I got the super deluxe model of the Jandy VS FloPro Variable Speed Pump and accomplished nothing. I was given two options by the pool company and I was told that Jandy offers a better service contract so I got them. However, the system is overpriced. I paid $1,000 for this when the typical pump is only $450 to $500 so it’s ludicrous. They say it pays for itself overtime. My electric bill is usually $350 a month and I expected around $60 savings but I haven't seen that. They said that maybe the kids use more power. But they claim that this represents 40% of my electric bill. I’m not that smart but I know how to find good people so I let the pool reps do the maintenance. I don’t touch it. It’s too computerized. It also has a loud noise. It sounds like an airplane taking off. But the pool looks clean and everything I have is Jandy.
Hi William, Thanks for sharing your honest opinion of the Jandy VS FloPro variable-speed pump. The best way to get energy savings from your pump is to utilize the lowest flow settings for low usage times and the higher flow settings when there is greater demand (kids, many swimmers, etc.). Your pool professional can inform you of the current flow cycles the pump is operating at. Some adjustments may be able to help you achieve the savings you are looking for. Ultimately, we're happy to know your pool is clean and the pump is performing reliably. We bought a home in November and when we opened the pool for the first time and looked at the equipment, it was literally 30 years old. We wanted to go ahead and replace everything and I got advice from Swim Gem and picked the system they thought was best which was the Jandy Pro Series, and they installed it really quickly and really well. It has been a great system all summer long. I love it. It’s easy to use. The pool has been maintenance-free. You hear stories about pools are hard to maintain and hard to keep clean and I haven’t had that experience at all. If you check your water and you know what the numbers are supposed to look like, it’s not very hard. The system has made it easier for me. It was a really good price. I would highly recommend Jandy Pro Series.

We had a new pool built and a Jandy equipment was put in by our contractor. We've had a couple of issues since it's been installed, but they are some random things. When I call in to Jandy, they would filter me through to somebody in our area locally. We've had some trouble with the salt and with the heater freezing up. After we tried to get a hold of somebody at Jandy, we ultimately went through our pool guy who had a connection. We had to replace the handle of the chlorinator and there was one other issue that we had to have our pool guy work on. Our pool service takes care of things once a week and they adjust the jets and the filters. I've also always had, just right off the gate, a really severe mineral line around the water line which I assume is too much salt in the water. It's an unsightly line around the tile that we seem to have gotten immediately and can't get off. Otherwise, we have a very clean pool and it's very low maintenance.

I had a good pump before, also a Jandy, but it was very old. I wanted to stick with the same so we replaced it with Jandy Pro Series. The purchasing experience was flawless. I have a pool guy and he bought and installed it for me. He maintains them too. The quality of the pump is very good and so far, the system has been performing perfectly.

I found the Jandy Pro Series heater online then I spoke to them over the phone to purchase it. I received excellent customer service from their reps. They were very responsive, professional, and assisted me in a timely manner. Then I had someone from Jandy install the heater and everything was perfect.

I had a Hayward pump that had gotten very old and it needed to be replaced. Something wasn’t working right and so I talked with the guy who was maintaining my pool at the time and we agreed that if I spent a little extra money upfront for this variable speed pump, I would see rewards in terms of the cost to run it. I did some math and decided that I would give it a shot. He picked the brand Jandy Pro Series. Then he brought somebody that sometimes works with him and they uninstalled the Hayward and then installed the Jandy Pro inside of 90 minutes, which I thought was pretty cool. I was really surprised at how quickly he got it together. And then, before he could get it up and running, he had to get a piece that didn’t fit onto the pipes and plumbing stuff that I had. He came back and finished in five minutes.
One time, I applied for a credit with my electricity company and when I took advantage of that on the electric company site, they didn’t have the name of the product that I purchased. Jandy helped me get that sorted out, then I was able to check the right box and I got a $300 rebate which was nice too, ‘cause I spent about $1,300 for buying it and paying the guy to put it in. I'm quite happy and I really like my variable speed pump from Jandy. It lowered my cost of electricity for about forty bucks a month less so that has been a very nice aspect of it.
Wow, Tami. Thank you for sharing your complete Jandy story online for other pool owners to hear about. It sounds like you had an exceptional experience from beginning to end -- from the fast Jandy VS FloPro pump installation provided by your pool servicer, to the Jandy customer support and energy savings you experienced after the pump was up and running.
We value all customers, and your feedback makes us smile knowing you are having the pool experience you deserve.

Our old pump went out and we needed a new one. The guys that come out and keep our pool maintained recommended Jandy Pro. They, then, ordered it for me and installed it as well. We changed it over to saltwater from chlorine. The other pump, if you were outside anywhere in the yard, you could hear it. This one, even if you are sitting right on top of it, it is very quiet. I'd recommend it.

The technician who was doing my pool service one time recommended Jandy to me. I chose to buy a salt chlorinator system which he acquired at the place where he buys his equipment. He then installed it for me. I've gotten rid of that technician since and a new person has been maintaining it. Currently, the chlorinator keeps a more even level of chlorine in my system so I don't have spikes and drops. Normally, we put a bunch of chlorine once a week in the summer. Since its installation, the chlorinator has kept a more steady flow. However, it hasn't been as maintenance free as I had expected.
Customer service is my number one complaint about Jandy. While the product itself seems to be doing what it needs to do, it had a leak recently so I had to call customer service. There wasn't even a number available online. I emailed support and they only gave me a list of people that are authorized service companies. I knew I would need to call one of them. I told the rep that I already have a pool maintenance person and that it's a product that I could send pictures of how badly it's leaking and where. When I did that, Jandy took a week to respond and when they did, they said that the only way they could have a warranty service is through one of their authorized dealers.
So, I ended up having to call Jeff & Karen's Pool Service and it took almost a month to get the replacement part because they said it was on backorder. But then when my regular pool maintenance person went to Jandy directly, their reps told him it wasn't on back order and they could give him a unit right away. At that point however, I already had a request with the person I was told I had to go through for Jandy's warranty service. Overall, when Jandy's product is working, it's fine. Still, I will never go with Jandy again because of the service level I received. People should look at other options.
Dear Jeffrey, We are deeply sorry your service experience was less than satisfactory. One of our representatives will give you a call within 48 hours to speak with you personally. Best Regards, Jandy Pro Series

My purchasing experience with Jandy was fine. I chose the Jandy heater myself based on feedback that I had from the various people that have purchased it. And then, I asked my pool guy when we decided on the installation to go with that unit. It was installed by a professional and they did fine. I have my regular pool company that does the maintenance of it. It’s been fine now with the exception of a couple of times when we’ve had a problem with the wireless connection but it started working after a while. The cost was quite high though but we're very happy with the overall quality of the heater. It was for our rental units. And so, it obviously makes it easier for renters to be able to use the pool when it’s cooler. I’d recommend Jandy Pro Series.

I needed the heater for my pool. I had a good experience with the old one, a Jandy, but it was 15 years old so it needed to be replaced. I figured the last one was good, so I went with Jandy Pro Series again and it was installed by a professional. He had a little problem putting it in and I got involved and helped because calling up the Jandy hotline and trying to get somebody to come in and properly install the heater after the first person was having issues was basically useless.
They kept telling me to call people and I called them and they would say, “No, we don’t do that.” I said, “I got your number from Jandy.” And they said, “Well, I don’t know why Jandy keeps giving out our number but we don’t do that.” They didn’t have anybody in Staten Island, New York where I live which is a half a million people and they couldn’t give me anybody within that area. They gave me people that were in New Jersey who wouldn’t come to New York. And then, they gave me somebody else that was in Long Island, New York, which is a three-hour drive. So he would have to drive three hours here to fix the heater and drive three hours home, and he refused to do that. So, I wound up doing it myself because I couldn’t get anybody to fix it. But once I did it, it seems to be working good since then.
Overall, the cost was fair, the quality is fine and it’s easy to maintain. I get a longer season out of it. But I wouldn’t count on Jandy fixing it for me. They don't have anybody to talk to at all. I would recommend their product but not their services because if you have a problem, you’re on your own. I happened to be a handy person. If you’re not a handy person, you’re out of luck.

I have been extremely disappointed with the Jandy warranty services and their representative in Georgia Pool Tech. I purchased my heater in May 2018 and it is gushing water out the side in 3 months. Jandy will not stand by their warranty citing chemical damage. Really? You don't run chemicals through your pool? My last heater lasted 30 years. The Pool Tech representative said "They don't make them the same as they used to 30 years ago" You think so? Very rude to deal with and wasted $2031 plus installation of $300. Don't buy any of their products!

Our pool for over 30 years had a DE Filter and we had to have a separation tank when we backwash because of the location of the pool in the neighborhood. So over the years, I’ve been nursing this old Anthony pool equipment and they’re harder and harder to find. My pool service provider recommended Jandy Pro cartridge filter which would eliminate all the excess work. So I went over to the store over the winter, took a look at it, and it was a no-brainer. Then we had the filter installed some time in March and opened the pool in May. We have 11 grandchildren that live within walking distance, and this a very child-active area, and we have people in the pool all the time. We also had a 4th of July party where we invited a lot of people. A lot of people came and that was the only time this summer that the water got slightly grey. My wife and I decided to leave the pump all night and by the next day, it was crystal clear.
We were told that when the pressure gauge got to 20, it was time to clean the filter. We just closed the pool early September and I never had to open it up. So the guys from our service provider have taken the filter and the cartridges, and they're gonna clean them for me, and we put them back in there. And we saved a lot of money on any excess chlorine. We usually have to put back Shock in there but now we have an extra box of Shock left over because we haven’t used it. We've been living in this house for 34 years and this is, by far, the absolute best experience, and we didn't have to worry about it too much. I worked through my dealer, and every time I was in the store to do something, I would grab one of the guys and thank them for introducing Jandy Pro to me. I would even go on TV for Jandy Pro.

I own a pool cleaning business. I purchased Jandy Pro Series equipment for my customers and I also purchased it for my house because I was upgrading to new energy efficient equipment and getting rid of the single speed outdated stuff. Their customer service and their reps are outstanding. I bought a variable speed, a heater, blower, filter, booster pump, pool cleaner and another pump for my water heater. I did the installation myself and it was wonderful. The products are very user-friendly that anybody can do it. They're top of the line and very reasonable compared to some of the other ones that are out there. They have made my pool maintenance a lot easier because everything is compatible with my system and I have the ability to control it from my phone.

I called Thomas Pools, a local store and they referred the Jandy brand heater. The guy installed it but he couldn’t make it work. He said something was stuck in the pipe in the swimming pool. When the pool water gets to the spa, the water will be drained quickly. Every ten minutes, the spa water goes 1 inch lower and eventually, it drains out. I called Jandy to check the equipment and their customer service team answered my questions. It was a good interaction. They made an appointment and sent the same local maintenance service guy that comes to my house. He checked it and there was no problem. Then, he called me and said that there was something wrong with the pipe. Something was stuck and blocks the water to return to the spa.
Right now, I don’t use the heater since it can’t heat up the pool. When the water flow is low, the crumpling sound won't stop. You will hear it right away, so you would think something is wrong and turn it off. Something in the design needs to be modified. If you want the best brand, you should get a different one. However, Jandy could be a second option.
Dear Randy,
We're so sorry you've had a frustrating experience that has prevented you from using your pool heater. Upon further investigation, our local service representatives have determined that there is an issue with your plumbing and not the heater. The rattling sound you mentioned is due to low water flow through the heater. You will need to contact a local plumber to address the plumbing issue.
We wish you a speedy resolution!

The heat pump that I had was broken and the technician that I called for a different service recommended Jandy Pro. I purchased the product that he recommended and he installed it. I got a brand-new pool from Jandy and the pool builder. The products appear to be fine and when it's working, its maintenance is very low. However, in the beginning, it was a complete nightmare with the whole salt cell system. The three control boards and the master system of the AquaPure Sanitation System kept going down. As soon as I put the system, we had nothing but issues. It wasn’t working and we replaced the boards. Then, the LED went out two months ago. I had to replace the salt cell a couple of months before that and it was out of warranty. They called a local repair place and put me in contact with them. Prior to that, I was going with the pool builder because it was under warranty with their rep. I've had the system for five years and I would recommend Jandy as long as they have the salt cell figured out. However, people should get an extended warranty.

I purchased a Jandy pool heater through an authorized dealer in town and they came and installed it. Our other heater was almost 20 years old and it had gone out. I was happy to go with the Jandy product and also the fact that the units are smaller now than they were 20 years ago, which is nice. The cost of the equipment is good for its good quality too. My husband does the regular maintenance but we have a pool professional come in if there's an outage. All in all, I'd recommend Jandy. They're a good name in the industry so I was happy when they offered the product to me.

We had a new pool liner as well as a Jandy Truclear Salt System installed by Kinney Pools, Brick New Jersey in April 2018. Aside from a few wrinkles in the liner we were initially happy with Kinney's product and service people. Then the troubles with the Jandy unit became apparent and Walt and Nick from Kinney Pools came out to verify that the S.S. light is staying on and nothing shows on the display.
The Jandy rep came out and left it in the same non functioning condition. We called him directly and he said he had NOT ordered us a new unit. Amber from Kinney Pools admitted that Jandy has problems with their displays in the Truclear units. Today, Amber is on vacation and the owner of Kinney Pools is not in the office. We've asked Kinney for a $1,610 refund for the Jandy unit and new piping valves for the unit. We're tired of running around in circles with two companies that don't seem to care about their customers. The makers of the Jandy unit know they are selling a defective product.
Dear Linda,
We're very sorry to hear about your recent experience with your Jandy Truclear Salt System, and we would like to help resolve this issue for you. One of our representatives will contact you to discuss your situation and learn how we may be able to help.

We bought a low-flow medium head pump from Jandy. We may have bought a pump that was a little bit too big. But we're expanding the pool in the future and that was what we had in mind. We had a little problem because I've got a paper filter in the pool and it raised the pressure on the filter 'cause the pressure of the pump was high, and we had to put a restrictor on the outgoing pipe of the pump to try to get the pressure down. So, it did cause a problem, but it's not the pump's fault. The pump itself was fine. It's a good pump and it's reasonable for its price. Hopefully, it will provide the good service it's supposed to.
Hi Jorge, Thanks for rating the Jandy FloPro Medium Head Pump. It's important to select the proper pump size for your pool but we're glad you were able to adjust the flow accordingly. I’ve purchased several equipment from Jandy over the last year and a half. Jandy is good. We had our pool already done and I had an AquaLink, and then we went with all Jandy equipment except for the pool lights. My lights are Hayward and the Jandy equipment doesn’t communicate with them that well. I looked into getting technical support and I didn’t get a lot of support in that regard so I wasn’t very happy. My unit before wasn’t working correctly so I had to purchase a new Jandy Pro saninatition system. My pool professional had recommended the original one and since I had already all the components, I thought it was just the chlorinator that I needed so I purchased that to keep everything consistent. I was a bit disappointed that once you’re stuck with certain error codes it’s not easy to troubleshoot. Even though you have the manual it’s not clear and simple on which component is defective. But the product is of good quality and is working fine. It has improved the maintenance of our pool dramatically. I did a lot of research and I went with Jandy Pro Series' best model and unit for longevity and usage. However, knowing what I know now, I would have never purchased it. The shipping was fine and everything was delivered but there was a problem on the heater after it was installed. Initially it ran fine but then it crapped. It took me two and a half months to finally get Jandy to send someone out to fix the damn thing because there was no Jandy dealer network whatsoever in Wisconsin, and I did not know that.
The issue I had was not the quality with the product or how it’s built. Once they were there it was fine and it got done in like an hour but I just can’t afford to spend two and a half months arguing with people to get somebody out here to service my pool heater. I will not do business with Jandy again unless they had a dealer network in Wisconsin, which my understanding is they have no intent of doing so. So I’m gonna keep this heater until it’s out of warranty and if it dies, I’m gonna replace it with a Raypak. The lesson I learned is never buy from anybody unless you can confirm they have local service.

We're very sorry to hear about your poor experience. Ultimately, we always recommend customers purchase pool equipment directly from a pool builder, servicer, or retail storefront rather than online.

I had to do everything myself and find the people that I needed to come and do it. I had some technical questions back then with them but they were able to answer my questions. At the beginning the pump was turning off but it had nothing to do with the equipment, it was more electrical work. The original equipment for our pool was a Jandy and it was twenty-some years old. We got a heater from them and while the previous unit had worked fine, the new one did not. It only worked for about a day or two and then the igniter was broken. So, we had to have a new one put into the heater. I took care of that situation with the installer, SchagrinGAS out of Delaware. They sent a serviceman right away but he didn't have the parts needed.
So, we went online to find the igniter and spent an enormous amount of money to have it overnighted as we were having a houseful of guests. I would have been stuck without a pool heater and the pool would have been cold. The technician installed our parts and then credited us back for the shipping and the part itself. So, we didn’t have any out-of-pocket expense. However, the new heater is a little loud compared to our old one. It sounds like a jet engine when it's on. Still, it's efficient and the heat is fine. It also doesn't seem to use a lot of propane.

After 14 years, my original pool heater died and I looked at both Jandy and Rayburn. I liked the smaller size and the footprint of the Jandy. It was also recommended by equipment professionals. So, I had one installed. Since getting the new heater, I've noticed that it's not quite as powerful as the previous one which surprised me. They're both the same weight but then the new one is three and a half degrees an hour whereas the older one was closer to four.
Another thing that has been amazing to me is how expensive installations are in California. It's ridiculous. In Palm Springs, I could get a pool heater installed for $400. If I try to do it where I am, it's $1200 plus. If I fly my pool guy from Palm Springs to install my heater, I'll still save money. A $2,500 P-pump shouldn't carry a $1,500 installation cost. Still, the installer from Jandy was personable and he did a great job. Other than the new heater not being quite as efficient in heating, I've had no issues at all with the Jandy. I maintain it myself and I've been very happy with my purchase.

My Jandy salt system for my pool was purchased through Aqua Vision in Marietta, Georgia and was installed in June of last year. It was only in use for four months. Then when I restarted my pool this year, I couldn’t get it to chlorinate over 50%, and it kept saying, “Low temp, low salt.” It had the three-year warranty on it. I kept calling Jandy and they were willing to work with me. Even when I got to the wrong department, they let me know who I needed to contact about this particular thing.
Jandy gave me a list of people that was approved for them to send out and work on the system. I was surprised that the people that I bought it from and installed it wasn’t on that list. So, I ended up dealing with another company, but everybody was really nice about it. The pool tech replaced the motherboard, which didn’t work and then the new salt cell that was sent to me did not work, as well. So they went through the process starting from the most likely thing to happen and then we went to the second most likely thing before we went to the pool warranty replacement on the power pack that took care of the problem.
Dear Benjamin, We sincerely appreciate patient and loyal customers like yourself. We are so glad to know your TruClear salt system is now working properly, sustaining water balance in your pool. It fires up faster and heats everything faster as a result. I'm very satisfied with it. I'd definitely recommend Jandy.

Our pool maintenance guy for years explained to me that he had a quality product from Jandy Pro at a valuable price versus some of the other brand names out there that we all know. I trust him so I agreed with him and went with it. He installed the equipment with ease and it’s been working fine. I find the motor to be quite silent and smooth-running. All the plastic casing and plastic parts seemed to have been innovations over the last year over the old metal and steel. There are no issues so far, which is good. I have a quality product at a fair price, which is always appreciated in this day and age.

I had to replace my equipment and through recommendations, I bought the Jandy equipment. I recently purchased a variable speed pump, filters and a couple other different pool products. I initially had those installed and then, I made some modifications with some re-plumbing and re-piping. I’m very happy with all the choices of the pool pump, the optional controller, and the filter and the recommended WiFi controller option has been extremely helpful. Also, I'm impressed as a first time pool owner. It’s easy for a first time owner because of all the online support available and it was helpful for me to register my equipment with Jandy.

The FloPro Speed Pump from Jandy has been running flawlessly. The one kind of beef that I had after I bought it was I couldn’t put my booster pump up to it. I would’ve had to get a more expensive model to be able to tap in the power to the pump and have the primary pump tied to the booster pump. I gotta be careful because if the Jandy pump turns off when the booster pump’s on, then the booster pump can fry out. There’s no auxiliary output power on this model. So, my recommendation to Jandy would be to provide that auxiliary output power to a booster pump from the main pump, in lower-level models. That would be cool.
The only other complaint that I have is when I empty and clean the collection basket in the pump every now and then. Because of the plastic grooves that are on the inside of the basket, the stuff gets stuck in there and I can’t just use my hand to pull the stuff out. I gotta scrub it with a brush to get it out of there. And it was way easier around my old basket that I had in there to clean it than it was this one. But the quality of the pump is great and I love it.
I’m gonna try to save my electric bills from this year. And as far as the pool and how I was keeping it, the fact that I can leave it running on this lower speed at night and then have it run a little faster during the day, the pool’s been fantastic all summer long. The fact that we also had the rebate from our electric company made the cost very similar to a cost of a more standard pump. So, the cost wasn’t all that bad, as well.

The pool builder recommended Jandy Pro to me. The FloPro pump is fine, although it uses more electricity than I thought it would. The spa heater is good too, but the thermostat seems to always go higher than I set it at. If I set it at 104, it may go up to 107. But it does heat up within about 30 minutes. So, once the heat starts, I don’t have any problem with it. It just doesn’t maintain the heat at the thermostat where I set it at. But aside from that, the quality of the products seems fine.

I've been using Jandy Pro's product now for about two months. It came with the pool when I purchased it. It has been great but it’s unfortunate that some people that install these products do not tell you anything about them. A professional pool company installed a variable speed pump. It has the salt system and the wireless modem. If somebody had gone over and gave me proper end services, it would have made the process a lot easier and a lot nicer.
If you don't get the modem system correct on how to schedule things, you'll never get your service out of your pump, because you can set the variable speed motor at whatever speed you want. And if you don't get that adjustment correct, it throws off your salt generator and cleanliness of your pool and the filtration. It's so intricately involved with each other, that you have to get a nice mix of all the systems together to make it work right. It took me probably three weeks to get it all figured out and how it all worked together. I would not recommend Jandy unless they had a service provider that was gonna handle all the explanation on how things function and how they interface with each other. But that was my only disappointment and the equipment itself works great.
It's doing a great job, but I would not buy the same equipment. I would use the salt generator but I would not go with their variable speed pump. I had a pool for 20 years and it was the old system, just a regular straight C pump and commercial timer. I never had a bit of trouble with it. If anything ever happens with this equipment, I will be the first one to go back to the old-fashioned commercial manual timer system with a straight motor and let it go with that. It's very easy to work with and makes life a lot easier. Also, the wireless timer they mounted on the wall is like $85 and I can buy a commercial manual timer for the same price. And I can do what I want with it without having to rely on my iPhone or my iPad.

First, my pool is four years old and technically out of warranty. But I need to go back in history as to the original installation. My pool was designed for a seven station, digitally controlled vacuum "Caretaker" system. Within mere days, the electronics failed. The Jandy representative made three replacements, all failing in a matter of days. It seems outside temperature was frying the electronics. I was told that was not an issue, yet also know that it is a problem with the system and there have been very similar complaints in several areas, for example in Phoenix as reported by a pool service provider professional technician.
Finally, the Jandy representative related that they could combine some stations, downgrading to a five station system, and install a completely mechanical driven controller. He assured me that the downgrade would work just as well in terms of vacuuming the bottom of the pool. Not only has that system not cleaned (pitifully), but itself has been replaced with a "repair" kit numerous times. I accept the wear and tear issues of any machinery, but DO NOT accept a flawed system that simply does not work as intended. Instead of denying the problem, Jandy should fix the problem and that begins with electronics that are properly temperature compensated, or alternatively provide the means to protect the system. On a final note, the local Jandy representative has been non responsive, even arrogant. The issue has been and remains ongoing with no attempt to resolve by Jandy.
Dear David, We're sorry to hear about your frustrating experience. We are investigating your history with Caretaker customer support and will see what we can do to get this resolved. Thank you, Jandy Pro Series

My purchase experience from Jandy was fine. They were able to get 100% of what I needed because I ended up having to swap more equipment out later after the pump was installed. The local store, Palm Tree Pools in Oviedo, Florida, has Jandy reps. They installed my pump and filter. I was going from Hayward to Jandy, so I had some compatibility issues that they've attempted to address. There were some ancillary stuff that I had to do. I have an automated pool system using a Hayward OmniLogic, which allows me to control my stuff. So, one of their variable speed pumps wasn't gonna function with my system, so I had to buy just a single-speed pump to be able to control it.
And then, I had to have a Hayward tech come out, and do a little tweaking on the OmniLogic system because the pump was shutting off. So, there was some control issues that needed to be taken care of. Also, my filter was a Hayward DE and we ended up having to replace that shortly after because for the first week, the pump wouldn't stay running. We ended up pulling the filter off and putting a Jandy cartridge-type filter. I had to get a new vacuum, new pump, and new filter for my system, in order for everything to really work fine and to this point, everything's been working fine. I like the quality of Jandy's products. I had a good experience and I would recommend Jandy.

So, we wanted to have a saltwater pool, so there was no question about getting a saltwater chlorinator. Before, we had a Zodiac Clearwater. It was great, but they don’t make those anymore. So then, Jandy Pro was the next one that was the most similar. Our saltwater chlorinator is running fine. The persons who installed it were quite knowledgeable about the product and got it all set up quickly. It was a retrofit, so they put it into the existing pool that we were working where we have a chlorine pool to a saltwater system. The chlorine levels are as expected the way they should be that requires little or no maintenance or attention. I maintain it, and the only maintenance so far that we’ve required is just changing the chlorine level that is boosting the percentage. The product's quality is right on the money.

We resurfaced our pool and we added the salt water system which was with Jandy. The only thing that was really confusing to me was how much salt to add because if you looked at the tables, I was about ready to put 500 pounds of salt in the pool and people were saying to not do that because then I'm gonna add too much and that was the tricky part. I added the first five bags and then I added another four bags, two bags at a time on two other day until it gets me to where I needed to be as far as the salt in the system.
Nonetheless, my husband was able to set it perfectly. However, Jandy is not testing our water for free for anything. They’re trying to sell me something so everytime I came, it was like a different reading and that’s just maybe salt but for something else they would say that we need to add this and that and I would say, “Well, I just put that in," so wasn’t really too happy about it. My husband was thinking that maybe they are like not adding enough rocks and all of it or adding too much rock to make us buy more products.
There is one other thing too. When I went to go register the product, it was to find the serial number on it. I always try to take a picture of the boxes with the serial number on the box and that wasn’t it. That was for the box on the wall. It wasn’t for the part of the actual product itself and it doesn’t tell you anywhere where to find it on the equipment when you’re going through the directions. Nonetheless, the pool professional gave a choice of Jandy or Hayward and there were two reasons why we chose Jandy. One was the price and although Hayward's menu is a little bit easier to go through Jandy is easier to clean.

I have a four year old pool so my issues go beyond “warranty”. My pool has three very expensive pro series lights, one of which has failed and two are failing. These high dollar lights are designed for thousands of hours and have worked only a few hundred. My initial caretaker system was a seven station digital unit that could not withstand the outside temperature. Jandy downgraded to a mechanical five station system that is less than pathetic. Worse the Jandy rep has been arrogant and nonresponsive. Granted warranty is warranty but I feel I’ve spent high dollars on equipment proving to me little more than junk.

And Jandy gave me some references. The customer service reps were really nice. They got me the information and they helped me get a tech out here as soon as they could. The tech came out and he was good. The pool pump is under warranty, and he got it working properly. I also did some extra stuff this year like adding Jandy automatic valves, and it's working really good now.
Jandy's products have good quality overall. I'm a little concerned that it was only a three-year warranty. And in one year, my motor burnt out. I got two years left on the warranty then I'm off. But my overall experience with Jandy has been good. I would tell others to check the warranty before they purchase and try to get five years, if not longer.

I went to my pool supplier that I usually buy my pool supplies from. They told me that I may need a new pump soon and recommended a Jandy pump. It was on sale at the time and I decided to but it. My old pump was almost 10 years old and the timing of getting the new one couldn't have worked any better because the old one ended up going on me on a Sunday afternoon. And it just so happened that I purchased a pump a day before. So, it worked out well. I installed the new pump and had no problems. Everything has been fine since then.
But I later learned about the variable speed pump and I wish I wasn't told about it because I would have preferred to install that than the normal Jandy pump that I got. I should have been told that there was a different pump out there available for me other than this one that I purchased. I wasn't given any other options at the time I purchased it. Other than that, I'm familiar with the Jandy product. I know they've been around for a long time, so their product is easily a good quality product. I also feel comfortable with what I have and I'd recommend them.

The purchase that I made was a replacement for a failed pump that was previously installed. Based on the previous failure of the pump, quality is not that high given that this was a replacement for that. But it was a one-for-one swap out so I couldn't complain with the ease of installation of the new one. With the pump previously being down, Jandy needed some time to get the pool back to normal. But since then, it's working again as expected and doing what it should be.
I was the second owner of the original pump that failed, so it was still within a warranty period but Jandy would not warranty it because I was not the original owner. So I was highly disappointed in that. Upon purchasing the new replacement pump and getting that installed, I gave Jandy a feedback directly that my experience was pretty poor and I was gravely displeased with having to buy my own pump and it being still within the warranty period. Once they received that feedback, they were happy to replace it for me. But because I had already purchased my own pump, there was nothing they could do at that point.
However, they went ahead and offered me a robotic pool cleaner which I accepted. It was a nice little bonus and perk but still, the hassle with the warranty and them front-ending it was a big issue for me. Overall Jandy has decent products and good equipment. They wanna do right but you need to go through the right channel to get what you need if you're not satisfied.

The tech talked to Jandy and Jandy had an upgraded modern model with the same BTU. They found it in the warehouse that was local, and the dealer that I got it from called me back and said, "We got it in the warehouse if you want it. It's not the same one that you had but it's the same type for the capability." I said it was fine and they delivered the thing on the second week of May.
However, it doesn't work at all. I've had several people that I've talked to that have sent all kinds of parts trying to figure out why, to the point that now, I'm waiting for a whole new heater. We’re going in the middle of July and I'm still waiting to hear from the company that’s supposed to be installing because they told me that it was overnight, and no one has called me to tell me if the heater's here or not. Sometimes I feel like I gotta call them every day to follow up on something that I have no control over. Also, I had to realign my gas lines because the gas lines that were hooked up to the previous Jandy product that I purchased were discontinued. I had to sit there and have a guy come out and refit the gas line to be able to go into the one that I got there now. That was something else that was costing me.
Customer service has been good in terms of communication and trying to fix the problem. I have other Jandy products that I haven't had issues with, and I haven't had any issues dealing with them when it comes to purchasing things. This is the first time I've had an issue of this magnitude with a Jandy product. The whole point of us getting the heater at that time of the year was we wanted to have it for Memorial Day. Around here, the temperature is not as hot so the water is not something that you wanna get in. I wanted a heater so I could at least heat up the pool to a comfortable temperature until the summer. That was the whole purpose why we bought it at that time, and now we're in the middle of July.

But there have been a few oddities which I don’t understand. I check it and it’s not programmed, or my pump will change speeds at 5:00 o’clock in the evening. And my waterfall’s running even though according to the program, it’s not. Near as I can tell, I don’t have that program, but it must be someplace. In any case, I use my brother to do the customer service for the Jandy products because he got the contact and he works directly with Jandy and their rep Mike.

We had a very old heater, so I looked online for some reviews and did some pricing of my own and ringing around. We decided to go with Jandy and we were very, very happy with our installers. They did a very good job with explaining the benefits of the product. Its quality has been good so far. But if the timer was set to go off while you've been using the jacuzzi heater, the Jandy turns off. But when the timer comes on the next day, it starts again. So there's no way to turn it off once, and you can only get power to it if the pool is on. So it's really easy to forget to turn the pool back on to turn it off. So you end up heating your whole pool when you didn't know you were going to. It has happened to us numerous times. So things can be quite expensive and you end up overheating for longer than you wanted.

I called Jandy and they informed me how to go through the process of getting it replaced. The representative has been super kind and very professional. I called some local Jandy distributors and they handled the rest. The Jandy products are great and good quality. We’ve been very happy with Jandy so far and others should try them out.

I had the brand new pool installed and the pool company put the Jandy Pro Series TruClear Saltwater Chlorinator in. They did a nice pool and they put nice equipment in, and everything was nice and perfect. The Jandy Pro product was actually very good and it has been performing very well since it was installed. It is very small, like the salt generator, but it does a very good job based on the experience that I had with it. So, I was surprised because I had the Pentair, which was a big equipment, at the other house but it was not doing as a good job as the small one from Jandy Pro.
The Jandy Pro product is not even a year old and it has broken down only once. I called the pool company and told them that the Jandy Pro product wasn't working, so they went in and checked it out, and they found that it was definitely not working. Recently, the Jandy Pro guys came out and replaced their product under warranty within 10 days, so that was perfect. The process went very smoothly and nicely, and I liked the service of Jandy Pro.

We just built a complete new pool in our backyard and we decided to get a pool heater and I did some research to see exactly what we needed and how big. I read the reviews of different manufacturers and pool heaters and their cost. We decided that Jandy would be the best fit and I’ve ordered it online. My pool builder installed it and everything was really great. I had one issue. There was a part that didn’t work correctly so when the heater was unheating it would freeze on the outside and stop working, even though it was not a freezing temperature.
I called the technical support. It took quite a long time, like almost a month until it was fixed. It seems the technical team first didn’t really know what was wrong and when it was identified what could be wrong it took a little bit some time like two weeks or so to get the parts. And they came back and installed it. The repair was a little bit of a pain but it worked out at the end. We have a 17,000 gallon pool so it’s quite high and we heat the complete pool up to 97 degrees. It’s a big hot tub but it does not consume a lot of energy so it’s awesome and that's why we like it. The device, the quality of it and the efficiency is great. I definitely recommend Jandy.

So, I talked to the local pool place that I'm dealing with now and they suggested I purchase a Nature2 chlorinator and sanitation system from Jandy Pro Series. I installed it myself on my Master Spa and it was difficult. I tried to seal off all the different ports so that water wasn't trying to back feed in and that was not happening. The water was trying to come up as I was drilling in and by that point, it was too late to call Jandy Pro about it. So I continued in and just dealt with the water until everything was sealed up. After I installed the equipment, everything has been going great. It's making it very easy to maintain my pool and turned it into a once a week type thing instead of daily. I would tell my friends to come on over and look at everything. I would also tell them that it's worth it.

When we bought the house last June, the pool and the spa were unheated so the pool company that was resurfacing our pool recommended the Jandy. They said it'd be more expensive to use a gas heater. But the Jandy JE heat pump that we purchased hasn't been good. It was not heating up the pool like we wanted it to. One morning when we got up, it had 12 inches of ice surrounding the outside of it. The bottom 12 inches of the unit was covered with ice. I talked to Kyle, their service person about it. He explained to me how heat pumps work. We've never owned a pool before so we're new at this. Our expectation was if it gets to be 50 degrees at night and we want to wake up to an 80-degree pool, we just turn on the pool heater. However, heat pumps don't work under 70 degrees because they're designed to work above 70 degrees temperature.
It was a very informative call for me. How then would we heat our pool if we wanted to heat it in 50-degree weather outside? Apparently, we had to have a gas or Propane heater to fire it up and it's not affected by the outside temperature, it will heat our pool. However, it will be much more expensive to heat a pool that way. And that was one of our reasons why we didn't select a gas heater, why we went with the heat pump. Our expectation was it would do the same thing. It will just take longer to heat the pool than a gas heater would. As it turns out, it's not gonna work under that temperature.
The other night here, it was down in the 40's and the rep explained, "I can come out and look at your heat pump but I know it's working as designed. It doesn't work at that temperature." He was very knowledgeable about it and I'm willing to accept his explanation of how a heat pump works. Now that we understand how it's supposed to work, we're just gonna have to deal with it. If it gets cold for a few months down here, we're not gonna get the pool heated with the heat pump. I guess you can heat your pool with a duo system which means on a real cold night you can have a Propane tank attached to a different heater and it will work during those cold temperatures. And then when the temperatures warm up you can switch over to your heat pump.
Kyle said to make sure that it's working as designed, I need to turn it on and within an hour and it will heat the spa very quickly to the 100-degree temperature that we wanted it to be. At first, I thought there was a problem with the pump because it's not heating the pool. But he told me that the pool has got a lot more water in it than the spa, but it should heat and it's warm every day. It's been around 80 degrees now so it should work just fine at this temperature to heat the spa to a 100 degrees. I wish I'd known about it because I would have probably selected a gas heater. My pool service should have just said, you can make it a gas heater so it heats fast.
You need people to have the right expectations. As we go through this spring and summer down here, I think we'll get more experienced with the heat pump. If it's 75 degrees out, I want the pool to be 85 degrees. And if it works just fine, then I'll know we just have to work around the issue that in low outside temperatures it's not gonna heat the pool up. And that's the important expectation that people should have about how a heat pump works versus how a gas heater works. Then, people can make a more informed decision and their expectations will be in line with what they're getting.

We work heavily with Jandy. That's the brand that I always recommend to my clientele, whenever it comes to replacing a heater. A lot of the times, they already have Jandy equipment, so it's pretty easy to replace Jandy with Jandy. If there is a Rypak or a Hayward, I always suggest Jandy because we work heavily with them and they give us an extra year warranty for our clients. That's a really big incentive to get them if they don't already have Jandy to get on board with the Jandy products.
Because we are a gas company, we deal mostly with the heater, solely, and replacement parts, so anything from sensors to valves to heat trays. We have even had to do some specialized venting for some of the condos in our area because they keep their pool equipment in the downstairs garage. So, we have had to convert the regular fan into something that could be vented. So far, I've only had one instance, where within six months of installing the heater, it gave a fault for a sensor. However, the customer ended up calling them directly and they came out and fixed the problem. So, they have been performing well. If I have to call technical support for something it is when working on an older unit. But everybody has been very knowledgeable and helpful.
I appreciate the timely responses, and then the help while my technician is in the field. When he has a question, they are usually available and are able to walk us through things. I have been doing it for about a year now, and I have not really had any complaints. The quality is also great.

I had the fiber optic wheel that had different colors, but because it was a mechanical as opposed to electrical in the way it changes colors, it eventually dry rotted. I decided I was not going to replace it over with something that was there originally. I then did some research. I told the pool supply close by what I was trying to do and they recommended Jandy Pro, and so I went with them. They directed me to Jandy's website and then I filled in their paperwork to make sure the item was under warranty.
They installed it, but after I saw them doing it, I could have done it myself but I did not because I did not know what was involved. I thought I had to go into the pool but one could get it without having to go into the pool. It was a simple replacement -- in addition to removing all the stuff that we have had before, it was just a simple process of pulling a new light into there. I did not have to reinvent the wheel.
Afterward, however, there was a problem. It had to do with the electrical, instead of the light. The way they had wired this was confusing to us as they had a GFI circuit attached to the light switch. So every time we switch on the light, it would trip the GFI. I don't have to breaker it, so I don't know if the GFI breaker was faulty. But, we then took it out and now it looks fine. It's really nice, the changing of the colors. I still am trying to perfect to get them to change the colors because it's all done manually. And if you switch the switch off and on, within a specific time frame, the light changes.
This one is not exactly cheap, but, hopefully, it lasts much longer than the one that I had previously because the previous one with the color wheel lasted five years, and it was pretty expensive. But, when I think about the cost of the original light, this one is comparable with the light. I just expected that since it has no moving parts and that it was all done electronically, it would be cheaper. Nevertheless, the product seems to be working as advertised, and I am satisfied so far. Fiber optic wheels and light lighting systems are a thing of the past, that technology is old. Now it's LED, so that would be the way to go. I recommend it.

I didn't shop around much but the Jandy heat pump's cost was not exorbitant and I was prepared to pay it. Also, I would certainly recommend it to someone else.
The Jandy heat pump is a little slow, taking a while to get up to speed in terms of producing hot water. But once it gets there, it's fine. Then there seems to be an awful lot of water around the base of the heat pump and it takes a while to dry up. I brought it to the attention of the installer who explained it as condensation. I said that it doesn't seem very satisfactory and somebody should have figured out a way to handle that technically. What if it had been a heat pump that was in an indoor area then the water would just be allowed to form and puddle around the heat pump? There's no answer to that. So, luckily it's outdoors. But initially, I thought it was a leak. Overall, I'm mostly satisfied with the Jandy heat pump and everything seems to be working.

We install and the installation is no problem. It's pretty basic. We've been doing it for about a year and a half and we've probably installed seven of them. I didn't have any problem with their local people. They're nothing but helpful and they warrantied a heat exchanger when we had an issue, but I had to agree to buy another heater which was no problem. I had an old propane heater that was on its last legs. I also had intended to purchase a heat pump all along because the pool temperature sometimes get up to 92 in the summer where I live in West Palm beach and it's not refreshing anymore. I heard from my neighbor about the heat pumps and then doing some research online, I discovered that there's a model that both heats in the winter and cools in the summer. I talked to my pool guy and he strongly recommended the Jandy Pro Series and said that all the rest were garbage. They did a simple choice so I purchased it and he installed. I bought the Jandy heat pump from a place called In Your Pools, which is up north in Florida. They packed it up, shipped it and it was here in about a week or so. It was installed over the weekend, about two months ago and it has been performing okay.
The heat pump is working great. It takes some getting used to because it takes a little longer to get the heat rise obviously since it is not a heater. But once it's up, especially right now around this time of year, it's on for only maybe an hour in the morning, when it first starts to get it up to last two degrees. What I got is a special model that's floored and it's set up to not only do the heating and the cooling, but it's also apparently ruggedized for weather conditions in Florida and the humidity. As far as I can see, the price I got it for online was actually reasonable. Heat pumps are maybe a third or more than a regular heater, but that doesn't count for the cost of the propane that the old one sucked. Even my neighbor even switched from propane to natural gas on her heater, and even that didn't save her much money with her grandkids coming all the time. So she finally switched over to a heat pump about a year or two ago.
All the rest of my equipment is Jandy. In fact I had to get a new pump about year ago and the same guys who got the pump installed it, or they bought it and installed it, and that one's been working fine. Jandy is a good established company, and they have good quality equipment and good price. I just bought a house and my previous pump, which passed inspection, failed about two weeks after I moved in so I needed a new pump. My pool guy recommended a Jandy Pro and I purchased it through him. He said that's the pool pump that he uses and it’s been working for him for six years. It has only been running for a few weeks and it has been fine. It’s on a timer and it goes on and it turns off. I've checked on it twice and the water is slowing as it should be.

I’m a little familiar with the pool industry. Jandy and Hayward are the top two. So, it was kind of easy for me to determine on which type of light to buy. It was either Hayward or Jandy. But I liked the Jandy because I already had an existing small light. I’ve only turned the light on a couple of times. But it works every time I put it on. So far, so good.

I bought the home two years ago and the pool was put in 11 years prior. So, the heater was 13 years old and it went out. I decided to get a new heater from Jandy Pro Series and my pool people installed it. I’ve only had it for a few months and I’m very happy so far. Also, it’s saving me a considerable amount of money per month by being able to be specific with the degrees that I put it on. The previous model that I had didn’t have a specific digital readout. It just had the blue and red dial. I could’ve been putting it at 120 degrees instead of 90 degrees.

Something went up but the pool people called Jandy and they sent the part out. Then the pool people installed it. The system has worked well and I’ve been impressed.

I purchased the JXi 400 pool heaters from Jandy. All I did was to write a check, and then the heaters were shipped to the pool company who installed everything. We barely used the pool and the heaters were fine, and the only reason we needed these was that our two pool heaters got stolen. We just moved into that house a few months ago and someone stole the brand new one about two days before we moved. Then about a month later, they stole the other new one, and a week and a half after that, they came back and tried to get the next new one. So, we fixed that. I've had a Jandy at the house we moved at and at our previous house, so I've had Jandy for almost 20 years, and they're fantastic. It seems like all heaters are just expensive, but if I don't have to ever have a problem with it, then it's a fine price and I was willing to pay it because it's Jandy.

We redid our pool about three years ago, and Jandy put in brand-new lights that never worked properly. We tried all kinds of things to get them fixed. I called a couple of times and spoke to customer service, and they walked me through how to reset those original lights because sometimes they get out of sync. And finally, the guy who installed them said that we would have to replace all six of them. Then they referred me to a repair person in town that came out and looked at them. And he’s the one that said that those original lights were problematic. But as far as my interactions with Jandy are concerned, they’ve been very good other than I thought they should’ve taken care of the original lights. But, as far as the product is coming in, now it’s working right. I also got some of our pool equipment from Jandy and the items I had installed were done by a professional as well.

We were redoing our house and we decided that we would redo our pool as well. We wanted to change from an electric heater for the pool to a gas heater. And in the process, we decided to go with Jandy. I did some research and Jandy seemed like the right product so I looked online for someone that sold them around our area. The company I bought it from took care of signing up for the warranty and they installed it too. I didn’t have anybody else do it. Not even my pool guy. I’m not going to save money doing that but I was told not to because then the warranty gets voided.
It has been installed for two months now and it is perfect. We are very happy with the heating. It heats my pool up in less than 12 hours. My electric one took days to heat up. On the first day that I used it, I turned it on and set it at like 89. It went up almost eight degrees in four hours with a 65-degree temperature outside and it’s a good size pool. As for the pump's quality, so far, so good. If it’s still working five years from now, I could tell it is excellent. Overall, I would recommend Jandy and advise other people to get the pool heater if they have gas because the kids can swim.

I've been with Jandy for four years and the motherboard inside the box went out. I'm getting to the point where since it's been four years, things were going to start going wrong and my warranty was up. The first thing to go was the motherboard and I got lucky because that was a week away from the warranty. Some third party contractor came out and replaced the motherboard for free then they charged Jandy later on for their services. It's fixed now.
But my issue is the cell system is getting really screwed up error codes. I went out yesterday and cleaned my pool including the cell. I put it in the acid and cleaned all the calcium off. I was doing what I’m supposed to do but I was I'm still getting the error code. In order for me to fix that, I had to look online and troubleshoot it. I pinged the cell out. It's a pain in the butt because I've called Jandy before and it’s really hard to reach them. I'm getting to point now that I'm calling to have somebody out here and it's going to cost me probably a couple of hundred bucks. I'd probably be told that I just have to switch this, I have to pull this part this off or I have to replace that.
The thing about Jandy is I have to Google search a lot of solutions for these problems because other people have the same problems, but that's really no remedy to fix something. When I call the 800 number, they say going to say we need to have a service. But what Jandy really needs to do is reach out and train for free pool service people how to use their machines because it's very hard to find a random pool cleaner. They are very intimidated by Jandy stuff. Those actions would help everybody. It would help Jandy sell more products and it would help these guys clean pools better. They'd get more customers.
Jandy is a good product it's just the support’s not there. Everyone is polite and everybody is focused on apologizing and telling me that they're empathetic of the problem. They can apologize and be empathetic all day but if they don't solve my problem or help me solve my problem, I don't care. They can call me a jerk to my face, but as long as they solve my problem, I'm happy. It seems like there is more concern with treating the customer with respect and talking nicely to them and I get it. It's the customer service strategy. But if they're not helping, then it's just lip service.
We didn't know anything about pools and pumps and products because we had our pool built in the backyard. And although I'd still make others go to Jandy as they're in the industry standard, they should still do a lot of research cause we didn't. There might be something, they might be the perfect one or they might not be for them.
