Garage frame and porch eave repair - The repairman contacted me promptly, came by my home the same evening to look at the needed repair work. He started the project early the next morning and made all of the needed repairs, including painting. He cleaned his work area completely. I'm very pleased with HomeAdvisor.

Installation occurred less than a week after my HomeAdvisor request. Additionally, the pricing offered by the contractor was considerably less than that of quotes from contractors I found on my own. Will use HomeAdvisor again for other home improvement projects.

Jim and his helper did an excellent job. I have made comments under my account to rate him. They worked hard, explained what they were doing, consulted along the way and keep us involved in the process. They were also careful about not intruding more than necessary while working in the house. Very pleased with the process and work.

This was not my first time hiring someone that I found on HomeAdvisor and I have never been disappointed. T and T Remodeling did a superb job from gutting the whole bathroom straight through to the finished product. The painter/tile installer was wonderful.

First time use of Home Advisor-Referred contractor gave me a quote for work and asked for 1/2 payment in advance for materials. I gave it to him and got a receipt. Went through 5 promised dates with no show and lots of excuses. I finally asked for my money to be returned and he said he would. After 1 week and no refund I contacted Home Advisor's Customer Solutions Team. They contacted contractor and he told them a check had been mailed. After another week and no check I called contractor and he said he'd look into it and to quit harassing him. HA Customer Solutions team suspended his advertising until complaint resolved. Check was never received and contractor will not return calls nor answer text messages. He had a Facebook page and I found two identical negative reviews posted where he had taken advance payment and never returned. The FB page has since been taken down.

I had a pipe that had to be fixed in the kitchen under the sink. I called HomeAdvisor and they advised me to Pleasant Valley plumbing. When the guy arrive which was on time did a wonderful job. One shot took care of the job and the price was fair. Would recommend to anybody this company also with the recommend home advisor as well. Thank you HomeAdvisor for what you do.

For our family, HomeAdvisor helps with the challenge of finding contractors who are ready and able to take single or two day jobs. We've wasted so much time reaching out to contractors to have them say they don't have time for a small project. Replaced garage door opener. I am pleased so far with the installation and they are very experienced, professional and courteous. CV DOORS LLC was sending me text messages for the scheduled time and date, the arrival time and also a copy of the invoice... that was nice.

AC unit stopped cooling and heating. Fan worked but no change in temperature. Capacitor needed to replaced. Added a hard stop since this was a newer capacitor--less than 6 months. They cleaned up the unit real well and now family is happy again--priceless.

Advance Septic Systems was the contractor recommended by HomeAdvisor. They responded promptly, arrived on time, completed the project ahead of their promised time and cleaned everything up prior to leaving. I would have no problem recommending them. Larry and his team were very helpful in resolving an issue with the septic tank that we became aware of after the project began.

Rather than getting a Facebook recommendation, I tried HomeAdvisor. You get the first calls almost comically fast, so be ready. I had 3 very solid company reps come give me a bid, and they were like the 3 bears: one really low, one really high (a $1K difference) and one in the middle. I thought they were all very credible, they all gave me great free advice, and I just picked the guy in the middle, who happened to offer some extra work I didn't ask for. I will use HomeAdvisor again next time I have a job that I cannot DIY.

Had to change the hot water intake tube and shut off valve that did not work. Very satisfied with repairman and work done. Made inquiries yesterday and was here today at 12:00 today. You can't beat that! Did not expect such fast service. It was easy start to end.

Well pump replacement - A top quality pump was installed quickly. Technicians were knowledgeable and very polite. They installed the pump, checked the air charge on the pressure tank and made certain that the pressure switch was set properly. My neighbor was also very pleased with their service and installation.

They were great. Did everything they said they would do and more. Punctual, moved fast, and did a great job. They came and did an in-home estimate and promised not to exceed the cost. They actually were under the estimate and they even moved stuff I hadn't originally asked them to. Their price couldn't' be beat. Would highly recommend!

Installation of new kitchen faucet was completed with no problems. Fixing drip in bathtub faucet required returning for a second day because my tub faucet is from 1960 so WB Dickenson had to hunt down compatible parts. Once plumber Alex had the parts completing the fix took less than an hour on his second visit. Other bathroom shower had no water coming out of it for years--diagnosis: a totally calcified shower head. New shower head was installed.

This is the 5th time I've used HomeAdvisor to recommend vendors and have had great experiences with several different projects. My projects have included - roof cleaning, plumbing, PVC tile installation, locksmith and gutter installation. This has been so helpful that I don't have to screen contractors. They have been professional, timely and customer oriented.

Quality of professionals - All good as that they immediately reached out and had quotes right away. Pleased with services and would use them again to find professionals for other jobs. The painting I had done was very good. Had to have them do some retouching but they were responsive to my request.

This site was extremely useful in identifying Bren-Air to replace a 29 year old gas boiler. It helped you connect to multiple contractors (some followed up quickly some didn't). I also cross checked with Houzz but felt HomeAdvisor was a better site. I wish there were more reviews to assess the contractors but that isn't the fault of HomeAdvisor.

As jobs come up that need my attention as a homeowner but I'm unable to handle myself, I have used HomeAdvisor. So far HomeAdvisor is 3 for 3 in their recommendations for contractors that I have been very pleased with. I've hired tree trimmers, chimney sweeps, and roof cleaner through them over the past year and I've been very happy with the work done and the price of each of the jobs. HomeAdvisor will continue to be my first stop for future jobs I need done around my home.

It was a project that I had struggled to find anyone willing to do, but the contractor that was recommended through HomeAdvisor was happy to do the work. Washer/Dryer Repair - Looked up online repair services for my zip code. Gave them a call and got a very quick response. They came and had the job completed in 24 hours. My husband and I were pleased with the overall quick response.

We hired a contractor through Home Advisor. Long story short, the contractor took our money and Home Advisor was unconcerned. After additional research we learned the contractor stole money from a church! Really bad experience. Stick with recommendations from family, friends and neighbors. Don’t trust or use Home Advisor.

Discourteous phone rep - I was highly satisfied with the pro I hired and with his work. HomeAdvisor needs to work on phone skills. There is a certain way of speaking to potential clients. After all, you are representing the pros who hire you. I think the higher ups at HomeAdvisor need to implement a refresher course on phone skills.

Replaced electric outlets-was fast and efficient. Only dissatisfaction was the minimum charge of $175. I would call them again if I had a bigger project. This one only took about half an hour. This rate is equal to $525 per hour!

I was contacted by New Life Solara's owner, Mike who was professional and honest easy to work with. Washer was fixed in only one visit. Overall, I very pleased.

Garage door wall operator quit working. Remote operators still worked. John came to investigate, brought necessary replacement parts, should they be required. After a short time, he found a broken wire. He repaired the wire and checked all connections. The door was back in service in less than an hour.

He and his helper, Douglas, painted about 40% of the interior, much of which involved painting next to solid hickory cabinets without any masking tape. I have done all of my own painting and staining over the last 40 years, and I was amazed at the skill level of both Steve and Douglas. So much so, that we are going to have them do 3 more projects.

Raised GFIC outdoor outlets to prevent problems with debris and moisture. Checked conduit lines. Flag light and landscape light power are now reliable. Crew had to obtain parts but completed job same day. Knowledgeable and safe. Arrived on time and timely finished job that day.

Used the listing from HomeAdvisor for selection of our residential kitchen cabinet refacing and utility room cabinet. I could not be happier with Kevin's work. The best value for the money and great work quality. The cabinet in the utility was unique in the upper part was for storage and the lower part of the cabinet was used to hold a litter box with the side panel having a cat door.

Company was timely, crew was professional, work in harsh winter conditions, got the job right. Excellent workmanship. Replaced lower level glass pane approximate 30"x30" in vertical sliding window. I would hire them again, but neogiate a better price. Glass was replaced during regular working hours. Understand the higher price given the circumstances, but not double what I thought it should of cost. Proceeded anyway, not much choice given the weather.

At 5 AM on Saturday my furnace awoke me when it made an unusual noise. By 9 AM, still wouldn't start blowing. I contacted HomeAdvisor who led me to Absolute Comfort and Sons. Right before they called me, my furnace finally kicked on. Absolute came out and checked, my very old furnace needed to be replaced. We scheduled replacement for the following Wednesday. A lot of people had furnace trouble since temps were in the single digits and there was wind chill. Well, long story short, new furnace installed a day early and it is really nice to have heat again. Got a really fair price on the high efficiency furnace and install. Installers were friendly, polite and professional.

Replaced failed hot water pipe... Quality of work was excellent... along with overall customer experience. My only complaint was the charge ($397 for a job that took a little over an hour; however, they did complete the job within 5 hours of me calling and placing the original work order... excellent response time). I would definitely use Thatcher & Son again... For future work I would negotiate the price (or understand the price) before starting the job. Excellent overall experience.

Had some panel molding and crown molding done in house. VMI Trim Painting did a good job, cost effective and in a timely manner. Very professional, had a small issue but it was resolved without any problems. I would recommend them to everyone I know.

I had injured my back, and 18" of snow was coming. I looked on a few sites and decided to have HomeAdvisor provide my contact info to a few companies. The very next day, I got a call from the guy I ended up going with. Unfortunately company #2 wrote an ineffective email several days after, completely clueless of "snow removal, upcoming storm, easy client." And the third company never called or wrote at all. The good news is the one guy that did call is honest, hard-working, and was willing to add me to his plow list a day before the storm. He did a great job and now a permanent client.

Electrical repair - They arrived, got right to find project problem, explained the problem and they quickly fixed it. The previous repair work was not done correctly. They dug up old wire and replaced the corroded item explaining everything that needed replaced.

We were so impressed with the rep they sent to us. He took his Time and explained everything to us. He knew the answers to all of our questions. He brought the actual window in our house to show us what we were buying. He also did a demonstration to show us how these windows would keep the heat out in the summer. We were convinced that we wanted this company to do our new windows.

We did end up going with one of the roofers we found through HomeAdvisor, but only after they dropped their price 3k to match another company's quote. The contractor did great work.

Although the service repair company tried to sell you a lot more while they had you on the phone, I didn't mind because they were trying to keep you informed with the newer appliances. I never heard of putting a power surger on your breaker box to protect your major appliances, etc. but that's what I did. I hope it works!
