again in late October. I scheduled a second call, waited 2 weeks for parts and then found out in early November it needed several more parts and extensive work to repair. It does not operate at all, and it is a fire hazard according to the technician. He said they noted their recommendation for a replacement in the service notes, but D&G denies seeing the notes.

Just purchased a set in March. Had to have the tech come to my house 5 times for the washer and dryer. Now the washer says suds all of the time even tho we aren't using heavy amounts of soap, and yes we are using HE! It threw a code e1 f9 and we couldn't get are clothes out of it for almost 2 days, and when we did get it open I had to hand ring every piece of clothing out because they were soaked!! Do not recommend buying Maytag!

I bought this used washer for $200 on Marketplace. Boy, I was bamboozled & can see why they were selling it!!! Worst washer EVER!!!! I wish that I would have read the reviews first. Manual states, "low water washer." YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!! Water level only fills inches below clothes & leaves clothes dry on top!!!! Agitator is not aggressive at all, it just sloshes clothes around somewhat. Save your money!

I have had a Maytag washer for 2 1/2 years. I have had to have someone come out and fix things on it 3 times and about to be a 4th. Of course, it is never something covered under the warranty. We have actually paid for a new washer with all repairs that have been done.

Purchased a Maytag washer in Canada direct from Maytag.ca and am very happy with it. But the price went down by 100$ the very next day. They will not honor price protection as they say it's a promo. Will not buy direct from them again.

Absolute junk - destroyed so many items - sweaters, dish regs, jog pants - literally shredded. Using the drain and spin - doesn't do anything - it adds more water so items are still waterlogged after the cycle. DID a 2 year old design this washer. I bought my Maytag a year ago. It wouldn’t work the day I bought it from Lowe’s brand new. Returned it and stupidly got the same thing. It works when it wants to, it starts a cycle but doesn’t run through the cycle, goes straight to “ done”. Walk away thinking the washer is doing its job. To come back and see the clothes are still dry. Sometimes it never has an issue, most days it chooses what it wants to do.

On July 23, 2024 they delivered my Maytag washer. It worked very well for one month then the computer sensor went out. The repair guy came and told me that it got water in it. That's why it burned it out that was seven weeks ago. They were supposed to come today which is November 20 to repair it and they have delayed it for two more weeks, this is the worst experience I've ever had with Maytag Washer. I've never bought a brand new wash machine machine had a break in within one month. I wouldn't recommend anyone buying a Maytag washing machine ever. They will not replace it because they say it's repairable. A brand new washer should not have to be repaired. I have no idea how they could say Water got into the computer. It's a wash machine. Of course they get water. They've been giving me the runaround for seven weeks like I said and now they want me to wait two more and they are the most unhelpful customer service ever.

We purchased a new top of the line Maytag washer and matching dryer and pedestals 6 months ago. FIVE weeks ago, it started shooting out codes of F3 and E6. Called place we bought the washer/dryer from and they contacted Maytag for service work. Repairman came and replaced the motherboard and it still would not work. The technician spent over an hour with the "master technician" from Maytag trying to repair it and had to order more parts. The parts were supposed to be here in a week. Just found out yesterday that the parts were just shipped on the day they were to have arrived at the repair place for them to install them and will not be here for almost another week. No communication.

I've have a Maytag Centennial washer and dryer and they have been the worst appliances I have ever owned. The water sensor NEVER allows enough water to clean leaving whatever is on the very top of the load to stay dry and dirty. The cleaning cycle is only 10 mins which is not enough time when there isn't an agitator (which is supposed to be better for your clothes) or enough water. I have to wash EVERY SINGLE LOAD TWICE, sometimes 3 times, so how is that saving water exactly? And large loads, forget it. If I fill it more than halfway, the top half of the clothes do NOT get clean. The pre-soak cycle is a joke and if you try to soak it any longer the washer by keeping the lid up, it AUTOMATICALLY drains the water so you have to refill it, wasting soap and water. So again, how is it energy efficient?

I have owned my MAYTAG washer for 6 months. It is still under factory warranty. When it broke, I called the support line (you wait on hold for over 15/20 min every time). They sent a 3rd party service group to my house. They had to order the broken parts which were both circuit boards and the drain pump. It took 2 weeks to come in. Once they installed that, the service provider realized that the rotor, the stater, the shifter and magnet base were also broken. They have had these parts on order for 2 weeks as well. My washer has been broken for 5 weeks now and is STILL not fixed. Maytag refuses to send me a new washer even though the entire top half has been replaced and they still have yet to replace everything below the tub. They also refuse to reimburse my laundry expenses for these past 6 weeks. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Do NOT buy MAYTAG or WHIRLPOOL products.

Absolutely the worst washing machine ever owned. Walks with every rinse and spin cycle. So loud can be heard outdoors with the doors closed. Walked into dryer and disconnected the dryer vent. Carbon monoxide. Service rep came. Said just a flaw with the type of machine. Even with trying to level clothing perfectly still the same hassle. Because of the incident with dryer vent must babysit machine with every load. Do not purchase this machine. Not only is it a nuisance it Is dangerous as carbon monoxide poisoning could've happened but it's also damage causing as rattling cracks tile flooring.

Purchased a Maytag Washer Model MVW7230HC Aug. 5/2020. This year Aug. 9/24 the Main Control board went for a total cost of $609 for parts and service. I could have bought a new one for that price except I would have had to buy the matching dryer as they are in our entryway/mudroom. The set was still like new - maybe do 2 loads a week. I wrote and emailed Maytag 3 times already and absolutely no response. Very poor product and Very Poor Customer Relations.

My machine is not even a year old and I have been waiting on a piece for over a month. Each time I’m on hold for over 45 min to just speak to someone. And then they give me the runaround. I have had the machine for less than a year and it has been sitting for 3 months while they are waiting for the part. Customer service is not helpful and give different answers. So I have $1000 dollar machine that is less than a year old that is sitting because I can’t use it. While at the laundromat I met someone who has the same issue with the same machine.

We purchased a washer (Model: MVW6500MBK0) about six months ago and it is having issues. Not only is it really loud but it will not spin out all the water. Everything is still dripping water when it is done. It is now not even starting half the time. It acts like it is going to start, locking the lid and all, but nope. I have been trying to get ahold of customer support for almost an hour now. STAY AWAY from Maytag.

Maytag Bravos. We’ve had it for a few years and as the years go by, it gets worse and worse!! We went from large loads to medium loads BUT NOW we have a hard time with small loads. It does its wash THEN during to the spin cycle, it DOES NOT complete this cycle then the machine shuts off. NEVER AGAIN buying a Maytag!! What a piece of crap. If I know someone that’s considering buying one and we’re around, WE WILL tell them our problems and hopefully they’ll buy another brand. Good riddance Maytag.

Bought a Maytag agitator washing machine and it is AWFUL. Everything gets twisted together which makes the clothes get stretched out of shape and then most of the items need to be ironed if you don't want to look like you slept in them. The water level is so low that it would not dissolve the detergent - even the new laundry sheets would be left in pieces and leave white marks on the dark clothes. Why isn't there a class action suit against Maytag?

Purchased Maytag Washer and dryer in February 2024, delivery date 2/22/24. Worst experience ever! The washer has been repaired twice and dryer once. The products were purchased from Home Depot and Allstate (five year) warranty. Both companies keep referring me to other, no resolution to issue. I'm frustrated and continuously transporting our cloths to be washed, while new machines are inoperative. It's time to provide us with new machines or reimburse my money. I am also going to contact BBB, media and others regarding this matter.

I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer approximately 2 years ago traditional top-load washer. Although the dryer works fine, the paint finish on the top of the dryer is already wearing through to metal. It is so cheaply built that the metal feels like the same thickness as a Beer can! The WASHING machine on the other hand is by far THE WORST APPLIANCE/WASHING MACHINE I have ever owned DO NOT PURCHASE A MAYTAG TOPLOAD WASHER!!! IT does NOT get your clothes clean!! IT will TIE them up in knots that would make an Eagle Scout proud!! And I have tried every setting/combo on the machine!!

My Maytag Washer MVWX655DW1 was violently spinning, called MT customer service, they transferred my call around 5 different operators within 2 hours on hold, the last person finally told me the "10 years warranty" is for the motor and the drum ONLY. Anything else that broke down, I'm responsible to fix it. This washer is in my vacation home, we use twice/mo during 3 months we stayed there and the washer is 7 yr old. It means we used it totally 42 times. What a joke for an American brand. Stay away from this brand. You have warned.

The absolute farce in design requiring an Afresh cycle to be run before another load is run. You have machine loaded and soap inside, but when you start cycle., a message to empty machine and run a clean Afresh cycle. Never had a machine requiring a clean cycle before cleaning and I will never buy another Maytag with this again. This is inconvenient, a waste of water, soap, electricity, but mostly my time.

In April 24,2024 I bought a 4.5-CU High Efficiency Stackable Steam Cycle Front Load Maytag Washer machine for $1003.45. I am very disappointed with the product, because it does not drain when running WHITES, TOWELS, AND BULKY ITEMS cycles. I had contacted Maytag customer service many times, they scheduled service for July 10th, August 21st, August 28th, September 18th, and the machine still doing the same.

Needed new washer and dryer after being disappointed by Fisher & Paykel. Spent a decent amount of money and the Lowe's salesperson telling us how wonderful it is to have no agitator. Well. No. First, I have never had clothes so twisted up in a washer in my life. I have been doing laundry for over 50 years. No matter how much or how little, you have to unwind everything - and the salesperson telling us how much strain an agitator puts on your clothes. No, having stuff wrapped around like one of those twisted together sheets a prisoner would use to escape from a tower would use - that puts a lot more stress on your clothing. Things would be so wrinkled that even ironing would be impossible.

I bought a Maytag front loading washer and dryer from Lowe’s a few years ago. Within the first year of owning it, I needed a repairman to come fix the washer 4 times. After the one year warranty was over, unfortunately I had not purchased an additional warranty, so I had to pay out of pocket for a repairman to come about 3 more times. I have given up and deal with the washing machine stopping mid-cycle and I just have to keep playing with the settings to try to get the load finished. I’m highly disappointed and disgusted with this brand. And now, just 3 years later I need to find another washing machine to purchase that will actually work.

Since Maytag was purchased by Whirlpool the quality has gone down to the lowest quality washers. When Maytag was owned by maytag they built a great machine. Seems no one builds a simple machine anymore. :( The government placing all the rules doesn't help at all either. Was hoping Trump would correct this as he said he would while in office but no change.

Where do I start. Purchased Maytag washer dryer set May 2023 after lifelong Whirlpool owner. I have had 10+ repair calls between both units. Had the motor fall apart on washer within the first 60 days. Replaced agitator. Dryer has had circuit board replaced twice along with control board. Dryer sensor replaced. Maytag wants almost $400 for a one year extended warranty. Maytag will not honor lemon law since none of the repairs are the same component except for the circuit board. Repair company not able to fix washer until a week and a half later. Paying another company to fix washer before we sell both units. Maytag quality is nowhere near what they should be.

Bought a Maytag dishwasher it has broken down several times. Repairman keeps canceling appts and just not showing up to repair machine. I have called Maytag multiple times over the last 2 months and they still haven’t done anything about it they scheduled me with another repairman 2 weeks ago. My appt with him is in 2 days and just got a text from him said he didn’t have the parts and was going to have to reschedule me. Keep in mind he hasn’t even came to look at the machine and has no idea as to what part or parts he may need. I am so fed up with this. Every time you have to call for repairs it’s a 45 min wait until someone answers you.

Purchased a washer dryer combo from Home Depot. After 4 months noticed the paint peeling in the dryer. Home Depot said it’s under warranty and to call Maytag. Customer service said they will send someone out but it’s not under warranty since it’s cosmetic! I said, "What happens if all the paint peels off," dead silence! Again she says it’s cosmetic. Even Home Depot thought it should be under warranty. Obviously Maytag doesn’t stand behind their products. We are retired so it’s not like the dryer was used that often or abused in any way.

The washer I bought MVW7232HW1 has been awful. It worked for 6 months. Then the mother board needed replaced. At 7.5 months it is broken again! They say it has to do with a magnetic disk covered with plastic and the prongs are broke so it is not washing the clothes. I also think the motherboard needs replaced again as it has signals scrolling across display and sometimes won’t turn on. Do Not Buy!

We purchased a Maytag washing machine, Model # MVW6200KW 3 1/2 years ago because Maytag was supposed to be such a "dependable" brand. We previously had a Sears washer which lasted well over 10 years. We purchased the extended warranty for 3 years. Well, exactly 3 1/2 years after our purchase the washing machine broke down. Had to call a Maytag repairman. He diagnosed it as a broken actuator and cam. Repair bill over $400.00. In researching this, I discovered the washing machine should have lasted 10 to 15 years. I sent a letter to Maytag customer service expressing my disappointment with the washing machine's reliability. They "respectfully declined" my request for any repair assistance since the warranty for this item had expired. (5 months ago) Way to go Maytag. So much for your logo, "Dependable from Day One!"

I purchased a Maytag washer in February 2024. It stopped working in September 2024. We immediately called customer service to get the machine fixed. It has now been over a month and the machine is still broken. My husband and I have spent countless hours on the phone with the appliance repair shop and with Maytag customer service. I will never purchase from Maytag or Whirlpool again.

It'll be a frosty day in July before I lose hard earned money on another Maytag. A stay at home mom that can't get through one load of laundry without the washer stopping and shutting down. Did I mention it's only a few years old?

Guess what I found out after my Maytag washer quit two years after purchasing it... They literally make them to last no longer than four years! This is straight out of a former Whirlpool employee's mouth. So guess what brand she never buys... Anything Whirlpool. Same with me. Never again. Our washer knocks so hard that it moves around the floor. We've called for help and are told to level it. Nope. Then they want to send someone out to fix it for over $200. Might as well buy a new washer. Don't waste your money people.

Beware! Our Maytag washer model MVW7232HC2 has been the worst appliance we’ve ever brought into our home, and their service isn’t any better. We had the washer for 5 months and it stopped working. Sure they have sent people out 4 times to try and fix, but still not repaired after 3 months. Took my clothes to a laundry mat and had some stolen so I’m basically stuck washing clothes in a bathtub. Worst mistake ever and thanks for nothing Maytag. This washing machine is a piece of junk at best.

I bought a new Maytag washer from Best Buy, thinking it’s in the best in market. The washer quit after around 4.5 months and their Maytag designated service partner (Diamond Factory) couldn’t fix it after 4 service visits and replacement of 3 controllers and other parts. I’ve been going to the Laundrymat for over 45 days, with no sympathy for Maytag, Whirlpool or Diamond Factory. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG WASHERS.

Bought a new Maytag front load washer and dryer. This is the worst washer I have ever used. The quick wash doesn't spin the clothes enough. They are literally still wet. I called for repair, that's the way it's made. They cannot adjust the spin cycle so I have to respin it if I want to use the quick wash. Duh, defeats the purpose of a quick wash. Contacting the company customer service was worthless. I put everything in my first email, then the rep asked for complete details again. They obviously don't listen or care. Then she said the quick wash was only for 3-4 items. Told her it still did the same thing. I will never buy Maytag again. The doors are so cheaply made. I'll be lucky to get several years from this set. I wish I would have bought the GE

We purchased a new washer and dryer 3 1/2 weeks ago. The dryer started making a metallic noise which got worse and worse. It was on a weekend so we waited until Monday to call the repair people that our warranty covered. They told us it would be a week until they could send someone out. I was furious. I called a private company that I trust to come out and see if they could figure out the problem. They diagnosed it right away, but it is a costly repair so I thought we should let our warranty cover the cost. Lo and behold there was a cancellation and their repairman came out the next day. Of course, he didn’t have the part and needed to order it.

I have a 9 month old Maytag washer mvw5430mw. The lid locked with my clothing sitting in wash water. The machine went dead. Service is under warranty. They told me I need a new pump. We unplugged the machine waiting for it to let us open the lid, so we could retrieve our clothing and take it to a friend's house to finish washing it. It's been a week. Waiting for the part to be located. Then, they'll fix the machine. At this point, I'd like a new machine, different brand. Don't buy this loser!

We bought a top load washer on 1/31/22 for $850, lasted 2 1/2 years. I had to replace the rods that hold the drum three weeks ago, and now the board went out. We average one half load of clothes a day, only three people in the house. The part isn't under warranty and costs over $300. I will never buy another Maytag appliance, complete junk.

Maytag Washer broke down after 2 years with repair estimate of $600+. Already spent $200 for repair after first year. Out of warranty in 1 year and 10 year Limited Parts warranty does not cover my parts. DO NOT BUY Maytag or Whirlpool without the extended warranty because their machines are junk.

2 month old Maytag washer broken. Tech replaced actuator, ordered wire harness, control board, and lid latch. Lowe's would do nothing for me. Maytag only wants to fix it but takes forever to fix it. Complete junk, no customer service and Maytag does not stand behind their products. They have rude customer service that can't make decisions and has no authority to help you. Phone line is only open Monday thru Friday during work hours. Try to call from work finally get a person who can't help you and take an hour of your time without your boss asking you why you have been on the phone so long. All they can say is we can send someone out. If you ask questions they do not know anything but will deny or lie to you just to get you off the phone. Do not buy extended warranty. Not worth it if it takes them a month to fix it. Also if it breaks after 2 months. Ask yourself how often this product is going to need to be repaired or last.

This has been the worst washer I have own. First I was told I could purchase an extended warranty. The representative changed her mind. There was a difference in a definition of an English word. I eventually got an estimate to repair the washer. The repairs cost more than a new washer. While the service is equally horrible. I recommend consumers Stay away from this brand.

Maytag mvw 565 fw1 top loader bought in 2020. Worst machine l have ever owned. Out of balance since new. Never had a trouble free spin with it. Replace all new suspension rods, rub pads and lid switch. This machine was 750 bucks and l will NEVER BUY MAYTAG AGAIN. JUNK JUNK JUNK.

Without a doubt the worst tech support company I have dealt with... Washer 14 months old 2 months out of warranty and now making a loud noise. Maytag doesn't provide any service tech... What kind of quality is this.. Horrible service.

We bought a Maytag washer in 2020 and by 2023 the lid (plastic part) around the lid locking mechanism had broken, so the locking mechanism would not work--thus, the washer would not start. After reading multiple reviews about this poorly designed lid, I contacted Maytag. The CS rep said that this was not a warranty issue and that I would need to pay a company referred technician to come out and diagnose the problem. My photos of the broken lid would not suffice. Then, I would need to pay approximately $300 for a new lid, and then pay for the labor charge to install it. This is definitely a common issue and Maytag will not take responsibility for the poor design of the lid. Stay away from Maytag!

I honestly haven't been very happy with my Maytag washer that I purchased 4 1/2 years ago. I have had to replace the drive hub 4 times in the last 6 months or less. I will be going on my 5th time replacing another drive hub that was just replaced 5 days ago.

Maytag washer, 5 month old. Basket, motherboard, wiring harness, lock, suspension pump, who knows what’s broken. They’ve been out 7 times, still down for last 3 months. Have taken 7 days off work to be here for repair person. Have spent hundreds at the laundromat, and WORSE customer service. Told we just need to keep fighting. Told we someone will call back. Crickets. Told it’s “fixable”. Maytag has now spent more on parts and labor than if they would have just given us a new machine. I’m done with all Maytag. Can’t wait to solve this and get my new Speed Queen. IF I COULD GIVE THIS LESS THAN ONE STAR I WOULD.

We purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer. Everything was great and then the washer started destroying our white clothes. We tried to troubleshoot, stopped using bleach, oxiclean, etc., even changed to cold water, delicate cycle. Didn't seem to help. My husband has white under shirts. We’ve had to buy more due to the washer. Reached out to customer service, still waiting on a response.

We purchased a Maytag washer and dryer set in June. The washer is still working however a month after purchasing the dryer the motor went out. Using the Maytag warranty we called to have it repaired. My husband told the tech that based on the noises the motor was not working. The service tech arrived a week after we called. When the tech arrived he diagnosed that the motor wasn’t working however don’t have one on the van. The tech had to reschedule and come out a 10 days later.

We purchased a MIT, Maytag Industrial Technology, 22 kg washer. The metal has quickly rusted. It goes off balance a majority of the time even with the lightest of loads. We have made many prior Maytag purchases, but this washer is the worst of all. We have had Maytag repair out many times to no avail. Caveat emptor.

This was my first Maytag set I have ever owned and will be the last. I always wanted a set but it was cost prohibited for me until now. I have owned both for a year and have already had the repair out 4 times and is now going to have the. Here again. They have replaced everything that could have been replace minus the motor and still it keeps failing. After the first breakdown at days before the warranty ended I decided to purchase the extended warranty. Glad I did; however the downtime isn't worth it. I wish I'd purchased another washer with the money I paid for the extended warranty. Maytag used to put the service guy outta work but now He work a lot of overtime apparently. NEVER WILL I own Maytag again.

Bought brand new Maytag washer and dryer. 1 month after I had bought appliances the dryer knob broke twice and then a third time plastic junk. Then the dryer started squeaking and the washer sounded like a train coming. The washer basket began to rust at the top and it’s been one thing after another. I called the warranty division about the knob and they sent a new one but that broke as well.

I bought a Maytag 8 months ago and it broke down. They said it might be the wire harness or the pump- My last washer lasted me 20 years or so with minor break downs- I will never buy a Maytag again any product- Just like when my Samsung fridge died I will never by Samsung again - only the t.v. Samsung is good- They must think we print money to cheat people like they do.
