I have a Jandy pool and I extended my Jandy product line by getting an upgrade on my pool equipment controller from them. It was installed by a pool professional, and it seems to be working fine and it does its job. It was fairly priced for the quality. I got some quotes from various people, and they recommended that the most cost-effective solution was to use the software upgrade to our system. It's called the iAquaLink, which is a web-based interface, so I'm able to control my pool through my iPhone, which is convenient. It also helps me to save money because I'm working with some Pentair equipment pump, so I'm able to customize the cleaning times. I run our pump more often during the hotter months and then, I dial it back during the cooler months. So, my electric bill will probably be better.
I had to call the customer service team at Jandy a few times for them to troubleshoot a few things, and they were pretty helpful. They have resolved an issue that I was having. And, also, they had to do something on their end to make sure all the functionality of my pool colored lights worked right. I could have possibly gone with a whole Jandy system, but it seems like pool professionals like to mix and match. They all seem to have a preference towards certain components. The people I worked with seemed to be in favor of Pentair pumps, filters, and heaters, but they liked the Jandy controller. I'm very satisfied with Jandy, and I was pretty pleased with the software and the controller. I inherited my pool, and I know there's a lot of good pool equipment providers. But Jandy is definitely on par and people could consider them for their software, controller, or pool equipment.

I had Jandy equipment before and I was happy with it, but it was very old and I needed to replace it. So, I went with them again. They did a great job and the installation went very smoothly. However, the pool heater and the variable-speed pump had to have a couple of service calls early on. There was a malfunction on the computer board twice inside the heater, so I talked to the contractor and each time, they came out the next day and fixed it. It’s working perfectly now. Other than the initial problems, it's great and of good value. I have used Jandy's products for almost 20 years and I've always been happy with them. They are reliable and I would buy them again. I would also recommend them to anyone else.

My pool equipment of 12 years quit working and I had it replaced with Jandy. I also looked at a couple of others, and Jandy seemed to be rated very high, so I went with them. Their cost was in line with some other parts I looked at. I worked with the pool company that takes care of my equipment to purchase from Jandy and everything worked out great. The installation also went well and it seemed like the online parts that they set up didn’t have any problems. The product is of very good quality and has been doing great. Also, everything is easy to use. I like having the online experience where I can do everything. I can do it through my iPhone too. I’m very satisfied with my experience with Jandy. I would do it again.

Our pool heater was not operating so I told the company we hired to do the work that I wanted a new one. They offered me the Jandy Pro and it's been great. Installation was an easy process and the heater seemed fine from the two times that I've used it.

We purchased a house and the pool equipment was pretty old and not efficient, so we decided to change the heater and pump. We use our local pool company for the maintenance and they recommended Jandy, so we trusted them to select the models. My wife ordered the equipment and the pool company installed it but there was a little hiccup between the gas company and the equipment. We had the manufacturer come out and look at what’s going on and identify the issue with the gas pipe and we had the gas company come and check it.
The new equipment needed a new meter, and when the gas company installed it, they had a little rock in the regulator. So every time the gas flows, the rock blocked it. The second time the gas company came, they fixed the problem. Jandy did come out several times, so the installation was pretty good. Both Jandy and the pool company were good and I’m happy with them. I appreciate Jandy’s product but maybe they could make it more energy efficient.

We had a new pool installed and the pool professional recommended Jandy Pro. Cash, the representative from Gulf Coast Gunite Pools, dealt with Jandy and he was absolutely the best. The installation of the equipment we got from Jandy Pro looked great to me and the performance has been outstanding. We've been totally satisfied so far.

My other equipment went out of commission and our pool service people recommended Jandy Pro. I purchased the pump, the filter, and the water heater. Our old Jandy filter and the new one did not jive so I also had to purchase the spider thing where you go to back wash and so on. Their prices are a little steep but that’s what I needed so I got them. And the Jandy products are doing wonderfully.

I got multiple bids, and one guy from MB Pools said he could get the Jandy pool equipment and I’d buy it through his company. He said that I may have to pay a bit more but I’ll get better service so I did that. I paid maybe $1000 more than what I should have paid, but I’m pretty happy with the way he installed it as he was professional. But it could have been a better experience because I had an initial problem. When the water was coming out of the pool and going to the Jandy filter process, it made a noise, so I called MB Pools. The guy there said they couldn’t fix my problem and that I should call Jandy because they’re not authorized for Jandy yet, even though he told me they were.
It was one of those experiences where I thought I was going to get more, and so I fixed it myself. The heater has been running fine since it was installed. It heats my hot tub which seats 12 in about 20 minutes to about 103 degrees, so it’s really good. I expected from Jandy something that had more metal parts because it’s light and about 40 pounds. They’re all plastic and it’s not like they used to make them where they were more quality built. I had a unit that was all metal and it was heavy and it wouldn’t blow. With the Jandy, when the strong wind blows, it kind of moves from the little bricks and could potentially break the seal on the two products. But that’s not really worrying right now.
It doesn’t leak gas and it works great. I like the LCD display, but it’s really expensive. The Jandy products cost $2100. Some of these other companies that they compete with, you buy their pool and spa heater and you get the installation free which is $1000. The Jandy product is great but it’s overpriced and not worth the money that you pay. I would recommend them if there’s nothing else out there that’s even better.

We were redoing our pool and Jandy Pro Series came recommended by the pool guy. I had a fairly new motor so he put in a new filter. I had an undersized single cartridge type filter to begin with, so the new one definitely holds up and it’s been nice that it works a little bit better than that. And I don’t have to clean it as longer. Also, a branch fell on the thing during the hurricane and the pool guy got the replacement parts quick. I’ve had the products for about four months now and all has been good so far.

The Jandy Pro sales rep explained to me the features of their unit that made it good. It's self-enclosed so that you had fewer issues with rodents and things like that getting in. It also has a valve that prevents water from getting in. It's a lot faster than my old heater. However, it stopped working and they had to replace something in it. Their technician even had to order parts so it was out of service for two weeks. It works well overall but I would definitely be unhappy if it breaks down again.

I placed a call to Jandy Pro Series two months ago and installed a variable speed pump by Pentair. I also replaced the home automation board a year and a half ago. I replaced the existing Jandy equipment but I did not want to complicate things so I kept Jandy as the vendor. The quality is good and the pool is performing fine since the installation.
My experience in the setup of the original board was very easy. The internet application leaves a bit to be desired because of the very old style interface. The people were helpful and customer service treated me well. But their knowledge was mixed and I struggled to get the new variable speed pump set up and working adequately. I explained the configuration and they connected remotely into my system through my account. They also struggled to get it working and I finally just reset the system. I had to go through the complete set up again and got it functioning. It took a few calls with Jandy to figure out what I needed to look at. Customer service was friendly and willing to help but the people I talked to needed support.
Overall I would recommend and stick with Jandy. The equipment is expensive but I'm a techie guy and I like the automation and the convenience and some of the capability it allows. Everything that I wanted to do I can do but as homes become more automated and the internet becomes more pervasive, Jandy has to step up their game for a consumer to be with them for the next five to eight years. I'd love to talk to their product people and tell them some features that I would love to see.

I had a new pool construction about two years ago and I purchased from Jandy Pro Series everything that came with the pool from the filter. The products have been working fine but there were a few minor hiccups here and there but it's more related to the debris from the hurricane. It’s good that it has its own saltwater system so I don't have to put in the liquid anymore. I asked the reps one time some questions on it and they mentioned to me that I needed to get the person who installed the pool to get a person in there to fix it. Overall, Jandy Pro hasn't failed me yet and I’d recommend them.

I had a Hayward pump that was only about four years old and it fell. I had my pool guy come out and I was looking for automation. We made the decision to purchase a Jandy pump to get the automation. My pool guy installed it. He called Jandy a few times to get some assistance and clarification in configuring it and setting it up. He installed it in just a few hours and everything works very well, except that he became MIA. And he was supposed to get my heater to work with the app. I'm going to call technical support and see if they can walk me through setting it up.
I don't like the app which I think is marginal at best. It is very convoluted and not very pleasant to look at. It's also not very easy to maneuver. It's not easy to change settings, rename things, and change timers. But the pump itself works great. So far, I love it and I'm very satisfied. As long as it lasts five-six years, I'll be happy. I also purchased other Jandy products such as the flappers and the seals. They don't last as long as I wish, but they last a year and a half to two years. And then, you're going to buy another one for 30 bucks.

We've heard people talk about how hard it is to take care of the pool but I have yet to experience that. Right now, we’re happy with the equipment since we've only had it a few months so hopefully, we’ll feel the same way a year or so from now. We've got the Polaris and the filters from Jandy Pro Series and all the equipment seems to work well together. It was part of the pool equipment that we got when the installer installed the new pool this summer. All I did was fill out the paperwork online and it was taken care of. It’s very efficient and I don't spend a lot of time cleaning. Everything has been easy and relatively simple so, we've been really pleased.

My old pump died and I needed a new one. I had my swimming pool guy who is kind of helping me with equipment and if I need any kind of maintenance and he recommended that I use Jandy Pro but I had a different one then. I had a Hayward Super Pump. I made sure by reading the reviews and liked Jandy Pro, and then we decided to purchase this one. I bought it online from the pool supply store instead of getting it from the pool guy who maintains my pool because I could get it cheaper when they offered. I saved a few hundred dollars by buying it myself and I just let them install it.
I do my own weekly maintenance - I open it up, clean it and let it go. I only call pool guys if there is some kind of issue, like if something is broken and I cannot fix it myself. The pump is really well-made and it works very quietly compared to the product that I had before. The name Jandy Pro is good and speaks for itself, and the pool and the pump are working fine. My pool is running perfect and it’s been doing great. It's only been like three months and hopefully, it will continue and give me years of service without a lot of headaches. I would definitely recommend Jandy Pro.

When our pool was first installed, there were issues with our irrigation. Water got into the filter and it would run off, get into the pool and get it dirty. So, we got these new filters with the company that installed the pool. The pool company dealt with Jandy and the filters have been working well. We placed the saltwater cell in the pool that we had for about two and a half years now. Jandy covered it under warranty, but I keep watching for the quality of the product.

We have two Jandy pumps and I have constant headaches with them. The lid starts leaking and had to be replaced, but now it’s getting air into it again. The pumps work fine but they leak and it’s difficult to take it apart and put lube on the orange part of the lid. We had the older version of the pumps and the new one was so expensive so that piece has been disappointing. The other equipment, the heater, was working okay but the whole copper inside was all rusted and then it started leaking profusely. We called customer service when the heater went bad and they told us that it's out of warranty and there was nothing they could do. We had to get a second one in and this is the second heater that we have. We had a tough time registering online but the new heater has been working well and it has been good for us. We contacted a store, they shipped the product to us and then we had a pool expert come in and had it installed for us.
We always have our products installed by a professional and the installation process is very straightforward. We use local experts that are referred to us by local pool stores. They're expensive but they do a good job. When we bought the house, the person who we bought it from trained us on how to maintain, do the water checks and do the adding of the chlorine, so we do the maintenance ourselves. The quality of the products that we purchased from Jandy was not very impressive for the price we pay and for the name we hear about Jandy. We've put a lot of money with them, yet the experience has been average. It's sad that the Jandy pool equipment gave us many more headaches much sooner than all the other stuff that we have in our house. Some things work well and some things don't.

We have a pool with no heater and I wanted to extend my swimming a few months out of the year. Since we’re putting in a house generator, it would be more efficient to get a gas heater propane. We have a 500-gallon propane in the ground so it heats up faster and it would use less electric than propane. In Florida, it will be more cost-efficient than a gas heater and the size also mattered. I needed it small and the electrics are so big. I researched a lot of and went into Pinch A Penny. They sell Jandy water heater there so I purchased through them. We did the installation ourselves and it was easy. We have to redo everything since we bought a new pump as well. A variable speed pump which we also researched but it was not from Jandy. We had to redo all of the plumbing to get it on the pad. We ripped everything out and put everything in new.
We love the pool heater we bought from Jandy. The quality of the water heater is very good. We put in a Sacrificial Anode since we have a falls water and we wanted to protect it as much as we could from the falls generator that comes on after. The Sacrificial Anode is in before the process. We put a bypass in it as well. We ran a bypass for it so that when we're not running it, we could bypass and then it backs itself. The heater was reasonable in price compared to some of the others I saw and it's been three months since it was installed. It takes about 15 minutes to heat from 82 to 85 degrees. It was perfect and still warm. Overall, it was an outstanding experience with Jandy and I would recommend them to anybody.

My pool equipment was 10 years old so the pumps were starting to go out and I had to buy replacements. I bought the pumps through a dealer of Jandy and the pool professional installed the two pipes and some wires. About three weeks ago, one of the pumps went out pretty quickly. It was a three horsepower, which is more than enough, but the actual pump part that creates deflection was defective.
There was a problem with contacting the place that I bought the pump from which is Pool IQ. They wanted me to contact Jandy but I didn't know what the exact problem is so then Jandy wanted to talk to my pool guy. It was a phone contacting for a while and they want to just replace the pump part instead of the whole pump. But I didn't want just the part since I spent 900 bucks for a new pump and now it's defective. That part was a pain in the butt. We were going in circles. There was no finding the bottom line person that would say that they're going to do this.
It took a couple of weeks to get the pump. That was a problem since I have a house that's on the lake with the pool and I rent it sometimes on Vacation Rental By Owners. I had people there that were renting the house and the pump had gone out and so I had to scramble and find a replacement pump to get it by while people were there. Otherwise, I could've lost a couple of grand on my rental. Jandy finally replaced it with a brand new pump so it was okay and everything is fine.

After Zodiac Pool Systems support representative Casey contacted me, I felt that he really cared about my concerns and my pool. He did everything that could be done to assure me that everything will be taken care off. I am 100% satisfied in my experience with Zodiac and how they handled this whole situation. I am very satisfied in their products, customer service, warranty and the company. To anyone who is interested in purchasing Zodiac products rest assured that you are in good hands and the company stands by its products. Based on the reviews, Jandy Pro is the most efficient so I chose to buy the pump, the AquaLink, and the motherboard from them. The products were good upfront. The pump costs $1,600. I expect some savings so it's working fine pumping water and I saw a 20% increase in my electricity which was great. The motherboard might have been some third company product but it just connects all the electronics together. But the AquaLink was not a good product. I've had it replaced already but it goes down everyday and it's so inconsistent. The pool guy was frustrated as he came out 11 times because I complained it to him when he installed it and it's not working. It keeps getting disconnected from the internet so he returned it and bought a new one. The remote and app that they set up were not there and it cost a lot of money.
I was on the verge of having the pool guy pick it up and just thrash it because it's ruining the whole pool experience. It's either they're using old technology or whatever but it's not being connected to the internet even though I've purchased and tried two different top of the line routers to test which one works. The pool guy and I called customer service and I've stayed on the phone with them. I went through with the first person the whole process of calling and explain what the problem was but they can't resolve it and they needed to connect me to someone else. Then I spent another half an hour explaining to them and doing the same test steps that the previous help tried to do but they would only get nowhere. Then they blame on the internet provider and the modem. The problem was I haven't had any of my whole house connected so there were no other products except their AquaLink so I know there's nothing wrong with my internet provider.
It has to do something with their product where there is no technology so the customer service had been terrible. Jandy Pro has a return policy for three months and it’s terrible as well. It cost me $3000 and if I spent thousand dollars, I want a little better than that. They provide this short term, crappy warranty because they have a high rate failure and didn’t want everyone lining up. It took me a couple of months just to have it set up after I've purchased it, and I had to schedule and write all that stuff so the warranty was not sufficient. At the minimum, it should be a year. It's an expensive upgrade and the company doesn’t stand by its product. They just sell and don't want to accept them.

I had purchased my salt system about eight years ago. It worked good for four years. It worked so-so for another couple of years and not even really so-so in the last year. Then I went to a couple of years of just using chlorine because their salt cell was extremely expensive. It was like almost buying a brand new system. The parts were also hard to get and the system was outdated. I couldn’t see putting good money into that old system because I wasn’t sure the controllers were still working properly.
I wanted to do a little bit of homework on what system I really wanted when my friend said that he got Zodiac and it was recommended from another person. He said that the salt cells weren't as expensive as the ones that I had purchased. Then I got to looking at the Zodiacs and the different systems, the reputation, and the comments that people were making about them. It seemed like it was made in America and the one I had was made in India. Jandy's salt chlorinator is working wonderfully. I'm very pleased with it now that we worked out the bugs. I haven't had an ounce of trouble with it once we got the water clear. I would definitely recommend the system to another person. I only had one summer with them, but I do have friends that had multiple summers with them and they're very pleased with their system.

I'm very impressed with the Jandy product and I appreciate the service that I've received from them. However, the lights they have put in the pool have failed eight times in two years. It’s like if I have them on purple all are purple but one, that one might be white or green. Initially, the one who troubleshooted the problem was the pool service company that I was dealing with. It went on for about a year and then I got to a point that they began just calling Jandy to come out. The gentleman from Jandy knows what needs to be done and they're in and out. I didn't even know they were there, and then the lights would all become the same color again.
The pool lights that I have are not a Jandy product. They were from a company that they have bought. They've been very responsive, technicians have come out in a timely manner and replaced the light but I just don't think that the lights are at a level that Jandy would appreciate to have the problems that they're having. Other than that, I'm very pleased and have had no issues with the Jandy products that I have—the chlorinator, the pumps, and the heater. Jandy has a good name in the pool industry.

The guy who services my pool purchased a filter from Jandy. It's very good and better than the DH Filter that I had. It's easier to take care of. It was a little expensive at $800, but it was a good move. However, when he picked up the product to bring here to install it, there was an item missing out of the sealed box so it took another day or two days after that to get the rest of the product. So, it was four days without a circulation and it greened my pool. It cost me another $100 to get the pool cleaned. Jandy needs to have quality checked when they box stuff a little bit better because that's a costly expense for a homeowner on the delay. I'm surprised Jandy didn't get in touch me about this issue because I said something to them, and I never heard back from them. Also, my pool guy told me that I wouldn't have to clean it as much as the DH Filter, but it seems like I have to clean it once every week and a half now.

Jandy Pro's customer service was okay but was a little frustrating at times. I've gone to three or four different pool supply stores in our area and the product I needed was not something I could find locally and they had to order it. The manual that came with my saltwater system was not explicit on the exact make and model of what I needed to order. And when I called Jandy Pro Series, I had so many difficulties tying out the exact make and model I needed to order.
I asked the customer service person if I could order it through them and he said I have to get it through a retailer. I told him that the retailers in my area don't care and they've been confused about the model number. He said I could order online from the supplier but was unable to recommend one where I could be confident of getting exactly the right make and model that I need. I felt like I was taking a chance that I might not get the right exact part but it ended up being the correct part. I just installed the part and it's been good. We like the saltwater system on our pool.

They said it was going to be really great and that I only have to clean it very seldom. And I’ve been amazed at how clean it keeps the pool which is an 18 by 36 so it’s a big one. The filter’s absolutely incredible. There's no backwashing. In fact, I would recommend it to anybody else. If they want to change anything, the filter would be the thing to do. It works really well. The only thing was I didn’t get a manual. It’s all online in a PDF form, but it would’ve been nice to have a hard copy.

I had an issue with the salt generator where the flow center was not working. I called Jandy's tech support once and they were really helpful over the phone. I had a question on how to set the salt level and they told me that if the sensor changes again then it is bad. I chose Jandy after talking to the vendor and hearing some of his recommendations. It's more compact in size and it also has the feature where, if the heater is not on, it has a diverter plate that keeps the water from flowing into the heater.
It may be slightly more expensive than Raypak but it's competitive with all the other ones around. I was willing to pay a little more for the more updated electronics and the size. I just had it installed and it works great. As far as long term reliability and quality, that seems to be all right and only time will tell as to whether it's going to last or not. He showed us how he usually does all the passwords, and if I'm confused, I text him and he'd help me. This automation panel has all the little automatic switches in my pool pump, for my spa, and the lights. It's like a little transponder that I put in my house that does all the on and off about it. We didn’t want to put it in the house on a keypad because we didn’t want the kids to touch it. It was really simple that my husband just went in there and was able to figure it out.
The quality is nice and it hasn't broken yet. Also I didn’t think it cost that much to put it in either. If we were more tech-savvy or outgoing, it would have more stuff that you can use with it. Honestly, I’m not very advanced and I don’t understand all that pool equipment stuff, but you go in there and it just says how long you want the pump to run and all the settings. It’s great and we like it. We just use it for our pool and to turn my spa on and off, but you can hook it up to your pool lighting and your stereo system. I can even hook it to my air conditioner in my house. It's easy, efficient and does what it's supposed to do. I've recommended it to friends.

Jandy's reps were courteous but it was hard to understand without somebody there showing us what to do instead of just over the phone. We had to figure out everything ourselves so it took a while. Also, the pool pump is too small for our pool. It's only for a 40,000-gallon pool and we have 47,000-gallon pool. Every time I bring the pool water to get it tested, I'm always asked how big the pool is and what pump we have. We also get a lot of calcium coming out the jets that look like white sand. It has something to do with the system but we don’t know what it is so I contacted the pool builder.
Dear Kevin,
Thank you for sharing your feedback for Jandy and AquaLink equipment. We're sorry you've had some trouble with various aspects of the equipment.
Some things to note:
1. Our technical support department now utilizes a feature which allows our technicians to see what you see via live video sharing. Next time you call in, feel free to ask about the video sharing feature to allow you to better interface with our reps.
2. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about pump size since that is determined by your pool builder. If you'd like to explore other pump size options to discuss with your pool professional, including our energy efficient variable-speed pumps feel free to visit: www.jandy.com/en/products/pumps
3. Calcium build-up is typically related to water chemistry or if you have a D.E. filter, you may be seeing excess D.E. debris in your pool. We recommend consulting your pool professional about this.
We hope these tips help! If you'd like us to contact you directly to offer assistance, please let us know. You can also email us directly at feedback@zodiac.com with any other questions you may have.

My Jandy Pro lights were installed by authorized dealer/builder in 2014. I really liked them in 2014 and that was the only season when I had good experience with those lights. Over past 3 seasons (year 2014, 2015, 2016), we had to repair the lights two times. The first it had a sync issue and then the second time it was the same sync issue and light had to be replaced. This, 2017 season, it started not syncing again and then one of the lights went off and now appears to be dead. Frankly, I would not expect this type of lack of reliability from $2 light bulb let alone from sophisticated $500 pool light. I am really disappointed and at this point not sure if I even should go ahead and repair this light or think about replacing the whole system. Obviously, I am not a very happy customer.

Everything was the worst experience ever. The pool was crooked and leaking, then the pump was grounded and blew up my GFI breaker. Plus, the remote control took forever to load up. It kept burning up the batteries so Campbell replaced it. They did what they could after-sales, but as for the experience as a whole, I wouldn't recommend anybody installing an in-ground pool. I talked to a lot of my neighbors and they had the same experience with different installers.
As for Jandy, I haven't had any problems. I put the pool heater in myself and it's been doing well. However, I'm a lead technician so I'm getting a lot of calls on the Legacy product which is garbage. It keeps tripping and burning up wires. I overheard from suppliers that Legacy has been their biggest problem. I'm trying to replace them with the JXi but most suppliers don't wanna deal with Jandy anymore. Overall, Jandy has good products and prices. Their product is doing what it should be doing.

It was also nice to have someone knowledgeable to walk us through to make sure that we're making an informed decision. It was actually the owner and that was very helpful. The price was what we expected to pay when we did our research online.
We've only had it for a year or for a season but we're quite happy with the product itself, so far. It has wifi capability, so we can control it even when we're not home, turn it off and back on, or program the pool filter so it's on at a certain time and off at another time. It's spectacular. It even saved us some money on our electric bill, which is what we were looking for because we had noticed that there was a spike in the summers when the pool filter and motor are on. Plus, we also received the rebate from our electric company for any variable speed pump because of the less cost of it and less utilization of electricity.
My husband was annoyed with our old pump but the maintenance for this pump is pretty easy. No frustrations at all. Pool maintenance is also a lot easier because the force of the pump is a lot higher than what we had previously. And so, the leaves and debris going into the primary and secondary skimmer makes the pool clean-up a lot easier. It is much cleaner and there is less expense on our part.

I purchased a new home from a builder and I've got this pool where all the equipment has been less than satisfactory. I had three Jandy pool lights that failed after two years and I had to replace two of those which cost me $1000. They have replaced the larger LED light with a lot smaller, better-sealed light. But the design of both initial LED lights was poor because they got water in them. These lights have a three-year warranty but the other one had a one-year warranty. I bought the lights from Pool Supply World online and had them shipped to me. And then, I had my pool guy come, thread and install them in the existing PVC pipe. I've got a Jandy controller over there so I wanted to tie those back to Jandy lights but it's a multi-color light.
Jandy is a good product but I have had terrible luck with these lights. The lights were about $700 and it cost me $300 to have them installed. My third one's started to flicker different colors. It's supposed to be either red, green, one solid color and now they're red with some green inside of them and it's got water inside of it. So, it's getting ready to fail and that's going to cost me another $500. These things should last longer than that. I also had a heater manifold and it hasn't been very reliable and they had to replace it. I'm very disappointed with them. I had Jandy equipment by the pool in Midland, Texas and didn't have as many problems with it. I also had a Jandy automatic chlorinator which failed after about two years. When I had a problem with the Jandy component, they said that I was supposed to register all these stuff with Jandy. How am I supposed to know that? If I buy a $70,000 pool and enclosure and I've got a problem with it, why should I have had to call Jandy to get a new chlorine generator? If the pool company puts in Jandy equipment, I assume that they stand by the warranty from the day it's installed, whether I call them up and go through all this rhythm and roll of registering things or not. That should not be my responsibility. I didn't even know Jandy yet at that point. Also, several of my neighbors have had the same thing. But other than, it's been very good and I've recommended them.

The guy working on my pool recommended Jandy Pro Series to me. My experience with them is not the greatest, but it's not the worst, either. I got the automatic pool equipment control installed. It controls the lights, the Jacuzzi pump and everything about the pool. It works but it has problems and I use it less because of that. To turn it on, I have to turn the whole remote on and it takes a couple of minutes before it starts. Once it starts, I turn on something, then if I need to turn it off, I have to go back in there, turn the remote on and it takes about half a minute. To make an improvement, it shouldn't turn off on its own so quickly. They did that so the battery doesn't run out, but they should have something electrical on the wall so we don't have to worry about the battery so much.

I have Jandy – the activators, valves and so forth. They were functioning fine. But the control unit was a different make and they don't make it anymore. So I ended up going with Jandy. So far, I have no complaints. I worked with the son of the owner of the company and he was great. He's the one I talked to from the beginning until the end. He showed me exactly what needs to be done and the pricing. He was well-aware of the product, installed it himself and it's working. And I can use my iPad or iPhone to monitor or schedule or turn off or on the pool lights, the pumps, etcetera.

I purchased the automated system from my pool service people, Pink Dolphin. They are very good. They helped me decide whether I should update my older AquaLink system with the iAquaLink or change to an entirely new system. And it seemed like the best way to go is just to update the unit I had, so that's what we did. The older system has been fine. It's been installed before I bought the house and it's still basically working well. I just upgraded the board and provided the wireless link with it which is nice. We have the new system for a couple of months now. It was a little wacky and we had a few little ripples at the beginning but everything straightened down and is working fine now. So far, so good.

Hayward pool products are very big in the state of Florida but I'm not a great lover of it. So when I took out my 18 year-old pool pump, I decided to go for a Jandy Pro Series pump. I liked it so I stuck with it and went from a three-quarter to a one horse power. I purchased it through a pool supply in Krystal Clear Aquatics, a company that also does some work on my pool. I tried to buy it through Amazon at first, but Amazon's warranty was only 90 days, compared to that of Krystal Clear wherein they gave me a year on the pump. I installed it myself since I'm a contractor, and it took me an hour to do it.
I have a pool professional who comes in once a week to monitor my chemicals, but basically, both he and I take care of the pump. I have a Hayward filter on the pump and he pulls that every three weeks and power cleans it. We change the filter once a year, and I have an Alligator system that runs eight hours a day when the pool pump runs. It works fine and I'm looking to get seven to ten years out of the pump, because it runs 365 days a year. It runs for six hours in the winter and eight hours in the summer. So far, I'm satisfied with the Jandy pump and I would recommend it.

We just purchased two new gas heaters from Jandy Pro not too long ago. The guy that has been servicing our old heaters for a long time, Brian, recommended the product and it's the one that he uses. He also installed everything for us. We use the pool every day and everyone's happy with them. We had a couple of hiccups as far as trying to figure out how to not have our gas fill it so high and when we had those first two bills, we were asking why are these brand new, high-efficient ones cost more than our old crappy ones.
It was basically because they were constantly trying to maintain that exact temperature, whereas the old heaters were just running and I was turning them on and off constantly, whereas these new ones you the kind that you set it and forget it. So, we figured out that if we turn them off at 7:00 PM with the covers on and then fire them back up at 4:00 AM, then our pool is perfect for the next day. So, we installed timers to have them turn off at night and it actually helped a ton once we did that. Overall, Jandy has been fantastic.

I've read a lot of these comments and felt I had to chime in my 2 cents. I've been a pool builder for over 30 years in Lake Havasu City, one of the worst climates in the country with our excessive heat in the summer. The Jandy equipment I install on my pools has been the most reliable and highest quality equipment I have ever used. I tell reps that want me to try some new product that if it makes it in Havasu, it'll make it anywhere. :) I used to be a Pentair dealer but 15 or so years ago I tried the Jandy equipment on my and my dad's pool just to see how it would fare. I've never looked back. I have very very little trouble. I love the Aqualink automation systems. All my customers rave about the convenience of having total pool control at their fingertips.
The IQ20 is a total winner, IMO. They can control the timing and operation of their equipment, cleaning cycles, lights, and more whether they're at home or on the go. The JXI heater is also a revolutionary technology -- it has a small footprint, is easy to retrofit, and operates quietly which our customers appreciate. I'm not surprised very often in this pool business, but I was blown away at how fast and efficient the JXI heater performed.
Not to start any flame wars here, but I can't help to think that a lot of these problems I'm seeing here are user error, neglect and/or misuse. I have personally seen countless amounts of problems related to a pool owner or service person not maintaining the chemical levels properly. Example, I changed out a heat exchanger last year (not even my pool) due to a salt system that had not been properly maintained. I think the Jandy equipment is the best stuff on the planet, and I defy anyone to prove me wrong. I've used everything out there and sure, with any brand equipment you are going to have an issue here and there, but in my 30 plus years of experience building pools, Jandy equipment is a notch above the rest.

Their motors will save you so much money on the electric bill. I have one at my house. I saved 90 dollars on my electric bill. I will say this to Hayward, Waterway, Century, Pentair if you want something cheaply made and worry about if they came with everything or if they will even work when you get them home then go with the other companies. Hi. Bought a new Jandy 175,000 BTU natural gas pool heater in 2013 and had a repair done, not under warranty, the first summer used and that was 2013. Had another repair in 2015 and now we again need another $600.00+ worth of repairs and that excludes the service call that was $90.00. I was in contact with Jandy and was told they would look at the units record and get back to me with a solution. I wrote to them on at least 3 more occasions but never got an answer or response from them.
We have an 18' round above ground pool and we were told that this unit would last many many years because the size means it would not work as hard as the smaller unit recommended for this size pool. Plus, we live in Quebec and the only Jandy service provider is over 25 miles from here and only visits the area once per week as they do not have enough repairmen. If you ever decide to purchase a Jandy product, please think twice and three times as the other persons who wrote here are not all crazy, stupid or asking for something that is impossible. Truth in advertising is not the norm for Jandy.

Very disappointed in the Jandy Aquapure PLC1400 Pro-Series salt cell. We constructed new pool in January 2015 and in April of 2016 the cell started giving a 123 error code which is low current caused by faulty electrical wire plug and of course, the warranty has lapsed. In less than 18 months the center wire connector of a 3 connector wiring system had totally corroded which was supposed to last 3-5 years. After replacing the wire the system now gives me a 125 and 194 error code which indicates cell needs to be cleaned, and 194 cell needs to be replaced. I cleaned the cell and it looks perfect inside, therefore I am left with replacing a cell that is less than 18 months old. From the research I have done it apparent that Jandy by Zodiac has had problems with their salt cell systems year after year, the product seems to be manufacture with more defects every time a new product is introduced lasting less than the previous.
I don't know if I going to change my salt system completely because when I chose to install a salt system I did it to save time and money and the headaches I have encountered the last few months are really more aggravating than adding chlorine once a week. Therefore I would not recommend this salt system product to anyone at this time until Zodiac make a cell that last the 3-5 years they claim.

I must say that immediately after the post, someone from Jandy engineering and customer service contacted me to discuss the situation and agreed that the failure which the technician discovered was not expected. Jandy took care of the entire replacement including working with the dealer to ensure I was not further inconvenienced. The pump was replaced and the old pumped returned to the Jandy engineering group so they could try to find the cause of the failure and take corrective action if needed. Although the failure was aggravating, the ultimate response and speed of response by Jandy has restored some of my confidence in the brand and, as a result, I would consider purchasing another Jandy in the future if the need ever arose.

At a cost of $1200 I purchased this pump expecting to save costs. After less than 4 years the pump suddenly stopped working. Jandy tech support would not help me since I was not a "certified Jandy Tech" so told me to have an authorized servicer come out at a cost of $100 only to be told that the Motor Drive or the Control Board is shot and to replace either is more expensive than buying a whole new pump at another $1200 plus $300 for installation. The dealer said that Jandy variable speed pump failures are common and it is cheaper to replace. In fact they had 4 reconditioned units on the floor in this same model. No offer by Jandy or the dealer to assist in this issue. Our previous pump last for 15 years. I would never recommend to anyone a Jandy product.

We had a swimming pool installed in 2008-2009 and only a few years after the Aqua-Pure system began to fail. Then about a year after that the pump failed, then shortly after the Lite 2 heater. I would think a quality system would last at least between 5-10 years. We will not purchase any Jandy/Zodiac product in the future.

I'm shocked to read others with the same issue. This will be my 4th year since we built our pool. Everything is great but the Jandy heater. I've had the unit replaced already once due to issues with the unit. Last year tech replaced the unit and this year our unit again has issues. The heat exchanger has a hole in it. They said at first it's water chemistry issue. Well our pool store sent in all our tests which shows everything is perfect. They won't budge and won't help us. I'm not letting this one go. They will be receiving a nice letter from our lawyer. I'm sure they are well aware their units are defective.

Decided to try a salt chlorinator (APURE35) by Jandy during a pool remodel. After one year the output of chlorine started dropping and error low salt/low temperature started to appear despite neither problem existing. The chlorinator was removed and cleaned in late fall and reconnected in early spring so it would not be damaged by accidental use in cold weather or a hard freeze. After two years the output of chlorine dropped further and the plates would clog with calcium after only two or three weeks. Finally in the third year (after contacting Jandy and was told the unit was probably bad) the unit was removed and the winter cover left on. While out of the country the O-Ring on the cover failed causing a major loss of water until my brother was able to repair the damage.
The next year with the unit still removed the plastic threads holding the winter cover on sheared off causing the pump to try to empty the pool while the auto fill desperately tried to fill the pool (in the middle of the current drought). Again my brother came to the rescue as I once again was out of the country. I don't know if other salt chlorinators are as problematic as this Jandy product was (now permanently removed) but it would behoove the prospective salt chlorinator purchaser to consider other brands as the Jandy product has proved quite problematic.

Our YMCA purchased two brand new heaters in 2014. Shortly after installation we had leaking issues and were informed the problem was with the heat exchanger (After several visits from the technician). They did replace the heat exchanger under warranty. However the second heater had the same issue shortly after. They are now blaming the problem of our environment, however this was never an issue during the time they were selling us the heaters and will not warranty the heater. We have also had other issues during the short life span of the heaters and I would not recommend a Jandy heater to anyone.

I bought my Jandy LRZ pool heater two summers ago and the unit stopped working. After only two years the unit looks like crap. It has rusted inside and out. The display was flashing ignition control fault. I called a technician and he replaced my heat sensor and realized with some investigation found the heat exchanger was leaking. Being brutally honest he told me to not spend any more money on him it would cost too much. Better to go with a new heater and NOT Jandy. $2300 and I only got two seasons out of the bloody thing. Don't waste your money on this company's crap. After reading other reports it looks like I'm not alone on this. I've tried contacting the company by email and phone and no such luck. 1 year warranty is **.

Jandy pool heater Model LRZ Electronic Natural Gas and LP - There is reason they only warranty for one year...you will get one year's use out of it before you need to start servicing it. At least this is what has happened in our experience. We have had problems at the start of every season with this heater and once again, this year, we have replaced 2 parts and it is still not working. It's too tiring to list the details of our experience but suffice it to say that I would strongly recommend that you DO NOT purchase this heater...EVER.

I have a Legacy LRZ 175K BTU EP pool heater. I purchased this heater to replace a Laars (taken over by Jandy) unit of same size/type on 6/2012. It has worked for about 12 hours since installation. The problem: the unit shuts down within 10 seconds of starting and indicates a "Control Ignition Fault." A Jandy authorized service rep checked the unit without success, notified Jandy of his observations, and Jandy immediately refused to warranty the unit because it was installed in a 225 sf pool mechanical room in conformance to Jandy's Installation and Operation Manual. The manufacturer's applied label inside the unit states the heater is certified for natural gas or LP indoor or outdoor use and Sections 1, 2 & 3 of the Installation Manual gives detailed instructions on how to install the heater INDOORS!
I have called Jandy numerous times and they refuse to help me with the problem. I finally (yesterday) got a supervisor to agree to have this service rep call me today -- nothing so far. I understand their concern for propane fumes and I have complied with all the installation requirements but the unit doesn't work -- THAT'S THE PROBLEM. HECK, it's not good to run your car in the garage but at least it starts and runs!! I want them to fix it or replace it. I'll pay the difference if the replacement costs more but they need to pick this inoperative unit up and make good on replacing/fixing it.

Our pool maintenance company noticed that we had a problem with our Jandy pool heater and that it had an error code. This pool heater was about two years old. He suggested that his subtrade namely Mike ** Contracting of Brantford, Ontario have a look at our situation. He showed up early in the day on Monday July 21st and then called me to tell me that we needed to replace the pool heater because the liner was cracked and further we needed to replace our gas line because there was a problem with this line from the house to the pool heater. He stated that he already ordered us a new heater and expedited it due to our association with the pool company.
On Monday night, a personal friend of mine, namely Charles ** who is a master HVAC specialist of 40 years came out to look at this heater. He told me to have that new heater cancelled because he only needed a new fuse link part and the rest he could correct when the part came in. I called Mr ** and told him to cancel the new heater because I had a friend who was going to rectify the situation. He reiterated that he had many years of experience and was a bonafide rep for Jandy and he insisted that the heater needed to be replaced.
On Thursday July 24th Charles showed up with the part at 4:00 P.M. and replaced the fuse link and cleaned the burners. It not only didn't have a cracked liner, it didn't have a liner at all. The heat exchanger was fine. Within 30 minutes he had the heater up and running perfect. Charles also told me there was no problem with our gas line as well. This service cost me a coffee.
Mike ** wanted to replace the pool heater. He either doesn't know what he is doing or is a scam artist. But he represents himself as a Jandy expert! Pretty Scary!! Mike ** advertises under Jandy and this was a Jandy heater. Why was Charlie who is not a Jandy Heater man able to repair the situation very simply and with little cost? I am very suspicious!
It was just fortunate that my friend Charles was able to come out the same evening or I would have been scammed. I wonder how many other people have had Jandy heaters replaced when it was unnecessary? The above history was emailed to my pool maintenance company who forwarded it on to Mr **. Not surprisingly he has not contacted me. Buyer Beware re Mike ** and Jandy in Ontario Canada.
