With all the home project horror stories you see in the news, it is a blessing to feel someone has your back. I am both impressed & pleased.

I choose the first contractor to respond to me, which was the same day I submitted my request to HomeAdvisor. It was a wise decision and I have no regrets. However, I have since submitted a request for another project and contacted three recommended contractors and I have not received a response from any of them. This is very disappointing especially after my first successful experience.

Both the estimator and the worker arrived exactly when they said they would. The worker went right to work and worked steadily until the work was completed. He advised me how he planned to do the work then listened to a few suggestions I had to cut down on the wire that needed to be run. He liked most of the suggestion and I think in the overall scheme of things it saved time and materials. The finished work looked and worked well.

I got several estimates and they weren't all through HomeAdvisor. But I choose the one from HomeAdvisor as they were very responsive and the most reasonable. We have a friend who is a flooring contractor who uses your service so we knew that your service was valuable!

I just became a member and my first 4 leads have been totally bogus. I called the leads and they were not interested in the service. The only one who benefits is HomeAdvisor.

I used HomeAdvisor as a quick source to find a competent tile & grout cleaner near Lakeland, Florida. Since we recently moved into this area it gave us a quick source in finding a number of "Competent" sources to possibly do this work.

Only 2 plumbing contractors responded to my inquiry for service. Anderes responded same day and within hours of my query. The other plumbing company Albrecht never responded. I assume they received the request for service, not sure on that. I will use HomeAdvisor again in the future as the plumber listed (Anderes) was responsive and did quality work for a fair price.

HomeAdvisor is totally dishonest in their review process. After hiring a contractor and posting a negative review based on the terrible work he did, HomeAdvisor removed my negative review. Contractors pay to be listed on HomeAdvisor, and after the contractor I used threatened with not renewing unless the review was removed, they took it down. Stay away from them. Their listings are bogus, contractor was not licensed himself but was working under a relative's license. Why didn't HomeAdvisor pick up on this?

While I am very satisfied with the company I hired for my project, I am extremely dissatisfied with the fact that Home Advisor automatically signed me up to numerous emails lists without my knowledge or consent. I received no less than 4 emails within 12 hours of using the service. This is a deplorable practice that, unfortunately, more and more companies are using. If I wanted to be inundated with emails touting the company, I'd sign up for the mailing lists myself.

I had to jump through many hoops to find/write reviews. I'd rather just use Google next time. Too many unwanted emails and phone calls.

I have used HomeAdvisor for everything from heating and air, tree service, and painting. I have always found at least one pro to be excellent from their suggestions, but it pays to read reviews... the first to call you after you post a request might not be the best on the list.

He not only rebuilt 2 leaky faucets but he assessed a toilet I thought had a leak. He could not find a problem.

I hired one of their recommendations (Pride Fence in Saugus, MA) and am completely satisfied with the quality work and excellent customer service they provided. Just had a new roof put on our house yesterday by Corey Roofers. What a great job and meticulous cleanup! Owner of business was up doing the job with his workers and was done in about 8 hours start to finish. Would highly recommend this company.

Upon signing up with them the sales lady told me they would only charge me $45 already and then talked while she played recordings of authorizations to bill me and talked me through them the whole time. I could not hear them because she was talking. Then they started to send me leads but instead charges me $60 already and not the 45 I was told would be charged.

Love being able to go to one place and find all the help for around the house. We had sewer backup and toilet installed. Will use again as needed.

I made an appointment with Peachtree Appliance on HomeAdvisor's website, and the appointment was verified by an email HomeAdvisor sent me. Meanwhile, I started receiving calls from different companies about making an appointment with them. This is a glitch on the HomeAdvisor's website which they need to fix.

Needed well pump repair on a Saturday evening. This was the first time I used HomeAdvisor to locate a repair company. I will definitely use them again.

My husband hired someone on the HomeAdvisor site to do some work in my home. He made the mistake of paying for everything before they finished. Well guess what, they never returned to finish. We made several calls to them, they stood us up a few times, and we finally gave up. We reported this problem to HomeAdvisor, and guess what, never heard from them either... I would never use this site again to look for anything. Will go word of mouth from real people.

I used Angie's List a few times and in all of the times I used that service I think I have only ever hired one person. Most times I couldn't even get contractors to show up or if they did show up I would never hear from them again. So I am very pleased with this free service. Roof replacement - Great and timely online service.

We selected Valley Vista to replace our roof and repair water damaged sub-roofing. All work done was very professionally performed in a timely fashion and the resultant roof appearance has drawn positive comments from our neighbors.

I first hired a handyman through HomeAdvisor and was very dissatisfied with the cost. The person was to quote a price then said he needed to wait until arrived to quote the price. He didn't have a receipt and said he would email one, after not receiving it I emailed him and still have not received it. I was leery of hiring someone else for the lawn from them, but I made sure I got the estimate prior and was very pleased with the work I received.

I called them for a friend that is not computer-savvy. 12 months later and I find out my contact info was sold to contractors, and the phone calls started. I contacted HomeAdvisor, and they said my info was sent to "Unsubscribe." Now 3 months after "Unsubscribe" and the email spam starts. I called them and they said it displayed as Unsubscribe, but they would click it again. I have no idea how the projects would be done, because when asking for help no one called for 2 days. My friend's hot water heater need attention before that.

I needed my dryer ducts cleaned and chose Clean Air Ducts company to do the job. It was a good choice. The price was fair, they were on time, friendly, explained what the job, gave me a time frame as to when they would be finished. They finished within that time frame and the results were great. The appointments are made quickly - within my time frame and the technician/professional has always shown up early and done an outstanding job. Great response time. Came out and gave an estimate next day. Great timeframe for service. Arrived on time to do the work. Did work that was requested. Above average job with bush trimming. Only concern is a $200 estimate was given and at the end of the job I was told it would be $50 more. Not sure why. Nothing had changed in the yard since the estimate. A card or proof of business license to identify the company would have been nice as well.

Very dissatisfied with this service. It took them forever to respond to my initial email about getting NO response from the contractors they recommended and then when I complained about that they merely closed the account... They thoroughly convinced me that my time was wasted and I am no closer to finding a contractor than I was when I first contacted this service.

Responses to project listing were immediate. The contractors were all willing and able to handle the job. I liked that they were local and that there were recommendations that you don't get from the Yellow Pages. Although your survey email came within a day or two, the roofing project has just been completed and I would give it a little time to make sure there are no leaks.

Their 800 number doesn't work, and neither does their LiveChat or email link. Many of their 'professionals' act very unprofessionally! I've been trying to schedule a handyman for three weeks, received one call back, but after he said he was interested, nothing. Same with landscapers I've called from the site. Is everyone on this site so busy they can't call back, and if they're that busy then why are they advertising on the site?

The plumber I chose came with many positive reviews and his professionalism on site was just as stated in the reviews. His price was reasonable, his work was perfect and when asked, he took on additional work for a minimal fee. He also took the time to clean up when completed. As well, he gave me advice on how to prevent a slow/clogged drain in the future. Would request him again, in a heartbeat.

(There were 3 listed). Although the price paid was not inexpensive, I believe that the business I chose, Silver Moon Lighting, did an exceptional and professional job! No more hiring friends, I'll only use Home Advisor. Every time I've used Service Magic - HomeAdvisor, the contractors knocked it out of the park!

HomeAdvisor has been fair. Good companies at great savings. I like the old servicemagic days where you would instantly get 3 companies call you and fight for your business. Now, you have to call them which doesn't really promote competition but all in all still a decent service

Was prompt, did excellent job, and completed within 2 hrs as had estimated.

I am using HomeAdvisor for a couple of projects, one of which is now complete. Thanks to their help. I had several stumps ground and a tree removed through their recommendation, which turned out great. I am waiting to hear back from the pest control service, but look forward to their business if it is anything like the last recommendation.

They promise services that they don't deliver then continue to lie, then just don't respond any further. Hold times are excessive and emails get form letter responses that are irrelevant.

I also like that you can make an appointment and that if the appointment cannot be made they phone you up to tell you. In summary... I'm cancelling my Angie's List subscription right now. Thanks to HomeAdvisor, which is FREE! I find it hard to get highly rated pros who want to anything other than take my money on Angie's List.

Edmonds Tree Service did a great job removing two large alders and at a very reasonable price (~1/2) of my first bid. While I did not make any specific use of HomeAdvisor services, other than the original posting, knowing that they check out companies and would support me if I had issues was reassuring.

When I was searching for a company, I stumbled on HomeAdvisor, but didn't know what it was all about. I picked a random contractor and called the number listed, but instead of that company picking up, it was HomeAdvisor. I was surprised, but after asking the HomeAdvisor representative questions about it, I was quite impressed with the service provided! I will certainly use HomeAdvisor again for any other projects that come up.

The trim around my townhouse was made of wood and they had started to rot. They replaced the rotten portions and capped everything with PVC material. Their cost was reasonable according to my comparison research and I am very pleased with the material and work done by Champion Home Improvements LLC.

Better than expected. I received several contractors who I interviewed prior to making my decision.

I used your service late last year. I paid $1400 for concrete surface repair based on excellent ratings on your website. The work completed was abysmal. In addition to two uneven topcoats, the surface applied by the contractor cracked within two weeks after the repair, and continues to crack. I phoned him on several occasions to view the work he had done, whereby he repeatedly stated he would. He never returned. I exchanged phone calls last year with the contractor. He stated that in the spring he would make good while also threatening me with legal action when I gave him a poor rating. I have digital copies of these phone calls.

I have used HomeAdvisor for a variety of tasks. In each instance, they have provided me with contractors. I have found their contractors to be as advertised. There was only one out of many that did not meet expectations and did not have the required skill level for the job.

In my opinion the Mr. ** is honest, sincere, and professional. Most notable is that each step from first contact, to the estimate, to scheduling, and then repair servicing Mr. ** respects the customer's concerns. I appreciate that he listened to my questions, provide me with a variety of options, and is patient while I work through my decision making process. Being notified of possible scheduling delays or repair timeline issues before the work is executed that may result in adjusting my work hours and allowing me the opportunity to decide is essential to effective communications and an honest business practice. Thank you Jake for making me feel like I got more than I expected and someone I can count on if and when I need an honest and professional craftsman.

HomeAdvisor gave me several options to choose from when I did the initial lookup for my gutter replacement project. I called a few of the companies to get some estimates and the company I choose was very affordable and did a great job of installing the product.

Finding a plumber. Very easy to use the site & extremely prompt response time. I didn't have to spend a lot of time doing my own research.

I received numerous phone calls from vendors right after I looked for recommended vendors in my area. I did not want to receive any phone calls. I wanted to read the reviews and call the vendors myself. Several of the calls I received were from vendors I hadn't chosen. I did not want my information to be given out. I would have preferred to read the reviews and decide which vendors I would like to call. It was very annoying to have vendors I did not want to contact get in touch with me. Otherwise, it is a great service to see actual customer reviews and read their recommendations.

Lawn grading and dirt removal. This was done on a very short notice. We selected a company that charged a little more, but they were available to do the work within 24 hours. The work was of high quality.
