We ordered flooring for three rooms from Lumber Liquidators, we brought blueprints of all of the rooms to our local store and they didn’t read the measurements correctly. They sent a women out to measure the floor again to give us an estimate on installation and make sure we had enough supplies for the job and she also measured the floor incorrectly. This resulted in being six boxes of flooring short and a roll of padding. On the day of install the installers told us that our local Lumber Liquidators ordered the wrong wooden floor seam strips so we had to go back to the store.
The employee from Lumber Liquidators said “they do not know what they are talking about or doing!” They said this about the people THEY sent out to do my flooring. We were then charged for six boxes of flooring because they measured incorrectly, we should have never been charged for their mistakes... We called customer support and they said they would refund our six boxes we had to purchase that day. Weeks later and we still hadn’t received the refund. It took over five calls to simply get a refund for something we shouldn’t of been charged for in the first place.
They also didn’t have the same floor seam strips so they told us that we could pick some up at another store location that was over a half hour away... That wasn’t possible when we had the installers at the house. So we now have a different color wooden strips on our floor and they never offered to order the right ones to install later. We had a water leak that required the concrete in the kitchen to be jackhammered up and new concrete poured. They installers didn’t notice this and installed the floor on top of this without leveling this location. This caused the floor to buckle when walked on. There was also another spot where there’s was a small rock that was breaking through the floor. I had to get the corporate office involved to get my refund straightened out and to get the flooring fixed.
I explained to the lady from corporate customer service that we should have received more compensation for all of our issues but she expressed that Lumber Liquidators has already done a lot for us. All they have done was caused us issues, tried to charge us for extra things we didn’t even require such as moving appliances and a few other things, gave us the runaround for a refund for something we shouldn’t of been charged for in the first place, shorted us six boxes of flooring and a roll of padding, ordered the wrong product and said the people they sent to our house didn’t know what they where doing.
Lumber Liquidators didn’t do anything other then submit a warranty claim. When I said we deserved furthermore compensation for our problems the lady from corporate made it seem like the they were doing us a favor for getting the floor fixed with a warranty claim and stated that they also paid for an a box of flooring that was needed for the repair for issues their installers created.
I wouldn’t recommend Lumber Liquidators to my worst enemy. It is extremely rude that they are telling customers that their third-party installers don’t know what they are doing. That makes that company look bad when in reality lumber liquidators just needed to point the finger of blame to someone else when it was them who ordered the wrong items. That employees of the install company make a living off of installs and Lumber Liquidators is bashing their name to its own customers.... We have a whole house that needs new flooring and we will definitely not be contacting Lumber Liquidators for any other work.

We got middle to high-grade engineered flooring from Lumber Liquidators. Their sales rep went over all of the flooring with us. We were looking at all different kinds of levels of flooring and he explained to us the hardness of them for our situation. He was very thorough. We installed the flooring and it was very easy. An absolute must is our nail gun and an air compressor. Since the installation, we have found the quality of the flooring to be excellent. If you're considering purchasing from Lumber Liquidators, ask their reps to let you touch the sample for you to feel it. Also, if you're planning to do the installation by yourself, mention that to them. They can talk you through the process. Overall, I had an excellent experience with Lumber Liquidators.

I purchased engineered bamboo flooring from a Lumber Liquidators store in Amarillo. The young man there was very knowledgeable and polite. He helped me out a lot. Lumber Liquidators had to order what I needed because I wanted a greater quantity than what they had when I first got there. The order came in a couple of weeks and worked just fine. We installed it ourselves as a floating floor and it was extremely easy to work with. Thus far, I really like the flooring. It scratches a little easier than I thought it would but it's a very pretty floor. For the quality, the price I got was good. I'm extremely pleased with Lumber Liquidators and would definitely use their products again.

I am livid with the Southeast region. I ordered floors out of the Kennesaw GA store and scheduled installation. They screwed up their schedule and when their crew arrived, they left within the first 30 minutes because they weren't aware I was having tile laid down. I also had other contractors working in a different room than the floors were going to start being laid down. They claimed that it was my fault they were leaving because we had other contractors present. In their pre-installation forms it says nothing about not having other contractors working at the house. We complained and they worked with us and then made accommodations to come out the following day. I then got a call saying they weren't going to do the installation anymore and they think we should go separate ways.
Some guy named Scott ** got upset because we asked for a small rebate for compensation for them screwing up. Instead of talking it through with us, he canceled our appointment without even reaching out. I already paid this company $12k and all I want is my floors installed. I've never seen a business operate so poorly. It's not like I have a balance left over, I've paid IN FULL, and they are refusing to deliver on what I've paid for. I've done sales for years and sales management and the move Scott made, would not be acceptable anywhere I've ever worked. The customer is supposed to be first especially when they've paid and have been a repeat customer. They are the ones that didn't meet the schedule, not us, and they keep on disappointing. They have lawsuits against them for shady business practices which I wasn't aware of. If you're buying floors from these guys BEWARE.

We bought engineered hardwood flooring from Lumber Liquidators in-store. I got an installer from Lumber Liquidators, which was also recommended by them. So, I asked them to install my flooring. And then, unfortunately, they just started it, and up to now, it’s not done yet. I told them that I will have a visitor coming. The material is already in, but it took them a while and up to now, I don’t have any word from them yet.
I've been waiting for more than two weeks now. The project is probably taking almost two months. So, I have to call corporate to tell them what’s going on. I’m not gonna pay that much for that embarrassment from my visitors. In short, it’s not a good experience. If they commit something, they should do it. And if they cannot, they should say, “Hey, you know what, we cannot do this.” That’s why I want a compensation with this delay and embarrassment I got from my friends and family.
There are a few steps from the stairs that is still bare, and the ballast is not even put in yet. There are small kids running in the house. We have to tell them, “Oh, do not climb the stairs because it’s dangerous, okay?” Lumber Liquidators gave me the installation company. It’s directly connected to them. I just spoke with the Lumber Liquidators officer in that particular store. And then they gave me the number to call corporate because I was very disappointed.

I was trying to match up some wood that I already had and was having a hard time finding a match. I didn't know what to do and I was headed to one of the hardware stores, Home Depot. My original flooring came from one of the outlets out of Dalton. I couldn't find that match anywhere. It sold out. I was looking to find who could help me find the wide oak floors which were difficult to find in this region because that type of oak generally comes from certain parts of Tennessee. Red oak was way more available or accessible. I went to Lumber Liquidators and had a good experience with them.
I really received an education as to what to look for and why. Their people were very knowledgeable. They pointed me in the right direction and even let me know the kind of shade for the flooring. They paid attention to the type of knots and told me a lot about the age of the wood. They even helped me to see how I could be economical with the flooring and save some money with regards to what I was selecting - you could pick the mid-grade to top grade and so forth. The flooring wasn't cheap but they were reasonable and it was quality. They were willing to work with us and made it very easy to make a smooth transition with my existing floor. I was very happy with them.
I hired a contractor for the installation. They were people that I knew. They worked for me before and I was confident that they would do a good job. And they did. The flooring was almost a flawless match. I learned things about wood aging and changing with the lighting and time. The flooring darkened some as time went on which is nice because it started to match the other existing floors.

About the beginning of February my daughter and I visited Lumber Liquidators to purchase flooring. We were both remodeling our homes. Thinking we might receive a better price for quantity. In doing so we purchased approximately 6K dollars worth of flooring, I already had the 10% overage in my numbers but it was added again. This is not what hacks me, I returned today to return 8 boxes out of 60 that were left over and to now purchase all trim now needed to complete the job. This would have been more money in trim than the floor I was returning. All boxes were mint condition, but seems there is a 90 day return policy. I left and bought trim from Lowe’s. Whoever heard of a contractor finishing in 90 days. l loved the floor and how it turned out, but from now on, I will have that taste in my mouth. Never, Never Again. If anyone wants to know how I feel, just ask me???

I purchased some engineered hardwood from Lumber Liquidators. All of my interactions were good. I've purchased the same stuff multiple times because I wasn't sure how far I was gonna go with the product. And it was easy to install. So, I kept going back to buy more. The quality of the flooring is good. The only thing is it shows scratches fairly well. I have dogs so it's tough to not scratch up that kind of a floor. So, I haven't done anything to try to really cover the scratches yet. The cost is also good. I went with the engineered hardwood since its easier to install and it's a bit cheaper than regular hardwood.

Purchased LVT product to replace vinyl tile & carpet ruined by water damage in a child care center. The LVT looks great & is very low maintenance! The install was scheduled for 2 weekends just after Christmas & New Years when child attendance was very low (fewer than 25 children). Unfortunately, the vinyl cove base to complete the job didn't match, so the install crew couldn't complete the job. Through numerous phone calls between the store manager (my only contact) & myself, new cove base was ordered in late January 2019.
TWO months later & after numerous phone calls, the cove base was installed March 23, 2019, but the 2 areas where the LVT bubbled up were not replaced, as was scheduled for the same time by the crew. Throughout this process, I was in written communication with Lumber Liquidators credit personnel regarding why I had not paid the $5000 financed portion of the job. In my last written communication, I stated I was waiting until job completion to pay...although I had initially paid $31,719.83. Lumber Liquidators sent an employee to the child care center; the Director was asked to sign the job was completed. When I next contacted (in writing) Lumber Liquidators, they forwarded the slip signed by my employee. Thereafter daily credit phone calls began.
Additionally, on 5/21/19 although partial payment was scheduled & a commitment to pay 100% of balance ASAP, despite the incomplete repair job, I received a very threatening email. The threats included ruining both my personal credit rating & taking actions to ruin the company's credit rating. It is very hard to accurately rate the overall experience: Lumber Liquidators sales staff were great, installation crew was professional & on time...problems occurred with "special order" vinyl cove base taking so long (2 months), and replacing post installation problems.

I purchased wood flooring based on the samples presented by Lumber Liquidators. Product received was not a match for what I purchased. So badly off that it was not usable. I purchased my floor in late 2018. Shortly after the installation I noticed gaping in several areas. I called Barb in customer service who told me it was because my sub-floor was not flat and suggested I glue it with crazy glue. How she knew that my floor was not flat over the phone is beyond me. Using a straight edge if checked and found it to be flat within 1/16 over 8 ft. I was still told I would need to hire a certified inspector to do a report @ $550. Which Lumber Liquidators would not pay for even if they found nothing wrong with the installation. All I ask is that they send a representative to inspect.

I wanted to install hardwood floor at the entrance of the house. I am very disappointed of the outcome of this job. They installed the floor without leveling the sub-floor, they cut the bottom of my basement door to fit the HIGH floor WITHOUT asking me or informing me and they added a transition which caused a tripping hazard in the middle of the family room. My floor looks like it's been done by a 5-year old, they ruined the entrance of my house and they damaged my basement door.
I was really looking forward to it but this is not what I expected at all. I've contacted the company in the past month and no one is willing to do anything about it and no response whatsoever. This is an absolutely horrific mess that they created in my home. None of my friends believe that I brought in a big company to do this job and it's sad that I paid so much money for a non-professional outcome. I do not recommend them AT ALL because they are unhelpful and only want money rather than helping their loyal customers.

I purchased bamboo flooring from the Lumber Liquidators store in Scarborough, Maine and I used the people they recommended for installation. The first time, I was given a product that couldn't be put down on my cement floor. It had to have a pad because of the condo regulations. The installer said that we can't do that with the particular flooring. But I also had later talked to people in the building who said that they did that. So, there was some confusion. I had to take the wood back, get the new flooring, bring it in, and have it sit there and acclimatize. It was a pain overall and I was not sure whether the installers weren't well informed or the people in my building who had it done weren't well informed. There was a problem somewhere but other than that, once I got the right product, everything went fine. The installers took 2 days to install and I am pleased with the quality of the products.

I called 8 days later to check on the order and was told that my order didn't even leave the manufacturer yet and Lumber Liquidators wouldn't even receive it in their warehouse until May 15 and it would take an additional 1-2 weeks to receive it in the local store from there. I asked why nobody called to inform me as I was waiting for this floor to be installed to move into a house we bought and completely renovated; I was met with a rude comment that they can't keep up with everybody's order every day. He wasn't sure if they could get the color I wanted, but he showed me the closest. It was perfect and he gave me a price. I purchased some hardwood flooring and they have plenty of the product in-stock. I paid for it right then and there. A guy was out in the back and he loaded up my truck. There was also another guy behind the desk. They were both very nice and polite. They were great to work with and I was in and out within a matter of 20 minutes.

I hired one contractor to install, so they’re kind of like professional. But they told me though the quality of this one is not really good.
Some months ago, I order one of them because one of my guests spilled water on the floor. It caused a lot of buckle bumps and it was a big one. So, it is easy to see. If you don’t clean right away, like one hour or two hour, it’s gonna be like really bad quality. And even after, because if you remember like two months ago, it’s already wet winter, so the inside the house is pretty wet. That is why there are all the small buckle ups. After that, I called them. Maybe one week or two weeks it’s gonna be gone, but it will not. They’re still there. We tried, too, to turn on the AC and also the heater, but it’s still the same. Nothing has changed. As a member of the now Class Action Lawsuit against Lumber Liquidators, I did want to be on record to say that my Morning Star Bamboo flooring (MS Strand Bamboo) is also cupping, and splitting along the edges a mere 2 or 3 months after installation. This product, while beautiful, is most certainly faulty. I had it installed by contracted flooring specialist, and it began to show problems along the edges of each plank probably 8 weeks after the installation. The installers were some of the highest rated on Yelp, and did a great job initially, so I am sure it is the product at fault here, not the installation. I will say that the service team at Lumber Liquidators were very nice and professional, and as sales folks I don't think they did anything wrong per se. They just sold what they thought was a good product, but it simply isn't. It is really a shame, because the flooring when it was day 1 old, was simply stunning. All downhill from there however.

They took care of us and they communicated. The two guys that I dealt with were both knowledgeable and helpful. Also, the quality of the flooring has been great. We love it.
However, I was blown away by the price of the glue. And it had nothing to do with Lumber Liquidators. I couldn’t believe that they would charge $200. Theirs was a little higher than most, but they were as high everywhere. It’s a little eye opening there when they say you gotta have 10 tubs of a $150 of each tub and like four gallons up. It was crazy how much a set of glue to put in. Engineered wood flooring is a little bit different. They allow you to have a floating system or you can glue it down. If you have a good, flat surface, it works well. Everything else was fine just like they told me, and we’re still happy. There’s no reason why I wouldn’t recommend Lumber Liquidators.

I bought some bamboo flooring from Lumber Liquidators and it went fabulous. My wife and I went in there with a few different options that we were looking at. The salesperson helped us pick out what they thought would best suit our needs. As it turned out, the salesman had the same product as what we ended up picking. He said he had dogs, and we have dogs, so we were concerned about what the dogs’ impact would be on the finish of the flooring and we got a first-hand opinion on that. That was helpful.
I installed the flooring myself and it kicked my butt. I spent a couple of weeks working on it. I was working in a space that still had furniture in it. We did our dining room and living area and I had to work through and move everything, and virtually did it all by myself. We get all kinds of compliments on the flooring. Everybody says what a nice floor it is and what a nice job I did putting it down. But don’t do it yourself. Hire a professional.

When you walk on one section of the hardwood floor it leaves foot prints and it doesn't matter if you are wearing shoes, socks or barefoot. So, on Feb 24th I sent an email regarding the complaint with my hardwood floor. I received an email back asking for the phone number related to the complaint although I had included the order number and customer number along with my name and address. I replied to that email on Feb 25th to a customer service rep named Emily. I heard nothing back so on March 7th I sent a follow up email, we even called her direct line and left a message. Still no response. I sent another email to her on March 30th. It is now April 17th and still no response. If this is how they handle complaints, I would suggest never buying anything from them.

I purchased bamboo flooring from Lumber Liquidators at Lake City and the sales reps there explained everything and helped with the decision making. They hired people to do the installation, which I wasn't pleased with. The installers messed up a lot and didn't do a very good job. There were a lot of spots on the floor that they chipped while moving furniture around. They were supposed to come back and seal them, and they never did. I ended up getting other people to do it. Also, the bamboo floor naturally has a lot of darker blackish marks on it, but there were two boxes of wood that had little to no black marks on them. It almost looks like it's a whole separate floor and random patches of the living room where they put it. It might have been nice if they mixed it up a little and not do all that wood in one or two patches where it looks like a different floor. I wouldn't recommend the installation team but the store did everything correctly.

I bought some bamboo flooring from the Lumber Liquidators store in Merrillville, Indiana for our bathroom. I was asking one of the male sales representatives some questions about a vent that one can have made to fit and he seemed impatient with me. He answered, "Well, you can only have this. And it takes this long." He seemed not very friendly about it even though I told him, "I'm a lay person. I don't understand. Can you explain to me why or how come it's $135?" He seemed frustrated with my questioning and he was rude to me. It was uncomfortable and I almost wanted to not buy the stuff. When I left the store, I apologized to him because I felt maybe I was being difficult. But then I thought back on it and I did not think that was really the case. To feel like I needed to apologize was odd for me. But he might have sort of apologized also after I apologized. I would have liked it if he had had more patience with me at the time.
When I went back, I purposely avoided the guy I met the first time and I went to someone else. And definitely, it was a much better experience. When I went to pick up the flooring, the guys who helped me were very nice, friendly, and easy-going. Then, the construction guy who was redoing my bathroom put the flooring in and I love the floor. If it was a lot less expensive or if I could afford it, I’d put it in my whole house. It was a very high quality bamboo and it looked good.

I went to LL because I was looking to have hardwood floors installed at a lower price than quoted by other companies. I picked a product that was $2.50 sq less than that product quoted by the other companies. With the risers and stair treads being cheaper also I thought I would be saving money on this project. That was not the case.
After paying for an home visit and measurement, which is free with all other companies, I find that LL has enormous charges for labor and delivery which far offset the savings in material. The delivery charge was outrageous > $300.00. I was told the flooring had to go to the 2nd floor for curing because of the "temperature difference". Since my house is my house is air conditioned that was ridiculous but I was being charged for the 2nd story storage. All of the labor and sundry charges put this job over the top and there was no savings in buying flooring at a reduced rate. I see this company as a bait and switch. A DIYer can buy flooring cheaper elsewhere and there are quality installers who charge less than LL.

We went to the Lumber Liquidators in Windsor Ontario. The installer (one person) showed up two days after he was suppose to and without the proper tools to do the job. He took 5 days to install in a 12x24 room. The floor was not installed properly. The floor is uneven, nails are coming back up through the flooring and in other places the floor boards are splitting.
After a lot of phone calls and emails they sent someone out, who cut some of the boards out and removed the underlay to glue the boards in place. We paid for the best underlay that they offered for sound reduction. The problems are continuing and we are finding more splits and nails and uneven flooring. Took a while because it's in out of the way places close to walls and not in walking areas. We have been in contact with the local store and head office. We have sent pictures of the problems because they won't come and look for themselves. We are still not receiving any help or correspondence. The best the local company offered was, "We might be able to come assess the situation in maybe two to three weeks".

After much ado I was finally contacted the following week and told my flooring was in stock. I swung by and picked it up. Because of scheduling the project was now a week behind and wouldn't be started for at least another week.
I just finished installing the flooring yesterday and before I even got to the end I realized I didn't have enough flooring. This is unacceptable. I had originally calculated it on their site and it said 14 boxes were needed. In store the salesman was adamant that it was only going to take 12. He said, "What the hell happened here?" He stated it was bad flooring that should have never happened. Now I'm trying to get someone from the company to come out and look at my living room floor. We purchased engineered bamboo flooring from Lumber Liquidators in Barrie Ontario in March and it was delivered in October. After a few weeks of acclimating the floor to the new house the floor was installed by one of Lumber Liquidators' installers (we hired him directly). Shortly after moving into our custom built new home at the end of November, the floor started to make crackling sounds when walked on. Lumber liquidators warranty department sent out an inspector who blamed the issue on “tight baseboards”.
When we tried to explain to Lumber Liquidators that our baseboards were installed raised and the floor was then installed with space to expand and the chair mold was laid just above the floor to cover the gap. Their response was to tell us to seek legal counsel and that they stood by the inspector's report. Ironically the inspector never asked or checked on how the baseboards were installed he just looked at them. So now we face an expensive lawsuit, or just have to replace the 2500 square feet of bamboo flooring in our brand new house. NEVER NEVER buy flooring from Lumber Liquidators!

I even had my kids help me with it because the new snap and stuff is so plug and play. The key was to have the flooring seasoned for a full two weeks at my house before it went in. However, the underlayment sold to me has a cellophane liner, and the cellophane has a zip-strip where you are able to line up the various rolls of the underlayment. That cellophane crackles under foot and it makes for a loud floor. It's been six months now since I put it in, and it's still crackling. Still, so far, so good. Buyer beware!!! I paid the $25.00 to have a LL installer evaluate my project in house. On the day of installation, the LL installer determined that the quote provided was not what would cost to install the flooring: originally the estimator had said that the flooring could be installed over the existing laminate flooring. After living with 39 cases of flooring for over a week and having cleared my entire living space, I was in no position NOT to pay the additional $700.00 demanded to begin the project. (Please note, when I received my credit card bill, I noted that I was charged $750.00!) The installer said that he would reschedule the job. I was in no position to have someone else remove the approximately 300 sf of laminate now required on the morning of finally getting this project or pay what he demanded. I had no choice but to pay the additional costs.
After speaking to someone at LL, I was informed that the actual cost of removing the existing laminate was ACTUALLY $1400.00 but that they would give me a "break" and ONLY charge me $700.00!!! The installer completed the job, was friendly, and did a pretty good job although when they left on the second day when the flooring was completed, they left without any attempt at any cleanup. Also, the estimator also ordered 4 cases of flooring and 20 pieces of quarter round and 2 pieces of bases board which were not needed and I was required to return to the store. The store manager refunded the overage of supplies but I had to bring to their attention that I had paid for installation and that also should be refunded for the materials returned.
The store manager acted as if this was the first time anyone had made this request and had to get permission from the regional manager to approve such a refund. It took numerous phone calls to obtain the refund for the labor and NUMEROUS phone calls to LL about the bait and trap situation about the laminate removal. On the morning of finally getting this project started, I was told that the installer charged $400.00 "dump fee" to discard less than 100 lbs of cheap laminate flooring and they refunded me only $349.00 of the disputed $750.00. I will NEVER use Lumber Liquidators again when I sell this house and purchase my next house.

After many hours of trying to find out what we were doing wrong, my husband who is very experienced with home improvement projects, realized that a notch in the corner of flooring had a piece of material that when it was cut at the manufacturer it was not cut out entirely. We have had to take every piece of wood (826 square feet) and cut the notch out by hand. I called Lumber Liquidators and after being transferred many times and being hold for a long time, my call was sent to someone’s voicemail and I left a message and have not received a return phone call. My purchasing experience with Lumber Liquidators was great. It was my second time purchasing from them and I like the price and the product they were offering. I got some hardwood flooring for the bedrooms and the quality is good. I installed them and it was pretty simple. It’s one of those Lego things that you put together. However, they should open up more locations, because there are not that many of them that are pretty close, so I have to drive a long way to get to them.

Our old floors were a little worn out so I wanted to update. I liked the advertising and the price of Lumber Liquidators. I bought wood floor products from them and I’m very satisfied with the product. It’s holding up very well. My son did the installation and I was surprised at how tight they locked in together when we interlocked them. Everyone from Lumber Liquidators was also very good, very professional, even the guys that loaded up the truck.

Lumber Liquidators was next to where I shop, so I just went across the street and purchased from there. I ordered wood planks for flooring and I was happy with the experience. I bought a new home and we redid the floors. I went to the Lumber Liquidators in Boardman, I walked around, found the floor that I wanted and then I bought it. I love the flooring. It’s great. I ended up buying the same floor for my parents’ house and put it in over there. I wouldn't send others to the Boardman store. They didn’t help when we went there and then they didn’t have the floor there and so it had to be picked up in Canton. And it was a huge inconvenience. I’d send them to Canton. They were much friendlier.

Some of the hardwood in our kitchen were damaged because of a water leak from the fridge and we eventually had to rip those out. We did some research and compared Lumber Liquidators to other stores and places that sell hardwood. They are competitive and they have a good quality product. In the end, we went to a total of two Lumber Liquidator stores just because the first time I went with my wife, we went to a store that was closer to our house. Then the second time, we went to a store that was closer to my work and it was a more convenient place to pick up.
The first time I was in the Waterbury store, there were already customers there and we were told that somebody would come and help us in a few minutes. One person was obviously a little bit better than the other but that is how the nature of these things work. Still, both people in the 2 stores were attentive, came over and asked us what we were interested in, and showed us the different options that they had. We bought some Gunstock Oak hardwood and it was our first time to purchase from them. They said it was what worked best for our budget so that part was good. And obviously, as with everything else, I wish it was a little bit cheaper but it wasn’t so prohibitive that we couldn’t get it done.
I have a handyman who installed and replaced the kitchen flooring. The new flooring is a little bit different in color, slightly minimally different than all the hardwood we had. It's good quality hardwood and unless you're looking at it really carefully, you can't tell the difference when you walk in the house. So, we had a positive enough experience that my parents who live in North Carolina are also thinking about installing hardwood and we recommended looking at Lumber Liquidators.

We have purchased new ceramic tile floors from Lumber Liquidators and had them delivered 10 days ago. The first issue we had was that when we got the call that the delivery was going to be made, we found out they would charge an additional $40 to actually bring it up the stairs into our house (5 stairs). If we were only 3 stairs there would be no issue. So, being we have already spent over $9k to have our hardwood floors removed, pay for the actual flooring and the installation we were annoyed and just decided to move them into the house ourselves.
One man brought the delivery and it was really a 4 man job (he was very nice and we helped as much as we could while he was there... And then we carried all the flooring up to our front porch where it now sits). But, no point in worrying as the delivery had been done so no need to linger on it. Next, we were to receive an installation call within 48 hours. It has now been 9 days. I have called the installation hotline twice and they left messages with the install company. Also, I called our actual local Liquidator shop (Lynchburg, VA) who said they would “send an email”.
Still nothing. $9k and now I am worried we made a horrible mistake. We are pretty accommodating people and have no problem being flexible on installation dates but are just sitting here. Waiting. It’s very frustrating. So, now I am trying to figure out next steps with regarding to finding another company to actually finish the job. I never post reviews about things like this but this involves 9 THOUSAND DOLLARS THAT WE WORKED HARD TO SAVE.

Lumber Liquidators is run pretty well and the sales reps I got did a good job. They were knowledgeable and they helped me get what I needed. I’d recommend Lumber Liquidators. I dealt with them once before and had a good experience, so we went back. And what was funny was we picked out the very same flooring that, about six years ago, we had put up in the second floor of our house. We didn’t do it on purpose. So, when we got it out of the box, we could see it was the same stuff.
The Lumber Liquidators reps were really helpful. We ended up with a situation where I ended up having to fire my contractor, and they jumped through all kinds of hoops to make sure that they were able to round up enough stuff out of the same run. They even had to have some shipped in from Amarillo. So, I was really pleased with the experience we had with those guys. We ended up doing the installation ourselves and because it started out as a glue-down flooring, it wasn’t all that difficult to put down.

We purchased hardwood for the first floor of our home and we’re quite pleased with it. We decided to go with Lumber Liquidator for two things – the wide selection and the very good pricing. We actually got a good deal, better than fair, and the cost was right in line with the quality. We also found the sales reps to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I’m located in Southeastern, PA, but when the representative looked online, he found that he didn’t have enough in stock for me. Then he suggested that if I go to Delaware, I could save the taxes, which was true, and it’s only about a 30-mile drive to get down there. We had a great experience with Lumber Liquidators. We did some work on our floors and Shawn at the store was so helpful. We were undecided between hardwood or laminate. We have kids that can mess up the floors so we wanted something that can last. Shawn was great in helping us find the right product. He even used a big hammer and tried to knock down the bamboo flooring. There was no dent so we definitely knew exactly what kind of product we wanted after that. Shawn also told us to think about it and go back to the store since there was going to be a sale - we happened to be there a couple of weeks earlier than the sale. He was not sure if the product was going to be there during the sale, but he was absolutely great in informing us as a consumer what product to buy and how to save cost so we really appreciated that.
We hired a contractor to put the flooring in and they did the house which is around 1,100 square footage. That was the estimated which was 10% more. We didn't end up using everything that we bought but a great thing about Lumber Liquidators was they took back what we didn't use or did not open. We were so happy. The flooring is great. I heard from the contractor that it was easy to install. There was no expansion so there were no gaps. It looks really nice. Everyone who came over afterwards loved it.

We purchased the Pioneer Leather Hickory in October 2018, picked it up at the store and transported to our house for it to set until the humidity level was correct. We then had it installed at the end of October. We have noticed that a section of the flooring is coming up and creating a uplifted crease. We contacted Lumber Liquidators in Virginia Beach, VA where the flooring was purchased. They sent a rep down to look at the floor and we haven't heard back from them.
We have placed multiple calls regarding getting the floor fixed and now we are hearing it is our fault due to humidity in the house (there is none) and they told us to get a dehumidifier. Well how is that going to solve the problem of a bad install? We love the floor! But this company is ridiculously telling us the bad install is our problem. I am fed up!!! We paid almost $8000 for the floor only to have to pay more money and have someone else fix it probably nulling the warranty!!! I am beyond frustrated and Pissed off!
So after the rep came to look at the floor the contractor who installed the flooring called Agnes. This is how the humidity conversion came into play. Without seeing the floor he said because we have a crawl space, the humidity from there is what's causing the floor to come up. This coming from the same contractor who sent his best crew for the install. The best crew turned out to be one man! Then the next day he brought a buddy to help him and this is the day our finishing nailer went missing. My husband said to forget it, that we would never see that nailer again, but enough is enough with these people. Again still waiting for Lumber Liquidators to do something!

I am sitting here writing this review 6 weeks after I picked up the flooring from the local store. And still it has not been installed!!! The "so called" professional installer came to my house and did the estimate. I thought it was a little on the high side, but I was booked solid every weekend and just didn't have the time to do it myself. So we set an install date. He called and cancelled the day before... Said he had another job to do and may not be able to get it done that day... So we set it up for the next week. My wife stayed home all day waiting... No installer... No call. I left him a voicemail. He did call me back late that afternoon. His excuse???... He forgot!!! Real pro here! So now, he shows up for the 3rd appointment. He rips up 3 places in my kitchen (about 1-2 hours) and calls me up and says he isn't allowed by law to finish the job. Really???
My house was built in the 1950s and had the 9 X 9 asbestos tiles in the kitchen. The installer told me that I had to get an abatement done and then I could call him back. I asked him for any advice... Who could I get? How does this work? He said he didn't know and couldn't help me. And he just left the mess and got in his truck and left!!! So I worked on it yesterday and it took me 5 hours to fix the mess that this professional installer made. Basically, just had to set the saw on 1/4 inch and cut out the vinyl flooring that had been installed on top...then had to cut out and put in new sub flooring and feather edge everything. Laid about half of the flooring in... I will probably get time to finish it next week I hope.
The local Lumber Liquidators store was good. They refunded the installation cost. I still am out the cost of a 12 inch carbide tip saw blade...a bucket of Flash compound and Luan (about 150 bucks) to fix the mess that he left. I just can't understand how a national company like this can let this kind of stuff happen??? In my case, I am lucky that I have family who are contracting and I work in the construction industry as well. I would never want to treat any customer like this.Really disappointed with Lumber Liquidators at this point... Sure it is going to cost me extra money to get it done. My main complaint was the extra time and labor (My Labor!!!). So as of right now, I will spread the word to stay away from this company. I have learned my lesson.

When we’re loading up. there’s a ramp there that you go up that’s not friendly at all. It’s narrow and it’s just not right especially in the winter time when it’s snowy. Other than that, I’ve never had a problem with them. I bought hardwood flooring and some tools from them six months ago and it was a fine experience.

Product was purchased in Arden NC. Store employees were helpful and we found what we needed 3/4 x 5 Bellawood. Product was delivered in a timely manner and was just what we had asked for. We also paid Lumber Liquidators to have an estimator come to the house and review what was needed for the job. His job was to source how much product and how it would be installed for the job, he also is reasonable for all transition pieces and base molding. He arrived 1/2 late, we discussed how we wanted the job done and he said that would be fine. He took the measurements and left.
THE INSTALL: Lumber Liquidators makes you pay for the install when you purchase the product before the job is even started. (Just an FYI) I have never heard of this but it is their policy. They also must not have their own installers as it was a different company that contacted me after the install was complete. The installers showed up and right off stated the floor could not be installed as the estimator had said. After 45 min of phone calls to their boss the work began.
Now is where the fun started. Our home had just been freshly painted both trim and walls, all baseboard had been removed and all furniture was moved to the garage. They had a clean open slate to work with. First problem we had was they wanted to put quarter round on all walls. I said no that is why we purchased all new baseboard. I tried to watch the job as it continued but I did not wish to get in the way either. What I saw was installers working very hard but you could also tell they were careless. They would take full boxes of flooring and carry them to an area and just drop them I did not like this at all. They also did damage to the home in many areas as I had listed below.
Handprints and grease on walls, doors and refrigerator. Corners of walls damaged from air hoses or cords? Fresh painted home with gouges in the walls and trim. Baseboard not installed vertical with the wall trim. Baseboard cuts were poor and do not match up. Caulking left on areas of the floor and our newly painted walls. Sawdust all over our furniture stored in the garage (saw was set outside the garage). Large amount of baseboard needed for the job left over, must return
I communicated this with pictures to the follow up person from the install company and the response was they would talk to the install group. I also communicated this to the manager of the store we purchased the wood from. He thanked me for the information and said he would talk with the installers. My wife and I spent the following weekend repainting walls and trim, spackling and repainting walls that had gouges in them, cleaning calking from the floor and areas on the wall and lastly vacuuming and wiping down all of furniture we so kindly moved out of the way for the install.
Oh also left out cleaning the garage from all the sawdust that did not make it onto the furniture. I did receive a call some days later stating they would send out a cleaning crew for the furniture. I declined as it was already done. I also could call and request to have them out to correct the baseboard problems, Not sure if they would but I think I will fix it myself. In closing if you do use the installers you do have a 1 year warranty on the install. Expect nothing more than average to below average work and also expect damage to your home with little to no recourse.

Lumber Liquidators sells their own brand of stuff which is very well reviewed. I got bamboo flooring from them, and their sales reps knew what they were talking about and they helped me with any questions that I had. I'm doing the self-install and once you get used to it, it's not difficult. I had some initial learning curve and we made some mistakes from our install. But over the long run, those are correctable and I have more to install, and it will be done better and correctly the next time. I watched YouTube videos throughout the install, and then I had questions about how I was supposed to handle stuff, and they would recommend a gap. I used the stuff that they told me I should use, and it ended up being almost too much, but then the flooring have had dried out a little more because we didn’t have it properly acclimated.
I'm pretty happy with the quality of the flooring. The product is pretty straightforward. You get what you pay for, and there wasn’t any problem. If I didn’t like the product, I could just go back to them and they would give me any more products that I demand. If I have some messed up boxes, I'm pretty confident that they would take care of me in that regard.

We got engineered hardwood and engineered vinyl then we did self-install. It was very simple working with the products. Also, the flooring has been holding up well so far. The cost is also a good value, slightly less than some of the hardware stores that we looked at, but I see the difference in the quality as far as the mil thickness. My son had gotten flooring at Lumber Liquidators before and he was happy with them, so I went with them. The sales guys were very helpful in picking out my flooring and I got bamboo plank flooring. They called me when it was in, they loaded my truck, and I picked it up. I had some returns and they unloaded the returns for me. They did what they said they were gonna do. My brother who has been a carpenter his whole life was gonna install it and he has installed lots of wood flooring but he really struggled. They sold us this adhesive and they said it was the best adhesive. And that’s the way to go on concrete because the adhesive becomes a vapor barrier when it dries. My brother had a horrible time putting the flooring down. He said he would never do it on concrete again. He hated the adhesive but I think that’s because it’s adhesive on concrete. As he was putting the flooring in, it didn’t stay put. He had a rough time with that.
I love the plank flooring. They told me that bamboo is better because it is better with water and it is good with water, like in the kitchen. They also warned me that it scratches more easily and it does scratch easily. It’s a little more easily than I realized. So, I have to be careful. Also, the edges where the two boards come together is not completely flat. They kind of popped up a little. It’s weird because the front half of the room, fortunately, didn’t buckle. I’m glad because it's not buckled when you walked in the door and you have the big open living room-dining room-kitchen but the bedrooms and the hallway are buckled. Other than those, I would recommend Lumber Liquidators because they were helpful. I had a good experience actually dealing with them.

First off, I want to state quite openly that the narrative below does not reflect poorly toward our local (Harrisburg PA) Lumber Liquidators store or their merchandise. We had purchased and already installed the same material in two other rooms in our home and our experience with the store has always been excellent; as well as the quality of the flooring we purchased. This also is NOT a negative review of the local subcontractor used by our store to install the flooring.
This narrative is centered around poor Corporate policies regarding the 'Professional Installation' offered by each store. Corporate policies have our store and 4 others handled by a single Subcontractor, who, by the way, ultimately did install our flooring after he recovered from being out sick with a fairly major illness. We visited the store in late November to purchase enough flooring to complete our house, about another 800 sq feet. We had asked for installation services because our schedules had become far too complicated to do it ourselves.
Originally, we suggested waiting until after January 1, however, the store informed us that they were scheduled far out into Late February or Early March. However, we were told it could get done in the next few weeks, before Christmas. We were given a tentative date between December 8 and December 15, 2018. It took their installer a few days to come out to take measurements and he then told us that our tentative date would not be met. We received the new date of December 19-20. This was still before Christmas, so we were ok with that.
The weekend before, we spent removing carpeting and moving some large items (china, china cabinet and dining room table and a few others) to storage to better facilitate the installation, and truthfully, the dining room was needed for the 40+ boxes of flooring, and related material (quarter round, transition strips, glue, etc) that we had to pick up and transport back prior to installation to allow them to acclimate to our home. On the 19th, we received a call that the crew was down sick and we were being pushed off until the 20th. We certainly understand being ill and had no issues with a delay, especially since the installer planned to use a larger team and complete the install in a single day.
On the 20th, we were told that they were still sick and needed antibiotics before they could come back to work, but that they would still come out with enough team members to do our installation on Saturday, December 22, 2018. Saturday the 22nd came and we were called and told that the installation was going to be pushed until December 26th - the day after Christmas. We then had to scramble to change our venue for Christmas Dinner with our family, as we had nowhere to eat in our house, due to the fact that our table had been moved to storage. We phoned the store and were provided with the contact information for The Regional Sales and Service Manager Jim **. He took it upon himself to schedule a different team from 2 hours away (and who were also unfamiliar with our area) to come and do the installation on December 26.
On the 26th, we prepped for them by moving some easily moveable items out of the way and waited for their arrival. We assumed they would not get to our house until around 10 am ET considering that they were 2 hours away. After not seeing or even hearing from them, around 10:30 am we contacted their office and their office manager tried calling the team several times, but they were not answering their phone. We called the Regional Sales and Services Manager, who didn't have any other options for us. My wife then called the original installer herself to see if he would be able to do the work, and he indicated that he could so she made sure to call our local store, as well as contact the Regional Sales and Services Manager to let him know that she did his job for him and had contacted the original installer for the store to do the work.
At the end of the day, we were compensated $500 off of our total cost, of which $250 was in merchandise refunded to the store credit and the other $250 came in the form of a check from the installer. This penalized the installer for problems which were out of his control, which is totally unacceptable. They were highly professional, courteous, and did excellent work on the installation. Our key takeaways from this experience. The installer used by our store is shared by 3 other stores within roughly an hour of Harrisburg, PA - York, Lancaster, and Reading. While this may work for sales volume, it creates some havoc when trying to fit clients in, especially when there are unavoidable delays.
When an installer has to cancel or postpone for whatever reason, there does not appear to be a reliable contingency plan in place to allow for multiple installers in a given area to be able to be contacted to see if the promised dates could be met, until you contact and complain to the Regional Sales and Services Manager. Even then, all he did was find an unreliable team in a completely different geographical locale. The Store did not have any control over this, unfortunately. They had to defer to the Regional Sales and Services Manager per policy. Our store team was very professional and courteous and highly sympathetic to our plight, I cannot speak any more highly of them.
Per Corporate Policy, the installation Subcontractor was penalized for issues out of their control which is unprofessional behavior by Lumber Liquidators and is unacceptable. Any compensation back for issues arising during an installation beyond the control of the installation subcontractor should come directly from Lumber Liquidators and not from the subcontractor in an instance where a delay is unavoidable.

We got bamboo floors from Lumber Liquidators. They're wide plank bamboo and they're like 7-inch wide. The sales rep that I had was really nice. It all went south on the delivery part. There was a lot of damaged floor. Lumber Liquidators need either their own delivery people, so somebody whose trustworthy, not just Joe Blow delivering stuff. Their managers need to have more customer service training, as well.
But the quality of the flooring is nice. It looks good, there are certain spots where it’s coming apart a little bit though. And it’s not from weather or from the installation, ‘cause it was one of their installers that put it in for me. Hopefully, it will settle itself down. Also, the tongue and groove were a little big. So, when you're installing it, a lot of the pieces broke, like when you are trying to slide it together before we nailed it in. But Lumber Liquidators replaced the damaged ones.

We installed floating floors throughout our home and started having the top layer of coating come off the floors. I contacted Lumber Liquidators and they did nothing to help stating that because I didn’t have central air (temperature control) and because I use a steamer which I have used on all my hardwood and have never had an issue. This is absolutely ridiculous that a company would use central air and a steamer as their excuse for their poorly manufactured product. I will never be using this company again and would not recommend them to family or friends.

I bought a bloodwood, which is an exotic hardwood by Bellawood, from Lumber Liquidators and their best underlay pad. I’ve dealt with Christopher and he was super. I had looked shortly after we moved here, but we couldn't put out the money yet for the bloodwood, and I didn’t wanna settle for something else. So, any time it came on sale, whether it be 50 cents off a square foot or a dollar off, he would call and let me know. He gave me the estimates on how much it would cost to get the flooring and to put it in, and explained all my options with having the contractor take everything out of the room, or we could do it, and the cost difference that that would make.
Christopher was super friendly and when we would go in the store, he would always remember who I was, so that was nice. It was super easy to set up the installation schedule. Lumber Liquidators called, but we weren’t ready to do it yet, so the rep just kept checking back with me, and I set it up. And then they explained all the ins and outs.

The sales reps at Lumber Liquidators were great, super helpful, and they knew what they were talking about. I knew what I needed, and then they helped me load the hardwood flooring on my truck, so it was nice. I’m a professional carpenter and I installed the flooring myself. The only issue that I have with some of Lumber Liquidators' products is that there’s snipe on the tongue side of the flooring, which would last about two or three inches of the board. So you have a small gap in between the boards. I had a house before that I put in maple flooring and it was the same deal. That’s kind of a turnoff because dirt or water could fall down in there, and then that destroys the floor from the back side. Besides that, the quality of the flooring is great. It has a nice, hard finish, and it's easy to install.

I bought some flooring from Lumber Liquidators as I liked the product better. I could have bought something cheaper from a different location, but they had a better warranty. They talked me into buying more than what I needed, and when I tried to bring back some material, they were complaining about not taking it back since their policy is not to take it back after so many days. The problem was that I was waiting on a particular product from them to finish up what I was doing in order to know how much material I needed to return back. I couldn’t get the job finished ‘cause I was waiting on something I had ordered from them, so it wasn’t my fault. Also, back when there was a lot of rain going on, I had to put the pallets on a trailer so they wouldn't get wet. I had to wait for a time when it wasn’t raining so I could take it back. I had to negotiate with the guy at the counter about it and we got it worked out.

I've dealt with Lumber Liquidators several times, putting flooring in other houses, and I've always found them to be easy to deal with. This time, I was redoing my kitchen. I had two to get all the flooring I needed and I called ahead to see if they had exactly what I wanted. The representative said he had it in stock but when I got to the store in Encino with my contractor, whom I was paying for his time, it wasn't the item that I wanted. Their inventory management was not great because they didn't actually have it in stock. So we picked up what we could and it was a big waste of my contractor's paid time. I even called ahead twice to make sure that they had what I wanted in stock. So you can do all the right things and still, it may not be right.
Then I had to source the rest from a different location in Newhall, Santa Clarita, which was a lot more efficiently-ran. It's really store by store with Lumber Liquidators. It depends on how good the manager of one particular location is. That one experience at the Encino store was really annoying. But I would always recommend Lumber Liquidators because they have good prices and this particular deal of oak flooring can’t be beat. I got the utility grade that has knots in it. It's really the cheapest product of Lumber Liquidators but it's heavy, sturdy and beautiful. It's oak through and through.
It's super hard and durable, and it looks very authentic and lovely. It looks like it's been there forever. So it's great. It has a very rustic look. It's 3/4 oak and you have to nail it in board by board so it takes a little bit of artistry. Then you have to sand it down and stain it. I found it easy to install because I've worked with this particular flooring before. I've always liked it.

We purchased Morning Star engineered bamboo in October! It's now 2 days before 2019 and we are still waiting for the floors we have already started paying for. We financed for 24 months interest free and now they say it could be another month. Originally it was sometime in Dec, then late Dec/early Jan, then Jan 19th, now sometime within the next 30 days. They explained in the store we could install this ourselves and that it needed to be glued. The more I read, the more concerned I am about the quality of the floors, bucking, spacing, etc.
I keep explaining that we have to take off work, remove existing hardwood and carpet and prep for the arrival but I cannot for the life of me get a firm date! Someone at the store (Alpharetta, GA) told my husband some time ago that he could potentially get some of his buddy's order out of a Texas store but we never heard back on that either. Our previous experience with LL was fine (Tallahassee, FL) but we may end up just cancelling the entire order ($5k) because of the lack of communication and uncertainty.

I purchased ebony engineered wood floor from Lumber Liquidators and the quality is great. A previous client had purchased the same material and it looked really good installed so we went with that same material. My company installed it and it was easy to work with. It went down fast and it looked good. I would use Lumber Liquidators again. But I would never go to the Stephanie store again because nobody there was ever knowledgeable. It seemed like they hired some idiot kids to work and have no idea what they’re doing.
I spoke to a gentleman on the phone initially and ordered the material. But I guess there was a problem with their computer system so I had to leave a payment method there. The lead time was only supposed to be a few days. But a few days went by so I called. I asked whether anybody had ordered the material but they said they didn't have any orders in their system. So they basically forgot to order it. I told them I needed to put the order in but they said the gentleman was not there. So I went through the whole process again. But when I went to go order it, they said I couldn't order over the phone and that I had to go in with the payment.
So I had to go there and put in the payment. But they didn’t order enough of the stair noses so when I got the order, I called them and said we were short on the stair noses. They said they could order some more. I asked if they could check and see if they or any of the other stores had something that was similar in stock. I told them it didn't have to be exactly the same. The guy I was dealing with told me he would give the other store a call and then call me right back but I never heard anything. So then I called back the next day. They went to find out what happened and then the same guy got on the phone. He was like, “Hey, sorry. I got wrapped up. I forgot to call you back." He said he had called the other place but they didn't have anything in stock. So I told him to order what I needed.
They were able to order the stair noses over the phone but when I called back a few days later, when the material was supposed to be there, they said the material never got ordered. So then they put the other guy on the phone again and he said, “Oh, I didn’t think that you wanted it.” And I was like, “What do you mean you don’t think I wanted it?" I had told him to order it and he had said he had a card on file that he could do it with. He was like, “Oh, no. We can’t order material over the phone.” I was like, “You have got to be ** me.” So I hung up. I was done with the Stephanie store. Those guys were incompetent.
I called another store which was the store that he was supposed to call to see if they had the stair noses in stock. They ended up having it in stock. They told me to just go and pick it up. So after a week of back and forth, and my project being delayed because of it, this other store had the material in stock the entire time. The lady said they hear this a lot about that store and she gave me a little wood floor cleaning bottle as a condolence.

We looked around the Lumber Liquidators shop and the reps showed us a bunch of options, and then we decided to go with a natural raw wood. It’s regular, real, one-inch thick red oak. We prebuilt the wood and stained them at our own house, then put them in. We nailed each plank in and the other stuff were the click-in stuff that I did before. I purchased a Morning Star Strand Bamboo flooring from Lumber liquidators three years ago. We aired out the bamboo for several weeks in the space before installation. Even longer than the recommended time. Our installer followed all instructions given. Soon after installation, cracks began to appear in the flooring. The installer decided more spacers must be needed. He installed several. The cracks continued to worsen, appearing all throughout the floor. It pulled away from all the walls, the spacers bowed and pulled apart leaving gaping holes. After having the floors repaired four or five times with absolutely no resolve, we filed a complaint with Lumber Liquidators. They informed us that it was due to moisture levels in our house and gave us a $500 credit. This did nothing and the cracks continue.
Then we found out that there is a national lawsuit throughout the United States and that the flooring itself is actually defective. Lumber Liquidators knew this at the time of our complaint and still refused to acknowledge that the floors need replacing. They have not stood behind their product in any way nor have they made any effort to correct the problem for us. To this moment, we have cracks all over our flooring. Lawsuit states MS strand Bamboo flooring is unable to withstand typical ambient moisture variations causing the product to shrink, warp and swell. This is exactly what has happened to my floor. They sent out a what they called a 3rd party inspector. The fact is they hire and pay them so of course they will write the report in their favor. Otherwise they won't send them anymore work and move onto an inspector that will write in their favor.
The invoice clearly states a 30 year warranty and after only a few months my floor started to warp. They said there is nothing wrong with their product which is completely untrue. They also said that the expansion cracks were not a 1/2 wide. In order to check this the inspector would have to pull the corner round off which he never did. So they flat out lied to me and provided not one single photo of evidence. They are a shady company and are only trying to cover their hides because if the inspector writes negative reports. Then it will cost them thousands of dollars. I will be hiring my own inspector to get an accurate report. STAY AWAY FROM THEIR PRODUCT. IT IS CHINESE GARBAGE AND WILL NOT LAST 30 years LET ALONE A FEW MONTHS.

I called the store and another salesman told me my salesman may have mistakenly assumed that the flooring and other products were in a warehouse somewhere in stock. The salesman then said he had other customers (that hadn't paid thousands of dollars yet) that he had to help and asked if he could call me back in a little while. I said sure. He never called back. My husband did the installation, and there were some boards that were twice as wide than some of the other ones, but that was minimal so it was fine. So far, I love the flooring. We also have a massive Great Dane and I noticed the other day that she would scratch parts, but the flooring seems to be holding up pretty well with her.

Lumber Liquidators is a relatively local store here, and I happened to stop in and looked at their products and talked with their salespeople there. They were very informative and very helpful, and it was a great experience. We also checked around for price and Lumber Liquidators' price was very good. We bought some flooring and some tongue and groove pine interior walls. Their reps went way out of their way to help me load the materials, and we bought quite a bit. They were very nice people to deal with. We’re very happy with the quality of our new flooring. Everybody that sees the finish product is impressed with it also. We're very well satisfied with Lumber Liquidators.

The brief experience we had with LL was enough to last us a lifetime. It was West Palm Beach store on Shawnee and the two that we dealt with are Sarah and Julia. Not only did we get conflicting statements and very few returned phone calls. The good customer service was non-existent. We purchased the product in Lincoln Nebraska and they filled the order in West Palm Beach Florida. They sent out an installer to give us a bid on what it would cost to install. We agreed with the price and signed the contract. Upon arriving in Florida the installers were scheduled to start on Friday November 16th. They took one look and started jacking up the prices.
We called the store and they talked to the installer back and forth back and forth back and forth. After several phone calls from us to the store and them not returning phone calls over time and time again we finally called one last time to let them know that I was going to dispute the charges as we were not getting anywhere with them and their installers leaving us high and dry. Without any word from them they refunded the full amount except for a high-priced delivery charge of $235.
After reading all these reviews, I am so glad that we did not go with Lumber Liquidators for the install. Maybe it's just Floridians. The people treated us very well in Lincoln Nebraska that sold us the product. I don't know how they stay in business treating customers with rudeness and poor installations and installers that don't know what they're doing and immediately start jacking up the price when they come to install. Bad deal all the way around but we have learned our lesson and never will darken Lumber Liquidators. Sarah and Julie need customer service training.

Years ago, we purchased some flooring from Lumber Liquidators in Pennsylvania on a home that we purchased and had been remodeling. This time, we chose Lumber Liquidators for the price. My husband did his research and the representatives answered any of our questions. They were very helpful. They even helped us load it onto our truck. So that was good. Then at one point after we installed, we needed some extra pieces of trim and they ordered it and got it in quickly. Everything was good.
We chose a bamboo flooring and we also bought their own nail gun that they sell there. It‘s a second home for us and my husband is the contractor. He is excellent in installing and he did it himself. It’s now been a few months and right now, it looks absolutely beautiful. The wood was gorgeous. Hopefully, nothing occurs in the future where it warps or anything like that. But at this point, we’re very satisfied. We got very nice wood at a very reasonable price.

We purchased 1300 feet of Morning Star Bamboo From Lumber Liquidators. Also paid for them to install. Paid 9600.00 dollars for everything. About ten months later our floors are awful, buckled and cupped out. Suppose to have a one year warranty on installation. When I contacted them they insisted that it was because of the installation and informed me I should have read the installation instructions until I informed them their people install it. They very quickly change to it was a moisture problem. This is their way of trying to get out of their warranty. I tried to get some answers by calling them. They would always say we would talk to the installer and send him out to check out the floor.
Finally he called me and said he would be out the next morning by 8:30 at 9:30. I called lumber liquidators. They would not answer the phone. About 5 minutes later I get a call from the installer saying he was running late (he was not coming if I had not called). He finally showed up to check out the floor. Before he left he said I would not be surprised if we don't get a new floor. Next I have to send a bunch of photos and file a claim.
After all this they inform me they were going send a third party inspector out to look at my floors. He came out and after just a few minutes he told me that there was several installation problems along with some moisture problems. He said the bamboo should never been install. He ask me didn't they talk to me about this. I told him they (Lumber Liquidators and the installer) never checked the moisture content. I was with them the whole time they were here. If they had told me I would not have installed the bamboo. After all this they informed me that the installer would come out and fix my floor. I talk to the installer on Thursday. He said he would go by the store and get some bamboo and would be out the following week to allow the bamboo to be aculating. This has been 4 weeks Ago and I still have not heard back from him.
I called customer care at Lumber Liquidators and was told by my claim person that this had been way too long and she was going to talk to her supervisor that day and would call me back. It has been over a week and I still have not heard back from them. This flooring problem has been going on for about 4 months. I have buckled and cup out floors I have broken molding two of my doors will not open. It is a problem where if we had a fire in the house my daughter might not be able to get out and they know this and they don't care. Please stay away from Lumber Liquidators. Also if you have problems and can't believe that this is true go to Morning Star Bamboo website and read the reviews on their site there are thousands of cases just like mine. Please spread the word and make them start caring about their customers.

We purchased a slight distressed strained bamboo floor from Lumber Liquidators. We liked the price and the sales representative was helpful. He did everything we needed him to do and then some. The only time that he didn't help me out was when he was in the store by himself. He did very well being by himself but they were very busy for there to only be one sales rep there. Otherwise, it was a good experience. The pick up was also fine. Our order came in early so we got to go get it a few days early. But it was absurd that we had to go half a mile all the way around the building to get back to your vehicle. You can't go through the building. They said it was safety reasons but that was very frustrating.
I had the flooring installed in six rooms and a hallway in less than a week. The only complaint we really have with the product is if anything get spilled on it, you pretty much have to mop the entire floor. Otherwise, you can see where something has spilled even after you've cleaned it up with a dry towel and then water. It leaves like a film. That part of the floor would be shiny and the rest of it kinda dull. And it is supposed to be a dull look. Also, it scratches a little easier than we saw. But it still doesn't scratch near as bad as actual hardwood and other than those, It's a decent flooring.

We had our re-modeler install it and the only thing they commented on, because they were having to kludge it with the tile floor in the bathroom next to it, was that it was wider than some standard hardwood. They had a problem with getting it to fit right. Other than that, the flooring is nice-looking. We chose it because of its hardiness and we wanted it to last. Overall, we had a good experience, the price was good, and it looks good.

Although buying the product was easy, the installation service was a failure. The estimator and installers failed to account for the height factor between the new floor and the tile entrance way to the room. Subsequently they left a one inch difference between floor heights and the transition strips installed left a significant trip/Safety Hazard. It looks like the dining room floor has dropped. The worst part is the lack and failure of response to my requests for resolution from Lumber Liquidators (customer care/store/ installer management, etc). I have made numerous requests for them to fix to the Safety Hazard but to no avail. E-mail and phone calls get the same non-response. Finger pointing at responsibility to respond to my request for results is a merry-go-round within the LL organization. It is apparent that their Customer /Consumer care and Warranty is of no value. We're two women and we were able to install it ourselves, so that's saying a lot. Also, the flooring has good quality for the money that we purchased it for. But I wouldn't get the product again. It warped badly with water and it has been less than a year since we got it. So, we're unhappy about that. We would have to rip everything up and reinstall it.

It just goes together as click-lock and in some parts, it feels like it's not attaching very well. So, I had to nail it up to make it more secure and more tied to the floor. Other than that, the floor is looking good so far and the color is great. The cost was not bad, too, although it was a little expensive because it's bamboo quality.

I was skeptical however, my experience was exceptional from knowledgeable and friendly staff to rapid delivery of product and return of unused glue, vapor barrier and unused flooring. Based on reviews I anticipated 10% waste due to cracked tongues, warped and stained boards. Our waste was about 3% and other than two of forty-four boxes that contained a preponderance of short boards, I was very pleased with the lumber. However, the second time, it was questionable. Their manager called me up and I thought he was kinda rude. I had doctor's appointments so I didn't pick up the flooring as quick as he thought I ought to.
I told him that the flooring was paid for and I asked what the problem was. He said, "Well, we don’t get no credit for this till it’s out of the building.” Though the employees at their location were really nice, that guy was insistent that I get my flooring picked up. However, my illusion with Lumber Liquidators was if I went there, I would be in a big store with all kinds of lumber. But there were just all these samples, and they had to order anything I wanted so I was not able to get it the day I went there. It was a 45-minute ride to the store, thinking I was gonna get the lumber but I didn't. I was back to driving 45 minutes and then a week later, drove back to get it. Also the second time I went there, the guy loaded my truck up with his forklift. When I got home, a couple of the boxes were damaged so maybe the corner of the forklift hit it.
I bought two different floorings. One was wider than the other one and one interlocked the front. I like the one better than the other. One was easier to work with than the other one. I’ve put the glue down and one didn’t fit as tight as I wanted it to. The seam was wider. It didn’t fit snuggly. But the other one fit much better when it’s snapped in. The quality of their product was good. I’m fixing up a different house and I might put another laminate down. I was happy with what I got.

Bought Morning Star Bamboo in January 2013. LL arranged for it to be installed. Every year the buckling, tenting problem arises. It was not installed properly by their contractor. I had to have the floor relayed in 2017 because of severe buckling & tenting. The contractor I had do the work said whoever installed the floor from LL did not put down a moisture barrier, and did not leave enough room around the perimeter for expansion. He said bamboo needs more expansion space compared to regular hardwood floors.
This week I spoke to LL customer relations and they said it was not their problem since the product is not defective? They lay the blame on who installed it. My point is that LL arranged for the contractor to install it, and they are negligent in arranging for a contractor who performed the inferior work. Next step is small claims court.

We hired Great Lakes Contractors, to replace the flooring in our kitchen and front room. We stressed we needed very sturdy flooring, because we had 3 active teenagers, and 3 multi-sized dogs. Our contractors highly recommended vinyl flooring, as it was very rugged, and had a 10 yr warranty - so that's what we purchased.
Last October, our beautiful new vinyl flooring from Lumber Liquidators was laid. Unfortunately, our bliss was short lived. In less than six months, the vinyl flooring began developing cracks in the middle of the boards. At first it was the area between the stove and sink. Then tears developed in the hall, then in front of the fridge, and eventually in the front room. Tears ranged from 1"-4" in length over joists, to star-shaped tears from something poking up from underneath, and also a 1/4" deep gash that was close to 5" long from something that fell on the floor.
We first contacted GLC about this obviously defective vinyl flooring in June. They in turn, have been communicating with Lumber Liquidators. Lumber Liquidators, gives a wonderful 10-year warranty. Unfortunately, they manipulate their way out of honoring it, by trying to blame the customer for the issues. According to Lumber Liquidators, the cracks, gash, and poke-holes are NOT caused by defective flooring, but because we're not cleaning the floor properly. (Hhhmm... after 50 yrs of cleaning floors, without ever ruining any of them, LL is saying that this "RUGGED" vinyl floor is disintegrating because of the way we are caring for it. Not likely.) Next, Lumber Liquidators asked that samples of the vinyl flooring be sent to them for testing. 2 workmen from GLC came and pulled-up a 4'x2' section and expedited to LL.
Now, Lumber Liquidators claims that the problem isn't defective vinyl, but that it is structural - caused by what the vinyl was laid over. NOTE: there is NO underlayment or sub-floor below the vinyl flooring. WHY? Because Lumber Liquidators specified that NO sub-flooring or underlayment was needed for this vinyl flooring.
So... we have a 1-year old defective vinyl floor, while Lumber Liquidators refuses to honor its 10-year warranty, accept responsibility for their obviously defective vinyl floor, and replace it at their own cost. Lumber Liquidators, you may make some money by scamming people, but it eventually will catch-up with you, and you will topple. Do you remember the adage, "the bigger they are, the harder they fall"?

I fell in love with the porcelain tile that looks like wood flooring that I saw on Lumber Liquidators' website. I chose the color Brazilian Ebony. I brought the picture to the store and bought that tile and said I wanted that matching grout. I had my contractors install the tile and loved it. While one installer was installing the tile on the second floor and office, I was told not to walk on the tile until it was dry. In the meantime the other contractor was grouting the downstairs installed dried tile.
Not until a few hours later was I able to walk on the tile on the second floor and go downstairs to see that the grout in the living room and dining room was the wrong color. it was too light, not like the picture I showed the salesman I had bought the tile and grout of whose expertise I had relied on. I tried calling LL and they were already closed. I called the next day first thing in the morning and reached corporate office since the phone line was down at the local LL store. I explained what had happened to a Customer Care Representative named Joelle. She asked me to send pictures, which I did to her email.
The pictures clearly showed that the grouted tile did not match the picture of the finished flooring I had showed the salesman who I had relied on to get my order right when I originally purchased the tile and grout. In the meantime my contractor told me to remove the wrong grout would cost $600 cash! When Joelle from LL called me back I told her of this fact. She said it was my responsibility to have noticed that the grout was the wrong color. I told her that I was stuck in my bedroom while the tiles were drying outside my bedroom, and that the grout was laid in 45 minutes. By the time I was able to walk on the tile and go downstairs to see that I was sold the wrong grout, it was too late! She said she could reimburse me the cost of the grout.
That's not going to cover the $600 to remove the wrong grout that I was wrongly sold. She said as good faith she would also credit my Visa card back $200. Not $600. Where is the $400 going to come from. It is their Lumber Liquidators error not mine nor my contractor. Why should I be out $400? Judging from the other reviews, Lumber Liquidators finds ways out of warranties. Joelle also told me that my tile was laid wrong, and is not under the 50 year warranty as I was lead to believe and was one of the reasons for spending over $2,200.00 on this investment. Very disappointed and would not recommend. Still seeking satisfaction. Asked to speak to a supervisor and a Sandra called me back and would not offer any more than Joelle would. I will go to all avenues of complaints until I receive full restitution.

We are doing a Complete kitchen remodel that included replacing a tile floor with hardwood floor. Once the tile floor was removed I asked the sale people on 2 occasions to send someone out to look at the floor because the floor was not level. I was assured that there would not be a problem and the installers would handle the situation. The install was set (took forever and multiple calls to get and install date) and advised it would take 2 days. Installer shows up and advisers the floor need to be leveled for an additional cost and adding 2 additional days to the installation process... Added cost $1700... We had no choice but to continue the project. If the sales team had followed up as originally requested I could have had the floor leveled in advance and there would have been no problem. Buyer BEWARE... Insist on follow up. Don’t trust their judgment of the situation. This was the Redford Store on Inkster Road.

The Modesto CA store arranged to come out and have my house measured. We were told they would contact us shortly with how much it would cost. We never heard another word from them. 3 weeks go by, and we were forced to go to a competitor for our flooring. Fast forward a month and I get a 3rd party collections notice from your store billing me for services I never received!
After calling them, they referred me to Kyler who confirmed that they had the wrong number written down. Mind you I didn't get one email, or one piece of mail from your company. He PROMISED me that he would reverse the entire balance due to their screw up, and my credit would be updated. I just got a bill from your company demanding payment for 41.00! Is this how your company operates? I will never trust this company for anything needed for my home, nor will my friends and family after this. This is very shady business practices, and buyers should stay away from this place!

A customer care representative call me and was able refund the two unopened bundle of flooring that I had left. I will add 2 more stars for trying to make thing right. But in order to earn the rest of the star from me the company will need adopt a hassle free return policy as long as the item is unopened. Can't expect a customer to go thru this process every time something needed to be return.

O'Fallon Missouri store - Product was damage when I pick up the wood floor and had to make a return trip back to get it replace. During the installation process I notice some woods plank was damage too but at this point I just have to deal with it. Not worth making another return trip. Staff was a bunch of ** too and their return policy is **. You have extra unopen bundle of woods left don't bother returning it. Mostly like you won't get a refund. Stick with the big brand retail shop like Home Depot or Lowe's. They know how to treat their customer right and have flexible return policy.

I had a decent experience with Lumber Liquidators. I'm an installer and we try to let the customer buy what they want and we've tried to refer them to Lumber Liquidators. Their reps were courteous and gave us what we needed. One time, we ended up buying all they had at one store but it was absolutely terrible. I’ve worked with long strips of bamboo before but this particular floor, which looked gorgeous when we were done, were ground up. They have the mill and they crush that mill together and that becomes a flooring. So, when you finally look at the end of it, it looks like a bunch of straw that were crushed together and when you touch it, a bit of splinter goes right into your finger.
They should make it a real point to tell people what is good and horrible for which case. After we did the installation, it all failed because they were on the water. It cost $18,000 and the house flooded. I've been doing installations for 40 years and it was one of the most nightmarish things I've ever done in my life. But Lumber Liquidators is a good company all in all.

Lumber Liquidators have a lot of choices and their reps are good. I asked them where the bamboo flooring was and they told me. I grabbed the box of flooring, bought it and left. I installed the flooring myself and it was easy. The quality was good and the price seemed to be very good for the quality.

Updated on 12/06/2018: This is in response to your email 12/5. They sent out the same guy as before. He says it moisture related. He even stated they should have told us to do a moisture test on our subflooring which they did not. We did exactly what they said do. Which was let the flooring acclimate to the rooms is was going in for 10 days and then put the moisture barrier down then install flooring. They just don't want to pay for the flooring which has a 50 year warranty. We didn't buy cheap flooring. This flooring cost 4000.00 dollars - that doesn't include labor. All we want is the flooring fixed.
Original Review: We purchased 3/4"×5" silver oak hardwood flooring. Our contractor installed it the way the salesman said. We let the wood acclimate for 10 days then installed the vapor barrier and then the flooring. Within 3 weeks the floors started cupping. $4000.00 dollars of hardwood is a little much to have to eat when you won't stand behind your product.

Do not allow installers in your home without security present! Here is my experience. I called Lumber Liquidators for wood flooring installation. They sent a person to measure room in my house, we agreed on laying the flooring in a certain direction, adding trim once installed and painting the trim. Person agreed to everything but said there would be a charge to paint trim. I agreed to pay the charge. When estimate came room was measured at 20% larger than I had expected. Called them about this and was told they are professional and know they are doing. I should have ran at this point but went with it.
Installation team comes out to do the installation and does not want to lay flooring or paint trim as agreed. When we questioned this installers became angry and started yelling and slamming doors of my house. My wife had to go hide in another room and lock the door. I confronted the installers and their supervisor called me. I told him either install as we agreed and act professional or leave. He apologized and promised they would do as we agreed.
Later in the day installation team says they are done. We look at the room and installers ignored everything we had agreed and had installed flooring as they wanted. Not surprising there was a lot of extra material as they measured the room to be bigger than it really was. I told them it was not done correctly and needed to be fixed. They said "that is all we are going to do" packed up and left!
Since you are forced to prepay before the work there is little you can do about any of this. Scam in measuring rooms bigger than they really are. Intimidating you by yelling and slamming things. Installing as they want and then walking out. Is hard to challenge since they do install a floor. End result is you pay more than you should because room is measured bigger than it is. They install as they want, not as you want or agree and if you challenge them you may fear for your safety in your own home.
I have tried for almost two months calling and emailing local store and Lumber Liquidators installation line that I called to initiate the installation. They say they will look into it and get back to me but do not. After a few weeks have stopped responding to my emails. Please avoid this company. Maybe ok to pay a little more than you should for a floor and have it installed different than you requested. But your family should never feel threatened in their own home. These people will know where you live and the layout of your home, not good to upset unstable people that have this information.

We love the quality of the hardwood floors we got from Lumber Liquidators. I've seen Lumber Liquidators' commercial and went to the one over in Columbia, Missouri where we made the deal. The representatives were really helpful and knowledgeable. Knowing that hardwood floors aren’t truly waterproof, they told us to buy the glue for them, and I didn’t know that until they told us. So, we purchased all that with the floors. Lumber Liquidators' prices are fair, too. I'll purchase from them again in the future if need be.

I bought some Morning Star Bamboo Flooring from Lumber Liquidators. We liked the hardwood look and the style of that particular flooring was attractive to us. We looked into a few other places and found that Lumber Liquidators was the best choice for us. Everybody was nice and courteous. The reps were very knowledgeable in everything that they explained to me so I was pretty pleased with that. I installed everything myself and the flooring laid down really nice. But I had to glue down that particular product and the glue was a little expensive. But the flooring itself was priced good. So definitely go look at Lumber Liquidators' selection.

Placed flooring 5 1/2 years ago. Color is coming off in several locations. We are only 2 people and 1 dog and remove shoes at door. LL sent "independent" contractor to look at floor and says all my fault. This company does all the inspections for LL, so much for independent inspection. I am hiring someone to reinspect floor. LL had the nerve to tell me I HAD to use a specific certification inspector so they get off the hook because they use them all of them. I'm sure very often because their product is so poor. Their inspection report said my cleaning method ruined the floors. I use lightly moist microfiber and no standing water after wiping. They reported that I use a wet mop, which I do not. They also said I didn't have gutters and downspouts, which I have.
Obviously inspector has vision problems. Cupping is supposedly from low humidity. Ha. Scratches everywhere. They are willing to do nothing. The floor was gorgeous when put down, but doesn't hold up. Take your money and buy good flooring. You are not saving money if you have to rip the floor up in 5 years and it will not last more than 5 years. The 30 year warranty is useless because they find an excuse why they are not responsible. This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. Their strand bamboo is such poor quality.

Spent over $4000 on flooring and won't take back $500 worth of unopened boxes because I am a few days over their 30 day return policy. I didn't even want the extra but they convinced me to buy more in case I needed it and now I am stuck. Home Depot and Lowe's don't screw people like this. Very pissed off.

Lumber Liquidators was referred by a friend of ours. We went in. Their rep was very helpful, gave us some samples, told us the pros and cons of different types of wood, and helped us make our selection. We purchased some wood for our stairs. We love its quality, and we like its durability and color. The only thing was they gave us the referral of their contractor, and I couldn’t even get the person to call me back. Still, I'm happy with my experience with them.

I was doing a small project in the house and I purchased a single bundle from Lumber Liquidators. The sales reps were nice, smart and they gave me advice. It was a nice interaction. I liked the quality of what I bought. It was pretty, thick and durable. I was only getting one box and the price was reasonable. I was sitting at Home Depot for about an hour and I decided to go someplace that has more than three different options. It was nice to have a one stop shop for a bunch of different options.
