I received 2-3 Home Advisor referrals and Touchdown Landscaping was the only 1 who returned my phone calls. Touchdown did a great job & I was very pleased with his work. The only negative was that he left as soon as his job was finished & did not check in with me to ask if I approved of his work (which I did).

We were in a bind and emergency to get someone out immediately. This was a very Good experience. Will use this service for other home needs. I was not sure about this service but, they made it very easy to use.

Great work by contractor. Not familiar with Home Advisor system so contractor sent me the link I requested. When I initially registered in Home Advisor system, was contacted within hours by a contractor. Bid given promptly on site and work booked in for the following week.

I received same day mowing service and the job was done in a professional way at a fair price. I will become a regular customer after my excellent experience today. I was looking for a lawncare service that would be reliable and do a great job. I wanted the cost to be in the range of what I had previously paid. NO SHOW. And the Desiree wasn't listening to what I was trying to say, I had to explain it 3 times. When I requested to talk to someone else she proceeded to tell me she had already booked another professional for the following Monday. But was not understanding. I've been using Home Advisors for yrs. They used to be under another name. I have nothing but positive words. Any service I've needed, I've gone thru them and end up with really good technicians. I've only had 1 issue and that was with a painting job but Home Advisors resolved it. They are like a "guarantee."

I have been a long time user of HA. I loved it. I recommended it to anyone who would listen. The pros were excellent and customer service was amazing. However, something has changed recently. A month ago I needed a home inspection and had to have a few things fixed. I scheduled my electrician, cardboard collector, house cleaner, etc. well in advance. I had 7 I repeat 7 no shows in less than a week. I began contacting customer service in the early am to make sure my pro was coming. I always received the answer "yes". But when they did not, there were rude, inconsiderate excuses. I even had one lady put me on hold to call the pro to confirm. She got back on the line and said "yup he will be there this afternoon at 2:30". Guess what? He wasn't. I contacted him and found out I wasn't even on his books for that afternoon. So who did she call? Who was "going to be there at 2:30"? Once again no decent answers.

Simmons Cabinet refaced cabinets in our kitchen, three bathrooms, and laundry room. All rooms turned out fantastic and the kitchen is gorgeous. Excellent workmanship. Matt, Paul, and crew were wonderful to work with and completed the job on time as quoted in the beginning.

Home Advisor provided a good list of reputable Radon remediation companies. The companies responded promptly to provide bids and availability. The one I chose did a great job for a fair price. They showed up on schedule, wore face masks, and left the job site clean.

They give a good song and dance about leads and how much money you can make with their services. As a contractor I want to have leads to build homes. They make money on the amount of "leads" you call. The leads do not fit to what is promised. Often there is no job at all but is a empty dead end. They charge you 100 dollars a lead or more whether you get a job or not even if they call is a dead end. They then will fraudulently not let you cancel and continue to charge you for leads even if you don't authorize them. DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE MONEY OR WORK WITH THEM.

Was helpful in finding someone to do the job I needed done. Very pleased with the person they recommended. Home Depot sold me an appliance, made a promise they would install and did not fulfill their promise. Through Home Advisor I was able to get someone to do the work.

Gas burners were not fully fed. He recommended replacement parts, which we ordered at cost savings to us. He was the right man for the job. Burners would not heat evenly because they were warped and needed to be replaced.

I hired AD's Home Improvement Services LLC to remove the shutters from the front and sides of my home. Not only was the service handled quickly, but courteously. It is very hard to find a good person to work with who is not trying to cheat homeowners with prices.

However I started to notice we were getting worse and worse leads. To the point of the “leads” saying they never input the info/or I live in Mississippi, when called. So I ask HA to credit the leads. They told me they “do not credit leads like this”. I was surprised, because that one in particular was FAKE.

Had work done by HomeAdvisor.com (install sink, faucet & disposal) on April 3, 2021 and this went fine. Then I ran my dishwasher but it would not drain! After tearing apart the kitchen so the dishwasher could be worked on, cleaning then replacing all related parts and having a dedicated electrical plug installed the problem still existed. With the dishwasher eliminated as the problem all other possibilities were explored. A plug in the disposal, which was supposed to be removed upon installation, was still in place and causing the problem. All this took from the 3rd to the 14th of April, HomeAdvisor sent a professional to remove the disposal plug.

I later discovered that they don't wait for you to review and decide who you want to request a quote from as the website says, instead they just send all your information to all the contractors even though you did not request quotes from them. My phone was ringing and texting off the hook. I will never again use Home Advisor.

You need to allow people to choose more than one job that was performed. We had both a kitchen AND bathroom remodel done at the same time. Yet when I went to Home Advisor to submit a review, I was only allowed to choose kitchen OR bathroom.

They arrived on time each time. They had to cut the poison ivy and oak vines, let those die, then reschedule to trim back the tree. Which would complete the job. One guy he called at your company wasn't helpful at all. April in Payments was invaluable and helped us finally get the payment part to work. You should give her a raise and a promotion. There is work to be done on which website is being used, plus the phone app to make the process work as you would like it to.

Booked HomeAdvisor for repair of some loss tiles in my walk in shower and grout clean. My first appointment was 4/4/21, no show. Call and got a booking for 4/9/21, for 11:00am. Handyman call and said he was running late but should be at my home 1:30pm. Never heard from him again. Called and agree to take the 3rd booking for 4/11/2021 for 4:00pm. The handyman called at 1:38pm. He said that his work order was to clean the grout only and he don't have the equipment to fix the tiles. I didn't use him and call HomeAdvisor. Spoke to Mr. ** ticket number **. I told him that I would find someone to fix the tiles.

At the recommendation of HomeAdvisor.com, a marketing consultant company, on November 14, 2020, I contracted Mr. Bradley Freiss of Re-Insulate America to install 7 Wincore 7700 Series triple-pane glass double strength soundproof windows in my house for the amount of $5,290, providing an upfront deposit of $3.090, the job to be completed within 4 to 5 weeks. It’s been 2 months now, and the job has not been started, nor has Mr. Freiss telephoned me to begin installation, and during this time he has never once initiated a telephone call, updating me on the progress of the delivery and service. It was only when I initiated a telephone call that he would return it, providing a reason for the delay (i.e., weather, covid, time constraints), as well as a promise to call back with an update—which he would never do.

The site is about the same for ease of use as Angie's List and Thumbtack. The contractors on here seem better than Thumbtack. Last week I made an appointment with Shamrock for an estimate on my chimney on the Cape for today between 11-2. I received a last minute call just before 11 from a Chris that they are tied up all day. How about tomorrow? I drove from 114 miles to be here. I decided to call the main number to express my frustration. The first words out this clueless guy's mouth were "sir, I have all I can do to keep from laughing at you" and then "we are a company like many other companies in the world. This is just an estimate". Well....laugh at this sir!!! You deserve less than a 1 rating and have no idea on how to interact with customers. You should not be allowed to answer the phone and or even fired for your ignorant response. Truly pathetic.

Efficient and friendly man. Made an appointment and came to assess and the next day came back with materials needed fix the garage door. Replaced opener and spring, which was more than we expected to need, but everything was 15-16 years old, so it seems reasonable.

I signed up for Home Advisor for my pest control company. I received multiple leads that were called as soon as I got them and the following days left voicemails everything and no response. I also had several that did not need service and hung up on me. I was told by customer service these leads would be credited back to me. Near $400 worth of leads. Several days later I call again and was told by another employee that they would give me a $40 credit and 2 free leads and apologized because she said the other employee should have not told me I would get full credit. I asked for her to listen to the recorded phone call and honor what was told to me by another employee and was denied. I cancelled my account and was told I would be billed and have a great day.

I was able to find a company that met my needs in budget and a solution for our business problem. Company lacked my standards of communication but overall they were courteous and got the job done. Based on my experience I would use HomeAdvisor again.

3-31-2021 Needed a handyman to take a TV off the wall, patch and paint, assemble new TV table top stand, assemble top of hutch and install, install TV on table top stand. We were sent a gentleman who was half crippled and couldn't speak well, as if he had had a stroke. He could not get the tv off the wall and wanted my husband to help, which he could not do as he had a bad back and the reason we hired someone to do the job. We told the handyman to just leave as he had made a greasy mess on the wall. Called HomeAdvisor and was told that they would issue a $100 credit on the $225 job. Needless to say, that was totally unacceptable as he had NOT done any work. I will dispute any charge they may make to my credit card. Save yourself some time and trouble - DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!

My New Roof provides Amazing Curb Appeal and it’s simply Spectacular!!! Roff Roofing & Renovations was extremely professional with my home’s roof installation. The company explained the entire process “No question was too simple” and they have a great roof model in the office, which helps the customer visualize the complete multi-layer roofing process. The Installation Team was outstanding. Post roof installation the entire work area was super clean. A super excellent five star company.

Several shingles blew off the roof and needed to replaced quickly before the roof leaked. It was a small job and difficult to find a contractor that would come out quickly to estimate and repair the damage done by the high wind.

Middle of the winter. Freezing temps and heater shut down. Needed service that was local and could service our home ASAP at a reasonable cost. Three Valley's Inc. handled our situation quickly and efficiently. They were cost effective and near-by.

Repair small hole left by plumbers that needed sheetrock, float, tape, sand, texture, floating and painting. Even though small to professionals it was large to me. They did not hurry to complete and they made sure it was done properly. They cleaned up the area prior to leaving.

I made an appointment for one company but then asked for other references and ended up using the second reference and canceling the appointment with the original business. The business owner informed me that he had been charged for the referral even though I canceled my appointment with him. The business that completed the job was professional and the people were friendly. Their work was good and the price was reasonable.

I went to their website to look for contractors. I was sent an email with an offer to do the work through their fixed price services. I hit on the link and it gave me a price of $172. I called to schedule and was given a price of $170, and was told I could get a bigger discount if I purchased a one year membership for $20. I booked the service. I called the contractor the next day to let him know the gate code. He confirmed that he was booked for two hours and that I would be charged an hourly rate if the work was not done in two hours.

I wanted crown modeling. I went to the website. They provided a list of contacts and their reviews. They tried to set up an appointment. The person didn't answer but I received a call from someone else on the list and they came out that Monday. Started work Friday with a twenty percent down payment.

Home Advisor is quick with referrals. They also follow up to make sure you have heard from and/or hired one of their recommendations. Not really their fault, but I only heard from one of the four referrals, so could not really get competitive bids. Hired the first and only contractor that ended up following up. Must be some way to incentivize their contractors to call and give bids more quickly.

I posted my request and had two possible contractors. I already had one bid and so I requested only one more. The job was given to the company. They were very thorough in their work and completed the job as expected.

They were first rate, and polite and quick. Their quote was a fraction of my first quote, which, incidentally was not through Home Advisor. My floors look better now than when they were new. I would recommend this company to everyone.

Working with Home Advisor led me to a contractor who did a very high quality job quickly at a reasonable price. I am very satisfied with the project that I ended up having contracted. However I was extremely annoyed by the very frequent messages that I got from Home Advisor that seemed to me to be very deceptive. I would get a headline like, "See the cost for roof replacements in your area" as if I could click on a link and see average costs for different jobs in my area. Instead, the message contained requests for immediate quotations from multiple contractors for my specific project. That was fine when I was ready to make a final decision but was extremely annoying when I was just scouting and trying to get a sense for the scope and cost of the project. I will be hesitant to use Home Advisor in the future because of this.

Before I would type in my next piece of work and I would get calls from 3 reps straight away. For some reason now, it's very hard to get to that section, it wants us to lock in a guaranteed price, and I don't always know what is required so why would I do that? Bring back the easy way - I've used HomeAdvisor so many times and I love it, but it has to keep easy for the customers to find reputable companies.

Had I went with the guaranteed price, I would have spent a lot more money for nothing. My service provider was actually a lot less than the guaranteed price would have been. I think there should be a guaranteed price wording that says that you may pay less than the guaranteed price. Then, trying to upsell me a membership for a discount seems dishonest.

I was scheduled for a 1:00 appt. And my maid said she would be 1/2 hr. Late. You may reschedule or cancel any appointment 24 hours in advance for FREE. However, there is a $15 fee 2–24 hours before job starts; inside of 2 hrs the full booking amount is charged. After over two hrs I called and was told there would be no kind of discount and they would only reschedule since the workers have a FOUR hr window. The person I talked to was rude and didn't care about my inconvenience, only was told "they can be up to FOUR hrs. Late because that's their window". This is unacceptable for business practices where the customer will always be at fault. I will now have to post this across every social media platform I can.

I called looking for an electrician to hang a light fixture for me. After taking information for project, I receive an email for scheduled appointment two days before saying my TV mount would be a scheduled time. A tv mount was never mentioned during my discussion. Finally able to cancel the appointment and told the original had been canceled by me and TV mount schedule. Which I did not do. I would have to call and reschedule by original project. Needless to say after this mess I canceled membership. Customer service was horrible.

Home Advisor is a great tool to discover local professionals; however, don't think you still don't have to research the professionals they show you as well. I used to assume if they refer them they are golden; not true. I have found poor, average, and great professionals on this site. I do often come to this site before going anywhere else to look for professionals.

The only thing I didn't really care for was how Home Advisor has someone call you (not the company I selected) to try to set you up with a professional. I prefer to just look thru the companies that are returned on the search, I don't need anyone calling me unless I reach out to them first.

A couple of days later, I was sent two possibilities. One was a smaller, family owned business in New Hampshire, that also did work in Massachusetts, where I am, and Rhode Island. They called me the same day and set up salesman visit for the coming Saturday. Salesman was terrific; I signed contract that day. This is second time that I used this service and both times was referred to businesses that did a wonderful, professional job.

Homeadvisor itself was fine to find our initial roofer (who was amazing) and then after trying to review them we were contacted every 1-2hrs by someone wanting to fix our roof- even after I had closed the projects, and contacted homeadvisor to ask them to stop. Their customer service is incredibly rude when I called a second time to delete my account because we were tired of the harassment. I will not use them again

I have used businesses recommended by HomeAdvisor on several occasions for multiple projects. Have always been pleased with the outcome. My latest project was unplanned: an old tree in my backyard split in half during an ice storm and I had to have it removed I had never had to have a tree taken down before so I turned to HomeAdvisor and went with one of their recommended companies who promptly took care of my problem and removed the damaged tree. Most of my projects are well planed but this was kind of an emergency-I'm glad I used HomeAdvisor.

Main breaker was repeatedly tripping and we learned it needed replacing before it was unable to be reset. Being an older house it was not a part that was readily available (could not just pop into the home stores to purchase) so Andy had to survey his other sources to locate the part. Once obtained it was almost a matter of minutes to replace and finish. It was also comforting to hear his estimate when the big company I contacted first gave one 10 times larger and not currently affordable.

Took out old tub, replaced with shower with built in seat and glass surround on two sides, with knee wall. Also replaced old sink with customer provided sink, faucet and vanity. It took longer than expected since the shower with a built in seat had to be ordered and the glass walls had to be ordered after the shower bed was installed, due to having a corner to the walls, needing exact measurements.

Some of your companies on here are very shady and unethical. One HVAC company tried to tell me I needed a whole new furnace (it is 5 years old) and then they proceeded to tell me that I needed parts that the HVAC company I did hire said were shiny and new and didn't need to be replaced. I guess they thought they were dealing with a dummy. It makes me leery about who your contractors are and how vested they are with Home Advisor. You need to screen out the bad ones who are just trying to take advantage of homeowners!

We had more than 3000 sq ft of existing concrete replaced with ORCO paves. Also had about 800 sq ft of grass replaced with artificial turf. J & J guided us with the design and carried out the plan perfectly. Most impressive was the care they took in the preparation of the ground before laying the pavers. And, of course, Home Advisor claimed no responsibility and took no action to correct the situation.
