I had used HomeAdvisor in September of this year. My job was installing two shelves which took 15 mins and they have a minimum job limit of 2 hours which they charge approx $160 but the representative told me that I would be charged only $35 since the job would take half an hour. I confirmed this twice with the representative but of course, they charged me for the whole 2 hours ($160). When I contact their customer service they blatantly told me they cannot refund me since it's their policy even after knowing their representative lied to my face. Really disappointed, I was cheated and they have no remorse. Shameful service providers.

I was able to hire an excellent exterior cleaner. Josh was professional and went above and beyond to make my home look good. He not only cleaned the house, but agreed to clean the gutters, which he also repaired when he found loose areas.

I hired a contractor with Home Advisor to install a mini split a/c and heat pump I'd purchased. The contractor did a great job. He was professional and on time. Home Advisor made sure they sent me contractors who were able to address my specific project.

It was an 8 camera system and it was a wired system. We wanted constant surveillance. The installer came in and expertly installed the system. He then showed us how to set up the NVR and he connected the cameras to it. AWESOME JOB!!! AWESOME PERSON!!!

Strong Land services responded within a day of my posting on HomeAdvisor. They came over in just a few days and submitted a bid that was reasonable. We accepted it and they started the work the following week. The job was completed within a few days completely to our satisfaction.

This was my first time using Oak Plumbing. I use Service Advisor/Angi’s list all the time. I read the reviews, counted the number of stars and looked at how many customers rated them. I checked the average rates in my area forward the type of work I needed. Then I chose Oak Plumbing. I had an emergency; faucet behind refrigerator was leaking with water going under floor planks. I received a call in less than five minutes and it was after hours.

I got 3 quotes from the reference list provided to me by Home Advisor. It was important to me that they had business licenses and insurance So I chose a contractors that was professional and I felt comfortable working with them.

Great company- good price- job well done- owner easy to work with.. Job done in one day. Cleaned up all around house and crew listened to my questions and went out of their way to please me. I would have any of my friends have work done by them

I booked a home cleaning appointment. The cleaning lady confirmed a night before. 50min before the appointment they canceled and rescheduled to a different day before informing me. I ended up cleaning my place and lost time and money because of that since I had 20 guest a day after. They did not call or made any accommodations. They offer services through independent contractors and they have no control over the contractors, however they charge you and they protect the contractors' identity to protect them even if they are terrible.

Home Advisor found me a pro to fix my non vented gas fireplace. It would not turn on. The Pro was excellent, professional, personable, reliable & reasonably priced. He not only fixed the fireplace but showed me how to do maintenance on it. I would use Home Advisor again.

Landscaping Project involved adding rocks and mulch to my existing backyard. Also, They set up the ramp for shed & build up rocks around shed. JMF Landscaping did an excellent job and completed the project according to the scope of the written estimate/contract.

The idea of a central listing of contractors for homeowners is very good. The problem is, there is no policing of the contractors to ensure honesty or fair dealing. No checking of licensing or insurance. A contractor can get good leads from the website, unfortunately the homeowners have no real assurances that the contractor bidding the work is really any good and it sure does look like nobody is watching out for the homeowner.

Mid Tennessee Home Solutions came at the time they said and did it for the process quoted. Cleaned up well after themselves. They showed me how to properly maintain my water heater so it would last longer. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone needing a hot water heater replaced.

Was a little leery about using the service as no one I knew had used before. Turned out to be a good thing. Response time was great. Had contacts from professionals within mins. Would use the service again. Time efficient as Angi does all of the legwork - provides names, numbers and quality ratings.

Ok from HomeAdvisor. I did get 2 good companies, even with very pushy customer service people! Dunaway Electric Svc & Leiva Tree Service!! Leiva Tree svc will get up into the trees and prune them. They will prune higher up with more $$. If you have some knowledge of Spanish it is a bit of a help but not absolutely necessary. The owner's name is Robli **. He will take a check or cash. No CCs!!

Easy to find a local service provider. Got fast responses and quotes. Everyone was professional. Once I found a service provider, we negotiated pricing for the job. Service was exactly as described. Service provider was friendly and courteous and willing to work within my job requirements. Would definitely recommend HomeAdvisor and use again.

Great service. Easy to use and majority of the recommended business are honorable organizations. I have used to do pressure washing, sod my lawn, and install a new air conditioner. All the organizations were top notch. I recommend using if you need work down and you don't know someone personally to do the work.

I looked on Home Advisor for an asbestos removal company. I was just browsing and within 1/2 hour, the company was interested in contacted me. I hired them and they did an amazing job. I didn't realize that Home Advisor contacted the companies directly but I'm glad they did. I was have difficulty finding an asbestos removal company and Home Advisor solved my problem.

During the process, HomeAdvisor actually called us to check in on the progress of our hunt for a contractor and to offer any support that we might need in finding someone if nothing panned out. Fortunately, we found a great contractor whose work was terrific. We are quite pleased with the overall experience.

Your website offered a few options. Even though I did not know the company I picked I can say they were great. I will looking for more repair work in the future (remodeling and painting) and will use Home Advisor again.

I've had a few jobs quoted using this service. One job was completed and another 2 are in progress of being quoted. I'm new to Orlando so this service is an excellent way to find contractors. One of the companies that quoted though was too aggressive. Like a timeshare sale. Other than that, the service you provide is excellent. Pics are from 2 bathrooms I had done with Bath Fitter.

Great experience searching for Plumbers to replace Hot Water Heater. I had been without hot water for 24+ hours and needed this unit replaced ASAP. It was good to get a least 2+ quotes from plumbers to compare their costs for labor and parts.

I had a water main leak. I called HomeAdvisor and was helped immediately by Eden. He was out the next day and had the repair man out that afternoon. Everyone was great. The tech was great explaining the problem and showing me the bad part. I would highly recommend them for service.

Porches had many cracks and loose bricks. The work required removal and cleaning of loose bricks, point and tuck of all mortar joints, and replacement of bricks. The porch decks were leveled and loose bricks replaced. The crew was professional and fast. The business owner is professional and very low-key. No razzle-dazzle or super salesmanship.

I contacted just a couple companies for my job. Home Advisor would not stop sending me emails, voice mails, and calling me, trying to get me to contact even more companies. It felt like spam. I will NEVER use this service again.

Moving company office personnel were easy to deal with. Driver/loaders were very very nice and wrapped all our furniture in a very professional manner. They listened to our concerns and satisfied each one. They placed all the furniture in the appropriate rooms and reassembled anything they had earlier disassembled.

I received a call from a female saying she was representing Home Advisor. I asked a few questions about getting quotes for my small job and if the quotes were free. She said yes they were then proceeded to ask for my credit card info. I told her I did not give that out and hung up. In meantime a legitimate contractor, through referral from Angi, contacted me via e-mail. I e-mailed him back with description of my small job, he called and we set a time for him to see job and quote. Next morning he had one of his crew at my house, 2 hrs later done and gone. Never asked for credit card info. Paid by check. So, I don’t know if hackers have access to Home Advisor inquiry list but it is suspicious when you are asked for credit card info to secure a free quote.

Garage door pros did an excellent job to replace broken spring, provided excellent customer service and tips on maintenance for the garage door. Would recommend to a friend. Outstanding customer service. This is something that I would suggest that a pros work on having. This quality will have customers returning.

I needed a pool service as the local pool company was charging ridiculous prices for chemicals we really didn’t need and our pool water was getting cloudier every chemical added in. Smith Blue Pool immediately found the issues and predominately it was the overabundance of chemicals and time to allow the matter causing the cloudiness to settle. Then a good, power vacuuming. And repeat. My pool is beautiful now and the cost of his service was the same as 1 weekend trip to the local pool company and after many trips still was told additional chemicals needed. I’ll never have anyone else if it can be avoided. Thank you Angi for the recommendation.

Brian Was very professional and courteous. Did a great job. I would recommend him to anyone. Brian responded within one day. Couldn’t ask for better service than that. Answered all and any of the questions that I had for him. Once again I would recommend him to anybody.

Trim windows On the exterior of our house cocked and taped as well. Contractor also had to remove old trim and put down put down insulation tape to secure the window from Indo from weathering. This was a 2 story house. Contractor also had to apply flashing flashing above the windows.

Angi’s hooked me up with 3D Door Designs super fast and the company was great!!! Dwayne, the owner, himself came out and fixed the door!!! I cannot overstate how happy I am with both Angi and 3D Door Designs. Thank you both.

Cover existing 2 1/2 stall concrete garage floor with epoxy coating. We had no idea who to call for estimates. Home Advisor supplied 3 different companies to contact (actually the companies called us called us) and we were able to pick one we really liked. Just Googled what we were looking for and Home Advisor took over!!

Handyman called me said he was at my house but I just so happen to be on the porch no one never came to my house and when called Angi’s List the customers service rep basically called me a liar because the handyman sent GPS showing they were at my house, I told her I had camera footage showing he never showed up. They still charged my credit card and didn’t offer a refund until I threaten to report them for fraud. Don’t use HomeAdvisor or Angi’s list. They are not vetting their service providers

I wanted my cabinets refinished. I didn't want them painted and the Stair Doctor sanded and stained the cabinets, hence restoring the original finish, making sure the refinished cabinets matched those that were not being refinished. He kept me well informed on the progress, and made sure I pleased with the work.

I hired Points West Environmental thru your site. I received the first notice that the company was moving the date of quote visit. Next I received a notice from you that the company was moving work a month. I cancelled my account with you as you charged me $195.12 and the date did not work. Company said they did not change date.

We used C.E. Little Contracting as one of the suggested contractors provided by HomeAdvisor and secured 4 quotes. The value and quality product and completed job was completed as hoped and expected. We will likely use HomeAdvisor and C.E. Little Contracting again for other home improvements we may have.

I signed up to have walls cleaned of nicotine residue prior to painting, scheduled for September 24 from 9-2, the morning of the 24 I get a text that the person went to the property to see what they needed even though I explained at booking what was to be done. You could not reply to the text. The person never came back and no work was done. Home Advisor said because her gps showed her going to the property, albeit doing nothing, I was required to pay. They offered to refund 50% because they already paid the person who was supposed to do the work. What a great SCAM. Sign up get nothing but you only have to pay 50%.

Installed self closing hinges and drawer glides on kitchen cabinets. The contractor removed the 29 year old existing hinges and drawer glides and supplied new hinges and drawer glides, I highly recommend CA Wood Working. I would definitely consider using them again.

Home Advisor did a great job with timely and accurate information. Would recommend and use this service in the future for any home repairs or service needs. Very pleased with our experience with Home Advisor. And that is all I have to say about that.

Wanted to find someone to replace my patio doors. Placed a call to HomeAdvisor. Got a response from SEAN **. He said he has replaced this doors many times, and promised a deal on the doors. Wanted 700.00 deposit for the door, which I gave. A couple days later he stopped over wanting more money and he was getting the door from Home Depot. Cost would be lot more. Discussed how he was going to the job. He was an idiot. Demanded my money back. He said he would. Still waiting. Did talk to him several times when he isn't in jail. I got scammed. Talked to Kelly at HomeAdvisor many times. Asked about the happiness guarantee from HomeAdvisor. Seems it like doesn't exist. WOW. CLAIM NO. **

I needed to replace my roof and received several contacts from Angi/Home Advisor. I ended up using One Stop Roofing who was referred by Angi and I am very satisfied. I will use Home Advisor again for any home projects I may have.

I got help quickly from Home Advisor. I will use this resource again. Their follow up was also quick. The company that did the insulation that my house needed was competent, professional, and available. I had a good experience and would not hesitate to recommend Home Advisor.

Sorry for the bad review, before when Home Advisor was free and not allied with a for profit corporation they were fantastic. Now all they are is a filter to provide new clients for Angi who only wants your money for a service you could have gotten for free before.

Home Advisor is “just ok”. If you even browse around on services you will get hounded with emails and calls following up to purchase, even if you’re just budgeting. The search for a service is debatable about better or worse than a simple google search. The fixed price feature is a great idea but most times it won’t align to your specific needs so you end up negotiating with the vendor anyway. I heard from vendors they also don’t like Home advisor for various reasons.

I did 2 in one day and it was VERY difficult to track which one I was receiving information on. Should have identifying information on either the texts or emails so I know what I was getting updates on.

HomeAdvisor provided multiple referrals for tree removal and replanting and there were at least two who were not only prompt in their response, detailed in their service description, and obviously cared about the customer. I was thrilled with Tree King who could perform the work almost immediately and were the most reasonable in their offer.

I'm new to this area and there are a lot of exterminator companies here. I did not know who to choose. Home Advisor helped me find a good local company fast. Communication was good. I'm happy with the results. I'd use Home Advisor again in the future and I will suggest it to friends and family.

Central vacuum unit was 20 years old and needed replacement. Entered project data and location into ANGI and got 2 names of respected pros who made themselves available. Made the job easy to get done. Pleased with the whole process.

Home Advisor/Angi? Like a shell game. POOR CONMUNICATION, ripped us off for a job that wasn’t done, no confirmation from contractor, no show, job didn’t pop in app until after their so called cancellation deadline passed. Seems like stealing, would not recommend!!

I was able to hire a contractor quickly, get my estimates and job completed in a timely manner, and at a fair price. The contractor was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I would recommend this company to all of my family and friends for all future projects.

I was very happy with the tree removal. Got two estimates. Took one and the work was awesome. Not so happy with the driveway. Only got one response and they gave an estimate over the phone from looking at Google Maps. Way out of my price range.

I filled out a request for service on a project recently. I can't find the order number. I've logged into my account and cannot see an order number anywhere. Regarding privacy, it makes me feel unsafe to enter my project information, including my name, email, address and phone number, and then have the Home Advisor App take that information and send it to Pros. I would feel more secure if I could get the names of the Pros first and vet them myself before having them contact me. This last pro that I worked with explained to me that the pros don't get the customer's phone number and other personal information. I was happy to learn that, but I wish that the HomeAdvisor website would clarify that. I think a lot of customers share my privacy concerns.

Professional and careful work. Appreciate the fast availability and work on the weekend for no additional cost. Was under quote. Good quality product used. Was having trouble finding anyone. And if flooring repair had been needed, they would have handled that also. All is much appreciated!

Clean septic tank and lines from house. Tank not cleaned for at least three years.. Was experiencing some backup in lines. All plumbing now working properly. Have not previously used this company but will probably use again in the future. Satisfied with service. Standard rates.

Very dissatisfied with this membership and their contact process. Immediately I started receiving phone calls from so many contractors that it was overwhelming. In addition, some notifications never came through from the contractor via the app making me falsely think he was ignoring my texts when in reality he was responding but I never received them. I will never use Home Advisor again.

This is basically a scam. You book a job, they take your money and you have no options if they don't show up. Got in touch with HomeAdvisor who said they couldn't do anything. Sent me to another department who told me they couldn't do anything either. No project, no way to fix it, the best answer they can give is wait a week. This is absolute **. Do NOT fall for this.

It Is very sad that I must give this review a star. Homeadvisor Is a company & their staff only want your bank account, since 2013 I've been arguing with them about fakes leads they have sent. Homeadvisor would send me a lead for plumbing or Electrical work or A customer named Dirty Underwear from cesspool, When I complained everyone got a laugh but my credit card was charged for the laugh. When I would call to rectify any other fake leads they would say, "We will just charge you half the price," after arguing that, then they would charge me the full amount.. Homeadvisor now have a Class action lawsuit against them by 760 ex employees for sending FAKE leads to their customers, hopefully there will be justice...

Professional and dependable and did an great job! Ryan ** communicated well the plan on what we wanted. The job was completed within 2 days. Ryan cleaned up the yard trash and took it away. I will be using him again and will recommend him to others.

Angi gives you a list of companies or person, who might or Might not be the person for you. You have to use your feelings and common sense to make your decision. Price is also a factor in making a decision. Angi gives me a starting point.

As a contractor I will never use this scam artist again. Customer service does nothing to help. For a customer looking for the best price on a job it works. I understand healthy competition, this is not it. How many contractors are in any given area? How many use this site? A company that makes you pay for every call you get whether or not the customer chooses you? Have to sell yourself short on every job to try and compete? Must be nice to sit on your ** and get paid off others hard work.

It was an easy way to find a contractor and it didn’t cost anything for using the service unless I wanted to join. I was able to read other reviews from customers and choose from multiple companies. I liked the convenience and it has a good reputation from multiple sources so was comfortable using it to find what I needed. Was very happy with the contractor that did the service for us. Would recommend to friends. It also gave me the option to get bids immediately from all three and choose or call directly to each company and get my own quote.

I was very happy with this contractor. DENNIS ** was excellent! I really like that you make it super easy to make contact with a contractor that is a really good match for my project. The process of applying helped me to think through the project much more clearly. I'm loving this service.

Heat pump came on but did nothing. Repairman found it was a faulty connection outside. He fixed that and completely cleaned the whole unit. He did a lot of testing of things to figure out what was wrong and in the end got it working perfectly.

The first quote company was a no show two times. Things happen, but this company was just "Mickey Mouse". Second time they cancelled, he suggested I text message them for a quote. I'm 69 years old with a landline. I don't know how to text. He never even called back to follow through. The company was Clear Source water treatment.

I found a landscaping company that I was very happy with. Mow-Town landscaping in Hermitage Pa. Traveled to New Castle Pa.... and was the best price. So happy we hired them. Excellent work!! Worked 8 hours until they were finished, even in the rain. I will use Home Advisor again.

This whole middle-manning of text communications was really ineffective. My vendor and I kept missing messages from one another. The notifications of a new message came in hours after the message WAS sent through the app. Really poor execution there.

Order number is Xterior Lighting estimate number. Cannot find a Home Advisor Order number. Not sure why it does not show up on your emails to me. It would be helpful if it did. You can improve your service by adding it to your emails. Hired Xterior from three alternatives offered by Home Advisor.

Hired this company to remove overgrowth, remove plants, install sod, repair sprinkler, put bark in in backyard. Showed up on time, hard working, good quality work, cleaned up. Will hire again as need arises.

It was better than was expected. Patrick told me what he does when he comes (mows, trims, edges). Then we discussed how often and when and on what days to come on. Also the time of day and of course the fee ($40) per each time.

I had a couple companies who got back to me efficiently and was very pleased. The company that got back to me via text was the company I used. Miller's Debris Removal. I will recommend them to my neighbors and will use them again in the future.

I tried to pay the bill for a job well done and installed the app, verified through email and still could not complete payment. I called customer service who transferred me 4 times to different people all of whom said they could not take my credit card information and suggested that I use alternative methods (meaning cash or check). Very unhappy with the payment system. With a broken app you should warn people that it does not work correctly and to have them pay upfront instead of going through your payment system.

We were looking to put siding on our house but discovered that we needed a new roof more. We received estimates from two companies and chose Freedom Builders Enterprises, Inc. They provided excellent service and professional results. We are very pleased.

We hired a pro through HomeAdvisor to install flooring and tackle some minor renovations in a home we just bought. The contractor did poor quality work, damaged walls in the process, and failed to finish on our required timeline, even after a 9-day extension. We immediately filed a complaint through the Home Advisor Happiness Guarantee, and though we've been promised that our case is in process and that someone would follow up with us in 1-2 days, we are now more than a week later without any further contact. We don't know what the next steps are; we don't know if they need more information. In the meantime, we're living in a mess of a house unable to set out our furniture, because there is still a ton of work that needs to be done.

They power washed my front stoop, sidewalk and vinyl siding and did an efficient and very nice job. I would recommend them to my friends and neighbors. For the amount of work their fee was very much in line for the work done.

Good service, but when doing research there doesn't appear a way to gather information without actually contacting providers. I wanted an idea of the cost before getting into contact with providers and before the providers start calling me.

The Angi listing the 20% off a service is not true. I paid my $30 and used a service they advertised and they would not give me the discount. They said they could not find it in their records. I said look under reviews and you can read all about it. Maybe the $1300. was too much for a 20% discount. They should clarify what services are acceptable. I'm disappointed in them and I'm still waiting for the $30.00 refund. Beware of good ole Angi

By using Home Advisor, I was able to hire the perfect someone to stretch my carpet. He definitely knew what he was doing. The job was done very well and I am very happy with the results. As an afterthought, I think my cat was very relieved when he left.

Very please with the cleaning performed today. They were on time and cleaned bathrooms, vacuumed and dusted every room in the house. I am overly pleased with the dusting. All items were removed from the shelves and dusted. I have scheduled them for monthly cleaning.

Because of Home Advisor, we were able to find the best price and get the install done within a week, when we would have waited for almost 3 weeks for Lowe's to schedule.

The roofing crew did an excellent job. Showed up on time, got the job done. Not so much with the drywall repair. Used an awful lot of drywall mud. There's a bulge in the ceiling. Didn't match the paint very well.

Ripped off several layers of shingle on an 1875 home. Replaced shingles and sealed area around chimneys. Cleaned up afterwards leaving not a shred of evidence that they had been there. Gave excellent and honest report of future work needed to be done.

I was trying desperately to communicate that I needed a low voltage technician to redo some wiring in our house, but the website's design and interface for option choices kept funneling me into misleading project "tags." There should be more descriptive options and probably a whole section related to low voltage wiring and for what purposes the wiring should be done. It has been a while since I used the interface for the project builder and I can't exactly remember the frustration, but I know it only conflated telephone wires with data cables (which aren't always the same if the house is older) and did not allow for sufficiently accurate options or an "other" category to be selected under the home networking selection. Please revamp that part of the interface to allow for a greater variety of projects to be communicated.

Home Advisor selected three contractors. All three contractors contacted me within hours of being submitted. Two of the three contractors offered appointments for the following morning (one of which with the intent to complete the work at that time) and the third contractor offered a same day appointment and completed the work. The Angi app is great!

I needed my sump pump replaced. I used Homeadvisor as I had done so in the past with positive results. I was told the job would cost $540 which seemed high, but they estimated 3 hours of labor so I went with it. I guess I thought the price would be adjusted based on the job. WRONG! It took the plumber (who did a great job BTW) about 40 minutes to install a new pump. Then he asked me to pay him $185 for the pump? I told him I was already paying $540 and he said that was for the labor. He suggested I call Home advisor and tell them they overestimated the job. Of course I did and they told me the $540 was for the booking fee! $540 and I did the whole thing online. What did they do for $540? One thing is for sure. I will never use this service again.

I really like having several contractors to speak with about the projects. It gives me several options to help make a better decision. I like that most contractors respond to my request quickly. I have done painting, roofing, window replacement, flooring, remodeling. As an out of town owner, it has been very helpful to have local contractor to work with.

VM construction how does build a patio in front of the side door of our house. The crew was professional courteous and highly skilled. They worked hard, did a great job, and completed it in good time, we were very happy with the quality of the work. They were also very reasonably priced. I felt confident with their work since they were highly skilled. They had all the necessary tools and equipment on their truck. I was locked out of my house due to a broken spring on my garage door. Home Advisor found GaragePros KC, LLC, in my city. Justin from Garage Pros called me, came right away, and had me in my house with an hour and a half. I felt so much better than going through random names on Google.

The combination of Home Advisor and Angi is not seamless or intuitive. For example, clicking on Write a review got me nowhere. I do like assistance choosing a contractor who vetted by multiple people, which is the only reason I would ever use this app again.

Two trees were removed from my rear yard. Premier Tree Service did an excellent job. They removed two trees on Monday July 26, 2021 and removed the stump from the large tree on Tuesday. July 27th. They cleaned the yard upon completion of the removal. The crew was very professional and I would highly recommend this company.

I received an initial solar proposal and pest control. The person recommended as a handyman had a ridiculously high price. He quoted $600 per day. I don’t pay that much to the most highly trained and qualified professionals in some of the most demanding professions.

They were friendly and seemed experienced and knowledgeable in their skills. Also gave good advice and suggestions on maintenance we hired them to regularly come out to maintain our pool.
