Purchased a Maytag HE Pet Pro Large Capacity Top Load Washer MVW 6500MBK1, CE2001300 in June 2025 directly from Maytag. From the get go I noticed it wasn't filling completely with water, even when using the deep fill option. If you don't use that, some of the clothes don't even get wet! The agitator starts working before the washer is full, which abrades the fabric causing pilling and excessive lint. Items go into the washer lint free and come out covered in lint! You can see in the slop sink filter the amount of lint produced.
The spin cycle also seems extreme and the clothes come out in a tight tangled up mess, so in addition to lint, I also have wrinkles that don't come out in the dryer. I have had under warranty "service" come out twice now and have documented the problem but stated in the end the "unit is working as designed" and Maytag will do nothing. Designed to destroy your clothing! They claim the warranty is for service only and since it's not a repairable part nothing can be done. I also asked Maytag if the had excessive quality calls for this issue or recalls. The answer was no. Clearly that's not the case. Unfortunately I did not read reviews before I purchased. I relied on Maytag's reputation, a big mistake. So I'm out about $800 for a washer I will have to replace. Not Happy!!!

About two months ago my Maytag washer dropped a bolt from the bottom of the washing machine of which I put back in place hand tight. It was also showing codes F7E4, F6E3, F7E3. Tried to call customer service (not easy to get ahold of anyone). Scheduled a tech (Maytag expert). After he stripped the bolt and then broke it he said he couldn’t fix it. Said he didn’t know how or why it was throwing those codes. So I have a 1 year old washer that will not work. Was told to buy a new one even though it’s advertised as a 10 year warranty. Been buying Maytag for 30 years or so. 3 sets of machines now. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with this company. Maybe a one off but not sure I’ll gamble that again.

I have purchased 2 from Lowe's. 1 in Dec. Of 2023 and the other 2024. Have had door lock problems, rocking when loaded or empty, sensors, not emptying, not filling, and now the newest one needs a control board at a cost of $300 +. No warranty received for either one. So I guess you can say I'm more than reluctant to own another Maytag. Extremely disappointed, they used to be the best for residential.

Maytag washer MVW4505MW1 lid lock broke at just under two years old Average type use. Lid lock broke. Looked at it. Very inexpensive plastic parts at lid. Called Whirlpool. Offered to service it for $360. Machine cost approximately $800. New part on Amazon cost $60. Multiple YouTube videos on how to replace. Will never buy Whirlpool/Maytag again. Old commercial of repairman having nothing to do rings true today because who in right mind pays almost 50% for a simple repair that should have never happened. Wake up, a 10-15 year purchase is not “washer as service” contract. Poor management. Don’t buy the products and definitely sell the stock if you own it.

Maytag has been my go to when we need to buy a new appliance. NO MORE. Their Maytag washing machine does not put enough water in the tub to get the clothes wet. I have had to carry water in a 5 gallon bucket from my kitchen to add to the tub to cover my clothes. This is absolutely unacceptable. After 3 years of my bucket brigade, I purchased a Speed Queen (love it). I have tried to sell my Maytag but only received messages about how much other people hate their Maytag because their clothes are dry after the wash cycle! There should be a class action lawsuit! Worst machine I have owned in my 57 year marriage. Money thrown away.

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer in Dec of 2024. In March of 2026 the electronic board went out and to repair it the cost is $400. I called customer service and was told that they couldn’t do anything for me but I could purchase another warranty for $360. We only used the washer 3 months out of the year because we are seasonal residents so actually the washer is about 6 months old! Never again will I buy any Maytag products. Check out the warranty before you purchase any appliances.

We purchased what we believed to be excellent quality Maytag washer and dryer which essentially cost us a couple thousand dollars based on sales recommendations two and a half years ago. Our washer started to make this horrible sound during spin cycles. Decided to call Appliance center tech to look at it. He told us the "Gear case or transmission" was shot and we would probably be better off getting a new washer since our two and a half year old washer warranty expired after two years! Wow how disappointing! They would not back the product or work with us to get another one. I will NEVER purchase a MAYTAG product again. We are in our 50s and it is just the two of us. Steer clear folks.

I wish I had researched Maytag. I've only had this washer about 3 years. I bought it for the large tub to do large loads. Mistake, it won't spin until I re-adjust load couple of times. It makes a very loud noise when spinning. I will NEVER buy a Maytag product again. Worst washing machine I've ever owned. Last big load it tried spinning 8 times and would not spin til I pulled clothes all apart and spread out more balanced. Had to do that twice before it would spin, and still didn't get the water out good.

I’ve been a loyal Maytag customer for years, which makes this experience with their service plan especially disappointing. My washing machine (purchased in 2018) recently started having issues, so I contacted Maytag to ask whether it was worth repairing. Their representative recommended signing up for a monthly extended service plan and explained that if the technician came out on the first visit and the machine couldn’t be repaired, they would refund the plan and cancel it. If it required multiple visits and still couldn’t be repaired, they said they would cover the replacement cost.
A repair company came out shortly after. The technician was here for about 15 minutes, looked at the machine, and said it needed several parts that would take 7–10 days to arrive. He also commented that the washer was getting old and that I had probably gotten my money’s worth out of it. Given the cost and wait time, we decided it made more sense to cancel the plan and purchase a new washer — which we planned to buy from Maytag again.
However, when I called to cancel the service plan, I discovered that Maytag was charging me more for the service call than the repair company would have charged had I contacted them directly. In other words, the “service plan” ended up costing me more than simply calling a local repair technician myself. After being a loyal Maytag customer for many years, this felt misleading and frustrating. I expected better transparency and customer care from a brand I’ve trusted for so long.

Did not expect for Maytag to be unprofessional, send over a technician without them telling me that my warranty had expired. The technician had to tell me after he got done because Maytag never told me in the beggining or I wouldn't even have them come out. Their products are not good quality at all and only have the washer and dryer for 2 years. If anyone wants something good and Professional just buy an LG. They'll last you more than 2 years.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a defective Maytag washer unit purchased from Home Depot in September 27th 2025. Make: Maytag - Model #: MHW5630MBK0 - Serial#: CE3500360. The appliance was paid for in full and delivered new. Due to a move, we opened and began using the machine in December 2025.
From the very first use, the washer began making an extremely loud and abnormal noise. We immediately contacted Maytag for service. A Maytag technician from Wind Factory Service located in Hicksville, NY inspected the unit and advised us that a major internal part was defective and stated that this “should never happen in a new machine.” The technician further indicated that significant internal damage appeared to be present and MAYTAG should replace the unit.
Despite this acknowledgment, Maytag has continued to delay resolution, stating they are waiting on parts and attempting additional repairs. As of now, it is February 2026, and we still cannot use the machine due to the excessive noise and risk of further damage. We have been left without a functioning washing machine for weeks.
The last contact with The Maytag representative, we were advised to contact Home Depot for a replacement unit since they sold the unit, because Maytag policy is only to repair the unit. Home Depot acknowledged that it is most likely a defective unit but refused to take responsibility, directing us back to the manufacturer - Maytag. Both parties are effectively refusing to stand behind a brand-new product that was clearly defective from first use. This situation is unacceptable. A new appliance should not require major repairs immediately upon first use, nor should consumers be left without a working essential appliance for an extended period after full payment.
At this point, we are requesting one of the following:• A full replacement with a new, fully functional unit, or
• A full refund of the purchase price
We have acted in good faith and followed all required procedures and we have not heard back from Maytag to check in or the Wind Factory Service with any update regards to where stand with the parts. Thank you for your attention and please find a resolution to this major issue.

My wife and I purchased a brand new Maytag front load washer and dryer. The models are MHW8630HC and MED8630HC. The washer went out after 4 loads. The motherboard fried out completely. The dryer lasted one more load and the door wouldn't close. The sales person told us that they build these appliances to only last 8 or so years. I would be thrilled if these two appliance would have lasted that long instead of less than 8 loads. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG!

I need a rating available lower than 1 star! DO NOT BUY MAYTAG if you expect any kind of customer service. We have a 4 week old $950 washing machine that broke. It took Maytag a week and a half to get a service person out. He came yesterday and said he has to order a part, which is out of stock. He has no idea how long it could take... possibly a month or more. Maytag customer service reps do not care about this one bit and offer no solution. A 4 week old machine that needs a new control board should be replaced in my opinion. I understand sometimes things are just faulty, but the way this is being handled is unacceptable. What a nightmare. I hope to save other people from this frustration. What do they expect people to do?

LESS THAN 3 years ago, I purchased a Maytag top load washer MN: MVW7232HW1 ($685) They are supposed to be extremely reliable with a "10 year" warranty. Don't believe everything you hear/see. The unit worked GREAT, for 6 months. The center screw on the motor drive system managed to back itself completely out and fell on the floor. It took a few hours to figure out why the unit would stay balanced and kept erroring out. I installed the screw with blue Loctite ($7) to remedy the issue. 1 year later, the main seal on the basin completely let go. Water was all over the floor and leaking through my floor.
Called Maytag and it wasn't a "warrantable" repair. The seal was integrated to the "transmission". Purchased and installed the part myself ($365). Fast forward 5 days ago (unit is now 2.5 years old) and the electronic water valve assembly has failed ($85). I have ordered and will install yet again another part. If you are keeping tally, I purchased the unit for $684 NEW. Have since installed $492 dollars in parts MYSELF and the unit is not yet 3 years old. I would not recommend this product (or its Whirlpool equivalent) to anyone! Buyer Beware! 1 of 5 starts (ONLY because most rating systems don't allow for a 0).

If I would have known or seen the reviews before purchasing the washing machine I'd never have spent any money. I thought Maytag had a good name but they do not! They are terrible. I bought a washing machine that's only 3 years old. The top is glass. It flew off within 8 months of purchase. Now I have to do every load with tape over the top of it. I called them they said "oh we can gladly help you with a 10% off coupon to getting a new washing machine." No. I'm not okay with that!.
I really could kick myself for not reading the reviews before purchasing. That is something I have learned after buying this terrible faulty washing machine. I will always look at reviews before I purchase another thing. If it had a zero star I would have picked zero because that is giving them too much credibility by pushing one. I don't like that. I don't like even being able to give them a one star. Please do yourself a favor. Do not purchase from this brand. You will be telling yourself why did I do this like me. I guarantee you will. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Use a different brand. Do your research.

Bought a new front loading Maytag “Commercial Technology” washer and dryer less than 3 years ago. I bought this Maytag washer in October 2024 specifically for my 86-year-old mother-in-law. I chose it because it looked simple, was reasonably priced (around $509), and she would only use it occasionally for light loads. Less than a year and a half later, it’s already broken. We had to call an authorized Maytag repair service, which charged $109 just to diagnose the problem: the suspension system is shot. The repair quote? Another $250–$300 on top of the diagnostic fee. That means spending nearly $400 to fix a machine that originally cost $509. At that point, it’s almost cheaper (and certainly wiser) to replace it entirely. I contacted Maytag customer service directly to explain the situation and ask for some reasonable help—after all, this is a major failure on a relatively new appliance used very lightly. Their “best” offer? 20% off a brand-new washer. Seriously?
Why on earth would I want to buy another Maytag after this experience? They essentially told me to throw good money after bad with zero goodwill or accountability for a product that failed so prematurely. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. This feels like planned obsolescence at its worst. I cannot recommend this washer—or apparently anything from Maytag—to anyone looking for reliability, especially for elderly users or light-duty needs. Save your money and look elsewhere.

After 9 months of owning a brand-new Maytag washer, it’s needed FOUR warranty repairs. It still makes a loud, house shaking noise at the start of the spin cycle, even after 4 service calls to replace 2 drums, a frame and shocks. Asked for a replacement and was told they can’t consider it because the tech didn’t take a video. Now we’re waiting for another visit just to record proof. Extremely disappointing product and the worst customer service we’ve experienced ever, there's no way to escalate. We won’t be buying Maytag again!

This is hands down the worst purchase I’ve made in years. The PetPro washer failed after only five months due to a control board failure — completely unacceptable for a major appliance that’s barely broken in. It gets worse. I waited two weeks for a scheduled service appointment, only to be told the technician “couldn’t find my house.” No call. No warning. Just a missed appointment. Now I’m being forced to wait another two weeks for service. So I’m left without a working washer for nearly a month because of both a defective product and outright incompetence. This level of quality and customer service is appalling. A washer should not fail this quickly, and customers should not be punished with endless delays and excuses when it does. This entire experience has been 100% unsatisfactory, and I would strongly warn anyone considering this product to look elsewhere.

Please whatever you do, do not buy the Maytag dryer Model #MED5430MW0 if you aren't drying clothes for a large family. I am a single person who needs to dry a few shirts periodically. I actually can't dry a few shirts in this dryer because they caught up on the two large baffles (there are two large baffles and one short) in the dryer and just go round and round sitting wet on the baffles. I called Maytag customer service to possibly replace the two large baffles with two shorter ones, but they said that is how the dryer is designed and there is nothing they can do. Unless you always dry a large load, your cotton shirts will be unwearable due to the design of this dryer and the large baffles. I paid $800 for this dryer alone and will have to trash it. The Maytag washer I also purchased works fine. My mother always had Maytag washers and dryers. She loved them. I guess times have changed and "buyer beware!"
