I do a lot of building and I recently started using Lumber Liquidators. We're redoing a lot of income property that I own. Their flooring was cheaper than what I found at a couple of other places I'd shopped. They were also the regular local so it was fine.

On TV, Lumber Liquidators advertises "great floors at cheap price." But when I go at the store, they're never in stock and I don't like that. I bought a floor, which is not that great but I paid really cheap so I can't complain. I also bought a more decent floor but I'm going to leave it for after the winter, so I haven’t tried it.

I bought flooring from Lumber Liquidators three weeks ago since I'm adding some square-feet to my home. The sales representative was really polite and very helpful. He knew exactly what he was talking about. The flooring is not installed yet because I'm waiting for my carpet guy to come in about a week. After that I'll be installing the flooring myself. It's like a puzzle of which pieces just fit in so I won't have a problem working with it especially since I've installed tiles, carpet, and wooden floors before.

Approximately 2 years ago I purchased laminate for my small house. I had it installed privately. Over the 2 years it has actually been turning to dust in some areas. It's breaking down. It's obviously defective. I reported it to Lumber Liquidators and all they offered me was $500 towards purchase of new floor. No installation. Nothing else. Then they said I probably didn't have a vapor barrier which I have ascertained that I certainly do. Since that time I have heard nothing from them. Just have a big crappy floor.

We have a new home, and needed flooring. It just so happened that Lumber Liquidators had a good sale, so we went and got them. Their sales people were pleasant, easy to deal with, and knew what they're talking about. I installed the flooring. It's still in the drying phase, and it's good, so far.

I bought some solid hardwood flooring and miscellaneous tools from Lumber Liquidators. The old floors were disgusting as I have a dog and I've had dogs and cats previously. The sales reps were all clear, straightforward, and easily understood. There were no complications and all my interactions with Lumber Liquidators have all been easily done. My installer is a woman carpenter who's been working on my house and has installed flooring before. I like the look of the product, and it's easy to work with.

We checked online what Lumber Liquidators had available on sale. Then, I called because we had to drive quite a distance to go to the closest store. Phone was great, the internet stuff was good. We could figure it all out. Then we went to the store for the first time. It was quite late in the evening and we weren't the only ones there till it closed. It was very nice of them to keep working with us. We didn't know if we wanted hardwood. We knew we didn't want laminates. There were a lot of other options so they gave us facts. They showed us on their computer screens what each color would look like in a room. They just went way beyond what we expected. We were so pleasantly, not necessarily surprised, but happy. We kind of thought that's what a store should do.
We didn't have to buy from any one person. One person talked to us and another person wrote it up and gave us our estimates. We bought a box of what we liked, took it home and then called back the next day. It was still on sale so I confirmed my purchase and it was in stock. I went back and it took me three trips to pick things up. We bought 3,000 feet of flooring at 50 pounds a box. It was a lot but they worked with me on picking it up days in a row. They loaded carefully and they always gave me paperwork. Right out to the person loading the truck, they were all extremely helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and extremely nice. It sounds too hard to believe but I'm serious.
We'd never set foot in a Lumber Liquidators before. We didn't know if they'd have samples or if it was just going to be an air conditioned warehouse. It was a very, very good experience. They have good hours. I'm glad I don't work there 'cause I wouldn't want to work on a Sunday. They were even open on Labor Day. They definitely are there for the consumer. They made everything possible for us. The prices were good. I would go back there, even if it wasn't on sale, because the customer service was good. If we move and had to do it again, I would go back there.

I purchased some engineered wood flooring and it was an easy install. It all turned well, but the boxes of flooring had mixed sizes and the majority were full of small pieces. They were only about 2 feet long. So I really had to watch how I staggered them in that. In each box there was only four full-length pieces. But I just stuck with them.

I was totally satisfied with the help I received at the front desk. The guys and gals worked hard to help us decide and even did a price match for us so we could get the flooring we liked. The only reason I gave three stars was the pickup didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked. Overall, it was still a good experience.

I had a section at home with a really bad old carpet. My wife and I went to look at the different floorings at Lumber Liquidators, and the manager was very helpful. We wanted the bamboo, and he was able to explain the different qualities. It was very good. We had the flooring installed by a contractor, and it's great, so far. My wife was there during the installation, and they did a good job. They came in about 11:00 and were done by 5:00. We're very happy. In addition, there was a little section where there's a crawl space, and they did that really nicely. Everything worked out perfectly.

I purchased hardwood flooring from Lumber Liquidators because I've got dogs and it was just getting too difficult to keep the carpet. The sales reps were very personable. I talked to one person first then I did some other shopping. When I came back, I talked to a different person and said, “Oh no, I don’t want to get anybody in trouble because I already talked to someone else and if you're on commission I don’t want to step on anybody’s toes”. He said, “Yeah, yeah. I'm going to steal all his commission.” And then, “Oh, we don’t work on commission.” It was very easygoing. They answered all my questions and it was a very relaxing interaction. My son installed it and said there were quite a few pieces that were not straight and were unusable. With that said, I think the quality could be increased. The price was definitely higher than what I had paid for but its quality is better than my main floor hardwood, so I was not disappointed in the price.

The house we bought came with some of the floors already done in bamboo. It was really dark like coffee and a good chunk of the wood was left remaining down in the basement. I had to cover up the rest of our living room but it wasn't enough so I had to order some extra to finish the job. It went out of date in 2008 and has to be back ordered. The two reps at Lumber Liquidators both seemed fairly helpful and knew that what I was trying to get was something that was out of stock. They didn't try to jerk me around and get me to buy something I didn't need, so that was good.
The only thing that seemed weird and negative was I had called them and asked about the product before I drove up to the Traverse City site in Michigan because I live two hours south in Ludington. Then when I went up there, they told me that they didn't have it so I felt like I wasted a two-hour trip and it was a little upsetting. But other than that, they were straight up with the ordering and they delivered to my house.
I installed the flooring myself and it was fairly easy to work with. The only thing I noticed was the finish on the top was damaged easily by some bumps. Also, some pieces of the product had some blemishes on them probably because it was so old and had been sitting on the shelves for a while. I didn't end up using a good chunk of the wood, but I ordered enough that I didn't need to use every single piece.

Ordered flooring with transitional pieces on August 12th and was told it would come in 5-7 business days. Flooring came in after 2 weeks but no transitional pieces and was told coming in on a truck from Virginia. September 20th it's still on a truck from Virginia. The Canton store was not helpful and rather rude. They have no way of checking on this, I guess you guys have not heard of technology or maybe a phone. The only way you can contact any one is thru email, really!!!
We then contacted the regional office in Virginia and was told it was in the warehouse with no offer to help us. We asked to speak with someone else or have a phone number and we were told they don't have any phone numbers. My wife is having surgery and we need our floor done as I am not able to start until I get those transitional pieces. She needs to have a bed put in that room and right now it has just a sub floor! This whole experience has been awful. It was the first time we used you guys and this happens. What a shame for you as I doing more rooms and will not use you guys again!!!

We've got three dogs at home and they like to use our carpet as a place to go to the bathroom, so we'd like to install hardwood floors instead. Other than taking about three weeks to try and get a guy to call up to come out, measure and install the flooring, the sales reps from Lumber Liquidators were all fine. The quality seems to be good, and the hardwood floor should make the house look nicer than the carpet.

We got engineered Acacia hardwood floors from Lumber Liquidators because we didn’t like the carpet. The sales rep was new, young and inexperienced, so there was a little disconnect sometimes on what we were getting. We got the wrong floor, but they were awesome since they actually picked them up and delivered the right floors on a Sunday. Then they sent a guy out to estimate what it was going to cost to put it together. That’s when he found out that they brought some materials for one kind of job and a floor for another kind of job. But they made good on it and brought us the right things.
Although when we bought the floors, we thought Lumber Liquidators wouldn’t deliver to the house because there was no talk of a delivery fee. We ended up picking them up. We made a false assumption, but there needs to be a discussion on how the delivery is done, upfront when we’re in the shop buying everything. Overall I like the product we got and the people were nice, but if they have a new salesperson, they need an older salesperson with them during purchases.

As I write this letter, I am watching my fiance in the rear view mirror of his car while he loads 8 cases of Reclaimed Porcelain Tile in the back of his car in the pouring rain as the gentleman from Lumber Liquidators stands idle and watches, never offering a hand whatsoever. We're at your Orlando Store on Orange Blossom Trail because we are having our floors installed today, but we experienced numerous phone calls from our installers. We're here now after having to leave work early because we were just informed that we did not order enough tiling for the job to be completed. Now we were a bit confused about receiving this news as we did an estimate with Justin at your Sanford store AND we even had a woman, Maggie, from Wood Floors LLC take EXACT measurements of what the job entailed. Now I'm sure you can see my displeasure with my experience so far with trusting your company with this job.
After speaking with Justin he informed us that "he must have missed that email" as in the email that had our exact specs and admitted to not ordering the correct amount. Which is fine, people make mistakes and he was generous enough to offer us a discount for the additional 8 boxes we had to go 1.5 hours out of our way to get. What I don't understand is how we were told that all details of the job were included (grout, tiles, quarter rounds, and threshold) and now again, I'm being told by the crew installing that they cannot continue with the install until they have the quarter rounds and threshold which we thought and WERE INFORMED were included in the pricing that paid for all the materials.
When we arrived at the Orlando Store this afternoon, after getting lost and calling the store to try to explain where we were on Orange Blossom Trail and how to get to the store, the gentleman in the phone told us "I don't know where the hell you are" and hung up. When we finally found our way, they acted as if they had no idea we were sent to their store to pick up the tiles we were told they had in stock. (Justin sent us there as they didn't have our specific tiles in stock.) Luckily, we were told that the store we were currently at had the quarter rounds that we were informed we needed to order, but told there wasn't much they could do about the thresholds as they weren't sure what thresholds were needed for tile floors.
Now I would hope your employees at a flooring store would be knowledgeable at those things, but maybe I'm wrong. We were told to go to Home Depot and "pick something out that might match or fit." We are extremely disappointed with the service and lack of attention provided to us as Lumber Liquidators customers. I'm hoping the flooring looks so fantastic that I forget about the hoops your employees have made my fiance and I jump through. I hope they are able to finish the job tomorrow as planned even with the lack of material that we were informed we had since we're staying in a hotel room tonight and cannot afford (money or time wise) to do so for an additional night.

We had one room in the house that was carpeted and we were matching the rest of the floors. We went in LL three different times. The first time, we were looking to see if they carry it. The second time, we were trying to confirm that what they carried would match our existing floors and they couldn't provide an answer, and the third time we went, we said, "Well, we'll just have to order it and see if it matches." Also, every time we went in there was a long wait to get somebody to help us, but once LL finally got to us, they were helpful. However, they don't have enough people working there for the amount of business that they have, and so it's very frustrating because I had to go back in and buy a transom piece to go between two different floor types and that took over an hour. Nevertheless, working with the product was easy. Plus, the quality is good.

I had also been to other places like Home Depot and Lowe's, and I felt like I only wanted to be in one place. I knew what other people had and so when I went to Lumber Liquidators, it was a really wide selection.
I bought plank flooring. The sales rep was a nice and polite guy who knew what he was talking about. He seemed very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I had to order an additional 2 BOXES of flooring to complete a job at one of my numerous rentals. I had to wait a week to get the 2 additional boxes. The problem was both boxes were damaged and we had to use 2 boxes to get one box of materials. I called and told the clerk that the 2 boxes were damaged and warped and splintered. I told him I needed 1 box and 2 additional pieces from the second. I asked if they would replace one box of materials for free. He stated yes. I took remaining unused and semi used pieces of flooring back. He said they would not honor the return.
I told him about the product and that I had a tenant waiting to move in and had to use both boxes to get one box of materials. They did not honor the return. So I will buy my flooring from Home Depot and Lowe's. I don't have to wait for additional product needed and they would honor this kind of return. Customer lost. I have 8 more units needing flooring. I will work with the Big Box stores.
Very Sorry John. We will make this right. As a Pro Customer, the store should have introduced you to someone who will own your line of business and offer you first pick on newer styles as a remodeler. Someone will be reaching out to you in 24 hours or less and we'll turn this 2 Star rating into 5 stars with a happy customer. This was a miss on the part of the local store and we'll make it right for you!

When shopping for a new hardwood floor, we were swayed by the great prices at LL and particularly on their bamboo products, so we bought about 900 sq ft for our house. The floors were delivered and acclimated for >2 weeks. We used a private installer who worked on the floors for about 30 min before telling us the boards were defective and he would not continue because they were cracking. I went back to LL and Jack in Colmar convinced me based on his experience that the boards were fine and the installer was incorrect. Despite asking, Jack refused to run any tests on the boards to confirm this assertion, however I agreed to schedule with a LL installer to finish the job. Same thing, installer arrived, worked for 1 hr and then left because the boards were broken.
At this point I had to convince Jack to return all the boards and refund me 100% including shipping. He eventually agreed to do so. The boards were picked up and the refunds were distributed, although it took nearly a week to get my money because Jack was likely not treating my case as a priority. There is still one outstanding receipt to be refunded and there has not been any communication from the store to me despite my attempts to contact them. On the contrary, Bob in the Claymont store was very friendly and had no problem providing refunds for my product and also did not delay in responding to my requests.

I went to the store looking for some hardwood and ended up buying some gorgeous cherry-stained maple. That itself is not what was especially remarkable about Lumber Liquidators. What distinguished them was their customer service. Without a hint of impatience, they asked questions about my goals and walked me through about a dozen samples to help me find precisely what I wanted at a price point I could afford (no pushiness at all). Although I worked with one gentleman primarily, several others chimed in with ideas as we sought to refine the choice which shows good company camaraderie and a corporate desire to have all customers walk away satisfied. On top of this, I paid less for my maple than I would have for just oak at a big box store. I couldn't be happier.
Thank you for the feedback and the comparison when shopping elsewhere - We agree! Our Founder Tom Sullivan wouldn't have it any other way. Pricing is great and we never want anyone beating us on price, but the customer service is always FREE! Sounds like we got the project off to a great start - Thanks for choosing Lumber Liquidators!

This should have been handled better as a mistake and picked up for free since this was a business mistake not ours. The normal floor we did order was great. Forget about hand nailing, there is no way to get through this dense Asian wood. Believe me, I tried. Generally it all looks terrible, but I am trying to ignore it. Then, in less than 6 months we discovered to our absolute horror that this flooring scratches incredibly bad. We are very careful with our floor, use chair leg buffers. etc. Ever seen bamboo growing in the wild? What color is it? Yellow, light tan? To get the dark colors that people want they spray this flooring with some sort of paint. Maybe from a quality company using good, hard products, a painted finish might work.
Not this stuff from Lumber Liquidators. You can scratch through the paint way too easily, allowing massive scarring that displays the blond bamboo beneath. The only way I can see around the splitting mentioned above and the scratches is for me to go back with alkyd paint and painstakingly touch it all up. We are profoundly unhappy with this product. Other complaints found on the internet mention substantial shrinkage, but we allowed the product to accumulate for months prior to install. Perhaps this was not a good idea as they won't take unboxed product as return. Bottom line: there is a reason this stuff is so cheap. You get what you pay for and boy did we find that out. I will never buy from Lumber Liquidators again, and fully expect to replace this floor at expense in a few years.

The job and order did not exactly go smoothly: Planned out the job and we finally decided on the 5" Tamboril wood. 1/2 way into the job, the flooring guy ran into some cull pieces, (bad mill cuts) So they would not all match up and that would have left gaps. Result: I had to stop the job and order more boxes. With the delay and frustration the job got done and the floor looks great.
I just want to commend Joe, the store mgr. at the Hyannis store. He was great on the initial helping in choosing the flooring and really good about changing out the bad cull boxes. He visually saw from the samples I brought back of the off sets. Joe was very nice and professional about handling the whole situation. I was pleased to do business with him. He suggested I get the bellawood mop kit. It was on sale since I bought bellawood. To my surprise there was a weather instrument in it, measuring temp. and humid and a good kit to have for my new floor. I recommend it.
2 suggestions: 1. I would order a couple of extra boxes next time, in case of cull material; so the project does not have to be put on hold. 2. I did not know I needed a stair to floor nose piece. I had to order this separately. There was no delay on this part because of the already delayed cull pieces. So you may want to make a Santa Clause list for flooring projects. A list of all possible needed materials, and check the list twice. Some people may need it, some may not, but it will make customers happy, and will help ensure smooth operations!!! Joe is a good guy, and knowledgeable. He also gave some good ideas and suggestions for other related flooring projects. Maybe a phone call to let him know might be a good idea!!!

I lived with hideous floors since I bought my house seven years ago. The reps from Lumber Liquidators were knowledgeable and helped me figure out what I needed. We considered the water factor and durability since the flooring was for my kitchen and I ended up purchasing vinyl flooring from them. I love it and I installed it myself. However, they gave me these little plastic screw things that I was supposed to put in, which were supposed to snap the threshold pieces on, but they keep falling off. So I'm going to have to figure out a better solution for that.

All-in-all, a very satisfactory experience. Flooring is beautiful and installers did an excellent job. Salesmen were most helpful. I only have two criticisms. We needed only a small fraction of a roll of underlayment and one board out of a box of boards to complete the job. NO RETURNS/NO REFUNDS! WHAT A WASTE!! When we came to pick up second load of material the warehouse people tried to send boxes that had been damaged! We did not accept them.

He went above and beyond to make sure our original order was returned (as it was not what we were lead to believe was in the boxes and 90-98% was not usable). Once we had everything returned he worked at getting us as close to our original budget as possible. The salesman was good to work with. But the flooring was bad. The flooring should have been 5" wide, but there was some of it in the boxes, that was 5-1/16", 5-1/8" wide. Which left me to measure all of the flooring before I nailed it down. Then placing those pieces in the same row. I found this out after I had already nailed some of the flooring down. Leaving to pull it up and waste the material. A job that should have taken less than one day to do turned into two days and a lot of frustration.

It was time to update my floors. The last time I updated it, I bought all Pergo floors from Home Depot. So, I was looking to see what other options are out there price-wise. Unfortunately, Home Depot didn’t have what we were looking for. But Lumber Liquidators had a really good option for what we were looking for in a floor. And, it’s hard to beat their price with the discount that they were offering for the floor that we have purchased. Overall, it was a good floor for the price. It’s such a big purchase and we really wanted to make sure that we know what we’re buying quality-wise and how long it’s going to last. But when we went to the store, the reps were so busy that it was tough to get a bit more information on the different floor types and what we were really getting into.
One of the biggest reasons why I went with Home Depot before, specifically Pergo floor was because Pergo lasts a long time. We have dogs and that was part of our concern. We want to have floors that would survive because it was going to become a rental, too. So that got into play. But when we saw this floor over at Lumber Liquidators the second time, we were able to get samples and talked to them a bit more about it. When I picked it up, it was a really pleasant experience. Their reps helped out to get everything loaded up. It was nice to get the help and they also commented on the kind of floor that we bought and how they also liked it. For the past two months, I thought of using Lumber Liquidators, but I wasn't happy. I’m a contractor and I do business with their competitor but somehow they couldn’t find what I was looking for so I went to Lumber Liquidators to see if they have the material. They provided me with the material that I wanted and I want to know how they work because all the people that I do business with have a retail and a wholesale price. I was supposed to make some money on my deal. The guy that I talked to told me that they don't have a retail and wholesale price but they can work something out. So I said okay and that I'll have my client come here. They just have to tell her that they have enough material, show it to her but they should not give her my price.
I sent my first client over and somebody screwed up and gave her my price. So she paid for the material. When I found out, it was too late for me to get anything but they said they'll see what they can do, but nothing happened. Next purchase, I was going to buy another material and they gave me a price. They told me that some guy will give me a discount. He did call me and send me an e-mail with a discounted price. It was 30-40 cents discount. But my client didn’t buy the materials for some reason, so I didn’t buy it.
I came back a week later, and I said to one of the guys there that my client wants materials. So they had a board on the wall with discounted prices and that they'd give me that much of a price. I showed him my sample and he showed me the price on the board which is a bit cheaper than what the guy told me over the phone the previous time. I asked if they got some specials on the board. He started going through my records on my computer under my company name and he found out that I had another price from someone just 30-40 cents higher. They started arguing on the phone. I said I needed to buy the materials now after they gave me another price, and that I have to make an addition to that. They said they only had the other model and that if I want it, I should pick it up somewhere else but I have to pay now and that they'll give the discount later. So I paid it but they never called me back.
So, two purchases, two mistakes. I wasted two days’ worth of efforts to buy from them for nothing. Then I made another purchase, and I said I'm here to make money and that If I'm not going to make money with it, I’m not coming back. I'm a contractor and I do remodeling so I've got to buy wood floor all the time. So on the third purchase, I got what I wanted.

I'm going through this house in stages, but the floor had to be finished for three years to make it livable, so I did a temporary addition of 3-1/4-inch maple floorings to match the floors. I did prefer hardwood, but I thought it was gonna be a lot more so I decided to do carpet. However, it turned out that carpet was more expensive than doing hardwood. So I decided to go cheap for something that I was just gonna tear out in two or three years. I went to their store looking for a relatively inexpensive, prefinished maple flooring. Everything else in the house right now is 2-1/4, but the 3-1/4 was on sale so I bought it.
I wasn't looking for a whole lot of help when I went there. They had everything there so they just asked me for the size and then they loaded it up quickly. I installed them myself though it needed some spline because of the way the floor was laid. On the 16th of June 2016 Richard Smith (General Contractor) License # 680011 sent a crew to my home to install flooring. The first person to arrive was on time. A very professional. Two hours into the project two others arrived and the project went downhill from there. One of the new crew began to skimp on the glue for the floor and did not complete the work (Enc.). The base board for the refrigerator well was not installed; the base board for the dishwasher extended beyond the end of the cabinet moving the dishwasher to the right. At the end of the day there were plenty of glue and supplies to carry away.

Our experience was far from a pleasure. Last summer included an installer not having the correct measurements, a second installer not showing up in the correct day and then a winter that caused the floor to come apart. This summer started back in March with the replacement floor barely getting installed before our vacation, which our customer care person knew about from the beginning. WE MADE THE CALLS TO KEEP THIS PROCESS GOING. We like the look of our floor but the process, missteps and poor quality of care would make it impossible for us to recommend LL to any friends or neighbors.

As far as customer service goes, Howard from the Fresno store shouldn't be dealing with customers at all! He is rude, gives wrong information, and gets agitated very easily. AJ and Brittney are awesome!!! FIVE STAR SERVICE!!! AJ's goal is to keep the customer happy while keeping Lumber Liquidators looking good. My only problem with this order was that there were 10 boxes of damaged flooring and when we needed to replace it, it wasn't available locally and I had to drive from Fresno to Bakersfield to pick it up.

It took 10 days for order to reflect change. When the tile was delivered it was a different color. It seems the sku used on the two sample tiles was incorrect and I received the incorrect color. We kept the incorrect color because it was a great colored tile that was not available in the showroom. However, the order was 9 boxes short which I am still waiting for a callback on when to expect to receive them. I will say the best thing about Lumber Liquidators is the price of the tile; however, it seems that it's just not very easy to complete a correct order.

Last winter I hired Lumber Liquidators to install new hardwood floors in my condo. They did a pre-inspection, recommended the wood, chose the underlayment, managed the schedule, and chose the installer. After 3 months, the floor had begun to crack throughout the condo. I marked 30 cracks with some in every single room. To put it bluntly, the floor is ruined and needs to be replaced. Lumber liquidators has now concluded that the problem is the result of the natural moisture level within the condo. They are not standing behind their service and are leaving me without support. This is my experience with Lumber liquidators.
We are sorry to hear that you are not a satisfied customer. Your concerns with your fully installed floor have been investigated and the results have been communicated to you from our corporate representative.

This review is for Natural Hickory 3 1/2 inch width. I am a homeowner who installed with help from a handyman. Since this was a millrun grade I was prepared for some lower quality and short boards to be mixed in, but the flooring exceeded my expectations with longer than expected average board length and only a few bowed or dinged boards. Lumber Liquidators in Durham answered my pre-order questions and got the order in from the warehouse quickly. I had about 10% leftover at the end and they let me return extra unopened boxes for a refund with no hassle at all - even unloaded them from my truck for me. I can't comment on the long-term performance of this floor yet since it's new, but so far so good. Thumbs up for both the flooring and for Lumber Liquidators in Durham.

I've used Lumber Liquidators before as a reference for pricing. If they were closer, I would use them a lot more but I'm probably over a hundred miles away. I just happened to be at a job that was closer to them and I was attempting to match up an existing floor and they had the closest thing. Also, I went local and the price was $7.50 a square but I purchased that birch from Lumber Liquidators for $4. The stock wasn't enough and the associate at the store wanted to get everything from the same batch so it would all match, which I thought was professional, and they called me as soon as the floor came in. It was a good experience. Everything was spot on. I did the installation myself and it's a good product. It went in and laid good and tight. It also seems relatively resilient.
Thank you for choosing Lumber Liquidators for your flooring project. We are excited and happy you were able to find the Birch floor at a lower price with us. The refrigerator is permanently marked where it was moved in several places on the stainless steel doors. I have tried several cleaning fluids so far but there are palm prints that are still visible. I want to thank the Lumber Liquidators team of sales staff, especially Tom for aiding me in getting my hardwood floors ordered and ready for pick-up in a timely manner. Not only did they call me when the shipment was ready for pick-up, they gladly made a call to my contractor so that they could pick up the hardwood and have it on-site in plenty of time for the job to begin. Unfortunately, there was some miscommunication between myself and the contractor and there was not enough hardwood to do the entire job. This is where Tom came into play, because time had elapsed since my first order was purchased, which I did during a time when my particular hardwood was on sale (at an excellent price).
When I called for the second order, I explained my situation to Tom and humbly asked if there was any way that I could get the hardwood at the original cost of my first order. He immediately said "That would be not problem!" Again, the hardwood was delivered on time and now, the job is complete. My floors looks beautiful. Thanks to the team at Lumber Liquidators.

We have planned for some time the replacement of carpet with hardwood floors. We did a lot of research and finally selected to use Lumber Liquidators. I was installing this myself so cost and ability to get the materials were the key factors. We went to our local store (30 miles away) and was happy with the knowledge of the staff and the ease of getting our order rolling, plus delivering to our home and into the house. Everything was going great till the packs of nails I ordered did not arrive, and we had two damaged packages that needed replaced. I called the store and they got my things on order to be replaced and told me that they would ship the nails to me.
Well we waited for the nails and in the middle of trying to get them, our sales person went on vacation. So the nails never arrived. I had to find a local store (not very easy to find) to purchase a pack so I could get started. Then I had to drive to the store again to get the boxes I had order. My replacement boxes had not been shipped yet. I then had to continue calling to find the status of the materials to be replaced.
It took weeks to finally be told that they would be in and I could come get them. I showed up and the sales person on hand was new and was not much help. However, after having driven to the store again, I left with one of the two boxes I needed to finish my floor. Then 2 weeks later I finally got word that my last damaged piece had been received and I could pick it up. Another run to the store and I finally got my floor.
The staff was good but I was very frustrated with the lack of expediency to get my materials delivered to me. I would recommend that Lumber Liquidators work on the customer support after initial materials are delivered and ensure that the customer has what they need. All in all a good experience and would use them again. The flooring went in well and I most certainly saved a large bit of money using them. Do not hesitate to work with Lumber Liquidators. All in all you will not be disappointed.

On July 8, 2016 I went to the Lumber Liquidators store in Byron, Ga to look for hardwood flooring for our dining room. While there I decided to pay the $25 measure and appraisal fee. I was told someone would be calling me to set up a date to come by for the measurement. The next date I took my wife to the store to pick out the hardwood. Once we picked out the product, I told the man helping us that I had measured 135 sq ft but wasn't 100% sure that was right. He said that we could always order more if it wasn't right. But instead of ordering the recommended 10% extra for strap and damaged boards he only ordered 144.90 sq ft. When the installer finally came to measure, which took 3 calls to set up, he measured 145 sq ft. When the install happened he was 4 boards short. When we were at the store ordering the hardwood the associate didn't say anything about the installation fee being more because of the room being so small.
When the installer came to measure, he didn't say anything about it also. When I went to the store to pay for the installation, the man that was helping me that day didn't know what the misc charge of $245.45 was for. I myself thought it must have been for the padding and transition piece. Which by the way nobody told about who was supposed to pick up. When the installer came to lay the wood he didn't have the pad or the transition. When he found out I didn't have it either, he called the store. The man he talked to was the same one that didn't return two of my calls, didn't tell me about the extra installation fee and didn't ask me if I wanted to pay for and pick up the pad and transition piece while I was there to pick up the wood.
During that call is when I found out about what the misc fee was and had to pay out more money for the pad and transition piece. If I'd known ahead of time that I had to pay $550.00 for installing 145 sq ft of floating hardwood, I would have gone to Lowe's. I emailed the company CEO to ask for a refund of the $245.45 because no one told me about it in advance, but a "so sorry about that" response is all I got. If this is how Lumber Liquidators does business, I will not recommend them to anyone.

Installer was told to sort through the boxes and eliminate damaged planks but we still had four or five installed in our floor.
Transition strip was cut too long at double door opening and is kicked up along the tile floor side. They had a cool sales rep who helped me out in trying to look for what was in stock and what I could get the quickest. My main complaint is about a couple of boxes that had nothing but shorts in them. 50 square feet of 12 to 18-inch pieces is a lot of work and I can’t really put all those in one section. So I had to tear up box after box and space them out. I can't return them because it's past the return time and I have to pay a fee which is ridiculous, so in the future, I'll have them open every box. Working with the flooring was time-consuming but easy and the quality was good.

Two weeks later I had to call them to ask again. They were busy and said they'd call back. They didn't. So I called again a few hours later. They left a lot of sawdust on the porch, kind of petty I know but I was going to donate a ceiling fan to the Eriskin fire victims I had taken down and it is ruined, filled with sawdust. The floor looks great and I am sure I will be happy with it for years. What I am unhappy with was the overage of flooring needed. I have three unopened boxes of flooring and two thresholds that I don't need. I need to return it, 90 minutes each way. That is what really made this a two star rating, one box is okay to toss, three not so much. So I will lose a half day driving on a dangerous road. When I asked if the installer would handle the return (they brought it up) they said no.

We had a whole cascade of issues using LL to redo our floor. When we placed our order, the person taking the order did not ask enough questions to ensure that the correct items were purchased. This created problems at installation time. The contractor who we scheduled through LL was not only noncommunicative (I threatened to hire someone else twice to get a phone call, email, or text returned... Ultimately did hire someone else because even this did not work) but also took the incorrect measurements. So we did not have enough materials at installation time, not all of the materials that were ultimately had been in the apartment long enough to acculturate since we had to buy them on an emergency basis and somehow we ended up with way way too much of some of the materials (thresholds & T-moldings)
When it came time to pick up the materials, no one told us how big the boxes were. They just said on the phone, "Come by this weekend" and hung up... So we showed up with a vehicle too small and had to make a separate trip. One of the things we were sold, the floor care kit, was an empty box. An entire separate trip was then required to actually get a box with things in it. The only bright spot was John, the manager of the San Jose LL location who refunded what I felt was a fair amount for all of the inconveniences and mishaps. Still wouldn't use Lumber Liquidators ever again... Our contractor that we ended up using assured us our experience was not unusual. It would be worth paying slightly more to avoid all of this in the first place.

My overall service at the Hampton Va. and Norfolk Va. stores was excellent. HOWEVER, I think that the 30 day limit on the return of unopened boxes of wood is too restrictive. I did initial that there was a 30 day limit for return of wood complete with a restocking fee. In reality, most DIY installers can only install on weekends and nights so it takes us longer than 30 days to complete the job. I put down slightly over 1000 SF of solid oak hardwood in my condo. It took me 45 days working weekends to install the wood. I had one unopened box of wood and the Norfolk store would not take it back even when I said I would readily pay the restocking fee. Most self installers need at least 60 to 90 days for the install so with your current policy, we are stuck with the excess. That is just not fair and it makes me want to look for another wood supplier for future projects.

This charge is supposed to get the flooring to the first dry space on my property such as a garage or a porch. The day the flooring arrived I had limited time before work to get it off of the porch and into the house so I brought help. The delivery driver smelled like he had just stopped smoking ** before he pulled up. The driver refused to pull the truck any closer to the house than about 30 yards down hill. I have a gravel driveway and a big front yard that backs right up to the porch. There was no reason other than his impairment for not wanting to get the truck closer to the house. My friends and I ended up carrying most of the flooring ourselves from the back of his truck.
When I contacted the Hickory NC store the next day they said that it wasn't the first time that this had happened with this delivery company. So my question is why are they using them? The employee assured me they would take care of it. Which to me meant giving me some of my shipping cost back. That never happened, the second time I mentioned it to them they just wanted to reassure me it wouldn't happen again lol. Gee... Wow thanks guys! My flooring is beautiful. The shipping charge is too expensive! The customer service is terrible!

We had two problems. First, the wood had a strong odor. But it faded to low levels in two weeks, and was unnoticeable in a total of four weeks. Second, we should have used some leveling material on our older concrete floor. Hint -- if water pools deeply, it is too low. However, the flooring eventually settled and adjusted to the uneven subfloor after two weeks. Otherwise, the wood was without flaws -- all pieces were usable. Out of 12 boxes, one piece was thought to have ugly grain, and was used in a closet. Cutting was easy with an electric mitre saw and small hand saw. Door frames we cut with a reversible undercut hand saw from the box store, for 15 bucks. Planning each transition made it go much easier. We needed the pull bar in The Kit, especially around doorways.

I searched around but could only find the boards the correct width in a few places and they required that I order a minimum of several square feet more than I needed.
Then, I found Lumber Liquidators and was able to order packages of the correct lumber and exceeded the amount I needed by only a few square feet! The cost was very reasonable and the special order boards arrived at the local Liquidator's store about 5 days later. The boards have been installed, distressed and colored by my contractor and look great! I would highly recommend Lumber Liquidators to a friend as they sure saved the day for my project!

I recently bought composite flooring from Lumber Liquidators because I was trying to match it with another flooring that I needed, and they’re the ones that came the closest to having that. I installed the flooring myself. It seems to be good flooring although it’s too soon to tell. I thought it was discounted but they still charged me full price for it.

We went into the Lumber Liquidators store and their staff was very helpful and we found what we wanted. The sales rep I spoke with was very good. The engineered hardwood I got from them is awesome. Still looks like brand-new and the quality seems really good. It was nice that they had it in stock. We didn't realize they had such a warehouse behind their storefront. We were able to load it in the car and take it home that day. We did the installation ourselves. After my wife laid it all out for me, I knew what to do. It was pretty easy. It was a good experience all the way around. The only real drawback that they had told us was about the lengths which were going to be random, but there were more short ones than there were long ones.

The first time I went into the store I waited for about 30 minutes for help because there was an indecisive woman in the middle of deciding what she wanted to purchase. So I waited and looked around. When I finally got some help, the gentleman that helped me was great. He gave me pricing, his honest opinions and recommendations. Exactly what I was looking for. I called back a week or so place the order. When the guy answered the phone he literally told me that I needed to call back later because he was busy with another customer and after 9am someone else will be in the shop to help me. I called back after 9 and placed the order. He was very thorough. I did need a couple transition pieces that needed to be ordered. I was told I would have them delivered to my house by the end of the week, they weren't. When I picked up my lumber (which they had on hand) at the shop, the guy loaded it in my truck for me, thankfully.
I did my floors myself and it was my first time. It was a success and a lot of it was due to advice they gave me and tips and tricks. Thank you. I was disappointed in the quality of the flooring I received. A lot of the pieces were dysfunctional. I couldn't use them. Either they were scratched, the tongue was too small and it wasn't enough to even put glue on or it was missing altogether. On many pieces the tongue was frayed and they couldn't be used. Overall, I would say my experience with Lumber Liquidators was ok. They were educated professionals on floor installation but some of the employees need to brush up on their customer service skills or they need to hire more people and quality control needs to pay more attention to the product they're putting out.

I had a great experience with the associates at the store. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I had Bellawood solid oak flooring installed in my kitchen. The company that Lumber Liquidators supplied was professional, returned calls, answered questions, was on time, and cleaned up! I had two leftover unopened boxes and was able to return them with no problem. There was very few flawed pieces out of the 10 or so boxes used. I also called the customer service number to get an adjustment and was treated with excellent customer service. I was worried in the beginning when I read a lot of the reviews about other people's experiences. But I had a great experience and now a very beautiful, easy to care for, not to mention, affordable floor!!! Thank you!

I measured our house and went to Lumber Liquidators to order our hardwood and accessories. We were informed that LL would send an expert out to assess the home and take measurements. The expert's measurements supported ordering one less box than I estimated. I questioned it but was assured that he was very experienced. We picked up all of our hardwood and materials and made an installation appointment for a week later. We took the materials to our house, opened all the ends of the boxes and awaited the installation.
At 10:30 AM on the day of the installation, we received a call from the manager of the apartments where we USED to live and where the billing address was, stating that there was an installation crew there looking for us. They went to the wrong address. Navigating to the service address was potentially problematic because Google maps didn't know how to get there. It would take to the wrong exit on the interstate and drop you off on a dead-end road. So, I called Corey, the Installation Project Coordinator and called and called, and emailed, and called. Nothing. No response, no answer to his phone (still, to this day I have not heard from this guy).
I called the Arden store where I made the appointment and they were able to contact the installer who showed up at my house at 1 pm. I looked at their orders and according to their paperwork, they went to the service address. Someone had switched the billing and service addresses on their paperwork. The crew was great.. worked hard.. proficient... all good.
Day two of installation @ 4 pm.. "we're short one box of flooring and don't have the proper threshold for the stair and have this extra box of transition that you don't need. Remember the disagreement I had with your expert?" Yeah.. So, I called the Arden store (nearest to me - One hour drive) and told them what I needed and that I would be there in an hour. When I got there, the guy who took my call wasn't there and my materials were not ready. More so, the threshold for the stair wasn't in stock. 30 minutes later, I left with my materials and drove the hour back, so the installers could finish my floor (with non-acclimated wood). They were booked up weeks in advance and didn't know when they could get back if not finished on day two. I called Corey, the absent coordinator.. again.. nothing. again.
Floor looks great. To date, I have 8 boards that have split (all in the "acclimated" area and am just waiting a couple months hoping the wood will finish whatever it's doing. I anticipate the warranty process being a problem and am just not up for the fight. Arden store personnel were helpful and knowledgeable.. issues with everything after I left the showroom.

We got a confirmation and telephone call reminding us about the installation the day before. The day of the installation, we got a call stating that they were going to be late due to overscheduling. That afternoon we received a call saying that they were not sure when we would have our floor installed and that we would get a call early the next day.
We received a call the next day saying that they would be by on Monday to start. The crew didn't come until 1:30 and finished the removal of the old carpet Monday. Tuesday they started the installation. Today, Friday, we are still not back into our rooms. The floor is sticky and there is trash outside. The work that was done is very good, but the scheduling needs to be worked on. We planned the installation during a time a time when I was off work. When that date arrived and I hadn't heard from anyone, I called the installation company who did another 3 way call. Installer said vaguely remembered the call but he must have forgotten to write the date down because the agreed upon date would not work. We then found another date for him to come do the initial measuring. So I took that day off from work to meet him. He again DID NOT show up. No phone call that day or the next, no nothing. I called installation company and told them I will not use this installer. They then set up a different installer, Tommy, and it went smoothly after that.

It appears that I will have to file a lawsuit to get any response from Store manager at Store 299 in Austin TX. My initial store experience was positive. Then it took WEEKS to get all of my product in, despite my choosing an in stock product because time was of the essence. By the time the product was all in, the installer had 22 jobs in front of mine (they would not let me get on the schedule until all product was in).
Then they sent out the LEAST qualified installers with absolute no knowledge of how to cut wood without "ripping" edges. They left the A/C on in the vacant house twice at 66 degrees and 69 degrees. Absolutely a deplorable job with no concern whatsoever about anything but getting paid. There is a gash in T molding that is still not replaced despite the installer coming to the house 3 times. I want my money back for this install and my T molding delivered so I can put it on myself. I can't do any worse than the bozo that did the install. I have more pictures than this.

They were not willing to do the job for the original quote and wanted to charge me an additional $1600.00. Also they were inaccurate with the amount of lumber they sold me so we were short to do the job ourselves. When we went to purchase more lumber they sold us white oak when we asked for red so we had the wrong wood to finish the job. When we called them they said they would not return the bundle of wrong wood since we had opened it. Our floors turned out beautiful in the end because these DIY did it ourselves. Unfortunately since they screwed up our time line we had to cancel a family camping trip to do the floors - a big disappointment for our family.
