The response time until getting my first contact with a potential contractor was almost negligible. The first contractor had it estimated and projected for completion before the second could even arrive for a look see. Contractor very professional. Overall very impressed!

I get a call from Aimee ** asking to speak with me. And I say "yes this is me". She asked if I was looking to build a garage. I said yes. But I noticed this woman has got some kind of attitude problem. She acted as if we were dating or we were married or something. What I noticed was Aimee wanted me to answer her questions the way she expected me to answer her. I was not allowed to ask any questions to Aimee. And you could tell her getting upset just seconds after the conversation started. The phone call lasted somewhere around 20 seconds and she sighed and then rudely hung up on me for no reason other than the fact that she was impatient and had no respect to who the paying customer is.

Water heater repair - Service was prompt, professional, and friendly.

I needed to have my front lawn replaced. I placed a request through HomeAdvisor. I had 3 or 4 business contact me in a matter of minutes. I received their quotes and ultimately went with the best offer. My overall experience was excellent. I am very pleased with the work.

HomeAdvisor is a referral service; therefore, I cannot provide photos with this review. We needed referrals for a master bath remodel and for adding another bathroom in our basement. We contacted HomeAdvisor for some leads. We did hire one of those leads, but unfortunately, the experience did not go well at all. We have repeatedly attempted to leave a review on HomeAdvisor's site, but because the review is not a glowing one, HomeAdvisor is refusing to post it (despite the fact that we have physical proof of our claims in the form of inspection red tags). We have been in communication with HomeAdvisor about this matter, and we get the runaround every time.

Both contractors recommended by HomeAdvisor seemed reputable and honest. The contractor I chose completed the job and provided excellent customer service.

I have used HomeAdvisor for a couple contractors and have had a great experience but when I came across a contractor who gave me very poor customer service I did not rate that contractor very well but accurate. HomeAdvisor would not post the rating because they said I did not hire the contractor when in fact I did. The company was a maid service and over the phone we agreed upon a price for the first visit, and a price and day for weekly visits thereafter, and set a date and time for service.

The contractors I've found on Home Advisor have all been very professional. I would recommend this site to anyone I know doing a home repair or upgrade. I went outside this site for one part of the project and was completely unsatisfied with the company, and had a bad experience with them. I am glad this site exists and does the hard work for me, so I know when I get a contractor on this site I will be getting a professional contractor doing work worth the value.

Dumpster rental. Price was way lower for a larger dumpster than all others called and staff was courteous and friendly, as well a flexible time to keep the dumpster as needed.

The people they send to give quotes have all been very understanding of what it would involve... I have used them several times.

Tree removal - Very professional and helpful.

Located the perfect sliding door repair business and hired them.

Dead tree in front yard needed to be removed. Owner quoted $150 when he came to the house to look at the job. Crew showed up several days later and removed the tree and raked up the grass and used a leaf blower to remove any sign of work. They took all of the wood and clean up material with them. Good job, I would hire them again if I need similar type of work.

Ceiling drywall - The issue with the dust, debris and insulation that fell from the ceiling caused significant illness that lasted for 3 days (runny/stuffy nose, running burning eyes, coughing, sneezing, severe headache and chest pain). In addition, the ceiling wasn't flush upon completion. As a result of these issues, I was not charged for the work done, which was why I gave a decent rating.

Choosing a contractor on the HomeAdvisor site was extremely easy. I put a couple of key words describing the work needing done and was matched to a contractors. Literally within a few minutes I had two contractor contact me to set up appointments and estimates. From estimate to job complete with my availability considered took 6 days. I was very pleased with the quality of the contractor. I would use HomeAdvisor again and have recommended their service to co-workers.

Furnace replacement - This is a very expensive job to have done and I looked to HomeAdvisor for reviews since this is my first experience having this type of work done.

I have posted few home remodeling projects and there are people who respond to it. HomeAdvisor does a good job of filtering the right licensed people and have a good review system for each of them. I like the review section where one can post why he did or did not select a contractor and if the project was complete or not.

I saw the ad on TV and went to the website. Filled out my request and within 10 minutes received a phone call and within an hour-ish Oscar was at our home giving a bid. Hired on the spot. Was on time everyday, cleaned up, and came back for nail pops that we missed. Very conscientious and professional.

Outside pole light had a break in the underground line feeding the fixture. This required excavation and reinstalling a new underground cable. The original installation was not code compliant leading to its failure. Mr. ** was thoroughly professional, insisted on code requirements in the repair, and was thorough, efficient, and pleasant to work with.

Here's his own words: This company "HomeAdvisor" has high case sales people who will lie to Contractors, feeding on them, their goals and sales approach is all B.S. Don't trust what they tell you about leads that they send you on because they're all fake. I believe these leads they send you somehow work for the company because I recalled a voice from another call from the same day. When you figure them out and call back you can never get back in touch and they will send you in circles and charge you for a service you never got. Very unprofessional. I was suppose to be charged $250 per month, my first invoice was over a grand and that's within only two weeks, they should be reported to the Attorney General. I hope others don't fall for this like I did.

HomeAdvisor was and has always been awesome. When I have an issue I get on and immediately find professionals who can help me out. I like that they usually call me, or I can call them. Also, I feel like the professionals know that their reviews on here are important, so I feel like if they have a good rating by enough people, then I can count on them doing a good job. Not to mention that some of the issues I've faced required a quick turnaround and through Home Advisor, that was possible.

I found a wonderful flooring company but I did get bids from two other individuals. As for the trim I need fixed I have talked with a couple people and they either didn't get back to me with a bid or didn't show up. I am still working on find someone to complete the job. I like having the access to companies but as with anything else a person still has to do their homework.

Please with contractors. 2nd time used HomeAdvisor. No complains as of to date. Have a couple other jobs left to be done in home. Will use HomeAdvisor for contractors. Have started mentioning, hopefully will start recommending to family and friends soon. A tree fell in my yard and crushed a section of my fence. There were a few other fence areas which has suffered a similar fate over the years. The company cut up the tree and made all repairs and were very pleasant to deal with.

The gentleman that helped me when I called HomeAdvisor gave me the names of 3 companies... then told me that one had 29 reviews and a 4.98 rating and the next had 6 reviews and a 5 star rating and the last was new to the website. I then picked the first with 29 reviews. The HA gentleman spoke clear and asked if I was looking for additional work for the house. I did not have any and then hung up. Great experience from start to finish. Will definitely got thru HomeAdvisor in the future. Thanks!

HomeAdvisor is very easy to use. I have used them a half dozen times or more when I don't know who to call to get work done around the house. All of the contractors call me within 24 hours and are professional and generally very reasonable. I have never had a problem and very happy with the service.

The first plumber I called from the list (JBI Plumbing and Heating) was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable. I had a reasonable estimate within 2 hours. The work was done well and the cleanup was excellent. Due to some underlying conditions, the cost was more than the estimate but still reasonable. I will use HomeAdvisor again.

I signed up with Home Advisor for a second time. The first time was ok, a few bumps and bruises along the way, but I would have given them a 3 star rating in 2013. Now they get one star, and if I could give zero stars I would. I signed up for a plan that would send me $300 worth of leads a month. In the first 3 weeks they BOMBARDED ME with $550.00 worth of leads. They say they send this out to 2 other people, but I saw 2 of my leads receive up to SEVEN people, 2 of which were not even for the service I provided (Painting) and they got leads for SNOW REMOVAL - WTF??? Really? I called my "rep" (which is only my rep for the first 29 days they say, then they don't care about you anymore), and all I heard was how horrible his job was, and how he was so overloaded. Save yourself the hassle, and build your own website that generates your leads for a tiny fraction of what home advisor will screw you out of.

HomeAdvisor's recommended 2 repair shops in my area were both professional and the one selected, MGM's Cabinet Installation Service, exceeded my expectations in performing repairs to my front door at a lower cost than I had budgeted for.

HomeAdvisor was quick and easy to use. I was going to use another review service to locate a professional for tree removal. While searching and reading what seemed like dozens of reviews on the other site, I realized quickly that I did not know enough about tree removal to accurately evaluate the reviews I was reading and the companies that were being presented. I went to HomeAdvisor because HomeAdvisor sends the pros to you based on your search. I was presented with three or four good possible options and immediately started the quote process. I ended up with the first pro that I contacted, because he was just as good as his reviews suggested he would be.

Solar system wiring repair. Squirrels biting wires between panels with wire laying on roof. Wires were repaired, conduit was installed, and wires raised off roof!

Moving to drought tolerant landscape. Mr. ** was able to remove ALL existing grass and shrubs down to the roots. He was able to relocate 4 sprinkler heads. Prior application, he discussed with me the ORGANIC product that he would be using for weed control for the backyard. Overall did a very good job.

I was referred to this so called "handyman" by the HomeAdvisor website. After receiving my inquiry he called my home and at the time I was not available to speak on the phone so later I texted him and let him know that I would call him the next day. His reply was, "ok... So" which I thought was odd. The next day I contacted him again via email to ask if either Thursday (2/25) or Friday (2/26) would work with his schedule. His reply was that his schedule was always booked and that Thursday would not work for him.

Yesterday, my wife was just looking at the possibility of doing duct cleaning in our home, as well as hiring someone to do some house cleaning. She was very clear that she was JUST PLANNING. However, in the last 24 hours our phone has been ringing off the hook. HomeAdvisor is a scam if all they do is shoot out phone numbers to a variety of vendors in order to circumvent both the TCPA and no call lists with both KS and the Federal Government. I will be filing no call violations against every one of the companies that have called, as we have never done business with them and they do not have written permission to use autodialer technology to call us.

Know what they are doing and the easiest way to do it.

After searching and talking to some repair companies online like Sears, I used Affordable Appliance Repair, as they were cheaper and faster in repairing my broken washing machine. I have recommended them to my family and business friends who have rental properties for their appliance repairs.

I made a request online and never heard from anyone about the job when they claim will at least 3 responses. I contacted HomeAdvisor and a rep called me. She promised I would get 3 responses the next day - No one responded. Customer Service called and told me they would get me 3 the next day and an email from HomeAdvisor as to who to contact if I did not. I got no responses from contractors and no email from HomeAdvisor. HomeAdvisor cannot be depended on and you can't believe a word they say.

When I decided to remodel instead of sell, I wasn't sure where to begin. Since I was the GC when we built this house, I knew I would want at least 3 estimates on each phase of the work. I was not about to pay ANY website for contractor recommendations, so I started with HomeAdvisor. Each time I used Home Advisor, I got several contractors; some called immediately, some not at all. Of course the ones who called me got first crack at the estimate. I have not been disappointed by any of the contractors I hired, and in this day of poor customer service, each have been awesome to work with.

Needed service to repair low pressure water. Used this site by basically typing in what I was looking for. Received call backs in 10-15 minutes after hitting enter on my PC. More importantly, I managed this repair sitting in Texas repairing a problem in Mass. Found this site extremely helpful.

They connected me with a repair service within 5 minutes of my call. The repairmen were at my home approx 2 1/2 hrs later. Repair was completed in less than one hour. I asked about the cost before I gave the ok to do the repair. After seeing what a short time was needed to make the repair I felt the labor charges were a bit high but I am happy to have my washer working again.

It was easy to describe the problem and get a list of qualified three repairmen in the area. The only problem that I had was that HomeAdvisor somehow scrambled our phone number which meant that none of the repairmen could call us. We finally called them and got an immediate appointment.

I contacted HomeAdvisor after seeing an ad about them. They were prompt and I had someone to do my job within a few minutes.

HomeAdvisor may be good for consumer since they get a free service, but for contractors who pay for those customer's leads, it is absolutely disgraceful!!! They charge you per lead in order for you to get a phone number and email address for the customer, which is fine. But when the customer changes their mind or purposely puts in the incorrect contact information because they get gun shy about giving out their contact info, HomeAdvisor does not stand behind their professionals and instead just takes their money any way. Even after putting in a credit request because a phone number and email address is incorrect, they make one attempt to contact the consumer. If they don't get ahold of them, they deny the request. You can never resubmit the request for credit and you end up paying $70 for a lead that didn't go to anyone. Customer service agents can't even relay calls and have hung up on us several times. The only way to get someone partially competent is to speak with a supervisor and even then it is hit or miss. Contractors, spend your money elsewhere!!!

The work was done fine - but it unbalanced the symmetry of the home. I don't have to specify the work detail to a contractor. If the item being repaired requires to look the same as before, then the contract should his or her utmost to comply. Anything can repaired, but does it look the same or better prior to the damaged - that's my point. The outside look of house is where the value of the house come from for me. Thank you.

This site gave multiple people and the first one who called us for a quote did a fantastic job. This had some great recommendations.

We have used HomeAdvisor several times now. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED with any contractor they have recommend or that we hired from their site. I have several friends that have and pay for Angie's List. They offer to locate the professional I am looking for on that site. I refuse the help because we have been so thrilled with the quality of service we get from all of the HomeAdvisor contractors we have used! Why pay for a service that is equal to Angie's List without the cost associated with it!

The first recommendation who called and showed up saved me lots of money and have my job landed. I've tried it again with roofing. We'll see tomorrow if HomeAdvisor hits 2 for 2. I do endorse this site.

HomeAdvisor is one of the worst companies you can buy leads from! We have been using Angie's List and Thumbtack for years, and HomeAdvisor (AKA ServiceMagic) is not with the time to even consider! We have tried them when they still were "ServiceMagic". On average out of 10 leads we would actually speak with 3 and close 1-2 if we are lucky. They kept calling us for years to sign us up for HomeAdvisor, and we finally gave it a try 3 months ago. Lots of promises. Now, after we spent over $1000 in setup fees ($350) and leads too many "Dead" leads, and too many very expensive leads, that not worth what they say it worth. For example we just got charged today $112 for Siding lead, that was a $150 repair.

Every suggested professional I received from HomeAdvisor has been a real professional. I have not had any issue with any of them and the quality of their jobs has been impressive.

To all the people trying to make a living. HomeAdvisor pro is a hoax. They make it seem so good. I scrimped and saved to start a handyman business, with very little money and high hopes they said they will hook me up with a bunch of LEADS, to generate income. Little did I know, the income was for them, they were bogus and they charge you for them too, no matter what, even after I cancelled my subscription before the 72 hour was up. 2 leads, 3 days, both bogus... That's how they make even more money... don't do it... Keep your business alive stay away from homeadvisor... They are eye pokers!!!

HomeAdvisor suggested a few roof repair companies. Pickings were slim as roof leak in rainy season not a planned project. HomeAdvisor checked up on how the project was going, and even suggested another contractor, if my first choice was unable to fit my project into their schedule.

I found three excellent contractors for my tree service need. I was able to interview each contractor and get complete estimates from each one so I could make an educated choice about who to hire. I was very satisfied with the service I received and would use HomeAdvisor again on my next home project.
