After receiving a painting estimate for my house that made me shudder, I reached out to Hill Country Painting for a second estimate. They met me a day later for a walkthrough and had my estimate ready on the spot. It was roughly half of the other company for more actual painting. I hired them on the spot. A week later they started the project after one more walkthrough. Three days later it was done and they met me for a final walkthrough. The work was absolutely fantastic and I couldn't be happier with it.

I called Home Advisor several days ago requesting a quote for gutters. When I talked to the representative, I was thinking they sounded like a referral service rather than the company that does the actual job. The rep assured me that they are the company that does the job. So I scheduled. When I found another company to do the job and cancelled with Home Advisor. They failed to notify the actual company that they sent the referral to. Yes, they lied about not being a referral company. The actual gutter company (Goode Brothers) came out and I told them I had cancelled. They were upset because they said that Home Advisor charges them $40 for the referral, the exact thing I was trying to avoid. So I notified Home Advisor about the lies they told and not notifying the company that I had cancelled. All they were interested in is whether I wanted a referral to another service. Money is their only concern!

HomeAdvisor was a great tool to search for help with this. I found a great contractor quickly and at a good price. The ratings and reviews that I read on the site were helpful. It allowed me to make a confident and quick decision to get a quick fix for my problem.

I googled Tree Service, HomeAdvisor came up I decided to give it a try. I was quickly sent to a number of services in my area. I got TimberHitch’s number, gave them a call and they returned it within an hour. They made and appointment with me were unable to keep it and called to let me know and set up another appointment and the arrived on time and were very professional.

Decoro LLC did a fabulous job start to finish and all the details in between! From taking down walls, ripping up carpet and putting down new flooring to painting, new kitchen cabinets, new lighting (especially love the undercabinet lighting) and a new breakfast bar. This was a major overhaul of our entire first floor and included the stairwell and hallway up to the bedrooms. I love my new home and the great job they did!

I've used Home Advisor several times now and have never been disappointed. I live out of state and have a rental property that needs occasional repair. It's comforting to know I can find a reputable service to handle issues when I cannot be present. I can feel confident that anyone I call to do the job has been thoroughly checked out and I can read reviews from others who have used them. What a relief. What a service!

Needed GFCI outlets installed into kitchen and baths to meet code for sale of home. We were needing this done ASAP and needed it to be to code and be documented on a invoice. Both Home Advisor and the contractor were very responsive and able to complete the work quickly. They fit us in right in the midst of 2 hurricanes.

We did not know who to call for our deteriorating deck so we tried Home Advisor. They provided a list of contractors in our area with ratings and reviews. We were able to get an appointment very quickly through their site with a contractor. We were very pleased with the communication and with the work of the contractor.

System worked really well. I typed in the problem I was having and the area I live in and they came back with options of companies that could fix it. In no time at all I had someone at my house who diagnosed and fixed my oil burner. Really nice, competent man and a fair price. I had called another company the day before and they were terrible.

Our experience has been mixed; one contractor was excellent, another was/is "Adequate" so far, a third was awful (floor coverings) and we have yet to hear from a siding guy who does smaller projects. The Home Advisor system does not distinguish between large siding jobs and partial siding jobs. Recommended contractors have refused to do partial jobs.

This project I used Home Advisor and everything went well for this project but I have tried to get two other projects off the ground and people refer to me through home advisor never have come through so this project very good but no one else has shown.

The company did an excellent job. The installers did a neat and professional job wiring the house and concealing the wires. They were courteous and took time to consult with me on how they were going to address the wiring and placement of the cameras.

Process was very fast. Quick, efficient and recommended professional contacted me in less than 24 hours. All communication with the contractor was recorded on website which provides proof of accurate conversation. Finally a website that helps customer find real professionals.

I was extremely unhappy to find out that HomeAdvisor charges the repairman $30 just for me reaching out to him. Regardless of whether or not I actually hire him, which seems extremely steep for just a quote. I’m thankful that I found the right person the first time but I can’t help but feel that it should be changed to a fee anytime someone books a service.

Home Advisor successfully connected me with reputable home repair professionals who did quality work for me in prompt fashion. I will not hesitate to use this service again when I need to hire someone to complete a project for me.

I requested recommendation for a handyman to remove a concrete flag pole and replace it with a new concrete flag pole. They told me that I had to give them a credit card for deposit of the fees. The handyman showed up but say he was told it was something different than what I requested and said he was unable to do the job and left. For two days I called HomeAdvisor to find out what happened, but no one called me back. The following day they tried to use my credit card to be paid, which I objected to the charge and it was reversed by the credit card company. Never will I use HomeAdvisor again. Do not trust them or their employees. A real scam.

I contacted Home advisor to have a metal ridge cap replaced and to finish the metal roofing over my deck. A gentleman showed up and stated that he was too busy to do the work and left. I was told by home advisor that I would not be charged until the job was finished but when I looked at my online statement they had charged me 1,208.00 for work that was never done. Excellent work, professional job promptly done. Called back right after my original call to get the job done. Were here the next morning and completed job. Provided us a discounted rate for paying cash. Highly recommend the job that they did.

Backsplash install with trim pieces for kitchen. Will use provider again. Only minor issues and it's my fault because I didn't communicate where I wanted trim pieces and there was a bit of bleed in the grout lines that I wish had been wiped out better.

Power wash the entire house plus patio and walkway. I also asked him to remove a pipe sticking out of the ground on my lawn and he did it without even charging me for it. Very good work at a very reasonable price.

He removed my old Maytag dishwasher and placed it in my garage. Then he installed my new one Stainless steel Bosch one in the kitchen. He also had to install a new 110 electrical outlet under the sink. Jack was very experienced and professional.

I had a door installed inside my home at the top of stairs leading to the basement. Eddie did a beautiful job, at a good price with zero issues. I am very pleased. He will be coming back this winter to replace four doors.

I was looking for a electrical company to install a generator switch. Home Advisor called me and said they could have it done at a guaranteed price. They asked for my credit card and set an appointment. The agent said they wouldn't charge my card until after the work was done. Home Advisor gave me a phone number if I had any problems or need to change the appointment. The day before the appointment the electrical company called to confirm the appointment. When I told them what I needed, they said they don't do that kind of work. I tried to call HomeAdvisor to cancel the appointment and could not get through. I spent hours on hold trying to get through to a human being to help me at HomeAdvisor. HomeAdvisor went ahead and charged my credit card for the service that wasn't done. It is almost impossible to get help from HomeAdvisor. I will never use HomeAdvisor again.

I have used Home Advisor twice for projects at our house. One time for landscaping and the other for garage door repair. You are on my list to be used again if need arises because I was satisfied with both experiences. Thumbs up????

Received call right away but couldn't use link from email to book appointment for 15% savings. HomeAdvisor Laura was nice when I told her I was driving and needed to discuss with husband and I'd call back. Would recommend Precision because they came out next day and job is done.

The contractor was terrific, but I don't appreciate HomeAdvisor charging contractors for just talking to customers. I understand the contractors should pay a fee to HomeAdvisor IF they get the job from the customers, but it's wrong to charge contractors if they don't get the job. HomeAdvisor needs to change its policy in that way before they lose a lot of contractors.

This was an excellent experience. We would use and recommend him in the future. He was quick, thorough and friendly. He explained how he would repair our interior shutters with missing pins. We were very pleased with the finished project!

I was extremely happy to find Home Advisor and receive recommendations for someone to help with my Tuckpointing. I was equally pleased and intrigued with the option to receive fixed price booking. The one person that was recommended responded immediately after I asked for referrals. The end result was satisfactory work.

First, the Good: I made an appointment using this company after the receptionist for my regular roofer quoted me a high price. The young man arrived more-or-less on time and completed the job. The BAD: I paid in advance with my credit card. The roofer claimed he was not paid, and, indeed, the charge doesn't go through until after the job is done. When I showed him the email with the charge (which was Dumb) he claimed-after quoting me $215, that he now had to charge me the $548, or HomeAdvisor would take the extra amount from him. He also stated that he only takes cash, which I had to go to my bank ATM to get. Sure Enough... the charge now appears on my AMEX. I don't know who is sleazier - Justin or this company. I tried to call HomeAdvisor while he was here, but there was a long hold, and I could not get through. I don't need this aggravation!

I have used HomeAdvisor quite a lot for the past 14 years since it was Service Magic. I have a personal house and 3 rental houses so I use it a lot. Absolutely no complaints with the Pros themselves... I've given them all 5 stars. But the HomeAdvisor part is what needs work. Always liked Service Magic because I felt it was fair, impartial and trustworthy unlike sites like Angie's List and Trust Dale, etc that are sponsored. It used to be simple, automatically give me 3 pros and a list of backups... All with contact info and reviews.

Very prompt in sending two companies for me to consider. I did use one of the companies they recommended. I was very satisfied with the company they recommended and will use Home Advisor again. The only negative thing I might say is that I received many emails from them.

Home Advisors selected several businesses which made it very easy for me to simply make a phone call instead of having to research the possibilities myself. Ultimately, I chose the first one who called me back and came to give me an estimate although those weren’t the reasons. I couldn’t be more happy with my choice or with the work that was done.

I need weeding, trimming, and cleaning of my small front yard. I usually get it done by a handyman, not professional landscaping. This year I couldn't find a handyman so searched on Internet. Home Advisor came up. I requested quote from two of their suggestions. One was quite expensive. The other one was perfect. For me, this Home Advisor search was very useful.

The Home Advisor website was simple to use. I like that it gives an estimated cost of repair based on the description provided. I also appreciate that the query populates the potential pros available for the work with their contact info and ratings. I had an idea who I wanted to reach out to before I spoke to anyone. I also appreciate that I was not bombarded with calls about the project; but was able to reach out to the companies on my own.

I have used HomeAdvisor, several times in the past for Kitchen projects, flooring and now my AC. I will continue to use HomeAdvisor in the future because they have a pool of experts (with customer reviews) and there are no salespeople forcing you to choose. I used Home Advisor to find pest control company. I was able to find a pest control company fast, was very pleased with the company. Home Advisor has not bothered me just because I used them to find another company to do the work I needed to get done.

When I first start looking into replacing my driveway, I really didn't know where to start or who to contact. When I came across Home Advisor, I was immediately recommended a few contractors. Although the first couple didn't work out, my second time worked out better. I was also contacted by Home Advisor to see how it was going. I really appreciated that call. I didn't feel I was left out in the cold. When dealing with the contractors, I felt they also respected this site and would not want to do anything that would hurt their relationship with them. I had 5 specific repairs that needed to be completed; replace rotted wood on door trims, replace smoke alarm, caulked outside wall joints, caulked nails on roof and cleaned out dryer exhaust vent. James was professional and did excellent work in less time than expected. The buyers were very impressed with the work that was done. I would definitely use them again.

Leak under kitchen sink. Replaced metal strainer and drain as well as other parts. Ran drill snake through waste arm to clear line. Lots of grease there. Unclogged left compartment of kitchen sink. No leaks there after repair was done.

The reviews on HomeAdvisor for Tx Seal Roofing were the most helpful thing in making my decision to hire them for an urgent repair of a roof leak. Additionally, I had them also perform some needed preventative maintenance. I was VERY pleased with the work performed by Tx Seal Roofing!

The companies you recommended responded quickly. All of them gave great estimates over the phone. Some required a service charge and the one we chose did not as that is what we always do, being retired on a fixed income. They wound up being the best choice for us in the end. We needed several estimates and cannot pay fees for them all to come, only to choose one and not be reimbursed for all those fees. We understand why the service charge but companies need to understand homeowners on fixed incomes, too.

Washer does not spin to get rid of the water of the clothes when the washing is finished. The service technician Sam from Appliances Center did very careful and thorough diagnosis of the washer and found the failure mode. Sam was also very careful in conducting his service. He wore face mask and gloves and maintained good social distance.

I bought tile, and the supplies JM Maia Flooring recommended on 07/16/2020. I paid Floor & Décor, and sent proof via fax to JM Maia on 07/17/2020, and also spoke to Shawn to confirm I was ready for the install. 07/28/2020, JM is two hours late, with no contact from them yet. I called them, and they said, "If you had paid for your tile we would be at your home by now." I explained the aforementioned. They told me prove it! I had to email JM three photos of my Floor & Décor purchases.

Received one contact quickly but had to wait a few days (4) before I got another one. Only two responded so I had to spend a very long time going through reviews for the surrounding contractors. Left several messages with only two returned calls. I still had to do it the old way and did not save any time in getting estimates.

The simplest way to express my review is to say that it was a seamless project. Without HomeAdvisor I was starting from scratch to get a reputable company to come out. I had exhausted my reach through friends and the "Do you know a guy/gal" recommendations. H.A. helped to narrow the field and I trusted the reviews that were written. While I didn't get a long list of recommendations they did also provide a short list of registered professionals that added to the field to choose from. I will use this service again. Thank you.

Angelo with Abbey Aire was fantastic. Called @ 7:30 am job was finished by 9:45. I didn't expect that quick service but will recommend him to all my friends. He was super professional with a fair price and just a nice man.

After attempting to clear the drain myself only to have the issue repeat itself, I had contacted another company. Home Advisor called me to see if I needed additional referrals even though I had used another group - that referral failed to show up multiple times, but the Home Advisor recommended pro provided a follow-up call to me, and I used this service provider. I impressed with their professionalism, timeliness and costs.

Mr. ** called from your recommendation. Said he would be happy to do the work that he would be here on a certain date. He showed up, gave me an estimate, left, said he needed to get parts, came back when he said he would, spent about two to three hours installing the product and venting it to the outside, He cleaned up the mess from going into the attic. He was friendly, knew what he was doing and I think the charge was fair. Would recommend him to any friend that needed a electrical problem fixed.

I was looking into prices for housecleaning. The button said I could just compare prices. I didn't want to be contacted. One company would not stop harassing me. He wanted to come the day I was looking at pricing. Called me three times the first day. Emailed me. I tried telling him I was only looking at pricing. The next day he called me at 6 in the morning telling me I had to call Home Advisor because he was going to be charged. I hung up. He called 2 more times, so I blocked him.

The company employed good technicians who did a great job in cleaning all the ducts. The employees were very professional. They came in time and worked very carefully. They moved the furniture and moved it back to its original place.

I have used at least 4 companies this and last year from Home Advisor. I have been pleased with all of them. It is important to interview the firms and get bids. I like to hire local companies instead of national and I have not been disappointed.

First they scheduled an appointment for two days out-- great huh? Claimed they had confirmed the appointment with the contractor. Day of the job I get a text message saying the contractor cannot come and re-scheduling for two days later at 9:00. Not so great, day of the new appointment comes I get a message pushing back to 9:30. Next the guy is lost, claims the office gave him wrong address. Next cannot seem to find the job site from the description and the address.

Be aware that if you sign up for Home Advisor is it my opinion that they sell your personal info to. I am called incessantly by car warranty companies more than a year later and it all started after I signed up on their website for info.

Home Advisor always allows me to plan out my budget and I get free estimates for immediate or planned projects which allows me to budget and make sound decision on which contractor I prefer. It allows me to research each contractor by quality, price and service.

The roof replacement was smooth, painless and CNY Complete Contracting did an amazing and thorough job. Superior Insulation also did a great job.. Both companies were timely, communicative, efficient and both took the time to re-clean and pick up the areas in which they worked. Thank you!

Installed new chain link fencing in ground hard as rock. Fence is very even. Have 2 dogs that couldn't be happier. There were 2 men putting in the fencing, it was so hot and humid out but they stayed with the job. GREAT JOB.

HomeAdvisor is completely terrible at providing accurate quotes for networking cable jobs and enough information to understand next steps along with who they booked at a fix price. I was told by support that my Pro would contact me to plan the job, but I received no call. I wouldn't put trust in their current system.

Foundation Repair. Oh My!!! What can I say. These guys knocked it out of the park. Their recommendations about where to put all the dirt was outstanding. Wish it didn't hit my bank account so much, but after getting 3 quotes for others, they were by far the best value. Our dryer vent was a bit challenging, since the 220 line for the dryer is on an inside wall of the basement laundry room. The ductwork had to be a bit longer with one or two turns. Juan did a great job in a small amount of time for a decent price.

We are two for two! When we needed a roofer last year we went to Home Advisor. So, this year we needed paving, and again we went to Home Advisor. Hired a roofer in 2019 from Home Advisor, and this year a paver from Home Advisor. We are happy with Home Advisor's listings and information.

Booked electric work through Home Advisor. They booked a man for us quickly and took the money out of the bank right after. We waited a couple days. They estimated the work would take 2 hours but I know it would not be longer than a hour. They would not let me book under 2 hours. I assumed if the man did not work 2 hours I would be refunded or credited time for the next project. The man was late 50 min. That's fine because he was nice. He did the job in 45 min. I contacted the Home Advisor company and told them it took 45 minutes and wanted the refund for the hour he did not work. The email I got back was no. They don't refund an unused time. I would still like a credit or refund. Sad that Home Advisor rip people off because I would have hired the same guy for 3 more projects we are looking to do.

Replaced Water Heater. Within 30 mins of me entering my request on the site, 3 installation companies contacted me. I spoke to the one with the best rating among the three, the job was completed the following day. The price was reasonable and the job was completed professionally in very short turnaround time.

Home Advisor had my order, paid upfront, for 5 days then called 2 hours before work to be done to postpone for another 5 days. That is contrary to all advertisement... Lousy management left me with no electric for my full freezer.

The painting process was painless and last minute trim location changes were completed without any hassle. Laminate flooring. Paul's work was exceptional!!! Highly recommend his work. The job was done in a timely manner and he and his help were very helpful. Paul's workmanship is absolutely the best. Blown In Insulation and Spray Foam Insulation - I was able to find local contractors and fair pricing. Most of the contractors listed in the local newspaper never even returned my calls. A couple did show up to look over the what I wanted insulated. But they never replied back with any estimates or proposals. The contractors on HomeAdvisor did reply and I was able to make a choice. The reviews made it easier to pick a good one.

Arrived on time, got right to work. Knew the job and cleaned up all the debris. I also had other contractors here and the tree removal people did their job without my supervision or "interference". I WOULD recommend them to others.

Exterior painting and wood repair. I have used Home Advisor several times and always have wound up with a great team and a job well done in the end. It really did take away hours of phone calls and asking friends and neighbors who to reach out to. Matter a fact, several houses were painted or sided on my block, and the Home Advisor recommended service company outperformed and came in at a better price. So I keep using them to filter through all the noise in finding my next service contract company to help me retain and add value to my investment. My home. They especially score Big this time with recommending M. L. Painters, these guys were small but delivered big. They hit this project out of the park!

Home Advisor "pre-screens" contractors for their suitableness for a home project. Recently, a "pre-screened" contractor by Home Advisor scammed us. A web search and background check revealed that the contractor has been scamming homeowners in the area for a long time (more than 10 years). Therefore, if you use Home Advisor services, you must "screen" contractor yourself for background and financial fraud.

Deck Repair. The process include power wash, replace the wood board, sanding and staining of the deck. It was confusion at beginning, because the first service just wash the deck and does not follow up with sanding and staining service. Then I book the service again, and the job finished wonderfully. First service, power wash: $320. Sanding and staining: $1200.

I needed a small backyard design and renovation project. I hired a company that included, design drawing, pavers, plants, gravel, lighting fixture, fence gate, and workmanship. Once the job was finished, I was astonished by the end product. They worked fast, on-time, took care of every detail, and left everything clean at the end of each day. I LOVE my new backyard! You definitely get what you pay for.

Used Home Advisor to find someone to fix AC after hours. They provided me with 3 local businesses that would come after hours. The first business I contacted called me within seconds, and was at my house 4 hours later at 9:30 pm.

My only problem was that the form kept insisting that I wanted a new roof on my home. I did that less than one year ago. There was no option for replacing a shed roof. Several callers said they used satellite imaging to see the size and condition of my roof. One gave me a price of over $17,000. That's $7 more than I paid for my new roof and $16000 more than I paid for my shed roof.

I requested bids from 2 other contractors who never even bothered to call me. How would I rate this on their files?? I would like to alert others to this problem with these contractors. I am lucky that First Choice did contact me.

(My apologies for the belated review from late April 2020, but working in healthcare during the pandemic has not left much time for follow up after 3 exhausted attempts to no avail).

Hired Contractor Andrew ** through HomeAdvisor after receiving 2 quotes from Pluming Companies in the area which were way out of our budget but we need our boiler and water heater replaced due to a faulty old boiler that caused a water pipe to burst last winter. Andrew responded within minutes of my submission to HomeAdvisor, he came to our house within minutes, he was prompt, personable, honest and professional. We didn't have to wait for his quote like I had to for the others. I had waited up to 1 month for my quote from the initial company that came out to assess the damage and do some repairs on the faulty boiler (to the tune of $2000.00-patch job), which didn't even work!!

I was told when I called it would be $200 but he charged me $300 and never gave me an invoice. I think he over charged me and kept the balance. Without the invoice I can't prove anything though. Please be aware. With Covid-19 going on I know I certainly can't afford to pay an extra $100. Can you?

Housepainting. My son informed me that he had experienced good experiences with Home Advisor, so I contacted them. The suggestions came right away, and I got two estimates. One excellent one and one who never submitted a written bid. I was very pleased with my choice, and the painting was done in a timely and turned out great! Since I am a Senior Citizen, I will need help in future projects, and will definitely contact Home Advisor again.

Replacement water heater. HomeAdvisor provided two plumbers which responded to my inquiry. Both came out within a day. 1 was less than impressive but provided an education. The second which was used had quoted the same thing at a lower price and included items which were extra and optional from the first. Do It Right who I had hired was professional, fast and kept me updated on the status.

3 stumps and cut down one big tree. HomeAdvisor is good and respond back fast. They gave me a lot of people to choose from. They keep in contact with me to see if have pick a company or if I have heard from anyone. All the companies they gave me were good reviews.

Unqualified leads 90% of the time....45 min waits if you want a credit and then denied credit. Leads come in that are not leads at all or are miscategorized and they refuse to reach the lead to verify what you say is true and bill you for it. This HomeAdvisor site is a big fat rip off to any business. Been on their site for 8 years and have to leave our leads turned off because it is so bad.

All gutters and downspouts were replaced around house and garage. Old materials removed from the property. Facia board replaced or repaired where needed. Consultation provided as to whether leaf guards were necessary or not given the needs of the property.

Needed a painter for the exterior of our house. There was only 1 company that came up, but they had a rave review & turned out it was from someone I knew & came highly recommended, so we scheduled an appointment through Home Advisor. However I received an email the following day that they needed to reschedule & we were able to do so. I received a follow up call from Home Advisor asking how everything was going & that they were having some issues with their site. I was in the middle of communicating with the company when it stopped. HA was able to connect me via phone with them to finish our conversation. I greatly appreciated them following up with us.

AC Repair. My service request was sent out to 7 different providers/companies. Only one company contacted me promptly by phone. My only suggestion will be to include a "no contact" service agreement when possible; and ask your Pros to wear masks, when there is a need to have contact with a client/customer. Overall, I was very pleased with this experience.

This company sends leads to contractor, all leads cost contractor approximately $20 per lead. Contractors are charged for all leads! Most of my leads were totally worthless, asked for credits and always told not possible! Total waste of money! The only company benefiting from their leads is HomeAdvisor! In other words they get the gold and you get the shaft! If you want to get robbed, then this would be where you need to go! In conclusion don’t waste your time or money, because if you do, you’ll be sorry!

Doug did a great job, was professional, courteous and worked with me on price estimate. Home Advisor has now sent me numerous contractors for various jobs and I am very satisfied with my results.

Damaged drywall in ceiling was removed with absolutely no mess incurred and new drywall was installed with tape. Workmanship was excellent - very satisfied. Everything was very straightforward and job was done efficiently & in a very timely manner. The price was fair and everything discussed beforehand.

Amazing job of the highest quality! The team showed up on time and they made sure that the job was fully completed to our expectations. The team was friendly and they sought out ways to help to perfect their job such as fixing basic parts of the fence etc. When I found out that the team was coming from all of the south shore I understood and expected them to come the next day, however, they came later in the afternoon and did a marvelous job beginning and completing their work.

Lawn Maintenance contractor. First, the good news - HA helped us find and good contractor who does a fine job for a very reasonable price, and contractor shows up faithfully to the schedule we set. Slightly bad news - We were kind of bombarded by emails from contractors seeking to bid, or avoiding bids, or who did not want the defined job, or who were just fishing.

This experience was very beneficial. I needed a refrigerator because mine died one day and I was 4 days without a refrigerator and had to throw away my food. I received a response from Home Advisor immediately and Nolan was easy to work with.

Billing issues between contractor and customer needs to be resolved. Contractor could not get paid for work. Customer had to request refund from HomeAdvisor and pay contractor directly. Refund takes 3-5 business days.

Sump pump installed. HA provided several referrals with ratings and details. The process to sign up and receive feedback was relatively short. I really appreciate the service provided. I will definitely access this site again for other home jobs. Thank you for being there.

Roof replacement. HomeAdvisor makes it easy to find a contracting pro because they are all listed on their site. Just pick out a few and you usually get a call back or email quickly from each contractor so it's easy to set up bids and pick someone.

The only part that went well... when I paid for the work that was promised. After that it took a long time to be contacted. When I was finally emailed, I responded like it directed with additional questions only to have that come back as invalid. I found a way to email customer service and it still took days to get a response. Called several times, system puts you on hold for 20+ minutes and then simply hangs up on you. Tried to call the contractor.. no luck there either... In the end... They NEVER showed up, NEVER called!!! But HomeAdvisor says that they did and will not refund me... my technology proves they are wrong.. but they don't care. DO NOT USE THEM UNDER EVEN THE MOST DIRE CIRCUMSTANCES.

Repair or Replace Home AC & Heating Equipment. My only "complaint" is that I expected to get referred to (or contacted by) more than two potential vendors. On the other hand, I didn't want to be inundated by a LOT of companies. Pest prevention. The service was helpful to identity companies and know that they were properly vetted. The category was a bit broad but it gave me a good place to start. Hired "Your American Maid" for a move in cleaning. Never hired a cleaning service but due COVID hired "Your American Maid". The whole experience was excellent from making the appointment, staff came on time. Staff did an excellent job and I felt went above and beyond making our home clean. Very happy with the service.

I booked a moving contractor on Home Advisor.com and my credit card was immediately billed. The contractor reached out to me and it was obvious that they were NOT prepared to move my furniture that was specifically documented as HEAVY and LARGE and truck required. I gave them an opportunity to find additional resources - could not get the contractor to respond by phone or text the next day. I reached out to Home Advisor and sat on hold for a VERY long time - so I emailed them at 9:06 AM. At 3:00 PM I still had no response to my concerns so I cancelled the booking. I was immediately billed $15 for canceling less than 24 hours. This was a VERY POOR example of customer service and I won't use them again.

He was supposed to follow up with me 2 days ago regarding it, but he has somehow become invisible---and believe I know why. When I called back in to follow up with him (since he didn't do so with me), Skylar took the call and informed me that Josh had given me the incorrect info. To be clear, based on what Skylar is now telling me--EVERYTHING Josh told me is incorrect! My Project called for (2) glass windows to be placed into my french patio doors; that is the glass is to be replaced only. Josh gave (and emailed me) a quote to do just that.

I have used HomeAdvisor twice thus far. The first time the contractor was several hours late, but the work was done well. The second time I scheduled and received multiple email confirmations, including the day before. The morning of the appointment the contractor called at 9 am before my 10 am appointment saying that he would be late because his next job was 4 TVs instead of 1. I said that was fine. At 10:45 am, I received an e-mail from HomeAdvisor stating my card was being refunded. The phone number back to the contractor was no longer valid. I was not notified by anyone that my appointment was being cancelled. I attempted to call the HomeAdvisor 800# and after waiting on hold for 20 minutes, it said they were unable to connect me to someone to help and please submit an email online.

PetSafe underground fence. Home Advisor set me up with a professional to help us diagnose the problem with our malfunctioning diy dog fence. Until I used the Home Advisor service I was unable to find a company willing to do so. The fence is working great now thanks to the service we got.
