Leaking water line and for a pro it was an “easy fix” but for a novice DIY like me the problem and solution was not obvious. He explained what was wrong and what he was going to do. Problem fixed; it was not as “ominous” as I thought it would be.

This company was great in providing contractors to help get the work done. I've used them for a few other projects I'm working on and will continue to use them in the future. When the rep contacted me about this job, I asked about another job I needed. They immediately said, "Ok. I have a few contractors I can send you right away." Home Advisor calls to follow-up if the contractor called you, showed up and the work performance. This is great! Usually, I'm always looking for a side guy to get my jobs done but they have not been reliable lately and not showing up. This has been the first time I've ever used a company to search for contractors for me. Love, Love, Love the service!!!!

I used HomeAdvisor this time to help me find a plumber. I was extremely happy with the plumbing company and the technician who came to my home. Last time I used HomeAdvisor, I was looking for a roofer to replace my roof. I was also happy with the roofer I found through them. I will be using the plumbing company again very soon for another job.

Received two referrals via Home Advisor. The one I hired, who did an outstanding job for a reasonable price (My Sunny Pros Inc) and the other (Parker and Sons) who had no problem trying to price gouge retired Military Seniors in Sun City by charging 2.5 to 3 TIMES what all others bid for the job.

To remove three huge bird nest in the attic. Sanitized the area and put screens in both side of the attic was requested and rescue 1 was able to do it the next business day and they were there on time.

Part of project included the coverup of what once was an in ground spa, matching existing pavers. A sprinkler line had been compromised, leaking water into area, which BAC repaired. Completely satisfied. All goals and expectations met. Cost thought to be reasonable. Cleanup perfect. Isabella indispensable as interpreter for the project. Work guaranteed.

This the second time I have hired through Home Advisor and both experiences have gone very well. I like that all recommendations have already been vetted. This is absolutely the best way to go if you're looking to hire someone for any type of project.

I had the hardest time trying to find a professional who could tackle this project on my own. At first I thought it might be something I would have to do myself. Thankfully I decided to give Home Advisor a shot remembering that I used them before. The process was smooth, and they were actually able to find a contractor who could take care of the ruttily sink I needed removed up other items I needed addressed. Roof replacement and cleanup, complete roof replacement asphalt with some wood replacement and removal of pieces attached to the roof. Got bids from at least 6 roofers price ranged from 22k to 10K higher bids went down as far as 5K by the end of the day. This was of some concern and did not choose any companies that considerably went down in price in one day.

The business owner was warm and engaging. He set fair pricing and made the job a priority. He started and finished the job within guidelines of the contract. He workroom was extremely detailed and efficient. I would and will definitely use Can Do Crew again in the future.

DB Plumbing dug up & fixed the main water line in the front yard close to the house and got it done on the same day when I was there. They did a great job. Home Advisor was concerned about my well-being & tried their best to get me help ASAP and seemed like they cared about me because they called me and I like that. That’s a big plus in my book.

I have a leaking roof. I had three estimate and I chose one that fit my budget. I had a leak on my patio. Rainwater was running from my patio to my kitchen. Now is patched up. So far it looks good. I have to wait until it rains again to see will it hold up. They did a very good job as far as I can see. Hopefully when it rains again I’ll see if it would leak. They spent five hours working on my patio roof. They did not leave a mess. Everything was cleaned up. So far they did a great job.

The level of customer service can vary. While most customer services reps that I have spoke to are willing to help you. Every once in a while you will get a person that just rushes you off the phone. Other than this Home Advisor service has been good. The other thing I want to point out is that I wish that I could do is during the screening process to view the insurance information for the contractor as requesting it from can be challenging. I will not approve a project unless I see their insurance information as well if it applies. The risk of something going wrong with some of these projects can be too great.

The tool worked very well. I liked that it gave me an estimate of its own and then allowed me to pursue another quote. The individual that I was paired with couldn't have been more perfect. He understood my needs and accomplished the job quickly.

Multiple fence posts replaced on an existing property. This was during early fall when most fence contractors are terrifically busy and tied up with larger projects. HomeAdvisor could improve their services by not asking for reviews until the job is fully completed.

Home Advisor linked me to an inspection company that was low cost, friendly and informative. Only took a couple minutes to fill out the questionnaire. A minute later I got a call and wound up hiring them for my home inspection.

I have finally Found a company that only counts on reliable reputable people. After shopping for handymen would make appointments and never show. This happened 5 times to me. If I had to pay a little more for this service it is totally worth it.

I got almost immediate responses for drain cleaning companies and the first that called me sound professional and organized. He had a crew to my house the next day. It could have been that evening but I was too frustrated to take on more that day. I continued to see more emails from HomeAdvisor so they kept up with. I was referred by my daughter to used HA for a different purpose but very pleased with who they listed. I also had another contractor from HA and this too worked out well.

I used HomeAdvisor to obtain 3 bids for my window cleaning job and then hired V&G Carpet and Window Cleaning. They arrived early and cleaned the inside and outside of 11 windows, a large skylight, a glass door, and all the screens in less than an hour.

Job was completed at professional level. The part was replaced. I am still waiting to complete the seal. Inspection of the AC/Heating units still to be done. TD company is very professional, and it is doing work at high level.

I hired their services for the installation of a wallpaper and the worker they sent arrived without the proper material, which he then went to buy and gave me the receipt for me to pay it on top of the service which was already paid in full. He only placed one small stripe of the wallpaper, which was poorly placed, and did not finish the job making a nonlegitimate excuse. I made a complaint at customer service asking for a refund, and only got a $ 100 credit which I will have to use in order to finish the job, I think this is unfair for an unfinish job.

Home Advisor is a terrible service, both for consumers and vendors. I initially became acquainted with them working for a window company. That company tried participating in Home Advisor. First, Home Advisor does not vet companies for their competency; they merely sign them up to make money. How they do this is that when a consumer sends in a request, Home Advisor sends the lead to several window companies simultaneously. When each window company clicks on the lead, they are charged several dollars. Hence, for each lead, 3-5 window companies are paying for the same lead. And, if you call the lead 30 minutes after receiving the lead, the consumer has already been contacted by several of the other window companies and get irritated getting several calls.

Awesome experience. The company showed up on time - early and finished early. Great work and a great experience ... The patio was beautiful and they worked for 10 hours to get it done. Overall great experience. They cleaned up afterwards and it was like they weren’t there. I would use them again and recommend to anyone. Also, the estimate was exactly what they said it would be.

They are highly professional, efficient, knowledgeable & so willing to work around your schedule NOT to mention the cost of their service. Home Advisor is an effective service for what it does. But I don’t like about them is multiple phone calls and emails to follow up with me. I really honestly only want to hear from the contractors that I select.

I used Home Advisor to find a home inspector for my new construction and I found more than I expecting....a phenomenal home inspector. I will definitely use home advisor in the future for all of my home projects. I definitely recommend using this site to find your professionals.

Small Master Bath remodel: we purchased all materials, but Lucas and his team put it all together! He was very responsive to any questions we had and was helpful in suggesting certain products and designs. They were great! We will be using Lucas again for our next project!

I attempted to utilize Home Advisors to further promote our business. After paying the required initial fee of approximately $288, they proceeded to supply leads or what they state are leads. There were greater fifteen supposed leads, and I physically spoke to one person. They charged me for these leads even after no contact was made. There were no less than five attempts on each call. When an attempt was made to not have these leads be charged to my account, they denied it stating unsuccessful attempts. I spoke with a supposed supervisor who stated he would credit three reviews and that was false. No leads were credited. I cancelled my account with this company and they still proceeded to charge my account.

This was an old computer which I purchased in 2014. I thought it had seen its last days. It turned out to Have a Viral infection resulting in its inability to access the internet, rendering the computer useless. The system had to be backed up, and wiped clean. Attempts to use Windows 8, the original operating system resulted in crashes. Windows 10 was installed and now works without a hitch.

Absolutely worthless! I had someone scheduled for job, doesn't show up. I call, "Oh we're sorry". "Let's get you a refund." I needed someone to show up and do a job. "We can reschedule for Monday", "Can you promise someone will show up this time?" "No." Well, if I can't expect someone to show up to do work what good is your service. Poor customer service, not reliable, unable to fulfill promises.

I needed to have a tub faucet and water temperature mixing valve replaced in our shower/tub. This included cutting a hole in the wall behind the shower to gain access to the valve and pipes; which had to be cut out, and a new valve installed with new pipes soldered together and all new fixtures installed. I submitted my request to HomeAdvisor and was matched with 3 Pro's. All 3 reached out, but King Rooter reached out first and could have a tech there immediately and could complete the work same day. While the other 2 Pro's responded, I did not receive a call within the first hour. King Rooter turned out to be a great company to work with and provided excellent service at a reasonable cost.

Aluminum siding very dirty, had moss and oxidation. I-Shine cleaned entire house, windows and exterior walls of sunroom. As well as exterior side of guttering. The siding is actually white again! I would use their services again, highly recommend them.

I had a small painting job (a couple of ceilings) so I thought I would use their fixed fee service (where HomeAdvisor sends an approved contractor). THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Not only did the painters do a poor job on the ceiling, they messed up my walls and damaged my floors - plus left an unbelievable mess.

Jimmie the owner got with me very quickly and came the same day to give me a bid. His price was very reasonable and he didn't try to sell me on doing things I didn't need. It really gave me a good idea of what the cost average was for window replacement, baseboard replacement painting and door installation. I ended up going with two companies.

I requested a tree trimmer. The tree close to the power lines attached to my house. HomeAdvisor referred Holy Mowers. The trimmer was reckless and caused the lost of electricity and property damage. I had to pay $790. to have the power lines reconected to my house. So far no response from HomeAdvisor or Holy Mower the people referred by HomeAdvisor.

2 story house. We had 25 windows cleaned on the inside and outside. Window sills were cleaned and all areas wiped down. It looks great and I will definitely recommend this Company to to everyone. Thank you Home Advisor for finding them.

Block wall was damaged by a truck. It was pushed in towards our yard. A few blocks were cracked and broken. Blocks needed to be replaced, and assembled back into position, flush with the rest of the wall. Cimental Masonry restored the wall to formal perfect appearance.

Duct cleaning and sanitizing. Did a professional job and recommended sanitizing after discovering vast amounts of black mold inside the a/c ducts. Cost more than double of the original estimate, but the sanitizing will delay when I have do do another treatment. I bleached and cleaned the exterior vents while the technician was cleaning the ducts.

I have used Home Advisor in the past and have been very satisfied. M&S Painters gave me an estimate to paint my garage doors for $300. When I paid them, they said it was $600. However, they accepted the $300 and left. I wrote a review lauding them. However, when I went to open my automatic door, the mechanism was broken, since they had forced it open. Today, I discovered that I cannot open the other door for some unknown reason.

We were looking for carpet installation. Home Advisor recommended Empire. Submitted the info online and received a call from empire within 10 minutes. The salesman came out the next day and our carpet was installed the following week. The entire process was wonderful from beginning to end!

I had a clogged drain in the kitchen which was also affecting the dishwasher. The water would back up into the sink and then this black tarry sludge would back up!!! It was a total disaster. I couldn’t use my sink nor dishwasher. Wades Plumbing was able to clear the drain and also repaired the dishwasher!!!

The customer experience from Home Advisor is great. But the company coming (Grout Smith) was not completely accurate on the job performance. The quality of the work is great. But if they tell you to move the small items and we take care of the big items and they don't do it is really disappointing. The clog in the house was so bad that gurgling was heard in the pipes for over a week from 1 load of laundry. The water from this load of laundry had come up into the toilet and shower in the basement. This had been a reoccurring problem for years. Backwoods plumbing came to the rescue on a Saturday evening when we had a blocked system and water filling the shower. They came to our house quickly and gave us upfront pricing. They were friendly, knowledgeable and fast! I will use Backwoods Plumbing for any plumbing needs!

Completely unreliable company. 3 times in a row and within a week contractor did not show even after confirmation and reconfirmation. I called them to install AC about a week ago. Contractor and appointment was confirmed. I called the contractor a day before, he confirmed he will be there. Next day no show. I called HomeAdvisor, they apologized and assigned to another contractor and provided details. I called the contractor a day before appointment, same story and no show. I got mad and called them again.

Within 10 minutes of posting the job request, I received a call from the drywall contractor. That's good service. I hired the contractor and am very happy with the work. This is the second time using Home Advisor. Both times worked out great. The companies hired were properly registered companies with the appropriate insurances.

This was a quick and easy way to get a fallen tree removed after Hurricane Sally. I have had several TV's freeze up with the antenna I had installed by Best Buy. They put it in a terrible location. Slades Corners came and fixed everything and actually gave me 35 more channels and we do not have cable!!! Very professional!! Worth the $$$$$.

For window cleaning, I received one quick response, which I hired and can’t complain. For roofer I was inundated even after I hired someone who I thought was with HomeAdvisor but wasn’t. Center Construction removed three non-functional solar panels from our roof, installed new asphalt roof shingles where they had been, and handled the disposal of the panels and any debris. They showed up on time, worked steadily, and got the job done in two hours. Price was what they said it would be in the estimate. Professional, efficient, reliable. I will use them again and recommend them to people I know.

Tried this site for a quote, put in my information, Marking I didn’t need the work for two weeks. Next thing I have people calling. I tell the first guy, "Please email your rates." After hanging up he kept calling, I didn’t answer. Had to block him. Ten minutes later A random guy, no mask shows up, barely speaking English asking to cut down my tree. I explained, "You can’t just show up at my house." He didn’t understand. After a few minutes I just told him, "You are not hired. Please leave." These companies are not screened and Home Advisor gives them all tour info. When I called twice I was hung up on. Last time the lady did not care what happened, I had them erase all my info from their system.

Contacted HA 7 DAYS ago, made an appt, then appt date is here and the company never showed. Called the local company and he said they contacted HA a week ago and told them they could not do the work. NO ONE from HA ever reached out to me to tell me this. I will never use this service again, nor will I recommend this service, NOTHING IS GAINED BY USING THIS SERVICE. Go direct with a local small business.

Chris is really nice guy, He did his job really well. He reached the property on time and informed me when to you come to the property. Upon me reaching the property he went through every issues whether it is major or minor issue. I really liked the report he emailed me to me later that day. Charged $580 extra for unnecessary time and inexperience of contractor, then refused refund of non contract charges..I, personally, had to do a simple task in 5 minutes that the contractor had already spent about an hour on without success. The contractor had to go after tools and parts normally carried to a job by professional electricians. I paid for those items on the spot.

I highly recommend using Home Advisor if you don’t know someone personally for any job. I will start here and feel good knowing these companies are legit and willing to get on your project reasonably priced. Yes I will refer to friends.

Repaired garage door replacing spring, cables, rollers and tune up. Said door itself was good and Genie opener was good. Service included a one year warranty and he said to call him with any problems and he would come immediately. He did not wear a mask!

I have hired three different companies. Two were for computer work and one for wooden furniture. In all three, I am very satisfied and recommend Home Advisor highly. Whether your job is small or large I believe you will be given the choice of very competent professionals.

Suncoast was the third company I contacted to have a quote for repairing & maintaining hurricane shutters. One company took a look and said he would send a quote. I never rc'd the quote. The second company made two/ three appointments and never called to say he would not be able to make the first; he did not call when he was going to be delayed for the second; and I ended up cancelling the third because three strikes and you're out. Suncoast made the bona fide app't and showed up and completed the work.

We could not find someone to tackle this project. Home Advisor put me in touch with a very competent contractor who I would recommend again. Carolina Grading and Land Clearing completes the project in 4 days. The outcome met our expectations. The customer service was what set them apart. Found me several companies to work with. Reached out to 3 of them with high ratings. All were highly rated, but only two asked for photos of the work to be done. The variance in quotes was alarming: from $400 to $850. Went with the lower price as they actually saw the work before quoting.

I am a First time user of HomeAdvisor and it was so easy to use. I thought “it cannot be this simple,” and then I literally had a response from a good company in seconds! I don’t usually go with the first company that contacts me on a job, but I was so impressed that I had them meet me for an estimate and they met me within an hour. I worried I would be bothered by spam calls and Junk mail, and that has not happened at all.

I found that HomeAdvisor has gone downhill. I used to get a list of at least 8+ companies to go through and choose at my own pace from (read reviews, call who I want etc.). Now, I get only 1-3 names with NO contact numbers or hardly to no reviews (I'm getting the new guys pushed onto me). One of them I had to make an appointment online for the work in order to get ANY info. (Which is totally uncool! Maybe I don't want to hire them?). Now, I have to put the company name in on the internet to find any information about them since I can't do that on HA because nothing will come up on the company only lists of projects. I get bombarded with texts and e-mails to use the HA app. Why? I don't want that on my phone for the few times I've used HA. I may not be using HA at all in the future with this "**".

We had Gutters put on the back of 2 units. Gutter Solutions did an excellent job. They did our job in a timely manner and got back to us with when they could get us into their schedule and ours. We would highly recommend and are currently talking about more work.

In the past, I have used Home Advisor to find a general handyman and someone to install a tv antenna. All have been positive experiences.

HomeAdvisor found me an electrician to repair a broken load balancer on my home. The electrician responded quickly and gave me a few options. He showed up the same day and fixed the problem. The experience was good overall. I would highly recommend HomeAdvisor.

The guys did an absolutely stellar job!! He made sure to document any problem areas in the attic that I should be aware of. Also he documented some of the Fill areas just to give me peace of mind that they were adequately done.

I told this girl Olivia that I don’t want to get charged automatically and before I had a chance I asked her to even cancel that same day they charged me $80. I called, explained to them and they still didn’t return my money, not a problem. I will get it from my bank but I will make it my mission to write bad reviews everywhere I go for all the misleading lies this company does! Shame on you. Thank god I only lost $80.

Overall, I was pleased. However, I felt inundated with people asking to bid on projects including texts from HomeAdvisor in the middle of the night. After a while it seemed a bit confusing, was it a new message or a duplicate. It was also a bit difficult to access reviews from the website. I also did not like the fact that I couldn't simply access an area that said the average pro charges about this for this type job. I had to enter my information and then be showered with texts before I was quite ready. I will remember this and be more prepared next time.

I had an accepted offer on a property 150 miles from home. Not knowing any contractors in that area, I used Home Advisor to find a home inspector. One contacted me immediately, I hired him, and he turned out to be an excellent choice. I will use Home Advisor again to find contractors when I move.
