No telling if we’ll actually see any kind of compensation. The company did not honor quotes or contracts, used bullying tactics to force us into quick decisions, mislead us about the vehicles that would be used for our move and passed the buck when we had issue with their practices. I’ve filed complaints with the BBB, the FMCSA and the NCCDB for Interstate Movers and APX Van Lines.

I contacted this company after finding them while searching for LTL freight shipping services. It turned out they primarily provide full-service household moving, which was my misunderstanding, and that's perfectly fine. What was not fine was my interaction with Ronnie, who identified himself as one of the company's more senior moving specialists. After I explained that I had been looking for LTL freight services and hadn't realized this was a full-service moving company, instead of answering my questions or explaining the benefits of their service, Ronnie simply said, "Good luck," and abruptly hung up the phone.

I recommend book your move with another company. I booked to move and paid over 8 thousand down for the deposit, within a few days from initially booking the move we had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances in my family. I was not able to receive my deposit back, paid over 8 thousand dollars for a phone call. Go to a company who cares and will work with you, it's not like we canceled just before the move or anytime around when it would have affected this company.

Terrible experience. First off they give you a quote based on the items you say need to be moved however they severely underestimate the size of the items in order to give you a low quote. Once the moving arrvied they increased our price by over $1,000 for the exact items listed in the inventory because they said the cubic footage of the items listed was not correct by Interstate. It is also not advertised that this company just hires a third party for the cheapest rate and the company they hired for us was very inexperienced and not helpful. By the end of our 6 weeks waiting for our stuff to arrive we were not even communicating with Interstate anymore because they were not getting anything done for us and we were doing their job and talking directly with the moving company and the driver. I would not recommend to any friend or family.

I received an initial quote from Interstate on 5/29 for around $4700 after a video Zoom call to go over my inventory. On my call a few days prior to my pickup to go over my inventory, I took off several bulky items (including a vanity and couch) and my quote was increased to around $6800. At pick up, the movers increased my price again, to around $9000. Throughout the process, I was told by multiple people my things would be delivered within 1-3 business days, 1 week maximum even though the bill of lading says they have until 7/21 to drop off. 17 days later, on 7/5, the driver arrives to drop off my items and is demanding $1500 additional because the 18-wheeler won't fit in my apartment complex.

I booked before I knew that they were just a broker and contracted out for another moving company. The salesman, Mark **, made it sound like it was just part of their network of movers. He also told me that it would be a 3 day window for pick up and delivery. It was for pickup but it's been 3 days now and the company told me it would be 2-14 days for delivery. I've called and emailed Mark ** multiple times and he won't respond. I've called the interstate customer service line and it rings for 2 minutes and then hangs up on me. Very unprofessional and would advise against them.

I have hired 4 movers in my lifetime and the move coordinated by Interstate Moving & Relocation Group Inc. and the carrier they hired (Happy Wheels Moving) was by far the worst. I was told by Interstate that they are one of the largest moving companies which puts them in the position due to their size to only hire the very best carriers. If a carrier company does poorly, they never use them again. That was a lie. I can tell by many other reviews that this was not Interstate's 1st rodeo with poor service from Happy Wheels, and they continued to use them for my move in June 2025. I only received a pittance of compensation from my damage claim, which took forever to get processed.

Overall I would not recommend. Interstate is a broker with a good reputation in reviews from major publications. As a broker, your experience will depend to some degree on the service they provide to you and most importantly the mover they select for your move. They generally performed well initially – pleasant and responsive in formulating a bid, willing to be competitive on price. I liked that they could tell me upfront which mover they would work with so I could check their references. Ideally a broker intermediates to provide regular business to the movers they work with and helps ensure quality moves for their customers. Unfortunately once the move was booked, Interstate seemed to have little to no control over the mover. In my case this meant that for over a month I could get no information on when my move would be scheduled.

I wasn't looking forward to moving, but the entire process turned out much better than expected. The movers were professional, worked quickly, and took good care of my belongings. Everything arrived safely and on time.
