I love HomeAdvisor in concept. An easy place to match companies to my project and get quotes. I'm super busy, have a toddler, can rarely answer my phone so doing things online is really great. But every time I put up a new project on HomeAdvisor my phone starts ringing incessantly. Truly defeats the entire convenience of not having to use the phone to find companies to bid on my project. It's 2022 - we do business via email now. Phone calls are for people who look up contractors in the yellow pages.

Angie’s List put me in contact with WC Fallows Plumbing and Underground Services who ended up replacing my sewer line. They were amazing and I’m so thankful. Bill called me after looking at the job on Angie’s list. He was the right guy for a job and is experienced in what we had to do.

Polite, friendly, professional, on time, knowledgeable. Highly recommend, reasonable rate, took time to explain, initial call the owner asked to FaceTime to help me close my garage door safely until they were able to come out first thing in the morning.

I have used Home Advisor several times for different kinds of work around the house when I didn't already have a contractor that I had worked with before. I have never been disappointed in the companies I have hired through Home Advisor.

Mike, the owner, and all of his staff are very professional and friendly. They communicate everything to you and the installers clean as they go. I would highly recommend EasyBath for bathroom remodel. EasyBath was by far the best company that I have ever worked with.

John was most thorough in his inspection. He did the home, wind mitigation, and WDO (termite/pest) inspections. He explained his findings, provided a most comprehensive report along with photos. He is personable, friendly, and courteous. He took his time to explain things to me that I did not understand. He also gets back to you via phone, text or email.

Retrofitted a door lock that had been destroyed by a previous locksmith. Did a very good job. Everything was explained. He was on time and cleaned up when he was finished. During our first phone conversation, he identified what the problem with the lock was and how he was going to fixed, also he told me what his rate was.

Hassle free! After submitting 1 had 2 phone calls within the first 24 hours for bids. A third company called me later but I had already contracted for the job. I usually find it difficult to even get a call back for a bid so this was a great experience.

We requested assistance with finding contractors for multiple projects, including interior and exterior lighting and electrical upgrades, exterior painting, interior trim upgrades and gutter replacement. Angi provide very prompt responses and follow up calls to keep us on track and ensure that we were satisfied with the estimates and services provided. It really helped us to provide focus, direction and confidence that we would be working with reliable, accountable and competent professionals. Will definitely use these services again.

I appreciate Home Advisor as a resource for personal reviews by customers. Here is my review of the company I used, Lanier Wildlife Solutions. I recommend Lanier Solutions for any need you might have. I hired them to remove squirrels and rats in my attic that had chewed through a number of wires. I tried for years to get rid of the squirrels on my own. They not only got rid of the squirrels and rats but also an opossum. Also, they found their entry holes in my roof and sealed them up, then replaced my attic insulation that had been ruined by years of feces and urine. Their work was knowledgeable, professional, efficient, effective, and courteous! And the cost was very reasonable. I'm grateful and I highly recommend them.

The entire process was great, from the first office inquiry through the on-site estimate and actual installation. Everyone we were in contact with was friendly and knowledgeable. We are very pleased with the end product and would highly recommend Northstar Services.

I wish I had the opportunity to review the service but I ordered it and cancelled it in a matter of hours because I am not comfortable with their business practice and communication. I went online to get quotes for work I needed done, just small jobs. I received a phone call from Home Advisor. The person was pleasant, courteous and helpful in answering my questions. I elected to become a member ($30 annually) and book the service, having received a quote of about $150. I gave my debit card info for the member fee.

Was provided several companies for quotes and went with A&A Painting Services which turned out to be one of the best contractors I have ever been referred to. Will definitely seek referral suggestions for future home projects. Made my task easy in terms of looking for qualified contractors.

Received three company contacts from Home Advisor by Angi. I hired Proper Garage Door Repair and Installation. They were fast and reliable company who provided professional service at a reasonable price. I would recommend this company to get quotes from several companies before hiring them.

Frequently unable to find a single contractor for my projects. When you are able to find one it's hit or miss if I ever get a quote. Frequently unreliable contractors may or may not show up then become unresponsive. I end up giving great 5 star reviews to the ones that actually show up and attempt the work even if the result wouldn't rate such a review.

Extremely helpful and thorough. We were at a loss on who to hire and what to buy for my mother, and we were so appreciative of the immediate assistance that was provided. It made the entire experience stress free in a time that we really needed the help!

Great job of tile installation on my Lanai! Very affordable. Great communication, keeping me informed every step of the way. They told me where to go to get the best deal on quality tile. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They are very friendly and honest

Our thermostat failed this morning, lost heat. We didn't know until we got home from work. The repairman was at our house within 30-40 mins after booking the appointment, he troubleshot the problem and had 3 thermostats on his truck for us to choose from.

I hired Chris to help me fix my dog kennel roof that collapsed during the snow storm. Chris had a lot of great ideas on how to fix it. He eventually ended up taking down the old roof and adding a tarp…it’s temporary until I get the right parts. Will definitely hire Chris again when I get the necessary materials.

Paul removed the leaking faucet in the kitchen, replaced it with a new one that I had purchased. Made sure it was working properly. He had to drill a hole for the sprayer. In the bathroom he removed the old vanity, repaired the plumbing, installed the new vanity. Removed the old medicine cabinet, replaced the drywall and hung a mirror there then hung a new medicine cabinet above the toilet.

Told them I only needed a bathroom vanity refinished, but all but one contractor weren't interested unless it was a complete remodel. I felt that they didn't convey what I needed done. I did receive one contractor that did an excellent job, but it was a waste my time and other contractors' time that didn't understand the actual job I needed.

We are very pleased with your recommendation. We had an instant response and he power washed our home the next day. Grant was very polite when we discussed our project with him. He did a great job and we could not be happier with the results. Best of all he came quickly to give us an estimate. He was able to do the job the next day.

Due to placement of a sump pump in our basement location of our printing business, we needed to have a wall repaired with drywall. We also had two other small "dings" which were unrelated. We were presented with three drywall companies of which two actually showed up and gave us bids. We selected the more comprehensive bid which also happened to be the lowest. Home Advisor was continually following up - to the point of almost being annoying - with emails and phone calls. They were really pushing to get the job done and reviewed.

Installed drainfield related to septic services. The business was prompt and gave an estimate up front. I would refer this company to consumers needing a similar or same type of service. HomeAdvisor helped us make decision to use the company listed. Thank you!

Request service, pay upfront. No one contacts me. They show up in a car when they need ladder as stated in the service request. Within 5 mins he leaves and my account is drafted $500 and no work was completed.

This experience was very misleading. Within 10 minutes of creating my project and requesting quotes, Home Advisor tried to push me into using their service immediately without being able to get any quotes requested from companies on the Angi app. I thought the whole point of Angi was to be able to compare companies.

My boiler was not working, then Advance contractors inc. came in and fixed it for me with a reasonable price, cheaper than I expected. It was a very enjoy moment for me and my Daughter who was present during the repairing session. I like to profit this opportunity to compliment Mr Saul or Sol for his courteous manner, a respectful person. I recommended this company to anyone with a heating problem to share my experience.

Kitchen faucet was old and developed a slow leak. We purchased a new and better designed faucet but the installation was more than I was prepared for so I made the choice to look for a professional. Very glad I did as it was a qucik install for them and no leaks for me.

I have an ongoing harrowing experience with a contractor that was given my information by HomeAdvisor, powered by Angi's List. At my first complaint, I was told by Home Advisor that they would contact the contractor, and if a resolution was not met, they would provide arbitration if both parties agreed. If the contractor did not agree, they would bar him and his company permanently from Home Advisor. He did not agree, has put a lien on my property, threatened to sue me AND Home Advisor for the bad reviews, has made threats to my business and has been texting vulgarities to me, to such an extent, I've had to file a police report.

I hired Hollywood painters owner named RALPH DETER in Livingston, NJ. He fixed a leak up in attic in 2015. It was leaking downstairs in my bedroom.. He left a messy job left debris and garbage tubes up in attic, installation very messy and bad and also stole my stuff up in attic. He first asked to borrow a screw driver and never gave it back. I later noticed other stuff missing a radio which was old and wooden, garbage bin, window fan white table fan, shovels, white outdoor table woman's coat and chair tent. He and his workers put everything in garbage bags. I have plenty of pictures... I am sure other stuff stolen as well... Please don't allow this contractor to do business anymore. He and his staff should go to jail...

I didn't realize this was going to send to so many vendors, and your policy to charge for leads meant several were very persistent, even when the job was done. I doubt I will be using this service again. I didn't find it easy to navigate while I was searching in an emergency.

We got response from 2 contractors. We hired one of these. We were pleased with the response and timing. The contractor was professional and did a great job. Home Advisor checked several times before and during the process. Took Home Advisor a little too long to request a review afterward so I went to the contractor's FB page and left a review.

Why do you need to say upfront that my excellent contractor is “Unlicensed”? You are undermining his business and hurting his reputation. I have found that Home Advisor and Angie’s List “play favorites”, probably for contractors who pay you more. That is despicable.

We hired Absolute Solutions to come out and clean our dryer vent. Dj was very responsive and prompt. He explained how the process would work and brought potential problems to our attention. Because he did such an amazing job, we plan to work with his company again.

I recommend this clearing house of professionals but this review process is ridiculous. Make it easier or expect it to be skipped. I was more than happy to recommend the service professionsl that came to our home. I do not feel as if your service needs to seek reviews.

I put my information in and received four calls immediately. I was able to choose the vendor that I felt was best suited for the repair. I am glad the company was a local and independent. It was a very easy process. My regular plumber was already busy and now I have a wonderful company to call in the future.

Used Home Advisor to find a contractor to replace two front doors. Found a great contractor and job was completed quickly, at a reasonable price, and most importantly - the work was done well. We were very fortunate to have found Star Home Improvement. They repaired the Trim on our screened-in porch and shed. They did an excellent job. They were talented and efficient. Mr. Roland Hook, Co-Owner of business came by several times to check on progress and answer any questions we might have.

We had a slow leak in one of the coils from our tankless water heater. We went to Home Advisor for a licensed plumber, picked one with a high rating and was contacted by them very quickly. They showed up on time and they did a great job... We are very satisfied with this plumber recommendation as we have been with previous recommendations on services we required.

My water softener wasn’t cycling so I asked for quotes for repair/replacement. I was connected with another company through Home Advisor and they wanted to charge me $99 plus $1.00 per minute that they were there and any parts would be additional. This company was not flexible with scheduling and would not have been able to come out for two weeks. When I hung up with the first company, I had a voicemail from Ben with 1st Choice Water Solutions. I called on a Thursday and they could be here by 9am Monday! Ryan came out and explained everything. Every interaction was top notch.

Project was for removal of 3 decks and replacement with decks using composite decking material. Very pleased with Eric ** who is the contractor I hired. Other contractors had significantly higher bids for the job. Eric’s crew was very professional and they did quality work. We are very pleased with the final results. He is definitely a contractor that can be trusted to do what he says he will do. He takes a lot of pride in doing a quality job.

Roof leak. Roof tune-up. They were very prompt and finished the job on time. Since the repair we had a heavy downpour and seems like the problem is resolved. I will be happy to hire them again or recommend to my family members.

I requested a quote for water heater repair or replacement through Home advisor and within 2 minutes I got a list of 3 approved contractors. I requested a quote from all 3 and within 10 minutes I talked to 2 out of the 3. I then scheduled appointments and a new water heater was installed the same day.

The respondent to the request did an excellent job. He bought a 50 gallon water heater at Home Depot and brought it to ** for installation. The installation was very efficient and installed with high quality fittings. Two people were there for the installation which only took about two hours.

Calfo did excellent speedy job.. Problem was that company that was supposed to come picked by Angie or whomever never came and Calfo unaware that I was their appointment. Called Calfo Saturday morning and answering service must have gotten my phone number wrong as lady said she called me and hadn't. 8:00 A.M. supposed to be here...mystery company. Then called Calfo. Happy ending.

Representative called me. Quoted me $380 for the repair. I explained that I needed to look at my finances and if I needed to use the service I would call Home Advisor back. I was then told by the rep that it would not be the same price if I called back later. I told him that’s fine. I knew by that comment I would not be using Home Advisor.

I wish there were prices listed for the hourly charge for each business. I prefer knowing what to expect before the expert arrives. As for my expert, he was informative and kept me in the loop. He showed me what he was doing.

The way they contact the contractors for me was a huge help, as I didn't have to make multiple phone calls and get bounced around with people's calendars. Flooring in kitchen foyer and half bath laminate flooring to fix uneven poorly installed tiles. They placed laminate flooring over the tile and did a great job fixing the cracking of the tile and the uneven flooring that existed there earlier. Gabriel was very clear in his explanation and reassured me that this will fix the problem. My tenants are happy and the problem is fixed. He was prompt and on time. Gabriel also offers a wonderful two year warranty on the work performed and the product itself has a great warranty.

You can sometimes be overwhelming. Let me pick whom I would like to call. Otherwise very effective service for getting a request into the net. It would help if you used messaging native to the cell phone and not a separate system.

HomeAdvisor Helped me find a company near me that installed garage doors and garage door openers. The background checks and reviews were helpful in making my choice. I’ve used HomeAdvisor on several different occasions. Every one has been a quality company.

Garage doors were in good shape but cables had broken and needed repair and brought up to code. New openers and other mechanism that make the doors functional replaced. New outdoor code pad and multiple openers. Got so much more for my money and again a great job done by Martin.

Any time a website tries to collect personal information before giving you actual quotes RUN! I attempted to get quotes from reputable moving companies, instead I was given companies that broker moves to sub-contractors, which is EXACTLY what you DON'T WANT. So why is HomeAdvisor sending those companies my way? Because they don't care.

They called me right back & was very kind and helpful getting everything set up. When we talked on the phone he told me around a price to expect. We set up a appointment for the following week and everything went very well and the price was just like we talked about!

HomeAdvisor provided several contractor choices. I didn't know one from the other, so a) chose 1 nearest our residence and 2) checked out the contractor first on the website of the CA State Contractor's License Board (always a good idea).

I asked many plumbers from commercials, they wanted from 3000 dollars to 4000 dollars. He placed the shower and faucets and replaced 3 toilets, his labor was 909 dollars. Other plumbers they would pick my toilets and fix leak only. If anyone reads this don’t go to the commercials or yellow pages. Go to HOMEADVISOR. Thank you HomeAdvisor. Saved lots of money and very QUALITY Plumber. Look at my Pictures. Those other plumbers would pick my toilets NOT me at least with Dyers I picked my toilets and faucets.

Three vents replaced and sealed. Roof was cleaned and sealed and coated against any further leaks. Cleaned my yard of all droppings. Stayed into the night to finish job as requested. Promised to stop by and check if I'm happy with his work. Made future appointment for other jobs.

I received well over 10 phone calls within an hour of visiting this website. Didn’t like being forced to provide personal information in order to view recommended companies. Only went with company due to his professionalism and experience. I explained that I was search for my parents who are elderly and he appreciated that and related to my situation. I asked if he could give me a ballpark idea over the phone versus going to my parents' house when I wasn’t there. He pulled up a previous job in the same neighborhood and told me about multiple options, as well as a senior citizen discount. He was a pleasure but the company has done this both times on both websites. I will never use Angie or Home Advisor again.

I got a text message from suggesting someone and called him. He doesn't even do electrical! Spoke with a few guys that came over to give estimates and said it happens a lot on this site. One person said that he has to wait for a call back from customer before he will take your recommendations serious. This is a HUGE issue!

Requested someone to clean and oil wood gutters. We received a list with multiple companies. Some called us the same days more the following day. Some vendors were not immediately available, some wanted photos, some vague on pricing. WE choose SSS windows and gutters. They did excellent job.

Had a basement remodel. The company I chose was Inco USA. They did quality work and very happy with how they worked with us. The end result was beautiful. HomeAdvisor was helpful to pick a contractor. I liked they had reviews which helped me make a choice.

I tried several times as a painter using them for leads. Many of the leads won't respond. And yet I am charged for the leads. When request a rebate for the charge they will do that 2 times a month and all other leads are billed. I had 600.00 of verified leads in 2 days. Not one response... I cancelled again. I don't know how contractors make money this way. Please try next door or Craigslist under skilled trades. They are an advertising agency not a home service company as I have been told by Home Advisor. Also your estimate will be paying for the advertising paid. Go somewhere else for help please.

I had used HomeAdvisor in September of this year. My job was installing two shelves which took 15 mins and they have a minimum job limit of 2 hours which they charge approx $160 but the representative told me that I would be charged only $35 since the job would take half an hour. I confirmed this twice with the representative but of course, they charged me for the whole 2 hours ($160). When I contact their customer service they blatantly told me they cannot refund me since it's their policy even after knowing their representative lied to my face. Really disappointed, I was cheated and they have no remorse. Shameful service providers.

I was able to hire an excellent exterior cleaner. Josh was professional and went above and beyond to make my home look good. He not only cleaned the house, but agreed to clean the gutters, which he also repaired when he found loose areas.

I hired a contractor with Home Advisor to install a mini split a/c and heat pump I'd purchased. The contractor did a great job. He was professional and on time. Home Advisor made sure they sent me contractors who were able to address my specific project.

It was an 8 camera system and it was a wired system. We wanted constant surveillance. The installer came in and expertly installed the system. He then showed us how to set up the NVR and he connected the cameras to it. AWESOME JOB!!! AWESOME PERSON!!!

Strong Land services responded within a day of my posting on HomeAdvisor. They came over in just a few days and submitted a bid that was reasonable. We accepted it and they started the work the following week. The job was completed within a few days completely to our satisfaction.

This was my first time using Oak Plumbing. I use Service Advisor/Angi’s list all the time. I read the reviews, counted the number of stars and looked at how many customers rated them. I checked the average rates in my area forward the type of work I needed. Then I chose Oak Plumbing. I had an emergency; faucet behind refrigerator was leaking with water going under floor planks. I received a call in less than five minutes and it was after hours.

I got 3 quotes from the reference list provided to me by Home Advisor. It was important to me that they had business licenses and insurance So I chose a contractors that was professional and I felt comfortable working with them.

Great company- good price- job well done- owner easy to work with.. Job done in one day. Cleaned up all around house and crew listened to my questions and went out of their way to please me. I would have any of my friends have work done by them

I booked a home cleaning appointment. The cleaning lady confirmed a night before. 50min before the appointment they canceled and rescheduled to a different day before informing me. I ended up cleaning my place and lost time and money because of that since I had 20 guest a day after. They did not call or made any accommodations. They offer services through independent contractors and they have no control over the contractors, however they charge you and they protect the contractors' identity to protect them even if they are terrible.

Home Advisor found me a pro to fix my non vented gas fireplace. It would not turn on. The Pro was excellent, professional, personable, reliable & reasonably priced. He not only fixed the fireplace but showed me how to do maintenance on it. I would use Home Advisor again.

Landscaping Project involved adding rocks and mulch to my existing backyard. Also, They set up the ramp for shed & build up rocks around shed. JMF Landscaping did an excellent job and completed the project according to the scope of the written estimate/contract.

The idea of a central listing of contractors for homeowners is very good. The problem is, there is no policing of the contractors to ensure honesty or fair dealing. No checking of licensing or insurance. A contractor can get good leads from the website, unfortunately the homeowners have no real assurances that the contractor bidding the work is really any good and it sure does look like nobody is watching out for the homeowner.

Mid Tennessee Home Solutions came at the time they said and did it for the process quoted. Cleaned up well after themselves. They showed me how to properly maintain my water heater so it would last longer. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone needing a hot water heater replaced.

Ok from HomeAdvisor. I did get 2 good companies, even with very pushy customer service people! Dunaway Electric Svc & Leiva Tree Service!! Leiva Tree svc will get up into the trees and prune them. They will prune higher up with more $$. If you have some knowledge of Spanish it is a bit of a help but not absolutely necessary. The owner's name is Robli **. He will take a check or cash. No CCs!!
