Purchased hardwood floor which I had to return because it was much inferior to the sample. I was promised "made in USA" product. Store person made explicit representation that LL stopped selling Chinese product because it was carcinogenic and attracted legal liability. Fortunately, I wrote on the contract everything I was told which was completely violated. I felt like a victim of a fraud. Also, it took me three trips to collect hardwood because it had to be picked from another store and that store person tried to sell material not needed for hardwood installation. I will never step into LL. I wasted time and money in transportation and had deal with aggressive and rude LL staff.

The install is just beautiful. My wife is very please with our new floors.

Not a good experience, probably won't return. Charged more for 8' length, which I needed since the ends were not T&G. I had to sort through a ragtag of picked through planks, most of which were garbage. Wasn't totally happy with selection, but LL unfortunately has a monopoly on local T&G inventory.

While the salesperson was helpful and professional, we were informed that the flooring was in the main warehouse and would take a week for delivery to the store. 2 weeks later, no call and no call backs (left 3 messages). Finally spoke with a salesperson: the flooring was backordered at the mill and it would be at least 4 weeks for delivery to the main warehouse and then a week to get to my store. I did ask when we purchased, I was told, "Yes, it's in stock and we'll ship". I fully understand milling and backorders on crafted items, I did not need a tutorial from the manager when I was finally told the truth. When I asked why we were not informed about this backlog and backorder when we purchased, "not company policy".

You've lost $400+ in business from 1 customer and as a consultant to decorators, builders and renovators, LL will not get any business recommendations. I prefer purchasing wood harvested and milled in the USA from an American company. My diy project was pushed back 1.5 months due to lack of communication and honesty (so much for vacation renovations). If I had been informed that the item was backlogged at the mill, I would have selected and purchased another flooring from LL. You would have made a more money, I would have long finished the install.

My whole experience with Lumber Liquidators was great. The guys in the store were nice and greeted me when I came in, helped me match my old floor with some new flooring. Now the quality of the flooring wasn't as good as my old stuff but it got the job done and when I was done I had a box that was damaged on one end so when I took it back they refunded my money, no questions asked. Would definitely buy from them again if the opportunity presents itself.

I ordered my laminate and transition pieces from Lumber Liquidators and I was not happy at all with the customer service or the amount of time it took to receive my order. It took over 6 weeks to receive my transition pieces and I had to call them every week (and received a "it's on its way") for 3 weeks to ask where it was because no one from the Ocala store called me even a single time to update me on my order. When I finally got my floor they gave me a wrong box so I had to drive the 45 minutes from my house to go back and exchange it out, which I received the wrong box again but noticed before I left the parking lot. Very disappointed with the manager I spoke to; will not be using them again.

After selection of our bamboo flooring, disappointed the various boards were nowhere near what the store "sample" showed us after getting home and opening the boxes. Too much reds vice the yellow tones on the sample in the store. Went back to store to discuss, but was told that is the nature of bamboo. Still not pleased, but installed it anyway. BE MINDFUL of this BEFORE shopping for flooring. You'll never get the floor you want or "see" at the store. It's the nature of the material.

We had a great experience with Lumber Liquidators. They were the most professional company we dealt with out of three others we received quotes from. It was the best price by far for the same product. We got hand-scraped hardwood and the room is transformed. We also did our staircase and it turned out amazing. We used their referred installer and he was extremely professional as well. They finished in two days.

The product that we received from our LL store was not what was we saw in the showroom. There were varying colors which looked like a manufacturing problem had occurred with our allotment of material. LL took care of the issue without question and we installed a floor that our customer was very excited about. The 3 star rating was because of the hassle with the product NOT with LL.

My experience at the Lumber Liquidators store was fine; however, I was not happy with the installer. My place was left a mess. I had laminate installed and there was sawdust left throughout my pantry and closet. They attempted to move my entertainment center and broke the top of it. They did haul away the carpet and padding until 2 days after the job was completed and even then they left 3 large garbage bags of debris in front of my house. I will not purchase from Lumber Liquidators again.

The experience was fine with Lumber Liquidators but not so much with the finance company. I had bamboo hardwood floors installed in my brand new home. Cost of the product was good. However, the installation was way more than I think it should've been. I ended up spending close to $12 a square foot to have the floor installed and I could've gotten it a bit cheaper. Overall, they did what was expected of them. They went a little above board to make sure I got it in the time that I needed it for my house. They're certainly worth taking a look at when looking at flooring.

I was told then about a ** 20% restocking fee! They told me I had nothing to worry about because they don't get products from China anymore (all while I'm reading made in China on all my boxes). I came back and ordered real hardwood flooring this time and paid an additional $2900.00. Then it comes in and I get it loaded and notice... MADE IN CHINA... again! I believe Lumber Liquidators to be lying to people to get them to buy their products and then hit them with their restocking fee if they find out the truth about their products being from China.

Lumber Liquidators uses third party installers - if I knew the installation company name I would be writing a review specifically for them, but Lumber Liquidators is ultimately responsible. The rep from the installation company came out to measure and give me a quote. He was a really nice guy, but only spent about 10 minutes in my place. Didn't examine my current floors even though I told him they needed to be removed. He made it seem like the simplest job, and said they would move all of my furniture for me. I spent the past two weeks preparing for the install - I even sold my sectional to make room even though he said that wasn't necessary. I moved furniture to make it easier, and packed everything else including clothes in boxes preparing for the big install week.

The installers arrived at my condo today, and moaned and groaned for about 30 minutes telling me it was an impossible job, that I should have had all of the furniture moved out, and complained about the sales rep misleading them - it was very uncomfortable. They said they would try to take up the floors but they couldn't promise me anything. I left for work, and after 10 minutes they called and said it couldn't be done. They said someone would be in touch with me soon, but they were leaving - end of story. I called Lumber Liquidators and got transferred to several people, and was told by a manager that they would call me back. Four hours later I called and they said they were still trying to figure out what to do. The third party installers finally called at the end of the day and said they wouldn't do the job due to liability concerns, and that I had to find my own installers.

I called Lumber Liquidators and they basically just said "sorry." Didn't offer any advice, compensation (other than a refund), or any kind of help whatsoever. So now I am on my own in an unlivable condo until I can find someone who can actually do the job. Bottom line - I would not recommend Lumber Liquidators or their third party contractors for any install job. Very unprofessional, and did not properly examine my space.

Though we had to talk with them about a few things because they hadn't worked with bamboo much.

Read the fine print. Store personnel tell you to take the flooring out of package to acclimate thereby voiding return. Their website says you don't have to. Also was told by the salesman three weeks to let acclimate and they only give you thirty days to return. Worst return policy on the planet. Just take the hit and go to the big box stores, at least you can return your extra product... They know the homeowner only does his floors once every 20 years so they can treat you like a rube.

My experience with Lumber Liquidators has been terrible. We bought some laminate flooring to go downstairs and within no time, it started peeling. So we contacted the home office at Lumber Liquidators, but they refused to do anything about it. We used the guy that they recommended to install the floor and they sent him in to measure the humidity in the house. The flooring was installed on top of a concrete flooring and they said that the moisture was okay, but the elevation wasn't completely level. It was something that they used to get out of the warranty but now, they would not honor the warranty and they would not give us back any on our purchase. They did not even suggest that they would repair the pieces that were peeling. The flooring is even worse now than it was when we reported it to them, so we got no satisfaction whatsoever.

And then we see on the news that the wood that we purchased from them came from Japan and it has a cancer agent in it. We're living with the flooring that has that material in it, so we are now in a class action lawsuit against Lumber Liquidators. We haven't heard anything from them but we are very, very dissatisfied and would not recommend them to anyone. I would like to save someone else from the negative experience that we've had. We've no way of resolving it. My husband and I are both retired and we have no way to pull the floor up and replace it ourselves. And it's out of our budget to do it. So we're sort of stuck.

My dog ruined my wood floor. So, I wanted to go with tile. I bought 500 square feet of wood grain tile from Lumber Liquidators. I went to the Hartford location and the sign had the pricing at $2.49 a foot. The sales representative rang it up at $2.79 and said that the sign was expired. So, we had to go back and forth in explaining to him that I should've had the price at $2.49. He made it at $2.49. He honored it, which was fine. They had to special order it because there wasn't enough in stock. Once it came in, they shipped it to my house. The driver showed up and I unloaded it myself. I had an installation company install it and it came out okay. But I should've bought a couple more cases where the installer could sort through for some of the better ones. But all in all, the tile has very good quality. Overall, it was a good experience with Lumber Liquidators. They had all the information in front of the computer.

I cannot say enough about my experience with LL!! Rich ** worked with my project design person (she's from Lowe's, no less!) via phone, and then he and I spoke. I knew before I headed into the store--an 85-mile trip one-way--that they had what I was looking for. Not only did I save about $300, but Rich provided me with a design idea that addressed the issue I was having with trying to match new flooring with an existing wood floor. Rich's idea was amazing!!!

Today I saved more money on "T-sticks" from LL. Because Rich had been so awesome with my first experience, I asked for him again. He figured out that I could have the items shipped directly to my home, saving me the 85 mile trip to the store for only $20. AND, I would get the items sooner than if I had them shipped to the store. WIN-WIN! I will recommend LL to others; in fact, I already have! Really could not have had a more positive experience.

So I took it back to them and got my money back and they were good at that. They were very nice. However, as far as knowledge of the product, they didn’t know about the tongue and the groove and didn’t realize that our flooring was thinner and not as wide as the average ones. I bought a Bellawood oak wood from Lumber Liquidators. They had the largest selection among other companies and they had the quickest delivery time available. My interaction with their sales reps was pretty good, except there was a miscommunication. I had stated when I purchased it that when the shipment got in, I was to be made aware of it so I can have my contractor go pick it up. And they called me on a Friday, letting me know that the shipment was going to be arriving on the Saturday. I said no problem. I’ll have my contractor contact them so I can pick it up first thing Monday morning. Then I kept getting calls from the delivery company saying that my delivery’s ready to go out. I felt I was pressured into paying for delivery. But then again, the delivery charge was waived so I ended up having to get it delivered.

But the quality of the flooring is awesome. I have no issues with the floor and I love it. Installation was also simple - the floor went in just right. We let it sit in the house for about two and a half days and then within three to four days, all the floors went down. However, some pieces had cracks in them so I had to toss out some parts of the floors that I got. It’s a good thing I got extra footage.

After visiting the Lumber Liquidators' website, we learned the product we purchased was subject to having a formaldehyde problem.

As we have two young children, we immediately became concerned about installing a potentially carcinogenic product within our home, and I called the local store who said it was past the 30 days, even if I just wanted an exchange. I spoke with LL 800-number and was told there was no proof of formaldehyde being an issue, even though the Company admitted on its website and I ordered free a formaldehyde test kit from the LL website!

At this point, I am so annoyed with LL, that I won't step foot in another one of their stores as they seem to have a disregard for my children's safety, nor will they stand behind their product! I will probably be forced to trash my purchase, as I must admit it still does give off a funny smell. This review is for Tranquility Poole Harbor 5MM plank vinyl flooring. This is the worst product and experience I have ever had. I hired a professional who stated that this product was the most difficult "Click together" type flooring he has ever installed. The product sat in the area of installation for about a month prior to the install. I would think it had plenty of time to acclimate to the area. The installer left approx on 1/8 to 1/4 room along the base for expansion as usual. The expansion and contraction with this product is unreal. It buckles long ways and bows side to side. Don't let it even see sunlight, because you will have to replace those pieces. Furniture is out. You can never put anything with much weight on it or again it buckles.

Supposed to be very durable. I dropped a lid to a pot and it gouged a hole all the way thru. I called and complained, filed a complaint and a investigator contacted me. I was instructed to send pics of all the buckling and send back unused product. The investigator sent me an email in about two weeks and stated the lab determined nothing wrong with the product (**). Lumber Liquidators never came to look at the problem or tried to rectify it in any way. Terrible product and terrible customer service. I truly hope this honest review prevents people from the terrible nightmare I have experienced.

    Dear Valued Customer,
We want to thank you for your decision to purchase your floor from Lumber Liquidators and we are sorry to hear your having some concerns with buckling, however it is important to know how this happens and why. Reviewing your complaint the floor should not have been difficult to click together for your installer. If at the time of installation this was noticed by the installer, it was ultimately his decision to continue the installation or to advise (you) the home owner he feels there’s a problem and the product should be reviewed.
The 1/8 of an inch is not enough. All wood and concrete subfloors must be flat within 1/8" over a 6' span, or 3/16" over a 10' span. Theses areas must be checked prior to installation. When beginning the installation you start in the left hand corner placing 1/2" spacers between the wall and the flooring not 1/8".
Buckling is a lifting, separation, tenting or peaking of the installed floor from the subsurface. In some instances the floor can literally be seen as rising or lifting up several inches in one or more places from the subsurface. Buckling can be manifested in all types of wood floor products and installations such as; nail downs, glue down and all floating floors. Buckling can occur due to installer error or can be environmental.
Damages caused by moisture are excluded and moisture can cause issues such as buckling. Since we have already reviewed your case file and provided you with this information, we understand you may disagree which is why we’ve provided a list of a nationwide independent inspection company who you can commission to come to your home and complete an inspection. If this report comes back and shows your issue is manufacturing, we are happy to stand behind our product and assist you based off the guidelines of your warranty.

I called, filled out the complaint form, sent them the pics that were needed. They did have someone come out to test flooring. I then seen a news report on the same exact flooring with the same exact issues. After going to the news stations she had her entire floor replaced and installed by LL.

I called to see if there had been any report on the testing on our floor. Will only give us an in-store credit. Problem is the floor we purchased was discontinued shortly after purchase. Was never alerted that the floor was being discontinued. All they are willing to do is give us the in-store credit for the flooring, nothing else. The floor guys who helped the investigator said that the crew that installed my mother's floor had been fired for poor workmanship, with L.L. having to replace several faulty floors. When the floor was pulled up there was almost no glue, which acts as the moisture barrier thus the cupping.

We returned all but about 3 boxes due to severe deficiencies scratches, breaks from tie downs on shipping. We received replacement flooring about 3 weeks after contacting them. Next, the flooring acclimated in the house for about 7 months as I was deployed. We started to install as a floating floor and after the first 4 rows we noticed that the millwork was very horrible. For example, the board would slide together at one end but leave a horrible gap at the other end. We swapped board out and thought we had it... but after more flooring was put in it was evident it wasn't going to stick together.

We had to use a specific glue on the "tongue and groove" because they wouldn't stay together. The tongue and groove was not a locking tongue and groove either, they just slid together which I've never seen. I called Lumber Liquidators and they said this was normal, both gapping and slide tongue and groove. My flooring has had ample time to acclimate to the house, however in places it is starting to buckle and I know we left enough space all around the edges. The transition strips were warped and the T moulding fails to sit correctly. I installed an engineer hardwood because my subfloor is concrete.

Lumber liquidators says there isn't anything they can do and the issues I'm having are because of installing it incorrectly. I have installed hardwood and laminate flooring before and I have never seen flooring cut like this or be so frail. If anything is dropped on the floor it immediately has a dent or a scratch. We cleaned the floor with mild soap and a little water and it started showing areas of water damage down the edges. I will never spend another dime at this organization again, and I will encourage others to spend their money elsewhere as they will get a better product.

There isn't a business model in the world that would allow for a customer to order something... and then have NO idea how long delivery might take? Well I called in a few more weeks and was told a month, then told 6 weeks, then told 2 months. When asked if they would accept the extra boxes (5) approx. $300.00 worth I was told there would be a restocking fee, then when I got to the store I was told they couldn't give me a refund because I was 2 days over the 30 days. They then told me the only thing they could do is store credit. Don't think I want to give this place any more of my business. I would like everyone out there to be aware Lumber Liquidators is not a friendly place to do business with. PS. They also told me to just sell it on craigslist! Very unhappy. Will not recommend.

On October 3rd 2015, I went to Lumber Liquidators here in Duluth, GA location to purchase a wood floor for my home improvement. They advertised having sales and I went there for the sales. The sales associated, Jonathan, sold me the advertised floor and recommended to have 10% margin for waste and told me that the floor is 5 years warranty. Also he told me the company had it on clearance due to the fact they want to get rid of it for new products. I was happy with the sale. The product was not in the store and suppose to be shipped to the store for pickup. When I received the hardwood floor, and my contractor was preparing to install, I realized that all the 1st six package of the hardwood floor were damage, more than 80%. It is only waste they sold me.

I contacted the store for exchange to another product. They refused and told me that the product is non-refundable or exchangeable to another product. I filed the claim to Lumber Liquidators about the issue as this is not different as a scammed or robbery. I was chocked to the claim representative, Amanda, who said that I agreed to buy a product, an odd lot product, which means that the product did not pass Lumber Liquidators' inspection and that why it was on clearance, therefore there is no return. I can't believe with that statement, a company can sell product that didn't pass the company inspection and standard. As an Electrical Engineer, when a product failed the inspection, the product is not to be sold to the public. I can't believe a company can sell defected product and they are aware about it.

The sale associate Jonathan didn't tell me the product is defective and didn't pass the company inspection. Also, I can't believe a company like Lumber Liquidators can advertised online for product that did not pass the company's inspection to consumers. This is the biggest SCAM and ROBBERY EVER in my life. Even though the product has 5 years warranty, they said the product doesn't have any warranty and I was aware about it. This is another biggest LIES ever. This is like you go to the store to buy a $3000 product and the sale associate told you the product doesn't have any warranty and failed the inspection, and you still buy the product. This is unheard of. The biggest scam ever.

At least make it easier to cancel an order since you don't have the stock. Meaning out of stock = no charge. A customer should not have to be told by their local store that the website over sold the item but to call the 800#, in which, I had to speak with three people in order to get someone to follow up with me in 24 to 48 hrs to cancel my order and issue a refund. I purchased 2,000 sf of 3/4" pre-finished T&G Maple - 3 - 1/4" wide and used a pneumatic stapler to staple it to a plywood subfloor with quiet floor underlayment. I bought 6% extra so I would have enough to cull any warped or blemished pieces but only needed 3-4%. And of the boards I did not use, most just had small imperfections and I will use them later in another small project. The boxes had a good variation of random length boards and the color and grain was very consistent throughout. And a shout out for the West Knoxville location salesman who was very helpful throughout selection, purchase and loading. Great job guys!

If you file a warranty claim and complain about the flooring, and customer service states, "It's always the installation, never the floors," is that really accurate or are they just passing the blame? I live in the South and it's humid, but how is it possible to have an installed floating bamboo floor that's 9 month old continue to expand? Like my installer said, "You have a living floor." When a curtain was drawn and the floor was exposed to some warm sunshine for several hours it buckled. Does having heavy furniture impede the expansion? When the temperature outside is moderate and the AC/heat doesn't run, does that throw off the required perfect balance of temperature/humidity necessary for the floors? All I can say is buyer beware.

We recently purchased an old farm in Orland. The renovation of the kitchen involved stripping out everything to the studs, all 4 walls, ceiling and floor. We purchased bamboo flooring from the Brewer store, Morning Star Bamboo, MS Forbidden City Bam, 7/16 x 3 3/4. Local store support was questionable and that directions for installation were wrong, and what should have taken a couple of days, took a week and a half. In fact, the product was so difficult to install, we took back all we had purchased to do the dining room and got our money back.

We are now less than a year from install and the finish on the product is literally wearing off. It scratches at the drop of a hat and the commercials noting its toughness certainly cannot be proved by us. We have contacted the warranty folks at Lumber Liquidators who assured me that 48 hours after filling out their paperwork I'd be contacted. That was 456 hours ago and 4 follow-up emails later, we still have not heard from Lumber Liquidators. Buyer beware - the product did not live up to company claims and they do not get back to you. Not only do I need to replace the floor but all the finish work, cabinets, and appliances were installed after laying this floor. Again, buyer beware.

Updated on 02/02/2016: An update to our November 10, 2015 Ray of Orland, ME posting. A brief overview of the problem is in order. We purchased flooring from the Lumber Liquidators (LL) local store, Brewer Maine, in December of 2014. The flooring was installed sometime in February 2015 as we completely gutted the kitchen for which the flooring was purchased. Now, here we are approximately 10 months later and we have panels that the finish is literally wearing off. We noticed it almost 3 months ago and as you might expect it just keeps getting worse.

We contacted the local outlet and they referred me to corporate. We provided pictures and a General Disclosure Statement (GDS) on 10/20/2015, I followed up on 10/26/2015 and was assured we would be contacted; followed-up again on 11/3/2015 with the same assurance. The GDS statement states a 24-hour response could be anticipated...at the 456 hour point, I contacted the Better Business Bureau. Finally, after the BBB got involved, I received a response.

LL asked if we had any of the product available for analysis. We took 4 panels to the local Brewer outlet and they sent them back to the home office. After about 3 weeks, we got a phone call from an individual who was following up on the analysis. That was a very disturbing conversation. First, the individual's entire agenda was to get us to accept their findings. He talked about finishing repairs we could try, indicated our installer was not qualified, tried to imply we lived too close to a lake, suggested we had not followed the installation instructions, noted the flooring should not be placed under our appliances and final tried to infer our kitchen faced the wrong direction. When he started talking about water content in the soil around the house and whether or not we had a crawl space I was pretty sure we were not going to get any satisfaction.

We were challenged on the installation process and it was noted we had glued down the product. We had not glued down the product but had in fact followed the instruction of our local LL store. That was right up front in our initial GDS complaint. We were challenged on not following the installation instructions. None were given. Our builder has built more than 60 homes and the quality of his work is beyond reproach. He's a perfectionist who has never used the term "good enough for government work".

LL had 4 pieces to analyze, representing less than 1% of our total flooring. I hardly think that can be considered definitive. When I continued to stress that point, their representative noted they would, against company practice, hire a company to come in and do an independent evaluation. However, there was a catch. I had to accept those results as final. Sounded "fishy" to me so I balked and when the rep questioned my rationale I said "OK, I'll pay for the inspection." He stated he would send me a listing of companies that could perform an inspection and true to his word I had a listing (1 company) within 20 minutes. Interestingly enough, my email to that company, the company LL was going to pay to do my inspection, couldn't do it on my nickel due to a conflict of interest. Wonder what that conflict of interest might be?

This entire run-around just doesn't smell right. You would think LL would be more than willing to stand behind their product but if you look at the internet, fixing my problems might just open the floodgates because a lot of people have had issues with this flooring. The sad thing about this is my wife has a brand new kitchen with a floor that looks 20 years old. And it keeps getting worse. I won't argue those 4 panels may have tested within specs but come get a sample of those which the finish is wearing off. I'll bet those don't meet spec. I have never in my life experienced such a run-around and am not about to let this lie.

LL contacted my builder and he stopped by to discuss the telcon. He was amazed at the resistance to honor the guarantee and could not get through to LL that this was a finish quality issue not an installation issue. Our concern is simply this, the internet is rife with comments concerning LL's lack of responsiveness and quality issues with this product. They have no intention to honor this guarantee. I recently forwarded this issue to the Maine Attorney General's office and am in the process of contacting the two major homebuilder associations in Maine to register this complaint. Note, if I could select anything less than 1 star I would. Related info: Lumber Liquidators Complaint response for order # ** / Complaint # ** refers. BBB Complaint Case # ** (Ref # **). I just had a run-in with LL. We bought some expensive engineered hardwood from LL. We used their installers to install a floating floor on top of a concrete floor. We brought the flooring home and opened all the boxes for 10 days before it was installed. Right after it was installed (in 2 rooms) the floor squeaks and pops every time you step on it. We called LL and they said that was not normal. Wait 30 days and see if it gets better. It did not and we called back several times and each time we were told this is not normal.

To make a long story a bit shorter, we had two separate inspectors come (both were arranged by LL). They finally sent out the installers to remove a part of the floor for the second inspector. We got a letter of explanation about 30 days later saying that they do not warrant squeaks and their product is not defective. I have never heard of this type of floor making the noises it makes. This was verified by some builder-types that have seen lots of flooring. Do not use Lumber Liquidators - you will regret it like I have.

I returned the remaining flooring and showed them photos of the scratches and expressed my concern over the lack of durability. The return was done in less than 30 days of purchase date and I was still charged $400.00 to return the flooring. On the back of the receipt it states returns are accepted only with approval.

I was offered a store credit but I'm not interested when the floor that was sold to me is obviously not worth the price if a plastic laundry basket can scratch it that easily. Plus having to match up the rest of the flooring to that hallway bedroom is impossible. Now to match up I will have to rip out what was installed. The claims department took our statement in depth, accepted our pictures. Unfortunately the refusal to replace our flooring for the boards splitting, separating, was not acceptable to us. The claims department listed reasons of why our flooring was failing and it was our fault. The reasoning they give were NOT what was happening.

They referred us to a 3 party inspector service. We called them knowing this would be more funds out of our pocket. They informed us it was a 3 month waiting list. We contacted another laminate inspector who then would not return our calls. Our 3 attempt of an inspector at least they would talk to us. He told us to file a class action suit!

Let me get it out of the way and say you get what you pay for. I'm a Connecticut Resident and have experience in wood finishing. The Bell Hickory Hardwood boards were installed earlier this year. About 2 months ago, the hardwood floors, which are prefinished Bellawood Handscraped Hickory, started to crack in multiple areas. Before I purchased from LL (Lumber Liquidators), the company assured me the "chemical finish process" these solid wood boards go through make the wood much more durable than that which is not prefinished. Needless to say, I filed a complaint with LL about 7 weeks back and asked them to fix the cracking boards.

As I have experience working with wood finishes, I understand the physics of polyurethane, moisture content, and the effects of relative humidity on woods of varying species. After 7 weeks and 2 inspectors sent from LL, an email came through stating they find my use of water and soap to clean the floors is against policy. If LL actually cared about their product and the consumer, they would know polyurethane does not allow water to penetrate into the substrate, in this case, wood. Water VAPOR does. The 1st inspector they sent out, yeah, he said it's definitely a manufacturer defect. So LL called a 2nd company to send another inspector who said, "Oh, you use water to clean?" What do they want you to clean anything other than sand off with?!?!

They sent me an email today telling me they cannot cover their own defective product and wanted me to sign a contract within 5 days of receiving it which will give me $500 store credit. In exchange, I cannot say anything to anyone about this and the matter would have to be confidential so that the company saves face. $500? Really? I'll never buy anything from them ever again. What a waste of $20k!

In February of 2014 I completed the installation of LVT Underlay and vinyl planks. In June of 2015 I removed a few and found mold growing on the underlay in 5 months. The underlay is warranted to be mold resistant. It was installed throughout my home and the area I removed was in the middle of front room with no exposure to moisture.

I have made several attempts to remedy this at the corporate and local retail store. After submitting a four-page claim with pictures and many calls I was denied because they said I removed the material. I only removed a small portion of the material which was communicated and pictured to their representatives. After several more phone calls I spoke to a manager who said I was denied since they couldn't verify the moisture level in my home. No one ever came to the house or returned calls.

I have not had time to remove and reinstall the vinyl planks and underlay. I need to purchase more planks because some will be damaged and I'm not sure what to do because according to reviews they will not accept boxes if opened and ALL of the previous boxes fell open from just transporting them. I need to sell my house for financial and health reasons and now with a moldy floor I am going to lose more than if I didn't have any floor.

Updated on 11/16/2015: You can see from the response on September 23, 2015 that they denied my claim for damages and faulty warranty of their underlay. Their first reason is that the floor exhibited moisture from the pictures I sent. I have attached these pictures that do not even show the floor. The second reason they indicate is based on a warranty for Vinyl Planks (not the moisture resistant underlay) installation page 7 & 12, which does not apply to underlay. I have attached a copy of the only paper I received with the roll of underlay with no warranty. If I had known this requirement I would not have purchased the underlay or vinyl planks due to the humidity in Florida homes. I'm hoping to sell to recoup a small portion of the planks so I can purchase and have tile installed.

They refer to the requirement to have your floor tested for moisture to validate the product. I chose this floor because of the waterproof and mold resistant properties of the floor. If I had known of this requirement I would have chosen another flooring option as I live in Florida. Lumber Liquidators offered $100 to drop my case and hold them harmless. This doesn't even cover the cost of the underlay purchased, the labor involved in removing and reinstalling and the fact that I do not wish to install this product as I don't trust this.

Flooring should last at least 5 years minimum before having to touch, if not 10 years. They sell all garbage, they are a ** scam. And PS, I am a professional contractor and I installed so there's no bs. They hire subs to install their floors who barely know how to use a saw, let alone tell you any advice about your product. They need a class action lawsuit on their ass to get them to be legit.

We had not previously dealt with Lumber Liquidators. Upon finding flooring that we liked for a lake house remodel, we ordered enough for an entire 2,000 sq ft house. This is only a weekend house with limited exposure to traffic. Less than a year in, we are seeing excessive marking, splintering and cracking in many areas. After submitting a claim, Lumber Liquidators set an "independent consultant" for review. The review found that it was an install issue, blaming everything from humidity to inconsistent installation.

We are extremely upset and frustrated with a complete lack of customer service and standing by their product. A complete joke in my opinion... I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. We are now stuck or must replace with a reputable company. I must also say that our installer gets great reviews and has completed the renovation to satisfaction. Having installed over 100 floors in his day, I refuse to believe this is an installer issue as LL says. They simply took the easy way out.

We noticed that the finish starting cracking after a year and then continued to spread to high traffic areas. We installed the flooring correctly and cleaned it with BonaX which is the product that is required to clean the floors. When we made a claim to Lumber Liquidators, we were told it was not a manufacturing problem since we didn't notice the problem before we installed it. Of course, we wouldn't have installed defective flooring. That is ridiculous statement. However, the prefinish is a manufacturing issue and since that isn't holding up, we feel that LL should stand behind its claim of a 50 year finish. I would not recommend buying this product if you are expecting that the product will hold up to normal wear and tear.

She said it could take up to several months. I asked to speak with the Supervisor. He was of no help and even promised a $100 refund which he never completed. When the shipment did arrive several weeks later the ridges were splinter. We needed to incur an extra cost to bond the wood. We chose to go this route considering the frustration we had already experienced. At one time the rep wanted us to place an order on a different product! Too many phone calls were exchanged without resolution. I told them I would write this negative review - they were not concerned.

Purchase special priced peel and stick vinyl flooring for inexpensive solution to basement flooring. The finish on these tiles is dull and ugly. The amount of adhesive on these causes an impossible mess, both for placement and clean up. Glue oozed around the tiles making them difficult to separate. LL said they were un-returnable because they were an advertised price, even though these are clearly defective and unlike the sample the salesman showed me (in the amount of glue). Ripping out the floor and starting again with another product will be a nightmare because of the amount of stickiness, so I will try to make due with the floor for now. Customer service assured me warm soapy water would clean them up, but this has proved inefficient. At best, taking hours of soapy water, Goo Gone and scraping.

We bought the flooring and on the pick up they did a "bait and switch" and loaded the rustic grade oak instead of the select grade oak. Went back after I sampled 3 packages with a 50% unusable rating (I'm sorry but a knot is one thing but calling half a missing board or a knot hole that goes all the way through is not "not a wood fault"). Wouldn't take the wood back even though it wasn't what we ordered without a 20% restocking fee. Save yourself the hassle and pay 50 cents more for decent select grade elsewhere. BTW they will also try to sell you the "quiet underlayment"-- talked with pros and they told me that's all bunk!

Two days after installing an engineered hardwood from from LL, we saw the 60 Minutes story of the formaldehyde problem with flooring from China. We immediately checked the leftover box and saw that it was, indeed, made in China. We immediately called the store at 9 AM the next morning to be told that our floor was "no problem" as it is only the laminated floors that there was an issue. We were delighted and gave no further thought to the floor. About that time, I was getting runny eyes, nose, sinus trouble and thought I was getting a cold. When it did not go away and started getting pressure in my chest and neck, I thought maybe I was developing allergies although had never before had any.

When one night the pressure was so severe, I ended up in the ER. After ruling out heart attack, etc., the doctor asked if there was anything new in our home. Therefore, I had a certified air pollution company come and determine that we had a high elevation of formaldehyde in the house. However, when I called LL they told me that they would not be considering any claims that were not laminated floor. However, if you go online it is very clear that engineered hardwood also can contain formaldehyde if made in China! I have sent all documentation to LL, including certified levels of formaldehyde and hospital records. However, to date I have not gotten a reply. I would never, never recommend a company that gets people sick just to save a couple of dollars.

After about a month, the wood started cracking all throughout the house. All moisture readings fell within the guidelines of the area where I live. A complaint was filed and after many phone calls and emails they finally sent an inspector out. He claimed it was a moisture issue even though the readings were within the norm. We bought approx. 484 sq. ft of their 12 mm Chinese laminate flooring from Ispiri / Dream Home Manufacturers. After being alerted to the high formaldehyde emissions from this flooring through the 60 Minutes broadcast, we started to put two and two together: My husband was waking with headaches. I am a homemaker and always at home, and I was having terrible breathing problems to the point of having to undergo very uncomfortable asthma testing (negative results), along with throat problems and constant stuffy sinuses.

We contacted the attorneys in California who suggested we do an independent testing with a more advanced testing with an air pump instead of the passive dosimeter badge that LL offers. Our test results were 110 ppb whereas the NIOSH has set an exposure limit at 16 ppb, so, as you can see our indoor formaldehyde reading was off the charts! We have removed the flooring and we feel better each day! They sell their products as "no returns special pricing" for a reason! Consumers have no recourse other than the current class action suits being assembled. Sadly, there are none in our state of MN. So we might as well have threw out $2700.00 with the garbage because that is what their flooring is. You get what you pay for and then some. If it's too good to be true there is a reason. It is not a coincidence that this story blew wide open due to their profit margin being unprecedented too!

For the last 8 months we have experienced months of delays, avoidance, ignored, and being forwarded to multiple customer service representatives. Matt, representative of Lumber Liquidators stated that it was impossible that it was Lumber Liquidator's faulty wood and that it was the installers fault just by looking at the pictures.

I researched online regarding warranty claims of customers of Lumber Liquidators and that it is their reasoning to other customers regarding warranty claims. Note this is prior to any inspection that Matt came to the conclusion. Rather insulting when myself and fiance had to deal with 8 months of delays, avoidance, being ignored, and being forwarded to multiple customer service representatives just to have him state that via e-mail. We're taking them to small claims court but, I just want potential customers or customers their actual warranty practices and poor customer service because Lumber Liquidators advertises warranty and customer service as their key points to why customers go to them.

I purchased 3 boxes of St James laminate floor to complete a nursery for my granddaughter in March 2015. The problem started when 1 of the 3 boxes didn't match or fit into the others during my DIY install. (This was my 2nd purchase of flooring and my 1st DIY install went off without a hitch and I loved the results and floor). I called the store in Middletown NY to get another box and was told it was on hold due to formaldehyde testing and they could not sell me any or exchange any St James African Mahogany flooring and to call back in a few weeks.

I didn't start my project until April 2015 and I waited 2-3 weeks and still no option to sell. I was told to contact the corporate office. I called on May 16th and my claim was filed. I was told to wait to receive a call to discuss options to exchange flooring. I waited 2-3 weeks and called at least once a week for a status and was told that they were swamped and things were crazy in their office.

What does that have to do with me? I'm a paying customer who wanted to get a resolution in a timely manner. Needless to say that didn't happen, and it took over 2 months to get my flooring. I went back and forth with phone calls to try and get a different option which I was told in May but customer service said they would give me 2 boxes for free and the testing was complete and the flooring was safe. I didn't want to use the flooring, but my time was limited and I needed to complete my nursery.

When I finally picked up the boxes, no apologies, no sympathy and I questioned getting a pull bar for my inconvenience and the manager in the Middletown office said it was nothing that he could do for me. Horrible customer service there as well. In closing, I must say the turnaround time and lack of follow up and unprofessionalism from the customer service team as well as managers was horrible. I will never use or recommend Lumber liquidators to anyone.

When I tried to exchange the trim for the correct trim, I was told they couldn't because more than 90 days had elapsed, and that was their corporate policy. I called their headquarters and was told they could take it back if they were willing to at my store. Store refused to exchange trim pieces for the correct ones, again citing the 90-day policy. They were completely unapologetic. I cannot understand this policy, and based on their inflexibility will not do business with them again. This is the second, and last floor I have bought from them. They are evidently satisfied to lose thousands of dollars of future business to avoid having to exchange some $50 pieces of trim.

I was also told they have a very small pick-up window time (something like 9-11). I therefore, had to go to 2 stores to get the product. They also did not have enough corner molding - so I was told that it would be $20 for shipping. Later, I was told that if I had it shipped to the store, there would not have been any additional fees. However, I was not told this at the original time. The person that placed the order, ordered the wrong transitions (after many times of confirming what I needed). Therefore, I had to make another trip.

When putting in the corner molding, I had 2 different lots (shipped at the same time) with drastically different coloring. I made 2 trips to the store to try to find all the same lot, but no one made any effort to help. I found the correct lot at another store when I made the phone calls. So, another trip to the store to exchange merchandise. With all of these complaints, they had offered me a $200 refund (back in September). I had told them I wanted to wait till I installed all the flooring in case I ran into other problems with the product. Because I was doing other work in the rooms and doing the work myself, it has taken me some time. I am done with the project - and very happy with it, but now I cannot get anyone (the sales rep handling my case, managers or district managers) to return my phone calls and e-mails to get my money.

We notified LL shortly thereafter (March of 2015). As of now (December, 2015), this is not resolved. Initial response is that this is our fault. There is no standing behind the product. The customer service rep (Kerry) goes weeks and months without responding to us. I have given up calling because they're so rude... its constant excuses... "they're backlogged". On May 2nd, I received an email saying that had to send my test kit to another lab, & that I should have results in 2-3 weeks. 2 weeks ago, I got another email, they're backlogged again, & I should have my results in another 2 weeks... It's 3+ months, I still don't have my results! & I still can't move in to my condo... I begged them for a credit for my floor & they said they are not making any exceptions! They've been so rude, condescending, & not at all customer oriented. My life has been put on hold for months. They've caused so much stress, aggravation, & loss of income. The LL response was that the claim was denied. We purchased America's Mission Olive 12mm laminate flooring from Lumber Liquidators in December of 2014 and had it installed throughout our home (except bathrooms) in our new remodel. We chose this floor after speaking with their sales people who convinced us that this is a very durable floor, which would hold up great to pets and kids. We had the floors installed by a professional and were very happy with the results for about a month. That was when we started noticing the chips all over the floor and the bubbling along the edges of the planks. If a drop of liquid came into contact with these floors, even if wiped up immediately, the surface of the product would start to peel away from the backing. And anytime anything was dropped on the floor they would chip.

We were extremely disappointed because these floors had been sold to us as being extremely durable and multiple employees at the Albuquerque store told us that they would be great for a family with pets and kids. We contacted their customer care line, sure that they would make this right since this was obviously a misrepresentation of the product they were selling. We figured that a company this large would have some pride in their products and stand behind what they sold. Unfortunately this has not been the case at all.

After jumping through hoops we were told to send them a box of our unopened flooring. We did this and a few days later we contacted with an "it's not our fault" letter. They said that they had done internal testing and that based off of the pictures we had sent them and their "internal testing" it was moisture damage. The funny thing is that we didn't even send pictures of the bubbling from moisture, we had just send pictures of the chipping. This showed us that they hadn't even bothered to review our claims before writing us off!!

After this, we requested to see the report on our floors from their "internal tests" and were told "there is no report, just a notation made on the file that the issues of concern are not manufacturing related. I don’t know what the inspection process is except for what I have already shared with you as this is done by a separate entity." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? What reputable, ethical company runs "internal testing" and doesn't document it? At this point we were very frustrated with the company because it is obvious that they have been giving us the runaround. So after many more emails and calls (most of which were never even acknowledged) we were told they would send out a "third party inspector". The inspector finally came and took some pictures and moisture readings and left without giving us any information.

We were contact by Lumber Liquidators a few days later with another not saying it is all moisture related and not their fault. However, their own warranty states that "Your Ispiri floor is warranted against finish wear from normal household conditions resulting in exposure of the paper layer". This is exactly what is happening in our home! We have since asked multiple times to see a copy of the report be the "third party inspector" and have been ignored. We have also requested multiple times to speak with a supervisor, only to be ignored each time.

I would never recommend Lumber Liquidators to anyone. In fact, I will be doing just the opposite. For the amount of money we spent it would be nice if they would stand behind their product and make sure their customers were satisfied and that they were selling good quality product, but unfortunately this is not the case at all.

I was extremely happy with the way my complaint was handled and resolved. I have purchased four different floors from LL and have been very pleased and have received positive feedback on three of them from my family and friends; only one floor did not live up to its claim. When all is said and done, I made the right choice to purchase my flooring from LL and will continue to recommend LL to my family and friends.

Lumber Liquidators continues to defend a product they sold us that is unsuitable and inferior for even the most minimal household use. It's coming apart, and I'm still arguing with them seven months later. In one of their letters (oddly, with no one's name who I could contact), they FABRICATED that our refrigerator caused moisture damage, however there wasn't even any moisture damaged in the kitchen. I imagine this must be one of their canned responses. They sent me a piece of paper with a warranty that must have been made up, because I never received this one. The warranty we received was for 25 years. Even their customer service rep told us the only option we have now is to file a lawsuit against them to recover our losses.

At the time of purchase I told the salesman that I wanted to purchase everything I needed to install my new Hardwood flooring, not laminated 3/4" hardwood. He sold me the flooring and underlayment and said everything else would be included in the install price. After scheduling the appointment for the installer to come out, the first appt was rescheduled, then the appoint for the second was made and the installer showed up 2 hour late. Was only there a total of maybe 10 minutes, and told me I'd have the estimate by that evening. Two days went by... Nothing, so I called and after more excuses was told I'd have it within the hour. 2 hours lasted, I received it and within 10 minutes received a call wanting to know what we wanted to do. We accepted the estimate and was emailed all contracts and told all we had to do was call the phone number with a 50% down payment and we were set to go.

I faxed the documents and then called in the payment. THEN!!! I receive a call from the store, wanted payment for another $620.00. I explained to them I had already made the payment and was told, "NO that's just for installation and this was for additional materials, shoe molding, 3 threshold plates nails and glue." NONE of this extra cost was mentioned by anyone. The salesman who said I had all I needed nor the installer who priced the estimate.

After contacting the store back the additional 620.00 was to have shoe molding the same color as the flooring but I could get natural and stain it myself (this is what I had to do.) Glue was not needed as the HARDWOOD FLOOR has to be nailed, so this reduced the cost to 188.00. REALLY 500.00 to match color!!! I will NEVER use these people again and would never recommend them to anyone. I am still not sure about the quality of the flooring nor the installation but they made sure they had me over a barrel by selling me discounted flooring which does not allow returns also. SCAMMERS and DISHONEST.

Purchased St. James/Bamboo laminate flooring from Lumber Liquidators on March of 2014. Would see how the complaint was escalating, seeing it on every channel, then the lawsuit, CEO resigned. Stay and pay! You are responsible for all the expenses and also pain and suffering!!! When looking in to it, it cannot be denied; we've been sick for months with all the symptoms. Severe sore throat to the point that one of my children could not swallow (this when I did not know about the Formaldehyde). The doctor said it was tonsillitis. Not sure, but sent medication... ok, then severe headaches, dry mouth and throat.

All escalated back in December. Probably because of the extended amount of time that we spend indoors. Closed windows or ... Child number two, congestion, loss of hearing, smell and severe headaches. To include two more members of the household that started with the same symptoms. Then myself, with sinusitis (FIRST ONE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE)!! This after 2 months of sinus pain, headaches, throat so dry at night that I would wake up choking because of the air!!! Frightened to think I would never smell, taste, or hear well again. It had been too long! None of this a coincidence, right?

NO! I don't believe in coincidences. Now to the dirty work. LL has been contacted and on their website. They have you enter the type of flooring you purchased in order to mail out a test-kit. Well, it has been two weeks. There is no way I am going to wait for their "test-Kit" and risk our lives!!! FLOOR WAS PULLED!! Walls are a disaster. Down to bare cement floors. Of course, NO TEST KIT YET!!! Same as others.... "KIT IN THE MAIL". I will not wait. What next? What if this causes health issues for us in the future? Are other products sold the same? Other floor store has about 60% of their laminate flooring from China. Per conversation with sales guy: "It is Formaldehyde compliant". Who is to say? How do we protect ourselves? What procedures are in place when buying these products. Are they tested? Probably not!

After spending a lot of money on flooring, I expected to have a good installation recommendation. The contractor they set me up with was TERRIBLE. They did a horrible job, causing a lot of damage to my walls, ceilings, and light fixtures throughout the installation. They did a bad job of cutting the wood to fit in corners and around edges, and they got glue everywhere. There are actual glue stains in the middle of the floors. They even DID NOT FINISH the job! I was not happy with them so I decided to not have them come back to fix their mistake (bad planning on their part by the entryway door left a strip of exposed wood). But why have them come back just to make more of a mess?

When I contacted Lumber Liquidators about the situation they did not care whatsoever and didn't offer to help in any way. They had my money for the flooring so they didn't need to help anymore. Also, they didn't tell the contractor that he would need to pick up the wood from their warehouse (which I paid extra for!) so we were set back a day when they couldn't start the job without the floor! Bad communication and terrible customer service all around.

Hello. My wife and I went to Lumber Liquidators in Norwalk CT to buy Bamboo flooring for a Salon. The salesman, who was a very nice man, told us we didn't want Bamboo, we would be much better off with vinyl for what we were using it for, we still wanted Bamboo. My wife went back again a couple of weeks later to order, another salesman, pushing the vinyl also. They decided to give my wife the number for a installer so he could come out and look. Again, another really nice man. He tells my wife, she doesn't want Bamboo, I quote, "I've done many Salons, you definitely want vinyl." She finally agrees to take their advice. They show up just like they agreed. The guys were great and the job was complete in a day.

Here comes the trouble. Right away the floor starts getting scratched, within a week it's not good at all. We call the installer who does come out to look, he tells her he's never seen anything like that and the material must be defective, he says to put in a claim with LL. Well, they send someone out to look. A couple of weeks or so she gets an email more or less saying that it's not their fault, that people shouldn't be wearing certain shoes on the floor. Also they shouldn't be using carts either. The carts have hardly any weight them at all.

In other words, they don't want to know anything!! And this flooring was totally what they told her she needed for a salon. I feel really bad for her, she finally saved up enough money to get new floors and now this. Now, maybe two months later they look terrible for new flooring. Oh, and one of the planks are lifting already. We put cheap flooring down in the break room and dressing room from Home D. It's been down for over a year or two. Not a scratch!!! Thumbs down to Lumber Liquidators!! Now she's going to have to pay an attorney to get somewhere with them. We should have gone to a local reputable company that would have taken care of the problem. You think you're saving money but that's not always the case!! Thank you so much for listening everyone!!! We have pictures if anyone would like to see.

Even though an inspector told me floors were sold to me way too wet, Lumber Liquidators denied any wrongdoing and blamed on the installer. Stating they should have moisture tested every single piece before installing, which is ludicrous and would never happen in the real world. I was given the option to pay $500 to have one of their approved inspectors investigate the matter further, but when I contacted the inspector he told me it would be a waste of time as Lumber Liquidators would deny any responsibility. For $2500 in materials it is not worth hiring a lawyer on the outside chance you may win. Poor materials and even worse service.

I feel that you should not technically be able to sell any floor that would scratch by simply sliding the chair from under a table. I bought laminate flooring for several hundred square feet for an eat in kitchen, laundry room and pantry. Although the floors looked nice they are not durable at all in my opinion. When I selected my flooring there was no real sales presence to ask what I was looking for and pick a floor that would suit my needs. If this flooring would not have been durable for a kitchen I expect an honest sales person to say, "This won't do for the area you are looking to use it". I did call to report the scratches and the ease of buckling from a small area of standing water.

It is a kitchen, water and spills happen. The flooring should not buckle under a small spill of standing water. Lumber Liquidators did send out a an installer but they said it was installed properly and told me "Don't use water on the floor to clean it and scratches can happen". I just feel like this was a poor product. I can't easily replace an area. I have to do the entire floor because it is not sold anymore. I am disappointed with the quality. My toddler son likes to play with his toy cars. I am afraid to let him play with them in the kitchen for fear of him irreparably damaging/scratching the floor. It is so annoying.

The sales people at the Temecula store said there was no problem with the glue, but finally were able to get a duplicate bucket which meant another round trip of 40 miles to get it. They showed us that all we needed to do is take a large drill bit to cut through the skin. They showed us with the bucket we took back and it was several inches thick which meant we had not gotten a full bucket once the 'skin' was taken off. This did not sound it was a fresh bucket that we actually paid for. We love our floor, but had a bad experience with the glue.

Although the person was knowledgeable about the flooring and helped us make our decision, she made us feel like we were bothering her. Then when we were figuring out how many boxes we will need she warned us that we can't return opened boxes and there is a 20% restocking fee (kinda high). When we picked up the boxes most of them were already opened.

When we ordered the 2nd vinyl floor she told us they were out of stock. She looked up to see what store had them in stock and looked at me like she expected me to drive to this distant store. I said "can't you have them shipped here?" She told me I needed to tell her exactly how many boxes I would need. I asked why they would just send down a whole pallet to have it in stock in case other people ordered the same floor. She said no, they would only ship how many I want and I would be charged a restocking fee again if I asked for too many. I asked "What if i don't calculate enough? My installer has to leave the job unfinished for the 2-3 weeks you are telling me it takes to ship?" She said "yes." (I don't understand why a store that displays a type of floor and doesn't have it in stock, wouldn't take this moment to resupply that product in stock?)

I had bought the oak premium hardwood flooring. It was installed by a professional and every piece was inspected. Those pieces that were defective were discarded and not installed. Looked great until about a month or two ago the floors but install about a year or less. Some boards are splitting and the ends are delaminating. I called customer service and got no reply, even made a phone call and was told I would be replied to. Nothing... and one month has gone by.

After 3 no show, no call dates for delivery, and finally a phone call saying that before the delivery would be made the account needed to be paid in full, I cancelled my $1800 order. The lack of customer service at the store located in Portland, Oregon at the corner of 122nd/Glisan was amazing. Three appointments for delivery, with no one showing up at all, and not calling to reschedule. I finally went into the store on May 3, after ordering 420 sq. ft on flooring on April 19th, to tell the Manager that I was losing patience.

They reviewed my account, which was a new Lumber Liquidators account, and apologized and assured me that delivery would be made at 6pm on May 5. I received a phone call at 4pm, with delivery schedule for the 4th time at 6pm, telling me that delivery would not occur until the balance was paid in full. I went directly to the store, discussed the issue with the Assistant Manager, who obviously did not care about my business, and ended up cancelling the order because of their inability to deliver quality assistance. This store needs a customer service "gut check". They are horrible, just horrible, and obviously do not care about their customers. Don't waste your time at 122nd/Glisan Lumber Liquidators. Go elsewhere!!

I bought my hardwood from LL. It was installed by the professional you recommended. After a year, I noticed that it started to scallop and you could see white between the boards. I sent you all the information including the moisture report. You advised me you could do nothing for me, that I had to hire an independent inspector to check it. This would cost me $600.00. I cannot afford that. I will never recommend your company and stores and I am writing complaints wherever I can. You are a poor company.

Jackson, MS branch. Bought 9 boxes of laminate flooring before I heard about formaldehyde problems with the products I bought. Within 2 weeks of having boxes, only 1 opened, I developed sinus problems. Tried to return within 30 days (as stated in lengthy invoice, read the fine print!) and they charged me 20% restock. Manager on duty refused to honor and threatened not to take any back at all when facts on invoice were brought up.

I finally bit my tongue and took the rip-off restock just to get away from the defensive attitude and horrible customer service from store manager who said, "I can't do anything about it. Call corporate." Manager who can't help customers is nothing more than a cashier with an attitude. When I drove around back to return, more attitudes from boy who worked warehouse. These guys are selling cheaply made products with high levels of a chemical unhealthy to people and then screwing them when returns are tried to be made. Do your research before you deal with these a$$wipes.

I have had two experiences with Lumber Liquidators over the past year, once at the Ft Myers, FL store and recently at the Sarasota, FL store. I purchased glue together engineered flooring both times and the results were stunning. The flooring I purchased in Ft Myers was a discontinued product and I can understand why as there were plenty of chalk marks on the flooring which along with all of the voids in the product told me that it wasn't first quality material. On the plus side, I was given an incredibly good price on the product and even with probably 25% unusable product I still think I got a great deal though I was told by the salesperson that it was nonreturnable product, and I didn't have a problem with that though at the time I did not realize there would be so much waste. Great for my neighbor though as he used it for flooring in the loft of his barn/man cave.

The second experience in Sarasota seemed to go well though the store manager said some disculpatory disclaimer very fast that he would not repeat when I asked about returning any unused product which was a stock item. That raised a red flag and when I read all of the negative comments online, I was afraid they were going to stick me with the 4 boxes of overage I had bought. When I took the extra boxes back on my return trip to get my thresholds the salesperson was more than happy to take back the extra boxes which surprised me. I told him about all of the negative comments on the internet and about my concerns. While they could have charged me a 20% restock charge per contract, they didn't.

Maybe I just got the right sales associate as the one who sold me the product said he would only take back one box but I was happy with the service I got and I explained to the salesperson that if they did not work with people on the returns that I would be better off going to Lowe's and paying more for a returnable product. I have no problem with being a repeat future customer but it does help to get friendly with the sales people as they can give you information that you might not otherwise get.

Shortly after my beautiful floors were installed they began separating and I knew it had absolutely nothing to do with the professional installer that I used who has installed hundreds of floors. I contacted the local Lumber Liquidators who passed me on to their not so nice Customer Service Dept where I was asked to fill out a complaint form and send in photos which I did right away. Then they started on foolish excuses like he was suppose to install a room divider every 26 feet (which we were never told nor does it make any sense). Then there was this constant back and forth about not allowing the wood to acclimate, which we did for several weeks. I finally stopped hearing from them and they NEVER came up with a resolution. I only wanted them to refund me for my labor and material but now I'm hoping for a CLASS ACTION SUIT against them. After reading what everyone has experience with this dishonest company, I would like to see them SHUT DOWN FOREVER!

They refused to exchange my unwrapped flooring or refund my money because I did not have my receipt. I have $1000 worth of their product half of this has been laid down in my house already. The remaining half is still in boxes in the garage. The customer service number I call just disconnects. I do not feel safe with this product in my house nor would I feel comfortable using the product I have still in boxes.

My husband and I purchased $20K of bamboo flooring from Lumber Liquidators in Pelham, AL last September (2014). We had just purchased our dream house and were performing a series of major renovations. One of which was replacing the existing flooring and carpet with bamboo flooring. Lumber Liquidators HIGHLY recommended a company, Commercial Building Maintenance, to install the floors.

As soon as the floors were installed in October, we quickly covered them because we had more work being done in the house (painting, bathrooms being demo'd and renovated, kitchen gutted) and we didn't want the workmen tracking dirt, spackle, paint, and whatnot on the new floors. Three months later I uncover the floors and start cleaning. I discover that the bamboo quarter round has nails sticking out and splintered pieces all over the place. Some of the quarter round is coming out because it was never fixed in place correctly the first time. Bamboo boards are separating. There are sinking spots throughout the entire main floor. The bamboo was not properly cut around the fireplace. In short, a horrible job of shoddy workmanship.

I stop at Lumber Liquidators in early January, 2015 and show the pictures to the manager, **. The installation is under warranty and I want the issues resolved. I ask for someone else to address the problems. ** refuses to believe that ** did the crummy work because the man has an amazing reputation. He convinces me to contact ** because he will do the right thing and correct the problems.

I contacted the owner of Commercial Building Maintenance and after rounds of phone tag, he finally comes to the house in February. He lies to me and tells me that bamboo cannot be pre-drilled because it is too hard and the splintering is normal. I provide evidence from the manufacturer that the floor quarter rounds should have been predrilled. I show him the fireplace and the sinking areas. He reluctantly agrees to come back with his company and fix everything, to make good.

I don't hear from him for a month. I call him in March and he has died. No, I'm not making this up. His widow has dismantled the company. At this point, I contact HS and start dealing with **. After six weeks of emails, 2 different inspectors, and multiple phone calls, I discover that HS will pay another installer to address the issues but I have to pay $5300 for "items that weren't done by the first installer"--floor prep ($4800), cutting around the fireplace ($150) and moving furniture ($300).

I checked the warranty that is featured prominently on the Lumbar Liquidators website: HSS Protection Plan. The Home Service Store, Inc.'s (HSS) 1-Year Limited Installation Warranty. WHAT IS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. In addition to any warranty extended to the customer directly from the manufacturer of the product or materials used in the installation, the independent contractor will separately warrant that all of its work substantially conforms to the manufacturer's recommendations and follows industry standards and quality guidelines and that, upon notice from customer, it will correct any faults related to defective workmanship or mis-application of the product at no additional cost to the customer.

Should the independent contractor fail to honor its warranty, for a period of one (1) year from the date of substantial completion of the work, upon notice to HSS and only if the work is determined to have been performed in a manner inconsistent with industry standards, HSS will assist in the resolution of such defective work. If the warranty work requires the replacement of a product that is no longer available, the customer agrees to accept a reasonable product match. Funny that I am being charged additional costs in an obvious violation of the guarantee. I completely understand that this is a weird situation. But protection plans exist for a reason, and the reason is to engender consumer trust.

I am a licensed contractor out here in Arizona. I had a project for a client, which included laminating the stairs with matching engineered wood flooring. The material of choice was Remington oak (became unavailable shortly after installation). On stairs a "stair nosings" is installed on leading edge of the stair tread. A total of 9 have cracks parallel to the grain, all in the same locations. There are no fasteners near the damage, as they are glued down with polyurethane construction adhesive (liberally), these all surfaced after one year. Chalk up the defects as milling/manufacturing defects, or poor material selection.

We also installed this floor downstairs (except kitchen and bath) and upstairs. I called customer service, was instructed to file claim form. Did that then, received settlement agreement letter to sign (took a lot of action plus getting Better business bureau involved). I did nothing wrong and they won't stand behind product. I was promised compensation (directly to my clients), signed agreement, and still like many others lied to, and avoided.

I regret ever considering Lumber liquidators. Their "customer care reps" and "claims case managers" are a hoax, and a joke! Probably sub par wage employees with a checklist of excuses and lies to tell right in front of them. I believe they are trained to do these shady tactics! Shame on Lumber liquidators (typical big company crapping on the little people, and treating customers poorly), Home Depot, lowes, or any other "REPUTABLE" company would take care of this! I signed their offer agreement to settle, and nothing, avoided like the plague! Stay clear of these snake oil salesman! They are truly a joke, Cheers Lumber liquidators (Not).

While installing our bamboo flooring in February, the stain was coming off onto us and our clothing. We had acclimated the flooring to the room prior to installation, so contacted the company to see what, if anything, we could do before moving the furniture back into the room. They requested we file a claim. Thought this was a bit overstated as we just wanted some technical advice about the finish. After documenting issue with photos, and sending back unused flooring for testing, 2.5 months have passed and we have still not resolved this issue. We have gone round and round with paperwork, unanswered calls and unfulfilled promises. The only way we get anywhere is nagging new 'ears' at the corporate office, as prior contacts won't take or return our calls. WE'LL NEVER BUY FROM LUMBER LIQUIDATORS AGAIN!!!

When I called to find an alternative, I was told the product I needed could be shipped from another state, but I would need to pay the shipping. I also asked for another comparable floor but was told there was nothing in the price range I had paid. At this point my lease was over on my apartment and I could not move into my house. How do I know if I will ever get what I ordered?

My husband and I purchased "click and lock" Morningstar bamboo flooring from Lumber Liquidators in Woodbury NJ back in the early summer of 2014. We installed the floor (he did one level of our house with his father who is a civil engineer and we paid a contractor who did it as a side job to do the other level). Our floor now has large gaps in between the panels on both levels of our home.

I contacted Lumber Liquidators on March 6th and spoke to a customer service rep who sent me a form to fill out and to send in pictures. I did this that same day and was told I would be contacted personally by him within 48 hours, but potentially a couple of extra days because they have a high volume due to a class action lawsuit (which I saw on the news) regarding chemicals in their laminate flooring. I contacted them numerous times via phone and email since then to no avail. I contacted a lawyer, who sent a letter to the location where we purchased the floor. No response after a couple weeks. I then had the lawyer send a letter to customer service before going forward and filing a lawsuit.

In the meantime, I received a standard letter dated last year by mistake discussing gapping issues and stating that it was not a manufacturer issue but an installation issue. It outlined several common installation issues, including not putting dividers between rooms and also humidity issues. We were not told of any of these potential issues, nor the potential of gapping when we purchased the floor. Both my engineer father-in-law and the contractor are confident that the floors were installed correctly, with proper spacing at the edges, etc. The floors acclimated in my home for over a month before installation. I should also note that I have a small town home, that is not near any bodies of water and I always keep the temperature between 67 and 73 degrees. My house is not humid. The letter also said we could have an inspector come look at it, but implied it would be at our expense.

Today (April 22nd), I received a call from the original rep. He said he was told to call me to discuss my issue. Obviously they got the letter from the lawyer but he did not mention it and neither did I. He went on to talk about humidity in the house and since we did not have a humidity test done before installing that they cannot be sure what is causing the issue but it is not a manufacturer issue. He also assured me that with that said, it is a moisture issue and that we need to purchase humidifiers to get the humidity levels correct in the house and the floors will go back together.

I said that I did not believe that was going to fix the large gaps in the floor, as they were "locked together" when installed. How would they lock back, exactly? I also asked if this actually did fix the issue, whether I would have to keep running a humidifier. He said not consistently, but definitely when seasons change and throughout the whole winter. I stated that I would never have purchased floors knowing that I would have to monitor humidity on 2 levels of my home with 2 humidifiers for months on end in my home so that the floors stay together.

Needless to say, the phone call went nowhere. There was no apology for not contacting me for over a month and a half, and no resolution other than for me to go buy 2 humidifiers. I seriously do not want to have to put money into filing a lawsuit against this company for not representing their products correctly or for not informing their consumers about what to expect when installing their products. I have contacted 2 local news teams. Still waiting to hear if they want to cover this story. I saw a story on the class action lawsuit a few months ago, so I figured I would try. I want the floor removed and replaced and I want to be treated with the respect of a paying customer with prompt attention to my issues.

I feel as though we have no choice but to either deal with flooring that is gapping, either by dealing with it as is or by wasting my money and time by buying humidifiers to humor their notion that the floor will go back together if we do. Problem with that is, I would have to run them on 2 floors throughout months of the year and monitor the levels in my home regularly. This is a hassle that I did not anticipate, nor was I told about when I purchased and before I installed the flooring. Do not buy from this company. You will regret it.
