My wife and I bought a new Maytag washer on 9/21/2008. Since the time we bought it, it has gone through 2 controllers; and just yesterday, 7/17/2009, it went out once more. Is there no end to this? What happens when the warranty is done? We paid around $600.00 for this washer, thinking we were buying the top brand to ensure no problems. But man, were we wrong! I cannot believe the number of problems Maytag is having. One thing is for sure, if I have to eat this and buy another washer, it sure won't be a Maytag. And I also will do all I can to spread the word - Maytag is crap!

I purchased a Maytag Top Load Washer in 2007 from PC Richards. It is now June 2009 and I was told by a PSEG technician that the problem was the transmission. I called Maytag and was told by them the warranty was only for 1 year for my model, MAV2755AW. Oh well, I guess this is how Maytag stands behind its products, 2 years and the transmission blows. How can a company do this to consumers who trust in their brand! Disgusted w/ Maytag.

After having my new Maytag washer delivered and trying out one small load, I found that the instruction book failed to list the problems associated with an auto-water level sensing feature. The machine will not fill with water or operate if the lid is opened. Therefore, if you want to add one more item to the existing load during the initial fill, the water level automatically fills to the maximum, even if only two small items are in the load. How can this be considered and energy star appliance when the automatic water conservation feature is inadequate?
Once the washer is delivered into your home and hooked up to the faucets, it becomes a used appliance, even though it has never been used. It can then not be returned or exchanged, even though at the time of purchase, the feature's flaws were not explained or even mentioned to me. I now have a brand new "used" washer that uses twice as much water as a non-energy efficient model.

My husband and I purchased a Maytag Neptune front loading washing machine (model #MAH5500BWQ) and a dryer through Sears on 9/13/06 to put in our new house. The washer has developed a very loud noise when it spins. I asked the Sears technician, who was here servicing another Sears appliance, to listen to the noise and tell me what could be wrong. He said the bearing was gone. I told him we had only had the machine for less than three years. He said he has seen the bearing go as early as eight months after purchase. He said the casing around the bearing is plastic and doesn't hold up. I asked what it would cost to repair and he said about $500.00 for the part and another $200-plus for the labor because it takes two men to take it apart and fix it. I told him that was as much as I paid for the washer. He said he knows, but that's the way it is. He said there have been many complaints about this issue. He said Maytag is now owned by Whirlpool.
Is there anything we can do to remedy this situation? It seems unfair to buy a product of that cost that was explained as a great machine and have something this expensive go this quickly. It has been making noise for several months now. Thank you for any advice or help you can give me. He says if the bearing breaks, water will keep leaking and could do great damage. He says to never leave it unattended. It is only my husband and I. And I do 2-3 loads a week. I'm so disappointed.

On July 2, 2009, I hired Jose to fix my Maytag stackable washer in my home. Jose came along with another person named Chuy. I explained to Jose that the washer would wash clothes but that it seemed to not be spinning because there would still be a lot of water in the clothes as well as in the water after it stopped. Jose stated that the washer needed a water pump. When I asked for the cost, Jose stated the cost with parts and labor would be $200 and I would need to give him a $110 deposit in order to fix it.
I gave him the deposit, and on July 3, Jose, along with Chuy, returned to repair the washer. Jose came to me when he had finished the work and told me that the washer was completing the washing cycle but it was indeed fixed, and he collected the remaining $90 for the work. After the washer stopped, I put a load of clothes in. But when it stopped, I still had the same problem as before. I immediately called Jose and informed him of the problem. He told me that he would return the next morning, July 4, to repair it.
I called Jose the next morning to confirm the appointment, but I was told by Jose that he would not be coming because it was a holiday but that I would see him on Monday morning at 9:00 am. At 10:30 am, I called Jose, because I had not heard from him. He told me that he forgot that he had a doctor's appointment and that he would be at my home after 11:00am. At 3:00pm, I contacted Jose, and he informed me that he had needed to go to the hospital to have test done on his liver. Jose told me that he would be at my home on Tuesday.
Then on Tuesday morning, I did not hear from Jose; but by Tuesday afternoon, a person by the name of Edgar showed up at my home, saying he was there to fix my washer. When I asked where Jose was, he told me he didn't know he had other clients but that Jose had hired him to fix my washer. I asked him his name, and he told me his name was Edgar. I asked what company he was from, and he said Garcia Appliances (562-423-8199) in Long Beach, 741 East Artesia Blvd. He worked on my washer on Tuesday. When he was finished, he left the washer running and he instructed me to call him after it completed the cycle to give him the results.
When it finished, I called to inform him that it was not fixed. I called Jose on Wednesday morning to let him know that my washer was not fixed. Jose never returned himself to fix my washer. Edgar returned again on Wednesday, but at the end of the day, I still had the same problem. I contacted Edgar again as he instructed me to, only to be able to leave a message letting him know that not only was my washer not fixed but that now, the washer is cutting off at the wash cycle and not starting. I had not had that problem before. Edgar never returned my call.
I contacted Jose this Thursday morning, July 9; and Jose was very rude and belligerent. He stated Edgar would not be coming back. I asked him why would he not fix my washer since I did hire him; I paid him $200 to fix my washer, and I have a 6-month warranty that is stated on the receipt. He told he that he would only give me back $100, because he claimed Edgar's service was over $350. But he would not give me the $100 until Saturday after 1:00pm. I had requested an invoice for the water pump, which I never received or an itemized list of the work from Edgar.
I contacted Garcia Appliances in Long Beach, and I was told that Edgar was not an employee but that he did work for them from time to time. I was told that they would contact Edgar on my behalf, but I have not heard from anyone. When asked, Jose would not provide a business address or a business license number. I did a telephone search, and the telephone number is not under Jose Gonzalez or Gonzalez Appliance, but it is under Mario ** at Los Angeles, CA 90059. I asked Jose why won't he fix the washer since it is his business, and there was no legitimate response. I never asked for my money back. I would like for my washer to be repaired, and I think I have been fair and have given him an ample amount of time, even though I am frustrated. The reimbursement was Jose's solution, but only for $100 and at his discretion.
I am on a fixed income, and I don't have the money to hire someone else at this time. I feel it is only fair that I be reimbursed the total amount of $200.00, if anything. My daughter Mina also contacted Jose regarding his business ethics as well. You may contact Mina and my daughter LaRhonda, who can vouch for everything that I have told you.

I have a Maytag Neptune that has finally quit working. It never did really work well. It made a horrible noise while washing last week. It usually sounds like a jet taking off, but this was different. The repairman told me it is unfixable. One of the springs broke (probably from the violent spin cycles) dropped onto the motor/wiring then shorted out the circuit board. Good riddance! We spent a lot of money for this appliance and have been unhappy ever since. The washer we had before that cost 1/2 as much was so much better and lasted 20 plus years. The Maytag Neptune lasted 2 years?!

We purchased a Maytag steam washer, supposedly top of the line. Within one month, the machine would not work. It was obviously defective, but we were told it could not be replaced. We waited for a week before anyone would come to look at the machine. We waited another two weeks before anyone would come back with the part. During that two weeks, we attempted to contact the service providers, but they would not return our messages, would not answer their phones and even turned them off after we attempted to call.
Of course, they finally come, but Maytag had told the repair man to order the wrong part. I called myself to order the part that they now say they need and was assured that it would arrive the next day by 4:00 p.m. Of course, it did not arrive. When I called to check on my part, all I am told is that my order did not go through but that they would send it again.
So now, I am waiting two to three more days. I asked to speak to management and was treated horribly. He told me that they would no longer speak to me about my past inconveniences and that he would only talk to me about the part not arriving and that he would not compensate me in any way. He told me that I should not have scheduled service so late in the day, even though I was assured by his service department that the part would arrive. I have already waited nearly a month, of course, I wanted the machine fixed as soon as possible. I am now out 4 days of work. I have no clean clothes to wear and the machine is still not fixed. I have never been treated so rudely in my entire life. I will never purchase another Maytag or Whirlpool appliance.

Maytag prides itself for product durability and integrity. The metal of the dryer drum cracked. It is caused by one of the following reasons; design flaw by using lighter weigh metal or improper metal joint or improper manufacturing process that caused metal fatigue. I purchased this product in 2005, dryer model # MDE9700AYW for $799.95. The metal drum cracked in the 4th year of its normal use. When I called Maytag about the product warranty, they informed me it has expired. No one ever heard of a dryer drum crack within 4 years of its life. Dryers used to run forever. This cost me $360 to repair the product of which I could have replaced it with any brand dryer that will last me for 30 years.

Brown specks occur in my washer and get all over my clothes that are being washed. This occurs even after I use Afresh in it to clean it. I leave the door open so that all the water will dry. I have ruined several white blouses and shirts with the brown specks that get on them and create a brown spot when touched.

We purchased a washer and dryer set on 03/17/2006. Since 2006, we have had multiple problems with the washing machine. Maytag has replaced the circuit board twice and the console once. On June the 7th, a repairman came to fix our washing machine again. He called another repairman on June 15th, at which time he let me know that the circuit board needed to be replace again and some valves on the unit was not properly working. The Maytag repairman was to order the parts and install them within 7 to 10 business days.
Two days later, I received a call from the Maytag repairs office informing me that my washing machine was no longer covered under the warranty. I was told that a person from logistics would be calling me. Andrea from Maytag Dependability called me on June 24th to explain that the repairs to the machine had exceeded the purchase price and there was nothing they would do for me. I asked her where we could find this information as in the clause of the warranty. The section she told me to look in is as follows:
3. Claim Limitation
The total claims limitation under this contract is the original purchase price of the covered product less sales tax, delivery and installation. During the term of the contract, we may elect, at our option, to buyout the contract for the original purchase price of the covered product less claims paid, less sales tax, delivery and installation, or replace the product with a comparable product. In the event we reimburse you or replace the product, we shall have satisfied all obligations owed under the contract.
Andrea informed me that due to the fact that the other claims have almost exceeded my purchase price, no repairs will be made to the washing machine. She needed me to fax her my original invoice for proof of purchase and sales amount. I request that the machine be replace with a comparable product and was informed that option was no longer available. I would only be refunded what was left from the claims per the purchase price.
We purchased a five-year warranty that was to end on 03/26/2012, and we purchased an additional warranty on the motor of the washing machine for another six years. Both warranties totaled $199.00 for the full price of $399.98. The purchase price of the washing machine was $899.00, plus taxes. We still, to this day, do not have a washing machine that works. To me, when you pay $1,298.98 and only have an appliance for three years and three months, the company that manufactured the appliance should stand behind that appliance.
We have not received a refund check to date. I am unaware of how much they will refund back, due to the fact that they can set their own price for repairs.

Customer service and Whirlpool CEO office offered nothing more than standard repair and repair until it can't be fixed anymore. After owning this machine for 20 days and returning from an 11-day vacation with 4 full bag of dirty laundry with 2 additional guests in the house, after spending over $2000 on the washer/dryer pair, I am stuck basically with no washer and no real help with Maytag/Whirlpool.

My Maytag washing machine has been serviced three times because during the spin cycle, I think the drum becomes unbalanced (or perhaps it is warped). The grey rubber scrapes against the door of the washing machine and made a hole in the door. The door has already been replaced twice. Now, the same problem is occurring even though we are putting less clothes in the washer (half full). As a result, I am washing more times, using more electricity, more water, more soap and wasting more time!
The last time, the repair service also replaced a computer board. They said that it would adjust the spin cycle speed but the same problem is happening. GE keeps telling me the door is not covered under the service contract. The company that was initially supposed to come for this third service call does not have an opening for nine more days (I have not washed clothes for five days since I called for this service).
GE called another repair service company to come tomorrow. This company called and when we said it was a Maytag Neptune Washer, they said they do not service this washer--too many problems, too many headaches with them. Now I had to call GE back again and the woman told me the door was not covered and I told her the drum is spinning up against the door and scratching it--so she has called another company and I am waiting for them to fix my washer. GE is sending me a check to wash my clothes in a Laundromat. This is ridiculous.
In addition, my washing machine smells really bad all the time. We have complained about this on our first service call because we can hear water inside the washer when the drum moves when loading and unloading the machine. Is this normal? The smell is really bad. It smells like mildew or something, not like fresh soapy water!

I bought a Maytag washer in October of 2006. As you can see, it isn't 3 years old yet. It started making a terrible noise probably 6-12 months ago. Finally, I called a repairman and all he could do was spray some kind of silicone to make it better. I am very disappointed in Maytag. I always heard you never had to call a repairman. I will never buy a Maytag and I will tell others not to buy one. Any chance I get, I'll let people know about how I feel about the Maytag product. The noise is so bad you can not be close to the room where the washer is. You can hear it all the way into the back of the house. I have no choice but to keep it and listen to the sound. I had to pay close to $60 just for the repairman to come and spray something that did not work. I ask the one at the store where I bought it and he said his makes the same noise.

I have a Maytag washer and dryer. Both are in need of servicing. I have not had the Maytag washer for even a year (August 2008 purchase) and the dryer for three years (August 2006 purchase). The dryer has been worked on in the past year, because the drying element went out and now the pulley is gone and so is the drive belt. The washer does not wash a full load with me restarting it by pushing on the sensor to turn it back on.
I spoke to Maytag, and the young lady was rude. She was defensive, and I don't understand why. I told her someone needs to say something to corporate office about these products and the engineers who designed the products. They are not reliable and non-functional.
Her attitude was so bad, and so, I decided to call the customer service line and got Howard. Howard offered to give me $50. That does not solve my problem. It will not repair my washer and dryer. It will not give me the money I have spent at the laundromat and time I have spent going. They really need to do something about their products. But in the meantime, consumers need to be made aware of their products and customer service.
Thus far, I have spent $21 drying clothes for my family. I tell the kids to use the same towel again, to keep from going to the laundromat more. The dryer has been down for 10 days and have 4 more days before someone will be out to do anything.

We just learned about the class action lawsuit a few years back regarding the Maytag Neptune Washers. We have had both the washer and dryer repaired over the years and although both were registered from the date of purchase (2001) for their warranty, we were never notified of the lawsuit. Why weren't we ever notified? We know for a fact that Maytag has all our info because we called them yesterday regarding our most recent problem and they had all our info- names, date of purchase, model #s, etc., right in front of them on the computer.
We have now had the dryer repaired three times since purchase and the washer at least once and are out several hundred dollars, and we deal with a constant odor in the washer from the horrible mold and mildew build-up. However, they don't cover the mold problem. I was transferred to Maytag after being told that they would for sure cover the problem, only to find out that they do not.
The solution they gave me was to run a clean cycle with bleach and hot water. I have done that, and it does work; but it seems that I have to do it on a weekly basis to even begin to control the problem. I currently have a septic system, and the thought of bleach pouring into it every week is appalling just to ensure that my washing machine won't make my self and family ill.

My husband and I purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer from Queen City Appliance in Concord, NC. The washer has problems. It does not go thru the cycles as it should. We reported this to Queen City. Nothing was done to correct the problem. We reported it again. We were told that they did not receive a complaint from us. Fact was the person who took the complaint never registered the complaint with the managers as we found out 2 months later. I wanted the washer replaced since I purchased new. I expected it to work like new. Queen City said we had to let them send out a repair tech first.
The repair person did come to my house but said he did not have time to hang around to put the washer thru a cycle to find the problem as the company gives him a tight schedule and he had to do so many appointments in an allotted time period and left without determining the problem. We called back to Queen City Appliance to complain about this behavior. At first the female employee was upset with the repair company as they pay them by contract to do repairs. This repairman went back and lied to the company saying that the washer was ok and that the problem was my plumbing, which was totally not true.
So then Queen City sent out a private repair man from another company they do business with. He figured it was the timer that was defective and replaced it but that did not fix the problem. We called back Queen City and wanted the lemon washer replaced. But they refused flatly, claiming that they would not stand behind the appliances that they sell. They told us if we had a problem, call Maytag ourselves. We called Maytag 2 times with no results. It has been 2 and a half months ago and we still have not been able to get the lemon washer replaced. We purchased a new washer and dryer for over $1000, not damaged or second hand appliances. Also, the dryer was dented which we were willing to over look. But the washer has not worked correctly since day one. We believe we have the right to receive a working new replacement. We purchased a new washer and dryer but that’s not what we got.

My wife and I bought a new pair of Maytag washer and dryer at the Navy PX. After three years of use (two 70-year-olds), both have fallen apart. First, the pump went out on the washer. It cost $177.00 to have it repaired, then the bearing on dryer drum went out. Now the belt broke on the washer. I am calling Goodwill to come and get both of them and I will never buy another Maytag again. Whatever happen to the lonely old Maytag repairman with nothing to do? The washer model is SAV2655AWW. I don't know what the dryer is, but it's all junk, not what they made years ago.

My complaint is that when the transmission was replaced, the tech asked me to wash out the steel tub and plastic liner. I was dumbfounded as to the amount of sludge mildew and mold inside the plastic bin. For months, my wife was complaining of a foul odor in our home. I am certain this sludge is the cause. I purchased a Maytag Legacy Quiet series 300 a little over a year ago. When attempting to wash on the normal cycle, it switches to the rinse cycle and then you can get it to switch back until you run it over and over and over on rinse. My husband calls it possessed. I did contact Maytag who at the time said, "I'm sorry but we won't help you since it didn't show the problem within the 1st year." Then I filed a complaint on the internet complaints board and someone from Maytag did contact me to try and help. They said they would pay to have one of their authorized repair services come out and gave the list of authorized companies.
I made an appointment with one of them, Koczaweiz, who did not show up on the scheduled day on which I had off from work. Maytag claimed they couldn't do anything. I cannot take another day off from work in the hopes that another repair company will show up. Maytag said they couldn't ask their authorized repair companies to reschedule around my schedule so that I didn't have to take off again. I would never spend another penny on Maytag and I feel it's my duty to let as many people as possible know that buying a Maytag product is nothing but a headache and has tripled my water bill every month.

Maytag Neptune Washing Machine accumulates mold, etc. Had it taken apart and was told there was nothing I could do other than wash it out every week. Rinse vinegar or lemon juice and water, or bleach through a cycle once a week. Wash out the drum and door. I just read about the class action lawsuit. We purchased our washing machine in June of 2004, but never received notice of the lawsuit. Is there anything I can do now? I have kept purchasing the Maytag protection plan - but at $80.00 per year, that is no longer worth it. Is that why I didn't receive notice of the lawsuit? My clothes are exposed to mold with every washing. If left unattended, the odor is offensive.

90 days after owning the washer, the rubber ring around the top broke into pieces and had started to leek water through out the unit. Then one year later, the ring broke again as well as the softener cup on the side. This started the clothes to smell like mildew and have to be rewashed two to three times with bleach. We called Maytag again and they said there was nothing they could do, but warranty the part that we had to replace. So we were stuck with a lemon. The next year, the bearing in the motor went out. We had to replace the entire bearing unit and now it has been six months and the computer board has decided to go now. We have sunk over $350 into this piece of junk and we paid the over price for a new set that we were told would last us twenty years $2,400. We purchased a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in the Spring of 2005. The first year, I had trouble with the washer not draining, and then the odor. Within a year and a half, we had to replace the Water Pump twice. The second water pump put in came with a tiny hole in it that seemed to enjoy spraying water everywhere. We have had the repair person out at least three times, for items found in the pump.
The washer does not drain properly still, and does not spin the clothes well. I always have to re-spin. The straw that broke the camel's back was the dryer catching on fire last week. Smoke was coming from under the drum of the dryer, there was smoke everywhere. We managed to disconnect the dryer from the wall, pulled out the clothes, and the fire subsided. Had we left that dryer on and left the house, or gone to sleep with it running, the house could have burned down.

I purchased a Neptune front load washer in December 2005. It worked well for about a year. Then the mildew odor started developing and it started dancing around the laundry room during the spin cycle. The only thing that keeps it in place is either the wall or the hoses. I'm expecting it to rip the pipes out of the wall one of these days. I've put rubber anti-vibration pads under the feet and this helps a little but on most loads, the machine simply vibrates off one of the pads and then it really starts rocking.
I've had the Maytag repair guy out as well as the repair guy from GE (GE has the extended service contract). Neither could stop the vibration. They suggested that I load the machine up with towels whenever I do a partial load. That makes a lot of sense. I will use it for a while longer, since it cost about $1K and when I get annoyed enough I'll put it out on the curb with a sign - DO NOT BUY MAYTAG APPLIANCES!!!
The salesman at the local Lowe's said that these machines are known to be problems and were intended to be used in the basement on a concrete pad. The store I bought it from naturally said nothing about these problems. I suppose that they just wanted to get it out of their store. I also own a Maytag gas range. The oven doesn't work. Bottom line - I will never buy another Maytag appliance and will advise my kids, sisters, brother, cousins, neighbors, work colleagues, and anyone else who asks not to buy Maytag either.

Then, mold started on the boot and the smell from inside was bad. I received some info about a class action suit. I filled out the paperwork and sent it back, but I never heard anything else. I couldn't find my copy of the paperwork I sent in and Maytag told me that they never received it. I found my paperwork after the deadline but I was too late, even though I have been complaining to Maytag for a long time about the same issues covered in the class action suit. The best they could do was to offer me a 10% discount on another Maytag product - not a chance!
I will never buy another product associated with Maytag in any way. What a rip off! They would not even give me a new boot for the door, even though mine was moldy beyond repair. I bought one from the Maytag parts department, thinking it had been improved from the old one. This did not help, and the machine now has a very strong mold smell. I was not aware of the class action lawsuit, or I surely would have chosen to get rid of this machine.
I have tried drying the machine out after use as suggested by a Maytag rep and using bleach to clean it out to no avail. I spend more time washing the washer than washing clothes! I told him that my previous washer had no problems and it was used, so we wanted something new and nice looking since our hook ups are in the kitchen. He still insisted it was the floors, so I sucked up the often walking of my washer and only did laundry if someone was able to sit on the washer during the spin cycle.
In February 2009, my washer shuts off after a few seconds of running. Then it would kick back on after about 10-15 minutes, and a few seconds later, kick off again. It took over a full day to get a load of laundry done. Now in March, it began washing right again. In April, it began not spinning out the load, like the timing was off. However, if I turned it back to spin cycle, it would spin out the clothes. It still wasn't rinsing the clothes out properly.
I called Maytag and they sent someone out; that cost me $65. He informed me that my timer needed to be replaced, which I told the lady on the phone. Now the front door boot seal needs to be replaced. At the time the service tech was out looking at the front seal, he mentioned the pump is on its last leg and will need to be replaced. One of the main problems we have encountered with the machine started when it was approximately one year old, is it releases water from the machine onto the floor, which has created several problems. The first is the carpet that surrounds the outside of the room has gotten wet.
The other is the wood door jamb leading into the laundry room has been damaged from the water that the washer has released. We have had the washer checked out several times by a service tech. The service tech was unable to find any reason for this action. The service tech recommendation was to install a metal catch pan under the washer to catch the excess water the machine discharges on to the floor. The metal pans have water residue contained in the pan approximately once a month depending on the usage of the machine.

The repairman has replaced the sensors, wash plate, cable harness, tub, and water pump. The service person has gone above and beyond to try and fix the problem, but there seems to be no solution. Once the extended warranty is done, it would be a waste of money to pay for repairing the same problem over and over. At over $800, this is the most expensive washer we have ever owned. At twice the price of a conventional top-loader, junking this machine after only 2 years is a serious burden to our finances.

Mildew is building up on the rubber casement inside the washer. It is impossible to clean. I have to leave the door open to air dry it which leaves the washer system on using energy.

I bought on March 9, 2004 a Maytag washer which is a Neptune TL top loader from Home Depot, also a service from Home Depot which is GE-Zurich which expires in March 2009. The model number is fav6800aww. This is a brief story hopefully. Within a year from owning the machine, it had numerous problems such as lid locks the liner, the fabric softer was shorting out, the LCD panel which they rigged, also the pump; I can't tell you how many times that was replaced and also, the clutch. I went from 3 weeks without a washer up to 7 weeks without one. The clothes were always dirty. I had water on floors when broken. This is what took place this year alone.
I'm still covered under GE-Zurich till 3/2009. In March, I had the LCD panel replaced; then in Aug. 2008, I needed a pump. I believe they said they came with a pump. It would not work so I had to wait 3 more weeks, in total 7 weeks. They fixed it with an LCD panel. Then in Oct. 2008, it went; it was the clutch or pump -I'm not sure. They came within two weeks and the part was no good. 3 weeks later, they came and fixed it. As of 1/1/2009, it went again. This is just in one year's time what I've experienced. I say at least 2 times a year or more, since 2004, I've gone without a washing machine for anywhere from 2 weeks to 7 weeks. I now decided to buy a new one on 1/2/2009. I once wrote Better Business and I was told where they're fixing the product, by law there is not much they can do and it had to have 3 failures of the same part within the year's time. So, I didn't have much of a choice.

I have a Maytag Legacy top load washer. It was purchased new from Home Depot on 11/19/2004. It has been to the repair shop 1 time already. It took almost 3 weeks for it to be repaired, waiting on parts, that problem was fixed. Now, it vibrates so bad on the spin cycle that I do small loads only. I have read this seems to be a problem common to these machines. It will not spin the water or soap out of the clothes.
I live in a mobile home. The washer shakes so bad that it has loosen all the screws on the ceiling lights. After one of the globes fell out in the middle of the night, I have check all of them at least once a week. When the washer was in the repair shop, I had to drive about 16 miles to do laundry. To get this machine out of this house is a pain. With this machine not spinning the water out, my drying time is longer, using more power. Sometimes an extra rinse is needed, too.
What I would like to know is why Maytag has no solution to this problem. I had a Whirlpool washer for over 14 years. I needed a larger machine so I bought this so-called name brand. NEVER AGAIN!!!
