    We built a new home and moved into it 1.5 years ago. All new appliances. Our Maytag washer and dryer were purchased new from a local appliance dealer, not a big box store. They both have been nothing but problems. Now out of warranty the repairs are now just guessing as no errors or codes have been found when diagnosing the issues. We have provided videos and that the washer does not work correctly is a known fact.

    When the dealer escalated the issue to MAYTAG'S Escalation team (must have a lot of these types of problems to have a designated team to handle these type of issues), they denied any help. The repairman said all he could do is replace everything until its fixed. The dealer is seeking some help from their rep but no answers yet. Go look at Maytag's website and see how they boast of their products' dependability, Then call them and find out for yourself the hold times.... Never spoke to anyone after holding for over an hour. I have videos of the machine washing our clothes without any water in the tub. But service says no issues found while admitting the washer is certainly defective. I am happy to share the videos.

    We purchased a Maytag Commercial Technology top loading washing machine in 2020. Unfortunately, there is a Clean Washer (with Afresh) cycle that randomly comes on after one has already added a full load and soap/softener to the machine. There is no button that will clear the CW cycle to enable the machine to proceed with current washing cycle. It takes about 7-? times of shutting the machine off and on to get the CW cycle to finally clear. Also, the start of a CW cycle happens at random and I’m guessing after 20- 30 loads and one can’t be expected to keep a running tally of the load number one is on. For this reason, I would never purchase a Maytag washer again. Whomever came up with this crazy idea to add a CW cycle without a clear cycle button doesn’t wash their own clothes! Grrrrrrr…

    Here is my experience with the Maytag washer. It broke almost immediately as the washer wouldn't lock. Had someone come out to fix that. Then the basket broke (started slamming side-to-side within the washer). Then the "Drain and Spin" broke. It would add more water every time I tried to use the "Drain" option. Could never get anyone on the phone. Just one big endless Phone tree that never connects you. Other than that, it was great.

    After having washer for only four months it stopped spinning clothes. After numerous calls and hours of waiting we were able to schedule repair for the next week. Due to weather the service technician was unable to make the appointment. We explained codes and he decided it was drain pump and ordered the part. He rescheduled visit for the following week. The time comes for repair and we get another phone call stating the part is on back order and no idea when they will get it. We have been without a washer for a month and no idea when we may get it fixed. It is four months old and we are without a washer. Customer service is terrible. You get put on hold for hours for them to get disconnected or give you the runaround. Never again will we buy a Maytag product. I do not recommend to anyone.

    We purched this washer late November early December. The clothes come out so wrinkled. I used to be able to hang our jeans and sweaters to dry. Now jeans need ironed as do sweaters. Sheets and towels are the same covered in wrinkles. Worst machine. Don't buy.

    This is my 2nd purchase of a top load Maytag washer within 30 days.The most recent Whirlpool washer Model# MVW723HC I bought from Menards in WVa.It never covers my clothes with water before the agitator starts, or during washing cycle. It tears up a lot of my towels, wash rags, clothes, new coats even delicates are not safe with this JUNK machine. Customer Service says it works as it was designed to do and they are not willing to buy back the washer. I have to say I will never purchase another Whirlpool washer and dryer in my lifetime! Speed Queen is the way to go...

    Just bought this junk, can't seem to get my work clothes clean no matter what setting probably because it's high efficient it will wash for an hour and a half with no water, not sure how that is supposed to get clothes clean. My old washer was 20 minutes and clean clothes but it actually used water, go figure

    I bought 4 years ago thinking Maytag must be a very good choice but soon found out that it doesn’t wash no matter how you separate the fabric or the color or reduce the size of load! Nothing worked! Changed soap so many times to get the white clean and not stained!!! Now the rinse stop working and I will not put any money on this garbage! NEVER AGAIN I will buy this brand. Reputation is way over made. Real crap.

    Washing machine is garbage.....again! Purchased first Maytag and in a year it stopped working. Thought maybe it was just a lemon so we purchased the second Maytag washer and within 6 months (July) same thing. Luckily we had purchased the Allstate Protection after getting stung the first time. The second washer stopped working within 6 months (December) again. The warranty deemed it beyond repair and is supposedly refunding our purchase price. Save yourself the head and do NOT waste your money on this trash!

    Do not buy Maytag - a huge disappointment! After just a years, our Maytag Dryer No longer working. Not sure if the heating element has went out or what the issue with the dryer. Several calls has been attempted to their customer service to schedule a service visit. No such luck. I attempted to do an online chat to schedule a service visit. No such luck.

    Purchased a Maytag washer (and Whirlpool dryer) in April of 2024. So far we have had to have the washer repaired 7 times and the dryer 2x. The washer is the worse appliance I've ever purchased. It overflowed and we had to replace our entire kitchen floor from the water damage. They have replaced numerous parts and the last service call was a replacement of the rods and all the bushings were broken! Also the screws in the back of the washer were not the original ones or the back of the washer was not the original. They didn't line up! I've called the company 3 times to seek a replacement or reimbursement to no avail. I've written to BBB who also contacted them but to no avail. I wish there was some way to get some satisfaction!!

    We purchased a MAYTAG washer Model #MVW7232HW2 on 7-5-24. Less than 6 months later (and over the holidays) the control panel/brain went out. It is on backorder with no anticipated arrival date. Customer service was rude and REFUSES to help. They stated “we just have to wait for the process to work.” Several trips to the laundromat later - we are beyond frustrated that we not only purchased from a company that we thought was reputable, but have found how deplorable their customer service is. Our next step will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Shame on Maytag for producing junk and refusing to supply parts for repair within a responsible amount of time.

    I bought a new Maytag washer and dryer set in Aug of 2024. I had to request a replacement dryer twice due to deficiencies with the product. On the 3rd deliver, I requested them to just take them back but they refused. All of the reshipments resulted in my order exceeding the 48 hours permitted to do a return. Do not buy these products. I've had them 4 months now, they do work but they are very loud and both products are now squeaking in addition to their normal loud noise.

    I bought a dryer in June 2023 and not more than a year and a half later it died on me. I spent over $550 on it and I will never purchase a Maytag again. And for people that don’t know, the 10 year limited warranty is only for the drum and not the electric parts I was never told that, but I guess it was my fault not looking it up but still why put a warranty that doesn’t cover electronic on it that’s the first thing to go out. This company is a fraud. Again, I will never buy me Maytag product ever again.

    Bought the Maytag front load washer MHW6630HC2 washer in 2021 (delivered 2022) for which I paid over $1,000 and the control board just died before Christmas 2024. The machine stopped working in the middle of a load. Repair will cost over $350. I’ve read online that this isn’t an uncommon problem with Maytag washers. I have an LG in a house we rent and my daughter has LG - no problems. We thought the Maytag was a better machine but we were fooled. I called Maytag and they basically said too bad since I didn’t have an extended warranty. I’ll never buy a Maytag or whirlpool product again!

    I bought a brand new Maytag washer in January 2024. It worked ok for nine months then the locking mechanism jammed. I waited over a month to get it fixed. Now, a month later it has jammed again. Can't get a hold of customer service. Spent $700 for a piece of crap. Never again!!!!

    Don’t do it!! I have a washer less than a year old sitting with water and clothes in a locked machine and they can’t send a technician to look at it for 2 weeks!! I even told them my son works with chemicals and needs to wash his work clothes every day. Completely unacceptable!

    We have both a washer and dryer that were made by Maytag and installed on May 22, 2022. We have had nothing but problems with both the washing machine and the dryer. I have paid over $500 in service calls for people to come out and repair them, I would not recommend them to anybody. The clothes do not get dry and you can’t customize the cycle. To run a load of white towels through the washing machine is two hours and 45 minutes and to dry that same load of clothes is over an hour and 35 minutes. Besides the drying problems, we continually have went back up in the blower motor and I just paid someone again $120 to come out two days ago to remove the excess lint. See attached photos.

    The detergent in the compartment in the washing machine is supposed to sense the size of the load and release the right amount of detergent after about two loads of laundry, water backflows into that compartment and diluted the liquid detergent is there so basically you’re washing with zero laundry detergent and just water. The model number on the dryer is MED8630HW2. Model number on the washer is MHW8630HW4. I would advise you to stay away.

    Purchased washer with the largest top load drum that I could find. I think 5.6. This thing is huge, great for king size thick comforters. So I thought. Well, if you can get it to actually max fill or hey I'd even medium fill that would be great. With or without water it agitates. Stops and say sensing..sensing why.. the outside drum spins then sometimes the center spins. The water level seems to be stuck on the smallest sensor. It never gets past it no matter how full the washer is. I've even, during the wash cycles paused and hit the fill button. Closed the lid.. it would fill all the way to the top..finally. (it thinks it's in soak mode) so I hit play to get it going again annnnnd, empties, spins out and says done. Try, try again...same results doesn't matter what cycle it it on.

    Another.. some clothes and blankets I can only wash in cold or cool water.. every time the rinse cycle is very warm if not hot. I did find this out after my first few trial washes. Tried to return.. Lowes doesn't take back after 2 days unless you buy with their card. Tried to get Maytag to help, they said since we didn't buy from them they couldn't take them back. Just want you to know your options for returns so you're prepared in case you're not happy. No one wants to take them back, because they know that no one will be happy with these machines...

    Bought a Maytag commercial 5 years ago past July. Every year one or two things broke all the way up to end of warranty. Every part was replaced twice. Four months after warranty end, electrical board is going again! Rip off!!

    Updated on 10/23/2025: If I could give no stars I definitely would. I purchased a Maytag washing machine just over a year ago from Teppermans and it is now broken for the second time. The first time it broke it was 5 weeks old. Appliance Pros sent a tech 3 times over 4 weeks who finally fixed the issue. I was without a washer for a month. I took 3 days off work and the tech would sometimes not show up.

    A year later the washing machine isn’t working again and Appliance Pros said they were sending a technician yesterday (took another day off work) and surprise no tech because they gave him my phone number with a missing digit. So that’s now 4 days off work and several trips to a laundry mat. I’ve incurred more in lost wages and laundromat costs than the machine is worth and I still have no response as to when a tech will be available to come and look at it let alone get it fixed. I find this unacceptable for a washing machine that is a year old. I will never buy a Maytag washing machine again.

    Original Review: I purchased a Maytag washing machine and had it for all of 6 weeks before it broke. It stopped draining and I was left with a sopping wet mess. A repair person has been to my house 3 times and I’ve been without laundry for almost a month. I’ve had to take time off work, inconvenience family members to come and wait for a repair person and spend money at a laundromat. I bought a brand new Maytag washer because I thought they were reliable. I will never buy another one and I will tell everyone I know what a disappointing purchase it was.

    My Maytag dryer is 20 months old and the drive motor that's on the 10 years warranty has to be replaced. I ordered part from Whirlpool Rep, told item was in stock and I'm supposed to get an email when it ships. I'm still waiting on the email. Maytag washer was barely 3 years old and started stopping in cycles or spinning only to not pick up speed and die. Some of the cycle types have never worked. I did buy the extended warranty. Belt and another part were finally replaced.

    This week it would stop in a cycle and three lights would flash. There was also a strong burnt grease smell coming from it. Tech came and said the problem was low water pressure which is laughable. One time water kept pouring in and filled the drum over halfway. I was also told they don't have motors so no grease burning to smell. What runs it? I'm getting it repaired and the dryer part but will not install. I'm buying a better brand of both and will sell for junk. People, research the time frame that's allowed for their products to be repaired in. They could owe you money for the wait. I told the tech yesterday he had two days not counting the weekend to fix the washer. Check with your states lemon law on washer and dryers. All states are different but if yours falls into your states guidelines, you may be able to get a new washer replacement or your money back.

    I am writing this out of exhaustion in hopes I can save someone else the frustration I am experiencing with my Maytag washer. I purchased a service contract in May when the washer first stopped working. The issue was never repaired correctly, and there was a recall on the machine at the time that the tech and D&G never disclosed. The washer stopped working again in late October. I scheduled a second call, waited 2 weeks for parts and then found out in early November it needed several more parts and extensive work to repair. It does not operate at all, and it is a fire hazard according to the technician. He said they noted their recommendation for a replacement in the service notes, but D&G denies seeing the notes.

    I have tried calling D&G and Maytag to ask them to refund/credit back my service plan since the machine does not work, and they can't tell me when the parts will be available. So far, they have refused to replace the machine or credit my service plan. They state I must wait for the repair even though they can't tell me when they can have it repaired. Further, they require the machine breaks down 3 times before they will consider honoring the replacement clause in the contract. If you are considering a Maytag appliance or an extended service contract, do yourself a favor and go a different route.

    Just purchased a set in March. Had to have the tech come to my house 5 times for the washer and dryer. Now the washer says suds all of the time even tho we aren't using heavy amounts of soap, and yes we are using HE! It threw a code e1 f9 and we couldn't get are clothes out of it for almost 2 days, and when we did get it open I had to hand ring every piece of clothing out because they were soaked!! Do not recommend buying Maytag!

    I bought this used washer for $200 on Marketplace. Boy, I was bamboozled & can see why they were selling it!!! Worst washer EVER!!!! I wish that I would have read the reviews first. Manual states, "low water washer." YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!! Water level only fills inches below clothes & leaves clothes dry on top!!!! Agitator is not aggressive at all, it just sloshes clothes around somewhat. Save your money!

    I have had a Maytag washer for 2 1/2 years. I have had to have someone come out and fix things on it 3 times and about to be a 4th. Of course, it is never something covered under the warranty. We have actually paid for a new washer with all repairs that have been done.

    Absolute junk - destroyed so many items - sweaters, dish regs, jog pants - literally shredded. Using the drain and spin - doesn't do anything - it adds more water so items are still waterlogged after the cycle. DID a 2 year old design this washer. Photo is one of MANY destroyed items - less than 3 years old the washer is.

    I bought my Maytag a year ago. It wouldn’t work the day I bought it from Lowe’s brand new. Returned it and stupidly got the same thing. It works when it wants to, it starts a cycle but doesn’t run through the cycle, goes straight to “ done”. Walk away thinking the washer is doing its job. To come back and see the clothes are still dry. Sometimes it never has an issue, most days it chooses what it wants to do.

    On July 23, 2024 they delivered my Maytag washer. It worked very well for one month then the computer sensor went out. The repair guy came and told me that it got water in it. That's why it burned it out that was seven weeks ago. They were supposed to come today which is November 20 to repair it and they have delayed it for two more weeks, this is the worst experience I've ever had with Maytag Washer. I've never bought a brand new wash machine machine had a break in within one month. I wouldn't recommend anyone buying a Maytag washing machine ever. They will not replace it because they say it's repairable. A brand new washer should not have to be repaired. I have no idea how they could say Water got into the computer. It's a wash machine. Of course they get water. They've been giving me the runaround for seven weeks like I said and now they want me to wait two more and they are the most unhelpful customer service ever.

    We purchased a new top of the line Maytag washer and matching dryer and pedestals 6 months ago. FIVE weeks ago, it started shooting out codes of F3 and E6. Called place we bought the washer/dryer from and they contacted Maytag for service work. Repairman came and replaced the motherboard and it still would not work. The technician spent over an hour with the "master technician" from Maytag trying to repair it and had to order more parts. The parts were supposed to be here in a week. Just found out yesterday that the parts were just shipped on the day they were to have arrived at the repair place for them to install them and will not be here for almost another week. No communication.

    We are now 5 weeks plus into not having a washer. I am having to haul my clothes to get them washed and then bring them home to dry them. This is not what I signed up for. I was wanting a new matching set for when my husband and I retired. It looks like we are going to have to buy yet another set, DEFINITELY NOT MAYTAG! We are going to make them repair it, but they are trying to run out the warranty on the washer. I have always had Maytag in the past and had very few issues with their machines. My father used to sell them and swore by them. Not anymore! Please DO NOT BUY MAYTAG ANYTHING. We are beyond frustrated with this company. They do not stand behind their products.

    I've have a Maytag Centennial washer and dryer and they have been the worst appliances I have ever owned. The water sensor NEVER allows enough water to clean leaving whatever is on the very top of the load to stay dry and dirty. The cleaning cycle is only 10 mins which is not enough time when there isn't an agitator (which is supposed to be better for your clothes) or enough water. I have to wash EVERY SINGLE LOAD TWICE, sometimes 3 times, so how is that saving water exactly? And large loads, forget it. If I fill it more than halfway, the top half of the clothes do NOT get clean. The pre-soak cycle is a joke and if you try to soak it any longer the washer by keeping the lid up, it AUTOMATICALLY drains the water so you have to refill it, wasting soap and water. So again, how is it energy efficient?

    The dryer leaves BURN marks on everything even on the low setting and if you dry anything on low, you have to to dry it 3 times. I've had to throw away 2 quilts and countless shirts because of the dryer damage. Whoever made these appliances should be fired because they are the dumbest person on the planet. I will be throwing both of them away and purchasing a dryer and washer with an agitator this weekend. I will NEVER buy a Maytag product ever again.

    I have owned my MAYTAG washer for 6 months. It is still under factory warranty. When it broke, I called the support line (you wait on hold for over 15/20 min every time). They sent a 3rd party service group to my house. They had to order the broken parts which were both circuit boards and the drain pump. It took 2 weeks to come in. Once they installed that, the service provider realized that the rotor, the stater, the shifter and magnet base were also broken. They have had these parts on order for 2 weeks as well. My washer has been broken for 5 weeks now and is STILL not fixed. Maytag refuses to send me a new washer even though the entire top half has been replaced and they still have yet to replace everything below the tub. They also refuse to reimburse my laundry expenses for these past 6 weeks. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Do NOT buy MAYTAG or WHIRLPOOL products.

    Absolutely the worst washing machine ever owned. Walks with every rinse and spin cycle. So loud can be heard outdoors with the doors closed. Walked into dryer and disconnected the dryer vent. Carbon monoxide. Service rep came. Said just a flaw with the type of machine. Even with trying to level clothing perfectly still the same hassle. Because of the incident with dryer vent must babysit machine with every load. Do not purchase this machine. Not only is it a nuisance it Is dangerous as carbon monoxide poisoning could've happened but it's also damage causing as rattling cracks tile flooring.

    Purchased a Maytag Washer Model MVW7230HC Aug. 5/2020. This year Aug. 9/24 the Main Control board went for a total cost of $609 for parts and service. I could have bought a new one for that price except I would have had to buy the matching dryer as they are in our entryway/mudroom. The set was still like new - maybe do 2 loads a week. I wrote and emailed Maytag 3 times already and absolutely no response. Very poor product and Very Poor Customer Relations.

    My machine is not even a year old and I have been waiting on a piece for over a month. Each time I’m on hold for over 45 min to just speak to someone. And then they give me the runaround. I have had the machine for less than a year and it has been sitting for 3 months while they are waiting for the part. Customer service is not helpful and give different answers. So I have $1000 dollar machine that is less than a year old that is sitting because I can’t use it. While at the laundromat I met someone who has the same issue with the same machine.

    We purchased a washer (Model: MVW6500MBK0) about six months ago and it is having issues. Not only is it really loud but it will not spin out all the water. Everything is still dripping water when it is done. It is now not even starting half the time. It acts like it is going to start, locking the lid and all, but nope.     Maytag Bravos. We’ve had it for a few years and as the years go by, it gets worse and worse!! We went from large loads to medium loads BUT NOW we have a hard time with small loads. It does its wash THEN during to the spin cycle, it DOES NOT complete this cycle then the machine shuts off. NEVER AGAIN buying a Maytag!! What a piece of crap. If I know someone that’s considering buying one and we’re around, WE WILL tell them our problems and hopefully they’ll buy another brand. Good riddance Maytag.

    Bought a Maytag agitator washing machine and it is AWFUL. Everything gets twisted together which makes the clothes get stretched out of shape and then most of the items need to be ironed if you don't want to look like you slept in them. The water level is so low that it would not dissolve the detergent - even the new laundry sheets would be left in pieces and leave white marks on the dark clothes. Why isn't there a class action suit against Maytag?

    Purchased Maytag Washer and dryer in February 2024, delivery date 2/22/24. Worst experience ever! The washer has been repaired twice and dryer once. The products were purchased from Home Depot and Allstate (five year) warranty. Both companies keep referring me to other, no resolution to issue. I'm frustrated and continuously transporting our cloths to be washed, while new machines are inoperative. It's time to provide us with new machines or reimburse my money.     I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer approximately 2 years ago traditional top-load washer. Although the dryer works fine, the paint finish on the top of the dryer is already wearing through to metal. It is so cheaply built that the metal feels like the same thickness as a Beer can! The WASHING machine on the other hand is by far THE WORST APPLIANCE/WASHING MACHINE I have ever owned DO NOT PURCHASE A MAYTAG TOPLOAD WASHER!!! IT does NOT get your clothes clean!! IT will TIE them up in knots that would make an Eagle Scout proud!! And I have tried every setting/combo on the machine!!

    My Maytag Washer MVWX655DW1 was violently spinning, called MT customer service, they transferred my call around 5 different operators within 2 hours on hold, the last person finally told me the "10 years warranty" is for the motor and the drum ONLY. Anything else that broke down, I'm responsible to fix it. This washer is in my vacation home, we use twice/mo during 3 months we stayed there and the washer is 7 yr old. It means we used it totally 42 times. What a joke for an American brand. Stay away from this brand. You have warned.

    The absolute farce in design requiring an Afresh cycle to be run before another load is run. You have machine loaded and soap inside, but when you start cycle., a message to empty machine and run a clean Afresh cycle. Never had a machine requiring a clean cycle before cleaning and I will never buy another Maytag with this again. This is inconvenient, a waste of water, soap, electricity, but mostly my time.

    In April 24,2024 I bought a 4.5-CU High Efficiency Stackable Steam Cycle Front Load Maytag Washer machine for $1003.45. I am very disappointed with the product, because it does not drain when running WHITES, TOWELS, AND BULKY ITEMS cycles. I had contacted Maytag customer service many times, they scheduled service for July 10th, August 21st, August 28th, September 18th, and the machine still doing the same.

    In the beginning was easy to contact Customer Service but after the last service in September, when I called, they place me on hold. I sent a letter. No answer yet. After many days traying to contact them, finally someone answered, and I asked for my money back because this washer machine has not worked since the beginning. The Customer Service representative was very nice and explained to me that I have to go through all the process before Maytag decide what are they going to do, so she scheduled other service for October 9th and October 16th. This is unacceptable.

    I choose to buy a Maytag washer machine because their good reputation and because I have 2 friends that have Whirlpool and Maytag washer machines that are almost 20 years old and never have had a problem with them. They wash comforters and towels, and those machines work excellently. It's obvious that they do not have the same standards of quality as before. I do not want any more a Maytag washer machine, I have had a very bad experience. I had others washer machines before, but this one has been the worst. As I said before this is unacceptable. I want my money back to buy something that help me to save time as home maker, I do not want to go to a coin laundry just to wash a set of bed sheets and a blanket and have a big machine taking space in my laundry room. I do not want a replacement, because I read reviews of people with the same problem. I want my money back.

    Needed new washer and dryer after being disappointed by Fisher & Paykel. Spent a decent amount of money and the Lowe's salesperson telling us how wonderful it is to have no agitator. Well. No. First, I have never had clothes so twisted up in a washer in my life. I have been doing laundry for over 50 years. No matter how much or how little, you have to unwind everything - and the salesperson telling us how much strain an agitator puts on your clothes. No, having stuff wrapped around like one of those twisted together sheets a prisoner would use to escape from a tower would use - that puts a lot more stress on your clothing. Things would be so wrinkled that even ironing would be impossible.

    Then, hardly any water. I don't understand how jiggling your clothes in just barely enough water to not even cover them is supposed to be good. Even the "soak" choice is just a puddle of water, nothing's being soaked. The latest thing though, is no matter what is in the washer the spin cycle is out of balance. So, if I take the clothes out and spin a few at a time it might behave, or it might not, and the noise and vibration is enough to drive you out of the house.

    What a total 100% piece of junk from day one. I have never owned an appliance I wanted to fail so I could replace it. Junk Junk Junk. And from research, it appears this is some sort of bearing problem that of course is not under warranty and expensive to repair. Maytag dependability. Right. Next machine is going to be the cheapest basic knob thing I can find. I don't need 87 different wash levels. No one uses that junk. Plus, I don't need to communicate with the washer via phone. Stop with the extra useless stuff and make a washer that works. To think my mom's Kenmore lasted 30 years. This pile of ** is maybe 4 years old.

    I bought a Maytag front loading washer and dryer from Lowe’s a few years ago. Within the first year of owning it, I needed a repairman to come fix the washer 4 times. After the one year warranty was over, unfortunately I had not purchased an additional warranty, so I had to pay out of pocket for a repairman to come about 3 more times. I have given up and deal with the washing machine stopping mid-cycle and I just have to keep playing with the settings to try to get the load finished. I’m highly disappointed and disgusted with this brand. And now, just 3 years later I need to find another washing machine to purchase that will actually work.

    Since Maytag was purchased by Whirlpool the quality has gone down to the lowest quality washers. When Maytag was owned by maytag they built a great machine.     Where do I start. Purchased Maytag washer dryer set May 2023 after lifelong Whirlpool owner. I have had 10+ repair calls between both units. Had the motor fall apart on washer within the first 60 days. Replaced agitator. Dryer has had circuit board replaced twice along with control board. Dryer sensor replaced. Maytag wants almost $400 for a one year extended warranty. Maytag will not honor lemon law since none of the repairs are the same component except for the circuit board. Repair company not able to fix washer until a week and a half later. Paying another company to fix washer before we sell both units. Maytag quality is nowhere near what they should be.

    Bought a Maytag dishwasher it has broken down several times. Repairman keeps canceling appts and just not showing up to repair machine. I have called Maytag multiple times over the last 2 months and they still haven’t done anything about it they scheduled me with another repairman 2 weeks ago. My appt with him is in 2 days and just got a text from him said he didn’t have the parts and was going to have to reschedule me.     Purchased a washer dryer combo from Home Depot. After 4 months noticed the paint peeling in the dryer. Home Depot said it’s under warranty and to call Maytag. Customer service said they will send someone out but it’s not under warranty since it’s cosmetic! I said, "What happens if all the paint peels off," dead silence! Again she says it’s cosmetic. Even Home Depot thought it should be under warranty. Obviously Maytag doesn’t stand behind their products. We are retired so it’s not like the dryer was used that often or abused in any way.

    The washer I bought MVW7232HW1 has been awful. It worked for 6 months. Then the mother board needed replaced. At 7.5 months it is broken again! They say it has to do with a magnetic disk covered with plastic and the prongs are broke so it is not washing the clothes. I also think the motherboard needs replaced again as it has signals scrolling across display and sometimes won’t turn on. Do Not Buy!

We previously had a Sears washer which lasted well over 10 years. We purchased the extended warranty for 3 years. Well, exactly 3 1/2 years after our purchase the washing machine broke down.     Guess what I found out after my Maytag washer quit two years after purchasing it... They literally make them to last no longer than four years! This is straight out of a former Whirlpool employee's mouth. So guess what brand she never buys... Anything Whirlpool. Same with me. Never again.     Beware! Our Maytag washer model MVW7232HC2 has been the worst appliance we’ve ever brought into our home, and their service isn’t any better. We had the washer for 5 months and it stopped working. Sure they have sent people out 4 times to try and fix, but still not repaired after 3 months. Took my clothes to a laundry mat and had some stolen so I’m basically stuck washing clothes in a bathtub. Worst mistake ever and thanks for nothing Maytag.     We purchased a new washer and dryer 3 1/2 weeks ago. The dryer started making a metallic noise which got worse and worse. It was on a weekend so we waited until Monday to call the repair people that our warranty covered. They told us it would be a week until they could send someone out. I was furious. I called a private company that I trust to come out and see if they could figure out the problem. They diagnosed it right away, but it is a costly repair so I thought we should let our warranty cover the cost. Lo and behold there was a cancellation and their repairman came out the next day. Of course, he didn’t have the part and needed to order it.

    I wasn’t available when he came so my husband watched what he did, but didn’t think to ask how long it would be before he received it. I’m so angry I could spit! I had a working dryer about 13 years old that I gave away because of this new one. We paid cash for both appliances. I wish we had put on a payment plan now because I wouldn’t pay another penny on either one and they could come and repossess them.

    I have a 9 month old Maytag washer mvw5430mw. The lid locked with my clothing sitting in wash water. The machine went dead. Service is under warranty. They told me I need a new pump.     2 month old Maytag washer broken. Tech replaced actuator, ordered wire harness, control board, and lid latch. Lowe's would do nothing for me. Maytag only wants to fix it but takes forever to fix it. Complete junk, no customer service and Maytag does not stand behind their products. They have rude customer service that can't make decisions and has no authority to help you. Phone line is only open Monday thru Friday during work hours. Try to call from work finally get a person who can't help you and take an hour of your time without your boss asking you why you have been on the phone so long. All they can say is we can send someone out. If you ask questions they do not know anything but will deny or lie to you just to get you off the phone. Do not buy extended warranty. Not worth it if it takes them a month to fix it. Also if it breaks after 2 months. Ask yourself how often this product is going to need to be repaired or last.

    We bought a Maytag washer in 2020 and by 2023 the lid (plastic part) around the lid locking mechanism had broken, so the locking mechanism would not work--thus, the washer would not start. After reading multiple reviews about this poorly designed lid, I contacted Maytag. The CS rep said that this was not a warranty issue and that I would need to pay a company referred technician to come out and diagnose the problem. My photos of the broken lid would not suffice. Then, I would need to pay approximately $300 for a new lid, and then pay for the labor charge to install it. This is definitely a common issue and Maytag will not take responsibility for the poor design of the lid. Stay away from Maytag!

    We purchased a Maytag washer and dryer set in June. The washer is still working however a month after purchasing the dryer the motor went out. Using the Maytag warranty we called to have it repaired. My husband told the tech that based on the noises the motor was not working. The service tech arrived a week after we called. When the tech arrived he diagnosed that the motor wasn’t working however don’t have one on the van. The tech had to reschedule and come out a 10 days later.

    When appointment day came in the appointment was cancelled due to the tech not being at work that day. We then had to wait another 10 days for him to come out. At this time the appointment was rescheduled due to him not having enough time to come out that day. We are now approaching the 5th week and are still waiting to get our dryer fixed. This has been a horrible experience. We have a household of 5 and a lot of laundry. Do not recommend.

    This was my first Maytag set I have ever owned and will be the last. I always wanted a set but it was cost prohibited for me until now. I have owned both for a year and have already had the repair out 4 times and is now going to have the. Here again. They have replaced everything that could have been replace minus the motor and still it keeps failing. After the first breakdown at days before the warranty ended I decided to purchase the extended warranty. Glad I did; however the downtime isn't worth it.     Bought brand new Maytag washer and dryer. 1 month after I had bought appliances the dryer knob broke twice and then a third time plastic junk. Then the dryer started squeaking and the washer sounded like a train coming. The washer basket began to rust at the top and it’s been one thing after another. I called the warranty division about the knob and they sent a new one but that broke as well.

    The metal housing on this knob turn should not be plastic because they will continue to crack on the inside and break. So I called the warranty division about the rusted basket (10 yr warranty on washer basket) and was told it may cost around $300 for trip service call and labor and that was just an estimate. It could be more. I told the rep "never mind". I will sell the junk and buy another name brand. Mind you, I had a Frigidaire front load washer with a stainless basket for 12 yrs. and I never had any rust issue. My Frigidaire dryer was 17 years old with no issues.

    Purchased a new set the end of Dec 2024. I had to call Maytag about the washer making a clicking noise after about a week. After their repairman was here about 7 times, it still is doing the exact same thing. Also the dryer will not dry 2 hand towels & a dishrag on "Quick Dry" cycle, after still the repairman was here 3 times. I was told to use the "Timer" setting & basically to lower my standards, or not compare to older models, that USE to be reliable.     We bought a Maytag washer in 2021. As soon as the warranty ran out so did the washer. First the agitator died and cost $ 200.00 to repair and now the belts and motor have burnt out. Even with the parts being provided by Maytag, it will still cost another $ 190.00 to install them. When we called Maytag service to try and get the parts under warranty, we gave them all the information about the washer, model number, date purchased, and even pictures of the parts needed with numbers from the technician.

    The pictures clearly showed the numbers on the parts, however, Maytag service couldn’t recognize the part or part numbers. They knew nothing about the washer or model and could only help us if we had a part number. Heaven forbid they open the parts manual to help us. This is absolutely the worst washing machine possible and the worst customer support we have had from a company. I would highly recommend never buying a Maytag washer. A total disaster!!!!!

    I purchased a PetPro washer and dryer in June. I would not recommend this product to anyone. The washer goes off balance several times a week, especially when I'm doing a normal size or small load. I've called out the repair specialist twice so far and he comes, presses some buttons, gives me grief about how I load the washer, then leaves. He doesn't fix the problem. The day after he came out, it went out of balance again. Looks like I'm going to call him out a third time, even though I don't have any confidence in him fixing it. I've been doing laundry for 50 years and have never experienced anything like this before. I'm so disappointed.

    Total garbage. I had a Maytag washer in my old house for about 18 years. Bought it new the week I moved in. Fast forward moved to a new house and I figured I'll buy another Maytag, should of read the reviews. The washer was always quirky. Some clothes would not clean or get wet. Over a hour to do a load. Washer was one month out of warranty when it got stuck on sensing and would not fill or do anything. Called a appliance repair man out and was told control board was faulty. Over 500 to repair. He suggested to contact Maytag. I did and initial was told that over a year and they cant help me. I said a washer should last more that a year and a moth. They reluctantly sent someone out and confirmed the board and the wiring harness had to be replaced and they would call me when the parts were in. 2 weeks go by and I called the place that was contracted by Maytag that the harness was on backorder and they had no idea when it would be in.

    I had enough at this point and called Maytag back and told them what was going on. They shipped it out in 4 days. They come and put the board and the harness in and it worked for 4 loads and then did the exact same thing again. Called the appliance place again and of course when they come out it works perfectly. I give up with this machine. Save your money and buy a Speed Queen.

    Purchased Maytag dryer on February 25, 2022 as a replacement for our Maytag dryer we purchased in 2009. On July 24, 2024 after 2 1/2 years the dryer stopped working. I called Maytag and was offered an extended warranty of 1 year before they sent someone out. Service rep. came and diagnosed problem as being the motor and blower. I later find out that the motor was covered under a 10-year warranty. Could not afford Extended Warranty so had to put it on monthly payments. Have contacted Maytag several times to see what they could do for me as a senior and all they offered was a $40 credit on my next purchase. Dryers should not fail after 2 years and a few months.

    Don’t spend more money on a Maytag product. They will break down just as fast or faster than any other manufacturer, and you will pay $100 - $200 more for each unit. They deceive you by having stickers on the machines stating “10 year limited parts warranty.” Now you think all the parts are warranted for 10 years, which other makes don’t have. Guess what? It’s not all the parts, just some of them. And they know which parts go faster. Total deception. Their complete warranty is only one year for all parts and labor. That’s nothing for a major appliance that costs more than others.

    I have a top of the line Maytag washer that would cost over $1,000 today, and the water inlet valve went bad. The washer is only 7 years old. That part is not covered. Part cost is over $100. Service tech is about $150. And don’t call Maytag for service, they are more expensive for labor as well. So save some money and buy brands like Whirlpool. According to my repair guy, stay away from Samsung and LG. They are good for TVs but not washers and dryers.

    In 2020 we had a flood that ruined our Hotpoint washing machine. We had it for many, many years and would be still using it had it not been for the flood. In making our purchase decision we wanted something good quality that would last as many years as the unit we were replacing. Based on their commercials, I thought Maytag was a good product. I was wrong. Paid over $900 for a washer. Broken after four years and two months. The 10 year warranty sticker on it didn't say one year real warranty, and then just motor and drum (not including $200 an hour labor) for years two through ten. If zero stars were an option, that is what I would have given the experience.

    If I could give a zero, I would. I spent $2,000 on a Maytag fridge. I’m 7 months into owning the fridge and am currently waiting for the technician to get to my house and replace the compressor (for the second time already).     We purchased our American made washer and drier and paid near 2000 dollars for our combo and didn’t get the extended warranty due to the fact we felt these were higher quality American made products that have a 10 yr motor warranty as seen on the front. It died 4 years into its life. The circuit board is out! Customer service told me that if I purchased the extended warranty they would do the repair. Why should you have to buy an extended warranty for something that cost so much and advertised as the best option. We are totally disappointed with our purchase!     This retired couple purchased a Maytag Dryer (model YMED6230HC) in 2022 and used it frugally, cleaning the filter after each use. Less than 2 years later the dryer suddenly had no heat regardless of the setting I used. The qualified repair technician determined that it was the master control board which had died. The repairs would cost more than half the price of a new dryer. So I am left with paying for a service call and disposing of a useless dryer I need to haul out of the basement. Lesson learned.     Maytag Washing Machine Model: MVWB765FW3 Serial # C85170199. Purchased 2/2019 with an extended warranty until 2/2024. March 2024 machine starts to experience intermittent shut downs. This machine is digital. I would put in a load of laundry, select my desired wash cycle, and press start. The machine would attempt to engage, but would shut it self completely off. I immediately contacted the warranty number through Home Depot. I was told that my warranty had expired. No other solution was offered, nor was any additional information given. I subsequently hired an approved Maytag Repairman. The washing machine was repaired at an out-of-pocket cost to me of $305.03.

    In July, my washing machine began experiencing the same intermittent shutdown. I again called out the approved Maytag Repairman. He assessed the new codes the machine was giving. He told me that the initial code, (F5) showed a lid lock error. (W10810403, PE4298XTN8). I am not sure what these numbers represent. Today, the machine was throwing a different code, (not sure what that is). However, he did physically lift the washing machine and told me that it appears to be (Gearbox # W11393685). The cost to fix this would be $464.65. At this time no repairs have been made. If I spend this additional amount, my total to fix this machine would now be $769.68. I am certain I can buy a brand-new machine for the cost of fixing this Maytag.

    Worst part, Customer Service at Maytag, Home Depot, and the Home Depot Warranty Company. No one cares. You call and get someone outside of the USA. I am simply out of pocket. My old washing machine lasted almost 30 years. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG!!!!

    I bought a Maytag washer and dryer about 5 years ago. In that time they both have had repairs. Now they are broke again. Tried to contact Maytag customer service by phone. Cannot talk to anyone. Tried live chat. Keep getting cut off. When you start the live chat it ask what you are inquiring about and gives you a list to choose from then you are asked to wait until they connect you with the next agent. After waiting 510 mins/get disconnected and have to start over. When they do connect you the agent says they well be with you momentarily and after waiting get disconnect again, when you do get the agent to respond if you take too long typing your response they say they are disconnecting due to no activity. Have been trying for 2 days now. When the washer and dryer are working they do a great job.

    Our second Maytag washer in 4 yrs now on the fritz (3 months old). Don't need a serviceman to come out for $150 to tell me the sensor is broke and costs more than the washer is worth to replace.     Maytag used to be the best appliance company in the world. I was so excited when I got my Maytag dishwasher, assuming it would be as good, if not better, than the Maytag products I have had for more than 20 years. However, now the brand might as well be synonymous with fraud: They claim their appliances have a 10-year warranty, but that actually only pertains to the stainless steel body, not the working parts. And the one-year warranty is not a replacement warranty. Understand this: They are willing to send a repair company to your home repeatedly over the course of the first year, eating up your precious time and doing nothing to fix the problem, then on day 366, you are on your own, with a piece of garbage. I would have been better off with an appliance warehouse generic than this expensive paperweight.     I purchased a washer and dryer set from Lowe's. Within 2 months the dryer began having issues. When I pressed the power button nothing happened as if power was lost. A service company came out saw an error message and stated he would order the part. A month go by and no word. I'm now two months after and Maytag is pushing for me to just wait till they can get these people to reply.     We purchased the Maytag Washer & Dryer set in Feb 2023. We have had nothing but issues since purchasing with the washer. It locks with clothes in it full of water and then stops. The repairman was out 4 times and every time he left it would work for a week and quit. We spent a fortune at laundromat. They ended up giving us a new in April 2024 and lo and behold, it did the same thing last night. All my appliances are Maytag and I would never purchase another one again.     We have a Maytag Bravo XL washing machine, Since we purchased the machine I have been dissatisfied with it, Understanding it is designed to be energy efficient I have had to learn to soak clothes before loading them into the machine to make it think there is more than there really is in order to get enough water, secondly I have to unplug the machine after use because it will continually power up otherwise, but the final straw is it is rusting faster than a cheap car. The machine no longer new. It's about five years old but it has been kept clean, our home has a water softening system throughout, it should last longer than this. Worth the value? No. I cannot say that it is.

    I am frustrated by the automatic sensors on my washer. Every three weeks, it gives a message that I have to clean my washer with Affresh. This happens after I have already put all my dirty laundry in the machine and poured in the soap. The machine will not allow you to continue with this load of laundry. It forces you to remove all the laundry and run the Affresh cycle. For a while I was wasting the soap, but then I figured out how to remove the soap tray and save the soap I had poured in. This may seem petty, but it is unacceptable to me to not be able to wash my laundry when I want to with this very expensive machine. I should have bought a cheaper one with less features.

    Myself and a friend each purchased a MT large capacity top load washer. These washers don't wash. The drum is too large and the agitator wings do not touch the clothes on the outside of the drum. My friend's 4-year-old puked on his clothes and washed them in the MT washer. There was still puke on the clothes. She had to wash again. I go through rewashing regularly. In trying to contact MT to see if they have an agitator with wider wings, you get nothing but spoiled rotten millennials in customer service and parts who hang up the call when their feelings get hurt.

    Their customer service line is cumbersome (16 minute hold times and a long list of prompts and hoops of fire to jump through). And the washer puts out a few squirts of water at the beginning of a cycle then the ineffectual agitator starts spinning back and forth on dry clothes doing absolutely NOTHING. The tub then fills with water and the agitator starts again and never touches the clothes on the perimeter of the tub. Does Maytag hire engineers to design washers? Do they test their designs? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to determine that a large tub with short agitator wings isn't going to get clothes clean. And Maytag doesn't want to hear about it.

    Our 5 years old Top load Maytag washer machine, stopped working and was making a loud buzz noise. I called Maytag Canada and I got a tech the next day to take troubleshoot our machine. During the service call, I was informed that I would need to replace the Computer board and the pump, which would cost nearly $650 in total. As a Biomedical equipment technician myself, I was surprised to see the technician attempting to diagnose the problem with only a few screwdrivers and no proper testing equipment such as a Voltmeter.

    After the technician left, I decided to investigate the issue further and discovered that a piece of metal was stuck in the pump impeller. After removing the obstruction and resetting the machine, it is now working perfectly fine. This leads me to believe that the initial diagnosis and recommendations provided by your technician were incorrect and trying to sell me parts that weren’t needed. I called customer service today to complain about the poor service from a incompetent technician. The rep was very rude and the manager the same. They told me that they won’t reimburse me the $145 that I paid for this tech to come to my house and trying to rip me off. Do not ever buy any appliances from Maytag. Also, do not ever call them for any service call. Find someone else that you can trust and knowledgeable.

    MVW6230HC2 Maytag Washer. Keep having to replace the water inlet valve part number W11096268. It will work for awhile then will not let any water in. We thought when first replaced it was fixed for a long time but it happened again. First fixed March 2023 then just in June 2024. Sad I have to keep the part on hand in my cabinet. I’d like to add it would be nice if the washer gave a few warnings before the washer cleaning cycle. It gives no warning. Put a load in & then it tells me. Then unload & run the cleaning.

    Updated on 08/22/2024: Wanted to upgrade my 23 year old USA made Maytag washer/dryer with new and improved. They still worked and gave to my daughter. Having it repaired for the 3rd time in less than a year for heater going out. Contacted Maytag after 2nd repair and they said, "Sorry you are having issues," and nothing else. Called for 3rd repair for the same thing and customer service said, 'We will send someone out," and asked if I would like to buy an extended warranty.

    They definitely don't stand behind their products. I purchased what I thought was the best product they had, $1,068.00 ea. on sale. You would think with the issue I have had with the heater they could have at least extended the warranty for free since their motto is: "Inside every Maytag appliance is the tough, hard-working spirit of American dependability. It’s more than commercial grade gears and gaskets – parts alone can’t cook a dinner for five. It’s a dedication to working better, stronger and longer." I found out the hard way that it's bull. Will never buy another Maytag. If I hadn't paid so much I would get rid of an buy something different.

    Original Review: I purchased the top-of-the-line washer and dryer set. I purchased in No October 2024 and the heater went out in May. They came out and fixed it on May 30. I use my washer for the first time on June 19 with hot water and it quit working again. They are now coming out for the second time to fix it, I would not recommend the Maytag brand anymore. If they weren’t so expensive I would get rid of them and purchase something different. I gave away my 23 Neptune made in the USA by Maytag and they were still in good working condition. I just wanted to upgrade. It is a decision I regret. I should’ve kept them till they quit working. I’m not impressed with the automatic dispensing drawer. If I want to use woolite Chris in a wash cycle, I have to pull the drawer halfway out and put the detergent into the drum with the clothes so the detergent in the dispenser isn’t dispensed into the washer.

    Maytag Whirlpool same thing used to be known for quality and customer care now it's known as a joke and the worst product on the market. Don't believe any of the ratings that you see and I wouldn't say own one to figure it out. What a brand new washer they came out five times to repair decided to replace it finally, it's only been about a year never used, it really cost me more in cost of time waiting and phone calls and still waiting to get it reinstalled new. Don't waste your time anymore with Maytag Whirlpool, you might as buy the cheapest thing they sell, you're getting the same product.

Because of our warranty they gave us a "new" one, but only from Bestbuy. Probably because it wasn't "new". It was refurbished!! 2 days after getting it, it broke too!!     Horrible! Washer is 6.5 months old. Does not get extreme use as there is usually just two of us here. It would not drain. This was on a Tuesday. Called them as it is under warranty. Repair man came out Friday and said needed new computer board. Came to fix following Tuesday once part came in. On Tuesday, he said the motor was burned out. Came back next day. Next day, said the harness was broke, which is why it wouldn't drain, which caused motor to burn up and computer board to go out. So had to replace harness, the motor and computer board.     Bought a Maytag washer and dryer match set (went top loader from 3 year old front loaders because it was easier), worst mistake ever. Our Electrolux front loaders were impressive. Our Maytag dryer makes a loud buzzing noise during complete cycle and the washer makes a loud squealing noise during the rinse cycle, both under a year old and under warranty. Called for warranty service and they said there was no one in our area and we had to locate a repair service, pay for it and get reimbursed up to $200 which barely gets you a service call.

    I waited about a month and called Maytag again and she said, "Your warranty ends the next day!" I said so what and demanded warranty service repair! She talked with her manager for some reason and said, "Ok. We will locate a service repair and let you know"... That was end of March 2024... Now it's end of May 2024 with no service yet!! We dealt with with warranty issue since Fall of 2023. Their machines suck and their customer service sucks even more! FYI I gave away our 3 year old stuff for free to a family member in need. Now I intend on buying another set again but it will be LG and I won't even give these Maytags away for free because they belong in the scrap yard!

    We bought a Maytag washer less than three years ago. It has broke three times. This time they can’t find out what is wrong with it. I have asked to speak with a supervisor several times yet none has called me back. The people I have spoken to claim to not have record that the washer was ever fixed but of course that is very false. They have spent more money on new parts for this machine than just giving us a new machine. It is very much advised you do NOT buy a maytag.

    Bought washer Maytag 14 months ago. Warranty for 12 months. How convenient that the whole computer board goes out just after warranty goes out. They will fix it for 500.00 dollars as much as a new cost. They are just rip offs like everything else you buy today. Cheaply made. Expensive to buy.

    My washer is HE. Always had issues with white smears on dark clothes. I use proper detergent, clean with Afresh every 30 washes. When it was three and half years started to smell. Followed recommended cleaning procedures including bleach. It's about 5 years old now and smells really bad with black gunk on top of outside of drum. No Maytag technician would come out to clean it. HE washers are bad as not enough water for cleaning clothes plus cold rinses do not get rid of bacteria so it gathers outside drum!

    Do not buy Maytag, Whirlpool products, they suck, and will not cover implied warranty. Stay clear of them at all cost. Their products have defects now and you will be very frustrated with them, customer service says they are sorry but do nothing to help except try to charge what a new appliance would cost to fix the problem.     I am very disappointed in the washer. Lid has broke twice in 6 years. Will cost half of what I paid for the washer to fix it. I will not buy another Maytag!!!! I can buy a new one for the cost of repairs. I am the only one that uses it, it has NOT BEEN ABUSED!! I have to push down on the corner of lid to get the lid to lock so it will wash. It's very inconvenient.

    I purchased a front-load Commercial Washer and dryer in March of 2023. I purchased Maytag Commercial because I thought it would be the best. It started feeling like my clothes weren't being washed and my fabric softener wouldn't drain in November 2023. I called Maytag to get someone out to fix it. It took me until January 2024 to get someone out. He replaced parts and it still did not work. He said it couldn't be fixed. Long story short it is May 2024 and I just got off the phone asking them to replace it and they told me they would try and find another technician to come out because the warranty is to fix it. Not replace. PLEASE DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.

April 30th, second Via visit, new tech arrives, discovers that the first tech did not order all parts needed - more parts ordered. May 10th - third Via visit, same tech as first time, tries to repair washer with replacement parts - claims parts not aligned properly, broken screw and motor now. More parts ordered, a commitment to return Morning of May 14. May 13: received text from Via with arrival time of 2p-5p on May 14. Not what we agreed to originally: attempts to change (noted below) failed. May 13th on phone with Maytag rep from SC, 32 mins, request new washer and change of time, no actionable result.

    May 13th, 1 hr plus with Via, attempted phone and email, no actionable result. Wrote Google review. May 14th: fourth Via tech visit, same guy as second visit, arrives approx 3p, unannounced (no "on my way" call). He assesses situation and determines a part is missing. Claims this part should never need replaced, calls tech from last visit who said it should be there. Nope, need to order another part. May 14th: call to Maytag - Whirlpool. Speak to agent from TN who offered to escalate but we got cut off before she could get my number. May 14th: call Maytag again, this time different agent from TN, Shawna. Claims no notes from earlier call this day or the previous day. So, Maytag reps don't document calls??!! Claims to document entirety of our conversation. Would you have confidence in any of these people?

    Bought a Maytag Commercial Technology washer and dry set 3 years ago. Washer began to have trouble with balancing a small load of laundry so we called a repair man. We were told it was not worth fixing and received a quote for 731 dollars to repair transmission housing and the stability rods. Washer has never been overloaded or abused. Warranty that is posted on sides says ten years but it only covers 6 actual parts on the washer.

    I always wanted Maytag appliances, they were top-of-the-line. Well 4 years ago I bought a Maytag washer, big mistake. It cleans the clothes, no problem with that. This thing makes the awfulest noise, It bounces across the floor. I open it to see if the load is unbalanced, it is not. Turn it back on and the same thing. I will never, never, never again buy a Maytag washer. I also have the dryer, no problems with the dryer, but that washer is terrible. A 4-year-old washer should not need any repairs, no I have not called a technician, nor will I. I will throw this one away as soon as I can buy something else. No more Maytag washers ever.

    We bought our top load washer 6 weeks ago. All of a sudden it stopped working. Flamingo Appliance came to repair it with no luck, he needed more parts. Another day or two. Came back and needed more parts, that was about 3 hours. Same day, he said we will need a harness, minimum 10 days. I spoke with Maytag and they could care less.     My new washer stopped working after one month. Called the number provided on Maytag's website. Unable to get anything from that number other than infinite hold music. With laundry piling up I had to find my own solution and called an appliance service company. They discovered loose cables in the machine and was able to get the machine running simply by seating the cables correctly. I was able to get someone from Maytag to respond when I contacted them through their Facebook page. They are refusing to cover the cost of the repair because the service company wasn't one of their "authorized" repair companies.

    I informed them that the only reason I went outside of their repair ecosystem was because of my inability to get Maytag to answer the phone. So the original problem was improper assembly of my washing machine by Maytag, and the use of an unauthorized repair company was directly the result of Maytag deliberately throwing obstacles in my way when I initially attempted to contact them. Maytag is weaseling out of their warranty obligations. Hardly the actions of an ethical company.

    Washer. Horrible. I bought this washer November 2022. After a little over a year it broke already. I am on a very limited budget. I bought the washer at Lowe's. My warranty was out. I called Maytag and told them how upset I was and that I was a breast cancer patient on a very limited budget. They offered nothing to help but sell me an extended warranty for over 375.00 for one year which I only bought because I thought it would help. They then set me up with a scheduled appliance repair place who had horrible ratings and I would of had to wait a week for them to come out. I found a much better appliance place with great ratings and very honest and fair pricing. They came out the next day, diagnosed the problem and had it fixed in 2 days. Thank God for them.

    I will never buy another Maytag again. I bought a piece of junk washer and when I called and explained my issue and hardship they did zero to help me. They just wanted to sell me that warranty which is now cancelled. Maytag used to be good but not anymore. Steer clear of them. They just want your money and do nothing to help you. Pathetic. I am grateful to the appliance company that helped me. They were fair prices and honest and they fixed my piece of junk washer. Thanks Maytag for not holding up to your reputation.

    I got a set of Maytag washer and dryer back in 2023. The washer has made started to make a very loud shifting/clacking noise during agitation and shifting throughout cycles. Had a warranty service repair tech come out to diagnose. While the tech agrees the noise is much louder than it should be, he was unable to find anything wrong with the motor and splutch. I called Whirlpool to express my concerns and that I have been a loyal whirlpool customer for many years and feel like they should take care of their customers. The whirlpool rep just kept on reiterating that because the tech said there is no problem with the machine there is nothing to fix. I have had old washers that are quieter than this washer. With that being said, they’ve lost me as a customer going forward.

    We purchased our first New Washer in 25 years on March 25th from Lowe's with a 5 year extended warranty. It is a Maytag top loader. It worked 5 days and broke. We called and were told to call Maytag service which we did and they schedule us April 17th for a repairman to come and fix it. The repair said it was a broken wiring harness and he ordered the part. We were told he would come back as soon as the part was received. After a few days I called to find out when our part would arrive and was told it was backorder and it might be up to 7 months before the part arrived.

    We immediately asked to have our washer replaced or start a return authorization and we were told since it had been over 2 weeks since we purchased the washer and that there was a part ordered. They WOULD NOT authorize a return or replacement until the service man deemed it not repairable. I was shocked and appalled that they could expect us to wait on a part for 7 months and not care that we could not do our wash. I called all of the customer care numbers I could find for Maytag and waited on hold for hours and then would be transferred and then disconnected. I started calling at 10am and finally by 4pm after speaking to many agents who had to transfer me and could not help my situation.

    I called Lowes and they said their hands were tied and maytag had to be the one to authorize the return. I finally reached a customer care professional at maytag named Zac who stayed on and found a part that he expedited to us which is suppose to be here maybe next week. Thank you Zac but we are horrified by the situation and we want a return because we also believe the wiring harness is so flimsy that it will break again easily after replacement. We are extremely upset by this whole experience! We feel we are being held hostage by Maytag with no hope.

    We have used Maytag products for over 30 years. We never had any problems. Washers, dryers, dishwashers etc. Even my parents used theirs for almost 40 years. However, the quality sure has gone down. We bought a new washing machine from Costco in 2019. After 4 years, a part rusted & broke. The 3rd party warranty company (Asurion) would only authorize a cheap fix. 6 months later, same thing, broken rusted part. That repair lasted 3 weeks. Only now the warranty expired. Costco doesn't care. Asurion doesn't care. I messaged Maytag Canada & was actually hopeful with their response. However, their final response was basically, it's not our problem. Also, 4 different responses from 4 different people. I guess when Whirlpool bought maytag, that was when they stopped caring. Save your money & your sanity. Buy a different brand. I hear GE makes pretty reliable stuff.

    Don’t buy a Maytag! We purchased a washer and dryer set less than a year ago and have had water level issues with the washer since have had it. It's was supposed to be their top of the line 5.3 cu. ft. Smart Capable Metallic Slate Top Load Washing Machine with Extra Power, ENERGY STAR. They had their 3rd party technician come out 5 times and it still doesn’t get some of the clothes wet but they say it’s working as designed. By saying this there is nothing else you can do.     Bought the washing machine in Oct -by Nov it won't start. Went back to Lowes for replacement. Got same machine again in Jan. By Feb broke again. Wait 6 weeks for parts/repair. By April broke again for the same reason as Nov and Feb. Machine won't start. Main board that controls all keeps breaking. Repair person said they do these calls all day.

    Call to get money back from Maytag. Over 2 1/2 hours on hold - talked to 6 different people. Only offer is the extend the warranty on this piece of crap. No money back. Didn't care that I was still paying on machine. Didn't care that I am now spending money at laundromat. Didn't care that out of 6 months the machine hasn't worked for 2 months. Didn't care that I have to wait another 6 weeks for more parts. Just kept saying we HOPE to fix it this time, over and over with "I'm sorry", but won't even think about any type of compensation. Machine is crap. Customer service - when you finally get someone - is crap. Company is crap. Please don't waste your money on a company that does not care!!!! I did by this machine - worse mistake I have made in a while!!!

    My mother purchased the Maytag washer in September 2019. It is now four years later and the glass lid on the washer is broken. The frame around the glass separated, so the glass slides out. I have never heard of a washing machine where the lid gets broken in four years time and they want me to pay over $600 to repair because the warranty wore out. That’s including the $152 they charge to send the repairman out to look at it. This is the first time we purchased Maytag and it will be the last.

    We purchased a Maytag Washing Machine from Home Depot online February 16th; they delivered & installed it; No extended warranty; in 3 years & 2 months the main mother board is done! $560 + Labor.. the funny this is the Extended warranty doesn’t cover mother board replacements!!     As a kid, I grew up with Maytag. They were the best next to the Sears Kenmore. I purchased the top-of-a-line Maytag five years ago. The balancing is off. I called Maytag for the customer service. I was told the average repairs is $450, I couldn’t believe the prices. They quoted me over the phone for a washing machine that is nearly 5 years old. I’ve never had a washing machine and this time in my life. This is by far the worst washing machine I’ve ever used in 50 years when I purchased the Maytag, I thought I was purchasing quality Washing machine, way overpriced to fix where you can actually purchase a brand new one for the price to fix this one and that’s insane. I’ll never purchase tag again.

    My 3.5 year old Maytag washer Model number MVWB765FW3 lid broke. It’s designed with an internal metal hinge that pushes on plastic each time it’s opened and closed. Eventually the metal hinge cracks through the plastic. I called customer service several times and each support person said it’s a very common issue with that model but they refuse to send out a good faith replacement and want around 400 dollars for a replacement lid. I was a Whirlpool person all my life but will be switching once my current appliances start to go.

    I purchased Maytag washer and dryer online from Lowe’s 11-13-23. Was delivered 11-15-23. Worked fine until about March. Now it doesn’t wash the laundry detergent out of my clothes good. Leaves big spots on my clothes. Called for repair and repairman said I was using too much laundry detergent. I told him I didn’t even fill it to the first line. He said that was too much. Said I only needed 3 Tablespoons. Well guess what? With 3 T it still spots my clothes. He told me to use Affresh to clean the washer. It’s only 6 months old but I cleaned it anyway. Didn’t make a bit of difference. So now I’m trying to set up another repair visit but can’t get thru. End up holding for over 45 minutes each time I call. Plus when they emailed me copy of invoice repair it was a lie. The guy didn’t do anything to it that he listed he did. I can’t afford to just toss this out and buy a new one and I can’t stay on hold for 45 minutes waiting to set up appointment. I have to work for a living.

    I wish I could have left less than one star, but then I wouldn't be able to post my review. I also wish I had found this site before I purchased my Maytag washer and dryer. They are hands down the worst washer and dryer I've e ever owned and quite possibly the worst I've ever used. I would prefer the laundromat to the noise, knocking, lack of cleanliness and the laughable drying function that lead to this o behemoth waste of money that sits in my laundry room. But like most people I can't afford to just throw these away and get other ones.

    The repair people in my area are unpleasant, not people you want in your house. So imagine how horrible it was to have to spend time with them, just to find out there's nothing wrong that my system is just crappy and that's all the capacity it will ever have. So I am currently looking for a side hustle so I can afford to buy a new washer and dryer; what I have now is like not having one at all. I tried to dry one load, small single girl load, I had to dry four separate times. I should have just tried one item at a time then maybe I'd have an outfit by week's end. I simply cannot think of enough bad things to say about this washer and dryer. So very disappointing! I had intended to replace all of my kitchen appliances with Maytag also, thank God I didn't! Just a horrible, disappointing experience. And Home Depot is no help with the situation.

    My wife & I have been talking about buying a new washer/dryer for quite a while, a few weeks ago (Presidents Week Sales) we finally did. They were delivered a week later. We live on the second floor of a condo (no elevator)…The delivery men were very nice. Anyway, the dryer was very, very loud…The delivery man…said, that there was something wrong with it (& there was a scratch on the side) so, we didn’t accept it. They had to go back down to the truck & retrieve our old dryer. Called Maytag…They had to SEARCH for a replacement, because they were low on inventory. Waited almost 2 weeks…Well, it came today…and it doesn’t work …Nothing, zero, dead! Down again they went…to retrieve our old dryer! Don’t know our next step, but…not happy with our purchase!! With all these complaints that I just read…these machines should be recalled & we should get our money back! Off to the store we bought them from!

    P.S. Not thrilled with “washer” either, lots of water noises & vibrations, beeps, water doesn't cover the clothes…My wife rewashed the cloths because detergent was still in the basin (& used 2 rinse & spin cycle)…and…she isn’t happy with “quick wash” cycle…It takes 50 minutes! Should have kept our old machines!!

    I deeply regret purchasing a Maytag washing machine. It was purchased in November 2023. In February, there was a minor power surge at my home. The washer would not turn on after the surge. I called service. They showed up and informed us they had to order a part and they would return the following week. We set up a time for them to come, took off work, and never heard from anyone. They told us they would be here the next week. They came out, and said another few parts needed to be ordered. I again, set up a time for them to come out for the repair the next week. I took off work, and never heard from anyone. I called only to find out the parts have been back ordered and will not arrive until March 21. (Was told that by the service line; Maytag is still researching to find if the part has been Ordered. So here I am, a month without a washing machine. This machine is only four months old and under warranty. I will never purchase another product from them. Horrible service!!!

    We bought a Pet Pro Maytag washer about a year ago. What I like:

    1) It has a large capacity that takes pet blankets and large comforters.

    2) It is quite good at removing pet hair, hopefully prolonging the life of your appliance. (Our dog's hair has destroyed 2 front load washing machines.)

    What I don't like:

    1) It's LOUD. At first I thought we'd bought a defective unit but after looking up promo videos realized they're all loud from the get go.

    2) The detergent / fabric softener dispenser is a brittle, poor quality piece of crap. It opens directly over the drum and is hard to fill without spilling fabric softener on the clothes (which causes discolouring of the clothes almost like bleaching). It has to be handled very gently or it will break! If you have any heavy handed family members using the machine, don't buy this one!

    3) The bleach dispenser is an open shallow depression in the front right corner and it's impossible to fill without splashing bleach down the side of the machine and then you have to wipe it out with a cloth to make sure you don't get undiluted bleach on your laundry.

    4) Did I mention it's really LOUD?!

    Saying it's noisy is the least of the problems with this machine. The way it fills with water is an absolute joke. It begins agitating and spinning before water ever enters. Then it doesn't even cover the fabrics with water until much later in the process. I leave mine on max fill all the time so my clothing gets wet thoroughly. Then it comes out in knots that I have to unravel before putting in the dryer. Sometimes the soap doesn't even come out and I have to re-wash. Now to the button start, I have arthritic hands and wrists, and these buttons require so much pressure and you have to hold it for so long to start the process that sometimes I have to call for help. It is the worst machine in every aspect of a washing machine. My Maytag Neptune's were the best ever. What happened? Save yourself some aggravation, don't bother with this machine.

    MAYTAG MW4505MWO/SER CC1207742. Suggest this product be removed from consumers. Have had it for a year in April, and it has just been grief. The "sensor" button to start will not allow one thing out of balance and at times takes 10x to load and start which is about 12 minutes to do one load; regardless if it's jeans or sheets. This machine is absolutely the worst I've ever owned and Lowe's doesn't care that they are selling a faulty product. Repairman came out to check and said, "You have to lay it perfectly as it's super sensitive to balance." This is ridiculous and suggest DO NOT BUY.

    I purchased a Maytag Washer and the lid is cracking on the bottom on both sides near the hinges. Of course, it is out of warranty. When you call the company they offer to sell you a new lid for over $400 plus installation. By the time I get done I could purchase a new washer.     I purchased this washing machine from Best Buy in May of 2020. We purchased a new home and acquired both a washer and dryer Maytag models. Within 6 months, we had a technician out for water coming out of the front door of the machine and an issue with the detergent drawer. In the second year, I noticed some water on the floor to the rear of the machine. I checked all the hoses and lines and did not see any water. A few months later it happened again. It happened sporadically and did not leave a lot of water, but a small puddle on both sides of my floor. I am thankful for the fact I have a floor drain over the washing machine, or the floor and 1st floor ceiling would be ruined.

    Finally, I found the water to be coming from the rear bottom where the back panel connects to the unit. It came to the point where we called out a technician because sick and tired of worrying about when it was going to happened and having to clean up the mess. The tech could not locate where it was coming from on the inside either (due to the random times it would happen). I was able to locate the leak after the machine made another mess. It was coming from the bottom rear of the tub in and odd place on the left bottom rear. There was standing water in the area I located the leak.

    Maytag's products should have an average life of 10 years. I didn't even get to 1 without issues. I am already in service calls to the the amount of what the machine's original cost, and now they want me to spend $159 an hour for 2 people to put a new tub, of course after another service call to see the leak themselves (costing me more money). Then I have to file a claim form where they will cover the tub. This will put me over the cost and probably cost me several hundred more dollars when I could go out and just buy another washing machine, NOT MAYTAG. Don't buy this model or anything Maytag, their products are garbage and they don't care how much its going to cost to fix. This machine had issues in the first 6 months, and didn't last 3.5 years.

    Never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool. Bought brand new washer and dryer. Dryer never worked from day one. When I call Maytag they refuse to replace it and tell me I have to deal with a repair guy. The repair guy has come 5 times and it still don’t work and Maytag doesn’t even care to exchange the dryer. They just keep telling me I have to deal with a repair guy. This brand-new dryer has been sitting in my garage for 6 months and when I call Maytag they are no help at all. Don’t even seem to care that my brand-new dryer doesn’t work and I have missed numerous hours at work meeting repair guys. Just keep telling me I have to meet the repair guy again and seem to be lying to me about things. Would never recommend Maytag or Whirlpool as they are the same company.

    I purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer 6 months ago. The washer has thrown error codes several times. The first time the washer could not be used and it took 3 visits for the repair person to replace the motherboard. The second time the errors occurred the code indicates again the motherboard is faulty. The repair company ordered the part, but it is delayed. Luckily this time I can still use the washer on a different setting. When I asked to have my call escalated, customer service told me my account was not eligible for escalation as this was only my 2nd issue. To me two repair instances in 6 months would indicate a bad machine, especially for the price. I would never buy a Maytag again based on this experience.

    Updated on 02/27/2024: Maytag apparently does not have service providers in all areas where they sell products. This includes warranty repairs. My 1 month old dryer took almost a month to get repaired. After countless hours and attempts to talk to a real person I was told that they had no service provider in my zip code. It took over a week for them to find a contractor to take the service call. 2 weeks later the dryer was repaired. How is a company able to sell products to customers in areas where there is no service provider? First and last Maytag product for me! Worst customer service ever. Only reason I gave them 1 star is because 0 wasn’t offered.

    Original Review: I bought brand new washer and dryer directly from Maytag. Almost from the start we were having trouble with the dryer. Contacted Maytag and was told to unplug for minute and plug back in. This actually worked but after doing this 4-5 times since new (dryer is less than 2 months old) I thought it was time for service call. Went online to schedule service. Entered all info and when clicked on schedule appointment it said no appointments available for zip code entered.? Called service on phone and went through the whole process again.

    First part was automated and then I was sent to a person. She had me go through the whole thing again and then put me on hold. She came back and told me Maytag does not provide service to my zip code.? She said she would have to reach out to service providers outside my area to see if they would be interested in taking my service call and it will take approximately 3 days for someone to get back to me. Why is Maytag even allowed to sell products to people in zip codes they don’t have service providers for? I have never heard of a company that does not service customers in certain zip codes.

    Bought a brand new Maytag washer $700, it was delivered on 10/30/2023. In less than 90 days the washer stopped working. Early December we contacted the box store we purchased it from and was told we needed to reach out to Maytag directly. We did. They referred to a local service company to execute their warranty services. They sent a technician out multiple times and he completes a diagnostic then orders parts, comes back replaces the parts and when it still doesn't work they have to come back out for a new diagnostic order new parts etc, cycle continues. Now we are told the motherboard needs to be replaced but the parts are on back order and estimated time frame of Feb. 13.

    In the meantime, we have a nonworking new washer and are accumulating additional costs at a coin Laundromat, missed work to coordinate with technicians, and Maytag won't do anything to help. They told me that it takes time and until they replace all possible parts and repairs they will not consider a replacement appliance until it is undoubtedly unfixable. In the meantime the inconveniences are our problem.

    If the motherboard parts are not available until Feb 13 plus the wait for technician to come out and make the repair, we will be looking at over 3 months without a working washing machine. One has an expectation that when they purchase a product that the product will work and should last for the expected life span, especially at the amount of money spent. I am greatly disappointed in this company and really feel like we have been sold a defunct product and the company is not willing to help or do anything to make it right. I will not be purchasing a Maytag product or Whirlpool since they are the same company.

    Horrible experience all around. Nobody cares and wait on hold for ever. I am currently on hold with Maytag and the store I bought the Maytag dryer from at the same time. Got 2 phones going. So far Maytag on hold for 40 mins. I have made multiple calls. The dryer repair men "fixed" the dryer after 1 month of waiting and after the first load it died. 6 months old. I have been without a dryer for 2 months. The repair company is horrible as well. Maytag support is just as bad. $1400.00 for my dryer, family of 6, it's chaos.

    Bought 2020. Bought extended warranty ends 2024. Maytag will not acknowledge the extended warranty. I’ve called and called 3 out of 5 times they have lied to me. I do have warranty then I don’t. I have paid over $600 for repairs that they recommend the company to use. and it still doesn’t work. I video taped the still broken machine.     Purchased a new Maytag top loader from Home Depot. The first load a screeching started during the agitation while washing. Progressively got louder. So loud can not be in the room and it can be heard outside. Called Maytag immediately since Home Depot does not have anything to do with appliances once sold. Maytag said they would send someone out the next day. The company they use only comes out 1 day a week to this area so I waited over a week.

    Tech came out, changed some parts, apparently all plastic and made in China, well it worked on just water in machine before he left. I then put in not a large load and started it. Exact same unbearable screech is there during the wash portion. Maytag used to be dependable. Now I find out others say they are noisy and Maytag even warns about it. I expected this washer to last longer than the first wash. Now going to be going into 3 weeks. Spend your money elsewhere. Maytag no longer the dependable, reliable product of past.

    I purchased a Maytag top load washer 3 of 22 and used it twice and the drum locked up. I called Maytag warranty. They said they wouldn't be able to come out and for like 7 days. I just bought this thing from Lowe's and it's already broke. So I called Lowe's and they agreed to swap out the washers. Got another new washer installed and it lasted for about less than 2 years and now my washer is broke down again. I did get an extended warranty because the damn thing is out of warranty now. They came out and looked at it and said the water pump and the board is all fried. Really!

    I have friends who have Maytags that are like 10 to 12 years and they're still running now. I think Maytag is making these to make sure you throw these washing machines away after 2 years so you have to buy a new one. So disappointed in Maytag. I will not be buying anything that's made my Maytag again and will start looking at reviews on some of the others brands. Seems like nowadays every time I buy something new it breaks down in less than a year.

    Baught a Maytag washer 4 years ago. Within the first year had a tech out to replace the drum gears..next the lid broke. They wanted $250 for a new lid..today Nov 17/23. Now the control board is out..and to get a tech to come out it will be $150 then the part for control board will be close to $300 so now at $400. We are now $300 away from just buying a new washer..it's sad we spend $700 on the washer new 4 years ago. Now it's junk..

    I bought a Maytag washer, it's been pure piece of crap, it worked for a short time and then started not walking but running across the laundry room, even moved the dryer as well. Everything about it is screwed up. Spend money trying to fix it, forget it, it's all a waste of money, however 13 years ago I bought one. It was great but three years ago I bought this piece of crap.     I have a Maytag Top load washing machine. Had it for 2.5 years. There are only 2 people living in my house so the usage is very light. The unit stopped working, had the repairman out who told us the main computer board failed and would need to be replaced. The price of the computer board with labor would cost more than to buy a new washing machine. This washing machine is a piece of junk. I will never buy Maytag again.

    I bought a Maytag washer model #MVWB766FW1, because of the big sign on the washer door, 10 year limited warranty, I also boughy an extended warranty for 5 years (not being told that warranty starts the day it was delivered, not after the factory warranty ran out), so 5 years 14 days after purchase, the lid by the hinges broke, to me it was poor design, anyone knows when you drill holes in plastic it causes stress failure, called Maytag because it said in their description parts covered if anything that makes the item not work, with the new washers the door locks when in use, doesn't work if door not fitting properly.

    They told me the only thing covered is drive motor, wash basket, dryer drum, called the dealer to see about purchasing a new door, with parts, labor, service call it was over $400, called Maytag. Part was over $250 for door, took my money and bought a new washer that is not Maytag, or one of its other brands, did not know all the good brands that Maytag purchased which now has low ratings (had one brand that I had over 22 years that Maytag purchased which low grade according to the salesman), this is my opinion, but I will not purchase anything from Maytag again.

    We purchased new Maytag Washer and Dryer units in 2020 and have had nothing but issues with the products. We have paid for service and repair countless times over the last 3 years. Both the washer and dryer's computer boards just went bad and need to be replace - the amount for parts and repair is $1,000. I contacted Maytag to see if they would assist in purchasing parts because this is unacceptable for units that are less than 3 years old. They would not assist in the cost. I would never purchase a Maytag or Whirlpool unit again. I would advise anyone I know to never buy a Whirlpool product. They are terrible.

    I have bought my mama a brand new one last year and I did not realize how bad they were so I got me one. Also I had bought two of these and they are both the same. Does not put hardly any water in the washer. You can't wash more than a couple of pieces at the time. The only way to wash in hot water is to completely turn your Fossett off of cold, and then it only let you have a tiny bit a hot water, and then it won't let you back in to put more water in the ranks in cycle at the lead locks. This is the sorriest washing machine I have ever seen in my life. They need to go back to making washers like they used to.

    We don't need someone to tell us how to save money and save water. We don't want to save water. We want to use enough water to clean our clothes and we don't want the leads to lock so we can't add more water or see how they are washing. I tried to pause it and open it and then it would not let me do anything it kept trying to redo the whole cycle all over again, so it won't let me start over. I have to finish the cycle even though I don't want to if he was the stand and dishwashing machine it would barely cover your feet with water. I have to take buckets and fill it up to put enough water to wash my clothes. I'm very angry.

    The Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer is the worst purchase I have ever done!!!! DON’T buy these products. It cost you more money to run and still don’t clean your clothes. The dryer doesn’t dry either. It takes me over 3 hours to dry. I have to babysit the towels and other clothes because they don’t tumble right and get bunched up.     Do not purchase a Maytag. Their warranty is trash, customer service is ridiculously challenging to get a hold of, and the waiting period to get something repaired is insanity. I have never had such a bad experience with any appliance. Whenever my 2k Maytag washer and dryer finally reaches its destination, I will never purchase another one. I will either go with Amana or Samsung. This company has gone downhill. It use to be one of the best, long lasting appliances to purchase. All in all, I am severely disappointed in this company. It started making a loud noise, then the water stopped draining out of the clothes, and now when you press start it jumps to the end of cycle without doing anything, the lock mechanism does not lock the door. We had it looked at and the technician said it would cost too much to fix and recommended we would be better with f buying a new machine. Who can afford to buy a new machine after 2 years??     Upon looking for appliances while building my new home, I literally called the companies to ask about the warranties, I was told by Maytag they had a full 10 yr warranty, now little into 7 yrs my ccu on my Maytag dryer has failed, I called Maytag and said the warranty only covers the drum, motor and parts,,, well the ccu is a part considering it's the brains of the unit, however Maytag said I would have to purchase the ccu for 462 dollars,,, not happening I will purchase a completely new set from another mfg, and I can assure you it will be nothing under the Maytag labels, kitchen aid, whirlpool, and some others, I'd strongly suggest staying away from their products as they are deceptive and basically flat out liars concerning their products,,,, btw on the front of each unit they have stickers that states 10yr warranty,,,, lying pricks.     I have owned Maytag washers and dryers for almost 50 years. I ordered this washer on September 2 with a promise of delivery Sept 8, then it confirmed at Sept 19, on Sept 18 I was notified that I again had to set up delivery. After hours on the telephone with the delivery company and Maytag, a "lead" promised me a replacement washer with an "expedited" delivery. She then emailed me a delivery date of 9/25 which is exactly what I was able to get on their website without all of the calls and promise of an expedited delivery. I won't go into the details and trouble I had without a washer for almost three weeks and then making a trip to this house to be there for a delivery that never was to materialize. I then ordered a washer from the local Lowe's and bought a competing LG Brand with much better reviews that was delivered the next day.

    I have a 2 yr old Maytag washing machine that has been broken for 6 weeks. I was instructed to use their authorized repair service, which I did. They replaced several parts & left. The washing machine was still doing the exact same thing It was prior to their “repair” and now smells like It is burning. Maytag said I had to use the same repair service or It would void my warranty on all the parts they replaced. They offered to reimburse my the $160 service fee. When they came back out, they said all they could do would be to replace the exact same parts they already replaced. At this point we had been without a working machine for a month.     Updated on 10/8/2023: Continuing in my efforts to make the best of a poor purchase, I have read and re-read the owner's manual for the washer (previously noted). I have followed ALL manufacturer's suggestions. In an effort to 'problem solve,' yet again, I called my repairman's site to 1) just see if he was in my area, to see specifically what I was up against trying to wash a bulky load actually set on 'bulky' (two medium rubber-backed bath mats, two small bathmats, and two standard bath towels hoping to balance the load, as OFF BALANCE happens continually) and 2) ascertain if I was the one with a problem. Of NOTE: repairman has determined machine is balanced.

    I was on my own. Started load at 11 a.m. Load ready, finally, for dryer at 3:15 p.m. First time around, I cancelled the cycle -- bath mats 1/2 wet, insufficient water for load. Tried again, problem-solving every which/way the machine would let me. Called neighbor for suggestions as she is as frustrated with her Maytag washer -- somehow, she is able to add large stockpot(s) of water to hers. The one time I tried that, prior to its locking the lid, it subsequently drained the machine. I surmise her Maytag must be just a little older than mine. Long story s-h-o-r-t: some (4) hours later, end cycle chimes.

    My point is, what good is an HE washer that takes this amount of time to get the job done? Or because there is insufficient water for the load, doesn't get the load clean? And with too little water, takes the color out of items using HE detergent? Don't even get me started on trying to wash a load of king-sized sheets and bedding. All I own are king-sized items, so the washer is of very little value to me. Have you missed that I despise this washer? It can't die soon enough. There is NO Maytag customer number I can find to ask for input, and emails sent to the address they provide, have gone unanswered. Some customer service, to boot.

    Original review: Bought a new Maytag Washer Model MVW7232HW and Maytag Dryer Model MED7230HW on 12/23/2021 from Lowe's. Spent $849 on each appliance. I have regretted it ever since the pair was delivered to the house. My issues are the same as all others posted. I cannot wait for the (2) to die, and with the issues I am seeing, I hope it won't be long.

    Not enough water to wash a load effectively. I have pulled out items completely dry at the end of the complete cycle. Tried numerous ways to try to out-think the stupid machine. Neighbor says she adds buckets of water. Most frequent is Load Balancing. Have read Manual completely -- who would think the suggested wash for a set of sheets would be 'bulky items?' And bulky items actually cause the same message -- try washing 2-3 bath mats, or 2-3 jackets. Loads do not even 'smell' clean.

    Dryer gets 'stuck' after opening door to remove an item. Push start to no avail. Does not even recognize 'end cycle' to turn the dryer off. I bought the pair on the advice of my repairman when my GE units died. Sort of 'died.' To repair the washer would cost as much as new. So, against my better judgment, I went with Maytag. My dislike of Maytag washers and dryers goes back to the 1970s. My parents had Maytag. When my grandparents died, my father gave me his parents' set. I was not impressed with anything about any of them except they just would not quit. Unhappy with the filter system and spin cycles then. Replaced my inherited set with Whirlpool in the 1980s that out-performed both -- Whirlpool in a beach house rented-out performed UNbelivably under those conditions, so I was s-o-l-d. Loved mine.

    Fast forward to top-of-the-line GE purchased from a neighbor who was moving. Gifted my Whirlpool to another family with a beach house. So, how many years later I go with my repairman's recommendation. What good is an appliance if all you hope for, is that the thing dies, so you can replace it? NO response, ever, from Maytag. Two service calls, to-date, and am being told, "Oh, this is what happens." NOT dependable, NO customer service.

    I purchased a Maytag Washer in December of 2021. I called Maytag to set up a service appointment because my washer stopped working (September 2023). The washer is 1 1/2 years old!!! The technician told me it was going to cost $788.00 to fix it because 4 of the 7 parts needed to fix it are not covered by the warranty. When I reached back out to Maytag to see if they could at least cover the parts they said there is nothing they could do. A washing machine should last more than 1 1/2 years!! DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG!!! The only parts they cover are the parts that usually do not break. Customer Service has ZERO care for their customers!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

    Unfortunately I can see in reading so many 1 star reviews for this model that our experience is not unique. We bought our Maytag MVW7232HW top load washer in Dec 2020 after extensive research, and thought that we were investing in a quality washer that would serve our small family for years to come. The Maytag brand used to stand for quality, and even the website claims that the average Maytag washer lasts for 10-11 years. The reality is a fraction of that. After 2.5 years of light use, the major mechanical components have already failed. During a wash, we heard a loud crack, followed by rattling, and then the washer failed to be able to complete a cycle - we would get stuck in a 'sensing' mode.

    The Maytag technician diagnosed a failed gearcase, slider and clutch, and possibly a fried control panel (but we won't know until we've replaced the mechanical parts). Nearly $700 in parts and labor. He advised calling Maytag to see if they would cover any of the repairs, but they would not cover a single one, since "those particular parts are out of the 1 year warranty." The "10 year limited parts warranty" so heavily touted on the front of our washer only applies to the motor and basket - two parts that according to the technician, rarely fail.

    Even more insulting than the fact that Maytag would not offer any concessions on the replacement parts or labor, they instead offered me a "15% off loyalty discount" so that I could send our still fairly new washer to a landfill, and buy a new Maytag with the hopes that it would last more than 2.5 years. Please protect yourself and buy something other than a Maytag or Whirlpool. So sad to see such a strong American brand lose such esteem with poor quality parts and assembly. My grandmother had a Maytag washer for over 30 years. :(

    I bought Maytag washer and dryer November 2022. I chose Maytag due to their alleged dependability. I am a single woman that doesn't know crap about machinery. Felt assured in my selection. However, when my washing machine broke down 2 months after purchase I could not get a human being to answer their customer service line. Disconnected me twice and after being on hold for 15 min I gave up. Their online system to schedule service wouldn't allow me to make an appointment. Turns out after registering my appliance Maytag took over 2 months to recognize my model and serial numbers. I ended up paying $170 to have it fixed.

    Now my washing machine is broken again. Appliance co that does warranty work for Maytag claims my warranty ended Aug 23. I have a Lowe's receipt that states I purchased them on Nov 20 as I stated in my registration. So now I have to pay $180 to fix my piece of junk of a washing machine. Why doesn't Maytag just say we offer zero warranty?? Would have saved me a lot of hassle. If I have to pay for one more repair I'm shoving it down my stairs and calling a garbage removal pick up. I guess Maytag's commercial is spot on. Repair guy just sitting around doing nothing, drinking coffee and not answering the phone. What a ** company. RUN. BUY GE. BUY GE. They are supposedly on the top 7 best appliances. Learn from my mistake.

    Not happy! Finally got a new machine that's larger, and no longer with a machine that doesn't have enough water to wash and rinse the clothes. That was a Maytag too. We just got this machine, tall top loader. Washes better than the last one, since it adds more water, but the start button doesn't work right. I had to try to start the machine for almost an hour with repeated efforts to push the 2 buttons and make the machine start the wash process. The lights come on, when I press on, but then the sensor continues to blink and never start the process. Finally after an hour of multiple tries (and not changing anything about how I was starting it) it suddenly worked. I also unplugged it and plugged it back in to see if it needed resetting. That didn't help either. When I was growing up, washing machines actually worked. What's the deal????

    Score=0!! We’ve had nothing but issues with our washer. The motor was fried after having it for a month. It was replaced with a brand new unit - aka another piece of garbage. Our second washer has had a broken detergent drawer and a cracked lid twice. We’ve spent over 7+hrs on the phone with customer service. We continue to get the runaround or told there’s nothing they can do - except offer me a coupon code to buy a new washer (when mine is only 3 years old). They’re unwilling to help & acknowledge that the left hinge on the lid is defective. The plastic cracks in the same spot near the left hinge and eventually shatters, making the washer unusable bc it will not lock.

    The lid has ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. However, it broke again after just over 1yr, so it’s not covered under the “warranty”. I’ve never been more disappointed with washer or a company. They make their product well enough to last through the 1 year warranty. Then everything breaks. I will NEVER EVER buy another Maytag or Whirlpool product again!! **AVOID Maytag!!**

    If you’re looking to buy a new washer and dryer don’t go with Maytag. Our last one lasted over 10 years, but they don’t make them like they used to. We had it for less than a year and the washer quit agitating. We have the top load, with an agitator. Our technician replaced the electronic board saying that might be the problem, but after a few loads it quit again. Our technician (who is through a different company) has been great, but when I’ve contacted Maytag to get their help they were less than helpful and didn’t seem to care. Our technician seems to get it to work every time he’s out, but after a few loads it quits again.

    Bought my washer for $750 and only had it for a little over a year. Had a two year warranty. Called the repair company. They issued to come diagnose the problem. It's cost me $145 for 5 minutes of his time, just to tell me what went out and it wasn't under warranty. So he told me to call customer service. Called customer service and got nowhere fast. So now I'm out around $900 and have to buy another washer. What ever happened to the customer is always right! Save your hard-earned money and stay clear of Maytag. Bad product/customer service!!

    Well my Maytag Top Load Washer is less than three years old and has a bad control board already... How does that even happen? There was no power surge, no blown fuse etc. A $460.00 repair for a $760.00 washing machine which I bought new in 2020. First Clue not to buy this brand was that the first one I bought came to me all damaged. This is the second service call on this piece of junk in two years, thankfully the first one was covered under warranty after one month of owning the thing.

    So here it's the first week of school and my washing machine is unusable as they had to order the part. Model # is MVWC565FW2. There has been so many problems with this model they should just stop making them and honestly Made in USA means nothing to me anymore and with junk like this the people in that plant do not deserve to be employed. I should've stuck with the Made in Korea brands...they have no problems in the first several years.

    My smart top load washer with extra power button - 5.3 cu. Ft. 4 is junk... Has ever worked correctly. I've called, I've emailed and now writing a review... 2" Of water is not enough to wash clothes. The agitator doesn't even turn but 1/16 of an inch. It also says rinsing when it's spinning... Maytag... This was very expensive. Here is a video.
