This is the third person that I have hired through Home Advisor and all have been wonderful. It is so much more professional than word of mouth. The persons are reliable and insured and have professional equipment. Glad that this rural area is covered.

They were very friendly, and even called me with suggested contractors. I have and will continue to recommend the use of HomeAdvisor to my family and friends. In the future there will be other home remodeling services that I will need and I will be utilizing HomeAdvisor to find a contractor.

Provided a list of plumbers to choose from and also had plumbers call me. The site gave tips on how important it is to get several estimates and not to be skimpy with what I am willing to pay because plumbing is a permanent job that should work for a long time.

I generally use HomeAdvisor to give me a starting point to find contractors to do various projects around the house. On a several occasions I have actually used one of the 3 contractors that the site recommends. I like the detailed nature of the various expertise available from the list of contractors which helps to match up with the actual needs I might have.

I highly recommend anyone use this service. I just purchased a home and needed some minor repairs and maintenance. Every professional who called was prompt and courteous. So far I have hired 2 contractors and have been pleased. I have more projects to come and will definitely use HomeAdvisor.

HomeAdvisor was able to provide me with a great contractor for my home painting project. The contractor contacted me quickly and was able to complete my project within a few weeks. However, on another project, I was not able to find the right contractor and am still looking.

Carpet stretching - Charles showed up on time, was friendly and professional. He cleaned up after himself and I was very pleased with him. I would recommend HomeAdvisor to my friends and colleagues. I had a bad experience with a handyman who did not have the skills necessary for the job he bid on. It impacted my move into the house. It was a much better experience after I called HomeAdvisor.

Had severe water damage to my home and needed someone to assist in getting a failed water heater removed from my home. Polled for job takers through HomeAdvisor and had a company meet my needs within minutes... Very impressed and will use Home Advisor for future needs.

This is a great service and I love getting multiple contractors to bid on a job (fireplace). It goes to show how much quotes can vary and how different contractors give you a different perspectives of the work that needs to be done.

Although there is no requirement to use any of their suggested providers, HomeAdvisor provides several competitive companies to start to use for price and service comparisons, when you don't have any other personal knowledge of a service provider or of the scope of your project.

Roof repair - This is the 3rd time I have used HomeAdvisor and I have always received competitive prices and several bids. The services have been above my expectation, and for less than I expected. I would recommend them before turning to the internet or Yellow Pages.

I had contacted another dot com that was referred to me and was told that I would receive an estimate within five hours. AlI received were a bunch of texts and emails stating I would be contacted. Never did receive any estimates. This was not the way I wanted to do business. HomeAdvisor was my next option (should have been my first). I did receive a name to contact. So I called and got an answering machine and before I hung up I had another call on my phone and it was the contractor calling me. We talked for a bit telling him what had happened to the fascia during the storm. He asked that I take some photos to send to him. I sent them to him and he said "let me think about this." He texted a short while later giving me a price which I thought was pretty reasonable. He said once he repaired it that it would not come down again. He came out and did the work. I was very pleased with his work.

AC Duct Cleaning - HomeAdvisor offered 3 contractors to give competitive quotes. Also comments from customers for each contractor was helpful in determining final contractor to perform work. It was nice to know that the contractors were screened by HomeAdvisor. I will use HomeAdvisor in the future.

I have used several repair services recommended by HomeAdvisor and all services were done professionally and at a good price. Callback for the job is very quick. I have hired fence repair, vent cleaning, roof repair, pool rescreen, stucco repair and irrigation repair through HomeAdvisor.

HomeAdvisor was very helpful in selecting a roofer. I arranged for three estimates and two out of the 3 companies were very good, I ended up choosing Walsh Roofing (formerly SCM). Walsh Roofing did a fantastic job. The third company, Kennedy, send a consultant who reeked of last night's alcohol and wouldn't stop talking and giving me his hard sell long enough to even allow me to effectively ask questions. Funny enough Kennedy has great reviews on your site.

Duct cleaning was done efficiently and well. Scheduling easy. Arrived on time and went immediately to work. Helpful advice. Clean and courteous. Would definitely use again. Looking forward to using this service again to do home projects.

I found my repair company randomly online and it was on the HomeAdvisor site. I know there is a lot of sham sites there... my business is on many of these! But this is legit. Had several contacts and the company I hired was 5 star.

It has been good to find a website where you can find professionals to do your job. Read their reviews before you hire them, chances are you will find what you want and take more than one estimate. They will be interested in keeping their rates high to get jobs, and you get good service, excellent system.

Tree removal. Good experience from the time I clicked to get an estimate. Damien came out that day, gave me an estimate, scheduled service 6 days later, was on time, professional and completed the job in a few hours. I have never used this service before but I will definitely use it again when searching for home repair.

Most bang for the buck. Pauly was friendly and professional in accomplishing the job. Explained to you each step he was taking. Price was right and will call him again. Recommend you call Pauly for your tree trimming requirements. Placed a lot of rating by the cleanup of leaves and bark. Very fast work but very thorough. If you are on a fixed income and need tree service, call Pauly for and estimate.

Water heater replacement. Was able to access top three service providers. They were emailed with my phone number. Two of the providers called me before I even had a chance to call them. I will definitely use Homeadvisor in the future. Liked homeadvisor better than Angie's List.

I have used HomeAdvisor in the past, but will not use them again. I did a google search for a particular company, saw their number and called. They did not answer the phone with the name of the company, so I asked if they were indeed the company and they said "We are answering the phones for them". After a few moments of questions, they connected me to the company I intended to call. I notified Homeadvisor that the tactic was deceptive (showing HomeAdvisor's number as the company's number on search engines) and I did not intend to call HomeAdvisor. After many emails and calls they finally said if I had the business call in, they would refund. When they did, HomeAdvisor refused. I will use the contractor again, but not HomeAdvisor.

One painting contractor we received a estimate from was a bit unprofessional with his estimate (given to us on a handwritten piece of paper). Otherwise the other 2 we spoke with and received estimates were very professional and we hired both. The work is done well!

Flying Locksmith's service man was very knowledgeable. Pointed out what the problem was and what was needed to repair the problem. Also, I spoke about another area of concern of mine. He was not pushy, helped me research other companies selling same type product. In general, I will use this company again, put them in the computer for future use. I would definitely recommend them to my friends.

Customer Services was a little confusing. There wasn't good communication between us. They said they had cancelled the appointment when it wasn't. Fortunately, I didn't hire someone else because the original appointment was met. They were friendly but didn't make themselves very clear as far as I could understand.

HomeAdvisor employed me about a year ago. Although as a contractor we are required to pay to be listed on their site and pay for your leads. I did a job for them and had a dissatisfied customer. As I did what they told me what to do for this thinking they would keep me listed they cut me. HomeAdvisor is not contractor friendly. They care nothing about their contractors. I would not use them to walk my dog. Don't believe their hype. They're not worth it. If I could have given half a star I would have.

I have appreciated the HomeAdvisor website as we have been doing a lot of work on our home recently and live in a new area where we don't know companies. However, HomeAdvisor advertises that they will give you a $50 reward for every three projects you hire and give a review. I have hired and reviewed 6 "eligible" contractors and they still say I have to complete "one more project." I have called on this issue 3 times now and I get the runaround every time and they say they will get on it. I'm starting to think it's all a scam to get us to give reviews but they aren't willing to keep their word.

Gutter Guys came promptly and completely repairs. Had also used HomeAdvisor when looking for bathroom remodel. 3 people came promptly to look at the project, but never returned estimate for the job in spite of phone calls asking for such. So, 50/50.

The kitchen sink was clogged and they used the snake to clear the drain. The contractor gave some advice on how to prevent the problem in the future. The contractor also made some suggestions on how to upgrade the kitchen sink.

Finding a Carpet Professional - Worked out very well, the pro contacted me and was able to quote based off of my picture of the problem. This company solicited my Home Inspection company to advertise with their company. Promises were made to place my company on their website and to solicit business for me on my behalf. However, the leads sent to me by their company never resulted in any closed business. I could not reach anyone from HomeAdvisor, so called Dalworth Clean, the carpet cleaning company, directly, and they gave me a discount on the pricing because of the misunderstanding with HomeAdvisor.

Very pleased with Nick and his quality of service (house power washing). Professional, knowledgeable, and a very nice young man. He also did some extras that made us very happy with how the house looks now. Nick gave us several ideas re restaining our deck and how to manage normal routine cleaning. Goral Window Washing was excellent. They cleaned the roof, cleaned the vinyl siding and cleaned all the windows, screens & sills, inside & out. Very professional and made sure we were happy with the results. Don't waste your time with anyone else. You will be very satisfied with the results!

HomeAdvisor works well. I like the way you can contact my selected contractors without me having to pick up the phone. All you have to do is wait for the phone calls to come in and then choose your preferred provider. And all the contractors I have used through this service have done good work.

Generally happy with overall process and user friendly website. I think it would add to the overall comfort factor if 3-5 businesses were recommended upfront versus two. I had requested quotes from both contractors that were recommended - had one do the roof only & the other cover trim and misc rotten wood replacement. Had issues with the second. One general comment on working with a variety of projects - the sales reps tend to be especially pushy in getting your signature the same time after going through the sales pitch/quote. This leaves little chance at getting a second/third quote to weigh options.

Plumber was very professional. Liked the use of texted message to know who was doing the work. I believe a senior citizen credit was given, but would have liked some coupons for the work. It's hard to find the exact company online to check for reliability.

Shortly thereafter, I received a phone call and a follow up e-mail from Melinda with Florida Home Inspections. She was very professional, courteous and informative. She scheduled my home inspection for the following Saturday. She followed up with a call during the week to confirm my address and appointment time and date. Not all contractors are created equal. Very few seemed to want to come out and physically look at my project to give an estimate. They wanted to do it over the phone and I felt uncomfortable with that. I was surprised at the number of contractors who called when I asked not to be called. I did speak with an associate of HomeAdvisor who was very, very helpful.
