I purchase this washer 3 months ago and it started displaying an LE error code every time I would try and wash a load. I experience balancing issues within 1 month of having this product. DO NOT BUY ANY LG PRODUCT. Their customer service department is horrible. NO RESPECT OR EMPATHY FOR THE CUSTOMER. I don't understand how LG is still in business.

I will never...I repeat, NEVER buy any LG appliance again. The top-loading HE washer I bought 2 years ago (Model WT4870C) has been nothing but a disappointment. To call it a piece of junk would be an insult to junk. And LG customer service is terrible! Don't think you will get any sympathy or help from the company. They've got your money, and that's all they care about. Apparently, quality means nothing to them. First of all, the area around the bleach dispenser rusted. Do you want rust on your clothes? Me either. That's why I called customer service. Instead of agreement that rust in a washing machine is not acceptable, I was told, "If liquid gets on the metal, it can rust." Really? Then why does it say to put liquid bleach there (in the dispenser!) if no liquid is supposed to touch it? And besides, in their opinion, the rust "is a cosmetic issue."

When I complained that rust can ruin clothes, they told me that I could send them my damaged clothes, and they would review them, and "possibly" issue some compensation FOR THE CLOTHES! Now, only 2 years into owning this washer, it breaks! I cannot use it at all! It was running when suddenly a terrible noise was heard coming from it (not the normal terrible noises it usually makes), and the tub could not stop. Natural frictional force caused it to finally come to a stop. But now it cannot spin at all. Even though the washer displays proudly on the front a "10-year warranty," that only covers the motor. And guess what: You have to pay for a technician to come out to determine whether it is the motor or not. So you are out a service charge no matter what! (Oh, and even if it is the motor, you still have to pay labor charges out of pocket.) (FYI: The photo attached shows the dispenser after I removed the plastic surround.)

It takes forever to balance, sometimes there's almost no water and then sometimes there's too much water! The clothes come out looking like if they've been stomped on. I COULD GO ON AND ON ABOUT HOW MUCH IT SUCKS! DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE! I REALLY, REALLY WISH I COULD RETURN IT!

Anywho.. the stainless tub is under xbm up to 05/2016... So the drum/tub is banging on when is washing/drying. Very loud.. They ref me to lakes electronic. Checked review - wow very bad. I called again try to get another service company. Have apt on 05/2/16. He explained parts will be covered, not labor??? Or service call $75.00... However LG stated that parts/labor is under xbm. The service tech stated it may cost me up to $225 for the repair. I have spoken with LG supervisor Diane. I was to get a callback - never happen.. So I give up. I will never buy LG anything...

We've had it almost a year, the problem was evident from the start; at times the washer would NEVER stop. The first call to LG service said there were no faults in the machine (over the phone code reading) just out of balance load. BUT we were told NEVER put pants AND shirts in the machine together! Err, WHAT!? The second call we were told we were out of the service area, funny; we had asked that from Home Depot BEFORE we bought it. But after a few emails to LG they did find someone and he came out and replaced the computer. Now the machine does finish the load IF and only IF it's happy and in a good mood. Balance is really critical and it tries for a long time to rebalance it before giving up. I don't believe there is anything wrong with the washer at this point, it is just a BAD design, STAY AWAY. And the warranty department doesn't really give a damn.

Top loading washers LG model wt5001cw from Home Depot... lid locking. Tub not spinning, tub off balance, slamming into dryer, slamming into the wall, me having to readjust clothing every time to get load to finish. Tub off so badly slamming so hard side to side that I just stopped using it... They look brand new. I had spoke with Home Depot after 2-4 years of trying to get help our card we purchased that on went to collections because we refuse to pay for a product that's garbage! Which "finally" this week I got a manager from Home Depot that tried to help me! I found out these were all recalled. Badly made & everyone was left hanging! They would only replace the computer chip! They said! Then after my persistence, telling them, this is not just a computer chip issue! I spoke to LG I told them I wanted a full refund.. they said they would only replace the chip. Take pics they said. I cannot take pics of the inside of a damaged washer.

Finally, He "Silas" LG's manager insisted that I have their guy find out to look at the situation. Due to all of my damaged clothing and items that were torn apart. Having to babysit the unit and stopping, restarting, unplugging to get the computer to reset so it would work so I could just open the door was a joke! He pretended to not be able to hear me on the phone anymore then he said he'd give me 30 seconds to try to see if he could hear me then he proceeded to just hang up on me! Wow! The tub sits on something that has nothing to do with a computer chip! Off balance every time! Slamming very hard side to side! Not spinning clothes dry.

I just purchased what I thought was a beautiful set that I would enjoy doing my laundry in! I'm like that! I keep my appliances as a show piece and I'm expecting them to work beautifully after spending 2064.84 dollars on the matching dryer! The set! The 10 year warranty medal is stamped right on the front of the washer for our convenience so we feel safe that they back up the quality of their appliance! No way! They've been sitting in the garage collecting dust! I need a full refund to be able to purchase a new set to be able to get on with life as it should be!

These people hanging up on me! Ignoring me! Nothing they can do about it! Recording my message as I'm speaking, saying things in a way to me to try to over power me. Them "so you are stating you refuse for my guy to come out to replace the computer chip?" They Trying to play a power trip on me when they know full well this washer dryer set as excited as I was to get it is a piece of garbage and a danger to my clothes, my home & my matching dryer sitting right next to it! I want a full refund and I want and expect it now!!! I need help & support to get a full refund. I have pictures of my units and serial numbers model numbers and I also have a copy of my receipt...

I've had the top loading high efficiency washer for about a year and it is truly the worst purchase I've ever made. I'm almost inclined to buy a new washer and chalk up an expensive loss for the sake of my own sanity. The washer gives a "UE" (uneven load?) error on a fairly regular basis. This stops the already very long cycle and makes me have to reset things to finish the load. Most wash cycles take over 90 minutes. Even just a spin-only cycle is 13 minutes and it will sit "weighing" the load or something stupid and useless for 5 minutes before one even starts to hear it spin. The only good thing is the large size of the tub. Overall, this washer is horrible.

This has got to be the worse washer I have ever used. IF it completes a cycle, it may take 2 hours or more. This happens only occasionally as the machine usually errors out. We have replaced every part imaginable and still have a hunk of junk. Will never buy another LG product.

I purchased the LG WT1101CW washing machine in Feb 2015. The machine began to malfunction in November, quitting in the middle of a wash cycle, black control panel, locking a wet load of clothing inside. Fortunately, I had purchased a Geek Squad protection plan. We went through the troubleshooting routine on the phone, to no avail, so they scheduled a repairman within 48 hours.

Prior to the visit, I hit the start button on the machine and it started up again. The repairman came to take a look and couldn't see anything wrong with the washer. It ran fine for about a month and repeated same scenario. This time, repair man replaced the control panel. Ran fine for another month and began failing mid-cycle, sporadically, will reset after one, two or three tries at unplugging and replugging machine. Tonight, I've had to reset the washer four times to get through a medium load of towels. Previously, this has happened with light and heavy loads on various cycles. I have another date with the Geek Squad.

I would give this washer zero stars if I could. I'm tired of having to climb over this washer to unplug, re-plug, tired of finding the machine hasn't finished washing, tired of having to set up dates where I can wait around for a tech to check out my washer. I'm done with LG after this. When the machine works, I've had fabric softener marks left on my dark clothes, using the 'Pure Color' cycle, requiring a second rinse. The 'Bright Whites' cycle has turned my 800 thread count Egyptian cotton, king sized sheets a dingy yellow color. There is never enough water in the machine to completely submerge any load of laundry. I wonder how clean my clothes really are. I really hate this washer.

I kept getting OE message. Drain was not clogged as clean frequently. Hose not bent but when checking it could smell plastic burning. Looked behind and socket was charred and plug starting to melt. Shut off breaker and unplugged. Called LG. Only warranty motor but not other parts. Given 2 options to repair relatively new unit that almost caught my home on fire and essentially will cost 400.00 to LG and was 200.00 for electric work. My prior washer dryer lasted over 12 years with NO repair. This was not my expectation from this product of LG.

This is the absolute worst washing machine ever!!! It never gets through a cycle without numerous error messages. The place we bought it refused to take it back within a week of purchasing it. The LG repair man came and it was no better. It is supposed to be high efficiency. Sometimes a cycle will last for hours with all the error messages and then it resets the timer and goes back to earlier in the cycle. I HATE this machine and it should be taken off the market.

My husband contact LG they can't do anything about it because the warranty expired within one year of the date of purchase. So we contact Sears for $200. They came over to do the diagnostic so basically the top computer is outdated, running on the wrong setting, needs to be updated and we need to buy the top setting which is $500.00 plus labor work!!! So if we do this means we basically expending $800.00 if you do the math. DON'T BUY LG.

Will NEVER, ever buy any LG product ever AGAIN. LG stands for 'Lousy Garbage'. Bought it from Sears 2 years ago with a 5 year extended warranty. Broke down 2 years to the day from when I took delivery. There were ongoing problems with 'UE' (Unbalanced Load) errors. Loads took 2-plus hours to run and fabric was left coated with soap. Parts required for the repair were not available and then a part was back-ordered from the manufacturer. The repair is going to be a 2 man job. Sears couldn't do anything because it was extended warranty even though the repairman showed up in a Sears truck. I demanded a replacement washer and was told only the technician can authorize it. They refused to give me contact information for the technician. Nothing but platitudes and the runaround from Customer Dis-service.

Total time without a working LG washer: 5 weeks. Unacceptable. Bought a Huebsch Commercial washer. Loads are done with 2 rinses in 35 minutes. It cost extra but this thing is built like a tank. Comes with a 15 year warranty on the transmission, 5 year warranty on the motor and 3 year total warranty. LG is only 1 year. This washer will probably be good for 20-25 years.

We received our new LG top load washing machine at the beginning of Feb. 2016. Mid March (not even two months!). We noticed all dress shirts and golf shirts were coming out with oily spots on them. Contacted Home Depot who directed us to LG. So, we did contact LG since Mar 21st. You can't reach customer service right away; each customer service rep tells you so many different things. Customer service asks you if you are using HE detergent or fabric softener, and then tells you to try tub clean with clean water then with bleach which didn't solve the problem. The technician LG sends tells you it is what you're putting in the washing machine is the problem.

One customer service rep tells you once the technician looked at it, it will be escalated to Mgmt. for exchange; another rep tells you it is rejected and asks you more tub clean while your dirty clothes is piling up. The next minute, the rep on the phone tells you that they don't have an updated report from the technician. Terrible machine and service!!! Wrong machine to get!!! Our old machine didn't have this problem!!

I will avoid all LG products like the plague from now on! My "smart" top loading washer (recommended by Consumer Reports at the time) repeatedly gave the "UE" error. I called LG Customer Service for solutions to the problem. Their recommendation was to add/remove clothing to balance the load. That's all the advice they had to offer. (I'm sorry that I didn't have more dirty clothing to wash at that time. Apparently, they expected me to pull clean clothes out of my closet to balance the load!) When I operated the washer with no clothing in the machine, I realized the problem was with the washer - not my loading technique.

After my water bill TRIPLED because of the huge amount of water used to attempt to balance the loads, I requested a service call. The technician informed me that the problem was due to a KNOWN software issue and all that was needed to fix the problem was a software update. I have no issue with this. What I do have an issue with is that LG Electronics failed to form consumers of this simple fix! Apparently, LG Electronics doesn't care about consumers- they just like to sell products. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME!

Acquired a LG washer model WT1101CW, 2/4/14 from Stine in Broussard, Louisiana. Washer broke November 2015. The warranty that we bought from Stine was through NSI Protection Plus at the same time. They sold the contract to Warrantech 800-279-1662. Our washer broke again March 24, 2016 (same problem) over a week ago and on the same day a call was made to Warrantech and A&E to get our washer fixed. Someone came out and ordered the parts. The parts came through UPS 4 days later and meanwhile we wait 3 days until today to have the repair done. Took off of work (self-employed) and waited from 8:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Somehow Sears is involved with A&E and the guy states that the parts are partially broken and that the order is incomplete. He also stated that he would not be able to do the repair because he is with Sears and they do not get paid through Warrantech - What is up with this? Meanwhile I call Stine rep and Warrantech calls me and I tell him how crazy all of this is and he hangs up on me!

Wanted a dryer with a steam fresh option which this LG does have. Washer does not wear out clothes as previous Maytag unit. Regular repairs and quality of construction, very important to me. Unit still looks brand new after 4 years of use and not the first problem with units. I had nice shirts that were stained with grease. Previous unit did not remove those stains so used shirts for the lawn. Used the sanitary cycle on the LG washer with no change in detergents and stains were removed. I am assuming this is due to the LG heating up the water that dissolve the grease.

I will never buy an LG washer or dryer again. The LG washer is rusting out on top after only two years and very careful use. I contacted customer service on numerous occasions and they wanted $200 to simply come out and look it over. They were very unhelpful and rude when I asked for someone to fix it for less since it was so new and obviously had a flaw in the design of the washer. They refused to stand by their product and refused to do anything about the rust. This washer will be lucky to last three years. It was an expensive top loading washer with no agitator. It was a waste of money. I thought the LG was well priced until I realized the quality is so poor and the customer service so awful. LG makes their appliances look good on the outside but on the inside they are very poor quality. It appears that they make their appliances look fancy and state of the art, but they are actual cheap imitations of good, solid, quality products.

Quiet, nice controls, delay so you can delay the wash until morning, different types of heat settings, and just overall ease of use. We're looking for middle of the road, not top of the line. Regulatory repairs would be deal breaker for me on an appliance because these days they are so cheap that one repair would be the cost of a new one. I really liked the fact that the digital controls have different settings and the ability to delay a wash until morning. I also like the quietness of it.

LG direct drive front loading washer and dryer pair - Both are super capacity, high efficiency, quiet and were a very acceptable cost. Loads of settings to choose from. One thing I disliked is the cost of the stacking kit. This kit consists of two strips of stamped metal and some screws for almost $200. It was also a 'special' order item that had to be ordered separately from the units. With a household of 8 people we needed super capacity in the washer and dryer as well as highly energy efficient and quiet. We do most loads at night due to time of day energy billing so many are sleeping during wash and dryer cycles. This is with a main floor laundry area so there is only one floor between the units and the bedrooms. We also did a lot of research into the various brands and were very impressed with LG's reviews.

A deal breaker is high cost, low energy efficiency with many undue repairs. I expect my appliances to last at a minimum of 15 years. Any less than that and they are a waste of money. Noisy units are also a no-no, there is no reason sound deadening can be incorporated into any unit these days. Poor quality of manufacture from ANY country of origin is a deal breaker for me.

We have had these units for about 4 years now and do laundry every day and several times on weekends due to a family of 8. They are the stackable units and we got the stacking kit. I am very unimpressed at the cost of the stacking kit compared to what it contains. Both are super capacity, direct drive, high efficiency units. The gasket for the washer door is a little difficult to clean but tends to not have to be cleaned very often. In the summer we find that spending time at the beach and washing towels and such the drain on the washer clogs with sand settling in it. The washer has a handy door and plug to get at the drain so it can be cleared. It was a pain the first time we discovered this but knowing it now it is fine.

I believe we paid about $1300 CAD for the pair. The add on 'special' order stacking kit was $200, very costly and overpriced. Try to make a deal when buying the pair to get the stacking kit thrown in if you can or at a discount at least. Overall we have had NO service issues or needed any service at all on the units. We did get an extended warranty for them both due to the price of the units and the value of the extended warranty. Washing and drying is quick, quiet, and they do use less water and energy to run. These days that is a big plus to us. Stacking was easy with the kit. You only need two people to lift the dryer on top of the washer once part of the kit is installed. We have had the kit installed for about 3 years now and have had no issues with it loosening off or causing any issues. I would buy them again in a heartbeat. I am also looking into other LG appliances in the future when our other major appliances finally fail.

LG HE takes less time to dry clothes. Uses less hot water. I like the front-loading washer and dryer better than top-loading ones. They were somewhat on the expensive side, but worth it. LG has an innovative motor that will last longer because there's less motion involved. I like the pedestals as well. I've had absolutely NO problems with either the washer or the dryer, and no missing socks! Mine are full-size side-by-side units. There are many cycle options for each: water temperature for wash and rinse, type of material, intensity of spin cycle; the dryer allows for both timed and sensor drying.

I bought it after my Neptune ran amok and held my wet clothes hostage for hours, even after unplugging it! Quality construction is worth every penny! I love my LG! It has Direct Drive Inverter (10 year warranty!!!) and the steam option. It has an optional platform for both the washer and dryer, which I highly recommend (if you value your buck). The washer is extremely user friendly, even for those of us who are technologically challenged. But, if you ever do need to troubleshoot a problem, the washer can talk directly to LG via your smartphone. :)

We purchased an LG washer and dryer set. The dryer works well, but the washer is a disaster. Our towels have an unpleasant musty smell just 1 day after they are washed. The rubber sleeve between the front panel and the drum is literally designed to trap moisture and grow mold. What a horrible design! We miss our old top loader Amana. That washer worked wonders on spots and dirtier clothes like playground pants with grass on the knees. Our front loader LG, on the other hand, is a piece of cr@p. We are waiting for this thing to develop any problem so we can replace it with a Bosch. Dryers works well. Washer doesn't get the clothes clean. It uses less water than our old washer but what good are water savings when the clothes don't get clean? We will check Amazon customer reviews to see which models to AVOID like the plague.

Before buying this LG washer we were focused on efficiency but with LG efficiency came at the cost of less than clean clothes and smelly towels. Reliability is important but effectiveness is a very close second. A reliable, highly efficient washer is junk if it doesn't get the job done. To reiterate, stay away from LG clothes washers. The design of the drum, pump, and the drum seal is defective. It traps moisture and promotes mold growth. Also, the pump/filter assembly on these washers holds about 12 OZ of water at all times. We forgot to drain the filter assembly before going on a 3-week vacation. When we came back, the whole downstairs of the house smelled like sewer. The stench was coming from our wonderful LG washing machine. I had to flush it with 2 gallons of bleach! Stay away from LG washers! They are toxic!

Regular repairs would definitely be a deal breaker because, I'll be forced to pay or spend extra money on these items if not investing in another brand. We purchased an LG washer. I love the fact that without the middle paddle you can wash large items like king size spreads and comforters and all the clothes actually are treated more gently. I do not like buying new if the old is still working. Being able to get parts and having really good people who can and will work to keep the old model going. Regular repairs is a nightmare. Been there and done that, days without your appliance and you have to wash most days to keep the family in clean clothes and towels etc. Also low quality construction, which usually means noise pollution and the appliance walking all over the floor or pulling loose from the connections and the room being flooded.

This LG washer that I bought was the same price as for the Maytag that I had purchased 20 years before. It is high quality construction, stays where it is supposed to when it spins. Large size drum that washes very small loads with much less soap and water, or very large items like winter coats, king size bedding, comforters, etc. One thing I do not like is that everything rinses in cold water no matter which setting you use, and I like to be able to decide what temperature I want for the wash cycle and the temperature I want for the rinse. But all in all, that is the only thing I do not like about these computer controlled washers.

Options were priority #1 but cost vs options was a big consideration. Loved the steam dryer feature but wasn't a fan of the track record that front loading washers have with having to be cleaned regularly. However, that's been a minimal issue since we purchased them two years ago. Brand reputation and capacity is a plus as we have 2 kids and very busy schedules. Our need is to do large loads fast. So far that's been the result.

Regular repair and low quality construction would be instant turn-offs for my wife and I. But we likely wouldn't look at anything that would fall into those categories anyway. We have the two red LG front loading washer and dryer set with the steam dry option. We're able to load the washer up with large amounts of clothes regularly and wash them quickly, and we actually saw a drop in our water bill after we brought them home. We opted against the pedestals, but we're reconsidering that thought as they are a little short for a guy who is 6'3" and does his own washing. So far, not a single major issue.

I don't trust any of the side loaders due to the possibility of water leaking around the door seal. Price was discounted for a holiday, from Lowe's. Lowe's installation bothered me a lot. This washer and dryer replaced Kenmore's that were 25 years old, and still running. Quality means a lot to me. I expect these LG's to last at least as long as my 25 year old Kenmore's since engineering and technology MUST have improved in the last 25 years. After a year, I am very happy with the LG's. Occasionally, the washer can't balance the load and I have to redistribute the washer contents. Note that the basin spins at over 1000 rpm, so a balanced load is critical. That's okay. I thought the vast number of washing options were way too many, so too the dryer. But I guess some owners will use options that I don't. The clothes load size is really big. You will need very long arms to reach the bottom of the washer to pull out all the items.

I purchased my wife a RED LG front loader with steam cleaning as well as many other features and a dryer with a host of features as well. Cost $1000 for the Washer and $1500 for the dryer. The main reason for buying them was my wife wanted the front loaders and the color. I like the color best and personally they work well for standard cleaning. BUT the features have not stood up - for example the dryers only dries thing completely if you use the timed dry option (which is available on any dryer)... The other options meant to reduce energy or prevent wrinkling leave the clothes damp - so, what's the point.

My wife thinks the dryer is just broken, but we had the motherboard replaced three times under warranty and the experience was results never changed... The servicemen btw - said the dryer diagnostics indicated the PCB wasn't working properly - hence the repair. Sooo, all the fancy gadgets we paid for, did not work as advertised. BTW - the "sanitize" features must be working correctly, it takes over two hours to run, but it does get things really clean... So kudos to LG for that feature in the washer.

I think after this set, my wife will want a different brand since the features never satisfied her (guess who takes the heat... I won't be involved in the purchase or repair of future W&D's I can assure you that.) BUT, I suspect she'll focus on Brand Reputation - we ALWAYS read reviews to get other people's opinions, as well as websites like CNET or Consumer Reports.

I think the next purchase we make will be closely monitored by my wife and any repairs or failures to deliver the service promised will be a bad day for the person receiving her call. We own a Toyota, Apple, and Sony products so we expect carefree, totally reliable service from our products... We like that kind of thing and it compensates for the high cost.

I've defined the product pretty clearly up to this point, but they are LG front loading W&D's with stands... They're a very pretty red and we purchased them in 2007 so hopefully LG has learned something from the past equipment... specifically to improve reliability and features to work as one would expect them to. I know WE won't be purchasing another LG appliance for the rest of lives based on the experience we had with these... 10 years is too long to live with something that has never delivered what was promised and too short a time to rebuy them in hopes of getting something that works as promised.

I wouldn't buy a 2nd home from the same builder if the doors didn't close or the AC didn't work and I wouldn't buy the same model car again if I found out the Manufacturer LIED on the EPA standards to save themselves some money while lying to the consumer about the cars EPA Mileage. Someday corporations will learn there is no recovering from being too cheap to do the right thing. Take Toyota for instance, when they found out they had a bad transmission, they owned up to it and offered a solution... You don't have to make everything right all the time, but you do have to stand behind what you produce and not expect those who invested in your company to cover your failures.

LG High Efficiency front loading washer and dryer - Great reviews. Good recommendations from other owners who are friends and family. Good brand reputation. We've had the set for less than six months but have been very happy thus far. They were marketed to be water efficient and quiet and they've delivered on both promises. The only thing I wished could be changed, and it's not a deal breaker, is that on our units, which purposely sit side by side, the door on the washer cannot be reversed to better transfer laundry to the dryer given our space configuration (so we couldn't have it changed to open from left to right, for example). It's not the end of the world to lift the laundry up and over the door to be put into the dryer, but it would have been simply more convenient in terms of repetitive motion for us.

We looked for energy and water efficiency this time around; load capacity was an important factor though not the primary. Given the fact that our last brand did not last as long as we felt it should, we were really intent on researching consumer confidence in this brand and model... Both which seemed to get high ratings. The deal breaker would be an appliance that did not wash or heat as well as it should and if it were regularly needing attention/repairs. It seems that now, the appliances are essentially computers which makes it nearly impossible to afford service and when you call the service providers - they tell you that it would be cheaper to just go buy a new one! The old way of thinking, that appliances are an investment, might just be an antiquated memory.

Our LG front loading high efficiency washer and dryer use less water and energy and do their jobs well. Our models are white and sit side by side. We did not opt to buy the optional pedestal drawers. They are incredibly quiet, do not move around and have a wide-variety of options for both cleaning and drying customization. The cost reasonable and around $1450 or so before tax or other related expenses. The overall price was potentially offset by various energy and water rebates but since we are townhouse dwellers, those are not available to us.

I also am not a huge fan of the way the water lines need to be cleaned out. If you don't leave the door wide open, it gets a funky moldy smell. I want it to be within my price range and large enough to do my family's laundry. I prefer name brands with reputations for quality and longevity. Regular repairs would make me flip. The washers are expensive enough as is that I don't need to be spending MORE money to fix it.

I like the many options such as water temperature, spin speed, and the quietness of the machine when it's working. This machine also has sounds for things such as when the load is finished, and when the drum is unbalanced. Since my washer/dryer space is limited, size is the first consideration. Brand reputation is the second consideration. It can be a hassle to get a repair person at a time that is convenient. If the washer was noisy, that could be a deal breaker. This machine does well when washing heavy loads as well as light loads. Sometimes the estimated time shown on the washer isn't close enough to the actual washing time, so if you are in a hurry, wash later.

It should be easy to remove to prevent mold etc. The model we have even though you can place a large quilt inside it is still wet after the first spin. You have to do a drain and spin in order to get the excess water out. Maybe it would work better if it was a top loader without the agitator inside.

I have an LG front load fairly new machine and I absolutely hate it. I loved the fact it's suppose to save money as it is and helps the environment. I have had the machine 5 years now. The only thing I like is the lights during the washing procedure. I was looking for efficiency but there is nothing efficient about a heavy soiled load of clothes taking over an hour to wash. The machine does not let you soak or pre soak clothes. With muddy clothing, sometimes things need to soak. The machine smells like mildew or mold all the time. The rubber seal is disgusting to look at and clean. Not sure who came up with this brilliant machine but I think it's awful. There is barely any water on the clothing when washing. I don't like it at all and with it being 2,000 I feel like I got ripped off. My dryer is a Samsung steam or dry dryer. Never lost an article of clothing in it. The dryer works great. So far no issues.

The machine takes forever to wash. The clothes dry quick because they barely get wet. But they do spin fast. I hate the fact there is still pet hair on my uniform pants and some types of fabrics which really makes me mad. Also I cannot soak soiled clothes. The machine drains out any excess water. I am so not a fan of this machine. I am so annoyed with it. I would trade it off for an older top loading machine in a heartbeat.

Extremely satisfied with all the options, for e.g., delay wash, hand wash. The only problem was the mould around the rubber seals. I can't seem to get rid of it, even though I've tried everything suggested, both by professionals and on the internet. The capacity was large enough to wash a King duvet and clothing for a family of 5. It needed to be energy efficient because we do 3 full loads a week. It had excellent reviews. Repairs are our main concern. Although we bought extended warranties for the pair (washing machine and dryer), it doesn't cover all parts or repairs, but for most. I wish the sales associate gave us the pros and cons of these machines. We have more pros when reviewing the LG Tromm, but more information about the mould problem would have helped.

I contacted LG customer services by email & got the following response back: "The rust in your washing machine liquid bleach dispenser area is a result of the detergent or other additives being spilled that have not been wiped clean. Chlorine bleach is corrosive & will erode the finish if not cleaned immediately. If any spills should happen make sure to wipe it up immediately & the area cleaned with warm water & a soft cloth. Touch-up paint may be used to cover the area, if not service may be necessary."

This is a bleach dispenser for pete's sake & I don't "spill" bleach all over the area, just into the plastic opening where you are supposed to pour it. The rust has formed around & underneath the plastic cover, and I have cleaned the area on various occasions. I am not a happy camper having spent a lot of money purchasing a washer & dryer from LG. I thought I was going to get quality merchandise that would last for many years but unfortunately that is not the case. Think twice before buying a washing machine or any LG product!!! I got this machine back in the summer of 2011. It seemed to be a great product and you had the ability to washing extremely large loads of laundry at a time. But once something goes wrong then you are in trouble! The washing machine began throwing an error code nonstop during a laundry cycle which made doing a single load of laundry next to impossible. It would take me 3-4 hours to do ONE SINGLE LOAD due to the error code. It constantly kept refilling the tub with water and attempting to continue the cycle then it would knock itself off balance and start all over again.

Finally I had enough and called LG to see what the issue was. Talk about an awful customer service. I could barely understand the person and finally was able to get that there was a recall which was a software update from what the person had said and that they would contact a technician around my area to come service the machine (do the software update). That was fine by me and so I waited around to hear from the technician. A few days later I got a call from the technician in my area and they said that LG had contacted them and once they received the part they would come out and fix it. How in the world I went from needing a software update to ordered a part when no one had even come and looked at the washer was beyond me but I simply said ok and went about my day.

Here is when my nightmare with LG really began. The part apparently was on back order and they told me after going a month without being able to use the machine that the part would be in within the next few weeks. After the date they had given me was passed I decided to call them back to find out what in the world was going on which they would only reply saying that the part wouldn't be in until the end of the next month. I'm sorry but I can't go without a washing machine for over a month and they wanted me to go without one for over 2 months?!! To make this story short after getting absolutely nowhere with their terrible customer service I ended up making a phone call to Sears who did have the part and sent it out to me that same day. I got the part and was able to get my washer fixed (hopefully for good fingers crossed).

LG was not pleased that I got the part from another source and tried to convince me to cancel the order by stating that it could be the wrong part even though it was the same part that they claimed was the issue for the machine not working in the first place. Since I refused to cancel the order and wait on them to decide when they wanted to ship the part out, they refused to reimburse me for the part and were very rude. Please do some research before deciding on purchasing ANY PRODUCT from LG. I have dealt with plenty of customer service centers and this is by far the worst service center ever! The people you get connected to are nothing but rude and not one bit helpful if you have an issue with a product (especially washing machines!). They should really change their slogan from "Life's Good" to "Life's Greedy" because that is exactly what this company is!

This washing machine is total junk and I ended up spending a lot of money (on top of the cost of the washing machine) to fix this piece of crap that is truly not all that old. The parts for this machine are apparently always on back order and next to impossible to get to fix these junky products. I have had multiple places tell me that they no longer service LG appliances because it is too difficult to get the parts to work on them and that LG is a difficult company to work with and I sure learned my lesson after having to deal with them multiple times!

They do not care about their customers like they claim and have no problem making junky appliances and putting ridiculous price tags on them. I wish that I would have did even a quick search about the products before I had purchased this machine but I now know for future reference and will not be making the same mistake again. I recommend buying a different brand and staying away from LG!!! It will save you money and stress I promise!!!

My LG WT120C top load washer is constantly showing "unbalanced load". It has a 4.3 cu. ft. capacity but won't wash more than just a few items at a time because it won't spin out. It took close to 3 hours to do 1 medium load of towels and whites because it could not and would not balance the load. Even manual redistribution would not work. Worthless machine. Had an inexpensive Speed Queen that was 10 times more reliable than this one. Should have kept it. Will never buy another LG washer.

I purchased a Front Load LG WM4270HWA along with matching dryer from Standard Appliance in Portland, Oregon, after reading good ratings online from Consumer Reports for these front loading machines. I had my Asko Asea dryer go out for the third time which I purchased in 2003. I was under pressure because of a pending breast cancer surgery within a week and was told by their repair group that they likely could not get parts on the older Asko. I ordered the new LG set needing sterile clean sheets and nightie after sterile prep before surgery. The repair company called and said five days later they could get the parts to repair the dryer, but it was too late, I had ordered the LG set to be delivered the next day.

My first run was one queen set of sheets, nightie and one towel. I immediately got the infamous UE signal and called the LG service number and was told to wash only one type of item at one time. I kept rearranging the load to no avail. I was then told to wash only one sheet at a time. I ran the spin and dry cycle several times to no avail. I then put the very wet sheets in the dryer with over an hour of drying. During the night I was sickened by the smell of sheets and nightie and had to change everything before my surgery.

After surgery recovery three weeks later, I attempted to run three different loads of laundry. All kept giving the UE signal. I have severe osteoarthritis (knees and shoulders) and had to travel up and down the stairs to keep reloading the machine because of balance errors. None of the loads came out clean the way my working Asko had cleaned. I then read the ConsumerAffairs report on the machine to find out these machines were not worth keeping especially since I have an extreme mold sensitivity (I am the worst HLA type for mold causing many chronic illnesses).

Standard agreed to take the machines back and although they could not retrieve and repair my old set as they had already parted out, for an additional 900 dollars (10% restocking fee plus added cost of Askos) they would send me a new set of Asko washer and dryers. Not the best solution for someone on a fixed income but much better than keeping a mold hazard. Asko was one of the few front loaders not included in the mold class action suits. It should be required to tell customers of pending class action suits before the purchase of expensive appliances. Mold is a life threatening issue for many people. Twenty five percent of the population do not clear toxins from their bodies. I am disappointed that Standard did not tell me of the mold issue but they did take back the machines which I appreciate.

This is our first time purchase LG. We bought this LG washing machine from Home Depot 2 months ago. It haven't worked right until now. All the machine have is hot water came out even I choose to use cool wash. I called Home Depot 4 times; they pick and transfer my call at least twice per time. They got my number and promise to solve but never call back. I keep follow up but all I got is to call LG myself. LG WARNED me they are going to charge me service fee if I didn't got their number from Home Depot.

The same day, I have to go in to Home Depot store and ask for LG's number. I called LG back, the same guy picked up my phone call (same voice, same accent), he got all the information: the model type, if I still have my receipt, if I still have my warranty, and told me IT MIGHT BECAUSE THEIR INSTALLATION PERSON PLUGGED THE COLD AND HOT WATER OPPOSITE WAY AND TOLD ME TO FIX IT MYSELF! Can you all believe that?

I have never done things like this. What if I break it? Will they reject to fix it for free because the machine broke by human factor? What if I changed it and it's still not working right? I reject their "suggest"; they leave me a number and told me to contact with service MYSELF, again! When I require to speak to a manager, they refuse my request a euphemistic way which is I don't need a manager because he can help me! I really feel like neither Home Depot and LG want to help me with it at all. They push their responsibility away. If they can't push them away then they will set up a lot trouble. They just sell me their product and treat me like a nut. I have my schedule; I have my job. I had enough. I will never by their product again.

This WT5075CW washer is completely useless. I am going to have to replace it, and I have only had it a little over a year, but I can't take it anymore. It gets unbalanced on the spin cycle for no apparent reason. I only was like weight and size clothes together. I rearrange the clothes when it gets unbalanced and then restart. It starts filling with water again and stops unbalanced again. I try the Spin Only cycle. Same thing. I was the same loads every week and it is completely random as to which load will have this problem.

Last week, it was the delicates – how can they cause an unbalance???!!! I am left with an entire load of sopping wet clothes that I have to drain over the top of the washer, hang out on the patio until the dripping stops and then dry in the dryer for over an hour. I called my BrandsMart extended warranty repair team out and they said that is how the washer was designed and charged me $60.

The techs have been out numerous times but when Home Depot called they said they were only out twice, once a no power issue. They are so misinformed. I had the motherboard replaced and other issues. Now if I wash a quilt the machine stops and flashes. Then when I put it on Spin Only it shoots out water!! So I am left with soggy blankets. I am so furious and disappointed. They should have designated this a lemon four years ago. I think someone needs to instigate a class-action lawsuit against LG. Why are we putting up with this??? Every week the machine becomes unbalanced, the tub fills with 25 gallons of water and I have to reset the spin cycle to finish the cycle. This is wasteful and causes a big water bill but is mostly annoying to have to stand and waste my time watching a machine wash my clothes. The top has True Balance written on the top and is star rated for efficiency. It is not efficient nor does it stay balanced. It has a "smart diagnosis" which is a joke as the people who are supposed to diagnose the problem don't speak understandable English nor do they know how to fix the machine over a phone. This machine needs to be recalled until they can fix the balancing problem on it.

We were told by LG to use the permanent press cycle as it uses the most water. In addition, select prewash, extra rinse and heavy duty (for amount of soil). All this take over 1.5 hours. It does use a bit more water and clothing is much cleaner but not 100%. All our whites have slowly greyed after using this washer for 6 months. After the machine is loaded, I set a timer for the minutes indicated on the display. That alerts me to begin watching for the final spin cycle, which goes and goes and goes if I don't intervene. This is when I turn off the water to keep the machine from continually filling up to achieve proper balance. I then go to "special cycles," where I click the "spin only" function. Many times I have to repeat this procedure to avoid having to put a soggy load of clothes in the dryer. It reminds me of when my mother used a wringer washer to clean our clothes. LG here you go. I will give credit where credit is due. I have owned an LG washer and dryer front loader for 11 years now. No repair issues as of yet. Only one complaint is the dryer lint filter. I do agree probably a design flaw. It grabs my clothes and snake rolls them. So I did order a new filter and will see how that fixes the issue. I only have one thing to say to those that are furious about your machines. The technology in the digital control panel is crazy. We are not playing with 3-4 dials with resistors to control them (very reliable). If you want to use 50 gallons of water to wash your clothes then buy a basic top loader.

By the way enjoy spending 3 times as long doing it. I have the 4.5 cu. ft. washer and enjoy the fact I can wash 15 large towels in it at one shot and dry them usually in 1 auto setting on the dryer. Lastly you can only heat up and cool off a dryer element so many times before it craps out. Like a hair dryer. Most people are angry when writing their review, and some I may understand your frustration. The warranty can't be any more obvious 1 yr parts and labor. Buy an extended warranty if you want more warranty, but they are usually a ripoff. I love my LG and wouldn't swap it for a made in Mexico Whirlpool or Maytag.

Doing a load of wash was an excruciating experience with our new top loading LG washer. Kept stopping, flashing uE or UE signals, requiring a load redistribution which many times did not work requiring more load redistribution! It took hours to do a load of wash, could not leave the house, not knowing how long it would take to complete the cycle. Every so often a load would run right through raising expectations that this washer was finally doing what it was supposed to be doing only to realize that dysfunction was the norm.

We were told we were not distributing the load evenly?! Does it now take a rocket scientist to load a washing machine, obviously with this one it does. We were told maybe we didn't have enough clothes in, just add more! Like clean ones? I thought this was eco friendly? We finally had a repairman (kid) in. He was very nice, and ordered a new computer board saying sometimes the washer didn't "learn right". OK, so I now have a learning disabled washer, but hey it was getting remedial learning! Good... right.

In the meantime I was advised to use the low spin option. About 2 weeks later the new computer board is installed, but was still advised to use the low spin option, really, what's that about, wasn't it just fixed? But anyway, delighted that I now had an A+ washing machine, OK maybe a B+, I loaded it up, still using the low spin option as advised, even after the brain implant, and guess what? The load went right through! Success, she's a genius! Alas, the success must have shorted out the new brain. It's now back to playing the same old games, and me, never knowing when a load will go through as it should. And guess what?? the low spin option is no longer an option! Skips right over that. Maybe she did learn something.

Today I found a pair of underwear that were ripped and tore and a sock that too was ripped and tore. Both had marks of rust on them also. This along with the fact that in order to get whites clean and jeans and work clothes I have to set the washer on SOAK, and push the button twice for "extra rinse" and a load of clothes usually takes anywhere from 2hrs - 2hr:20min. In the past I had taken jeans out of the washer after a normal wash cycle to hang on the line and there was still dry dirt in the creases. The main reason for purchasing this machine was because of its large capacity. Well that did me no good at all.

I had a tech come out to check the machine after complaining to the manufacturer, and he quizzed me on the type of laundry detergent etc etc to find out I was doing everything right. I also was told to weigh my loads and not to wash more than 10-13 pounds at a time, Oh my goodness. Yet that did not help either. I do not recommend this machine. We bought our LG washer and dryer in 2010. The washer has a recall on it. Sears came out and supposedly repaired it with a software upgrade, but now instead of rocking like it was going to take off, it stops in the middle of cycle and we sometimes have to start the cycle 1 or 2 more times before it will finish washing. If that is not bad enough, our dryer also has the thumping problem and a warped drum.

I made the grave error of signing up with a homeowners warranty company, and they had the nerve to say that the worn drum rollers and warped drum are not mechanical problems. Hmm, I suppose that is cosmetic. That is another story. To make long story short, I now have very expensive and attractive washer and dryer which will more than likely need to be replaced. Did a large kitchen remodel about 3 yrs ago and bought all brand new top-of-the-line LG appliances... It has been a nightmare with every single appliance from about the first week through the first 2 yrs. Let me begin by saying that I traveled about 10 months straight every year and only home for the holidays. I live alone. My appliances get very very little use.

The french door stainless steel refrigerator (don't have model numbers at the moment.. this is a review in general of my LG experience) had problems from day 1. The light bulb and fixture within the fridge burned so hot that it completely melted the housing within the first week. Warranty replaced it.... 3 more times with various bulbs. I finally left it out at the last time when the warranty expired. The next problem was the rubber seal between the doors. They constantly rub and fray over time and replaced twice... Again... This appliance gets VERY little use.

The HE Washer and Dryer have been well below my standards. The washer seal collects water and becomes stagnant and smelly... making my clothes smell. I do very little laundry when home obviously. I have to completely clean and dry the ENTIRE washer before leaving town. The dryer has been the worst of it all and expensive fixes. Twice in 2 yrs the heating element pulled so many amps (I am an electrician) that it started an electrical fire through the power cord with the dryer. This burned the socket and the cord and had to pay for the heating element to be replaced both times as warranty had expired in 2 yrs. I have moved both units into the garage and purchased a good old standard set of machines and have had no problems since.

The dishwasher.... oh man... this thing... I have spent more on repairs and replacement parts than the cost since the day the warranty expired. First the control board went out 2 times in 2 months of being home. Then, came out to a flooded kitchen 3 times in 2 yrs. This was from a faulty regulator in the dishwasher that allowed the water to flow to the drain in sink. With all of these "great features" in the dishwasher.... My dishes were constantly covered in dried soap spots using the recommended dish soap. I had a plumber come out to see if maybe the water pressure was too low to rinse and he actually had to back it off. The dishwasher gets the least amount of use... Already the racks have begun to corrode and rust through the coating even though it is rarely used.

All in all with everything said and done.... the quality of these expensive appliances has been well below standards. Customer service I did not like as once the warranty is expired they practically disown their product and "recommend" local service and repair shops or retailers. The previous appliances were GE and Whirlpool that were 30+ yrs old when I got the house. Never an issue and they worked just fine. I know that LG will not be getting anymore money from me as I have become so fed up with the issues and the paranoia of failures from using my LG appliances that I have already decided to replace them all...

I have enclosed the most recent pictures of the damage/issues that I could. The refrigerator picture shows the most recent fix and where it had started to melt the housing again. I do not have the old housings but this one was remounted (it gets so hot that it melts the plastic and starts to hang) by the service guy when he replaced the rubber seals about a week ago.

The dryer picture is obvious. I have rewired the house long before the new appliances and luckily this 2 times issue did not cause damage to the wire or wall or breaker. The receptacle and cord are what burn up when the heating element first starts to heat up upon starting the cycle. The washer is obvious as this is the only issue for now. 3 yrs of owning this dishwasher and I have literally ran maybe 20 loads of dishes in that time. Again.... I was never home... and holidays are usually spent with family.

Over time the washer started to make more and more noise and about two years from the date of purchase the noise has become deafening, so I called a repairman and he told me to take the phone in the laundry room so he could listen over the phone and told me, we had a bearing out, and the repair cost would be $950.00 to repair the washer. Keep in mind we have two people in our family so we have 4 to 5 loads of washing a week on average. For LG to take advantage of consumers with inferior washers is wrong and a class action lawsuit against LG should be started.

What a disappointment!! A few years back my husband and I purchased new LG appliances for the kitchen and also a washer and dryer - all LG products. Paid a PREMIUM price - all the bells and whistles. From day one there has been nothing but headaches with every item we purchased. From the interior finish in the oven flaking (LG and Home Depot would do NOTHING to help us. We had to purchase new range!!), to the microwave falling apart, the drying faulting out and now this horrible washing machine!!

Between the mold this machine creates (yes, I leave everything open and wipe it down after each load), not always working correctly (gets confused...) now the drain motor needs to be replaced which has been estimated at $300 parts and labor!!! This is ridiculous!!! What a piece of junk and SHAME on LG and HOME DEPOT for not producing/selling reputable products and standing behind those products!! As you all know, these items are not cheap!

I wipe this area off every time I use bleach. Called customer service and they told me that I must not be wiping the bleach off when I spill it. This seems to be an issue with many customers, but still no recall. Also, purchased a 50" OLED TV that stopped working 1 week after use. Will NEVER buy LG again. I bought a front load LG washer about 4 years ago to replace my 15 year old Whirlpool washer which was still working. Now in the past month the washer started making a loud noise during all cycles of the spin including slow and fast spin. Contacted LG who sent a tech and they said it is the outside drum and bearing which will be over a 400 dollar repair.

Now a new LG can be bought for 645 so I went to HD and ordered a new Washer, same LG brand because the salesman said I could still use the 249 dollar pedestal if I went with the LG brand. Today LG deliveries came with the washer and said they will not install the new washer on the Old pedestal since it was not bought from them now and they will install only if I ordered another 249 dollar new pedestal from them again. The delivery guys were rude so I told them to take the washer back so I can buy an alternate brand along with its own matching pedestal. In my experience LG is one of the worst brands of home appliance company and have very poor customer service.

Unless you have hours to devote to one load of laundry, get another brand. I personally cannot understand the people I call at LG help desk; definite language barrier. This washer apparently is ultra sensitive to a sock or some other small item being on the edge and I'm constantly rearranging clothes to try and get it to finish. much, just to check it out.. So I said the hell with it. I will buy a new one and not a LG. So I bought a Samsung top loader. So I will check out the old washer. I did. I found out what was wrong with it. I took the ft. cover off and the bottom right came off the tub. So found out what was wrong. The dummies that made this washer should have put washers on the bolts that hold the weights on. It's made like, you screw the bolt in this plastic thing that spreads open. In wear, it comes off. If they had used a washer on it, it would not done this. So I feel the washer is a piece of crap. Never to buy a LG washer again.

I purchased the washer to handle larger loads like comforters, but it can't even clean a load of towels. I do not like that the washer decides how much water is needed to clean the clothes.

Earlier this year we purchased a new LG Washer (WM4270HWA) and Dryer (DLEX4270W) through The Home Depot. The washer was delivered and installed in our home on Feb 21st, 2015. The dryer arrived on March 2nd. Both machines operated beautifully for about 8 months. They are MUCH quieter than our previous 20+ year old machines, have a nice feature set, and save water. However, in early October, the washing machine developed a leak and dumped a LOT of water. Fortunately, we had taken the precaution of placing the washer in an overflow pan, so there was no apparent damage to our home. I initially contacted LG warranty support to have the washing machine fixed on October 6th, 2015. On the good side, I found their representatives to be quick to answer my phone calls and they were always courteous. On the bad side, they are completely ineffective and incompetent. Ultimately, I fixed it myself.

6 October 2015, 9:45 AM EST, I called LG Warranty support to report the issue. I spoke with the representative and provided the washing machine serial number. The representative verified that the washer was under warranty and stated that I would receive a call in 2-3 days from the service scheduling team to schedule a service appointment. I requested and received an incident reference number. 8 October 2015, 11:10 AM EST, I contacted LG to check status on the service appointment. The representative indicated that scheduling team may take 3-5 business days to schedule an appointment.

13 October 2015, 11:30 AM EST, I contacted LG to determine why I had not yet been contacted to schedule an appointment. I was informed that the Service Scheduling Team had started the search for a local service provider on the 8th and that the search should be resolved on the 15th. I was told that if they could not schedule an appointment, they would arrange to replace the machine. The representative stated that the time to resolve the service request was unknown. The representative also indicated that the request had been escalated to the top-tier scheduling department, but that it was not possible to check status or contact anyone in that department directly.

15 October 2015, 5:55 PM EST, I received a phone call from an LG service representative. They had made arrangements to have the washer serviced and the service representative Jeff (last name & phone number omitted) would contact me shortly with appointment details. I called Jeff directly to confirm and received a message that his voicemail was full. I left a callback number. 16 October 2015, 8:10 AM EST Called Jeff again. The voicemail was still full. Left my callback number again. 1:40 PM EST Called Jeff again and left a voicemail. Jeff eventually returned the call and we scheduled a service call on 19 October.

19 October 2015, Jeff arrived at the house and spent about an hour on the phone with LG. He did not disassemble the washing machine nor inspect it in any significant way. He did order a replacement pump. I was informed that the part should arrive later that week. 27 October 9:25 AM EST, I called and left a message for Jeff to find out status and set up a time for the repair. I requested that he call me back as soon as possible with this information. 2 November 2015, 8:00 AM EST, I called and left a message with Jeff to get status and schedule the repair. I requested a call back that day with status.

6 November 2015, 7:20 PM EST, I called LG Customer Service to find out what was going on. The service representative was aware that a technician had been assigned and parts ordered. I explained that the technician had visited, ordered a part, and had been unresponsive for 3 weeks. She attempted to contact the technician while I was on hold and could not (no surprise, it was after business hours on a Friday). The service representative indicated she would contact the technician on Monday and call me with status.

7 November 2015, 1:00 PM EST - After a month with NO effective action and washing laundry at the neighbors house, I removed the top of the machine, ran a 15-minute cycle, and identified the source of the leak as a disconnected vent hose in the left rear corner of the washer. I Googled for service diagrams and found it was the hose at the top of part F430 in the diagram. 2:20 PM EST I called LG, explained the situation with the technician and my lack of satisfaction. I requested a service manual be sent immediately. The representative took my email address and claimed the service manual had been sent.

3:00 PM EST I contacted LG via live chat and inquire whether the service manual had been sent. The representative on the chat stated he could not access the manual.

3:25 PM EST, I called LG again. The representative read my email address back and it had been recorded incorrectly (though we had verified it on the phone the first time!). I verified the correct email address again and she resent the manual. 3:45 PM EST, I did a web search on LG drain vent hose routing and found a diagram showing the correct connection to a fitting on top of the washer drum. I reconnected the hose and since then the washer has been fine. The LG representative that I spoke with on 6 November did eventually call back and offered to start the scheduling process all over again with another service technician. I told her that their service was abominable and that I had repaired the issue myself. We were done. The service manual never arrived.

I live in a major metropolitan area with over 1 million people within the county boundary. I am amazed that LG couldn't find a competent technician in the area that could provide prompt service. The inability to email a simple service manual after 3 attempts is equally ridiculous. I will say that most parts appear for the washer appear to be reasonably priced. In the course of my internet research, I found that most design flaws noted in earlier versions of the LG washer had been corrected in my washer. The fact that the hose popped off the fitting may have been a random occurrence. The machine has performed well since. Some closing thoughts: (1) Don't ever install ANY washing machine without an overflow pan that has been connected into your houses drain system, and (2) If you are considering the purchase of an LG appliance or other product, based on my experience, I wouldn't expect LG to honor their product warranties.

A second issue is that it leaves a full tray of water in the dispenser after the cycle is completed. I have to dump out the water every time. I called for service and they will not come out for that issue - stating that they only respond to technical issues and that's not technical. What??? I've followed all of their instructions - and even called them 2 weeks after having the machine. No response from LG.

Almost every load we do whether it's a big load or small, light stuff or bulky, the "UE" error light comes on. Sometimes it is on while the machine is still filling or rinsing. Sometimes it is on and the machine has come to a stop. You can never predict when a load or which load this is going to happen to. The bottom line is it can take a whole day to finish a couple of loads. Today we did two load. Total time from start to finish was a little over five hours!! Supposedly, you can pause the cycle and redistribute the load manually and that will cure the problem. Yeah, it will for about 5 minutes until the "UE" comes on again! Knowing what we know now and having suffered with this for two years, we would NEVER buy another LG HE washing machine. If the damn thing wasn't so expensive, we would have gotten rid of it a long time ago. It's so bad now though that we are probably going to do just that - get rid of the thing.

LG makes it difficult for repairmen to buy parts. This forces you to use their customer service. I understand the rationale in this, it can help the company ensure the machine gets fixed by an LG approved repairman. Having said this, the LG customer service is based in the Philippines. I don't blame the workers there who are trying their best, however, their training and product knowledge is so limited they are unable to think rationally about a course of action for my problem. I can't prove this, but it seemed that my calls with questions about my LG washer-dryer (which broke 5 times in 2 years) prompted the service centre to consult a script instead of thinking and answering.

I wondered this because their answers did not address my question. Based on the other reviews I've read, this will be my first and last purchase of any LG product. It seems they are designed to be attractively cheap, but break easily, then have poor service to correct the problems. I will never endorse this company to any colleagues.

After using LG washer WM4270HWA several months, the ink writing is coming off from the washer's front panel and front panel buttons. Please look at the attached picture. The panel was not cleaned using any cleaners. The only explanation is there can be some detergent residue on the fingers after loading the detergent (coming from the detergent bottle or cup). It will dissolve the ink.

This is the design problem since it has to be assumed that you are dealing with detergent and LG could cover the front panel writing with transparent plastic or film as they actually do on Power and Start/Pause buttons, proving that they are fully aware of the problem. They could use other inks or just glue the stickers that can be replaced later. Unfortunately, they didn't think much about it and went with the cheapest solution, and this is not the cheapest washer model.

Finally, they refused to replace the panel saying it is a "cosmetic damage." However when all letters will be gone how to select the washing options? It will be a functional issue. Having extended warranty is not helping either, Home Depot, where the washer was bought, is saying the same. One of their suggestions is to take a marker and write on the panel. Ridiculous nonsense. Be aware.

Mine rarely completes a load, of any type, without giving the ue or UE error codes. And the machine programming is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. For example, when it finally does get to spinning good, it will stop only to restart so it can screw up. Maybe it is intentional. You can't rely on the machine to complete a load. You HAVE to babysit it and restart it up to several times for each load.

It takes so much more time, energy and water than the old school machines. Why are they allowed to bill it as high efficiency or energy efficient? I have talked to LG many times about this and did everything I was supposed to do from checking machine level to letting AE claims technician come here because LG said it needed a software update to lame advice like using low spin speed. The bottom line is LGs product, customer service, and technical support are of the poorest quality. We moved into a new house 5/2015, and as a "present" to ourselves, bought a brand new stackable LG washer and dryer that had been highly recommended in Consumer Reports. We bought LG 4.3 CF WM3370HWA and LG 7.4 CF DLEX3370W from Lowe's in Everett, WA. This is a front loader washer. From day ONE this washer would not get clothes clean. It does not matter if you use the recommended detergent (my previous ten-year-old Kenmore used whatever you wanted to put in it, and got things sparkling clean), doesn't matter if you add bleach. It won't do a small load, and we are a retired couple so we don't have huge loads! It also won't wash a load of sheets - it balls them into tiny balls. If you try to wash a mixed load with a couple towels, you repeatedly get the UE (uneven load error). I constantly am standing on my head rearranging a sopping wet heavy bunch of clothing. I NEVER had this before with my top loader Kenmore!

It also does not add the detergent in the first part of the wash - it doesn't add it til like 35 minutes into the wash. God help you if you add bleach, everything comes out smelling like none of the bleach is washed out. It makes a very loud chunking noise while filling, also. When you wash socks (and mind you, we are clean people who do not have pets, so it's not like our floors make filthy socks)...the socks come out looking like they have not been washed at all - the knit on the bottoms are still depressed from walking...and the socks are not fluffed up at all!

We called Lowe's, and they said you have to call LG. So we called LG and they sent out a "repair person". HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. First words out of the guy's mouth when he got there - "I have twelve visits today and I can't stay past 30 minutes..." Then he went over to the washer, pushed buttons on it a couple times, pronounced it fine, and started to leave. When we stopped him to ask questions, he got very defensive. We told him "It's NOT fine, it won't clean the clothes!" He said "Well, it cleans them, just obviously not good enough for YOU." I showed him the dirt on the socks and he said "Well, add more water!" So I said "Can you please at least stay through a cycle so you can see that it is NOT doing what it is supposed to do?"

He refused. After he left, we tried pushing the "add more water" button (which means none of the preset wash choices work...you have to do manual wash selection every time) and it still did not get the clothes clean. Also, yes, there is tons of crap that accumulates in the virtually uncleanable rubber gasket, and yes, we leave the door open 24/7. So far no smell, but I think that is because I use bleach so much and leave the door totally open.

Now for the dryer. IT WON'T DRY CLOTHES unless you put it on timed dry and high heat! And still, it balls everything into a ball! Our previous Kenmore never did this! And it also has one of those rubber gaskets on the door that fills with lint and you can't clean it out! We paid $2,089 for this piece of crap set and that is a lot of money for a retired couple on social security and a small retirement. I think I hate the LG people for selling an inferior product and not blinking an eye about it. I only wish I had seen this page of complaints BEFORE we bought this. PLEASE DON'T BUY ANYTHING THAT USES SENSOR! Sensor does not work. Please don't buy a front loader LG. THEY DON'T WORK. And when we called back LG and asked for a different repair person, they told us there was no one else...it was him or no one. Have a nice day. Click.

    Updated review: Dec. 23, 2015

This is an update to my complaint to LG. After writing the letter to LG, I received a telephone call from their representative asking me for a copy of my original sales receipt. I submitted a copy to them via an email attachment and within a few minutes, I received a return call from the same representative indicating that LG would repair the washing machine at no cost to me. I negotiated a date and time with the representative and she indicated that their factory repair representative would arrive and repair my machine. He did arrive on time and replaced the complete top of the machine which was rusting along with the plastic insert for the bleach receiver. Both the lady on the telephone call and the repair man were very pleasant and professional. I am completely satisfied with their response.

I purchased an LG top loading washing machine Model WT5070CW 3 years ago. The machine is not heavily used as we only have 2 people in residence. The area around the left front of the machine where the bleach is inserted, is rusting badly. I have talked to 2 different people representing LG and they tell me that it is not covered by any warranty. I was also told to write a letter to the office of the president in Alabama, with my problem. I have done this and await a response. Based on the reviews that I have read so far, I do not expect any positive outcome. We were told by the first individual we talked to, that spilling the bleach around the insertion area will cause damage because bleach is corrosive. This is definitely a design flaw. Some protection to the metal should have been designed in to prevent any damage from corrosive liquids. As the rust gets worse, I believe a safety issue will result because of sharp edges.

They tell you their rules as they go along. You are treated like dirt and end up spending good money to be bullied by this dysfunctional bloviating giant. DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS unless you want to buy headaches. Cannot get service from them. It is almost 2 months since we got these malfunctioning machines and the service outfit has been here once and accomplished zilch. Getting them back is an exercise in futility. LG IS AN OUTFIT TO AVOID. Home Depot, where we purchased this junk should also be avoided. No one home to help a dissatisfied customer no matter how right one may be. I'm sure I'll end up in small claims court.

So I bought an LG Top Loading Washing Machine, Model # WT1101CW in June of 2014. After about 6 weeks the washing machine started getting uneven loads, on small batches, normal-sized batches, even just a table cloth and placemats. This now happens about 60% of the loads, if not more often. It fills with TONS of WATER multiple times in an attempt to balance an already balanced load (I take several minutes now to load the washer to make sure it's perfect) and has skyrocketed our water bill. High efficiency my rear end. I was in contact with LG and they said it's normal. Normal to have a high efficiency washer raise my water bill by 300%? NO thanks. NEVER buying an LG Washer ever again. Can I please have an old-fashioned, non-energy star washer that just works and cleans and has no computer parts in it?

The LG washer we purchased, while now out of warranty, is part of a recall for a potentially dangerous failure, where the drum spins unbalanced and out of control causing the whole machine to be violently tossed about. This has been a three week ordeal, so far. The service center has been very good but the part they need is on back-order, nationally. As of this morning 12/3/2015 I'm told by LG that they have an "anticipated" arrival date of the 12/16. LG's customer service manager tells me that we have no options other than wait.

Ever been without a washer for a month during the biggest holiday season of the year? I own an electronics repair shop. Among others, we're Samsung authorized. If a part can't be delivered within 7 days, Samsung will ship a brand new TV to the customer. THAT's customer service. At this point I'm basically forced to buy a new washer, have the LG repaired in the garage whenever they can, and give it to a family member or friend that needs one. Happy holidays LG. You've seen my last dollar.

We purchased an LG washer and dryer set at Home Depot and within two weeks and only a few washes the washer leaks from the front. We had to pay an LG technical person $145 to come to our house and tell us it was because we have a dog and he said even a single dog hair in the door seal will make the front door leak. If you own a dog - this is a really terrible option for a washer. Apparently you need to clean the rubber seals and door after every wash and it's virtually impossible to clean dog hair off of the rubber gasket in the front. It's still leaking and neither Home Depot or LG will take the product back. Too bad they can't at least pay for my water damaged floors. I can also add that the dryer is the noisiest I have ever owned. Also not recommending it. Maybe a Maytag from Sears next time?

It's a terrible design flaw. Rust is on the hinges where no chlorine or detergent goes. I have pictures... Paint will not help. The entire under part of the area above the bin but connected to the place where you put detergent or bleach is completely rusted out and the metal is so bad. I can stick my finger through it. They sent me an email... "that the rust in your washing machine bleach dispenser is a result of the detergent or other additives being spilled that have not been wiped clean. Chlorine bleach is corrosive and will erode the finish if not cleaned immediately. If any spills should happen make sure to wipe it up immediately and the area cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth. Touch-up paint maybe use to cover the area, if not service may be necessary."

How could LG design a washing machine that uses bleach and detergent knowing full well that it might get on areas besides the stainless bin and get under this area and all around the entire top of the machine and rust out. That is what happened.

I just purchased LG Washing Machine (412 SS /12 KG). This washer has so many deficiency and crazy programs as it was designed by a kid. Its drum is NOT adjusted and leveled with rounded rubber in front of it. You will never see drum is hanging down. When started it doesn't release water, but it releases water in burst so many time and it waste so much time. Drum keeps turning without water or just barely wet for about 5-6 minutes, depend on its useless programs. Half of its programs are dedicated to Steam-Wash. So if you don't use Steam, half of its programs are completely useless, while they could have add just one steam-key as an option to all programs.

WORST OF ALL: it doesn't release enough water to clean the clothes. In fact there is no standing water in washer. They are just barely wet and there is NO option to add water in any program. So as a result I have to wash my clothes twice every time. Completely waste of time. Inside washer is so dark, and you can't see inside to know what's going on. Each program is unnecessarily too long. It just sits idle and does nothing or it spins in one second burst-like and stops or it turns in weird manner not seen in other washers. It sometimes turns too fast, and clothes are just attached to inside drum's wall and they don't go through churning motion. It doesn't spin after each rinse to extract detergent. As a result if you don't wash them twice, clothes will come out with powdery stuff on them after dried up.

There are no options to had rinse or fast spin to any program. Inside drum surface is NOT smooth, and has rough edges to touch on each and every holes as if they are done from outside to inside rather than inside out to make smooth inside surface. These many rough surfaces will absolutely wear and damage clothes. In addition there is another double horizontal line with rough edges across inside drum, and no one knows what it is for.

This is very NOISY Washing machine. So-called OPTIONS on these washer are just that. If you want to change temperature, for example, then other options also change on its own without giving you choices or options are limited when programs are changed. Brief summary of this awful washer is: it doesn't put out enough water to clean the clothes - just make them wet, each program is too long, no option to add rinse or spin. I could add several other deficiencies, but enough said. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER.

Now just this month it would constantly be uneven and finally froze up. It was the main part under the drum that controls the machine that went out. Only 2 years old and this is the machine I am stuck with. Thankfully I bought a 5 year extended warranty with it. Once that is up, I will not buy another. Cycles take forever. This washer consistently has an error of an uneven load (UE), even when I have all similar clothing in the washing machine. It continues to refill and refill and refill for hours before stopping. In addition, it is not even warm or hot water, but always cold. In addition, when I try to use a lower spin on delicate clothing, it continues to spin ferociously. To make matters worse, it will absolutely not wash a handful of items and forces you to use a large load. So if you have a handful of delicates you absolutely will not ever, ever be able to wash them.

It is absolutely the worst washing machine and has cost me literally thousands of dollars. I was once run off the road from behind by elderly man in a Porsche. In the beginning it was so quiet I wasn't sure it was running! About 6 months ago I noticed it was getting a bit noisier. Then it suddenly started rocking during the spin cycle. My husband checked it for level and it was perfect. We manually changed the spin cycle to Medium in hopes it would no rock during the spin cycle. It got progressively louder as time went on. I want to add that there are only two of us and we do 4-5 loads of laundry per week.

This machine was not working hard for us. It finally began making a different sound and was getting even louder. I called for a repairman. He tried out a couple of cycles and said, "Your bearings are going out." I asked if that was normal, for a 7 yr. old washer and he said, “I see it all the time. Sometimes at 5 yrs. and sometimes at 10 yrs." When I asked what it would cost to repair he said he would write out an estimate for me. When he handed it to me I thought he'd made a mistake. $829.22! It's a $900.00 machine new! He then said he wanted to look and see if anything was under warranted. The stainless steel drum had a lifetime warranty so my bill dropped to $531.20.

What kind of a company sells a machine that much to repair? Repairman told me that he sees this all the time and rarely does anyone pay to have them fixed. I don't consider a $900.00 washing machine exactly a throwaway! I am thoroughly disgusted with a company that continues to build a product with a known problem leaving its consumers to pay for it! Three years ago I purchased the LG WT4870C washer -- a "He" top loader with stainless tub. It's been less than a satisfying experience owning it. The unit flashes the "IE" error code on virtually every load of laundry. Since my washer is in the basement, I'm blissfully unaware of the error code. So, the wash cycle practically never finished when I expect; I've come to count on it taking twice as long to do laundry as it should. The IE error code indicates a dirty water filter, and I wonder how I ever existed for years with my old washer -- it never gave me a bit of trouble related to water quality.

This unit is so sophisticated. It can actually sync to your smart phone. Who gives a damn!! Can I start a wash cycle and add clothes as the tub is filling with water? Nope! I like to do that to save time, but LG thinks it's a good idea to lock the lid so you must get all your dirty clothes inside the tub before you start. You cannot open that sucker while it's working. Not happening.

And, in this great freedom-loving country of ours, do I get to choose how much water to use to wash my clothes? Nope! I should be able to wash one sock with 10 gallons of water if I choose. Whether or not I have my own well (which I do), it should be my choice. Sometimes I just want to soak -- I mean truly SOAK -- something in water. The control freaks at LG decided to be clever and prevent the user from exercising this right. You will use exactly the amount of water THEY want you to use. Seems very un-American to me. In short, simple is usually better, and the LG WT4870C is not simple. Don't be drawn in by all the bright lights and fancy chimes. This unit is overpriced and the product of Big Brother's crack team of controllers. I wish I had not bought it.

They are awful and have to keep coming back somehow". Out of that conversation they made the appointment with A&E. Really.

So called today to get more runaround. Waited on hold for 20 min. to talk to a supervisor who was EXTREMLY RUDE!!! Only to be told we made that appointment with A&E even when I told him we never did. He ignored me so much for customer being right. Then he put me on hold for 20 more min. to cancel that appointment and put me on a list for a scheduler to call me back for an appointment another 3-5 business days. But now they are not giving me runaround according to the supervisor!!! But lo behold today they called me with an appointment for Saturday AM. I am overjoyed. They spent a lot of time putting a lot of bells and whistles on the machine, however it does not do what is intended to do, wash clothes. Our old washer - we washed all the bedding. We tried to wash the down topper from the bed, so much air, would not get wet enough to wash. What a waste, worst we have ever had.

Bought a supposedly top of the line washer dryer LG Tromm set in 2006. Washer broke down, as it was out of warranty, paid for diagnostic repair from company referred by LG and was quoted more than $1000.00, so decided to buy a newer LG washer model only to find out that installers won't install as the newer models stacking kits will not match the older models. LG has a lot of discontinued products, one of them is this WM2277HS. Parts are not even available. So when one breaks down, it is not repairable, and instead of just replacing just one appliance, you have to buy both the washer and dryer even if the other one is not broken, as none of the current models will match with the older appliance, specially the stackable models. Customer service is very poor, no one seems to know anything. So I suppose, LG in a way make their products not last long enough and then will not have parts available, or repairs will cost more than a new machine.

This review is for the LG WT5170HW Wave 4.7 Cu. Ft. White Top Load Washer. I purchased this washer 2 years ago. I was looking for the largest capacity that I could reasonably afford. I also wanted to save water. I was replacing an old agitator-type GE model that was still going strong after 17 years. Ever since I purchased this machine I have had problems with it giving the "UE" message (uneven load). Don't even think of using the capacity of this machine to the fullest. Anything above half-full will automatically cause UE messages. Anything bulky like towels or bedding will cause the UE message. Sometimes it gives the UE message for what seems like no reason at all. Basically I've had to wait downstairs and babysit this machine to get it to finish about half of its loads.

As for water savings, whenever the machine gets a UE message, it adds water to try to fix the problem, so any water savings are lost. I am amazed at the amount of water this machine uses. Here is the worst part. Recently while doing a load of laundry, the machine malfunctioned and would not stop filling itself with water. Thankfully I was down there cleaning otherwise I wouldn't have known and my basement would have been flooded. Something has gone haywire and the machine will not stop filling itself with water now every time I try to use it.

I purchased the service warranty (something I normally never do) and called the service center and they cannot find a certified repair center anywhere near me (we live near Minneapolis/St. Paul). This afternoon I spent at the laundromat, and my $1,000 paperweight sits downstairs looking pretty. And, there's no one in the Twin Cities area who wants to work on these things apparently. Save yourself the money, time, headaches and stay away from this product!

My three year old washer is being consumed with rust. We are not careless and try hard to never splatter the chlorine. At the rate of corrosion there is no way the frame can last long enough to cover the 10 year warranty. Thinking this was surely a defect considering the $899 price tag, I called LG Customer Service. They are not located in the U.S.A. They then told me there is no warranty on the washer housing and began schooling me on being careful when adding the Clorox because it is very corrosive. Really? One would think the LG engineers would realize that when designing the washer. Now we have mechanical issues and are in need of other repairs. NOTE. LG is not American made. Definitely not worth the money and I do not recommend buying one.

We thought we were buying the greatest washer ever when we purchased the LG Top Load washer WT4870CW. It boasted inverter driven technology and was not supposed to go out of balance and could handle larger loads. From the very beginning, it took at least 2 - 3 hours to complete one load of laundry. The machine would go out of balance almost every time it tried to extract. We were cautious about washing like-weight items in an attempt to complete a load with less than five trips downstairs. Now, the washer won't even drain. We ordered a new drain pump and replaced it, but we still get the OE error every time it tries to drain and extract. The drain hose has been checked for kinks and there are none and there is nothing blocking the drain pump or hose.

This is extremely frustrating! We spent far more money for this washer than others would have cost. Unless there is a recall or LG shares a suggested fix with everyone, I guess it's time to throw the $800 machine away and buy something new. It most certainly won't be LG. I will never own another LG product again! I hope others learn from my mistake.

I have missed work for each visit, which thought would take care of the problem and be able to use the washer, month plus later.. I'm still waiting for this unit to be fixed. LG is a name brand and it should be out of service this long without getting the washer replaced. I can understand if it were couple years old but this unit is barely over a year old. With all these problems this washer was a lemon from the get go and has never worked properly.

When I purchased my first BRAND new washer, I did research and bought top of the line or so I thought I did. This has been huge disappointment and LG service center has been disappointment as well. This should have been replaced with a new one. As a single mother and live from pay to pay, this was a big purchase for me. I have 2 kids and laundry mat is the last place I wish to be spending my time and money considered my washer purchase was over 600 and only year old!!! Time and money and loss work time is VERY FRUSTRATING AND UPSETTING! I wish to buy the matching dryer but now I'm considering different brand! LG HE Top Loader is the worst purchase I have ever made! I have read the reviews here and thank goodness, this washer has never caused any damage to our home. But it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to do laundry with this thing. We purchased this in February 2015 and while I can't find the model number right now, it is a top loader, 4.9 cu. ft. bought at Lowe's. From the moment we bought it, we quickly discovered it is insanely touchy about keeping in balance - the first couple of months, almost every load I did got off balance and caused the machine to make horrible noises, bumping and jumping around until I got the OB error and it would just stop.

After talking with numerous people, I learned it is best to fill the washer completely with clothes and this eliminates the problem most of the time. Well, I don't know about you but in a 2 person household, it is almost impossible to completely fill this machine, every time I use it. For instance, I am trying to wash a load of towels right now - every bath towel that we own, exactly according to the machine instructions and it keeps getting off balance because the towels are too heavy from water and bang around in the machine. I NEVER had to even think about this with my standard machine and now it feels like every time I do laundry, it's practically a physics lesson to think about the proper mix of clothes to get the right weight to finish a cycle.

It should NOT be this difficult and you can't tell me LG doesn't know this. I don't know if any other brands have this issue but for the amount of money we spent, these clothes should practically wash themselves. Sometimes, advanced technology is NOT better, only more chances for things to go wrong.

Bought an LG washer from Home Depot in Alamogordo, NM about 4 yrs ago. From the very first few uses we would occasionally notice small holes appearing in clothes and towels etc. Followed manual carefully about what cycle to spin clothes on, also followed cleaning procedure rigorously as my daughter's LG developed the dreaded mold. I was assured that would not happen if I left the door open and cleaned the seal and ran tub clean cycle frequently. I did all that and still developed the mildew/mold stench that permeates our towels mostly.

The small holes I finally figured out was caused by the spin cycle (even on low) forcing the thinner weight fabric through the drain holes in tub and catching the fabric on the unpolished back side of rough punched drain holes. I actually physically pulled a t-shirt off the side of the tub slowly and saw with my own eyes the fabrics pulling out of the holes leaving small tears in the shape of the drain hole pattern. Many clothing items were ruined before I started washing everything, even towels in laundry bags. I use cotton pillow covers to don't stink and wash towels in. The main computer panel started to go out immediately after the one year warranty was up. The washer now sits, but at least my clothes don't stink and I have no holes in my new clothes. Laundromats are not that bad after all. The crap that is being pawned off on the consumers is deplorable.

Now I am in a situation requiring me to purchase a new washer as the basic part costing about $100 is not available. I also was informed by LG this is the case not just for washers but for LG major appliances. So if one buys a LG appliance and breakage occurs after 7 to 10 years, that appliance is not fixable and must be replaced. I started noticing rust all around the bleach dispenser after approximately 1 1/2 years. I figured it wasn't causing harms so I let it go. Within 2 years the entire compartment is rusted out and rust is all over the undercoat of the top.

I called LG customer service. First excuse I got was, "It was cosmetic." The condition continued to get worse to where it was spitting out bleach on our dark clothes. My son has to wear a uniform to school and it has ruined several shirts. I do not use it anymore. I called customer service again. They sent me a letter saying it was due to misuse. I continued to call because they are supposed to be a good company and stand behind their product. They sent an appliance rep (I had to pay labor) out to look at it to see what parts they would need to fix it.

When he pried it open with a heavy duty chisel he couldn't believe the amount of rust. He said the machine could not be fixed and it would cost more to fix it than replace it. He sent them pictures. I was told by the executive customer service rep that the engineers were looking at the pictures to figure out why it happened. It took her a couple of weeks before she had an answer as to the outcome. Her manager said it's not worthy of replacement and have the repairman fix it. I'm still waiting for this to happen.

I will NEVER purchase an LG appliance again. This matching washer and dryer cost us around $2,100. I've not purchased LG in the past but did a lot of homework and this machine came off better than others. The appliance rep that came out said he has been replacing the tops of these a lot for the same reason. They were all white machines.

Nothing efficient when you have to wash everything on bulky/heavy soil just to get it somewhat clean and then to add the need to wash several times to get them clean only adds insult to injury. Never again will I purchase another LG washer/dryer and wondering why they are not being held accountable for such a lousy product!!!

Bought the washer. Washed 1 load then it wouldn't drain. I live 100 miles away from the Menards.com I bought it from and I am an OR trucker and had to go back to work the next day so I called and they refuse to replace it and LG can't find anyone to fix it. New washer and no one in this state can repair it?

Why didn't I read these reviews before purchasing an LG washer. Now I'm stuck with an expensive washer that doesn't get my clothes clean and leaves stains!!! Never again.

We have had our LG Front Loading washer for 1 year. For the past 6 months I have found stains/marks on my white clothing. Sometimes there are marks all over the pants and sometimes just a few marks. The stains are rust colored. NOTHING will take the stain out! I have tried every solution/tip out there to get them out. I have thrown away some of my favorite white clothing because of this and am now FED UP!!! We clean and sanitize our washer frequently and we leave the door open when not in use. WHAT is wrong with this washer!!?
