I submitted a request to have some work done and within the hour I was receiving calls from qualified people offering to come look at the job and give a free estimate. Because our first experience hiring through HomeAdvisor was a positive one, we'll probably give them another try with some other work that needs to be done.

I use HomeAdvisor to find professionals to help with our different projects. The company that I have hired, I have been very happy with and would recommend HomeAdvisor to anyone.

This is the second time I have used HomeAdvisor and I'm impressed with the ease of use of the website and the quick response of the contractors when requesting quotes.

The site was extremely easy to use. The plumber I chose, Gary at All Certified Plumbing, did a fantastic job. I intend to use Home Advisor in the future to help me find people to rebuild a fence, replace a window, and a couple of other small projects I have been putting off because I didn't know who to ask. It can be intimidating having strangers come into your home. With Home Advisor and the great experience I had with my plumbing repair, I can feel confident that the service professionals I select will be competent, capable, and safe.

Chosen from list of appliance repair companies on HomeAdvisor website. Very happy with service received. Arrived when he said he would and completed replacing the heating element in abut 20 minutes. Also gave me a senior discount off of total bill.

I have used two people who were recommended by HomeAdvisor and they were both excellent. I highly recommend contacting HomeAdvisor! The next time I need a contractor, I will use HomeAdvisor!

I received three companies and was able to set appointments with all of them. The first company called to confirm what service was needed and informed me that they were not able to provide me service and canceled the appointment. Then I received a call from HomeAdvisor to ask if I have heard from the second company and since I had not as of that time they canceled the appointment. The 2nd company called me later and were able to reconfirm the appointment. The third company never confirmed the appointment but did arrive at the appointment time but the service was already completed. This was the easiest time I have had booking service for my home.

I absolutely love HomeAdvisor! I was first introduced to them when my mom needed emergency plumbing service. She was impressed with their quickness to respond and professionalism. I recently used them for my own heating emergency and I was extremely impressed with everything. They were extremely quick to respond, professional, courteous and personable. I will most definitely use HomeAdvisor again!

I hired Eagle Top Construction through HomeAdvisor for a kitchen renovation. Dan ** at Eagle Top failed to start and complete my project. I lost over $5,000. The only work completed was 4 can lights and a 1/2 the demo. HomeAdvisor did attempt to resolve the problem as a liaison to get Dan ** at Eagle Top Construction to complete the work as outlined in the contract. When he didn't return their phone calls they dropped him. However, I'm still out 5 grand. There's no recourse for (815 ILCS 515) Home Repair Fraud Act. HomeAdvisor takes no responsibility for referring me to this scam artist. I'm sure they think they prescreened him appropriately. Turns out, I'm not the only one. Yelp seems to be the only forum for victims of Dan **. IL Attorney Gen has done NOTHING. So, what good is HomeAdvisor?!! They get their money from contractor advertising for them then it's hands off, "not their problem." Their guarantee is meaningless.

Omar ** of Quality Connections did an outstanding job of fixing our audio-video system. One of our speakers was not working. He diagnosed the problem, got the speaker working on a temporary basis, and returned a week or so later to replace a speaker switch box that was not working correctly. His price was fair, he was patient and knowledgeable, and he was a pleasure to work with.

ECR Plumbing quickly and efficiently diagnosed the source of sewage odor in my home. The repairs were made and the problem no longer exists. Will hire ECR plumbing again.

Up to this point they have made 3 recommendations and I've been very happy with all three referrals.

I put in a request for house cleaning service and was initially worried because I didn't see a whole lot of vendors for my area. However, We Clean Houses promptly called me back and was able to schedule service. The service was everything I was promised. I am very happy with both HomeAdvisor and We Clean Houses. I will definitely be using both in the future.

I had tried to get tree installation from one of the known companies in the area. They were unresponsive. I went online to HomeAdvisor, and that very day I was contacted by two companies willing to do the work. Within the remainder of that day I had a quote for the work. I agreed the very next day and had the installation done within two weeks (took that long due to the snowstorm). The work was done to my exact specs. Really pleased.

See review for this project. It was more than I want to do now, but in short version: signed contract, gave deposit, cancelled three other contractors for bids. The employee returned with the contract & cash. I was told that his employer just fired him & I was now on my own. This is very unprofessional and a waste of my time. I now under much stress & anxiety to try and have this done before next rain. This is no way to treat a disabled veteran. I will not use HomeAdvisor ever.

Interior Door replacement - The job went well. They did a site visit, gave a written estimate and performed the work on time.

I searched for tree removal services and three pros popped up. With the click of a button it contacted them for me. Within minutes one of the pros called to schedule an estimate. Within an hour the other two pros contacted me and I had scheduled all three estimates. I was then able to choose the best price and got my dying tree cut down and hauled off. Awesome site.

Installation of indoor banister and outdoor railings. Very responsive. Called back within 15 minutes of my original call. They were a little late for the estimate appointment, but called to let us know. They did beautiful work and went above and beyond doing a complete clean-up and a little repair job on my front railing. Would definitely recommend them!

Handyman Services - This company, Moving Saints, exceeded far and above my experience with any previous company. They are skilled, hardworking and the cost is reasonable. I am very, very pleased and would recommend them highly.

Southern Integrity Home Improvements - Contractor from this place came out and gave me a quote. Assured me that he and his installers would come and start on the project on the weekend. They never came. After many attempts to call them they stopped responding. NEVER AGAIN!

From the time, I signed in to HomeAdvisor to the time I was talking with a plumber was about 10 minutes. The plumbing service I got was excellent.

Was just looking for estimates, but didn't want to be inundated with calls, so cancelled the request. But the request did go through and I got a call 15 minutes later; ended up hiring the company, and less than 24-hours later the work is done and my wallet is not as light as I expected.

I have gone ROUND AND ROUND with these people. I have spent THOUSANDS with them. All of a sudden I am getting TONS of BOGUS LEADS! I have a DEAD man that has a NEW a/c. How did I get that lead. When I talked to them, I get denied for a refund. Then I have LOTS of customers who are just pissed off when I call them.

The furnace would not go on, the circuit board needed to be replaced. I had to wait overnight for the completion/installation of the part as it was specific to the model. It was completed and is functioning well.

The young man who came out to check the oven was prompt, polite, and professional. I was very pleased. He called and kept us informed of his arrival time. Our oven was beyond repair and it was nice to know not to throw money away uselessly! Great.

I used this company to hire someone to do a touch up on my kitchen cabinets. I read all the reviews and decided to take a chance on Specialty Design Coatings. Kaveh was wonderful. He did not try to get me to do a major refinishing on my cabinets. The touch up was all I needed.

Had a huge white pine removed and several trees trimmed to remove branches so I could mow. They arrived on time, did a superb job cutting down the 30-40 foot pine, shredding branches and grinding the stump. Trimmed up the rest of the trees as we discussed and cleaned up so well you would never know they were here. I highly recommend them and will definitely be bringing them back. Their price was competitive and fair.

I used to be loyal to Angie's List until I found that companies were paying to be on the list despite the commercials. So far, I have had good experiences with HomeAdvisor.

They timed it between rainstorms, removed a false gable and all the old roofing, repaired the skip sheathing, added a layer of plywood, covered it with waterproof sheet, replaced vents and added some new ones, and started laying shingles all in one day. The second day it rained heavily in the morning but no leaks. They finished the shingling and cleaned up. Beautiful job!

Dryer vent cleaning. Very happy with the company that did the work. It is good to be able to see the ratings that others have posted. The distance from the company to my location was a bit far and resulted in an extra charge but it was noted up front and I still felt the rate was reasonable.

Over the past month I've hired a plumber and hardwood floor company as a result of HomeAdvisor. In both instances the companies that responded were very professional and competitive in pricing.

I didn't know where to start looking for a handyman to replace our stairs. I started on Google and found HomeAdvisor. I never even knew this service existed, but I'm so glad I found it. We got an immediate call from the vendor we selected and had our work completed within a week. Not only that, but HomeAdvisor called to see how our search was going and recommend other vendors to check out based on our needs; they also followed up with an email. What a great resource this has been!

Not enough choices on selection of service. We were looking for someone to run some coax cable for a TV. The closest choice was "mounting TV on wall.

The technician was courteous, prompt, knowledgeable and skilled. The repair was done in a minimum amount of time (including part delivery), and the terms for the repair were very fair. I put in all the data they asked me about my project and I received two references. The next day I called one of them and hired them on the spot since they had good reviews on the internet - Innovative Kitchens. IK did a very good job and the price was fair.

The experience was very good. My only complaint is that when I went online to check for plumbers to replace my failed water heater I checked... "Do not want HomeAdvisor to select or ask for quotes for me"... I was just looking at the possible suggested plumbers, checking prices online for water heaters and doing what I always do - getting information first.

Home Advisors have been very helpful with the request that I have made. They made contact with the pro for what my needs were and was quick to link us so I can explain the type of problem I was having.

I am a contractor and I advertise in HomeAdvisor. More than 80% of all leads I have are from fake accounts, fake phone numbers and fake addresses. HomeAdvisor said that they charge between $7 and $59 but I've been charged for at least 40% of the leads more than $80 per lead. Absolute scam. I had to call them after every fake lead to get my money back and half of it never been return to my account. I highly recommend all serious contractors to stay away from scam like that. If HomeAdvisor is serious company they should check their clients and they should be fair with people like me who pay their bills. I paused my leads and can't wait to get rid of this scammers.

Toilet Replacement. Referred provider was excellent.

A breaker was thrown which appeared to be due to a short. Michael J. Palmer Electric found the cause, replaced wiring along with light fixtures that needed to be replaced. The short was in a corroded line in the joists between the kitchen and the basement and was difficult to find, but the electrician carefully traced the lines until he found it. I am pleased with the job which was done promptly, efficiently, and at a reasonable price. I would call again if needed and would recommend their services.

The handyman assembled a curio cabinet. Even though there were complications because of mistakes during manufacturing, he was able to do an excellent job with the project. They were friendly, on time, and cleaned up completely upon completion of the job.

As a contractor I decided to try this company for leads for work. After over a month I am in debt over $400 to them and only ONE legit job. Each lead for my profession cost over $40 and some of those looking are just pricing out jobs, but we still get charged just to talk to them. The idea of this service is a good one but the cost charged back to the contractor is way too high especially for a small business looking for work additional work and expand their company.

Floor refinishing - Floor was sanded in 6 hours and a first coat put down. The next day he was here at 8 AM, put another coat down and the next day he put the last coat down. I put the heat to 68 and left for 3 days. Came back and floor looked great. Wife was happy - HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE!

Found a contractor that worked well.

I've used HomeAdvisor for multiple projects; from garage door replacement to trash hauling and have always been very satisfied with the quality of contractors that have responded to my inquiries as well as the quality of customer service provided by HomeAdvisor. Although every contractor that responds to my request for quotes won't provide a bid that works with my budget, there are usually a couple of contractors that are within budget. One other positive aspect of doing business with HomeAdvisor is that they usually follow-up with you to see if you have any questions or suggestions. Overall, HomeAdvisor produces a quality product at a great price.
