I had a friend replace my basement steps to which ended up being put in with a 15 degree slope. After that small project we decided to go with only licensed contractors. HomeAdvisor.com has been able to line up each project with a set of local contractors. So far we have completed 5 projects on this new house we bought. The contractors that use HomeAdvisor keep in constant contact through the website /email... i.e providing quotes and contact information.

Easy to use site. Only one of the 4 contacted contractors responded to my request for an estimate. The experience with the contractor was great, so his high rating is accurate and deserved. The HomeAdvisor's site in one browser (Mozilla) was not secure which was a concern, but I selected one that was secure. Not sure the issue.

Floor Steam Cleaning and HVAC work - Very happy with HomeAdvisor. Cuts time and Bs. The people that respond to your request are ready to come out right away. They often have on the spot quotes before they even arrive. It's nice to have a company you can trust without researching to death.

I contacted HomeAdvisor and within 20 minutes I hired someone to do our power washing. I was pleased with the quick assistance I received. I will use HomeAdvisor for a project coming up soon. If you have home repair they will help you find the right business for it.

Had part of my roof replaced that had been leaking over the years. Also had other parts of my roof calked. Had satellite dish taken down and roof patched up. Used HomeAdvisor for the first time. Put me in touch with an excellent company in Jon's Radical Roofing. Impressed with HomeAdvisor's follow-up.

I have been scammed by so many contractors that I had no trust. I was recommended to this site by a friend. So far all contractors hired through HomeAdvisor have delivered services with reasonable pricing. The electrician I hired did come out to be $1500 more than initial price. Due to scope of work I assume that is comparable.

No one wanted to work with Lorex security systems that I contacted. Luckily Home Advisor had plenty of companies lined up for just what I needed! Got my issue resolved for under 100$ and less than an hour! I didn't have to contact multiple references either, seems like every pick through this website is a winner.

Was looking for tree work and Falcon Tree Service called me. They were the 2nd guys who called. A1 Tree Experts called first and they were the worst tree guys ever. Never on time for estimates and never on time for tree work. They climb the tree, then came back down and said they were not doing it and left a mess in my back yard from what they had trimmed and never came back to pick it up. Falcon gets 5 stars and A1 gets 0 stars with Home Advisor.

This has been a wonderful way to get help with projects. Everyone we have used has been great and had the knowledge they needed to complete the project. I have been telling everyone about HomeAdvisor. We had a home that was in the process of selling. The inspector found a plumbing issue. Used the site and found a plumber and it was repaired the next day closed on house the following day. Thank you HomeAdvisor.

Refrigerator - The technician was actually early, and took less than an hour. He knew the problem and fixed it. He had the part with him and didn't have to come back. He was very good and I would recommend this company.

This seems to be a very good site to find qualified workers to complete or perform jobs. It is easy to use and people will get in touch with you for whatever your needs may be. It is a great place to get reviews from other people and how their satisfaction was for the jobs performed. It lets us pick and choose who we feel is most beneficial for our needs.

Home Advisor notified contractor and supplied me his email. My response was almost instant and the work was completed within two hours of the initial contact. I would use both contractor and HomeAdvisor again and encourage others to as well.

AC Service Request - I was very pleased with the service of HomeAdvisor, I was especially pleased with their recommendation of a service company. In the future HomeAdvisor will be my first go to when looking for service techs. After this experience, I will not attempt to find a repairman on my own.

After questionnaire I was told the contractor was not able to do job and gave me a new list to choose from. I really liked the company reviews close by, so I decided to call them anyway. They listened and had no problem doing the work. They came and were great and the rates were awesome. The company was Affordable Electric. I have never, even though I complained been giving credit for using Home Advisor for this service.

Replacement of CAT5 Cables outdoors for security cameras - Received prompt response and was able to quickly contract with an excellent vendor. Work was done promptly, efficiently and on time. Technicians were pleasant and knew what they were doing. Would definitely Recommend Total Technical Geeks. Plan on using them for all my future work.

Very straight forward installation project with minor modification to plumbing connections to water heater. I checked for plumbers on HomeAdvisor and found some in my area with reviews. I contacted 3 parties and 1 responded very quickly and gave me an acceptable quote, and commitment to install based on my schedule. Everything went as described with excellent communication from the plumber.

This is very frustrating!!! This company take your money very easy and even making mistakes like they did with me. They don't refund the money on time or at least with the same speed as they taking out from customer's pocket. They said that I have to wait between 2 to 4 weeks after my refunds is approved by someone that I don't have idea who is, but what I know is my money is in their hands and is not fair for simple workers. What big company are doing with my children money.

This was my 1st experience with this website and it was impressive that I have received several phone calls right after I requested. It works, however I was disappointed with the refrigerator service. I wish it would be an approach people with the good rating to call customers.

I was very happy with the job done. They cleaned my windows inside and out and cleaned the screens. I also had them clean my hall chandelier! They were very efficient and finished with the job in 3 hours! My home is three stories high with over 60 Windows. I also had them clean the ledges. My Windows have never looked so good!

Takes a lot of the stress out of hiring contractors, will do it again. Both contractors (tree removal and handyman service) were on time and very reasonable. No need to worry about sticker shock. Being older and retired I do not need the stress. It was a pleasant experience.

Gutter Pros was the company that I chose to do my gutter repairs, the owner was very pleasant, but scheduling was somewhat of a challenge. The work was excellent once it was completed, but they left nails behind that ended up in my tire, causing additional expense that shouldn't have been necessary. If I would have discovered the issue prior to paying my invoice, I would have back charged the contractor for the repair expense.

It makes it possible to find people to do the work which you need done. In my case it helped me find people to do projects in a short amount of time. Takes the guesswork out of hiring a contractor because HomeAdvisor has completed the background research for the consumer. The calling system that is built in make contacting the contractors very easy because it will auto dial the contractors for you and you will be connected directly.

I would like to say I am very pleased with the work you done today taking care of my lawn. Brian mowed my grass, cut my trees, blew the debris, raked the rocks, and checked my sprinkler system. Plumbing/Sump pump: Very reliable and fast. Service providers were true professionals. The gave a wide range listing of professionals that you can choose from with affordable prices. The were many reviews from each company that you can view before making a decisions. You can trust the reviews given. The response was speedy.

Used to use Angie's List but have better experience with this site instead. My experience with those advertising on Angie's List is that they advertise "tickler" pricing to get in the door, then you still have to shop around for more work encompassing pricing.

Pool issue: Person I spoke with at HomeAdvisor was polite and patient. She asked detailed questions to connect me with the appropriate service. She gave me multiple options for service providers which was very helpful since the very last one I called was the provider we ended up choosing.

It is an easy to use service, and gets immediate responses. Follow up with the recommended candidate contractors is a simple process as well. I usually look for 3-bids, and research each company for complaints or kudos. Then a final selection is made. Works for me.

The home inspection services was excellent, the inspector conducted a thorough inspection providing pictures while identifying issues throughout the home. The entire inspection report was thorough and professional. The cost was affordable. I elected to get the Radon test which was an extra $150.00, but worth it. The report was very professionally done and delivered on time as expected. The process through Home Advisor to get connected with the company was very quick and seamless.

No hassles and a very pleasant experience is what I experienced and will use HomeAdvisor again for sure!

I used HomeAdvisor to find someone to refinish a floor in one room. The service was easy to use and within 5 minutes I had two local floor refinishing businesses. I hired one of them and I was very happy with their work. HomeAdvisor has repeatedly followed up to make sure their recommended vendors responded promptly to my request for an estimate and that the work was completed to my satisfaction.

Two businesses did return my call, however one said the cabinets had to be purchased by them. But when I filled out the questionnaire I had stated that we had already purchased the cabinets. The other company, TLC Professional Services is who I hired and did a phenomenal job!

Years ago we had foam insulation in our attic. The company that did that covered our ridge and cable vents. We did not know that till we had our roof replaced this last May 2017. The individual that we hired today July 29, 2017, cut through the vents & knew where and how to cut. The roofer and the company that we hired in May & the AC company talked with us about those vents being uncovered because of the ventilation. The issue was remedied.

We will always use Home Advisor for future projects and we will always use Energy Today for our electrical needs.

Concrete work - The HomeAdvisor reference to the contractor I used was just as the other prior comments described. I am very pleased. Would use the HomeAdvisor program again...and recommend to friends.

I always use HomeAdvisor because the companies are always licensed and you can read the reviews before you hire them. I find I get the best rates by using HomeAdvisor because the companies compete for your business. It's much easier than shopping around. We have used HomeAdvisor for painters, pressure washing and termite tenting. I was very happy with all three.

Used the web to review multiple sites within the location that work was to be performed. Very pleased with the site navigation and reviews of previous individuals' experience with the selected work project. Site listed multiple contractors where reviews were from the satisfied customer to those who were not pleased. Each respondent was able to articulate the areas of satisfaction and disappointments.

Hiring contractors without recommendation or good references from a reliable source for any heavy remodeling, construction, and modification for your house will turn into a disaster and financial loss.

Made an appointment online with one of several plumbers recommended by HomeAdvisor to solve my particular problem. Loved the convenience of online scheduling and the reminder email. The original appointment had to be rescheduled and that also was accomplished online. I like that the contractors are checked out by HomeAdvisor.

Air vent cleaning and landscaping - This is second time I used HomeAdvisor and both times it was a good experience. I have told friends about it and I will use them again. The companies were very professional, friendly which is a pleasant surprise. I have no complaints.

Refrigerator repair - A very professional technician had the unit fixed with a new relay in less than an hour. He also contacted a retailer for a quote on a new unit. Ours was 14 years old. The whole experience was great.

Was having trouble finding a pro to help me with a flooring project at a rental that needed to be done quickly. Turned to Home Advisor and had the job done in 2 days with their help. Definitely would recommend if you need a job done quickly.

I needed a bathroom faucet replaced. It turned out to be a little more complicated as the valves had to be replaced as well. Plumbing Troopers responded immediately to my inquiry and was at my house the next morning. Their price was reasonable. Their plumber, Brian, was very professional and his work was very neat. Snohomish County has Contractor Hotline and Home Advisor. I used both when I lived up there (the Hotline is fabulous!). Pierce County only has Home Advisor. The latter is a good starting point, but do your research on the companies (license, bonding et al via Labor & Industries). Some don't really have the expertise. Some are difficult to communicate with. Make sure your details are on a contract. Get invoice(s) for records. Work with the team when they start and check their work during the project and after they leave each night. Don't be a pest, but do monitor their work.

Very pleased with Home Advisor referral. We were on vacation in Oak Island and only going to be available for the repair (electrical) for 1 week. The contractor responded very quickly by phone and completed the repair the same day! The Contractor was very professional and very fairly priced. I subsequently contacted Home Advisor for assistance in finding a painter and was immediately connected with the professional who also arranged to come out the same day. I would highly recommend Home Advisor.

Air Conditioner Blower repair - This was my first time using HomeAdvisor and I was very pleased with it. They gave me three suggested vendors; I indicated one online and received a phone call within minutes. They scheduled someone to come out a little later and he arrived earlier than scheduled. He diagnosed the problem quickly, went to get the part, came back and repaired the system within three hours. It was a good experience and I will use HomeAdvisor again.

Central air conditioner was running constantly with no cool air coming from any above ground level registers. Basement register was blowing some cool air but considerably warmer than normal. Exterior heat pump had visible ice around the lower refrigeration feeder line were not insulated with foam rubber sleeve. Outside heat pump fan was not turning. Outside air temperatures were in the mid 90s. Tech diagnosed the problem as a stoppage in the condenser and recommended a number of actions prior to his arrival. They included: turning off AC/furnace for at least an hour; check condition of filter and change if required; check setting in FAN position. By the time he arrived on site these preliminary actions took care of the problem. The only thing he had to do was check the refrigerant level (which was OK), and run a short diagnostic on the rest of the unit. I dodged a very hot and very expensive bullet this time!

Subsequently I emailed HomeAdvisor only to receive the following response: Incident: ** - Response "Thank you for contacting HomeAdvisor Customer Care. Your email will not be read, at this time the Customer Care team no longer monitors these email responses. We apologize for any inconvenience." There was an option to speak to a customer care rep but by now that was not an option. Better off using Angie's List.

I was a bit disappointed with the HomeAdvisor service. I gave 3 stars because it is where I found my maintenance provider, but that's it. HomeAdvisor emailed me on a Saturday evening stating that they canceled my appointment because they couldn't get a hold of the company to confirm appointment. This was a services that NEEDED to be done on Monday. I was left with no one to contact because they emailed me on the weekend, and with no replacement recommendation or anything. I also couldn't call them, because they emailed me after their business hours. Fortunately I was able to contact the company myself on Monday morning to set up services. I had no problem getting ahold of them... I ended up with a great company to help me with my lawn services.
