The machine causes a bad smell. This is very well documented. I replaced the door seal after it failed (about 6 years of service). The buildup of scum and mildew over a large area of the seal not accessible to cleaning was somewhat shocking. The visible interior surface of the drum was also foul. It is not reasonably practical to keep this machine clean.

Doing a load of wash was an excruciating experience with our new top loading LG washer. Kept stopping, flashing uE or UE signals, requiring a load redistribution which many times did not work requiring more load redistribution! It took hours to do a load of wash, could not leave the house, not knowing how long it would take to complete the cycle. Every so often a load would run right through raising expectations that this washer was finally doing what it was supposed to be doing only to realize that dysfunction was the norm.

We were told we were not distributing the load evenly?! Does it now take a rocket scientist to load a washing machine, obviously with this one it does. We were told maybe we didn't have enough clothes in, just add more! Like clean ones? I thought this was eco friendly? We finally had a repairman (kid) in. He was very nice, and ordered a new computer board saying sometimes the washer didn't "learn right". OK, so I now have a learning disabled washer, but hey it was getting remedial learning! Good... right.

In the meantime I was advised to use the low spin option. About 2 weeks later the new computer board is installed, but was still advised to use the low spin option, really, what's that about, wasn't it just fixed? But anyway, delighted that I now had an A+ washing machine, OK maybe a B+, I loaded it up, still using the low spin option as advised, even after the brain implant, and guess what? The load went right through! Success, she's a genius! Alas, the success must have shorted out the new brain. It's now back to playing the same old games, and me, never knowing when a load will go through as it should. And guess what?? the low spin option is no longer an option! Skips right over that. Maybe she did learn something.

The washer goes unbalanced since I bought it new. I've called LG MULTIPLE TIMES and they have done nothing about it. They finally want to send out a repairman but per my research I have found out that the repairman will change my computer board and slow down the spin on my machine leaving my clothes wet still. This is not what I paid $700 for, it's deceptive trade practice. I've called Sears and LG both and neither is gonna stand behind their product. LG customer service is horrible and if you comment with a negative comment on their facebook page they will just remove it. If LG was a honest company they would leave THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS UNTIL THEY RESOLVE THE ISSUE.

4 months after purchase of this LG Top Load washer the basket bangs, slams, smashes like crazy. Have to shut it down each time. Will not level no matter what I have tried. Leveled all legs, machine etc. Tried spreading cloths around. Big loads, small, loads everything but the basket feels as if it's busted and floating. I tried calling LG, Sears, Kenmore etc. Of course everyone states that it's not warranted or under any type of recall. I paid about $1,000.00 for this plus $900 for the drier. I am forced to purchase another new one as I was completely scammed with this LG Top Load washer Inverter Direct Drive TrueBalance junk. Will never again purchase anything made by Sears, Kenmore or LG. Notice the big letters 10 YEAR WARRANTY!!! Another consumer marketing LG scam.

I just finished sorting socks and underwear that I washed today. Once again I am so angry that I purchased a LG top load washer. It has been a disappointment since the beginning. Today I found a pair of underwear that were ripped and tore and a sock that too was ripped and tore. Both had marks of rust on them also. This along with the fact that in order to get whites clean and jeans and work clothes I have to set the washer on SOAK, and push the button twice for "extra rinse" and a load of clothes usually takes anywhere from 2hrs - 2hr:20min. In the past I had taken jeans out of the washer after a normal wash cycle to hang on the line and there was still dry dirt in the creases. The main reason for purchasing this machine was because of its large capacity. Well that did me no good at all.

I had a tech come out to check the machine after complaining to the manufacturer, and he quizzed me on the type of laundry detergent etc etc to find out I was doing everything right. I also was told to weigh my loads and not to wash more than 10-13 pounds at a time, Oh my goodness. Yet that did not help either. I do not recommend this machine. Worst washing machine I ever Owned!!!

We purchased our home in 2/2015 which came with LG washing machine purchased in August 2013. Machine started showing UE/balance error by September. In first call to LG, we were told we needed to level machine. We did so, but machine was already leveled. Soon after, UE warnings began to appear during sheet washes and tub cleans. If we are not on top of the cycle, machine will run for hours spinning and then refilling then spinning again.

Called again and told since we were out of two-year warranty we were responsible for call and repair. Technician recommended by LG said circuit board was gone and would cost $300 for part. One more call to LG, and we were told they could do nothing for us. Technician said to just purchase new machine as we would be throwing good money after bad. So we are replacing two and a half year old machine that was used since purchased by two owners who were retired couples and have minimal washes. A huge piece of junk. I would NEVER purchase an LG appliance again.

Bought LG (TrueBalance) machine 2 yrs. ago. It will NEVER stay balanced. I have called the company and their reps are so inexperienced and unhelpful (I think they read from a script). It runs and re-runs water. I have to stay right there watching it constantly!! Does not get clothes clean at all, even though it sometimes takes over 2 hours to do 1 load. Clothes are still pretty wet even when it completes. I wasted a lot of money on this machine and now need to re-purchase one that works properly. I don't even know what to do with it, I would never try to sell it to anyone else. It has been a nightmare and I have done everything I know to try and fix it. Bought a set of LG products and Never AGAIN!!! I bought them both and about six months later, the washer literally burst open... from the inside out. The top portion with the lid and button flew off the machine and came back down crooked. It was a top loader. The top of the drum was facing the back of the machine. They came and replaced which took a month. One year later the new machine just stopped working while the tub was full of water. We put that one aside, thank god we planned ahead, and bought a second-hand washer and dryer.

We have been using the old one since. Not worth fixing the stupid thing, now the dryer has been acting up for a year... It runs for two seconds and stops but while it stops spinning it's counting down. I called LG and they stated that it was due to the coldness of my basement... It is pointless to fix these POSs. Big costs, cheap parts and worthless customer service, we will never give this company one red cent!!!

DO NOT BUY this product and "buyer beware". Probably should avoid all their other products when they don't want to do anything to correct their product problems.

The washer will not use and flush the laundry detergent, hence the clothes smell as dirty as when I began. I spent $800 for this machine and the clothes are absolutely filthy after washing with this machine. Like, I would have to take them to the coin laundromat. I am embarrassed to let guests use it. It is nasty. It gives me error messages of being unbalanced even when I am doing a tub clean cycle and there is no clothes in the machine at all. I've had the service people out 3 times. They did nothing. Finally LG decided that the problem could be fixed – the month after my year-long warranty expired. Now they want $200 to fix the same problem I was calling them about all year. I am so frustrated. I am going to throw away an $800 washing machine because it is absolutely disgusting.

We bought our LG washer and dryer in 2010. The washer has a recall on it. Sears came out and supposedly repaired it with a software upgrade, but now instead of rocking like it was going to take off, it stops in the middle of cycle and we sometimes have to start the cycle 1 or 2 more times before it will finish washing. If that is not bad enough, our dryer also has the thumping problem and a warped drum.

I made the grave error of signing up with a homeowners warranty company, and they had the nerve to say that the worn drum rollers and warped drum are not mechanical problems. Hmm, I suppose that is cosmetic. That is another story. To make long story short, I now have very expensive and attractive washer and dryer which will more than likely need to be replaced. I agree with everyone else, we need some representation and LG needs to cough it up. They certainly don't mind taking our money and ignoring the problems with these very expensive door stops.

Did a large kitchen remodel about 3 yrs ago and bought all brand new top-of-the-line LG appliances... It has been a nightmare with every single appliance from about the first week through the first 2 yrs. Let me begin by saying that I traveled about 10 months straight every year and only home for the holidays. I live alone. My appliances get very very little use.

The french door stainless steel refrigerator (don't have model numbers at the moment.. this is a review in general of my LG experience) had problems from day 1. The light bulb and fixture within the fridge burned so hot that it completely melted the housing within the first week. Warranty replaced it.... 3 more times with various bulbs. I finally left it out at the last time when the warranty expired. The next problem was the rubber seal between the doors. They constantly rub and fray over time and replaced twice... Again... This appliance gets VERY little use.

The HE Washer and Dryer have been well below my standards. The washer seal collects water and becomes stagnant and smelly... making my clothes smell. I do very little laundry when home obviously. I have to completely clean and dry the ENTIRE washer before leaving town. The dryer has been the worst of it all and expensive fixes. Twice in 2 yrs the heating element pulled so many amps (I am an electrician) that it started an electrical fire through the power cord with the dryer. This burned the socket and the cord and had to pay for the heating element to be replaced both times as warranty had expired in 2 yrs. I have moved both units into the garage and purchased a good old standard set of machines and have had no problems since.

The dishwasher.... oh man... this thing... I have spent more on repairs and replacement parts than the cost since the day the warranty expired. First the control board went out 2 times in 2 months of being home. Then, came out to a flooded kitchen 3 times in 2 yrs. This was from a faulty regulator in the dishwasher that allowed the water to flow to the drain in sink. With all of these "great features" in the dishwasher.... My dishes were constantly covered in dried soap spots using the recommended dish soap. I had a plumber come out to see if maybe the water pressure was too low to rinse and he actually had to back it off. The dishwasher gets the least amount of use... Already the racks have begun to corrode and rust through the coating even though it is rarely used.

All in all with everything said and done.... the quality of these expensive appliances has been well below standards. Customer service I did not like as once the warranty is expired they practically disown their product and "recommend" local service and repair shops or retailers. The previous appliances were GE and Whirlpool that were 30+ yrs old when I got the house. Never an issue and they worked just fine. I know that LG will not be getting anymore money from me as I have become so fed up with the issues and the paranoia of failures from using my LG appliances that I have already decided to replace them all...

I have enclosed the most recent pictures of the damage/issues that I could. The refrigerator picture shows the most recent fix and where it had started to melt the housing again. I do not have the old housings but this one was remounted (it gets so hot that it melts the plastic and starts to hang) by the service guy when he replaced the rubber seals about a week ago.

The dryer picture is obvious. I have rewired the house long before the new appliances and luckily this 2 times issue did not cause damage to the wire or wall or breaker. The receptacle and cord are what burn up when the heating element first starts to heat up upon starting the cycle. The washer is obvious as this is the only issue for now. 3 yrs of owning this dishwasher and I have literally ran maybe 20 loads of dishes in that time. Again.... I was never home... and holidays are usually spent with family.

My home warranty company TotalProtect Home Warranty (Cross Country Home Services) came out to repair our washer. They discovered an LG Recall from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and refused to make repairs because it was under recall. So, LG was responsible for repairing it. The recall stated the washer becomes unbalanced and causes personal injury and property damage. Luckily my washer just broke. It has been 3 months and multiple LG repair companies later and LG has not repaired our washer.

Every LG service company that we called or came out to make repairs claims they can't repair it, LG did not authorize repairs, or the recall did not cause the damage. LG's customer service (800-243-0000) promised they would make repairs and they gave me a CNM # and APM # that supposedly authorized the repairs. I even filed an ethics complaint with LG's company HQ. I heard nothing back. The recalled washer is product number WT5101HV. LG gives you the runaround and frustrates you so you give up.

We bought an LG top loading washing machine in July of 2014. Initially, everything seemed to be okay, but after the warranty expired, the machine started showing the "ue" code. We tried everything the owner's manual suggested to no avail. I contacted the LG service center and was told that it would cost 224.94 for a one time repair. That would have been acceptable, except that LG wanted the payment "upfront"! Now, I don't know of any business that requires upfront payment, except for special orders. We ended up calling a local service company for service. We will see how that plays out. He is scheduled for about two weeks. I will never buy an LG appliance again.

We purchased a LG Red Washer and dryer front loading machines with two WDP4R Red pedestal. WM2650HRA washer and DLEX2650R dryer in 01/18/13 with just a few days of delivery we noticed the drum wobbled and didn't seem to balance well. So we called Home Depot where we had purchased them and they sent out a repairman who told us after getting rid of our 29 year old washer that we had a lot to learn about the new washer and dryers. What an understatement that turned out to be. He told my wife we would have to learn to sort clothing by texture as well as color, in order to get the tub to not wobble as much. I couldn't believe he said that and went on to say I have a lot to learn and stated we as consumer have been ripped off.

He went on and said that due to environmental concerns and government mandates to manufactures this is what we have to deal with. Over time the washer started to make more and more noise and about two years from the date of purchase the noise has become deafening, so I called a repairman and he told me to take the phone in the laundry room so he could listen over the phone and told me, we had a bearing out, and the repair cost would be $950.00 to repair the washer. Keep in mind we have two people in our family so we have 4 to 5 loads of washing a week on average. For LG to take advantage of consumers with inferior washers is wrong and a class action lawsuit against LG should be started.

What a disappointment!! A few years back my husband and I purchased new LG appliances for the kitchen and also a washer and dryer - all LG products. Paid a PREMIUM price - all the bells and whistles. From day one there has been nothing but headaches with every item we purchased. From the interior finish in the oven flaking (LG and Home Depot would do NOTHING to help us. We had to purchase new range!!), to the microwave falling apart, the drying faulting out and now this horrible washing machine!!

Between the mold this machine creates (yes, I leave everything open and wipe it down after each load), not always working correctly (gets confused...) now the drain motor needs to be replaced which has been estimated at $300 parts and labor!!! This is ridiculous!!! What a piece of junk and SHAME on LG and HOME DEPOT for not producing/selling reputable products and standing behind those products!! Now in the past month the washer started making a loud noise during all cycles of the spin including slow and fast spin. Contacted LG who sent a tech and they said it is the outside drum and bearing which will be over a 400 dollar repair.

Now a new LG can be bought for 645 so I went to HD and ordered a new Washer, same LG brand because the salesman said I could still use the 249 dollar pedestal if I went with the LG brand. Today LG deliveries came with the washer and said they will not install the new washer on the Old pedestal since it was not bought from them now and they will install only if I ordered another 249 dollar new pedestal from them again. The delivery guys were rude so I told them to take the washer back so I can buy an alternate brand along with its own matching pedestal. Earlier this year we purchased a new LG Washer (WM4270HWA) and Dryer (DLEX4270W) through The Home Depot. The washer was delivered and installed in our home on Feb 21st, 2015. The dryer arrived on March 2nd. Both machines operated beautifully for about 8 months. They are MUCH quieter than our previous 20+ year old machines, have a nice feature set, and save water. However, in early October, the washing machine developed a leak and dumped a LOT of water. Fortunately, we had taken the precaution of placing the washer in an overflow pan, so there was no apparent damage to our home. I initially contacted LG warranty support to have the washing machine fixed on October 6th, 2015. On the good side, I found their representatives to be quick to answer my phone calls and they were always courteous. On the bad side, they are completely ineffective and incompetent. Ultimately, I fixed it myself.

6 October 2015, 9:45 AM EST, I called LG Warranty support to report the issue. I spoke with the representative and provided the washing machine serial number. The representative verified that the washer was under warranty and stated that I would receive a call in 2-3 days from the service scheduling team to schedule a service appointment. I requested and received an incident reference number. 8 October 2015, 11:10 AM EST, I contacted LG to check status on the service appointment. The representative indicated that scheduling team may take 3-5 business days to schedule an appointment.

13 October 2015, 11:30 AM EST, I contacted LG to determine why I had not yet been contacted to schedule an appointment. I was informed that the Service Scheduling Team had started the search for a local service provider on the 8th and that the search should be resolved on the 15th. I was told that if they could not schedule an appointment, they would arrange to replace the machine. The representative stated that the time to resolve the service request was unknown. The representative also indicated that the request had been escalated to the top-tier scheduling department, but that it was not possible to check status or contact anyone in that department directly.

15 October 2015, 5:55 PM EST, I received a phone call from an LG service representative. They had made arrangements to have the washer serviced and the service representative Jeff (last name & phone number omitted) would contact me shortly with appointment details. I called Jeff directly to confirm and received a message that his voicemail was full. I left a callback number. 16 October 2015, 8:10 AM EST Called Jeff again. The voicemail was still full. Left my callback number again. 1:40 PM EST Called Jeff again and left a voicemail. Jeff eventually returned the call and we scheduled a service call on 19 October.

19 October 2015, Jeff arrived at the house and spent about an hour on the phone with LG. He did not disassemble the washing machine nor inspect it in any significant way. He did order a replacement pump. I was informed that the part should arrive later that week. 27 October 9:25 AM EST, I called and left a message for Jeff to find out status and set up a time for the repair. I requested that he call me back as soon as possible with this information. 2 November 2015, 8:00 AM EST, I called and left a message with Jeff to get status and schedule the repair. I requested a call back that day with status.

6 November 2015, 7:20 PM EST, I called LG Customer Service to find out what was going on. The service representative was aware that a technician had been assigned and parts ordered. I explained that the technician had visited, ordered a part, and had been unresponsive for 3 weeks. She attempted to contact the technician while I was on hold and could not (no surprise, it was after business hours on a Friday). The service representative indicated she would contact the technician on Monday and call me with status.

7 November 2015, 1:00 PM EST - After a month with NO effective action and washing laundry at the neighbors house, I removed the top of the machine, ran a 15-minute cycle, and identified the source of the leak as a disconnected vent hose in the left rear corner of the washer. I Googled for service diagrams and found it was the hose at the top of part F430 in the diagram. 2:20 PM EST I called LG, explained the situation with the technician and my lack of satisfaction. I requested a service manual be sent immediately. The representative took my email address and claimed the service manual had been sent.

3:00 PM EST I contacted LG via live chat and inquire whether the service manual had been sent. The representative on the chat stated he could not access the manual.

3:25 PM EST, I called LG again. The representative read my email address back and it had been recorded incorrectly (though we had verified it on the phone the first time!). I verified the correct email address again and she resent the manual. 3:45 PM EST, I did a web search on LG drain vent hose routing and found a diagram showing the correct connection to a fitting on top of the washer drum. I reconnected the hose and since then the washer has been fine. The LG representative that I spoke with on 6 November did eventually call back and offered to start the scheduling process all over again with another service technician. I told her that their service was abominable and that I had repaired the issue myself. We were done. The service manual never arrived.

I live in a major metropolitan area with over 1 million people within the county boundary. I am amazed that LG couldn't find a competent technician in the area that could provide prompt service. The inability to email a simple service manual after 3 attempts is equally ridiculous. I will say that most parts appear for the washer appear to be reasonably priced. In the course of my internet research, I found that most design flaws noted in earlier versions of the LG washer had been corrected in my washer. The fact that the hose popped off the fitting may have been a random occurrence. The machine has performed well since. Some closing thoughts: (1) Don't ever install ANY washing machine without an overflow pan that has been connected into your houses drain system, and (2) If you are considering the purchase of an LG appliance or other product, based on my experience, I wouldn't expect LG to honor their product warranties.

I bought an LG washer/Dryer July this year (2015). The water pump sprang a leak. Went online and submitted for repair. Got a local appliance place to fix it. Talked to rep from local shop, said they couldn't get LG parts to answer or return call for 2 days. At this point I haven't had a washing machine for 6 days. I called LG rep to contact local rep and get this taken care of. If LG does get it shipped by tomorrow, Friday fall on a holiday. Local dealer won't get the part until next Monday the 4th of Jan. 2016. This will be going on 2 weeks without a washer. This is unreasonable to me. I went with an LG product because of the Quality and support that I haven't received as of yet. I would hope that a senior representative would read this. Unsatisfied Customer!

Customer service appears to be a call center in India. They told me that there were LG models recalled for this same issue, but not my model and that it must be my fault that this issue occurred. Rust stain spreads each time I use machine so that eventually it will ruin my clothes if I keep using it. Very disappointing.

Washing Machine Model WT1101CW - There are several issues, the top being that the washer does a poor job of cleaning clothes. I've had to soak white shirts in bleach to get out normal dirt. I've had to wash clothes twice and three times to get them to even smell clean. I had a 20 year old Maytag prior to the LG and I'm ready to get rid of this one after only having it 3 months. A second issue is that it leaves a full tray of water in the dispenser after the cycle is completed. I have to dump out the water every time. I called for service and they will not come out for that issue - stating that they only respond to technical issues and that's not technical. What??? I've followed all of their instructions - and even called them 2 weeks after having the machine. No response from LG.

Almost every load we do whether it's a big load or small, light stuff or bulky, the "UE" error light comes on. Sometimes it is on while the machine is still filling or rinsing. Sometimes it is on and the machine has come to a stop. You can never predict when a load or which load this is going to happen to. The bottom line is it can take a whole day to finish a couple of loads. Today we did two load. Total time from start to finish was a little over five hours!! Supposedly, you can pause the cycle and redistribute the load manually and that will cure the problem. Yeah, it will for about 5 minutes until the "UE" comes on again! Knowing what we know now and having suffered with this for two years, we would NEVER buy another LG HE washing machine. If the damn thing wasn't so expensive, we would have gotten rid of it a long time ago. It's so bad now though that we are probably going to do just that - get rid of the thing.

LG makes it difficult for repairmen to buy parts. This forces you to use their customer service. I understand the rationale in this, it can help the company ensure the machine gets fixed by an LG approved repairman. Having said this, the LG customer service is based in the Philippines. I don't blame the workers there who are trying their best, however, their training and product knowledge is so limited they are unable to think rationally about a course of action for my problem. I can't prove this, but it seemed that my calls with questions about my LG washer-dryer (which broke 5 times in 2 years) prompted the service centre to consult a script instead of thinking and answering.

I wondered this because their answers did not address my question. Based on the other reviews I've read, this will be my first and last purchase of any LG product. It seems they are designed to be attractively cheap, but break easily, then have poor service to correct the problems. I will never endorse this company to any colleagues.

After using LG washer WM4270HWA several months, the ink writing is coming off from the washer's front panel and front panel buttons. Please look at the attached picture. The panel was not cleaned using any cleaners. The only explanation is there can be some detergent residue on the fingers after loading the detergent (coming from the detergent bottle or cup). It will dissolve the ink.

This is the design problem since it has to be assumed that you are dealing with detergent and LG could cover the front panel writing with transparent plastic or film as they actually do on Power and Start/Pause buttons, proving that they are fully aware of the problem. They could use other inks or just glue the stickers that can be replaced later. Unfortunately, they didn't think much about it and went with the cheapest solution, and this is not the cheapest washer model.

Finally, they refused to replace the panel saying it is a "cosmetic damage." However when all letters will be gone how to select the washing options? It will be a functional issue. Having extended warranty is not helping either, Home Depot, where the washer was bought, is saying the same. One of their suggestions is to take a marker and write on the panel. Ridiculous nonsense. Be aware.

I am in line with the numerous reviews I read concerning the quality of LG's product, specifically the model WT1101CW washing machine. Mine rarely completes a load, of any type, without giving the ue or UE error codes. And the machine programming is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. For example, when it finally does get to spinning good, it will stop only to restart so it can screw up. Maybe it is intentional. You can't rely on the machine to complete a load. You HAVE to babysit it and restart it up to several times for each load.

It takes so much more time, energy and water than the old school machines. Why are they allowed to bill it as high efficiency or energy efficient? I have talked to LG many times about this and did everything I was supposed to do from checking machine level to letting AE claims technician come here because LG said it needed a software update to lame advice like using low spin speed. The bottom line is LGs product, customer service, and technical support are of the poorest quality. I had a waterfall in my finished basement, the ceiling destroyed and furnishings soaked. The first floor where the washer was the hardwood flooring buckled a couple days later. I took it with a grain of salt, just clean it up and fix it. The part cost less than $10.00. There are YouTube videos to show you how to replace it. The hardest part of changing it was getting the heavy washer moved out to access the back to remove the cover.

Part replaced, washer working fine, I am happy. Now just clean up the damage it caused. December 13, 2015, the same thing happened again. I am not taking this mess very well a second time. By the time I was finished trying anything I could think of, the 30 days I had to return the washer were gone and I had to keep this totally inefficient machine. This item has been nothing but a perpetual frustration. It rinses clothes with soap, it does not wash. We moved into a new house 5/2015, and as a "present" to ourselves, bought a brand new stackable LG washer and dryer that had been highly recommended in Consumer Reports. We bought LG 4.3 CF WM3370HWA and LG 7.4 CF DLEX3370W from Lowe's in Everett, WA. This is a front loader washer. From day ONE this washer would not get clothes clean. It does not matter if you use the recommended detergent (my previous ten-year-old Kenmore used whatever you wanted to put in it, and got things sparkling clean), doesn't matter if you add bleach. It won't do a small load, and we are a retired couple so we don't have huge loads! It also won't wash a load of sheets - it balls them into tiny balls. If you try to wash a mixed load with a couple towels, you repeatedly get the UE (uneven load error). I constantly am standing on my head rearranging a sopping wet heavy bunch of clothing. I NEVER had this before with my top loader Kenmore!

It also does not add the detergent in the first part of the wash - it doesn't add it til like 35 minutes into the wash. God help you if you add bleach, everything comes out smelling like none of the bleach is washed out. It makes a very loud chunking noise while filling, also. When you wash socks (and mind you, we are clean people who do not have pets, so it's not like our floors make filthy socks)...the socks come out looking like they have not been washed at all - the knit on the bottoms are still depressed from walking...and the socks are not fluffed up at all!

We called Lowe's, and they said you have to call LG. So we called LG and they sent out a "repair person". HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. First words out of the guy's mouth when he got there - "I have twelve visits today and I can't stay past 30 minutes..." Then he went over to the washer, pushed buttons on it a couple times, pronounced it fine, and started to leave. When we stopped him to ask questions, he got very defensive. We told him "It's NOT fine, it won't clean the clothes!" He said "Well, it cleans them, just obviously not good enough for YOU." I showed him the dirt on the socks and he said "Well, add more water!" So I said "Can you please at least stay through a cycle so you can see that it is NOT doing what it is supposed to do?"

He refused. After he left, we tried pushing the "add more water" button (which means none of the preset wash choices work...you have to do manual wash selection every time) and it still did not get the clothes clean. Also, yes, there is tons of crap that accumulates in the virtually uncleanable rubber gasket, and yes, we leave the door open 24/7. So far no smell, but I think that is because I use bleach so much and leave the door totally open.

Now for the dryer. IT WON'T DRY CLOTHES unless you put it on timed dry and high heat! And still, it balls everything into a ball! Our previous Kenmore never did this! And it also has one of those rubber gaskets on the door that fills with lint and you can't clean it out! We paid $2,089 for this piece of crap set and that is a lot of money for a retired couple on social security and a small retirement. I think I hate the LG people for selling an inferior product and not blinking an eye about it. I only wish I had seen this page of complaints BEFORE we bought this. PLEASE DON'T BUY ANYTHING THAT USES SENSOR! Sensor does not work. Please don't buy a front loader LG. THEY DON'T WORK. And when we called back LG and asked for a different repair person, they told us there was no one else...it was him or no one. Have a nice day. Click.

I purchased an LG top loading washing machine Model WT5070CW 3 years ago. The machine is not heavily used as we only have 2 people in residence. The area around the left front of the machine where the bleach is inserted, is rusting badly. I have talked to 2 different people representing LG and they tell me that it is not covered by any warranty. I was also told to write a letter to the office of the president in Alabama, with my problem. I have done this and await a response. Based on the reviews that I have read so far, I do not expect any positive outcome. We were told by the first individual we talked to, that spilling the bleach around the insertion area will cause damage because bleach is corrosive. This is definitely a design flaw. Some protection to the metal should have been designed in to prevent any damage from corrosive liquids. As the rust gets worse, I believe a safety issue will result because of sharp edges.

They sent me an email... "that the rust in your washing machine bleach dispenser is a result of the detergent or other additives being spilled that have not been wiped clean. Chlorine bleach is corrosive and will erode the finish if not cleaned immediately. If any spills should happen make sure to wipe it up immediately and the area cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth. Touch-up paint maybe use to cover the area, if not service may be necessary."

How could LG design a washing machine that uses bleach and detergent knowing full well that it might get on areas besides the stainless bin and get under this area and all around the entire top of the machine and rust out. That is what happened.

When started it doesn't release water, but it releases water in burst so many time and it waste so much time. Drum keeps turning without water or just barely wet for about 5-6 minutes, depend on its useless programs. Half of its programs are dedicated to Steam-Wash. So if you don't use Steam, half of its programs are completely useless, while they could have add just one steam-key as an option to all programs.

WORST OF ALL: it doesn't release enough water to clean the clothes. In fact there is no standing water in washer. They are just barely wet and there is NO option to add water in any program. So as a result I have to wash my clothes twice every time. Completely waste of time. Inside washer is so dark, and you can't see inside to know what's going on. Each program is unnecessarily too long. It just sits idle and does nothing or it spins in one second burst-like and stops or it turns in weird manner not seen in other washers. It sometimes turns too fast, and clothes are just attached to inside drum's wall and they don't go through churning motion. It doesn't spin after each rinse to extract detergent. As a result if you don't wash them twice, clothes will come out with powdery stuff on them after dried up.

There are no options to had rinse or fast spin to any program. Inside drum surface is NOT smooth, and has rough edges to touch on each and every holes as if they are done from outside to inside rather than inside out to make smooth inside surface. These many rough surfaces will absolutely wear and damage clothes. In addition there is another double horizontal line with rough edges across inside drum, and no one knows what it is for.

This is very NOISY Washing machine. So-called OPTIONS on these washer are just that. If you want to change temperature, for example, then other options also change on its own without giving you choices or options are limited when programs are changed. Brief summary of this awful washer is: it doesn't put out enough water to clean the clothes - just make them wet, each program is too long, no option to add rinse or spin. I could add several other deficiencies, but enough said. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER.

This is the worst purchase I have ever made. My old washer did a perfect job and I wish I hadn't purchased this crap. I'm out $1600.00 for something I thought would be amazing. After the Heavy Duty cycle, the clothes would come out with mud. Always have to use the Bulky/Bedding cycle. Machine would freeze up and finally wouldn't reset.

They replaced the control board and found a wire that was never installed correctly so sometimes it would connect and sometimes not. Now just this month it would constantly be uneven and finally froze up. It was the main part under the drum that controls the machine that went out. Only 2 years old and this is the machine I am stuck with. Thankfully I bought a 5 year extended warranty with it. Once that is up, I will not buy another. Cycles take forever. You get the UE Uneven Code a lot with towels. It is not water efficient when it will constantly refill to make it even, spin and do it over again because it is still uneven.

Also it does not clean clothes well. The technician said it does not clean clothes well because I have well water (it is filtered and very clean water) and said that this washer would not work unless I did very large loads. He said 5 towels at one time not enough. Also LG will not do anything about it unless it is deemed un-repairable. Their technicians are trained with a list of excuses not to deem un-repairable as you can see above. Specifically, the horizontal pressure on the wash tank bearings results in the failure of the bearings and the rotor assembly. These are parts that total nearly $100.00. Well, I have never been more disappointed in an appliance before. This machine has not worked since day one, but more importantly has cost me an inordinate amount of money based on my water bills. It took me several months to figure out why I was paying hundreds extra on my water bill. Granted, I live in a neighborhood that is overcharged for water. This washer consistently has an error of an uneven load (UE), even when I have all similar clothing in the washing machine. It continues to refill and refill and refill for hours before stopping. In addition, it is not even warm or hot water, but always cold. In addition, when I try to use a lower spin on delicate clothing, it continues to spin ferociously. To make matters worse, it will absolutely not wash a handful of items and forces you to use a large load. So if you have a handful of delicates you absolutely will not ever, ever be able to wash them.

It is absolutely the worst washing machine and has cost me literally thousands of dollars. I was once run off the road from behind by elderly man in a Porsche. My van was totaled and my children I rolled over several times. I refused to sue him, but I would sue LG in a heartbeat. I simply cannot understand why there is not a class action suit. Steam washer Model #WM2688 - My son gave me an LG Tromm washer and dryer set for a Mother’s Day/Birthday present in 2008 and I was thrilled! In the beginning it was so quiet I wasn't sure it was running! About 6 months ago I noticed it was getting a bit noisier. Then it suddenly started rocking during the spin cycle. My husband checked it for level and it was perfect. We manually changed the spin cycle to Medium in hopes it would no rock during the spin cycle. It got progressively louder as time went on. I want to add that there are only two of us and we do 4-5 loads of laundry per week.

This machine was not working hard for us. It finally began making a different sound and was getting even louder. I called for a repairman. He tried out a couple of cycles and said, "Your bearings are going out." I asked if that was normal, for a 7 yr. old washer and he said, “I see it all the time. Sometimes at 5 yrs. and sometimes at 10 yrs." When I asked what it would cost to repair he said he would write out an estimate for me. When he handed it to me I thought he'd made a mistake. $829.22! It's a $900.00 machine new! He then said he wanted to look and see if anything was under warranted. The stainless steel drum had a lifetime warranty so my bill dropped to $531.20.

What kind of a company sells a machine that much to repair? Repairman told me that he sees this all the time and rarely does anyone pay to have them fixed. I don't consider a $900.00 washing machine exactly a throwaway! I am thoroughly disgusted with a company that continues to build a product with a known problem leaving its consumers to pay for it! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT. I will also make sure that no one that I know doesn't either.

Three years ago I purchased the LG WT4870C washer -- a "He" top loader with stainless tub. It's been less than a satisfying experience owning it. The unit flashes the "IE" error code on virtually every load of laundry. Since my washer is in the basement, I'm blissfully unaware of the error code. So, the wash cycle practically never finished when I expect; I've come to count on it taking twice as long to do laundry as it should. The IE error code indicates a dirty water filter, and I wonder how I ever existed for years with my old washer -- it never gave me a bit of trouble related to water quality.

This unit is so sophisticated. It can actually sync to your smart phone. Who gives a damn!! Can I start a wash cycle and add clothes as the tub is filling with water? Nope! I like to do that to save time, but LG thinks it's a good idea to lock the lid so you must get all your dirty clothes inside the tub before you start. You cannot open that sucker while it's working. Not happening.

And, in this great freedom-loving country of ours, do I get to choose how much water to use to wash my clothes? Nope! I should be able to wash one sock with 10 gallons of water if I choose. Whether or not I have my own well (which I do), it should be my choice. Sometimes I just want to soak -- I mean truly SOAK -- something in water. The control freaks at LG decided to be clever and prevent the user from exercising this right. You will use exactly the amount of water THEY want you to use. Seems very un-American to me. In short, simple is usually better, and the LG WT4870C is not simple. Don't be drawn in by all the bright lights and fancy chimes. This unit is overpriced and the product of Big Brother's crack team of controllers. I wish I had not bought it.

LG has a lot of discontinued products, one of them is this WM2277HS. Parts are not even available. So when one breaks down, it is not repairable, and instead of just replacing just one appliance, you have to buy both the washer and dryer even if the other one is not broken, as none of the current models will match with the older appliance, specially the stackable models. Customer service is very poor, no one seems to know anything. So I suppose, LG in a way make their products not last long enough and then will not have parts available, or repairs will cost more than a new machine.

This review is for the LG WT5170HW Wave 4.7 Cu. Ft. White Top Load Washer. I purchased this washer 2 years ago. I was looking for the largest capacity that I could reasonably afford. I also wanted to save water. I was replacing an old agitator-type GE model that was still going strong after 17 years. Ever since I purchased this machine I have had problems with it giving the "UE" message (uneven load). Don't even think of using the capacity of this machine to the fullest. Anything above half-full will automatically cause UE messages. Anything bulky like towels or bedding will cause the UE message. Sometimes it gives the UE message for what seems like no reason at all. Basically I've had to wait downstairs and babysit this machine to get it to finish about half of its loads.

As for water savings, whenever the machine gets a UE message, it adds water to try to fix the problem, so any water savings are lost. I am amazed at the amount of water this machine uses. Here is the worst part. Recently while doing a load of laundry, the machine malfunctioned and would not stop filling itself with water. Thankfully I was down there cleaning otherwise I wouldn't have known and my basement would have been flooded. Something has gone haywire and the machine will not stop filling itself with water now every time I try to use it.

I purchased the service warranty (something I normally never do) and called the service center and they cannot find a certified repair center anywhere near me (we live near Minneapolis/St. Paul). This afternoon I spent at the laundromat, and my $1,000 paperweight sits downstairs looking pretty. And, there's no one in the Twin Cities area who wants to work on these things apparently. Save yourself the money, time, headaches and stay away from this product!

The machine would go out of balance almost every time it tried to extract. We were cautious about washing like-weight items in an attempt to complete a load with less than five trips downstairs. Now, the washer won't even drain. We ordered a new drain pump and replaced it, but we still get the OE error every time it tries to drain and extract. The drain hose has been checked for kinks and there are none and there is nothing blocking the drain pump or hose.

Time and money and loss work time is VERY FRUSTRATING AND UPSETTING! I wish to buy the matching dryer but now I'm considering different brand! LG make this right or I spread the word all over the internet media. VERY POOR RATING!!!

UPDATE... 2 months later still broke. Will not replace or respond to my 20+ emails to 'resolutions@lge.com'; 'lg.care@lge.com' and website chat was absolutely worthless conversation and would not help me at all! Basically they are live chat with no phone or contact w/lg outside of chat room. So, not sure of their purpose??? ANYWAYS... LG does not care about the consumer. They will not reply! SMH!

LG HE Top Loader is the worst purchase I have ever made! I have read the reviews here and thank goodness, this washer has never caused any damage to our home. But it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to do laundry with this thing. We purchased this in February 2015 and while I can't find the model number right now, it is a top loader, 4.9 cu. ft. bought at Lowe's. From the moment we bought it, we quickly discovered it is insanely touchy about keeping in balance - the first couple of months, almost every load I did got off balance and caused the machine to make horrible noises, bumping and jumping around until I got the OB error and it would just stop.

After talking with numerous people, I learned it is best to fill the washer completely with clothes and this eliminates the problem most of the time. Well, I don't know about you but in a 2 person household, it is almost impossible to completely fill this machine, every time I use it. For instance, I am trying to wash a load of towels right now - every bath towel that we own, exactly according to the machine instructions and it keeps getting off balance because the towels are too heavy from water and bang around in the machine. I NEVER had to even think about this with my standard machine and now it feels like every time I do laundry, it's practically a physics lesson to think about the proper mix of clothes to get the right weight to finish a cycle.

It should NOT be this difficult and you can't tell me LG doesn't know this. I don't know if any other brands have this issue but for the amount of money we spent, these clothes should practically wash themselves. Sometimes, advanced technology is NOT better, only more chances for things to go wrong.

The website leads you to a repair "clinic" and where to buy parts, but no one to speak to about calling ANYONE for service/repairs. Their 800 number refers you to this site. Absolute nonsense. I can probably find someone locally but a company that advertises as much as these people do should have a listing of some type for people to contact. This once again leads customers to believe that they are disreputable. I certainly believe that now. I will never be able to trust LG again if this is how they conduct business. Bought an LG washer from Home Depot in Alamogordo, NM about 4 yrs ago. From the very first few uses we would occasionally notice small holes appearing in clothes and towels etc. Followed manual carefully about what cycle to spin clothes on, also followed cleaning procedure rigorously as my daughter's LG developed the dreaded mold. I was assured that would not happen if I left the door open and cleaned the seal and ran tub clean cycle frequently. I did all that and still developed the mildew/mold stench that permeates our towels mostly.

The small holes I finally figured out was caused by the spin cycle (even on low) forcing the thinner weight fabric through the drain holes in tub and catching the fabric on the unpolished back side of rough punched drain holes. I actually physically pulled a t-shirt off the side of the tub slowly and saw with my own eyes the fabrics pulling out of the holes leaving small tears in the shape of the drain hole pattern. Many clothing items were ruined before I started washing everything, even towels in laundry bags. I use cotton pillow covers to don't stink and wash towels in. The main computer panel started to go out immediately after the one year warranty was up. The washer now sits, but at least my clothes don't stink and I have no holes in my new clothes. Laundromats are not that bad after all. The crap that is being pawned off on the consumers is deplorable.

Two weeks after filing a claim, the warranty department denied it. We will be out $300 to replace the control panel! Now, we're out $1000 FOR A WASHING MACHINE! REALLY? We are extremely disappointed in the backing of LG products even though we currently own FIVE different appliances. In our opinion, what they manufacture is GARBAGE! Hi. I bought an LG washer and dryer 2 weeks ago, got it installed 4 days ago. My first wash the dryer didn't work, I kept trying but it didn't. LG sent a 3rd party tech who investigated and replaced a part (back box ) but it still doesn't work. He's left it to a next unscheduled appointment to probe further to try and see if changing front panel will work. I paid $2600 for this machine and I'm so disgusted, disappointed & frustrated with the process and the service from LG.

For the price this machine is a complete failure for me. I paid for a new functioning washer and dryer and I got a trial and error piece of equipment. I'm a mother to 4 school going kids and the inconvenience, hole in pocket and frustration is inexplicable. I want LG to replace this machine irrespective to their further investigations irrespective if it leads to repair or not. Because I didn't pay for a repaired product I paid for a brand new functioning product and I want one or my money back. I wouldn't recommend this machine to anyone on this basis.

I contacted LG and they informed me that manufacture of parts are discontinued after 7 to 10 years. Now I am in a situation requiring me to purchase a new washer as the basic part costing about $100 is not available. I also was informed by LG this is the case not just for washers but for LG major appliances. So if one buys a LG appliance and breakage occurs after 7 to 10 years, that appliance is not fixable and must be replaced. I find that unacceptable for a major appliance and will not be buying LG in the future.

Purchased an expensive model with the grayish color figuring we'd have it for a while. My oldest two boys have moved out 3 years ago. I have one 17 year old at home. I started noticing rust all around the bleach dispenser after approximately 1 1/2 years. I figured it wasn't causing harms so I let it go. Within 2 years the entire compartment is rusted out and rust is all over the undercoat of the top.

I called LG customer service. First excuse I got was, "It was cosmetic." The condition continued to get worse to where it was spitting out bleach on our dark clothes. My son has to wear a uniform to school and it has ruined several shirts. I do not use it anymore. I called customer service again. They sent me a letter saying it was due to misuse. I continued to call because they are supposed to be a good company and stand behind their product. They sent an appliance rep (I had to pay labor) out to look at it to see what parts they would need to fix it.

When he pried it open with a heavy duty chisel he couldn't believe the amount of rust. He said the machine could not be fixed and it would cost more to fix it than replace it. He sent them pictures. I was told by the executive customer service rep that the engineers were looking at the pictures to figure out why it happened. It took her a couple of weeks before she had an answer as to the outcome. Her manager said it's not worthy of replacement and have the repairman fix it. I'm still waiting for this to happen.

I will NEVER purchase an LG appliance again. This matching washer and dryer cost us around $2,100. I've not purchased LG in the past but did a lot of homework and this machine came off better than others. The appliance rep that came out said he has been replacing the tops of these a lot for the same reason. They were all white machines.

Worked great first few months until I tried the Turbowash. Now the normal and heavy duty cycles are stuck on TW & the permanent press cycle is defaulted to TW so you have to manually turn it off every time. The TW is an option that I had to add the first time I used it. I did not like it as the clothes felt & smelled like the detergent was not rinsed out completely. I use an approved HE liquid and only 1/2 of the amount the dispenser calls for. I was told by the service repair person that they could not fix it as LG Customer Service says that it is supposed to function that way. I spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with customer service myself and was finally told that once you use the TW for the first time it is DESIGNED to stay on and you cannot turn it off, and that they would not repair or replace it, or return your money.

The owners manual states that TW is an option that you can add when you want and nowhere does it state that it will stay on. Even LG's own FAQ website states "The Turbowash feature is designed to deactivate at the end of each cycle, and not to be used during the next, unless specifically selected. If this option does not deactivate, then this washer may require service." Now instead of pressing 2 buttons to start a normal load (on & start) I also have to choose a different cycle, adjust the water temperature, the spin speed and the soil level before starting a load.

We purchased a $1,000 LG washing machine in October 2011. We had always bought Kenmore, but the salesperson said that LG was a great company with good products. So we made the purchase. When the machine was delivered I had noticed on the interior rim that the paint (porcelain?) finish was not smooth in a couple of places about the size of a quarter - this would be directly under the spray head and another area a few inches from the spray head. The delivery person didn't seem to think this was an issue. About 2 years later I noticed that the area directly under the spray head was turning brown, but I didn't think twice about it because at the time I didn't realize this round piece of plastic was a spray head. Well today when I was wiping down the interior of the machine 2 places the size of a pencil eraser came off exposing the metal of the machine.

So I called LG to find out what could be done. The first person asked me to upload them and photo, which I did. She told me this was rust and LG would not do anything as this is considered cosmetic. I'm like "REALLY", this machine is less than 4 years old and rusting. Yup that was the answer. Not good enough for me. So I had purchased an extended warranty - warranty only covered moving parts but they gave me some advice. They told me, in their opinion, this was poor workmanship/defective product and LG should be responsible.

So I called LG back and this time I spoke to a head supervisor, of course this was after I had to go through the whole issue with another service rep, just like it was my first call. This woman was so rude, kept cutting me off when I was talking and could not have cared less so I asked that I speak to her supervisor. I asked 3 times to talk to her supervisor and she told me that they do not handle this type of issue and NO I could not talk to them. She repeatedly kept cutting me off saying she would give me phone numbers for some companies to come and make the repair. I am ready for a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT but not sure how to get in touch with those of you that indicated you want to do the same.

I have literally seen these two letters on the front panel of this washer more times than I can count. I am now keeping a log of every load and how many times the UE appears before I can actually get a load done. It is usually a minimum of 2. Every part that can possibly be replaced has been done.

I have one final repair man coming in a week. He just needs to say that at this point the washer is unrepairable and I will get a replacement. It doesn't matter what type of load I do, sheets, towels, jeans, every one will be UE. If I could take a sledgehammer to it I would. My question now is who is making a decent washing machine that doesn't cost a fortune? I think we need to go back to the old style of set your wash level, temp and what type if load. I want to tell my machine what to do and not the other way around.

I'm so tired of taking all day to do one load of wash. My old machine would take 25 minutes top. A cotton normal cycle with fabric softener takes 1 hour and 11 minutes in this machine, really??? LG, go back to the drawing board and give your customers a machine that we can say good thing about and not turn grown women into raging lunatics who just want to throw a tantrum every time they do a load of laundry!

We bought LG top load washer and front dryer as a pair; WT5170HV, 5-2012. The only problems we've had was the washer electronic control board shorted out & now we've noticed rust forming underneath the top rim of the washer. There is a notice about not splashing bleach when adding to the dispenser. We are careful, but apparently it splashes up on the bottom of the lid and around the dispenser when the machine is operating. This is a design flaw and needs to be corrected by LG. This will be the last time I buy LG products unless they show me that they will stand behind their products and fix the design flaws... So be careful when buying appliances and read consumer reports.

On August 1 2013 I have bought the LG washing machine model F1443KD/01, 11 kg direct drive. Warranty 2 years, price 859.14€. On 5.11.2013 I have bought LG Eco Hybrid dryer model RC8055APZ, warranty 2 years, price 1,049.00€, with discount 944.10€. In October 2014 water flow from under the washing machine and the dryer didn't dry. The dryer had alarm that filter is not clean, or it has finished the drying cycle after few minutes and laundry was still wet. They have changed the filter with another model. They have cleaned the system. I was told also that the motherboard was replaced with a new one And the machine was tested But it is not written on report that the motherboard was changed.

Now, after 10 months the same troubles appeared. The washing machine they have changed the back tub, shock absorbers, sensor of vibration, POB. They also told me they have replaced the motherboard, but that is not written on the report, and they have tested the machine. So now after 10 months it seem that same mistakes are appeared. Sadly, that is my experience.

Well my washer (LG wt5001cw) started making a grinding and whining noise after owning if for 2 and half years and come to find out my repairman tells me it can't be fixed and it's time for a new one. Really it is not fixable? So if your washer has these issues and it's this model number good luck. I also have emailed LG a letter and let them know I won't be spending anymore of my hard earned money on their products. At least they don't make any life saving devices I hope. Please do not buy their products. My repairman said that this is common with their products and they are only made to last about 3 years. He sees it everyday.

We are without a washing machine and LG does not stand behind their products. From all the reviews, it appears we do have enough people to level a class action suit against LG. Are you in? We purchased a LG front-loading washing machine in November 2014 from Home Depot. When the machine was delivered, there was rust inside the drum. We called Home Depot and complained and two weeks later (a month and a half after purchase) we finally received a new washer.

Around the end of June 2015, (6 months) I noticed a loud notice when the clothes were washing, it sounded like the drum was rubbing. I mentioned it to my husband who told me it was nothing. In July the noise was getting louder so I called LG for service. The customer service was atrocious! They told me that the technician was only available on 1 day and that if I was not available, then I would have to call back because they did not have a schedule for the technician the following week. I asked the representative to call me back when they had a schedule and he agreed, but I never got a call back.

I called the following week and again I was told they only had a schedule for Tuesday. I asked for a supervisor, Cherry, who advised me to keep Wednesday, Thursday and Friday open for the technician and that she would call me. I asked her to have a member of management call me and she said they would call me back in 48 to 72 business hours. After 96 business hours, no one called me back, so I called again. A supervisor, Vincent, said he would get a technician out there on Monday. The technician arrived on Monday, and stated it was stator assembly and rotor assembly but stated hopefully it is not the drum, and that he would order the parts and be back on Tuesday to replace them.

When he showed up on Tuesday to replace the parts, he said, "oh no - the drum shaft is bent and that we would need a whole new rebuild of the machine." He then told my husband to call Customer Service because he could not order the parts (he was able to order them the day before) - that we needed to order them through Customer Service. While my husband was on the phone with Customer Service, the technician Nick just left. My husband then spent the whole day on Wednesday trying to get answers. Mid-day he was able to contact Sherry in the Executive Offices who told him she would research the issue and contact him by the end of the day about replacing the unit. She did contact him back and asked him to get the invoice because she did not have the information - however LG had the purchase date, model number and place of purchase.

I then tried to contact Sherry the following day. Sherry indicated to me that she spoke to LG Management and that they refused to replace the machine but would order the parts for rebuild. When I asked Sherry when the parts would be in, and when we could expect the repairs to be done, she stated, "The technician will give you a call when the parts arrive to schedule service." I then explained to her this was not acceptable to have a time frame and that I also wanted to keep the parts that are replaced for evidence. She told me she did not think I could do that, that decision would be up to the technician. I explained again that I was keeping the parts for evidence.

My husband then called back and asked to speak with Sherry's manager. Amber, who answered the phone, said that she was Sherry's manager and there was no one above her to speak to. She stated that LG will not replace the machine, and that someone would call us when the parts arrive. We are without a washing machine, and LG does not stand by their products. NEVER, EVER, BUY LG. You will have dirty clothes and you will have $1000 less in your pocket! 10-year warranty - BS!

In 2013 we purchased the set of LG washer/dryer from a well-known appliance outlet chain. Earlier this year (2015) we noticed the washing machine started leaking. In fact, water was leaking out from the bottom of the machine and collecting in the drain pan. We immediately contacted the store we purchased it from who informed us that our warranty had expired, and they would have to charge us x-amount of dollars to troubleshoot. Instead we did some extensive research on the LG machines, only to find tons of video complaints from other angry and frustrated consumers. The leakage seems to be consistent with many other complaints. The detergent dispenser tray slot has mildew build up behind the tray itself. The bleach dispenser tray is rusting... what the heck.

We finally pulled the back of the cover off to notice the water was pouring out the back of the machine during the rinse cycle. Basically $700.00 put the window... and this is the top loader extra capacity washer without the middle agitation piece. Newsflash, another service tech shared that your clothes aren't even getting as clean as they should without the agitator piece in the machine which helps move the clothes around. Technology... you have to wonder. LG knows these issues exist and still push out these poor performing products. Sad. I am definitely in on a class action suit... let's band together and get it started. Conyers, Ga angry and disappointed.

It often takes an entire day to do one load of laundry because this LG top load washer WT4870CW cannot balance itself and vibrates severely and smacks into the wall. Often, when I try to rebalance a load, the load seems to be already balanced, but the machine does not think it is balanced. This HE machine is supposed to save water, but the water constantly runs as the machine tries to balance at the spin at the end of the wash and during the rinse cycle. I have tried to contact LG several times through their online portal and they ignore my requests for service, or send me a video about how to balance the machine (the machine is level). Now going through the calling them phase of trying to get this resolved. I hate this machine and wish I had never bought it. It does not work as intended and LG is falsely advertising this machine as a water saving appliance because the water seems to run the entire wash. Do not buy this machine!!!

I bought this washer (LG WT4870C) 11-2013 on ratings in Consumer Reports magazine. It has not lived up to the reviews given. The load is constantly off balance and the machine will continue to add water and move clothes around until I stop it. You cannot leave this washer running without constantly checking it. Clothes do not clean even after sloshing in the water for an hour. I have the original receipt, and would love to replace it. I am in the market for a new dryer, my Kenmore Elite stopped suddenly after 5 short years with numerous repair calls. My first washer and dryer, basic Maytag brand lasted 20 years. Any recommendations on a good dryer?

I'm at work while I'm writing this so I don't have the exact model number of the machines. But we Installed the machines correctly and leveled them and we had problems with the dryer within 3 months of loud humming noise. They came out and said that there was nothing they could do, that it was normal and we called them just before the warranty ran out, and once again right after and never got it fixed. Serviceman was no help. The washer always vibrated horribly on the spin cycle. Now a few years later it's broken its mounts and is burning the front gasket. The set was complete garbage from day one. I will never buy another LG product. Not a phone, mp3, battery, nothing.
