Before I would type in my next piece of work and I would get calls from 3 reps straight away. For some reason now, it's very hard to get to that section, it wants us to lock in a guaranteed price, and I don't always know what is required so why would I do that? Bring back the easy way - I've used HomeAdvisor so many times and I love it, but it has to keep easy for the customers to find reputable companies.

Had I went with the guaranteed price, I would have spent a lot more money for nothing. My service provider was actually a lot less than the guaranteed price would have been. I think there should be a guaranteed price wording that says that you may pay less than the guaranteed price. Then, trying to upsell me a membership for a discount seems dishonest.

Door repairs, light fixtures fixed a closet and new weather strips around all doors. They were quick. I would use this service again. Confirm date and time prior to arrival and did follow up call to ensure satisfaction of work.

I was scheduled for a 1:00 appt. And my maid said she would be 1/2 hr. Late. You may reschedule or cancel any appointment 24 hours in advance for FREE. However, there is a $15 fee 2–24 hours before job starts; inside of 2 hrs the full booking amount is charged. After over two hrs I called and was told there would be no kind of discount and they would only reschedule since the workers have a FOUR hr window. The person I talked to was rude and didn't care about my inconvenience, only was told "they can be up to FOUR hrs. Late because that's their window". This is unacceptable for business practices where the customer will always be at fault. I will now have to post this across every social media platform I can.

Home Advisor found me several different contractors and I was able to choose both best professional at a very reasonable price. I have used Home advisor for several projects and found them to be a great resource to find competent companies to hire.

I really like the Home advisor service. I've used them for years. They respond within minutes to requests and make the process of finding contractors easy. Both contractors referred from home advisor called me right away, the only reason I didn't go with the other contractor was cost, but they provided excellent customer service as well.

I have used Home Advisor many times and have always been satisfied with the responses I have received. I usually start my projects by going to Home Advisor. And, I have recommended Home Advisor to many neighbors and relatives. I have used them to find a roofer, HVAC systems purchase and install in addition to this plumbing work. I'm a very happy client.

I had three companies call me immediately, and I chose Rize Above Doors and was completely satisfied with their work. They were professional, prompt, and did a great job replacing an electric eye and door rollers. They also did an inspection and made recommendations, but no pressure. I highly recommend them and Home Advisor.

I called looking for an electrician to hang a light fixture for me. After taking information for project, I receive an email for scheduled appointment two days before saying my TV mount would be a scheduled time. A tv mount was never mentioned during my discussion. Finally able to cancel the appointment and told the original had been canceled by me and TV mount schedule. Which I did not do. I would have to call and reschedule by original project. Needless to say after this mess I canceled membership. Customer service was horrible.

Home Advisor is a great tool to discover local professionals; however, don't think you still don't have to research the professionals they show you as well. I used to assume if they refer them they are golden; not true. I have found poor, average, and great professionals on this site. I do often come to this site before going anywhere else to look for professionals.

The company I found thru Home Advisor was great, I was really pleased with them. The only thing I didn't really care for was how Home Advisor has someone call you (not the company I selected) to try to set you up with a professional. I prefer to just look thru the companies that are returned on the search, I don't need anyone calling me unless I reach out to them first.

Wife and I noticed house was cold. We figured it was just COLDER outside. Turns out furnace had been down for two days. Contacted Home Advisor. They hooked us up with local furnace contractor. Got a quick call back. Schedule for following morning. Chilli Willie showed up on time and had us warm in 4 hours.

Repaired a Recliner chair wooden Leg that had broken off from the Frame. It was restored back to its original state of usage. I’m very pleased with the service that I received and recommend this company to anyone that is in need of having their furniture restored to its original state. Joseph was the repairer and he did an excellent job.

Home Advisor sent me several background checked professionals to choose from and I eventually picked one that they had sent me. They also sent me helpful hints on picking a good contractor for the job. I am very happy with my experience with Home Advisor for this project and will likely use them again.

Submitted request; they had no local installers available. Next day they asked for more details about project; still had no installers available. They did not give up. A couple of days later, I was sent two possibilities. One was a smaller, family owned business in New Hampshire, that also did work in Massachusetts, where I am, and Rhode Island. They called me the same day and set up salesman visit for the coming Saturday. Salesman was terrific; I signed contract that day. This is second time that I used this service and both times was referred to businesses that did a wonderful, professional job.

It was easy to set up the account, quick to fill out what I was looking for, and then I received offers almost immediately. Home Advisor is a great service when you have no idea who to hire for a job. The reviews people give are very helpful. I have used Home Advisor for tree work and a roof replacement and was satisfied on both accounts.

We had 2 men show up. Both were very polite and professional. They worked the entire time they were there. They found the problem that no one else could find and fixed it. They cleaned up after themselves and left the site. Would hire them again if I need any work like this done in the future.

Homeadvisor itself was fine to find our initial roofer (who was amazing) and then after trying to review them we were contacted every 1-2hrs by someone wanting to fix our roof- even after I had closed the projects, and contacted homeadvisor to ask them to stop. Their customer service is incredibly rude when I called a second time to delete my account because we were tired of the harassment. I will not use them again

I have had good experiences with Home Advisor. I have used this site to hire at least 3 companies in the past. I just used Home Advisor to find a company to install new gutters. The company was professional and did quality work and the price was fair. I would definitely recommend using Home Advisor if you are looking to hire for your next job.

I have used businesses recommended by HomeAdvisor on several occasions for multiple projects. Have always been pleased with the outcome. My latest project was unplanned: an old tree in my backyard split in half during an ice storm and I had to have it removed I had never had to have a tree taken down before so I turned to HomeAdvisor and went with one of their recommended companies who promptly took care of my problem and removed the damaged tree. Most of my projects are well planed but this was kind of an emergency-I'm glad I used HomeAdvisor.

I gave a list of home repairs to Shah that were called out on Home Inspection. He was able to complete everything on my list in record time. Shah is professional and all of my clients that he has assisted a have been very happy.

HomeAdvisor came up with two contractor recommendations. I went with the only one of the two who appeared to do indoor work with aluminum handrails. He was also top rated. Worked out great for me. He did a great job.

Main breaker was repeatedly tripping and we learned it needed replacing before it was unable to be reset. Being an older house it was not a part that was readily available (could not just pop into the home stores to purchase) so Andy had to survey his other sources to locate the part. Once obtained it was almost a matter of minutes to replace and finish. It was also comforting to hear his estimate when the big company I contacted first gave one 10 times larger and not currently affordable.

Pruned and trimmed rose bushes, cleaned up all debris and hauled it away. Hard working, friendly, professional and super exceeded all my expectations. Will definitely hire again. It's finally good to meet someone I know will do excellent work for me in the future.

Took out old tub, replaced with shower with built in seat and glass surround on two sides, with knee wall. Also replaced old sink with customer provided sink, faucet and vanity. It took longer than expected since the shower with a built in seat had to be ordered and the glass walls had to be ordered after the shower bed was installed, due to having a corner to the walls, needing exact measurements.

I was contacted by a pro within minutes of submitting my request. The locksmith that contacted me charged less than the fixed price quote I was initially given. Glad I chose comparison shop on my own otherwise I would have spent a little more money.

My only real complaint was the cost. Since I had no estimates I cannot honestly say if it was out of line. They did advise me of the cost before starting, The job took 1/2 hour and cost about $400.00 with no warranty or guarantee based on the age of the pipe. Some of your companies on here are very shady and unethical. One HVAC company tried to tell me I needed a whole new furnace (it is 5 years old) and then they proceeded to tell me that I needed parts that the HVAC company I did hire said were shiny and new and didn't need to be replaced. I guess they thought they were dealing with a dummy. It makes me leery about who your contractors are and how vested they are with Home Advisor. You need to screen out the bad ones who are just trying to take advantage of homeowners!

Pricing was fair and only did the work I needed. The repair did not take long and he works in the area and he said I could call anytime if I had any issues with my ac/heating. And yes I would refer a friend.

I hired Bruce from Metropolitan Windows to blow-in insulation into my house. He was very knowledgeable and his prices were great. He came at the time promised and worked in extremely cold weather. He didn't leave a mess and did a fine job. Go with Bruce if you want to insulate your home.

We had more than 3000 sq ft of existing concrete replaced with ORCO paves. Also had about 800 sq ft of grass replaced with artificial turf. J & J guided us with the design and carried out the plan perfectly. Most impressive was the care they took in the preparation of the ground before laying the pavers. High quality work and high quality materials.

Contacted HomeAdvisor Tuesday to find a plumber, they arranged an appointment for Saturday morning. Thirty minutes before the indicated time, the actual plumber called to inform us that he had to cancel the appointment because he had other jobs scheduled. And, of course, Home Advisor claimed no responsibility and took no action to correct the situation.

We needed some work done on a property we purchased. Mobile home needed to be removed and driveway gravel laid. We had good follow up from HomeAdvisor. Someone contacted us to make sure we had received a call or email back.

They were on time as I was told. Did a great job. Cleaned up after the job was done. Very easy to get information about the job. Rewired the system. Checked the inverter that it was working correctly. A job well done.

Great experience, would definitely recommend. I’ve been looking for someone for months to install a dishwasher and hardwire it. It’s an old house and people only want to work with an appliance they can plug in. Nate hardwired our appliance like we requested.

Service Providers; Home Advisor is useless in some situations, (for clarification) meaning maybe the city you are in and/or they do not examine the leads before sending them to you. They charge you a annual fee of 288.00 before you can even start accepting leads. They have a fast talking salesman that sells you the membership annual fee stating that "hundreds of leads in your area". After sign up 6 days later no leads whatsoever, however there is an opportunities tab on their app that connects you to potential customers and you are not charged for the lead unless the potential customer accepts. Accepts, I thought meant accepts your estimate/price, however the furthest from the truth. Accepts only means that they accept to talk/connect with you through the Home Advisor app. If the potential customer accepts to 'ONLY' connect with you to ask questions and/or wants additional information, you are charged for the lead at between 30 and 65.00.

I've visited HomeAdvisor a handful of times for various projects and it's almost always been small businesses or independent contractors. They've stepped things up to recognized contracted and insured businesses. They even have their own "flat fee" and "membership" rates. (Their sales team were a tad pushy which always gives me concern so I went with one of their recommended contractors.) Zero issues with the work done.

I started by giving you 5 stars, and my only negative was that I received too many emails. Then my note here (which I am amending now for at least the 6th time) was rejected repeatedly. Experience now = 1 star.

My husband started a painting company, started to fill out a HomeAdvisor/Angie's List profile, and then was barraged with calls from salesmen wanting $400.00 per month to finish the account. Because he clicked on other painters' profiles to look at them, he also got a bunch of unsolicited calls from the other painters offering to paint our house. 4 months later we're still getting unsolicited calls. Angie's List was supposed to be all about customers helping customers. Now it has combined with HomeAdvisor and is all about money.

Jimmy with A-Quik Cleaning Services came and stretched the carpet in my home office. He did an excellent job, was quick and professional. Jimmy arrived to do the work just a few minutes early which I was impressed with. Friendly and very prompt in all communications and work that he did. If I have more work on my carpet I will definitely contact Jimmy. I highly recommend Jimmy!

I used Home Advisor to find a contractor to help clear a clogged sewer drain. Home Advisor connected me with United Sewer and Water who did a fantastic job for me. I would use Home Advisor again for any future projects.

We signed up with HomeAdvisor Aug 2020. We received many leads. Only one customer booked an appointment. After a week of using HomeAdvisor, we called in to cancel because we knew it was not for us. Three different times we called in to cancel and was told we could not cancel, that "we could only pause the leads for 30 days". On the 4th attempt I was able to get a supervisor on the phone, to which he apologized that we were told this and he cancelled the account.

Will was amazing and such a hard worker! It’s very hard to find people that actually want to work! Such a great guy! I purchased a Murphy bed and thought it would be easy to put together and install. Boy I was wrong! Next time I will call HomeAdvisor first!

Please understand, this is a review of HomeAdvisor itself, not any of its service providers. I booked a moveout house cleaning for Sunday, 1/31/21. Before I booked, I received three phone calls pushing me to do the booking. I made clear that my dates were not flexible. I received multiple confirmations of my booking, and planned the entire move around that confirmed booking. FIFTY FIVE MINUTES before the team was supposed to show up, I received a TEXT that the team wasn't available and it was rescheduled for Tuesday 2/2/21, after the last day to vacate the premises without a holdover. I made every possible attempt at communication, text, email and phone. I finally reached a foreign customer service call center, when I found out that they were NEVER ABLE to arrange a team, despite the fact that they confirmed my booking.

My snow removal was completed on the day I called. I was extremely pleased! Price was very reasonable. I have used Home Advisor before and always been extremely pleased! I would definitely recommend getting any service needs thru their service. It's also nice to know the people they recommend have been screened thru Home Advisor.

2 Recliners picked up at store and delivered to my home. Unpacked, assembled and cleaned up. I had 2 recliners they picked up. I was hoping they could be sold or donated as their condition was in fairly good shape. Tamara said she would clean them and see they got a new home.
